- 0:57Welcome to the Underground Studio.
- 0:59I'm truck them out. This is my Rd.
- 1:02I don't own much. I own the road.
- 1:05OK, Stay out of my way. I just turned 60, OK?
- 1:09I'm in the fourth quarter of this.
- 1:11So truck them out to run you over.
- 1:13You know who I'm talking about. All right, So, hey, today we're
- 1:17going to talk about military enlistment.
- 1:22Why did people listen to the military?
- 1:24OK, there's a lot of different reasons people do it.
- 1:28Trucker mouth looked into and look into it and talk about it.
- 1:31But before I do, I'm going to do a segment called Rd.
- 1:35Buckle up America, it's time for some road rage with trucker
- 1:40mouth. Let's hit the open Rd.
- 1:45OK, I just got my road rage back.
- 1:48All right, So I'm going to do, I'm going to talk about what
- 1:50everybody's talking about. The whole damn world is the Fort
- 1:53Hood shooter, OK, the Fort Hood shooter, the Fort Hood shooter
- 1:59on and it's coming up on 17 years, November 5th to be 17
- 2:04years that this asshole went in that processing center and shot
- 2:1013 people, wounded 30, two others.
- 2:16OK, this bastard is getting ready to pay his dues right now.
- 2:24So at the door anyway. Yeah, since the asshole is
- 2:29getting ready to pay his dues and truck a mouse all over.
- 2:32See, I did a show. I did a show last last week or
- 2:38so that I talked about him and and and and and what it was was
- 2:47what it was was he went into a red in this processing center on
- 2:52post at Fort Hood and opened fire using the handgun were
- 2:55laser and unarmed soldiers and civilians preparing for
- 2:59deployment, preparing for deployment to go over to
- 3:03Afghanistan and do something for our country, which most people
- 3:07watch this podcast while we use wood, but most people outside of
- 3:10the the MBR family this and that almost say a lot of them would
- 3:15never think about going over and doing anything for the country.
- 3:18They're too worried about, Oh, they took some of my food stamps
- 3:21or this or that. Go to the military, man.
- 3:24Do something, OK? And that's what we're going to
- 3:27explore after I talk about this asshole, OK?
- 3:30He wanted to be a martyr. Don't make him a martyr if you
- 3:34do. That's what I said.
- 3:35I said shoot the ass, shoot the bastard, OK, But don't put it
- 3:39on. Don't put it on national TV
- 3:42'cause he wanted to be a martyr, OK?
- 3:45And, and a survivor of the mass of the Fort Hood shooting.
- 3:49Alonzo Lunsford, a Sergeant at the time who was shot 7 times
- 3:56and lived. He played dead.
- 3:58OK. He played dead till he could.
- 3:59Then he drug. Then he drug other people out to
- 4:03safety when he could. OK this man's a hero.
- 4:07If you wouldn't have been shot 7 times he might have retired as
- 4:11AE8E9. But this ass so I'm sure to
- 4:13being shot 7 times he probably they won't.
- 4:17They probably had to retire out of military, I don't know.
- 4:20And instead of retired as the staff Sergeant, which is only
- 4:23one grade above the Sergeant. But Alonzo Lunsford, I seen you
- 4:29on TV, brother. And you you're just like me.
- 4:34He the the the four hood shooter wanted to be a martyr.
- 4:39He stated he wanted to be a martyr.
- 4:41Don't make him a martyr, OK? If you put him on national TV
- 4:45and and a firing squad, he's going to be a martyr.
- 4:49Don't do that. Don't make him a martyr.
- 4:51You know what he should be doing in this in this truck and mouse
- 4:55opinion. Execute him at the columns at
- 4:59the memorial at Fort Hood. Fort Hood has memorial and I
- 5:03wasn't there. You have columns down there with
- 5:06people's names on it of the victims of the Fort Hood
- 5:10shooting. And I think he should be he
- 5:12should be tied to more them and shot dead right at the memorial.
- 5:19That's just me and I'm trucker Mouth.
