- 0:45Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Christian Reef
- 0:48Podcast. Today's guest is a content
- 0:51creator. He does like religious content.
- 0:53He's hailing all the way from Jamaica.
- 0:55His name is Delmar Dyer. How you doing man?
- 0:58I'm working. Thanks for having me in issue.
- 1:02Oh, it's a pleasure, man. It's a pleasure.
- 1:05I think you you might be the second Jamaican I've had on the
- 1:08show over the years. Certainly not the first.
- 1:11Yeah, second, first, first one was actually the first year of
- 1:14the show. I had a Jamaican cook all, all
- 1:18the years ago. Yeah, I had a few religious
- 1:20people on the show over the years.
- 1:22It's always interesting have so we say some opinions.
- 1:27But you know, I like to kind of give people a chance to talk as
- 1:33much as possible. You know, I like to learn and I,
- 1:36I think, I think it was pretty interesting as a concept, being
- 1:42a content creator on, on, on religious topics.
- 1:46You know, I mean, it's, it's kind of, you know, in many ways
- 1:49it's kind of a perfect platform for it.
- 1:52But it's, it's, I think it's just interesting because, you
- 1:55know, people have always been talking about religion in many
- 1:57different ways, but with, you know, the advent of different
- 2:01technologies and, and how social media has evolved over the
- 2:05years. We've, we've got like AI don't
- 2:08know, like a different way of reaching people.
- 2:12You know, you can reach more people arguably as well through
- 2:15social media and just the Internet in general.
- 2:19But before we get into that, let's, let's just sort of see
- 2:22you, you know, I want to talk a bit a bit about your, your
- 2:25upbringing and, and kind of like how you developed, you know,
- 2:29your, your faith and belief in religion and stuff like that.
- 2:32So where did it all kind of begin for you?
- 2:34Let's start there. All right, so as you guys know,
- 2:37I'm from Jamaica and my upbringing will I would describe
- 2:42as kind of religious because I was grown into the church.
- 2:46My grandmother usually came to the 7th day, my mother to the
- 2:50Pentecostal church and Baptist Church.
- 2:52But it wasn't until I was 17 that I made a step of faith for
- 2:58myself, to want to know God for myself and to understand him for
- 3:02myself. And that is when I got baptized.
- 3:05And that was back in 2026 years. I was 1717, yeah.
- 3:12OK. So that's interesting.
- 3:15So you'd been in and around religion most of your sort of
- 3:19adolescence, but as you said, you only kind of accepted it at
- 3:23that point. So well, what was the reason
- 3:26behind that? Was there any particular event
- 3:30shift maybe in your perspective? Like, why did you decide to kind
- 3:34of make that a part of your life?
- 3:36Well, I think based on what was going on in my life internally,
- 3:42I always believed there was something bigger than me.
- 3:45I always feel that there was this God, this divine force that
- 3:49I wanted to have this connection with.
- 3:51I don't know. As the years goes on, it's like
- 3:55this DB yearning for it. And it wasn't until the pandemic
- 3:59came, and that is when that desire intensified.
- 4:04But I think it was in high school when I met this person
- 4:09with my friend. He, like, invited me to his
- 4:13church. Was we, I'm sorry, which was an
- 4:15Apostolic Church. And that is where I got baptized
- 4:18at. Yeah.
- 4:19And just again, walking a little bit through, you know, your
- 4:24adolescence, obviously you gave us kind of a breakdown there.
- 4:26There's a little bit of a split in your family as far as like
- 4:30approaches to religion. You know, Pentecostal is 1.
- 4:33And then is that 7th day Adventist?
- 4:35Is that is that correct? Yeah, 7th day.
- 4:38Yeah, yeah, I'm not. I'm not like too, I don't know.
- 4:42I know, I know of these things. I know that like there's like
- 4:45little subtle differences and in some cases it's a lot more like
- 4:48I know the Pentecostal is yeah, it's it's like a lot of a lot of
- 4:55song is involved with it, which I've always, well, they at least
- 5:01I don't know, here in the UK it is.
- 5:02Maybe it's it's different in Jamaica.
- 5:06OK. Would that be, would that be
- 5:07right? I don't know.
- 5:08What, what, what, what, how? How is it in Jamaica?
- 5:11Well, to be honest, I don't know how to explain it because I
- 5:14haven't I think the wait. Can you repeat the question
- 5:18again? Well, what I was basically
- 5:21saying is here in the UK, when you when you hear Pentecostal,
- 5:26typically you think it's churches that have, you know,
- 5:30they might have like a church band.
- 5:33The singing is, is, it's all, it's all like religious songs
- 5:38and everything. But it's different from your
- 5:42typical church in the UK where people are kind of singing hymns
- 5:46and there's no, there's no music.
- 5:49There might be like a like an organ or something, but it's
- 5:51very, it's, it's kind of dry, to be honest.
- 5:55It's, I mean, if I was ever going to go to church, I
- 5:57wouldn't go to that. I'd go Pentecostal because
- 6:00church bands are good. Just a side note, church bands
- 6:02are amazing, like Jesus, especially in the States.
- 6:05They've got a lot of really, really good church bands.
- 6:09But yeah, no, it's, it's, it's there's a lot of energy, there's
- 6:13a lot of singing and just kind of general participation.
- 6:18I suppose you could say. I think I think a movie that
- 6:21kind of gives you a little bit of an in a look into that.
- 6:24It's a little bit different from what it is, but if you've ever
- 6:28seen like sister acts, that's kind of like famous movie
- 6:32franchise, but in those movies, they kind of touch on that a
- 6:36little bit as far as like the singing aspect of things is
- 6:39concerned and and the role, I guess it plays in let's say
- 6:45religious rituals or just like generally what people do when
- 6:50they when they go to a church, I guess.
- 6:52But the the question is because when I said that it seemed like
- 6:56maybe it might be a bit different in Jamaica.
- 6:58So what's your experience with that in?
- 7:00Jamaica in Jamaica's the same thing.
- 7:02They have choirs, they have bands, they do sing hymns and
- 7:06music. So I think it's the same thing.
- 7:10Yeah, it's a very same thing. All right.
- 7:14I, I did want to kind of touch on this before we kind of talk
- 7:18more about sort of your religion and stuff.
- 7:20Obviously Jamaica is, is also famous for Rastafarianism.
- 7:28Yeah. And I, I did, I did a little bit
- 7:30of research on it, but I like to sometimes keep myself a bit open
- 7:33so I can kind of hear what my guests perspective on it is.
- 7:37As I understand Rastaf. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:40So as I understand, Rastafarianism has roots in
- 7:43Christianity, but it's, it's not quite that straightforward.
- 7:49I guess my my question is like what?
- 7:51What are your thoughts on Rastafarianism and what can you
- 7:54tell us about that particular religion?
- 7:57Well, you know, I was once a Rasta doing them, so I can
- 8:01speak. And my father is, yeah, my
- 8:05father is a Rasta, so he kinda reads the Bible.
- 8:10I think he's a Orthodox Christian as well.
- 8:13So his rest of your Anism does imitate some form of
- 8:17Christianity when it comes on to keeping the 10 commandments,
- 8:21keeping the Sabbath, and keeping some form of the Old Testament
- 8:25law. So yeah, they do imitate some
- 8:29form of Christianity. It's different for everybody,
- 8:32some are spiritualists where some may lean to more towards
- 8:36the Christian feat like Orthodox.
