- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to chasonnew Land dot com. My name
- 0:10Speaker 1: is Chasing new Land. Yes it really is a This
- 0:27Speaker 1: is Whisper Thursday. I don't know why. Don't ask me why,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but that's what this is. For some reason. Just go
- 0:45Speaker 1: out bed and I'm making a recording. I don't know why.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Don't ask me why. I'm just doing it. Please, Ye's
- 1:00Speaker 1: only Lily lists when you can save. Close your eyes.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I don't know if my voice is still a bit croaky,
- 1:16Speaker 1: it might be. I think today is Thursday, the thirtieth
- 1:26Speaker 1: of July two thousand twenty five. Listens to thirty first
- 1:46Speaker 1: one of them. It's the last day of July twenty
- 1:54Speaker 1: twenty nine. Yes, if it is, say the latest. The
- 2:09Speaker 1: latest is Uncle's Sausages has been officially moved into a
- 2:17Speaker 1: nursing home, and according to another visitor, revis is a
- 2:28Speaker 1: lovely place and the staff for great so depending upon
- 2:37Speaker 1: COVID results. When I do a COVID testinal later today,
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm going to go up and see him. That would
- 2:56Speaker 1: be weird. I still can't come head around the act
- 3:00Speaker 1: that last time I saw him, he was chatty. Okay,
- 3:06Speaker 1: he was right, he wasn't his normal chatty self. He
- 3:11Speaker 1: hasn't been like that for a while. But he was
- 3:15Speaker 1: still talking and he was still identergy and he's you know,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and now he's nothing. He's just asleep. So I've not
- 3:31Speaker 1: seen that version of him other when I did. I
- 3:41Speaker 1: did see him asleep, but that was weird because he's
- 3:49Speaker 1: he's the biggest chatterbox you'll ever meet. It's very strange
- 3:56Speaker 1: to see someone that vocal that quiet, very unusual. Indeed,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I had some strange dreams. I said, this boxing gathering
- 4:31Speaker 1: and it was full of boxes and me. I don't
- 4:38Speaker 1: even know why I was there, but it was very
- 4:46Speaker 1: very alpha male behavior. So I was kind of out
- 4:56Speaker 1: of place, as it were, because I don't think I've
- 5:02Speaker 1: had any testosterone in my body. For that sounds wrong,
- 5:06Speaker 1: isn't it. I mean, I don't. I don't think I've
- 5:09Speaker 1: got any, but I don't think there is any disosterone
- 5:13Speaker 1: in me. I think they used to be when I
- 5:21Speaker 1: was younger. But but technically, if I'm going bold and
- 5:31Speaker 1: if I if my ears or receive, then this isn't
- 5:34Speaker 1: the signed that I'm like a really ferile I don't know.
- 5:49Speaker 2: In my case, no, no, no, Yesterday I spent a
- 6:08Speaker 2: few hours.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Died in through our good sausages flat, putting stuff into bags,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and the council of now taking hold of the flat,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and I'm trying to find any of his personal items
- 6:30Speaker 1: he had, like pictures and things like that, photographs, anything
- 6:36Speaker 1: that might mean something to him, and just you know,
- 6:46Speaker 1: finding that stuff before the council come in and just
- 6:51Speaker 1: destroy everything, which is what they're going to do. But
- 6:57Speaker 1: why I've done in the process is I've made the
- 7:03Speaker 1: councilor's job really easy cause at least probably sixty percent
- 7:21Speaker 1: of these belongings are now all backed up, all stuff
- 7:27Speaker 1: they cann't chuck that they cann't chuck out or backed up.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So if I chucked out, I put stuff on, you know,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and outside. And I've also filled his kitchen with stuff
- 7:48Speaker 1: it I think, I think yesterday because his other next
- 7:58Speaker 1: a kin asks me to find a couple of personal
- 8:03Speaker 1: letters with some information on that she needed. So I
- 8:08Speaker 1: did that and I took a photography, well, I took
- 8:12Speaker 1: a photograph and I sent it to her. So once
- 8:15Speaker 1: I was in there, I thought, maybe I'll just get
- 8:19Speaker 1: on with this and get a bit more done.
