Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to another episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: I am Mickey.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: I'm your host.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: And joining me today is my co-host, Bethany.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: And we are going to dive right in to sharing the Word of God with you today.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: And what we've been doing in the last few episodes is we started a series asking you a question.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: And that question is, are you ready for eternity?
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: So that is the question.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: Are you ready?
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: We will, we, but Bethany and I both want to know.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: We have been talking about eternity in a different um, kind of in a different realm, but just trying to shed light on it.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: And um just so that that it's something that you keep in your mind.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: And it's a it's a very important question to ask yourself.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: We need to make sure that we are ready.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Um, so we have already we've already done three parts already to this series.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Um we're working on this part today, and we're going to go back and recap a little bit with you.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: And Bethany's gonna jump in here and say hello and kind of tell you what what we've already discussed, and kind of if you haven't watched those episodes, go back and watch them.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Um but for today, she's just gonna shine a little bit of light on to um what you've what you've already missed up to this point.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: So, Bethany, welcome in.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Great to be here.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Um, this series has been in parts, parts one, two, and three.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Um, we've looked at the urgency of the question.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: We've looked at the difference between the little place of hell, which is temporary, and also the lake of fire, which is permanent.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: And those places I I don't know why anyone would want to go to either of them.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Um we you know, we experience wildfires throughout different parts of the US and even the world, I believe, has various wildfires.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Compare that to the place of hell, compare that to the lake of fire, which the Bible does give descriptions on those two places, which we have covered.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't understand why anyone would want to go there.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: And so that's what we've talked about.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: We've talked about as I said, the urgency, the difference.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Um in part three, we focus more on some of the other scripture that talks about hell and the lake of fire, and now today we are going to focus once again on just some some more scripture that talks about being ready.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Um because we don't know when our time here on earth will be done.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: How often do we hear about various individuals who have died suddenly?
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And Mickey, I don't know about you, but whenever I hear about individuals who have died, one of my first thoughts is where are they?
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: Because that is reality, and I'm not meaning to fear monger or anything like that.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to help us to get ready to be thinking about are we ready?
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Are you ready for eternity?
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: And so that's that's just a small recap from my view of the first three parts of this, and as Mickey said, um feel free to go back if you've missed any of those and um watch them, listen to them intently, and ask the Lord to show you what he has for you from those.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Because I do believe that the Lord has spoken to me and I as we do these episodes, so the Lord is speaking to us, and he has something for you.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Are you listening?
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Are you asking him to show you what he has?
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: And so, um, McGee, would you like me to pray and get into it?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Or do you have no?
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: I agree, I I agree with everything so far.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, that that we've talked about.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: I do I do know that we have um we we don't want to fear monger, but there is an urgency.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: And um it's our desire, and it's God's desire as well.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, his word says that um that none should perish.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: And so as Christians, as believers in God um and what Jesus did on the cross, it's actually um we are kind of obligated to share the word of God with people.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: And um the scripture even tells us to go and share the gospels, to share the good news, to share.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: And sometimes when we think about you know, eternity, um, if you're going to hell or the lake of fire, it's probably not going to sound like good news to you.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: But when you hear the gospel and you're a Christian, it's nothing but great news.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: It's exciting.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, we will get to spend the rest of our life with God and Jesus and all of those who've gone before us.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: And but all of those that don't make it, we don't get to spend time with him ever again.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: The ones that have already passed on.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: And I agree with you, Bethany, when you said um when someone passes away, the very first thought in my mind literally is, I wonder where they went, you know.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: Are they in hell or are they are they present with the Lord?
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: Because the scripture says that you're in one of those two places when you die.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Our body goes into the ground and our spirit either goes to one of those two places.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: And I always wonder, you know, because in the back of our mind, we we want to hope that everyone goes to, you know, to heaven, but not everyone will.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: And I know that the Bible talks about how surprised we're gonna be on judgment day when people are cast to the lake of fire.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Because we're gonna see people that we thought um we thought were good are gonna go to hell.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: But the thing is, is being good doesn't get you there.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: That's not the ticket.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: Eternity does it come with a oh, I've been I've been a good girl or I've been a good boy card.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: You know, like you get in sk elementary school when you're in kindergarten and you're growing up and and or you get a promotion from work because you've been good at your job.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: It's not that kind of it's not that kind of goodness.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Righteousness is a completely different type of goodness when it comes to God.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: So I'm excited to dive in today.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: So yeah, go ahead and let's um pray us in and we'll jump right into these verses because we've got some really good verses to share today.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Yes, let's go on and pray.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: Thank you for this time.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Lord, thank you that you know who needs to hear what you've laid on our hearts to share.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Lord, thank you for speaking through Mickey and I always but today, now especially, Lord, may it be evident that you are speaking.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: May it be powerful, Lord.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: We thank you for this time, we thank you for what you will do, we thank you for how you will show yourself.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: So Lord, we commit this time to you and thank you for what you will do in Jesus' name.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Now today, um part four.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: Bethany, before you start, I'm just gonna have you pause for one second.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: I'll be right back.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Sorry about that.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: I put on some uh some peppers to book to simmer and forgot to turn them down, and I didn't want them to start burning up and burn the house down.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: I really don't need a fire to happen in my home, so sorry for the interruptions.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: Um go ahead and continue where you where you're at.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Um so today on part four of this series, and this will be the final part of this series.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Um let's start by looking at John chapter twelve and verse forty-six.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: John twelve forty-six.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: And this verse is in the midst of Jesus' ministry here on earth when he was teaching his disciples and those who were with him.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: And I would encourage you to take the time for yourself to to study, study the ministry of Jesus, study what he taught his disciples then, and what he wants us to know now as well.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: That will encourage and uplift us and so John chapter twelve and verse forty-eight.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Verse 46, I'm sorry, verse 46.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: It says, I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: And if you have a red letter edition Bible, you will see that that is one of the verses in red telling us that it was Jesus' words, and that should encourage us when he says that he is a light coming to the world, that whosoever believeth on me, that is Jesus, should not abide in darkness.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Have we ever taken time to really recognize what he said there?