- 5:23And that's the story. He's doing death row at Fort
- 5:26Leavenworth right now. So he he he got his just who's
- 5:29coming and Trucker Mouth called it because we're going to shoot
- 5:37that asshole. I pulled the truck.
- 5:39I already shot. Here we go.
- 5:41Trucker Mouth already shot him. Bastard.
- 5:45Oh, man. OK, so let's get let's get back
- 5:51to let's get to the topic here. I just wanted to weigh in on
- 5:54that because I really got my goat, man.
- 5:56I really got me. So we're going to get back to
- 6:01the to the at hand. Let me try to enlarge my
- 6:10pictures so I can see what see this Roy pisses me off at this.
- 6:14This computer here. OK, I hit something and then and
- 6:25then it'll go somewhere and I can't get back to the damn
- 6:28screen. All right, so that that that
- 6:30that really pisses me off when it happens.
- 6:34Just trying to make it a little bigger so I can see things.
- 6:36But when I make it bigger, I can't see my my screen over
- 6:39here. OK, so I can go to do this route
- 6:45which covers the whole screen, which I could do that for right
- 6:47now. OK, So what we're looking into
- 6:51now is it it is why people listen to military, OK?
- 6:57And there's a lot of different people listen to military ranges
- 7:04from from doing something to your country for your country
- 7:10to, you know, just just learn trying to learn something or get
- 7:16away. And here we go.
- 7:18Let's get down the road here. OK, So military enlistment.
- 7:21Why do people listen to the military?
- 7:23What post 911 veterans say they enlisted to do something for
- 7:29their country, fight for my country.
- 7:32I'm short after 911 them them damn recruiters had no problem
- 7:40people. I'm sure they had no problem
- 7:44recruiting people because they suck us.
- 7:48They snuck us, they sucker punches with them planes at the
- 7:53World Trade Centers. And I actually tried to to go
- 8:00back in myself and I missed it by by hair.
- 8:07It wouldn't take me, but I almost got there.
- 8:10I was in the VA program out in Pittsburgh and I was really
- 8:18healthy. I mean, I wasn't drinking or
- 8:20anything. I was lifting out, working out
- 8:22on the treadmill, lifting weights.
- 8:24I went to recruiter submit, I want to do something and almost
- 8:30got it, but there they go. Maybe it's lucky.
- 8:35Maybe I've been killed or something actually.
- 8:40OK yeah. So post 911 versus they want to
- 8:42do something for the country. They had enough of that.
- 8:45They had enough of people remember, see my radios.
- 8:48They had enough people, you know, sucker punches and this
- 8:52and that and older people died up in New York City between them
- 8:56two towers, there was 100,000 people worked in them.
- 9:00We understand and and we lost more people. 911 we did at Pearl
- 9:05Harbor. So the second thing is we talked
- 9:09to veterans and they were drafted.
- 9:13The Vietnam married veterans were drafted.
- 9:15They you know, they went Well, you know what, they didn't have
- 9:19to go because there's a lot of people that went to Canada, went
- 9:22to Mexico or just ran around 9 States and didn't go.
- 9:25They didn't go to draft back end.
- 9:30I mean, I don't, I, I think I would have went but I wasn't put
- 9:34in that situation when there was a lot of killings.
- 9:36It was on TV every day and I believe I would have went though
- 9:44and get my hammer cause trucker mouth, I got to have this in
- 9:49view at all times cause trucker mouth.
- 9:51Putting the hammer down on the Fort Hood shooter and you're
- 9:54getting your just dudes, you prick, you're dead.
- 9:57We're killing you. We're done.
- 10:02All right, so let me draft. And I bet that was just just
- 10:09terrible, man. So a geographical escape.
- 10:15A lot of veterans just wanted to get away.
- 10:18They wanted to get away from from from their area for what
- 10:23was going on in their lives, whatever.
- 10:25And and my reason for going into the military and that kind of
- 10:31sums up my reason for going to the military.
- 10:34I wanted to, I wanted to get away from here.
- 10:38What I did, what I did. And I live in this town here.
- 10:42The day, the day I left for the Navy, I got in my dad's car.
