- 0:01The Lord's angels protect true believers.
- 0:07The Lord's angels' protection of true believers.
- 0:12See, I used to always hear,"We got protection, my angel's protecting me," but who is he protecting?
- 0:23See, true believers, people don't wanna go to truth, but let's get into truth now.
- 0:29In Psalms 91, it speaks about,"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
- 0:43I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
- 0:52Surely He shall deliver thee from the snares of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
- 1:00He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and thy buckler.
- 1:11Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noontide.
- 1:28A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right side; but it shall not come nigh thee.
- 1:37Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
- 1:44Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my fortress, my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
- 2:02For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I'm gonna say that one again now'cause that's our key verse now.
- 2:13Psalms 91:11, we talking about the Lord's angels' protection of true believers.
- 2:19"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." That's not a joke, that's a promise by God They shall bear thee up in thy hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
- 2:38Thou shalt tread upon lions and adders and young lions and dragons shall thou trample under feet.
- 2:46Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him.
- 2:53I will set him on high because he has known my name.
- 2:59He shall call upon me and I will answer him.
- 3:03I will be with him in trouble.
- 3:06I will deliver him and honor him.
- 3:09With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." I hear people all the time talking about my angels, and as evil as they can be, you might have angels, but ain't from God.
- 3:24We talking about the Lord's angel protection of true believers.
- 3:29Now, I can testify to this because I've watched the angel protect me from my stupid ways.
- 3:37Sometime I even fall asleep and the angel make sure the car stay in the road and doesn't have an accident.
- 3:43What am I telling you?
- 3:45The Lord is your protection of true believers.
- 3:49Psalm 9:1 bring it home.
- 3:52But now we're gonna deal with a story because now that we got you hot and warmed up now, see, we talking about the benefits of being a child of God now.
- 4:03It shows us in the story, and we're really gonna deal with Acts chapter 12, and we're dealing with Peter.
- 4:11But before we can get a real understanding what Peter had to go through,'cause you don't know how much you need God until you're at your last minute, your last hours, your last day.
- 4:26And I'm gonna give you a revelation so you can understand get a better understanding of the word.
- 4:32So we're dealing with a story of a king.
- 4:38We're talking about King Herod now In verse one of Acts chapter 12, we talk about now.
- 4:47Oh, now about the time Herod the king stretched forth his hand to vex certain of the church.
- 4:57And he killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.
- 5:02Don't miss that now.
- 5:05See, as you go back to the story and you remember when they was about to take Jesus, John had a sword and Peter had a sword, and Peter used his and scraped off the servant's ear.
- 5:18But now the sword is reappearing, but Herod the king is the one with the sword.
- 5:25If you remember John the Baptist, he was beheaded with a sword.
- 5:30Oh, come on, stay with me now.
- 5:31See, this, when you hear sword, we talk about the word is the sword, but we can go even deeper now with some understanding.
- 5:39We talking about the Lord is the protection of true believers.
- 5:44Now, if you wanna know, test it in this thing called life.
- 5:50And he killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.
- 5:54And because he saw it pleased the Jews.
- 5:57Don't miss that.
- 5:59There are a lot of people you're gonna have in your life that when you go through something, they're gonna laugh and have fun with your calamity.
- 6:09There are people that walk along with you, but you trip and fall, and they're gonna laugh at you.
- 6:16And you s- you say to yourself,"Do you really care about me?" Do you really love me the way you say you do, but yet you laugh at my distress?
- 6:30Let me go on and tell the story.
- 6:31Then see,'cause the truth is the word now.
- 6:34But we go on.
- 6:36He said the Jews, they was pleased to see this king kill another man.
- 6:44But he proceeded further to take Peter also.
- 6:48Then were the days of unleavened bread.
- 6:50Now I'm gonna deal with something that I want you to start understanding.
- 6:56And I was explaining this morning.
- 6:58Everything in the Word of God is inspired by God But because of translation, some words are not translated correctly, but if you go back to the original manuscript, it is inspired by God, but it doesn't change the message.
- 7:22I want y'all to hear me now.
- 7:24The word of God is true, the message is true, but some words are different.
- 7:29Let me go on.
- 7:29You gonna get it, you gonna get it in a minute.
