- 0:04Speaker 2: Hi.
- 0:04Speaker 3: I'm Ryan Blaney, a third generation race car driver, and
- 0:07Speaker 3: we dedicate a lot of our time to going as
- 0:09Speaker 3: fast as possible. My Grandpa Lou is the reason why
- 0:11Speaker 3: my dad and I started racing, and I'm really proud
- 0:13Speaker 3: to follow on his tracks. But when my grandpa was
- 0:16Speaker 3: diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very unexpected bump in
- 0:18Speaker 3: the road for us. I've learned a lot on this
- 0:20Speaker 3: journey with my Grandpa Lou, and the memories of my
- 0:23Speaker 3: grandpa will always be with me. It's important to notice
- 0:25Speaker 3: if older family members are acting differently, experiencing problems with
- 0:28Speaker 3: their memory, or having trouble with routine tasks. Talking about
- 0:31Speaker 3: Alzheimer's can be really tough, but if you notice something,
- 0:34Speaker 3: have a conversation with your loved one, encourage them to
- 0:36Speaker 3: see a doctor or offer to go with them. Early
- 0:39Speaker 3: detection of Alzheimer's can give your family time to explore
- 0:41Speaker 3: support services, make a plan for the future, and access
- 0:44Speaker 3: available treatments. The Alzheimer's Association provides care support and research
- 0:49Speaker 3: to help you take control of the situation with your
- 0:51Speaker 3: family and manage the disease together. If you or your
- 0:54Speaker 3: family are noticing changes, it could be Alzheimer's talk about
- 0:56Speaker 3: seeing a doctor together. Visit alz dot org last time
- 1:00Speaker 3: to talk. A message from the Alzheimer's Association any AD Council.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Heggy Lamb, this is your home for Fighting Texas Football.
- 1:08Speaker 5: That's Sony eleven am and ninety three points some of

- 1:13Speaker 6: Bryant Family owned and operated since nineteen seventy two. Stepcheck
- 1:17Speaker 6: Service Center, twenty two hundred longmyre just down from the
- 1:20Speaker 6: post office in College Station. That is all Willy Wednesday.
- 1:26Speaker 6: Thanks for joining us. This portion of the program is
- 1:28Speaker 6: brought to you by Central Texas Sports Medicine. Coming up,
- 1:32Speaker 6: we're going to hear from offensive coordinator Homan Wiggins. Our
- 1:36Speaker 6: SEC preview today stops in Baton Rouge. Scottlandenen is here,
- 1:43Speaker 6: Mallory is here, and so off we go into the
- 1:50Speaker 6: while Blue Yonder. Sorry, I'm making notes as we speak,
- 1:58Speaker 6: and I can't do both. Used to be able to
- 2:00Speaker 6: do both, but I can't anymore. Tomorrow, let me just
- 2:04Speaker 6: let you in on a high school report from Caleb.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Also tomorrow, Co directors Tyler Meson and Craig Williams a
- 2:15Speaker 6: new documentary called If These Walls Could Rock. It is
- 2:20Speaker 6: the untold story of the Sunset Marquee Hotel, the legendary
- 2:26Speaker 6: ultimate place where Hollywood stars checked in and never checked
- 2:33Speaker 6: out in some cases. So that's tomorrow on the program,
- 2:37Speaker 6: along with the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. There are well,
- 2:46Speaker 6: let me put it this way. There is one Aggie
- 2:48Speaker 6: on the first team Coaches pre season All SEC Team,
- 2:55Speaker 6: Mario Craver led as both wide receiver and all purpose athlete.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Mark nabew Is Second team at center at DJ Hicks
- 3:08Speaker 6: at D line, and Terry Bussey kickoff specialist name to
- 3:12Speaker 6: the third team. The Aggies practiced today this morning. No
- 3:21Speaker 6: media allowed today, no interviews today. They are off tomorrow.
- 3:26Speaker 6: We will have some players on Friday, and Ryan and
- 3:31Speaker 6: Caleb may have one or two of those interviews on
- 3:35Speaker 6: the show on Friday. This is interesting. Brett McMurphy at
- 3:40Speaker 6: On Three Sports Quotes Art brall Is saying he had
- 3:46Speaker 6: a deal in place to replace Matt Brown in Austin
- 3:51Speaker 6: in twenty fourteen but changed his mind after Baylor lost
- 3:56Speaker 6: in the Fiesta. Bowlt said Brill's I was there. If
- 4:01Speaker 6: we'd have won our bowl game, I would have left
- 4:03Speaker 6: Baylor one hundred percent. It was done for me because
- 4:08Speaker 6: I'm a State of Texas guy and my son Kendall
- 4:11Speaker 6: played there, so it made sense. No comment from people
- 4:17Speaker 6: in Austin. Meanwhile, Briles is coaching again. I don't know
- 4:22Speaker 6: if you knew this, but he is in Portallis, New
- 4:27Speaker 6: Mexico at Eastern New Mexico, where the Greyhounds have lost
- 4:34Speaker 6: twenty two of their last thirty games and our pick
- 4:38Speaker 6: seventh this year in the Lone Star Conference. In a
- 4:43Speaker 6: long story, Briles tells McMurphy that inspires me. That doesn't
- 4:48Speaker 6: scare me. We're not going to be a deuce. We're
- 4:52Speaker 6: up there in the face cards. The one thing that's
- 4:55Speaker 6: going to help us early is nobody's going to know
- 4:57Speaker 6: what we're going to do. Good luck some Italian film.
- 5:02Speaker 6: That is a reference to the fact that Briles coached
- 5:07Speaker 6: in Italy for four years and admitted I didn't even
- 5:11Speaker 6: know Italy played football until they called me. Trevor Gusby,
- 5:21Speaker 6: the preseason All American offensive tackle from the University of
- 5:26Speaker 6: Texas who suffered a knee injury and practice Friday, and
- 5:31Speaker 6: while Richardson of Orange Bloods is reporting that MRI results
- 5:36Speaker 6: showed Goosby had a boned bruise, but is expected to
- 5:41Speaker 6: miss two to three weeks, which would put him on
- 5:45Speaker 6: track to return in the Longhorn second game of the
- 5:49Speaker 6: season against Ohio State. Texas hosts Texas State in the
- 5:56Speaker 6: opener on September fifth. Break up the Rangers. They're only
- 6:03Speaker 6: a game behind the Astros. Cal Quantrill went seven scoreless innings.
- 6:09Speaker 6: The Rangers smoked the Nationals five to nothing last night
- 6:15Speaker 6: in Arlington. Justin Foscue had a home run. Wyatt Langford,
- 6:23Speaker 6: Corey Seeger had a couple of base hits. Cody Freeman
- 6:28Speaker 6: his first RBI of the season with the Rangers. They
- 6:33Speaker 6: will play again tonight in Arlington. Break up the Los
- 6:40Speaker 6: Angeles Angels, who took down the Rangers last week and
- 6:44Speaker 6: an No how in the process of taking apart the Astros.
- 6:48Speaker 6: They won three to one last night. George Klassen beat
- 6:55Speaker 6: Christian Javier ben Joyce with only his third say of
- 7:00Speaker 6: the season, and again the Astros are one game ahead
- 7:07Speaker 6: of the Rangers and are at five hundred at sixty
- 7:11Speaker 6: three up and sixty three down. Ethan Peco makes his
- 7:18Speaker 6: major league debut tonight for the Astros against Walbert Urana.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Peco has a four to five to seven ERA with
- 7:31Speaker 6: eighty six strikeouts in twenty games in the minor leagues.