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: And so that verse will be to another episode um where we'll dive into that a little bit more, but not necessarily today, and yet that is so powerful, I believe, the wording.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, what are your thoughts on John 12, 46?
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: I love how Jesus is just telling everybody He He is the light, He's the light of the world, um, which also lets us know that the world is dark.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Yes, he has He has to tell us, hey, I'm the light of the world because the world is so dark.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Right now, the world we live in is very dark.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: It's so dark.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: And why is that?
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: Because we are not leaning on Jesus, we're not looking for that light, we're not utilizing the light that God gave us, which was Jesus when he came.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: And I and I when I think about abiding in in light instead of darkness, um, it's it's so crazy because the dark can take you in some pretty deep and concerning places, you know, in your life.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: Um, but the light can free you from those dark from those dark places, you know.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: So we have to be careful what we abide in.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Um when we when we think about abiding in darkness, I think about times where we um, you know, sometimes we think, oh, you know, I made a mistake that I can't come back from that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: Or, you know, that's not the darkness we're talking about.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: We're talking about real true evil darkness, not mistakes that we make.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Some people choose to do things on purpose, I get that.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: But sometimes we're just we can get into dark places.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: And God sent his son Jesus so that he could be the light for this world.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: And it's so important that we understand, and it's so simple, so simple to understand.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: It's not nothing confusing about this this scripture.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: So it's when you think about the light and the darkness, I think about life and death, which is what we're talking about today.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: We're talking about eternity, we're talking about that, and I know we're gonna dive more into that, so let's continue on with our with uh the rest of our scripture because I don't want to like give too much away.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: So yes, yes, and so as we continue on, let's go to Second Timothy Chapter One Second Timothy Chapter One Verse 6 and looking at that verse, um I had to remind myself what I um was going to say because from the outset, if you have your Bible and you're looking at that verse, Second Timothy one says, you might be thinking, well, how how does it tie into this episode?
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: Second Timothy one says, Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee, by the putting on of my hands.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: And this verse was written by Paul to Timothy, and the connection I want us to see from that is as we think about eternity, as we think about the question of are you ready for eternity, fellow Christians, how are we doing and sharing what God has given us?
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Are we stirring up the gift that God has placed within us?
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Or are we allowing it to stay dormant and stay net and not being used?
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: This verse should encourage us to like it says, stir up, stir up the gift.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: And so that's what I would encourage us to do is stir that up so that those who are not yet Christians are able to see how there is truly a difference between how they live and how I live, and you know I want what they have.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: And so Mickey, what are your thoughts on this?
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: When I think of this verse, and I I think about Paul talking to Timothy, how he's asking him about his remembrance.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Like what is he when we think upon God, what do we think of?
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: What does it stir in our hearts, the gift that God has given us, you know?
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: He's given us the, you know, he's actually given us the power of being able to put hands on, you know, people, lay hands on people and heal people, which is another segment for another time.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: But it's also remembering all the goodness and all of the things he's done and what he's really brought us through.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Um, because we sometimes often forget, sometimes we play the woe is me or whatever, and and we forget all of the good things that we have instead of all the things that we have not.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: And I think if people stopped focusing so much on what we don't have and start focusing on what we do have, they would they would see the goodness of God, they wouldn't even have to hesitate.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: If you if you're you are thinking on Jesus and you and you have that remembrance of God and what Jesus did for us, that in itself, knowing what He came to do for this world to be that light in a very dark world, we live in a very dark world right now, but that should bring so Much hope and encourage people greatly to want to.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: I I don't want to have to come to a point where I have to try and remember God.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: I want him to always be in rememb.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: I want to be always in remembrance of him.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: I don't ever want to forget what he did for me, ever.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: And I I feel I feel sad, you know, for for Christians.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: And even there are times in my life where it just wasn't in my mind.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: You know, I didn't think about it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: But we should be thinking about it constantly and walking in it.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: Because we're supposed to walk out, you know, what God gave us.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: You know, that's why we have to pick up our cross and walk it out.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: And that is walking in remembrance constantly.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Not going, oh, I'll get to that later.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'll do it, you know, whatever, later, later, later.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: We don't want to think about later, because if we do, it could be too late.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: So we've got to be really careful.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: So this is a great scripture.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: And I know that we could go more on this, and we are gonna, um, as we shift gears um and diving into some healing.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: I think that um um we'll be able to explain this in more detail.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: But as far as with this episode, like you said, putting it together with it and remembering who God is, remembering what God did and what God has done and what God is continuing to still do.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: We need to hang on to that.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: And that should stir up.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: It should stir us up, and it should stir the gifts up that God has given us.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: We should be operating in those gifts.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: We should be doing that.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: And we need to do it now, not later.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: Because time is time is moving pretty quickly.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: So they say we we'll probably see the end in our in our days, and I know they've been preaching that for years, but and we may or may not, but you know what?