- 7:31I'm gonna break it down to you.
- 7:32But we're going on.
- 7:33When you hear unleavened bread, you always think of Passover.
- 7:36Why?
- 7:37Because that's when it comes after, Passover.
- 7:40Verse four,"And when he had ap- apprehended him, and put him in prison," we talking about Peter now, the King Herod put in prison,"and delivered him to four quartarians of soldiers, to keep him in attending after Easter, to bring him forth to the people." That word Easter, put that back to the original manuscript, Passover.
- 8:05There was no Easter then.
- 8:08You gotta realize that the King James Version was written in 1611.
- 8:14When this is translated, the people did not...
- 8:17They're not Jews.
- 8:19They don't understand the full context of the word, so they transferred the word Easter where it should have been Passover.
- 8:28Why is that a big deal?
- 8:30Because if you don't understand that, you're gonna miss the whole understanding of manmade holiday Easter.
- 8:36Why you think Easter is one of the biggest holiday for the church?
- 8:40God didn't do it, God.
- 8:41It's supposed to be the Passover.
- 8:43Why?
- 8:43Because that's the day Jesus died.
- 8:45Let me go on.
- 8:46Y'all ain't ready for truth.
- 8:47I'm gonna give it to you anyway.
- 8:48Now, we understand,'cause in verse six,"Peter therefore was kept in prison, but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." Now, when you see that quartarian soldiers, that means there are four soldiers on watch.
- 9:08They change watch every three hours.
- 9:12I will get you some history now, so you really gonna understand what Herod was doing.
- 9:17He done killed James, the disciple of Jesus, and the Jews loved it.
- 9:23Now, he's planning to kill Peter,'cause you don't wanna waste a good celebration on one or two deaths.
- 9:30You wanna wait for another day to get another good celebration.
- 9:34And when they kill Peter, this is gonna be the celebration after celebration, but he can't do it because Passover is now.
- 9:42The Jews are not gonna accept you killing nobody.
- 9:47Oh, come on now.
- 9:47We talking real now.
- 9:48We talking real stuff.
- 9:50Even they have a conscious of understanding the Passover.
- 9:55But let me go back to these guards so you really can get a, a deeper understanding of what they're really having.
- 10:01He's not gonna let Peter go.
- 10:04So he has two guards that's on both side of Peter.
- 10:09Peter is undressed.
- 10:11His shoes, his clothes, most of his clothes is off, and they chain Peter to them.
- 10:17Two of the guards are chained on both sides of Peter.
- 10:21The other two guards are outside protecting Now, I don't want you to miss the story now because this is very powerful to realize you got two guards that's on...
- 10:34You got a guard on each side of you, and they're chained to you, and you got two more guards that's at the door.
- 10:41Probably one is in the inside and the other one on the other side of that gate.
- 10:45Now, you're saying to yourself,"This is heavy stuff." You gonna make sure he's not getting away.
- 10:52Why?
- 10:53Because I gotta use Peter death to be a celebration.
- 10:58Okay, let me go on now.
- 10:59Let me go on now.
- 11:00See, this is what happens to some religious peop- people.
- 11:04They get excited when somebody else dies.
- 11:07But in verse six,"And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers," see that?
- 11:19"Bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
- 11:24And, behold, the angel of the Lord came unto him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side." Now, I want you to remember now, this angel came through the gate, came probably through the wall, but yet touched Peter.
- 11:42"Get up, Peter." I...
- 11:45now, don't miss the fact now.
- 11:48Could you be that cool knowing you gonna die tomorrow?
- 11:52Sleeping.
- 11:54"Hey Peter, can you...""Sleep on." That's somebody that believed But here we go on to the story now.
- 12:04"He smote Peter on the side and riseth him up, saying, Arise up quickly.
- 12:10And his chains fell off from his hands." Wow.
- 12:15The angel is doing things where we can't understand.
- 12:21He ain't got no keys, but yet the chains fall.
- 12:24See, when you get ahold of Jesus, and I'm talking not play hold, I'm talking about real hold.
- 12:29I don't care if you got a mental issue, you got a physical issue, if you get ahold of Jesus, your problem falls off just like the chains.
