- 0:04Speaker 1: hip hop unite to glorify Jesus Christ. Broadcasting from Las
- 0:09Speaker 1: Vegas to the world. This is verse by verse, studying
- 0:13Speaker 1: God's Word, one verse at a time. Now, let's tap
- 0:16Speaker 1: in with your host, mister His Hop.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Live of the headquarters, Hello Hop, Las Vegas.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Another one, Hey, Welcome to his High Radio podcast. We
- 0:59Speaker 3: are Prazi verse by verse where we study Guy's word,
- 1:04Speaker 3: one verse at a time, discovering how it speaks into
- 1:09Speaker 3: our lives each and every day. In today's episode, we
- 1:13Speaker 3: begin Jeremiah chapter sixteen, and God gives Jeremiah a series
- 1:20Speaker 3: of commands that seem unusual, even heartbreaking. But God tells
- 1:28Speaker 3: Jeremiah not to marry. He tells them not to have children,
- 1:34Speaker 3: not to attend funerals, and not to participate in celebrations.
- 1:41Speaker 3: These were random instructions, but Jeremiah's life itself became a
- 1:47Speaker 3: message to the nation. Now, God was showing Jeremiah the
- 1:52Speaker 3: difficult days were coming because they were contenually rejecting him.
- 2:01Speaker 3: As we study this passage, we discover that what it
- 2:07Speaker 3: means to live a life set apart for God's purposes
- 2:11Speaker 3: even when obedience requires personal sacrifice. There may be a
- 2:19Speaker 3: little bit of sacrifice mixed into our obedience and our
- 2:25Speaker 3: relationship with God. Amen. And that's fine, right. Usually if
- 2:32Speaker 3: it cost us nothing, we really won't value it. So
- 2:38Speaker 3: it cost us to have a relationship with God, or
- 2:41Speaker 3: we may have to sacrifice, netflix sacrifice some of our leisure,
- 2:46Speaker 3: our pleasures. There are many areas and many things for
- 2:53Speaker 3: which we need to be willing to lay down to
- 2:58Speaker 3: have this relationship with God. Amen. And also I want
- 3:03Speaker 3: to invite you to join us in the Life Chat
- 3:06Speaker 3: each and every day. We logged on Monday through Saturday
- 3:11Speaker 3: at eleven o'clock am Pacific Standard time. This is a
- 3:15Speaker 3: place where you can ask questions, where we can interact
- 3:18Speaker 3: fellowship and also hold each other accountable. We know that
- 3:24Speaker 3: our hearts are evil and desperately wicked. Who can know it?
- 3:28Speaker 3: And so sometimes we just need that accountability partner and say, hey,
- 3:32Speaker 3: this is my desire, this is what I want to do,
- 3:37Speaker 3: this is where I want to go. What does God's
- 3:41Speaker 3: word say about that? And it's great to have someone
- 3:45Speaker 3: who's faithful in the word, someone who is able to say,
- 3:48Speaker 3: you know what, that is not the will of God.
- 3:50Speaker 3: And let me show it to you right here in
- 3:53Speaker 3: the Word of God. That somebody who just want to
- 3:55Speaker 3: control your life and they can't back it up with scripture,
- 3:58Speaker 3: and because of their own personal preference, they'll tell you
- 4:03Speaker 3: not to do this or that. That's not what we're
- 4:06Speaker 3: talking about. We're talking about someone who can show you
- 4:10Speaker 3: in scripture and disciple you according to the Word of
- 4:14Speaker 3: God and man. The Word of God is powerful, it
- 4:17Speaker 3: is alive, and we need to fellowship around it. Jesus
- 4:22Speaker 3: defeated Satan by using the word of God. The word
- 4:27Speaker 3: of God is a powerful weapon. And with that, let's
- 4:33Speaker 3: go ahead and pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you Father God. Lord.
- 4:36Speaker 3: We open up this podcast asking for your presence, asking
- 4:40Speaker 3: for your grace, asking Lord God for your mercy, Father
- 4:44Speaker 3: God to follow us today. We ask Father God, Lord
- 4:47Speaker 3: for the spoken word and raym of worth the word
- 4:50Speaker 3: that we need today. Old God, let the hearers be blessed,
- 4:54Speaker 3: Oh God. I pray Father God, that you'll bless us
- 4:56Speaker 3: all around. Father God, bless me, Oh God, as well.
- 5:00Speaker 3: To speak it, Lord God boldly and clearly and not
- 5:03Speaker 3: hold anything back, O God. And we ask Lord for
- 5:07Speaker 3: your presence, Lord, even to be felt through this podcast
- 5:11Speaker 3: or late your spirit fall. We cancel every assignment of
- 5:15Speaker 3: the enemy of God, every endurance, every distraction, every delay,
- 5:20Speaker 3: Satan us under our feet, and we proclaim this in
- 5:23Speaker 3: Jesus' name. Amen. All right. Chapter sixteen. This is gonna
- 5:31Speaker 3: get brutal, this is gonna get tough, but that's all right.
