- 1:30Speaker 3: Because you're part of our family.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Part of our family. How's it going today, guys? I
- 1:34Speaker 2: think that's pretty good. Stormy Yeah, yeah, hoping to get
- 1:37Speaker 2: some rain. It's it's barking out there getting severe thunderstorm
- 1:42Speaker 2: warnings our area.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I was thinking about you earlier, Jack, because it started
- 1:46Speaker 3: off with severe thunderstorm morning for Seminole County and then
- 1:49Speaker 3: it said, okay, all of Seminole County is now under
- 1:53Speaker 3: a severe thunderstore morning. That storm got up to like
- 1:56Speaker 3: thirty five thousand feet.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that weird thing. It's like you know
- 1:59Speaker 2: the weather guys. Let me tell you, man, I it's
- 2:01Speaker 2: and I'm gonna be honest with you, it's along with
- 2:03Speaker 2: this virus coverage. Do you guys find this be a
- 2:06Speaker 2: bit much? Do you find let me let me just
- 2:08Speaker 2: ask you honestly, do you think the haunt of virus
- 2:11Speaker 2: coverage is a little overboard considering it's not spread like COVID. Yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 2: because it doesn't spread. I mean, I will tell you, man,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I was talking to my wife about this the other
- 2:19Speaker 2: day because you know, she she was talking about it
- 2:22Speaker 2: during COVID, and I said, well, during COVID, it was,
- 2:25Speaker 2: in my opinion, it was a legit concern simply because
- 2:27Speaker 2: it was so contagious and a lot of people were
- 2:29Speaker 2: getting it and it was really doing some damage.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Right, Well, it was new. We nobody had immunity.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Right exactly. So this Haunta virus thing we find out
- 2:37Speaker 2: like right off rip, Like, I mean, when the first
- 2:39Speaker 2: thing comes out that you know, good thing. Haunta virus
- 2:42Speaker 2: is a super spreader type thing. You can't be in
- 2:45Speaker 2: the same room with somebody you could actually not get
- 2:47Speaker 2: it from doing that. Blah blah blah blah blah. But man,
- 2:49Speaker 2: I'm telling you, the coverage for this haunted virus thing
- 2:52Speaker 2: is overwhelming. It's like hurricane coverage in Florida. Let's let's
- 2:55Speaker 2: put it this way.
- 2:57Speaker 3: For the possibility of a crew for my newly wet
- 3:01Speaker 3: husband off the table between that and one hundred and
- 3:05Speaker 3: fifteen just coming off the poop poo cruise.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Obviously you don't want the haunt of virus because.
- 3:10Speaker 3: That's I mean, that's forty percent mortality. But you also
- 3:13Speaker 3: don't want the neuro virus because you don't want to
- 3:15Speaker 3: spend your vacation fighting over who gets to throw up
- 3:19Speaker 3: or you know.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And if both of those people get off a ship
- 3:22Speaker 2: at the same time, if one docked on one side,
- 3:24Speaker 2: one doctor on the other, trust me, and I tell
- 3:25Speaker 2: you you're voting poopoo virus people way worse counted virus.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You go. Look, man, I understand that the idea here
- 3:31Speaker 2: is you can be you can walk by me and
- 3:34Speaker 2: I'm cool. That poopoo virus I don't want near it, no,
- 3:36Speaker 2: thank you, And that noro thing can me gnarly dude,
- 3:39Speaker 2: I know somebody got it from the crews years ago,
- 3:41Speaker 2: and really just like that, he felt, he goes, I
- 3:43Speaker 2: felt like I was melting inside for three days. For
- 3:47Speaker 2: three days, then you get better, right, right, right, the
- 3:49Speaker 2: other one kills you. You lose right exactly, You're right.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I don't know I'm saying, but the chances of getting
- 3:53Speaker 2: the NORO were way easier than haunted. Yeah, the norovirces.
- 3:58Speaker 3: That's that's really the one we're more terrified of than
- 4:01Speaker 3: the haunt of because again, this is one of two
- 4:04Speaker 3: strains in the entire world that's past person to person.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It just happened to be that preliminarily, they believe the
- 4:10Speaker 3: elderly couple when bird watching and just happened to be
- 4:13Speaker 3: going through a region where one of these variants is found.
- 4:16Speaker 3: But that no ro virus. That's kind of like on
- 4:18Speaker 3: the regular when you hear about people.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Called yea, is that the couple who passed away?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yes, that's the Yeah, the Dutch couple. It's the seventy
- 4:28Speaker 3: year old man who died on the ship and then
- 4:29Speaker 3: his six to nine year old wife was trying to
- 4:32Speaker 3: fly back home and collapsed in the airport in Johannesburg.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Are those the only bird watching deaths in the history
- 4:37Speaker 2: of the world. You haven't seen Alfred Hitchcot The Bird.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good documentary. It's very good documentary.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, everything on film is a document it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: all based on life text us at seven to seven
- 4:54Speaker 2: zero three one. You know, we do spend a lot
- 4:56Speaker 2: of time talking about AI on the show. It is
- 4:59Speaker 2: a game change, obviously, you can see it in a
- 5:01Speaker 2: number of ways. Jack, I sent you a link over
- 5:03Speaker 2: there with some audio. If you want to bring that up,
- 5:05Speaker 2: we'll talk about here in a second. But you know,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I read more and more about AI, and of course
- 5:09Speaker 2: Sam Altman on the stand today with his lawsuit with
- 5:13Speaker 2: Elon Musk on who was who was where? And what
- 5:17Speaker 2: for open AI? Who was responsible?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's an interesting trial.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Oh this is a giant bitch fest between these two nerds.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I mean they're slap boxing in court.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I know, but still it is it is fascinating.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But it is I mean, like you know, you know,
- 5:33Speaker 2: just again, you read a lot, and you read a
- 5:35Speaker 2: lot about AI because inevitably it's in the news everywhere. Right.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I saw Andrew Yang, a former presidential candidate. I think
- 5:42Speaker 2: a couple was it last twenty twenty is when he
- 5:45Speaker 2: ran seems like so long ago. And you know, he
- 5:48Speaker 2: said he had just gone to a conference in San
- 5:50Speaker 2: Francisco for AI, and he said that he goes, look,
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm I'm up on this stuff. I read a lot
- 5:55Speaker 2: about it, and the stuff I saw was remarkable. I mean, simply,
- 5:59Speaker 2: we're remarkable. But he also said in the remarkable aspect
- 6:03Speaker 2: of that, there were CEOs saying, you know, talking about
- 6:06Speaker 2: the percentages of the workforce that are going to be lost,
- 6:08Speaker 2: specifically white collar jobs, right, that are going to be
- 6:12Speaker 2: lost because of this a lot of coding. And he said,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you know, it's weird. Five years ago we're telling people,
- 6:16Speaker 2: you know, if you want a if you want to
- 6:18Speaker 2: full or fail proof job, white collar job, learn how
- 6:21Speaker 2: to code, right, learn how to write Now it used
- 6:23Speaker 2: to be and now he was talking about, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 2: they have agents on board at all these places that
- 6:29Speaker 2: write this code at an alarming rate doing the work
- 6:32Speaker 2: of you know, one hundred and two hundred people in minutes,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, for what they could do in a week.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And of course it's the same kind of ratios we've
- 6:38Speaker 2: heard about AI. You know, since its inception, since it
- 6:41Speaker 2: really came to market. And what we also have learned
- 6:45Speaker 2: is is that although we think it's fascinating, right old
- 6:48Speaker 2: generations like us, because we find it fascinating, we live
- 6:51Speaker 2: through the onset of the Internet. We've lived through all
- 6:55Speaker 2: these different iterations of how entertainment or media is delivered,
- 6:59Speaker 2: you know, from you know, from analog all the way
- 7:01Speaker 2: up to digital where you could get it on just
- 7:03Speaker 2: a pair of headphones and your watch. You know, stuff
- 7:05Speaker 2: like that is remarkable. We got to see all of
- 7:07Speaker 2: that happen in real time, and I'm not I don't remember.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Do you remember a big pushback on the Internet, guys,
- 7:13Speaker 2: just general internet. Do you remember other than the dot
- 7:16Speaker 2: other than the dot com bubble saying if you're an investor,
- 7:19Speaker 2: there was some pushback when it came to the Internet,
- 7:21Speaker 2: though I do not remember large swaths or generations of
- 7:25Speaker 2: people like going this is gonna be the end of
- 7:27Speaker 2: us type thing. I mean, I just think everybody kind
- 7:30Speaker 2: of understood you had access to information, it was gonna
- 7:32Speaker 2: make your life a little easier. This one seems a
- 7:34Speaker 2: little more nefarious because the Internet isn't thing for you, you know,
- 7:37Speaker 2: you basically didn't only react to what you put in
- 7:40Speaker 2: and it gave you the information you asked for. This
- 7:42Speaker 2: kind of does the same thing, but you know, considerably deeper.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But it also can do jobs, and we know it's
- 7:47Speaker 2: very good at it, very efficient. There are a couple
- 7:50Speaker 2: of generations that hate this though, and we just learned
- 7:52Speaker 2: about that recently because here in the entertainment industry that
- 7:55Speaker 2: we're in. If you'll notice, we have now started tags
- 7:59Speaker 2: on all of our media stuff and it says, is
- 8:00Speaker 2: it authentic human genuinely guaranteed you guaranteed human, because we
- 8:07Speaker 2: want people to know that we do not create content
- 8:09Speaker 2: using AI. It's all human created content. It's us sitting
- 8:12Speaker 2: here talking yeah, right, right right, and until I glitch,
- 8:17Speaker 2: you're gonna believe that's the case exactly. So the reason
- 8:21Speaker 2: I bring all this up is yesterday or this past week,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I guess UCF had their graduation. We covered it because
- 8:27Speaker 2: there's like ten thousand kids graduating from the UCF, right
- 8:30Speaker 2: like a small city. Oh well, actually it was my
- 8:32Speaker 2: hometown graduated.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Exactly and it was just from the business school and
- 8:37Speaker 3: the Arts and Humanity. So yeah, this came from the
- 8:40Speaker 3: Arts and Humanity's commencement speech. I believe it was this
- 8:43Speaker 3: past weekend.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And this young lady was invited to share her thoughts
- 8:47Speaker 2: on you know, she was a guest speaker. And this
- 8:49Speaker 2: happens a lot in these situations, and they bring people
- 8:51Speaker 2: up who are dignitaries from the community, whether it be
- 8:54Speaker 2: political or business, usually focused in the business sector or
- 8:58Speaker 2: whatever that particular group of people are that are graduating
- 9:01Speaker 2: or focused in as was this case as well. It's
- 9:04Speaker 2: uh uh.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Gloria Callfield is a from Tavistock Development Company executive.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Right tatastok is that big you know, basically nobody created
- 9:15Speaker 2: Lake Nona and ale Worth. That guy who owns trap
- 9:17Speaker 2: Tavistock also owns those very exclusive neighborhoods here in central Florida.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Also a newly appointed CEO of not reading the room
- 9:27Speaker 3: as you're about to tell folks.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Why so, I want you to listen to this response
- 9:30Speaker 2: to these you got it, okay, don't get you not yet? Okay,
- 9:36Speaker 2: that's fine. That link is the whole three hour ceremony.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Go.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I gave you an area to go to go to
- 9:42Speaker 2: one twenty one. Yeah, I put her on your email
- 9:44Speaker 2: there you can go fast forward to one hour twenty
- 9:47Speaker 2: one minutes.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I'm sure if you're if you're like, I don't know
- 9:49Speaker 3: about you, guys, but it's been showing up all over
- 9:52Speaker 3: in my Instagram algorithm.
- 9:54Speaker 2: And actually, honest with you, every day when I get
- 9:56Speaker 2: in the first thing I do is I check the
- 9:57Speaker 2: texting service to see if the news junkies talk about
- 9:59Speaker 2: anything that I have on my list, so I can
- 10:01Speaker 2: scratch that and move on to something else. And I
- 10:03Speaker 2: don't know that he covered it at length today because
- 10:05Speaker 2: they had some other stuff going on. Oh I was
- 10:07Speaker 2: super excited to come in and share this something special.
- 10:11Speaker 3: We don't normally get to do that.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And the funny thing is, you do we hear about
- 10:14Speaker 2: people getting you know, reactions from crowds. You know, you
- 10:16Speaker 2: hear like, oh, yeah, Donald Trump came into the room
- 10:18Speaker 2: and he was booed loudly, and then you go and
- 10:21Speaker 2: listen to the video and you're like, yeah, I hear
- 10:22Speaker 2: a couple of people howling, but it's not crazy.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Well, I think what this shows is that somebody assumed
- 10:28Speaker 3: talking to an audience of young people who are on
- 10:31Speaker 3: the cusp of this new technology right, thinking that well,
- 10:35Speaker 3: how can you I mean, this is.
- 10:36Speaker 2: The way of the future.
- 10:38Speaker 3: It just shows just a complete you know you kind
- 10:41Speaker 3: of you kind of understand when they go okay, boomer,
- 10:44Speaker 3: can you kind of get it when they say it now?
- 10:46Speaker 2: It was like she went in there like like who's
- 10:49Speaker 2: ready to drink?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Right?
- 10:51Speaker 2: She thought that she was gonna get a reaction like
- 10:52Speaker 2: if that like you got ready to graduate parties exactly,
- 10:55Speaker 2: And it did not turn out that way, Jack, Change.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Is exciting, very exciting, and let's face it, change can
- 11:05Speaker 5: be daunting. The rise of artificial intelligence is the next
- 11:13Speaker 5: industrial revolution.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Whoa, what happened?
- 11:25Speaker 5: Okay?
- 11:26Speaker 4: I struck a chord?
- 11:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, you can kill it there, I know.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So when you hear her, by the way, Jack's out,
- 11:32Speaker 2: The video appear as well at Jim corpralive dot com,
- 11:35Speaker 2: and you can see how nervous she gets immediately when
- 11:38Speaker 2: you hear her say what happened? We didn't have the
- 11:40Speaker 2: video up yet. She actually turns around to the other
- 11:43Speaker 2: speakers and says what happened, And she's not doing that jokingly.
- 11:47Speaker 2: She thought something happened in the crowd that she didn't
- 11:49Speaker 2: see that caused them to boo. She didn't even realize
- 11:51Speaker 2: initially they were booing her statement. Oh no, that's now
- 11:55Speaker 2: out of loop.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Now that said, we are living in a time.
- 12:02Speaker 2: What you're reacting to this change?
- 12:04Speaker 5: I know that's an understatement, right, profound change. Change is exciting,
- 12:11Speaker 5: very exciting.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I feel nervous faces.
- 12:15Speaker 5: A change can be daunting the rise of artificial intelligence.
- 12:21Speaker 2: There we go?
- 12:22Speaker 5: Is the next industrial revolution?
- 12:30Speaker 2: He's heard her around, like what happened? What the hell? Damn? Wow? Crazy, Okay, you're.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Talking to a room full of young people whose jobs
- 12:40Speaker 3: are going to be replaced by this next industrial revolution.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Maybe that's it. Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. Somebody
- 12:46Speaker 2: protected and said the guys talked about a little bit yesterday,
- 12:48Speaker 2: which I find you know, that's that's exactly what they
- 12:50Speaker 2: should have done, because I mean, it was a story
- 12:51Speaker 2: did hit yesterday, But god almighty man, when I saw
- 12:54Speaker 2: the story and it's full, Like I heard the story
- 12:56Speaker 2: about it, I didn't get to see the video from it,
- 12:59Speaker 2: And when I saw this more, I was like, oh man, yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 2: that'd be like me doing it, like completely checked out
- 13:04Speaker 2: on when an eighteen or nineteen year old wants or
- 13:05Speaker 2: twenty one year old once in their life and trying
- 13:07Speaker 2: to get up there and go you right right apart,
- 13:09Speaker 2: My guys, is this cool? This is having to look
- 13:12Speaker 2: at me like I'm some complete moron? Come on, you
- 13:15Speaker 2: used it to cheat through college as well. Right, It's
- 13:18Speaker 2: like these people read Sweetheart. They understand completely that the
- 13:22Speaker 2: You know, there are giant percentages of workforces being laid
- 13:26Speaker 2: off now, and a lot of them probably holding the
- 13:29Speaker 2: same degrees those people are clutching in their hands as
- 13:31Speaker 2: they speak. Incredible. All right, four O seven nine one
- 13:35Speaker 2: six one O four one text us at seven seven
- 13:37Speaker 2: zero three one. I've got some news.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we're gonna talk about lawmakers beginning state budget negotiations
- 13:43Speaker 3: in a special session. A House Oversight Committee meanwhile, is
- 13:47Speaker 3: holding a hearing on Jeffrey Epstein in West Palm Beach,
- 13:50Speaker 3: and ice cream company Halo Top will soon offer a
- 13:55Speaker 3: silent a La mode spoon.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Really, we'll talk.
- 13:58Speaker 3: About that and more coming up next during JCS news.
- 14:00Speaker 2: All right, guys, don't forget family is your three o'clock keyword.
- 14:03Speaker 2: That's F A M. I L. Y. Go to real
- 14:05Speaker 2: radio out of him and send that away for your
- 14:07Speaker 2: chance at one thousand dollars. Back in a second with
- 14:09Speaker 2: Dev's news and more of the Jim colework show. That's
- 14:20Speaker 2: a moment.
- 14:20Speaker 6: You know him.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You have a te bag, you know, two poles back.
- 14:24Speaker 7: Home and today we raise a beer to a sport
- 14:26Speaker 7: I just learned about called ferret legging.
- 14:29Speaker 8: Never yeah, that's what I said, ferret legging.
- 14:31Speaker 2: The whole idea is is endurance, sport of seeing who
- 14:34Speaker 2: can keep a ferret trapped in their pants longer than
- 14:37Speaker 2: the other person I'd been awe. Anyways, have a good show, y'all. Peace.
- 14:47Speaker 2: They don't do that in Hawaii. We know that no ferret,
- 14:50Speaker 2: no far it's allowed in Hawaiian fars are nasty, by
- 14:55Speaker 2: the way.
- 14:55Speaker 9: They stink.
- 14:58Speaker 2: My kids had a friend that had one, and they
- 15:00Speaker 2: would bring that thing over. She would walk it like
- 15:01Speaker 2: a dog and it would come in the house and
- 15:03Speaker 2: immediately it would smell like a weight room. Get out
- 15:08Speaker 2: of here. Four oh seven nine four one text seven
- 15:10Speaker 2: seven zero three one. Family is your three o'clock keyword,
- 15:14Speaker 2: that's fam il y. Just slide over to real radio,
- 15:19Speaker 2: out of him and send that off for your chance
- 15:21Speaker 2: at one thousand bucks. Family, guys, that is your three
- 15:24Speaker 2: clock keyword. Good luck. We hope you win for sure.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And remember, if you're playing the game, phone on phone
- 15:27Speaker 2: up and keep it near you. And regardless of what
- 15:30Speaker 2: you see on the phone, when someone calls during this
- 15:32Speaker 2: time period, you have to pick it up. It may
- 15:34Speaker 2: say no call or ID, it may say out of
- 15:37Speaker 2: the area, doesn't matter. You got to pick up the
- 15:39Speaker 2: phone to win the money. There you go, Welcome back.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'm Jim. Jack is here as well, and deb has
- 15:44Speaker 2: your news. Let's get it.
- 15:46Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Wow, this guy gotta put his name on everything.
- 15:52Speaker 1: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim
- 15:55Speaker 1: Colber Show.
- 15:57Speaker 3: And JCS News has brought to you by that mortgage guy.
- 16:00Speaker 3: The special session to negotiate a state budget is underway
- 16:04Speaker 3: in Tallahassee. Both chambers repassed spending bills advanced during the
- 16:08Speaker 3: regular session relating to healthcare, education, and the environment. House
- 16:12Speaker 3: Speaker Daniel Perez has formal negotiations on the final details
- 16:16Speaker 3: of the spending plan will begin this afternoon.
- 16:19Speaker 10: After we complete the budget conference and the final conference
- 16:22Speaker 10: report for the GAA has been on the members desk
- 16:24Speaker 10: for seventy two hours. We will return to the floor
- 16:27Speaker 10: at the end of the month and have questions and
- 16:28Speaker 10: debate on all budget bills prior to voting on the
- 16:31Speaker 10: conference reports.
- 16:33Speaker 3: And that's probably the last time they're going to sound
- 16:35Speaker 3: anything like Kumbai yah. Perez has warned the deliberations quote
- 16:38Speaker 3: could take over a month end quote, but hopes they
- 16:41Speaker 3: wrap up over the next couple of weeks as scheduled.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And that's because the fiscal year ends July first, and
- 16:47Speaker 3: they have to have this budget in place. It's the
- 16:49Speaker 3: only constitutional requirement that they have. But here's the problem.
- 16:52Speaker 3: They're billions of dollars apart each chamber. I mean they're
- 16:56Speaker 3: billions of dollars apart.
- 16:57Speaker 2: So they're one alligator Alcatraz Park exactly. Wine job, one.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Job, seriously, one job, one job, one job. Get along
- 17:09Speaker 3: and figure it out.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Look at you're hiring one job. Can't pull it off.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Gas prices continue to decline in Florida. The latest triple
- 17:16Speaker 3: A number showed the state wide average for a gallon
- 17:18Speaker 3: of regular unletted is down four cents from Monday and
- 17:21Speaker 3: now sits at four thirty six a year ago.
- 17:25Speaker 2: What do you think the price was? Oh, I don't know,
- 17:27Speaker 2: but I saw it at like four nineteen on my
- 17:29Speaker 2: way in today. I was seeing a one out there
- 17:31Speaker 2: after the one was not too bad at all A
- 17:34Speaker 2: year ago. Yep, I'll go to eighty nine. Oh, I
- 17:38Speaker 2: was gonna go to ninety nine. Ooh two, sir, does
- 17:45Speaker 2: he get a bell? You go to bell?
- 17:48Speaker 3: The average for diesel is five twenty eight a gallon
- 17:51Speaker 3: in Florida.
- 17:52Speaker 2: On the word in the intro at three oh one,
- 17:56Speaker 2: I was waiting, Yeah, I like that stuff again.