- 12:37But watch what happens in verse eight.
- 12:39"And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals." Put shoes on, Peter, we gotta go somewhere.
- 12:49"And so he did.
- 12:50And he said unto him, Cast thy garment about thee and follow me." Hold it, don't miss that now.
- 12:56He said,"Peter, put your clothes on.
- 12:58We got somewhere to go.
- 13:00Put your shoes on and put your clothes on, Peter,'cause we gonna get outta here." Now, did you not realize the guards are next to Peter, the chains fall off, the door is now becoming, become open so he can have access to get out.
- 13:17What happened to the guards?
- 13:19They're there.
- 13:21They probably sleeping.
- 13:22Now you saying to yourself,"Oh, love, Pastor, how do you figure they're sleeping?
- 13:28It doesn't say it in the scripture." It doesn't.
- 13:31But if you've been studying the Word of God long enough, you will realize when the glory comes in, everybody goes to sleep because of the peace, because of the anointing, because of who He is.
- 13:46So in verse nine of chap, of Acts chapter 12,"And he went out, and followed him." Who?
- 13:54He followed the angel.
- 13:55The angel know where he's going.
- 13:58Did not the angel lead Lot out of Sodom and Gomorrah?
- 14:02"And he went out, and followed him; and went not," watch it now,"and went not that it was true which was done by the angel; but brought he, but thought he saw a vision." Sometimes what you're seeing is so miraculous, you thinking it's gotta be a dream, it's gotta be a vision.
- 14:26But I can tell you now, it's truly God.
- 14:29"When they were past the first and the second ward," now, don't miss that now.
- 14:36He's showing you he's just been at the inn, he was deep in there.
- 14:41They came unto the iron gate, that leadeth unto the city, which opened to them of his own accord.
- 14:50Boy, look at the angel now.
- 14:52The angel ain't no joke.
- 14:53The angel of the Lord.
- 14:54And they went out and passed on through one street.
- 14:59Now, remember now, Peter is seeing the angel.
- 15:02Sometime we don't see our angel, but we know they're there.
- 15:08I can feel the vibration when they're around me and something is going on.
- 15:13I can feel when I fell asleep driving the car and the angel wake me up,"Hey, get up, wake up.
- 15:20You're about to have a h- you're about to have a head-on collision.
- 15:23Straighten up.
- 15:25Drive right." But he passed through one street and therefore the angel departed from him.
- 15:30Now, watch this now.
- 15:32He's no longer in danger.
- 15:33The angel left.
- 15:35See, everybody think the angel is constantly there.
- 15:37No, the angel comes and the angel goes.
- 15:40It doesn't need to be there constantly.
- 15:43It's there to minister when you're in need.
- 15:46Man, let me go on and tell a story now.
- 15:47And when Peter was come to himself, he said,"Now, I know of a surety that the Lord has sent his angel and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod," we're talking the king now,"and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews." Now, don't miss that now.
- 16:09Sometimes people, we talking sometimes even family, we start ta-talking to your friends, they want you to fail, and they're expecting you to fail.
- 16:20But look at God.
- 16:22He said,"Oh no, not today.
- 16:24Y'all looking for a death.
- 16:25It won't be Peter, not today." But watch what happens in verse 12.
- 16:30And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John...
- 16:39Oh, now I want y'all to stay with me now'cause I, I'm about to blow your mind with the revelation now.
- 16:44Whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.
- 16:50Now, Mark, we're talking about John Mark, his mother name is Mary.
- 16:55Now, why is that important for you to know?
- 16:57Because you get to understand the significance of the name Mary.
- 17:03There was a lot of Marys when Jesus was born.
- 17:08Definitely after he was born.
- 17:10People named their child Mary.
- 17:12Now, this Mary was probably well after Jesus' mother was born because she could see Jesus and people started naming them after the person that same as...
- 17:23But I wanna go on because I just gets even deeper than that.
- 17:29And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came in Hawkins named Rhoda.
- 17:37And when she knew Peter's voice...
- 17:40Now, don't miss that now.
- 17:41See, when you are, when you're having a relationship with people, you know their voice.
- 17:46Now, she couldn't see Peter on the other side of the door, but she know his voice.