- 5:36Speaker 3: We're gonna get through this together. Amen. This is a
- 5:39Speaker 3: word of God, and this is what I mean. We
- 5:40Speaker 3: don't shrink back from any part of God's word. How
- 5:45Speaker 3: many pastors out there who are faithfully teaching this so
- 5:52Speaker 3: that there are people can truly get to understand and
- 5:58Speaker 3: know the character of who God really is. Amen. Well,
- 6:04Speaker 3: we're gonna do that right here on the podcast. So
- 6:07Speaker 3: verse one through four, we're going to tackle that. And
- 6:15Speaker 3: it says a word of the Lord also came to
- 6:17Speaker 3: me saying you shall not take a wife, nor shall
- 6:22Speaker 3: you have sons or daughters in this place. Now, for me,
- 6:27Speaker 3: that would have been a devastating command only because when
- 6:31Speaker 3: I was younger, when I was growing up, due to
- 6:36Speaker 3: my past and some of the trauma experience as a
- 6:39Speaker 3: child growing up, I put a lot into relationships. You know,
- 6:44Speaker 3: I was looking for that girlfriend with the golden hair,
- 6:48Speaker 3: you know what I mean, the girl friend that will
- 6:50Speaker 3: make it all okay, that will make my pain go away,
- 6:53Speaker 3: you know, listening to all the R and B music
- 6:56Speaker 3: and stuff like that. Now this is before I got said,
- 6:59Speaker 3: you know, but even at a young age, I really
- 7:03Speaker 3: wanted to be in a relationship almost too well, not
- 7:08Speaker 3: almost to a point where I idolized it. You know,
- 7:11Speaker 3: I gotta be honest and transparent. It was like the
- 7:14Speaker 3: master passion of my life listening to love songs. I
- 7:19Speaker 3: would just hide away by myself in my bedroom and
- 7:22Speaker 3: just listen to song after song, thinking and waiting and
- 7:27Speaker 3: contemplating and meeting at perfect someone who never really came. Actually,
- 7:36Speaker 3: Christ came first, and then he introduced me to my wife.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So that person I was longing for was him, and
- 7:44Speaker 3: so Jeremiah has him. You know, God says that he
- 7:49Speaker 3: is You're exceeding great reward. And a lot of people
- 7:55Speaker 3: they mess up. They get into the wrong relationship, wrong
- 8:00Speaker 3: marriage because they don't first fall in love with Jesus,
- 8:06Speaker 3: with our God, and they don't allow God to lead
- 8:10Speaker 3: us to the person that he has prepared for us.
- 8:12Speaker 3: So I don't know that was extra credit. I don't
- 8:14Speaker 3: know who that was for, but for me, that just
- 8:18Speaker 3: kind of struck a chord. He told him that he
- 8:20Speaker 3: could not have a wife. And you must really love
- 8:26Speaker 3: God and be preyed up in everything in order to
- 8:30Speaker 3: obey the instructions that God is about to give them.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Verse three. For thus says the Lord concerning the sons
- 8:38Speaker 3: and daughters who are born in this place, and concerning
- 8:43Speaker 3: their mothers who bore them, and their fathers who be
- 8:49Speaker 3: got them in this land. Now this is gonna be tough.
- 8:55Speaker 3: He's talking about the children and the family structure. And
- 9:02Speaker 3: verse four, they shall die gruesome deaths Now, how many
- 9:07Speaker 3: Christians are speaking against abortions today? How many Christians are
- 9:17Speaker 3: rising up trying to save our children from sex trafficking
- 9:21Speaker 3: and you know gang banging and lives that are taken young. Well,
- 9:29Speaker 3: this judgment, this is coming from God himself. Now we
- 9:32Speaker 3: gotta look at God. We got to look at all
- 9:34Speaker 3: sides of him. Hey man, this is a guy in
- 9:36Speaker 3: whom we have to do. We will be judged face
- 9:41Speaker 3: by face, face and face by him one day. And
- 9:45Speaker 3: because of their iniquity, he said that their children are
- 9:52Speaker 3: gonna die gruesome deaths Now, let's go on. They shall
- 9:58Speaker 3: not be lamented in other whereas you can't cry for them,
- 10:02Speaker 3: nor shall they be buried. You can't even bury them.
- 10:06Speaker 3: But they shall be like refuge on the face of
- 10:10Speaker 3: the earth. They shall be consumed by sword, in by famine.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Today you can say, you know, they'll be shot up.
- 10:22Speaker 3: They'll be dry bis all over the country, and they're
- 10:26Speaker 3: gonna cut off their ebt. Nobody's gonna get food stamps
- 10:30Speaker 3: or none. They're just gonna starve, and their corpses shall
- 10:35Speaker 3: be meet for the birds, vultures are gonna be eating
- 10:41Speaker 3: these young babies, right, birds of heaven and the beast
- 10:49Speaker 3: of the earth. All right, now, let's break it down right,
- 10:55Speaker 3: Like I said, he told them not to marry, and
- 10:59Speaker 3: he told Jerem Maya not to have children. Now, I
- 11:01Speaker 3: believe that this was an act of mercy on God's
- 11:05Speaker 3: part because of what is about to take place. He
- 11:09Speaker 3: didn't want his prophet to be so overwhelmed with grief
- 11:13Speaker 3: or heartbroken seeing his children slain in the street. Now,
- 11:23Speaker 3: he told him not to marry, not because it was wrong,
- 11:26Speaker 3: but if you look at scripture, God honors marriage. God
- 11:33Speaker 3: has always honored marriage, and God honors the married bed,
- 11:40Speaker 3: the marriage bed. Right. He doesn't want us to have
- 11:45Speaker 3: relations sexual relations outside of marriage. Marriage is honorable above
- 11:50Speaker 3: all things. Right, But he told Jeremiah not to get married.
