- 0:03Speaker 2: cav Show.
- 0:07Speaker 3: It's the Bootleg Cabs Show. Uh, and we are very
- 0:11Speaker 3: excited for our guests. How's it going to Nash? Shout
- 0:17Speaker 3: out to your shorts because they are very sorts are back.
- 0:20Speaker 3: You know, those shorts remind me of something that like,
- 0:23Speaker 3: I have a cousin who's a jugglo. Do you know
- 0:25Speaker 3: what a juggalo is? An insane clown posse fan. Oh okay,
- 0:29Speaker 3: looks like some like real.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Nice like yeah, my grandma would comment like, you paid
- 0:33Speaker 2: all that money for them to look like.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Well, they look like someone beat their wife in them
- 0:36Speaker 3: and then.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Donated and dragged me across the ground.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I know, I just did you know something like looking
- 0:44Speaker 3: don't look at and they look like someone just changed
- 0:46Speaker 3: the oil in that. Wow, we're starting off like this.
- 0:49Speaker 3: But anyway, good to see you you. It has been
- 0:51Speaker 3: a decade I think since I've seen it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: It's kind of crazy.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Yeah, by the way, we're aging ourselves here.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, right, it's been like ten months.
- 0:57Speaker 3: There's like this, uh photo I that's like kind of
- 1:00Speaker 3: like a super legendary LA photo. Now that I look
- 1:03Speaker 3: back at it. It's we were all in Boston. It
- 1:06Speaker 3: was me, you yg Tie. I remember that photo kidding
- 1:12Speaker 3: Ill Will Dre Sinatra was in it and I was like, damn,
- 1:15Speaker 3: what an era?
- 1:16Speaker 1: What an ara? Good time?
- 1:17Speaker 3: For sure, You've had so much longevity in the game,
- 1:21Speaker 3: and you know, you've been through so many different eras
- 1:24Speaker 3: of your career, whether it's going independent obviously you just
- 1:26Speaker 3: got nominated for Grammy recently a couple of years ago.
- 1:30Speaker 3: What has been that like, like for you, what do
- 1:32Speaker 3: you think has been your key to staying relevant and
- 1:35Speaker 3: pushing through and you know, kind of just just all
- 1:39Speaker 3: these eras.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I mean, I think a couple of things.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I think one is being adaptable, knowing that you know,
- 1:44Speaker 2: the world, the universe, the music industry changes a lot,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and being able to adapt with that. And then the
- 1:49Speaker 2: second thing I think is just not stopping like I
- 1:51Speaker 2: just never stopped, Like I just continue to put music out,
- 1:54Speaker 2: I continue to put myself out there, continue to put
- 1:56Speaker 2: out videos, art, continue to tour like eventually it's going
- 1:59Speaker 2: to connect with people.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You know, you just got to keep going.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And you've been building like your your your world, like
- 2:04Speaker 3: you know, you got some crazy fans.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they have got some crazy fans.
- 2:07Speaker 2: They're they're really really dedicated, they're die hard. They a
- 2:11Speaker 2: lot of them have been there since day one, so
- 2:12Speaker 2: it's really great.
- 2:13Speaker 3: How dope was it to get nominated for the R
- 2:16Speaker 3: and B Album of the Year.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I mean I didn't get nominated, wasn't it?
- 2:20Speaker 3: You didn't?
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean I was.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Nominated in with Kate Trenada Okay, okay, okay, which I
- 2:26Speaker 2: believe was Dance Records.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Was it like two years ago?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was like rhythm contemporary some shit,
- 2:33Speaker 3: like you know, one.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Of those crazy like genres that they make up for
- 2:35Speaker 2: the grim.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yo. For you when you think back to like, uh,
- 2:39Speaker 3: you were one of the OG Drake Stimulus package artists
- 2:44Speaker 3: as you.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Would call it, that's kind of true.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Right because if you think to twu on that was
- 2:48Speaker 2: the first remix like Quick twenty fourteen.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously the OG had school Boy Q on it,
- 2:53Speaker 3: and then the remix it was ode O'Brien who was
- 2:56Speaker 3: yeh who was like Drake's homie who was just kind
- 2:59Speaker 3: of rapping, and then Drake got on the remix, and
- 3:01Speaker 3: it kind of I feel like, obviously the record is
- 3:03Speaker 3: already big, but it kind of took it to like
- 3:04Speaker 3: another left.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely gassed it up, which was very cool
- 3:09Speaker 2: in retrospect.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Was the stimulus package of real thing back then?