- 17:59Speaker 3: The average for desail diesel five twenty eight a gallon.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Go ahead, jack, No, a gallon in Florida fractions of
- 18:06Speaker 3: a cent lower.
- 18:08Speaker 2: They can't stop.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Then on Monday, right, speaking of dollars and cents, paying
- 18:12Speaker 3: with cash in Florida will look a little different at
- 18:14Speaker 3: the checkout. Governor Ronda Santis, now just wait, you know,
- 18:20Speaker 3: why not?
- 18:20Speaker 4: Right?
- 18:21Speaker 3: They're not coming up with a budget, why not come
- 18:23Speaker 3: up with some other No. Governor Ronda Santis has signed
- 18:25Speaker 3: a bell allowing businesses to round certain cash cash purchases
- 18:29Speaker 3: to the nearest nickel pennies.
- 18:32Speaker 2: That's exactly That.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Move comes after the US mintstot producing pennies for circulation.
- 18:37Speaker 3: So totals ending in one or two cents will be
- 18:41Speaker 3: rounded down, while amounts ending in eight or nine cents
- 18:45Speaker 3: will be rounded up. The change applies only to cash,
- 18:48Speaker 3: while credit cards and other digital payments will still be
- 18:51Speaker 3: charged to the exact pennies.
- 18:53Speaker 2: So is that that's kind of weird. I wonder if
- 18:55Speaker 2: you worked out over a year, if you only spend
- 18:58Speaker 2: cash depending on the odds of it following falling between
- 19:02Speaker 2: those numbers, if you would actually save money paying cash. Now,
- 19:06Speaker 2: what do you do with the big jugs of pennies
- 19:07Speaker 2: that you have? Oh you can still cash those in, right?
- 19:10Speaker 2: Coinstars still pay your power bill for you. Well, I'm
- 19:12Speaker 2: gonna because I tell you Coinstar has paid my power
- 19:14Speaker 2: bill couple many, many a time. And by the way,
- 19:17Speaker 2: even when we weren't broke, there is nothing in the world.
- 19:19Speaker 2: My kids. Man, we would line up like ducks to
- 19:22Speaker 2: walk in the wind yisy and pour our water jug
- 19:25Speaker 2: of change into the coin star thing, and we watched
- 19:28Speaker 2: it like it was a magic trick. Everybody does, absolutely
- 19:31Speaker 2: fantasticybody does. Oh my god, Oh wow, you should have lived.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You should save change just to do it. It's that
- 19:37Speaker 2: much fun. I have, I have rollers. I have coin rollers.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah that's lame. No, that's how you keep your money
- 19:44Speaker 2: and not give it to a company to count it.
- 19:46Speaker 11: For you.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I ain't got no time for that, Jack. I got
- 19:49Speaker 2: a half of I got seventy five pounds of pennies.
- 19:51Speaker 2: They gotta get counted by somebody. Not ain't doing it well.
- 19:53Speaker 3: A big change is coming to Walt Disney World. President
- 19:56Speaker 3: Jeff Vale announced yesterday he's retiring after thirty six years
- 19:59Speaker 3: with company. His retirement will take effect in late July.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Vale says he started his career as an engineer at
- 20:06Speaker 3: the Magic Kingdom and he's wrapping it up with the
- 20:08Speaker 3: best job ever. He's been president for six years. Veil
- 20:12Speaker 3: adds as an exciting time at Disney, and he's looking
- 20:14Speaker 3: forward to the months ahead.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Very cool.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Orlando is considered one of the best cities to start
- 20:20Speaker 3: a career in Really Yeah. Wallet Hub put together a
- 20:23Speaker 3: list to help recent college graduates find quote the best
- 20:27Speaker 3: cradles for their for their budding careers end quote that.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Should have been in commencement space.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Right exactly, should have avoided all those booze. It compared
- 20:37Speaker 3: the relative market strength and overall liveability of more than
- 20:41Speaker 3: one hundred and eighty US cities. Orlando ranked second place
- 20:44Speaker 3: behind Atlanta. Austin, Tampa, and Miami round out the top
- 20:49Speaker 3: five the worst city to start a career, and according
- 20:52Speaker 3: to wallet hub is.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, nationwide. Is it New York? Weird city? Yeah?
- 20:59Speaker 2: Cost of living yeah, but that's San Francisco is the
- 21:01Speaker 2: same though.
- 21:01Speaker 3: That's why I'm surprised they put Miami in there. The
- 21:04Speaker 3: cost of living in Miami is not.
- 21:06Speaker 2: She well, my wife was going through a list last night.
- 21:08Speaker 2: We got in bed. She choes, you know, where do
- 21:10Speaker 2: you think this is? And where do you think outside
- 21:14Speaker 2: of one city where every expensive city in America is.
- 21:17Speaker 2: It's in California. Dude, I'm not kidding. It was nine
- 21:20Speaker 2: of the ten most expensive places to live in the
- 21:23Speaker 2: US were in California. I think New York was eight. Yeah,
- 21:26Speaker 2: oh yeah, San Diego, San Francisco, everywhere, all those wonderful
- 21:30Speaker 2: places on the Pacific. Go with the weather.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely, all right. Orlando is taking steps to
- 21:36Speaker 3: save dozens of birds from a deadly virus and construction.
- 21:39Speaker 3: The city announced it's going to start finding new homes
- 21:41Speaker 3: this weekend for over forty swans in Lake Yola. Over
- 21:45Speaker 3: two dozen swans died earlier this year due to where
- 21:47Speaker 3: bird flew outbreak. The swans are being moved to Lake Butler.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Some residents say they're going to miss seeing the swans
- 21:53Speaker 3: at Lake Yola, and City Commissioner Patty she And says
- 21:55Speaker 3: she hopes their absence won't be permanent. Mayor Buddy Dyer
- 21:59Speaker 3: said today that he doesn't think it's going to be permanent.
- 22:01Speaker 3: That hopefully after this sixty million dollar construction project is done,
- 22:05Speaker 3: they'll be able to bring the swans back, but maybe
- 22:07Speaker 3: not to the same number of swans as they have
- 22:10Speaker 3: right now.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we can't do that. It's part of
- 22:12Speaker 2: our city logo, isn't it. Do they need a building
- 22:14Speaker 2: because I think that sloth world building is ste that's
- 22:18Speaker 2: a deadly building too soon.
- 22:19Speaker 3: In the meantime, as she tells Channel nine, you'll likely
- 22:22Speaker 3: see wild swans visiting.
- 22:24Speaker 2: The lake, which would be pretty cool. Actual would be cool,
- 22:26Speaker 2: all right.
- 22:27Speaker 3: A Congressional field hearing is under way and West Palm Beach,
- 22:30Speaker 3: where the ranking Democrat in the House Oversight Committee is
- 22:33Speaker 3: convening a panel of Jeffrey Epstein victims and witnesses. Robert
- 22:38Speaker 3: Garcia says he is still fighting the Department of Justice
- 22:41Speaker 3: for transparency.
- 22:43Speaker 2: The duj continues to withhold half half of the Epstein
- 22:49Speaker 2: files have not been released to the public.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Now, this is straight up gangster. Garcia says he wanted
- 22:54Speaker 3: to hold the hearing just across the bridge from Epstein's
- 22:58Speaker 3: Palm Beach mansion, where many of his crimes occurred and
- 23:02Speaker 3: where they first came to light by Maria Farmer, as
- 23:05Speaker 3: confirmed by this Epstein victim.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Hello, my name is Danny Benski.
- 23:10Speaker 12: I was abused by Jeffrey Epstein in two thousand and four.
- 23:14Speaker 4: In two thousand and.
- 23:15Speaker 12: Five, that was eight years after Maria Farmer first reported
- 23:19Speaker 12: Jeffrey to the FBI.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, Farmer was the first person to go to the
- 23:23Speaker 3: FBI in nineteen ninety six and report evidence of the
- 23:28Speaker 3: abuses at the hands of the money manager. Much of
- 23:31Speaker 3: today's testimony is focusing on trying to understand why Epstein
- 23:35Speaker 3: got off with a so called sweetheart deal that allowed
- 23:38Speaker 3: him to serve time on work release starting in two
- 23:40Speaker 3: thousand and eight, not to mention leaving the premises having
- 23:43Speaker 3: young female visitors.
- 23:45Speaker 2: That was Acosta, right, yes, Yeah, who wund up getting
- 23:48Speaker 2: a pan who wound up getting a was a I
- 23:51Speaker 2: think he.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Was Transportation secretary during Trump's first term.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Alex Acosta.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, the first accusations against the late sex offender again
- 23:58Speaker 3: were made in nineteen ninety six.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Is one of the most polarizing cases I've ever been
- 24:01Speaker 2: a part of. And I will tell you every day
- 24:03Speaker 2: that goes by, and by the way, they know the people,
- 24:06Speaker 2: they know them, they know who it is, they know
- 24:08Speaker 2: all the co conspirators in this, and they're not doing
- 24:10Speaker 2: anything about it. Man. Marjorie Taylor Green dropped a blanking
- 24:14Speaker 2: scatter bomb on this about three days ago. Did you
- 24:16Speaker 2: guys see her statement? Now? Her statement was Trump asked
- 24:20Speaker 2: her specifically or told her and BONDI do not release
- 24:24Speaker 2: these files direct order to her face. Don't do it.
- 24:27Speaker 3: And the reason why is the most egregious part, because
- 24:30Speaker 3: many of my friends will be hurt.
- 24:33Speaker 2: So crazy, so crazy convictions. No, it is completely insane
- 24:39Speaker 2: that there have been any convictions for this, not one.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It's unbelievable. And they have the balls get on the
- 24:44Speaker 2: stand and say that he was trafficking all these girls
- 24:46Speaker 2: to himself. That's their story. By the way, go ahead.
- 24:49Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Those who lost loved ones in a South Florida plane
- 24:52Speaker 3: crash are grateful for the safety changes that followed. As
- 24:55Speaker 3: ceremony was held yesterday to Mark the I cannot believe
- 24:58Speaker 3: this thirtieth and of nursery of the deadly Value Jet crash.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Over one hundred people died when the plane traveling from
- 25:06Speaker 3: Miami to Atlanta went down in the Everglades. The crash,
- 25:09Speaker 3: if you guys remember, was blamed on a fire that
- 25:11Speaker 3: started when oxygen generating canisters and the cargo hold ignited.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Gail Dunham is executive director of the National Air Disaster Foundation,
- 25:20Speaker 3: and she says that crash led to life saving reforms.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Specifically, she says.
- 25:24Speaker 3: The only reason planes now have smoke detectors and fire
- 25:28Speaker 3: suppression and the cargo holds is because of years of
- 25:31Speaker 3: advocacy by family members and aviation professionals, which is great
- 25:35Speaker 3: because now when you fast forward and we have lithian
- 25:38Speaker 3: ion batteries which cause a lot of these fires. So yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys remember that was you
- 25:44Speaker 3: at a news story.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Value Jet became air tran exactly, they did, exactly. And
- 25:48Speaker 2: I remember that because when we first started radio. That
- 25:51Speaker 2: happened not long after that, and we had one of
- 25:54Speaker 2: the guys on the show write a song about it
- 25:55Speaker 2: or whatever. But the most amazing part of that crash
- 25:58Speaker 2: that I remember. Do you guys remember what was crazy
- 25:59Speaker 2: about it? It crashed into everyglade. There was like no
- 26:02Speaker 2: sign of the airplane. Yeah, exactly, Like it just went
- 26:06Speaker 2: into the earth and the earth just swallowed it up.
- 26:09Speaker 2: There was very little evidence of like anything happening. It
- 26:12Speaker 2: was kind of crazy. You see the impact site, but
- 26:14Speaker 2: it had just been washed over by the mud and stuff.
- 26:16Speaker 2: After that, there's like nothing. It's crazy.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Well, in the meantime, a man killed on the job
- 26:19Speaker 3: at Orlando International Airport is being remembered as a hardworking
- 26:23Speaker 3: family man. That's how Raymond Santiago recently described Daniel Maldonado.
- 26:27Speaker 3: The forty nine year old Maldonado died last week when
- 26:30Speaker 3: an aircraft towing vehicle called a tug hit the passenger
- 26:34Speaker 3: boarding bridge she was on.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Oh God.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Maldonado and Santiago started working for Delta about thirty years
- 26:41Speaker 3: ago after graduating from high school. Maldonado had family in Columbia,
- 26:45Speaker 3: and Santiago says Maldonado took the job so he could
- 26:47Speaker 3: travel back and forth. The FAA and OSHA are investigating
- 26:51Speaker 3: the accident, and they do believe it was just a
- 26:53Speaker 3: tragic workplace accident, and Santiago tells Channel nine, even for
- 26:57Speaker 3: someone as experienced as Maldonado, there are so many ways
- 27:02Speaker 3: things can still go wrong. And Jimmy, you were talking
- 27:04Speaker 3: yesterday being a passenger on a plane and watching all
- 27:07Speaker 3: that movement under the belly, you're amazed that more accidents
- 27:10Speaker 3: don't occur.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It is it's like a ballet under that thing of
- 27:13Speaker 2: people in cars and vehicles of all sizes and shapes
- 27:16Speaker 2: like buzzing around like crazy. And it's not just your plane.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's happening too. There's like ten of them in a row. Yeah, exactly,
- 27:21Speaker 2: every one of them is being serviced by this army
- 27:24Speaker 2: of people doing it. I don't understand how there's not
- 27:26Speaker 2: a major problem every single day. It's really a testament
- 27:29Speaker 2: to how good they are are keeping everybody safe. And
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean our heart goes out for this family, of course,
- 27:34Speaker 2: because it was a tragic accident. But I mean when
- 27:36Speaker 2: you look at the number of people who have been
- 27:37Speaker 2: hurt seriously on the tarmac out there, I mean that's
- 27:40Speaker 2: a pretty impressive ratio if you asked me, very much.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So, all right, twenty days until the start of the
- 27:44Speaker 3: twenty twenty six Atlantic hurricane season. National Oceanic and Atmospheric
- 27:50Speaker 3: Administration and National Hurricanes and National Hurricane Center Director Michael
- 27:55Speaker 3: Brennan says NOAH will be out with its forecast next
- 27:58Speaker 3: week but no matter what, but it says you should
- 28:01Speaker 3: prepare for the worst.
- 28:03Speaker 2: One of the most vulnerable locations in the country to
- 28:05Speaker 2: the impacts from tropical storms and hurricanes.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Is this is the time to get ready.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Other forecast centers are predicting a slightly below average season
- 28:12Speaker 3: right because of the expected super El Nino. But Brennan
- 28:15Speaker 3: warrens it only takes one storm to do major damage.
- 28:18Speaker 3: New and improve forecasting cones we'll be used this year
- 28:21Speaker 3: showing forward speed and direction along with extended inland watches,
- 28:26Speaker 3: So instead of just having the cone of uncertainty, they're
- 28:28Speaker 3: going to have warnings and watches and forward movement in
- 28:31Speaker 3: that cone so we can follow yesterday.
- 28:34Speaker 2: It's so funny they have a cone of uncertainty, but
- 28:36Speaker 2: yet we're supposed to be certain the cone knows where
- 28:38Speaker 2: the uncertainty is to make sure we got that. I'm
- 28:43Speaker 2: just always think it's a little fun how we use
- 28:46Speaker 2: NOAH to predict bad weather, and that's like, yeah, just
- 28:51Speaker 2: like the Bible said followed directions, just follow the arrow
- 28:55Speaker 2: of uncertainty. Yeah, exactly, all right.
- 28:57Speaker 3: There's a new wildfire burning in the Assiola National four.
- 29:00Speaker 3: The two seven fires started east of Ocean Pond and
- 29:03Speaker 3: north of Velusty on Monday afternoon. It grew to about
- 29:06Speaker 3: sixteen acres before crews got it under control. Bulldozers and
- 29:09Speaker 3: air units, including multiple helicopters, were used to contain the flames. Today,
- 29:14Speaker 3: firefighters and continuing mop up operations. There's no wordom going
- 29:17Speaker 3: to cause the blaze, but in the meantime, firefighters are
- 29:20Speaker 3: beginning to gain the upper hand. And a pair of
- 29:22Speaker 3: brush fires in South Florida. The smaller one is South
- 29:26Speaker 3: Miami Dade County. It's fifty percent contained at three hundred acres,
- 29:30Speaker 3: but Miami Dade Fire Rescues Erica Benitez says people near
- 29:34Speaker 3: Florida Stity and Homestead could smell its effects as storms
- 29:37Speaker 3: roll in this afternoon and evening.
- 29:40Speaker 13: While the rainfall may assist in firefighting efforts, it may
- 29:44Speaker 13: also cause smoke in haste to settle closer to the ground,
- 29:48Speaker 13: potentially impacting some of the nearby communities.
- 29:51Speaker 3: So the massive blaze near the Miami Dade Broward County
- 29:54Speaker 3: line in the Everglades is now seventy percent contained at
- 29:57Speaker 3: more than eleven thousand acres. Imagine being someone held up
- 30:01Speaker 3: at Alligator Alcatraz smelling the smoke and not knowing. Oh yeah, yeah, right, yeah, exactly.
- 30:07Speaker 3: People with respiratory conditions, older people, children, and pregnant women
- 30:11Speaker 3: might want to avoid outdoor activity. And if you're going
- 30:13Speaker 3: to be traveling to the Keys, like over the weekend,
- 30:15Speaker 3: you might want to keep an eye on this because
- 30:17Speaker 3: this had people being moved from you know, road closures
- 30:19Speaker 3: and stuff. Oh really, yeah, I mean, and driving to
- 30:21Speaker 3: the Keys from here is already shined.
- 30:24Speaker 2: To Europe. It's very long.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I mean, orally, you could fly to England and the
- 30:27Speaker 3: time it takes you to drive from Orlando to Key West.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I was just in the Keys a couple of weeks
- 30:32Speaker 2: ago on a cruise and I have to tell you,
- 30:34Speaker 2: I looked around saw some of the people. I don't
- 30:35Speaker 2: think they're gonna be affected by anything. I think they're
- 30:38Speaker 2: literally impervious to every single thing on Earth. Well, I
- 30:43Speaker 2: think if you hit them in the face with an asteroid,
- 30:45Speaker 2: it would literally be like headbutting them. They would get up,
- 30:47Speaker 2: make another margarita and move on.
- 30:49Speaker 3: That's why they're with the conk Republic.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'm like, dude, are you wearing two different
- 30:53Speaker 2: flip flops? Are good for you? You know the one
- 30:56Speaker 2: blew out? Yeah? On a pop top? Oh you need
- 30:58Speaker 2: is a tan. Some jorts think it's actually cheaper to
- 31:01Speaker 2: fly to the Keys and drive there. Especially it is.
- 31:03Speaker 3: It has to because it has to be, especially if
- 31:05Speaker 3: that Sandford deal. Yeah, allegiance, yeah Sanford, right, Ye, fly
- 31:11Speaker 3: in the morning and fly back at night.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Drive. Oh my gosh, you could get to Miami. You're like,
- 31:16Speaker 2: oh man, we're so close. No, bitch, you are not closed.
- 31:19Speaker 2: You're still four hours away.
- 31:20Speaker 3: You're halfway there, half way there there, and now you
- 31:24Speaker 3: get to do the last part of your journey on
- 31:25Speaker 3: a two lane highway and have fun.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Hope nobody breaks down. No thanks, I'll stop at Miami
- 31:29Speaker 2: going a cruise. I'm going to continue four hours on
- 31:32Speaker 2: so I can drink with some naked eighty five year old.
- 31:34Speaker 2: No thank you.
- 31:36Speaker 3: SpaceX is warning folks in central Florida about a possible
- 31:39Speaker 3: sonic boom this evening.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Mad this bad boy is going to reach far.
- 31:42Speaker 3: The aerospace company is preparing to launch a Falcon nine
- 31:45Speaker 3: rocket from Cape Canaveral to resupply the International Space Station.
- 31:50Speaker 3: That means residents in Bravarred Orange, Osceola, Indian River, Seminole, Velusia, Hulk,
- 31:56Speaker 3: Saint Lucy and Okachobee Counties may hear the sonic boom
- 32:00Speaker 3: during the ground landing of the Falcon nine first stage.
- 32:03Speaker 3: The launch is scheduled for seven to sixteen PM and
- 32:06Speaker 3: the landing is expected about eight minutes later.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Wow.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Really yeah, so right about the time we'll be getting
- 32:11Speaker 3: close to home. Really accepted. Lake County is spared from this.
- 32:16Speaker 3: It looks like everyone on the East coast, although Polk
- 32:18Speaker 3: County gets it.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, why do they get it? I don't know
- 32:21Speaker 2: that they don't know. I'm going to dinner with my
- 32:23Speaker 2: wife tonight and I think we're sitting on a balcony
- 32:25Speaker 2: in this area we're going. I'm not gonna tell her
- 32:26Speaker 2: anything about it. When it happens, I'm just going to
- 32:28Speaker 2: hit the floor. Just puts a cap in your ass
- 32:33Speaker 2: and you're in that darringer and just unloads it in
- 32:37Speaker 2: my back.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And then finally, an ice cream company is offering a
- 32:40Speaker 3: new product aim to help consumers put their phones down.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Halo Top is set to release a silent i'll mode spoon.
- 32:50Speaker 3: It's designed to put your mobile device on the do
- 32:52Speaker 3: not Disturb setting by using an NFC connection A field
- 32:56Speaker 3: something connection couldn't tell you net field connection.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I believe you're bringing that up to me. Sometimes I
- 33:01Speaker 2: can turn in the making. Yeah, Halotop is an ice
- 33:03Speaker 2: cream company, right, the local ice cream.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Company that's used for things like contactless payments or sharing data.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yes, you're right.
- 33:09Speaker 3: The website says the spoons will be available on Friday
- 33:13Speaker 3: for a limited time and will go for around five bucks.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Apparently it's closer to like four to ninety yeah, which
- 33:20Speaker 3: is how many calories are in a Halo poe.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yeah. I was about to say, Man, the thing is
- 33:24Speaker 2: with that Halo Top. You laugh at it because you
- 33:26Speaker 2: hear that local ice cream. That's the first one I
- 33:28Speaker 2: bought for my wife when that thing came out probably
- 33:30Speaker 2: what six seven years ago whatever it was, and brought
- 33:33Speaker 2: it home and due she fell in love with it.
