- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: in the Kingdom of God, we find a culture different from that of our world.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: We are often taught to be self-made, pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, and that it's the survival of the fittest.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: God's Kingdom turns these principles on their head.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: We are encouraged to wait, trust, and receive from our God who supplies for our every need.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Does your life mimic one of trust and waiting?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: One of open hands in thankfulness.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Today as we move forward in our week of God being our father, we'll look at his provisional nature.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: As we learn of God's intentions to meet our every need, open your heart today to trust in this God whose our provider.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 4, verse 19, Scripture says, and my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: In Matthew chapter 6, verses 25 through 33, Jesus says, therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Look at the birds of the air.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet you're heavenly Father feeds them.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Are you not of more value than they?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: and why are you anxious about clothing?
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: They neither toil nor spin.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yet I tell you, even Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of these.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: But if God so clothed the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven,
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Will he not much more cloth you, O you of little faith?
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, what shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Your Heavenly Father is the great provider for all the earth.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: He gives a reign when the earth needs refreshment.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: He calls the sun from its hiding when the earth needs warmth.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: He gives to the animals their food, the flowers, their beauty, the birds, their shelter, and you and me everything we need.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: We worship a God who is both loving and powerful.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: He is both omnipotent and omnipresent.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: He is both good and able.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: If he were not, we would be forced to fend for ourselves, striving for that which he has promised to provide.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: If he were only good, we would not be assured
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: And if he were only able, we would fear for a lack of his desire to provide.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: But God is our Heavenly Father, who both knows what we need and longs to provide for us in exceeding measures.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: He is our creator and sustainer, the Lord of all and Lord in all.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you stress over the foundational cares of this life while your Heavenly Father is seated on his throne?
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: The truth is that until we experience for ourselves both the goodness and power of our Heavenly Father, the truth of his provision will only ever feel like a heady theological principle.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Until we experience first-hand the character in provision of our God, fear will remain.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: 1 John 4 verse 18 says, there is no fear in love, but perfect love, cast out fear.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: God longs to perfect you in His love today.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: He longs to guide you into an encounter with His goodness and power.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: He longs to establish a foundation of His faithfulness by which you can live in faith.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: May you have a transformative encounter with the Holy Spirit today,

- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: next.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Where do you have fear in regards to provision?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Where are you striving for what God has already promised to provide?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Where does God want to bring peace into your life today?
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: and last.