- 7:36Speaker 6: That game starts at seven to ten. You can hear
- 7:39Speaker 6: the broadcast beginning with our pregame coverage here on the
- 7:44Speaker 6: Zone at six forty. Now I told you the Astros
- 7:51Speaker 6: lead is one game over the Rangers, because the Rangers
- 7:58Speaker 6: are a game below five hundred. Astros are at five hundred. Actually,
- 8:02Speaker 6: the Rangers are two games below five hundred. But I
- 8:08Speaker 6: give you the Seattle Mariners within a whisker of winning
- 8:13Speaker 6: the World Series last year. They got beat last night
- 8:20Speaker 6: by Milwaukee twenty two to nothing. Twenty two to nothing.
- 8:27Speaker 6: The score was one nothing in the top of the
- 8:30Speaker 6: fifth inning. The Brewers scored five in the fifth, five
- 8:35Speaker 6: and the sixth, two in the seventh, nine in the eighth,
- 8:43Speaker 6: and the Mariners committed four errors last night. Does that
- 8:50Speaker 6: sound like the Ranger game we talked about. I mean,
- 8:56Speaker 6: nobody wants to win the West. They may forfeit the
- 9:02Speaker 6: entire division this year. Nobody is good enough to win
- 9:07Speaker 6: the West. And I'm beginning to think you may not
- 9:13Speaker 6: even need a five hundred record to win the West.
- 9:17Speaker 6: You may not have to win eighty one games this
- 9:19Speaker 6: year to win the West. It is brutal and the
- 9:27Speaker 6: anti Pat McAfee crowd is stirred up again. McAfee is
- 9:33Speaker 6: joining NFL Monday Night Countdown on ESPN. It will be
- 9:39Speaker 6: part of the weekly show with Jason McCarty, Jason Kelsey,
- 9:45Speaker 6: Marcus Spears, Scott fan Felt, an on site two hour
- 9:49Speaker 6: pregame studio show with Kurt Warner in and out doing
- 9:54Speaker 6: special reporting. And last week it was announced that McAfee
- 10:02Speaker 6: will be doing Lee Corso's headgear picks, and that really
- 10:08Speaker 6: set people off. He gets paid a lot of money
- 10:18Speaker 6: by ESPN, and I mean a lot of money. They're
- 10:22Speaker 6: going to use him. You're going to see a lot
- 10:25Speaker 6: of them, whether you want to or not, because they
- 10:29Speaker 6: fired a lot of people so they can play Pat
- 10:33Speaker 6: mcpay Pat McAfee a lot of money. Does it say
- 10:36Speaker 6: how much he makes stand somewhere thirty forty million dollars.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I believe somewhere in that neighborhood between Pat McAfee and
- 10:46Speaker 6: Steven A. Smith, they are they're making bank.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Pat McAfee earns around thirty million dollars a year.
- 10:55Speaker 6: That's what I thought, and look up steven A as well.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Steven A is at least that or more, I believe.
- 11:05Speaker 6: So they're paying two guys a lot of money and
- 11:09Speaker 6: they had to fire people. Steven Amick's forty million a year. Wowsers. Okay,
- 11:14Speaker 6: there you go. By the way. It's Washington zero, Alabama
- 11:23Speaker 6: zero in the seventh inning. Okay, we're going to take
- 11:27Speaker 6: a break. We will come back by the way next Monday,
- 11:34Speaker 6: the Writers Round Table. If you missed it this week,
- 11:38Speaker 6: I don't know why, but we're back. Also next Friday.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Tony Catalina begins with us. For football, Kirk Bowles begins
- 11:48Speaker 6: with us. I don't think either one know that yet,
- 11:50Speaker 6: but they will by next Friday. Okay, break time. We're
- 11:55Speaker 6: gonna hear from Holman Wiggins, the offensive coordinator when we
- 11:59Speaker 6: come back. This portion of our program is brought to
- 12:02Speaker 6: you by and Co Insurance.
- 12:05Speaker 5: And co Insurance is now a part of Hub International,
- 12:08Speaker 5: bringing you more choices, better value, and even greater expertise.
- 12:12Speaker 5: While our name has changed, we're still the same local
- 12:14Speaker 5: team you know and trust, now with even more to offer,
- 12:17Speaker 5: from business insurance to personal protection and employee benefits. We're
- 12:21Speaker 5: still committed to protecting what matters most with the personalized
- 12:24Speaker 5: service you expect now with the strength of Hub International
- 12:27Speaker 5: behind us, more resources, more solutions, still your team and
- 12:31Speaker 5: co insurance a Hub International company. So you're ready for tomorrow,
- 12:35Speaker 5: Home Road and Ball.
- 12:37Speaker 4: You can hear Aggie football on the zone.
- 12:57Speaker 8: Wild.
- 13:08Speaker 9: Cry in the rain, We Kiss.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Good Bye on new that's Elvis singing a song that
- 13:31Speaker 6: made Willie a star. They met on several occasions. They'd
- 13:36Speaker 6: play Las Vegas. Willie would play Vegas quite a bit.
- 13:40Speaker 6: And we missed Elvis's death day on Sunday. It happened
- 13:45Speaker 6: on a Sunday. We had a lot of stuff going on.
- 13:49Speaker 6: We had Woodstock, Uh the anniversary there that we that
- 13:53Speaker 6: we uh talked about. Also yesterday it was my intention
- 13:59Speaker 6: of play Elvis, but it turned out being the anniversary
- 14:03Speaker 6: of the Viva Terlingua recording and Luke and Bach, so
- 14:08Speaker 6: I couldn't bump that. So today Elvis sings Willie. Willie
- 14:14Speaker 6: sings Elvis on a few songs today. That's that's how
- 14:19Speaker 6: that is going okay, And that's that's the reason August
- 14:29Speaker 6: sixteenth just fell wrong. On the calendar. We usually do
- 14:34Speaker 6: Elvis's birthday and Elvis's death day commemorating on the show.
- 14:44Speaker 6: Let me look up Elvis's birthday. I forget, I'm seeming
- 14:49Speaker 6: it's January, but yes, it is January. Well, I can't
- 14:53Speaker 6: remember what I had for lunch today, but I remember
- 14:56Speaker 6: that Elvis' birthday is in January or January eighth, nineteen
- 15:03Speaker 6: thirty five. He died at age forty two at Grace
- 15:09Speaker 6: led in nineteen seventy seven. I can't believe I remember that,
- 15:19Speaker 6: but I did. Okay, As I mentioned, we're going to
- 15:23Speaker 6: hear from home and Wiggins. We heard from him a
- 15:26Speaker 6: week or ten days ago, but he met with the
- 15:28Speaker 6: media after practice yesterday.
- 15:34Speaker 1: In any facet of any organization and program, like when
- 15:38Speaker 1: you're sitting there starting from the bottom, you think about
- 15:40Speaker 1: ways that kind of you know, start at the entry level,
- 15:42Speaker 1: working your way up, and how that looks just as
- 15:44Speaker 1: far as let's say management. And that's what I've been
- 15:47Speaker 1: working towards. You know, I've earned the evolution of a coach,
- 15:49Speaker 1: starting as a student assistant to a GA, right to
- 15:52Speaker 1: a position coach, to a co coordinator and now coordinator.