- 33:35Speaker 2: It actually is a damn good product. I guess it's
- 33:37Speaker 2: nothing like ice cream, but I mean it's you know,
- 33:38Speaker 2: it's pretty good.
- 33:39Speaker 3: But this Friday, May fifteenth, for four dollars and ninety cents.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Right again, the calories and Halo top ice cream. It
- 33:46Speaker 3: will automatically set your iPhone and Android to do not
- 33:50Speaker 3: Disturb modes so that you can enjoy your ice cream
- 33:53Speaker 3: without being bombarded with text messages.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Which is nice. They want to say for your ice cream.
- 33:58Speaker 2: You know what I do. I with my thumb and
- 34:01Speaker 2: save four dollars ninety nine. I don't want to know.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I don't know what you do. It burning your money,
- 34:08Speaker 2: is burning your money so cheap. First, it's coinstar. Now
- 34:11Speaker 2: it's a spoon that turns your phone. That's silent. And
- 34:14Speaker 2: if you ever if you ever thought that we bag
- 34:16Speaker 2: on Jack for being cheap, let me just give you
- 34:18Speaker 2: a heads up. Go to the YouTube channel right now
- 34:19Speaker 2: and look at that T shirt. That effort is twenty
- 34:22Speaker 2: two years old. That's a twenty year old T shirt.
- 34:25Speaker 2: This T shirt and actually maybe older than that. What's
- 34:28Speaker 2: funny is this T shirt is brand new. I took
- 34:31Speaker 2: it off the shelf this morning because it's the second
- 34:33Speaker 2: shirt I'm wearing today. Oh I sweat the first one.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Why he was doing yard work? I was, oh, here, yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 2: I do yardwork at the station for a little extra money.
- 34:45Speaker 2: He has hedges. Don't laugh, don't.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Laugh, trust me, don't give them any ideas.
- 34:50Speaker 2: The next time you see me outside at the radio
- 34:53Speaker 2: station cutting grass, I wanna be like, it's in my contract, dude.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Sorry, well I either way, that concludes your JCS news.
- 35:04Speaker 2: All right, seven, it's an old ass logo though. That
- 35:08Speaker 2: is an old that's the very first logo we have.
- 35:10Speaker 2: It is and I had these made as a like
- 35:13Speaker 2: a retro throwback. It was a retro. It says established
- 35:16Speaker 2: nineteen ninety three underneath it. Oh that's so cool. They
- 35:20Speaker 2: can get you. I'm gonna have to gang one of
- 35:22Speaker 2: those bub What size you want? Extra media? Why would
- 35:24Speaker 2: you ask me that on the air? Extra extra large? Yeah, yeah,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm a I'm a light double. No, I'm a light X. Okay,
- 35:32Speaker 2: a light X in other words, not full X, light X.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I'm between large and extra large. We call that. What's
- 35:39Speaker 2: a dad, dad? Yeah, that's what it is. A beer dad.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Now give me a sized bear dad. I'm about all
- 35:47Speaker 2: right four seven nine six four one family. By the way,
- 35:50Speaker 2: that is your three o'clock keyword. F A M I
- 35:52Speaker 2: L Y. You know what to do real radio FM
- 35:55Speaker 2: and send that away. For your chance of a thousand
- 35:56Speaker 2: bucks back.
- 35:57Speaker 11: On a second, Jimmy, just assume that Jack shirt was
- 36:07Speaker 11: twenty two years old because he's used to seeing two x's.
- 36:11Speaker 2: In front of his shirt's eyes. Hey, hey, I'll.
- 36:17Speaker 9: Keep your eyes on the local news. There's not a
- 36:19Speaker 9: whole lot of information right now, but the Coast Guard
- 36:22Speaker 9: just fished ten people out of the water eighty miles
- 36:25Speaker 9: off Melbourne in a plane crash. There is no news
- 36:28Speaker 9: what type of plane it was, but if there were ten,
- 36:31Speaker 9: including pilots, and all successfully rescued, probably uh could be
- 36:37Speaker 9: a King Air twin prop anyway.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Helloh hello, ha brother, thanks for that heads up. We'll
- 36:43Speaker 2: get on it real quick. Borrow seven nine four one
- 36:46Speaker 2: text us at seven seven zero three to one. You're
- 36:49Speaker 2: three o'clock. You were only about four minutes or so.
- 36:51Speaker 2: It's family. We'll have a fresh one for you at
- 36:53Speaker 2: the top of the hour right before we get to
- 36:55Speaker 2: what you do. That's new, which is my selection today,
- 36:59Speaker 2: and we'll find out what Deb has to offer coming
- 37:00Speaker 2: up for next week. Coop, I forgot I am Jim.
- 37:03Speaker 2: There's dead. Oh and Jack is here as well.
- 37:07Speaker 3: It was actually a C twenty seven aircraft. This is
- 37:11Speaker 3: according to WFTV Channel nine, Rather, a C twenty seven
- 37:15Speaker 3: aircraft was launched to search for a downplane that crashed
- 37:18Speaker 3: about eighty miles off Melbourne as brought A. Matt said,
- 37:21Speaker 3: all ten people on board were accounted for and being
- 37:24Speaker 3: brought to EMS for evaluation.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Oh they survived, Yes they did, Dan, That's awesome.
- 37:30Speaker 3: The Aircraft Accidents Investigation Authorities said it received report shortly
- 37:34Speaker 3: before noon about an overdue aircraft that was headed to
- 37:37Speaker 3: Grand Bahama International Airport.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Let me ask, I'm gonna ask a dumb question real quick.
- 37:42Speaker 2: There's never been like a simulator for something like that, right,
- 37:45Speaker 2: like a simulator that would simulate like a soft impact.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I know that they've crashed airplanes and put a bunch
- 37:51Speaker 2: of sensors and cameras to figure out, you know, what
- 37:53Speaker 2: happens inside when that happens. You've seen that, right, It's crazy.
- 37:56Speaker 2: They crash like a I forget what size it was,
- 38:00Speaker 2: like a seven thirty seven or something out there and
- 38:01Speaker 2: wired it all up. And if somebody, if these guys
- 38:04Speaker 2: all all survived, that means the pilot obviously was pretty
- 38:07Speaker 2: earn good at putting the thing down.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Three people have suffered injuries.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Yeah, man, that's great. Are you kidding? That's pretty amasses.
- 38:15Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 3: I mean that's like the miracle on the Hudson Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 38:18Speaker 3: that pilot being able to land a jet full of
- 38:20Speaker 3: people and fuel onto the middle of the Hudson River
- 38:22Speaker 3: in the middle of New York City.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Sully, way to go silly, didn't they guy catch hell
- 38:28Speaker 2: from a group of people for some reason? Do you
- 38:30Speaker 2: ever remember it? Wasn't there some pushback on that, like
- 38:32Speaker 2: this guy saved an entire plane full of people and
- 38:34Speaker 2: somebody's bitching. Yeah, and also he fought like they made
- 38:39Speaker 2: the movie Tom Hanks played him, yea, yeah, but I
- 38:42Speaker 2: remember like they were kept referring to as a crash.
- 38:45Speaker 2: He goes, it wasn't a crash landing, it was a
- 38:48Speaker 2: water land right, it was a scene. Yeah. I didn't
- 38:50Speaker 2: crash that plane. I landed it, you know, and nobody
- 38:53Speaker 2: nobody died in that crash to then correct, not one
- 38:56Speaker 2: person died landing a jet in a river. Yeah. That's unbelievable, dude.
- 39:01Speaker 2: I mean that is like hero hero status right there
- 39:04Speaker 2: is solely still with us, by the way.
- 39:06Speaker 3: He is, apparently when asked about how well it worked
- 39:10Speaker 3: at home with him with the wife.
- 39:13Speaker 2: He just smiled. Oh yeah, he was able to use
- 39:16Speaker 2: that hero card for quite a while. You feel like that?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Do women like that? Is that the why women like
- 39:20Speaker 2: cops and firefighters so much? Because of that hero thing?
- 39:23Speaker 2: Is that what happened?
- 39:24Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 39:24Speaker 2: That in the cool uniforms? Yeah? Really? Is it the
- 39:27Speaker 2: same thing with military? Is that the same reason why
- 39:29Speaker 2: tho plots have uniforms? Yes they do, Jack, I do
- 39:33Speaker 2: not want to know. Guess who's going as this Halloween.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I don't want to know, not even one syllable of
- 39:39Speaker 2: your cosplay clauset.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Oh, I do everything the costumes kept jazz.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Oh is it baby dinosaur night? Yeah you do. We'll
- 39:47Speaker 2: get him stretching his uh huh. We're just scratch his neck,
- 39:51Speaker 2: you know. Is that that nervous scratching gets sometimes he'll
- 39:53Speaker 2: pick a hole in himself in a minute. When I
- 39:54Speaker 2: hit a nerve, he will do it. There he is there,
- 39:57Speaker 2: got you ruin this shirt? Vintag get it?
- 40:00Speaker 3: Oh my god, you guys sound like you've been married forever.
- 40:03Speaker 2: All right, man, I got a story to talk about
- 40:04Speaker 2: a little bit later that is fascinating. Do you guys
- 40:06Speaker 2: hear the story about this French team. Uh, she woke
- 40:09Speaker 2: up after a three week coma. Let me get I'll
- 40:12Speaker 2: ask this question first and we'll talk about the story
- 40:14Speaker 2: just a little bit. What's the most what's the most
- 40:16Speaker 2: realistic dream you ever had? Do you remember?
- 40:20Speaker 7: Oh?
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, when you have real real and we don't have
- 40:22Speaker 2: time to talk about it now, but just remember, as
- 40:24Speaker 2: we're thinking about this, because we'll probably talk about this
- 40:26Speaker 2: around four twenty or so, remember the most realistic dream
- 40:29Speaker 2: you ever had and the consequences of having that dream
- 40:32Speaker 2: after you woke up, and that is that is consequential
- 40:36Speaker 2: to the story we'll talk about with this French team
- 40:38Speaker 2: around four twenty. Because it's pretty fascinating. And I've had
- 40:41Speaker 2: an experience kind of like this before and it was horrifying.
- 40:45Speaker 2: So we'll talk about that in just a few minutes.
- 40:46Speaker 2: What'd you do that too? In a fresh keyword right now.
- 40:48Speaker 14: Oliver crew, blessings of first, But let's offen said to
- 40:52Speaker 14: everybody out that have the careful k on the wet
- 40:54Speaker 14: road went on, stopped the stupidity anyway, Let's move on.
- 40:57Speaker 14: Deb I just got in the car, turn on the
- 41:00Speaker 14: ridd wanted to hear you to stop talking about Yan
- 41:03Speaker 14: and I made the biggest jaw cracking yawn ever. Don't
- 41:07Speaker 14: want to hear Jimmy say he's chuggling to fight the
- 41:10Speaker 14: yan yan again. That's yeah, that's something that I need
- 41:15Speaker 14: to get answered. Also, trust me.
- 41:20Speaker 15: Hey you all, This is Donna from Melbourne and I
- 41:23Speaker 15: was just calling to check in with Jim to see
- 41:26Speaker 15: if there was any news on the relative.
- 41:29Speaker 2: What are you looking for?
- 41:31Speaker 15: I might have missed an update. I'm try not to,
- 41:34Speaker 15: but I might have. You all have a great day.
- 41:37Speaker 15: Thank you program, Thank.
- 41:39Speaker 2: You very much. I appreciate that. Very thoughtful of you. Well,
- 41:41Speaker 2: welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. We're all radio
- 41:44Speaker 2: one oh four point one. Yeah, we did find him.
- 41:46Speaker 2: He's a massive drug dealer and he got arrested. So
- 41:48Speaker 2: nah your four o'clock he were just fun fu in.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Go to real radio dot VIM and send that away
- 41:55Speaker 2: for your chance at one thousand dollars. Fun is the word, guys,
- 41:58Speaker 2: Go get that money. I'm Jim, there's day Hello. Jack
- 42:01Speaker 2: is here as well. Yeah, I thought already get even
- 42:02Speaker 2: Did I not do this?
- 42:03Speaker 11: You did?
- 42:04Speaker 2: But not everyone listens to all four hours every day
- 42:07Speaker 2: of the week, understood, And I did bring it up
- 42:09Speaker 2: a number of times before, but just to recap the
- 42:11Speaker 2: story for everybody that does not know, I guess about
- 42:14Speaker 2: three weeks ago. Well, actually it happened when I was
- 42:17Speaker 2: up in March at my golf tournament. I was going
- 42:20Speaker 2: to hang out with my uncle that I only get
- 42:22Speaker 2: to see occasionally, right, And in the context of hanging
- 42:24Speaker 2: out with my uncle, he let me know, by the way,
- 42:27Speaker 2: our disabled cousin, his nephew, my cousin is missing and
- 42:32Speaker 2: has been missing for months.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Not that that's terrifying or anything, Yeah, yeah, because I
- 42:38Speaker 3: mean he is, you know, doesn't really have the capability
- 42:40Speaker 3: of living on his own.
- 42:42Speaker 2: He doesn't need is it palative care? Is that the
- 42:44Speaker 2: care like twenty four hours a day kind of thing care?
- 42:46Speaker 2: Is that what we're talking about? Is that what that is?
- 42:48Speaker 2: I believe so well. Paliative care is when it's just
- 42:52Speaker 2: making you comfortable. It's not as you're going, it's not
- 42:55Speaker 2: curing thing. Yeah. Yeah, So he just needs he just
- 42:58Speaker 2: needs care to help move through life. Like I don't
- 43:01Speaker 2: think he can cook or anything like that, but he is.
- 43:03Speaker 2: He didn't have a job at Walmart at one point,
- 43:05Speaker 2: so he you know, he is capable of doing things
- 43:06Speaker 2: like that. But as he gets a little bit older
- 43:08Speaker 2: and it comes because of the birth effects he had
- 43:11Speaker 2: growing up. You know, he has really bad legs, a
- 43:13Speaker 2: back back. He's hydrousypholic. But he's a great person, a
- 43:18Speaker 2: really good person. He was in the care of his brother,
- 43:20Speaker 2: who is you know, maybe not such a savory dude.
- 43:23Speaker 2: And we had some questions. I'd gone through every outlet
- 43:27Speaker 2: I could go through to get information, but they don't
- 43:29Speaker 2: give any information out Man, he's a fifty three or
- 43:32Speaker 2: four year old guy, and that is it. I have
- 43:34Speaker 2: to tell you of all the things I learned through
- 43:37Speaker 2: this thing that we're dealing with, is I don't know
- 43:40Speaker 2: what to do. Like, I don't know he's fifty three.
- 43:43Speaker 3: He is power of attorney. That's what you'd need to
- 43:45Speaker 3: have that.
- 43:46Speaker 2: I would have to find him to get that. Like
- 43:48Speaker 2: that's the thing, right, I mean, you have to be
- 43:50Speaker 2: you have to get power of attorney. But the person
- 43:52Speaker 2: that you want power of attorney over has to kind
- 43:54Speaker 2: of agree to that. We didn't know where he was, Like,
- 43:56Speaker 2: we didn't cook and get information from the hospital. The
- 43:58Speaker 2: only thing is is a gentleman at the hospital said
- 44:02Speaker 2: he was there, Like, because that's the only clue we
- 44:05Speaker 2: had of where he was. They confirmed he was there,
- 44:07Speaker 2: but he had been discharged in March of last year.
- 44:12Speaker 2: And the only other good thing was is they can't
- 44:15Speaker 2: legally discharge anybody without somewhere to go, right They have
- 44:19Speaker 2: to have a home to go to, somewhere to go to.
- 44:21Speaker 2: And the situation, I'm not going I'm not gonna get
- 44:23Speaker 2: into it because it's not good. But you know, he
- 44:26Speaker 2: didn't really have anywhere to go, didn't have anywhere to go,
- 44:28Speaker 2: and he didn't call us, which we couldn't figure out.
- 44:30Speaker 2: But he doesn't have a phone, has no way to
- 44:32Speaker 2: get a phone, you know, has the mentality of like
- 44:34Speaker 2: a you know, a young person, so he doesn't really
- 44:36Speaker 2: and even though he knows I live in Orlando and
- 44:38Speaker 2: work in Orlando, never mentioned it to anybody. And believe
- 44:42Speaker 2: it or not, he's right here in Orlando. Oh wow.
- 44:46Speaker 2: When they discharged him from the hospital, they sent him
- 44:49Speaker 2: to a facility that handles people like him. But again,
- 44:52Speaker 2: because of his age, you can get zero information. It
- 44:57Speaker 2: just so turned out that there's somebody in our family
- 45:00Speaker 2: it has a connection in that world and was able
- 45:03Speaker 2: to use their professional contacts and what they do for
- 45:09Speaker 2: a living to access information and found out where he was.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Then they started calling the facility and nobody would pick
- 45:16Speaker 2: up the phone, so we didn't. And again so they
- 45:19Speaker 2: just drove down here on a whim and just drove
- 45:23Speaker 2: right up to the place, and short enough, when they
- 45:24Speaker 2: walked in there, he was thank god didn't and still
- 45:29Speaker 2: have no we're going to seem Sunday. We have no
- 45:31Speaker 2: explanation to where he was, how it got there, no
- 45:35Speaker 2: explanation of what's going on, no explanation on how he's
- 45:39Speaker 2: how it's being paid for. Because this particular facility, when
- 45:42Speaker 2: you go to their website, how much it's fifty three
- 45:45Speaker 2: hundred dollars a month to live there. Wow, because they
- 45:48Speaker 2: do everything, food, everything like that. You're cared for your
- 45:51Speaker 2: you know, you have your own room, you have aac,
- 45:53Speaker 2: you've got entertainment, you know, TV movies, whatever the case
- 45:56Speaker 2: may be, and you're taken care of showers, stuff like that.
- 46:01Speaker 2: We found out he didn't have any clothes, so we're
- 46:04Speaker 2: taking him clothes and toiletries and everything like that and
- 46:06Speaker 2: kind of figure out what's going on. But you might
- 46:09Speaker 2: ruin his gig and look, man, listen, this has been
- 46:14Speaker 2: talked about like maybe he didn't call anybody because he's
- 46:16Speaker 2: happy and thought if he called somebody that it would
- 46:19Speaker 2: take ruin the situation because if he's in a place
- 46:21Speaker 2: where he's happy, he's had somebody to talk to. He
- 46:23Speaker 2: likes watching prices, right, he's gonna do that. And now
- 46:26Speaker 2: we find out they have family, it's like, oh, you
- 46:28Speaker 2: can take over the bill a ward of the state,
- 46:32Speaker 2: and now it'll be the war to Jim Colby. So
- 46:34Speaker 2: I wanted to ask something because I find this interesting.
- 46:37Speaker 2: So if if he gets discharged and this facility agrees
- 46:41Speaker 2: to take him, there has to be some type of
- 46:43Speaker 2: government program or grant that they file on his behalf,
- 46:48Speaker 2: Like he would probably give them power of attorney right
- 46:50Speaker 2: to file for this grant on his behalf. And you know, again,
- 46:53Speaker 2: he's not going to negotiate with you. It's like he's
- 46:56Speaker 2: like a twelve or thirteen year old. Yeah, right, So
- 46:58Speaker 2: there's I mean, and he would be high suggestible. So
- 47:01Speaker 2: the people at the facility could just simply say, hey, look,
- 47:03Speaker 2: if you want to stay here, this is what we
- 47:05Speaker 2: need to do, and go through with it. Because I
- 47:08Speaker 2: know his disability check is nothing. He could not live
- 47:11Speaker 2: on his disability check could not do it impossible.
- 47:15Speaker 3: This is when that the world of taking care of
- 47:19Speaker 3: someone who is either dealing with memory care problems or
- 47:23Speaker 3: this this is the whole new legal world because like
- 47:25Speaker 3: I told you before, you know, I just always assumed
- 47:28Speaker 3: that my brother and former sister in law were always
- 47:32Speaker 3: going to have access to their children. They're their children,
- 47:34Speaker 3: right and they're severely autistic. So but I learned that
- 47:38Speaker 3: the tractice when they're eighteen, you lose all access even
- 47:42Speaker 3: though they are your children. So this is murcury. I
- 47:46Speaker 3: would get in touch with some legal help.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Let me ask you a quick question on that's very
- 47:49Speaker 2: interesting because when I remember you telling me about this,
- 47:52Speaker 2: like when they turn eighteen, because it was infuriating to you. Yeah,
- 47:54Speaker 2: I mean it's because they're not capable of understanding even
- 47:58Speaker 2: what power of attorney is. Do you have to prove
- 48:00Speaker 2: that to a judge, Like when you're doing this, you
- 48:02Speaker 2: have to take the kids into a judge and say, hey, look,
- 48:04Speaker 2: you know you can interact with them, you can completely understand.
- 48:07Speaker 2: You could say power of attorney in fifteen languages. They're
- 48:10Speaker 2: not gonna get it. They're not picking up. They don't understand.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I don't know, if necessarily you have to bring them
- 48:15Speaker 3: in or just through meta dog records and stuff, that
- 48:17Speaker 3: you'd be able to do that. But this is that
- 48:20Speaker 3: this is that kind of mercury.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Mercury.
- 48:22Speaker 3: This is that murky field that you know, unless you're
- 48:25Speaker 3: shoved into this, thank you Jack, Unless you're you know,
- 48:27Speaker 3: shoved into this situation, you really don't know legally what
- 48:30Speaker 3: your rights are because again, you guys are two guys
- 48:33Speaker 3: in your fifties. Yeah, who can have the right. I
- 48:37Speaker 3: don't know how that works legally. I don't know how
- 48:39Speaker 3: that works.
- 48:39Speaker 2: So if you're I mean, so if you have a
- 48:43Speaker 2: DOWNS child, right, if you if you have a downshout
- 48:45Speaker 2: or a severely autistic child that you know is going
- 48:47Speaker 2: to need care for pretty much the remainder of their life.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Is that what happens at eighteen years old, you just
- 48:52Speaker 2: automatically get power of attorney over them so you can
- 48:55Speaker 2: take care of them for the remainder of their existence.
- 48:57Speaker 3: It's not automatic. I mean, it's something that you have
- 48:59Speaker 3: to pursue. You just have to remember to do it.
