- 0:02Speaker 1: Hi you guys, Welcome back to to Jersey Jays. There
- 0:06Speaker 1: actually aren't two of us today. It's just me and
- 0:09Speaker 1: Jackie is whooping it up in Italy Rome where she
- 0:14Speaker 1: now Naples POMPEII. So I can't feel too badly about
- 0:18Speaker 1: the fact that she's not here today because we have really,
- 0:21Speaker 1: really good guests. And I will tell you that I
- 0:27Speaker 1: am so excited. I started watching The Golden Bachelor when
- 0:33Speaker 1: I knew that we were having these ladies on. So
- 0:37Speaker 1: full disclosure, I did not watch it in real time,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and I am so psyched that I watched it. Anybody
- 0:44Speaker 1: who hasn't, I beg of you. I was getting bored
- 0:48Speaker 1: of The Bachelor. The Golden Bachelor is so great, and
- 0:51Speaker 1: so much of it was because of these two women,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and not only their relationships with the Golden Bachelor, but
- 0:59Speaker 1: the relationships that they formed with each other. So having
- 1:04Speaker 1: said that, I would like to introduce you to Susan
- 1:09Speaker 1: Knowles and Kathy Swartz. Hi you guys. I cannot even
- 1:14Speaker 1: tell you how thrilled I am to have you on.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Thank you. We're thrilled to be here.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you. So full disclosure. I was told
- 1:24Speaker 1: that I was having I thought I was having Gary
- 1:28Speaker 1: and Teresa on at the beginning when they first told
- 1:31Speaker 1: me I was going to get and honestly, I have
- 1:34Speaker 1: to be honest with you, I was like, and then
- 1:37Speaker 1: they were like, no, you're wrong, and I was like, yeah, baby,
- 1:41Speaker 1: only because I felt like I both of you. Honestly,
- 1:43Speaker 1: if there were two women that I felt like I
- 1:46Speaker 1: related to and could be friends with, it was absolutely
- 1:51Speaker 1: the two of you. It really really was.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And talk a lot.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I do, I am exactly, and I just there
- 2:00Speaker 1: was something about the way that you all held yourself,
- 2:04Speaker 1: the way maybe the two of you connected, that I
- 2:07Speaker 1: just enjoyed. You were so funny and just so fabulous,
- 2:11Speaker 1: were so real.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I think that's what.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yes, that's exactly right. There is so much that I
- 2:17Speaker 1: want to talk to you about. I honestly, I didn't
- 2:22Speaker 1: watch The Bachelor. I didn't watch The Golden Bachelor in
- 2:26Speaker 1: real time. I watched it now, of course I have,
- 2:32Speaker 1: so of course I have, And I think I didn't
- 2:36Speaker 1: watch it in real time because I was getting a
- 2:39Speaker 1: little tired of the Bachelor. Of course, when I heard
- 2:44Speaker 1: about the Golden Bachelor, I was like, finally, right, Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I was really actually kind of frustrated by the fact
- 2:52Speaker 1: that the Golden Bachelor took so long to come to us.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And I have a single sister and she's now she's
- 3:03Speaker 1: fifty three, but she was like, you know, so annoyed.
- 3:08Speaker 1: She want She's like, I want to be on it.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You know, it would have been I don't know, the
- 3:12Speaker 1: Platinum Bachelor. I don't know what the age range was.
- 3:15Speaker 2: That age was supposed to originally be sixty five and
- 3:18Speaker 2: up and they and they couldn't find enough I guess,
- 3:22Speaker 2: act of whatever reason, so they lowered it to sixty.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So I didn't know that going in.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I thought everybody was sixty five and up and I
- 3:30Speaker 3: was sixty six going on the show. And the first
- 3:33Speaker 3: time we actually saw each other, I was looking around
- 3:36Speaker 3: the hotel getting ready to get in a limbo, and I.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Thought, okay, I feel good. I feel good.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And then I left this way, I go, oh, yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 3: I find out she's sixty.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So what I say, the very great sixty? I thought,
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm seventy, and I thought, oh, I can run the bulls.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I can handle this, right. I saw sixty here, I went, Okay,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I can still run with them. But you know, I'm
- 3:56Speaker 2: ten years older than they are.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So okay, well, let's get real. Okay, you could run
- 4:00Speaker 1: with every single one of those women, and in my
- 4:03Speaker 1: humble opinion, you can outrun them. I was just I.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Will say I did win the pick a ball contest
- 4:10Speaker 2: and I, oh.
