Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hello there, leap progs, Welcome to a bonus episode here
- 0:06Speaker 2: on the gate Leapers podcast feed. It's not really a
- 0:09Speaker 2: bonus episode in that it's like new fresh, straight from
- 0:13Speaker 2: the top of the shelf.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Is that what they say?
- 0:16Speaker 2: But it's a bonus for those of you who want
- 0:18Speaker 2: to celebrate this Superholock November that we're having. I do
- 0:23Speaker 2: hope you enjoyed our Doctor Who episode featuring Max Smith
- 0:27Speaker 2: a Max Smith, and coming up later this week we
- 0:31Speaker 2: have our Sherlock Holmes fandemonium. But there's something missing, isn't there? Yep,
- 0:36Speaker 2: it's the superpart. We leapt our way into the supernatural
- 0:40Speaker 2: fandom three and a half years ago. Now this episode
- 0:44Speaker 2: is three and a half years old, and it was
- 0:47Speaker 2: the first episode where we connected with Drew. This was
- 0:51Speaker 2: the first episode we made together, and now three and
- 0:53Speaker 2: a half years later, I can't even count the number
- 0:56Speaker 2: of episodes we've made together. Drew just instantly fit into
- 0:59Speaker 2: the vibe of what we were making here. His relentless positivity,
- 1:04Speaker 2: his desire to go for the joke and see the
- 1:06Speaker 2: funny side of things, and his willingness to play games
- 1:11Speaker 2: and be silly in a fandom space.
- 1:13Speaker 3: We love you so much, Drew.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Thank you for everything you've contributed to this podcast over
- 1:18Speaker 2: the years and hopefully will continue to do so.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I know the listeners love you.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And yeah, thanks so much for saying yes three and
- 1:26Speaker 2: a half years ago on a whim to a silly
- 1:29Speaker 2: little podcast. This was such a fun episode. I still
- 1:33Speaker 2: have such fond memories of this episode, but listening back
- 1:35Speaker 2: to it, I cannot believe how different I sound. It
- 1:39Speaker 2: is wild. I can hear more of like the BBC
- 1:43Speaker 2: panel show style voice and less my own voice. It's
- 1:46Speaker 2: I don't know, which is kind of encouraging. I guess
- 1:48Speaker 2: that I've managed to find my own voice over the
- 1:51Speaker 2: last three and a half years. I still try to
- 1:53Speaker 2: make sure I speak somewhat clearly, even though it's not
- 1:57Speaker 2: in my instinct to do so. I'm a natural mum.
- 2:00Speaker 2: If I'm not being mindful, I mumble that's that's one
- 2:04Speaker 2: of my catch phrases. But now there's definitely way less
- 2:07Speaker 2: of a mask when I'm hosting fandemoniums. So thank you
- 2:11Speaker 2: to listeners, Thank you to players over the years for
- 2:15Speaker 2: allowing me to do that. It's also so cool just
- 2:18Speaker 2: to reflect on how far we've come as a podcast
- 2:21Speaker 2: in that time and makes me really excited and hopeful
- 2:25Speaker 2: as to where we could be three and a half
- 2:27Speaker 2: years from now. Like it's only in the last year
- 2:30Speaker 2: that we've started doing live shows and they're going really
- 2:33Speaker 2: well and will continue to be a thing throughout next year.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So I mean, and to give a little sneak preview,
- 2:40Speaker 2: we're applying to play a couple of conventions next summer,
- 2:43Speaker 2: so that's exciting for us.
- 2:46Speaker 3: That's that's wild.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I think it goes to show that if you have
- 2:50Speaker 2: a growth mindset and you just get on with doing
- 2:54Speaker 2: something you can, you can kind of achieve anything. And
- 2:58Speaker 2: please remember that over simpler inspiration as you now listen
- 3:02Speaker 2: to an episode that we made three and a half
- 3:04Speaker 2: years ago when our podcasting skills weren't quite as average
- 3:08Speaker 2: as they are now. If you're a new listener, please
- 3:11Speaker 2: enjoy this old episode from the archives. If you are
- 3:14Speaker 2: a regular listener who's been with us for years and
- 3:17Speaker 2: you remember this the first time round, would you like
- 3:19Speaker 2: to have us put old episodes on the feed more
- 3:22Speaker 2: often for you to revisit. Is that something you're interested in,
- 3:25Speaker 2: we can do it. It's possible. As always, Thank you
- 3:28Speaker 2: so much for listening Patreon dot com forward slash gate leapers.
- 3:32Speaker 2: If you want to check out video episodes, we've probably
- 3:35Speaker 2: got about fifty of our episodes in some kind of
- 3:39Speaker 2: video form, including a small handful of live ones where
- 3:43Speaker 2: we'll add a new one each month in twenty twenty six.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Lots of bonus episodes are fandom flashbacks, about two years worth.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Maybe there's a whole archive to dive into. For just
- 3:55Speaker 2: four bucks a month, it's the price of well, it
- 3:58Speaker 2: used to be the price of a coffee, but I
- 3:59Speaker 2: I even think coffee is more than four bucks now.
- 4:02Speaker 2: We don't need to put our prices up like Starbucks
- 4:04Speaker 2: do that. We don't need to do that. Four bucks
- 4:06Speaker 2: a month is great. That's still a good number for us.
- 4:08Speaker 2: So if you feel like supporting online and now live
- 4:12Speaker 2: and local comedy, then please do check out Patreon dot
- 4:15Speaker 2: com slash gate leapers and know that if you do
- 4:18Speaker 2: sign up and support us, you're paying it forward for
- 4:20Speaker 2: about fifty people who can't, so that's awesome. You're paying
- 4:25Speaker 2: on behalf of yourself at about fifty listeners, which is
- 4:29Speaker 2: that's a cool feeling. Thank you so much, leap Brogs.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Please enjoy this trip into the archives. It's pandemonium, it's
- 4:36Speaker 2: super nature, It's supernatural. Hello, and welcome to Gatesleepers, the
- 4:59Speaker 2: pop culture panel g where we shine a spotlight onto
- 5:01Speaker 2: everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games master and green eyed
- 5:05Speaker 2: Demon Matt Watson, and I cannot do this podcast game
- 5:09Speaker 2: show alone. I've tried, but it's no fun answering questions
- 5:12Speaker 2: that I've written by myself. So I'll need two pairs
- 5:17Speaker 2: of beast battling brothers to play my foil.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Please welcome your team.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Captain's fellow Gatesleepers, Audre Stephenson, Hello, and Jason When Hello.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Hello? How are you both?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Are you ready for a game show about running after
- 5:30Speaker 2: monsters while running away from your feelings?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yes, I'm very ready.
- 5:36Speaker 4: I thought I was ready. I have watched a good
- 5:38Speaker 4: chunk of this show, and then you mentioned a green
- 5:41Speaker 4: eyed demon and I have no freaking clue who that is,
- 5:44Speaker 4: and that's a bad start.
- 5:45Speaker 5: I mean, I don't think there's a green eyed one.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I think the thing was that he has green eyes
- 5:50Speaker 5: and he is a demon.
- 5:51Speaker 3: For posing the quiz.
- 5:53Speaker 6: Okay, okay, do you remember the other eyed demons, blue
- 5:58Speaker 6: eyed sharing gun, that's Naruto. Sorry, guys, just gonna list
- 6:04Speaker 6: colors now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, roygbib Yeah. So uh Jason,
- 6:10Speaker 6: what is your relationship to Supernatural?
- 6:12Speaker 5: Uh?
- 6:12Speaker 4: Supernatural? I watched a lot of it in college and
- 6:16Speaker 4: I don't remember why, but I got into I feel
- 6:20Speaker 4: like this happens to every Supernatural fan, Like you invest
- 6:23Speaker 4: X amount and then you're in it. Yeah, you might
- 6:25Speaker 4: as well finish it, but then more seasons come out
- 6:28Speaker 4: and you're like, oh my god, can I do this again?
- 6:31Speaker 6: Can I have my heartbroken again? Yeah? I got in
- 6:35Speaker 6: it for the monsters. I really like monsters. I like
- 6:37Speaker 6: occult things. Yes, it's it's a Scooby Doo. Isn't it
- 6:40Speaker 6: a little bit of Scooby do in that? Yeahah for sure.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 5: But as Matt said, the running is away from how
- 6:45Speaker 5: you feel.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Yeah, and older, you're a little more familiar with Supernatural?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Is that fair to say? Yes?
- 6:52Speaker 5: I have not watched up to season fifteen, but I
- 6:55Speaker 5: did a recheck.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And up to eleven. You made it to eleven. I
- 6:59Speaker 3: made it to eleven.
- 7:00Speaker 5: And then I just stopped having For some reason, I
- 7:04Speaker 5: just couldn't find the episodes in illegal ways anymore. And
- 7:08Speaker 5: I just didn't have Netflix at the time, and it
- 7:11Speaker 5: was just a whole thing, fell off, fell off the wagon.
- 7:14Speaker 2: But you didn't have a cable subscription service. I didn't
- 7:19Speaker 2: have a cable service as a post college millennial. No,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I didn't watch it in college. Loved it. Had a
- 7:27Speaker 2: super who lock blog, of course.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Nice.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I think that's how we met. Yeah, yeah, that is
- 7:37Speaker 2: what it is. Okay, Well, to play these games about Supernatural,
- 7:40Speaker 2: you'll each need a teammate, a hunter in arms to
- 7:43Speaker 2: take down my demonic questions, Audra, Who is your teammate today?