- 8:38I want to clear something up for good about this that I've heard
- 8:43that ISIS something I've heard, so I don't know if it's actually
- 8:46true or not. When it comes to Rastafarianism
- 8:50being a Rasta and speaking cannabis, is that actually part
- 8:58of the religion or is that actually just a cultural thing
- 9:02and it just happens that some rusters do that?
- 9:04Like what? Where does that actually fit in
- 9:06their religion? Well, to be honest now, what do
- 9:09you call it? A part of the religion For some
- 9:13is a way of life. No, for some people, them two
- 9:16for small cannabis because they want to wear some they rather
- 9:20not because it probably is a health problem.
- 9:23Yeah, it's very much different. I see, when I heard that, I was
- 9:29like, I, I didn't believe it. Like, I, I knew, I know it's
- 9:33obviously a big part of Jamaican culture, but it's, I was like,
- 9:37there's no way that it's part of the religion.
- 9:39Like it's that's not true. Come on.
- 9:41And it's finally got an answer on that.
- 9:44So there you go. We've got an actual Jamaican who
- 9:47was a raster. He's given you a definitive
- 9:50answer there. So there we go, people.
- 9:53So, yeah, walk me through, I suppose religion and
- 9:58Christianity in Jamaica, given that you're you're making
- 10:02content for, for a global audience.
- 10:03So it's, it won't just be for people in Jamaica, it'd be
- 10:06people around the world. I imagine when you talk about
- 10:09these things, you know, people got different things to say as
- 10:12far as their experience, what it's like where they're from.
- 10:17I know it's hard to kind of like some other country in this
- 10:20sense, but what we feel like religion and Christianity in
- 10:23Jamaica, how does it differ from the rest of the world?
- 10:26Well, Crescent in Jamaica is very diverse.
- 10:28You know, there's so many different churches, there's so
- 10:30many different denomination. And how it differ from the rest
- 10:36of the world, I want to say different from the rest of our.
- 10:39It's practical. The same format.
- 10:41Yeah. Apostolic.
- 10:43Yeah. Seven Day Adventist.
- 10:44Yeah, Pentecostal. Yet the revival is church, so
- 10:49it's the same thing. And you asked another question.
- 10:52If people have a lot to say about my content, people have to
- 10:56say about me on social media. I receive a lot of criticism for
- 11:01what I do, for the things I share a lot of times.
- 11:06But at the same time, there's people that give praises to me.
- 11:10No, like Sir, they give God the praise.
- 11:12Like I can see all my content, strengthen the relationship with
- 11:16God. Like it makes them want to read
- 11:18a Bible more. It makes them want to go deeper
- 11:22in their feet. Because some people message me
- 11:25on Tiktok, on Instagram and they share all my contact, my
- 11:28content, impact their life in a positive way.
- 11:31So I guess that's an answer. Before we focus on the positive,
- 11:36I want to focus a little on the negative for a second.
- 11:39What would you say is the most common kind of criticisms you're
- 11:42receiving about your content? The way, the way.
- 11:45I'm sorry, man, I don't. I don't want to bring you down.
- 11:48I I I can relate. I can't criticize.
- 11:52It's OK. It's not a curious question.
- 11:54A lot of people, they criticize them for a lot of different
- 11:59things, like the way how I choose to say things.
- 12:04They mean like the way how I speak.
- 12:06They may not like my belief. Like I do speak out against
- 12:10keeping the 10 commandments and keeping the Sabbath.
- 12:13Like I don't believe as Christians who must keep those
- 12:18type of requirement because we are free from the law of Moses,
- 12:23because when Christ came, he came to fulfill the law, not to
- 12:27make us partakers of it. So I've been criticized a lot in
- 12:31those areas, but for the most part, a lot of people should get
- 12:35support to me on Instagram and on Tiktok, and it is a really
- 12:40good thing for me. So yeah.
- 12:43Let's flip it UPS. What's some of the best feedback
- 12:46you've received? The positive comments, maybe
- 12:48some particular things that have stood out over the years.
- 12:52OK, so a lot of people said that like the content technique
- 12:57speaks to them in a way that it like what I'm speaking to them,
- 13:01it like what's they're going through, like sorry, sorry, what
- 13:05about you to say what I'm speaking to them?
- 13:07Like they're facing it in their current life.
- 13:09So I'm just saying like God is speaking to me.
- 13:12Sorry, God is speaking true to me, to them.
- 13:14And like the content I'm making is affirming what God has
- 13:18already spoken to them. So I guess that's one of them as
- 13:22well. And he said my content is kind
- 13:23of encouraging as well. So I guess that's some positive
- 13:27feedbacks I receive. I mean, it's, it's always good
- 13:30to to inspire people and, and try to motivate people.
- 13:35I've got very mixed opinions when it comes to religion.
- 13:37My argument a lot of the time is this is not the pub problem.
- 13:43People are the problem. And what I mean by that is I, I
- 13:48think any type of situation where you lay out rules and you
- 13:54have people following said rules can be manipulated and is
- 13:59manipulated. Yeah.
- 14:01And we and we've seen over the years in all different parts of
- 14:04the world how religion can be and is used to manipulate
- 14:09people. But we've also seen the really
- 14:12positive things as far as like how it can completely change
- 14:18people's lives, save them from themselves, you know, So I think
- 14:22really it, it comes down to like how you receive these things,
- 14:28the people that are around you, the people involved in maybe
- 14:33your like your local church or your community or whatever the
- 14:39case may be. It it, it all really comes down
- 14:41to people. And you know, it's interesting
- 14:45today, where we're at today, the state of the world right now.
- 14:52Let's throw that into the mix. So why, in your opinion, why is
- 14:55religious religion sorry, important in 2026?
- 15:01Why religion is important? I thought to be asked that
- 15:05question. Why?
- 15:08Because I mean it serve as a a gateway to God.
- 15:14Well, in my case, Christianity in my life has been a pivotal
- 15:20moment where my relationship with God has deep in where I
- 15:25wanted to know God more and I wanted answers.
- 15:28And Christianity has served at that gateway that I received
- 15:33those answers. So I guess I can speak from my
- 15:36experience. What kind of answers were you
- 15:38looking for? Purpose, Purpose.
- 15:42That's that's the answer looking for.
- 15:44I wanted to see God for purpose because growing up I was a very
- 15:50curious person. I believe many things.
- 15:54I dwell into atheism, I dwell into many things, and at one
- 15:59point I even believed in astrology and divination.
- 16:02But God has delivered me from that, thankfully, and He has
- 16:07brought me to us a light alone to see the gospel of His truth,
- 16:11which is Jesus Christ. And that thing is so because
- 16:15what brought me purpose? That's why I'm doing what I'm
- 16:18doing. So it's been 6 years.
- 16:20Yeah, 6. Years, have you ever?
- 16:22Six years, Yeah. Have you ever wavered from that
- 16:25belief? Because obviously the thing with
- 16:27religion is obviously you're following, you know, set rules.
- 16:32You're following whatever it is you particularly believe in.
- 16:35And during the hard times, I know particularly in
- 16:39Christianity, this is the case. You'll get situations where
- 16:42people, let's say you speak to a pastor or a vicar or something
- 16:46like that and you ask them like, hey, what do I do?
- 16:50I'm dealing with this really tough time.
- 16:52Or maybe even you just praying, you know, because I know it can
- 16:55be quite a personal thing. How is it that you get through
- 17:00those difficult times and, you know, have you wavered?
- 17:04Have you struggled maybe sometimes with that belief?
- 17:08OK, yes, there's times where I've doubted, there's times when
- 17:14I wanted to give up, and there's times when I just wanted to
- 17:17throw in the tower. But through all, I think the
- 17:21reason my faith remains so strong over the years is just
- 17:24that I had this strong faith in God because I've been through
- 17:28things in my life that only God could deliver me from it.