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean yeah, it boot Like I said, it boosted
- 3:15Speaker 1: the song. It gave it like a whole new life.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I mean that's probably one of the best features I
- 3:19Speaker 2: ever had that I didn't have to pay for, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 2: Like I mean I found out about it on.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Twitter because it was like on was it on SoundCloud?
- 3:24Speaker 4: First?
- 3:25Speaker 1: I just found out he dropped it.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, like it was in that era like where people
- 3:28Speaker 2: would just make it's definitely not legal, but like you
- 3:31Speaker 2: know nowadays, but it was really cool for sure.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I was happy about it, to say the least.
- 3:37Speaker 4: So you you direct your own music videos? What do
- 3:40Speaker 4: you like more right now? Currently? I know you're doing
- 3:42Speaker 4: your music thing. Do you have an aspirations just keep creating?
- 3:45Speaker 4: Because I know you've been behind the camera and I
- 3:47Speaker 4: think you directed Boston music video. Well yeah, yeah, So
- 3:50Speaker 4: do you have more aspirations to do stuff like that?
- 3:52Speaker 1: I would love to.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I feel like directing things and just like having a
- 3:55Speaker 2: creative vision and eye something I'm always gonna have and
- 3:58Speaker 2: want to do. So whether it's be for myself or
- 4:01Speaker 2: someone else in the future, that'd be great. But I'm
- 4:03Speaker 2: really enjoying coming up with ideas and stuff for myself
- 4:05Speaker 2: right now.
- 4:05Speaker 4: About like a movie, I do you have any movie? I?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Oh, I got so many ideas, the crazy ones you got,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I can't tell you. My idea is that people are
- 4:11Speaker 2: gonna steal my ideas.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I was trying to steal it, to be honest.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Well, me and James are gonna start trying to produce
- 4:15Speaker 3: some toob movies.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Our first idea is, do you remember the movie The Ring? Yes?
- 4:21Speaker 3: So I have this idea where it's like The Ring,
- 4:26Speaker 3: but only fans, right, Okay, so like like you subscribe
- 4:30Speaker 3: to this like mysterious only fans, check on on on
- 4:33Speaker 3: only fans, and then she knows. She comes to the
- 4:35Speaker 3: screen while you're you got seven days and then and
- 4:39Speaker 3: then you got seven day and then there's like there's
- 4:41Speaker 3: like this epidemic of men who are caught with their
- 4:43Speaker 3: pants down in front of their computers dead right, And
- 4:45Speaker 3: it's because this girl comes through the screen. And I
- 4:48Speaker 3: just feel like it'd be a toob class.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I think that would off.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I don't think that I think it's better than you think.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It's better than I think it's too.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Amazon Prime.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Well, we're shooting in our iPhones, so it's going on
- 4:57Speaker 3: to be it don't matter.
- 4:58Speaker 4: We go we getting money from me. Would you watch
- 5:00Speaker 4: that movie?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Uh?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you know it sounds. I love horror. I'm a
- 5:05Speaker 1: big fan of horror.
- 5:05Speaker 3: What's your favorite horror movie of all time? For give me?
- 5:07Speaker 1: Like Shining?
- 5:08Speaker 2: I love the Shining. I love Midsummer that's like one
- 5:12Speaker 2: of my newer I good twenty four Okay, good one.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I like a lot of the twenty four, Like I.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Love Hereditary, Right that a twenty fourth fire the other
- 5:23Speaker 3: fire cut Gems that's an a twenty four movie.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Okay, okay, I like that.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Do you what about it follows? Did you watch your follows? That?
