- 2:51Speaker 3: meaning we welcome in our good friend Angie Gillenwater from
- 2:54Speaker 3: the GNAW Charleston Newmain Association with this week's Adopt Me
- 2:57Speaker 3: Please Pet of the Week, nGy, Good morning and good
- 3:01Speaker 3: morning all right. So our ped of the Week has
- 3:04Speaker 3: always picture posted over on my social media. You can
- 3:07Speaker 3: check that out on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook or
- 3:09Speaker 3: at Dave a seventy on X. It's a cat this
- 3:12Speaker 3: week and the cat's name is Apple TV. And I
- 3:17Speaker 3: was joking with I was joking with Ryan, our producer,
- 3:21Speaker 3: about that a little bit earlier, and I said, it's
- 3:23Speaker 3: a good thing. I feel you just looked around and
- 3:25Speaker 3: you came up with that name off the top of
- 3:27Speaker 3: your head. Had you been in the kitchen, the poor
- 3:28Speaker 3: cat's name could have been Toaster or something like that.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Coaster's actually a pretty good name.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Don't that. Don't hang that one on me. So so,
- 3:37Speaker 3: I mean, we all know what Apple TV is. Wh
- 3:40Speaker 3: why did you or somebody named the cat apple TV?
- 3:44Speaker 5: Well, so it actually was him, his siblings, and his mother.
- 3:48Speaker 5: So we also had Hulu, Disney Plus, Netflix, Hbmax, and
- 3:54Speaker 5: we're running out of names, so we're just calling them
- 3:56Speaker 5: everything at.
- 3:57Speaker 3: This point, I completely completely understand, all right. So we
- 4:02Speaker 3: got the picture posted over on on Dave Allen Radio
- 4:06Speaker 3: on Facebook and also at Dave a seventy on X.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Give us a lowdown on the cat known as Apple TV.
- 4:13Speaker 5: So Apple TV is not just any shelter kitten. He
- 4:16Speaker 5: is my foster kitten, so he's obviously the best kitten.
- 4:21Speaker 5: But he is just a little black tuxedo kitten. He's
- 4:24Speaker 5: very shy, but he warms up. He's a kitten, you know.
- 4:28Speaker 5: I used to do this, take him off and just
- 4:29Speaker 5: show him you're not gonna hurt him, and be very
- 4:32Speaker 5: slow and gentle with them. He's three months old. So
- 4:35Speaker 5: if you have been looking to a kitten to your life,
- 4:37Speaker 5: I know a lot of people have been asking when
- 4:39Speaker 5: we'll have kittens, now's the time we are overflowing with them.
- 4:45Speaker 5: But he's like overall, just a very sweet kitten. He
- 4:48Speaker 5: is good with up dogs, other cats, and he also
- 4:51Speaker 5: uses litterbox.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And he is three months old. Is that what you saim?
- 4:57Speaker 5: Yeah? Three months old ish?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah yeah. And because of the things that that
- 5:05Speaker 3: the Bissel Corporation does, uh, he the empty the shelter event,
- 5:09Speaker 3: he's only twenty bucks, right.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Correct, He's only twenty bucks, along with everyone in our
- 5:15Speaker 5: shelter puppies, adult dogs, adult cats, they're all twenty dollars.
- 5:19Speaker 3: And he will be neutered and and vaxxed before he
- 5:21Speaker 3: goes home with somebody.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Right correct. So even though adoption fees are lowered. We
- 5:27Speaker 5: are still including Spain, neoter vaccines, all the good stuff
- 5:30Speaker 5: you normally get in your typical regular adoption fee.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I mean it really it is a beautiful cat. And
- 5:36Speaker 3: the first cat that my wife and I had was
- 5:38Speaker 3: a tuxedo cat. And they're they're they're they're beautiful cats.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I mean they really are. We've kind of morphed into well,
- 5:44Speaker 3: the ones that have showed all of our cats to
- 5:46Speaker 3: show up astrays at our house. Please know more though,
- 5:48Speaker 3: We're good with what we have. Uh, the ones we
- 5:50Speaker 3: have now are I guess Russian blue. I mean I
- 5:53Speaker 3: don't I doubt that they're pure Russian blue. But they're
- 5:58Speaker 3: also beautiful cats as well. But Mexos depending on their
- 6:01Speaker 3: markings and where the black ends and the white begins,
- 6:05Speaker 3: or just are just beautiful, beautiful creatures.
- 6:08Speaker 5: They are. Tuxedo is my second favorite color on cats,
- 6:11Speaker 5: so they are stunning, all right.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I got to ask you what's the favorite then?
- 6:15Speaker 5: Oh, obviously the Russian blue gray color.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Okay, well, obviously you and I have a lot in
- 6:20Speaker 3: common when it comes to when it comes to that.
- 6:22Speaker 3: All right, So talk about some other things going on
- 6:25Speaker 3: the shelter we'll get back to Apple TV here in
- 6:27Speaker 3: a bit. I know you guys have always had a
- 6:28Speaker 3: great relationship with Petco and they seem to have come
- 6:32Speaker 3: to the rescue again.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Yes, pet COO Love gave us a one hundred thousand
- 6:38Speaker 5: dollars grant to continue our life saving mission and to
- 6:43Speaker 5: help with whatever we need help with, whether it's you know,
- 6:45Speaker 5: spain neuter supplies, building maintenance, whatever we need for our shelter.
- 6:51Speaker 5: That's what that grant is for, and we cannot be
- 6:54Speaker 5: more thankful for that. It comes at a time when
- 6:57Speaker 5: we really need it, I'll say that. And then we
- 7:00Speaker 5: got to celebrate getting that grant with our friends at
- 7:03Speaker 5: our local pet Coast store, so that was also really fun.
- 7:06Speaker 3: That's the home of a pet Go penhouse as you
- 7:08Speaker 3: call it, right, yes, but now now correct, the cat
- 7:11Speaker 3: that we had this week Apple TV, Apple TV has
- 7:13Speaker 3: been living in the Gillenwater penthouse right, correct?
- 7:17Speaker 5: Is I wouldn't quite say penthouse, but yeah.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Well, well you can't call it a cat house because
- 7:22Speaker 3: that has another connotation. But anyway, that's right, that's a
- 7:25Speaker 3: that's a show for another time, all right. Also, I
- 7:28Speaker 3: mentioned the event, the thing that's going on with Bissel
- 7:31Speaker 3: in Abissle. Uh just has done so many great things
- 7:35Speaker 3: across the nation when it comes to our animals and
- 7:39Speaker 3: shelters and whatever. And you also have a great relationship
- 7:43Speaker 3: as do all the shelters with the folks at Bissele.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Yes, and we are very thankful for Bissel. They actually
- 7:49Speaker 5: saw our post where we were extremely full and offered
- 7:52Speaker 5: us an emergency empty the Shelters event, which is really
- 7:56Speaker 5: exciting to know that they're there to help and they
- 7:59Speaker 5: are they on a whim to help as well, So
- 8:03Speaker 5: we are very thankful for Bissel. We always see a
- 8:05Speaker 5: lot of adoptions during Empty the Shelters. Shout out to
- 8:08Speaker 5: you Bistle Pet Foundation and Kathy Issel.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Absolutely. But Dave Allen showing five Adie Live is brought
- 8:14Speaker 3: to you in part by snap Fitness with a wide
- 8:16Speaker 3: array of professional wellness services including customized personal training, license
- 8:20Speaker 3: recovery experts of the staff and dietitians. Five great locations Charleston, Hurricane, Winfield, Barbersville,
- 8:25Speaker 3: and Milton. Visitsnapfitness dot com for details. How are we
- 8:28Speaker 3: looking on numbers, Miss Angie?