- 10:46I said that gotta use your car night before night before I went
- 10:49up there. We're coming to get me.
- 10:50Recruits are coming to get me. Take me up here to Harrisburg.
- 10:57And we flew out to Illinois boot camp anyway.
- 11:08I wrote OK, I got in my dad's car and I drove up and down the
- 11:10Main St. in this town for a couple hours straight at night
- 11:13time, just riding up and down the street.
- 11:15I know people were looking at what, because I was sick.
- 11:18I wanted to hate this town. I hate it.
- 11:20I despised it and I wasn't coming back.
- 11:23But I didn't come back. Actually, I yeah, I did come
- 11:28back. I got to watch hanging this
- 11:32year, I guess, because it's, that's what it's made for.
- 11:35Yeah. So I, I, and I wonder, you know,
- 11:38I was in trouble. I was a derelict.
- 11:42I was, I was, I just wanted to really get away and, and just do
- 11:45something for myself because my parents, you know, hated me.
- 11:48I was, I was working in the foundry and all, I was working
- 11:51and all, but I just knew something better had to be out
- 11:54there. And I went to Navy and, and I'm
- 11:59glad I did. And I, you know, I didn't
- 12:01realize what was out there until I went in the military, OK.
- 12:09I didn't realize all the different things you can do in
- 12:12your life until I went in the military and got around, started
- 12:16seeing things. You know, there's a lot of
- 12:22things in the cities and all the people do that, that the people
- 12:25right here will never even think I've heard of doing.
- 12:28Yeah. So I I went in and then I
- 12:32learned some things and all, you know, I got out Navy when I
- 12:36could. I had some, yeah.
- 12:41But anyway, so, so that was my reason for going to the
- 12:45military. I just wanted to get away.
- 12:47I wanted to better myself and all that.
- 12:48And I'm, I'm glad I did. I'm glad I did.
- 12:52Next thing is learn a trade or skill and get some and get some
- 12:58Time Warner about using it. OK, so that's that's that's
- 13:03another one that's a learned trade.
- 13:04You know, you want to go in there.
- 13:05OK, I'm going in to be a a hall tech or something in the Navy.
- 13:09That's pretty much plumber. You learn welding, plumbing, all
- 13:13that and you know, you get time on your belt using it.
- 13:17Can't beat it or whatever else you're going to get into.
- 13:21You know, I inspired to be a radio man because I don't talk
- 13:24on CVS and all growing up and all I wanted to be a radio man
- 13:27going to the military. I didn't qualify for that or
- 13:33sonar tech, but I ended up being an aviation structural mechanic,
- 13:36which I learned. I learned some things, valuable
- 13:38things, and I'm glad I did it. Well, yeah.
- 13:48So take a little break and we come back.
- 13:56More on Oh my God here. Oh yeah, more on the military
- 14:03enlistment and why people do it. The station where our veterans
- 17:06voices are heard. MBR talk.
- 17:10Hey, thanks for supporting our channel by watching and
- 17:12listening find. Us on the.
- 17:14Web at NB radio dot. Hello, everybody, Welcome back
- 17:19to the Trucker Mountain show. All right, so today we're
- 17:23talking about military enlistment and why people do it,
- 17:27why people listen to the military, not a reasons.
- 17:30I have several or there's much more.
- 17:33So we just got done talk about learning a trade or skill.
- 17:36OK, now a place to live. I've talked to some veterans and
- 17:40they just they just you don't need a place to live.
- 17:45They were they were homeless and the one that's in the military
- 17:56and. That's why that's why they went
- 18:03in to me. That's why they went in.
- 18:07I guess I'll blow the screen up again.
- 18:09That's why they went in to a place to live.
- 18:13And I guess all these apply to them.
- 18:16Geographical escape, learn trade, all them.
- 18:21Oh, so OK, so now we got now we've got we're going on next
- 18:30one escape the law from prosecution, drop fines and cost
- 18:34a lot of years ago. You know, you if you went into
- 18:36the military, you go to the justice and pieces and if you
- 18:39had, you know, had some fines on there for like, you know,
- 18:41underage drinker and everything. They just settle steps up when
- 18:44you're when you're young and dumb and what a fight.