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: Only God knows.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: But if we do, are we ready?
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: That's why we're talking about this today.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: Are we ready?
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: So that's what I wanted to say about that.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: Yes, so good, so powerful, and so thought-provoking, you know, the Bible is full of examples of God's faithfulness and healing and all that.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: So if you are a new Christian or if you haven't had much experience experience yet in understanding who God is and what he can do and all that.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: I would encourage you to first read through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and then read um through David's life.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: David went through so much, and yet God was there, and even Paul.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Paul went a lot, God was there.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: And as I've mentioned on other episodes, I believe, it's the God that we serve, that's the God of today as well.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: He has not changed, he has not changed at all since he spoke the universe into existence, and even before then, he has not changed, and so he can be trusted, and that should be an encouragement to us.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: And so now we are going to look at Revelation, Revelation chapter two, verses four and five.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: And so even taking time to go through those scriptures where Jesus is talking directly, that would be some encouragement.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: And so, about verses four and five, revelation revelation two, verse four.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Verse five.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Quickly, and we will remove thy canvas out of its place.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: Except thou repent.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: They had left loving Jesus, they had left.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Serving him, they had left, doing what he wanted them to do, and Jesus was encouraging them to come back to your first love.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: And so that encourages me that even if Christians, fellow Christians, if we have gotten away from our first love, which should be Jesus and should be God.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Even if we've gotten away from that, there is still time to get back.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: There is still time to be a light for Jesus, to be a light for God, and hopefully from those two verses you can see how it's possible to get back.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Even if you've gone astray.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: How much time?
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Only God knows.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: But let's be mindful that once a person dies, there's no more time for them.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: There's no more time for them to repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as Savior.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: And as I've said in other episodes, my opinion, it doesn't take that person too long to understand the choice that they made.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: And so that's my encouragement from those verses.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: And so, McGee, do you have thoughts on those?
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it's crazy when you think about um another word for fallen away is backslidden.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: Um another term that they use for it.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: And I wanted to touch base on that just briefly.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: But as a Christian, two things come to my mind if you're backslidden.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: Either one, you really truly were not saved to begin with, or two, if you've stepped back or decided not to continue to follow God for whatever reason, um, I encourage you, like Bethany is encouraging you, to come back and repent.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: All you have to do is repent.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Nothing you've done is so bad that God will not forgive you for nothing.
- 32:27SPEAKER_02: We just have to repent and come back to who God is, um, which the word says is our first love.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: And we need to remember again what Jesus did on the cross for us and why it's important.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: And you touched base on you know how um how quickly things can happen.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: When you die, you instantly, you instantly are gonna go to where you're gonna go.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: Either hell or you you will be present with the Lord until judgment day.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: It's an instant thing.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: It's it's not gonna be, well, let me just put you in purgatory and let's wait a minute and think about it a minute and go, well, where do I really want to go?
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: And then have another opportunity to make that decision.
- 33:11SPEAKER_02: You don't get to decide after you're gone.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: You don't get to.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: The only time you get to decide is now.
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: So I encourage you to do that.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I really encourage you to pay close attention to the scriptures, to pay close attention to what um the word is saying, and and look, look it up for yourself.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Like um Bethany said, read the read the gospels.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: It it's real clear.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: So it's important.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: So that's kind of what I what I take from these scriptures is is that.
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: And and I do worry when I when I think about people that have fallen away um or went on the wayside or backslidden.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: You know, there's there's lots of different terms for it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: Um and I know people have done it, some some have done it by choice.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: They've just, you know, drifted away, and we're just like, eh, it wasn't for me.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: I've heard people say, eh, it wasn't for me.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: Then who's it for?
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: That's what I want to know.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Can you answer that for me?
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: Because I'm confused, you know.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: I want to know who is it for then.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: So I I don't understand when people say that, you know, well, it wasn't for me, or I just I didn't get anything out of it, or I I didn't feel it.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: And you know, we we operate on emotions and feelings when we shouldn't be.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: We really do.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: And we need to be careful of that.