- 8:25Speaker 3: And I don't know, I think.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I think I was starting to enjoy doing it. For
- 8:43Speaker 1: some reason, perhaps it was the focus because I need
- 8:56Speaker 1: to idea of my own home. It's not like that,
- 9:00Speaker 1: but it's still it's again over crowded in it. I
- 9:05Speaker 1: need to just stop a little tidy up. I'm definitely
- 9:17Speaker 1: moving towards the idea of minimimalism. Minimalist pretty much owning,
- 9:31Speaker 1: no belongings apart from maybe just a TV on the wall.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I said, it's a close as well. So I got
- 9:51Speaker 1: these books. What I don't have much belonging. It's really
- 10:02Speaker 1: Oh yes, it's a funny thing. I've got the alert
- 10:09Speaker 1: from people which is a personal Independence payment benefits. So
- 10:16Speaker 1: they reviewing me.
- 10:18Speaker 4: So I want to go through that now, Yeah, which
- 10:24Speaker 4: should be uh might mean wow, We'll see what it means.
- 10:40Speaker 1: So they would saying, is that when one told it flushes,
- 10:45Speaker 1: a number one needs flushing. I don't know what that means. See.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Uh, Finny jumped up when I woke up this morning,
- 11:09Speaker 5: well about twenty minutes ago, jumped up.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I thought he must be hungry. It so it cover
- 11:17Speaker 1: some food. No, not interested in food. He's just lying
- 11:22Speaker 1: next to me a sleep or listening. Probably he he's listening.
- 11:29Speaker 1: What if he's he is, he spoked to ry up.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Are you listening, Finny, Yes, he's listening. I had someone
- 11:42Speaker 6: knock on my door at nine o'clock last night, and
- 11:47Speaker 6: I went to bed about eight. I had an early night.
- 11:50Speaker 6: I just just had to someone knocked on my door
- 11:56Speaker 6: with nine o'clock, that's so I Then he started barking,
- 12:03Speaker 6: so I didn't just press the doorbell, which I wouldn't
- 12:06Speaker 6: have heard. They had to knock loudly as well. So
- 12:16Speaker 6: I come out of my bedroom on a shower, and.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And it was one of my neighbors, not not local neighbors,
- 12:24Speaker 1: but someone lives around the corner. I saild you want,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I said I'm in bed. As far as something said
- 12:33Speaker 1: that's enough. If I said I'm in bed, then they
- 12:36Speaker 1: just said, okay, I might buy. I can question why
- 12:43Speaker 1: you're in bed once you can't do you why I'm
- 12:47Speaker 1: in bed. I'm an adult. I've chosen to go to bed.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I do not answer to you. I'm in bed. Are
- 13:00Speaker 1: you gonna answer the door? You can open the door.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I've got COVID. Oh you still got that of you?
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because I just told you, I got it. Why I
- 13:16Speaker 1: said I'm going back to bed, now.
- 13:20Speaker 7: And then.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Kenny would not leave the front door.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Because he wanted to.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Go and say he lo to the person who was
- 13:31Speaker 1: out on the other side. I said, Benny, come on,
- 13:34Speaker 1: come on, and he ignored me. He literally super glued
- 13:40Speaker 1: his feet to the floor in the front door. So
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm like raising my voice in here, come on, Vinny,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and the neighbors starts talking to me. What's that because
- 13:53Speaker 1: she must hear me say come on, no from talking
- 13:58Speaker 1: to the door. This is some weird doing bothering me.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm a little bit crumpy when I'm in bed if
- 14:17Speaker 1: I'm disturbed, which is most of the time, to be fair,
- 14:22Speaker 1: But she usually just because Vinny hears something and starts barking.