- 17:32And that has strengthened me to the point that nothing can move
- 17:36me and nothing can sway me. So that is the reason why I
- 17:41might say it has grown so strong.
- 17:42And yeah. How has religion sort of
- 17:45affected your day-to-day? You say it's given you purpose.
- 17:48That's hey, like I think for many of us, that's what we're
- 17:51looking for in life. You know, that's what we're at
- 17:53least we're aiming for. But how has it affected like the
- 17:57day-to-day? You know, like what does it,
- 17:59what does it give you, I guess. Mean negative way.
- 18:04No, no, no, no what? It could be negative I suppose,
- 18:08but no like the, you know, the day-to-day, the let's think
- 18:13about like you before religion and you now.
- 18:16How has it affected, say, the way you live your life?
- 18:20OK, before Christianity I would say I was confused, I was lost.
- 18:26I was looking in all type of direction for the answers.
- 18:28As I mentioned before, I usually practice divination and
- 18:34numerology and I usually look to these things for the answers.
- 18:38No, that's the old me. But then the new me now looks to
- 18:42God with a true prayer and with a true being steadfast in the
- 18:47faith, and that is where I get the answer from.
- 18:49So back then me, I was living a purposeless life.
- 18:54Right now, I'm living a purposeful life where I'm
- 18:56continually operating my gift and helping other people via
- 19:00social media. So Full disclosure, we'll get
- 19:03into that by the way, but Full disclosure, I, I believe in
- 19:06astrology, divination, these sorts of things, amongst other
- 19:10things. I keep myself open.
- 19:11My kind of philosophy is keep self open to everything.
- 19:15Yeah. It's not to catch you out.
- 19:16Don't worry. Don't worry.
- 19:16It's nothing like that. I like to keep myself open to
- 19:19sort of all possibilities and that includes religions too.
- 19:23For me, it's more like I'm just not really willing to follow a
- 19:26particular monotheistic religion or, you know, a set of rules.
- 19:31I like to kind of keep it open and pick and choose what I
- 19:34believe in, right? But that's just me.
- 19:37OK. But one thing that I'm getting
- 19:40from what you were saying is that you said you you were
- 19:43delivered from that. So at some point you saw it as,
- 19:48or you were told that those things are negative in some way.
- 19:52Could you kind of elaborate on that a little?
- 19:56Well, I would say I was told it's more from experience back
- 20:02then I was, I was going through a lot of things, man.
- 20:06And I feel it, I feel like back then it was more of a spiritual
- 20:10issue where I may have, I don't know, open some gateway to some
- 20:18forces in my life that, you know, I'm not, I'm not trying to
- 20:23force my belief on it, but I, I just.
- 20:26Those things back then, I don't really practice them anymore
- 20:30because to me it's more of a a stronghold because at one point
- 20:36I usually, how would I say no it because it became an idol.
- 20:43Every day I would look into these things, trying to find
- 20:47purpose in everyday life, in my life, in my future.
- 20:51And it caused me to become more worrisome and more anxious.
- 20:56It just wasn't the way I wanted to live.
- 20:59And that is what transitioned me to wanting to accept Christ even
- 21:03more. I don't know.
- 21:04That makes sense, but that's the truth.
- 21:06No, I. I.
- 21:07I get it, I get it. When you say forces, do you mean
- 21:11negative energy? Yes, that's what I mean, OK.
- 21:16So was it coming? Let's say you were doing these
- 21:19things and I don't know, did it attract the wrong sort of people
- 21:25in your life or would do the bad luck or like, what do you mean
- 21:29when you say that? Well, man, I, I, I started
- 21:32having a lot of weird experiences.
- 21:34Like for example, growing up, I had a lot of anxiety issues and
- 21:40me dwelling in these type of stuff increase it ever more
- 21:43because I would becoming more anxious.
- 21:47You know, I start, I don't know, I don't know what was the
- 21:50problem, but I believe it was connected to that and some very
- 21:53other strange experiences. That was roughly 7 years ago,
- 21:58but yeah. You get it.
- 22:01I suffer from anxiety too, and I know that sometimes when you
- 22:05fixate on certain things, it can, it can get to you.
- 22:09You know, sometimes I, I've noticed a big thing in my life
- 22:14is, is understanding when to let go of things, even if it's
- 22:19something that you're desperately trying to, like,
- 22:21keep and you're desperately trying to, like, just hang on to
- 22:24that thing, but you have to let go.
- 22:27And it's terrifying to do that. But yeah, ironically, yeah, it's
- 22:31like by doing that, you're actually better off.
- 22:36You know the the example I say, yeah, go on, go on.
- 22:40I'm sorry for interrupting you. That's, that's, that's my case.
- 22:43When I let go of these things, life become much more bitter for
- 22:46me. I've become more freer in my
- 22:49mind. So that's what I've experienced.
- 22:52Yeah. I mean, that's kind of the
- 22:52headspace you want to be, isn't it?
- 22:54Like they say with emotions, if you don't have a hold of your
- 22:58emotions, obviously they control you.
- 23:01But I think something that people don't necessarily add to
- 23:05that, which is a really important point, is explaining
- 23:08what exactly that looks like. Now, of course, we all
- 23:11experience emotions. We know how we can fly off the
- 23:14handle if we're angry, if we're depressed, whatever.
- 23:17But what does that look like long term?
- 23:21What does that look like day-to-day?
- 23:22Well, I would argue it's kind of a feeling of clouding your mind.
- 23:27It's like a feeling of paralysis.
- 23:29It's like, like a mental block almost like you're trapped.
- 23:34And then obviously when you get out of that space, it's just
- 23:37freeing, you know? Yeah.
- 23:41That's what it's like. I don't know, there's something,
- 23:44there's something to it. Let's, OK, let's delve into
- 23:51content creation because I think this is interesting.
- 23:53This is something that I've seen pick up a lot in recent years, a
- 23:57lot of religious content creators.
- 24:00And I got to say, given everything that's happened over
- 24:04the last six years, because this is, let's face it, this has been
- 24:07a crazy, crazy decade, Surreal. I think would be fair to say in
- 24:12many ways, it feels like before the COVID times and after the
- 24:17COVID times, it's like a, it's almost like a biblical moment in
- 24:21time in history. You know what I'm saying?
- 24:23Like it's life actually day-to-day felt different to how
- 24:28it feels now. Very much is like I should.
- 24:31Yeah, it's really weird. So I can't help but think that
- 24:37this influx of religious content creators on social media is a
- 24:42direct response to that because a lot of people are struggling
- 24:47now and looking for answers, right?
- 24:50And you know, his his thing right with me and religion.
- 24:54I don't think I'll ever be a follower of any particular
- 24:57religion. I respect religion.
- 25:00I think it's always, I think something that people often
- 25:03forget is that, you know, society is built on religion.
- 25:06When you look at like laws that comes from religions, I don't
- 25:10think it's, it's a good idea to ever like mock religion or, or
- 25:13just, you know, dismiss it. But I do think everyone should
- 25:18keep an open mind about things and, and make decisions for
- 25:21themselves. I think that's really the key.
- 25:23You know, I remember years ago, I used to have a friend who who
- 25:26converted to a particular religion and I was like, I
- 25:29support you, do what you want to do.
- 25:31The only thing I will add is keep your mind open and question
- 25:36everything. Never, never close your mind off
- 25:38to any possibilities. That was the only thing I said
- 25:41to him. And unfortunately, he changed in
- 25:45a way where I was like, OK, I can't really support this, but
- 25:49it had nothing to do with his religion.