- 17:51Oh, man.
- 17:52Peter had a voice that was distinct, and she knew it was him.
- 17:58She opened not the gate though for gladness, but went in and told how Peter stood before the gate.
- 18:06Now, remember now, all these people are in the house praying for Peter, and Peter knocks on the door.
- 18:15Oh, nobody will hear me.
- 18:16See, when you are praying for God to move, and the next thing you look around, he knocking on the door.
- 18:20I'm right here.
- 18:21I'm right here.
- 18:22I'm ready to do something for you Can you imagine?
- 18:28She ain't got time to go to Peter's.
- 18:30I gotta run and tell everybody else,"Peter is here." And they said unto her, watch this now, watch Peter I don't want you to miss the fact now, Peter is knocking on the door.
- 18:45But watch what it says in verse six.
- 18:47"But Peter continued knocking.
- 18:50And when they had opened the door and saw him, they were astonished." Sometime you can pray to God, but do you really expect him to come through?
- 19:03Did they really expect Peter to make it through?
- 19:05You gotta be real with yourself.
- 19:07This was an impossible prayer.
- 19:11That God had him locked in, he's in the gate.
- 19:14Oh, remember now, there's more glass.
- 19:17He is ready to die.
- 19:20But look at God come through.
- 19:22So in verse 17 of Acts 12,"But he, beckoning unto them with his hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison.
- 19:36And he said,'Go show these things unto James, and to the brethren.' And he departed, and went into another place.
- 19:47And now as soon as it was day," remember now, it's still night now,"there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was becoming, was become of Peter." Now, I don't know if you understand this,'cause I served in the military, and most people don't know this, and it's not for them to know, but I'm gonna give you a little revelation.
- 20:11When you're talking about time of war, and you are the person that has the guard, and you don't do your job, you are to be killed Okay, let me say that again now.
- 20:23When you, when we're at war and you don't do your job, you are supposed to be killed.
- 20:30Why?
- 20:31Because people are gonna die because you didn't do your job.
- 20:36So imagine how angry this king is, and let's see what he does now.
- 20:42And when Herod the king sought for him, he found him not.
- 20:47He examined the keepers and commanded that they should be put to death.
- 20:52And he went down from Judea to Ce- to Caesarea and there aboard.
- 20:58Now, don't miss that now.
- 20:59See, everybody walked right over that.
- 21:01He killed every one of those guards that allowed Peter to get away.
- 21:05Peter be ki- to that day, Peter did not die, but all those soldiers they got killed instantly.
- 21:15Instantly, they died See, sometimes we just roll over and nobody...
- 21:19Yeah, no, somebody dies.
- 21:21When the king set a decree, somebody dies.
- 21:25We talk about the Lord angels, though, protection of true believers.
- 21:30But now as we go a little deeper into the story,'cause see, sometimes you gotta look.
- 21:37When you dig or grave, the word says,"Whatever you're doing to others is gonna be done unto you." Don't miss that now.
- 21:44Let's dig into the story now.
- 21:45We talk about the Lord's angels protect- protection of true believers.
- 21:49"And Herod," we talk about the king now,"was highly displeased with them at Tyre and Sidon.
- 21:56But they came with one accord to him.
- 21:59And having made Be- Beethatus the king chamberlain their friend desired peace." Look at that.
- 22:08"Because their country was nourished by the king's country.
- 22:13And upon a set day," don't miss that now.
- 22:16"Upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne and made an or-" now watch this,"oration unto them." He's calling them now.
- 22:28"And the people gave him shout, saying,'It is the voice of a god, not a man.'" Don't, now don't miss that now.
- 22:38Now- Don't miss this story.
- 22:45The king killed James, the disciple of Jesus.
- 22:50There was no retaliation.
- 22:52God didn't strike him down.
- 22:54See, we always sometimes want God to strike down because something happened.
- 23:00But watch God though.
- 23:04They are worshiping of this king as he's a god.
- 23:08They are shouting and giving obeisance to him.
- 23:12Now, you wanna see God mad?
- 23:14Watch this.
- 23:16"And immediately," what did I say?
- 23:19That when they started worshiping him, they say he's not a man,"And immediately," that means ain't a whole lot of time wasted now.