- 49:01Speaker 3: You can't assume that because you're the parent, you're always
- 49:04Speaker 3: going to have access legally, you won't.
- 49:05Speaker 2: That's what I meant, automatically, you consider, you know yourself
- 49:08Speaker 2: automatically at eighteen years old, you need to go and
- 49:11Speaker 2: take care of this and get power of attorney, because
- 49:13Speaker 2: if anything happens and they're over eighteen and you did
- 49:15Speaker 2: not do that, you literally wouldn't have a say in
- 49:17Speaker 2: what's happening to them.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Right, And that's why, even though it takes effect at eighteen,
- 49:21Speaker 3: you might want to start that process at sixteen, just
- 49:24Speaker 3: because you don't know what kind of legal obstacles could
- 49:27Speaker 3: be put in your way. Yeah, and you don't want
- 49:29Speaker 3: to leave it until the last minute.
- 49:30Speaker 2: And again, nobody thought about this because you know, the
- 49:33Speaker 2: last time I saw my cousin was at his father's funeral.
- 49:36Speaker 2: He lost his mom years ago. His brother isn't like
- 49:41Speaker 2: a savory dude, right, not really capable of taking care
- 49:44Speaker 2: much less himself than a disabled, you know, fifty year
- 49:47Speaker 2: old man. And when his father passed, his father was
- 49:50Speaker 2: pretty much his his guiding light. And when his father passed,
- 49:53Speaker 2: he basically kind of fell into the guardianship of his brother.
- 49:56Speaker 2: And that was the worst possible thing that could happen
- 49:58Speaker 2: to him, the absolute worst possible thing that could happen
- 50:00Speaker 2: to him crazy, and we would have never thought about
- 50:05Speaker 2: that because the dude's been married, like he had a life.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Matter of fact, at one point he was the most
- 50:09Speaker 2: successful guy in their family. And that's not a joke.
- 50:12Speaker 2: He is. He had a wife, he had a place
- 50:14Speaker 2: to live. Both he and his wife had great jobs.
- 50:16Speaker 2: They were making money. My man was loving racing, like
- 50:20Speaker 2: hanging out watching stuff on TV, like posting all the
- 50:22Speaker 2: time about monster trucks, which he loves, like he had
- 50:25Speaker 2: it going on. And then his wife divorced him. And
- 50:28Speaker 2: then when she divorced him, he had to go back
- 50:30Speaker 2: out in the world, no dad to take care of him,
- 50:32Speaker 2: had to lean on his brother, the only person he knew,
- 50:36Speaker 2: and then off we go.
- 50:38Speaker 3: But the good news is you found him.
- 50:40Speaker 2: And he's okay. Yeah, he's a lark, but you might
- 50:44Speaker 2: really mess up his situation by showing up. I'm gonna
- 50:48Speaker 2: tell you. I'll tell you something. But I hadn't seen
- 50:50Speaker 2: him in so long. The last time I saw him
- 50:51Speaker 2: before this funeral was years before that. And when I
- 50:55Speaker 2: walked up, it had been a while since I saw him.
- 50:58Speaker 2: His father told him who I was, and he looked
- 51:01Speaker 2: at me and he said stop made and curse. But
- 51:03Speaker 2: he said, no, it's not like he didn't recognize me
- 51:06Speaker 2: because I've lost my hair and chose the wrong chalice
- 51:12Speaker 2: because I looked seventy five years older that he saw
- 51:15Speaker 2: me last time. Last time, I had the flowing mullet
- 51:17Speaker 2: in the chip too. They didn't know who I was.
- 51:20Speaker 2: I was a bail bondsman. According to him. Oh you better,
- 51:23Speaker 2: I would say Futon video on this reunion. I'm sorry. Oh,
- 51:26Speaker 2: we're definitely gonna do that. So Kurts, my uncle's coming
- 51:29Speaker 2: down on Sunday and we're gonna be a visiting him
- 51:31Speaker 2: on Sunday. We're gonna do it. Last last week, but
- 51:34Speaker 2: we found out that Saturday the facility has closed completely
- 51:37Speaker 2: and therefore Sunday was Mother's Day. So we're coming off
- 51:39Speaker 2: this weekend and now people are in contact with him
- 51:42Speaker 2: and it's it's actually a really good deal. So thanks
- 51:44Speaker 2: for asking. I really appreciate that, very kind of you. Yeah,
- 51:47Speaker 2: all right, four to seven memories one text us at
- 51:51Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. So the French girl wanted
- 51:53Speaker 2: to tell you guys about Yeah, why so she's a
- 51:58Speaker 2: teenage she's a teenage Oh, come on, man, she woke
- 52:03Speaker 2: up from a three week coma, right, right, and that's funny.
- 52:09Speaker 2: And while she was in the coma, she had dreams,
- 52:13Speaker 2: and they actually say it went farther than dreams. She
- 52:16Speaker 2: lived out an entire scenario of life while in this coma,
- 52:22Speaker 2: which was so real to her. When she woke up,
- 52:26Speaker 2: she told everybody in this other existence I was in
- 52:30Speaker 2: while I was gone, I was a mother with three
- 52:33Speaker 2: kids and I had raised them for seven years. Now,
- 52:36Speaker 2: she had been out for three weeks, but in that
- 52:39Speaker 2: three week period of time, her brain led her to
- 52:41Speaker 2: believe that she was a mom of three and that
- 52:44Speaker 2: she had spent the last seven years raising them. It
- 52:47Speaker 2: was so real to her that when she came out
- 52:50Speaker 2: of it and they explained that she was in a
- 52:51Speaker 2: coma and that wasn't actually real. That did not happen,
- 52:55Speaker 2: she had to go to grief therapy because the memory
- 52:59Speaker 2: of the children that she raised and those memories that
- 53:02Speaker 2: she had while in the coma were so strong that
- 53:04Speaker 2: she had to go through therapy to let them understand.
- 53:08Speaker 2: You did not raise shoulder, and you aren't abandoning anybody.
- 53:11Speaker 2: You didn't forget a family. This never happened. Oh that's
- 53:15Speaker 2: how it did. That's how real it was. I bet
- 53:17Speaker 2: it did happen. But by the way, what you're about
- 53:20Speaker 2: to say funning around is exactly what everybody else is saying.
- 53:23Speaker 2: They're like, like, this is not an alternate kind of reality.
- 53:26Speaker 2: This was a Star Trek the Next Generation episode, and
- 53:30Speaker 2: this Captain Biccart. He froze for a second, and it
- 53:34Speaker 2: was this alien that this dying species. They grabbed his consciousness.
- 53:38Speaker 2: He spent a lifetime with them, and then when he died,
- 53:42Speaker 2: he went back into his body. He was only gone
- 53:45Speaker 2: for like a blink of an eye or a very
- 53:47Speaker 2: short period of time, but he They did that as
- 53:50Speaker 2: a way to record their civilization in their life, so
- 53:54Speaker 2: someone could carry on them their memory. And so it's
- 53:59Speaker 2: like he had a full ex serious but came back.
- 54:01Speaker 2: I believe people can travel this way. This is how
- 54:04Speaker 2: you time travel. I think that, dude. I gotta tell you,
- 54:07Speaker 2: I think I think you're right there. I think this
- 54:09Speaker 2: is where people get like time traveling a thing is
- 54:11Speaker 2: because of situation like this. I'll tell you, I don't
- 54:13Speaker 2: know about you, guys. We gotta take a break here.
- 54:14Speaker 2: In a second, I'll tell you my story. Right, So,
- 54:16Speaker 2: I remember this was probably about three or four years ago.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I was trying to remember a second ago during the
- 54:20Speaker 2: break because where I was at the time, it was
- 54:22Speaker 2: still in Geneva, so that means I would have been,
- 54:24Speaker 2: you know, because we've lived in this house now for
- 54:26Speaker 2: two years, so it's like three or four years ago.
- 54:29Speaker 2: I had a dream that I that I hit somebody
- 54:32Speaker 2: at night on a bicycle while I was driving. Oh,
- 54:35Speaker 2: and I didn't stop. Got tracks, all right, I did
- 54:38Speaker 2: not stop. I moved on. Blah blah, blah blah. The
- 54:41Speaker 2: dream got so defined that I remember the door knocking
- 54:46Speaker 2: and the cops being at my front door. I remember
- 54:49Speaker 2: having a in a detailed conversation. By the way, this
- 54:52Speaker 2: is no joke. I remember in bed. I woke up
- 54:55Speaker 2: and I was soaking wet from the sheets, from the
- 54:58Speaker 2: nerves from trying to cover my story with the cops,
- 55:01Speaker 2: and when I woke up right before I remember, right
- 55:04Speaker 2: before I woke up, I wondered how I would fare
- 55:06Speaker 2: in jail, because I thought I was going to jail.
- 55:09Speaker 2: And it took me a good five minutes even after
- 55:12Speaker 2: waking up, to convince myself that it didn't happen and
- 55:15Speaker 2: everything was fine and I wasn't going to jail. It
- 55:18Speaker 2: was that real. Wow. I remember the impact of the car.
- 55:21Speaker 2: I remember thinking, I remember the guy going off in
- 55:24Speaker 2: the ditch. I remember thinking, I think I was drunk, right,
- 55:29Speaker 2: And I mean, I'm telling you the whole thing. It
- 55:31Speaker 2: was crazy. It was so it was so real that
- 55:34Speaker 2: I swear I woke up in a panic that I
- 55:37Speaker 2: was going to go to jail, that eventually they were
- 55:39Speaker 2: gonna knock on my door and I was gonna get
- 55:41Speaker 2: cuffed and I was gonna spending time in jail for
- 55:43Speaker 2: hit and run murder.
- 55:44Speaker 11: WHOA.
- 55:45Speaker 2: And I've had that happen twice to me in my life,
- 55:48Speaker 2: just two times, thoughing and you guys know about the
- 55:49Speaker 2: other one. I had a dream so real that I
- 55:51Speaker 2: drove off the edge of a cliff, which is a
- 55:53Speaker 2: giant fear of mine, that I heard the air in
- 55:56Speaker 2: the windows like coming through, and I heard the nothingness
- 55:59Speaker 2: and we just.
- 56:01Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 56:02Speaker 2: And it was so real. I remember waking up in
- 56:04Speaker 2: a cold sweat, thinking and I was gonna be dead.
- 56:07Speaker 2: So crazy, nothing like that for you. Dreams can be terrifying.
- 56:11Speaker 2: It is terrifying. It's horrifying, guys. I think that those
- 56:15Speaker 2: things really happened. No, No, they didn't really happen, I think.
- 56:18Speaker 3: So.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Have you, guys, ever been able to wake up from
- 56:21Speaker 2: a dream and the dream was so fun you tried
- 56:23Speaker 2: to go back to sleep and have the dream again. Yeah,
- 56:25Speaker 2: I've actually done it once. I did it one time,
- 56:27Speaker 2: and I don't think I really woke up, is what
- 56:29Speaker 2: the deal was. And I was on a cruise ship,
- 56:30Speaker 2: oddly enough, and the cruise ship was haunted, and I
- 56:33Speaker 2: remember walking through the aisles of this cruise ship looking
- 56:36Speaker 2: for somebody, and I woke up and I was like, damn,
- 56:39Speaker 2: I didn't find them, and I tried to go back
- 56:40Speaker 2: to sleep, and just for a second I remembered appearing
- 56:43Speaker 2: back in the in the main atrium of the cruise ship,
- 56:45Speaker 2: and then it was all gone. But then those sex ones.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Oh all right four O seven nine one six four
- 56:54Speaker 2: one text us at seven seven zero three one. Don't
- 56:57Speaker 2: forget guys. Your four o'clock keyword is fun. F you

- 57:11Speaker 7: It was great that you found him. That's great news.
- 57:14Speaker 7: My brother has a degenerate brain diseases and a care
- 57:17Speaker 7: facility that charges normally, they charged ten k a month
- 57:21Speaker 7: and they're a really great facility. It's almost one on
- 57:24Speaker 7: one care, which is awesome. But because he's so young
- 57:28Speaker 7: and his financial situation as such, that they knocked it
- 57:32Speaker 7: down the seventy five hundred a month for his care.
- 57:36Speaker 16: Hi, Jim, if your cousin was deemed award of the
- 57:39Speaker 16: state and he is mentally challenged, Medicaid will pay for
- 57:44Speaker 16: him to be in a full service rehabilitation center or place.
- 57:50Speaker 16: And it sounds like that may be what happened.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Hey, thank you very much for that. I appreciate that you. Ever,

- 58:25Speaker 2: don't know if you've read any of them on the
- 58:27Speaker 2: texting service, but they're pretty nuts. One guy said he
- 58:29Speaker 2: had the exact same dream of driving off the cliff
- 58:32Speaker 2: and then hearing the air as you feel weightless. Yeah,
- 58:35Speaker 2: that's crazy. A lot of people like are texting in.
- 58:39Speaker 2: And by the way, I want to remind everybody when
- 58:40Speaker 2: you text the show, we will text people back like
- 58:43Speaker 2: we do it all the time, and if you don't
- 58:44Speaker 2: get a text back, it doesn't mean we haven't seen
- 58:46Speaker 2: your text. We read literally every one of them that
- 58:49Speaker 2: comes into the station, but we can only respond to
- 58:51Speaker 2: so many. So thank you someone reads it. I mean
- 58:56Speaker 2: I read every one of them. I read every one
- 58:58Speaker 2: of them. I go on break and I scroll down
- 58:59Speaker 2: I read one I missed, because I mean, the thing
- 59:02Speaker 2: is you got to use it what you get, right, Yeah,
- 59:04Speaker 2: that's what you guys do on break. Yeah yeah, oh no,
- 59:07Speaker 2: some of that are sometimes I watch Instagram either way,
- 59:13Speaker 2: So what was ione to talk about here real quick.
- 59:18Speaker 2: A month have you isolated what you're wearing on the
- 59:21Speaker 2: yacht cruise yet?
- 59:22Speaker 16: Not even.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you doing? She's got more than a month.
- 59:30Speaker 3: Yeah, the not a not gonna worry about it, Jim. Actually,
- 59:35Speaker 3: it's kind of very fringe festival of you to see
- 59:37Speaker 3: you putting this much effort into your costume that night.
- 59:40Speaker 3: This is a really cool event. This is never harden
- 59:43Speaker 3: I have There is no doubt this is a very
- 59:45Speaker 3: cool event. But I am not putting nearly the energy
- 59:49Speaker 3: into my fashion that you are.
- 59:51Speaker 2: I'm a little concerned you should. I had a little
- 59:53Speaker 2: concern I think got you mom the other day and
- 59:54Speaker 2: says I cannot wait to see you guys on the
- 59:57Speaker 2: yacht cruise. I literally cannot wait to see you. So
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: are you gonna give him something to come up for?
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: No?
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: No, no, no, see, oh you do not what we're wearing. Yeah,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: you know, But I mean the whole idea is it's
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: a themed cruise. You need to step out. You got
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: excited about it, and now you're putting pressure on us. No,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I'm done. I just asked you a question, That's all
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: I did. I just I just asked you a question.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Just simply said, what are you wearing? And then we're
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: clothes and we're kind of clothes. And then you just
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: stared at him silently, and mind you, this is radio.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Look you're doing that. Look big. We're on vida video
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: to Jack, and I need this five hundred people to
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: also feel the vibe. Give us the thumbs up if
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: you like his vibe. Are you feeling the vibe? People?
- 1:00:40Speaker 11: Have you?
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Have you chased your idea down?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Jack?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Or do you? Also? Don't care? No?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: I care, not care. He's I mean, he is so lucky.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: He has an automatic answer. He's a couple of options. Actually,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I have a theme. I have an idea. I shared
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: it with my wife.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: She is aware of it, and she said, I think
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: you need to come with me when I go thrifty Okay?
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: And I said, you got it. We'll do it as
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: soon as I get back from my trip. Got it? Okay?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Good you. I'm worried about you know why I'm worried
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: about it because I know your husband at on your
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: head and your husband isn't what they call a frivolous dude. No,
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: he's not. Your husband is Oh? Is that the same
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: thing you've worned since you were nineteen, I think so
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: sensible Polo tucked into sensible jeans with sensible shoes and
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: a Beldies had since he was fourteen.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Zeppratty clothes, Oh except for the bell. Yeah, not a
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: big dress up kind of person.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Well, you need to find something that he can dress
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: up and not seem dressed up like. That's the whole
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: key is, like.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Find something the seventies and eighties. That's gonna be a
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: hard stretch. Do you guys remember the fashion of the
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: seventies and eighties.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: He's an eighties kid, he lived it. Matter of fact,
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: he probably still has those clothes. It's some jelly shoes
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: or no questions, jelly shoes in a Wham half shirt.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Some pink shirts were there. If my dude walked in
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: in a Wham half shirt, I don't care what the
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: prize is, I'm sticking it in his pants. I mean
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: that sounded odd. He' he wins everything. If Chris. If
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Chris Carson shows up in a Wham half shirt with
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: wispy shorts and some jelly bracelets.
- 1:02:22Speaker 12: Oh my god, look, can I tell you we in
- 1:02:25Speaker 12: the cruise right there? Yeah, we would everybody, everybody off
- 1:02:28Speaker 12: the boat. We're gonna go home and have a very
- 1:02:30Speaker 12: serious discussion.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Contested any more. Gonna be good. I know that we're
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: recording a live Captain Zug Radio that day. It's gonna
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: be great. It'll be the first live audience ever, right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: I just have to technically figure out how to do.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: It's gonna have some cigars, gonna have some prize is,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: gonna have some stand up, gonna have some trivia, gonna
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: have some great food. Jack and I are actually next
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: weekend or yeah, next weekend, this weekend and next weekend
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: are going on them. I forgot you are as well. Well,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I don't know you mean, you know you don't feel
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: like she's married. I love this. Yeah, So we're gonna
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: go and find out what the cruise is like' and
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: to test the food. We're gonna see the drinks. We're
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: gonna we're gonna feel the vibe of the joint, and
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: then we're gonna tear it up. It's gonna be a
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: good time. I think people are gonna really enjoy this.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah. I think this is gonna start
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: like a thing where we do this a couple times
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: a year. New tradition huh, I think so do because
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: it's look, it's really unique. I mean, who doesn't like
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: going down to Saint John's. It's kind of awesome. And
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: a lot of people that listen to the show have
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: never been on the river before. I mean, you've never
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: been down. I mean, if you've not been on the
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: river before, it's a blast, dude.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: It is well not only that this crew sold out
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: so fast, yeah, that we have a lot of listeners
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: who didn't even know what we planned.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: To get before. They're like, wait, and it's already sold out.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: There's lis Is right now, Say what the hell are
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: they talking about? We sold it in six hours. Yeah,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: it's our yachte cruise.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: So we're probably gonna have to do at least a
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: few to be able to accommodate all the people who
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: couldn't get on this cruise.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but do we do the yachtlee cruise every single
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: time or do we switch it up? We can switch
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: up the themes, y yeah, sure, but this one just
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: seemed it just kind of fell so perfect. It all
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: came together. Do you think a buffet thing would work
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: like a buffet theme because it's already kind of built in.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: I mean, it's not an ocean by any means. Well,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: we had the yachtlee cruise that would be Jack's theme.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: We could do a comedy cruise that could be Ross's theme.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: We could have a food cruise, a primetime kitchen cruise
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: that could be a Jimmy. We have no idea getting
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: all of those elements in this first cruise. And this
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: cruise we're doing. Ross will be doing stand up, We'll
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: have the music. There will be trivia Jim Colbert Show trivia. Yah.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: I mean, well we're doing the trivia. It's not trivia
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: about the show. No, No, yeah, right right right, No,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: like what we're doing then, actually it could be picked
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: the porn Oh oh, oh my god. I totally forgot. Man.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: I haven't tapped into the porn industry of the seventies
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: and eighties yet for ideas. Get the hell out of here, dude,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Peter North, here I come. He was more of an
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: eighties yeah, eighties right, yeah, yeah, yeah, you could be
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Ron Jeremy, Ron Jeremy. There you go, Jack Ron Jeremy,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Jack cheaper On Jeremy. That'd be fun. Yeah, yeah, you
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: want to be the Hedgehog. I met that guy one time.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. You talking about a seething
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Oh my god, he was angry. No, I was going
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: to say another word there he was. He dirty.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: He always looked like he would smell. Yeah, yeah, that
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: was smelly. Yeah.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Man. He wasn't like a real savory dude. He and
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, really weird. And again he got busted.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Is he dead? He died in prison, didn't he?
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: No?
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Ways. I think he went to jail for sexual assault.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Oddly enough, in the porn industry, he went to jail
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: for sexual assault. I believe because he couldn't keep his
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: hands off people even when they weren't working. I think
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: everybody believes, because you're in the adult film industry that
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: you're automatically going to bang it out whenever you feel
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: like it. It isn't really like that, from what I understand.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: And he thought, because he was this big porn star
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: from the seventies and eighties that he just had like
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: the full run of whenever they brought a girl around
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: or whatever, he could just do whatever he wanted because
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: he was that guy. Apparently he's still alive. Still alive?
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Is he He's only five foot six, Yeah, he's tiny.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: That's what they call. You know what his nickname is, right,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: I know, he just said the hedgehog. The hedgehog, Yeah,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: the hedge because his back is all hairy and he
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: has that, he has that crazy perm thing. I never
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: understood how he made it in the business. He's not
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: even remotely good looking. No, I mean, he's got one
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: thing that works. I mean, is that all you need
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: in that business at the time. At the time, yes, well,
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: I mean I think now you have to have something
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: that obviously shows up on film. I mean, he had
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: that for sure. But he was not a good looking
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: dude at all. And when we met him, I don't
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: remember this part of him, but I heard after the
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: fact when he's sort of kind of letting himself go
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: a little bit, that he did not bathe and he
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: did smell awful eyew. I just remember him and the
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: other thing too about about him, if I remember, right,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: God man, i'd have to ask for us about this.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: I remember, he's actually pretty smart, Like he was a
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: lot more intelligent than you thought he would be to
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: be in that industry. Not that that's really an indicator
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: of intellect by any means. You can still be a
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: porn starmy, smart. But I mean, it's just it doesn't
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: strike you as an industry that people with intellect go into.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: I think collectively the porn industry is saying thank you, Jimmy.