- 8:31Speaker 5: Still over five hundred? It doesn't it seems that, however
- 8:36Speaker 5: many we adopt out. There's just double back coming in
- 8:38Speaker 5: the door that needs us, so we're staying where we're at.
- 8:43Speaker 5: The good news day is that our staff is starting
- 8:45Speaker 5: to like learn how to roll with the punches with
- 8:48Speaker 5: this many animals in our care.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I mean, and that can't be easy because in the
- 8:51Speaker 3: past you've told us how you've got animals in offices,
- 8:55Speaker 3: and that's why fosters are so important for people like yourself.
- 9:00Speaker 3: You're an employee there, but I mean other people, and
- 9:02Speaker 3: I know you got plenty of them in the in
- 9:04Speaker 3: the community that are willing to foster some animals just
- 9:07Speaker 3: to get them out of there for a little while,
- 9:09Speaker 3: get them in a much safer and a much much
- 9:12Speaker 3: more calming home environment.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yes, God, we touched on this because fostering is probably
- 9:20Speaker 5: one of my favorite things to do, and I know
- 9:22Speaker 5: that a lot of our fosters also would tell you
- 9:24Speaker 5: the same thing. It's temporary pet ownership, which is great.
- 9:29Speaker 5: You can borrow an animal for a weekend, a week,
- 9:32Speaker 5: or you know, however long you want to. But not
- 9:35Speaker 5: only do you get to get them out of the shelter,
- 9:38Speaker 5: you know, take away stress for a little bit, you
- 9:41Speaker 5: also get to kind of see them feel better and
- 9:44Speaker 5: open up in your home as well.
- 9:46Speaker 3: All right, So the best thing to do is just
- 9:48Speaker 3: contact the folks at the shelter, you know, go to
- 9:49Speaker 3: their Facebook page, their website or whatever, tell them that
- 9:51Speaker 3: you would like to be a foster. I know you
- 9:53Speaker 3: had an event last week with the folks over at
- 9:56Speaker 3: to the Green Infusion over on the west end of Charleston,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and I'm trusting that that that went pretty well. Are
- 10:00Speaker 3: you guys out at about anywhere this weekend?
- 10:03Speaker 5: Not this weekend. My partner in crime, Seth, is on vacation,
- 10:08Speaker 5: so we didn't schedule anything for this weekend weekend. We
- 10:12Speaker 5: will be at Charleston.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Pride, all right, all right, Well, folks will be looking
- 10:16Speaker 3: for you there. Appreciate you being here, Angie. As always,
- 10:19Speaker 3: it is great to talk to you. Keep doing good
- 10:22Speaker 3: things and we'll talk again next week. Thanks a lot.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Sounds great.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I have a good one and she get atwater canaw Charleston.
- 10:28Speaker 3: You've made association again. The picture posted over on my
- 10:31Speaker 3: Facebook page Dave Allen Radio and also at Dave A
- 10:33Speaker 3: seventy on x Apple TV is our cat. It's a
- 10:37Speaker 3: kitten actually three months old, a bit shy at first,
- 10:40Speaker 3: but super sweet when she warms up to you. She
- 10:42Speaker 3: loves other cats and other dogs. She is litter trained,
- 10:46Speaker 3: and again thanks to the empty of the shelter event
- 10:48Speaker 3: from Bissel, he is only twenty dollars. He will be
- 10:52Speaker 3: newted in vaccine, a vaccinent vaccine vaccinated, that is before
- 10:55Speaker 3: he leaves. So go and check out Apple TV. Apple TV.
- 11:01Speaker 3: When are we talking to Jim Strawn here? Momentarily? Our
- 11:04Speaker 3: goal is to get Jim Strawn another cat, So all right,
- 11:08Speaker 3: so he's whispering to me a's in studio that says
- 11:11Speaker 3: that he is. He's got a plan, so we'll talk
- 11:13Speaker 3: to you about that in a little bit. We had
- 11:18Speaker 3: a text I'll try to get this to Angie said,
- 11:19Speaker 3: when can we see the floor plan for the new shelter.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I will try to get that information from miss gillan
- 11:25Speaker 3: Water and get an answer to that quick text here
- 11:28Speaker 3: because I'm going to need my listener's help on this.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I always need listener's help, says mister Allen. It's been
- 11:33Speaker 3: over a year that you had a female guest on
- 11:36Speaker 3: your show. At the end of the interview, you asked
- 11:38Speaker 3: her for her husband still worked on old pinball machines.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I believe. She said, yes, I have two old pinball
- 11:45Speaker 3: machines that need worked on. Could you ask if they
- 11:48Speaker 3: would agree to either give you their number or give
- 11:51Speaker 3: them my number and her name? And she gave me
- 11:52Speaker 3: her name a number live in Charles to listen to
- 11:54Speaker 3: both of your shows from day one. Thank you. I
- 11:57Speaker 3: don't remember that.
- 12:01Speaker 6: I actually do, Okay, Jim, I actually remember the segment,
- 12:04Speaker 6: but I don't remember that the numbers are the names.
- 12:06Speaker 3: But I remember that segment for some reason because I'm
- 12:08Speaker 3: a pinball fan. I love him, I love playing. Who
- 12:10Speaker 3: would I have had on the show that that their
- 12:13Speaker 3: husband worked on pinball? You can't remember who it was?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Just I was just import I got a guy that
- 12:17Speaker 3: I think I might be able to help at least
- 12:19Speaker 3: put me on the right track. And it's my good
- 12:21Speaker 3: friend Tommy Clay. Uh from Tommy would know Tommy would
- 12:25Speaker 3: Tommy knows everything. So just asking, I'll tell you, Uh no,
- 12:29Speaker 3: I'm kidding, I'm kidding it, So I may I may
- 12:31Speaker 3: have to uh have to contact my friend Tommy. All right.
- 12:34Speaker 3: So to the person that sent this in, Ronda is
- 12:36Speaker 3: her name, Ronda, I appreciate you. I don't remember the
- 12:38Speaker 3: particular segment, but I'm gonna throw it out there if
- 12:41Speaker 3: you are an everyday listener to the show and you
- 12:43Speaker 3: remember the segment I did, because I don't uh the
- 12:47Speaker 3: end of an interview I had. I had a female
- 12:49Speaker 3: on the show whose husband worked on pinball machines. Ronda,
- 12:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm linking one with the other here, Jim.
- 12:55Speaker 3: That's what we do. Buddy. You're a connector. You're the connector.