- 25:51There was like small little aspects of it that did.
- 25:53But really it was him changing his mindset from the person he
- 25:59was before and the person he was afterwards.
- 26:02And again, you know, had nothing to do with his habits either,
- 26:06you know, like he quit drinking. I was like, great, that's good
- 26:08for you. That's, you know, it's not a bad
- 26:09thing, you know? But it was more like things like
- 26:13his opinions on women that I couldn't get behind or his
- 26:17opinions on, I don't know, just just like everyday things that I
- 26:21just couldn't really connect with.
- 26:23And, you know, we never had a big argument.
- 26:25We just kind of went our separate ways kind of thing.
- 26:29But I do look at that and then I look at people everyday that I
- 26:33meet. And I think right now people are
- 26:36looking for guidance more so than ever.
- 26:40When you look at what COVID actually did, was it put more
- 26:44and more and more and more people online than ever before?
- 26:49And I think many people lost themselves in the Internet in a
- 26:54way that's not healthy. And also, you know, you're
- 26:58always, you're hearing increasing rates of depression,
- 27:00mental health illnesses, stress, anxiety, the economy's terrible.
- 27:05You know, there's, there's so many wars around the world.
- 27:08There's, there's so much going on right now.
- 27:11It's almost an overload. So I, I'm getting to a point.
- 27:15So inevitably you're going to have more, more and more people
- 27:20talking about religion and say, well, hey, look, I have answers.
- 27:23Have you considered this? Here's what I think, etcetera.
- 27:28So my question to you is kind of twofold.
- 27:33The first part of it is sort of to address that, you know, the,
- 27:36the, the influx of content creators.
- 27:39And then the second part of the question is why did you decide
- 27:45to become a religious content? OK, so why there's a influx of
- 27:52real just content creators pertainly, particularly
- 27:55Christian content creators? I think it arise from the need
- 27:59of wanting to know God more because when the pandemic hit, a
- 28:04lot of things slowed down, a lot of industries collapse and a lot
- 28:09of a lot of things started to happen and a lot of people had
- 28:13to slow down and look internally within themselves.
- 28:17They just realize, man, what time do you my life.
- 28:22There must be something bigger to explain all of this.
- 28:25And that's why no why I became a content creator.
- 28:32I think it was divinely inspired by God.
- 28:36I think how can I explain this? I think it was like last year, I
- 28:41miss some people online. And we were talking online and
- 28:46Google Meet. No, it wasn't Google Meet.
- 28:48It was mostly Zoom. And I was inspired by a friend
- 28:53to make content. And when I started to make
- 28:57content, I realized people love what I do when they wanted to
- 29:01hear the word of God more. And as time passed on, I grew
- 29:05even more. And yeah, that's it, man.
- 29:09That's that's really. What are you finding that you
- 29:13tend to focus on more content wise and and what what do people
- 29:17ask you about the most? OK, what I focus on the most, I
- 29:20focus on mostly motivational content and scriptural content.
- 29:26Like I may talk about something in my daily life that I may
- 29:30face, and I may cite a scripture from it, and it may relate to
- 29:35someone in their heart, in their personal life.
- 29:40Yeah, that's really. OK, and and what what are people
- 29:43asking you about? You know what, what, because I
- 29:46know say on Tiktok, actually you can get it on all social media
- 29:49now I've seen it on YouTube, although the YouTube 1 is a bit
- 29:52rubbish. With Tiktok, you can ask someone
- 29:56a question, say in the comments section and then you can do a
- 29:59video response to that, right? So, OK, do you do video
- 30:05responses? Yeah, do do you do that and and
- 30:07what and what people like asking you a lot.
- 30:10Like one time, like somebody asked me the other day why my
- 30:14feet is so strong and I made a video over a minute explaining
- 30:18why that is. From experiences that I've went
- 30:21through, that is why some people ask me a lot of things.
- 30:25They may share their life story, their struggles, and they may
- 30:29ask me to pray for them, our sheer word of encouragement with
- 30:33them. And I do, I really do.
- 30:35I do it out of love because I know at one point I was in that
- 30:39position as I I've. Got some challenging questions
- 30:42for you? You ready?
- 30:44Well, I'll try to because I'm kind of.
- 30:47Hey, don't worry man, there's nothing to worry about.
- 30:49It's a bit of fun because I don't even know how to answer
- 30:51this to be honest. I could have a jab at it, but
- 30:54who is religion not for? Who should avoid it?
- 30:58And it's really, I don't know, man, I don't.
- 31:00Fair enough. I, I don't know to answer that
- 31:02question. I mean the reason is not for the
- 31:05person like someone who I would say who is not curious, like you
- 31:10don't care, you just want to live life and you don't really
- 31:13care about none of that. So I guess religion is not for
- 31:16you. I guess that's mines.
- 31:17I mean, I suppose you could argue though in in some ways it,
- 31:21it provides a lifestyle, does it not, you know, framework for
- 31:25living, maybe you know. Yeah, it was, it provides a
- 31:27lifestyle, it may changes one way of thinking the way how they
- 31:32live and it may even impact the the decision they make on a
- 31:36day-to-day basis. So I guess that's an aspect of
- 31:38it, yeah. I mean, I remember years ago, I
- 31:41saw one of those clips. It's like a street interview and
- 31:44there was this guy steps out of a car.
- 31:46He's is, is this like tall black guy.
- 31:49He's probably like 6263, I think it was in the states somewhere.
- 31:52And he looks amazing. Like he's he's got one of those
- 31:55like beautiful grey kind of suits.
- 31:58I don't know. He just he looked a billion
- 32:00bucks and he gets out the car and this immediately a guy
- 32:03shoves a microphone in his face, which I just an aside there.
- 32:07I always think it's a bit weird the the times we're living in
- 32:10where random people just come up to you on the street with a
- 32:12microphone and it's just like. Camera in your face.
- 32:16Yeah, it's just, it's just weird man.
- 32:19But anyway, he gets out of the car and the guy asks him about
- 32:24his, you know, his work. Obviously he's in an amazing car
- 32:27and stuff. He's like, tell me about, you
- 32:31know, your work and, and a bit about you.
- 32:34And basically in a nutshell, what he says is he's a religious
- 32:38man and every decision he's ever made from a business
- 32:43perspective, he's looked into scripture and kind of seen like,
- 32:48does this align with scripture? And if it does, he'll do it.
- 32:52Which I was like, I just blew my mind.
- 32:54I was like, OK, I mean, it's, it kind of makes sense.
- 32:59Do you know what I mean? Like in, in a sense, I just had
- 33:03a guest on recently who is working on a book about, I think
- 33:09it's like, it's like finances and just being successful with
- 33:14finance and God. And he's like, oh, I'm a bit
- 33:17concerned because it's, it's a bit controversial, but it's also
- 33:22these are my thoughts. This is my opinions kind of
- 33:24thing. And I just thought like, that's
- 33:25interesting. Like applying these, these two
- 33:27things that you might not always apply to one another.
- 33:33But to me, to me, it kind of makes sense because religion,
- 33:37like I said, is it is a framework, it's a set of rules
- 33:39to live by. I think if, if your life is in
- 33:43chaos, it's a great way to bring order to that.
- 33:48Like, that's why I think let's say like the 12 step program
- 33:52for, for Alcoholics is, is fantastic because it's like, OK,
- 33:55here's the thing you can work on.
- 33:57It'll keep you busy, it'll keep your, you focused, organized.