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: Yeah yeah.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Speaking a life on the naughty side. Someone suggested a
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: great theme for a deb cruise and it could be
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: the Dominatrix. Oh my whip. I finally get to use
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: my gimp outfit.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Only if you wear it with the thigh high boots. Oh,
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: thigh high, thigh high. I got some shorties, I got
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: some brogans, or you'll get a spanking. Got a diaper
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: I like to wear, okay o mess and it's cloth too, so.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: We'll put you in the rubber pants. It's just like
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: you probably spent my early childhood. I'm an amish dominatrix.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I don't use plastic, all right, four seven nine four
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: one tech seven to seven zero three one back in
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: a second. We're gona talk about Tiger Woods when we
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: get back. And you have a fresh keyword right.
- 1:08:05Speaker 11: Now, Jimmy, you've got a great ear man. So a
- 1:08:11Speaker 11: majority of the Love Album by the Cult was recorded
- 1:08:14Speaker 11: at the same studio, and the mixing was done all
- 1:08:16Speaker 11: at that same studio, except for the drums on She
- 1:08:21Speaker 11: Sells Sanctuary. Those were recorded at a second studio and
- 1:08:26Speaker 11: the final mixing was done at then a third studio.
- 1:08:29Speaker 11: So that explains why that signature song has such a
- 1:08:32Speaker 11: dramatically different and i'll say, more punchy and pressed down
- 1:08:35Speaker 11: versus the rest of the album. However, cover to cover,
- 1:08:37Speaker 11: it's a killer anyway, Good job, dude, thank you for that.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: I appreciate that she sells Sanctuary only when you're with
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: your wife.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that dude, Mexico. That tough one.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: Hey, Colobler Crewe. So like every other's Central Fluoridian. I'm
- 1:08:52Speaker 8: trying to win that thousand dollars. And my phone's been
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: ringing a lot lately with roofers. They want to give
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: me a new roof and I have a new so
- 1:09:01Speaker 8: back off. But the thing that's really annoying about them
- 1:09:04Speaker 8: these calls fake Hello Laura, like they know me or something.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Hey, I right, hello Laura. You're five o'clock. He arn
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: his bills, b I l ls go to real radio
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: do FM and send that away for your chance at
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: one thousand bucks. Bills. Guys, that is your five o'clock.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: You were good luck get it. We hope you win.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Hope you win, young lady. I'm Jim. There's dem Hello.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Jack is here as well.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: So, I don't know if you guys saw anything about
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: this Tiger Woods case. I guess they are supposed to
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: be in court today. Did you guys hear what he's
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: arguing today? It's just about the traffic accident. Yeah, definitely
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: about that. I mean about the accident and he having
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: the rollover in the whole nine yards. But there's something else.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: And I have a theory I wanted to ask you
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: guys about. Even in the even in twenty twenty six,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: I think this comes into play. I told my wife
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: about that this morning. She did not agree with me.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: She does not think that this is the case. But
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: I'm kind of interested to see what you guys think.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: So Floria. Judge today actually granted prosecutors access to tiger
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Wood's prescription records in this dui case. If you'll remember,
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: his attorney was arguing that they do not want that
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: information out there. Sure they do not want and they
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: were trying to do the hip of thing. I guess
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: they do not want the record of what he takes
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: on a daily basis. Out there in court. Of course,
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: when he hits discovery, we're all going to know what
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: this dude was taking every day, right, And I think
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: we already know he said even in the context right
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: after the accident, when being interviewed by the officers. I
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: believe they picked up on the fact that he's viking
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: in and some other things as well. I think Vicodin
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: was the painkiller that he had. That's all the one
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: he claimed. I believe that he had he had some
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: other stuff in there as well, but he really didn't
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: want that out there. So I have a question to ask,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: all right, and I have something I want to tell
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: you as well. I gotta be careful how I say this,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: because I want to make sure I don't get myself
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: in trouble. Right, So, Tiger Woods has some serious health issues.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: We know from the crash previous that turned over to
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: he almost lost his leg. Right on top of that,
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: we knew that he had dealt with back issues. He
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: had already had another a leg issue before. There's images
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: of him walking and playing a golf tournament. After every swing,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: he kind of bends over as if he's in writhing
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: in pain. Right, he never really showed it so much
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: because his game was always still so good that you
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: could just goa always sore, he's hurt a little bit,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: or in betweeked his ankle, or whatever the case may be.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: But obviously down the road we find out that maybe
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: it's way more than that. Right, this guy's dealing with
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: some severe pain. Hank Haney was a former coach of
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: his and he wrote a book, a tell all book,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: which is why he's not really in the golf business anymore,
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: and said that really Tiger Woods's body issues aren't from
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: golf or anything like that. It's from training with Navy
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: seals and his dad was an Army ranger. I believe
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: he still had relationships to military outlets and had the
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: ability to do jumps out of helicopters, like live jumps,
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: and apparently Hank Caney said he did hundreds of them,
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: and the impact of landing from a parachute jump and
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I always thought that was relatively soft. But I don't know.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: I guess if you have a bunch of them, it
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: can take its toll.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Oh, now, it can go either way on that one. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I think so. Right. So you wonder why would Tiger
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: Woods not want the medication. Everybody knows he deals with pain.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Everybody kind of expects him to have some type of
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: painkiller in a system, and he said it himself. I
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: think it was like I said, I think it was
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: vicotin and he also said or vicodin. I should say,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: I think he also said he had some other drugs.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: The story I have heard doesn't mention them because it
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: talks about the attorney thing. Here's my theory, and I'll say, allegedly,
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I heard years ago, when he was still very young
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: and just getting into the golf world in the late
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: nineties and early two thousands, when he was doing his thing,
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: that Tiger smoked weed, that he smoked marijuana. He used marijuana,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: right And the reason why that came out was there
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: was a photograph of him on a fishing trip smoking
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: out of a handmade pipe type thing. And I'd also
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: heard through the grape vine with other people in Orlando
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: that they're allegedly that he he didn't mind doing that.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Right Now, let me ask you real quick, when it
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: comes to legacy, do you think that marijuana in your
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: system is more damaging to a guy like Tiger Woods
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: than prescription meds? And that maybe he doesn't want people
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: to know that he smokes weed or uses THC. Do
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: you think it's more damaging to a guy's And think
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: about what I'm saying here, all right, everybody knows he
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: takes medications to maintain the pain in his body. That's expected.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: You get a pass there. Even if you abuse that
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: a little bit and got used to it. Everybody understands
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: that happen. We've heard story after story after story of
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: good people who had a bad accident started taking painkillers.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: It became a habit, then they became addicted in life spiraled. Right, Yes,
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: we've heard of that. But you do hold them responsible.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: But would you agree that we hold them responsible in
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: a different kind of way than if that was like
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: meth or coke or heroin?
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: It's different, yes, different, right? Yeah, because those drugs, the
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: prescription drugs, don't have the illicit kind of aura that
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: those other drugs have. And I think there's a possibility
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: that this guy didn't want that release because he didn't
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: want people to know that he that he smoked pod
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: or if he does. And do you think that if
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: people hear about that, that they will look at him differently?
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: Because marijuana is a recreational drug that you that most
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: people use to kind of relieve stress, like you would
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: have a couple of drinks. I think that holds true
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: twenty five years ago. You don't think it is Deavy,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: not as much. And I think it's actually only so
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: far down on the things that have tarnished his legacy.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I think the pills are a bigger issue. You think so.
- 1:15:09Speaker 13: I do not.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: I'm telling you I do not, even in twenty twenty six.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: I do believe if you hear that somebody uses that,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: that there is a different vibe around that than there
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: are drugs that are prescribed from a doctor, and especially
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: if you're an athlete. And even though he's never accepted
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: the role as role model, lean not famously like Charles
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: Barklay who said, I'm not a role model, do not
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: follow me, do not pay attention to me. I am
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: an athlete, and that's it. You know, you shouldn't be
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: you shouldn't be following my lead on anything. That He's
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: never really made that statement. He's kind, He's had this,
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: he's had this program for years to help kids and
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: to do all this other stuff. And I believe that
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: even if you explain this to a grade school child.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: They would understand, yeah, he has to take pills because
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: his back hurts. But if they found out he got high,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: if he found out he smoked weed or used marijuana anyway,
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: perform gummy smoking, whatever the case may be, I think
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: that's a bigger scar on him than using prescription meds.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: I think that most people will still look at that
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: as a burnout drug a little bit. I still believe
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: it has that or a little bit. But in Florida
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: it can be prescription medicine. It can be right, Okay,
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: But I still but he's got no card. There's no way.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: There's no way that dude's putting a card in his name, right,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: There's no way that's happening. Right, So that's my point.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: You guys buy that all you think. You still think
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: the prescription drugs are a much bigger deal because the
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: prescription drugs are what led to the crash. I understand that.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: So again, you know, if they had come up on
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: his vehicle and they smelled weed or something like that,
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: I mean, it would have made the rounds. It would
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: have maybe been a story for a day. But them
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: finding a controlled substance in his pocket, not in a
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: prescription bottle. You know the way he looked when you
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: saw him sweating profusely like that, and there was no
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: thought of, well, I bet this is cannabis. You're like, damn, dude,
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: you need I mean, you need the help of someone
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: who's yeah, ye, not drunk, but you're you're drugged enough
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: that you hit somebody.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I think prescription drugs would have a negative, more more
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: negative effect on his ability to play the game than
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: we would. Interesting by the way, you would have to
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: smell like it. You could eat a gummy and not
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: smell like it. You could hit a vight pen and
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: not smell like it. I don't think you have to
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: smell like it at the crash scene. I don't think
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: it has to be like one of those tales where
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: you get out it's a chechen chong movie. I think
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: that if it's in your system. I still believe that
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: he thinks, or maybe his team believes that in the
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: eyes of youth, that they could understand a pill issue
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: before they could understand him using marijuana, because he's always
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: had this. Even though he's had some drama in his life,
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: he's always still had that clean kind of cut shirt
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: tucked in always professional, always looks good working out, even
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: through all of his troubles, except with the exception of
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: his bootshots, which are horrible. Yeah, so you're talking about
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: not what's truly more dangerous to him, No, just more
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: what people thing, the image of it, the image of it. Yeah,
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: you want to lie to kids or you want to
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: deceive them and say, oh, he takes prescription medicine for
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: his ailment and that's it is better than told him
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: to take. He's following orders.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: But again, you know this generation of kids, they're They're
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: not the marijuana smokers. Those are Those are the boomers,
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: the gen xers. Uh, this is the scissor generation. This
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: is the you know, like Kodak Black getting busted and
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: they find you know, purple cough syrup.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: They're not.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: But I'm the whole reefer madness thing doesn't weigh on
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: this generation the way that it did on us. If
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: you knew pot smokers, you didn't admit that you knew
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: pot smokers when you were growing up. Now, I think
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: the I think that because we've come through the pill
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: mill situation. Florida was at the epicenter of the pill
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: mill situation, and I think it it looks bad on
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: him to have an un you know, a control substance
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: in his pocket. If he had a problem and he's
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: taking drugs as prescribed by his doctor, just keep it
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: in the damn bottle, man. Yeah, yeah, then you don't
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: have to explain anything. Here's the bottle, here's the prescription.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Understood. My argument with that would be, like, you know,
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: he doesn't really cater to the rap crowd. You know,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: he doesn't care. He caters to country club white kids.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is that the kids these days
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: don't look at pot that way. They're they're doing the
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: synthetic drugs. They're not right, They're not ripping a joint
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: that I mean these if you listen to the music,
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: the hip hop, it's all about it.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: It's opioids. So okay.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, So I don't see this generation of kids being, oh, yeah,
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: you know, always problems weed.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: His problem is weed. And again I don't I don't
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: think it'll be looked at like that. My whole point
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: was in and I think you said it best, like
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: I don't think the hip hop crowd is embracing Tiger Woods.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: I don't think that's the case, But I do believe
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: that young, impressionable country club kids. We know that for
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: a fact. Rory McElroy, who just you know, just completed
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: the Grand Slam, idolized Tiger Woods. He's like already completely
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: idolized him. You have when Tiger's fifty one or two
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: or something, isn't he So he idolized him as a
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: kid coming up. And I wonder if it's the country
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: club crew and their moms and dads are taking these
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: kids to golf camps and Tiger's always been their kind
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: of guy, if they consider that different, if they look
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: at him and go, oh, you know, he's a marijuana user.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that this is all a legend.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: Of course, I'm not saying he is. I just wondered
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: out loud why he was protecting that that prescription so much. Now, again,
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: it's not a prescription, and they will know if it's
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: in his blood, because that'll come out, and that'll come
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: out as well, because obviously THC affects your reaction time.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: But he didn't have a blood draw, and he also
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: didn't have a r analysis, which you could also mean
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: that vike it in or that oxy code own or
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: whatever it was in his pocket. He does not have
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: a prescription for that particular drug.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point as well.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: So that's the issue again, you know, and a lot
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: of people are texting us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: And this is the most interesting because also Jimmy is
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: talking about the youth. This generation is probably saying Tiger
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: who Yeah, because again, you know, everything moves like the
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: speed of light. I mean, when was Tiger really last
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: known as Tiger without all of twenty years ago, twenty
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: years without all this ancillary stuff, the accidents, the cheating,
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: the rock who he's dating. I mean, his golf game
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: hasn't been his biggest story in a long time.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean he came back and won the
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: Masters after that, Yeah, that was kind of a big deal.
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: I won a dollar on that very much. Tiger's fifty
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: rory is thirty seven.
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: Wow.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: So yeah, so he did as a youth player grew
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: up idolizing Tiger Woods. I mean he did, I could figure. Yeah,
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: matter of fact, a lot of them did, justin Thomas,
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: Ricky Fowler, A lot of the big names on tour
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: and idolized this guy. And if they believe Tiger Smoke
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: Pott they might have never played. Yeah, I doubt about that.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Sorry text seven seven zero three one. Don't forget your
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: five o'clock keyword is bills. B I LS. Slide over
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: to real radio dot FM and send that away for
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: your chance at one thousand bucks back in one second
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: with more than Jim Golber Show.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Also the offering with Scott today at six twenty on
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: The Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: So I agree with deb on the whole pills versus
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: weed thing. You know you flip your car a couple
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: of times on pills. It shows that you have an
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: addiction and you're wholly irresponsible and gives a very kind
- 1:22:17Speaker 7: of bad connotation.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: Stupid text yet again.
- 1:22:21Speaker 7: But if you flip your car by smoking weed and
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: not paying attention, that that too is irresponsible. But you
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: lay low for a few years flipping around to no
- 1:22:30Speaker 7: business market. That stuff is tiger weed.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: Tiger weeds, wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right money.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: Since I said my eyes on you, I tell you
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: the true love.
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: It buddy, God love me some cult, Jim. I've listened
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: to a couple of albums since you started talking about it.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Awesome, BUTDY appreciate it.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: Good good.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Thank you buddy, that I can do somebody some good.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: I got my ass in it to me during the
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: break on the texting service. By the way, I'm not
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: a boomer, so blank off he's solid, Yes, he said,
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: o MG, blanking boomer. I'm like, I'm not a boomer. Dude, Buddy,
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: you secrete boomer vibe. I do not secrete boomer vibe.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Bill's is your fuck cluckyword?
- 1:23:21Speaker 11: B I L L s.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Slide over to real radio do FM and send it
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: off for a chance one thousand months. I'm Jim. There's
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: deb Jack's here as well. I think he's I think
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: people are mistaking. One person text in and said the
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: right thing and it was our buddy Larry, and this
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: and this is what and this is what I'm trying
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: I was trying to get across. If you found out
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: that Tom Brady smoked, we would you look at him differently? No,
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: you wouldn't. I think there's a big one. Actually, I
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: think I'd be a little more impressed. You would be.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: It would it would make you like him more. That's
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: what you're saying. If you found out Tom Brady got high,
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: you were saying that you would think he's cool. Well,
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: he doesn't eat strawberries. Come on, it's not that, it's
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: that he overcame that, because I think it is a
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: detriment to what he would be doing. I think weed
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: makes you complace and it slows you down, It sucks
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: your drive. And if you can overcome that and hill
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: out seven super Bowl Championship and for MVPs and knowing that,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: it's like he did it with that pull into parachute.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Yeah what I'm saying, Yeah, the best thing that I've
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: seen here. That kind of takes my argument down. And
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: by the way, I wasn't trying to convince anybody of anything.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: It was just a theory. Is Michael Michael Phelps. Michael
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Phelps obviously got busted smoking weed. It really wasn't a
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: big deal to his career, which was over, by the way,
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: when it happened. His career was done when that happened.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: I think his career was already over. Yeah, but I
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: think it was already over when that happened. I think
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: it was in the commercial phase at that point. Yeah. Okay,
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: here's Larry said it perfectly. It's oh god, dog it
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: now I'm talking. I can't remember it. Hold on it's
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: the purity personality issue, the purity personal issue, and what
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: that means is is the person themselves considers themselves kind
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: of above it all and when something takes the purity
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: away from it. What I was trying to say is
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: is I think weed takes more of the purity principle
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: away than prescription pills. That's what I was really trying
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: to say, that he has a purity issue where he
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: wants everybody to believe he's a certain guy, and with
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: prescription pills that doesn't hurt it because everybody gets prescriptions
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: and weed is not a prescription thing. I don't think
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: for him. I understand it could be right, but I
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: don't believe that he's got a card that's as Tiger
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: Woods you're cool to go to a truly even hit
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: it up now, Eldrick. But that would be my thing.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: I would think that the purity principle of it would
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: kind of be different for pills than marijuana. And you
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: just don't know why it.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: Because he doesn't have a purity principle anymore. Who Tiger
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: thinks the world perceives him to be. Well, this's my point, no, no, no,
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: And my point is that it's the same reading of
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: the room as the commencement speaker this past Friday for UC. Right,
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: you're going in with this one idea of who you're
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: talking to and you find out, oh, completely off base here.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: I don't think Tiger has a purity principle anymore, and
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: I don't I think actually if he was caught with weed,
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: it'd have been far better for him, because this pill
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: thing's been floating over him for a long time. Ever
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: since the wreck in California, it's been this thing that's
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: hovered in the air above him, and then this latest accident.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: And someone also texted something that I believe that he's
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: more worried about pills showing up on that readout from
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: his blood or as urine that he doesn't have a script.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Because that's a felony. Is well again, it should be.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: If any one of us were rolling in our cars
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: and they pulled out a prescription pill from our pockets
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: and there was no bottle.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: There, you're going to jail. I think that's a felony.
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: It is, and depending on the number of pills, you
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: could also be held for trafficking if you don't have
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: that prescription pill bottle and if he didn't have a problem,
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: why didn't he have the pill bottle in his pocket?
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: There's no reason. I think that theory is actually the
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: one that holds more water than anything. My whole thing was,
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: like I still think. And by the way, the purity
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: principle isn't an outside in thing, it's an inside out thing,
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: which I think he still thinks he has the purity.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: I don't think he thinks that he's affected by this.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: I think he thinks that this just glances off him.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: And because he's won so many golf tournaments and the
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Tiger Woods, that everybody will still consider him that guy.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: And I still think that that's I mean, people with
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: those horrible mug shots. Dude has got a collection of
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: some of the dirtiest mug shots of all time, because
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: that's because the people around him are all giving him
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: that adulation and love, even the fans. It's like you,
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: you can talk. I mean, if he was in here
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: right now, you'd be pretty gaga. Right. No, I mean
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: I maybe a couple of years ago. I don't really
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: look at it like that, buddy. I promise, I don't.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: I promise, I do not. I don't. I gotta tell you.
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: I don't. I'm telling you, sir, there are a couple
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: of golfers that we are in here. I would I
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: would kind of gog out a little. But he's not
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: one of them. So the I think that sounds so crazy,
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: even I promise you it's true. So but also with
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: the prescription bill bottle, that's a pain sometimes. You know,
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I just went on the cruise. You take a bunch
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: of medicines, and you like, for someone like my mom
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: that you know, at the end of her life, I
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: mean there were like eight pills a day, you know,
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: we had that like the daily yeah thing, and you
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: put them all in there. But if the more you
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: take to have a bottle for each one, and sometimes
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: you go on a short trip or you're just going out.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: You just want to take the pill you need, which
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: is not the whole by which is fine if they're
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: for blood pressure or if they're for cholesterol.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: But I would not do that, not even if you just.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: Once, not even if you just had dental surgery and
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: you just don't want to big the pill bottle with
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: you to work. You just want to put that one
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: pill in your pocket that you're going to take for
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: your next dose at lunch. I wouldn't risk it. I
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: just would not risk it. If as long as it's
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: not a controlled substance, take them out and put them
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: in those individual pill things where there won't be the
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: same kind of question anything controlled. I wouldn't take that
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: kind of a chance because they don't roll anymore. They
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: do not roll, especially in this state. You know, I
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: mean you have to give over your driver's license just
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: to be able to get you know, SSEUDA fed.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: Man check it out. Possessing prescription Possessing prescription pills outside
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: of their original pharmacy container is generally illegal in Florida
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: and can lead to serious criminal charges, treated typically as
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: a third degree felony, even if the medication is legitimately
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: prescribed to you. Carrying it without proper labeling can result
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: in arrest with penalties up to five years in prison
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: and five thousand dollars in fines.
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: And it's a felony for each pill is what people
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: are texting us in. So one pill is a controlled
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: substance felony.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it says. Third degree felony is the most common
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: possession of a controlled subset such as xanax, oxy or
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: adderall without a valid prescription bottle is a third degree felony. Yeah,
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: I think you're on. I think you're one hundred percent right.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: And by the way, my mine was not saying whether
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: it was right or wrong.
- 1:30:02Speaker 8: I was.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: That wasn't the point I was trying to make. And
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: I could be way off and it was just an opinion.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: But my whole point was is I thought there's a
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: certain part of the generation that would look at that
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: differently than prescription pills because it's still considered illicit. You
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: gotta remember, it just got changed. It just got reclassified
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: from the federal government what three weeks ago. But your example,
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: you were talking about the kids are country club kids
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: or kids that would look up to Idle to Tiger.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: I think maybe more so it would be the older
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: people who still have a marijuana stigma, which I do not.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: By the way, right, I don't want people to think
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: because I got called a boomer that drove me crazy,
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Like I am not that guy. I don't have any
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: problem with smoking weed or people who smoke weed. Let's
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: just say I understand. I just thought of our next
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: shirt boomer vibes. Oh yeah, yeah, please make them so
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: I can burn them for a please do that. You
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: spend your own money if you don't mind. But I
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: think it's an older, older crowd might hold onto that
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: stigma of marijuana. I think younger generations they just accept
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: it as this is common. Now, come on, how many
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: blocks you have to drive before you run into a dispensary?