- 15:55Speaker 1: So being able to see it through a different lens,
- 15:58Speaker 1: get a not necessarily a back view, but you know, uh,
- 16:01Speaker 1: a better sight line into kind of how things work
- 16:03Speaker 1: and what we wanted to look like. So I've enjoyed
- 16:06Speaker 1: my journey. Uh, it's my story, and uh I'm I'm
- 16:09Speaker 1: super excited about this opportunity.
- 16:11Speaker 10: Hold.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Uh.
- 16:12Speaker 6: You know, obviously in your previous job you had some
- 16:15Speaker 6: you know, amazing groups.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Group of receivers.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So for comparing like that, but as someone that knows
- 16:22Speaker 2: what a great receiver rule, yeah, what is this receiver rule?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Well y, you know they say comparison is the thief
- 16:28Speaker 1: of joy.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Uh.
- 16:29Speaker 1: The one thing that I do like, we have a
- 16:30Speaker 1: group that works the tail off. I think all of
- 16:32Speaker 1: them have, you know, a ton of ability and the
- 16:34Speaker 1: biggest thing when we talk about recruiting, right you're trying
- 16:36Speaker 1: to make, you know, a basketball team or what we
- 16:39Speaker 1: call the Avengers, right, Like, every one of them brings
- 16:41Speaker 1: like a different character and skill set just as far
- 16:43Speaker 1: as being able to attack the ball, play the ball, speed,
- 16:45Speaker 1: drop their weight.
- 16:46Speaker 11: Uh.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But I think as a collect that they all do
- 16:48Speaker 1: some great things on the field. That opens up kind
- 16:50Speaker 1: of what we're trying to do offensively.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Anybody, particularly look at say, discussion really may have moved since.
- 16:56Speaker 12: Uh last year or two past.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, uh, when you sit there and talk
- 16:59Speaker 1: about kind of that group. Of course, a lot of
- 17:01Speaker 1: people have recognized Terry Bussey just in the facet of
- 17:04Speaker 1: him kind of having time on job us using him
- 17:07Speaker 1: in a bunch of different capacities. A smart, tough, unselfish,
- 17:10Speaker 1: dependable player that we can line up in a few
- 17:12Speaker 1: different spots, and he gives us the ability to sit
- 17:14Speaker 1: there and put the ball in his hands play without
- 17:16Speaker 1: the ball, which I've been, you know, super intrigued about him.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Mario Kraf has been lightning in a bottle looking for
- 17:22Speaker 1: him to continue to stack days and be a little
- 17:24Speaker 1: more balanced than kind of what we're doing. He has
- 17:26Speaker 1: this uncanny ability to color outside the lines, so trying
- 17:29Speaker 1: to give him, you know, a few guardrails just in
- 17:31Speaker 1: that aspect. Ashton Bethel Roman, you know, you see him
- 17:35Speaker 1: averaging twenty one yards of catch a year ago and
- 17:37Speaker 1: now starting to figure it out and not just being
- 17:40Speaker 1: just a vertical stretch guy. We're doing some different things
- 17:42Speaker 1: in a run game with him. He's able to kind
- 17:44Speaker 1: of now run some of the intermediate routes a whole
- 17:46Speaker 1: lot cleaner than what he did a year ago. Of course,
- 17:48Speaker 1: Isaiah Horton has been, you know, kind of the big
- 17:51Speaker 1: name that everybody's kind of tossed around, big receiver, big
- 17:53Speaker 1: catch radius, really good ability to track the ball, getting
- 17:57Speaker 1: him more consistent with attacking it. And he had a
- 18:00Speaker 1: a pretty decent day out there today. And then you
- 18:02Speaker 1: also have some of those other guys as far as T. K. Norman,
- 18:04Speaker 1: Kelshawn Johnson, the freshman crew that has come in. But
- 18:07Speaker 1: I think as we continue to build, like that room's
- 18:09Speaker 1: gonna be, you know, pretty prolific in this offense.
- 18:12Speaker 12: You kind of learning that offs from the first year.
- 18:15Speaker 1: We got to be consistent. Right when you sit there
- 18:17Speaker 1: and talk about what I learned from those guys, Like
- 18:18Speaker 1: the biggest focus that we've had is you know, turnovers,
- 18:21Speaker 1: penalties and being able to run the ball consistently, and
- 18:24Speaker 1: we're still not where we need to be, right, the
- 18:26Speaker 1: standard's gonna be that that standard is excellent. Uh So
- 18:29Speaker 1: we got a chance to you know, sit there and
- 18:31Speaker 1: peel back the curtain a little bit, kind of show
- 18:33Speaker 1: our guys and we talk about having two mentalities, right,
- 18:35Speaker 1: mirror mentality or window mentality and we want to look
- 18:38Speaker 1: in the mirror and see, here's where we're at and
- 18:39Speaker 1: here's where we need to get better at. So that's
- 18:42Speaker 1: what we're working on for the rest of this fall count.
- 18:45Speaker 12: To that point.
- 18:45Speaker 13: Just for more maybus the things that really pleased you
- 18:47Speaker 13: about the way in that scrimmage show.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I love the fact that the way those guys
- 18:52Speaker 1: approached it. I think the sun kind of has appts
- 18:54Speaker 1: a little bit right. So our championship strain and our
- 18:56Speaker 1: competitive stamma wasn't anywhere close to where it should be.
- 18:59Speaker 1: But plays made, but also right, we negated a ton
- 19:02Speaker 1: of those plays with you know, false starts or holdings
- 19:05Speaker 1: or any of those things from that nature. So I
- 19:07Speaker 1: want to get to the point, or we want to
- 19:09Speaker 1: get to the point where we can go in there
- 19:10Speaker 1: and put on the tape and say here's where we are.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Not if we would have did this, we would have
- 19:14Speaker 1: you know, here here's the result. Right, So we got
- 19:17Speaker 1: to make sure that we continue to be process driven
- 19:19Speaker 1: in our outcome oriented and make sure that we continue
- 19:22Speaker 1: to put the right things in place so we can
- 19:24Speaker 1: have that championship execution that we're looking for.
- 19:27Speaker 8: And you try to run of the football and ownings
- 19:30Speaker 8: and turned over you guys can playing up those free areas.
- 19:33Speaker 1: What you think in the Saws, well, I think Scot's
- 19:35Speaker 1: a limit when you're talking about kind of what this
- 19:37Speaker 1: offense can do if we continue to kind of clean
- 19:39Speaker 1: those things up, right, And that's kind of the tail
- 19:41Speaker 1: of the season too, when you look at our last
- 19:42Speaker 1: couple of games, right, whether it be Texas, whether it
- 19:44Speaker 1: be Miami, if we're able to take care of the
- 19:46Speaker 1: ball and run the ball consistently, it's probably a totally
- 19:48Speaker 1: different outcome, right. But that's kind of what we're talking
- 19:50Speaker 1: about as we pop on the film. We can all
- 19:53Speaker 1: these ifs and butts, like, let's get to it to
- 19:54Speaker 1: where we actually have the opportunity to do it. So
- 19:57Speaker 1: we're trying to build these championship habits so we can
- 20:00Speaker 1: had the elite outcomes, you know what you're talking about.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Last year, I.
