- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:06Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey. HA got a radio show,
- 0:13Speaker 1: you know. Today, I was thinking of what I would
- 0:16Speaker 1: say today and it just dawned on me this way,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and I just want to share this with everybody listening.
- 0:22Speaker 1: You've got to get some help to make it through life.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I cannot imagine where I would be if it was
- 0:29Speaker 1: not for the help of my God, if it wasn't
- 0:33Speaker 1: for his grace and mercy, if I did not have
- 0:36Speaker 1: the ability to lean on him, and all the times
- 0:40Speaker 1: I've had to lean on Him, which has become a
- 0:42Speaker 1: daily basis. I have no idea where I would be,
- 0:46Speaker 1: but clearly I know for a matter of fact, I
- 0:49Speaker 1: would not be here today. You have got to get
- 0:52Speaker 1: some help to get through this thing called life. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: am begging you to look into it. Man, you've got
- 0:58Speaker 1: to form a relationship with God. Without a relationship with God,
- 1:03Speaker 1: this thing called life is daunting at times. I don't
- 1:06Speaker 1: care who you are. I know I'm speaking the truth
- 1:08Speaker 1: right now, because listen, no matter who you are, what
- 1:13Speaker 1: job title you have, what aspirations you may have, I
- 1:17Speaker 1: don't care what your educational background is or is not.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It does not matter if you don't get a real
- 1:24Speaker 1: relationship going on with God. I don't see how you
- 1:26Speaker 1: can make it. So many people are faking in fronting
- 1:29Speaker 1: out here like they got it going on, and you
- 1:32Speaker 1: don't know, and you really don't know how many people
- 1:35Speaker 1: that you think in your neighborhood had it going on
- 1:38Speaker 1: because you saw a car pull up in the driveway,
- 1:40Speaker 1: or they house look bigger, or the grass is cutting nicer,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and you only find out that a foreclosure side on
- 1:47Speaker 1: they house too. See, you don't know. The mask that
- 1:50Speaker 1: people put on to parade around in is for appearance sakes.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So a lot of people you looking at that you
- 1:57Speaker 1: think got it going on, who might be the past
- 2:00Speaker 1: enough success that you on a trace. You got to
- 2:02Speaker 1: be real careful with that because it may not be
- 2:05Speaker 1: as it appears to be. But one thing is for sure,
- 2:08Speaker 1: no matter what's going on in your life, I know
- 2:12Speaker 1: that behind whatever mask I'm wearing, or I realized, no
- 2:17Speaker 1: matter what the appearances may be, that on the other
- 2:21Speaker 1: side of me, I'm gonna be just fine. See, you
- 2:24Speaker 1: may be outwardly people hating on you, talking about you
- 2:29Speaker 1: dragging your name through the mud. Look, man, people can
- 2:32Speaker 1: say stuff about you. Most people talking about you don't
- 2:34Speaker 1: even know you. They just participating in it. You can
- 2:38Speaker 1: have that appearance going on, but behind you, within you,
- 2:42Speaker 1: if you have a relationship with God, it don't matter
- 2:46Speaker 1: because you can be all right. I've seen it get
- 2:49Speaker 1: real stormy on the outside for me, but on the inside,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I just had to feel and I was gonna be
- 2:54Speaker 1: all right. See. That's what the relationship gives you. Man.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It gives you the confidence to know that the things
- 3:00Speaker 1: that you're going through are temporary. That is just the
- 3:04Speaker 1: space that you happen to be in. Like I said
- 3:06Speaker 1: the other day, you got to remember something. The road
- 3:09Speaker 1: to success is always under construction. You might as well
- 3:13Speaker 1: get ready for that if you plan it on changing,
- 3:17Speaker 1: getting better, doing something about your health. If you decide, hey, look,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just would like to live a longer, more prosperous life,
- 3:25Speaker 1: or hey I want to make X amount of dollars,
- 3:27Speaker 1: or hey man, I'm gonna stop staying out in these
- 3:29Speaker 1: streets and I'm gonna come home and treat my family
- 3:31Speaker 1: way they ought to be treated. I don't care what
- 3:33Speaker 1: decision you make when you strike out on that road
- 3:36Speaker 1: to success. It's under construction, partner, that's barrows out there.