- 18:46You know, you feel comfortable over there.
- 18:52I won't be able to see my radios and shit, but anyway, we got my
- 18:55ducks. We got my new backdrop back
- 18:57there, the ball of chains like an Ave. and and the battle axe T
- 19:01yeah, trucker mouth. It's all for my initials.
- 19:04OK, so, yeah, so years ago you go to these justices of pieces
- 19:08and and they would and they would and they would drop the
- 19:10fines across if you went into the military.
- 19:13And no, I doubt you see that anymore, but they did that
- 19:17stuff. And again, I guess also all
- 19:22these a lot of these reasons plus that apply to these people
- 19:26that went in because of that reason.
- 19:29That's a hell of a reason, Gwen. I mean, I had funds cost, but
- 19:32they were all paid off. That's all the probation,
- 19:35everything. And I'm going to.
- 19:36So military family continued tradition, OK.
- 19:41Some people have a military family tradition being in the
- 19:43Army or the Marine Corps or any one of your branches, OK.
- 19:49And mine was mine was Navy. You know, my dad was in the
- 19:52Navy, his dad was in the Navy for a period of time.
- 19:59My uncle was in the Navy, my cousin was in the Navy.
- 20:02My dad's thought and his relatives were in Navy.
- 20:04So we're Navy people, OK, We're Navy men.
- 20:08And funny story about that because now we're not Great
- 20:10Lakes, right? Great Lakes, Illinois from boot
- 20:14camp and all that. After we graduated boot camp, we
- 20:17went in in Chicago. Well, we ended up.
- 20:21We ended up at a VFW or was that an American Legion?
- 20:30He goes, I'm not sure of a VFW American Legion anymore.
- 20:33We went in there because we think we, we, we just the one
- 20:38guy said we can go in here. We went in there and they're
- 20:39like, no, you can't come in here.
- 20:40I remember. But we said we just graduated
- 20:42boot camp and he left us in and they started talking to us and,
- 20:49and we were drunk. I mean, we, we were, we were way
- 20:51out of line, man. We, they like the same because,
- 20:54you know, except we just graduated boot camp and all with
- 20:56the VFW out there in Chicago. And it happened to be that one
- 21:01of the guys there who worked, he was, I guess he was a trustee
- 21:05for the, for the VFW. He was related to my grandfather
- 21:13and I told him like look man and they knew we were drunk.
- 21:15So the other two guys took off, go back try to get catch the
- 21:19bus. I stayed there for some reason
- 21:22my drunk ass stayed as VFW and I don't know why I did that.
- 21:27I guess they caught the bus I didn't.
- 21:30So here I was drunk off my ass in Chicago.
- 21:32I missed the bus going back to the to the Great Lakes and
- 21:35luckily this guy was related to my grandfather.
- 21:39His name was Captain Smith. He was actually captain at the
- 21:41base. He was at caps the he was
- 21:44captain. He was captain of the base for
- 21:48NOB, Great Lakes, IL and the training area and he was ready
- 21:53to my ground for my grandfather's cousin.
- 21:55So he ended up I laid there because I was drunk off my ass
- 21:58drunk. I was drunk and I laid there on
- 22:03the floor drunk off my ass and he was cleaning up and on and I
- 22:06guess he kind of rushed through it because of me and he drove me
- 22:09back to Great Lakes. It was snowing out.
- 22:11It was in December. Wait, wait, wait a minute.
- 22:14We went in and we went in in December and eight weeks
- 22:22February. I guess it was.
- 22:26February and we we and it was snowing out and he took me back
- 22:33and said, look, I remember telling him, look, you can't get
- 22:35on bases and I'm the captain. I said.
- 22:38But you can get on bases. Yeah, I'm the captain.
- 22:41So he took me. Down and dropped me off and he
- 22:46said a couple words to me and he said good luck.
- 22:49I did that. He goes, you're probably in
- 22:50trouble. I said, look, I don't know.
- 22:52He goes, well, that that bus should have waited for all years
- 22:55until everyone is there and they took me out, dropped me off and
- 22:59I went back in and and. I told him.
