- 0:16Speaker 3: This is dude. We're in Port Saint Lucy.
- 0:18Speaker 2: This guy got arrested thirteen felony charges, all kinds of drugs.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I mean, just a bad guy.
- 0:23Speaker 2: The cops sent swap teams to his house and he
- 0:25Speaker 2: was served a search warrant. He said, yes, yes, I'm
- 0:28Speaker 2: a successful dealer. I sell to all kinds of folks
- 0:32Speaker 2: all throughout.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Port Saint Lucy.
- 0:34Speaker 4: You know, I've found that Poor Saint Lucy is often
- 0:38Speaker 4: the location for these type of stories. I don't know
- 0:40Speaker 4: what's going on with Poor Saint Lucy. Just have to
- 0:43Speaker 4: be proud of what you do for a living, and
- 0:45Speaker 4: obviously this guy was.
- 0:46Speaker 3: He put some effort into his job first half of
- 0:49Speaker 3: the year.
- 0:50Speaker 4: You know what I didn't see this weekend is Saharan
- 0:53Speaker 4: dust sunsets.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I look, I think I saw one.
- 0:57Speaker 2: That picture you took I thought had a little Saharan
- 0:59Speaker 2: feel to it.
- 1:00Speaker 5: It looked like it was an AI or filtered picture
- 1:03Speaker 5: of the background. It was so pretty and that's it's neat.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Did you post that at all? No, but I will. Yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 3: I'll put it up right now. You can see. That's cool.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I missed it.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Big show with Chum Lee, John Megan and Froggy in
- 1:14Speaker 2: Country ninety nine one wq IK, Good morning and welcome in.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Let's get three things you need to know.
- 1:19Speaker 5: All right, let's talk about caddy Shack, Murray Bros. Caddyshack
- 1:23Speaker 5: and World Golf Village. It's closing, which is crazy. They've
- 1:26Speaker 5: been around for twenty five years. It's one of the
- 1:29Speaker 5: first places I saw when I moved to Jacksonville. And
- 1:33Speaker 5: so June twenty seventh is their last day before.
- 1:35Speaker 3: They closed it, which was Yes, Saturday was the last day.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so they're done done yep. Wow, Yeah, with
- 1:41Speaker 3: a shame. That's something you see when you're driving on
- 1:43Speaker 3: nine ninety five. You can't miss it. It there at the
- 1:45Speaker 3: World Golf exit. It's gonna look a lot different driving
- 1:48Speaker 3: down that way for sure.
- 1:49Speaker 5: In Fernandina, if you were up between one and three
- 1:52Speaker 5: o'clock this morning and you notice like nothing was working,
- 1:55Speaker 5: your power was out, don't freak out. It actually was
- 1:58Speaker 5: a planned power outage. I've got to make some repairs
- 2:01Speaker 5: up there, so they try to do it while most
- 2:03Speaker 5: of us are sleeping. But if I get up in
- 2:04Speaker 5: the middle of the night the lights aren't working, I'm
- 2:06Speaker 5: kind of freaking out.
- 2:07Speaker 3: What if you rely on your alarm clock.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You know that plug in alarm clock is the one
- 2:10Speaker 2: that's going to get you there, and it's blinking midnight when.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You wake up.
- 2:13Speaker 4: If Fernandina's late to work today, they have an excuse.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll sign it. Let's talk about Sweet Pets Candy.
- 2:20Speaker 5: They were voted six out of the top ten candy
- 2:23Speaker 5: stores and the USA Today judges what they fell for
- 2:27Speaker 5: was the Sea Salt caramels and the caramel chocolate apples.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Oh that sounds good. Sweet Pezza is so good.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I feel like that's a hidden gem here in Jacksonville.
- 2:36Speaker 4: If you have young kids, especially they're out of school
- 2:38Speaker 4: for the summer, take them to Sweet Peats. I used
- 2:40Speaker 4: to take my daughter there. She loved that place, such
- 2:43Speaker 4: a cool spot. I think anything with Fish Camp in
- 2:47Speaker 4: it is also a Jacksonville hidden gem.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yes, fish Camp.
- 2:53Speaker 4: I heard they're working to reopen Clark's Fish they really yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 4: which is exciting.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Somebody bought it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: There's construction happening right now a Palm Valley fish camp.