- 23:27They did this,"And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory, and he was eaten of worms and gave up the ghost." Don't miss that now.
- 23:40How'd it happen?
- 23:41The Lord smote him.
- 23:45Then the worms was eating him, and then he gave up the ghost.
- 23:50Ooh.
- 23:52Ooh, that's heavy.
- 23:54But that's what happens when you think you are God.
- 23:59Then the Lord said,"Oh, I gotta show you ain't but one God," and he smote him.
- 24:05Now, the angel that released Peter now kills the king.
- 24:11Man, let me go on.
- 24:11Let me go tell the story.
- 24:12Let me go tell the...
- 24:13So in verse 24,"But the word of God grew and multiplied." When God strikes people and when God starts doing things, then people wanna magnify God.
- 24:27"And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark." So as we go a little bit deeper into the story,'cause I brought you a lot of heavy meat today, because I want you to understand those people that have angels, they are not playing angels.
- 24:51They're the real deal.
- 24:52But everybody don't have them.
- 24:55I'm ha- I'm sorry to tell some of y'all some of y'all really don't, but some of us do.
- 25:03Those angels are gonna protect you because there's a mission on your life.
- 25:10They're not just protecting you because you, oh, you're just twirling round and round.
- 25:15Oh, it's a happy day over here.
- 25:17Yeah.
- 25:17No.
- 25:19There's a mission James had an angel also, but the angel didn't stop him from dying.
- 25:28Why?
- 25:29His mission was up Herod killed James, the son of Zebedee and his brother John.
- 25:37He killed him because his mission was fulfilled.
- 25:43Why?
- 25:45That he must die.
- 25:48Sometimes you gotta realize it's the plan of God and not the plan of man.
- 25:55We wanna blame God fulfilling His mission.
- 25:58What?
- 26:00When do you start telling God how to do God's business?
- 26:06When I look at the scripture, I sometimes flip through and say, all of it's written and inspired by God.
- 26:15Man has nothing to do with the word.
- 26:19He used man to tell His story, but man didn't come up with the scripture.
- 26:25Man followed what God said the scripture's gonna be Whoo.
- 26:34I was sharing with somebody the other day, we talking about he said,"I've been asking the Lord for over 30 years this question," and without even me knowing that, I answered the question.
- 26:45You will continue sinning, and yet you're gonna tell me you know the living God?
- 26:51See, when I was explaining it to him, now he asked, he'd been asking this question for over 30 years.
- 26:56He had a pastor and everything, but the Lord, the Holy Spirit gave me the answer that he was looking for over 30 years, and his question was about sinning.
- 27:06I says,"Once you already got saved, yes, you've been given justification and He will change you.
- 27:16But when you know better and you still sin, you're gonna pay." I hate to sit there and tell you, you're gonna pay for that sin.
- 27:27Now, yes, you can repent.
- 27:29Yes, He will forgive you, but you're gonna pay I don't know why people can't see this.
- 27:38It's all in the scripture, but nobody wanna believe that.
- 27:44Why?
- 27:45Because they wanna do what they wanna do when they wanna do it, and then they wanna say,"Hey, Lord, help me again." No.
- 27:52No.
- 27:54Even when David took Uriah wife Bathsheba, he was willing to die for his sins.
- 28:03The Lord told him no.
- 28:05I'm not gonna kill you, but yes, you're gonna pay." Why?
- 28:10"The sword will never leave your house.
- 28:12Your children's gonna die." because of that sin Be careful when you come in contact with the living God and don't take it serious.
- 28:27Be careful when you try to take the word and you won't study to show yourself approved.
- 28:33The word is gonna work whether you understand it or not I always give this analogy.
- 28:39I say you might not understand gravity, the equations, the mathematics, you might not understand none of that, but if you get your butt on the top of a tall building and jump, it'll work just the same.
- 28:50Whether you understand it or not, it's gonna work, and that's the way the word of God works.
- 28:55Whether you believe it or not, it's still gonna work.
- 28:59I hope you enjoy hearing the word of God.
- 29:01We're talking about the ang- the Lord angels, protection of his true believers.
- 29:07That's the word.