- 16:26Speaker 6: fifty five plus community.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I know we've had this. We're going to get fun
- 16:29Speaker 3: that I got to get. Now you qualify officially. Officially,
- 16:32Speaker 3: we were gonna lie about my age like I was
- 16:34Speaker 3: buying beer at seventeen, like I.
- 16:35Speaker 6: Did at Logan's final demo. I've not heard it described
- 16:38Speaker 6: as that it's the final demo Ryan on my birthday
- 16:42Speaker 6: in September. I want like some, I want some like
- 16:44Speaker 6: I may be the ULTI it's the final demo, the
- 16:47Speaker 6: Ultimate Final, Final sixty five in October. For me, the
- 16:50Speaker 6: medicare eligible that that could be the ultimate Final. But yeah, hey,
- 16:54Speaker 6: season twenty one is upon us. We launched it last week,
- 16:58Speaker 6: so this will be week number two of the Most
- 17:00Speaker 6: Auto Group Live and Levy got it in last week.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Had a blast modified start time five o'clock, Reverend Horton
- 17:06Speaker 6: heat was.
- 17:07Speaker 3: They were spectacular. The trio was just fun, entertaining. We
- 17:12Speaker 3: had a good crowd.
- 17:13Speaker 6: They played for seventy five minutes and then we threw
- 17:15Speaker 6: it up to the cycling. I suck around Dave last
- 17:17Speaker 6: week in town like Matt was in here after me
- 17:20Speaker 6: last week. I was age nine thirty nine. I've stayed
- 17:23Speaker 6: for the awards ceremony. It was so much fun watching
- 17:25Speaker 6: that criterion and those bicyclists. So we had a big
- 17:27Speaker 6: night in Charleston. But tonight more of a regular schedule.
- 17:31Speaker 6: The boulevard won't be blocked off with cyclists. It'll be
- 17:35Speaker 6: full of food vendors and sponsors and so forth. Kind
- 17:38Speaker 6: of a normal Friday night down at the Hadad Riverfront
- 17:41Speaker 6: Park in the shown bomb stage. The music starts at
- 17:43Speaker 6: six this year, so at six o'clock from the shown
- 17:46Speaker 6: Bomb stage, we have Magnolia Boulevard. They will bring their
- 17:49Speaker 6: signature blend of soul and rock and blues right down
- 17:52Speaker 6: there to the banks of the Great Kanawa a had
- 17:55Speaker 6: Ad Riverfront Park. They'll play for sixty minutes. We take
- 17:58Speaker 6: like a thirty minute break. We'll do the T shirts,
- 18:00Speaker 6: we'll do the announcements, we'll talk about the fifty to fifty,
- 18:03Speaker 6: we'll listen to the mayor, we'll listen to whoever the
- 18:06Speaker 6: charity is. So we'll spend some time and then at
- 18:09Speaker 6: seven point thirty there's a ninety minute set and I
- 18:12Speaker 6: cannot wait. I think we're gonna get it in. It's
- 18:14Speaker 6: gonna be damp all day. It's gonna be damp all day,
- 18:16Speaker 6: but I think we're gonna get a little window. Might
- 18:18Speaker 6: be chilly, but we're gonna get the no Bs Brass
- 18:21Speaker 6: Band in. Beginning at seven thirty. They'll do a ninety
- 18:24Speaker 6: minute set all the way until at nine o'clock. This
- 18:27Speaker 6: No Bs Brass Band, I can't wait. Eleven pieces, trombones, trumpets, sacksophones,
- 18:34Speaker 6: blues singers, a little Marty Grawy is a little New Orleans,
- 18:37Speaker 6: but they're from Virginia.
- 18:39Speaker 3: They're spectacular.
- 18:40Speaker 6: I've listened to a couple of their YouTube's very electric,
- 18:43Speaker 6: amazingly high energy. They just light up the stage. We
- 18:46Speaker 6: might not even need lights, they're so electrifying. It should
- 18:50Speaker 6: be a really good time.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Knock on wood. We get it in. I think we are.
- 18:54Speaker 6: I feel pretty good about it. Dress a little bit warm,
- 18:57Speaker 6: but I think we're gonna be okay. And pay attention
- 18:59Speaker 6: to the Facebook page Live on the Levy, Charleston. We'll
- 19:02Speaker 6: keep you posted on weather and when we're going to
- 19:05Speaker 6: have it. There could be a delay, but if there's
- 19:07Speaker 6: any way possible, the City of Charleston has always tried
- 19:09Speaker 6: to get the music in. If it's not possible, it's
- 19:12Speaker 6: not possible, dag on it.
- 19:14Speaker 3: But which kind of good I mean, we're not calling
- 19:16Speaker 3: it now, buddy, struction of the imagination. But you've really
- 19:19Speaker 3: since you've been coming and doing the same way, you've
- 19:21Speaker 3: had a really good run. Great run.
- 19:23Speaker 6: Even if we get an hour in, we'll wait even
- 19:26Speaker 6: un till seven thirty eight, eight fifteen, Okay, it start
- 19:30Speaker 6: at eight fifteen and give us an hour, so we'll
- 19:32Speaker 6: we always try to get music in. If you can
- 19:35Speaker 6: just wait us out, maybe get a byte deat, have
- 19:38Speaker 6: a beverage dehydrated, get your spirited beverage, great to have
- 19:41Speaker 6: four points by Sheridan, offer that. But we're going to
- 19:43Speaker 6: have food vendors on the boulevard.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Time do the food vendors generally start to saying there.
- 19:47Speaker 6: They'll get there about five thirty, so you may be
- 19:49Speaker 6: able to get a bite deat even at five thirty.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Some of them may not be, but they got to
- 19:54Speaker 6: be ready to go by six. Sure, many of them
- 19:56Speaker 6: when I'm walking around at five thirty, they're ready to go.
- 19:59Speaker 6: So if you get down there, I have thirty want
- 20:00Speaker 6: to get a bite, get you a beverage, and then
- 20:03Speaker 6: we'll start music at six o'clock again with the Magnolia
- 20:05Speaker 6: Boulevard and then at seven thirty for ninety minutes. I
- 20:09Speaker 6: really can't wait. No BS Brass Band a little bit
- 20:12Speaker 6: different this year. You'll hear me talk about it as
- 20:14Speaker 6: I can throughout the season, but we're gonna do the
- 20:17Speaker 6: fifty to fifty drawing instead of eight thirty five, it'll
- 20:20Speaker 6: happen at nine, right after the headliner is over at nine.
- 20:24Speaker 6: So we're gonna do the fifty to fifty drawing so
- 20:26Speaker 6: we have more time to sell the fifty to fifty tickets,
- 20:28Speaker 6: which obviously helps our CCR, Covenant House, sojourn Or shelter
- 20:32Speaker 6: Man and Meal and KBC Collective, So a little more
- 20:35Speaker 6: time to maybe get the pot up a little bigger.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Then we'll do the drawing at nine.
- 20:39Speaker 6: We've raised one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars in
- 20:42Speaker 6: the twenty seasons that we've been doing this great fun
- 20:45Speaker 6: for a great cause, And tonight, Dave, you may have
- 20:47Speaker 6: talked about it already, you may have had somebody in.