- 4:11Speaker 1: My god, unbelievable, unbelievable. So you guys, I felt like
- 4:16Speaker 1: watching this, the real love story was the female friendships.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That to me was the best part. And I will
- 4:24Speaker 1: tell you that the difference between The Bachelor and the
- 4:27Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor was for me, the idea that you guys
- 4:31Speaker 1: connected so differently. You know, these young women. I'm sure
- 4:35Speaker 1: you all felt competitive. I know that you did. Having
- 4:38Speaker 1: said that, there was a whole you did it. There
- 4:41Speaker 1: you go, there's a whole other aspect. You're falling in
- 4:44Speaker 1: love with each other.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing. We've said this. We met each
- 4:50Speaker 2: other when we got to the mansion, and soon after,
- 4:54Speaker 2: when we met Gary, many of us knew within you know,
- 4:57Speaker 2: three or four days, that he was really going to
- 5:00Speaker 2: be our guy. Nice guy, but not for us. So
- 5:03Speaker 2: you know, I can't speak for Susan, but the friendships
- 5:06Speaker 2: became very important. Having fun became important, and I think
- 5:11Speaker 2: that's what people related to us.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Being Yeah, the whole thing was we were not having
- 5:17Speaker 3: any contact with the outside world. The only thing we
- 5:20Speaker 3: could do is get to know one another in the mansion,
- 5:22Speaker 3: right right.
- 5:23Speaker 2: One of the differences is we are of a certain
- 5:27Speaker 2: age and we have been married. I lost my husband
- 5:30Speaker 2: by to suicide, Susan's divorce. We all have children and grandchildren,
- 5:35Speaker 2: so our rich lives. There's a lot of stories and
- 5:39Speaker 2: a lot of heartache and happiness, and so I think
- 5:43Speaker 2: people can relate to that.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Guys, I related to that. I feel like there was
- 5:49Speaker 1: just so much more to talk about. That was so
- 5:54Speaker 1: for at least for me, so much more interesting. You're
- 5:56Speaker 1: bringing into this, you know, your joys, your heartache, the
- 6:00Speaker 1: life that you lived again. I I can sort.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Of say we did not cry or get upset because
- 6:08Speaker 2: we didn't have a one on one, Like, there's bigger
- 6:10Speaker 2: things in life to talk about.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Amen, sisters.
- 6:15Speaker 3: That did get a one on one. We were genuinely happy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I was jealous I didn't get the diamond eariuons if
- 6:21Speaker 2: we're being honest, elans romantic.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Fair and that would have been the thing that got
- 6:25Speaker 1: me fair, very fair.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And it makes people laugh and Gary, I mean I
- 6:32Speaker 3: was sympathetic. Like every Rose ceremony, he cried a lot.
- 6:36Speaker 3: So he's going around the room and I'd go, it's okay, babe,
- 6:38Speaker 3: I got you. Or I'd be like this and he'd
- 6:40Speaker 3: start laughing, and he would always come up to me
- 6:42Speaker 3: later and say, thank you so much.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That means the world to me.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you actually do a good that's pretty good impression. Honestly,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I have to be also, I keep prefacing what I'm
- 6:55Speaker 1: saying with I have to be honest because I don't always.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I try to be real and I'm hoping that it
- 6:59Speaker 1: comes off as kind. This may not, but it will.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Let you guys, he is a gorgeous, gorgeous sweet man,
- 7:07Speaker 1: but he is a goofy mother like I'm sorry.
- 7:13Speaker 2: He had no game. So let me just say we
- 7:16Speaker 2: we shared a room. There were four of us in
- 7:18Speaker 2: our room. After the first after start down to four
- 7:23Speaker 2: and we literally looked at each other that after I
- 7:26Speaker 2: said two or three days and we said, okay, what
- 7:28Speaker 2: do y'all think? And we kind of all away to
- 7:30Speaker 2: your laugh and start laughing.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Growth he has no game, no way we would run
- 7:35Speaker 3: circles around them.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We love him dearly, don't get us wrong.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he listened, I felt the same way. I was like,
- 7:42Speaker 1: this is the sweetest man.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And I don't want to wander around cornfields. That is
- 7:47Speaker 2: not how I'm going to spend this last.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Chapter a month exactly. So you guys, you did know
- 7:52Speaker 1: that because it did seem like you were into him.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Well it seemed like everyone was into him. But you know, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I mean again, gorgeous man.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Really truly his eyes and his smile.
- 8:07Speaker 1: To die for the first one.
- 8:09Speaker 3: On what first meeting that we had a few minutes together,
- 8:13Speaker 3: he really paid attention to what you were saying.
- 8:15Speaker 2: He was very genuine.
- 8:16Speaker 3: He was trying his hard as to learn one. And
- 8:20Speaker 3: I looked up and said, well, maybe I could give
- 8:22Speaker 3: this guy a shot. Let me see, you know. So
- 8:25Speaker 3: it was a process.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Okay, So for me right off the bat it was Teresa,
- 8:32Speaker 2: Teresa Teresa. People would say, what did you talk about,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and I'd rolled my eyes and say, I mean that
- 8:37Speaker 2: I left that show. He knew no more about me
- 8:40Speaker 2: when I got there than when I left. Everyone deserves
- 8:45Speaker 2: love everyone everyone, And I will tell you honestly, I
- 8:50Speaker 2: am envious of that Jeey just ended. I am envious
- 8:56Speaker 2: of the process when it works, and and you find
- 9:00Speaker 2: that love. Susan and I we make jokes about it,
- 9:03Speaker 2: but we both are looking for love. And if anyone's listening,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'll move back to New England.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a list for you, guys, so we'll
- 9:14Speaker 1: talk about that off air. But I honestly, I just
- 9:19Speaker 1: I don't really feel bad for either one of you.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Why don't you like, get on one of these dumb
- 9:23Speaker 1: ass online dating really.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Dating apps? You know what I get? I get thirty
- 9:30Speaker 2: five and forty year olds and I write back and
- 9:33Speaker 2: tell them I have children older than you. Move on.
