- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we saw how King David grew older
- 0:13and prepared Israel for the future. We learned
- 0:17that David didn't hold on to power. Instead,
- 0:21he trusted God and helped the next king get ready
- 0:24to lead. Today, we meet that new king. His name
- 0:30is Solomon. Solomon is about to learn something
- 0:34very important. Not just about being king, but
- 0:38about what God cares about in a leader. Are you
- 0:43ready for the story? Let's jump in. After King
- 1:02David died, Solomon became king of Israel. This
- 1:07was a joyful moment, but it was also a serious
- 1:11one. Israel was a large nation. The people needed
- 1:16guidance. They needed fairness. They needed peace.
- 1:21And Solomon knew that being king was not just
- 1:24about wearing a crown or sitting on a throne.
- 1:28Solomon was young. and he felt the weight of
- 1:32responsibility. He understood that leading God's
- 1:36people was too big a task to handle alone. One
- 1:41night, while Solomon was sleeping, God appeared
- 1:45to him in a dream. God invited Solomon to ask
- 1:49for whatever he needed. Solomon thought carefully.
- 1:54He remembered how God had helped his father David.
- 1:58He also knew that riches could disappear and
- 2:01power could be misused. Solomon understood that
- 2:05what he needed most was help to know what was
- 2:08right. So Solomon asked God to give him understanding.
- 2:13A wise heart that could tell the difference between
- 2:17right and wrong so he could lead God's people
- 2:19well. God was pleased with Solomon's request.
- 2:24He hadn't asked for wealth. victory or long life.
- 2:29He had asked for wisdom. God decided to give
- 2:33Solomon wisdom. Greater wisdom than any king
- 2:37before him or after him. He also gave Solomon
- 2:41what he had not asked for. Wealth and honor.
- 2:46He promised Solomon long life if Solomon walked
- 2:50in obedience and kept God's commands. When Solomon
- 2:54woke up, He knew God had heard him. Soon the
- 3:00people of Israel began to see Solomon's wisdom
- 3:03in the way he ruled. He listened carefully. He
- 3:08judged fairly. He made choices that helped the
- 3:12people feel safe and cared for. Solomon's wisdom
- 3:16showed everyone that a good leader listens to
- 3:19God first. What a great story. Solomon could
- 3:31have asked for many things, but he chose wisdom.
- 3:37Let's stop and think for a moment. Why do you
- 3:42think knowing what is right and wrong is so important
- 3:46for a leader? Have you ever faced a situation
- 3:52where you didn't know what the right choice was?
- 3:59Solomon's story teaches us that God values humble
- 4:03hearts. Hearts that ask for help instead of pretending
- 4:07to know everything. And here's something important
- 4:10to remember. You don't have to be a king to ask
- 4:14God for wisdom. God listens to children too and
- 4:19is happy to give it to those who ask with honesty
- 4:22and humility. Thanks for joining me today. Next
- 4:29time on Wonderfully Made, we'll see a moment
- 4:32when Solomon's wisdom is put to the test. Two
- 4:36women will come to the king with a difficult
- 4:39problem, and everyone will be amazed by the wise
- 4:43decision Solomon makes. Until then, remember,
- 4:47you are wonderfully made, and God is with you
- 4:51every step of the way. Bye for now.
