- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya Radd, an iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two-time People's Choice Award-winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello, everybody.
- 0:12Speaker 1: We are scrubbing in.
- 0:15Speaker 2: That we are. It is a Monday. It is the
- 0:17Speaker 2: Monday after the VMAs. It is a Monday after Taylor
- 0:20Speaker 2: Swift released four new songs.
- 0:22Speaker 1: That's right. There's a lot to discuss. Yeah. How are
- 0:27Speaker 1: you doing?
- 0:28Speaker 2: I'm doing just dandy. How are you doing?
- 0:30Speaker 1: You're not doing just like amazing, incredible, beyond the best
- 0:34Speaker 1: after a two-hour FaceTime with me last night?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Becca and I.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Started our FaceTime at 7, 10 p.m. And guess what
- 0:43Speaker 2: time we hung up?
- 0:44Speaker 3: I would guess 10, 10 p.m.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That is terrible math.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I thought you said three-hour FaceTime. Oh, two.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I'm sorry. 9, 05 p.m.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yes. That's right. Not only did I answer. That was
- 1:00Speaker 1: a big start. And then I did two hours.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So I was expecting a little more charisma from you
- 1:08Speaker 1: this morning, excitement.
- 1:09Speaker 2: And it's an embarrassment of riches between the two-hour FaceTime, Taylor, VMAs.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's just like a lot to handle, to process for me.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Well, where do we begin? Because after, I want to
- 1:19Speaker 1: say Tuesday was when Taylor announced that she was, was
- 1:24Speaker 1: it Tuesday where she announced that she had new music
- 1:26Speaker 1: coming out? Yes. The Patient Zero? Yes, yes. Which confused me.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I was a little confused because she announced that there
- 1:32Speaker 1: was going to be a single, Patient Zero, posted the
- 1:36Speaker 1: artwork for it, which felt totally random and separate from
- 1:40Speaker 1: Life of a Showgirl to me.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It did feel separate.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, we're entering a new era. And
- 1:45Speaker 1: then a few days later, she's like, actually, you're getting
- 1:50Speaker 1: four songs. Yeah. An encore to Life of a Showgirl.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Which, and then I was like, wait, but is Patient
- 1:58Speaker 1: Zero still part of those four songs or is it separate?
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'd love to hear your initial thoughts upon listening.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So I know there's a lot of discourse online about
- 2:07Speaker 2: these said four songs. I am on the side of
- 2:10Speaker 2: the internet that's obsessed with them. Like literally obsessed with them.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I have not stopped listening to them. My only gripe
- 2:18Speaker 2: is the talking.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:20Speaker 2: If there was no talking in either of those songs,
- 2:23Speaker 2: they would be 100 out of 10 for me.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I do feel like that's where everyone who has discourse
- 2:29Speaker 1: is kind of all aligned. Like even if you love
- 2:31Speaker 1: the songs, I think everyone's kind of like, about the talking, right?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Where she goes, I have an announcement to make.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You'd think she would have learned.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I found my....
- 2:45Speaker 2: It's so Tanya coded.
- 2:47Speaker 1: It is very Tanya.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It's so me. And even I could do without. But
- 2:53Speaker 2: what I'm saying is I still like, I'm obsessed with them.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah. So upon first listen, I... I love the melody
- 3:03Speaker 1: of Patient Zero, but again, the talking kind of took
- 3:07Speaker 1: me out of it for a second. Minimal talking.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I almost don't hear the talking anymore.
- 3:10Speaker 4: At this point.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Do you know what I think it is? It's because
- 3:13Speaker 1: her bridges are so good, and we know her for
- 3:16Speaker 1: her bridges, so to fill the bridges with the talking,
- 3:21Speaker 1: it threw me.
- 3:22Speaker 3: You know, you'd think she would have learned from Hey
- 3:23Speaker 3: Kid Spelling is Fun, which they ended up removing from
- 3:26Speaker 3: that song for radio. So you'd think she'd have learned
- 3:29Speaker 3: from that experience because that is painful. I'm not a
- 3:32Speaker 3: fan of Cleveland. I think that's a rough one. I know.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Look, I have one daughter who's obsessed with them and
- 3:37Speaker 3: one daughter who is a hater on them. And I'm
- 3:42Speaker 3: leaning a little bit towards the hater side of the
- 3:45Speaker 3: two sides of that coin. I like Babylon. That's my
- 3:48Speaker 3: favorite of the four.
- 3:49Speaker 2: That's my least favorite.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Oh, that's my favorite, too. Well, okay, well, to each
- 3:51Speaker 3: their own, but I'm not a fan of Cleveland.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Babylon's my favorite, and then Patient Zero.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Agreed.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And then Pink Clouding, and then Cleveland.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Oh, the Pink Clouding, like, I barely remember that one.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Pink Clouding.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It goes in order. That's like my favorite. My favorite
- 4:07Speaker 2: is Patient Zero. Cleveland's my second.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Pink Clouding, and then Babylon.
- 4:11Speaker 3: So we agree about Pink Clouding being the third of
- 4:13Speaker 3: the four.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Sure. You're not you're not a big lyrics person, are you?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Excuse me.
- 4:18Speaker 1: You're not. You're not.
- 4:20Speaker 2: You're the first time I heard Cleveland. I was in
- 4:22Speaker 2: the bathroom and I was telling Robbie, like, how cute
- 4:25Speaker 2: she's talking about Travis and how everybody's talking all this
- 4:28Speaker 2: smack about her. But she doesn't care because she found
- 4:30Speaker 2: her person.
- 4:31Speaker 3: That is her.
- 4:32Speaker 2: That is her taste.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You know what I think?
- 4:34Speaker 2: I can appreciate good storytelling. Okay, Becca Tilly.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I saw someone say there's like four groups of people
- 4:41Speaker 1: or it's like people who love the music. There's people
- 4:44Speaker 1: who hate the music. There's people who are like, I
- 4:46Speaker 1: love Taylor, but this isn't like necessarily my favorite songs
- 4:51Speaker 1: of hers. And then people who are like really dramatic
- 4:54Speaker 1: and feel like they've like lost their breath. friend who
- 4:58Speaker 1: is the storyteller of art, whatever. I'm more like, I
- 5:01Speaker 1: love Taylor and I will listen to whatever she puts
- 5:04Speaker 1: out forever. But they're not like my, they're not, they're
- 5:08Speaker 1: not going to go on like my top five songs,
- 5:10Speaker 1: which is fine. But I also was thinking about it.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And I feel like Cleveland is a song for the
- 5:16Speaker 1: girlies who this is, you're going to like this, I think.
- 5:19Speaker 1: who were told that they're too much, their standards are
- 5:23Speaker 1: too high, they're never going to find a guy who
- 5:26Speaker 1: loves the things about them that are their biggest personality traits.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And then being able to announce that they found that person,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and not only did they find someone to do it,
- 5:38Speaker 1: but he's also really awesome and great, and they want
- 5:41Speaker 1: to shout it from the rooftop. But I have never
- 5:43Speaker 1: been that girl in the sense that... Must be nice. Well,
- 5:49Speaker 1: there's just two different... I mean, I think it's just
- 5:51Speaker 1: a very Tanya Becka thing.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm very convinced that people who don't like these new
- 5:56Speaker 2: songs don't feel joy.
- 5:57Speaker 1: That's not true. I feel so much joy.
- 5:59Speaker 2: That's really all you need. It's just like you turn
- 6:01Speaker 2: these songs on and it's just joyful. Like, you just
- 6:05Speaker 2: want her to be like in her sad, depressed era.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And like, I'm happy.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Because You Are In Love is one of the most
- 6:10Speaker 1: beautiful love songs of all time. And it's so romantic
- 6:14Speaker 1: and happy. It's like the... It describes falling in love
- 6:18Speaker 1: so beautifully. And I think that I can appreciate her
- 6:23Speaker 1: happiness and want her happiness and also say I'm more
- 6:27Speaker 1: of like a yearner.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So because Beck and I were FaceTiming, I missed.
- 6:34Speaker 1: The patient zero music video.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I missed it. Because I was on FaceTime with you,
- 6:41Speaker 2: which is fine. I was so happy to be on
- 6:42Speaker 2: FaceTime with you. I did not want to hang up
- 6:44Speaker 2: on FaceTime with you. But I missed it on my television.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So I was like, surely it'll be on YouTube or something, whatever.
- 6:49Speaker 2: So I go to Taylor's Instagram and click the link
- 6:52Speaker 2: tree to all the various places that I need subscriptions
- 6:55Speaker 2: to watch the video. It's like nowhere to be found.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I had to find some person that was in the
- 7:01Speaker 2: audience at the VMAs that had tracked it on their phone.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Wait, why?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Why? It was not.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I don't know if it's up now, but last night,
- 7:09Speaker 2: like it was not on YouTube.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So I found some person. Thank you to this said. Yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I should.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I reposted it because I was like, if anybody else
- 7:19Speaker 2: is having issues, here you go. They filmed the whole
- 7:24Speaker 2: music video. Asante Madrigal. Hold on. Let me see who
- 7:29Speaker 2: this person is. Asante Madrigal.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It seems to be out now.
