- 0:16Speaker 2: Picture Association of America.
- 0:17Speaker 3: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:31Speaker 3: It's showtime, folks.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Enjoy the show.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:12Speaker 5: What do you want from us?
- 1:23Speaker 3: What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:25Speaker 6: I'm Misty.
- 1:27Speaker 4: And I'm Jay.
- 1:30Speaker 6: Are you awake?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm kind of half asleep.
- 1:33Speaker 3: We're always not sure if he knows if he's Jay
- 1:35Speaker 3: or not. It's the problem.
- 1:37Speaker 6: It's always questionable.
- 1:38Speaker 3: And we're coming to you live from Lexington, home of
- 1:42Speaker 3: the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. Back once again.
- 1:46Speaker 6: How many years has it been now?
- 1:47Speaker 3: I don't know. We ask that every convention we go to.
- 1:50Speaker 3: And we never know because it's so many. I can't
- 1:53Speaker 3: even remember back that far. But pretty much since they started,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I'd say. That's true of most conventions. We were discussing
- 2:01Speaker 3: that with one of the guests at the convention today.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I was like, We were doing this so long ago.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's just a whole new world now. There's a lot
- 2:10Speaker 3: of things going on in the convention world that was
- 2:12Speaker 3: not the same if you go back 15, 20 years.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's a whole different world.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Part of me kind of misses the way things used
- 2:20Speaker 6: to be where things were reasonable.
- 2:23Speaker 3: But that's just the world at this point.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's just gone bananas. It's gone apeshit. It's expensive.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Craziness. But with that, a thing that was like surprising
- 2:35Speaker 3: this time around because coming into this, assuming we were
- 2:38Speaker 3: going to discuss the way crowds act, I was going
- 2:41Speaker 3: to have my issues that I have in the regular world. Today,
- 2:45Speaker 3: people were like surprisingly polite.
- 2:47Speaker 6: It's like the opposite of normal. Maybe they knew. They
- 2:50Speaker 6: were like, oh, whoa, whoa. Watch out for her.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I don't think it was just you. I think because
- 2:55Speaker 3: they definitely with me a few times, people were like, oh,
- 2:57Speaker 3: I'm sorry. And like, we're very polite about, you know, just,
- 2:59Speaker 3: you know, there's a lot of people come in contact
- 3:01Speaker 3: with each other.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Except for that one bitch with the elbows.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Well.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Don't just walk around with your elbows fully, like, all
- 3:06Speaker 6: the way out. Like, when you're in a crowded space,
- 3:08Speaker 6: at least try to, like, compact a little bit. Don't just, like, whoa,
- 3:11Speaker 6: look at me. I got elbows. Fuck your elbows.
- 3:13Speaker 3: She's got dysfunctional elbows. They don't turn any other way.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Dude, they were just, like, they were at fucking 10
- 3:19Speaker 6: and 2 damn near, you know.
- 3:20Speaker 3: She should at least wear a vest so we all know. Oh,
- 3:22Speaker 3: she's got a problem with your elbows.
- 3:24Speaker 6: All those elbows. And you come around corners, trying to
- 3:26Speaker 6: even look at where you're going, and I'm like, But
- 3:29Speaker 6: 98% of the people, aside from elbows, was nice. I
- 3:32Speaker 6: thought one kid who apologized twice, he apologized when he
- 3:36Speaker 6: bumped into me. As he passed, he bumped into me
- 3:37Speaker 6: and apologized. Then he looked back to apologize again.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I'm really sorry.
- 3:43Speaker 6: I'm like, okay, dude. You're good. You are forgiven.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 3:46Speaker 6: It's all good.
- 3:48Speaker 3: You went about it the right way. This is how
- 3:49Speaker 3: people are supposed to.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Yeah, he wasn't a dick.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Because this is, outside of today, this was what I
- 3:54Speaker 3: was going to say I've noticed lately, and it's really weird.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And then I'm like, is it, because everything now, I
- 3:59Speaker 3: keep trying to factor in our post-shutdown, our lockdown for,
- 4:04Speaker 3: you know, a long time, and people got less and
- 4:07Speaker 3: less out in the world interacting with the peoples.
- 4:09Speaker 6: Maybe that was the one guest problem.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I don't know. But I've noticed so many times lately,
- 4:14Speaker 3: and it's just in this last, like, year or so,
- 4:17Speaker 3: when suddenly everybody's back out in the world, crammed into
- 4:19Speaker 3: doing things again. People, like, not only, it's not even
- 4:22Speaker 3: like they're rude. Like, they don't acknowledge that there are
- 4:25Speaker 3: other people coming into their space. And I'm like, dude,
- 4:28Speaker 3: that's your job. Assess the situation. Keep yourself away from
- 4:33Speaker 3: the other people. That's all you got to do when
- 4:34Speaker 3: you're walking around. There are people I see, and it's
- 4:36Speaker 3: not like they're not watching. They'll see you coming, and
- 4:40Speaker 3: they'll still keep walking.
- 4:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I had a couple of those today, too.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I didn't even have that today.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 4:46Speaker 3: But in general, I've seen that so many times lately
- 4:49Speaker 3: that I'm just like, dude, I am right here. what
- 4:51Speaker 3: is wrong with you? Like, why are you just continuing
- 4:54Speaker 3: to walk towards me?
- 4:55Speaker 6: Zombie.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm like, you're a zombie or I'm invisible. I
- 4:58Speaker 3: don't know which.
- 4:58Speaker 6: Cause there was at least one guy. I'm like, dude,
- 5:01Speaker 6: come on, come on. Divert. Where are you? What are
- 5:04Speaker 6: you doing?
- 5:05Speaker 3: I don't know. I just wonder that with people in general,
- 5:07Speaker 3: I was like, is this a post pandemic thing that
- 5:09Speaker 3: people just don't understand how to walk with other people anymore?
- 5:13Speaker 6: And I thought it was going to be a rough one.
- 5:15Speaker 6: As soon as we walk in, there's almost a fight.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Well, just a nerd fight though. I mean, That's when
- 5:20Speaker 3: you get stabbed with a pencil. That's as crazy as
- 5:22Speaker 3: it gets.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I don't know what your obsession with pencil fights are.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Well, that was the only time that ever happened was
- 5:27Speaker 3: at San Diego Comic-Con. There was a nerd fight, and
- 5:31Speaker 3: someone got stabbed with a pencil. That's like the most
- 5:34Speaker 3: escalated it's gotten at conventions that I know of.
- 5:37Speaker 6: I think pencil, all I think is fucking John Wick,
- 5:39Speaker 6: and none of these nerds there are John Wick.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Nobody was John Wick. That's not how our people are.
- 5:46Speaker 6: CW was even handing out free pencils, so I think
- 5:48Speaker 6: we were okay.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We had a good crowd today.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Except for that one guy.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Well, that guy's got problems. I'm not sure he was okay.
- 5:56Speaker 3: He might not have needed to be out by himself anyway.
- 5:58Speaker 3: He might need a keeper. An adult needs to be
- 6:01Speaker 3: with him at all times. He was having a bad day.
- 6:05Speaker 6: I'm like, dude, I'm usually about to lose my shit,
- 6:07Speaker 6: but your shit is lost.
- 6:11Speaker 3: But otherwise, it was all good. We saw all kinds
- 6:14Speaker 3: of stuff.
- 6:14Speaker 6: We were I bought stuff.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Leisurely walking around, not having issues. I had a great time.
- 6:21Speaker 6: Because you weren't there stressing me out.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I wasn't there stressing.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Why would I stress you out?
- 6:25Speaker 6: Because you're always like trying to dart in and out
- 6:27Speaker 6: of traffic and running way far ahead. And I have
- 6:30Speaker 6: to like look for you. And I'm like, where the
- 6:32Speaker 6: fuck did he go now?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Sorry. Sorry.
- 6:34Speaker 4: I'm on a mission a lot of times.
- 6:37Speaker 6: I want to look at stuff. And you're just like,
- 6:38Speaker 6: I'm like, I'll look down for a second. You're like
- 6:40Speaker 6: half an aisle away. And I'm like, what the fuck?
- 6:42Speaker 4: Sometimes I just, I have a hard time standing still.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I didn't notice that, but now that you mention it,
- 6:48Speaker 3: I didn't at any time today hear you go, where
- 6:50Speaker 3: the fuck did he go? I'm like, oh yeah, now
- 6:54Speaker 3: that you mention it, that is true.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I stress everybody out.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I didn't really notice myself, but obviously she has some problems.
- 7:03Speaker 6: I was upset because my boyfriend's not going to be
- 7:05Speaker 6: there to hold my hand to keep me from stressing out.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I'm like, wait a second.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Maybe I am the reason you'd stress out.
- 7:13Speaker 6: And when I can hold on to you, I know
- 7:15Speaker 6: where the fuck you are.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 3: You at least need a leash for him.
- 7:18Speaker 6: Dude, seriously.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Get one of those kid leashes. It's fine.
- 7:21Speaker 6: We walked at a leisurely pace. Looked at shit. I
- 7:25Speaker 6: bought stuff.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Bought all kinds of stuff. We were buying things, being productive.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I got a free bookmark.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Well, I didn't bother because I don't know how to read.
- 7:37Speaker 6: I bought some earrings. It may or may not hurt
- 7:39Speaker 6: my ears. We will see. But I'm pretty sure I'll
- 7:41Speaker 6: be okay. I bought some stickers.
- 7:44Speaker 3: You bought some stickers.
- 7:45Speaker 6: I bought some stickers.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Cool. So, do we need to address the newfound projects
- 7:52Speaker 3: that have burst upon the scene?
- 7:53Speaker 6: What are you talking about? Crochet.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Crochet.
- 7:56Speaker 6: There are so many crochet. It's like, I mean, and
- 7:59Speaker 6: I appreciate those who do it, but I can't do it.
- 8:02Speaker 6: It's impressive.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Like, I've seen, well, definitely there. There were a few
- 8:04Speaker 3: that I actually was like, oh, I would kind of
- 8:06Speaker 3: have that. Like, I don't buy much crochet. But, you know,
- 8:08Speaker 3: I was like, I would have that. It's a cute creature.
- 8:11Speaker 6: There was a cute baby Yoda there.
- 8:13Speaker 3: The little bat guy was super cool. I'm like, I'd
- 8:15Speaker 3: have that. Do I need more stuff? No. I have
- 8:18Speaker 3: so much stuff. It's ridiculous.
- 8:19Speaker 6: So I'm trying to control myself. Set up with my cross-stitch.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Cross-stitching. The cross stitch is impressive. I have to give
- 8:26Speaker 3: you credit.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Dude, you know how long it would take me to
- 8:29Speaker 6: have enough cross stitch to put in a booth? A
- 8:32Speaker 6: long time.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Years.
- 8:33Speaker 6: It would literally take years. And then you wouldn't part
- 8:34Speaker 6: with any of them. I would be like, no, this
- 8:36Speaker 6: is mine. No, I have somebody on Instagram who constantly
- 8:38Speaker 6: wants me to make her an R.L. Stine cross stitch
- 8:40Speaker 6: because she's crazy and I'm crazy. And I'm not going
- 8:42Speaker 6: to sell her the one that I've made because you
- 8:44Speaker 6: know what? It's mine. I put literally my blood into
- 8:48Speaker 6: that because it was one of my, it was my, well,
- 8:51Speaker 6: my third official cross stitch. And yes, there is my
- 8:54Speaker 6: blood in there. There's a reason I picked red for
- 8:56Speaker 6: the background.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I'm trying to do some sort of kiss promotion. I
- 8:59Speaker 3: know what you're up to.
- 9:01Speaker 6: But yeah, it's like cross stitch and 3D printing. I
- 9:04Speaker 6: want a 3D printer.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I want a 3D printer.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I don't know how the fuck it works, but I
- 9:09Speaker 6: want one. And I want to 3D print everything.
- 9:12Speaker 3: This is my question. And now I'm just probably starting
- 9:15Speaker 3: trouble for the rest of the internets because that's what
- 9:17Speaker 3: people do mostly. Well, no, I normally don't. I see
- 9:20Speaker 3: most other people do it. But the other version of
- 9:23Speaker 3: this conversation, I'm just so tired of hearing. And I'm like, well,
- 9:28Speaker 3: does this not apply to 3D printing? So if you're
- 9:30Speaker 3: the 3D printer and you're typing in what you want
- 9:32Speaker 3: or you're scanning your thing that you want and you
- 9:35Speaker 3: hit print, are you the artist? Because all I do
- 9:39Speaker 3: is hear people complain about computer art, CG art. People
- 9:43Speaker 3: are losing their damn minds over CG art.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Oh.
- 9:46Speaker 3: And I'm like, well, I mean, are these people, is
- 9:49Speaker 3: this a craft and that makes it okay? Are you
- 9:52Speaker 3: a skilled mechanical engineer that's hitting print on this thing
- 9:55Speaker 3: and that makes you different? No. Or if you call
- 9:57Speaker 3: yourself an artist, does that piss off some? who's out
- 10:00Speaker 3: there carving a Yoda out of wood somewhere that's like,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you didn't do the work.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Screw you.
- 10:04Speaker 3: That ain't a real piece of art.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Did they make the original art that it's based off of?
- 10:08Speaker 6: Probably not.
- 10:09Speaker 3: You probably bought yourself an action figure and scanned its
- 10:12Speaker 3: head and then you're like, I want one like that.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I don't know. I just don't hear anybody throwing a
- 10:17Speaker 3: big hissy fit over 3D printers, but yet CG art
- 10:21Speaker 3: is just like, and don't get me wrong, like I
- 10:23Speaker 3: know so many freaking artists. I understand why they're mad.
- 10:26Speaker 3: I understand like how it cuts into their, you know, livelihood.
- 10:30Speaker 3: But at the same time, I'm like, sometimes people go
- 10:33Speaker 3: too far with their complaining. And I'm like, I can
- 10:36Speaker 3: just look at it and go, yeah, that's CG art,
- 10:38Speaker 3: usually garbage or nonsense. I play with it because I
- 10:41Speaker 3: think it's hilarious. The weird nonsense it makes up. And like,
- 10:44Speaker 3: that's the only aspect I'm interested in. I don't want
- 10:47Speaker 3: it to look like real good art because I'll just
- 10:49Speaker 3: go get that from somebody who knows what they're doing.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But when I type in, I want these giant monkeys
- 10:53Speaker 3: standing on a beach with a robot handing them a towel.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And it does it and it's wrong and ridiculous and
- 10:59Speaker 3: sometimes gives them a third arm in the wrong spot.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And just like, all right, this is interesting, if nothing else.