- 34:36SPEAKER_02: That's a dangerous zone to be in.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: And the enemy knows that we operate on our emotions and he can trip us up in a heartbeat.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: That's the little enemy whispering in your ear, you know, what has God done for you lately?
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: What has he really done for you lately?
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: No, you did that for yourself, but did you?
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: Are we taking credit where credit really shouldn't be given, you know, for ourselves or other people?
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: We're giving credit to other people and not for what God is actually doing in our lives.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: Have to be really careful.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: We need to be mindful, like like that.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: Be mindful.
- 35:09SPEAKER_02: We need to be watch watchmen.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: We need to be watching for the return of Jesus.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: And let me tell you right now, if you are watching right now, you are already seeing what's happening.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: You're not blind to what's going on around you.
- 35:23SPEAKER_02: There are so many people walking around with their blinders on, like this, like they can't see nothing.
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: And it's terrifying.
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, I watch people drive like this and talk on their phone like this, and spend time with their family like this, and work like this, and operate like this, and they they have nothing but what's in this little box.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: And um, I'm I'm sad to say it in this way, but it it makes them clueless as to what's really happening in the world around them.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: We already know what's going on in the world.
- 35:54SPEAKER_02: I'm not into politics.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: I do not like politics whatsoever.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Do I pray for politicians?
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: I absolutely do.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: Do I pray for our leaders and our government?
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: I absolutely do.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: Do I always agree with it?
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: Absolutely not.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: But that's not for me to decide.
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: I know who's still in control and I know who it's God.
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: I know the end result, and I know who wins the war in the end.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: If you've read the scripture, there's nothing to be worried about.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: We already know that everything that's happening right now is what has already been prophesied to happen right now.
- 36:24SPEAKER_02: Right now, everything that's going on was already prophesied.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: Years ago, hundreds, thousands of years ago.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's been written and it's been prophesied.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: And we act like we're shocked over it.
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: Like this is new news.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: This is not new news.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: But if you haven't ever heard the gospel, if you no one has ever told you about Jesus, and no one has ever shared the Romans road to salvation with you, we want to do that because eternity is eternity, it's forever.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: There is no coming back to this life.
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: There is no repeats, there's no do-overs, there's no second chances.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: Those things are eliminated.
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: But while you're here, you have an opportunity.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: And I encourage you to do that.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: And the scriptures are really clear.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: We need to be careful.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine God coming and removing the candlestick out you know, out of his place?
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: What did Jesus say who he was?
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: Who did he say he was in in John 12, 46?
- 37:30SPEAKER_02: Who did Jesus say he was?
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: He was the light.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: If God came and removed the candlestick, what do you think he's removing there?
- 37:37SPEAKER_02: What do you think he's implying?
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: There's only one light.
- 37:43SPEAKER_02: And that's Jesus.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: And if God comes and removes it, you better might, you might want to, you might want to um uh check yourself before you wreck yourself, is what I tell my kids, but it's just an expression I use, but you might want to check yourself at the door, like you know, seriously, because um I don't want God to remove his candlestick from my life ever.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Even if he takes it from the church.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: If the church is if the church is small church, which we are the church, you guys, we're the church.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: The Christians are the church.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: We want to put all of the blame on our pastors and on all of our neighbors and on the person in the pew behind us, in front of us, and before us.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: But it's it's all of us as a as a community, as a unity that build a church.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: So if God comes in and takes that candlestick out, you you guys are that's that's some that's some big problems right there.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: Gotta really, we need to repent.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: We need to get back to Jesus.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: Our focus isn't where it should be.
- 38:37SPEAKER_02: We need to start getting ready for eternity.
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: And how do we do that?
- 38:42SPEAKER_02: We do that by focusing on why Jesus came, who Jesus is, and what God did for us.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: He sent us that gift.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: That's a free gift.
- 38:51SPEAKER_02: How many times do people walk up and give you a friend, a gift, a free gift?
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: How many times do you go, oh no, thank you because I don't want that?
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: How many?
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: I know for me, not many.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh, thank you.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: You got me a gift.
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: How exciting! What is it?
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: Or whatever, you know, it's a free gift.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: You got me this.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: Why are we doing that with Jesus?
- 39:11SPEAKER_02: It's free.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: It isn't gonna cost you anything.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: You don't have to pay for it, you don't even have to earn it.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: It's amazing.
- 39:22SPEAKER_02: So we need to be mindful, seriously mindful.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: And I believe that Holy Spirit really wants to embark on where are our hearts at right now?
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: Where are we at in line with who Jesus Christ is?
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: Are we set for eternity or are we still over here on the bench?
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: Or they call it sitting on the fence.
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: Are you a fence sitter?
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: You can't make up your mind which side of the fence you want to be on.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: In Revelations, it talks about being lukewarm.
- 39:51SPEAKER_02: You God would rather you be hot or cold, but if you're lukewarm, he's gonna spit you out.
- 39:57SPEAKER_02: We need to be careful.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: So I definitely want to encourage you.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: I know Bethany wants to encourage you, and that's why she brings these amazing scriptures to the table because it's so important that you see the word of God for what it is, for the face value of it.