- 7:36Speaker 1: OK, maybe they just were trying to push people to
- 7:38Speaker 1: watch the VMAs. Maybe.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 2: But I needed to see it. And the music video
- 7:42Speaker 2: made me love it even more. And I'm like, I
- 7:45Speaker 2: want to see the feature film of this music video.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The music video was really good. And I loved the
- 7:51Speaker 1: at the end when you realize she was just she
- 7:53Speaker 1: was knocking all the drinks out of her hand.
- 7:55Speaker 2: As a ghost.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because she had been poisoned and she was like,
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't drink these because you're going to get poisoned.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I thought she was just trying to get her attention.
- 8:03Speaker 1: No, she was trying to, like, make sure she didn't
- 8:06Speaker 1: drink the poison.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I'm learning more and more every day.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. The music video is really good.
- 8:14Speaker 2: But honestly, like, our FaceTime made me so happy.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 2: We need to do that once a week.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. This is, like, better than FaceTime, though, no?
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but this plus a FaceTime.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But we do this, and then we do another episode
- 8:28Speaker 1: every Thursday. And then plus a FaceTime.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Maybe like once a month we do a FaceTime.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Once a month?
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'm trying to get dinner with you and it's impossible.
- 8:37Speaker 1: She's like, I have date night. I'm like, you see
- 8:40Speaker 1: this man every night. Come on. Do you hear this, Mark?
- 8:45Speaker 1: I'm trying to schedule a dinner with her, have a
- 8:47Speaker 1: bestie dinner, an intentional time. And she goes, I can
- 8:51Speaker 1: just stop by after work on Wednesday during the day.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I'm like, can we not have a cute dinner?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Well, that's interesting, Tanya.
- 8:56Speaker 2: First of all, I asked for Thursday. She can't do Thursday.
- 8:59Speaker 2: You see your person all the time. Why can't you
- 9:01Speaker 2: do Thursday?
- 9:01Speaker 1: But Robbie said he could do tonight on FaceTime.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yes, but I might be on Valium.
- 9:05Speaker 3: That's not how you pronounce that word.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Volume.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Turn up the volume.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So it might not be able to happen tonight.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Well, that is an extenuating circumstance.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Thank you, Mark. I'm just saying, right back at you, babe.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Why can't y'all do Thursday night?
- 9:23Speaker 2: Because we have the kids on Thursday.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Oh, I see. Yeah. It's tough. Listen, it's tough. Life
- 9:29Speaker 1: is busy. Life is fun. But we can certainly incorporate
- 9:33Speaker 1: more FaceTimes if that makes you happy.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Although I will say I was nice that you got
- 9:38Speaker 2: a glimpse of what I have to deal with on
- 9:40Speaker 2: Sundays because Robbie would like he got in about an
- 9:44Speaker 2: hour and a half in. So he was really only
- 9:46Speaker 2: there for like the last half hour. But he was
- 9:48Speaker 2: watching football and he would like ask Becca a question.
- 9:51Speaker 2: and then she would answer the question, and he would
- 9:53Speaker 2: scream at the TV, not even paying attention to what
- 9:56Speaker 2: Becca's saying.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Because he's watching the football game.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It wasn't like I was engaging in the conversation. He's like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 1: how's Phoebe? What's the update with her health stuff? And
- 10:04Speaker 1: then I go into this long thing, but I don't
- 10:07Speaker 1: care to talk about that anymore. And then he's like, no. No,
- 10:10Speaker 1: we'll fumble. I'm like, excuse me? She's answering your question.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I already know how Phoebe is.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And you don't even have the decency to listen to her? Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 1: he was locked in.
- 10:23Speaker 2: This is what I get every Sunday.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Well, it's kind of nice because you can do your
- 10:27Speaker 1: own thing and he's entertained.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so when I need him to answer some questions,
- 10:33Speaker 2: it's tough.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he was locked in.
- 10:35Speaker 2: He was locked in.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Did you watch the... Okay, there's a few things to
- 10:41Speaker 1: talk about. Dancing with the Stars. We'll just go in
- 10:43Speaker 1: order of things that happen.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I guess now that we've already covered what happened yesterday.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Well, the VMAs, I feel like we should start there
- 10:50Speaker 2: since those were last night.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So I watched the first half and then I tuned out.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm very confused. And I know Madonna is like an
- 10:58Speaker 1: icon and whatnot, but I was very confused by her
- 11:01Speaker 1: winning so many awards.
- 11:02Speaker 3: To me, that throws the entire credibility of the video musical.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yes, totally.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Which, by the way, didn't have a lot of credibility
- 11:08Speaker 3: to begin with.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:09Speaker 3: But artist of the year in 2026 is Madonna?
- 11:12Speaker 2: No.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Somebody's getting paid.
- 11:14Speaker 1: With the powerhouses we have in the pop world right now.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It was Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Ariana Grande.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It was giving Madonna agreed to perform. Let's give her
- 11:26Speaker 2: whatever she demands.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I agree.
- 11:30Speaker 2: It was too much.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah. There's like a way of honoring her, like an
- 11:36Speaker 1: icon award or whatever. Something like that.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But, right.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yes, let's make up a totally new, I would rather make.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Up a totally new award. Legend, like Taylor gets this
- 11:50Speaker 2: new award. Legend of 2026 award goes to Madonna. Like,
- 11:54Speaker 2: and do a whole honoree, honoree, honor-roar. Of her and
- 11:59Speaker 2: have some people come up and sing Madonna songs.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: But to do what they did.
- 12:06Speaker 1: They could have done a Glee medley. Like a Glee
- 12:09Speaker 1: medley of Madonna songs. Do you remember the Glee episode
- 12:12Speaker 1: of Madonna?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yes, amazing idea.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They could have brought the Glee cast back together to
- 12:17Speaker 1: do it. I have ideas for next year.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I was very concerned because I was watching the carpet
- 12:22Speaker 2: and I was just like, am I old or who
- 12:24Speaker 2: are these people? Like both. No, no, because I'm very
- 12:29Speaker 2: tuned in. I'm very keyed in to like.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Not to influencers. You're not.
- 12:33Speaker 2: This guy was like Spider-Man or Superman or something. They
- 12:37Speaker 2: were showing this guy on the red carpet for, I swear,
- 12:40Speaker 2: five minutes, and they didn't have the chyron up to
- 12:42Speaker 2: say who it was. And I'm like, who is this guy?
- 12:44Speaker 2: I had my phone up to the thing asking chat
- 12:47Speaker 2: GPT who he was.
- 12:49Speaker 1: This is boomer energy. Big boomer energy.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I don't even remember his name.
- 12:54Speaker 3: But he played Superman?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yes, but it didn't do well or something. Hold on.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Let me see who he was.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Well, I mean, that sounds like a big gig and
- 13:00Speaker 1: someone that should be there if he was in Superman
- 13:02Speaker 1: that came out this year.
- 13:03Speaker 3: David Cornswet?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Let me see the photo.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I need the photo of him on the carpet.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Who doesn't know David Cornsweat?
- 13:12Speaker 3: It's a household name. Are you kidding?
- 13:14Speaker 2: And then they showed his, I think it's his girlfriend
- 13:18Speaker 2: that was also on the carpet. with him for a
- 13:21Speaker 2: very long time and I was.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Like, okay. This is why anytime I go to events
- 13:25Speaker 1: for a long time, especially post-Bachelor when I was going to,
- 13:28Speaker 1: because I'd get invited to go to like the AMAs
- 13:30Speaker 1: and things that I had no association with but I
- 13:33Speaker 1: was posting about it, you know, as like the influencer
- 13:35Speaker 1: in the influencer space and I hated red carpets because
- 13:38Speaker 1: of what you're doing right now. Yes.
- 13:41Speaker 2: It was David Cornsweat and his girlfriend or fiance, I'm
- 13:46Speaker 2: not sure.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Well, they look amazing. Yes.
- 13:49Speaker 2: But like, who are you? Like, I don't know who
- 13:52Speaker 2: you are. And, um, it happened several times. So then
- 13:56Speaker 2: I was like concerned for myself. I was like, yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 2: I was concerned. I thought I was like, this looks
- 14:00Speaker 2: like a me problem. Cause there was multiple people walking
- 14:02Speaker 2: the red carpet, but the performers and, and like the
- 14:06Speaker 2: slate of people that were at the VMAs, I was
- 14:09Speaker 2: really high quality Bruno Mars, Madonna, somber Ray, like Taylor Swift,
- 14:15Speaker 2: you know, like it was a whole.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 2: So I don't really know where I netted out on
- 14:20Speaker 2: how I felt about.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Well, I think the live stream, I don't think the
- 14:23Speaker 1: big hitters come when the live stream's happening. Maybe till
- 14:26Speaker 1: the end. So maybe you just missed their arrivals.
- 14:29Speaker 2: It didn't make me feel great.
- 14:32Speaker 1: You know, one of my biggest pet peeves is when
- 14:34Speaker 1: someone posts red carpet stuff or photos or videos of
- 14:38Speaker 1: celebrities or influencers, and then all the comments are like,
- 14:41Speaker 1: and we care why? Who is this? And I'm like,
- 14:44Speaker 1: just because you don't know or... Or take in their
- 14:47Speaker 1: content doesn't mean that they're like nobodies. You know what
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm saying?