- 11:04Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Just because you.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Think the third arm is in the wrong spot does
- 11:09Speaker 6: not mean.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I mean, on that one girl, it was hot. But,
- 11:12Speaker 3: you know, it depends on what you're looking for. But.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Third arms.
- 11:15Speaker 3: It would have been better if it had bones in it.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It was just kind of a little squishy thing laying there.
- 11:19Speaker 3: But anyway, that's a whole other story. But, yeah, I
- 11:23Speaker 3: don't know. I just, people were so losing their mind
- 11:25Speaker 3: over that. But I was like, well, I mean, how
- 11:27Speaker 3: is this really different? You're still, but then it gets
- 11:31Speaker 3: into a weird gray area anyway. It's like, so is
- 11:33Speaker 3: any art that you're using any extra thing? Suddenly, like,
- 11:38Speaker 3: you're using different tools than somebody else, so you're less
- 11:40Speaker 3: of an artist than they are.
- 11:42Speaker 6: I mean, I do my cross stitch, but I make
- 11:45Speaker 6: my own patterns off of other people's stuff. So does that?
- 11:47Speaker 6: I don't know. Yeah. I was like, is that cheating?
- 11:49Speaker 3: Is somebody out there as a cross stitch professional going
- 11:52Speaker 3: to be pissed about it?
- 11:53Speaker 6: Well, until Emma Roberts lets me come take pictures of
- 11:56Speaker 6: her myself.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean, she might.
- 11:58Speaker 6: I wish.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I mean, she seems super cool on the Instagram. So
- 12:02Speaker 3: let's see if we can send her a message and
- 12:03Speaker 3: be like, is it cool if we come over and.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Take some photos? I want to take pictures of you
- 12:07Speaker 6: for my cross stitch.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I swear it's just for cross stitch. It's not anything weird. Okay,
- 12:12Speaker 3: anything weirder? I'm sure taking photos for your cross-stitch seems
- 12:16Speaker 3: kind of weird to you right now, but let me
- 12:18Speaker 3: give you the full story and show you my R.L. Stine,
- 12:20Speaker 3: and you'll be impressed.
- 12:21Speaker 6: And like Christopher Pike, Road to Nowhere cover.
- 12:26Speaker 3: So, yeah, that just occurred to me today.
- 12:28Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Again, it's just argument for the sake of argument at
- 12:32Speaker 3: this point. I don't know. People can make whatever the
- 12:33Speaker 3: hell they want. Like, if I had a 3D printer,
- 12:35Speaker 3: I'd be printing all kinds of shit, too.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Fuck yeah, I would. I'd be printing an Emma Roberts. Life-size.
- 12:40Speaker 3: She's tiny. I mean, if you can ex Machina that shit,
- 12:43Speaker 3: I'll take it.
- 12:44Speaker 6: She's adorable.
- 12:46Speaker 3: But yeah, the little Godzilla guy, he was cool.
- 12:48Speaker 6: I did pick him up, and then I had a
- 12:49Speaker 6: hard time sitting him back down because I couldn't get
- 12:51Speaker 6: his legs to stand back right. I'm like, oh my God,
- 12:53Speaker 6: I shouldn't have picked this up.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Extra tail pieces that were stuck together to make a
- 12:57Speaker 3: moving tail. It was pretty impressive. So again, it takes
- 12:59Speaker 3: some skill to do certain things on there. So I
- 13:02Speaker 3: don't know. I don't know what that makes you. Maybe
- 13:04Speaker 3: you're just a craftsman. I don't know. But they were
- 13:08Speaker 3: pretty cool. I like that Skeletor, too.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Yeah, the Skeletor was pretty cool. The Castle Grayskull was awesome.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Those were all cool. You're talking about 3D printed?
- 13:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Yeah, there's files you just download and you just hit
- 13:17Speaker 4: print and then you walk away. There you go.
- 13:18Speaker 3: And they're back and they're done.
- 13:20Speaker 6: I've also seen it go wrong, too, where it gets
- 13:22Speaker 6: off for a second and then it's kind of like...
- 13:25Speaker 6: And then you're like, aw.
- 13:27Speaker 3: And it gets that third arm.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 3: In the wrong spot.
- 13:31Speaker 6: We also saw a lot of awesome costumes today.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Let's see. I mean, I know the most awesome one,
- 13:36Speaker 3: but what other ones?
- 13:37Speaker 6: I know which one that I'm most impressed with and
- 13:39Speaker 6: then I... Totally stressed awkwardly about it afterwards.
- 13:42Speaker 3: And I told you, either way, it's still an awesome costume.
- 13:44Speaker 1: What?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Why would you be stressed?
- 13:46Speaker 6: Okay, wait a second.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It's a very misty thing.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 13:50Speaker 6: As I could see, she was wearing a cheerleader outfit.
- 13:52Speaker 6: And it said Twin Peaks across the back. So I'm like, okay,
- 13:54Speaker 6: it's red hair. Obviously, we've got a Nadine over here.
- 13:56Speaker 6: I walk by and she's wearing an eyepatch, which is
- 13:58Speaker 6: also very, the character.
- 13:59Speaker 3: That is Nadine.
- 14:00Speaker 6: That's Nadine. She's wearing an eyepatch. And as we're walking by,
- 14:03Speaker 6: she like sees me seeing her and I'm like, that's awesome.
- 14:06Speaker 6: That's just, that's amazing. The eyepatch perfection. And I'm like,
- 14:09Speaker 6: what if she actually just needed the eye patch?
- 14:11Speaker 3: What if she every day has an eye patch?
- 14:15Speaker 6: But it was perfect. I wasn't like making fun of her.
- 14:18Speaker 6: It was awesome. That's the thing.
- 14:20Speaker 4: What if the eye patch is real?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Which I said, well, to me, you just found
- 14:23Speaker 3: the perfect costume. Like Nadine has an eye patch. This
- 14:27Speaker 3: is the perfect costume.
- 14:28Speaker 6: She looked amazing.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah. It was a great costume regardless. So I was like,
- 14:32Speaker 3: you just, how could you do Nadine without the eye patch?
- 14:35Speaker 3: So with or without her personal eye situation. It's necessary
- 14:39Speaker 3: for that costume.
- 14:39Speaker 4: And you know, and even still, I don't think that
- 14:42Speaker 4: person would have taken it as an insult.
- 14:46Speaker 3: She didn't, because she got super excited. A, that we
- 14:48Speaker 3: knew who she was. Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 6: Because you started talking about the costume.
- 14:50Speaker 3: And then I started talking about the drapes and she
- 14:52Speaker 3: got really excited.
- 14:53Speaker 6: She's like, yeah!
- 14:54Speaker 3: And she started doing the crazy arm motions and like.
- 14:57Speaker 3: So I was like, she was excited that we knew
- 14:59Speaker 3: who she was and acknowledged she had a cool costume.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Because it was amazing.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Because Nadine is amazing.
- 15:04Speaker 6: It is Nadine, right? I'm getting that right.
- 15:06Speaker 3: And then the fact that anybody would be Nadine, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 3: it's like, yeah, I've seen a lot of Laura's wrapped
- 15:11Speaker 3: in plastic walking around shows.
- 15:13Speaker 6: And hey, there was a fucking full out Shelly there.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah Shelly was good And it was diner Shelly
- 15:17Speaker 3: So it wasn't just like Regular clothes Shelly.
- 15:19Speaker 6: I'm glad you finally saw her Because I saw her
- 15:20Speaker 6: first Like through the crowd Yeah you were describing her
- 15:22Speaker 6: to me And he was like That sounds cool And
- 15:24Speaker 6: then later we ran into her I was like yep
- 15:25Speaker 6: That is a full on diner kid Because wasn't she
- 15:28Speaker 6: in line For like Sherilyn Finn Or Shelly She.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Was over there by him Yeah so I'm assuming that's
- 15:34Speaker 3: what Brought her.
- 15:34Speaker 6: There It was amazing But yeah I felt Like shortly
- 15:39Speaker 6: afterward I'm like What if the eye patch Is not
- 15:41Speaker 6: part of her costume.
- 15:43Speaker 3: And as I said Sometimes you just go with what
- 15:46Speaker 3: you got.
- 15:47Speaker 6: Because it wasn't like a half-ass eyepatch. And I wasn't
- 15:50Speaker 6: trying to be mean. It looked amazing.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I don't think she would have taken it wrong. Like
- 15:56Speaker 3: I said there, it was like if you wore it
- 15:57Speaker 3: with a regular outfit that doesn't require an eyepatch, then
- 16:01Speaker 3: it would just be weird and you'd confuse the nerds.
- 16:04Speaker 6: What if she'd been dressed as Shelly? But with an eyepatch.
- 16:06Speaker 3: But with an eyepatch. And people are like, you're doing
- 16:08Speaker 3: it wrong. That's the wrong character. She's never even seen
- 16:11Speaker 3: Twin Peaks. I was like, what if it's just Spider-Man
- 16:13Speaker 3: with an eyepatch? And you're like, what issue is this?
- 16:16Speaker 6: I don't remember that.
- 16:16Speaker 3: You're just going to make a nerd mad. You're going
- 16:19Speaker 3: to confuse them. So just, yeah, go with your strength.
- 16:21Speaker 3: If you need an eyepatch, just.
- 16:23Speaker 6: You know, you're Carl. Just go as Carl.
- 16:25Speaker 3: It's all cool.
- 16:25Speaker 6: We did see a Carl.
- 16:26Speaker 3: We did see a Carl. I was like, what do
- 16:28Speaker 3: you think about his eye?
- 16:29Speaker 6: Fuck his eyepatch. It didn't look as good as hers.
- 16:30Speaker 3: You were like, get on the porch, you little bastard.
- 16:32Speaker 6: Get in the house. Damn it, Carl.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Carl is his eye?
- 16:37Speaker 3: Eventually you get shot in the eye or something.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Oh, I don't know.
- 16:39Speaker 4: I quit watching that.
- 16:40Speaker 6: That's what I was trying to figure out. Because we
- 16:42Speaker 6: quit watching it when they were in the big trailer thing,
- 16:44Speaker 6: the container.
- 16:45Speaker 3: The container?
- 16:46Speaker 6: Yeah, that was the last episode I watched. They were
- 16:49Speaker 6: being held captive in some kind of like.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Oh, you.
- 16:54Speaker 6: You were right there beside me.
- 16:56Speaker 3: He was asleep and we're on his phone. What are
- 16:58Speaker 3: you on? I don't remember reading that.
- 17:01Speaker 6: There were a lot of costumes there today, though.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I saw some Obi-Wans in the parking lot.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Saw a big-ass Jake. Yeah, he was.
- 17:09Speaker 3: From State Farm? No. But that would be cool. He
- 17:12Speaker 3: should have been Jake wearing a red shirt, so he
- 17:15Speaker 3: could be Jake as Jake.
- 17:16Speaker 6: From Adventure Time.
- 17:17Speaker 3: He was Adventure Time Jake, but it would have been
- 17:19Speaker 3: funny if he had a red polo shirt on. Okay.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Saw several Ursulas today. Ursulas?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I did. Yeah, I saw a nice one.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Little Mermaid?
- 17:31Speaker 4: Was somebody from Little Mermaid there?
- 17:32Speaker 3: No.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Oh, just people were like, hey.
- 17:34Speaker 3: There's a lot of voice people there, though. They might
- 17:36Speaker 3: have had some crossover.
- 17:38Speaker 7: Oh.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Cool.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Did not get to see the American Gladiators because they
- 17:41Speaker 6: were at some kind of something else.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they were doing a talk or something
- 17:44Speaker 3: like that. I think that's what he said.
- 17:46Speaker 6: They were too much monies for me anyways because I
- 17:48Speaker 6: would have, you know, how do you just get one
- 17:50Speaker 6: American Gladiator and not get the other? Because I would
- 17:51Speaker 6: have been like, holy shit, because it was $ 60 for
- 17:54Speaker 6: an autograph, which, I'm sorry, that's too much. I'm poor.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Come on, be realistic.
- 17:59Speaker 3: As I said while we were standing there, I was like,
- 18:00Speaker 3: that's kind of out of touch i was like you're
- 18:04Speaker 3: at a certain time you would have been the big
- 18:06Speaker 3: stars and you could have gotten big money autographs but
- 18:08Speaker 3: at that point in time they weren't even doing conventions
- 18:11Speaker 3: like this at least not widespread.
- 18:13Speaker 6: So and if julie brown is 40 yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Julie brown's awesome and she like she was just like
- 18:19Speaker 3: whatever i'm not gonna rip people off so like she
- 18:21Speaker 3: was super cool but we can get back to her
- 18:23Speaker 3: but yeah american gladiators i was just like that's a
- 18:26Speaker 3: kind of a window in I feel like you missed
- 18:28Speaker 3: your window for charging super high prices.
- 18:30Speaker 6: I would have got them if they were like $ 40
- 18:32Speaker 6: and at their table.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 6: Because, I mean, yes, it was not my favorite American Gladiator.
- 18:36Speaker 6: Maybe that's why.
- 18:36Speaker 3: They knew.
- 18:37Speaker 6: If it had been Turbo, I would have been all
- 18:39Speaker 6: over that shit.
- 18:39Speaker 3: You'd be like, $ 100, I'll give it to you now.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Turbo, or I'll say Hawk, but I think Hawk's dead.
- 18:45Speaker 6: You liked Hawk, too. He was pretty.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I liked Hawk. I liked the other guy, too.
- 18:50Speaker 3: The surf guy. What was his name?
- 18:52Speaker 4: Malibu malibu yeah malibu was cool.
- 18:55Speaker 6: He didn't even surf you know that right.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Yeah i know it's all a character i just yeah
- 18:59Speaker 4: it's all a character much like wrestling it's all like.