- 20:49Speaker 6: I'm sorry if I missed it, but it's also a
- 20:51Speaker 6: festival weekend, so this is in conjunction with Festival. This
- 20:54Speaker 6: is a partner with Live on Levee tonight, so it's
- 20:56Speaker 6: Festival Live on Levee. I show you yesterday about love
- 21:00Speaker 6: when our city becomes a work of art. The city
- 21:03Speaker 6: is just doing a great job with so many fun
- 21:05Speaker 6: things to do this weekend, I mean last weekend. We
- 21:09Speaker 6: said it last weekend. Oh my gosh. There's so much
- 21:11Speaker 6: going on, same thing this weekend, tonight tomorrow. First of all,
- 21:15Speaker 6: Charlie West, we got Siphany Sunday, dude, we got things
- 21:18Speaker 6: to do. If you like music, if you like crowds,
- 21:19Speaker 6: if you like being out with people, enjoying beverages and
- 21:22Speaker 6: having a bite, eat and fellowship. Charleston, West, Virginia is
- 21:25Speaker 6: a pretty hoigh spot to be this weekend. Not really
- 21:28Speaker 6: temperature wise hot, but it'll be.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Fun to be. It's gonna get that way by next week.
- 21:32Speaker 3: It's gonna be warm next week. How which is where
- 21:35Speaker 3: you know, I guess we should be older adults should
- 21:37Speaker 3: protect themselves agains severe respiratory disease. Talk to your doctor
- 21:40Speaker 3: about flu, COVID nineteen and RSV vaccines, riskless, do more,
- 21:43Speaker 3: Get started Vaccines dot gov paid for by the US
- 21:46Speaker 3: Department of Health and Human Services. Yeah, I mean I
- 21:48Speaker 3: had to. I had Bob Thompson on the show earlier
- 21:50Speaker 3: this week. Is he playing tomorrow night over you see
- 21:52Speaker 3: by chance? Yeah? Oh yeah, okay, he's part of it. Yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 3: oh yeah he was.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah, they'll be playing with Ryan Kennedy and the whole
- 21:58Speaker 3: group over there and will be a big part of
- 22:01Speaker 3: that as well. And we've got all the information about
- 22:04Speaker 3: the Charlie West Music Fest.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Uh.
- 22:06Speaker 3: They're doing a happy hour. That's something that interests you
- 22:08Speaker 3: and I. They're they're doing a happy hour and I
- 22:10Speaker 3: love it. It's not just an hour, it's two. Yes,
- 22:12Speaker 3: happy hours, go bigger, go bigger, go go home instead
- 22:16Speaker 3: of it. But I'll be I'll be over there tomorrow.
- 22:18Speaker 3: It'll be fun. And actually got some info from the
- 22:20Speaker 3: folks at the Symphony.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Uh.
- 22:22Speaker 3: They reached out to me a couple of days ago
- 22:24Speaker 3: to remind people about Symphony Sunday, which is happening over
- 22:28Speaker 3: there at the University of Charleston on Sunday. Uh, And
- 22:31Speaker 3: I just I didn't really have enough space to put
- 22:33Speaker 3: them on this week. I said, well, let me know
- 22:34Speaker 3: about what's going on in the future, and so we
- 22:36Speaker 3: got that going on. I mean there's stuff everre the
- 22:41Speaker 3: one of the nation's largest pickleball tournaments has happened in Nitro.
- 22:44Speaker 3: They're gonna these courts are nice, by the way, and
- 22:46Speaker 3: they're gonna cut the ribbon on the indoor facility. You
- 22:49Speaker 3: got two of the top pickleball players anywhere in America
- 22:54Speaker 3: that are there, the Michael Jordan uh Susannah uh uh
- 23:00Speaker 3: a bar. I think I had her on the show.
- 23:01Speaker 3: I should remember that on the show yesterday. She's known
- 23:05Speaker 3: as the Michael Jordan pickleball players, and she's gonna be there.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Didn't hear that? Kind of like you're known as the
- 23:09Speaker 3: Michael Jordan of Marketers, Right, Yeah, that's that's yeah, I'm
- 23:14Speaker 3: MJ for sure. Hello. But yeah, we talk about it
- 23:18Speaker 3: all the time.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Dave.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Just always something. Just just look in the paper, listen
- 23:23Speaker 3: to this show.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Check out HD Media, check out any TV station, check
- 23:27Speaker 6: out any of your sisters stations here. Just listen to
- 23:29Speaker 6: what's going on and you're like, Wow, there's always something new.
- 23:32Speaker 6: We have a we have a guest that used to
- 23:34Speaker 6: you might even remember our good friend Bob Butterfield. Bob's
- 23:37Speaker 6: flying up from Florida for this weekend for the Levy,
- 23:40Speaker 6: for the Charlie West for the Symphony Sunday, and you
- 23:43Speaker 6: mentioned Bob Thompson. I was in Huntington last night listening
- 23:45Speaker 6: to the president of Western Ginia West and he was
- 23:47Speaker 6: a jazz guy, jazz major, music major, James Moore. Very well,
- 23:51Speaker 6: I'm listening to him and he has he he had
- 23:53Speaker 6: to drop Bob Thompson's name. Bob Thompson is a blues
- 23:57Speaker 6: jazz legend in the world and he just happens to
- 24:00Speaker 6: be in Chuckytown.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, he just and his story is fascinating because he's
- 24:05Speaker 3: not from here, but as the old thing goes, he
- 24:06Speaker 3: got here as quickly as he could. Actually, he's made
- 24:08Speaker 3: this his home here. And I mean it's not an
- 24:11Speaker 3: event unless Bob Thompson's love Night loved me some Bob
- 24:13Speaker 3: Toomas I was. I was a very very happy to
- 24:16Speaker 3: have him. I've known him for a number of years,
- 24:17Speaker 3: but first time I'd ever had him on the show.
- 24:19Speaker 6: You always love to tell stories because you're getting up
- 24:21Speaker 6: there old in age nineteen seventy eight, I'm a youngster.
- 24:26Speaker 6: I'm working at the old Elk River Holiday Inn for
- 24:28Speaker 6: the summer before I go back to Western New Western
- 24:30Speaker 6: College and on Sunday nights from five to eight it
- 24:34Speaker 6: was a jam session. I have no idea who these
- 24:36Speaker 6: people were. I'm seventeen years old waiting to turn eighteen,
- 24:40Speaker 6: and every Sunday night Ky Haynes would come in Bob
- 24:43Speaker 6: Thompson and Sandy Patty. So I met this guy named Bob,
- 24:47Speaker 6: and I just got to know Bob. I didn't know
- 24:49Speaker 6: who Bob was. Bob Thompson. I've known Bob Thompson since
- 24:51Speaker 6: nineteen seventy eight. We have been really pretty good buddies.
- 24:55Speaker 6: And what a legend. Kay Haynes rest his soul. And
- 24:58Speaker 6: it was just a great Sunday night all summer long.