- 9:36Speaker 1: But look at that, getting thirty five and forty year olds.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I mean, you're both gorgeous and you're charismatic everything. And listen,
- 9:44Speaker 1: there've got to be divorced guys, guys, widows looking for you.
- 9:48Speaker 2: They're looking for fifty year old.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Kathy doesn't believe anybody would look at her because of
- 9:54Speaker 3: the number.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I don't believe.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I don't either. I don't agree.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I didn't say I don't believe. I said. It hasn't
- 10:02Speaker 2: happened yet.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It hasn't happened yet. This was interesting to me because
- 10:06Speaker 1: there was a lot of talk of sex on the show.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Now I am again I'm fifty five years old. I'm
- 10:11Speaker 1: a little younger than you, guys, but it is not
- 10:14Speaker 1: that freaking important to me. I mean maybe it is
- 10:16Speaker 1: to you guys. What is enough already?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Because we've learned how to take care of ourselves, so
- 10:22Speaker 3: it is exactly.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm married again twenty five years. I'm taking care of myself, right.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I mean, wait a minute, wait a minute.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I got something special for Kathy's birthday next month.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Just say, does it buzz?
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah?
- 10:37Speaker 1: I mean nice.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I'll take the cake with the icing, please, thank you, exactly,
- 10:42Speaker 2: get me one of those. Here's what I say, Fina, honest,
- 10:45Speaker 2: as we get older, for me, I can't speak for
- 10:48Speaker 2: the world that i'd like to. She does, though, it
- 10:51Speaker 2: is exactly different as you get older, absolutely, and I
- 10:56Speaker 2: want to find the guy that I want to wake
- 10:57Speaker 2: up next to unless he snorts and then he's out
- 10:59Speaker 2: of there. We can have our own rus at this point,
- 11:01Speaker 2: you know, yes, But I'm just saying I want the
- 11:04Speaker 2: guy those things Matt passionate, sex, great, I'd love it,
- 11:09Speaker 2: But I want to find the guy who wants to
- 11:12Speaker 2: travel and have fun and cook with me, really cook
- 11:15Speaker 2: for me. No, Kathy does not cook.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I said that I don't either. I don't either. Well
- 11:21Speaker 1: you'll need to now you're Susan.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And you batted for the other team. I don't either,
- 11:25Speaker 2: but if we did, we'd be a matchman.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, one hundred percent seriously, because what I
- 11:31Speaker 1: want now? And again, I mean, we have a nice
- 11:34Speaker 1: sex life, but it's not it's certainly not the priority.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It does not what holds us together.
- 11:39Speaker 3: You know what I missed the most makeout session, Like
- 11:42Speaker 3: there's nothing better than.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Oh god, really, i've gotten older. I don't wan anyone's
- 11:46Speaker 1: tied in my mouth?
- 11:47Speaker 2: You now still need Okay, you go do that. I'm good.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I want to watch.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure you are. I have no doubt
- 11:54Speaker 1: about that with either one of you. You're probably wonderful kissers.
- 11:57Speaker 1: But I don't know it's yes, I mean.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That because you're married. Is that why?
- 12:02Speaker 1: I don't know? I mean, I'm just over it. You know,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I've kissed enough. It's like I love kissing my husband,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but I don't need to open my mouth. Let's not
- 12:11Speaker 1: get crazy.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Well, you know that freedom and if he wants, you
- 12:18Speaker 2: know what you tell him, honey, I would, but COVID
- 12:20Speaker 2: is still a thing.
- 12:24Speaker 1: He doesn't want me to. He doesn't want my tongue
- 12:27Speaker 1: in his mouth either anymore. We're over it. But like
- 12:31Speaker 1: you know, I heard you guys listen to mel Robbins.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Ever have you heard of her? She's like the sage.
- 12:36Speaker 1: She's all over Instagram and she's one of the sort
- 12:39Speaker 1: of like a life coach. But anyway, she said something
- 12:41Speaker 1: on Valentine's Today. She said, you know, I don't want
- 12:44Speaker 1: to be madly in love anymore. I want to be
- 12:47Speaker 1: peacefully in love. I don't need to be you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I used to crave the spark. My husband and I
- 12:53Speaker 1: were separated for about a year and a half, and
- 12:55Speaker 1: I won't bore you with the details of that, but
- 12:57Speaker 1: I think I at the time I was looking for
- 12:59Speaker 1: a spark. Now it sparks me. Is this peaceful, kind,
- 13:04Speaker 1: fabulous man who treats me.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Well, that's what I want to find, the guy who
- 13:12Speaker 2: really wants to be with me and enjoy a walk
- 13:16Speaker 2: on the beach and holding hands and sitting you know,
- 13:19Speaker 2: sunsets have fun and travel and it's not about that.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I think you fall in love, you fall in lust,
- 13:28Speaker 2: But I'll be the long term love guilty.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Many times, you're still there. Yeah, and I.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Used to think that was love. I really did.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Now, yeah, so did.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I took me a long time to figure it out.