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: I mean they're everywhere, yeah, I mean yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: We've had a lot more people texting and saying they'd
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: rather know that their teen is smoking weed.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Than taking pills.
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: That's taking pills or even the other things like the
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: cough syrup thing. That's that's a really big issue. There's
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: a lot of kids alcohol, I mean drinking alcohol. But
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: in a lot of cases, like you think drinking the
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: cough syrup is safer because it doesn't have as much alcohol,
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: But you don't realize how much you're overloading your system
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: with the ceedam minifen codin.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: I mean that's why they're doing it, because of codeine.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: I mean that's yeah, that's what the scissor is. It's
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: just liquid coating.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but it also comes with a lot, a whole
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: lot of a ceda minifen that those kids don't realize
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: that they're doing so because this generation is into the
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: designer drugs, the you know, the chemical ones, and not
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: the natural ones necessarily. I don't I see Tiger's bigger
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: issue being I don't have a prescription for that pill
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: you found in my pocket.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: I think you're right there, and I think I just
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: made a terrible argument when I put it up front
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: of how it was because everybody framed it like I
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: was saying weed was worse than pills. I was not
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: even coming close to trying to say that. No, my
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: whole idea was exactly what Larry said was the purity
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: personality issue, where you think that you're so important that
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: even beyond getting divorced from your wife and banging Perkins
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: waitresses behind a dumpster and while she's giving birth, Yeah,
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: all that alt well, not giving all this other stuff
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: was worse. I still thought there was a certain part
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: of the community would stigmatize marijuana use above and beyond
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: all of that because of its illicit beginnings in the US.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: That's what I thought. I guess maybe I just didn't
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: explain it well enough, and I think you are right
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: on something like that.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: I think, like Jack said, that would be more our generation,
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: because if you remember talking about when you grew up
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: in high school, you avoided the burners because.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: You were an athe Yeah.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and the burners were the kids who you know
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: had the back of the school smoking pot You avoided
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: kids like that when we were growing.
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: Up, burnout and potheads. Exactly. They don't look at them
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: that way anymore. Now they borrow. Now they borrow their
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: lighter from a teacher. Exactly. The teacher's in the vap
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: pen and class. Come on, a teacher, if you don't mind,
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: can I hold your y? I gotta rip the bowl
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: before lunch. Oh no, don't give me. Indica, I got
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: some O G D seling here then to get rid of.
- 1:33:23Speaker 13: Is that?
- 1:33:24Speaker 17: You know?
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I got some yellow tail. I need to get rid of.
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: Some sunshine cannabis.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: I heard I got four grams of roll one. Let's
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: get it. I went up by the agg department, made
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: me there in five. Funny how the teacher smoked I
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: was at school was a big deal.
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: That door that lounge would open and you would see
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: your like it was like.
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: That men in black room while those aliens are making coffee.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: That's exactly what it's like. You open that door and
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: it's like a gateway to heaven, Like, what's going on?
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: Is that an alien making a cup of coffee? You
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: see mister Atkins in there, just absolutely hot box and
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: a marble light. Oh yeah, just ripping it. Half the
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: English teachers have Virginia slims so long they're knocking people's
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: glasses off. That was the greatest. That's when you knew
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: people were people like I used to look at teachers
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: I held there. I held my teachers in a very
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: high regardless with your parents, I'm telling you, dude, well
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: sometimes even more so, like I held teachers do a
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: really high regard. And I will never, ever, ever, ever
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: forget when I remember walking by that teacher's lounge and
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: I looked in there and there was a oh, I
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: don't want to say his name, but there's mister P
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: in there and he's just absolutely getting down on it
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: like he's a small engine mechanics, just ripping it. And
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: I was like, this guy has smoked a cigarette before,
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: mister P. How dare you? And you know you only
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: had what five minutes? Oh yeah, five minutes. He's in
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: there just eating it. All of them had their thermosis out.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: I'm sure they all had coffee yeah.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like China. There was this like this
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: weird cloud floating about a foot below the ceiling, toxic
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: yellowish gray smoke. Oh, those were the days. So much bitterness.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: That's that's back in the day where a teacher would
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: punch you for saying something wrong.
- 1:35:15Speaker 8: Oh.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: We had a teacher named mister Vance. And mister Vance
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: was like an old biker dude, but back then he
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: wasn't like old, and he was just a biker and
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: he wore cowboy boots every single day. He's probably six three, uh,
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: maybe like two hundred pounds, kind of snewy, you know, right.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: And I remember this dude squared up on a guy
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: who was in just eighth grade. He was big Stude
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: was like maybe six feet tall, maybe one hundred and
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: sixty pounds, and he squared up on him, and mister
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: Vance had his chalk down and he said, son, I
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: don't play by those rules. So he goes, I'll lose
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: his shop tomorrow. You're not doing that to me. And
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: I was like, oh, mister Vance is on the list.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: Let's leave mister Vance alone because this guy is about
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: to straight throat punch this eight and this fourteen year
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: old and does not care about losing his job about it,
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: not at all. Note to self, leave vance alone. There
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: you go, all right? Four seven nine six four one
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: text has seven seven zero three one bills. That is
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: your five o'clock. You were to go to real radio
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: dot if FIM and send that away for your chance
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: in a thousand bucks. Hout him up. Trivia's next.
- 1:36:19Speaker 17: Hey, guys, I don't know. I'm like chime in, but
- 1:36:20Speaker 17: that's kind of a wild take. You think that smoking
- 1:36:23Speaker 17: weed has a worst reputation? Oh my god, Yeah, I'm
- 1:36:26Speaker 17: like taking pills when there's been multiple celebrities raffers.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: How do you understand?
- 1:36:31Speaker 17: You know, multiple people that have all died on pills,
- 1:36:34Speaker 17: like Michael Jackson, and like, there's so many people, and
- 1:36:38Speaker 17: you think that smoking weed is about it no reputation.
- 1:36:41Speaker 17: What about Seth Rogan or any of those other people.
- 1:36:44Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: Everybody already knows him that have a good show. Guys, Hey,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: you buddy appreciate it. Well, he's saying reputation. Dog, I
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: don't understand how I cannot get that across. I don't
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: understand how people don' understand what I'm trying to say.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: I don't get it. But man, I'm getting chewed up
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: and spit out, and the people are saying the same thing,
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: like I'm comparing the two. I am not. That's not
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: what I'm saying. I said, the purity principle comes into
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: play this guy's it's kind of a weird, terrible reference
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: because it's David Cassidy. But this guy said, what was
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: the quote? He said, he grew up knowing David Cassidy.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: That he had worked with David Cassidy, and David Cassidy,
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: I knew David Cassidy, and he would rather people think
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: he had dementia than that he forgot the lyrics because
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: he was drunk. He just thought people thought of him
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: a certain way, and he wanted that to stay.
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: And that's kind of my point. I have no problem
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: with people who use marijuana or smoke marijuana. I don't
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: think it's uncool. I have no issue with it whatsoever,
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: none at all. I do not look at you differently
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: because hand the whole point was is there are people
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: that live with this principle, that believe that they are
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: above at all, and I believe that something like that
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: would to them make them look bad to people looking
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: in okay, boomer one more talkback. I don't think old
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: people care about weed at all. When I go to
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: the dispense three, they're all pretty much all guys. There
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: is the older crowd, yeah, and even a few working
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: there as well, but they always look embarrassed. Yes, so
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: I've heard four seven. I'll redirect four seven nine four
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: one texts seven seven zero three one. You do have
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: a few minutes for your keyword bills. That's b I
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: L l s. Slide over to real radio DOTFIM and
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: send that away for your chance at one thousand dollars.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: I'm Jim. There's deb hello Jack Zeer as well, and
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: he has the Jackie sack. What's in there? Buddy? All aboard?
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: Check it chuga click click clickity quick. All right, we
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: have a pair of tickets to see Jim Brewer at
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: the Plaza Live on May twenty third. You want tickets
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: to go see the comedian Jim Brewer, formerly of Saturday
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Night Live, you can go to Plazalive, Orlando dot org.
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: Or maybe music is more your thing. I've got tickets
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: to the Psychedelic Furs at the hard Rock Live, Orlando

- 1:39:08Speaker 2: as well. Those are the prizes in the Jackie Sack.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: So back to you thing, baby, I wonder if you
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: could apply that principle to your mom and dad and
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: so that can make people kind of understand it a
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: little bit more. If your mom and dad drank all
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: the time and you knew they were drunks, but then
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: you found out they spoke weed, would you look at
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: them differently now you'd remember to them to you trying
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: to maintain respect as a parent, Would it destroy your
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: idea of them if you found that out, if they
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: didn't want you to know. That's kind of my point, right,
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: Like what if it was coke? Does I don't know
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: that the drug matters. The point is is you're trying
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: to maintain a reputation to people that you really don't uphold.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: The whole idea is is you're trying to maintain respect
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: from people that you want to respect you, and you
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: think that particular action will take that respect from you.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: I think the parent analogy might Chris realize the idea
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: a little better, because you you'd rather them not think
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: you're doing something illegal. Yes, where you can always say Hey,
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: drinking's fine, even though you drink way more than you should, right,
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: I mean, and I would ask everybody out there that's
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: listening to this, like, you know, if you knew when
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: you were a kid that your mom or dad, if
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: you found out they spoke weed, how did you feel
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: at that moment? Did you think they were cooler because
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: of that? Or did you go oh, s, my mom
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: and dad get high. Not saying it's even a bad thing,
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: that's not even the point whether it's good or bad.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: I'm simply asking how would you feel when you found
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: that out at eight or nine years old, or twelve
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: or thirteen years old? It would change the way you
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: looked at your mom and dad? Right, that's kind of
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: the whole idea behind the process. That's exactly what my
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: thought process was. All right, trivia, all right, one, two, three,
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: four or five? Ah, let's go too, duo. It is rip?
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: How you doing? Rip? I'm doing good? Glad to hear that. Buddy,
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: want to play a little game with us.
- 1:40:50Speaker 14: Let's do it.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: Let's do it. Indeed, what you sell like a rip?
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: That's great way to high school with a guy named ripped? Really,
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: that's crazy. That was a Trooper. I love it, all right, Rip,
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: this is a real easy game. I got a question
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: here for you have four answers. One of these answers
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: is not true. But if you find it, Buddy, I'll
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: send you over to see Jack, and he's got some
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: nice stuff. You can pick out something nice for yourself.
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 1:41:11Speaker 11: Rip?
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: Here we go, buddy, On this day in nineteen fifty nine,
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: American film and stage actor, known for his imposing stature
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: and booming voice. He is not a fan of the gimp.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there you go. He makes every mission possible.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Ving Rames is the answer. He is born on this day.
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: Here are three fun facts about Ving, and one lie
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: with a blowtorch and some pliers. I'm gonna go medieval
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: on him, all right, buddy, here we go, Rip. We're
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: talking about Ving Rains, the actor from pulp fiction that
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: you know. Tell me which one of these is not true.
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: Number one. He was given his nickname Ving by roommate
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: and fellow Hollywood star Stanley Tucci. Number two. His full
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: name is Irving Jonathan Ramsey's number three. Although on film
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: he seems like a giant, he's actually only five eleven
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: and weighs abou two hundred pounds. Or lastly, he's a
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: graduate of the Juilliard School of Drama. Which of those
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: is a lie. Number one, No, that's absolutely true. He
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: was given the nickname Vange by his roommate and fellow
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: Hollywood star Stanley Tucci.
- 1:42:21Speaker 11: Wow.
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there were roommates as they were in the Hollywood
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: scene when they were young, and they maintained friends to
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: this day. That is crazy. All right, Uh one two
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: four or five? One one, three, four or five. Let's
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: go five to five. That's good. That's Joshua, Joshua, how
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: you doing. That's me? Hey, hey, buddy, we're talking about
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: We're talking about actor Ving Rams here, which one of
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: these is not true. His full name is Irving Jonathan
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: Ramsey's Rams number two. Although on film he seems like
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: a giant, he's actually only five eleven weighs about two
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: hundred pounds. Or lastly, he's a graduate of the Juilliard
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: School of Drama. I'm gonna say number two. You know,
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: that's absolutely he's absolutely true. He's only about five eleven.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: Some people give him credit for being six feet tall,
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: but just at two hundred pounds, really not that big
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: of a guy. But the way they shoot him and
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: his voice makes him seem gigantic. I thought he was
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: like six or five easily. I thought he was like
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: Michael Duncan Clark, like gigantic, and he was offered that role.
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: By the way, excuse me, one, three or four, let's
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: go one one sounds good. That's Jay j How you
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: doing all right?
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: How about y'all?
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: Good buddy, we're talking about being rains here. You get
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: a fifty to fifty shot at kicking it over to
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: the old Jackie sack. Which one of these is not true?
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: Number one. His full name is Irving Jonathan Ramsey's Rams
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: or he's a graduate of the Juilliard School of Drama.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: The first one, that's the one by you're one out, Yeah,
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: just taking out the Jonathan, and that's his actual name.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Irving Ramsey's Rams is his name. He is a graduate
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: of the Juilliard School of Drama, which is very impressive,
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: very much so. As well as the name Ramseys. Yeah,
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: many people after you know that's a condom company, isn't that?
- 1:44:04Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: I think Ramses is an old like a premium condom company.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: And oh yes, an Egyptian die. A couple other things
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: he was named after for an NBC journalist named Irving R. Levine. Really, yeah,
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: Irving Ving. And then lastly here he's the only actor
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: except Tom Cruise to appear in every Mission Impossible film.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: I did not know that. Yeah, known as a good guy.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: That's a great guy actually, and I think he's the
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: same guy. At one point. This may have been Michael
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: Ducklan Clark. I can't remember, but at one point one
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: of those guys, because I remember doing trivia on both
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: of them. One of them, if you walked up to
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: him and knew his name in the street, he would
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: give you ten dollars. Do you remember that, I do. Yeah,
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: I think it's Michael Clark. Yeah, because everybody knew who
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: he was but did not know his name, right, Yeah,
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: when they came up and said his name, or they
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: came up to ask for an autograph, because if you
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: know my name, I'll give you ten dollars.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: And I thought it was being but it's not all
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: right for it. But by the way, giant Christian like
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: carries a Bible everywhere he goes on set. That's his thing. Like,
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: if you want to find him apparently in his room
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: reading his Bible, big part of his life.
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree as well, all right for a seven
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: ninete six four one text us at seven seven is
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: zero three one. Take a little break back in a
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: second with a new keyword for you right after this.
- 1:45:25Speaker 6: Hey, these kids don't stand. Back in the seventies, we
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: had Vietnam vets who were teachers. We had instant at
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: our school where the teacher, Mr Fox told the kid son,
- 1:45:36Speaker 6: I'm six years from moved from being a tunnel rat.
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: Do you want to hang tango? Kid went home told
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: his dad dad King's school, talked to my dad, who's
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: the counselor, and he would have met a mister Fox.
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: Turns out these two guys were in the same botayo.
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: My dad said, look on like his face was priceless.
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: Guys, my parents were in the script club.
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: And I found out way to my twenties that both
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: my parents were a bunch of weed heads and did
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: a bunch of other stuff.
- 1:46:06Speaker 11: Did it make me look at them different from the
- 1:46:08Speaker 11: strip club?
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: Hello?
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: But now I go, you can't judge me now, so
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: deal with it. Yeah, yes, good job, dud, all right
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: four O seven nine six four one text seven seven
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: zero three one I mean I I mean you had
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: me at strip club.
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: I was in, so.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: Welcome back on Jim. There's deb Hello Jack Zier as well.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: There and your six o'clock Heyward is grand g R
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: A and D. Slide over to real radio DONFM and
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: send it off for your chance of one thousand bucks.
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: Grand is the word, guys, go get that money? Is
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: next week the last week? Yes, okay we need some winners,
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: Yeah we do, only had three. Somebody cut the water off. Yeah.
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: Grand is the word guys, go get that money for sure.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: So let me ask you as a question, what do
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: you think you average a night in sleep? Maybe six hours? Seven? Well, yeah,
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: I would say seven. Everybody has a pattern. One time
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: you usually go to bed like eleven twelve? Maybe later,
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: no sooner, I would say earlier. You got a bed
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: earlier than eleven o'clock. Yeah, I would say between ten
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: forty one. And people get the balls and call me
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: a boomer, and I could I get it early and work?
- 1:47:20Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: I sleep seven hours seven hours? Notice, yeah I do.
- 1:47:27Speaker 11: For you.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: You said a little bit later, sleep a little later? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: Does it mean it takes what three hours just to
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: come down after you get home from work and that's eleven.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: Yeah, about an hour and a half, two hours for
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: me to like decompress a little bit between eleven and one. Yeah,
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: I think that's about the same for me. Sometimes if
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: I'm tired, I'll go a bit a little bit earlier
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: than that eleven to one, and I usually get up
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: around you know, six or so. I've actually gotten pats
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: that that's that getting up super early thing, which was
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: a godsend. Everything changed when the time changed. I don't
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: know what it was. My body just readjusted. So I'm
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: I'm able to sleep like six thirty or sometimes even
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: seven now, which is a godsend. But I think I
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: probably get about seven hours, you know, six seven hours
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: a night. What country do you think it's the least
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: amount of sleep in the world. Where's it light more often?
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: Well, I think Alaska just had their last sunset for
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: a while.
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: The people in this country average about six and a
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: quarter hours of sleep tonight, compared with about seven a
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: little over seven hours for the US Russia. If you
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: think about this, you'll nail it. I will say, if
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: you break it down and think about it, you'll nail it.
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: Vatican City, that's funny a Japan. Oh yeah, because they're
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: a long work hours, right their sleep things like they
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: work work, work, work, work sleep, work, work, work work sleep.
- 1:48:44Speaker 14: Uh.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: The US gets about seven hours of sleep. New Zealand
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: I think leads with are is one of the leaders
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: at seven and a quarter hours a night. Nice and
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: it understands And it's kind of interesting because it really
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: kind of breaks down how culture affects how much you sleep.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: I mean I never even considered that in a million years.
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: I mean in Japan. It made perfect sense when I
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: read it was Japan, it was like, oh, it's a
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: culture thing for sure, because those guys are working their
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: asses off and then they're not sleeping very much. And
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: we've heard about that like that that's kind of leading
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: in a little bit of that loneliness issue. And we
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: talked about this last week as well, like that's why
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: Japan has like rent a grandma, rent a dog, rent
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: a family, whatever the case may be. They don't have
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: time for their own they just working ten, twelve, fourteen
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: hours a day. But it comes up with another thing.
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: I think it's kind of interesting as well. It says
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: while sleep is a biological process, it is highly influenced
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: by culture and environment, and this is why we see
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: clearly in countries that have shorter nightly average sleep. It
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: says in India, for an example, it's very common for
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: family meals to go late into the evening, Like starting
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: your meal at like nine o'clock and have it lasting
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: two or three or four hours is not that uncommon
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: in India. So that means if you're part of that family,
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: you're not going to bed until late. So maybe you're
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: sleeping less late. Why do you think that? Why do
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: you think that people in the UAE don't sleep as much?
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: Call to prayer. No, that's a great yes though. I
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: found this also fascinating. I love hitting Jack with this
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: stuff because Jack likes to think about stuff like this.
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: It's interesting. Yeah, so you're talking Middle East United Arab Emirates, Yes,
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: already warm are United No Emirates? Oh how about this?
- 1:50:32Speaker 4: It's the heat.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: It's so hot during the day that they do their
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: exercise and all the stuff they want to do to
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: enjoy life at night when they can actually tolerate it.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: So they're going to bed really late because they're exercising
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: at ten o'clock at night, eleven o'clock at nine, they're
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: doing all those things, those activities that they can't do
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: during the day because it's one hundred and twelve and
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: your shoes are melting to the roads. So they're using
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: that time to do that. So they sleep weird and
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: odd hours and less. Ah also said this date. No,
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: you said already, you said that's warm. Yeah, I give
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: you a little clue there. It says this came from
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: a sample of five thousand people, and they think of
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: the aura ring. Have you heard of that before?
- 1:51:12Speaker 11: Oh?
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you see commercials for it around the holiday.
- 1:51:14Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: And they said that that's exactly what they use to
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: get this data on sleep habits from different countries around
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: the world. And I just kind of found it amazing.
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: It says the research indicates that countries with shorter sleep
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: durations don't necessarily have world worse health outcomes. As a
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: matter of fact, let's look at Japan has a longer
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: average life expectancy than any other country in the world,
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: and they sleep less.
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: I think that's because of what they eat, yeah, and
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: what they don't eat.
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: And then what they exercise is are walking everywhere. There's
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: no like you know, you're not like us, and we're
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: getting your car to drive by three blocks. They walk
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: and their diet is incredibly good. So that's one of
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: those things. It says chronic sleep deprivation can lead to
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: increased risk of dementia, obesity, heart disease type And by
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: the way, it's weird doing all we hear from doctors
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: now a matter of fact, didn't we just hear this.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: When you're going through like your social media, you'll get
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: these videos and this one doctor said, and they throw
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: things up. It says, here, doctor, tell me which is
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: worse for you or whatever, and they'll say this or this,
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: and the doctor will go this, and they'll say the
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: reason why. The last question on that was what's worse
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: smoking or not getting enough sleep? And my man said
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: not getting enough sleep really no vaping, vaping or not
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: getting enough sleep. He said, not getting enough sleep is
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: way worse than all that stuff.
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: Well, that's when the body recovers and repairs itself. So
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: when you're not sleeping, all that damage you're doing during
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: the day, which is part of the reason why they
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: say don't eat a big meal before you go to bed,
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: because then your body spends those next few hours on
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: digestion instead of you know, recovery and repair of the
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: other parts of your body.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: Yeah, they're saying that different populations have different chronotypes, and
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: it says the challenge are the they call them night
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: owl nations. It says that they face a modern society, work, school,
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: family that often demand early rising, meaning sleep gets squeezed.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: And I think, I don't know we're when we're not
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: a night owl nation? Do you believe that?