- 34:02And it's, and it's powerful. You know, it's whether or not
- 34:05you believe in religion is, it's something you can focus your
- 34:08mind onto and, and achieve within that time frame.
- 34:11And great here if you've, if you become religious as a result,
- 34:15even better. You've got something you can
- 34:16continue with and build a new life around.
- 34:19You know, and I think these are the things I like to think about
- 34:24when it comes to religion. And when I think about my
- 34:28religious friends I've had over the years, these are the sorts
- 34:30of things they tend to talk about.
- 34:35But you know, I also see the other side preaching sometimes
- 34:40people getting a bit over the top with it, almost aggressive
- 34:43with it. There again, like I said
- 34:47earlier, it's all about people. People decide how far they take
- 34:51things and that's always interesting to me.
- 34:55One thing I wanted to ask is, is have you experienced a lot of
- 34:58that, You know, like kind of extreme opinions or maybe people
- 35:02around you that maybe were religious, but they weren't,
- 35:06let's say, like a positive influence in some way, if you
- 35:09hear what I'm saying? You mean like people like the
- 35:16But what exactly are asking? Like are people around
- 35:19influencing a negative bar positive?
- 35:22Have there been negative people say around like let's say your
- 35:27local church or local town, or because like I can say, I live
- 35:33in Manchester here in the UK, right?
- 35:35There's a lot of religious people here.
- 35:37There's, there's Christians, there's Jews, there's Muslims
- 35:40and there's a particular St. that you can walk down.
- 35:44It's retail. It's really weird actually,
- 35:47it's, I guess people go there because it's kind of like the
- 35:50most middle point of the, the city.
- 35:52But you get preachers all the way down this row of shops with
- 35:58a shopping centre and everything.
- 35:59You get preachers in the, in the middle of the street.
- 36:02And it makes sense because that's the most footfall, right?
- 36:06And sometimes, you know, I'll kind of walk past, I might take
- 36:09an earphone out and listen for a little bit and then carry on.
- 36:12Other times if it's shouting, screaming, I, I try to just run
- 36:16away. But it, well, it depends.
- 36:20Yeah, it depends. I remember one time I had a,
- 36:22there was a Muslim guy that caught me on a, on a night one
- 36:25time. And I must have had a good hour
- 36:26long conversation with him. And, and it was, it was good
- 36:30man. I gave him the kind of preface
- 36:33that I always give people, which is you're not going to convert
- 36:36me, but I'm open. Let's talk.
- 36:38I'm willing to hear what you have to say because I think
- 36:43that's important to do that. It's something from time to
- 36:46time, you know, it's change your mind, you know, see, see where,
- 36:49where your head is at at any one time.
- 36:52Now, the, the flip side of that is unfortunately, not all those
- 36:55conversations are positive. Sometimes people take things to
- 37:00the extreme. They go a bit too far with
- 37:02things. I'll give you an example.
- 37:05When I was a kid, I remember walking around our local town
- 37:09centre and there was a guy, I must have been like 3-4 years
- 37:13old and there was a guy preaching and screaming at
- 37:20everyone. Just everyone was apparently a
- 37:22Sinner. Everyone is going to hell.
- 37:26And it was like, man, it's just me with my mum.
- 37:29We're like going shopping, man. Like what, what did we do wrong?
- 37:34You know, it's like what? And it's, it's, it's kind of
- 37:37when people take things too fast.
- 37:39I, I guess I wanted to ask you a little bit about that.
- 37:40Like have you experienced that? How will you deal with that?
- 37:46Well, yeah, I've experienced that.
- 37:47I take, I know what I feel. I know the fear mongering feel.
- 37:52I experienced that a lot growing up as that child.
- 37:54But no, as a young adult, it doesn't really affect me that
- 37:58much because I see things a lot differently from mainstream
- 38:02Christianity. Because I don't believe what?
- 38:07What should I say? I don't believe God is gonna
- 38:11condemn one to hell if they don't believe.
- 38:15I think the gospel should be preached in a scary type of way,
- 38:20like telling someone that if they don't receive Jesus Christ
- 38:24they're gonna burn hell forever. No, it should be preached in
- 38:28love and if the person rejects it then it's OK, you just move
- 38:32on. That's I've.
- 38:34Always I agree with you. I think the way in which you
- 38:39relay a message is everything. Like I'm a I'm a big fan of
- 38:43storytelling. I've always prided myself on
- 38:47becoming better as a storyteller and and listening to great
- 38:51storytellers. And if you look at religion in
- 38:55its best form, it is storytelling.
- 38:57Human beings love stories. They love storytelling.
- 39:00If you're a good storyteller, they will listen to anything you
- 39:03have to say. Like, I could be reading, I
- 39:07don't know, like a catalog. And I could make it interesting
- 39:12if I focus on how I read the catalog.
- 39:16You know, it's, it's all about how you say things.
- 39:21And if you take like the Bible as an example, there's, there's
- 39:24loads and loads of stories in there that if you would tell
- 39:26them in the right way, you could interest people, maybe even
- 39:30people that aren't religious. You know, is, you know, when,
- 39:35when I was at school, I remember there were, I went to kind of,
- 39:39it was like a primary school that had a bit of a religious
- 39:42hangover. It wasn't religious, but it, you
- 39:44know, there was religious stuff there probably from like years
- 39:47prior. And, you know, every now and
- 39:50again, one of the teachers would, you know, tell us a story
- 39:54from the Bible or fable or something like that.
- 39:57And it sometimes it'd be really, really interesting.
- 40:00And I think a lot of it came down to how that teacher went
- 40:03about that, you know, so there's, there's definitely
- 40:06something there. It's also why I.
- 40:09Think make a point about that I'm so sorry for interrupting I
- 40:13see you actually make a good point about that it really
- 40:16depends on how you relate this to to someone because you may
- 40:20not know what you've experienced experienced in your life with a
- 40:23dramatic so yeah, be very careful when you speak to
- 40:26someone in a certain. Yeah, I mean, just going back to
- 40:30what we were saying before, I've always found that crazy as a
- 40:33concept when people try to sort of demonize people with with
- 40:38religion. I've heard this term in the
- 40:41States over the years. I want to get your opinion on
- 40:44this. Sometimes you hear people say,
- 40:48oh, I'm God fearing. I'm a God fearing Christian.
- 40:52And I always found that kind of weird as a concept.
- 40:55I was like, OK, this is supposed to be a positive thing, you
- 40:59know, arguably a very personal thing for people.
- 41:03You know, for some people, it's something they want to share
- 41:05with their community. Other people want to keep it a
- 41:08very personal intimate relationship, but they don't
- 41:13want to involve other people right now.
- 41:18When you go about things with this kind of you have to fear
- 41:24God. You must be fearful at all
- 41:26times. I'm like how, how, how come the
- 41:29person live in because we, you know, we both suffer from
- 41:32anxiety. Like how, how can you live in
- 41:34that constant state of anxiety of like fear, like am I making
- 41:38the right decisions? What if I go like, what if this
- 41:41leads me to go to hell? Like I that would be stress to
- 41:45me man. It's scary.
- 41:48It really does sound scary, but at the same time, I've been the
- 41:53term God fearing mean having reverend respect.
- 41:57So the way you've experienced growing up, this idea that if
- 42:01you, if you're not living a God fearing life, then every
- 42:04decision you make is wrong and they're going to burn a hell for
- 42:08well, I just want to say something.
- 42:10No, what I believe in is that, you know, as a child of God
- 42:17being God, fear mean having a reverence for the Lord.
- 42:20And it doesn't matter whether is good or bad decision.