- 11:59Speaker 3: The coming judgment would bring such a devastation to families,
- 12:06Speaker 3: and they would experience this to the point where being
- 12:12Speaker 3: unmarried was a gift. Like I said, God spared Jeremiah
- 12:20Speaker 3: this tragedy, and also his singleness became a prophetic sign.
- 12:27Speaker 3: It became a message for the nation. Now, sometimes God
- 12:32Speaker 3: calls different people to different assignments. Now, we shouldn't compare
- 12:39Speaker 3: our calling with somebody else's calling. Faithfulness means obeying God's
- 12:45Speaker 3: specific purpose for our lives. Right, what God has called
- 12:51Speaker 3: me to do may not be the same thing that
- 12:54Speaker 3: God has called you to do, And we shouldn't compare
- 12:58Speaker 3: apples or oranges. Right five through seven. For us says
- 13:03Speaker 3: the Lord, do not enter the house of mourning, nor
- 13:08Speaker 3: go to lament or become bemoan them, For I have
- 13:13Speaker 3: taken away my peace from them. Now, when God takes
- 13:17Speaker 3: away his peace, it automatically becomes hell.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:23Speaker 3: When God takes away something, Hell moves in and replaces
- 13:28Speaker 3: what God has taken away. That's why we need to
- 13:32Speaker 3: bring prayer back into our schools. That's why we need
- 13:35Speaker 3: to bring the Ten Commandments back into the courthouse. Before
- 13:40Speaker 3: God takes away his peace from our nation. My peace
- 13:46Speaker 3: from this people, says the Lord. Loving kindness and mercies. Woo.
- 13:53Speaker 3: We don't want God to take away his loving kindness
- 13:55Speaker 3: nor his mercies. Both the great and the small shall
- 14:00Speaker 3: die in this place.
- 14:04Speaker 1: See.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Now, this is the side of guy that we really
- 14:06Speaker 3: need to look at, We really need to learn. They
- 14:09Speaker 3: shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them,
- 14:14Speaker 3: cut themselves or make themselves bald for them. Now this
- 14:20Speaker 3: was a way of mourning. They would put on sackcloth
- 14:23Speaker 3: and ashes, they would shave their heads, and they would
- 14:27Speaker 3: start cutting themselves to mourn after people or family members
- 14:33Speaker 3: who have passed away. Nor shall men break bread in
- 14:38Speaker 3: mourning for them to comfort them for the dead. Nor
- 14:43Speaker 3: shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink
- 14:49Speaker 3: for their father or for their mother. I told you
- 14:56Speaker 3: that this is going to be difficult, that this was
- 14:58Speaker 3: going to be this this is okay. Let's break it down,
- 15:05Speaker 3: all right. So he tells Jeremia not to enter the
- 15:08Speaker 3: houses of the people who are mourning. Right, So normally
- 15:11Speaker 3: comforting grieving families was an important part of Jewish community,
- 15:19Speaker 3: and that's an important part of ministry. By the way,
- 15:24Speaker 3: my mother passed away, I thank you for your prayers,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and so we're going through the process right now. I'm
- 15:32Speaker 3: heading back to Michigan so that I could comfort my
- 15:36Speaker 3: family members and my loved ones right now. So the
- 15:54Speaker 3: time is going to come where judgment is going to
- 15:57Speaker 3: be so widespread that normal mourning rituals would cease. These
- 16:06Speaker 3: things would I don't know, They'll just be too distracted
- 16:10Speaker 3: or too overwhelmed or devastated. The people have rejected God's
- 16:17Speaker 3: compassion for years now they would experience the consequences of
- 16:24Speaker 3: that rejection. God's patience is incredible, but it shall never
- 16:33Speaker 3: be taken for granted. Aymen, The Bible says that my
- 16:42Speaker 3: spirit will not strive with man forever. Every time God
- 16:49Speaker 3: warns us, at the same time, it's an invitation for
- 16:54Speaker 3: us to repent. Whenever we receive a warning from God,
- 17:01Speaker 3: it's always accompanied by an invitation for us to repent,
- 17:09Speaker 3: to get it right, to change our lives. Amen. All right,
- 17:15Speaker 3: let's pick it up verse eight through nine. And also
- 17:18Speaker 3: you shall not go into the house of feasting, to
- 17:23Speaker 3: sit with them, to eat or drink. For Thus says
- 17:28Speaker 3: the Lord of Host, the God of Israel. Behold, I
- 17:32Speaker 3: will cause to cease from this place before your eyes
- 17:38Speaker 3: and your days. The voice of mirth, and the voice