- 25:00Speaker 6: I'm thinking, how fortunate am I at seventeen to be
- 25:03Speaker 6: working with these guys. I'm running, I'm running served, I'm
- 25:06Speaker 6: running drinks, I'm running bus boy, I'm serving, I'm serving,
- 25:09Speaker 6: I'm running room service. And there's Bob and the place
- 25:11Speaker 6: was packed. Bob was a legend in nineteen seventy eight.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Oh sure, he was. Absolutely. I got this idea and
- 25:17Speaker 3: we've been knocking it around back and forth with frequent
- 25:21Speaker 3: guests of the show. Former Mayor Danny Jones loved to
- 25:24Speaker 3: sit down and and I you know, I'm a little
- 25:28Speaker 3: bit younger than you guys, and plus I'm not from
- 25:30Speaker 3: Charleston originally, but I would love to sit down and
- 25:33Speaker 3: just whether it's a podcast whatever, and just you guys
- 25:36Speaker 3: just tell stories about Charles's.
- 25:37Speaker 6: Story after story after story after story. I think Eric
- 25:40Speaker 6: did it a couple of years ago. He's working with
- 25:42Speaker 6: the festival, and we did like a podcast, but it
- 25:46Speaker 6: wasn't it was a It was a It was a
- 25:49Speaker 6: boys down memory lane of baseball in Charleston. So he
- 25:52Speaker 6: interviewed people from the Senators, from the Charlie's that was me.
- 25:56Speaker 6: He interviewed people went to the Alley Cats and all
- 25:59Speaker 6: the way up until now. But it was just a
- 26:01Speaker 6: historical voice and a view of baseball and Charleston. That
- 26:06Speaker 6: kind of stuff fascinates me and I love to listen
- 26:08Speaker 6: to That's You're onto Something to Dave, You're onto Something.
- 26:11Speaker 6: Just get some older folks have been from Charleston in
- 26:13Speaker 6: her whole life. It would they would flow with story
- 26:16Speaker 6: after story after story of things and people and buildings
- 26:19Speaker 6: and individuals and just unique people and just fun, fun
- 26:23Speaker 6: things that happened that people are like, Wow, that's pretty cool.
- 26:26Speaker 6: I think I think you're onto something.
- 26:27Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to live on the level.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Let's get back tonight at six o'clock hat Ed Riverfront Park.
- 26:32Speaker 6: The music will start with Magnolia Boulevard. They'll play for
- 26:35Speaker 6: sixty minutes, little soul, little rock, and then at seven
- 26:38Speaker 6: thirty folks, try to get down there. If you can't
- 26:40Speaker 6: get there for Magnolia, get there for the No BS
- 26:44Speaker 6: Brass Band. They'll start at seven point thirty, high energy, electrifying,
- 26:48Speaker 6: eleven piece band. It's you know, the trombones and the
- 26:51Speaker 6: trumpets and all the wind and a great New Orleans sound.
- 26:55Speaker 6: No Brass, No BS Brass Band. And then we'll do
- 26:58Speaker 6: the drawing at nine o'clock. Regular week. Lots of food vendors,
- 27:02Speaker 6: lots of sponsors on the boulevard, lots of things happening
- 27:05Speaker 6: down there. Get down, enjoy the free concert offered by
- 27:09Speaker 6: the City of Charleston, presented by Moses Auto Group, and
- 27:12Speaker 6: of course all the stations over here at w b
- 27:15Speaker 6: RC Media.
- 27:16Speaker 3: All right, thank you, buddy, Jimmy, appreciate you being here.

- 30:27Speaker 3: a text to the show waiting on me when I
- 30:28Speaker 3: got here that said, mister Allen, it's been over a
- 30:31Speaker 3: year that you had a female guest on your show.
- 30:33Speaker 3: At the end, you ask her if her husband still
- 30:35Speaker 3: worked on old pinball machines. I believe she said yes.
- 30:39Speaker 3: And this lady who texted me his name is Rohnda.
- 30:41Speaker 3: She said, I've got two old pinball machines that need
- 30:43Speaker 3: worked on. Can you try to help me? And I say,
- 30:47Speaker 3: you know what, I do what I can, And I
- 30:49Speaker 3: threw it out there to the listeners, and one of

- 31:20Speaker 3: Charlee wasn't giving out of the textters phone number three
- 31:23Speaker 3: oh four two two two thirty forty. So if Roda,
- 31:28Speaker 3: if you're listening, that's that may not have been the
- 31:29Speaker 3: person I had on the air. I don't think it was. However, Uh,
- 31:33Speaker 3: this is a business in Beaver, which is in Raleigh

- 31:40Speaker 3: I hope that helps. I'm still trying to find out

- 32:02Speaker 3: V one hundred is here. You may need that towl tonight, buddy,
- 32:05Speaker 3: I may. I hope the rain holds off. I'm camping
- 32:09Speaker 3: for kids, and you know I'm t minus five hours.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I've got a lot of prep work I'm doing behind
- 32:14Speaker 3: the scenes. You text me, You're like you're up and
- 32:16Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, let me stop what I'm doing. You're
- 32:18Speaker 3: end down. I know you're always on time. I was
- 32:20Speaker 3: just reminded you because I know in our world it's
- 32:22Speaker 3: very easy to get busy and lose track and time.
- 32:25Speaker 3: So for those that we talked about it before, but
- 32:26Speaker 3: those who aren't familiar with what you are doing, what
- 32:29Speaker 3: are you doing and why are you doing?
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:31Speaker 12: So here at WVRC Media, we're we love the work
- 32:36Speaker 12: that WVU Medicine Children's does. WVU Medicine Children's never turns
- 32:41Speaker 12: a child away, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
- 32:44Speaker 12: So I've shared my cousin Ainslie, she suffered an eye
- 32:49Speaker 12: injury playing soccer. She utilized the facility at WVU Medicine Children.
- 32:54Speaker 12: So I always say, everybody knows somebody that has used
- 32:57Speaker 12: WVU Medicine Children So it's a very special place in
- 33:00Speaker 12: my heart. And here with our company, we're great partners
- 33:04Speaker 12: with WVU Medicine Children. So I'm camping out to raise
- 33:07Speaker 12: ten thousand dollars for WVU.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Medicine, dropping a bucket for our listeners.
- 33:10Speaker 13: Man.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 12: If everybody, every listener gives one dollar, I'll be out
- 33:14Speaker 12: of there by five yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 3: And so you're going to start this at three o'clock.
- 33:18Speaker 3: And where are you going to be set up at
- 33:20Speaker 3: the ballpark?
- 33:20Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm going to be right by the main gate,
- 33:22Speaker 12: so when they lock me in, when once the game
- 33:25Speaker 12: is over, I can go to the fence, go to
- 33:28Speaker 12: the gate and grab donations if anybody swings by. But
- 33:32Speaker 12: you don't have to even come to the ballpark. You
- 33:33Speaker 12: can come to the ballpark. I'm not saying don't come
- 33:36Speaker 12: to the ballpark, but I'm saying I can't make it tonight.