- 40:14SPEAKER_02: People want to say, Oh, this is so hard, it's so confusing.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: I don't understand.
- 40:18SPEAKER_02: There's nothing hard about this.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: All the scripture is saying get right.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: The word righteous means get right.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Nowhere in the Bible says get wrong.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: I don't think I've read that anywhere.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: Well, why don't you just go get wrong?
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: No, it says get righteous, be righteous, not be wicked.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: It talks against all of the darkness.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: A candle cannot shine in the dark unless it's lit.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: We need to keep our candles lit.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: We need to keep our oil lamps full.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: So I want to encourage you in that.
- 40:54SPEAKER_02: So, Bethany, I don't do you have another scripture for us?
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: And now I want to have a see an example of what it took or a miracle to happen and in first Kings chapter eighteen.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: And he posed the question to those who were there.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: And I want to strengthen us.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: What did Elijah have to do?
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: That should be a reminder to James Chapter eighteen and verse thirty verse says And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: And all the people came near unto him.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: And he repaired the altar of the Lord.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: That was broken down.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: No.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Why was the altar broken down?
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: Well Verse number twenty six gives us the answer.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: Verse twenty six says And I took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, Oh Baal.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: But there was no voice nor any that answered.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: So why did Elijah and the people of God have to repair the altar?
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: Because those that were trying to wake Baal up, Baal is a false god.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: Those who were trying to wake Baal up, they were jumping all over the altar.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: No, there have been times where I've read that experience and I've thought, man, I would have liked to see that.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: All these people, you know, just being crazy and trying to get this God's attention.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: And obviously they could not because again, Bail is not real.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: And so Eliza's having to repair the altar.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: And so maybe that's one thing that we're having to do now.
- 46:02SPEAKER_01: We're having to repair things of God that have been broken down and it is interesting to me that we're now in a political time where there's so much mockery God going on.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: And that should not be and I I don't want this to be political.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: But we need to be careful.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: Are we going to stand up for the Lord?
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: Are we going to let our light shine?
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: Or are we going to stand back and let those who are making a mockery of God continue?
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: Are we gonna let that continue?
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: Do you think that God wants that?
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: I don't.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: I don't think God wants mockery of himself.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: And so I just want to encourage.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: Let's if we have to, let's repair the things that are broken down so that we can shine brightly for the Lord.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: And let's continue on.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: I personally believe the Lord is continuing to give us time because he knows he knows when he's going to end time.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: And when he does, like I said earlier, that's it.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: And he like first Peter three nine says God is not willing that any any should perish.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: But that all everyone all should come to repentance.
- 49:20SPEAKER_01: And that is my heart's desire to everyone come to repentance.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: I have back when I was in elementary school.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: Back in May of 1990.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: That's when I became a Christian.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: So let's be repairing the things that are broken down.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: Let's be continuing to sharing to the Lord.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, what are your thoughts?
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Well, with Revelation, there's a lot to this chapter.
- 50:24SPEAKER_02: Um, and and to to um bail.
- 50:30SPEAKER_02: Um, he's known as the the um as a god over the ancient storms and the fertility god, basically.
- 50:39SPEAKER_02: But we know who created it says in Genesis who created the universe, who created the wind and the rain and the everything, who created everything into existence.
- 50:49SPEAKER_02: And people worshiped Baal um for it, for the weather, for the storms.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's so many, there's there's a there's a there's another god, um Habid, I think it is, um, who is the god over rain and thunder or something.
- 51:08SPEAKER_02: I believe it's Habit.
- 51:09SPEAKER_02: Anyhow, a lot of mythical gods, because they're false gods.
- 51:13SPEAKER_02: They're they're not real gods.
- 51:15SPEAKER_02: Um, just like Zeus, and there's a you know, a lot of a lot of gods that are worshipped that are in on the earth.
- 51:23SPEAKER_02: And um I would urgently cautious cautiously urge you to make sure that you're being aware about who and what you're praying to, for one.
- 51:37SPEAKER_02: And make sure you have a clear understanding to to what it is you're praying for.
- 51:42SPEAKER_02: And it's important, but God is God understands what we what knowledge we have, by the way.
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: He knows what we have in our minds, he knows what we have in our hearts, he knows what we have in our spirits.
- 51:56SPEAKER_02: So he knows where we are at more than we know where we're at.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: So if you're communicating with God and you're praying to God, um, you're gonna be okay.
- 52:07SPEAKER_02: Just make sure you're praying to God.
- 52:09SPEAKER_02: You know, you're not praying to some false origin.
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: You don't want to be praying to anything that's not of God.
- 52:19SPEAKER_02: Um matter of fact, you should, if you ever have, you should repent for that and denounce it.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: Denounce anything that you've ever spoken against God.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: Um even saying his his name in vain.
- 52:34SPEAKER_02: That's that's a huge, that's a mockery.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: A lot of people use God as a cuss word all day long, you know, and um lots of guilt there, you know, and and you have to ask for forgiveness for that.