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's pretty crazy?
- 5:31Speaker 4: Was there one that messed you up as a kid?
- 5:32Speaker 4: A scary movie?
- 5:33Speaker 2: The one that messed me up, though most was Paranormal
- 5:36Speaker 2: Activity when it first came out and I saw it
- 5:38Speaker 2: in the theater and I had to sleep in my
- 5:40Speaker 2: parents room that night, and I was like, I was
- 5:42Speaker 2: like sixteen years old.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I had to sleep in my parents.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Been sixteen in bed with the pair scared am I was.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I was scared. It only happened to me once.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That happened to me When I first played Resident Evil
- 5:54Speaker 3: as a kid.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Resident Evil.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I was playing it on the PlayStation one. Okay, I
- 5:58Speaker 3: was alone in my room in the middle of the
- 5:59Speaker 3: night playing the zombie game. Shipped my pants and I
- 6:02Speaker 3: literally went and slept on the floor of my parents room.
- 6:04Speaker 4: For me, it was the conjuring, the conjure. Till this day,
- 6:07Speaker 4: I can't It was the moment when the demons on
- 6:10Speaker 4: top of the damn closet. In the commercials, they just
- 6:14Speaker 4: show it. My first time seeing it, I was every
- 6:16Speaker 4: black stereotype. I stood up everything I had.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Have you seen Terrorizer, terrifying, Terrified with the clown dude?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw Terrified.
- 6:28Speaker 4: You could watch this.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I saw Terrified two and I hear there's a Terrifire three.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I sound. I saw one and two like a month ago.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Me and my girl watched both of them back to back. Wow,
- 6:35Speaker 3: it's kind of funny, it's pretty, it's hilarious.
- 6:38Speaker 4: What about Human.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Centerpede, I have not seen Humans.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Don't watch the second one.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Don't watch any of them. The first one was good.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I feel like I already get that.
- 6:46Speaker 3: No, you don't want to watch it. It's bad. It's dark.
- 6:48Speaker 3: You're being in a dark place for like a week
- 6:49Speaker 3: after you see it. The guys you have the second one?
- 6:53Speaker 3: What what for you? You got this nasty record that's
- 6:55Speaker 3: just going absolutely bonkers, and you know TikTok. I feel
- 7:02Speaker 3: like every time I swipe it's all there.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Uh my crazy on TikTok?
- 7:06Speaker 3: Would you say that that was kind of like the
- 7:07Speaker 3: the like where it blew up first?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Was I feel like I saw it first like getting
- 7:12Speaker 2: memefied a lot on Twitter, and then it was TikTok,
- 7:15Speaker 2: Like I feel like the original video of like remember
- 7:18Speaker 2: there was this video of like this white boy like
- 7:20Speaker 2: whine in his hips, and like that was like one
- 7:21Speaker 2: that really popped off. I saw that on Twitter before
- 7:24Speaker 2: I even saw it on well X whatever, Right, some
- 7:33Speaker 2: things can never never be changed.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So Twitter is where you kind of first noticed it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and then I also noticed it on It's
- 7:39Speaker 2: kind of went viral on all the platforms, but TikTok
- 7:42Speaker 2: was where like had a hold on the community.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Like you're like, uh, do your parents hear like nasty
- 7:48Speaker 3: and be like it's a good song, but no.
- 7:52Speaker 1: My parents are supportive of everything. I do love it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: They're like, whoa, let's got my grandma like nasty showing.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Up the chart. Have they ever had like watched your
- 7:59Speaker 3: mind looking at your dad and be like, is somebody
- 8:02Speaker 3: gonna match my freak? No?
- 8:05Speaker 4: Yeah, cause a lot of arguments at my household, really
- 8:08Speaker 4: because my wife will have finished having sex and whatnot.
- 8:10Speaker 4: She whispered, my ear, you didn't match my freaking.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Little period, I feel, I mean, but she was keeping it?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Would you rather?
- 8:17Speaker 4: I mean, let's honestly break this down. Who should match?