- 19:01Speaker 6: The fuck you say hey wrestling's entertainment get the fuck
- 19:04Speaker 6: out of here but yeah if it had been turbo
- 19:07Speaker 6: i might have ponied up six uh you know sixty
- 19:09Speaker 6: dollars maybe even the hundred combo for turbo because i
- 19:13Speaker 6: love me some turbo he was my favorite where is
- 19:15Speaker 6: he at these days i don't know like fucking teaching
- 19:18Speaker 6: volleyball or some shit like that it's a coach somewhere
- 19:22Speaker 6: i don't know i tried i tried to look it
- 19:23Speaker 6: up and that was the last i could find who
- 19:25Speaker 6: knows what he's done since then but he's apparently not
- 19:27Speaker 6: doing conventions.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I am surprised that you could not track him down try.
- 19:32Speaker 3: That hard i was gonna say i feel like you
- 19:34Speaker 3: probably could knowing your internet skills i feel like you could.
- 19:38Speaker 6: But yeah the only american gladiators i think i think
- 19:41Speaker 6: i think ice and nitro or like They're like definitely
- 19:44Speaker 6: trying to milk this for all it's worth. Because I
- 19:46Speaker 6: think recently there was a documentary or a movie, something
- 19:49Speaker 6: out recently on Netflix, maybe? And so they are trying
- 19:53Speaker 6: while they can to milk it, I guess. Which I
- 19:55Speaker 6: don't care. I don't blame them.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Before everybody who remembers who they are keel over. It's like,
- 19:59Speaker 3: hurry up and get their money.
- 20:00Speaker 6: And it sucks because when they put it on Netflix,
- 20:03Speaker 6: they pulled American Gladiators off all the free stuff.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I know. That's why I was like, we went, because
- 20:08Speaker 4: for a while we were watching American Gladiator Saturday morning.
- 20:11Speaker 6: I got it on DVD.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, but still.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Not the same.
- 20:16Speaker 4: It's easier when you can just jump on Pluto or
- 20:19Speaker 4: whatever and just sit and watch it. You know, and
- 20:23Speaker 4: just all of a sudden it went away.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I was like, where the hell did it go?
- 20:25Speaker 4: Why is it not on here anymore? You know, I
- 20:28Speaker 4: didn't know it was because they.
- 20:29Speaker 6: I mean, I'm just guessing, 100% assuming that they put it.
- 20:32Speaker 3: No, I'm sure.
- 20:33Speaker 4: That's exactly why they did it. Because they're like, oh,
- 20:35Speaker 4: now this is out. Now we can charge money for it.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Because now people are going to, well, I want to
- 20:39Speaker 4: watch American Gladiators now. And it's like, oh, okay, it's
- 20:43Speaker 4: not for free. Well, now I got to pay for it.
- 20:45Speaker 6: I'm not even sure if it's like a pay thing.
- 20:47Speaker 6: I don't know. I didn't look that far into it.
- 20:50Speaker 6: But yeah, it was just ice and nitro.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Ice and nitro. That sounds like a drink. Give me
- 20:59Speaker 4: an ice and nitro.
- 21:01Speaker 3: That's one of those fancy drinks.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Can't afford those.
- 21:04Speaker 1: No.
- 21:05Speaker 6: We saw Shannon Dirty back in the corner.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 6: She had a line.
- 21:08Speaker 3: She was signing stuff.
- 21:09Speaker 6: We saw the absolutely gorgeous Charisma Carpenter. I did not
- 21:13Speaker 6: get in her line because, again, money.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I don't have it. I think she's been in this
- 21:17Speaker 3: area a few times, but I don't know if we've
- 21:18Speaker 3: actually crossed paths with her. So that might have been
- 21:20Speaker 3: the first time we've seen her in the real world.
- 21:22Speaker 3: And yep, she is looking pretty damn good.
- 21:25Speaker 6: She does. She looks amazing. You know, I was just like.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Super skinny.
- 21:29Speaker 6: She's not even just skinny.
- 21:29Speaker 3: She's just tiny.
- 21:30Speaker 6: She is a tiny person.
- 21:32Speaker 3: How tiny is she?
- 21:33Speaker 6: I don't know, but she seems tiny.
- 21:35Speaker 3: She's shorter than you? Probably.
- 21:37Speaker 6: I don't know. She was wearing heels. So, you know,
- 21:39Speaker 6: without her heels, she was probably shorter than me.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Really?
- 21:41Speaker 6: Wow.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Is she like my mom's height?
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 21:43Speaker 6: It's hard to tell. I couldn't get a real good
- 21:45Speaker 6: judgment because she was far away.
- 21:47Speaker 3: She was behind a barricade.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Take off your shoes and start talking in broken English
- 21:51Speaker 4: and we'll see if you're the same size as Jay's mom.
- 21:55Speaker 6: That's how we had to find out her size.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, we've got a very specific set of rules
- 22:00Speaker 3: we have to go by.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Take your shoes off and tell everybody you got stung
- 22:03Speaker 4: by a jelly bean.
- 22:06Speaker 6: I was the one who got stung by the jelly bean.
- 22:09Speaker 3: But she told me that I got stung by.
- 22:10Speaker 4: A jelly bean.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Yeah, my mom told her that.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Okay, well, whatever.
- 22:14Speaker 4: My mom calls jellyfish jelly beans. Because she gets them
- 22:17Speaker 4: mixed up and she doesn't... She knows the difference.
- 22:20Speaker 3: She just... Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 4: So imagine a.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Easter's got to be crazy around here.
- 22:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Imagine a little short Asian lady.
- 22:26Speaker 6: Look, I got you a whole thing full of jellyfish.
- 22:28Speaker 8: You got stung by jellybean.
- 22:29Speaker 3: You got stung by jellybean. Here's a basket for you. Oh, God.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Look at it.
- 22:34Speaker 3: No. Oh, well.
- 22:37Speaker 6: What else did we see? We saw all Twin Peaks girls.
- 22:43Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 6: I'm glad I got Sherilyn Finn years ago. Back when
- 22:50Speaker 6: their prices were still reasonable.
- 22:51Speaker 3: You got Sherilyn and then you got Sherilee too. Both,
- 22:55Speaker 3: you know. And you stood in that spot and were like,
- 22:58Speaker 3: it was right here in this spot.
- 23:00Speaker 6: I did. Was it last year? It was this spot
- 23:05Speaker 6: when Ray Wise took a hold of my hand and
- 23:08Speaker 6: took a picture of of himself on my arm.
- 23:12Speaker 3: We stood in that spot and you reminisced.
- 23:14Speaker 6: I did.
- 23:14Speaker 3: And Cheryl Lee was like, get away from my line.
- 23:16Speaker 6: She was at the same table.
- 23:17Speaker 3: She was in his spot. She was weird.
- 23:19Speaker 6: I wonder if they planned that.
- 23:21Speaker 3: They think he was secretly lurking behind her somewhere.
- 23:25Speaker 6: He could have been. Was he there? Last time.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Okay, so he wasn't there. This time it was just
- 23:30Speaker 3: in Bob form. Oh, okay.
- 23:32Speaker 6: We walked past the empty tables of Priscilla Presley, who
- 23:36Speaker 6: she was not there.
- 23:37Speaker 3: She did have a line.
- 23:38Speaker 6: She did have a line. Um, Barbara Eden.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Barbara Eden.
- 23:41Speaker 6: It was probably past her bedtime when we left.
- 23:44Speaker 3: I would see Barbara Eden. She always seemed cool.
- 23:47Speaker 6: Um, a lot of voice people who had no idea
- 23:49Speaker 6: who they are. And I just, I don't understand it
- 23:51Speaker 6: at all.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I mean, I get it with some, but it's weird
- 23:55Speaker 3: how much it's just like kind of everybody. Like if
- 23:57Speaker 3: you've done, which don't get me wrong, I'm jealous. Like
- 23:59Speaker 3: I want to, I want to have a voice over job.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Like there are very, very few people that I would
- 24:03Speaker 6: wait in line for voice actors, but I've already got
- 24:06Speaker 6: their autographs online. Cause I got, I do still want
- 24:09Speaker 6: to get Alan Oppenheimer, but only if I can get
- 24:12Speaker 6: him something on the nothing.
- 24:14Speaker 3: You just got to bring your own nothing with you.
- 24:15Speaker 6: I've got to. I haven't seen anything offered of him
- 24:18Speaker 6: on that one. I've got Shira, the Melody, whatever her
- 24:22Speaker 6: name was. I got her autograph before she went expensive.
- 24:24Speaker 6: And I got Jem. So I got the important ones
- 24:26Speaker 6: down already.
- 24:27Speaker 3: The essentials.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:29Speaker 6: But I would consider Alan Oppenhagen, which I'm probably getting
- 24:32Speaker 6: his name wrong.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Oppenheimer?
- 24:34Speaker 6: Oppenheimer, not Oppenhagen.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I don't know. Did he invent the nuclear bomb?
- 24:37Speaker 1: Possibly.
- 24:38Speaker 3: That might be him.
- 24:39Speaker 6: I want their Skeletor to sign my this here the nothing.
- 24:47Speaker 6: We forgot about my most exciting meeting.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I was just going to say, you've got your interaction.
- 24:53Speaker 3: You did get an autograph.
- 24:54Speaker 6: And he was, oh my God, so nice.
- 24:57Speaker 3: He was very cool. And I wasn't all that. Well, again,
- 24:59Speaker 3: I almost had like back to being the art dork.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I was like, I kind of had art questions for him,
- 25:03Speaker 3: but like there were like other dorky book readers behind me.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I was like, oh man, I'm not going to tie
- 25:07Speaker 3: up your line. Nevermind.
- 25:08Speaker 1: But.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Go ahead. Tell them who you came in contact with.
- 25:11Speaker 7: I did.
- 25:12Speaker 6: His picture is right here. Yes, it was Tim Jacobus
- 25:17Speaker 6: who did all the original, not all of the original art,
- 25:20Speaker 6: but most of the original art.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Some of the iconic, even I'm like, isn't that the
- 25:23Speaker 3: Haunted Mask?
- 25:25Speaker 6: From all the Goosebumps books?
- 25:27Speaker 3: I didn't even read books, but I've seen that cover
- 25:30Speaker 3: so many times.
- 25:31Speaker 6: See, I did not read. I have never read a
- 25:35Speaker 6: Goosebumps book. In my life that I recall. Because I didn't,
- 25:38Speaker 6: when I was a kid.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Which being a YA person, like now it's like, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 3: that seems crazy talk if you know how many crazy
- 25:46Speaker 3: YA books you have. But like these are pre-YA.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Oh no, no, no, because this is pre-YA because this
- 25:49Speaker 6: is like kids books.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Younger, younger.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Oh yeah, because I did not read Goosebumps. I've never
- 25:54Speaker 6: read one. I did not read one. When I started reading,
- 25:56Speaker 6: I went straight to Fear Street because I was that
- 25:58Speaker 6: fucking cool.
- 25:59Speaker 3: As you told him.
- 25:59Speaker 6: I did. I did tell him that.
- 26:00Speaker 3: You were like, I was too cool for Goosebumps.
- 26:02Speaker 6: I was obviously too cool.
- 26:04Speaker 3: And then you told him.
- 26:05Speaker 6: What you read.
- 26:05Speaker 3: And he was like, oh, you were actually. So he
- 26:07Speaker 3: knew Fear Street was way cooler.
- 26:09Speaker 6: I mean, Fear Street.
- 26:10Speaker 3: For older kids. Let's put it that way.
- 26:12Speaker 6: I was in like fifth or sixth grade. Maybe fifth
- 26:14Speaker 6: or sixth grade. I don't know.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Plus you were like advanced. You know, you weren't like
- 26:18Speaker 3: a kid.
- 26:18Speaker 7: Obviously.
- 26:20Speaker 6: But anyways, now that I'm an adult, I feel like
- 26:21Speaker 6: I can appreciate Goosebumps. Because back then I'm like, oh,
- 26:23Speaker 6: that's baby stuff. And now I'm like, you know what?
- 26:24Speaker 6: It's going to be kind of fun. Because it's a
- 26:25Speaker 6: good like palate cleanser. You read some weird-ass shit, and
- 26:28Speaker 6: then you're like, you know what? I need something to
- 26:30Speaker 6: clean that out of my brain. I need to wipe
- 26:32Speaker 6: it clear. You know what I need? I need something quick, fun,
- 26:37Speaker 6: nothing heavy. It's a palate cleanser.
- 26:40Speaker 4: You need something to read so you don't get scared
- 26:43Speaker 4: at night.
- 26:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I need that, too. So, yeah, goosebumps. I love R.L.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Stine.
- 26:49Speaker 6: Like I said.
- 26:50Speaker 3: He is super cool.
- 26:52Speaker 6: We waited in line for how long?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Our bestest friend, R.L. Stine, who we did see in
- 26:56Speaker 3: the real world.
- 26:56Speaker 6: We did. It was still my Instagram photo all of
- 27:01Speaker 6: these years later.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Why would it be anything else?
- 27:03Speaker 6: I know, right? But yeah, Tim Jacobus. And he was
- 27:06Speaker 6: just so nice and so friendly. And not like in
- 27:10Speaker 6: a fake way. Because you know you get some, they're like,
- 27:13Speaker 6: give me your money. We're nice. We're friends. Now go away.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:16Speaker 6: But he just seemed legitimately like a nice dude. He
- 27:18Speaker 6: did seem cool.
- 27:19Speaker 3: And was like, I feel like he deals with, as
- 27:22Speaker 3: you well know, you're familiar with the like super geek
- 27:24Speaker 3: book scene. Sometimes, once again, they're kids that don't get
- 27:28Speaker 3: out of the basement real often.
- 27:29Speaker 4: So I feel like he probably has to deal with
- 27:31Speaker 4: a lot of crazy people.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Like, oh my God, I read all of these. Well, again,
- 27:35Speaker 3: you didn't do that. You're like, I didn't read your books.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I don't care. But like, you know, some of those
- 27:38Speaker 3: kids were like, they grew up on Goosebumps. And like,
- 27:40Speaker 3: so they probably geek out on him hard. And he seemed, like,
- 27:43Speaker 3: super patient. Like, he didn't seem like he was like, oh, God,
- 27:46Speaker 3: just give me your money and get out of here, kid. Like,
- 27:48Speaker 3: he actually seemed like he was cool and he wanted
- 27:50Speaker 3: to talk to people because he was talking to the
- 27:51Speaker 3: people who got there before we would. And then after
- 27:54Speaker 3: we were there, there was another guy that he stood
- 27:56Speaker 3: there and talked to. So, like, he just seems patient
- 27:59Speaker 3: and very, like, kind of nice and happy to be
- 28:01Speaker 3: there and talk to the people.