- 52:52SPEAKER_02: If someone was cursing you and using your name as a curse word, um, and we're human beings, can I mean I know how it would make me feel, but can you imagine even more so how it makes God feel?
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: How belittling it is, you know, and then to turn around and call yourself a Christian.
- 53:10SPEAKER_02: Be careful.
- 53:13SPEAKER_02: Those are the Christians that you gotta be careful.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: You gotta be really careful that I I would question their their their spiritual walk with the Lord.
- 53:22SPEAKER_02: Even the enemy believes in in Jesus Christ.
- 53:27SPEAKER_02: More than Christians believe, I believe.
- 53:30SPEAKER_02: More so, I think.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: So we need to be very careful, we need to be mindful.
- 53:34SPEAKER_02: So it's it's really a good idea to make sure that we're not um practicing or operating and praying or or wishing to false um entities at all.
- 53:47SPEAKER_02: And I definitely wouldn't want to try to bring them back by any means, ever.
- 53:53SPEAKER_02: Um we already know, we already know when the rivers dry up what's coming.
- 53:58SPEAKER_02: We already know what the word says about it.
- 54:01SPEAKER_02: Um, which is another episode.
- 54:02SPEAKER_02: We don't want to go there today, but it's a completely another episode for learning.
- 54:07SPEAKER_02: Um, but we need to have re if we want to be religious, we want to have a religious revival to Yahweh, to Jesus Christ, to God.
- 54:20SPEAKER_02: We need to make sure we know who we are celebrating at all costs.
- 54:26SPEAKER_02: Just be careful.
- 54:28SPEAKER_02: Because it can determine where you go when you die, those decisions that you make.
- 54:37SPEAKER_02: I know one of God's biggest sins is do not worship any other God other than Him.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: So be careful what you're worshiping.
- 54:50SPEAKER_02: Even your family can be a God to you, your kids can be gods to you, your your phone can be a God, your job could be so many things we put in place before God.
- 55:00SPEAKER_02: We need to we need to put God back in his place.
- 55:03SPEAKER_02: And we need to, it's a work in progress.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: And God knows your heart, he knows if you're if you're working on it or not.
- 55:09SPEAKER_02: So I just encourage you to do it.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: That's what gets you prepared for eternity.
- 55:14SPEAKER_02: Those are the things you can do right now.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: Because some people say, well, if I just pray about it, what what do I do?
- 55:19SPEAKER_02: Just sit around and wait for it to happen.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: Well, it's inevitable, it's gonna happen.
- 55:24SPEAKER_02: We're all gonna die.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: We all live, we all die because we're we're we're not mortal.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: We can't live forever because of what Adam and Eve did in the garden.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: But we can know exactly where we're going if we're ready, and we can work on being prepared right now.
- 55:42SPEAKER_02: Start working on it today, not wait till later.
- 55:47SPEAKER_02: And if you are worshiping false gods, I'd recommend that you that's one thing that you stop right away.
- 55:52SPEAKER_02: Don't do that.
- 55:53SPEAKER_02: So Ben, um um, Bethany, what else do you have for us as far as scripture goes?
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: Um James 4 verse 8, the beginning of that verse.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
- 56:21SPEAKER_01: There's so much confidence in that.
- 56:25SPEAKER_01: It doesn't say he might, doesn't say if he feels like it, says he will.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: But what's the order?
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: We have to draw nigh to him, and so are we doing that?
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: Are we drawing nigh to him?
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: Are we acknowledging him every morning before we get up?
- 57:04SPEAKER_01: Are we acknowledging him throughout the day?
- 57:09SPEAKER_01: Are we praying?
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: Are we in his word?
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: Are we studying?
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: Are we desiring what he desires?
- 57:23SPEAKER_01: Are we doing what we can to lead people to him?
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: Because we can't save anyone, but we can lead people to the Lord who is able to save, he's the only one able to save, and so but we need to be drawing nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to us, and then um first Thessalonians 519 short verse, only three words, but they are clear, they are precise.
- 58:32SPEAKER_01: They say what they mean, mean what they say.
- 58:40SPEAKER_01: First Thessalonians five nineteen says quench not the spirit, meaning the Holy Spirit.
- 58:53SPEAKER_01: That means, fellow Christians, what is the Lord laying on your heart?
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: Are you quenching something that the Lord is prompting you to do?
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: Are you resisting doing something that God wants you to do?
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're resisting or neglecting talking to someone about the Lord because you don't know what their response will be.
- 59:45SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you that is one of the main temptations, I believe, of Satan.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Satan does not want anyone sharing God's truth with others.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_01: No one.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_01: Something like that, and it it james four, seven.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: Submit yourselves, therefore, to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: And that's not just talking about one time, that's talking about every single time Satan res Satan attacks you, you resist him, you submit to God, and I'm not saying all this because I'm perfect and I never deal with things.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_01: Um I do, believe me, I do.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: I have experience, I know.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_01: So I'm doing my best to encourage you.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: Be obedient to First Thessalonians 5 19.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_01: Quench not the spirit, be obedient to James 4.7, and don't get the order reversed, don't resist God and submit to the devil.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: James 4.7 as well.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_01: Draw an eye to God, and he will draw an eye to you.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: Guaranteed.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: You know, it people say, well, you shouldn't make guarantees.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: Um I can guarantee you on James 4 7, because I've experienced it.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_01: And I encourage you to experience it for yourself.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have thoughts on these verses?