- 42:24It all plays out in God's divine story in your life.
- 42:29So we don't need to fear whether we're going to do this or do
- 42:32that or whether we're going to go down this part.
- 42:35No, the Christian life is not to make us stress, is to make us
- 42:40learn more on God and our faith. And by having faith, we rest
- 42:44knowing that God is leading our part.
- 42:46So that's just my take on that. I don't know that makes sense,
- 42:49but that's why I view. What are the worst parts of
- 42:52religious life? OK, the worst part of room just
- 42:56like to go. Straight into it I.
- 43:02Think that's the worst part? No, but then I face a lot of
- 43:07these things where maybe by thought I did this, then I'm
- 43:12going to face a certain outcome. And if I said this and behaving
- 43:16this way then somehow God is going to abandon me.
- 43:20As the years progress, I realized that this was not true.
- 43:24As I started to read my Bible and to do my research myself and
- 43:28to pray, I started to deviate from certain beliefs system and
- 43:33certain doctrine because I realized it was damaging to the
- 43:36mind. Yeah.
- 43:40And the flip question what are the best parts of religious
- 43:43life? The best part?
- 43:46The best part is purposefulness, fate, being positive and
- 43:53optimistic towards the future. I think that's one of the best
- 43:57part towards it. That's what I would say.
- 43:59The Christian life is fun. What has creating religious
- 44:03content taught you? OK, what creating religious
- 44:07content taught me is that people need God like me making content
- 44:12for a year now, people commenting on my post, people
- 44:17like in sharing and even region talk, reaching out to me
- 44:20personally, You know, you kind of highlight more one thing.
- 44:24There's a there's an increase of desire desire.
- 44:28There's an increase in the desire to know God more in the
- 44:31human population. And and I think it's due to the
- 44:35ongoing event that's going on where, where there's war,
- 44:39famines and all these things. And it is really pushing people
- 44:45to seek deeper shooting thing. But what do I gain from this?
- 44:50To be honest, I don't gain anything monitored from it.
- 44:54But I can say doing this has brought me a lot of joy, peace,
- 44:59you know, and gladness because I realized what I'm doing is
- 45:01actually helping people. And it's not people own in
- 45:04Jamaica, it's people worldwide. If you did earn money from it,
- 45:09would you accept that money? Like to donation or to branding
- 45:15donation? Any any anything.
- 45:18If someone wants to donate to me tomorrow, you know, would gladly
- 45:22receive it if the person is doing it from a pure heart, you
- 45:27know, because if someone wants to help me financially, I'm not
- 45:29going to reject. Would you can I word this?
- 45:34Is there not like a maybe a moral issue there because you're
- 45:39you're talking about religion, someone donates to you or you
- 45:42you're earning money from religious content and you're
- 45:47accepting it and it's personal gain.
- 45:50Would there be an issue there? Well, in my case, I don't see a
- 45:56moral issue in what I'm doing because I'm not doing it for any
- 46:01pretenseful reasons. I'm not doing it to become
- 46:05famous. I'm not doing it because I want
- 46:07something from somebody. I'm doing it because they want
- 46:11to help. No, the financial part of it.
- 46:15If people want to donate to me, I would gladly.
- 46:20I don't really see there's a more issue.
- 46:22Don't want to receive donation? I the only reason I ask is
- 46:24obviously, you know, there's every possibility it could, as
- 46:28the kids say, pop off and go well, and you know, who knows,
- 46:33you might. Yeah, I've, I've seen successful
- 46:35religious content creators and they do get asked about this
- 46:37sometimes. They're like, shouldn't you give
- 46:39all the money to charity, to the church, whatever.
- 46:44And I can see the moral quandary as as they say.
- 46:51Like what do you mean by that? Well, see, so it's it's you're,
- 46:56you're promoting this thing, this religious content.
- 47:00Obviously, like you said, it's about it's, there's nothing,
- 47:03it's, it's transparent, nothing's being hidden.
- 47:05But then you earning from that and how you choose to use that
- 47:11money. That could be under a microscope
- 47:13sort of thing. I just wondered if you'd ever
- 47:16thought about this. Well, yeah, because I realize
- 47:21being a Christian content creator, criticize it very
- 47:24heavily. Like they may criticize it for
- 47:27the way how you live. And when you say money, like if
- 47:31I was to receive money like from somebody, you know, and people
- 47:35are going to watch me for how I use the money, I've been
- 47:38criticized. But for me it would be very
- 47:43helpful and I would use the funds to help other people as
- 47:46well. So I don't know.
- 47:48It's that old expression, they always say.
- 47:49I get this from friends sometimes.
- 47:51Pay it forward. That's what they always say.
- 47:55All right, here's a crazy 1. You ready?
- 48:00All right, If Jesus were alive today, would he be a content
- 48:04creator? Of course he would, because all
- 48:08right, we know. We know.
- 48:10That's on. I know that's not a bit odd, but
- 48:13I think it would he would be a content creator because if you
- 48:16think about it, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, you can
- 48:20reach so many people by the click of a funny on your.
- 48:25You can reach millions of people and he can share good news with
- 48:28them in a positive way. So I think yes, he would.
- 48:32He's a very. I would.
- 48:35I wonder how successful he'd be. It makes me.
- 48:38I don't know. Have you ever watched Family
- 48:39Guy? It's a bit of a crazy I.
- 48:41Usually I enjoy the watching any more clips on it on YouTube?
- 48:44Yeah, I don't want you you. It's a bit crazy.
- 48:48There was an episode years ago where they kind of like didn't
- 48:53explore this exactly, but it was like, if Jesus came back, like
- 48:57what would happen kind of thing, like, you know, resurrected all
- 48:59that. And they cut the, the, the story
- 49:03they essentially told is that initially he would be humble and
- 49:07then he'd fall in with the wrong people and become a bit
- 49:10egotistical and lose himself and eventually have to be brought
- 49:13back by Peter and sort of just go back on the straight and
- 49:17narrow again. And it's interesting.
- 49:19I would wonder how he would cope with the modern day because I, I
- 49:27feel like it'd be crazy terrain. Like, OK, let's say it happened.
- 49:31Let's say tomorrow he just came, came back to life, right?
- 49:34This is resurrected and he, you know, he makes, he makes some
- 49:38content about it. He's like, hello, I've returned
- 49:41here I am now. Loads of people are going to be
- 49:44like, oh, that's AI. That'd be the first thing.
- 49:51The other contingent of people would be like, that's not really
- 49:55him. That's an imposter.
- 49:56Who's this guy? And then you'd have people that
- 50:00actually believe it and are like, Oh my God, this, oh, this
- 50:02is amazing. It's, you know, and I feel like
- 50:09in this current age and time that we live in, even if it was
- 50:13100% legit, this is the real deal.
- 50:15Come back to life. It's it's Jesus Christ.
- 50:18You know, there would still be people that would be like, Nope,
- 50:25lies, don't believe it, fake news, all that.
- 50:29Even if you see like The Walking on water stuff and you know, all
- 50:33of that because like, I'm not a religious person.
- 50:36But if I saw that, I'd be pretty like spooked.
- 50:39I'd be like, Oh my God. I'd, I'm not saying I'd become
- 50:42an overnight believer or whatever, but I would look at it
- 50:44and I'd be like, yeah, it's pretty hard to fake that.
- 50:48It's one of them. I just wonder.
- 50:55I don't think I've lost the plot now.
- 50:57Let's move it forward. What has religion taught you
- 51:01about life? What has religion taught me
- 51:03about I don't know how to put being a Christian as thought
- 51:12this world as I would put it is very it's very much different.