- 17:43Speaker 3: of gladness, the voice of bride broom, the voice of
- 17:49Speaker 3: the bride. Wow. So God is telling Jeremiah don't celebrate.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Jeremiah is told not to attend a feast, a wedding,
- 18:07Speaker 3: or any type of celebration, a birthday party or whatever.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I don't know if they had those back then, but
- 18:13Speaker 3: any type of celebration, Jeremiah is not to attend. You see,
- 18:21Speaker 3: joyful occasions would soon disappear because of their own rebellion.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Could you imagine in our country weddings and gatherings, family reunions.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I mean, I live in Las Vegas, and so this
- 18:43Speaker 3: town is built on tourism, people coming together having a
- 18:48Speaker 3: good time, having a great experience. That would all cease,
- 18:55Speaker 3: and beloved, that could happen to this nation if we
- 18:59Speaker 3: don't want to get right with God. The sounds of
- 19:08Speaker 3: celebration would be replaced with silence. Now this isn't because
- 19:16Speaker 3: God dislikes joy and celebration. Or anything like that, But
- 19:20Speaker 3: rather it was showing that sin eventually steals the very
- 19:25Speaker 3: things that people cherish. Remember the Bible said Satan comes
- 19:31Speaker 3: to steal, kill, and destroy. Just think about it. The
- 19:36Speaker 3: next time you are tempted to sin, think about what
- 19:40Speaker 3: that sin will steal and take away from you. You
- 19:45Speaker 3: would lose something, you would be a lesser of a
- 19:47Speaker 3: person afterwards. Sometimes there's consequences that will never go away
- 19:58Speaker 3: when we compromising sin. Sin will always promise happiness but
- 20:08Speaker 3: ultimately produces loss. Only God can produce lasting joy in
- 20:15Speaker 3: our lives. Oh man, amen, excuse me. Only God can
- 20:20Speaker 3: produce the lasting joy that our hearts long for Verse ten.
- 20:31Speaker 3: And it shall be when you show this people all
- 20:35Speaker 3: these words, and they say to you, why has the
- 20:39Speaker 3: Lord pronounced all this great disaster against us? Or what
- 20:45Speaker 3: is our iniquity? And what is our sin that we
- 20:48Speaker 3: have committed against the Lord, our God? That you shall
- 20:53Speaker 3: say to them, because your fathers have forsaken me, says
- 20:57Speaker 3: the Lord. They have walked after us other gods and
- 21:01Speaker 3: have served them and worshiped them, and have forsaken me
- 21:06Speaker 3: and not kept my law. Now that's key. On the
- 21:12Speaker 3: day of judgment, we will be judged by the law,
- 21:18Speaker 3: or in other words, we will be judged by God's word.
- 21:22Speaker 3: God's word is set in the universe forever. And so
- 21:28Speaker 3: how do you handle the word of God? Do you
- 21:32Speaker 3: seek to obey it? Or do you just pass it
- 21:36Speaker 3: off lightly like it's nothing and just do your own thing? Right,
- 21:42Speaker 3: We're gonna read it as we finish this out verse twelve,
- 21:48Speaker 3: And you have done worse than your father's For behold,
- 21:54Speaker 3: each one follows the dictates of his own evil heart,
- 22:00Speaker 3: so that no one listens to me. Now, this is
- 22:04Speaker 3: what I've said that if anything else through this book,
- 22:07Speaker 3: this right here has truly impacted my life. I have
- 22:14Speaker 3: become more aware, more sensitive, and monitor monitor. My heart
- 22:21Speaker 3: even more is heightened because of this book. And and
- 22:27Speaker 3: then that's why we push the accountability Partner segment on
- 22:34Speaker 3: this podcast, because he's always brought out. The reason is
- 22:38Speaker 3: we follow the evil dictates of our own hearts, so
- 22:41Speaker 3: we don't listen to him but love it. We cannot
- 22:45Speaker 3: take Guy's word lightly, We can't. We have to put
- 22:53Speaker 3: our hearts in check and submit and surrender to God's
- 22:57Speaker 3: word in our heart. It all takes place on the inside,
- 23:01Speaker 3: not hourly ourardly is just religion. People who show up
- 23:05Speaker 3: to church in their life doesn't change. God is looking
- 23:09Speaker 3: for reform from the inside verse thirteen. Therefore, I will
- 23:15Speaker 3: cast you out of this land into a land that
- 23:19Speaker 3: you do not know, neither nor your father's, And there
- 23:27Speaker 3: you shall serve other guys day and night, where I
- 23:31Speaker 3: will not show you favor. Belove it. We need God's favor.