- 28:02Speaker 6: See, I was talking to him. I'm like, I was like, yeah,
- 28:04Speaker 6: now that I'm an adult, I'm trying to get, like,
- 28:06Speaker 6: the original covers. And I'm like, you have no idea
- 28:08Speaker 6: how hard it is to find, like, the original covers.
- 28:11Speaker 6: they're still like a decent shape. You know, it's like,
- 28:12Speaker 6: I'll find one. I'm like, the cover's been ripped off.
- 28:14Speaker 6: The cover's, I bought one today from the half price
- 28:17Speaker 6: bookstore that the cover's in the greatest shape and I
- 28:19Speaker 6: figured it was $ 2 or whatever. And he was just like, yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 6: I've signed books that are like in pieces.
- 28:25Speaker 3: And I was like, does he sign his first name
- 28:27Speaker 3: on this part and his last name on that part? Initials.
- 28:30Speaker 3: It's all that fits. Just one letter on each page.
- 28:32Speaker 3: They're all loose everywhere. You have to assemble it like
- 28:34Speaker 3: a puzzle.
- 28:36Speaker 6: That's part of the fun. But yeah, he just legitimately
- 28:38Speaker 6: seemed like a nice dude. So I was just, I mean, and, Dude,
- 28:42Speaker 6: $ 20 for an autograph. When's the last time we've been
- 28:45Speaker 6: to a convention where somebody charged $ 20?
- 28:48Speaker 3: I was kind of watching as that girl was in
- 28:50Speaker 3: front of us because I didn't see prices. I was like, ooh,
- 28:52Speaker 3: I don't know what this is going to be. And then, like,
- 28:54Speaker 3: went see, like, took her. I was like, whoa, really?
- 28:56Speaker 3: I was like, is that? Okay, that's cool. I mean,
- 28:59Speaker 3: I know you're an artist artist and not, like, a
- 29:01Speaker 3: movie star, so maybe that changes the... Whole deal, but
- 29:04Speaker 3: I was like, still, you can charge.
- 29:06Speaker 6: And I got a picture. Yeah, and a picture for free.
- 29:09Speaker 6: Like a selfie.
- 29:11Speaker 3: He could easily charge more than he is.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but $ 20, $ 20, he could probably get more people
- 29:18Speaker 4: to spend $ 20 than people spending $ 40 or $ 60.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I thought that about a lot of the, like, sort
- 29:25Speaker 3: of the not as huge actors. I'm like, you could
- 29:28Speaker 3: sell stuff, you know, 10 or 15 bucks. and sell
- 29:30Speaker 3: them all day long versus like charging 40 to 60
- 29:34Speaker 3: and selling a handful the whole weekend. You know, it's like,
- 29:37Speaker 3: I don't know. I've thought that for a while, but
- 29:39Speaker 3: I think it's. also a status thing. I think like
- 29:41Speaker 3: they feel like, well, everybody else is making this. I
- 29:43Speaker 3: should be making that too. And it's like, well, I mean,
- 29:47Speaker 3: that's your call, I guess, right out the table and
- 29:49Speaker 3: see how things go for you. But I feel like
- 29:51Speaker 3: there are some of them that if they charged less,
- 29:53Speaker 3: they could sell way more all weekend long. Okay.
- 29:57Speaker 6: And I'm going to say like, Cause I thought I was,
- 29:59Speaker 6: first I was afraid. Cause I'm like, I saw he
- 30:00Speaker 6: was going to be there. And I'm like, he's fucking awesome.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I'm going to go.
- 30:03Speaker 6: Is he going to charge more at the convention? That
- 30:06Speaker 6: cause like you can buy all this stuff online. So
- 30:09Speaker 6: I was like, I'll go ahead and buy one of
- 30:12Speaker 6: his pictures online. That way, if I get there and
- 30:16Speaker 6: it costs way too much, at least I'll already have it.
- 30:21Speaker 6: But I don't know if I can, I'm trying to
- 30:22Speaker 6: look at his website. Cause I'm trying to, cause even
- 30:23Speaker 6: on his website, the autograph plus shipping is only $ 24.
- 30:27Speaker 6: That's not bad.
- 30:28Speaker 3: It's pretty good. Because you're getting the print, too. The
- 30:30Speaker 3: print of his artwork and the autograph. So, yeah.
- 30:33Speaker 6: And when you buy, at least, when you buy his
- 30:35Speaker 6: stuff online, $ 10 of that goes to buy food for people. Like,
- 30:41Speaker 6: I don't know. I was trying to find, like, the actual.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Like a full-on charity. Yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 6: I was trying to find the actual thing as to
- 30:48Speaker 6: what it goes to. But, I mean, if you need
- 30:51Speaker 6: just some kick-ass Goosebumps art signed for a good cause,
- 30:55Speaker 6: I was trying to. It goes to. Trying to figure
- 30:59Speaker 6: out where it goes to. But yeah, they just buy food.
- 31:01Speaker 6: I don't know if they take it to like food
- 31:03Speaker 6: banks or whatever. People that actually need food. But like
- 31:06Speaker 6: so half of the money that he makes selling his
- 31:09Speaker 6: art online is going to other people.
- 31:13Speaker 3: That's cool. Which once again, yeah, he doesn't have to
- 31:14Speaker 3: do that. So that's just awesome.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Anyways, it's Jacoba. I can't even say his name. Jacobastudios.com.
- 31:22Speaker 6: And buy some cool shit. Because it's awesome. And he's awesome.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Yep, he did seem very cool.
- 31:29Speaker 6: He's a friendly dude. For a good cause, too. So,
- 31:32Speaker 6: good for him. Yeah, it's Jacobus. But I keep wanting
- 31:35Speaker 6: to say Jacoby.
- 31:37Speaker 3: That's just your Twin Peaks tie-in coming in. Because for
- 31:39Speaker 3: some reason, for years, we pronounced it wrong. Because we
- 31:42Speaker 3: thought it was funnier. Dr. Jacoby. We were dorks. Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Were?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Well, I mean, that was a different band of dorks.
- 31:53Speaker 3: We're the carryover dorks.
- 31:56Speaker 6: I did get questioned about my shirt while we were there.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I was thinking as we were discussing
- 32:01Speaker 3: that earlier, I was like, maybe we can open that
- 32:04Speaker 3: up to people. Because, well, once again, I thought it
- 32:07Speaker 3: was weird because I didn't notice that's what you were wearing.
- 32:09Speaker 3: So when some guy started asking you about eating Mr. Bones,
- 32:13Speaker 3: I was like, I know you have that shirt, so
- 32:16Speaker 3: I'm going to guess you're wearing that shirt today.
- 32:18Speaker 6: How did you know I have this shirt?
- 32:19Speaker 3: I know you've at least told me you had that shirt.
- 32:21Speaker 6: No, I haven't. I just got it like a week ago.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Well, we all love Mr. Bones, so let's go with
- 32:26Speaker 3: that one. But anyway... He specifically said, like, so when
- 32:31Speaker 3: you were eating Mr. Bones back in the day, he's like,
- 32:34Speaker 3: did you, like, get all the pieces and make a
- 32:37Speaker 3: skeleton out of it? And I was like, I feel
- 32:40Speaker 3: like I always was, like, missing a leg or an
- 32:42Speaker 3: arm or something. Like, I might have had an extra head,
- 32:45Speaker 3: but I was missing another piece. And, like, it could
- 32:47Speaker 3: just be my memory. It's gotten massively faulty. Who knows?
- 32:49Speaker 3: But I feel like when I was eating my candies,
- 32:53Speaker 3: or I was probably just throwing them in as I'm
- 32:54Speaker 3: trying to assemble them, so I'm eating the loose pieces.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Always had it complete.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you were saying you got them all.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I got them all, but I always had extras. Like,
- 33:04Speaker 4: I had, like, an extra leg bone or, like, enough
- 33:07Speaker 4: to maybe do, like, a second skeleton.
- 33:09Speaker 6: You can have a conjoined twin.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it was kind of weird.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It was.
- 33:13Speaker 6: I feel like I was a kid, and I was
- 33:15Speaker 6: just eating the candy most of the time.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Just throwing them down. You were like, whatever. I like bones.
- 33:19Speaker 4: See, I like them, and I liked garbage can candy.
- 33:21Speaker 6: We still have some of that.
- 33:22Speaker 3: I like that, too.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. We've got some at the house that we
- 33:25Speaker 4: never opened.
- 33:26Speaker 6: I think I opened it and peeked inside.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Did you?
- 33:28Speaker 6: Yes.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't open mine. Was it disturbing looking?
- 33:30Speaker 6: I didn't. It's been a while. I don't think I've
- 33:32Speaker 6: opened it since we bought it, because we bought it
- 33:34Speaker 6: here in Lexington, I'm pretty sure. And I was so surprised.
- 33:36Speaker 6: I'm like, boyfriend's going to eat this fucking candy.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I didn't do it. I had one. I probably should
- 33:42Speaker 3: run across it in some random box of thousands of
- 33:44Speaker 3: things that I have. But I swear there was still
- 33:47Speaker 3: a can that I had that, of course, being the
- 33:49Speaker 3: hoarder child that I was, like I'd eaten the candy
- 33:52Speaker 3: out and just kept it. It was a green trash can.
- 33:54Speaker 6: I got a pink one somewhere.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And I had it and just like would put other
- 33:56Speaker 3: random stuff in. I'd be like, oh, look, this fits
- 33:58Speaker 3: in there.
- 33:58Speaker 6: Yay.
- 33:59Speaker 3: And I'd shove it in the drawer. So somewhere I
- 34:01Speaker 3: think there's still a green trash can rolling around in
- 34:03Speaker 3: my drawer in the desk somewhere.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Do you remember the mailboxes?
- 34:07Speaker 3: I think I remember those, but I was like, they're
- 34:09Speaker 3: obviously not as cool as trash cans. So I would
- 34:10Speaker 3: just get the trash cans.
- 34:11Speaker 4: No, because there was trash cans, the coffin candy, and
- 34:14Speaker 4: then the mailboxes.
- 34:15Speaker 3: The mailbox had like letters or something.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it just had like letters and packages. They weren't
- 34:19Speaker 4: as cool.
- 34:19Speaker 6: You don't really remember the orange, remember the gum and
- 34:22Speaker 6: the tiny little milk crate? Like the little, like.
- 34:24Speaker 3: The Waxman's or the.
- 34:25Speaker 6: No, it was like.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Oh, the, yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 6: It would be like a tiny milk, like a tiny
- 34:28Speaker 6: orange juice carton.
- 34:29Speaker 3: I kind of remember those. I don't think I got them,
- 34:31Speaker 3: but I remember seeing them. I never got those. Back in,
- 34:35Speaker 3: and this is again, dating. Hundreds of years ago, kids. But, like,
- 34:40Speaker 3: you could walk up the street and there was, like,
- 34:42Speaker 3: a drugstore. And, like, the whole first aisle was nothing
- 34:45Speaker 3: but candy.
- 34:46Speaker 6: You can get all your drugs in there.
- 34:47Speaker 3: And, like, yeah. I was like, I could care less
- 34:49Speaker 3: about the drugstore. But it was, like, a mom and
- 34:50Speaker 3: pop kind of drugstore. Like, it wasn't, like, a Walgreens
- 34:53Speaker 3: or any of that nonsense. It was, like, mom and
- 34:55Speaker 3: pop's drugstore. I guess there was a pharmacy in there.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I don't know. I was a kid. I didn't give
- 34:59Speaker 3: a rat's ass. So, I was, like, just walked in.
- 35:01Speaker 3: There was, like, a spinner rack of comic books. And
- 35:04Speaker 3: a whole aisle full of candy. And it was like
- 35:06Speaker 3: the coolest freaking place when you were a little kid.
- 35:08Speaker 3: So that's where I got all my Mr. Bones and
- 35:10Speaker 3: garbage can full of hard candies. Chalk candies. And your
- 35:18Speaker 3: candy cigarettes, obviously. Oh, yeah. Candy cigarettes. And the bubble
- 35:21Speaker 3: gum cigarettes, which I was always partial to because when
- 35:24Speaker 3: you blew out of it, it had that weird powder
- 35:26Speaker 3: on it. So it looked like there was some smoke
- 35:27Speaker 3: coming out. Oh, my gosh. How cool were you as
- 35:31Speaker 3: a smoky nine-year-old? Well, if we want to get into
- 35:35Speaker 3: the other person that we saw that we mentioned earlier,
- 35:38Speaker 3: it also ties into what I've been watching lately. So,
- 35:42Speaker 3: I did go there specifically. Like, that was the one
- 35:45Speaker 3: thing I got excited when I saw the lineup when
- 35:47Speaker 3: they first came out with it was, I've said this
- 35:50Speaker 3: before because I go to all these conventions and I've
- 35:54Speaker 3: talked to a friend of hers and I'm like, why
- 35:56Speaker 3: has Julie Brown never come to this part of the country? Like,
- 35:59Speaker 3: I know she lives on the other side of the country, but, like,
- 36:02Speaker 3: come this way.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Come closer this way.
- 36:04Speaker 3: And she just hadn't in all these years that I've
- 36:07Speaker 3: been waiting. And then finally they did the lineup and
- 36:09Speaker 3: she was coming to Lexington. So I was super excited.
- 36:12Speaker 3: And then we got to see her. But it did
- 36:15Speaker 3: remind me I haven't seen some of those movies in
- 36:16Speaker 3: a while. So I ended up re-watching a few. And yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 3: I mean, I loved Earth Girls Are Easy back in
- 36:23Speaker 3: the day, but it's amazing. It is so amazing. So
- 36:28Speaker 3: I just watched it last week and like, That's what
- 36:31Speaker 3: I was telling you guys earlier today. I was like,
- 36:32Speaker 3: there's no way in hell that could have come together
- 36:36Speaker 3: any other time in history. Like, it was right on
- 36:39Speaker 3: the verge of everybody in it being, like, huge stars, like,
- 36:45Speaker 3: because she wrote the song, and it's sort of, like,
- 36:47Speaker 3: in first person, like, she's the lead, but then I
- 36:50Speaker 3: guess you couldn't have gotten the movie made with, you know,
- 36:52Speaker 3: not that many people knew who she was at the time.