- 13:41Speaker 2: It was twenty so you know my experience is very different.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yes, of course. And I want for my daughter. My
- 13:49Speaker 1: daughter is twenty one, and I'm constantly saying to her,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you know, she's always in love, she's in love with
- 13:55Speaker 1: the new guy every month, but I want her when
- 13:58Speaker 1: she makes her final choice. So important to not only
- 14:01Speaker 1: feel it in your heart, but you're conscious of it. Yes, right.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Every day.
- 14:09Speaker 3: About the red flags, don't think they're yellow. They're red
- 14:13Speaker 3: for a reason and nothing.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Susan always says, Oh, but they're all yellow flags and
- 14:18Speaker 2: are like, no, Susan, A red flag is a red fight.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You're not going to make it a white flag. And
- 14:24Speaker 2: here's my advice I got I all often give. When
- 14:27Speaker 2: a man shows you who he is the first.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Time, believe him. Amen. But now we're old enough right
- 14:35Speaker 1: to understand that. Right, we don't have to make the
- 14:38Speaker 1: same stupid.
- 14:39Speaker 2: We will not settle. We've talked about this.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I'm not I mean, nobody's going to be perfect at
- 14:46Speaker 3: this age, look wise or you know certain this or that,
- 14:50Speaker 3: But we know what we need right and what we're
- 14:53Speaker 3: looking for, what's going to make us happy and what
- 14:55Speaker 3: we have the all.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And it's very different from when I was young, when
- 14:59Speaker 2: we rea, you know, some that would make a good father,
- 15:03Speaker 2: you know, build a life with, buy homes with, and
- 15:07Speaker 2: raise kids with. Now that's just not it. It's about last.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I would want to And
- 15:18Speaker 1: you know the Bachelor watching these young women and it
- 15:22Speaker 1: is so much about the lust and about looking for
- 15:24Speaker 1: the good father and so boring. I'm so bored with it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: That's why I stop watching it, you know.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And Joey season that was spectacular.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't even I don't think I watched Joey's season.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Jennifer. If you don't watch any event watching the last,
- 15:41Speaker 2: watch the final rows because it will spoil it for you.
- 15:45Speaker 2: The two women who are left at the end, they
- 15:48Speaker 2: come together for the last roast ceremony and when the
- 15:51Speaker 2: one leaves self eliminates, she takes her to the car.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It's women in fact.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Oh oh my god, I'm writing it down. This is
- 15:58Speaker 1: Joey season. Yeah, just all right, okay.
- 16:01Speaker 2: That's ending. Ever, It's okay. It's been there for women
- 16:07Speaker 2: and that's.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Right, I love.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That was priceless.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Okay, you know it's interesting for me. I I'd done
- 16:15Speaker 1: two seasons of the Real Housewives, so but I was
- 16:18Speaker 1: fifty three years old when some two years ago whatever,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm fifty five now when I started filming for them,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and I was a fan. You know, I've watched The
- 16:28Speaker 1: Housewives for years and years and years, and you guys
- 16:31Speaker 1: obviously watched The Bachelor. I mean that must have been
- 16:35Speaker 1: so surreal to be going into that experience, and you know,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I for me, I would picture myself as a housewife.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Did you picture yourselves? You know, even watching these young people,
- 16:49Speaker 1: did you picture yourselves doing it?
- 16:51Speaker 2: I was like the mansion. Oh, I remember the first
- 16:56Speaker 2: roast ceremony and there saying this is surreal. I am
- 17:00Speaker 2: standing with so many have come before me, and a
- 17:02Speaker 2: lot younger. But it was fun to stand up. Now.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I remember that grows ceremonies, still standing on those heels
- 17:10Speaker 3: and it was seven point thirty in the morning, and
- 17:13Speaker 3: I'm like, they need chairs. I want to take my shoes.
- 17:17Speaker 2: All love takes Kyle.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It takes Kyle, honestly, I thought though, and those are
- 17:22Speaker 1: the comments. I want to take my shoes with that
- 17:23Speaker 1: one woman at the first in the first ceremony that
- 17:26Speaker 1: was sleeping. I thought I would die. Oh my god,
- 17:30Speaker 1: the best, the best, the best. I want to share
- 17:40Speaker 1: something with you, guys. There was a lot of talk
- 17:43Speaker 1: of hope and of inspiration. So I'm probably the only
- 17:47Speaker 1: person that felt this way because I'm a cynic. But
- 17:50Speaker 1: it annoyed me a little. And I'm going to tell
- 17:53Speaker 1: you why.