- 8:20Speaker 4: Should you mash the freak from the less freakier person
- 8:23Speaker 4: of the more.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Freaking person freak person?
- 8:25Speaker 4: So you're gonna tell the person that's not freaky to do, Hey,
- 8:27Speaker 4: I need you to swing on top of the damn chandelier.
- 8:29Speaker 4: That's what you're gonna say.
- 8:31Speaker 2: As as the nasty girl herself, I'm gonna say, yes, okay,
- 8:34Speaker 2: have you ever had someone exceed your freak and you
- 8:36Speaker 2: were just like no, no, no, no, no, that's.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yes, we can't do that. As a matter of fact,
- 8:42Speaker 3: get out of my house looking and uh, there's a
- 8:45Speaker 3: restraining order coming your way because you're a sick fuck.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yet obviously you got the remix with Tiger. You know
- 8:53Speaker 3: a lot of people are saying Tiger was like telling
- 8:54Speaker 3: everybody that this song was a hit before everybody.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Like Tiger knows his hits. I will say that you
- 8:59Speaker 1: know the.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Box for sure, and he knows the Nasty records. He's
- 9:03Speaker 3: you know, he's the ratchet god. You know what I'm saying, He's.
- 9:05Speaker 1: The original make it nasty.
- 9:07Speaker 3: For you, Like just the perseverance of like because I mean,
- 9:10Speaker 3: you've had plenty of moments and like, like, like you said,
- 9:13Speaker 3: you've been building this huge following and putting in work,
- 9:16Speaker 3: but this is like your first real big hit in
- 9:18Speaker 3: a long time. How good does it feel to get
- 9:21Speaker 3: that off your shoulder? So good?
- 9:23Speaker 2: It makes you feel like you're on the right track,
- 9:25Speaker 2: Like everything's going the way it should. Like all the
- 9:28Speaker 2: work that I've been putting in this last however many years.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Is all paying. It's been a long time.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very affirming.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I feel like we've grown up in the music. I
- 9:36Speaker 3: was doing Afternoons of Tampa when I first interviewed it. Yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 3: you're a OG. Yeah do you feel like an og?
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yes?
- 9:43Speaker 3: You do in a good way. Though, Do you like
- 9:45Speaker 3: give game? To the young artists, like when you you know, sure,
- 9:50Speaker 3: what would be your biggest advice to like a young
- 9:53Speaker 3: R and B artist trying to break into the music industry.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Don't let anyone put you in a box unless you
- 9:58Speaker 2: want to be in a box. But yeah, just just
- 10:00Speaker 2: keep going. Just don't stop. I feel like that's like
- 10:02Speaker 2: the biggest people just stop. You know, people get the
- 10:06Speaker 2: industry is not an easy place, so I understand, but
- 10:08Speaker 2: you just got to keep pushing.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Was ever a point where you were going to stop
- 10:12Speaker 4: and you got a piece of advice? Are you seeing
- 10:14Speaker 4: a movie a quote and just kept you going? Are
- 10:16Speaker 4: you just never had a point?
- 10:18Speaker 2: No, I've never wanted to stop. I've never I've never
- 10:21Speaker 2: got that point. I feel like I'm the type of
- 10:22Speaker 2: person that would create whether you know someone was watching
- 10:25Speaker 2: or not.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So I'm gonna just keep making you love it.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 3: What is the craziest and or inappropriate way you've seen
- 10:32Speaker 3: your song being used on the internet.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I've seen some crazy ones, but you know, I don't know.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I feel like the algorithm be reading out some of
- 10:41Speaker 2: the most inappropriate things nowadays, like TikTok doesn't really allow
- 10:45Speaker 2: too many.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean my algorithm's you know different.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I guess y, let's talk about that.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I mean, it's interesting. I don't be on TikTok though,
- 10:52Speaker 3: if I'm gonna be one hundred percent honest. Okay, that's
- 10:54Speaker 3: why I'm on Instagram and I'm on X right right X.
- 10:57Speaker 1: A lot more than why, well lot more.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Ye.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I had to cleanse my accounts on.