- 14:52Speaker 2: It's not about nobodies. It's about it's a video music awards.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Like if you're in music, I should know who you are.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But I felt justified because this person was not in music.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 1: People are going to be on the carpet who are
- 15:04Speaker 1: not in music.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Which is really what I netted out with.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we were going back and forth. I asked
- 15:11Speaker 1: you this because I watched the recaps of the iconic performances.
- 15:17Speaker 1: And when we had NSYNC and Justin Timberlake and Britney
- 15:20Speaker 1: Spears and it was J-Lo, all those people, it was
- 15:25Speaker 1: such an iconic time. But is that how everyone feels
- 15:29Speaker 1: about their generation and the next generation, Mark? Like, you
- 15:33Speaker 1: know how, I feel like when I used to watch it,
- 15:35Speaker 1: my parents.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Would be like, oh, this is so trashy.
- 15:39Speaker 1: This is not anything like what we had. And are
- 15:42Speaker 1: we doing that to this generation?
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely. That's inevitable and will never stop happening. The
- 15:48Speaker 3: nice thing is like, you know, working here, I get
- 15:51Speaker 3: to know the stuff that my kids are into for
- 15:54Speaker 3: the most part. But then they'll play something and I'm like,
- 15:56Speaker 3: this is garbage, you guys. You can't be listening to this.
- 15:58Speaker 3: This is awful. This is terrible. And they're like, oh, dad,
- 16:01Speaker 3: you're so old. So there's always going to happen.
- 16:03Speaker 1: There are some icons in every generation that will stand
- 16:06Speaker 1: the test of time.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:07Speaker 1: But I also was like, was the millennium... era superior
- 16:12Speaker 1: was that just our era just you no I also
- 16:15Speaker 1: don't think it.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Was superior because I think we've had some good VMAs
- 16:18Speaker 2: in the last like five years.
- 16:20Speaker 1: No but I'm just saying that time in general with
- 16:22Speaker 1: music and music.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Videos yes but I still think that like that time
- 16:26Speaker 2: is now I just think this one in particular fell
- 16:31Speaker 2: flat for you.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Didn't quite hit for me and by the way it's
- 16:33Speaker 3: not just music It's a lot of the phone stuff
- 16:36Speaker 3: and the app stuff like Snapchat. I hate Snapchat. I
- 16:39Speaker 3: don't get Snapchat. Exactly. But Snapchat is lost on me.
- 16:44Speaker 3: As much as I try to keep up with this stuff,
- 16:46Speaker 3: I'm like... You know, like my daughter sent me something
- 16:49Speaker 3: the other day, but I was like in a meeting
- 16:50Speaker 3: or something, and I see it, but I can't turn
- 16:52Speaker 3: the volume up, but she's talking into the Snapchat. Oh,
- 16:54Speaker 3: I'll just watch that later. No, I won't.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Nope.
- 16:57Speaker 3: It plays one time and you never get to see
- 16:58Speaker 3: it again. So, yeah, I hate it.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I did like that. I remember before, in my day,
- 17:04Speaker 1: before Instagram had stories.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Oh, man, here we go.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Before Instagram had stories, everyone was on Snapchat. And then
- 17:11Speaker 1: Instagram got stories, and I felt like Snapchat kind of died,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and then it came back with a resurgence. And I
- 17:18Speaker 1: haven't gotten back on the resurgence. So Snapchat's long, long
- 17:21Speaker 1: gone for me. Well, you're not on Snapchat.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I am actually. Thank you so much.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Are you posting?
- 17:28Speaker 2: I'm talking to people on Snapchat. Two people.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Who? Sebby and Oliver.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That's one of them. Yes, that's one of them. And Robbie.
- 17:39Speaker 2: That's neither here nor there. Anyways.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Well, um, What do you think Patient Zero is about
- 17:47Speaker 1: and who do you think it's about based on the
- 17:49Speaker 1: music video?
- 17:50Speaker 2: So the music video made me feel like it was
- 17:53Speaker 2: Mattie Healy because Colin Farrell looks so much like him.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Don't you think?
- 18:01Speaker 1: No.
- 18:01Speaker 3: What?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Mark, can you pull up a side by side?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Wait, do you know who I thought looks so much
- 18:06Speaker 1: like Mattie Healy in one of her videos that I
- 18:08Speaker 1: was like, this is for sure is Fortnite with Post Malone.
- 18:14Speaker 1: He looks so similar to Mattie Healy.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Post Malone looks like Mattie Healy? That has me shook
- 18:20Speaker 2: a little bit, but I'll do a side-by-side of those.
- 18:23Speaker 2: So I thought that it was Mattie Healy from the
- 18:27Speaker 2: music video, but then I thought it was Joe Alwyn
- 18:29Speaker 2: from the lyrics.
- 18:31Speaker 1: But who is she? You think she's talking to that
- 18:33Speaker 1: girl that he was just dating?
- 18:35Speaker 3: Joe Alwyn?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:37Speaker 2: No, I don't think we know who the girl is
- 18:38Speaker 2: because he's so secretive.
- 18:40Speaker 1: People were saying Sophie and Joe.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I know what people were saying, but I don't believe
- 18:44Speaker 2: these people because Joe Jonas is not. It's just not
- 18:48Speaker 2: about Joe Jonas. It's just not. I know it's not.
- 18:52Speaker 2: And so we need to look elsewhere.
- 18:54Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I got Maddie.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Healy and Colin Farrell in the Patient Zero music video.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Side by side. Thank you so much.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I met Colin Farrell one time. He was so nice.
- 19:04Speaker 2: At a wedding?
- 19:05Speaker 1: No, we didn't. We were at a pool right after
- 19:09Speaker 1: we got engaged and we were at a spa and
- 19:11Speaker 1: we were at the pool and we were trying to
- 19:13Speaker 1: take selfies and he was like, do you want me
- 19:15Speaker 1: to take a picture for y'all? And we were like,
- 19:16Speaker 1: oh yeah. And he was like, what are you? What?
- 19:18Speaker 1: And he goes, what are you?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Where was this story when you came back from Mallorca?
- 19:21Speaker 1: No, this wasn't in Mallorca. This was in LA like
- 19:24Speaker 1: a month after and we were just at a spa
- 19:26Speaker 1: celebrating our engagement and and we were like holding up
- 19:30Speaker 1: champagne and he was like oh what are y'all celebrating
- 19:32Speaker 1: and we were like oh we just got engaged and
- 19:33Speaker 1: he was like so nice congratulations so I will always.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Have a soft spot yeah wow.
- 19:40Speaker 1: He was really nice where was that story.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Yeah why are we just hearing about this oh hey
- 19:43Speaker 4: it's Easton by the way.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Easton's joined the chat. Sometimes I hold my cards close
- 19:49Speaker 1: until it feels like a good time and this felt
- 19:51Speaker 1: like a good time.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I always, well, yeah, I don't need to compare Colin
- 19:55Speaker 2: Farrell to somebody that I don't enjoy.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 19:57Speaker 3: I have the side-by-side.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:59Speaker 3: This is Mattie Healy, Colin Farrell. Wow.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Twins.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Those are two white men.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Identical twins.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Those are two men from European countries.
- 20:13Speaker 2: So anyways, that's kind of where my head's at.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:17Speaker 2: You believe the Joe Jonas rumors?
- 20:19Speaker 1: No, I didn't think so. I feel like everything to
- 20:23Speaker 1: me is maybe it came to life from an idea,
- 20:26Speaker 1: like a shallow idea, and then she just creates something
- 20:30Speaker 1: more extreme and difficult. I mean, not difficult. more extreme and.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Detailed with her own mind yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah to make it a story to make it interesting
- 20:40Speaker 1: yeah but like do I think it's that exact situation.
- 20:44Speaker 2: No like also what I didn't realize is like all
- 20:47Speaker 2: these like did you know Matthew Stafford's in the patient
- 20:49Speaker 2: zero music video do you know who that is he's
- 20:51Speaker 2: a football player oh the quarterback.
- 20:53Speaker 1: For the Rams yeah no what is oh is he
- 20:55Speaker 1: just oh and Cara Delevingne yeah yeah yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Like all these little easter eggs are coming out I'm
- 21:00Speaker 2: like I love it so much. Oh, do you know
- 21:05Speaker 2: what we have to talk about? A scrubber that is
- 21:11Speaker 2: on a new hit show. Well, the show is not new.
- 21:14Speaker 2: The show is old.
- 21:15Speaker 1: A new season.
- 21:16Speaker 4: It's a hit show.
- 21:16Speaker 2: It's a new season.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Okay, let's take a break and we'll be right back.
- 21:37Speaker 1: We're back.
- 21:37Speaker 4: We're back.
- 21:40Speaker 1: So we were talking about A Scrubber is on a
- 21:45Speaker 1: new season of one of y'all's favorite shows. Yes, correct.
- 21:49Speaker 1: An iconic show.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:51Speaker 1: A reality show that people dream of being on their
- 21:54Speaker 1: whole life, really.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Which is basically what she did.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 2: She dreamed of this her whole life.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Let the people know.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Her name is Jenna, and she is on this new
- 22:03Speaker 2: season of Survivor. It's season 51.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Yep.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And do you know what's crazy is because I was
- 22:10Speaker 2: looking into her because everybody's like, oh, my gosh, there's
- 22:12Speaker 2: going to be a scrubber this season on Survivor, yada, yada, yada.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I have like DMs with her for like years. I've
- 22:20Speaker 2: like DMed with her for years.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Oh, that's fun. So you like know her a little bit. Yeah.