- 17:54Speaker 2: What I love.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you I I it did, and
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'll tell you why because it was pat to me.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It was like a little bit like, oh now, all
- 18:03Speaker 1: of a sudden, I can have hope. And for me,
- 18:07Speaker 1: it was like sort of assumption that women of a
- 18:12Speaker 1: certain age shouldn't have hope.
- 18:14Speaker 2: And it is exactly It is exactly the opposite people
- 18:18Speaker 2: tell me. In my opinion, it's exactly the opposite. You're
- 18:22Speaker 2: not quite old enough yet. As people get older, we
- 18:27Speaker 2: feel and women out there that have written into us,
- 18:29Speaker 2: that stop us in airports say things like this, I'd
- 18:33Speaker 2: given up hope. I thought my life was over. So
- 18:37Speaker 2: I get the cynicism, but I really do believe that
- 18:42Speaker 2: this show has brought people, women, men hope because they
- 18:47Speaker 2: don't feel like their life is over and I think
- 18:49Speaker 2: that's a great message.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I think one of the things are they give up
- 18:52Speaker 3: on themselves. They don't feel special anymore, they don't feel important.
- 18:55Speaker 2: They're done raising kids.
- 18:56Speaker 3: They're MEM's or my moms or whatever you want to
- 18:59Speaker 3: They don't take care of them, and they don't they
- 19:01Speaker 3: stop doing for themselves. That message is, yes, you're still important, right,
- 19:06Speaker 3: you still you got to make yourself.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Happy, right, and you are value, You have something to say,
- 19:12Speaker 2: you have a life to live. We're all in. We
- 19:15Speaker 2: keep saying the last chapter, it's going to be the
- 19:17Speaker 2: best last chapter, but we have to make it that way.
- 19:20Speaker 2: No one's coming to the door to do a perfect point.
- 19:22Speaker 2: It's what you make that's right.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Right, you know what it is. I have a lot
- 19:26Speaker 1: of friends that are around my age and younger, and
- 19:30Speaker 1: I see them after divorce.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Say it again, any single men out there.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm going yes, but I'm talking about my female friends,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and I'm talking about the fact that after you know,
- 19:40Speaker 1: they're not in their seventies necessarily, they're in their sixties,
- 19:44Speaker 1: they're in their fifties, and they've also given up hope.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So for me, it was like, I don't know, it
- 19:49Speaker 1: just felt to me like the message was come back
- 19:53Speaker 1: to life. And I hope that women of your age,
- 19:55Speaker 1: like you had a life before you had a romance
- 19:59Speaker 1: with Gary, you know what I mean, and probably more
- 20:01Speaker 1: of one, I hope than maybe some of my friends
- 20:04Speaker 1: who have also given up. I don't know. I just
- 20:06Speaker 1: think there's that we get labeled as we get older,
- 20:11Speaker 1: we'll get them going okay, okay, honestly me too. You guys,
- 20:16Speaker 1: you don't understand. I'm starstruck.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I want tequila.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I am, yes, tequila, please, Absolutely, I'm starstruck by the
- 20:23Speaker 1: both of you. I am. But you know, part of
- 20:26Speaker 1: that for me is that there's this agism and I
- 20:31Speaker 1: think that I keep saying it, but it was getting
- 20:34Speaker 1: to me with The Bachelor, but it's everywhere. It's not
- 20:36Speaker 1: just the Bachelor, right, So even on my show on
- 20:41Speaker 1: the Housewives, they keep getting they kind of refresh the
- 20:45Speaker 1: franchises with younger women. And that's okay, listen, they know
- 20:50Speaker 1: their audience certainly better than I do. But I feel
- 20:54Speaker 1: like it's women of a certain age are just more
- 20:57Speaker 1: interesting and.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Ask you just real quickly, when when you talk to
- 21:03Speaker 2: a twenty or thirty year old, the first thing out
- 21:06Speaker 2: of your mouth is not Wow, you look good for
- 21:09Speaker 2: your age. But with Susan and me, how many people
- 21:12Speaker 2: say to us, wow, you're seventy or sixty seven, you
- 21:15Speaker 2: look so great. Fear age. That is what we're trying
- 21:18Speaker 2: to get dismissed. That philosophy, that that theory, that you
- 21:22Speaker 2: stating yourself right, I mean, that's not even so. I
- 21:25Speaker 2: think that's that's it's a bigger issue, I think than
- 21:28Speaker 2: people are really willing to to admit.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I think we're more entertaining because we're raw, because of
- 21:35Speaker 3: our species.
- 21:36Speaker 2: We say it like it is, and I think people
- 21:39Speaker 2: enjoy that.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Wow, you don't give a shit anymore. That's the
- 21:42Speaker 1: beauty of aging. You don't care, you're over it. What
- 21:45Speaker 1: people think?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Really, what did either you or I ever give a
- 21:50Speaker 2: shit with the thought?
