- 0:09SPEAKER_02: No, me neither.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: So I started to search it on TikTok and see what is in a rural king and everyone Everything.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Everyone says everything.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Isn't that crazy?
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: They they say it's everything from yeah, you've got your lawn stuff and you have your um you have your like outdoor project stuff, but then you also have clothes.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know, it just sounds like a little bit of everything.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: They also have free popcorn, free coffee every single day.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: But let me tell you two deals that really stuck out to me.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: And I'll be there Friday, five to seven.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: The first deal was, you know how you get those water bottles, 24 packs, like you go to the store to get water bottles?
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: $1.99.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: That's only for the whole 24?
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: That's oh my lord.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: And that's just for opening weekend.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: And then they also have a pair of jeans for 10 bucks for guys.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: It's guys' five-pocket jeans.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Although I have worn guys' jeans before and I like that fit.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: What you're saying, you've been in the guy's jeans before.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's a time or two.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Actually, I need to tell Zach because Zach was even saying, Oh, I definitely have to tell Zach because although he knows what I'm doing on Friday, but he was talking about getting new flannels for the fall.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Done.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, that's the place.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's gonna be tons of deals there.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: Don't they have pet foods and different things like that too?
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: That's another thing.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Whatever you're looking for, whether it's outdoor projects, some indoor projects, pet food, uh come to Rural King.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: I'll be there at five o'clock.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: We're gonna hang out.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: We're gonna see it together for the first time.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: I I can tell you they've been working hard on it.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: That it, you know, watching it kind of evolve into what it's be what it was to what it's become.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so speaking of what it was, it was the old tops.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: If you don't, if you don't know where rural king is, it's the tops that it's on that main drag when you're going, you know, down El Myra.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right if right after you cross the main street bridge there.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Like Aldi nearby and all that.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Kitty Corner from Anne's Pancakes.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Okay, this is a tough one.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: I I I want you to explain why you're having this problem, and we'll see if we can help get you this answer.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: I think I kind of know what the answer might be, but go ahead.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I've had this male friend since college.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Um, and we've always pretty much known we wouldn't really work as a couple because we're like completely different personalities.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Um but we were both single for a really long time.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So a few months back we decided to become like friends with benefits and just have some fun.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I just found out I'm pregnant.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I don't even know how it happened because we were both being careful, but now I just have like no idea how to break the news to him.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Like he's made it abundantly clear over the years that he doesn't want to date me, and I've always felt pretty much the same way.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: So it's not like we've secretly been heading towards like a relationship, but yeah, now he's gonna be the father of my child, so that obviously changes everything whether we want it to or not.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I don't even know what he's gonna say, and I'm not completely sure how I feel about it yet either.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: So it's just like a lot to take in.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: And I know I gotta tell him soon, but I just keep putting it off because I don't even know how to start.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Like I don't want him to think I'm expecting us to suddenly become a couple because yeah, I'm not even thinking that way right now.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: But obviously, we're gonna have to figure out what this means for both of us, and yeah, I guess I'm calling because I really don't have anybody to talk to about it.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm just wondering if anyone's been in like an unplanned situation like this, and how you broke the news.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Uh, but um, okay.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: So my first gut reaction is you just need to rip that band-aid off right away and just say, like, look, here's the deal.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: I'm pregnant.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Because I think the only thing you can do from this point forward is decide where to go from here.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: And that may be because he may say, Um, well, you know, we know we don't want to be a couple, but I'd love to be a, you know, a dad.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: And you would hope that we continue all the way through.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: She might decide, although I don't think she's going to.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: She said, the father of my child.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: I think her intentions are to keep the child.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I was gonna do that.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: That sounds like it.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: She could give the child to him, or there's another option too.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I don't see that happening.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: I don't either.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, you get way too attached being pregnant.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: There is adoption.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: That's another option too.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: If this, I think here's where this is my gut on this.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: You guys tell me if you think I'm wrong or right, or if you have another suggestion, please let me know.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: These things can get ugly real quick.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: And if you want to avoid years in a court system and support court system and everything else, and the the the the the pain that comes with that for everyone involved, okay?
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: Whether everything, everybody, okay, everybody's affected by it, right?
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: Um, and uh this would be my suggestion on this is tell him right away, don't don't hesitate, be very open, very honest, gauge his input on what how much he'd want to be involved if he wants to be involved.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: If it's a situation where he's very eager, then maybe you guys gotta have a sit-down beforehand and be like, look, this is the plan.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: We're going to do this, or you're gonna end up in the court system.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Or, you know, if he says, I'm really not at a point where I want to be a father figure, then you know the answer to that.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: And you can make some choices.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: You could say, Maybe we do adoption, maybe we do.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: I think you have to be right up front right away.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Well, if he says he doesn't want to be a dad, he still is going to have the financial responsibility.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: He could.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: That falls on her whether or not to take that route and do that.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Yes, and that's where I think that she needs to say, number one, I know we never planned on being a couple.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Let's start off with that.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: We're let's be honest.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: We weren't planning on being a couple.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: I understand that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: We did adult things, and this is what happened.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Here's the prize.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: And now you can decide whether you want to be involved or not.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And if he says yes, what I think should happen is have a contract.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Don't go through uh try to stay out of the court system as much as possible.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: No, well that that would be the goal, right?
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Have a contract that is on paper, notarized, and it says, I'm gonna be responsible or we are going to share X, Y, and Z.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And the days I'm sure are gonna change as the baby gets older.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Well, and life changes as you get older.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: You know, I mean you may say now I have no interest in in doing this.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: That may stay or that may change.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: If five years, uh five years from now he says, Oh, I want to be involved in the baby's life.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: So um but I still then I'd start considering leaving it up to the kid and being like, look, your dad has an interest in you.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Do you?
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: At five years old, that's really tough.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Well, at five it is, but as they get older, it's a little bit easier.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, yes, exactly.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: I know but but stage one is rip the band-aid off, and you need to come right out and say this is what the ob w what this is my situation.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: But I think you need to start by saying, I know we are we never planned on being a couple.
- 7:14unknown: Uh huh.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Because I think I don't want him to feel like and it it sounds weird to say this word, but trapping him.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: Well, that was okay.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: That is in line with a text from Pony Joe, which I'm gonna soften a little bit of what Pony Joe said.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: Uh huh.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: But I have a question about You're not even trapping, it's just like, hey, we did the thing and this is what happened.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, I mean, there this is the outcome to it.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: I want to see what you guys say initially.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Are we on the same page?
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: You gotta just get you gotta get this out there right now.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: You gotta do this right now, like in the next forty eight hours.