- 22:25Speaker 2: And it was like all about Survivor. And like she
- 22:30Speaker 2: would comment on like my pics and stuff like that.
- 22:34Speaker 2: But what I found so funny is she like manifested this.
- 22:37Speaker 2: So she's a wedding photographer and she had this Survivor
- 22:41Speaker 2: clause in her wedding contracts saying, So if she was
- 22:44Speaker 2: to photograph your wedding, there would be a clause in
- 22:46Speaker 2: there saying that if she got picked to be on Survivor,
- 22:49Speaker 2: the contract's null and void because she's going to take
- 22:51Speaker 2: the spot on Survivor.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Fourth dimensional thinking.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Wow. How amazing.
- 22:55Speaker 2: But I don't even know how long that was in
- 22:57Speaker 2: the contracts for, but like... That's some manifesting right there.
- 23:01Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: That's how we need to live life. That's how we
- 23:05Speaker 1: need to be moving. Literally.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Um, so we still signed it. And let me tell
- 23:10Speaker 2: you something. If I had a wedding, I did have
- 23:12Speaker 2: a wedding contract and they said, I'm, if I get
- 23:15Speaker 2: called to survivor, I'm leaving. I'm not going to photograph
- 23:17Speaker 2: your wedding. I would not sign that contract.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'd be a little bit nervous as well. Um, So we...
- 23:24Speaker 1: Haley had watched the last season. 50. Yeah, and she
- 23:27Speaker 1: really enjoyed it. So then we saw there was the
- 23:29Speaker 1: new season coming on, and so we started it. But
- 23:32Speaker 1: I kind of tuned in here and there because I
- 23:33Speaker 1: wanted to see which one Jenna was.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And, um... The beginning where Jeff is walking around on
- 23:41Speaker 1: the boat with this weird camera stuff, we were like, what?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Is this normal? So that's like old school.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So that's like old school Survivor Days. They always used
- 23:48Speaker 2: to start them on a boat, and then they would
- 23:50Speaker 2: have to paddle to their... But the way he's walking
- 23:53Speaker 2: around talking, that's... That's old school. He hasn't done that
- 23:56Speaker 2: in like 20 years or something.
- 23:58Speaker 1: So as fans, do you all get hyped?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Do you like that? Yes, we were stoked. Because we
- 24:03Speaker 2: were like, what's happening? But you know what's so funny?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Spoiler alert, if anybody's watching this season.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Hey, what do I.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Spoiler alert. Jenna had a rough first episode. I was
- 24:15Speaker 2: worried about her. And I was just like, of course,
- 24:17Speaker 2: the scrubber. I'm fully in it with the scrubber.
- 24:19Speaker 1: We don't need the energy, of course. We need to say, she's...
- 24:25Speaker 1: A survivor.
- 24:26Speaker 2: But yes, but she in fact did not get her
- 24:30Speaker 2: torch snuffed and lives to see another day. And I
- 24:33Speaker 2: was like, now I feel like they've created a storyline
- 24:35Speaker 2: with her. So now I'm like, she's in it.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 2: In it to win it.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like it's exciting that she got attention
- 24:41Speaker 1: on her.
- 24:41Speaker 2: We should definitely try and get her on the podcast.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I don't know if they're allowed to do interviews while
- 24:45Speaker 2: the season's airing. but I'm not gonna let our bookers
- 24:49Speaker 2: handle this. I'm gonna handle this on my own.
- 24:50Speaker 1: You got direct access.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna go direct contact with this one.
- 24:55Speaker 3: The tribe is spoken.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Would that be a dream reality show for you
- 25:02Speaker 1: to go on? No. Oh. Mark, would you ever go
- 25:05Speaker 1: on it?
- 25:05Speaker 3: No. I'd be terrible on Survivor.
- 25:07Speaker 1: But you love watching.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I think I'd be good at the social element, lying
- 25:12Speaker 3: low and kind of blending in and not calling attention
- 25:15Speaker 3: to yourself. I've learned a lot over watching all these seasons,
- 25:18Speaker 3: but I couldn't handle any of the physical, any of
- 25:20Speaker 3: the starvation, any of that stuff.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Starvation.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Any of it.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Also, the outfit they start in is their clothing, right?
- 25:27Speaker 2: I think they have a couple outfits. Like I think
- 25:29Speaker 2: they have, they have like these big bags and it's like,
- 25:30Speaker 2: whatever can they can stuff in there.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Cause some of the girls in dresses, I was like,
- 25:34Speaker 1: this was a choice.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I don't know what they tell them, but it is
- 25:38Speaker 2: always weird what they start out in.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Maybe production chooses. Cause when I was on the bachelor,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I had different options for my night one dress and
- 25:45Speaker 1: they came and chose the one that they wanted me
- 25:48Speaker 1: to wear.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Or it was like cohesive.
- 25:50Speaker 1: And I think if I was like, But I really,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I bought this one for it, but I was kind
- 25:54Speaker 1: of like, whichever one y'all like the most.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 1: So that's what I did.
- 25:59Speaker 2: But maybe they chose. It's going to be a good season.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Well, it's fun that there's someone to obviously root for.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 1: What if she gets a villain edit? Are you still
- 26:08Speaker 1: going to publicly root for her?
- 26:10Speaker 2: I don't think she can get a villain. Well, she
- 26:11Speaker 2: kind of got it in the first episode.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So what if that becomes her story?
- 26:16Speaker 2: I got her back.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I know.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I feel the same. Yeah. I don't believe villains are
- 26:19Speaker 1: really villains on reality television.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Well, they're like, this is the best part is they're like,
- 26:24Speaker 2: they don't believe that she's a wedding photographer. And I'm like, yeah,
- 26:28Speaker 2: you guys are going to watch this back and be like,
- 26:30Speaker 2: how dumb were we?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Also, spoiler alert on traitors. The first woman that went
- 26:35Speaker 1: home when she said she is a lawyer, but she
- 26:37Speaker 1: didn't want to tell everyone. So she said she was
- 26:39Speaker 1: a basketball coach. Yeah. And then she got killed. Dang,
- 26:45Speaker 1: the confidence of coming in and having a fake storyline
- 26:48Speaker 1: and job.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Dang. To be killed night one.
- 26:51Speaker 1: It's tough.
- 26:53Speaker 2: That's a show I would do.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Traitors. Yeah. OK, so there's this debate about Gen Z
- 26:59Speaker 1: coming into job interviews with iced coffee and how it's
- 27:03Speaker 1: totally unprofessional. And why would anyone hire someone who's comes
- 27:07Speaker 1: in with an iced coffee? And I need to hear
- 27:09Speaker 1: everyone's takes on this.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I think it's absolutely disgusting.
- 27:15Speaker 1: To come in with iced coffee.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Not even an interview, just walking around in public with
- 27:20Speaker 2: an iced coffee. They drip, they spill, they get water-like
- 27:24Speaker 2: rings on every table they touch. Condensation. It's just giving sloppy.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Mark?
- 27:31Speaker 3: I'm interviewing for a new position with the morning show,
- 27:34Speaker 3: and the person comes in and they have an iced
- 27:36Speaker 3: coffee with them. I'm fine. That doesn't bother me. Enjoy.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I think that's okay.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I think there's different jobs where it would be more
- 27:45Speaker 1: of a.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Like what?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Like a corporate job where you're having to get dressed
- 27:50Speaker 1: up and go into an office and meet with someone
- 27:52Speaker 1: as opposed to like, Mark, do you meet them here
- 27:55Speaker 1: just casually?
- 27:56Speaker 3: Potentially, sure. In this right here, in this room.
- 28:00Speaker 1: But this wouldn't be a room where you would want
- 28:02Speaker 1: someone to come in with a watery ice drink because
- 28:04Speaker 1: there's a lot of equipment.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I wouldn't care.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Wow, okay.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I've been in people's cities where Tanya's sitting right now.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I don't want to spill coffee all over
- 28:13Speaker 4: my beautiful piece of equipment.
- 28:14Speaker 3: If they spilled coffee, I would think less of them,
- 28:15Speaker 3: but they just brought in a coffee. It wouldn't bother me.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Let's eliminate the variable. I think you don't do it
- 28:20Speaker 4: at all.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Sounds like an engineer talking.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Hey, that's right. You come in with a calculator. That's
- 28:25Speaker 4: what I say you do. No, I just, cause if
- 28:28Speaker 4: I was interviewing someone, which I used to do in
- 28:30Speaker 4: another job I had once, I would think, You couldn't
- 28:33Speaker 4: get your act together enough to slurp that sucker down
- 28:34Speaker 4: before he walked in this room Like like do you
- 28:36Speaker 4: need you need that? It's not water. It was a
- 28:39Speaker 4: bottle of water. I would care There's someone very close
- 28:43Speaker 4: to me and I'm not sure if she would appreciate
- 28:44Speaker 4: me telling this story But she had a job interview
- 28:46Speaker 4: and they offered her a water and she took the
- 28:48Speaker 4: water and then brought it into the meeting with the
- 28:51Speaker 4: hiring person put the water on the desk went to
- 28:53Speaker 4: go shake her hand spill the water everywhere and Didn't
- 28:55Speaker 4: get the job. So I'm just saying the possibility of
- 29:00Speaker 4: you spilling is zero if you don't have a beverage.