- 20:02Speaker 14: Productive we're in the white keep role bringing a guy.
- 20:05Speaker 15: And guyadah or a bunch of money type the guys
- 20:07Speaker 15: didn't have.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Dramatically, how much doesn't have a guy like that to
- 20:10Speaker 7: make plays country Just.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Like that change with the figures.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That I think it changes a little bit of everything
- 20:15Speaker 1: that you can do right. It brings a little more
- 20:18Speaker 1: confidence in the quarterback to feel like, hey, you know what,
- 20:20Speaker 1: I'm not throwing into a smaller target, right, so I
- 20:23Speaker 1: can put the ball in place and give a guy
- 20:25Speaker 1: a chance and see if that guy can run under
- 20:26Speaker 1: it or role attack the ball. Casey did a phenomenal
- 20:29Speaker 1: job for us, you know, Bussy Ashon Bethel Roman as
- 20:32Speaker 1: well as Mario did a phenomenal job for us, right,
- 20:34Speaker 1: but they didn't have that size and that speed. So
- 20:36Speaker 1: now that kind of just brings a different element to
- 20:38Speaker 1: what we're trying to do offensively.
- 20:40Speaker 14: Marceau told us last week he had been doing well
- 20:42Speaker 14: protecting the football and the turnovers and practice.
- 20:45Speaker 12: Just you know, how's that played out this last week.
- 20:48Speaker 12: Since we've talked to him last year, just maybe what
- 20:49Speaker 12: are the things that he's doing that it's allowed him
- 20:51Speaker 12: to be cleaner in his game.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think for him like he's putting the time in right,
- 20:55Speaker 1: and that's what everything right. The confidence and comfort for
- 20:57Speaker 1: him comes with, you know, time on task, but also
- 21:00Speaker 1: going there and meeting with coach Lynch and actually seeing
- 21:03Speaker 1: and knowing exactly kind of what I'm doing. Here's what
- 21:04Speaker 1: I'm what I'm doing how I'm supposed to do it
- 21:06Speaker 1: and why I'm doing it. So the great thing when
- 21:08Speaker 1: I get a chance to talk to him on the sideline,
- 21:10Speaker 1: he comes off and he knows why this broke down,
- 21:13Speaker 1: why he didn't do something right, and that's you know,
- 21:15Speaker 1: probably hadn't been the case, you know, a year ago, right,
- 21:18Speaker 1: So that's super exciting to see. There's you know, a
- 21:20Speaker 1: bunch of more poise in the pocket, like him understanding
- 21:23Speaker 1: how to go through his reads. You know, he has
- 21:26Speaker 1: a really good knack and a really great ability to
- 21:28Speaker 1: scramble kind of with the ball in his hands. But
- 21:30Speaker 1: us trying to sit there and tell him, like with
- 21:32Speaker 1: what we're doing and how we take care of the ball,
- 21:34Speaker 1: our jobs to not put the ball in jeopardy, and
- 21:36Speaker 1: coach Elko is doing a phenomenal job of throwing some
- 21:38Speaker 1: different situations at our guys. Right, So knowing, okay, here's
- 21:41Speaker 1: two minutes, right, tomorrow's we're gonna work on four minutes.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yesterday we worked on some overtime situations. So being aware
- 21:47Speaker 1: of the sticks, aware of those situations, what can we do.
- 21:50Speaker 1: We can't take sacks. We can't take sacks. We're trying
- 21:52Speaker 1: to score, So just putting our guys in the right
- 21:54Speaker 1: headspace so as we get to those moments, right, like
- 21:57Speaker 1: we know how to rise to the occasion and I
- 21:58Speaker 1: fall to you know, the outcome.
- 22:01Speaker 13: Like just fishing skill about how it's hard to kind
- 22:04Speaker 13: of tell where the office.
- 22:05Speaker 2: One is to get against the statics incompetence.
- 22:07Speaker 16: Yes, in the same thing is it is there in
- 22:10Speaker 16: the years to show where the run games.
- 22:13Speaker 12: And sets as laing in the gamers. Yeah, aggressive shows
- 22:18Speaker 12: to pa.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there's always key points when you talk
- 22:21Speaker 1: about what we're doing in the run gaming for us,
- 22:22Speaker 1: like it's you know, ownership kind of throughout kind of
- 22:26Speaker 1: the offense, right, So it's not just you know, on
- 22:28Speaker 1: the five or six guys up front, it's on our
- 22:30Speaker 1: guys in the perimeter. We gotta do a great job
- 22:32Speaker 1: of getting in our splits, putting hands on places and
- 22:34Speaker 1: making sure right we leave, we're leaving one less defender
- 22:37Speaker 1: for the running back to run off of. And also
- 22:39Speaker 1: we're doing some stuff we're actually handing the ball off
- 22:41Speaker 1: to the receivers. But you know, we want to be
- 22:43Speaker 1: able to see the line of scrimmage move right, so
- 22:46Speaker 1: when that comes, you know, focus guys taking the right
- 22:49Speaker 1: steps right coming out of the hips on lock of nose,
- 22:51Speaker 1: moving you know, in space at the second level. Uh.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And I think our guys are really trying to take
- 22:57Speaker 1: onus in that right, so you get a chance to
- 22:59Speaker 1: see day by day those guys kind of taking some
- 23:01Speaker 1: things kind of to the defensive side, but also trying
- 23:03Speaker 1: to apply what we're trying to ask those guys to do. Yes, sir,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and they say you full camp might.
- 23:09Speaker 17: Fall where their styles are?
- 23:11Speaker 10: You invert a little bit how they're different?
- 23:13Speaker 1: Okay, can you repeat the question?
- 23:14Speaker 18: Yeah, okay, styling or maybe a little different.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah, uh I I I. I think with great coaches
- 23:23Speaker 1: are always is kind of parallels and overlap, right, like
- 23:26Speaker 1: you know with coach saving and as well with you
- 23:29Speaker 1: know coach Oko. Right, there's no destination disease, right. A
- 23:31Speaker 1: lot of people can talk about how successful we were
- 23:33Speaker 1: a year ago or what this place has been, and
- 23:35Speaker 1: for him, like that's just the type of the izedburg.
- 23:37Speaker 1: He's like, hey, you know where we're nowhere close to
- 23:39Speaker 1: where we should be. So now how can we sit
- 23:41Speaker 1: there and get these things moving forward? Right to monopolize
- 23:44Speaker 1: or maximize the ability that we have in that room
- 23:46Speaker 1: and maximize this.
- 23:47Speaker 9: Team, you knows, some basis as any where.
- 23:54Speaker 6: You dealing camp.
- 23:55Speaker 1: That's yeah. I think they're doing a great job of
- 23:58Speaker 1: yelling both right on the field and off the field.