- 33:38Speaker 12: Go to the website V one hundred at dot fm
- 33:40Speaker 12: for the link to give. It'll be on the V
- 33:42Speaker 12: one hundred Facebook page. I'll be doing check ins on
- 33:45Speaker 12: Facebook Live. I'll keep you updated on my camping journey
- 33:48Speaker 12: on Facebook.
- 33:49Speaker 3: All right, And this is I mean, this is such
- 33:51Speaker 3: a great idea, you know that you had, and we
- 33:54Speaker 3: turned it over to our listeners, the greatest listeners in
- 33:55Speaker 3: the world. That's what we have here. And I'm going
- 33:57Speaker 3: no matter what we're doing, our listeners step up to
- 34:01Speaker 3: the plate. And we don't want to hit them with
- 34:02Speaker 3: too much at once. But you're going to hear us
- 34:04Speaker 3: talking about this next week. We are doing next week
- 34:07Speaker 3: a drop your snacks We've done, drop your socks, We've done,
- 34:10Speaker 3: you know, all these different things. We're a great number
- 34:13Speaker 3: of kids, as you know at Logan go go home
- 34:16Speaker 3: for the summer, especially without food. Right, And so we
- 34:20Speaker 3: are going to have another one of these things where
- 34:23Speaker 3: we ask you to bring stuff. And it's next Thursday, Thursday, Thursday,
- 34:28Speaker 3: next Thursday in our parking lot, just like we always do.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Seven am to six pm. All of our stations will
- 34:32Speaker 3: be out there and we're just asking people to bring
- 34:35Speaker 3: nonperishable food times. Yeah, and we are going to get
- 34:38Speaker 3: those to those kids in need to make sure that
- 34:41Speaker 3: they have some snacks this summertime. So yeah, again I
- 34:43Speaker 3: bring that up now, not to confuse the two things,
- 34:45Speaker 3: but so people realize that we're always out there doing
- 34:48Speaker 3: stuff in the community. That's not why we do it
- 34:49Speaker 3: for the recognition. We do it because we like to
- 34:52Speaker 3: be good people and we love to give back. Yeah, exactly,
- 34:54Speaker 3: that's what we do here, all right. So people going
- 34:57Speaker 3: to the Dirty Birds ball game, what what And I
- 34:59Speaker 3: don't want gonna put any bad juju out there, you know,
- 35:02Speaker 3: for Jill and Jay and the folks over with the
- 35:04Speaker 3: Dirty Birds. What if the game is rained out, then
- 35:07Speaker 3: you're just gonna be pretty lonely. I guess, so, I guess.
- 35:09Speaker 12: So I have as a group text of friends who
- 35:12Speaker 12: are gonna alternate with me this evening. Uh huh, so
- 35:15Speaker 12: it may just be me and my friends having a
- 35:17Speaker 12: party at the at the ballparks I'm camping for kids.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Can see you and that those are hooligan friends of
- 35:22Speaker 3: yours out there running around the bases and hitting up
- 35:25Speaker 3: the concession stand. And uh, well we used to have
- 35:28Speaker 3: a keg here, but it's not here anymore. That's to
- 35:31Speaker 3: not mentioned any names, Brian Hughes. Uh but but but
- 35:34Speaker 3: just saying, you know, but it's gonna be it's gonna
- 35:36Speaker 3: be a great event. And and and God bless you
- 35:38Speaker 3: for what you're doing out there for these kids. And
- 35:40Speaker 3: as you said, everybody knows somebody. You may not think
- 35:43Speaker 3: you do, but you're only like one or two people
- 35:45Speaker 3: away from knowing some as I just shared my story.
- 35:49Speaker 12: So there you go.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so so again, go to the the link will
- 35:53Speaker 3: be up. It's up now.
- 35:55Speaker 12: Okay, I've also made it not to throw more numbers out,
- 35:58Speaker 12: but you can text the word kids to the V
- 36:01Speaker 12: one hundred line three zero four three, four five eight
- 36:04Speaker 12: one zero zero and it will give you a link
- 36:06Speaker 12: as well to donate, so you can do that there.
- 36:08Speaker 12: Or if you're coming to the Dirty Words Baseball game,
- 36:10Speaker 12: you can. And even if you're not coming to the game, right,
- 36:13Speaker 12: I mean, even if it's like you know, because I
- 36:15Speaker 12: guess they're playing tomorrow night, it's sometime during the day,
- 36:18Speaker 12: you're still going to be there there. I mean, you're
- 36:19Speaker 12: hopefully to not be there, right, but I will be
- 36:22Speaker 12: there till our's ten thousand dollars.
- 36:23Speaker 3: My weekend is my calendar is blocked out, all right,
- 36:26Speaker 3: So we don't want to leave him there so because
- 36:29Speaker 3: he's got to be back to work on Monday.
- 36:31Speaker 12: So and it's it's nine forty three. So if you're
- 36:34Speaker 12: your business want to get involved, you still have time.
- 36:36Speaker 12: You can call our office and ask for Sean. And
- 36:38Speaker 12: I'm blanking on our office number right now, three oh
- 36:40Speaker 12: four three four to two eight one three.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Well yeah, there you go. Sorry, more numbers. There's so
- 36:45Speaker 3: many numbers out here as you're sitting here with the
- 36:47Speaker 3: numbers V one hundred. So all right, Logan, I appreciate
- 36:51Speaker 3: you man, and we will wish you the best of
- 36:53Speaker 3: luck and Hopefully we'll get you out of there before Monday,
- 36:56Speaker 3: because somebody's got to do the drive that you do
- 36:58Speaker 3: in the afternoon. Fingers Crow, thank you, Davi. Yeah, all right,
- 37:01Speaker 3: thanks ma'am. Logan Scott. He'll be over there starting at
- 37:03Speaker 3: about three today and even if the game's rained out,
- 37:06Speaker 3: he's going to be there. I'll be there. He'll be there,
- 37:08Speaker 3: all right. He's raising money for WU Children's all right,
- 37:11Speaker 3: let's get back to this situation on the pinball machines. Man,
- 37:15Speaker 3: you talk about you know ADHD Theater. This is what
- 37:18Speaker 3: this show has been today. I mentioned that we had
- 37:22Speaker 3: a text into the show from Ronda that said, about
- 37:26Speaker 3: a year ago, I had a female guest on my
- 37:29Speaker 3: show and at the end of the interview we talked
- 37:31Speaker 3: about her husband working on old pinball machines and she
- 37:35Speaker 3: was trying to figure out because Ronda has two old
- 37:38Speaker 3: pinball machines that need worked on. I was drawing a blank.
- 37:42Speaker 7: As so it is.
- 37:43Speaker 3: But again, the greatest listeners in the world. We had
- 37:46Speaker 3: one person that called up our producer Ryan and another
- 37:49Speaker 3: one that texts it to the show. I do believe
- 37:52Speaker 3: we have the person, and it was Delegate Kathy hes Krauss,
- 37:57Speaker 3: her husband Mark, who I know very well. Great Mark
- 38:01Speaker 3: is the one. According to a call that Ryan got
- 38:04Speaker 3: and a text that I just got to the show,
- 38:08Speaker 3: it apparently was the husband of Delegate Kathy Hess Krause,
- 38:12Speaker 3: based out of the Putnam County area. So, Ronda, if
- 38:16Speaker 3: you are listening, I'll tell you what I am going
- 38:18Speaker 3: to do. I am going to put you in touch
- 38:23Speaker 3: with Delegate Krause and her husband Mark. And that's two people.