- 23:39Speaker 3: We need God's peace, We need God's love. We need
- 23:44Speaker 3: everything we can get from God. Amen. Now let's break
- 23:53Speaker 3: it down again. Now God tells your a, Maya, that
- 23:59Speaker 3: the people will ask why has the Lord pronounced all
- 24:03Speaker 3: this great disaster against us? Notice something interesting in this question? Right,
- 24:12Speaker 3: Instead of asking what have we done wrong? They asked
- 24:17Speaker 3: why is God doing this? Many people still ask this
- 24:23Speaker 3: question today. They asked a question, and they question God,
- 24:31Speaker 3: and they question him about his justice. Right, they question
- 24:38Speaker 3: his justice without examining their own hearts and lives. Before
- 24:44Speaker 3: asking God and why God allows hardship, we should be
- 24:51Speaker 3: asking whether He is trying to teach us something as
- 24:56Speaker 3: we are going through this hardship, trying to bring us
- 25:00Speaker 3: to repentance, hey man. And so, after asking the people
- 25:10Speaker 3: in verse ten why God was bringing such severe judgment
- 25:16Speaker 3: upon them. God now gives Jeremiah the answer to share
- 25:21Speaker 3: with them. Right, then you shall say to them, because
- 25:27Speaker 3: your fathers have forsaken me, says the Lord. They have
- 25:32Speaker 3: walked after other gods, and have served them and worshiped them,
- 25:37Speaker 3: and have forsaken me and not kept my law. God
- 25:42Speaker 3: begins by pointing to Israel's history. Now this wasn't a
- 25:49Speaker 3: new problem, right. Their ancestors had repeatedly turned away from him,
- 25:56Speaker 3: choosing to worship idols instead of remaining faithful to their covenant. Now,
- 26:04Speaker 3: notice this progression. They walked after other gods, then they
- 26:08Speaker 3: served other gods, they worshiped other gods. They forsook the
- 26:14Speaker 3: True and Living God, and they ignored him. That is
- 26:21Speaker 3: a horrible pattern to undergo. Now, sin rarely begins with
- 26:28Speaker 3: our word rebellion. It often starts by following the wrong influences, right,
- 26:37Speaker 3: which leads to serving them and then giving them our
- 26:41Speaker 3: devotion and finally abandoning Guy's commands all together. Now, ask yourself,
- 26:50Speaker 3: what am I following. Whatever consistently captures your attention, affection,
- 26:58Speaker 3: and obedience has the potential to become an idle. Today,
- 27:07Speaker 3: idols may not look like carved statues. Right, we don't
- 27:11Speaker 3: build them and make them. We don't build a statue
- 27:14Speaker 3: and bound down to them in our living rooms. At
- 27:17Speaker 3: least we haven't done it for years. But idols can
- 27:24Speaker 3: be money, and idol can be success, relationships, entertainment, social media,
- 27:32Speaker 3: even our own ambitions. If they take God's place in
- 27:38Speaker 3: our heart. Hey man, and it says that they have
- 27:47Speaker 3: done worse than their fathers. Behold, each one of you
- 27:52Speaker 3: followed the dictate of their own evil heart. So they
- 27:58Speaker 3: do not listen to me. Now, this isn't.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 28:03Speaker 3: This verse is startling. Right here, God says the current
- 28:08Speaker 3: generation has become even worse than those before them. Instead
- 28:14Speaker 3: of learning from history, they repeat it and they intensify it.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Now the key phrase is each one follows the dictates
- 28:27Speaker 3: of his own evil heart. They weren't simply making occasional mistakes, right,
- 28:37Speaker 3: They had made themselves the authority over right and wrong.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Rather than asking God, what is your will? What do
- 28:47Speaker 3: you desire? In this situation? They asked what do I want?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Instead of what God wants? See that's something good, that's
- 28:58Speaker 3: good to write down in our ernals. A rea asking
- 29:01Speaker 3: what we want or are re asking God? Does what
- 29:04Speaker 3: do he want? This is one of the clearest Biblical
- 29:08Speaker 3: warnings against making personal feelings the standard for truth. Right.
- 29:16Speaker 3: The chapter ends with a heartbreaking statement, no one listens
- 29:22Speaker 3: to me. The greatest problem wasn't no ignorance. It wasn't
- 29:29Speaker 3: like they didn't know. It was their unwillingness to listen
- 29:34Speaker 3: to God. Our culture even today office says follow your heart,
- 29:42Speaker 3: But the Bible warns us that in unsubmitted heart can
- 29:47Speaker 3: lead us away from God. Followers of Christ are called
- 29:53Speaker 3: to let God's word shape their heart rather than allowing
- 29:57Speaker 3: their hearts to shape our own beliefs. And this is dangerous.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Beloved, you're listening to his hop radio, where faith, hope,
- 30:08Speaker 1: and hip hop unite to glory.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Amen. I'll push your wrong buton aymen, all right, one
- 30:20Speaker 3: more verse. We're gonna break it down because this is good.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I'm not rushing through it today. Verse thirteen. Therefore, I
- 30:31Speaker 3: will cast you out of the land into a land
- 30:34Speaker 3: that you do not know, neither nor your fathers. There
- 30:40Speaker 3: you shall serve other guys day and night, where I
- 30:44Speaker 3: will not show you favor. Oh man, we need the
- 30:48Speaker 3: favor of God. The Book of Proverbs tells us the
- 30:51Speaker 3: favor of God is more valuable than silver and gold,
- 30:56Speaker 3: the very thing that people chase after money and finances.
- 31:03Speaker 3: But God's favor is more valuable than even those. Right now,
- 31:08Speaker 3: because the people continually chose other gods, God gave them
- 31:15Speaker 3: over to the consequences of their choices. They careful what
- 31:22Speaker 3: we are choosing over God. Amen. They wanted the nations
- 31:30Speaker 3: more than they wanted him. They wanted to be like
- 31:34Speaker 3: the other nations and serve their gods. Now they would
- 31:42Speaker 3: live amongst those nations. They're gonna get exactly what they wanted.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Exile wasn't merely just a punishment for them. It was
- 31:53Speaker 3: the natural outcome of years of rejecting God's covenant. Now
- 32:01Speaker 3: this is deeply ironic. Here they insisted on serving idols
- 32:07Speaker 3: in Judah. Now they would be surrounded by idol worship
- 32:12Speaker 3: in a foreign land. You see how that plays out now.