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_02: Um other than agreeing with what you're saying, um, I I do when we think of James 4.8 and 4.7.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_02: Um, it is important at the last latter part of James 4.8 where it says, Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_02: Um a lot of people are really double-minded.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: Sometimes they don't realize that they are.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_02: We can be easily double-minded because we've been fooled, we've been tricked.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_02: Um we um are not drawn nigh to God.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_02: That's why.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_02: When we draw nigh to God, God teaches us how not to be double-minded, by the way.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_02: Because he teaches us what sins are, he teaches us how to purify our hearts, he teaches us how to do all of the things that follow along on that verse.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_02: And doing that, you should get thirsty.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_02: We just did a whole episode on it, on quenching the spirit.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_02: When we asked, are you thirt thirsty in our last series before this series?
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_02: It goes back to that.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_02: So, but I believe we have um one more verse before we wrap up, do we?
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Um more verse.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: So our final verse for this episode.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: And there are so many verses that I could pull from.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_01: Um and so that is another encouragement to do your own study, to use various um online tools, and I will put some in the show notes that I use that I I love to use.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_01: The final verse is Ephesians five, verse eight.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_01: Ephesians five, eight.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_01: And that verse it says we were sometimes darkness.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: But now are ye the children.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_01: We were sometimes darkness.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_01: But now are ye light in the Lord.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_01: Walk as children of light.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_01: We are not in Satan's domain.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: We are children of light.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: Of the light.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_01: Are we walking in that light?
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_01: There are so many scriptures that are commands to us as Christians.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_01: Are we being obedient to those commands?
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_01: Or are we just glossing over them?
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_01: Not paying attention to them.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_01: No, it it's not about being perfect.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: It's not about any of that.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: It's about being obedient.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_01: Like I say, I I'm not perfect.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_01: And I I will happily admit that anytime.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: To encourage others.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_01: And so are you ready for eternity?
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_01: If not, now behold now is the accepted time.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: Behold now is the day of salvation.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_01: If you're a Christian right now, how are you doing?
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_01: Are you sharing the gospel with others?
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_01: Or are you submitting to Satan and submitting to his attacks and being like, well, well, I know I should be witnessing, or I know I should be doing better.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_01: But and this is not a judgment on anyone.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_01: Not a judgment at all.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_01: I'm just giving examples of what might be having.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_01: Not saying it is, but just giving it examples.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_01: No, we don't know how much time we have left.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_01: But again.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_01: What about those unexpected sudden situations that seem to come on us?
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_01: And we end up wondering what what happened.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_01: I thought you filled in a plank.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_01: Be ready.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_01: Be ready.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_01: Shine brightly.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_01: And so make the what are your final thoughts?
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_02: Well, as we wrap up this series and this episode, um, I know we went a little bit long, but we wanted to make sure that um we shared the scriptures.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_02: That's um, these are important scriptures.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_02: And um every every word of God is important and has meaning.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_02: Um, we we we don't take that for granted.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_02: Don't ever take the word of God for granted.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_02: Um, but one thing you said, Bethany, was that you aren't perfect, um, and that you're working out and walking out your your own righteousness.
- 1:12:40SPEAKER_02: And here's the thing I want to say to add to that is um no one's perfect, and perfection doesn't get us into heaven.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_02: Jesus Jesus is the only way we get to heaven.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_02: The only thing that we can make, the biggest mistake we can make is just not believing in Jesus Christ and repenting of our sins.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_02: We're never going to be perfect.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_02: And sometimes we strive for perfection, and we don't even have to strive for perfection.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_02: We just have to believe in Jesus Christ.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_02: When you start believing in Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ does a work in you because he is in you.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_02: You've accepted him, you've invited him into you, into who you are.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_02: That's the ultimate sin in the world.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_02: If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you're gonna go to hell.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_02: Period.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_02: No ands, ifs, or buts, no second chances, no do-overs, let, or there's no purgatory, there's no later on.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_02: So we want to make it really clear that you understand and know the importance of it as well as repentance.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_02: We want to repent.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_02: The things you don't repent for are the things you're gonna answer to God for.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_02: The things you repent for are the things God, once he forgives you, they're gone.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_02: I think a lot of times we have a problem with forgiveness because when we forgive someone, we still hang on to it.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_02: God doesn't.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_02: It's no longer in his no longer there to God.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_02: It's it's like it never happened.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_02: That sin has never happened.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_02: And what an amazing, what an amazing God that we have that he can do that.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_02: So I just encourage everyone, and and I hope that this series has helped someone, and I hope that um it will help you to get prepared.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_02: Have that preparation, be ready, and make sure you know where you're going.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_02: You should be thirsty for Jesus.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_02: You should want eternity in heaven.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_02: If you're contemplating hell even a little bit, you might want to sit at Jesus' feet for a little while.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_02: But don't do it because of shame or guilt.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_02: Don't do it for that reason.