- 7:48Speaker 5: He is a voice actor, designer, and co host of
- 7:51Speaker 5: Carrying Wayward podcast.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's Drew Shulman. Hey, welcome Drew. Hello, how are you doing.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I'm doing well.
- 8:00Speaker 6: I loved listening to everyone else's introductions because I feel
- 8:03Speaker 6: a little less bad for how little of the show
- 8:05Speaker 6: I've actually seen to this point.
- 8:08Speaker 3: How much of the show have you seen?
- 8:10Speaker 6: I watched the first episode of season four, and I've
- 8:13Speaker 6: seen a bit more of season four, maybe back when
- 8:15Speaker 6: I watched it when I was in high school, which
- 8:17Speaker 6: makes me feel a lot older than I really think
- 8:19Speaker 6: I am. Everyone's watching it in college and I'm like, yeah, college, Well.
- 8:26Speaker 5: It had been out, yes, like there was a bit
- 8:28Speaker 5: to catch up.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Not when it was coming out. It was collected on Netflix. Yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 4: because I was.
- 8:34Speaker 5: I started college in twenty eleven and the show started
- 8:38Speaker 5: two thousand and five.
- 8:39Speaker 3: See you now either making Drew feel better or worse.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I realized that, and I was doing the math to
- 8:46Speaker 3: figure it out. Yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 5: The second I said it, I was like, I don't
- 8:51Speaker 5: know what I'm doing.
- 8:54Speaker 7: No.
- 8:54Speaker 6: I watched it when it originally aired back in five.
- 8:57Speaker 6: I made it till roughly the end of season four,
- 9:00Speaker 6: watching kind of semi sporadically, and then I saw the
- 9:03Speaker 6: beginning of season five and just literally noped out halfway
- 9:06Speaker 6: through an episode because I just couldn't stand that kinds
- 9:08Speaker 6: of that episode. That's fair, That's wildly realistic for someone
- 9:13Speaker 6: who will co hosts a podcast entirely on the show. Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 6: I eventually had to come back to the show for
- 9:21Speaker 6: our podcast to exist. But it's been a lot better
- 9:24Speaker 6: watching it with a friend who understands and yeah, being
- 9:27Speaker 6: able to talk about it and you know, have feelings.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, these these shows are all about community. It's it's
- 9:34Speaker 2: about finding your fellow fans and it's the let's face it,
- 9:37Speaker 2: it's the discussions after the episodes that are bad than
- 9:40Speaker 2: the episodes themselves. Don't I hope the producers aren't listening.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Do I care?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Probably not. That's fantastic, Jason. You're going to need a
- 9:50Speaker 2: teammate as well. I am is your teammate today my teammates.
- 9:53Speaker 4: She's a podcaster, a TikTok pro, and is also co
- 9:56Speaker 4: host of the Carrying Wayward podcast.
- 9:58Speaker 3: It's Marie Bigaroo. Hello, Hello, Marie, Hi, how are you.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It's so nice to meet all of you.
- 10:05Speaker 3: It's so nice to see you too.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Oh wonderful. Wow, thank you so much. What is your
- 10:10Speaker 2: relationship with Supernatural?
- 10:12Speaker 1: It is much like the Brothers, A codependent one.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Wow.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I think I'm actually the newest, or like the person
- 10:21Speaker 1: who started watching it the later later on in life,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I suppose, because I started watching it when I was
- 10:30Speaker 1: fresh out of a breakup, which sort of coincided with
- 10:34Speaker 1: the twenty sixteen American election.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Oh hello, by.
- 10:38Speaker 5: An absolute emotional shit storm.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Listen.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I was in a bad place and I figured what
- 10:48Speaker 1: could possibly cheer me up? And for some reason, Netflix
- 10:53Speaker 1: suggested Supernatural And I've just been watching that show ever
- 10:57Speaker 1: since so amazing.
- 10:59Speaker 4: I'm really glad that you add a caveat to that
- 11:02Speaker 4: of like what will make me feel better, because thus
- 11:05Speaker 4: far that story said I've been in a breakup. The
- 11:08Speaker 4: twenty sixteen elections sucked, I might as well watch Supernatural
- 11:11Speaker 4: as one, just to add on to it the trifecta.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, maybe the full story is also that our
- 11:19Speaker 1: producer rachelle had always told me you should you should
- 11:22Speaker 1: listen to you should watch Supernatural, you should watch Supernatural,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and I was just like, no, it's just really not
- 11:27Speaker 1: my cup of tea. It's way too depressing. I'm not
- 11:29Speaker 1: gonna watch it. And I was in that space where
- 11:32Speaker 1: I was like, you know what, I just might as
- 11:34Speaker 1: well watch it now I have nothing else to lose.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I like that attitude and now really hosting the co
- 11:41Speaker 2: hosting the Carrying Way with podcast, you love Supernatural and
- 11:44Speaker 2: you're all on board with it?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, I absolutely love it. I mean it's a
- 11:48Speaker 1: love hate relationship just the same way that most people
- 11:51Speaker 1: love and hate Supernatural at the same time. But it's
- 11:54Speaker 1: definitely a lot of love wonderful.
- 11:56Speaker 4: That's one of the most Gaate Leaper's attitudes about a
- 11:58Speaker 4: fandom ever, Oh, love hate relationship. Yeah, that's the whole
- 12:00Speaker 4: basis of our show. I don't think there's a fandom.
- 12:02Speaker 4: We haven't had a love hate relationship with absolute capacity.
- 12:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 2: All right, let's get some team names up on the scoreboard.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I'd like a supernatural themed team name from each pair. Please,
- 12:14Speaker 2: Let's begin with Audra and Drew.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I know this is coming every time, and yet I
- 12:20Speaker 1: don't prepare.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Oh.
- 12:23Speaker 6: I've been thinking about this since you got the invitation
- 12:25Speaker 6: to be on the show.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 12:28Speaker 6: So far, the only thing I have is trying to
- 12:31Speaker 6: think of a pun with leprechauns or Locknest monsters.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Oh no, I can't think of anything.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I really thought you had.
- 12:44Speaker 5: I I was so excited about it conceptually.
- 12:49Speaker 6: You were like, you really only have the light bulb
- 12:51Speaker 6: moment and it will give me the idea afterwards.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I mean, do you want to go with like a
- 12:56Speaker 2: one team names themselves, something to do with Sam. One
- 12:59Speaker 2: team names themselves, set to do with Dean. That could
- 13:01Speaker 2: be a path we could go.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I was gonna say we could be the Sam girls
- 13:05Speaker 1: and the Dean Girls, and I feel like that would
- 13:07Speaker 1: be very on theme.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Keeps it very very simple for me ash.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Except I'm calling us the Dean Beans. Oh, there we go,
- 13:15Speaker 6: the Dean Beans, no reason a rhyme. It's incredible.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I love it is that is that good with you, Captain?
- 13:22Speaker 5: I I am. I was more Sam when I was
- 13:25Speaker 5: watching it originally, but I do. I will accept the
- 13:29Speaker 5: Dean Beans.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I'm Dean all the way.
- 13:31Speaker 7: Man.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I've always been a Dean guy guy. I don't know
- 13:35Speaker 4: if that's like my desire to be a hegemonic male,
- 13:37Speaker 4: but I've always been a Dean guy. I'm a sucker
- 13:41Speaker 4: for a rough guy, but he's soft on the inside,
- 13:43Speaker 4: you know.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Very yeah, very soft, very soft.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Marie's face really vindicated me. It was like it was
- 13:54Speaker 4: like radiating warmth. Yeah, like ooh was a real life face.
- 13:59Speaker 4: That's that's just like.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I have to say that I was a little bit
- 14:05Speaker 1: more of a Sam girl when I started watching as well.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And then the more yeah, there you go, And then
- 14:11Speaker 1: the more I started watching, the more I realized that
- 14:14Speaker 1: Dean is is very relatable in very many ways.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Tables, oh my god.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And in my two week crash course of this fandom,
- 14:24Speaker 2: I started out as a Sam guy and I was like, oh, no,
- 14:27Speaker 2: Dean is the more complex, interesting character. Okay, so it's
- 14:30Speaker 2: clearly a journey that happens. I just did it in
- 14:32Speaker 2: two weeks.
- 14:35Speaker 5: I think the two people I were watching I was
- 14:37Speaker 5: watching it with to begin with, were both hardcore Dean
- 14:42Speaker 5: from day one, and I think it's just my contrarian
- 14:46Speaker 5: instincts that I had to go hardcore Sam.
- 14:50Speaker 3: That's relatable.
- 14:51Speaker 2: We've got Ordra and Drew. Is the Dean Beans? Yes,
- 14:54Speaker 2: Jason and Marie. Sam.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Is it going to be a play on that You're
- 14:57Speaker 3: going to have like a Sam?
- 15:00Speaker 4: The first thing that comes to mind. And I don't
- 15:02Speaker 4: know how you feel about this, because if I'm being honest,
- 15:04Speaker 4: I feel half on it.