- 29:03Speaker 1: My take on it is a job interview is max
- 29:09Speaker 1: an hour, max an hour if it's really extensive. And
- 29:12Speaker 1: that's on the really long end. Can you not not
- 29:15Speaker 1: have a beverage for one hour?
- 29:17Speaker 2: Like leave it in the car. Slurp it down when
- 29:19Speaker 2: you get back.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Or just set it outside. Put it down and say like, hey,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I'm just going to put this here. Yeah, or throw
- 29:26Speaker 1: it away. I don't know. At first, I was like,
- 29:30Speaker 1: this is such a ridiculous thing because why can't someone
- 29:32Speaker 1: just bring in their coffee? But the more I think
- 29:34Speaker 1: about it, the more I'm like, yeah, I just I
- 29:36Speaker 1: don't think it's something you need in that in that
- 29:40Speaker 1: place in time personally.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It's giving selfish but like if someone.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Came in and I met them and I was interviewing
- 29:48Speaker 1: them for like an assistant job or something I wouldn't
- 29:50Speaker 1: care if they had a nice coffee I just think
- 29:52Speaker 1: it's a different it depends on the environment I'm not
- 29:54Speaker 1: going to care if typically I'd probably go meet for
- 29:57Speaker 1: coffee to interview someone you know But I think coming
- 30:02Speaker 1: into a place of work where you're trying to be
- 30:04Speaker 1: considered professional and be taken seriously, I think it's just
- 30:08Speaker 1: a better look to leave any and all beverages out.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Even your water canteen. Okay, let's relax on.
- 30:15Speaker 4: The water canteens, okay?
- 30:17Speaker 3: Well, that's a whole other thing. Good Lord. The fact
- 30:20Speaker 3: that no one can go anywhere without a giant jug
- 30:22Speaker 3: of water, that's a whole other issue.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I know.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Are you defending it? I don't understand the response.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. And we're back on the aluminum. I see. What?
- 30:36Speaker 1: Because you had gone to glass.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Ah, yes, yes, yeah. I'm back on the aluminum. Because
- 30:42Speaker 2: my glass ones didn't have lids, so they were easily spillable. Yes,
- 30:47Speaker 2: this has a nice lid and she's sturdy and strong.
- 30:50Speaker 2: But I feel if I don't have a water bottle
- 30:52Speaker 2: with me, I don't know when the next time I'm
- 30:53Speaker 2: going to drink is.
- 30:54Speaker 3: And yet you'll get there. You will drink again.
- 30:57Speaker 2: No, like today I left my house so early and
- 30:59Speaker 2: I'm not going to get back until like four.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 3: We have water here. There's water out there. There's water
- 31:04Speaker 3: over there. There's water bottles on the fourth floor. There's
- 31:07Speaker 3: lots of plates. Yeah. There's cups right here.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Nah, we don't always have cups.
- 31:09Speaker 3: There's a ton of coffee cups.
- 31:11Speaker 2: We ran out of paper towels last week.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Well, someone needs to get on their supply order.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. You know who would never bring an iced
- 31:20Speaker 2: coffee in?
- 31:21Speaker 1: Who?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Contestants on dancing with the stars oh.
- 31:24Speaker 1: What a transition that was a tough transition but i
- 31:27Speaker 1: appreciated it um.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I'm not excited about this week because i don't like
- 31:34Speaker 2: the songs.
- 31:36Speaker 5: It's yacht rock week yeah it's what yacht rock week
- 31:42Speaker 5: What does that mean?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Luther Vandross, Toto.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I don't even think Luther Vandross is yacht rock. Toto is.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Paul and Oates yacht rock.
- 31:49Speaker 3: There was an era, late 70s, early 80s, that they've
- 31:52Speaker 3: now dubbed yacht rock because it's kind of like, I
- 31:55Speaker 3: don't know, they get rich white people music. Like Doobie Brothers.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Yacht rock.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Older, richer people.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Orleans. I love Fleetwood Mac. I mean, I love Luther
- 32:06Speaker 1: Vandross music. I don't think he's Yacht Rock.
- 32:09Speaker 4: And Rupert Holmes?
- 32:10Speaker 3: I don't think he's Yacht Rock. Don't know much about
- 32:11Speaker 3: Rupert Holmes. You know that song. That's the Pina Colada song.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Africa? Africa's great. Is that the... Nope.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Oh, that's Shakira.
- 32:20Speaker 4: That's Shakira.
- 32:22Speaker 3: What's Toto?
- 32:22Speaker 1: The rain.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Oh, I also love that, too.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Yeah, Maneater.
- 32:31Speaker 3: That's a good one. Hall & Oates. Hall & Oates
- 32:34Speaker 3: heavily featured this week in Yacht Rock.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Who are you... So I gave a loose top ten,
- 32:40Speaker 1: and now I'm locking in my top three. I'm locking
- 32:44Speaker 1: in my top three.
- 32:44Speaker 2: You really shouldn't get three. You should get top two.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Because it's the winner and the runner-up, essentially. There's no third, respectfully. Okay.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So do you need some time to kick someone to
- 32:56Speaker 2: the can?
- 32:56Speaker 1: So I can't... Yeah. I'm torn because... I'm really rooting
- 33:01Speaker 1: for Amber.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:03Speaker 1: She's amazing. And I actually really, I think I want
- 33:06Speaker 1: to see Pasha and Daniela together in the finals.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Oh, in the finale. Yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 1: But the top three typically perform in the finale. So
- 33:13Speaker 1: that's why I'm giving top three. This is not top two, right?
- 33:16Speaker 1: I think it's top three.
- 33:17Speaker 2: You're asking somebody who's watching for the first time. You're right.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I want Ezra, Freck, and Daniela. I want Amber and Pasha.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And my third is Maura and Mark.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 33:29Speaker 1: But there's so many. I'm torn.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I want Ezra and Daniela, and I want Maura and Mark.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I have a bone to pick because... Well, the numbers
- 33:39Speaker 1: were so weird last week, the scoring. I did not understand.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Jenna Dewan does basically a perfect dance, and she gets
- 33:45Speaker 1: a seven. And then someone who does... has multiple mistakes
- 33:49Speaker 1: and stuff gets a six. And I'm like, I don't
- 33:51Speaker 1: get it.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I think what they're trying to do with the Jenna
- 33:53Speaker 2: and the Harry is like, they came straight out of
- 33:57Speaker 2: the gate with tens, but they can't just give them
- 33:59Speaker 2: tens week one and two, because then what do they, but.
- 34:02Speaker 1: You have to give the, the, the, the reality is
- 34:04Speaker 1: there's the separation. And so they could have at least
- 34:07Speaker 1: done some eights and then kept the other people at
- 34:09Speaker 1: sixes or below and, But my bone is with Guillermo
- 34:14Speaker 1: and Whitney because last week, or the first week, it
- 34:17Speaker 1: felt like, okay, Guillermo, people love him and they want
- 34:21Speaker 1: him to do well, but he's not, like, I don't
- 34:24Speaker 1: know that he's going to be a contender with this cast.
- 34:27Speaker 1: But then last week he locked in and he took
- 34:30Speaker 1: it so seriously. And he did such a great job
- 34:33Speaker 1: at like executing what he was given and what he's
- 34:36Speaker 1: capable of. And I feel like Whitney did such great
- 34:38Speaker 1: choreography to make him better. And I'm like, that's what
- 34:42Speaker 1: the show is about. And people are like, no, you
- 34:44Speaker 1: can't vote for him. He's taking a spot of a
- 34:46Speaker 1: good dancer. But I'm like, the whole point is to
- 34:48Speaker 1: watch someone learn.
- 34:51Speaker 2: And he did that from week one to two. A
- 34:53Speaker 2: hundred percent.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Significant upgrade. And he got all fours and he deserved
- 34:59Speaker 1: at least one five.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I was thinking this when we were watching last week.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I was like, I do not have the thick skin
- 35:04Speaker 2: to be on Dancing with the Stars. If I was
- 35:06Speaker 2: up there and they were flashing four, which I'd probably
- 35:09Speaker 2: get twos, to be honest. If they're flashing fours in
- 35:11Speaker 2: my faces and giving me those critiques, I would literally
- 35:14Speaker 2: just start sobbing. Like, I don't know how none of
- 35:15Speaker 2: these people cry. Not one of them cries and they're
- 35:18Speaker 2: giving them harsh critiques, okay? And you just spent an
- 35:21Speaker 2: entire week learning this dance and you're getting flashed threes
- 35:25Speaker 2: and saying you're shaky. Like, I would be bawling. Like,
- 35:30Speaker 2: I would literally, I don't know how none of them cry.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I don't understand.
- 35:34Speaker 1: That part killed me. We laughed so hard at that because, so,
- 35:39Speaker 1: Gianna and Alan went to It definitely felt like there
- 35:41Speaker 1: was tension between them. I didn't think either of them
- 35:43Speaker 1: were having a great time, personally.
- 35:45Speaker 3: It was bad.
- 35:45Speaker 2: It was very bad.