- 51:18It is morally evil and as time goes on you start to see
- 51:25manifest even more. You know where what is good
- 51:30becomes bad and what is bad becomes good.
- 51:33It has shown me being a child of God.
- 51:39This world really does need Jesus in this current age.
- 51:44It's really drifting more Into Darkness when I mean darkness.
- 51:50A lot of things that we, a lot of things in our current time
- 51:54that let me say 100 years ago would be considered immoral.
- 52:00It's considered normal, no. So that's what.
- 52:04I hate what you're saying. There's a lot.
- 52:06There's a lot that I agree on. Like, for instance, I think how
- 52:10sexualized society has become is kind of alarming.
- 52:14It's not to say that it's a bad thing, like talking about
- 52:20things. I don't, I don't think the the
- 52:22reverse is normal either. Like just sense complete
- 52:25censorship to the point where you don't talk about I think
- 52:28that's insanity. But when I walk down the street
- 52:31and I see billboards and, you know, the people are completely
- 52:35naked or close to being naked or music videos like that or you
- 52:42know, like Olympic ceremony stuff like that.
- 52:45I'm like, kids are going to see this, children will see this and
- 52:51it's just in everyday society. And I don't know if it's my age,
- 52:55you know, I'm in my 30s now. In years to come, I might become
- 52:59a dad. So maybe I don't, Maybe I'm just
- 53:00looking at it from like that perspective, but I don't, I was
- 53:05never really a fan of of that years ago.
- 53:07It always just kind of used to make me feel a bit uncomfortable
- 53:10because it's just feels like it's too much.
- 53:14And the argument is always or sex cells.
- 53:17That's why it's, you know, it's it always will.
- 53:20And yeah, that's true. But I feel as as human beings,
- 53:25we always take everything to the extreme, no matter what it is.
- 53:30We always take it to the extreme.
- 53:32And with what you were saying, I think there's some really valid
- 53:36arguments there that like we got to do a lot of introspection, I
- 53:39think, and look at like how society is and instead of
- 53:43fighting each other, like work together to try and figure it
- 53:46out, like, well, how can we maybe dial things back or, or
- 53:49how can we improve things? So my question to you is, OK,
- 53:53given that opinion, how do you think we can we can improve
- 53:56things? What?
- 53:57What could we do differently to kind of give future generations
- 54:02a chance? Well, I mean, if you want to fix
- 54:07the word problem, I mean collectively and individually,
- 54:11we need to look within ourself and wondering if if what we're
- 54:18like these things, we're sexuality like certain things
- 54:25I've been showing like perversionality.
- 54:30We need to come together as a people collectively, put a stop
- 54:34to it and individually I'm getting away, I'm getting A and
- 54:40individually we need to look within our own lives and like we
- 54:43need to clean up our like we need honestly hold on for what
- 54:51kind. Of pain always, man.
- 54:52You're doing what you're doing good, doing good.
- 54:55You're going to edit This sort already does go.
- 54:56OK, I like to keep these things in just because it's real.
- 55:00I rarely cut things out unless someone feels uncomfortable or
- 55:05someone, there's been a few times when I've had to cut
- 55:07things out where someone said some just crazy stuff and I'm
- 55:10like whoa. I normally let them know that
- 55:15I'm like, whoa, but but now you're good, man.
- 55:20I look in the middle a lot. I'm missing in this interview.
- 55:22That's all. I don't think so.
- 55:25I, I, I think for those, obviously this is first time
- 55:30you've been interviewed, is that right?
- 55:32Yes, I think you're doing very well.
- 55:36You know, I mean, don't forgot, I've interviewed a lot of people
- 55:40over the years and I've interviewed people where you
- 55:43could tell that maybe they're not comfortable talking or
- 55:47they're more introverted. And at the end of the day, you
- 55:51know, it's, it's never easy talking about things for the
- 55:55first time on mediums like this. You know, when I started making
- 56:00content, I had no idea how to talk in front of a camera.
- 56:07You know, I tried everything and I just everything kind of felt
- 56:11fake or just kind of inauthentic or weird somehow.
- 56:17But I kept at it and I kept doing it.
- 56:20And over time, you know, you don't even think about it.
- 56:22Like, I, you know, see the cameras there, but I don't
- 56:24really think about it. And that just comes through just
- 56:29doing something again and again and again and again to the point
- 56:32where you get comfortable in your own skin and you keep
- 56:35going. And I'm sure you've experienced
- 56:37that with your content creation journey so far.
- 56:40I have. There you go.
- 56:42And podcasts is no different, man.
- 56:45I know. Obviously the difference here is
- 56:47that in power dynamic, I hold the power as the interviewer,
- 56:51right? And that's a very, it's a
- 56:54precarious situation to be in. Like just the other day I was, I
- 56:58was watching it was like bad interviews with my with my
- 57:03friends and we were just looking at them and going like, this is
- 57:05ridiculous. Why would you ever ask them
- 57:07that? Why would you put that person in
- 57:09that position? There's been people who've said
- 57:12to me, Christian, you know, your podcast would do so well if
- 57:16you'd just be controversial, if you'd just ask people
- 57:19controversial stuff. And I'm like, first of all, I'm
- 57:22not interested in that. Just feels like, you know,
- 57:26there's an I want to focus on the positives.
- 57:28I don't want to focus on, I think there's plenty of negative
- 57:30stuff out there. You want to see the negatives,
- 57:33go outside, turn on your TV, you'll see it.
- 57:36It's everywhere. I want to focus on the
- 57:39positives. But also, I've never really felt
- 57:42it's very professional to to make your guests feel
- 57:45uncomfortable or to catch them out or, you know, I just feel
- 57:50like that's really low behaviour.
- 57:53And anytime I've ever seen someone get up and leave an
- 57:57interview or get a bit annoyed or a question, I'm like, yeah,
- 58:01you know, the interviewers should know better because
- 58:03they're the one in in control in that situation.
- 58:07But yeah, I digress. You do make a point, and it's
- 58:12all. Stabbed.
- 58:15I try not to too much. OK, should I continue?
- 58:19No, no. Do you want me?
- 58:22To of course man, if you're comfortable.
- 58:24OK, thank you for making me feel comfortable.
- 58:27Yeah, I've, I feel this a lot where, you know, sometime I may
- 58:32freeze up a bit when I'm on camera.
- 58:33But you do make a point. I should continue to press
- 58:37forward. Now, to answer your question,
- 58:40what you asked previous, what I should say collectively as a
- 58:44people, you know, we should come together and put us up to these
- 58:47things. You know, to put an end things
- 58:50be normalized like per version in the you know, and
- 58:55individually in our personal life, we need we need to
- 59:00separate ourself from what is perverted and just align ourself
- 59:04with what is truthful and what something that you want your
- 59:08children and you yourself to grow, you know, in an
- 59:11environment to be acceptable. So that's that's my aunt.
- 59:17So thank you. All right, let's have some fun
- 59:21with the final few questions. Questions I ask every guest.
- 59:25There we go. What's the worst advice you've
- 59:27ever received? OK, what's the worst advice?
- 59:31I receive a lot of bad advice. You see how many people say that
- 59:36as well? Every time I ask this question,
- 59:38they're like, well, there's been a lot.
- 59:41OK, I can I can tell you one right now when it comes under
- 59:45content creation, you know, some people message me.
- 59:48Well, I'm not slandering them, are gasping about them, but I'm
- 59:52telling you what I've experienced.
- 59:53They say if you're just if you just behave in this way and
- 59:56speak this way, then you probably will catch people
- 59:59attention. But I look within myself.