- 38:27Speaker 3: That's two people that have said that. So I'm gonna
- 38:29Speaker 3: go ahead and go with that. That is the husband
- 38:31Speaker 3: of Delegate Kathy hes Krause, apparently who works on pinball machines.
- 38:34Speaker 3: If not, then Mark Krause just got a new hobby
- 38:37Speaker 3: because he's gonna start working on pinball machine. Text. Okay,
- 38:45Speaker 3: that's a question for logan Scott. I'll get you an answer.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I'll get you an answer on that text. Let me
- 38:50Speaker 3: see here. Text said I do not work on pinball machines.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Would be willing to give it a try at the
- 38:59Speaker 3: right price, of course, of course. But Dave Villin showing

- 43:14Speaker 3: For being here. Big event tomorrow over in the Land
- 43:17Speaker 3: of the Generals, and I'm going to be there representing
- 43:19Speaker 3: our sister Station ninety eight to seven of Mouth and
- 43:21Speaker 3: tell us about this car show you got going on tomorrow.
- 43:25Speaker 9: So this car show was an event that we decided
- 43:27Speaker 9: to plan last year. Our second annual is tomorrow at
- 43:30Speaker 9: ten am. I'm an ends at three pm and it
- 43:33Speaker 9: is between the police station and the Winfield Bridge. All
- 43:37Speaker 9: proceeds made from this carto go to the Putnam County
- 43:39Speaker 9: Animal Shelter. And we're going to have a huge amount
- 43:43Speaker 9: of vendors and a huge amount of food trucks, and
- 43:45Speaker 9: we have so many door prizes to give away too.
- 43:49Speaker 9: We're also going to have a dog show that kicks
- 43:50Speaker 9: off at one thirty pm, so any participant that wants
- 43:53Speaker 9: to bring their dog and maybe their dog can go
- 43:55Speaker 9: home with the prize queue.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Well cool, that's good stuff. You got the pats, you
- 43:59Speaker 3: got the food, and you got the car cars. You
- 44:00Speaker 3: got me locked into this thing. When I talked to
- 44:03Speaker 3: you and Mayor about it earlier this week, I said,
- 44:04Speaker 3: you got dogs, you got food, you've got cars. Count
- 44:07Speaker 3: us in and again I'll be there with their sisters
- 44:09Speaker 3: Station ninety eight seven the Mouth and looking forward to
- 44:11Speaker 3: tomorrow's tendul three. Now, if people want to can they
- 44:13Speaker 3: just show up. Do they need to register ahead of
- 44:15Speaker 3: time with their vehicles or what?
- 44:18Speaker 9: We do have a tenilla registration just for vehicles, but
- 44:21Speaker 9: the whole events free. So if you just want to
- 44:22Speaker 9: show up and come check out the cars and animals.
- 44:25Speaker 9: The Pundam County Shelter will also have some adoptable cats
- 44:28Speaker 9: and dogs there as well, so you can just stop by,
- 44:31Speaker 9: donate to the shelter, maybe even go home with a
- 44:34Speaker 9: new dog.
- 44:35Speaker 3: You never know, you never know are there because I've
- 44:38Speaker 3: done a lot of car shows. My brother in law's
- 44:39Speaker 3: a he's a car show guy, and actually he's going
- 44:42Speaker 3: to be there tomorrow I understand as well, so he
- 44:44Speaker 3: and I will be rolling in there tomorrow. But at
- 44:46Speaker 3: the same time, with certain some some car shows have
- 44:50Speaker 3: you know, we only want this kind of car, we
- 44:52Speaker 3: want that kind of truck or whatever. Do you have
- 44:53Speaker 3: any restrictions or anything like that or anyone that you're
- 44:56Speaker 3: particularly looking for. Is it open to just about any kind?
- 45:00Speaker 9: It's open to just a dot anyone who wants to
- 45:01Speaker 9: gun Okay, just trying to raise money for the shelter,
- 45:04Speaker 9: all right, And again.
- 45:05Speaker 3: There is a ten dollars registration fee for that to
- 45:07Speaker 3: make sure that you know that. And I would imagine
- 45:09Speaker 3: that if somebody just shows up and they're not a
- 45:11Speaker 3: car show person, or that they don't bring a car,
- 45:14Speaker 3: but they just want to come and they want to look,
- 45:15Speaker 3: they want to galk at the cars, which many of
- 45:17Speaker 3: us like to do that, or they want to take
- 45:18Speaker 3: advantage of the food trucks and hang out with the
- 45:21Speaker 3: animals and whatever. You will be accepting donations, right, oh, yes,
- 45:25Speaker 3: of course.
- 45:26Speaker 9: And anyone who donates will have an opportunity to write
- 45:29Speaker 9: their name and put it in a bucket, and at
- 45:31Speaker 9: the end of the show, we'll drive draw their name
- 45:33Speaker 9: out and they can win.
- 45:34Speaker 5: A prize as well.
- 45:35Speaker 3: What kind of cool prizes we got? Are you at
- 45:37Speaker 3: Liberty the same?
- 45:39Speaker 9: It's a secret out.
- 45:41Speaker 3: It's a secret you'll find out when you get there.
- 45:43Speaker 9: They'll find out there, all right.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Haley, where's the best place for me people to learn
- 45:47Speaker 3: more and get more information about the events tomorrow?
- 45:50Speaker 5: I have a.
- 45:50Speaker 9: Facebook event up and I've been updating it pretty much
- 45:53Speaker 9: every day with information, all right, And.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Again, describe where the location is. Winfield's not that big,
- 45:59Speaker 3: but just so people know where it is.
- 46:01Speaker 9: It is right beside the police station and in between
- 46:04Speaker 9: the Winfield Bridge. It is that huge grass you want
- 46:06Speaker 9: right there, all right, so you.
- 46:08Speaker 5: Won't be able to miss it.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I was going to say, you just look for all
- 46:10Speaker 3: the cool cars out there. And again, if you're familiar
- 46:12Speaker 3: with that area at all, it's real easy to find
- 46:14Speaker 3: because you get city Hall, you get the police station,
- 46:16Speaker 3: you got McDonald's, you got everything kind of right there
- 46:18Speaker 3: of the speedway. Everything's kind of right there before you
- 46:20Speaker 3: get to the bridge. So that's where the event will
- 46:22Speaker 3: be ten toal three tomorrow and again I'll be out
- 46:24Speaker 3: there with their sister Station ninety eight seven of the
- 46:26Speaker 3: Mountha and Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock. Looking forward to
- 46:29Speaker 3: seeing that, Haley, great job and putting this thing together.