- 15:05Speaker 3: The Sammy Whammys. The Sammy Whammys. Let's go with that.
- 15:11Speaker 3: This makes complete sense. Let's go ahead.
- 15:13Speaker 2: The Sammy Whammys. I like, I remember going Dean Bean
- 15:16Speaker 2: or you know, yeah, yeah, you got to do the rhyme?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Is that with a silent H?
- 15:22Speaker 4: In the silent H? I was thinking that, thank you?
- 15:24Speaker 4: The Sammy Whammys.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Okay, some good names, impression, both of us.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Are some good names. You've got? Yeah, the Dean Beans
- 15:33Speaker 3: versus the Sammy Whammys. Let's go.
- 15:34Speaker 2: If I don't remember that. I don't deserve to remember
- 15:38Speaker 2: team names.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I'll host this.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Podcast, all right, Let's catch everyone up on the fandom
- 15:43Speaker 2: so we can all achieve passing knowledge.
- 15:49Speaker 3: There we go, remembered. We'll get there eventually.
- 15:53Speaker 2: The goal is by the end of season two, we
- 15:55Speaker 2: can I'll be in a position where I feel like
- 15:57Speaker 2: I can start a culture.
- 15:59Speaker 5: At the same time, Yeah, Jason, and I will actually remember.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Supernatural is a dark fantasy drama television series starring Jared
- 16:09Speaker 2: Padileki and Jensen Accles as Sam and Dean Winchester, two
- 16:13Speaker 2: monster hunting brothers who attempt to track down demons, creatures,
- 16:17Speaker 2: and their own family history. Just twenty three and me, guys,
- 16:20Speaker 2: they've got all our data anyway, Just do that. The
- 16:23Speaker 2: show began in two thousand and five and ran for
- 16:26Speaker 2: fifteen seasons, ending in twenty twenty. If you're wondering how
- 16:30Speaker 2: they kept the show going with original monster of the
- 16:32Speaker 2: Weak ideas for fifteen years, the answer is they didn't.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Really. Supernatural has a deeply seems that.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I read a lot of discourse, and that seemed to
- 16:46Speaker 2: be the consensus, even among the most hard coffee.
- 16:50Speaker 4: It's such an overwhelming consensus that I actually knew where
- 16:52Speaker 4: he was going. Yeah, and then you're just your delivery
- 16:54Speaker 4: of it was beautiful.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Supernatural has a deeply passionate phantom to this day, with
- 17:00Speaker 2: communities forming on Twitter, Tumblr, and of course Archive of
- 17:04Speaker 2: our own.
- 17:05Speaker 3: That's right.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Supernatural is a popular fanfic fandom, largely due to queerbating, misogynistic,
- 17:11Speaker 2: and just playing lazy writing, leaving fans to pick up
- 17:13Speaker 2: the pieces and tell stories that actually represent the characterization
- 17:17Speaker 2: presented to the fandom. That's what I found in my research,
- 17:20Speaker 2: and I stand by it because Dean, I'm just gonna
- 17:23Speaker 2: say this right now, Dean is bisexual.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yeah, this is this is the good place.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Yeah, in everything, but like explicitly expressed, which is just frustrating.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I've known about this for two weeks and I just
- 17:39Speaker 2: want to say to both of you, it's messed up
- 17:40Speaker 2: what they did to you.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Guys watched it too. Thank you so much.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I feel so validated.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I have terrible gaitar was it with that one Irish
- 17:52Speaker 4: guy that he was stuck in purgatory with? Is that
- 17:54Speaker 4: what you're talking about? I don't get it.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I mean, Benny, but yes, but.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Also half of the characters that they put him with.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Really in our male really essentially, yes, watched the show
- 18:07Speaker 3: at this point.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Every time they've paired him with other man, I think
- 18:09Speaker 6: I've had a moment of like, yeah, this works as
- 18:11Speaker 6: a couple.
- 18:13Speaker 3: It's the essence of his personality as well all that.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Yeah, wow, I can't believe I've missed this this entire time,
- 18:18Speaker 4: but it again, I have the worst gaitar in the ald.
- 18:21Speaker 2: So with themes of brotherhood, trauma, loss, love, and the
- 18:26Speaker 2: horrors of everyday life, Supernatural is supernatural but also covers
- 18:30Speaker 2: the human experience or is that the angel experience or
- 18:34Speaker 2: the demon experience? Do they become gods at some point
- 18:36Speaker 2: as well? I can't remember. It covers a lot of experiences.
- 18:42Speaker 2: So it's good to be inspired by the things that
- 18:44Speaker 2: we love. So let's talk muses, because today's teams won't
- 18:47Speaker 2: be completing this podcast game show alone. No, each player
- 18:51Speaker 2: has brought a muse from this fandom to inspire their victory. Odra,
- 18:55Speaker 2: what's inspiring you from Supernatural? They don't fit me anymore.
- 19:00Speaker 2: But I did have shoes that I made that were
- 19:03Speaker 2: just like white keats that I drew a bunch of
- 19:07Speaker 2: symbols like anti possession, like reaper trap, like a bunch
- 19:11Speaker 2: of symbols, and they just said like saving people, hunting things,
- 19:16Speaker 2: the family business. And it had like the license plate
- 19:18Speaker 2: of the Impala on the back of them.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I did, and I did like fake.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Blood splatters on one of them and then like black
- 19:26Speaker 5: splatters on the other one.
- 19:28Speaker 3: It was great. I should have kept them.
- 19:31Speaker 5: So I only have my little wristband that has the exorcies,
- 19:35Speaker 5: like the words exorses almost aay like the whole.
- 19:39Speaker 3: So you had the you had the unofficial merch, you
- 19:42Speaker 3: had the fan.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Oh my god, you're the Katie of this episode. Katie
- 19:47Speaker 4: made her own march too. You're crazy. I wasn't crazy.
- 19:54Speaker 4: I was poor, very valid supernatural fans.
- 20:01Speaker 6: Parabolic shift that a common took of, like what a
- 20:04Speaker 6: nice compliment your.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Great It was a journey.
- 20:08Speaker 5: And my roommate at the time was a painting major
- 20:11Speaker 5: and so like you could get the six dollars shoes,
- 20:14Speaker 5: and then she had like all kinds of art supplies.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Good good stuff that I hope they're so great. I
- 20:22Speaker 3: love that.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I need to find a picture. I have pictures of them.
- 20:25Speaker 4: You can you could people would on dude, people would Oh,
- 20:29Speaker 4: I oh, I could start Supernatural shop writing it down
- 20:34Speaker 4: Natural Shot.
- 20:37Speaker 3: That's a show I watched and your teammates, Drew, what
- 20:39Speaker 3: have you brought us? Your muse? What's inspiring you from
- 20:42Speaker 3: this fandom?
- 20:43Speaker 6: My muse from this fandom has to be completely out
- 20:48Speaker 6: of context. Clips of Misha Collins as Castiel just saying
- 20:52Speaker 6: the most insane things?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Could you give us?
- 20:55Speaker 6: I feel like I feel like I just send clips
- 20:58Speaker 6: to Mary like once a week of just cast Like
- 21:01Speaker 6: just asking a bizarre questions that just in the universe,
- 21:06Speaker 6: I'm sure, but just as him playing this adorable character,
- 21:10Speaker 6: just being like I don't understand this joke. I don't
- 21:12Speaker 6: get this reference, and it's just like it just it
- 21:15Speaker 6: brings a smile to my face. And I've only seen
- 21:17Speaker 6: him in one episode at this point. I love him
- 21:20Speaker 6: so much.
- 21:22Speaker 5: He's such a pure soul like that, I do not
- 21:26Speaker 5: understand this reference.
- 21:29Speaker 6: He plays being the outsider so well and I connected
- 21:32Speaker 6: that on so many levels.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Oh that's a I mean, that's good news for carrying
- 21:37Speaker 2: Waywood because it means the best and most exciting episodes
- 21:40Speaker 2: yet to come when Castile is introduced and oh, indeed,
- 21:44Speaker 2: Drew can be inspired on a weekly basis.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, oh certainly, And like we've we've both been and
- 21:49Speaker 1: even our listeners too, Like we've just been counting down
- 21:52Speaker 1: until the moment that Drew was going to meet Cass
- 21:55Speaker 1: and that was our moment that we were so excited for.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Fantastic. Uh, that's so cute, Jason. Oh, yes, you're gonna
- 22:03Speaker 2: need amuse? Yes, what's inspiring you from Supernatural?
- 22:05Speaker 4: I do have a muse. It's my friend Mimi Wynn.
- 22:08Speaker 4: She is my only friend I've ever had from college ever,
- 22:12Speaker 4: and I've done like ten years of college, I swear
- 22:14Speaker 4: to God. And it's the very first time I ever
- 22:18Speaker 4: met her. I didn't know how to make friends. I
- 22:20Speaker 4: really made an attempt my very first year of college.