- 21:52Speaker 3: Yes, yeah when I was younger, almost definitely yes.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Okay, well guess what now you don't And I know
- 21:59Speaker 1: that because well I don't know this about well, I
- 22:02Speaker 1: know I believe you both, And again, that is for me,
- 22:05Speaker 1: been the beauty of aging. The first thing is that
- 22:07Speaker 1: I stopped giving a ship. But let me say this, Kathy,
- 22:11Speaker 1: when you told Teresa to zip it, I was like, please,
- 22:16Speaker 1: thank you finally this she needs to zip it. I'm sorry.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I hope this never gets back to her because she's
- 22:22Speaker 1: a wonderful sweet woman. You'll never tell and I hope
- 22:27Speaker 1: she never listens. And if you do, Teresa, I'm sorry again.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Adorable sweet, but you needed to zip it. It was obnoxious, right,
- 22:37Speaker 1: she did need.
- 22:37Speaker 2: To zip it. But I'm from Boston, and you know
- 22:40Speaker 2: I grew up in a big family. When you save
- 22:42Speaker 2: zipper or I'm from it's it's like, come on, zip it,
- 22:45Speaker 2: move along, get it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: There are a lot worse things you could say.
- 22:48Speaker 2: In the Midwest, which I think is what Gary was
- 22:51Speaker 2: called that. I told her to zip it and I.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Was like, what no, But it was so obnoxious. It
- 22:57Speaker 1: was like she was it was. I was shocked.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I was like, we see you. Yeah.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I watched it, honey. The last scene in the what
- 23:06Speaker 1: is it called, the Fantasy Suite, the lipstick of it all?
- 23:08Speaker 1: I couldn't what was that? Why didn't the producer stop it?
- 23:12Speaker 1: I couldn't even watch. It was like all over him
- 23:15Speaker 1: and it was all over her.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Can we go back for one second and please full
- 23:20Speaker 3: honors for this? Teresa wore this bright red lipstick?
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and I didn't miss that.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Did you notice it turned softer pink? You're welcome, Teresa? Really,
- 23:31Speaker 3: what the hell lose the lipstick? Tersa, It was so bad.
- 23:36Speaker 2: But that's I know that we did for each other,
- 23:39Speaker 2: you know, I did.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I love that. So let's get.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Susan said to her, sweetie, you need to change your
- 23:46Speaker 2: lipstick color, and not Teresa.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so, but I appreciate that. Listen if someone told
- 23:54Speaker 1: me to change my lipstick color, or you're being obnoxious
- 23:57Speaker 1: as opposed to when I was a young, insecure idiot,
- 24:00Speaker 1: but now I feel God, thank you, thank you, thank
- 24:02Speaker 1: you for telling me you had.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Heart today compared to the show.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Honestly, honestly, that is the thing. I agree. I agree, well,
- 24:11Speaker 1: she has a hairdresser best friend.
- 24:13Speaker 2: But to be fair on the show, I mean we
- 24:16Speaker 2: were lucky to her hair washed and any makeup on you.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So fair.
- 24:22Speaker 2: But people do in that vein, people do stop us
- 24:25Speaker 2: all the time and say, wow, you're so pretty in
- 24:30Speaker 2: person in person, like what was like chopped liver on
- 24:33Speaker 2: the show.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Apparently, no, you were not. You were both gorgeous, but yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 1: like there was a difference, subtle difference and not with
- 24:40Speaker 1: all of the women when you came on the Women
- 24:42Speaker 1: Tell All, I was like, they look good that you
- 24:46Speaker 1: really did.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I mean I had more than five hours of sleep, yeah.
- 24:50Speaker 1: And you had more than five hours of sleep. And
- 24:51Speaker 1: by the way, Teresa too, she came on and for
- 24:54Speaker 1: the fun. I was like, nice hair, nice light lipstick.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I don't see it running off into your cheeks. Well done,
- 25:02Speaker 1: very sweet woman, Terresa. I'm sorry, very very sweet, lovely,
- 25:05Speaker 1: lovely pretty.
- 25:06Speaker 3: We do we love, yes, yeah, us, but we do
- 25:11Speaker 3: love every.
- 25:13Speaker 1: They love you. Believe me. I'm looking at you guys,
- 25:23Speaker 1: with your own podcast right and with your own celebrity,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and you are moving in ways that I don't know
- 25:34Speaker 1: that you ever imagined at this point in your life.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But to me, that's the best. And by the way,
- 25:38Speaker 1: who's ever listening Bachelor Happy Hour, Golden Hour? Tune in?
- 25:43Speaker 1: So that is the ladies new podcast. But to have
- 25:47Speaker 1: that kind of a turnaround, now, do you feel it up?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Do you feel like this is extraordinary? How my life
- 25:55Speaker 1: has changed?
- 25:55Speaker 3: Were like running with the bulls and ready, yes, love
- 26:00Speaker 3: every minute of it.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But I yes, I never If we're being honest, a
- 26:04Speaker 2: year ago, we didn't think I hadn't even applied for
- 26:08Speaker 2: the Bachelor. But I feel like this is Susan says
- 26:12Speaker 2: it all the time. You put out what you want
- 26:15Speaker 2: in the universe and it comes or a manifestation. It's
- 26:19Speaker 2: a manifestation of what you want. I am happier than
- 26:23Speaker 2: I've ever been in my life. People people ask me,
- 26:26Speaker 2: they said, what would your husband say? I was like,
- 26:28Speaker 2: I wouldn't have done this if my husband were.