- 24:00Speaker 1: And that's one of the biggest things when you talk about,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know, in today's you know era of college football,
- 24:06Speaker 1: right you're getting you know, incoming freshmen that graduated early.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You're getting transfer portal guys, and also you got your
- 24:12Speaker 1: you know, current team that you're just trying to merge
- 24:13Speaker 1: and match these you know, different personalities together for one
- 24:16Speaker 1: common goal. So we're doing a ton of things outside
- 24:18Speaker 1: of it. Of course we're right now, we're in fall camp,
- 24:20Speaker 1: but we've done some paintballing, we've done some dinner pods.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Like you're just trying to build those relationships with our
- 24:25Speaker 1: guys because I feel like, you know, it's hard to
- 24:27Speaker 1: tell somebody what to do if they don't trust the
- 24:29Speaker 1: fact that you actually care for them. And now with
- 24:32Speaker 1: those guys being in the foxhole, we get a chance
- 24:33Speaker 1: to be out there on the football field. Now you
- 24:35Speaker 1: see a lot of those personalities in chemistry, you know,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and those chemistry things kind of take place right, you know,
- 24:40Speaker 1: a year ago, I don't think anybody would see Mario
- 24:43Speaker 1: Craver kind of encouraging the rest of his teammates to
- 24:46Speaker 1: come out here and attack the heat and kind of
- 24:47Speaker 1: do some of these things right. A year ago, you
- 24:49Speaker 1: probably wouldn't see, you know, Marcel Reid trying to hold
- 24:52Speaker 1: the offense accountable, right. And I think now like our
- 24:55Speaker 1: guys are open and vulnerable to listening because they feel like, hey,
- 24:58Speaker 1: you know what, like we're a team, we're trying to
- 25:00Speaker 1: come together, and we're doing this all for the right reasons.
- 25:02Speaker 2: You know, he's looking at some fight end room just
- 25:04Speaker 2: how they would developed and really can.
- 25:06Speaker 3: And just how the passing.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you know they're gonna be important in
- 25:10Speaker 1: the whole offense, right, whether run or pass. So I
- 25:14Speaker 1: feel like the tight end room has done a really
- 25:15Speaker 1: good job of coming in and you know, kind of
- 25:18Speaker 1: bringing their hard hat every day.
- 25:19Speaker 14: You know.
- 25:19Speaker 1: It's led by mikeel Riley, who you know is one
- 25:21Speaker 1: of our captains. I think he has, you know, the
- 25:24Speaker 1: right mindset, he has, you know, the right championship kind
- 25:27Speaker 1: of you know intangibles that we talk about just as
- 25:29Speaker 1: far as this program, you know, and I think a
- 25:31Speaker 1: lot of those other guys have kind of followed too,
- 25:32Speaker 1: you know, Richie Anderson, you know it's a little bit
- 25:35Speaker 1: of you know, an old school kind of football guy,
- 25:37Speaker 1: will get his nose dirty, can you know, mix it
- 25:39Speaker 1: up in a run game, but also shown us some
- 25:41Speaker 1: different things in the past game. We brought in you know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: Houston Thomas, you know from UTSA, and he's more of
- 25:46Speaker 1: the pass catcher, but he's put on some weight to
- 25:48Speaker 1: kind of help him, you know, sit there sustain some
- 25:51Speaker 1: of these you know, matchups kind of in the SEC
- 25:54Speaker 1: and I've been you know excited to kind of see
- 25:56Speaker 1: him come along in a run game as well, so
- 25:58Speaker 1: you know, as a group, and Kia Armstrong made a
- 26:01Speaker 1: really good catch yesterday. Just as far as our past
- 26:03Speaker 1: game stuff, we ended up praising him about that, trying
- 26:05Speaker 1: to get him to be a little more consistent in
- 26:07Speaker 1: a run game, which I think he's starting to kind
- 26:09Speaker 1: of you know, listen to those things and unlock his
- 26:11Speaker 1: hips and beat the big player that he can be.
- 26:13Speaker 1: If we can get him to play as good as
- 26:14Speaker 1: he looks, I think you know that Room will continue
- 26:16Speaker 1: to climb right and play even a bigger role in
- 26:18Speaker 1: what we're trying to do offensively. Thank you guys.
- 26:22Speaker 6: That's Holman Wiggins, the offensive coordinator. We will hear again
- 26:26Speaker 6: from Lyle Hemph Hell next week. He will visit next
- 26:31Speaker 6: week with the media, and then one more week and
- 26:38Speaker 6: then one more week. We've got a little ways to go.
- 26:41Speaker 6: We're not quite there yet right two weeks from Saturday.
- 26:45Speaker 6: So right now, it's just like powered through. It's as
- 26:54Speaker 6: I said yesterday, it's dog days. You could kind of
- 26:58Speaker 6: see the end from here, but not really. You know
- 27:02Speaker 6: how many practices they are left before there's game week
- 27:07Speaker 6: and it's you know, guys talk about it all the time.
- 27:14Speaker 6: You go all year, all year, probably forty eight weeks
- 27:21Speaker 6: a year for twelve games and then if you're lucky,
- 27:27Speaker 6: a few more after that. Right, It's a lot of
- 27:32Speaker 6: work to put in to do that, which is so
- 27:36Speaker 6: interesting because you see teams where a lot is expected,
- 27:40Speaker 6: you see it every year and like two three weeks in,
- 27:47Speaker 6: four weeks in it's like, this is not what we expected,
- 27:50Speaker 6: this is not why we worked all year. It gets
- 27:52Speaker 6: discouraging right and down here before it gets you know,
- 27:58Speaker 6: football weather in sometime in October. Hopefully that takes a
- 28:06Speaker 6: toll as well. Coming up, we're going to continue our
- 28:10Speaker 6: sec preview. We've got LSU today, we have Arkansas tomorrow,
- 28:16Speaker 6: we have Mississippi State on Friday, we have Texas on Monday,
- 28:22Speaker 6: and we have our famous prediction show on Tuesday. So
- 28:29Speaker 6: I'm certain by now you've set your alarms, you've set
- 28:34Speaker 6: your phones, your clocks, you're ready for the big day
- 28:40Speaker 6: next Tuesday. And just a little inside baseball. Haven't put
- 28:47Speaker 6: all that together yet. I wait kind of the last minute,
- 28:51Speaker 6: because hey, there may be injuries. Texas has already had one, right,
- 28:56Speaker 6: there could be things that changed the dynamic of how
- 29:04Speaker 6: the season might go. So I like to wait a
- 29:09Speaker 6: little bit. I mean, I have a pretty good idea
- 29:13Speaker 6: in my mind, but I do like to wait a
- 29:16Speaker 6: little bit for that. Scott Clindennon is going to be
- 29:20Speaker 6: with us. Oh, I don't know if he knows this
- 29:23Speaker 6: or not. I think I'll wait. He probably knows it.
- 29:26Speaker 6: But I've got one of our favorite topics coming up
- 29:31Speaker 6: today and tomorrow, we'll have a high school report. We'll
- 29:37Speaker 6: have our Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition tomorrow, and tomorrow we're
- 29:47Speaker 6: going to do a little fly fishing in Colorado and
- 29:50Speaker 6: the outdoor edition tomorrow, and we're also as I mentioned earlier,
- 29:58Speaker 6: going to talk about a new documentary that's out that's
- 30:03Speaker 6: called If These Walls Could Rock. It is based on
- 30:07Speaker 6: a book that was done earlier. It is based on
- 30:10Speaker 6: a hotel frankly I had never heard of before, but
- 30:16Speaker 6: where all the legendary musicians and artist went and Billy
- 30:22Speaker 6: Bob Thornton apparently lived at this hotel for several years
- 30:28Speaker 6: and wrote some scripts from there, including Sling Blade I believe. Okay,
- 30:37Speaker 6: you know, whenever I get to talk about Galleria, I'm
- 30:40Speaker 6: always excited about that because they're one of the big
- 30:43Speaker 6: names of our community because of the kind of business
- 30:47Speaker 6: they are and the kind of wards they've won consistently
- 30:51Speaker 6: year after year since nineteen ninety three, Galleria has been relaxation.