- 3:41Speaker 1: There's wide turns, there's detours. You know, it's me and
- 3:45Speaker 1: out there holding signs saying slow down. Sometimes they put
- 3:49Speaker 1: the stop sign up. You got to wait and watch
- 3:51Speaker 1: people go by you on the other side. Then before
- 3:55Speaker 1: you can take off again. You've all been on the
- 3:57Speaker 1: road with construction on it. It can be so frustrating.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And the whole time you on that road. I know
- 4:04Speaker 1: when I'm on the road we can under construction. I'm
- 4:06Speaker 1: always thinking of an alternative path. I ain't ever set
- 4:11Speaker 1: in traffic under construction man, and thought of if I
- 4:15Speaker 1: get off on this exit, where would it take me?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Not knowing, but just man, could I keep moving if
- 4:21Speaker 1: I go that way? That's a dangerous thing sometimes, see,
- 4:24Speaker 1: because oftentimes when we get off the road to success
- 4:28Speaker 1: and we take that other path, we get further and
- 4:31Speaker 1: further off course. Because wasn't no detools signed for that,
- 4:34Speaker 1: Just a decision I made on my own because I
- 4:36Speaker 1: don't like sitting here. Sometimes I don't have the patience
- 4:39Speaker 1: I ought to have, So I've taken some what I
- 4:41Speaker 1: thought might be shortcuts. But I got to tell you something.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Ain't no shortcuts on the road to success. Even the
- 4:47Speaker 1: detourl signs wind up taking you a little bit out
- 4:50Speaker 1: your way. And look background. I remember one time I
- 4:53Speaker 1: was coming from Las Vegas and that was some type
- 4:56Speaker 1: of chemical spill in the truck and you could almost
- 5:02Speaker 1: see the smoke up ahead in very faint. So they
- 5:06Speaker 1: detoreed us through the desert and we had to go
- 5:09Speaker 1: all the way around, and I drove, man like an
- 5:12Speaker 1: hour and a half out of the way. And when
- 5:14Speaker 1: they entered us back on the freeway where we were
- 5:17Speaker 1: to go back to La As soon as I got
- 5:19Speaker 1: it that exit to get back on the freeway, I
- 5:22Speaker 1: looked right there and there the accident was. Now it
- 5:26Speaker 1: was an hour and a half hour forty five all
- 5:29Speaker 1: the way around in that desert to get back to
- 5:32Speaker 1: almost the same place. But it was the best way
- 5:36Speaker 1: to go, because see, that was the route to take.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And that's what you got to understand about trying to
- 5:42Speaker 1: make the right decision to be successful, that the road
- 5:45Speaker 1: to success is always under construction. You're gonna have to
- 5:49Speaker 1: go round a little bit, so quick stop being impatient
- 5:52Speaker 1: with I don't want to go around. I'm gonna go
- 5:53Speaker 1: this way, you go that way if you want to
- 5:55Speaker 1: just follow the detour science. See, because somebody that came
- 5:58Speaker 1: up this road before you have, somebody done travel the
- 6:02Speaker 1: road already and they took the way around, and yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 1: it seemed like it's a longer way, and you want
- 6:08Speaker 1: to make that other decision. But stay on the road
- 6:11Speaker 1: to success. It's under construction, man, that's just the way
- 6:14Speaker 1: it goes. Don't lose your patience and try to create
- 6:17Speaker 1: a shortcut for yourself. I'm gonna go away. Ain't nobody
- 6:20Speaker 1: ever gone way? Hold up, Pardoner, you really think you're
- 6:22Speaker 1: gonna do that? Listen. There's oftentimes a lot of rewards
- 6:26Speaker 1: when you go the least travel path. But the road
- 6:30Speaker 1: to success is the least travel path. That's what you
- 6:33Speaker 1: keep getting mixed up. You keep thinking if you go
- 6:35Speaker 1: another way. No, no, stay on the road to success.
- 6:38Speaker 1: That is the least travel path. It's under construction. You
- 6:42Speaker 1: can go out there with your machete if you want
- 6:45Speaker 1: to talk about cutting new trails. You think the road
- 6:48Speaker 1: to success is under construction, take the other route and
- 6:52Speaker 1: get that machete out and see how long you be
- 6:54Speaker 1: out there trying to cut a path. Sometimes, man, You
- 6:58Speaker 1: just got to stay patient. The road to success has
- 7:01Speaker 1: been traveled before by millions of people in front of you,
- 7:04Speaker 1: everybody that has some setbacks in life. But don't get
- 7:08Speaker 1: off the road to success just because you having some setbacks,
- 7:11Speaker 1: just because you see some orange barrels up, just because
- 7:13Speaker 1: there's some men out there with vest on what they
- 7:16Speaker 1: got to do with you? Everybody, everybody that's trying to
- 7:20Speaker 1: be successful, is on that road. Your relationship with God
- 7:24Speaker 1: helps you guide yourself around the barrels. It helps you
- 7:28Speaker 1: have the patience to go around that way. He gonna
- 7:32Speaker 1: get you back where you gotta be, But you got
- 7:34Speaker 1: to go out there so you can learn some things. See,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you need God to make it in life, because the
- 7:41Speaker 1: road to success is always under construction. He calms you
- 7:45Speaker 1: down when the barrels is up. He lets you know
- 7:48Speaker 1: it's gonna be all right. He rewards you with the
- 7:51Speaker 1: patience to finish because He gonna get you right back
- 7:54Speaker 1: where you need to be and you can get on
- 7:56Speaker 1: which way you is going. Okay, all right, y'all, we're
- 7:58Speaker 1: gonna try that today. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 8:02Speaker 1: Morning Show.