- 32:19Speaker 3: The phrase where I will not show you favor highlights
- 32:24Speaker 3: the loss of covenant blessing they had long taken for granted.
- 32:32Speaker 3: The very thing we take for granted will be the
- 32:35Speaker 3: very thing we long for once it's gone. Amen. Now,
- 32:43Speaker 3: every choice moves us closer to God, or we can
- 32:48Speaker 3: move us further away from God every single choice. God
- 32:58Speaker 3: will not force obedience. The God will invite us to obey.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Now when we continue reject his direction and eventually experience
- 33:12Speaker 3: the consequences of walking away and doing our own thing.
- 33:17Speaker 3: The good news is that throughout Jeremiah, God's discipline is
- 33:22Speaker 3: never with final word. His ultimate desire is repentance, restoration,
- 33:30Speaker 3: and renewed fellowship with his people. And I'm thankful that
- 33:36Speaker 3: that is always God's heart. God's heart is always fellowship Now.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Jeremiah sixteen through thirteen teachers that every generation is responsible
- 33:51Speaker 3: for its own response to God. Well, we may inherit
- 33:57Speaker 3: the influence of those before us, we are not destined
- 34:05Speaker 3: to repeat their mistakes.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:09Speaker 3: God calls each of us to reject the idols of
- 34:13Speaker 3: our culture and to listen to His word and to
- 34:17Speaker 3: walk faithfully in His way. Hey, man, just think about
- 34:29Speaker 3: our culture today. How many are rebelling against God, especially
- 34:39Speaker 3: the music industry. We see Satanism on the rise. We
- 34:44Speaker 3: see devil worship on the rise. We see witchcraft on
- 34:49Speaker 3: the rise in this generation. We see it. But God
- 34:53Speaker 3: begins to withdraw his hand in his peace. Then there's
- 34:58Speaker 3: no choice but darkness to flood the land, so we
- 35:03Speaker 3: need to stay in God's favor A man, all right,
- 35:07Speaker 3: let's take a break.
- 35:08Speaker 4: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 35:12Speaker 4: is the hiss hop radio show.

- 36:21Speaker 5: know about sending prayers up to God? Feel like they missed?
- 36:24Speaker 5: What should know about having faith? If I use my
- 36:25Speaker 5: eyes that don't exist? What should know about talking to God?
- 36:28Speaker 5: And you're trying to hold that cause you Yeah, what
- 36:33Speaker 5: you know about turning ms down to living in your
- 36:35Speaker 5: parents' crib? What you know about being hungry that for
- 36:37Speaker 5: winning on my ribs? What you know about losing friends?
- 36:40Speaker 5: He not cut the way I ars? What you know
- 36:42Speaker 5: about being humble under God?
- 36:43Speaker 3: To grind?
- 36:44Speaker 5: I kiss?
- 36:52Speaker 4: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 36:56Speaker 4: is the Hiss Hop radio show.
- 37:18Speaker 3: All right, we are back from the break that was
- 37:22Speaker 3: humble before God. Yeah, I'm a little slow on the
- 37:25Speaker 3: buttons today, but that's all right, what you know about it.
- 37:30Speaker 3: For our musical break today, I'm your host, mister hiss Hot,
- 37:35Speaker 3: and I want to give a shout out to the
- 37:37Speaker 3: live chat. Shout out to my brother's Zoom three once
- 37:41Speaker 3: again the trivia champion. And you know what, brother, this
- 37:48Speaker 3: is about to pay off. Your faithfulness to the Life
- 37:51Speaker 3: Chat is about to pay off in a major way.
- 37:55Speaker 3: I got some great announcements coming up, and we'll do
- 37:57Speaker 3: that when we get to the community shout out segment.
- 38:01Speaker 3: But right now, it's time for the accountability partner. Head
- 38:04Speaker 3: on over to the life Chat so you can read
- 38:07Speaker 3: the challenge for today. And these challenges are so that
- 38:12Speaker 3: we can put it in place. It's like a safeguard.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Make sure you call your person, text email them and
- 38:20Speaker 3: ask them these questions right, ask them. Is there an
- 38:26Speaker 3: area where God has been asking me to obey but
- 38:31Speaker 3: I've been resisting because it requires personal sacrifice. That's a
- 38:37Speaker 3: big one. This is my struggle. I'll be transparent. I'll
- 38:42Speaker 3: be transparent. I have a hard time fasting because it
- 38:47Speaker 3: requires personal sacrifice. Sometimes I struggle with my finances. Sometimes
- 38:53Speaker 3: it feels like the ends aren't gonna meet. And there's
- 38:56Speaker 3: been times where I fail to pay my ten percent.
- 38:59Speaker 3: I will admit that and be transparent. Right, That's the
- 39:03Speaker 3: only way we get healed is if we're honest with
- 39:06Speaker 3: each other. Sometimes I don't feel like praying. Sometimes I
- 39:09Speaker 3: just want to binge on Netflix all day and not
- 39:14Speaker 3: get in my prayer closet or not getting the word.