- 46:32Speaker 3: You and Mayor Barrett and all the fine folks over there,
- 46:34Speaker 3: we'll see you tomorrow. Thanks a lot, all right, thank you,
- 46:37Speaker 3: all right, Haley Morgan. Again, the event is tomorrow. It's
- 46:40Speaker 3: a fundraiser for the Putnam County Animal Shelter. I will
- 46:42Speaker 3: be there, as I said, representing our sister Station ninety
- 46:45Speaker 3: eight seven the Mountain, Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock. The
- 46:47Speaker 3: event is happening tomorrow ten till three just in the

- 47:22Speaker 3: to remind us that they've got their pickleball events going
- 47:26Speaker 3: on this weekend as well in Nitro. I mean, like
- 47:29Speaker 3: the biggest pickleball tournament that's like, I'm going to say
- 47:31Speaker 3: it east of the Mississippi. Somebody's got to tell me
- 47:34Speaker 3: different that's going on. They're going to do the ribbon
- 47:36Speaker 3: cutting of the indoor pickleball facilities there today as well.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Text says, oh no, Dave Trump, is Saint China violated
- 47:44Speaker 3: the trade deal? Is it taco time again? Look who's here?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, Hide the women and children and the
- 47:52Speaker 3: valuables and the meat and cheese products Dave Wilson, mainly
- 47:56Speaker 3: the meat and cheese. How you doing, man, I'm great.
- 47:59Speaker 3: How are you? You're in town for the softball doings?
- 48:02Speaker 3: I take it right, yes, all right? How we looking
- 48:05Speaker 3: weather wise out there? Awful? There's this big blog. Just
- 48:09Speaker 3: looked at the radar.
- 48:10Speaker 17: There's this big blob of green mixed with orange and red.
- 48:14Speaker 17: And I don't know much about weather, but I know
- 48:16Speaker 17: orange and red is not good, so good luck.
- 48:20Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I was watching my buddy Brian Hughes this morning before
- 48:24Speaker 3: he came into work, and he was a little bit
- 48:26Speaker 3: iffy on a lot of these evening activities because we
- 48:29Speaker 3: got live on the levee in Addison, the softball term
- 48:31Speaker 3: it going on over in Little Creek. We have got
- 48:35Speaker 3: festival going on. We've got the Dirty Birds with a
- 48:38Speaker 3: home game. Logan Scott from V one hundred is camping
- 48:41Speaker 3: out there. They starting at six o'clock tonight. Camp Well,
- 48:44Speaker 3: he'll be in a tent. So that's not great. So
- 48:47Speaker 3: there's that. But it is going to get better. I mean,
- 48:49Speaker 3: they do tell us that after like late tonight, in
- 48:52Speaker 3: this event, I'm going to be at tomorrow ver in Winfield.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Weather's looking great.
- 48:55Speaker 5: For them.
- 48:55Speaker 3: We just got to get through about the next twelve
- 48:57Speaker 3: or you know, twenty four twelve hours or so. So
- 49:01Speaker 3: you got the governor on today?
- 49:02Speaker 2: Do we is that?
- 49:03Speaker 3: Who's on the show? I think so?
- 49:05Speaker 7: All right?
- 49:06Speaker 3: Probably should have prepared for that. The governor's here? Or
- 49:09Speaker 3: is he here?
- 49:10Speaker 12: No?
- 49:10Speaker 3: No, he's not here, but he'll be on the frown.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Who do our best work when we wing it?
- 49:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 49:15Speaker 3: All right? So what else you got today? I don't know, Uh,
- 49:17Speaker 3: doctor Clay even have you on the Showjay?
- 49:20Speaker 15: What have we got?
- 49:21Speaker 3: Going on to ask?
- 49:22Speaker 17: Because we were standing over there having a nice conversation
- 49:25Speaker 17: and you started giving us the come here, I need
- 49:27Speaker 17: you to fill time.
- 49:28Speaker 3: No, I didn't say that, that's what you said. That's
- 49:30Speaker 3: not what I said. We want to come in. Who
- 49:32Speaker 3: are we have?
- 49:33Speaker 17: Doctor Klay Marsh is going to join us ten thirty.
- 49:35Speaker 17: We probably saw RFK Junior, the Health Secretary, Health and
- 49:40Speaker 17: Human Services Secretary. They've changed the COVID shot recommendations on
- 49:45Speaker 17: who should be getting the shots, who does not need
- 49:48Speaker 17: to get the shots. So we're going to get doctor
- 49:50Speaker 17: Marsh's perspective on that. Try to clear up some of
- 49:53Speaker 17: the information that's floating around out there and Chris Steyerwaldt
- 49:57Speaker 17: friend of the show at eleven oh six. Well, we
- 50:01Speaker 17: try to stump them, at least I like to TJ
- 50:03Speaker 17: try to see if we can throw something out.
- 50:04Speaker 3: There, but he usually has a pretty good response. Man
- 50:07Speaker 3: has an answer for everything.
- 50:09Speaker 17: We got into presidential egos yesterday. I thought that might
- 50:12Speaker 17: be a good Starwalt topic. I'm sure he would be
- 50:15Speaker 17: all about that. I mean, because like you said, he
- 50:16Speaker 17: does have an answer for everything.
- 50:18Speaker 3: I enjoy his Sunday morning show, The Hill that's on
- 50:22Speaker 3: news station I watch every Sunday morning. A couple of
- 50:24Speaker 3: quick texts here Texas Dave. Just sitting here thinking about
- 50:27Speaker 3: what I can't do in West Virginia. My cans can't
- 50:29Speaker 3: my kids, can't read what book they want, bull I
- 50:36Speaker 3: can't eat what I want, can't drink what I want,
- 50:39Speaker 3: can't pick my religion, can't decide if I want to
- 50:41Speaker 3: wear a seat belt, just since the Republicans Togever Well,
- 50:44Speaker 3: the seat belt thing is not a Republican there that
- 50:47Speaker 3: goes well beyond that. It's much easier to weigh in
- 50:50Speaker 3: when it's not your show. Can I weigh on that?
- 50:53Speaker 3: Uh huh wrong wrong, wrong, wrong all of them. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong?
- 51:00Speaker 3: What the hell is wrong with you? All right, I'm
- 51:02Speaker 3: gonna move this. This is wrong. It's like my grandfather
- 51:07Speaker 3: Clark that from I can do this your show. I
- 51:12Speaker 3: don't have to deal with it. Get me camps. Yeah,
- 51:14Speaker 3: you know, what do you care that? Dave guy was saying, well,
- 51:17Speaker 3: that's right. Speaking of which, final text, since Dave Wilson
- 51:21Speaker 3: is in Charleston, how many people turn their heads in
- 51:24Speaker 3: the office with a name Dave is called that's a
- 51:27Speaker 3: good question. Well, we got Weekly, got my we got myself,
- 51:31Speaker 3: and we got you. And so there's three and Weekly

- 51:39Speaker 3: the building this morning because we don't trust him with
- 51:40Speaker 3: access to the building in Charleston.
- 51:42Speaker 18: So uh uh so big on last names around here, though,
- 51:45Speaker 18: I've noticed it's always Alan said Wilson said. We said, well, you.