- 1:53:03Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: You think so.
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: I think between our screens, you know, doom scrolling before
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: you go to sleep, the blue light from the TV
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: or the computer that's on your lap as your quote
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: unquote trying to fall asleep.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: Man, we're done with that, by the way, we've ended
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: that in our I mean the minute that we're both
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: ready to go to sleep, we just turned TV off.
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: We don't get I used to keep it going so
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: I could hear the forensic file guy voice, right, But
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: I don't even do that anymore. And it's that blue light.
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: It's so crazy, how much how intrusive that is when
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: you're trying to get a night's sleep. And so now
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: my wife and I decide we're both going to roll
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: over because sometimes she'll watch TV. She doesn't do that anymore.
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: She'll just go through her phone a little bit and
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: get drowsy and then go to sleep there. But then
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: the TV is just like it's just like it's sitting
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: in front of your face. Yeah, and we don't even
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: have we don't have like a big TV in our room.
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: Stood a little one, you know, all right, four seven
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: nine one six one o four one. Excuse me, you
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: can always text us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: I found that interesting. It's just kind of wild how
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: culture does affect the the way you sleep and stuff.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I bet it's from state to state here, based on
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: the industry that you're working around.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: Well, what's interesting about culture is that it's it's to me,
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: the fascinating part of the story is how much of
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: the environment will affect how you live your life. Again,
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: to hear in the UAE that they're exercising at ten
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: o'clock at night because it's too hot during the day, right,
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: I mean.
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: I mean you can get a little that in Florida.
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: I mean, I'm telling you straight up out. When it
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: gets to be you know, August, July, early September, and stuff,
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: don't you can certainly you could certainly make an argument
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: that you'd be like, I'm not doing anything during the day,
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: I'll do all this stuff at.
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: Night, whacking the dog. All that that was walking the dog. Yeah,
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: thank you, I'll repeat it. I'd love to abuse my
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: animal at night exactly when it's crazy. I whacking when
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: it's crazy. I don't want to sweat while beating my dog.
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: You change your schedule in the summer or anything like that.
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: When you do your activities, are you just down to
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: do them early in the morning?
- 1:54:59Speaker 11: Not?
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: Really, don't know, man, I do. Yeah, everything we do,
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: we try to do as early in the morning as possible.
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: We want to be out of the heat by like
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: ten or eleven o'clock in the morning. So yeah, if
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: it's yardwork, but anything discretionary like I'm doing for fun,
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: I'm just gonna do it. Or even if it's riding
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: my bike, it's you know, I'm okay with that. But
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: if it's yard work, I will try to avoid those
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: peak heat hours. It's so weird.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: Somebody just texted us at seven seven zero three one,
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: I played softball tournaments with games at three am in
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: Dubai as an expat working in Saudi.
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: Wow, that's crazy because I guess the heat right. And
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: my daughter was over there at and Riod for a
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: year and she never really mentioned that. But that was
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: like during COVID, so she was indoors almost all the
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: time anyway, okay, but you know she would say that
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: when you went outside it was just oppressive, Like when
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: you when she walked from her her where she stayed
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: over to where the is it the PX they call
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: it or whatever? Yeah, is the PX where all the
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: entertainment and food and stuff was she goes. Even that
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: like short walk from there to there was you just
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: couldn't believe it, like just could not believe it, like
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: your hair drivers like an ac unit. When she was
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: in riad did she say, Man, this place really needs
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: a comedy festival. I don't think she said that, but
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: man they some of those dudes that that rose got
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: torn apart for that. Yeah, I finally I thought that.
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: And that was I think a legit one because I
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: think Ryan Holmes on the Monsters, he made a good
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: comments like these roasts. A lot of it is, you know,
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: it gets repetitive, you know, uh, racist stuff for your
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: you know, a lot too aluding you being gay or something.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: A lot of those old tropes. But the you know what,
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: I think that was a legit one because it was
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: a Chelsea Handler one, right, Yeah, but it was also
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: it came up like, uh Sherry, uh oh, what's her name?
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: She had it too, A punch of people talk. Uh
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: kind of touched on that as a comeback a lot
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: for Tony Hinchcliff. Yeah, he took he took a lot.
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: He was taking a lot. But then he also did well.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: But you could tell that Pete Davidson joke on him
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: was brutal. That was probably the most brutal one of
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: the night. I'd say it definitely was the most brutal
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: one of the night. But also they seemed a little
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: more barbed when they were going at him, like you
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: could there was okay, there's a group of them like
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: the podcast boys, right, that's those are the ones that
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: Handler was going after, because she looked at them and said, I, uh, well,
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: I'm expecting all of you guys to pick up a
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: gun and go fighting, Iran. Are you a bunch of
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: pea words? And the only time you go to Saudi
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: Arabias for comedy festivals, right, or go to the Middle
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: East for just for comedy festivals. That was what started
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: it off. And then she and Shane Gills were going
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: at like crazy like that. I mean, that was that's
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: what got all the attention, the Pete Davidson joke, the
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: Cat Williams thing, because apparently Cat Williams and Kevin Hart
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: aren't friends or I don't know if that's a bit
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: or not. And it seemed legit, It seemed to have legs,
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: the fact that you know, he came out and then
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: they kind of made up. Yeah, and then the story
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: about the after party was equally weird because you know,
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: he didn't hear anything. He went to the after party
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: and apparently like it was thick, like it wasn't like
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: you know, you know, Kevin Hart wanted to kind of
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: throw it all under the bus and be done with it.
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: But you know, I and I guess they finally did.
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: But I didn't know they had beef. I guess short
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: guy beef.
- 1:58:04Speaker 13: Is that what it is?
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: The short guys get mad at each other being like
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: more famous if you're short or something. That's great. But
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: she came back to Shane Gillis and uh, you know,
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: and and Tony Hintchcliff.
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Well Gillis said that Handler had been scraped
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: more than the grill at Benny Hannah.
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: Oh oh they I mean he went there because doing
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: on like dead kids or something that she hung out
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: with Epstein and like it was personal.
- 1:58:33Speaker 11: Dude.
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: It almost wasn't even funnier, like they're just saying bad
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: stuff now, It's like it's not even informed in a joke.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: They're just like they're just uncovering everybody's worst secrets and
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: they're they're not even like comedic. I've kind of lost
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: my verve for the roast thing. I don't know why.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: Some funny moments, but overall it was just like, yeah, yeah,
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: that's that's the thing. I think. After the Tom Brady went,
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: I was just like, this isn't fun, Like this guy's
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: got to live with this. His kids are there for
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: crying out loud, good lord, Yeah, what's that any of
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: that uff said about you in front of your kids?
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: Davidson did. Okay. It's like, because I was never really
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: a huge Pete Davidson fan, I think I appreciated more
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: now he seems to be settling down now while you
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: got a kid. Yeah, tattoos removed, all that stuff. Yeah,

- 1:59:33Speaker 12: I remember hearing a joke about Ron Jeremy if someone said, man,
- 1:59:36Speaker 12: he's taller when he lays down, then he is standing up.
- 1:59:39Speaker 4: That joke.
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: Still a triple bagger. Yeah, we've only met a couple
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: of people in that industry. Met and there. That's a
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: unique bunch. That's a unique bunch. That's putting it lightly. Yeah,
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: that's crazy. Uh yeah, I was gonna say I met Ron,
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: and then I met Christie Canyon, superstar from back in
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: the eighties. I made her super mad, shocker, I mean
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: really mad, almost so mad she almost didn't do the interview.
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: She almost walked out. Really yeah. The guy who brought
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: her in farewella bill had to call her and take her,
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: you know, call her and talk her down off the
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: ledge so she'd still do the interview, all right? For
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: US seven nine one six one four one text us

- 2:00:35Speaker 2: let's do It's only money, so crag.
- 2:00:38Speaker 4: People passionate about planning for the future.
- 2:00:41Speaker 2: Brase above investment myths to build real.
- 2:00:47Speaker 4: Isn't that really just common sense financial advice?
- 2:00:49Speaker 11: It's a.
- 2:00:52Speaker 4: Oh okay, here's all the money. Wiscott Brown from the
- 2:00:57Speaker 4: edge our family.
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: World, give it up. Good laugh for nobody's Brown which
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: Winter Bailey Wills sitting in in front of his Rush
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: twenty one twelve. I love it that first concert, Baby,
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: I didn't know you're a big Rush fan. That's awesome, dude,
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: They're great.
- 2:01:13Speaker 18: I'm a big rushman. As the first Lakeland Civic Center.
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: Like in nineteen eighty one, I think something like that. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: it was awesome.
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: That was it.
- 2:01:25Speaker 18: I stuck out of the house I wasn't supposed to
- 2:01:27Speaker 18: go and didn't get caught.
- 2:01:28Speaker 7: You know.
- 2:01:29Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: And it's so wild for people who live in Orlando
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: now we have so many great venues to see shows
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: of different sizes. You go to Doctor Phillips Center, you
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: can go to the Kia Center, you can go to
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: hard Rock, you can go to House of Blues. Well,
- 2:01:42Speaker 2: I mean out in Sanford. Now we have Toughies and man.
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: Back in the day, in Orlando and it wasn't that
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: long ago, you had to go to Lakeland to see
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: a big show. That is crazy to even say.
- 2:01:53Speaker 18: Hundred percent, Like there was the Bayfront Center in Saint Pete.
- 2:01:57Speaker 18: You could go too, and you could go to Lakeland
- 2:01:59Speaker 18: City because it's weird because Tampa didn't really have a
- 2:02:02Speaker 18: much of a theater for that sort of thing, or
- 2:02:04Speaker 18: did Orlando till till the Rock Super Bowls started here.
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, And then they started having shows that
- 2:02:10Speaker 2: what was then the Citrus Bowl or a Tangerine Bull
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: or whatever. But up in Jackson and then Jacksonville you
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: could go see a show up there. It was the Coliseum.
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: And for years, all tours that went to Florida would
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: either go to Miami or Jacksonville. They would never stop
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: in between. Tampa Orlando didn't have a venue they could hold,
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: you know, ten thousand people or whatever for the big shows.
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: Back then. It was crazy to even think that ever happened.
- 2:02:30Speaker 18: Yeah, I had to get in my sixty eight much
- 2:02:32Speaker 18: stang with the floorboards falling out, wade it all the
- 2:02:35Speaker 18: way there and back without my parents catching me.
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: Like I said, till now, all right, Scott Brown, Edgeward
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: Family Wealth. That's Edgewardfamilywealth dot Com, thirty eight years here
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: in Central Florida. Excuse me as a fiduciary making sure
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: that your money goes as long as you wanted to
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: and to help you with techniques of how to save money,
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: how to manage it. And I got to tell you,
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: I think today's is going to be very popular because
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: every time we do this segment, inevitably we will get
- 2:02:59Speaker 2: a lot of questions about this and I actually, you know,
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: am very interested in myself. By the way, we do
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: have another event coming up June thirteenth at Ruth's Chris
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: And Winter Park. So go to Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com, go
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: to the pool down bar and make your reservation. Remember
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: it cost you nothing. Not only will you get information
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: that can change your life, you also get a damn
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: good lunch.
- 2:03:18Speaker 18: Yeah, this one's super exciting. This is different than anything
- 2:03:21Speaker 18: we've done. Many people probably don't realize that Edgewater family wealth.
- 2:03:26Speaker 18: In my team, we've been doing four oh one k's
- 2:03:28Speaker 18: in Central Florida and four h three b's, which we'll
- 2:03:31Speaker 18: talk about in the second, which are the not for
- 2:03:33Speaker 18: profit versions of four oh one case. We've been doing
- 2:03:35Speaker 18: this in Central Florida now for over four right at
- 2:03:38Speaker 18: forty years. We have a very extensive portfolio here in
- 2:03:41Speaker 18: Central Florida, so we're I'm used to speaking in front
- 2:03:45Speaker 18: of large groups of four oh one k participants, and
- 2:03:47Speaker 18: what we decided to do was take that what amounts
- 2:03:51Speaker 18: to about forty years of content that we spoke to
- 2:03:53Speaker 18: all these fans, literally half a billion dollars in four
- 2:03:56Speaker 18: oh one k's here in Central Florida, and turn that
- 2:03:58Speaker 18: into a seminar and more important, or as important as
- 2:04:02Speaker 18: that is, we're doing it on a Saturday, which June
- 2:04:05Speaker 18: thirteenth is a Saturday, and winter park. And we're doing
- 2:04:08Speaker 18: that because we realize most people who are in four
- 2:04:10Speaker 18: oh one k's have jobs, that's ten those tend to
- 2:04:14Speaker 18: go hand in hand, so we wanted to do it
- 2:04:16Speaker 18: on a Saturday. I'm excited because if this applies to
- 2:04:20Speaker 18: anybody who has a four h three B or a
- 2:04:23Speaker 18: four oh one k a retirement plan at work. We're
- 2:04:25Speaker 18: gonna cover everything four oh one k, everything from fun fees,
- 2:04:29Speaker 18: from how to pick funds, how do you know the
- 2:04:31Speaker 18: difference between an expensive fund and an inexpensive fund? What
- 2:04:35Speaker 18: are additional fees you don't know about? What are the
- 2:04:37Speaker 18: best ways to utilize your four oh one k? How
- 2:04:39Speaker 18: do you maximize your employer's contribution? Should you convert to
- 2:04:43Speaker 18: a roth? Should you do the back door a roth?
- 2:04:46Speaker 18: All of these things that people hear about but don't
- 2:04:50Speaker 18: learn about. They hear these terms, they think for a
- 2:04:52Speaker 18: second about it, then life hits them upside the head
- 2:04:55Speaker 18: and they move on without getting their questions answered. I
- 2:04:57Speaker 18: am telling you, if you're a four oh one one
- 2:05:00Speaker 18: K participant, this is going to be a game changer
- 2:05:02Speaker 18: for you. So I just fight been doing these things
- 2:05:05Speaker 18: for forty years, and I can tell you the reason
- 2:05:08Speaker 18: our plans are so well participated in is because of
- 2:05:11Speaker 18: the content We're going to do Saturday, June the thirteenth.
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: That's unbelievable again, that's June thirteenth, Ruth's Chris and Winter
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: part Go to Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com. Use the pull down
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: bar to make your reservation. Remember, it costs nothing to
- 2:05:24Speaker 2: go and you will get the information Scott was just
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: talking about. Plus you'll get a wonderful lunch as well.
- 2:05:29Speaker 2: There is no high pressure sales, none of that stuff.
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: So hopefully you guys can get a seat there as well.
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: And I also see that a lot of people still
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: doing the wealth DNA test as well.
- 2:05:39Speaker 18: Yeah, so we have every show we do, we get
- 2:05:43Speaker 18: a bunch of people using wealth DNA, which is basically
- 2:05:45Speaker 18: a personality test for money. It basically tells you all
- 2:05:49Speaker 18: of the dues and don't you should do as an individual,
- 2:05:52Speaker 18: meaning it's testing you as an individual to see what
- 2:05:54Speaker 18: your weaknesses and strengths are when it comes to money.
- 2:05:57Speaker 18: How will you react? Will you react poorly if this happened?
- 2:06:00Speaker 18: Will you react poorly if that happens? How to adjust
- 2:06:02Speaker 18: for that and how to prepare for that? And the
- 2:06:04Speaker 18: reason I know it's going well is because we surveyed
- 2:06:06Speaker 18: all the people who have taken there, most of them anyway,
- 2:06:09Speaker 18: and the feedback's been outstanding.
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: People have said, yeah, it was dead on.
- 2:06:12Speaker 18: I couldn't believe how accurate it was, and it gave
- 2:06:14Speaker 18: me some insights into my own personality and why I
- 2:06:18Speaker 18: may or may not be struggling with money.
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go, and again you can do that
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: for free at Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com. That is the wealth
- 2:06:24Speaker 2: DNA test. Go take that. He said. Tons of people
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: are doing that, and they're getting great answers, and they're
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: getting a better idea of who and what they are.
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: And maybe that can answer why your behavior is the
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: way it is when it comes to your finances. I mean,
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: you could find something that's in there. There's just kind
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: of innate in your personality that you need to kind
- 2:06:41Speaker 2: of overcome to make sure you're maximizing the value of
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: what you're doing with your money.
- 2:06:45Speaker 18: Yeah, we all have obviously, we all have strengths and
- 2:06:47Speaker 18: weaknesses in our personalities. So we do well in this situation,
- 2:06:50Speaker 18: but not so well in that situation. And I think
- 2:06:53Speaker 18: if you just get a hold of that for a
- 2:06:55Speaker 18: second and say, yeah, I do notice when the market
- 2:06:58Speaker 18: goes down, I panic, I rover react to the news.
- 2:07:02Speaker 18: I tend to want to sell everything, whereas my spouse
- 2:07:04Speaker 18: is the other way. They're like, ah, just let it ride.
- 2:07:07Speaker 18: Sometimes that spouse is saying just let it ride to
- 2:07:09Speaker 18: something that maybe needs attention. So you each understand the
- 2:07:12Speaker 18: weaknesses and strengths of your situation.
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: Absolutely, let's get into it. What is the difference between
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: a four to oh one K and a four to
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: oh three B.
- 2:07:21Speaker 18: Yeah, so on the show we talk a lot about
- 2:07:23Speaker 18: four oh one case because it's probably the most prevalent
- 2:07:26Speaker 18: thing people have in terms of investing outside of their homes.
- 2:07:29Speaker 18: But the alternative to that is the four H three B.
- 2:07:32Speaker 18: A four H three B is the same thing as
- 2:07:35Speaker 18: a four oh one K. The rules are similar, the
- 2:07:37Speaker 18: tax deferral, the tax deduction, Your ability to use a
- 2:07:41Speaker 18: four or three B is very similar. It's just for
- 2:07:42Speaker 18: a not for profits. So if you're an employee of
- 2:07:45Speaker 18: the state, if you're a work for any kind of municipality,
- 2:07:48Speaker 18: that if you work for a not for profit school,
- 2:07:50Speaker 18: like there's several large private schools in town that have
- 2:07:53Speaker 18: four H three b's. If you work for a charity,
- 2:07:56Speaker 18: if you work for the Boys and Girls Club, they
- 2:07:58Speaker 18: all have what's called a four oh three B. The
- 2:08:01Speaker 18: only difference is it's just a different part in the
- 2:08:03Speaker 18: tax code that applies to.
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: Not for profits.
- 2:08:06Speaker 18: But I didn't I don't want people who are in
- 2:08:08Speaker 18: and there's there's tons of thousands of people in Central
- 2:08:11Speaker 18: Florida who are participants in four oh three b's, if
- 2:08:14Speaker 18: you're a teacher oftentimes, if you work for a not
- 2:08:18Speaker 18: for profit hospital oftentimes. So I don't want people to
- 2:08:22Speaker 18: feel like they're being left out in the conversation. So
- 2:08:25Speaker 18: the same for this event on the thirteenth, We're gonna
- 2:08:27Speaker 18: be talking about four or three b's as well. Many
- 2:08:29Speaker 18: of the rules overlap. In fact, some of the largest
- 2:08:32Speaker 18: plans we deal with as a firm are actually four
- 2:08:35Speaker 18: oh three b's and not four oh one case. We
- 2:08:37Speaker 18: tend to say four oh one K because most everybody
- 2:08:40Speaker 18: knows what that is. But the reality is there's tens
- 2:08:43Speaker 18: of thousands of people, as I said, in this town
- 2:08:46Speaker 18: in central Florida who participate in four three bes.
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: All right, So why is it important to understand your
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: fun choices in a four oh one K If you
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: really don't speak that language, you're just pretty much leaning
- 2:08:55Speaker 2: on Fidelity or whomever to make those decisions for you.
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: Most people are told not go in there and fiddle
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: around with it. Not to mess around with it. You
- 2:09:02Speaker 2: can make a gigantic mistake. So what are those choices
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: when it comes to fees and training costs and all
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: that other stuff. What is that all about?
- 2:09:09Speaker 18: Well, the thing that prompted me to actually talk about
- 2:09:13Speaker 18: this today is I had a conversation with a participant
- 2:09:15Speaker 18: in a plan, one of our plans, and we were
- 2:09:19Speaker 18: talking about and it's a new plan, this plan we
- 2:09:21Speaker 18: just took over, and I was explaining to him that
- 2:09:25Speaker 18: the fund he's in cost literally four times what the
- 2:09:29Speaker 18: another fund in the lineup costs. And they said, well, yeah,
- 2:09:33Speaker 18: but it's it's this company, and I like this company.
- 2:09:35Speaker 18: Said look that, let's look at the performance. One was
- 2:09:37Speaker 18: an index, so one was a stripped out index. It
- 2:09:40Speaker 18: was cheap, it was like, you know, less than one
- 2:09:43Speaker 18: tenth of one percent. The product that he was in
- 2:09:46Speaker 18: was charging almost five times that amount, but the performance
- 2:09:50Speaker 18: was virtually the same. So he he said, well, how
- 2:09:54Speaker 18: would I how should I?
- 2:09:56Speaker 2: How would I know that?
- 2:09:57Speaker 18: Well, you would know that if you the advisor on
- 2:09:59Speaker 18: the plan. Every planner, at least most plans are assigned
- 2:10:02Speaker 18: an advisor. That person's job is to meet with individuals
- 2:10:06Speaker 18: and make sure mistakes like this don't occur where somebody's
- 2:10:10Speaker 18: getting a performance that they could get for a fifth
- 2:10:14Speaker 18: of the price. So there are lots of fees in
- 2:10:17Speaker 18: the mutual funds in a four to one K. I'm
- 2:10:19Speaker 18: not advocating for no fees. People got to get paid.
- 2:10:22Speaker 18: There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes.
- 2:10:24Speaker 18: There's accounting, there's tax preparation, there's statements, there's the advisor
- 2:10:29Speaker 18: that comes out, there's all kinds of nonsense in the website.
- 2:10:32Speaker 18: There's a lot of things that got to be paid for.