- 36:54Speaker 3: But Gene Davis had already kind of broken through and
- 36:57Speaker 3: done the fly and been on TV, so the sort
- 37:00Speaker 3: of female lead that takes over her role from the
- 37:03Speaker 3: song is Gina Davis. The main alien she meets is
- 37:07Speaker 3: Jeff Goldblum, who also just coming off the fly and
- 37:10Speaker 3: had already been in a ton of stuff, but wasn't
- 37:13Speaker 3: so big that you couldn't get him to still do
- 37:14Speaker 3: a relatively small budget movie. And then the other two
- 37:18Speaker 3: random aliens, just some other weird dudes, Damon Wayans and
- 37:22Speaker 3: Jim Carrey, right before they like, I think they might've
- 37:26Speaker 3: even been on that first season of the show or
- 37:28Speaker 3: something like, They might have already known each other from
- 37:31Speaker 3: Living Color, but they hadn't broken through. Certainly Jim Carrey
- 37:34Speaker 3: hadn't become Jim Carrey yet. So even a year or
- 37:38Speaker 3: two ahead, there's no way that would have come together.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And I kind of forgot Michael McKeon's in it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Who?
- 37:44Speaker 3: You've also got some old school Spinal Tap crossover there.
- 37:48Speaker 3: He's playing a weird, speaking of surfer dudes, he's playing
- 37:50Speaker 3: a weird surfer dude that I forgot. He's got a
- 37:52Speaker 3: good amount of screen time.
- 37:53Speaker 6: Seems like I heard somewhere they're going to make a
- 37:55Speaker 6: sequel to Spinal Tap.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Think they're doing an official one they did like a
- 37:59Speaker 3: TV thing many years ago that was sort of like
- 38:02Speaker 3: they put out a new album and they did like
- 38:03Speaker 3: a kind of TV I think it was only like
- 38:06Speaker 3: an hour long and that was even on TV so
- 38:08Speaker 3: it was like super short comparatively but nothing that was
- 38:11Speaker 3: an official like full movie sequel so I think they're
- 38:14Speaker 3: supposed to be doing that with maybe with Rob Reiner
- 38:17Speaker 3: last I heard so but yeah that was that was
- 38:21Speaker 3: amazing it's also it is directed by Julian Temple and
- 38:25Speaker 3: like he was like a an English, you know, filmmaker. Like,
- 38:28Speaker 3: he was actually making, like, cool art house kind of films, and, like,
- 38:32Speaker 3: somehow he got roped into doing this crazy sci-fi comedy, and, like,
- 38:36Speaker 3: it looks amazing. Like, the colors, he, like, specifically goes
- 38:39Speaker 3: out of his way to, like, put together these, this
- 38:42Speaker 3: crazy color palette, specifically with the aliens in the beginning,
- 38:45Speaker 3: but then the whole, like, it is also, like, this
- 38:47Speaker 3: weird time capsule of, like, Southern California at that moment
- 38:51Speaker 3: in time, and so much so you get Angeline driving
- 38:54Speaker 3: up in her pink Corvette. Like, it's... it's very of
- 38:58Speaker 3: the moment Southern California. So it's, it's kind of amazing
- 39:02Speaker 3: to watch in and of itself just for that, like
- 39:05Speaker 3: little time capsule. But yep, that thing is awesome.
- 39:08Speaker 6: I've never seen it.
- 39:09Speaker 3: It's awesome. And so is Julie, obviously.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Oh, she was so nice.
- 39:14Speaker 3: She was very nice.
- 39:15Speaker 6: We talked about Madonna.
- 39:17Speaker 3: We did talk about Madonna. She, um, that wasn't just
- 39:22Speaker 3: a random coincidence only because, you know, I'm a dork
- 39:24Speaker 3: and I follow her on the social media. So, She
- 39:26Speaker 3: posted something the other night on Instagram and it's like
- 39:28Speaker 3: her in a crowd full of people. And I'm like,
- 39:31Speaker 3: the hell is she doing? I'm like, Oh, she's at
- 39:33Speaker 3: the Madonna concert. So, which is extra, you know, if
- 39:37Speaker 3: you know, Julie is extra funny because she made her own,
- 39:40Speaker 3: like making fun of when truth or dare came out,
- 39:45Speaker 3: like shortly after she made And it was like her
- 39:49Speaker 3: own knockoff Madonna sort of thing. That's mostly just her
- 39:53Speaker 3: like recreating almost specific scenes from truth or dare where
- 39:57Speaker 3: she's just like kind of making fun of her. So
- 39:59Speaker 3: it's interesting. I mean, obviously when you do, when you
- 40:02Speaker 3: put that much time into something, it's because you're already
- 40:04Speaker 3: a fan. So she was a fan, but.
- 40:06Speaker 6: Because that was the exact moment that boyfriend called because
- 40:08Speaker 6: you all were talking. So I missed the first part
- 40:10Speaker 6: of the conversation. After I talked to boyfriend, I wandered
- 40:13Speaker 6: over and I'm like, yeah, I missed the whole part.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 3: And we're like, Madonna! It's Madonna! Sorry, I called.
- 40:18Speaker 6: No, it's fine. I was just like, who's coming to
- 40:21Speaker 6: get us?
- 40:23Speaker 3: But no, she was super excited. That's the thing. I
- 40:26Speaker 3: was like, is she watching this ironically? And I asked her,
- 40:28Speaker 3: are you watching her dance moves? Going, I can do
- 40:30Speaker 3: better than that. But no, no, she was very impressed
- 40:33Speaker 3: with Madonna. And we were continually talking about how amazing
- 40:38Speaker 3: she has to be The.
- 40:40Speaker 6: Fact that Madonna can still do what Madonna does.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Like just to get up there on stage for several hours.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I'm like, I was like, I can't stand for several hours.
- 40:47Speaker 6: She said that she performed for over two and a
- 40:49Speaker 6: half hours.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like two and a half hours. It's like, look,
- 40:51Speaker 3: she's an old lady. She does not need to be
- 40:53Speaker 3: up there dancing around for two and a half hours.
- 40:55Speaker 3: But there she was. So like the stamina she's got
- 40:58Speaker 3: to have and how much working out she must do
- 41:00Speaker 3: every day of her life at her age to be
- 41:03Speaker 3: up there doing that.
- 41:04Speaker 6: Not even for her age.
- 41:06Speaker 3: In general, for anybody, but let alone, I mean, I
- 41:08Speaker 3: know it's so much harder. My knees are shot now
- 41:11Speaker 3: and I'm not on stage dancing around for two and
- 41:13Speaker 3: a half hours. In heels.
- 41:15Speaker 6: In heels.
- 41:16Speaker 3: And a bustier. So, yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 6: You only save that for the weekends.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Well, yeah. That doesn't hurt my knees near as much,
- 41:22Speaker 3: but it actually kind of helps my back a little.
- 41:24Speaker 3: But that aside, yeah, she was like, she was really
- 41:27Speaker 3: impressed with the show she put on. So it's good
- 41:30Speaker 3: to know she was a genuine fan and was still
- 41:32Speaker 3: like really excited to be there and see Madonna.
- 41:35Speaker 6: And she was super nice. She was very nice. She
- 41:37Speaker 6: even shook my hand and I didn't buy any of
- 41:39Speaker 6: her stuff.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Because she's an awesome person. So the other one I watched,
- 41:44Speaker 3: and this was one of those I knew of because
- 41:48Speaker 3: back when I was talking to Sam Irving, the director,
- 41:50Speaker 3: like I brought up a bunch of different stuff that
- 41:52Speaker 3: he'd done that was like older, like horror and sci-fi stuff.
- 41:55Speaker 3: And I was going down the list back then and
- 41:57Speaker 3: I remember seeing this one and I was like, I
- 41:59Speaker 3: don't think I remember that one. And then going through
- 42:02Speaker 3: Julie's list, I was like, oh, and Julie's in this movie. So,
- 42:05Speaker 3: as I got up there, that's what, I knew they were, like,
- 42:08Speaker 3: her and Sam are, like, really good friends and have
- 42:11Speaker 3: been for years, and they've worked on several projects together.
- 42:14Speaker 3: But as I'd gotten to this one, I was like,
- 42:15Speaker 3: I don't think this was, like, a huge movie. I
- 42:18Speaker 3: don't even know if I'll be able to find it. Nope,
- 42:19Speaker 3: it's totally streaming. So, if you haven't seen it, this
- 42:23Speaker 3: is Out There. And it was a, like, a sci-fi comedy,
- 42:28Speaker 3: but I was surprised how good it, I mean, no,
- 42:31Speaker 3: no Sam's always done really cool stuff, but, like, being, like,
- 42:35Speaker 3: super low budget, I was like, eh, you know, you
- 42:38Speaker 3: don't get your hopes up too high. This was, uh, 1995.
- 42:41Speaker 3: It's listed as a TV movie. I don't know where
- 42:43Speaker 3: it would have played, but I was really impressed with, like,
- 42:46Speaker 3: just how, like, it's a really fun idea, too. It's, like,
- 42:49Speaker 3: a guy, he's, like, a photographer, and he takes this one, like,
- 42:53Speaker 3: super impressive photo of, like, some horrible situation and, like,
- 42:57Speaker 3: wins a Pulitzer for that photo. And then after that, like,
- 43:01Speaker 3: just career doesn't go anywhere. And then at one point
- 43:04Speaker 3: he's at a yard sale and like, looks up and like, Oh, look,
- 43:08Speaker 3: this cool old brownie. Okay. I'll take this. How much?
- 43:11Speaker 3: And goes home and it's still got film in it.
- 43:13Speaker 3: So he has a dark room. He develops the film.
- 43:16Speaker 3: It's a spaceship and landing and then aliens coming out.
- 43:21Speaker 3: So it actually has real footage of, you know, real,
- 43:26Speaker 3: proof of aliens landing on Earth on this random old
- 43:29Speaker 3: camera that he found. It's kind of a cool concept.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I like that as a whole, but then once you
- 43:34Speaker 3: get into it, it's loaded with super hardcore sci-fi geek references,
- 43:39Speaker 3: which is Sam just stepping up and being a nerd.
- 43:42Speaker 3: He's like, oh yeah, I'm going to put this here.
- 43:43Speaker 3: There's so many geek references in it. It's crazy. And
- 43:47Speaker 3: then there's so many. Everybody else in the cast is
- 43:51Speaker 3: old school horror and sci-fi, so if you're watching it,
- 43:53Speaker 3: you're like, hey, that girl that just popped her head
- 43:55Speaker 3: out of the window, that's PJ Souls, for God's sakes.
- 43:58Speaker 6: I was like, I know PJ Souls.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Don't you try to, like, literally, she has, like, one
- 44:02Speaker 3: line and disappears. It was just a random cameo, and there's, like,
- 44:05Speaker 3: six or eight more like that. I was like, look
- 44:07Speaker 3: at all these random people in it. So, it's just, yeah,
- 44:11Speaker 3: if you're old school sci-fi or just, like, fun comedies, like,
- 44:15Speaker 3: I was surprised how much fun it was. It's just,
- 44:17Speaker 3: it doesn't take itself super seriously, but it's kind of
- 44:19Speaker 3: a cool concept, and has just all kinds of cool
- 44:22Speaker 3: references and cameos in it so it was a lot
- 44:25Speaker 3: of fun and of course julie's awesome so she lives
- 44:28Speaker 3: in a trailer i know you're shocked so those are
- 44:35Speaker 3: things i've seen i'd ask you guys what movies you've
- 44:38Speaker 3: watched but you don't watch movies anymore.
- 44:40Speaker 6: We apparently don't because i don't think we've watched any
- 44:42Speaker 6: the last thing i watched was the uh the latest
- 44:45Speaker 6: scream movie Which I don't think, because we did the rundown.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I don't think we talked about that last time.
- 44:49Speaker 6: I can't remember if we talked about it last time.
- 44:51Speaker 6: We can talk about how disappointed I was.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Oh, wait a minute. I've seen movies. Oh, Lord.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Ever?
- 44:56Speaker 6: No, wait.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Last time we talked was when?
- 45:00Speaker 6: A long time ago.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Okay, so I watched the original Fast and the Furious.
- 45:09Speaker 4: I've never seen it.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I think that's the only one I saw.
- 45:13Speaker 4: I've never seen it.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Once it got out of control, I just was like, eh, whatever.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Now I would almost, if you can get rid of,
- 45:19Speaker 3: what's his face, that other.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Which one?
- 45:22Speaker 3: Vin Diesel. Yeah, Vin Diesel. Oh, Vin Diesel's awesome. I
- 45:25Speaker 3: don't like Vin Diesel in general. Oh, he's so cringy.
- 45:28Speaker 3: I love him. He just seems like such a creep. Oh, dude,
- 45:31Speaker 3: he's awesome.
- 45:32Speaker 4: He's so bad. Bring me back Paul. I'll take Paul
- 45:35Speaker 4: any day. Chronicles of Riddick.
- 45:37Speaker 6: Oh, I liked the first Chronicles.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I liked it at the time. What's it? What was
- 45:42Speaker 3: the other one? Pitch Black was the first one. Pitch Black, yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Pitch Black I remember liking at the time because I
- 45:47Speaker 3: didn't know who he was.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:48Speaker 3: When I went back and watched, like years later, I
- 45:51Speaker 3: went back and re-watched Chronicles of Riddick, I was like, oh.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Oh, it's so cringy.
- 45:55Speaker 6: Is that the one that has Carl Urban in it?
- 45:57Speaker 3: Chronicles of Riddick?
- 45:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 4: One of them, yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I don't know, but there's one that like, there's a
- 46:02Speaker 3: scene that creeps me out. Like he is so, creepy
- 46:06Speaker 3: to the female lead i was just like.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah that's i guess it's pitch black yeah that's
- 46:09Speaker 4: the one where he's just dude it's it's just him
- 46:13Speaker 4: and a stream of just inappropriate sexual.