- 14:30Speaker 1: For example, there's this cat and someone thought it would
- 14:35Speaker 1: be a really good idea. The owner of the cat
- 14:39Speaker 1: owner may, yeah, I'm pretty sure they thought it'd be
- 14:42Speaker 1: really clever, really funny, and really, I don't know, super
- 14:50Speaker 1: intelligent to buy a little bell. So it's it's a
- 14:55Speaker 1: little little bell on it on their collar on its
- 15:00Speaker 1: cat's call it. It's very faint. I can hardly hear it.
- 15:05Speaker 1: But then he goes at nutty every time that cat
- 15:09Speaker 1: walks in the garden like you bass through you are.
- 15:25Speaker 1: They don't think. They don't think, oh, look a lovely
- 15:31Speaker 1: little bell. I mean maybe if you right close to
- 15:36Speaker 1: it you can hear it quite loudly. I don't know.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But this one here is a mile away and he
- 15:45Speaker 1: goes bananas. Don't really a lot I can do it
- 15:59Speaker 1: about it, except moan not really been concentrating on anything lately,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know, just skipping through TV.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Not necessarily.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, my focus has been a little bit, a little
- 16:42Speaker 1: bit wobbly, my mental focus. I'll be honest. This part
- 17:01Speaker 1: of me, there's a large part of me that just
- 17:08Speaker 1: does not want to go and visit Uncle Sausages because
- 17:14Speaker 1: I don't want to see him like that. But I
- 17:26Speaker 1: also know that I need to. It's important to do it,
- 17:39Speaker 1: and I do wanna visit, and I do want to
- 17:41Speaker 1: see him, and I don't know, hold his hand. Maybe
- 17:47Speaker 1: you know the fairy I've read in theory that hearing
- 17:54Speaker 1: is the last thing that goes so with though he's
- 17:59Speaker 1: got his eyes go stickings to hear me. But just
- 18:24Speaker 1: thinking if the roles were reversed and I was there
- 18:29Speaker 1: with my eyes closed and able to really do anything,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and he was my visitor, and he was talking non
- 18:38Speaker 1: stop about sport. I'd be wishing for my hearing to stop. Wow,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I'd be shouting internally, shot trying to sleep. I think
- 19:06Speaker 1: I just had a squirrel sneeze. How strange. By the way,
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'm not going to be doing this well. I've got
- 19:19Speaker 1: no plan of doing these whisper daily things.
- 19:26Speaker 8: I don't even know what I'm doing one today.
- 19:35Speaker 1: All I know is I.
- 19:37Speaker 9: Am I am, maya, may Am.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's very peaceful. It is early in the morning, it's
- 19:56Speaker 1: about twenty to four, but then I went to be
- 20:00Speaker 1: at eight, so it's not really you know that early.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I spent most of the day in bed, as I
- 20:10Speaker 1: have done it for the last week, a lot of
- 20:17Speaker 1: time asleep. But last night I was just agitated. I
- 20:27Speaker 1: didn't want to be in bed. But what did I
- 20:30Speaker 1: want to do? I don't know. I've only been making
- 20:49Speaker 1: one recording the last three times I've made not the
- 20:53Speaker 1: last two times. Rather i've made him who recorded. I've
- 20:57Speaker 1: just done one version is without music, and then that's
- 21:11Speaker 1: a temporary thing. It's just because I can't. I don't know.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It might be laziness, lack of motivation, it could be anything.
- 21:37Speaker 1: But once the recording's done, but much rather someone else
- 21:42Speaker 1: do everything else, rather than me having to edit it.
- 21:53Speaker 10: And then do different versions and make it an image
- 21:59Speaker 10: and blah blah blah, and over to an a system.