- 3:02Speaker 4: What are some other hidden gems here in Jacksonville? Call
- 3:06Speaker 4: us there could be a QIK prize pack in there
- 3:09Speaker 4: for you.
- 3:09Speaker 3: At three eighty eight thirty six ninety nine.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Be a willing participant with Country ninety nine one WQIK.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Paul on the phone, Paul, what are you seeing in traffic?
- 3:20Speaker 6: Alm was just wondering, Nina, is a bugman closed or something?
- 3:23Speaker 2: What we're seeing is one lane has closed. That's northbound
- 3:26Speaker 2: on the Country ninety nine one WQIK. Megan has that
- 3:29Speaker 2: in Music City.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Minute just a minute, and we're talking Jacksonville's hidden gems.
- 3:33Speaker 4: We just got to call Lucy, thank you. She mentioned
- 3:35Speaker 4: Chowder Ted's over there on hexher Drive. That place is great. John,
- 3:39Speaker 4: you had one too, because it doesn't have to be
- 3:41Speaker 4: a restaurant.
- 3:42Speaker 3: It could be a park, princess place preserve. It's right there.
- 3:46Speaker 2: My wife found it somewhere, you know, on the Internet,
- 3:49Speaker 2: and we went out there. It's right there, basically at
- 3:51Speaker 2: the Saint John's Flagler County Line. Just a beautiful piece
- 3:54Speaker 2: of land right there. On a lake and you can
- 3:57Speaker 2: go there and there hiking trails. They've got a little cat.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Been there and you said.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Yeah, went there this past fall. I think there's a
- 4:05Speaker 4: cabin you can rent. And they were deer everywhere. You
- 4:07Speaker 4: would like it, Megan, because they just walk up to you.
- 4:09Speaker 5: It sounds really cool. Get to be outside see pretty things.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Fifteen hundred acres of beautifulness of Florida's backyard, as I
- 4:16Speaker 2: like to call it.
- 4:17Speaker 4: So many hidden gems around town. What is your favorite?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Give us a called three eight, eight thirty six ninety
- 4:23Speaker 4: nine on your Music City Minute. Today, let's talk about
- 4:26Speaker 4: Alan Jackson. He had his final final farewell concert in Nashville.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Everyone who was.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Anybody came, Luke Holmbs, Miranda Lambert, Carry Underwood, the whole nine. Well,
- 4:37Speaker 5: here's what's crazy, though, Taylor Swift showed up and played
- 4:40Speaker 5: a video kind of thanking him for being such an
- 4:44Speaker 5: inspiration to her in her career and for always being
- 4:47Speaker 5: so nice to her and treating her like anyone else.
- 4:50Speaker 5: But there are some reports coming out saying the fans
- 4:53Speaker 5: started booing Taylor. So it's causing this controversy of if
- 4:58Speaker 5: you don't like Taylor Swift should you be booing because
- 5:01Speaker 5: is it disrespectful to Alan Jackson.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I think it's disrespectful to Alan Jackson.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Well, it's just Taylor controversy everywhere we go. Unfortunately, but
- 5:11Speaker 5: Alan Jackson is completely done. He's had his health issues
- 5:14Speaker 5: and he's been doing the farewell, last show here, last
- 5:17Speaker 5: show there.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Now he finally has hung up as cowboy hat. At
- 5:20Speaker 3: least he said, hey, listen, I'm just retiring. I'm not dying. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 3: so yea yeah, but we're gonna miss him. Man, He's awesome.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Alan Jackson is one of the stalwarts.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I'm again that's your Music City Minute, and it's a
- 5:31Speaker 5: scorcher today.
- 5:32Speaker 3: It's gonna get up.
- 5:32Speaker 5: To ninety eight with that humidity the heat index, we're
- 5:35Speaker 5: looking triple digits today.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Boys, that is for sure. Joe's on the line, Joe,
- 5:39Speaker 3: what's going on? Buddy?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Hey?
- 5:41Speaker 6: John? I was wondering Donald y' also like to try
- 5:43Speaker 6: new things like we've been a screaming and stuff like that.
- 5:46Speaker 6: I was the wonder if anybody from your morning show
- 5:49Speaker 6: has ever tried the new Grillos Pickle smoothie from Smoothieking.