- 30:58Speaker 6: Whether it's the day Spaw on Rock Prairie, and I
- 31:01Speaker 6: don't know how long now they've been at Century Square,
- 31:03Speaker 6: but they've been there a while. They've got a complete
- 31:06Speaker 6: boutique there, they've got haircare there, they've got spa services there.
- 31:12Speaker 6: Whether you're looking at many petties, facials, massages, memberships which
- 31:18Speaker 6: you can do and tailor those memberships to the kinds
- 31:22Speaker 6: of services that you like on a regular basis. And
- 31:27Speaker 6: gentlemen think gift certificates, always think gift certificates. You can

- 32:11Speaker 9: Listen to the Houston Estress on this owe thanks to
- 32:14Speaker 9: Kelly Burdozer.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Maybe I didn't love you.
- 32:27Speaker 19: All those long along time.
- 32:31Speaker 6: We're gonna hear the Elvis version of that next. Maybe
- 32:34Speaker 6: I I didn't tell you that I am so happy
- 32:41Speaker 6: that you are mine.
- 32:47Speaker 10: Little things I should have said, and Tom, I just
- 32:54Speaker 10: never took the time.
- 32:59Speaker 16: But you.
- 33:00Speaker 6: It is all Willie Wednesday. We thank you for being
- 33:03Speaker 6: with us. You know, no matter what happens this year
- 33:06Speaker 6: at bat Rouge, you know it won't be dull. No
- 33:09Speaker 6: one has created more personal buzz than Lane Kiffin. Kevin
- 33:12Speaker 6: the king of the portal, has remade the Tigers in
- 33:15Speaker 6: his image in a few short months he's been there.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Sam Lovett comes from Arizona State to quarterback, along with
- 33:22Speaker 6: seven offensive line transfers and twelve receivers. One hold over
- 33:29Speaker 6: is All America tied in trade as Green, who says
- 33:33Speaker 6: everyone is fitting in.
- 33:35Speaker 9: It's about just getting everybody adapted to the Louisiana tradition.
- 33:39Speaker 1: And I feel like we've done that. We've done that,
- 33:42Speaker 1: We've done that great and it's going to be exciting
- 33:45Speaker 1: to watch us this year.
- 33:46Speaker 6: On defense, Blake Baker returns as a very expensive coordinator
- 33:51Speaker 6: and again lots of transfers, but a few key holdovers,
- 33:55Speaker 6: including linebacker Went Weeks, who says practicing against Kiff's offense
- 34:01Speaker 6: is a big plus every day.
- 34:03Speaker 1: It's a huge advantage. If you look forward to our schedule.
- 34:06Speaker 16: We play four of the fastest offenses in the country
- 34:08Speaker 16: outside of our own offense, and it's it's tough playing
- 34:12Speaker 16: tempo teams, but we get to see that every single
- 34:14Speaker 16: day at practice, and at practice you don't have refspot
- 34:17Speaker 16: in the ball, so it goes even faster than a
- 34:18Speaker 16: game and that only will help us.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Now, all Kevin has to do is win, but the schedule,
- 34:25Speaker 6: including the opener at Clemson on the road, more road
- 34:29Speaker 6: games to Ole Miss and Tennessee home games against Texas
- 34:34Speaker 6: and Alabama won't be easy. For now, Lane is enjoying
- 34:39Speaker 6: the honeymoon.
- 34:40Speaker 15: Over seven months, just seeing that Louisiana has built up
- 34:43Speaker 15: hard working people that are really passionate in love football
- 34:47Speaker 15: and I think that really fits in well with our
- 34:50Speaker 15: staff and the values and principles that we bring into
- 34:54Speaker 15: our organization, into our football program.
- 34:56Speaker 6: So tomorrow we'll preview Arkansas. Our y see see previous

- 37:07Speaker 6: All right, we've still got teams left. We're winding down,
- 37:10Speaker 6: but we still have teams left. H Man, you just
- 37:13Speaker 6: missed day and m we just missed them by day
- 37:15Speaker 6: this year. Maybe next year. Is the calendar falls with whatever?
- 37:19Speaker 6: I had that conversation with Louie today.
- 37:21Speaker 12: Whatever.
- 37:21Speaker 6: So we were close, darn close. You were twenty four
- 37:25Speaker 6: hours away, sure, Arkansas tomorrow, Mississippi State Friday. I'm forty
- 37:32Speaker 6: eight hours away Chip Texas on Monday, and all of
- 37:35Speaker 6: the previews on Tuesday.
- 37:39Speaker 12: So I don't even get the preview show anymore? Why
- 37:42Speaker 12: not because it's on Tuesday?
- 37:45Speaker 6: So are you working?
- 37:49Speaker 17: No?
- 37:49Speaker 12: I mean I'll come in do the preview show with
- 37:51Speaker 12: you if you want.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Uh no, sell tape?
- 37:55Speaker 12: Yeah on tape?
- 37:56Speaker 6: Yeah, well taped plausibly live Oh, because I was.
- 38:01Speaker 12: About to say, you're working at least five days a week.
- 38:04Speaker 6: Now I'm working at least four days a week. I'm
- 38:08Speaker 6: trying to get it down to three or two if possible.
- 38:10Speaker 6: I'm trying to get down to Johnny Carson, you know,
- 38:13Speaker 6: only here like Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- 38:15Speaker 7: No, because you know, Johnny Carson wanted to be on
- 38:18Speaker 7: Saturday Nights. That's why he was fighting Saturday Night Live
- 38:23Speaker 7: hoping they failed.
- 38:25Speaker 6: Well, they were tape, they were taping shows and putting
- 38:28Speaker 6: him on Saturday Night.
- 38:29Speaker 12: Well, that's the same thing as working.
- 38:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I guess. Okay, I tell you what. We're going
- 38:38Speaker 6: to take a break. We're going to have your ASTROS Report,
- 38:42Speaker 6: and then we're last night's game. Yes it's a winner,
- 38:47Speaker 6: we'll do that, a win that will come for some

- 40:24Speaker 20: and RBI double in the fourth and fifth innings for
- 40:27Speaker 20: a three run lead. Things would go quiet until cam

- 42:35Speaker 21: S Maybe I didn't you dread you quite as good
- 42:50Speaker 21: as I should Hut, maybe I did love you. What
- 43:00Speaker 21: is often as our crew little things queshould have said,
- 43:08Speaker 21: and I just never took a good time. You were
- 43:17Speaker 21: always on.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Thanks for joining us here on uh Wednesday, Scott clans
- 43:23Speaker 6: with us. Before I get to the topic, I uh
- 43:27Speaker 6: just got a text of reminding me. We just want
- 43:29Speaker 6: to say how sad we are to see the news
- 43:31Speaker 6: about Jeff Watson, uh passing away at a way too
- 43:35Speaker 6: early age. Uh. This kid was a warrior on the field.
- 43:39Speaker 6: I mean he was amazing to watch. He won a
- 43:42Speaker 6: state championship his sophomore year. He got really really close
- 43:46Speaker 6: as junior and senior years. He had a really nice
- 43:49Speaker 6: career with Baylor. Uh and and we're just just sadden
- 43:53Speaker 6: for the news. He was a really fun kid to watch.