- 22:22Speaker 4: This was Vitnamese one oh one. I already knew how
- 22:25Speaker 4: to speak video. Everyone takes an easy class inspire.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 4: And I overheard this girl and this other girl talking
- 22:33Speaker 4: about Supernatural and I just started it, as I mentioned before,
- 22:36Speaker 4: I started in college, and I went, are you more
- 22:38Speaker 4: of a Dean girl or a sam girl? And she
- 22:41Speaker 4: is stated to this day we've been friends for ten
- 22:44Speaker 4: years now. She has stated, to this day, I thought
- 22:47Speaker 4: you were gay because us Oh, Wow, Yeah, because there
- 22:51Speaker 4: was zero context. You just asked that out of nowhere,
- 22:54Speaker 4: and I just thought you were gay and was very
- 22:56Speaker 4: curious and I don't know what the connection between that is.
- 22:59Speaker 4: But we're still friends to this day, so that's nice.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Mmmm.
- 23:03Speaker 5: She didn't know you were hitting on her and so
- 23:05Speaker 5: that's no, that's not true.
- 23:08Speaker 4: You guy, You guys, I'm a Dean girl.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I was gonna say, there's a very strong Dean energy there.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I'm feeling that as well, just trying to make connections
- 23:24Speaker 4: and not knowing how So that's my muse is that story,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and my friend, that's that's a cute story, and it's
- 23:30Speaker 4: to connect with people of the fantoms.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's always a nice thing.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Murray your inspiration, your muse for Supernatural?
- 23:37Speaker 1: I feel like my my muse when it comes to
- 23:40Speaker 1: Supernatural has to do with like how quickly and like
- 23:44Speaker 1: effectively and lovingly the fan base tends to like mobilize
- 23:49Speaker 1: itself for the things that it cares about. And you
- 23:53Speaker 1: mentioned you know, it was messed up what they did
- 23:55Speaker 1: to you, and it really was, and as you can imagine,
- 23:58Speaker 1: a lot of people were really really upset, and with reason.
- 24:01Speaker 1: In my opinion.
- 24:02Speaker 3: I agree, thank you.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And instead of like just being upset on social media,
- 24:08Speaker 1: like people mobilize themselves and managed to raise over hold on.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I have the numbers here, seventy thousand dollars for the
- 24:17Speaker 1: Trevor Project, which helps LGBTQ youth prevent suicide. And there
- 24:23Speaker 1: was another seventeen thousand dollars for the National Alliance and
- 24:25Speaker 1: Mental Illness, and there were at least three more fundraisers
- 24:30Speaker 1: after the series finale. And that is what inspires me
- 24:34Speaker 1: to stay in this fandom and to continue watching this
- 24:37Speaker 1: show and to reclaim it with every episode that we
- 24:40Speaker 1: record on our podcast.
- 24:41Speaker 2: That's that's fantastic. I had no idea about that. That's incredible.
- 24:47Speaker 3: It really is.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Honestly, like, I'm just so proud to be part of
- 24:50Speaker 1: that community. In those moments, sometimes I'm more like, oh
- 24:52Speaker 1: my god, I don't know them, but then like this,
- 24:54Speaker 1: this makes me proud.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yes, that's so great. It's like that.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It's like that with every fandom except Free Fandom raises
- 25:01Speaker 2: one hundred thousand dollars for a good cause.
- 25:03Speaker 3: So that's amazing.
- 25:03Speaker 2: That's yes, sort those guys out, I know, Okay, before
- 25:12Speaker 2: we get to the games, let's be negative for a second.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'd like to know what's something about the fandom that
- 25:16Speaker 2: you don't like. This could be something from the universe itself,
- 25:19Speaker 2: or the surrounding fandom, or the fans who or what
- 25:23Speaker 2: is the John Winchester of this franchise, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Other than John Winchester. Other than John Winchester.
- 25:33Speaker 5: I do think for me it would be it would
- 25:36Speaker 5: be kind of the jerking round of representation, like because
- 25:39Speaker 5: there's very few women there is, it's just white people,
- 25:47Speaker 5: and they wanted to make Dean not straight. They decided
- 25:52Speaker 5: against that, so that would probably be the only thing. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 5: they're all Lord of the Rings did was make elves
- 26:01Speaker 5: have short hair and people freaked out. Yeah, and like
- 26:06Speaker 5: they've done a lot of harm.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, there's kind of like a there's a justified anger
- 26:11Speaker 2: versus a not justified ankle that and not justified anchor
- 26:14Speaker 2: seemed to be really vitriolic and like a lot, so
- 26:17Speaker 2: you can you.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Can justified anger exact that exactly.
- 26:21Speaker 2: And Drew, is there anything that you'd like to soapbox
- 26:23Speaker 2: about something that's you found negative about Supernatural?
- 26:26Speaker 6: I just have to say it comes down to some
- 26:28Speaker 6: of the incredibly lazy writing around the monsters of the week,
- 26:33Speaker 6: like just from taking a creature from another culture, doing
- 26:37Speaker 6: virtually no research and just making things up or skewing
- 26:42Speaker 6: it completely to tell your story. It's like, this is
- 26:45Speaker 6: a world of make believe. Make up a monster, don't
- 26:48Speaker 6: steal someone else's culture.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Yes, so true, And the big thing is the story
- 26:56Speaker 5: between the brothers, and so like you could have made
- 26:59Speaker 5: up you could have made up a monster too, because
- 27:02Speaker 5: the thing that we're in it for is like the
- 27:04Speaker 5: human relationship between these two people or the whatever relationships
- 27:08Speaker 5: between whatever people I know, demons and like that.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Bars.
- 27:16Speaker 2: But you never know that could have been some hardcore
- 27:17Speaker 2: cryptid people out there who were like, oh, but they're
- 27:19Speaker 2: making things up. This thing isn't real as though they
- 27:22Speaker 2: are old fictional.
- 27:24Speaker 3: That's a huge as a Cryptos't make offense to that.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, And Jason, is this something that you don't like
- 27:31Speaker 2: about the Supernatural?
- 27:32Speaker 3: Find him? It was the very first time I went
- 27:34Speaker 3: fuck this show I was watching.
- 27:37Speaker 4: I was watching Supernatural and it was really dramatic. It
- 27:40Speaker 4: was like it actually had me like like tugging on
- 27:42Speaker 4: my art strings. And I was very involved in it,
- 27:44Speaker 4: and I don't remember what season it is. You may
- 27:47Speaker 4: or may not have seen it yet, so I apologize.
- 27:49Speaker 4: But it's a moment where I think Dean Jensen Ackles
- 27:52Speaker 4: really does a great monologue. And at the end of
- 27:55Speaker 4: the monologue, he tells Sammy, if you walk out that door,
- 28:00Speaker 4: don't ever come back, is what he says. And then
- 28:02Speaker 4: Sammy walks out the door, and I think that was
- 28:04Speaker 4: the end of a season, and then the new season
- 28:06Speaker 4: starts because I'm binging on Netflix and it's like car
- 28:10Speaker 4: and it's like show Man, the episodic kabile reversus the
- 28:17Speaker 4: streaming era. So it's like all the natural fans will
- 28:20Speaker 4: have had to have waited like four, five, six months
- 28:22Speaker 4: for that for that moment, I guess.
- 28:24Speaker 3: But Netflix just queued you up with the next episode. Yeah.
- 28:27Speaker 5: They were just made in different eras, I guess, for
- 28:29Speaker 5: different viewing styles, and it didn't that's fair.
- 28:31Speaker 2: The Netflix should put in like a black screen that says, Okay,
- 28:34Speaker 2: you're this episode is locked for four months.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Go outside for the love of God, Wait, touch some grass.
- 28:47Speaker 3: There you go.
- 28:48Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking about, Like, oh no, and Marie,
- 28:52Speaker 2: what about yourself? Is there something about the fandom you
- 28:54Speaker 2: don't like.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yes, definitely, there's a few things. But I think actually
- 29:00Speaker 1: what I dislike the most, I guess kind of like
- 29:04Speaker 1: rejoins what Oudro is saying, because you can tell because
- 29:07Speaker 1: the show was made over fifteen seasons, and you know,
- 29:10Speaker 1: with I think it was over four different showrunners and
- 29:16Speaker 1: the huge writing team, with the execs, the studios, the producers,
- 29:22Speaker 1: like there were just a lot of people that were
- 29:24Speaker 1: involved in the creative process, and it feels sometimes like
- 29:27Speaker 1: there were It doesn't feel we know that there were
- 29:30Speaker 1: some factions within that creative team of people who wanted
- 29:34Speaker 1: certain things for the characters and others who didn't. Some
- 29:38Speaker 1: people in the creative team that saw Dani's bisexual and
- 29:42Speaker 1: others who did not and did not want to invest
- 29:44Speaker 1: any time in it. And you know, like that that's
- 29:48Speaker 1: reflected in the show, Like you can feel that when
- 29:50Speaker 1: you're watching it. It feels sometimes kind of like what
- 29:52Speaker 1: Jason was saying. You know, sometimes you have like some
- 29:55Speaker 1: a very very dramatic moment, and then the following episode
- 29:58Speaker 1: you're going to get something that feels like a comic show,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and you're like, but that's and that's kind of fun
- 30:03Speaker 1: when you're watching it week to week, but when you're
- 30:05Speaker 1: binging it, it just feels very out of place. Yeah,
- 30:09Speaker 1: and then that, you know, that feeling is sort of
- 30:12Speaker 1: reflected in the fandom where you have a very fragmented
- 30:15Speaker 1: fandom because of it, so much so that like there's
- 30:20Speaker 1: definitely a good portion of the fandom who would never
- 30:22Speaker 1: listen to our podcast because we talk about Dean as
- 30:26Speaker 1: being a bisexual character. You know. Yeah, absolutely, Like we
- 30:31Speaker 1: have gotten some very nasty comments from people saying that
- 30:34Speaker 1: we were being extremely disrespectful for this. Oh yeah, absolutely,
- 30:39Speaker 1: it's it's been a it's been exactly how dare you
- 30:44Speaker 1: see yourself represented in media?