- 5:53Speaker 4: No, but I saw that pickles apparently are all the
- 5:56Speaker 4: rage in this country.
- 5:57Speaker 3: My wife is a pickle addict.
- 5:59Speaker 4: But yeah, they've got a pickle flavored smoothie where they've
- 6:02Speaker 4: partnered with Grillos Pickles and I haven't tried it yet.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Of you, it is very good.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Really, are you a pickle person?
- 6:10Speaker 6: I love pickles. I have about twenty pickles in my house.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Now, what's your favorite pickle brand? Grillos?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Okay, let me ask you this.
- 6:18Speaker 5: You think they're putting underdeveloped like cucumbers making them into
- 6:22Speaker 5: pickles because they're kind of they're kind of like.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Not fully grown.
- 6:27Speaker 6: I've actually watched them take the pickles from actual Grillos
- 6:32Speaker 6: container and blim them with a bunch of ice and
- 6:36Speaker 6: make a smoothie out of it.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Sounds like taste test Tuesday. I think we got to
- 6:39Speaker 3: do this. Yeah, yeah, good call sir, Thank you, no problem. Yeah, man,
- 6:43Speaker 3: that's great. Test Test Tuesday tomorrow, Grills.
- 6:46Speaker 4: It's the big show on Country ninety nine one w QIK.
- 6:49Speaker 2: We've been talking about your favorite hitting gyms here in
- 6:52Speaker 2: the North Florida area where you've got tickets.
- 6:53Speaker 3: In just a few minutes.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Good morning, It is the Big Show with Chumley, John
- 6:56Speaker 2: Meghan and Froggy Country ninety nine one WQYK Megan, you
- 7:00Speaker 2: got three things for.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Us, I sure do, and one of them is extremely
- 7:05Speaker 5: sweet a little Tree. Sweet Pete's Candy voted six out
- 7:09Speaker 5: of the top ten candy stores the.
- 7:11Speaker 3: USA Today Judges.
- 7:13Speaker 5: They went in and they fell in love with the
- 7:15Speaker 5: sea salt carmels, the caramel chocolate apples, and now I
- 7:19Speaker 5: think that we need a sweet treat in here too.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Sweet Pets.
- 7:22Speaker 4: That's a great place to take the kids this summer
- 7:24Speaker 4: if you've got young kids.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I used to take my daughter there. It's an awesome spot.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And you know, Pete of Sweet Peats is the Peter
- 7:31Speaker 3: of Peterbrook. Oh I did not know that.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Peterbrook's herd. The lady who started Peterbrook. Her
- 7:37Speaker 2: kids are Peter and Brook. So that's where Peterbrook came from.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And then Pete started his own things, so he's Sweet Pete.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So he's still part of the Peterbrook family.
- 7:46Speaker 3: John's knowledge of Jacksonville the Roots runs so deep. He
- 7:49Speaker 3: knows everyone and their mama and the cousin. Murray Bros.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Caddy Shack and World Golf Village closed its doors on
- 7:59Speaker 5: Saturday after being around for twenty five years.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Crazy, I know, did you ever go eat there? Never?
- 8:06Speaker 3: You never did? Never? Once?
- 8:07Speaker 2: I went once down there and we went to the PGA,
- 8:09Speaker 2: you know, did that tour down there, and then went
- 8:12Speaker 2: to the Murray Brothers.
- 8:13Speaker 3: We had to. You were just hoping Bill would be there.
- 8:15Speaker 4: You can't miss it when you drop by nine ninety five.
- 8:17Speaker 4: So it's going to be interesting see what goes in there.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I thought it was like a golf place. I didn't
- 8:21Speaker 5: realize it was a restaurant at all. So I feel
- 8:23Speaker 5: kind of sad I missed out on that.
- 8:24Speaker 3: It was good.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Cinnamon bun oreos are making to come back at July six.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You don't want to miss out on this, No, you
- 8:30Speaker 3: do not. These are so good. Have you guys had them? Never? No?
- 8:33Speaker 2: But I think you've changed the DNA of an oreo.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Is it still an oreo?