- 43:57Speaker 6: You don't see it in an upper division and very
- 44:00Speaker 6: often sophomore quarterbacks winning state championships. It happens, yes, but
- 44:07Speaker 6: but not a lot.
- 44:08Speaker 12: He was special, Yeah, he was, and and he you know,
- 44:11Speaker 12: he also had a good situation.
- 44:13Speaker 7: I mean that that he had a lot of talent
- 44:15Speaker 7: around it, shot of talent around him, but you know,
- 44:19Speaker 7: not as much at Baylor, but he still was his
- 44:22Speaker 7: his arm talent wasn't as big as his heart.
- 44:25Speaker 6: Talent, right, that's a fair way to put it. Yes, yeah,
- 44:29Speaker 6: but he just willed it. He just willed as teams
- 44:31Speaker 6: to win.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:32Speaker 7: There was a lot of consternation around here when A
- 44:35Speaker 7: and M didn't offer him. I mean they had taken
- 44:38Speaker 7: Tommy Preston. I don't think it was held against Jeff
- 44:41Speaker 7: for that that Tommy, the problems that he had, but
- 44:46Speaker 7: it was just you know, when there's only you know,
- 44:51Speaker 7: it wasn't the day where if he had come here
- 44:52Speaker 7: for a year he could have left. The day that
- 44:55Speaker 7: we're into today. He found a place in Baylor that
- 44:59Speaker 7: wanted him and wanted him to stay for the whole
- 45:02Speaker 7: four years and throw for five thousand yards. I mean
- 45:05Speaker 7: that's not earth shattering numbers. Yeah, but back then it
- 45:08Speaker 7: wasn't bad either, No, it was not so yeah, that's
- 45:11Speaker 7: way too young you know and for you know, anyone,
- 45:18Speaker 7: anyone in their fifties. Yeah, I resemble that remark.
- 45:21Speaker 6: Yeah, Okay. A topic, a topic.
- 45:29Speaker 12: Other than Pat McAfee.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Big Texts Choice Award winners.
- 45:35Speaker 12: Really yep on where did you get it? Actually?
- 45:40Speaker 6: On the State Fair website. Okay, but you could probably
- 45:43Speaker 6: get more detail, like from the from the morning News
- 45:47Speaker 6: or somewhere else. But the State Fair website has the winners. Okay,
- 45:51Speaker 6: I've got the city. I had seen the semifinals. We
- 45:54Speaker 6: want to talk with some of the because only the
- 45:57Speaker 6: winners are described, right with them announcing who this year's
- 46:03Speaker 6: winners are. Let's start with mad stuff. Want two? Sure?
- 46:09Speaker 6: The burger chopp tater tacos?
- 46:12Speaker 12: That sounds good.
- 46:13Speaker 6: A fresh burger patty seer to perfection, chopped, combined with
- 46:18Speaker 6: saute onions and jalapinos, topped with mozzarella and American cheese
- 46:26Speaker 6: on top of a bed of cheddar cheese tots, formed
- 46:31Speaker 6: into a taco shell and finished with buffalo buttermilk, ranch coalslaw, garlic, parmesan,
- 46:40Speaker 6: buffalo sauce and more tots. The ultimate burger chop tater tacos. Oh,
- 46:52Speaker 6: we always do this during up when it's time to eat.
- 46:55Speaker 16: Well.
- 46:55Speaker 7: I see a picture of them, yes, yes, and there's
- 46:58Speaker 7: a picture of them and David.
- 47:01Speaker 12: Pretty good.
- 47:01Speaker 6: They just look pretty good.
- 47:03Speaker 12: I mean we have we have.
- 47:04Speaker 7: Had potatoes turned into the outside of hamburgers.
- 47:12Speaker 12: Yes, chicken and waffles yep. Why not Taco.
- 47:18Speaker 6: Shells yeah, yeah, tatered top taco shells with lots of
- 47:24Speaker 6: good stuff on top. Yeah. Okay the Fletchers Wait wait, wait, okay,
- 47:31Speaker 6: are you gonna buy?
- 47:33Speaker 16: No?
- 47:34Speaker 6: Sure, I say every year I'm gonna get something. I
- 47:37Speaker 6: just have something. I do have something. This year I'm
- 47:40Speaker 6: looking at I'm.
- 47:41Speaker 12: Just saying, with this right here being the suite of
- 47:45Speaker 12: the of the State Bear, it's gonna be that much
- 47:48Speaker 12: harder to get your corny dog.
- 47:50Speaker 6: I'm going to have to get two this year. Okay,
- 47:53Speaker 6: one regular and this one. The Fletcher's Chocolate corny Dog
- 48:00Speaker 6: consists of smooth milk chocolate fudge, hand dipped and Fletcher's
- 48:06Speaker 6: famous original corn dog batter deep fried do golden perfection
- 48:13Speaker 6: top with a drizzle of yellow vanilla icing. See what
- 48:18Speaker 6: they did there?
- 48:19Speaker 12: Why would they do that?
- 48:20Speaker 6: Chip had served with raspberry compote for a sweet twist
- 48:26Speaker 6: on the iconic corny dog.
- 48:28Speaker 7: So why would they choose yellow for a drizzle? I
- 48:31Speaker 7: love that because it looks like the mustard, and it does.
- 48:34Speaker 7: I love that, And the raspberry looks like ketchup and
- 48:37Speaker 7: it does.
- 48:38Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 48:39Speaker 12: Don't get your don't get your good dogs confused.
- 48:43Speaker 6: You're not confusing dogs. Don't dip this dog and ketchup, right.
- 48:48Speaker 7: And don't dip your regular dog in the raspberry. Correct,
- 48:52Speaker 7: But I don't put ketchup on the many mustard?
- 48:54Speaker 6: Is the mustard's the only way to go?
- 48:56Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 48:57Speaker 6: I don't think they have the Bejeon mustard anymore to
- 49:01Speaker 6: State Fair. They only add that one year. Okay to
- 49:07Speaker 6: drink are you ready? Yep? Tropical cocoa fresca layered pineapple watermelon.
- 49:19Speaker 6: I go off fresca with shammy lava tagine rim. I'm
- 49:25Speaker 6: not a fan of the tajen. I'd have to leave
- 49:28Speaker 6: that off. Paired with a scoop of icy coconut snow
- 49:35Speaker 6: that melts into a creamy, tropical explosion of flavors. A
- 49:41Speaker 6: sure way to beat the heat.
- 49:43Speaker 7: That's pretty another one if you're if you're ordering with
- 49:47Speaker 7: your eyes, Yeah, you've got three winters far.
- 49:50Speaker 6: Yeah that looks good too.
- 49:51Speaker 12: You've got three eye winners, no doubt about.
- 49:54Speaker 6: It looks really good. Another one Bury Me and Macha,
- 50:00Speaker 6: a luxurious flavor experience that fuses creamy cheesecake indulgence with
- 50:08Speaker 6: bold Japanese inspired flare. This rich New York style cheesecake
- 50:14Speaker 6: is hand dipped in silky Belgian white chocolate, rolled in
- 50:21Speaker 6: crust Macha cookies for a delicate, earthly crunch, then drizzled
- 50:27Speaker 6: with luscious white chocolate and sweet strawberry jam, finished with
- 50:33Speaker 6: a fresh strawberry slice on top. Every bite delivers the
- 50:39Speaker 6: perfect balance of creamy, crunchy fruity and sweet Macha bliss.