- 11:04Speaker 1: X because I had to clear your cash and.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Like, no, no, I just had to unfollow a lot
- 11:08Speaker 3: of accounts because it was just you know, there was
- 11:12Speaker 3: a point in time where on Twitter, if somebody you
- 11:15Speaker 3: were following liked something, oh yeah, you would see it,
- 11:18Speaker 3: which was weird. And then I realized I was following
- 11:21Speaker 3: a lot of people who were nasty, as you would say.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And then I couldn't open Twitter in front of my
- 11:25Speaker 3: wife because you just never knew what come up.
- 11:28Speaker 2: It's kind of happened to me, Like I feel like
- 11:29Speaker 2: I've a lot of over the years, I've followed a
- 11:31Speaker 2: lot of fans and then a lot of them have
- 11:33Speaker 2: like turned into porn pages Twitter exactly, and I'm like
- 11:37Speaker 2: where I follow as pormage and then but they're like fans, No,
- 11:40Speaker 2: we've all been through that, were were porn.
- 11:42Speaker 3: No, yeah, yeah, yes, but no, You're right. I went
- 11:47Speaker 3: through that where there was these random pages that I
- 11:50Speaker 3: don't ever remember following, and I'm like, yo, this is real.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Like sometimes people rebrand, they rebrand or they sell their page.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Either that or it is too violent on Twitter. That's
- 11:58Speaker 4: why I don't like Twitter anymore. You just see some
- 12:01Speaker 4: So yeah, Twitter is the new world Star.
- 12:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 12:03Speaker 3: We used to go to the World Start and watching
- 12:04Speaker 3: kids beat the shit out of each other, and now
- 12:05Speaker 3: it's Twitter.
- 12:05Speaker 1: That's true, that's really real.
- 12:07Speaker 3: You're right about your ep uh is on the way.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Quantum Baby?
- 12:11Speaker 4: What is it?
- 12:12Speaker 3: What is that? But like it is my album name,
- 12:16Speaker 3: I know, but what is it? What does it mean?
- 12:18Speaker 3: Like what is it? What is a quantum baby? Okay?
- 12:20Speaker 2: So I mean it kind of references like kind of
- 12:22Speaker 2: getting to the core, getting to like the most discrete
- 12:25Speaker 2: unit of measurement, like just kind of really getting down
- 12:27Speaker 2: to like a granular level and all like the weird
- 12:30Speaker 2: things like the paradoxes and stuff that kind.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Of spirit you're spiritual.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm definitely spiritual. And I also like to watch like
- 12:38Speaker 1: nerdy things on YouTube.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Like what's nerd quantum physics types, quantum physics.
- 12:43Speaker 4: You learn quantum physics on YouTube? Yes, that's what I've read.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I mean, I wouldn't say all that.
- 12:49Speaker 3: I'm not an act, not an actually.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But I do love to like watch.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You know, discussions that like no one has the answers of,
- 12:58Speaker 2: like what happens at a quantum level? Yea, which is
- 13:00Speaker 2: the most interesting part about it because there's so many debates,
- 13:03Speaker 2: like really smart people.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Have they had any master debates? Have I No? I
- 13:08Speaker 3: mean we haven't been on the show called master Debate. Okay, anyway,
- 13:11Speaker 3: it's a play on masturbation. No, so you're spiritual. Have
- 13:15Speaker 3: you ever done psilocybin mushrooms?
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yes?
- 13:17Speaker 3: And have you had any good trips bad trips? Because
- 13:20Speaker 3: we do a lot of shrooms.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Shrooms are fun.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Shroom all the time. You might be shrooming right now.
- 13:24Speaker 3: At least a micro do micro doves micro is fun.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I feel like my favorite experiences with
- 13:30Speaker 2: streams are like at concerts like I Coachella.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because you feel in music it's hard, so.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Hard, he'd be red like red, his eyes be parked
- 13:42Speaker 4: up like bro.
- 13:44Speaker 3: And the best My favorite band to listen to on
- 13:48Speaker 3: shrooms is Tame and Paula.