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah, they're allowed to have their opinion, they're not allowed
- 30:51Speaker 5: to make somebody else feel bad.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Well, there you go exactly, Like start your own podcast,
- 30:55Speaker 1: you know, like talk about whatever you want to talk about.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like listeners you have.
- 31:00Speaker 6: Yes, it's relatively easy to start your own podcast. We've
- 31:03Speaker 6: done it. Yeah, Yeah, and there you go.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Headcamps and I didn't know anything about podcasting before this.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how you do it. That's how you make
- 31:12Speaker 4: your own story.
- 31:13Speaker 6: And if you fail at making a podcast, try it
- 31:15Speaker 6: three more times. In the fourth time, it'll step. There's
- 31:19Speaker 6: literally nothing you can lose making podcast.
- 31:21Speaker 3: I'll be honest.
- 31:22Speaker 5: The first one we tried to do was Lost. We
- 31:24Speaker 5: were watching Lost. I was the trool of that show
- 31:28Speaker 5: where Matt loved Loss. Audre has watched it once and
- 31:32Speaker 5: I went in every single time going, is that a
- 31:35Speaker 5: Is that a pig monster on this island?
- 31:39Speaker 3: Is that?
- 31:40Speaker 6: That is how you started every episode? Yeah, Drew had
- 31:43Speaker 6: seen the sun. Oh okay, so you are that's true.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going and blink, going, oh my god,
- 31:48Speaker 4: look at Daniel Dick Kim, He's so hot now. And
- 31:51Speaker 4: then my god, and then monster. I mean it's a
- 31:54Speaker 4: very valid point, one undred percent. Oh my God, my hero,
- 31:56Speaker 4: and God's willing.
- 31:58Speaker 2: We will get to the lost episode of Gates Leapers
- 32:00Speaker 2: in twenty twenty four. Okay, it's time to blast some
- 32:05Speaker 2: seventies rock and drive down that dark highway into round one.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Our first round is called Monster of the Geek. Supernatural
- 32:18Speaker 2: is known for its Monster of the Weak style adventures
- 32:20Speaker 2: with unique villains and even more unique ways to kill them.
- 32:24Speaker 2: But with over three hundred weeks to look back on,
- 32:26Speaker 2: how many monster killing methods do our teams remember?
- 32:30Speaker 3: In this game?
- 32:31Speaker 2: I will simply give our teams the name of a
- 32:33Speaker 2: type of supernatural creature. All our teams have to do
- 32:37Speaker 2: is say how you would slay slash kill it. That's
- 32:40Speaker 2: according to Hunter Slash Winchester Lord, not the actual culture
- 32:44Speaker 2: that that creature is from.
- 32:46Speaker 3: In the shadow, how would you kill it?
- 32:49Speaker 4: Shoved salt up its ass time? That's my answer, salt Ring.
- 32:55Speaker 4: It's it's bound to work for one of them. Yeah,
- 32:59Speaker 4: in the else that's what I remember.
- 33:02Speaker 6: I never thought my studying of cryptids and other mythological
- 33:05Speaker 6: creatures were actually a hindrance.
- 33:07Speaker 2: You can, we'll go back and forth between the teams.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You can discuss openly as a pair to arrive at
- 33:12Speaker 2: your answer, and yeah, just say it to slay it.
- 33:15Speaker 2: That's the simple premise of this round. So begin with
- 33:18Speaker 2: Team one, which is the Dean Beans, saying that for
- 33:22Speaker 2: the first time within the context of the game.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Hello, Dean Beans, it makes me giggle every time. You're
- 33:29Speaker 3: gonna have a constant giggle.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Good, And I won't edit out a single one of them.
- 33:36Speaker 2: So your first creature is vampires.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Oh, this is the one I know.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Okay, but this is one of those ones where I
- 33:43Speaker 6: feel like they definitely change it for the show, but
- 33:47Speaker 6: I it's decapitations because the staking is a thing that
- 33:51Speaker 6: they disprove, but decapitation still works.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I think it's like a dramatic thing of like they try.
- 33:57Speaker 5: So let's go with decapitation a putation. Yeah, remove thine head.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I like it.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I like it when I did like that because it
- 34:05Speaker 2: is the correct answer. It's removed thine head. That's why everything.
- 34:10Speaker 2: We also learned that if you inject them with dead
- 34:12Speaker 2: man's blood, it will put them into a catatonic and
- 34:15Speaker 2: weakened state.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Correct.
- 34:19Speaker 6: I recall when that episode title come up, I was
- 34:21Speaker 6: very like, what is this episode going to be about?
- 34:25Speaker 6: They're going to fight some dead guy's blood. That's a
- 34:27Speaker 6: weird monster. Doesn't UV lights sting them. It doesn't kill them.
- 34:30Speaker 6: But I remember the Winterresses having like UV lights on
- 34:32Speaker 6: their weapons.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Is that not a thing?
- 34:34Speaker 4: Am I thinking of? Blade? I'm sorry?
- 34:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 34:38Speaker 6: God damn it? All right, tweet at us. I know
- 34:42Speaker 6: Thirty Days of Night they definitely do that.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, Sammy Whammys, Yes, Sammy Whammy's good team name,
- 34:48Speaker 2: good team name than you. Your first creature is shape shifter.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I don't know Okay, it's got to do with silver,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and I know so I know that silver hurts them.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think silver bullets work as well as a silver
- 35:11Speaker 1: knife to the heart. I would tend to say silver. Yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 1: silver to the.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Heart, silver to the heart.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yes, it's it's silver to the hot and bullets or knife,
- 35:22Speaker 2: and you said both, so that's definitely a point.
- 35:25Speaker 6: Yes, although I feel like silver bullet would kill most
- 35:28Speaker 6: things regardless.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yes, Drew, you're being too logical. This is supernatural. Okay, supernatural.
- 35:35Speaker 1: We're here to have a good time, exactly. Leave logic
- 35:40Speaker 1: at the door.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yes, please.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Pardon me, it'll it already helped with some of these
- 35:47Speaker 2: questions if you leave logic at the top. Okay, Dean Beans,
- 35:52Speaker 2: here's your second monster a when dingo, I just remember
- 35:57Speaker 2: that these were on the show when you say it
- 36:00Speaker 2: just gasping and reacting to things that Okay.
- 36:03Speaker 6: So here for the ride man, so Wehendego is definitely
- 36:06Speaker 6: one of those creatures I kind of harped on earlier
- 36:08Speaker 6: where they really messed up the lore. So I'm now
- 36:11Speaker 6: trying to remember which lore is real, which laur is
- 36:13Speaker 6: show lor.
- 36:14Speaker 5: I know that there's a lot of mind shafts in
- 36:17Speaker 5: the in that one, like they explode things if I
- 36:21Speaker 5: remember correctly.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Oh, yes, because it doesn't like lighter fire. Yeah? Is it?
- 36:28Speaker 3: Is it fire?
- 36:29Speaker 1: Do they try to set it on fire?
- 36:30Speaker 6: I think I think it's I think that's setting it
- 36:32Speaker 6: on fire or like burning it or something that's.
- 36:34Speaker 1: The closest guess I'm gonna get.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Okay, let's just say burn it.
- 36:38Speaker 4: It's wild that Matt who has the answers in Marie,
- 36:41Speaker 4: have the exact same face via zoom, like I probably
- 36:46Speaker 4: never read, never read the Really glad I'm on our team.
- 36:49Speaker 4: I'm proud to be a Samy Wamby because I'm just
- 36:51Speaker 4: like Jason Dean Bean say kill it with fire? Kill
- 36:57Speaker 4: it with fire? Is correct? You absolutely do.
- 37:00Speaker 2: That's a point there. Oh, this is three for three.
- 37:03Speaker 2: It's just no matter who wins this competition. Surrounded by nerds,
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's great.
- 37:08Speaker 6: And if one of us gets attacked by a mythical creature,
- 37:11Speaker 6: we'll most likely know how to say exactly.
- 37:13Speaker 1: If we're in the supernatural universe.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yes, God's willing, Okay, Sammy Whammy's here is your second creature?
- 37:22Speaker 3: A rakshasa.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Can you say the creature name again?
- 37:27Speaker 3: Please?
- 37:28Speaker 2: A Rakshasa. I mean I might be pronounced r a
- 37:32Speaker 2: k s h a s a.
- 37:36Speaker 6: I would in a sentence how do you kill as
- 37:42Speaker 6: in how do you kill a Rakshasa? Oh no, I'm
- 37:45Speaker 6: being chased by a rock.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Sam. Do you help me?
- 37:52Speaker 1: There's a okay, first all, Jason, do you do you
- 37:58Speaker 1: know what a rock shasta is?
- 38:00Speaker 5: No?
- 38:01Speaker 3: I don't remember this.