- 35:46Speaker 1: And then the dance, the bell, the chow, the chow,
- 35:49Speaker 1: the chow, chow. And then Carrie Ann says that she
- 35:54Speaker 1: gets one word to describe the dance. Which, by the way,
- 35:56Speaker 1: is insane.
- 35:57Speaker 2: You're watching a show for these critiques and these judges,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and the last person has to give one word?
- 36:02Speaker 3: Like, what?
- 36:03Speaker 1: They were rushing through because there were so much... to
- 36:06Speaker 1: do but you can stop the.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Other chitter chatter and maybe the troop dances like let
- 36:10Speaker 2: us hear the judges speak like Carrie Ann goes shaky
- 36:15Speaker 2: I would have been sobbing. If I were Gianna, I
- 36:18Speaker 2: would have been sobbing. Yeah, I would have been like,
- 36:20Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Peace out. And crying. I got a life.
- 36:23Speaker 3: I got a career. I don't need to deal with
- 36:25Speaker 3: this crap.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I don't need this.
- 36:26Speaker 2: I would be a mess. And I'm like, how are
- 36:29Speaker 2: none of these people crying? Even if I was Guillermo
- 36:31Speaker 2: last week, I would have been crying.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I know. Justice for Guillermo.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It makes me laugh because every time they go through,
- 36:39Speaker 1: Whitney just seems like, okay, okay, I have another week,
- 36:43Speaker 1: another week to do this.
- 36:44Speaker 2: And no shade to the judges. Like, that's what they
- 36:46Speaker 2: have to do. Like, that's their job, you know? Like,
- 36:48Speaker 2: they critique it. And they're not saying anything, like, mean
- 36:51Speaker 2: to be nasty. They're saying things that are, like, true,
- 36:54Speaker 2: you know? But, like, I don't know. It is— I would
- 36:58Speaker 2: be really— having a hard time.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I feel like i need julia styles to just relax
- 37:06Speaker 1: and have fun it feels very.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I'm i can't with her i.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Just want her to let her guard down she comes
- 37:13Speaker 1: across very tense and guarded yeah and i'm like go tango.
- 37:19Speaker 2: You know who won it last week ezra ezra's.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry but like he's amazing how do you.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Beat that how does he be how is he gonna
- 37:28Speaker 2: top that this week when is he dancing The foxtrot
- 37:31Speaker 2: seems rough.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I was watching them talk about.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Seems trotty.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I was watching them talk about the dancing and the
- 37:38Speaker 1: way she is accounting for the way his prosthetic leg
- 37:44Speaker 1: moves and works and how it hits the ground and
- 37:46Speaker 1: how it shifts his body, how she's having to think
- 37:49Speaker 1: about it is so impressive that her brain knows how
- 37:53Speaker 1: to choreograph around how his... body is shifting on his
- 37:58Speaker 1: weight i.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Don't even to be honest as a viewer i don't
- 38:00Speaker 2: even notice a difference like they're like he's having to
- 38:02Speaker 2: like pass adobe to the side instead of to the
- 38:05Speaker 2: front i'm like could have fooled me.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Well that's why we're sitting on our couch and they're
- 38:10Speaker 1: out there you know.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Yeah but you know what i also as a first-time
- 38:14Speaker 2: watcher i need you to explain something to me because
- 38:16Speaker 2: like everybody's texting me at five o'clock vote for vote
- 38:20Speaker 2: for vote vote vote I haven't even seen any of
- 38:23Speaker 2: the dances. So we're clearly not judging them on their dances.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It's just fandom.
- 38:27Speaker 4: That's a long time complaint with the show, right?
- 38:29Speaker 3: Oh, is it?
- 38:30Speaker 4: Because the voting opens for the East Coast. It technically
- 38:33Speaker 4: closes before the West Coast has seen anything.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I didn't see a thing.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Didn't American Idol fix that somehow? Didn't they change something
- 38:40Speaker 3: so that everyone can vote?
- 38:42Speaker 4: I mean, I think they count the votes, but you
- 38:43Speaker 4: haven't seen.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:45Speaker 1: I'm voting on time.
- 38:47Speaker 4: You're just going on who you like, you know, personally.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Yeah. So basically only the central time zone and East
- 38:55Speaker 1: Coast are really basing it off of what they're seeing.
- 38:58Speaker 1: West Coast is just living on a prayer.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah, which makes me confused.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Guillermo makes me laugh.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that Giada went home because she was the worst dance.
- 39:06Speaker 2: But I'm like, half these people that voted didn't even
- 39:08Speaker 2: see her dance. Do you know what I mean?
- 39:11Speaker 1: I don't think it would have made a difference last week.
- 39:13Speaker 1: But yeah, I do think for maybe once it gets
- 39:15Speaker 1: to the finale, they're... But I don't know how you
- 39:17Speaker 1: fix that. It's just time zones.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Living on a prayer.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Living on a prayer and fandom. Yeah, I i really
- 39:26Speaker 1: there's a it's a really good cast like i and
- 39:29Speaker 1: i really like a lot of the people so i
- 39:31Speaker 1: i feel like i'm gonna be i think i'll be
- 39:33Speaker 1: happy with whoever wins i won't but i know because
- 39:36Speaker 1: you're locked in i'm locked in so there's this new
- 39:39Speaker 1: pose that people are doing um it's called the chest
- 39:46Speaker 1: pose yeah.
- 39:47Speaker 4: I love a new pose Chest rest. Chest rest?
- 39:50Speaker 2: It's like this. Yeah.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I used to do this to make fun of people.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I saw people doing this like 10 years ago.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Doing that?
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Mine was more on the shoulders like this.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 4: So this is the new one?
- 40:04Speaker 1: What do you think are you going to incorporate?
- 40:06Speaker 2: So I never know what to do with my hands.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Whenever I'm taking, especially on a red carpet, it's so
- 40:11Speaker 2: awkward because you can't have them to the side because
- 40:13Speaker 2: then you just like look weird. So I started doing
- 40:15Speaker 2: this thing where like I grab my middle finger, which
- 40:18Speaker 2: also looks ridiculous.
- 40:19Speaker 1: A gentle touch.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It also looks ridiculous because my, I have to show
- 40:24Speaker 2: you this picture from festival because like my other fingers
- 40:26Speaker 2: are just like crooked and like, I don't know what
- 40:30Speaker 2: I'm doing. So I'm thinking this chest pose might be like,
- 40:33Speaker 2: The vibe.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I need to see you do it to know if
- 40:38Speaker 1: it feels comfortable as a viewer.
- 40:41Speaker 4: I have done the finger pose a lot, too, because
- 40:44Speaker 4: I saw Ryan Seacrest do it in a lot of photos.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of when she
- 40:48Speaker 3: mentioned it.
- 40:50Speaker 2: It doesn't look as good on me.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Are you just gently holding your hand?
- 40:55Speaker 4: No, not the hand. You're pulling your fingernail off.
- 40:59Speaker 1: That doesn't feel like it would look good.
- 41:02Speaker 4: It looks cool on Ryan, man. I'm jealous. It looks
- 41:06Speaker 4: dull on me.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Well, millennials, the go-to was the hand on the hip.
- 41:11Speaker 2: You can't do the hand on the hip. That gives
- 41:15Speaker 2: Boomer this.
- 41:17Speaker 1: No, it's not Boomer, though. Oh, no.
- 41:23Speaker 3: You gotta go ring finger, Tanya.
- 41:24Speaker 4: You gotta do index.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Can I do the.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Whole bit photo? You look gorgeous.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Not giving, oh gosh. It's like the claw.
- 41:34Speaker 1: What if you just held your fingers like this? What's
- 41:37Speaker 1: the difference? I think it looks weirder.
- 41:38Speaker 4: You look gorgeous in the photo, but you also look
- 41:40Speaker 4: very shy. I'm too shy to be.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm just going to hold my finger.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I'm nervous.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I didn't know what to do. So I just grabbed
- 41:47Speaker 1: my finger.
- 41:48Speaker 2: But I'm like, had I known the chest pose was in,
- 41:50Speaker 2: I would have done this.
- 41:50Speaker 1: No, you would not have. I do not think you'd
- 41:53Speaker 1: be on the carpet doing this.
- 41:55Speaker 2: It looks good when other people do it.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I haven't seen it yet. So who's the example?
- 41:59Speaker 2: Dua Lipa's doing it. Hailey Bieber's doing it. Kylie Jenner's
- 42:03Speaker 2: doing it. Hailey Bieber might not be doing it. Kylie Jenner,
- 42:06Speaker 2: Dua Lipa for sure.
- 42:07Speaker 1: The photo I saw of Kylie, she was like leaning over,
- 42:10Speaker 1: kind of like.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Well, I can't wait for your next red carpet to
- 42:15Speaker 1: see this in action.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Jingle ball, baby.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I don't mind the finger grab.
- 42:19Speaker 4: Hailey Bieber is doing it. Dua Lipa is doing it.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 42:22Speaker 4: The New York Post is calling this the boob grab.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Oh, the boob grab.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Boob rest. The viral boob rest.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:28Speaker 2: To elongate the rest of my fingers is what I realized.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:31Speaker 1: And that's what I'm saying. Maybe like this.