- 26:32Speaker 1: This.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Would I have him back in a heartbeat if I could. Yes,
- 26:36Speaker 2: But this is the best life. It's done us today,
- 26:39Speaker 2: and it's about and where we go from here. We're
- 26:41Speaker 2: loving every minute of it and putting ourselves first, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 2: for once.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys, you are the love story, not just
- 26:48Speaker 1: the two of you. I'm sure you made other close friends, but.
- 26:54Speaker 2: A couple not even well, I'm sorry.
- 26:56Speaker 1: To hear that. I mean, honestly, it would be wouldn't
- 26:59Speaker 1: that be just the best? That would have been another
- 27:02Speaker 1: type of love story. But it doesn't matter because you
- 27:05Speaker 1: found each other. And I think to myself, these two
- 27:08Speaker 1: can travel together, they can support each other.
- 27:13Speaker 2: But we went to Saint Martin with Nancy from the show.
- 27:15Speaker 2: We had really best vacation ever. We had a blast.
- 27:20Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean that's what I would want. We'd
- 27:23Speaker 1: got older, yes.
- 27:24Speaker 2: And day with some things right right now?
- 27:28Speaker 3: I you know, taught Kathy how to shop what she
- 27:31Speaker 3: used to hate to do.
- 27:32Speaker 2: She will, Malee, if you give me a choice, do
- 27:36Speaker 2: you want to go shopping or do you want to
- 27:39Speaker 2: go hike? Six miles? Oh god, six mile hike? No
- 27:43Speaker 2: question asked anything. Don't make me shop.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Get the hell out of here. You had no inter
- 27:50Speaker 1: as a hike. Well, Susan, did you now hike? Are you?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Did you come?
- 27:54Speaker 2: I can walk? Wait? Listen. She came to Austin. My
- 27:58Speaker 2: son got married two weeks ago, and.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Susan was thev you officiated it?
- 28:04Speaker 2: I did, and she didn't know what Mozeltov manter living
- 28:11Speaker 2: under you've been living in the Italian spaghetti one Muto.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I took her off for a walk and I videoed
- 28:21Speaker 2: it in my pajama bottoms. She was dying, but she
- 28:24Speaker 2: did it. That's the thing. I'm a big exercise girl,
- 28:27Speaker 2: and I'm going to get her to wait a minute,
- 28:29Speaker 2: but just step back. Now. I'm going to call you
- 28:31Speaker 2: on that I was dying. You were like you better
- 28:34Speaker 2: slow down, Susan. I can't believe O. You love me.
- 28:37Speaker 2: You're doing so good. I was not dying. I did wow,
- 28:42Speaker 2: how did you get? I just got to call you out, Achilles?
- 28:45Speaker 2: So I can't walk as fast, trust me, I'll leave
- 28:48Speaker 2: her in the dust. Well I'm not saying you couldn't,
- 28:51Speaker 2: but don't say I was struggling. I did it.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Listen you, guys, My mom is eighty one, soon to
- 28:57Speaker 1: be eighty two. I'm not even making it up to
- 28:59Speaker 1: the woman runs five miles a day. I promise you
- 29:03Speaker 1: it's no. She used to swim one hundred and fifty
- 29:05Speaker 1: laps her whole life, and she literally, not just figuraly
- 29:09Speaker 1: could run circles around me. Because I don't want to
- 29:12Speaker 1: go hiking. I don't want to go running. I want
- 29:14Speaker 1: to sit on my fat ass.
- 29:16Speaker 2: That's it, gross, Mom. I don't know. I just I
- 29:19Speaker 2: can't keep up the strong like a bullet.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I love that. I mean, I know how important it
- 29:24Speaker 1: is right as we age, but I just.
- 29:26Speaker 2: All of that balance and strength. It's it's hard. You know,
- 29:30Speaker 2: anyone who's listening. It's never too late to get up
- 29:33Speaker 2: off the sofa and start working out. Do it?
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I keep telling myself that I really
- 29:37Speaker 1: really do. So you guys, what, like, what are the
- 29:42Speaker 1: plans in terms of like, because I do see you
- 29:44Speaker 1: as like you've really hit the pinnacle. You have this
- 29:47Speaker 1: fabulous relationship, you on you're on the show, you have
- 29:50Speaker 1: a podcast. At this point, is it really important to
- 29:52Speaker 1: you or is that really your focus finding a guy?
- 29:56Speaker 2: I mean, it's in amongst what we want to do.
- 30:00Speaker 2: But you know what, if it happens, you can't plan that.
- 30:03Speaker 3: That's right right, it would be great, but right now,
- 30:06Speaker 3: in this moment, it would get in the way.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Right now, I think, oh my god, I love that.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Wait all right, if he's waiting outside for you're going
- 30:15Speaker 3: to leave me, Dad, I.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Was gonna say, Kathy will dump you like a bad
- 30:18Speaker 1: habit freaking.