- 23:04But luckily, luckily, that man was.
- 23:07Because if he wouldn't have done that.
- 23:09For me, my military, my Navy crew went into the right there.
- 23:13They went through me out. Oh, another reason people go in
- 23:19the military is for a job, income, they have nothing.
- 23:22And I guess a lot of these reasons right here, a lot of
- 23:26these reasons right here apply to them.
- 23:29Because if they just. Go in for a job.
- 23:31I mean, they don't have no job. Or don't they go in the
- 23:32military? Hey, that's noble.
- 23:36And then probably all these apply to them.
- 23:38Learn to trade. Just my country place to live.
- 23:43All that. Bottom do bottom probably do
- 23:47man. And you know when you go in the
- 23:49military, you got to be you got to be you're in with a lot of
- 23:57people. OK, I mean it, it's, it's, it's
- 24:00it's a you know, I mean, you're, you're when you first go in your
- 24:05your your boot camp bro, your frontline, you're you're you're
- 24:07you're you're with everybody all the time.
- 24:10So you got to be, you got to be, you know, I ain't certain code
- 24:14nothing. I ain't no recruiter.
- 24:15You got to be a tough individual because you go take a lot of
- 24:18shit from a lot of people. OK.
- 24:20And it it, it, it it's it's like out the whole way through boot
- 24:26camp AIT all that you're all you're living in Group, living
- 24:29in numbers and you got to be able to be someone who can who
- 24:33can live with a lot of people and.
- 24:37And deal with it, I did all right.
- 24:43With it, I come from a smaller area, but you know, I did OK
- 24:49talking about talk and just just great.
- 24:55Just power it off. Whoa.
- 24:58Power off. I just charged.
- 25:02That up, Oh man. So anyway, you know, all these
- 25:10things, all these, all these things, I mentioned that a lot
- 25:13more or more for people that want to enter the military.
- 25:17Like I. Said I tried to go in after I
- 25:19was in that VA rehab out there in.
- 25:24Pittsburgh. BC 10/11/12.
- 25:29It was after 911. I came back from.
- 25:34Florida in 01. Yeah, it.
- 25:40Was way past 01. I'm thinking, I'm not thinking,
- 25:42but it was like 2010, 2011 I I may have, but this far, this
- 25:47close. And I.
- 25:50Came down to it. They had taken me in.
- 25:53That's right. And there's a lot.
- 25:56Of different reasons people do it.
- 25:57I mean, hey Gwen, like I said, learn to trade.
- 26:00You know see the country. Like I said, there's things that
- 26:03I've seen out there to do that I never would have even thought of
- 26:07doing. You know, everybody around here
- 26:09inspires to be and I want to know why this thing power off.
- 26:15I just charged that. Thing out, it dropped but I
- 26:18fixed it. Yeah, anyway.
- 26:25A lot of different. Reasons the, the people, the
- 26:27people who listen to the military, they're all good.
- 26:30They're all good except for that asshole.
- 26:32Fordo. He listened and he was talking
- 26:33to Al Qaeda. How could you do that?
- 26:36He knew them people. He was on that base.
- 26:38He was a major. Oh my God, who knows?
- 26:45He he probably, he probably went in the military to kill, to kill
- 26:48Americans. Who knows?
- 26:51But. Yes, Sir, he deserves a firing
- 26:59squad and a bit of it, you bastard.
- 27:06So. I keep saying so.
- 27:10So yeah, there's a lot of different reasons.
- 27:12We all listen to the military and everyone of them is pretty
- 27:16much good, you know, if you want, if you're down and out,
- 27:19man, you know, go in the military and they see, they see
- 27:22that you're in the military, man.
- 27:23It'll enhance your life. It'll enhance your life.
- 27:25If you can do something for your country and for yourself, that's
- 27:30the reason not to do it. And like I said, then people
- 27:34were going over there in the Fort Hood to defend our country
- 27:37and you wouldn't hear that come out of some of these people's
- 27:39mouths ever. Some of these people, they just
- 27:42want to know what the country can do for them.