- 42:33Speaker 2: It's tough.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Maybe a whole coverage.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Taking photos by yourself is so awkward. Like when I watch... Like,
- 42:39Speaker 2: I was watching a video of Taylor Swift on the
- 42:41Speaker 2: carpet from the VMAs and, like, they make it look
- 42:45Speaker 2: like it's nothing. It's so incredibly awkward because... At least
- 42:49Speaker 2: for me, it is.
- 42:50Speaker 1: You know what happens to me is that when they're like, smile,
- 42:54Speaker 1: turn this way, turn this way. I need to just,
- 42:57Speaker 1: I know what my angle is and I know what
- 42:58Speaker 1: face to do. And instead, I'll give a big smile
- 43:01Speaker 1: or do something. And then I see the photos and
- 43:03Speaker 1: I'm like, that's the one they chose. Yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Or they're like over the shoulder. I'm like, okay.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Kick your foot up.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I'm like, okay. it's just bad like taylor just they
- 43:17Speaker 1: lock in and they're like you get what you get
- 43:20Speaker 1: what i'm what i'm giving is what you get yeah so.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Do they shout like poses at you on the red
- 43:26Speaker 4: carpet like like like austin powers like like yeah baby
- 43:29Speaker 4: yeah you're a tiger yeah they're.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Really nice but they'll be like turn around let me
- 43:34Speaker 1: see the back smile let me see that smile and
- 43:37Speaker 1: then i'm like.
- 43:38Speaker 4: That feels so weird.
- 43:40Speaker 1: And then after I've locked in smoldering, the one they
- 43:44Speaker 1: choose is my big corny smile.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they told me to kick my foot up and
- 43:48Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 43:53Speaker 1: They're like, that's the one.
- 43:54Speaker 3: There it is.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Wow. Kick it up, baby. That is so funny.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah, wow.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Wow.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Okay. Something to train. Can we get into the artist's way? Yes. Okay,
- 44:10Speaker 1: let's take a break. Did you start today? I'll tell
- 44:12Speaker 1: you when we come back.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 44:13Speaker 1: We're back. um okay so the artist's way we had
- 44:36Speaker 1: did we talk about this on the podcast or this
- 44:38Speaker 1: was a separate.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I mean we talked about it a long time ago
- 44:41Speaker 2: and actually i had some scrubbers be like i actually
- 44:43Speaker 2: started this the first time you and becca mentioned it
- 44:45Speaker 2: and i finished i'm.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Like oh and that's where sometimes we fail okay yeah
- 44:50Speaker 5: we failed but let me tell you so we had
- 44:52Speaker 5: this discussion after it was actually after the podcast last
- 44:54Speaker 5: week we were in the parking garage having a heart-to-heart
- 44:57Speaker 5: which is where most of our heart to hearts happen
- 45:00Speaker 5: deep in the parking garage.
- 45:02Speaker 2: And we were just talking about how we've just been
- 45:04Speaker 2: feeling a little like stale, stagnant, uninspired, and like, we
- 45:09Speaker 2: bring that energy. Like we're in charge of this podcast.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Like we're in charge of the momentum, the forward movement
- 45:14Speaker 2: of this. And we both just feel for different reasons, stuck, stagnant, whatever.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I was like, this is the time we need the
- 45:21Speaker 2: artist's way. So let's do it. Let's lock in, Becca.
- 45:24Speaker 2: You said, let's do it together. I said, yes, great.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Let's do it together. And what did you not do
- 45:31Speaker 2: this week?
- 45:33Speaker 1: Well, we didn't set a time or date.
- 45:35Speaker 2: We said ASAP. We need this. This is our lifeline.
- 45:37Speaker 2: This is our bloodline.
- 45:38Speaker 1: This is our... I don't think so. Anyways, we didn't
- 45:41Speaker 1: agree on the date. By the way, if you don't
- 45:43Speaker 1: know what The Artist's Way is, it's a workbook that
- 45:45Speaker 1: you do, and it's a 12-week program. So this is
- 45:47Speaker 1: like you are locking in to a big commitment. And
- 45:50Speaker 1: so I was... And my brain works like you start
- 45:54Speaker 1: something new like that on a Monday. Like I'm not
- 45:56Speaker 1: trying to start that on a Thursday. And so Tanya
- 45:59Speaker 1: starts reading the intro, which I've already done. I've read
- 46:01Speaker 1: the intro like multiple times. So I know, I know
- 46:03Speaker 1: what the deal is here. And then she texts me
- 46:06Speaker 1: Thursday and she's like starting my morning pages. And I'm like, oh, okay.
- 46:09Speaker 1: She's going to start before me. Cause I'm not starting
- 46:11Speaker 1: on a Thursday, but that wasn't discussed. So then she
- 46:15Speaker 1: texts me and she's like, did you start artist way?
- 46:18Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, I'm going to start on Monday.
- 46:20Speaker 1: And she goes, we were going to do it together.
- 46:22Speaker 1: I said, well, you started without me. You made that
- 46:24Speaker 1: decision by yourself because we never agreed to a time.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I couldn't wait any longer.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Which is great. I did not care at all because
- 46:29Speaker 1: we're still within the same week of starting. And so
- 46:32Speaker 1: I said, I'm going to start Monday. And guess what?
- 46:34Speaker 1: I started today.
- 46:35Speaker 2: You did your morning pages?
- 46:36Speaker 1: I did. I did my morning pages. Thank you. Thank you. And, yeah,
- 46:46Speaker 1: so we're doing it.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so wait, let's take a look at this. So
- 46:50Speaker 2: technically this is still our week one, so I'll just
- 46:53Speaker 2: count this. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Now we're into Christmas. So the week of December 14th
- 47:01Speaker 2: is when we will finish The Artist's Way.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and basically The Artist's Way is a workbook to
- 47:09Speaker 1: unlock your creative, like inner artist self. And, and I
- 47:14Speaker 1: think it's for a lot of people. I mean, I
- 47:15Speaker 1: think anyone should do it. It's like when you're feeling
- 47:18Speaker 1: stagnant and a lot of times as we get older,
- 47:20Speaker 1: we lose the like freedom of curiosity and creativity that
- 47:24Speaker 1: we had as kids and, and being young and we're
- 47:27Speaker 1: like a little more guarded and scared to be bad
- 47:29Speaker 1: at things. And, My biggest thing about starting anything new,
- 47:32Speaker 1: which I think I've talked about on the podcast, is
- 47:34Speaker 1: not being great at it immediately. And normally I quit.
- 47:37Speaker 1: And the whole thing within the first chapter is talking
- 47:41Speaker 1: about how you're not going to be great at this.
- 47:43Speaker 1: And it's going to be clunky. And you're going to
- 47:45Speaker 1: try and start new things that unlock your creativity. And
- 47:48Speaker 1: you're not going to be good at it. And I
- 47:49Speaker 1: was like, what am I doing? but I'm going to
- 47:53Speaker 1: commit to it.
- 47:55Speaker 2: So the whole thing is every day you do three
- 47:57Speaker 2: pages in the morning. It's the first thing you do
- 47:59Speaker 2: when you wake up and then you have to commit
- 48:00Speaker 2: to like one solo date a week. Those are like
- 48:03Speaker 2: the biggest time commitments. And then the reading, which is minimal.
- 48:06Speaker 2: I would say it's not like a crazy load of reading.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Like a chapter with prompts and stuff. Yeah.
- 48:10Speaker 2: But, um, what I realized or what I didn't realize
- 48:14Speaker 2: when I was doing this is I thought three pages,
- 48:16Speaker 2: I'm like, I can write, I can, I just write
- 48:19Speaker 2: whatever's on my mind. I write about my dreams.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 2: My hand hurts. Three pages is a lot and it
- 48:26Speaker 2: took me 25 minutes to do this. So guess what
- 48:29Speaker 2: time I'm setting my alarm for on Wednesday?
- 48:31Speaker 1: You have an early day Wednesday. What time? 2.45.
- 48:35Speaker 2: You might as well just stay up.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Skip it one day. You can't skip it one day.
- 48:41Speaker 2: No, it's my first week. I feel like if I.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I'm not gonna... I'm not gonna... I'm not gonna.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Encourage me to not?
- 48:50Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying I'm not gonna dock you for
- 48:54Speaker 1: skipping a day.
- 48:55Speaker 2: It's not about you docking me. It's about me holding
- 48:57Speaker 2: myself to this. I have to do this for myself.
- 49:00Speaker 2: If I'm not gonna do it, who is?
- 49:02Speaker 1: Well, I'm just saying maybe you could just do it
- 49:05Speaker 1: later in the day.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Yeah, does it not count if it's at like 9 a.m.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I think the whole thing is morning.
- 49:11Speaker 3: So morning.
- 49:11Speaker 2: It's supposed to be the first thing you do.
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's still going to be morning by the time you're
- 49:15Speaker 1: off work.
- 49:17Speaker 2: All I'm saying is I did not really like... think
- 49:21Speaker 2: through the morning pages of my morning show. But I'm
- 49:27Speaker 2: going to do it. I'm going to stick to it.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I am determined to get out of this mental like
- 49:33Speaker 2: spider web that I'm in. And I think this is
- 49:36Speaker 2: going to help me. It's already helped me.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I was telling you yesterday, the morning pages, and I agree,
- 49:41Speaker 1: my hand was... My writing looked like... Scribble. Ineligible.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Because I'm just trying to do it so fast.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Ineligible?