- 22:10Speaker 1: That would be nice. I could hand over to an
- 22:19Speaker 1: AIRE system, but then there'd be no gaps in speaking.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It would just be parallel, which means we will no
- 22:39Speaker 1: longer sound a human, or I will no longer sound
- 22:44Speaker 1: a human. And that's our lot of videos and podcasts
- 22:55Speaker 1: and stuff i'd done. They edited automatically, so they don't
- 23:01Speaker 1: personally really doesn't have to do much at all. But
- 23:10Speaker 1: I just think that's the difference between what I do
- 23:15Speaker 1: and what others do is okay, I don't I lost
- 23:35Speaker 1: my train of thought that I don't know what for
- 23:38Speaker 1: the difference is what other people do is good and
- 23:47Speaker 1: more popular. What I do is I don't know. I
- 23:53Speaker 1: don't even know what I do anymore. These recordings used
- 24:02Speaker 1: to be about hypnosis and helping meet people with chronic
- 24:09Speaker 1: pain or with anxiety or sleeping or things like that.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I'm not quite sure what's happened to them. It just
- 24:25Speaker 1: ended up being like a.
- 24:31Speaker 7: An audio diary.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I think that this last six weeks I don't think.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I know. The last six weeks I've had quite a
- 25:01Speaker 1: profound effect on me. That's really got me thinking, got
- 25:18Speaker 1: me thinking about my future. It's got me thinking about
- 25:30Speaker 1: my present as well. How am I living my life?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Do I want to live my life this way? Am
- 25:43Speaker 1: I wasting my time? Which is just such a wrong
- 25:51Speaker 1: thing to do, I believe, just to waste wasting my ear?
- 26:04Speaker 1: What am I not doing that I could do? What
- 26:09Speaker 1: am I doing that I shouldn't be doing? What am
- 26:21Speaker 1: I doing that's worthwhile? What am I doing that's meaningful?
- 26:36Speaker 1: What am I doing now that is going to affect
- 26:39Speaker 1: my future life both positively and negatively? How long do
- 26:58Speaker 1: I have? And I don't mean that negatively and just realistically,
- 27:14Speaker 1: And what do wanta? What do I want to do
- 27:16Speaker 1: at that time? So yeah, it just cat me thinking
- 27:54Speaker 1: what changes are required that need to move forward in
- 28:01Speaker 1: a way. That doesn't mean that I'm just repeat in
- 28:09Speaker 1: my behavior. I don't know. I still wanna make a difference,
- 29:06Speaker 1: make a change. I still want to help with people,
- 29:23Speaker 1: But I started to wonder what about myself? The only
- 29:55Speaker 1: one I still be living this lifestyle where I have
- 30:03Speaker 1: to save up if I want to get myself, some
- 30:08Speaker 1: new classes I have to save up if I want
- 30:11Speaker 1: to go to the dentist, or if I want to
- 30:16Speaker 1: take Vienny to the fair. Nothing there in an emergency,
- 30:31Speaker 1: you know. It's just is that what I want more of?
- 30:43Speaker 1: Don't want to still be looking at these walls in
- 30:48Speaker 1: ten years time. I don't know. Questions, questions, question. This
- 32:36Speaker 1: is very meditative me sitting me with my eyes closed,
- 32:47Speaker 1: focusing on the silence, the temperature of the.
- 32:58Speaker 8: Room, com This is certain sense of clarity.
- 34:47Speaker 11: I have when I'm just gone out of bed, if
- 34:56Speaker 11: I'm not tired, which I'm not.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I'm not saying that I couldn't go back to sleep,
- 35:09Speaker 1: because I could quite easily, but I'm not tired in
- 35:20Speaker 1: a way that I would be like And he had
- 35:25Speaker 1: a couple of hours sleep, and I was trying to
- 35:28Speaker 1: force myself to be awake for whatever reason, and I
- 35:35Speaker 1: kept drifting off mid sentence. Yeah, I can't make myself
- 36:52Speaker 1: some ready break for breakfast, So I'm gonna go. Thank
- 37:37Speaker 1: you for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself, because
- 37:45Speaker 1: you do deserve to be happy. Be gentle with yourself.
- 37:54Speaker 1: You deserve to feel safe. F