- 39:17Speaker 3: There's been times, but God has been speaking to me
- 39:20Speaker 3: more and more about sacrifice. Sacrifice needs to be a
- 39:25Speaker 3: part of our walk with the Lord. We are unprofitable servants,
- 39:31Speaker 3: we are the ones just think about everything that He sacrificed.
- 39:36Speaker 3: He gave it all. How come we can't lay down
- 39:40Speaker 3: some of these earthly guilty pleasures right in order to
- 39:47Speaker 3: go deeper in our relationship. And it says also to
- 39:52Speaker 3: pray together for courage to trust God's plan. Sometimes we
- 39:57Speaker 3: just need the courage to trust Him. And if you're
- 40:02Speaker 3: out there listen to this podcast, please send a couple
- 40:05Speaker 3: of prayers up for me. Heymen. So these are some
- 40:08Speaker 3: of the areas where I've struggled with all. Right, let's
- 40:17Speaker 3: head on over to the Life Chad once again for
- 40:20Speaker 3: our trivia challenge. Or we should say that his Bible
- 40:25Speaker 3: scholarly challenge. Right now here is the question and Jeremiah
- 40:33Speaker 3: sixteen to five, What three reasons does God give for
- 40:39Speaker 3: telling Jeremiah not to enter the House of mourning? Let
- 40:46Speaker 3: me say that again, what three reasons did God give
- 40:51Speaker 3: to telling Jeremiah not to enter the House of the morning.
- 41:00Speaker 3: So we're looking for three answers, three words, and the
- 41:06Speaker 3: first to give it will be the trivia champ right
- 41:11Speaker 3: now zone. You got it, my brother, you got the
- 41:14Speaker 3: question yesterday. We also want to let you know that
- 41:23Speaker 3: his Hot Radio is a monitored in a reporting radio station.
- 41:29Speaker 3: If you have new music you want to get it
- 41:30Speaker 3: out there, you have a project. Heading over to our
- 41:34Speaker 3: website his Hot nation dot com and hit that submissions
- 41:40Speaker 3: tab and check out. Our promo package is very affordable,
- 41:46Speaker 3: it won't break the bank, and we want to help
- 41:49Speaker 3: you get that exposure. We do monitor, we do chart
- 41:53Speaker 3: the music, so you will have the information that you
- 41:58Speaker 3: need to show how you're new music is doing. All right,
- 42:06Speaker 3: now it's time for the community shout out. This is
- 42:12Speaker 3: one of my favorite segments because I get to give
- 42:14Speaker 3: updates and let everyone know about what we got going
- 42:18Speaker 3: and what's coming up. Well, first, of all, I want
- 42:22Speaker 3: to say that our next event is August twenty ninth.
- 42:27Speaker 3: We will be at the Resort World Yours truly will
- 42:30Speaker 3: be on the ones in twoes. I will be spending
- 42:33Speaker 3: music on that day, and this is going to be
- 42:40Speaker 3: a business mixer, so it's not necessarily a concert, even
- 42:46Speaker 3: though I will be bringing the music I would bring
- 42:48Speaker 3: in the podcast. I'll be working with other radio stations,
- 42:52Speaker 3: but we're supposed to have some very influential people I'm
- 42:56Speaker 3: talking about in the business world in Las Vegas in
- 42:58Speaker 3: the place. So if you are struggling financially, or if
- 43:04Speaker 3: you're trying to get a side hustle, or if you're
- 43:07Speaker 3: trying to figure out how to break the poverty cycle,
- 43:10Speaker 3: things like that, your network is important. To come network
- 43:19Speaker 3: and just nothing else. Learn, get the information that you
- 43:22Speaker 3: need and come say hi to your brother mister hiss
- 43:25Speaker 3: Hop at our next event, and we will be posting
- 43:32Speaker 3: that on our website. And also what I'm excited about
- 43:39Speaker 3: and what I wanted to I mentioned to Zoom three
- 43:42Speaker 3: about it will pay off to be active in that life.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Chat is because I just had a meeting with this
- 43:50Speaker 3: amazing organization that works with radio stations so what does
- 43:58Speaker 3: that mean. That means is that I signed a contract
- 44:03Speaker 3: and I'm gonna be onboarding with this company this Friday
- 44:09Speaker 3: to be able to access their services. Because you guys,
- 44:14Speaker 3: listen faithfully to the podcast, you're gonna get the first
- 44:19Speaker 3: You're gonna be the first ones that get this information.