- 8:37Speaker 5: Well, you know, like the blondie oreos. Yeah, I think
- 8:41Speaker 5: that's still an oreo. Okay, I'm a double stuff guy. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 5: oh yeah, you got to I'm Megan. That's three things
- 8:46Speaker 5: you need to.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Know, all right, we need callers nine to ten right

- 9:00Speaker 3: July sixteenth, So we'll take you right now.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Colors nine and ten three at eight thirty six nine
- 9:03Speaker 2: nine play the pop quiz.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Good luck you.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I k some of those hidden gyms in the North
- 9:08Speaker 2: Florida area we've been hearing from you.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Yeah, Lucy mentioned chowder Ted's off Hecksher. I thought that
- 9:14Speaker 4: was a good one. Anything with fish camp in the title.
- 9:17Speaker 4: And then we've got Tyra's She's got something Tyra, I
- 9:20Speaker 4: don't know.
- 9:20Speaker 5: He's My favorite place is the beach at night, any
- 9:23Speaker 5: beach in particular.
- 9:24Speaker 6: I like to go out to nep June.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I like that idea because I'm a night beach.
- 9:28Speaker 2: All right, William, we'll start with you, longtime actress, highly
- 9:33Speaker 2: decorated actress, Meryl Streep.
- 9:35Speaker 3: How old is Meryl Streep, William Christina? Is she older
- 9:40Speaker 3: or younger than eighty?
- 9:42Speaker 7: I think she's younger.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Great guess, William, But Christina went in the right direction
- 9:46Speaker 2: seventy seven for Miss Meryl Streeps. I mean she's been
- 9:49Speaker 2: over fifty years acting. She looks great for her age. Yes,
- 9:52Speaker 2: she was just in devil worst product to right. All right, Christine,
- 9:55Speaker 2: you get that point and you get this question first.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It was on this day, this day, in what year
- 10:01Speaker 2: the first iPhone went on sale?
- 10:05Speaker 3: Two seven? It was two thousand and seven? Wow, Christina? Yeah,
- 10:11Speaker 3: roll was that a guest? I was trying to remember?
- 10:14Speaker 6: How long ago did I get out my first Yeah?
- 10:18Speaker 3: Well there you go. You got it.
- 10:19Speaker 2: William, you hit the bus all here with Christina and
- 10:21Speaker 2: they all in that number. Thanks for playing, Buddy, Yank
- 10:24Speaker 2: and Christina.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Congratulations.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Nice jot, Christina Hagan Maroney Kia Center, Orlando.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You can tell William really want to use.
- 10:34Speaker 4: That.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We could really mispronounce badly. Not really, they're pretty easy
- 10:37Speaker 3: names Alabama. Probably lived in Alabama for a while and
- 10:40Speaker 3: they have a few. Yeah, they do have a few
- 10:41Speaker 3: that can be tricky. So things in Florida get really interesting,
- 10:44Speaker 3: don't they trum me? They do.
- 10:45Speaker 4: There's often towns that people mispronounce. I think we have
- 10:49Speaker 4: one right here that's a big one is Ponta Vidra.
- 10:52Speaker 4: It's often Ponta Verde, Ponta verdavert A million different mispronunciations.
- 10:58Speaker 3: That's true, and all around ten all around this city. Uh.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Sometimes we have the English pronunciation, we have the Spanish pronunciation,
- 11:05Speaker 2: the French pronounce of different like street names or parts
- 11:08Speaker 2: of town that people if you're not from there, you
- 11:11Speaker 2: don't get it right. So it is certainly a melting
- 11:14Speaker 2: pot when it comes to our state and our city.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Uh.
- 11:16Speaker 2: But some cities around Florida are mispronounced many, many times.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Megan, let me give you one. See if you can
- 11:22Speaker 4: pronounce this, I'll spell it. Okay, it's one word. D
- 11:26Speaker 4: u n e d i n dundon? Is it?
- 11:30Speaker 3: What is it? Gave you the buzz dun Eden. I
- 11:38Speaker 3: never would have gotten that. In millionaires. That is a
- 11:41Speaker 3: Scottish settlement.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Really, they made a big they made a big deal
- 11:44Speaker 2: out of it with the h with the World Cup
- 11:46Speaker 2: last week that they were because they played in Miami,
- 11:49Speaker 2: the Scottish team. Yeah, and they were hanging out and
- 11:51Speaker 2: dune eaed and throwing down and Ron DeSantis I think
- 11:54Speaker 2: might be from down there.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a tough one. Am I c A N
- 11:59Speaker 3: O P. Why my canopy is it? Mike? You would
- 12:05Speaker 3: think it's close.