- 46:18Speaker 7: Indian yeah towards her but no i watched i watched
- 46:24Speaker 7: the first fast and furious which is funny because like
- 46:26Speaker 7: with a lot of things i don't when i get involved.
- 46:30Speaker 4: In stuff When I started fighting, everybody was like, this
- 46:34Speaker 4: is around the time when Fight Club came out. And
- 46:39Speaker 4: for anybody that doesn't know now, back in the late 90s,
- 46:43Speaker 4: early 2000s, I fought Muay Thai semi-pro. So everybody was like, oh, dude,
- 46:48Speaker 4: you got to watch Fight Club.
- 46:49Speaker 3: You got to watch Fight Club. You know what?
- 46:51Speaker 4: I was like, you know what?
- 46:51Speaker 3: Fuck you.
- 46:52Speaker 4: I ain't watching Fight Club because everybody tells me I
- 46:54Speaker 4: got to watch it. I ain't going to watch it.
- 46:55Speaker 4: And I think still to this day, I haven't watched
- 46:57Speaker 4: Fight Club. All the way through. I might have caught sniffs. No,
- 47:01Speaker 4: I have not watched Fight Club.
- 47:02Speaker 3: I mean, I understand there's many a movie that's been
- 47:05Speaker 3: ruined by people not shutting up about said movie.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what happened. People just kept hounding me
- 47:12Speaker 4: about it.
- 47:12Speaker 3: I like it for other... It's one of those, like,
- 47:14Speaker 3: I think you would have felt very differently had you
- 47:16Speaker 3: seen it now. It's one of those that I think...
- 47:18Speaker 3: You're like dumb college age boys thought it was really cool.
- 47:23Speaker 3: I'm using quotes for specific reasons. If you watch it
- 47:26Speaker 3: as a grown up, I don't, well, I don't know
- 47:28Speaker 3: if those guys ever really grow up, but if you
- 47:30Speaker 3: watch it as a rational person, like the stuff that
- 47:33Speaker 3: they think is cool. Is not what's cool about it.
- 47:35Speaker 3: There's some really awesome Fincher stuff in there that's awesome.
- 47:38Speaker 3: And I will, to this day, be like, yeah, I'll
- 47:40Speaker 3: watch Fight Club. But, yeah, the stuff that people at
- 47:42Speaker 3: the time, they were the same dudes that were like, oh,
- 47:45Speaker 3: Scarface is awesome, dude. Well, I don't think I would.
- 47:48Speaker 3: There's a lot of bro love for it. I don't
- 47:50Speaker 3: think I would.
- 47:51Speaker 4: Like, I would probably appreciate it now because I wouldn't
- 47:53Speaker 4: appreciate it at the time. Just like with Fast and
- 47:57Speaker 4: the Furious, again, late 90s. early tuner scene. I was
- 48:02Speaker 4: heavy into VWs, which I was talking to another guy
- 48:05Speaker 4: in Southern California. Internet's great. We were talking and, uh,
- 48:10Speaker 4: I was like, you know, I was in Florida. I
- 48:12Speaker 4: was in a, in a VW club called waterworks. And, uh,
- 48:15Speaker 4: he was like, I've never, I didn't know people were
- 48:18Speaker 4: like tuning water cooled VWs. And I was like, yeah,
- 48:22Speaker 4: I had a Mark one GTI. And, uh, There was
- 48:26Speaker 4: a guy there that had, like, a Mark II 16-valve GTI,
- 48:29Speaker 4: and the leader of the club, he had a Golf City,
- 48:34Speaker 4: which was... They don't even make those anymore. They don't
- 48:38Speaker 4: make a car like that, but the Golf City had, like,
- 48:42Speaker 4: no options. It had crank windows, no AC, no stereo.
- 48:45Speaker 3: It was the bottom of the barrel.
- 48:47Speaker 4: It was the bottom of the barrel.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Get OVW.
- 48:49Speaker 4: But, yeah, it was just stripped out, but a lot
- 48:53Speaker 4: of people bought them for autocross and stuff like that, so... Anyways,
- 48:58Speaker 4: if I had seen the movie at that time when
- 49:00Speaker 4: everybody's like, oh, you gotta watch Fast and the Furious, blah, blah, blah.
- 49:03Speaker 4: And I was like, I don't care because the Honda
- 49:05Speaker 4: guys were kind of our rivals. And it seemed like
- 49:08Speaker 4: most of that movie was about Hondas and I just
- 49:10Speaker 4: didn't care. Now I was like, you know what? I'm
- 49:15Speaker 4: going to get that movie and I'm actually going to
- 49:16Speaker 4: sit down and watch it.
- 49:17Speaker 6: And who got this movie for you?
- 49:18Speaker 4: Misty.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Misty.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Best girlfriend ever got it for me.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Whatever. It's his movie. He created it.
- 49:23Speaker 4: But, you know, I ended up getting sick, of course,
- 49:26Speaker 4: like at the beginning of the year. And so I
- 49:29Speaker 4: was like, you know what? I got time. I'm going
- 49:31Speaker 4: to sit and watch Fast and the Furious. And if
- 49:35Speaker 4: I had seen it back then I would have picked
- 49:37Speaker 4: it apart, you know, Oh, you can't do that. That's
- 49:40Speaker 4: not right.
- 49:40Speaker 6: No, it's not real.
- 49:41Speaker 4: That's not the way that works. You know, all this
- 49:43Speaker 4: other stuff and just the, the cringy lines and it's
- 49:47Speaker 4: so full of cringe lines. Uh, and Vin Diesel's just cringy,
- 49:52Speaker 4: but it's, it's funny now when I go back and
- 49:54Speaker 4: watch it, it's so hilarious. I had a great time
- 49:59Speaker 4: actually watching it for the first time. Like, I don't
- 50:02Speaker 4: even know when the movie came out.
- 50:03Speaker 3: When did that come out?
- 50:04Speaker 4: Like late 90s?
- 50:05Speaker 3: That's a long time ago.
- 50:06Speaker 4: So it's like over 25 years later to sit down
- 50:09Speaker 4: and watch it. I actually enjoyed it. And it brought
- 50:12Speaker 4: back some nostalgia. It brought back a lot of 90s
- 50:18Speaker 4: feelings that, you know, I was just like, man, that
- 50:20Speaker 4: was such a great time. Car meetups, street racing, even
- 50:25Speaker 4: though our cars, you know, back then, some like 120
- 50:27Speaker 4: horsepower was a lot. For a car, and now kids
- 50:32Speaker 4: are getting cars with like, you know.
- 50:34Speaker 7: 2001.
- 50:34Speaker 6: 300, what is it, 2001?
- 50:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but it takes a couple of years before, you know,
- 50:40Speaker 3: the new decade kind of kicks in. So it's still
- 50:42Speaker 3: very 90s-esque. Yeah, it's still 90s.
- 50:44Speaker 4: But yeah, I watched that. And I want to say
- 50:49Speaker 4: there was another movie I watched, but I can't remember
- 50:51Speaker 4: right off the top of my head what it was.
- 50:54Speaker 6: Other than Conan the Barbarian that you always watch? Oh, yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Every time I get sick, this is my go-to.
- 51:00Speaker 6: Comfort.
- 51:02Speaker 4: When I get super sick, like fever and stuff like that,
- 51:06Speaker 4: is drink a bunch of NyQuil, bundle up, cocoon myself,
- 51:11Speaker 4: and watch Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, and Red Sonja.
- 51:16Speaker 4: All back to.
- 51:18Speaker 6: You're going to destroy and conquer that illness. That's what
- 51:21Speaker 6: you're saying.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Well, now, I end up taking a bunch of cough syrup.
- 51:26Speaker 6: Start tripping?
- 51:27Speaker 4: And start, like, completely tripping.
- 51:31Speaker 3: It seems fitting for the first one, because the first one,
- 51:33Speaker 3: at moments, feels like a fever dream. Oh, it is.
- 51:35Speaker 4: It's a whole fever dream for me.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Like, I remembered it as a kid, but I didn't
- 51:38Speaker 3: remember much about it. And then when I rewatched it
- 51:40Speaker 3: for the show years later, I was just like, this
- 51:42Speaker 3: is way more of like a weird art house kind
- 51:45Speaker 3: of movie that just also happens to have Schwarzenegger and
- 51:47Speaker 3: like a lot of blood and gore and sword carrying.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:51Speaker 4: It's great when you're like super bombed out of your
- 51:54Speaker 4: brain on cough syrup and, and running a high fever.
- 51:58Speaker 4: And you're like, you're right there in the movie with them,
- 52:01Speaker 4: you know? And, uh, but yeah, I watched those again
- 52:04Speaker 4: and that's, that's all I can think of. I can't
- 52:07Speaker 4: think of anything else that I might've watched aside from
- 52:09Speaker 4: like rewatching, uh, hackers for like.
- 52:13Speaker 3: The billionth time. The 9,000th time.
- 52:15Speaker 4: Dude, I watch hackers so much. I fucking love that movie.
- 52:19Speaker 3: But, uh, yeah, I can't, I can't think of anything else.
- 52:22Speaker 3: I've got a bunch of movies.
- 52:23Speaker 4: I've, I bought a bunch, uh, of stuff that I
- 52:26Speaker 4: wanted to go back and rewatch, uh, and stuff that
- 52:29Speaker 4: I haven't watched. Um, Like, Dune. I never got to see, like,
- 52:35Speaker 4: the original Dune.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Original David Lynch Dune. Not the recent one.
- 52:39Speaker 4: No, I don't give a shit about the recent one
- 52:40Speaker 4: or the popcorn bucket.
- 52:41Speaker 3: I might watch it at some point. And I might
- 52:44Speaker 3: do the popcorn bucket.
- 52:45Speaker 4: What do I care? Do the popcorn bucket.
- 52:46Speaker 3: What do I care?
- 52:47Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I never saw the original all the way
- 52:51Speaker 4: through because, like, at the time when it came out,
- 52:54Speaker 4: you know.
- 52:55Speaker 3: It did not have a good reputation. Well, no, uh.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Steve, was it rated R or was it rated PG-13?
- 53:03Speaker 3: I think it was too early. It probably wasn't a PG-13.
- 53:05Speaker 3: It was probably R.
- 53:07Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever it was, whatever rating it had, it was
- 53:09Speaker 4: a rating that my overly religious parents would not let
- 53:12Speaker 4: me watch.
- 53:13Speaker 3: I can see that.
- 53:14Speaker 4: So I think even on TV, we were at a
- 53:18Speaker 4: friend's house and it came on TV and he came
- 53:21Speaker 4: in there and was like, what are you watching?
- 53:23Speaker 7: Porn.
- 53:24Speaker 4: Watching dune you know and he's like yeah turn that off.
- 53:28Speaker 3: This is nerd stuff leave me alone turn it off
- 53:30Speaker 3: you know it's like spices and shit yeah like this
- 53:34Speaker 3: isn't like anything to worry about this is sci-fi nerd.
- 53:38Speaker 6: Stuff he was afraid you were gonna get hooked on
- 53:39Speaker 6: the spices.
- 53:40Speaker 3: That's probably true get yourself a spice habit.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Yeah but yeah i got that so i need to
- 53:46Speaker 4: sit down and watch that because.
- 53:47Speaker 6: I haven't it's been years since i've seen it that
- 53:50Speaker 6: might be a you on your own uh.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:53Speaker 6: Or me, I could be doing my cross stitch.
- 53:55Speaker 4: You could be doing your cross stitch. I was thinking
- 53:57Speaker 4: about watching that.
- 53:59Speaker 6: Well, I do like Kyle MacLachlan.
- 54:01Speaker 3: You do? And that's why I was like. It's a
- 54:02Speaker 3: young Kyle.
- 54:03Speaker 6: Yeah. And Alicia, isn't Alicia Witt in it for like
- 54:05Speaker 6: a hot second?
- 54:06Speaker 3: I think she's the weird little princess girl or something.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 6: She's a little kid.
- 54:10Speaker 4: What was the other movies you bought for me?
- 54:12Speaker 6: I don't know. I just bought shit.
- 54:14Speaker 3: No. Okay.
- 54:16Speaker 4: But yeah, I went back and got Cobra. Stallone, because
- 54:19Speaker 4: I love Cobra.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Cobra, I loved it at the time. I feel like
- 54:22Speaker 3: now I would have to, like, a little... I think
- 54:25Speaker 3: even then there was a little irony to my, like... Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 3: It's so cheesy. Like, it is so.
- 54:29Speaker 6: It is.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Like, the car is amazing, yet ridiculous. Oh, yeah. The
- 54:33Speaker 3: match is just ridiculous.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 3: It's just there's so many... The lines are fucking ridiculous. Oh,
- 54:39Speaker 3: it's all... But I loved it at the time, so
- 54:41Speaker 3: I don't think I could get away with... yeah oh
- 54:45Speaker 3: dune is pg-13 it was 84 so i was like
- 54:47Speaker 3: it's right there it could have been yeah yeah it
- 54:49Speaker 3: was pg-13 yeah too much for your fragile little mind.
- 54:53Speaker 4: Yeah well whatever but uh you know i was sneaking
- 54:58Speaker 4: over to my friend's house to watch bloodsport so we.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Know you're messed up by now so yeah obviously this
- 55:04Speaker 3: is what did it but uh horrible movies warped your
- 55:07Speaker 3: mind It's.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Just me just going back really and getting a lot
- 55:11Speaker 4: of the old 80s action movies. So like, you know,
- 55:15Speaker 4: Commando and Cobra and Missing in Action and Total Recall and....
- 55:25Speaker 6: Was Cobra one that we watched together?
- 55:26Speaker 4: Yeah, we watched that together.
- 55:28Speaker 6: Did we talk about that on the podcast?
- 55:29Speaker 3: I don't know if we did or not. I don't
- 55:31Speaker 3: think so. What was your take on it? I'm assuming
- 55:33Speaker 3: this was your first time, Misty?
- 55:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I'd never seen it before, but it seems like
- 55:36Speaker 6: for some reason... I think I had a poster of
- 55:38Speaker 6: it up my wall.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Or you're thinking of mine, because I had a poster
- 55:41Speaker 3: of it growing up, and then I transferred it onto
- 55:43Speaker 3: the wall when we first started recording. You remember the
- 55:46Speaker 3: old Falling Apart house that we started in? I had
- 55:49Speaker 3: Cobra on the wall, and you were probably facing it,
- 55:51Speaker 3: if I remember right. So that's maybe where you're melding
- 55:54Speaker 3: these things into your brain.