- 44:21Speaker 3: You're gonna get a head start above everyone. And trust me,
- 44:24Speaker 3: you're gonna be happy you did. So what this organization
- 44:30Speaker 3: is gonna help sponsor us to do is we're able
- 44:35Speaker 3: to put on more contests through the radio station. Now,
- 44:43Speaker 3: they're gonna give us a three month trial. So I
- 44:45Speaker 3: need everyone on board. I need everyone participating because this
- 44:49Speaker 3: is gonna be great for the community. Now anyone in
- 44:52Speaker 3: the country can participate. You don't have to just be
- 44:56Speaker 3: local in Las Vegas. And so we're gonna be doing
- 45:00Speaker 3: in contests things like paying your mortgage or your rent
- 45:04Speaker 3: for one whole year. Yes, you heard it right. His
- 45:08Speaker 3: Hot Radio is now able to pay your mortgage or
- 45:13Speaker 3: your rent for one year. And also we're going to
- 45:18Speaker 3: be doing something with football, right and so if you're
- 45:27Speaker 3: able to guess who's going to win or things like that,
- 45:32Speaker 3: and this is not gambling at all, This is not
- 45:34Speaker 3: fantasy football, but if you're able to guess who's winning
- 45:39Speaker 3: and update the information and things like that, you will
- 45:43Speaker 3: be able to win fifty thousand dollars for football season.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Then the third thing we're gonna be able to do,
- 45:55Speaker 3: we're going to do our own little thing. We're gonna
- 46:01Speaker 3: come up with it. Now, these are sponsored by the organization,
- 46:04Speaker 3: but His Hot Radio itself, they're gonna help us, but
- 46:09Speaker 3: this is gonna involve a little more footwork on our part.
- 46:14Speaker 3: We're gonna offer something like I don't know, maybe the
- 46:17Speaker 3: question of the day or say something in live chat,
- 46:20Speaker 3: or maybe even the trivia challenge whoever wins the trivia challenge.
- 46:25Speaker 3: And then we're gonna get with local businesses that will
- 46:29Speaker 3: sponsor it and we'll be able to give out things
- 46:33Speaker 3: like free haircuts or maybe I don't know, we're gonna
- 46:37Speaker 3: try to talk to car dealerships, maybe a discount on
- 46:40Speaker 3: a car, maybe they want to give away a car
- 46:42Speaker 3: or something like that. But there's gonna be we're gonna
- 46:46Speaker 3: up our game on our contest. And I already created
- 46:50Speaker 3: a page because we do have some in place already.
- 46:54Speaker 3: So if you go to his Hot Radio, you're gonna
- 46:56Speaker 3: notice that the menus have changed a little bit and
- 46:59Speaker 3: the menu are now there's a page called Contest. You
- 47:03Speaker 3: can go and click on it and you can see
- 47:05Speaker 3: what we got running. You're not gonna see these newly
- 47:08Speaker 3: updated things because I haven't been onboarded yet and that
- 47:13Speaker 3: will take place this Friday, So definitely come back Friday.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Anytime after Friday, check out our contest page and it
- 47:23Speaker 3: could pay big time for our community to be active.
- 47:29Speaker 3: We're gonna have flyers and promos videos promoting this and please,
- 47:34Speaker 3: I'm asking you, guys, amassing for support from our community
- 47:39Speaker 3: and our family. I know there's hundreds of people that
- 47:42Speaker 3: listen to this podcast. We're asking you to log into
- 47:46Speaker 3: the life Chat and we're asking you to help us
- 47:49Speaker 3: and to participate with these contests. Not being a zone
- 47:53Speaker 3: is gonna win all the money, which I don't Hey,
- 47:56Speaker 3: you know, I don't think he'll mind that at all. Amen.
- 48:04Speaker 3: All right, So that's exciting. We're going to be giving
- 48:06Speaker 3: updates about that coming up soon. And is how Nation
- 48:12Speaker 3: is a five oh one C three a nonprofit organization.
- 48:15Speaker 3: We opened up a Christian club back in twenty twelve
- 48:21Speaker 3: and we're looking to relaunch and we open again. We
- 48:23Speaker 3: need support from our community. Five dollars a month, ten
- 48:28Speaker 3: dollars a month, anything will help. And the cool thing
- 48:34Speaker 3: about it, it is all a tax. Right off. Some
- 48:37Speaker 3: people owe taxes because they don't have enough things are
- 48:42Speaker 3: right off. Well, you can do something positive in our community,
- 48:46Speaker 3: and you can also write off, write it off on
- 48:52Speaker 3: your taxes in the same process. Amen. All right, Well,
- 48:57Speaker 3: that's my time, and I got some closing remarks before
- 49:01Speaker 3: we get out of here. Jeremiah sixteen reminds us that
- 49:04Speaker 3: following God isn't always easy. Sometimes obedience ask us to
- 49:09Speaker 3: make sacrifices that others may not understand. Right, Jeremiah's life
- 49:17Speaker 3: became a living message to the nation, a testimony that
- 49:21Speaker 3: God's word is worth obeying, even when it comes to
- 49:26Speaker 3: a personal cost. Right, even when there's a personal sacrifice,
- 49:33Speaker 3: a personal cost. Now, the same is true for today.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Whether God calls us to serve quietly or to speak boldly,
- 49:42Speaker 3: or to sacrifice something precious to us, we can trust
- 49:47Speaker 3: that His plans are always good and His purposes are
- 49:52Speaker 3: always greater than our own. So don't measure your life
- 49:57Speaker 3: by comfort, right, measure your life by your faithfulness onto God.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Hey man, so stay in the word, stay faithful, live
- 50:10Speaker 3: set apart for God's glory, and remember it's not about us,
- 50:16Speaker 3: It's all about the Christ in us. See y'all in
- 50:20Speaker 3: the next episode.
- 50:28Speaker 4: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 50:32Speaker 4: is the Hiss Hop Radio Show.