- 2:10:34Speaker 18: But there's no reason to overpay. And if you understand that,
- 2:10:37Speaker 18: there are fun fees. So the mutual funds that are
- 2:10:39Speaker 18: inside that package of your four to one K, they
- 2:10:42Speaker 18: get a fee. There's usually a platform fee that the
- 2:10:45Speaker 18: provider if it's Fidelity or Vanguard or John Hancock, they
- 2:10:48Speaker 18: get a fee right, and then there's an advisory fee typically,
- 2:10:52Speaker 18: so there's three fees right there. And then the fourth
- 2:10:55Speaker 18: one that most people don't recognize is in every mutual
- 2:10:58Speaker 18: fund there's trading that goes on. Right, they buy this
- 2:11:01Speaker 18: and they sell that. They that has cost to it.
- 2:11:07Speaker 18: It's called trading cost.
- 2:11:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:11:09Speaker 18: That is the hardest fee to figure out because it's
- 2:11:12Speaker 18: based on turnover. Right, But if you have a fund
- 2:11:14Speaker 18: that's turning over one hundred percent a year, versus one
- 2:11:17Speaker 18: that's turning over ten percent a year. You can fully
- 2:11:20Speaker 18: expect that the one turning over one hundred percent of
- 2:11:22Speaker 18: a year is gonna be more expensive. And that brings
- 2:11:25Speaker 18: me back to the thirteenth, which is where we're gonna
- 2:11:27Speaker 18: talk about a lot of it.
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: So, I mean, is there a is there? Is it
- 2:11:31Speaker 2: an age or a number where I should come and
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: start thinking about where everything is allocated my four oh
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: one k is it when you get sixty to fifty nine?
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: Is it when you have five hundred grand or one
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: hundred and fifty grand? I mean, is there a test
- 2:11:46Speaker 2: or a guide of when you should start paying attention
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: to these fees and paying attention to how this thing
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: is is set up?
- 2:11:54Speaker 18: You should pay attention to day one. I mean, I'm
- 2:11:56Speaker 18: not saying you need to be an expert. It's certainly
- 2:11:58Speaker 18: as your beginning, and you're putting you one hundred dollars
- 2:12:00Speaker 18: a month or whatever the number is. When you're twenty
- 2:12:02Speaker 18: five years old or thirty years old, it's not as
- 2:12:05Speaker 18: consequential obviously, but there's no reason in any plan that
- 2:12:10Speaker 18: you shouldn't ask to see the advisor and say, hey,
- 2:12:13Speaker 18: you're enrolling me in this thing, you're taking my money,
- 2:12:15Speaker 18: and that's not a good way to put it, because
- 2:12:17Speaker 18: you're actually saving the money and oftentimes your employers adding
- 2:12:20Speaker 18: to it.
- 2:12:20Speaker 2: So it's a benefit for sure.
- 2:12:22Speaker 18: But part of that benefit, if not one of the
- 2:12:24Speaker 18: biggest parts of that benefit, is the advisory service that
- 2:12:28Speaker 18: should come with that plan. And this is what I
- 2:12:31Speaker 18: notice with a lot of plans that we take over
- 2:12:34Speaker 18: is the advisors asleep at the switch. It's somebody's cousin,
- 2:12:37Speaker 18: somebody's brother in law, and they're not nefarious people, but
- 2:12:42Speaker 18: they know they're gonna get paid no matter what happens.
- 2:12:44Speaker 18: They go, they visit the boss once or twice a year.
- 2:12:47Speaker 18: The boss is happy, they're happy. Nobody called claims too much.
- 2:12:50Speaker 18: But the reality is what I see in plants that
- 2:12:53Speaker 18: aren't highly educated, where there's not a lot of advisor interaction,
- 2:12:56Speaker 18: is participations low and average balances are low. And the
- 2:13:00Speaker 18: only thing that makes a four oh one K good
- 2:13:02Speaker 18: is not just being cheap, but it's being participated in
- 2:13:05Speaker 18: where the average balance of the participants is high. And
- 2:13:09Speaker 18: that's how you know if I'm running I have a
- 2:13:12Speaker 18: four one K at work in every year we have
- 2:13:16Speaker 18: an advisor. Actually, but I sit down with every one
- 2:13:19Speaker 18: of my employees every year and I go through their
- 2:13:21Speaker 18: four to oh one K with them because I want
- 2:13:24Speaker 18: to make sure that they're gonna spend thirty years with
- 2:13:26Speaker 18: me and they're not prepared to retire for two reasons.
- 2:13:29Speaker 18: One I care about them and two they're gonna be
- 2:13:31Speaker 18: upset employees if they get to be fifty nine, sixty two,
- 2:13:36Speaker 18: whatever it is, and they look around and go, well,
- 2:13:38Speaker 18: I'm stuck at this place for the rest of my
- 2:13:40Speaker 18: life because I didn't save enough money. So I do
- 2:13:44Speaker 18: that with my own participants. But if you're in a
- 2:13:46Speaker 18: four to one K or a four h three B
- 2:13:48Speaker 18: with an advisor, which is most you should demand the attention.
- 2:13:52Speaker 14: Of that advice.
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: And by the way, this is one of the great
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: reasons you should get over to rus Chris on June
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: thirteenth and take advantage of this during this weekend to parents,
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: these are rare, so you definitely want to get your
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: seat because if you don't, if you don't act, I
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: think you'll get left out these weekend ones. I mean
- 2:14:07Speaker 2: they get filled immediately. So again to go to Edgewaterfamilywealth
- 2:14:11Speaker 2: dot com and go to the pulldown bar and reserve
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: your air. If you have questions about your four one K,
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: where the money's allocated, what funds you're in, how many
- 2:14:17Speaker 2: fees you're paying, these guys can help show you how
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: to find that stuff out or maybe even find it
- 2:14:21Speaker 2: for you. You better reserve your seat before I get it. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: no joke, Yeah, I may go. And then lastly, we
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: had a win a small little conversation today about this
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: tiny startup called SpaceX.
- 2:14:32Speaker 18: Yeah, I've heard of it.
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, talk to me about some of these numbers. You
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: sent me some numbers and it didn't even really it
- 2:14:38Speaker 2: sounded like government budget numbers.
- 2:14:41Speaker 18: Yeah, yeah, Well it's bigger than some government budget numbers.
- 2:14:44Speaker 18: So SpaceX will be going public this year in an
- 2:14:47Speaker 18: initial I p O and I know Jack. Somebody asked
- 2:14:50Speaker 18: how they get it. Good luck, what I'll say, You know,
- 2:14:55Speaker 18: you got to know somebody to get be a part
- 2:14:57Speaker 18: of that one. But certainly you can buy it after
- 2:14:58Speaker 18: it starts trading. But they spect that this company will
- 2:15:01Speaker 18: go public somewhere between one point seventy five and two
- 2:15:05Speaker 18: trillion dollars, which is only smaller than I think five
- 2:15:10Speaker 18: or six existing companies that are trading, and a lot
- 2:15:14Speaker 18: of people are speculating, and I think rightfully so that
- 2:15:17Speaker 18: space may eventually be worth fifteen twenty twenty five thirty
- 2:15:22Speaker 18: trillion dollars in the next decade, because if you think
- 2:15:25Speaker 18: about it, they got Starlink. They think Starlink might be
- 2:15:28Speaker 18: worth fifteen trillion all on its own. They think they
- 2:15:30Speaker 18: we'll have the entire planet on Starlink before this is
- 2:15:34Speaker 18: all said and done. So SpaceX is obviously a very
- 2:15:38Speaker 18: highly coveted IPO that's coming out this year. You know,
- 2:15:42Speaker 18: the amount of money involved here is just baffling. I know.
- 2:15:46Speaker 18: They give you a perspective when it first was when
- 2:15:49Speaker 18: they first raised money privately, the first offering I saw
- 2:15:52Speaker 18: anything about, was it about one hundred and fifty billion,
- 2:15:55Speaker 18: and it is that that was two years ago. So
- 2:15:57Speaker 18: think about how quickly it's grown and how exp ely
- 2:16:00Speaker 18: it's grown. So SpaceX again, it's it's fun to talk about.
- 2:16:05Speaker 18: It's not going to be easy to get for most people. Yeah,
- 2:16:07Speaker 18: and let me ask you about that, because I find
- 2:16:08Speaker 18: that very interesting. I always assumed that once in I
- 2:16:11Speaker 18: once they did the IPO thing, which is the initial
- 2:16:13Speaker 18: public offering, right that anybody, I mean, as long as
- 2:16:16Speaker 18: you had money and you had the ability to go
- 2:16:19Speaker 18: and buy shares of that that you could do that.
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: You're telling me that's not the case.
- 2:16:22Speaker 18: No, No, that is the case once it's publicly traded.
- 2:16:25Speaker 18: But once the market's opened, that stock could could balloon,
- 2:16:28Speaker 18: you know, thirty percent in a second. Right, So why
- 2:16:32Speaker 18: people covet pre io shares which some which firms get
- 2:16:36Speaker 18: and they divvy out to their best customers. Just so
- 2:16:38Speaker 18: we're being clear here, right, they divvy it out to
- 2:16:41Speaker 18: their biggest and best customers. Another advantage of you know,
- 2:16:43Speaker 18: another situation of the rich get richer. Right, Ron Baron's
- 2:16:46Speaker 18: getting this stock, Mark Cuban's getting this stock, Branson's getting
- 2:16:50Speaker 18: this stock, Gates is getting this stock.
- 2:16:52Speaker 2: You and I we probably ain't getting this stock, but
- 2:16:54Speaker 2: you can buy it after the initial trade. Yeah, but
- 2:16:57Speaker 2: by then, like you said, it's already increasing price by
- 2:16:59Speaker 2: almost half. Yeah, but then it could still going up
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: when you talk about the evaluation there. But Scott, we
- 2:17:06Speaker 2: have a text from someone who works at space X.
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: They say, as an employee they have fourteen and thirty shares.
- 2:17:12Speaker 2: Is that their retirement right there?
- 2:17:15Speaker 18: And that's that proper person's probably set for life?
- 2:17:18Speaker 11: Wow?
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: How much do you think this initial share is going
- 2:17:21Speaker 2: to be I mean, I think is it isn't like Berkshire,
- 2:17:23Speaker 2: one of the most expensive single shares out there. It's
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: like a quarter of a million dollars a piece of
- 2:17:27Speaker 2: something or more.
- 2:17:29Speaker 18: Yeah, it's it's it's hard. It's impossible to know how
- 2:17:32Speaker 18: many shares can We don't know where they're going to
- 2:17:34Speaker 18: price it.
- 2:17:34Speaker 2: Or how many, but we know the value.
- 2:17:36Speaker 18: The cumulative value divided by however many they want to
- 2:17:39Speaker 18: divide it by, is going to be between one and
- 2:17:42Speaker 18: a half to two trillion dollars. That seems to be
- 2:17:45Speaker 18: where everybody's laying.
- 2:17:46Speaker 2: How many favors you catch it in trying to get
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: your paws on this. I've got some feelers out lie,
- 2:17:53Speaker 2: I'm trying. I know a guy that's got a feeler
- 2:17:56Speaker 2: as well, So you keep them, guy in mind. I'll
- 2:17:57Speaker 2: take one chair ten four again. Don't forget guys. That's
- 2:18:01Speaker 2: June thirteenth, Ruth, Chris and winter Park, And what Jack
- 2:18:05Speaker 2: was saying is absolutely true. Every one of the weekend
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: gigs that we've done, they fill up immediately, Okay immediately,
- 2:18:10Speaker 2: because not only are you getting the information, you're also
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: getting a free lunch. And it doesn't cost anything to go.
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: There is no hard sell. You're not gonna have to
- 2:18:18Speaker 2: buy a cruise or a timeshare. It is legit just
- 2:18:22Speaker 2: to introduce you to the brand of edgewaterfamilywealll dot com
- 2:18:25Speaker 2: and to show you and they know exactly what they're
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: doing to get you in a good position so that
- 2:18:29Speaker 2: you don't have to worry about things when you get
- 2:18:30Speaker 2: to that age. I want to know more about my
- 2:18:32Speaker 2: four on one me too. I'd stop after a salad
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: if it.
- 2:18:35Speaker 18: Would let me in, so again you could have to
- 2:18:38Speaker 18: stay Jack.
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: You're allowed Edges Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com. Go to the pulldown
- 2:18:42Speaker 2: bar and reserve your seat for June thirteenth. Scott always
- 2:18:45Speaker 2: good seeing you guys. Likewise, good labors, got brand pay
- 2:18:52Speaker 2: well you mother got you have no idea? Dude to
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: the moon. You set the bitch? How there? You all right?
- 2:19:00Speaker 2: We'll see'd be good. Oh that guy the Life of Riley.
- 2:19:04Speaker 2: I'm going to get him to tune me up so
- 2:19:06Speaker 2: I can take off and go play off too. You
- 2:19:07Speaker 2: know have you heard it here first?
- 2:19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to talk about how several survive a
- 2:19:12Speaker 3: small plane crash off the Florida coast a SpaceX mission
- 2:19:16Speaker 3: is scrubbed and where Pensacola's Richardson finished an American idol.
- 2:19:20Speaker 3: We'll talk about that next during You heard it here first,
- 2:19:23Speaker 3: you got it.
- 2:19:23Speaker 2: Take a little break, don't forget grand is your six
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: ock key? Where got about ten minutes or so to
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: get over to a real radio dot FM and send
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: then offer your chance at one thousand bucks back in
- 2:19:30Speaker 2: a second Deb's news. We'll get the hell out of
- 2:19:32Speaker 2: here on a Tuesday.
- 2:19:36Speaker 9: Hey, talk about a small world. My first concert was
- 2:19:40Speaker 9: Rush at that very same Lake La Civic Center, same
- 2:19:45Speaker 9: time Scott was there in eighty one eighty two.
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: Crazy lot.
- 2:19:50Speaker 19: Oh Hi, I'm Stephanie and I go to the Orlando
- 2:19:53Speaker 19: Fringe Festival every year. Did you know that it's the
- 2:19:55Speaker 19: oldest fringe fast in the US and it's here in
- 2:19:58Speaker 19: central Florida.
- 2:19:59Speaker 2: It's so fun.
- 2:20:00Speaker 19: This year I'm producing a new show called Once Upon
- 2:20:03Speaker 19: a Trader Faithfully ever After. It combines the fabulousness of
- 2:20:06Speaker 19: Alan Comming and his reality show. The traders and the
- 2:20:09Speaker 19: players are familiar Disney characters, but maybe not exactly as
- 2:20:13Speaker 19: you remember them. Join us in the Green venue.
- 2:20:16Speaker 2: Very nice, and any fringe player that wants to promote
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: their show. They can certainly do that through a talkback
- 2:20:21Speaker 2: which is easy to describe the iHeartRadio app good Real Radio.
- 2:20:24Speaker 2: You'll see that Mike there, leave your comment just like that,
- 2:20:26Speaker 2: young lady. We had somebody else that was doing it,
- 2:20:28Speaker 2: and I think tomorrow, not tomorrow, but to Thursday and Friday. Yep,
- 2:20:31Speaker 2: we're gonna have two Fringe performers in as well. Chase
- 2:20:34Speaker 2: Paget will be with us and Joel Warren will be
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: with us as well. That's right. And if you want
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: details on how to leave it talk back or information
- 2:20:41Speaker 2: about the Fringe, we have it on our website at
- 2:20:43Speaker 2: real Radio dot fm slash Fringe and it starts tonight, yeah,
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: and it goes all the way until Memorial Day. We
- 2:20:50Speaker 2: had also somebody text in and asked about how they
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: can check out the wood you do. That's new lists
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: for all the stuff that we do. If you just
- 2:20:54Speaker 2: go to jump over live dot com, there's a master
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: list that says what do you do that's new. When
- 2:20:58Speaker 2: you click on that, you'll see every choice it's ever
- 2:21:01Speaker 2: been made. Yeah, some of them have been archive. You
- 2:21:03Speaker 2: could actually go back into twenty eighteen and see stuff
- 2:21:06Speaker 2: that we chose back then, And I will tell you, man,
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: if you ever get kind of stuck in a rut
- 2:21:09Speaker 2: when it comes to you entertainment, that's actually a pretty
- 2:21:12Speaker 2: good outlet because there's some crazy stuff on there. Albums, movies,
- 2:21:16Speaker 2: TV shows, animation, all kinds of nuts, crazy stuff a
- 2:21:21Speaker 2: nuts all that, that's just nuts, all right. Welcome back
- 2:21:23Speaker 2: to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim. There's Deb Hello,
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: Jack is here? Deb Let's do you heard it here first?
- 2:21:29Speaker 4: Or pot you heard it here first? On the Jim
- 2:21:33Speaker 4: Colbert Show.
- 2:21:34Speaker 2: Well, thankfully.
- 2:21:34Speaker 3: The US Coast Guard rescued all ten people aboard a
- 2:21:37Speaker 3: small plane that crashed about eighty miles off the coast
- 2:21:40Speaker 3: of Melbourne. Officials said the passengers were taken to local
- 2:21:43Speaker 3: hospitals for evaluation after arriving at Melbourne Orlando International Airport.
- 2:21:48Speaker 3: One patient was transported to Orlando, the others retreated right
- 2:21:53Speaker 3: there in Melbourne. The FAA said the plane was traveling
- 2:21:55Speaker 3: between islands in the Bahamas when it crashed, and the
- 2:21:58Speaker 3: cause remains under investigation. All you have to do is
- 2:22:02Speaker 3: look out the window and realize that SpaceX has scrubb
- 2:22:05Speaker 3: tonight's launch to the International Space Station siting the weather.
- 2:22:09Speaker 3: This was supposed to be NASA's SpaceX thirty fourth cargo
- 2:22:13Speaker 3: run together. The rocket was originally scheduled to lift off
- 2:22:16Speaker 3: at seven sixteen pm tonight from Cape Canaveral Space Force
- 2:22:20Speaker 3: Station and residents. We talked about this earlier and several
- 2:22:23Speaker 3: Conies were warned about the possibility of a sonic boom
- 2:22:26Speaker 3: during the ground landing of the Falcon nine first stage.
- 2:22:28Speaker 3: But that won't happen. No word on when it's being rescheduled.
- 2:22:32Speaker 2: Se ask you a question, even if they thought they
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: could shoot it up in the rain and stuff like that,
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: do you think they hold off just so people can
- 2:22:38Speaker 2: see it go up?
- 2:22:39Speaker 3: No, I think it has more to do with the
- 2:22:41Speaker 3: type of weather they're going up and into, Like you
- 2:22:43Speaker 3: don't want to send it into clouds where static electricity
- 2:22:46Speaker 3: can end up creating its own lightning and then you
- 2:22:48Speaker 3: end up with a rocket explosion.
- 2:22:50Speaker 2: I mean to me, it's as much a show as
- 2:22:52Speaker 2: it as anything. And you know, you think, like you
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: don't want to send one of those things up where
- 2:22:55Speaker 2: people can't see it. And I don't know how really,
- 2:22:57Speaker 2: I don't know how much the weather affects them. I
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: don't really know. I know when the fact, and that
- 2:23:00Speaker 2: makes sense, but rain doesn't kind of, but I don't know.
- 2:23:03Speaker 2: I'm not a physicist or scientist or a rocket hei
- 2:23:05Speaker 2: or none of that.
- 2:23:07Speaker 3: All Right in Escambia County, woman's dreams of winning American
- 2:23:10Speaker 3: Idol are over, but her future remains bright. Pensacola's Kila
- 2:23:13Speaker 3: Richardson came in third in last night's season finale.
- 2:23:16Speaker 2: Still the city is proud.
- 2:23:18Speaker 3: Offic She'll say she represented Pensacola with her soaring voice
- 2:23:21Speaker 3: and tremendous heart, and no matter the outcome, the best
- 2:23:24Speaker 3: is yet to come. Mayor d c Reeves attended a
- 2:23:27Speaker 3: watch party and says this is just the beginning for Quila.
- 2:23:30Speaker 3: He tells Where News that they're going to look back
- 2:23:32Speaker 3: at this as the launch of an amazing career that'll
- 2:23:34Speaker 3: continue to put Pensacola on the map. Wow, and you
- 2:23:38Speaker 3: heard it here first on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:23:40Speaker 2: Thank you, dero. Who do we have to think today,
- 2:23:42Speaker 2: young lady?
- 2:23:43Speaker 3: Well, we want to thank Scott Brown with Edgewater Family
- 2:23:46Speaker 3: Wealth just in case you missed his timely financial advice.
- 2:23:49Speaker 3: His podcast has already been posted at The Jim Colbert
- 2:23:52Speaker 3: Show and then last but never leased, Sam Bowen Candice
- 2:23:55Speaker 3: Rich and Alicia Bullwear for running our YouTube check.
- 2:23:58Speaker 2: Thanks guys appreciate that, as we do every single day.
- 2:24:01Speaker 2: Jack question oh the day? Uh yeah, and their YouTube chat.
- 2:24:04Speaker 2: Do you believe Jim Kolberg really really killed the guy
- 2:24:09Speaker 2: in his dream? Somebody just text in you know there
- 2:24:16Speaker 2: is a golfer named Jim Colbert, an actual player, a professional,
- 2:24:19Speaker 2: and he died today at eighty five years old.
- 2:24:21Speaker 3: I was wondering what that text message was.
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: I was like, Hey, that's not I used to get
- 2:24:25Speaker 2: asked that all the time when I first started playing. Hey,
- 2:24:27Speaker 2: you're not related to and no I'm not. But this
- 2:24:30Speaker 2: guy had a fascinating career, built like two hundred golf courses,
- 2:24:32Speaker 2: wrote a book on blackjack, all kinds of crazy sounds
- 2:24:35Speaker 2: just like you. And he was a bigger guy, kind
- 2:24:37Speaker 2: of you know, not related. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right,
- 2:24:41Speaker 2: Doug coming up tomorrow, we have an Animal House and
- 2:24:43Speaker 2: Scott Maxwell. Who's in for Animal House. Oh it's one
- 2:24:46Speaker 2: of your favorites.
- 2:24:47Speaker 3: Daisy from the Bond Center for Birds of Prease.
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: She's always the best. Mats is very good. Of course
- 2:24:54Speaker 2: we'll talk to Scott Maxwell as well. Former opportunities for
- 2:24:57Speaker 2: you to win one thousand dollars out of here guys.
- 2:25:01Speaker 2: Yes on the aff of Devin Jack On Jim, we