- 55:56Speaker 6: What was that one movie with Schwarzenegger? That might have
- 56:00Speaker 6: been what I had on my wall. Erasure?
- 56:02Speaker 4: Erasure.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Yeah, if you like Vanessa Williams.
- 56:04Speaker 6: I've never seen the movie.
- 56:05Speaker 3: I just, I just watched it like in the last year.
- 56:07Speaker 6: It's not bad. I picked up some like posters like
- 56:10Speaker 6: for really cheap ones. And that was one of them.
- 56:12Speaker 6: I'm just like, sure, I'll put it up on my
- 56:13Speaker 6: fucking wall.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I had so many things. Like I was such a
- 56:15Speaker 3: movie dork. Like I would just get any movie. So
- 56:18Speaker 3: I was like, there were coveted ones that I would
- 56:20Speaker 3: have to make a trip to like the flea market
- 56:22Speaker 3: because there wasn't a fucking internet. Like there was nowhere.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Like I lived in the middle of nowhere, you know, here.
- 56:27Speaker 3: And like there was nowhere to buy posters. So that
- 56:30Speaker 3: dude at the flea market like changed my life. Every
- 56:33Speaker 3: movie poster, every one sheet that I bought came from
- 56:35Speaker 3: that guy. And then later, as they got a little,
- 56:38Speaker 3: like the more the promo stuff started coming out, I
- 56:40Speaker 3: had a bunch of them that I would just get
- 56:42Speaker 3: because it was a movie. And there were posters I
- 56:45Speaker 3: hung up on my wall that to this day I
- 56:46Speaker 3: still haven't seen. Yeah. Well, I got lucky.
- 56:49Speaker 4: Because my mom worked at a, she worked at a,
- 56:53Speaker 4: it was a gas station slash like little mini food mart.
- 56:58Speaker 4: And right when they started getting VHS tapes, They got
- 57:01Speaker 4: movie posters to put up on the windows. So they
- 57:04Speaker 4: wouldn't put all the movie posters up. They would, cause
- 57:07Speaker 4: they didn't have that many windows. So I got like cliffhanger.
- 57:12Speaker 3: Nice.
- 57:13Speaker 4: I've got, uh, I've got.
- 57:16Speaker 6: A sense that you probably don't have them anymore.
- 57:17Speaker 4: Do you?
- 57:17Speaker 7: Huh?
- 57:18Speaker 6: You don't have them anymore.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Do you?
- 57:19Speaker 4: I still have them.
- 57:20Speaker 6: Oh, you do?
- 57:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Most of the stuff I have. Yeah, but I
- 57:23Speaker 3: got any. But they all look like crap because I
- 57:25Speaker 3: was a kid.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Mine are like in pretty good condition because I didn't really,
- 57:29Speaker 4: there's a couple of them I hung up, but most
- 57:31Speaker 4: of them I didn't. But I told my mom, I
- 57:33Speaker 4: was like, grab me any of the martial arts ones.
- 57:35Speaker 4: So I have like a lot of Cynthia Rothrock, like
- 57:39Speaker 4: Lady Dragon and some other martial arts posters that.
- 57:44Speaker 6: I can't remember.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Is there a Knights that she was in? I remember
- 57:46Speaker 3: watching one of the first things that she did that
- 57:49Speaker 3: was some sort of like, sort of sci-fi thing, but, like,
- 57:53Speaker 3: if I remember, she, like, jumped up. There was a
- 57:55Speaker 3: dude riding a horse. She jumped from the ground and
- 57:58Speaker 3: kicked him off his horse. And, like, I was like,
- 58:00Speaker 3: I think she actually did that.
- 58:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Like, it wasn't a special effect. I think she just
- 58:04Speaker 3: did that.
- 58:05Speaker 4: No, I got a Jackie Chan poster. I've got, uh, man,
- 58:10Speaker 4: what else? I can't think what the other posters are
- 58:16Speaker 4: right off the top of my head, but they were, like,
- 58:18Speaker 4: movies that I... Got, because they were martial arts movies. Oh,
- 58:22Speaker 4: a kick, was it kickboxing? No, it's the one that's
- 58:26Speaker 4: got Don Wilson in it. I can't remember. Might have
- 58:29Speaker 4: been Dragon Fist.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Everybody, yeah, everybody got their, like, one movie chance at
- 58:33Speaker 3: being an action star. I remember somebody listed something on
- 58:36Speaker 3: Facebook lately, and they went through all the, like, Either
- 58:39Speaker 3: like martial arts guys that were up and coming, like
- 58:41Speaker 3: your Jeff Speakmans.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:43Speaker 3: It was like those guys that you got one movie, dude.
- 58:46Speaker 3: You make it or you disappear.
- 58:48Speaker 4: I've got one of his posters and I don't remember
- 58:50Speaker 4: the name of it.
- 58:51Speaker 3: I'm surprised I pulled Jeff Speakman. I completely forgot about that.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Where did this guy come from?
- 58:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:56Speaker 3: And then he had his one movie and then he disappeared.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Anybody that was at the time a kickboxer, because American
- 59:01Speaker 4: kickboxing was getting really big. So, yeah, people like Don Wilson.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Don the Dragon Wilson. Benny Ray.
- 59:10Speaker 4: Was in a lot of stuff. Who is the British guy?
- 59:15Speaker 4: He was in a few things, too. Can't think of
- 59:17Speaker 4: what his name is. He was in a couple of
- 59:20Speaker 4: Jackie Chan movies. And then he had a couple of
- 59:23Speaker 4: movies by himself. Yeah, I'm drawing a blank right now.
- 59:28Speaker 4: But Mark Dacascos, which is crazy that he's still acting.
- 59:33Speaker 4: He's still in really good shape because I follow him
- 59:36Speaker 4: on Instagram. And the dude's in amazing shape.
- 59:40Speaker 6: We were talking about you and Mark Dacascos today.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Oh, you were?
- 59:43Speaker 6: Because we were talking about.
- 59:44Speaker 3: The controversy that is.
- 59:47Speaker 6: How you actually like Mark Dacascos, but will not watch
- 59:51Speaker 6: the Crow TV show.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I won't.
- 59:54Speaker 6: Because we were talking about... The new atrocity.
- 59:57Speaker 3: Everybody in the world losing their mind over one photo
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: of the crow. Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: You know, fuck that movie. You know, I don't give
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: a shit who they fucking put in any crow movie.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: There will be no other crow movie that ever fucking
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: exists aside from the original that was made.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: You know, you're just quoting everything I read over the
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: last week.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: And never, ever. And I didn't, I didn't chime in
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: on any of that. I saw it and ignored it
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: because I.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: Eventually put a picture of a crow. Yeah.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: Most of the people are like on there is like,
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: I didn't want to get on there and go, you
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: don't know how obsessed with this movie I was.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: I was like, I have a crow trunk.
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: You have a crow tattoo.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: I have a crow tattoo. I collected every single fucking
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: thing I could get my hands on from this movie
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: and almost got a stand up. And I tried to
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: get a rapid fire stand up and I had already
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: given the guy my money for it and was getting
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: ready to put it in my car. And the lady
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: that owned the video store goes, don't sell that. That
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: guy just died.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: That could be worth money.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: And I was like, And the guy handed me my
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: $ 20 back and said, no, we can't sell this.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I was just like, ah.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: But yeah, the VH copy of the movie before it
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: even came out, because again, I had my mom worked
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: at a video store. She ordered me an advanced copy
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: before anybody got it on VHS, which was a big
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: fucking deal back then. Because remember, movies came out and
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: then you didn't get the VHS copy for like How long?
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: I mean, they came out at rental price, and then
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: sometimes they, like, didn't come out at, like, a sell-through price.
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: No.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Sometimes it just was for the rental market, and they
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: rode that out forever, but.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: And I think at the time, I probably spent around $ 75,
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: which was a lot back then to get a VHS tape. So,
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: I mean, I've got, you know, I was a, well,
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: you know, you grew up. grew up in the 70s, so,
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: you know, you're a huge Bruce Lee fan, and then
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: it was like, oh, well, he's got a son, and
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: his son makes movies, and I like his son, his
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: son's cool, and, uh, let's start buying his movies, you know,
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: so I got really into it pre-Crow, yeah, so I
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: just didn't, I stayed out of the whole thing, I'm
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: just like, yeah, you know, everybody, that knows me knows
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: my thoughts on it. And I'm just like, fuck that movie.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: It's funny. Once you said that, I started thinking, I
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: was like, actually it triggered. I remember that was one
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: of those that didn't come through at a cheap sell
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: through price. It did come out rental priced. And it
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: was like a good amount of time before, because that
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: being the, you know, video store dork that I was like, we,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: you would get them and like, we could special order
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: them at like rental prices.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: But like people would come in and throw their little fit.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: They'd be like, oh man, I want that new movie.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: How much is it? It'd be like $ 99.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: 99.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: They'd be like, what the hell? They'd freak out. The
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Crow was the one that we had, because then it
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: might be like six months later, they'd mark it down
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: and it might only be $ 24.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: 99.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: $ 19.
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: 99.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: The Crow was when we had multiple people come in
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: and order it At the rental price.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: We had several people come in and put down $ 99. 99
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: to order that.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Maybe that's how much I... Or.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: $ 79, whatever it was.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I remember it was a lot of money.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: It was a lot of money. But I do remember.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: Because my.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Mom looked at me and was like, for a movie?
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: And I was like, yes. I was like, you don't understand.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: And it was like, okay, whatever. You got a job,
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: so get your money.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: You can blow your money if you want to.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: But I remember grabbing newspaper articles. Uh, going, this is
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: like at the very beginnings of the internet, getting on
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: the computer at the library and printing out on like
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: dot matrix paper, anything I could find like autopsy stuff.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Not that I was obsessed, but just any newspaper clippings
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: that I could find and find. Like, of course it
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: was all just text, text file and printing everything out. So,
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: I had a folder of stuff that I had printed
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: out from the library because I didn't have a computer. Because,
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: you know, you had to be kind of rich to
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: have a computer.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Eventually, we had one for the entire family.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: And, like, I remember still, like, looking up, like, specific
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: nerd stuff. Well, we did, too.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: And it was the early, early days of dial-up. And so,
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: where they were.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a mess.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: Yeah, you couldn't download pictures online. uh at all so
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: there was no uh it's gonna take about 15 minutes
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: to download a picture.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: No like it was two hours later it's still 40.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Well no i don't think his computer was even even
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: powerful enough to to download pictures and and it didn't
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: have very good probably didn't even have a video card
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: i don't know this was all text only.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: So those early days were rough man yeah they.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: Were but uh But yeah, I was a nut about it.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I found the one I was thinking of. So I'm
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: going to ask you from the other end, do you
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: know Kathy Long?
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: According to this, she was like an actual kickboxer. And
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: that's what, I mean, it seemed like it because I
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: remember watching and it was called Nights.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Kathy Long was the other one, yeah.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: What's funny is, directed by a friend of the show,
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Albert Pune. Really? Rest in peace, Albert. He was an
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: awesome dude. But he made a lot of those kind
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: of movies back in the day. Yeah, I forgot about
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: Kathy Long. And pretty much all of his life. But, yeah,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: I remember watching this one, like, on VHS. And, like,
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: it is one of those, like, because she hadn't been acting,
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: I feel like, much. So, like, I'm watching this going, well,
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: I mean, she's not much of an actress. And then, like,
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: she kicks that dude off a horse. I'm like, oh,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: that's what she's here for.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: She can actually do this stuff. But, yeah, nice. Surprisingly,
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: I didn't realize Chris Christopherson's in it and Lance Hendrickson.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I may have to rewatch this at some point. What
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: was that guy's name that you.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: Referenced earlier and i would.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Speakman yeah just speak jeff speakman for some reason his
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: name i guess because it's speakman always stuck as like
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: the weird one-off dude that got his own like i'm
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: gonna be the next one the next action guy and
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: then like he just yeah.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Kimpo kimpo karate that's what he was in and that's
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: the popester i have.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: Is the yeah that's the one i remember the one
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: right there the perfect weapon perfect weapon that's the one
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: i remember yeah Because I don't even think I watched it.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I just remember going, so this is.
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: Supposed to be the next big dude. No, I watched it.
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: I watched it.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: I thought it was pretty good back in the day.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: But then remember, like, they started, like, any random, like,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: sports guy could also get a one-off.
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: They kept bringing in, like, all these football, the boss,
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: got his own action movie. And, like, they just would
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: rope anybody into it.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: Well, that's even, like, with the ninja movies. Remember Gymkata?
- 1:07:05Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, we're going to have this gymnastics guy,
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: and he's going to be a martial artist. What is
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: martial arts gymnastics?
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Well, he's an athlete.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Yeah, he can, like, flexible.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: He can do stuff, right? So that's what you've seen. Misty,
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: what did you think of the last Scream movie? We
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: got sidetracked.
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: That was not even a sidetrack. That was an entirely
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: different journey.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Wow, okay, so bring it back around town.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Were we talking about yours?
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Yes, we were.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Because you were going to say what you thought about Scream.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: I totally hijacked your shit, didn't.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: I? I just didn't want it to get lost. I
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: still want to hear what your thoughts are on Scream. Oh,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: Okay, Scream 6 wasn't that good.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: So anyway, back to Jeff Spiegel. Yeah, back to Jeff Spiegel.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: It was just the same bullshit. I mean, I love
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: the Scream series up until this movie.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: I mean, I still like this one. I just feel
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: like it's more listening.
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: It was a rehash of the exact same shit. It was, oh,
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: who is the bad guy? Spoiler alert if you haven't
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: seen these movies.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Full spoilers, although we did an episode on it.
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: Just skip on past for like a good 30, 40
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: seconds because I probably won't talk very long about it.
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: But it's like, oh, who's the bad guy? It's the
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: parents and family of the person who got killed in
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: the last episode.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Every Scream movie.
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: But, no, at least.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Well, that's what I'm saying. I mean, I said this
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: with the fourth one. I'm like, so change it up. Like, dude,
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: especially now. Like, now that they've lost their... I mean,
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: their real star. I mean, granted, she wasn't the main star,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: but they lost the main girl who became a superstar.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: And they now no longer have their director. So, like,
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: they're losing all their people. Just don't even come back. Like, what,
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: are you going to bring the twins back as the
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: leads now?