- 30:22Speaker 2: What I'm going to say, thank you all ver much?
- 30:24Speaker 2: Is I'm a really good multitasker. Yeah, I can do it.
- 30:28Speaker 2: We can juggle there.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I believe it. I believe it. I just want to
- 30:33Speaker 1: tell you, guys, Unfortunately, and I'm heartbroken, we have to
- 30:36Speaker 1: wrap up, but I want to tell you that opening
- 30:39Speaker 1: up for me, opening up about the things things like
- 30:42Speaker 1: your husband's suicide, about divorce, you know that what you've
- 30:47Speaker 1: been through your journey, I was so touched by that.
- 30:50Speaker 1: That's real, right, And I just don't want to hear
- 30:52Speaker 1: about people's sad stories. But it's so easy to fall
- 30:58Speaker 1: in love with you guys because you're so honest and
- 31:02Speaker 1: you're ready to show the world I've been through stuff, right,
- 31:05Speaker 1: And for me, it's so much more interesting than watching
- 31:10Speaker 1: these twenty somethings thirty somethings. And I mean, I want
- 31:14Speaker 1: to end with that, it's not going to.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Be weak to make her prime, but I just want
- 31:18Speaker 2: to say that I love that you're saying that because
- 31:21Speaker 2: having a platform so that these tabloo subjects, that's part
- 31:25Speaker 2: of what it means for me. Part of this whole
- 31:27Speaker 2: process for me is is people feeling better about being
- 31:31Speaker 2: able to talk about those things. Yes, that's important to me,
- 31:35Speaker 2: it really is.
- 31:37Speaker 1: And me too, guy to travel with, Yeah, me too.
- 31:41Speaker 1: So lastly, I'm I'm annoyed about a lot. But another
- 31:45Speaker 1: thing I'm annoyed about is who is about? Why is
- 31:47Speaker 1: it taking so long for them to find about track?
- 31:50Speaker 1: Because I have a theory that it's because it's harder
- 31:52Speaker 1: to round up men because they're.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Like, that's what they all thought that, but they don't
- 31:56Speaker 3: let that secret out. They may know at this point
- 31:58Speaker 3: in time who it's going to be, but they don't
- 32:00Speaker 3: share it with you.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Well it's not I'm sure they do know. I mean,
- 32:03Speaker 1: it could be so many of you. But I wonder
- 32:06Speaker 1: if it's a if it's a male thing, and I
- 32:08Speaker 1: don't know that the man will bond. I doubt it
- 32:10Speaker 1: like the women did.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Yeah, the thing that every time we've done interviews, they
- 32:14Speaker 2: ask us, would you with the Golden Maps? And I
- 32:17Speaker 2: respond every time with the same answer, I would. I
- 32:20Speaker 2: have a great experience. I would do this show again
- 32:22Speaker 2: in a heartbeat. But truly, I don't think they could
- 32:25Speaker 2: find twenty two guys who could keep up with me.
- 32:27Speaker 2: And I mean that I just don't.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I think you're probably right, and I think would be
- 32:31Speaker 1: way more awkward. And that's again that's for another show.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Just the difference between you know, men your age and
- 32:39Speaker 1: you guys and the women me too actually, And I'm
- 32:42Speaker 1: wondering are they ever going to do one that's for
- 32:45Speaker 1: fifty somethings late forties to sety.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Are the writers? Yes, I have right, you know, I
- 32:51Speaker 2: mean I have it all, all of.
- 32:53Speaker 1: It LGBT, Yes, fabulous.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I think it's a little more complicated you know, when
- 32:58Speaker 2: you've got young kids in that age range. But I
- 33:01Speaker 2: think that is a whole other avenue that I.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Know, like forties, like not young kids, like even forty
- 33:06Speaker 1: five to sixty. Yeah, something like that. I don't know.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Like people have careers. You know, Let's face it, when
- 33:12Speaker 2: they say I'm a therapist and they come on the show,
- 33:15Speaker 2: you're not a therapist because you what do you say
- 33:17Speaker 2: to your clients see in the year, I mean, you
- 33:19Speaker 2: can't do that?
- 33:21Speaker 1: So well, how long was it filling.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Away from your job? So that's hard.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's a month, six weeks.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Who can leave their profession for six weeks? Not everybody,
- 33:31Speaker 3: so it would be hard.
- 33:32Speaker 1: You'll find women, though, I bet you would know the
- 33:37Speaker 1: men too, right right, All you need is one. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: don't know. I like it this way. I like it
- 33:41Speaker 1: with the group of women. I like to see them bond.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But you, guys, I have to tell you, I love
- 33:45Speaker 1: and adore you. I want us to be friends. I'm
- 33:48Speaker 1: almost begging. So we're going to exchange numbers. I hope
- 33:51Speaker 1: we'll get.
- 33:51Speaker 2: By the first drink.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I'll do the meal, really, okay, the drink is more
- 33:56Speaker 1: important to me personally. But I heard that is.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It a Jewish thing that is a hundred.
- 34:02Speaker 1: It's a Jewish thing. Maybe the thing is though, I
