Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: But let's see where we're at with the state of emergency.
- 0:02Speaker 1: As of last night, at least fifteen hundred properties didn't
- 0:04Speaker 1: have power still on the East coast. Of course, Ben
- 0:06Speaker 1: Green Civil Events Emergency Management Group manager in Gisbon is
- 0:09Speaker 1: where there's been morning to you. Are you going to
- 0:13Speaker 1: read from around the region or you justin Gisbon.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Just well, we cover the whole region. It's been a
- 0:22Speaker 2: see surprising, you know, as pretty wild what spell whether
- 0:28Speaker 2: we had come in the other night, I mean, as
- 0:30Speaker 2: the wind really was probably the really real thing that
- 0:33Speaker 2: typified the difference between the other events. But yesterday, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 2: we did have the river levels that credit the evacuations
- 0:42Speaker 2: and a couple of the catchments. But surprisingly, you know,
- 0:46Speaker 2: we haven't got the physical damage that we've probably thought
- 0:50Speaker 2: it'd be dealing with or coming through East good but certainly,
- 0:55Speaker 2: you know, the challenge we with the wind is obviously
- 0:57Speaker 2: the power lines and just a signif got a number
- 1:00Speaker 2: of trees down across the roads and networks.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So basically what you're dealing with, you're dealing with a
- 1:05Speaker 1: clean up today now.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yes, and you know we had obviously just before this event,
- 1:12Speaker 2: the weather of the weekend and the city and we
- 1:17Speaker 2: need to get to the city in some of the greast strife.
- 1:19Speaker 2: That's seven percent of our population is in one area.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So the sewer and the wastewater system was already fully
- 1:27Speaker 2: charged before we went into the let's be with event,
- 1:32Speaker 2: and that's really weird. You have surd issues backing up
- 1:36Speaker 2: and some areas of schools can operate and it just
- 1:40Speaker 2: needs time, simple whether to help that sort of relieve
- 1:43Speaker 2: the pressure from the wastewater in that serio system.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Okay, forecast they're saying some showers that the weather's largely through.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Is that fair or not?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, we were back. I would like to think some
- 1:54Speaker 2: of the great normal winter weather our rivers and you
- 1:58Speaker 2: can see some of our cameras there. It's just the
- 2:01Speaker 2: volume is its intensity of the short time frames, and
- 2:04Speaker 2: it's really we start seeing things start falling apart quite quickly.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Exactly. All right, Ben, I'm glad to have caught up
- 2:10Speaker 1: with you. Appreciate it very much. Being Green for more