- 50:47Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 6: I mean there's some good ins here. I gotta tell
- 50:53Speaker 6: you there's some good inns. So the fair starts to
- 51:00Speaker 6: Tember twenty fifth this year. Uh, this is the first time,
- 51:06Speaker 6: by the way, since the nineteen forties. That's not really true,
- 51:13Speaker 6: because Fletcher started selling the jalapeno corn dog about fifteen
- 51:19Speaker 6: years ago.
- 51:20Speaker 12: Maybe Valopino Cheese.
- 51:21Speaker 6: There's Valipino cheese corn dogs. Yes, it's been about fifteen years.
- 51:26Speaker 6: But for something sweet, they had never done this before,
- 51:30Speaker 6: and they may have caught my attention with this. I mean,
- 51:33Speaker 6: how can you not right, yes, let me let me
- 51:37Speaker 6: give you some of the finalists. Can I that will
- 51:40Speaker 6: be represented too, Yeah, I've got a few. Okay, why
- 51:44Speaker 6: don't you do the savories that that that lost out
- 51:47Speaker 6: to the burger chop tater tacos.
- 51:50Speaker 7: Okay, Dickles Texas two step tacos was one one taco
- 51:57Speaker 7: with pork sausage and a cheese stuff kolapenno, and the
- 52:01Speaker 7: other one was sliced brisket.
- 52:03Speaker 12: Around the halopenno.
- 52:05Speaker 6: Okay, that sounds good.
- 52:07Speaker 7: Flaming crunch pizza hand tossed pizza made with kolapenno, cheddar
- 52:11Speaker 7: kesso and topped with flaming hot cheetos.
- 52:14Speaker 6: Yeah, that one doesn't do much for me.
- 52:16Speaker 12: You would you would have to have that drink afterwards.
- 52:19Speaker 6: You would need a drink.
- 52:20Speaker 12: Okay.
- 52:21Speaker 7: Golden crunch metal handheld to your wrap is said to
- 52:25Speaker 7: be a creamy and crunchy filled with chicken peppers, onions,
- 52:29Speaker 7: crispy potato strings, and a blend of cheese and sausage.
- 52:34Speaker 6: That sounds good. I mean that really sounds good. Nacho
- 52:38Speaker 6: wings okay, nancho Nacho wings.
- 52:41Speaker 7: Well, it's Nacho's, but it's really a taco flavored wing
- 52:46Speaker 7: or maybe even a plate of fully loaded French fries.
- 52:49Speaker 12: You don't know what you're getting.
- 52:51Speaker 6: A bed of French fries are topped with the chicken
- 52:55Speaker 6: wings which have been tossed in taco seasoning. That included
- 53:01Speaker 6: on top of everything, nacho cheese. I'm assuming that's the
- 53:06Speaker 6: orange kind they serve in Arlington. Yes, cilantro, green onions, coke,
- 53:10Speaker 6: tia cheese, tomatoes, pickled red onions, jalapenos, and ranch dressing.
- 53:16Speaker 6: This one, you're gonna need some napkins for cherett. Yeah,
- 53:20Speaker 6: you're gonna you're gonna need some napkins for that.
- 53:22Speaker 9: Yes.
- 53:24Speaker 6: By the way, the person who created who was one
- 53:27Speaker 6: of the five finalists in the sweet category to Bury
- 53:30Speaker 6: Me and Macha, which I mentioned. They created the twenty
- 53:34Speaker 6: twenty three winning dessert, which was bisc Off cheesecake, So
- 53:40Speaker 6: they're big on cheesecake by the way. Okay, yes, I
- 53:44Speaker 6: like the Belgian white chocolate rolled into crushed cookies. I
- 53:47Speaker 6: do like that with the strawberry jam. But they haven't
- 53:50Speaker 6: swayed me away from the chocolate corn dog yet.
- 53:53Speaker 7: Well.
- 53:54Speaker 12: The Texas Pecan prelean cheesecake.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Cone Ooh okay, give me that one warm.
- 54:01Speaker 7: Waffle cone dipped in white chocolate, rolled in pecan pre
- 54:04Speaker 7: lean with Bishoff cookies. Then it's filled with cookie butter cheesecake.
- 54:10Speaker 6: Okay, you know, I'm not a huge cheesecake guy. It
- 54:14Speaker 6: has to be really good to get me to, you know,
- 54:17Speaker 6: to get my attention. Fernies, frozen espresso tini. An espresso
- 54:25Speaker 6: martini bar refers to a popsicle.
- 54:29Speaker 12: Yep.
- 54:30Speaker 6: The family who brought funnel cakes to the State Fair
- 54:34Speaker 6: and has known for things like fernies, peaches and cream.
- 54:38Speaker 6: That was tasty. I did do that one.
- 54:40Speaker 7: I did that for ten years. Yeah, I'm not going
- 54:42Speaker 7: into fernies because they took it away.
- 54:44Speaker 6: Did they really? No more peaches at cream?
- 54:46Speaker 9: No?
- 54:47Speaker 12: I'm still mad.
- 54:48Speaker 6: Wow, that's not good. I don't like that. I'm with you.
- 54:52Speaker 12: Not gonna eat their funnel cake.
- 54:54Speaker 7: Not gonna eat this teeny even though it's drizzled with
- 54:57Speaker 7: a hard chocolate shell, which makes me think, and it
- 55:02Speaker 7: was frozen chocolate covered keylon pile a stick?
- 55:05Speaker 12: Why don't they do that?
- 55:06Speaker 6: Still mad at them for that? Here is and I'm
- 55:10Speaker 6: not a flond fan, but a crispy Bunuelo bowl comes
- 55:15Speaker 6: filled with a roast corne leche. That's rice and milk,
- 55:20Speaker 6: which is weird, uh, with a scoop of cinnamon bluebell
- 55:26Speaker 6: ice cream inside deep fried flawd encased in puff pastry
- 55:31Speaker 6: shell top with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle sauce. Eh,
- 55:36Speaker 6: that doesn't again. Here are the five Sipper finalists. Now
- 55:40Speaker 6: we mentioned you mentioned the winner that looked awesome right, Yes,
- 55:43Speaker 6: that is the tropical Cocoa fresca. Yes, was that the winter? Yes? Okay,
- 55:49Speaker 6: we've got where's the one that I wanted? We've got
- 55:53Speaker 6: a couple of more corn flake chope. Taking inspiration from
- 55:59Speaker 6: a bowl of star concessionaires, Milton and Gracie Whitley turn
- 56:05Speaker 6: a corn flake breakfast into a milkshake. Each drink is
- 56:10Speaker 6: drizzled with dulce de leche, Texas pecans and warm spices.
- 56:16Speaker 6: This sounds okay, Yeah, okay, we've got to have a
- 56:20Speaker 6: break Okay, Well, we've got more to do, so we're okay.
- 56:24Speaker 6: We've got time.
- 56:25Speaker 12: We got topics and time.
- 56:26Speaker 6: Topics and time. Speaking of which, David Gardner takes a
- 56:34Speaker 6: lot of time to handcraft and create each special piece