- 1:00:02Am I doing this because I'm desperate for attention or I'm
- 1:00:06just looking for? I just completely ignore that
- 1:00:09advice and continue being authentic and continue just
- 1:00:13being really my content. I don't fake it.
- 1:00:16Just as you said before. I just, yeah, I just can't
- 1:00:19continue doing that's. I guess that's that's what.
- 1:00:23I've and that's, that's the thing that will actually help
- 1:00:27you stand out and will work to serve you as well.
- 1:00:30That's the thing. What's the best advice you've
- 1:00:34ever received? Well, the best advice I ever I
- 1:00:40would is to I would say to see, I think looking back at my life
- 1:00:50for my for myself. The best advice someone ever
- 1:00:56told me was seeker to pray to God and ask him for answers
- 1:01:04because if I'm being real, God has been very good to me and it
- 1:01:10has been the the cornerstone. I receive other good advice, but
- 1:01:17this is something that I wanted. Them Well man, you done well.
- 1:01:25I don't know, I should have said that still.
- 1:01:27But that's not the only good of advice I've I've received as
- 1:01:30well. I received plenty of advice like
- 1:01:32stay in school, you know, study how you know go this.
- 1:01:38I received many good advice like a good advice I receive is to
- 1:01:42start counting which I and I've grown over what over 18,004?
- 1:01:51Which? You look back at his, his other,
- 1:01:55because if you think about it, you know the world needs people
- 1:01:59like me. They needs voices like me that
- 1:02:01will that's willing to speak up. And The thing is, you know, I'm
- 1:02:05a very shy. I'm very shy.
- 1:02:08I don't want to assure myself. I think you're doing a great job
- 1:02:10man. What's the biggest life lesson
- 1:02:13you've learned so far? The biggest life lesson I've
- 1:02:16learned is that life can be very harsh.
- 1:02:20You know people will see you go through the worst days in their
- 1:02:23life. They will not stop to help you.
- 1:02:26They don't care. They will just continue walking
- 1:02:31and that that show me one thing that this world is very is very
- 1:02:35unloving. It's not really kind that show
- 1:02:38me how reality is in that's why I'm not I'm not really too too
- 1:02:45trusting with anybody to share information with them because I
- 1:02:50realize all real. I will say to that though, there
- 1:02:54are the few people the exceptions to the rule.
- 1:02:58So while I for the most part, I agree with you there, I've had a
- 1:03:03lot of experiences like that. I literally said that earlier
- 1:03:06today to some friends that, you know, actually it was my partner
- 1:03:11that I said it to. I said when everything's going
- 1:03:14well, everyone wants to be your friend.
- 1:03:17When when things are going badly, it's like you're dead to
- 1:03:22the world. But.
- 1:03:25I mean, I've experienced that I went to sometimes in my life
- 1:03:29where people just completely overlooked me and it and
- 1:03:33sometime it just, it just makes me feel lonely at times because
- 1:03:38there's times where I just want to be at knowledge.
- 1:03:41I'm sure there's a few people though, in your life where that,
- 1:03:45you know, when you're at your lowest, they're there and they
- 1:03:47care, right? Right.
- 1:03:49And for those people who might not have that in their life
- 1:03:52right now, it will come. And when you find those people,
- 1:03:56hold on to those people type cherish those people because
- 1:03:59they are the exception to the rule and they are proof that a
- 1:04:04life is worth living, B. That people can be loving and
- 1:04:11selfless and caring and that there is a reason to believe in
- 1:04:16the human spirit, in kindness, in happiness.
- 1:04:19I mean, you know, it's why sometimes you see online like
- 1:04:24things like hope corps trending and there's, there's good people
- 1:04:28out there doing good things every single day, caring,
- 1:04:31sometimes even for just random strangers.
- 1:04:33You know, it's a, it's a mindset.
- 1:04:37And however difficult life becomes, however, however the
- 1:04:42world changes, there will always be good people that exist within
- 1:04:47it and you just have to find them.
- 1:04:51Yeah, you're right about that. They are good people.
- 1:04:54Like there's that show Gen. whether it's in my inner circle
- 1:05:01or even complete strangers and social media, there's people
- 1:05:06that reach out to me and say the most kindest thing to me and say
- 1:05:11I have impacted their lives now positively.
- 1:05:14Some call me and some say my message as you know done them
- 1:05:20very good so it really mean it means a lot to me.
- 1:05:25Final question for you today, Delma.
- 1:05:28Do you have any upcoming projects or final thoughts that
- 1:05:31you'd like to share with our listeners?
- 1:05:35I don't mean upcoming projects. My final thought for today.
- 1:05:41You know, in this crazy world we're living, you know, it's
- 1:05:44obvious the world is going through some, a lot of people
- 1:05:50are not prepared. I will see.
- 1:05:55Get to know God for yourself. You know how you know?
- 1:06:01Look within yourself, you know, and just sit down and reflect
- 1:06:04because things are not gonna be same after after all this, after
- 1:06:11all the events are not taking place, things are really gonna
- 1:06:14change. And it's debatable what there is
- 1:06:17for the the good or the bad. We can do is our best really
- 1:06:21keep going, keep being the best that we possibly can be.
- 1:06:27You know, it's like I people say that to me sometimes, like why
- 1:06:30don't you focus on all the terrible things in the world?
- 1:06:33Why don't you care? And I'm like, I do care.
- 1:06:34I just choose not to make that my main focal point in every
- 1:06:38single day because you would drive yourself nuts.
- 1:06:42You know, you're right. All we can do is within our
- 1:06:46sphere of influence is make sure that all of our actions are
- 1:06:49positive ones and affect those around us in a positive way.
- 1:06:53That's all we realistically can do.
- 1:06:55You know all, all I was going to say is, is it's that's, that can
- 1:07:04lead to the ripple effect. If you think about like, what
- 1:07:09was it? They call it 6° of separation
- 1:07:12where if you track far enough, you could like, you could find
- 1:07:15that you're connected to like big powerful people.
- 1:07:18But it all starts kind of like a domino effect.
- 1:07:21And I always think about that, like how OK, I was nice to this
- 1:07:26person today and then that person saw these people and then
- 1:07:30was nice to those people today because they're in a good mood
- 1:07:33and so on and so on and so on. And it's like, I know it sounds
- 1:07:35crazy, but like that small action that you made could lead
- 1:07:39to influencing others who then influence others, who then
- 1:07:43influence people who are change makers in some capacities.
- 1:07:47So like your actions, however small, might have profound
- 1:07:52impact on the rest of the world because of the ripple effect
- 1:07:57that's. Very much, yeah.
- 1:07:59That's. Yeah.
- 1:08:02Anyway, I think about it, you know what we're doing?
- 1:08:05Like what me and you are doing right now.
- 1:08:08It's like a ripple effect. We're inspiring people.
- 1:08:11We're inspiring the cost. Yeah, we are doing what we're
- 1:08:16doing is very impactful and. This is this is also why,
- 1:08:22because I've been asked like, what?
- 1:08:23Why do you still do this sort of content when it, you know, it
- 1:08:26doesn't reach that many people? You know, you're not getting
- 1:08:28millions of listeners, followers, doers, whatever.
- 1:08:32And I'm like, because you don't know, maybe that one change
- 1:08:38might actually save someone's life.
- 1:08:40That one show, that one clip, you don't know.
- 1:08:43It could make them laugh, it could make them cry, it could
- 1:08:46motivate them. It could give them a sense of
- 1:08:48perspective. You just don't know.