- 38:02Speaker 4: I remember there was a period of time in the
- 38:04Speaker 4: show where they do go deep for the for the
- 38:07Speaker 4: monster's like a gin and all this other stuff. Rakshasa
- 38:11Speaker 4: does not jar the mind. I don't remember that at all.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Doesn't jaw your mind? No, I mean do you want
- 38:18Speaker 3: to just shoot in the dark? Is that your answer?
- 38:26Speaker 3: If lights are on, it doesn't work.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we're okay with that answer, honestly. But why don't
- 38:33Speaker 1: you try the salt rim.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so happy to throw out that answer.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Just yeah, just shoot at it in the dark with salt.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Salt, shoot at in the dark with the salt ram. Yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 2: it's not that I'm afraid.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Damn. How is it to kill this shape shifting Hindu creature? Oh?
- 38:54Speaker 2: This is you need to stab the Rakshasa with a
- 38:59Speaker 2: brass knife.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Oh, No, this isn't the one that I thought it
- 39:02Speaker 5: must be. I thought this was the one you stopped
- 39:05Speaker 5: believing in. I shouldn't say anything in case that's one
- 39:09Speaker 5: of the things.
- 39:10Speaker 1: That's what I thought too. Actually, I was like, is
- 39:13Speaker 1: that the thing?
- 39:14Speaker 5: But I'm sorry if that's one of your questions.
- 39:19Speaker 3: It's the clown. It was the clown guy in the circus.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Yes, oh my god, you're so right.
- 39:25Speaker 6: Where they say to use pure brass, you know a
- 39:28Speaker 6: metal that you have to take two things to mix
- 39:29Speaker 6: together to make an alloy.
- 39:31Speaker 3: You're supposed to use a pure brass. Yeah, that was funny.
- 39:34Speaker 3: What what did we say about logic? Sorry? Sorry you logic?
- 39:42Speaker 2: Okay, Dean beans, I love saying that's so much fun.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Your next creature is a streaker. A streaker, I remember
- 39:54Speaker 2: what it is. I remember the episode we see it.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Just described to me some of the episode and maybe
- 40:02Speaker 5: it will jog my.
- 40:03Speaker 6: It's the one with all the flashbacks because John hunted
- 40:06Speaker 6: it and couldn't kill it because it almost killed Sam
- 40:09Speaker 6: as a little baby.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Oh gosh, you have to do you have to shoot
- 40:13Speaker 5: it while it's feeding.
- 40:15Speaker 6: Yes, yes, god, I was gonna make a joke of
- 40:20Speaker 6: the way you defeat a strega is by putting clothes
- 40:23Speaker 6: on it during the halftime like a streak ICoD Oh wow, wow,
- 40:31Speaker 6: I did one of my things.
- 40:33Speaker 5: I don't know what you do. You shoot it with salt?
- 40:39Speaker 6: I mean definitely the shootings. I remember that they give
- 40:42Speaker 6: a kid a gun. They're like a six year old kid,
- 40:44Speaker 6: hide in bed and take this rifle and shoot it. Yeah,
- 40:48Speaker 6: so shoot wall feeding.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yes, Okay.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna have to decide how cruel I'm going
- 40:52Speaker 2: to be because you definitely got the trickier half of that,
- 40:55Speaker 2: which was kill it while it's feeding, but it's not shooting.
- 41:01Speaker 2: You've got to pierce them with concentrated iron. Whoa, but
- 41:05Speaker 2: what I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna do a very
- 41:08Speaker 2: rare Gates Leapers half point because they did get the
- 41:11Speaker 2: more difficult thing. And this this could matter if it
- 41:14Speaker 2: if it's tied at the end, the half point could matter.
- 41:16Speaker 2: But I'm going to go with the half point. I
- 41:18Speaker 2: think I feel like that's fair.
- 41:21Speaker 4: It was very impressive that Ad just like had a
- 41:23Speaker 4: core memory of that and pulled it out.
- 41:25Speaker 5: It's one of the for some reason, that's one of
- 41:28Speaker 5: the episodes that sticks with me.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Wow, I didn't remember the iron but you got the
- 41:35Speaker 2: difficult bout though, So a half point for sure. Sammy whammys,
- 41:39Speaker 2: Sammy whammys or Sammy whammy? Is it plural plural works?
- 41:42Speaker 2: Plural works, Sammy wammys. It's I just quite like saying.
- 41:45Speaker 3: It like that.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Alternatively, you can call Sammy megs a whammy. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:51Speaker 4: that's the full name.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Did he.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Did? He?
- 41:56Speaker 3: I was gonna whisper it.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Wanted to use whammy as a verb as a different
- 42:02Speaker 4: I'll probably lie. Uh, he really made a whammy At
- 42:06Speaker 4: the beginning of some season. What you this is ane?
- 42:10Speaker 4: I watched Supernatural and became a demon and I was like,
- 42:13Speaker 4: sam is so innocent and became a demon and he
- 42:15Speaker 4: was sexing some lady and he was super buff. All
- 42:17Speaker 4: of a sudden, he was like jacked and he was
- 42:18Speaker 4: like ripping into this lady and I was like, oh
- 42:20Speaker 4: my god, what.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Is this show?
- 42:22Speaker 3: I think he marries her in real life?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he definitely does. After that, you would, wouldn't you?
- 42:31Speaker 2: You just you just saved the bit. Nice, Okay, your
- 42:36Speaker 2: your next creature? Oh yes, yeah, sorry, we'll play for
- 42:39Speaker 2: the Sammi whammies is a gin?
- 42:41Speaker 3: Oh my god, you remember the gin?
- 42:45Speaker 6: Do you remember how you It was vaguely like South
- 42:49Speaker 6: Asian slash Middle Eastern, and it was a genie.
- 42:52Speaker 3: A gin is a genie. A gin is a genie.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Can you say that again? Can you say it again?
- 43:02Speaker 6: And and.
- 43:05Speaker 4: Jesus Christ, dude, I don't remember you have Maybe there's
- 43:07Speaker 4: a night is it is it is a knife? Is
- 43:10Speaker 4: it a class knife? Because it's sand because they're racist?
- 43:13Speaker 6: Because it.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Is that a little excessive?
- 43:17Speaker 4: I swear to God that's the right answer, though, Like actually.
- 43:21Speaker 1: So so the gin actually keep their prey in dreams, right, Also,
- 43:27Speaker 1: let me do this, Yeah, you.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Express your soul.
- 43:32Speaker 6: So I kind of figured let's just get it out,
- 43:34Speaker 6: like we'll just I was gonna tell Matt that was
- 43:37Speaker 6: like cut it with class, all right, go ahead, Mary,
- 43:39Speaker 6: please tell me the right She's like, So.
- 43:44Speaker 1: It's it's kind of what I do with Drew, like
- 43:46Speaker 1: when we do a broadcast, like just go ahead, go ahead,
- 43:50Speaker 1: and then I'll come in. But the thing is, though
- 43:52Speaker 1: I don't actually remember how you're supposed to kill them,
- 43:55Speaker 1: because I remember that so obviously, like I know that
- 43:59Speaker 1: they're they're they keep their their prey in in a dream.
- 44:03Speaker 1: But I honestly can't remember how you're supposed to kill them.
- 44:05Speaker 1: And the worst part is we've discussed this on the podcast.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Oh you have Oh my god, that's terrible.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, I know. I'm very embarrassed.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Do you remember class at all, because that's what I'm doing.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I don't remember class.
- 44:20Speaker 3: God, it's probably not glass.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Then remember it's Lamb's blood. It's something. It's it's a
- 44:26Speaker 1: steak dipped in Lamb's No, it's a silver knife dipped
- 44:30Speaker 1: in Lamb's blood.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Happy to go with it, Captain. Yeah, it's a good job.
- 44:38Speaker 3: He's said. That's spot on. It's a silver knife dipped
- 44:40Speaker 3: in lines lives blood exactly.
- 44:42Speaker 6: I can't believe you pulled that out of nowhere, just
- 44:46Speaker 6: saying words. Dude, did you see what I did? I mean,
- 44:48Speaker 6: I didn't get the right answer. Oh, fantastic. Just I
- 44:56Speaker 6: love this deep knowledge that's just coming out from everyone.
- 44:59Speaker 6: It's just it's great. Jason didn't know I had some
- 45:04Speaker 6: of this. I'm enjoying Jason's made up knowledge. Its sounds
- 45:11Speaker 6: just as good the confidence. And I'm throwing out right
- 45:14Speaker 6: now too. It's kind of bold.
- 45:17Speaker 3: I don't know. I think it's the line I believe you.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Okay, Dean Beans, here is your final creature, Okami and Okami.
- 45:28Speaker 3: It's a great video game.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Side note, I was gonna say, I know the game,
- 45:32Speaker 6: and you play as a really cool wolf spirit. So
- 45:35Speaker 6: I'm guessing it's not that we haven't gotten to that
- 45:40Speaker 6: episode yet, so I haven't seen it yet, so I'm
- 45:42Speaker 6: really relying on you.
- 45:43Speaker 3: For this one.
- 45:44Speaker 5: Oh No, if it is a wolf spirit, I might
- 45:50Speaker 5: try to just oh, but they didn't go with the
- 45:55Speaker 5: same vampire lore, so I don't know if they'd go
- 45:58Speaker 5: for were wolf lore for fit is wolf.