- 49:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Illegible. Illegible.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I was like, ineligible is when you can't.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Play a sport or something.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Made sense to me. It's so bad, but it is.
- 49:59Speaker 1: I realize how many random thoughts are in my head
- 50:02Speaker 1: because I just am putting them all down on paper
- 50:04Speaker 1: and it jumps all over the place.
- 50:06Speaker 2: All over the place.
- 50:07Speaker 1: So even if you're not wanting to do the workbook,
- 50:10Speaker 1: I highly recommend waking up and just writing down whatever's
- 50:13Speaker 1: on your mind.
- 50:14Speaker 2: You know what? It really helped me. I realized this
- 50:16Speaker 2: weekend is like, and I don't know if anybody here
- 50:18Speaker 2: is like this, but I don't write a to-do list. Like,
- 50:21Speaker 2: I don't have a piece of paper in, like, a
- 50:23Speaker 2: journal that I write in my to-do list. If I have, like,
- 50:25Speaker 2: important stuff, I'll put it in my calendar to do, like,
- 50:27Speaker 2: on specific days. But there's just, like, routine things. Like,
- 50:30Speaker 2: make your dentist appointment. You know, make a payment on this.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Take your car in to fix this. Like, you know,
- 50:36Speaker 2: there's all these, like, little things. Those swirl in my
- 50:40Speaker 2: brain for weeks, sometimes months, until I do them. I.
- 50:44Speaker 2: As I was doing my morning pages, I realized all
- 50:46Speaker 2: these things were just like coming out. And so I
- 50:48Speaker 2: made like a list of short-term to do and long-term
- 50:51Speaker 2: to do. And I did like five of them yesterday.
- 50:55Speaker 2: It's easy stuff. It's like, but it's just, I don't
- 50:57Speaker 2: know why. It's like helping me organize it in a
- 50:59Speaker 2: way that makes sense for me.
- 51:01Speaker 1: So a beautiful start to the artist's way, it seems.
- 51:05Speaker 2: A beautiful start. I'm excited to see what our solo
- 51:07Speaker 2: dates are next week.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I know.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Because I think it's an hour or something.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Yeah, one hour.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Got to think of something to go do for an hour.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I know what I'm going to do.
- 51:19Speaker 3: What?
- 51:19Speaker 2: I'm going to color me mine.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Cute.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I literally was going to say that. Let's go together.
- 51:24Speaker 1: We can't. It has to be solo. Oh. But every
- 51:28Speaker 1: time I think about doing a solo date when I've
- 51:31Speaker 1: started The Artist's Way, I think of color me mine.
- 51:33Speaker 2: I'm going to do it.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Is it just because we're thinking of art?
- 51:35Speaker 3: You're going to sit there by yourself and color a pot?
- 51:38Speaker 1: Yes, Mark. Actually, because I saw this video of someone
- 51:45Speaker 1: that made the cutest bowl at Color Me Mine. And
- 51:48Speaker 1: I'm just not gifted in like an artist way. The
- 51:53Speaker 1: artist way. Nice.
- 51:57Speaker 2: She laughed at her own joke.
- 51:59Speaker 1: That's a good joke. Easton looked proud, so I was like, okay.
- 52:03Speaker 3: I was delighted by it.
- 52:04Speaker 1: But anyways, I was like, that's what I should go do.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I should go make a bowl that I can eat
- 52:09Speaker 1: my cereal. You know I eat cereal every single night? Yeah.
- 52:12Speaker 1: And I could have my cereal bowl, make my own.
- 52:15Speaker 4: You can't wait to see this bowl.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I can't wait either.
- 52:18Speaker 2: So we can't go together is what you're saying.
- 52:20Speaker 1: We could go another night and do like a BFF
- 52:23Speaker 1: night and I'll do a plate to match my bowl.
- 52:25Speaker 1: But my bowl is going to be a solo mission. Dang.
- 52:28Speaker 2: She said what she said.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Also, Eason, I want to congratulate you because I think
- 52:33Speaker 1: you won Song of the Summer.
- 52:36Speaker 4: Oh, thank you.
- 52:37Speaker 3: I've been meaning to bring this up.
- 52:38Speaker 2: You know what? You picked Ella Langley-Chews in Texas.
- 52:40Speaker 4: I picked Ella Langley-Chews in Texas and I got laughed
- 52:42Speaker 4: out of this damn room.
- 52:44Speaker 2: No, not by me, by this guy. This guy here.
- 52:47Speaker 4: I know Mark is very anti-Ella.
- 52:49Speaker 3: I still am anti-Ella.
- 52:50Speaker 4: He's not an Ella fella.
- 52:51Speaker 1: No.
- 52:52Speaker 4: But she has now broken every possible record.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Yep, Mariah Carey's.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Mariah Carey's record. I think it's the Song of the Summer,
- 53:01Speaker 4: possibly the Song.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Of the Year.
- 53:02Speaker 2: It was the Song of the Summer.
- 53:03Speaker 1: It was.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Statistically.
- 53:07Speaker 4: Just wanted to gloat a little bit. I picked this
- 53:10Speaker 4: song this summer.
- 53:10Speaker 1: You have an ear. You have an ear. I got
- 53:12Speaker 1: an ear.
- 53:12Speaker 4: You know, I can tell a hit when I hear one.
- 53:14Speaker 2: I just want to give it up for Ella.
- 53:16Speaker 4: Let's give it up for Ella.
- 53:17Speaker 3: She's incredible.
- 53:18Speaker 2: We love to see a woman on top. Yes. Don't we, Mark?
- 53:22Speaker 3: There's many women on top of pop music.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Did you see Olivia Rodrigo has a dress that dissolves
- 53:33Speaker 1: during her concert?
- 53:33Speaker 2: Can I tell you how big of a dumbass I am?
- 53:36Speaker 3: Okay, great.
- 53:39Speaker 4: What a transition.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I saw this Instagram of this girl that was like,
- 53:43Speaker 2: I was the costume designer for Olivia Rodrigo's tour. I
- 53:47Speaker 2: just got fired because that dress, it's not supposed to
- 53:51Speaker 2: come off. When I tell you I believed it so
- 53:55Speaker 2: much that I almost forwarded to the Kiss FM group
- 53:58Speaker 2: chat to be like, oh my God, look at this. Guys,
- 54:00Speaker 2: it wasn't supposed to follow up or look at this thing.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Then I started reading the comments and people were like,
- 54:06Speaker 2: this is how people actually believe this.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Tanya, we've got to take your phone away. We have
- 54:12Speaker 1: to have limitations on what you're consuming.
- 54:14Speaker 2: I literally had to send this to my Kiss FM
- 54:16Speaker 2: bosses on that group chat. And I was about to
- 54:19Speaker 2: send it being like, The dissolving dress wasn't supposed to dissolve. Look,
- 54:24Speaker 2: this poor girl got fired and it was all a lie.
- 54:30Speaker 2: What's going to happen when I'm 80?
- 54:31Speaker 3: It's going to be tough.
- 54:32Speaker 1: I don't think even 80. We got to look sooner.
- 54:34Speaker 1: We got to be prepped for sooner years. Earlier years
- 54:38Speaker 1: than 80.
- 54:39Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to plan for 40.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 54:43Speaker 2: It's supposed to dissolve.
- 54:44Speaker 1: It is. Under the water. Yeah.
- 54:47Speaker 4: Really quick. I just want to say I was over
- 54:49Speaker 4: the weekend. I, I had to go to New Hampshire
- 54:52Speaker 4: for work. I was with the Jonas brothers. I may
- 54:55Speaker 4: have heard of them, but I, I, it was a,
- 54:57Speaker 4: you know, New Hampshire, not a place I ever expected
- 54:59Speaker 4: to go. And I was so shocked at how many
- 55:02Speaker 4: scrubbers I met in New Hampshire. I got stopped like
- 55:06Speaker 4: every two feet inside that arena. People are DMing me saying,
- 55:10Speaker 4: I just saw you.
- 55:10Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Wild to me.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Scrubbers are everywhere.
- 55:13Speaker 4: As soon as I got off the plane, someone was like, hey,
- 55:15Speaker 4: I love scrubbing in. It was like so, it's just,
- 55:18Speaker 4: it never stops surprising me.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Robbie was at a Barry's class this morning and he said,
- 55:23Speaker 2: there's a scrubber in my class. She says, hey.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Wow.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:30Speaker 1: We're, I was going to say global, but we're country,
- 55:33Speaker 1: we're nationwide.
- 55:33Speaker 4: That's right, baby.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Nationwide is on our side.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Okay. It's the end of this podcast, but don't worry.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Because we will be back on Thursday.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Yeah, with a game of Family Feud and Don't Say
- 55:48Speaker 2: the Same Thing.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Oh. Ooh, what a tease.
- 55:53Speaker 1: And maybe something else more interesting.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Maybe we'll see how high we can count. I love
- 55:58Speaker 4: you laughing. You came up with.
- 56:02Speaker 2: These games, Mark.
- 56:04Speaker 1: I do.
- 56:05Speaker 3: You asked, you said, do we have no Family Feud?
- 56:07Speaker 3: So I got no Family Feud.
- 56:09Speaker 1: We love you. Bye.