- 1:14:58SPEAKER_02: If you're really honestly not sure where you're going, it's super simple.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_02: If you believe in Jesus Christ and you ask him into your heart, into your soul, ask him to forgive you of your sins and to take you to heaven when you die, he is going to do exactly that.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_02: That's what his word says he will do if you pray that prayer.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_02: So I encourage you to do that today.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_02: I encourage you to get into the word.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_02: I encourage you to meditate on it, and I encourage you to spend time with Jesus.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_02: Get to know the Savior that went and died on the cross for you.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_02: Get to know that Jesus.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_02: Not some false Jesus, not a statue of Jesus, not a picture of Jesus, not a picture of a cross.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_02: There's lots of things that that that have representation for Christ.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_02: We have to be careful we don't use those as idols, by the way.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_02: It's okay to have them as long as you're not idling them.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_02: I have crosses in my house.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_02: I have pictures of you know what people think Jesus looks like because we don't know.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_02: But I don't worship the picture.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_02: It's just a re it just helps me to remember and to be reminded.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_02: And I think of what Jesus does for me.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_02: We need to stay in remembrance of Jesus.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_02: Always.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_02: Like he says, he loves us today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_02: We should be the same.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_02: We should give the same thing back.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_02: So let's go and pray, and then we'll close out this episode.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_02: So thank you, Father God, Lord.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_02: We just thank you so much for this series.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_02: And Lord, thank you for opening up um Bethany and myself to want to indulge in um sharing about eternity, Lord.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_02: And Lord, your word says that we need to be prepared in and out of season.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_02: We need to be prepared always.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_02: We need to keep our oil lamps full.
- 1:16:57SPEAKER_02: Lord, we just ask that you just fill us up.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_02: You just fill us with that abundant overflowing that you say that you give.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_02: Or we ask you just um watch over us, forgive us of our sins, Lord, and show us the way, God.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_02: We know that you you the path that you're on is the path that we need to be on.
- 1:17:12SPEAKER_02: The path that we want to follow, God.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_02: We thank you for your son, Jesus, who died on our cross.
- 1:17:16SPEAKER_02: Thank you for the light.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_02: Lord, we we we don't want the candlestick removed, Lord.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_02: We want Jesus to stay.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_02: We want Jesus forever.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_02: We want to spend eternity with Jesus.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_02: We thank you for what He's done for us, Lord.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_02: We are grateful, Lord.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_02: I am grateful.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_02: I'm thankful for everything that you've done, Lord, in and through my life.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_02: And for those that I know, I know you work daily as we walk out our walk with you, Lord.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_02: Lord, just help us to be mindful, help us to be diligent, help us to be um aware of the wicked wiles of the enemy, help us to be on alert.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_02: And Lord, most of all, help us to sit and spend time and and idle with Jesus so that we can learn who your son is and what he did for us that day.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_02: And Lord, we thank you again for sending him our way.
- 1:18:06SPEAKER_02: Lord, I ask anybody listening to the sound of my voice right now, watching this episode, uh listening to the series, that they take heed and that they prayed that prayer.
- 1:18:14SPEAKER_02: That they pray and say, Jesus, please come into my heart, forgive me of my sins and take me to heaven when I die.
- 1:18:20SPEAKER_02: For any of those that did pray that, Lord, I just ask that you just lift them up and encourage them, teach them the way.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_02: Lord, help Bethany and I to keep on sharing your word and your scripture because your word is what we want to share.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_02: That's what this podcast is all about.
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_02: We want to tell the truth.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_02: We want to tell your truth, not our truth, but yours, God.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_02: We thank you for your love and your mercy, your grace, your grace and your kindness, Lord.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_02: We just ask that you just bless everyone listening today.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_02: We thank you for truth be told, and I thank you for Bethany, Lord Jesus.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_02: We just ask just to protect us always.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_02: In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_02: Well, that was good.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_02: If you missed the other episodes, go back and watch them and um so you can tie it all together.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_02: Um, but mostly we Bethany and I just hope that we have been able to help encourage you and enlighten you and just give you a little bit of hope.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_02: And we want to see you in eternity.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_02: We want to see you in heaven, we want to see you on the other side.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_02: So, where are you at today?
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_02: Are you ready for eternity?
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm gonna leave you with today.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_02: I want you to think on that and ponder that.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_02: Are you ready for eternity?
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_02: Bethany, thank you for your time and thank you for pulling uh bringing the scripture to to this episode.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_02: Um, and to everyone else watching, um be diligent, be mindful, and don't forget to think about that question.

- 1:19:46SPEAKER_02: This has been another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_02: And we just want to bid you all farewell.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_02: Thank you, and God bless you guys.