- 46:01Speaker 6: I think this might be one of those like really weird,
- 46:03Speaker 6: let's pull something out. Yeah, definitely something Asian, So it's
- 46:07Speaker 6: gonna be something really like incredibly bizarre in Eastern theme.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I was waiting for the end of I think vague
- 46:18Speaker 3: racism in the monsters, just kind of thing it's last
- 46:24Speaker 3: night as that they gave time to in their thoughts.
- 46:33Speaker 5: God, I was just gonna say, steak to the heart,
- 46:36Speaker 5: like a wooden steak to the heart.
- 46:37Speaker 6: You know what, you you had a you you were
- 46:40Speaker 6: Jason already friend who said it? Somebody said before just
- 46:42Speaker 6: stop believing in it. And I feel like that's a
- 46:44Speaker 6: really good answer, just to like, if we're gonna take
- 46:47Speaker 6: a wild swing.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I don't believe in it anymore.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I no longer believe in He'll call me it's gone.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Don't don't believe it anymore.
- 46:56Speaker 2: I guess you kind of should have followed the cultural
- 46:59Speaker 2: appropriation of how to kill it. I guess because the
- 47:03Speaker 2: correct answer is stab seven times with a bamboo dagger
- 47:07Speaker 2: that has specifically been blessed by a Shinto priest Jesus Christ.
- 47:12Speaker 4: That's even stupider because in Japanese culture, four is the
- 47:16Speaker 4: bad number. Anyways, that's fine. Also, bamboo dagger could very
- 47:20Speaker 4: well be chop six. I'm just gonna say that, not far.
- 47:24Speaker 1: It's very close.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I hate how anyone could write for Supernatural. That's
- 47:33Speaker 3: why I'm learning you I vague racist. It was vaguely read.
- 47:37Speaker 4: I was.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Okay, Sammy wammis, here is your final monster? A raw head,
- 47:47Speaker 2: raw head or a raw head? Oh no, no, I
- 47:51Speaker 2: don't even remember this. No, I don't remember this either, Matt.
- 47:54Speaker 3: What season is this monster in?
- 47:56Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 47:57Speaker 2: I believe it's it's one to it's early, and I
- 48:01Speaker 2: went with for the last two each. I went with
- 48:03Speaker 2: really deep cuts, as in, they're not the man featured boss.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Is it like it's like the cold open the I
- 48:10Speaker 2: went with deeper cuts for your final two questions.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Oh, I remember.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Electrocution.
- 48:18Speaker 6: Oh my god, Electrication is spot on. Oh my god,
- 48:22Speaker 6: that's my favorite episode. It's the intro to faith.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Wow. I knew it would be.
- 48:29Speaker 6: Oh heck, yes, that's crazy. I remember researching raw Heads
- 48:34Speaker 6: at some point being like, what a stupid thing? Yeah,
- 48:36Speaker 6: even use it?
- 48:38Speaker 5: What is it?
- 48:38Speaker 1: It's a monster basically that well as would happen in Supernatural.
- 48:43Speaker 1: It's a monster that prays on children. Oh yeah, and
- 48:47Speaker 1: that's the episode where Dean finds kids in a closet
- 48:51Speaker 1: saves them from the monster that's about to go kill
- 48:54Speaker 1: them in the closet.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Oh, it's I also liked on the Phantom wikis page
- 49:00Speaker 2: said rawhead brackets moldy humanoid. I like that as a description.
- 49:07Speaker 2: I might start using it as an insult, molded ld. Okay,
- 49:14Speaker 2: that's the end of round one. Let's head over to
- 49:16Speaker 2: Harvill's Roadhouse to see if they have the latest scoop
- 49:19Speaker 2: on the scores, and they do, And those scores are
- 49:23Speaker 2: the Dean beans are on two and a half points,
- 49:25Speaker 2: but the Sammi Wammi's are on three points. Yes, okay, teams,
- 49:30Speaker 2: grab your herbs, chalk and candles to see if we
- 49:33Speaker 2: can summon round two. Round two is called fan court.
- 49:42Speaker 2: In this round, our teams will be asked to not
- 49:45Speaker 2: hold onto their opinions too tightly. I will make a
- 49:48Speaker 2: statement relating to the supernatural fandom. One team must defend
- 49:53Speaker 2: the statement, and the other team must prosecute it. It's
- 49:56Speaker 2: just like real court, except very, very silly and somehow
- 49:59Speaker 2: even more unfair. Ut points will be points will be
- 50:04Speaker 2: awarded for fandom accuracy, sticking to your case and making
- 50:07Speaker 2: us all laugh by using courtroom like terminology. Because that
- 50:11Speaker 2: makes me laugh, uhender could have.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Been like.
- 50:18Speaker 3: That would have been an instant bonus point, like immediately
- 50:22Speaker 3: looking around like I have them. Each team will.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Get one chance to choose their side of the argument,
- 50:30Speaker 2: and then for the third statement, I will roll a
- 50:32Speaker 2: D twenty to decide which team gets to pick a side.
- 50:35Speaker 2: For the final statements, that one will be completely random.
- 50:38Speaker 2: So let's begin with the first statement, and it will
- 50:41Speaker 2: be the dean beans who get to decide whether they
- 50:43Speaker 2: want to support this or prosecute it. John and Mary
- 50:47Speaker 2: Winchester were quite good parents. Actually, I think we have
- 50:53Speaker 2: to proceed.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah, damn it.
- 50:58Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, Yeah, we got them.
- 51:03Speaker 2: So John and Mary Winchester were quite good parents. Actually,
- 51:07Speaker 2: why isn't that true?
- 51:10Speaker 5: Well, John Winchester took his children on hunting trips and
- 51:14Speaker 5: put them in dangerous situations.
- 51:16Speaker 6: That's not great. I mean, I don't think anyone could
- 51:21Speaker 6: argue with that. That That sounds like you're sullying the
- 51:25Speaker 6: argument of your opponents. Put stick to your case, please conjecture.
- 51:31Speaker 6: That's the way I look.
- 51:36Speaker 5: So a lot of dangerous situations that they were in,
- 51:39Speaker 5: not super stable, traveling around all over here and there,
- 51:46Speaker 5: So not a great uh upbringing for the boys.
- 51:53Speaker 6: Very valid, Okay, I'm trying to go legal to speak here. Yes,
- 51:56Speaker 6: if it pleases the court, your honor pleases. I am
- 52:03Speaker 6: here to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt they
- 52:04Speaker 6: were awful parents. I will admit I don't have much
- 52:08Speaker 6: to go on for Mary really because I haven't really
- 52:10Speaker 6: met her in the show yet heard much about her.
- 52:12Speaker 3: But John is bad enough for the both of them.
- 52:15Speaker 3: John has in.
- 52:17Speaker 6: Literally only being like shown in like a few scenes
- 52:21Speaker 6: here and there and being talked about. All he has
- 52:23Speaker 6: done is traumatize these kids, train them to be awful,
- 52:27Speaker 6: teach them all the worst lessons in the guise of
- 52:30Speaker 6: good things, basically gaslighting his children to make them see
- 52:34Speaker 6: him as a hero when he is an absolute villain.
- 52:38Speaker 6: He has made it abundantly clear that while his you know,
- 52:43Speaker 6: end goal I say with air quotes, might be just
- 52:46Speaker 6: in getting revenge and killing the demon that took their mother,
- 52:48Speaker 6: he's basically dragging these children's childhood life and mental health
- 52:53Speaker 6: through the mud and pitting them against each other almost
- 52:56Speaker 6: and traumatizing them beyond possible belief for what he things
- 53:00Speaker 6: is a greater good doesn't work. Case closed, more legal jumbo,
- 53:06Speaker 6: I can't think of I snapped my suspenders at the.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Good good.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Well, I'll reopen the case slightly so we can get
- 53:18Speaker 2: the other occuments. But but that was fantastic. That was
- 53:23Speaker 2: brilliant and very very valid reasons for why John and
- 53:26Speaker 2: Mary Winchester were bad parents.
- 53:28Speaker 4: But let's hit the other side of the case as
- 53:31Speaker 4: a as a team. Captain, Mary, I'm gonna let you
- 53:33Speaker 4: go first, because no, no, no, no, no, no, you
- 53:37Speaker 4: don't know what's coming. Oh you've got ah, No, I
- 53:44Speaker 4: got amy for your d b night.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Mary sounded, I don't. I don't think that's I don't.
- 53:57Speaker 3: This is off the record content of cult order, order
- 54:04Speaker 3: or order sim it down as they.
- 54:06Speaker 1: Say, Well, your honor, the prosecution would have you believe
- 54:17Speaker 1: that John and Mary were terrible parents based solely on
- 54:23Speaker 1: a normal on the assumption that Sam and Dean should
- 54:27Speaker 1: have had a normal upbringing, when in fact, these boys
- 54:32Speaker 1: were born into a supernatural world and thus needed to
- 54:37Speaker 1: have a supernatural upbringing, and John, by teaching them how
- 54:42Speaker 1: to defend themselves against monsters, ensured their survival in this
- 54:49Speaker 1: cruel and difficult and bloody world that is the supernatural world.