- 12:06Speaker 4: One would think Micanopie, Michanopie.
- 12:10Speaker 3: What the heck? It gets mentioned in John Anderson seminal
- 12:12Speaker 3: when Aul the way up to Mick and Opie. That
- 12:16Speaker 3: was a pretty good cho John.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Okay, how about I am m okay a l e
- 12:25Speaker 2: e here look at it?
- 12:26Speaker 3: What do you think? Meg? The two of you know
- 12:28Speaker 3: what this one is? Maybe? What do you think Chulmley
- 12:32Speaker 3: Mochalley mochaly is what I know it as I think.
- 12:35Speaker 5: I'm I think we're just guessed that was good your
- 12:38Speaker 5: Florida blood's coming out, because I would have said probably
- 12:40Speaker 5: I'm a Kaylee.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I think when I first saw that, I thought the
- 12:44Speaker 2: same thing. It used to be a camp down there
- 12:46Speaker 2: on Easton used to do that. L u TC This
- 12:49Speaker 2: is one that I don't know about really for sure
- 12:52Speaker 2: what I think. But I've also heard it pronounced loots,
- 12:56Speaker 2: but I don't know if those people were wrong.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Maybe somebody can call us up three eight eight thirty
- 13:01Speaker 4: six ninety nine.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Is it Lutz or loots? And what's this one?
- 13:04Speaker 4: I've never seen this town of Florida m A s
- 13:08Speaker 4: A r y K town all one word m as
- 13:12Speaker 4: air y k t O W n.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It looks like a Master Ricktown. Maybe maybe it sounds
- 13:20Speaker 3: like a K pop drama? Is it Master Ricktown? Three?
- 13:27Speaker 4: Eight eight thirty six, ninety nine You Gotta help Us
- 13:30Speaker 4: ninety nine one w QIK It's the big show.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Needing a little feel good right now, Hey, Froggy. So
- 13:39Speaker 3: we go down to Southwest Florida.
- 13:41Speaker 7: Five hundred seniors there in that area a little bit
- 13:44Speaker 7: more prepared for hurricane season thanks to a community wide
- 13:48Speaker 7: effort so Florida Power and Light. They teamed up with
- 13:50Speaker 7: a community cooperative to deliver emergency meal kits filled with
- 13:54Speaker 7: food and water to home bound seniors that are living
- 13:57Speaker 7: in Lee County. And for the recipients, it wasn't just
- 13:59Speaker 7: about the supplies, it was knowing that someone cared enough
- 14:02Speaker 7: to check on them before the first storm arrives. About
- 14:06Speaker 7: a month in the hurricane season. Nothing yet, but you know,
- 14:08Speaker 7: we always got to be ready for when they get here.
- 14:10Speaker 7: It's proof that a little preparation and a little kindness
- 14:13Speaker 7: it goes.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Along with concert was where I come from? Where I
- 14:16Speaker 3: come from, corn bread and chicken.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Uh, we're talking about people's where they come from. And
- 14:22Speaker 2: some of these small towns in the state of Florida.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And how you pronounce these things?
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yeah, we uh we covered michanopie.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Michanopie, yeah yeah, but it's m I c a n
- 14:32Speaker 4: op y, so it could be mic ing up it's micanopie.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Well we're hearing from you nine O four three eight
- 14:40Speaker 2: eight thirty six ninety nine.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yeah, what you got for us? Yeah, mickanopie selfolk, jamesvill there,
- 14:44Speaker 3: I know where that is?
- 14:46Speaker 6: Uh? Have you ever heard of Polataka.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Palaka?
- 14:54Speaker 6: Don't hear that place?
- 14:57Speaker 2: If it's anything like Placa I have? But is there
- 14:59Speaker 2: a palattacka?
- 15:01Speaker 6: No, that's it when we're growing up, a hospital it palatata.
- 15:05Speaker 3: That's funny, make it more poetic.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I like it.
- 15:07Speaker 6: I like it.
- 15:08Speaker 3: What's your name?
- 15:09Speaker 6: Uh, Robert?