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Like, so... I mean, I like the twins. But I'm like,
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: I don't see them leading the franchise.
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: So.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm like, just do something else with it.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: it like totally mix it up if you're gonna even
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: I mean it's just manufacturing money so they're not gonna
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: stop making them but find something interesting to do.
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: Don't just recycle the exact same plot.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: It's like, I like the reboot idea they did with 5,
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: and like, okay, that has to be kind of repetitive
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: because it's the nature of what it's doing, but just,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: I don't know, you can't turn around and do that
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: again for 6.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Which one had Emma Roberts?
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Uh, 4.
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: Is that 4? I like 4.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: I've said it so many times on this show, but
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I'm going to say it again. That's what I said
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: at the time when we watched Scream 4. I was like,
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: you've got the perfect chance to switch things up. First
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: of all, kill off Courtney Cox. Damn it. Right there
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: in the barn killer. Then once we've got rid of her,
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: like mix it up, like instead off Nev right there,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: like take out Sydney, like no offense. I like her.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: She's really good even in five, but I'm just like,
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: it would mix things up at the end of the movie,
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: kill off Sydney. follow Emma Roberts. Like, she was such
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: an amazing character.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: And I'm like, I know you made her the.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Villain, but I'm like, who cares? Mix it up and
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: follow her around and watch her, like, because she's so
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: manipulative in it. I'm like, let's watch her be a
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: killer from the other side now. So we're not playing whodunit.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: We know who it is. We're watching her and we're
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: watching her play these games with people and, like, maneuver
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: her way out of situations and get to murder whoever
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: the hell she wants. I'm like, wouldn't that be different
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: and at least fucking interesting instead of oh, the family
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: of somebody's pissed off and they're going to murder you
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: wearing a mask.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I just wanted to follow Emma Roberts because she's way cooler.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: I was happy that Kirby came back, though.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that was fun. I was sad that she just
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: sort of disappeared and people just assumed she was dead
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: after the end of that one. So I'm like, well,
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: we never saw her dead, really.
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: I do like the theory that Stu's not really dead.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: I think we've discussed that one. That's been an ongoing
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: one for years.
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: Supposedly, he's in the background of number... Was it number two?
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: He literally was, but it's just him hanging out on set.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: He just came there to hang out, and they were like,
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: come on, be in.
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: The background of the party! Which still lends itself to
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: me to be a whole other thing.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Creates a loophole.
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: I like it, because, I mean, who knows? But, yeah,
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: the numbers... It was just so exactly the... Don't... It's
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: so unoriginal. As soon as I knew he had a daughter,
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, fuck, it's this guy. This guy, because
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: he talked about his... Didn't he mention his son who
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: died or something? I'm like, oh, fuck. It's so predictable
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: on this one. I was like, holy shit. No, come on.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: I almost like where they were going the first part.
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: When they had the guys that were determined to finish
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: the other guy's film, at least that would have been...
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: It was an interesting way to mix it up so
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: that what we thought was going on in the opening scene,
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: they like murdered them immediately. And like, that wasn't the thing.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: So I liked that for originality. It was different than
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: the other opening scenes, but I'm like, as the rest
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: of it unfolded, I was like, actually that first part
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: was an original idea. Like you probably could have gone
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: with that and done something cool. Instead we get kind
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: of similar to what happens every other screen.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: And I wouldn't even be minded it. Cause as much
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: as I don't really like the whole thing about, Oh,
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: it's Billy's daughter. At least if they had gone through
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: with that and make her kind of, maybe she eventually
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: does turn into a serial killer.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: And that's kind of where they were playing that back
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: and forth game. And I'm like, once again, I'd be like,
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: it'd be kind of interesting if after all of this, like,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: I don't know, it might've just pissed everybody off. Maybe
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: me too. I don't know. Cause we get like, especially
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: by this one, like we get into them and like,
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: we like these four characters that are left and haven't
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: been murdered. And we kind of want to watch them.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: So like it might, once you get that attached, I
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: think it'd be different to that first movie. We wouldn't
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: have been that attached. And we'd be like, ah, who cares?
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: But no, Once you spit two movies with them, you're like.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: I want them to bring it all the way back
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: around and the next movie have Nev be the killer.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: I think it was kind of going there for a
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: while and now I think they've just made her such
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: a hero that they probably wouldn't do that. But again,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: that would have been more interesting in four than what
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: we got.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: Maybe after all these years, Nev has finally fucking flipped.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: That's it. Everywhere I go, people get murdered. I've lost it.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: You're gonna get murdered anyways. I might as well do it.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: I don't know. I still think it's probably the most
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: solid film horror series. Like, all the way through, I
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: can even watch Six over most other bad slashery movies.
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: I was so completely underwhelmed. I was just like, oh,
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: that was a movie. And Boyfriend wouldn't even, since he
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: left the room, he just kept leaving. He was just like,
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: I just got up and walked away. Oh, man. I
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: don't know.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: I still like the series.
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: I love the series.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: I had fun with Six at the time, but I just,
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: I do feel like it There's only so many times
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: you can go back to that well, you know? And
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: it's like, by the time we hit four, we were
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: already doing like five is at least a reboot. So
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: of course we got to kind of circle back around
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: on it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: They need to pull a Halloween three.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: Just do something. Well, that's what I said. Like totally
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: change genres almost by the time they got the four
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: and like make it a freaking American psycho. Just follow
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: somebody around killing people. Like who cares? Like mix it up.
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: But not American psycho too. Cause nobody likes that movie.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: I watched that. It was a movie.
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: I saw it.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: I own a copy of it. It's totally a movie.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: In the loosest sense of the word.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Doesn't really make sense even as a movie, but it's
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: a movie.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: Who else is in that? I just remember Mila. Is
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: Shatner in that?
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe he is. Maybe I've blocked that part out.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: I just remember Mila.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: Maybe I'm just making that part up. Not the cool
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: Mila either.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: Well, I mean, she's always kind of a dork. That's
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: why you like her, me.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I liked her. Then she came forward talking about
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: how good her co-star was even after he fucking raped people.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: That was a weird move on both of their parts.
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: That 70s show.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: Oh, that Mila.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: That was a weird move for both of them. I
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: was like, guys, again, however you feel about it, but
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: officially you should probably just shut up right now. You're
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: going to get yourself in trouble. So, yeah, that was.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: Weird for both of them. Don't defend this guy. It's
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: not okay. Don't. There's no defending this guy. Don't be like, oh, well,
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: he was good to me when I was 14 and
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: he was talking about how pretty I was. And I'm
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: just like, dude, stop.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: You're not helping any. You are not.
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: You are not.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: He's probably sitting in jail going, shh, shh, you're not helping.
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: Shut up. I don't remember her exact quotes. So do not, like,
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: come after me on that.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: It was just weird making a public statement at all
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: at that point. Like I said, just shut up.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Just shut up.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Yeah. You're not helping and nobody wants to hear you.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: We've already decided. That's why he's in jail. Like, nobody
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: needs to hear your take on it.
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: Yeah, not cool. Not cool at all.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: But.
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: But yeah, like I said, it was just, it was
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: underwhelming and I was not a fan. It was predictable.
- 1:15:45Speaker 6: That's what made the first one so fucking, the first one,
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: I didn't, I didn't fucking see that coming. The first one,
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: out of left field.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: It was a pretty original concept at the time. I
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: feel like, again, even watching it the first time, I
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: was like, So many things about it were just done
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: differently than the way they'd been doing slashers before.
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: But then number five was just a rehash of the
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: first one with it being the boyfriend.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: Which it's supposed to be. Again, like I said, it's
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: a repeat of it on purpose. So I'm like, all right,
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: I get why you're doing that. That's fine. Whatever. And
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: it was fun.
- 1:16:17Speaker 6: But then the fact that six was a complete remake
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: of two. And I'm just like, quit. Stop.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: I know. We've beat this to death. So we just
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: need to mix it up and do something else.
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: Us in general or Scream?
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: I mean, all of the above, truthfully.
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: There's no hope for me, but Scream, I mean, that's
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: still got potential.
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: Does it really at this point?
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: It's got a better chance than me. Well, anything else
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: you've had going on that you'd like to discuss?
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: We've been watching the whatever most recent season of What
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: We Do in the Shadows.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: Is this the fourth one, I think?
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: Whichever one had fucking baby Colin growing up to like
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: teen Colin.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I think that was the one before
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: this one.
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: We're still trying to get caught up. I'm already kind
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: of thinking the show has jumped to the shark because
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: this whole season has just been a whole bunch of eh.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I still like them. Again, I think it's just sort
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: of some episodes hit better than others, but I still
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: enjoyed it.
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: I don't like them trying to make Guillermo a badass.
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: He's not a badass. Quit trying to make him, oh,
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: he's a Van Helsing descendant. It's not viable. It's not.
- 1:17:28Speaker 6: I'm just, it's not.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: I just like him. It's hard for me to not
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: like him.
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: And it's, I like Nandor. And even he's just been
- 1:17:36Speaker 6: kind of, ugh, this whole season. And I'm just. Everything
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: about it, maybe because we just started watching the whole
- 1:17:42Speaker 6: thing from the beginning and watched it all in a row.
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: Maybe I'm just getting burned out on it.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, because I only saw them one season at a time,
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: and it was a good year or more, usually, before
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: the next one came around.
- 1:17:52Speaker 6: Well, let's begin with my go-to cross-stitch background, because I'm
- 1:17:55Speaker 6: sure Boyfriend got tired of all the murder shows, so
- 1:17:57Speaker 6: I was just like, oh, we'll watch this instead. And
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: so the first two or three seasons, I'm like, god,
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: this show is just as good as I remember. And
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: then they get into the nightclub. The nightclub was stupid.
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: The fucking dancing Colin is just, it's so stupid.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: It's so disturbing looking. Everything about him as the baby was, like,
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: just disturbing. And, like, I guess that's what they were
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: going for. But, man, it worked. Like, it didn't look real.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: It just looked weird. And it didn't look right.
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: And it was just so annoying. And I just, I
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: didn't like, I haven't really enjoyed any of this season
- 1:18:34Speaker 6: that we're on right now. So hopefully it gets better.
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: Hopefully it hasn't officially jumped the shark. Because I do
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: like this show. I do like these people. And I'm just,
- 1:18:43Speaker 6: I'm not feeling it. I'm not even sure how far along.
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: She's just burned her club down. Spoiler alert.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: See i thought that was last season so i think
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: they've done one more oh.
- 1:18:52Speaker 6: Has it gotten better i was wondering did they change
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: writers at some point.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: I don't know i don't remember it being drastic i
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: mean they just change up the Which, I mean, there's
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: only so much you can do with that idea. So
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: I can see them, like, coming up with a whole
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: different theme for the new season. That's why I was like,
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: at least the nightclub's, like, a different location. Like, it's
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: just a different thing for them to do. But, because,
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: I mean, how many things can you do with them
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: sitting in that same house every episode? So I don't
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: want to be one of the writers, is what I'm saying.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: I feel like you'd run out of stuff pretty quick.
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: Like, I was even okay with, like, them bringing out
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: a boyfriend for Guillermo. But then for him to, in
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: the same fucking episode, almost lose him to himself. What
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: the fuck?
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: That was weird. I just.
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: No, thank you. I would have rather at least explore
- 1:19:44Speaker 6: him having a relationship and being happy. Don't just like, oh,
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: I've got a boyfriend. Oh, Nandor made his wife look
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: just like my boyfriend. And then they're together. What? Spoilers
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: if you haven't seen that one. You can go ahead
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: and pass it.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: It's not good.
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Well, if we're caught up.
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: I think we're good. I think we've rambled way too long.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: That's what we do. Yeah. So thank you once again
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: to Lexington Comic and Toy Convention for letting us come
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: and be part of the fun. We had a lot
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: of fun today, and we bought stuff, and we saw people,
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: and we got autographs. So, yeah, it's all cool.
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: No, I just meant the website. It's just Lexington Comic Con.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: LexingtonComicCon.com. That's a lot of K. That is what you
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: should be going to, lexingtoncomiccon.com. And go get yours next time. Because, yeah,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: once again, I think they sold out this year. So
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: it is continuing to find a huge audience. And they
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: bring in bigger and bigger names, it feels like, every year.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: I'm just like, oh, I haven't even seen this person.
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: Much like Julie. I haven't even seen this person in
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: this part of the country.
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: Shannon Daugherty.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Shannon Daugherty. I mean, Charisma Carpenter, for God's sakes. Come
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: on now. So these were cool people. And we got
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: to see them.
- 1:20:55Speaker 6: Barbara Eden.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Barbara Eaton. I was just like.
- 1:20:58Speaker 6: Priscilla Presley.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: That one is. Like, I didn't... Well, I think we
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: discussed maybe why she's doing it now. But I was like,
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: in general, I was like, I didn't know if I'd
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: ever see Priscilla Presley. Which we still didn't. Well, we
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: didn't see her. But just in general, doing conventions, you know?
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: It's just like, at one point in time, I would
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: have thought, nah, that won't happen. But, you know, it's
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: a different world these days. And she's definitely living in
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: a different place. So, you do what you gotta do,
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: you know? But, yep. I think it was a pretty...
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: awesome day. So I'm glad we got to be part
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: of it. So thank you once again to them. Go
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: get your tickets now and start making your plans for
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: next year.
- 1:21:33Speaker 7: Alright.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: Anything else to pass along?
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: Nadine's eye patch was amazing. And I wasn't trying to
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: be mocking. It was an amazing costume.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: There you go. You were in here first.
- 1:21:46Speaker 6: Wherever you are, Comic-Con Nadine, you're amazing. You're beautiful.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: And Keep working those drapes.
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: Hell yeah. Get them drapes with the little cotton. They'll
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: be silent. Now I want to watch Twin Peaks.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: As you should.
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: Right now.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening. Bye.

- 1:24:29Speaker 2: like I'm trapped in a hole.
- 1:24:30Speaker 6: But I keep quiet.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: So the ones around me don't know. That the mountain
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: feels so steep. And they say that I'm here to
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: help them carry the load. And the outside rains, they