- 54:56Speaker 3: This is really hard job.
- 55:02Speaker 1: And thank you, thank you so much. Yeah, I'll pass it.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I'll pass it to you and thus bye by me.
- 55:13Speaker 1: By ensuring their survival, they were in fact excellent parents,
- 55:17Speaker 1: because had they not done that, they would have just
- 55:22Speaker 1: let their children die. And I will pass this on to.
- 55:26Speaker 3: You absolutely absolutely.
- 55:28Speaker 4: First off, ladies and gentlemen of the court, I'd like
- 55:30Speaker 4: to you to define what is a good parent, because
- 55:32Speaker 4: we first have to define that that is a subjective.
- 55:35Speaker 4: For you've got six seconds. The other aspect. I would
- 55:39Speaker 4: bring to you the point of independency and survival skills.
- 55:44Speaker 4: If a parent cannot provide those, what has a parent
- 55:46Speaker 4: done in the wild. If a bird cannot fly, it's
- 55:50Speaker 4: ample dies. And what John and Mary have done is
- 55:53Speaker 4: prepared their birds to leave the nests and soar like.
- 55:56Speaker 3: The eagles they are.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Now what I will present to the court is the
- 56:03Speaker 4: ideas that was previously previously presented by the persecution. Prosecution. Yes,
- 56:09Speaker 4: what John Winchester did was he took his sons on
- 56:12Speaker 4: hunting trips. Didn't My dad didn't take me on a
- 56:15Speaker 4: hunting trip. He taught them skills. He taught them skills,
- 56:19Speaker 4: how to use a gun, how to use how he
- 56:23Speaker 4: taught them a cult knowledge, worldly cultural applicable in the
- 56:28Speaker 4: real world, multiculture multicultural. One might say he took them
- 56:34Speaker 4: on road trips across the US. My dad didn't take
- 56:37Speaker 4: me on trips.
- 56:37Speaker 3: You know what he did do. He took one trip.
- 56:45Speaker 6: Jokes, I know, everyone's filling it in to the gas
- 56:48Speaker 6: station for cigarettes and never came back.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Last point for the court here, I didn't have a dad.
- 56:58Speaker 2: That's definitely as a friend, I feel for you, but
- 57:01Speaker 2: also in this fictional court room.
- 57:03Speaker 3: That's that's conjecturing just a good dad.
- 57:09Speaker 6: But I will sorry your argument that John is a
- 57:11Speaker 6: better dad because he was a dad in your as well.
- 57:17Speaker 3: By comparison, they had a pretty good guys.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Okay, well, I'm I'm going to score the cases out
- 57:24Speaker 2: of three, so there's gonna be two more cases to field.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't give the same argument.
- 57:35Speaker 2: This is scored on a scale of not to three points,
- 57:37Speaker 2: and I genuinely think that the defense had a much
- 57:41Speaker 2: harder job to do that. So I'm going to give
- 57:42Speaker 2: a full three points thank you to the Sammy Wammy's,
- 57:45Speaker 2: and I'm going to give two points to the prosecution
- 57:46Speaker 2: because it was still a very good case, but not
- 57:49Speaker 2: quite the uphill battle.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you.
- 57:53Speaker 5: Yeah, there was nothing else that could have been done
- 57:55Speaker 5: there because they were born into a supernatural situation and
- 58:00Speaker 5: like later on, they have implications for the larger supernatural world.
- 58:04Speaker 3: They were going to be brought in sometime. Sat Murray,
- 58:07Speaker 3: you've convinced.
- 58:10Speaker 1: They're very sorry about that, and why John should have
- 58:14Speaker 1: raised these kids the.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Way that he did.
- 58:16Speaker 5: He could have had a book, he could have given
- 58:19Speaker 5: them books about this. They write books.
- 58:24Speaker 6: I think it's very easy to teach someone how to
- 58:25Speaker 6: do't know, hold a rifle and aim without having to
- 58:28Speaker 6: dump years of parental trauma on them and scarring them
- 58:31Speaker 6: for life.
- 58:32Speaker 2: That's absolutely. That's also true. That's also true. Absolutely, But
- 58:36Speaker 2: is it as funny?
- 58:37Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 58:40Speaker 1: Okay, fifteen seasons worth of drama comes.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Out of that. So true, that's so true. Okay.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Here is the second statement presented to the court, and
- 58:50Speaker 2: it will be the Sammi Wammies who get to decide
- 58:53Speaker 2: whether they want to prosecute this or defend this. M
- 58:56Speaker 2: the most important ship in the Supernatural fandom is Dean
- 59:01Speaker 2: and his Impala.
- 59:02Speaker 6: Oh.
- 59:03Speaker 3: I mean, I'll leave it up to you if you
- 59:05Speaker 3: have a better ship in mind. I certainly do. Really,
- 59:13Speaker 3: I mean, that is.
- 59:14Speaker 2: The easier route, Jason, that is the easier route, just
- 59:16Speaker 2: seeing really Yeah, definitely. I know that you love Dean
- 59:19Speaker 2: and you that Dean loves his cor but there is
- 59:21Speaker 2: definitely an easier route. I love for muscle cars I
- 59:23Speaker 2: think originated from the show I'm not Gonna Lie.
- 59:26Speaker 3: I Love you too much.
- 59:29Speaker 1: If we want to play it strategically, we can also argue.
- 59:32Speaker 1: We can argue for it and then try to see
- 59:36Speaker 1: if we can get the points again for having the
- 59:38Speaker 1: tougher side.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Right, but you know what, the judge knowing that change anything. No, no,
- 59:44Speaker 3: no no, if you've got the uphill battle with that,
- 59:47Speaker 3: so what points.
- 59:49Speaker 4: If you have a ship that is better than that
- 59:51Speaker 4: and you fervently believe in it, I think that argument
- 59:54Speaker 4: and the passion behind it is going to win. Even
- 59:56Speaker 4: if I said something like he's he's slept in all
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: this time, you know, and like the intimate relationship of that.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Don't use that in your that's that's copyright, but off
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: the record. So if you have a ship that you
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: wholeheartedly believe, I think we should go for it. Okay,
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: oh boy, Okay, that's the floor is yours?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Then all right, then we will we will prosecute this
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: statement as being patently false and an absolute affront to
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: the court, because the best ship on the show, as
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: we all know, and as has been discussed in the
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: press after the finale, is actually the ship of Dean
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: and Castiel. I would like to rest my case. No, seriously,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: what I'm saying is that there is no other ship.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I feel like I'm on Twitter. There
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: is no other ship in the history of TV that
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: has lasted this long as a queer ship that had
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: that slow burn movement from enemies to friends to at
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: some point enemies again. That betrayal just basically twelve years
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: of tension that resulted in this heartbreak in the final season.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: And this is unprecedented in like network television. And while
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: it was never acknowledged, it is boundary breaking in and
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: of itself that it even existed there for the fans
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: to be able to read it as such.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: We would also like to put forward, if Castille is
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: an angel when they have sex, is it called bird style?
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Thank you? And I know that you don't have very good,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: very good.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: That's a good prosecution as some good arguments for not
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: hooking up with a car.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Okay, so let's hear from the Dean beans gosh, I.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Have two separate trains of thought that I can go down.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: It's a car.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: Two separate cars of thought, nice, two separate highways I
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: can travel.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I just gotta hit the ground women with one of them.
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: Dean has had a tumultuous life, and the one constant
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: in his life has been this car. May I present
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: to the court. I have it's in a bag for
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: some reason. Zen and the art of Impala maintenance. I
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: have crossed over motorcycle. What Dean needs is a mindfulness
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: practice more than anything else. And if that's going to
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: if that's going to have the piece of art he's
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: working on come to life Pygmalion style.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: Then so be it anything to add to this case dream.
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: Yes, I must say if there is one thing that
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: is important in a relationship, and as a married man,
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: I say, the most important thing my wife can do
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: is be there to support me, be with me through anything,
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: and be the catalyst for change in my life. And
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: if the Impala has not been there for every emotional roadbump,
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: I'm looking for car punts here to even and sped
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: him through all his most emotional moments. I mean, how
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: many times Mary, have we sat together on our podcast
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: and nearly come to tears over heartbreaking emotional realizations sitting
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: in that dang car.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: I hate to say it, but that's true. No matter
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: who he.
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: May be within the moment, no matter whether it be
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: casts or any of the other mental nuts show, We've
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: clearly seen him have a relationship with them out loud.
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: At the end of the day, no matter what that
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: relationship ends with he can come back to that and Paula,
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: he can come back to baby and he is comfortable,
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: he is happy, and he is zen.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I as the judge, I'm speaking as the judge. Now,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I just need to go call my wife. I love
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: her kiss that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: That was that was moving and that was fantastic. Great
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: arguments from both sides. But I'm gonna have to do
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: the same thing but reversed. I think you had the
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: tougher upill battle with the argument. Three points to the
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Dean beans and two points to the Sammy Whammy's very fair,
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: very fairy fair.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Yeah, good judgery.
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: I I shoehorned both of my things in of Pig Maley,
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: the art that he worked on until he loved it.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: No.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Two very good references. I'm very proud of you for
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: that one. Oh and the car puns as well, so good.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: So yes, thank you. First one totally didn't totally, but
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: you never.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Know what's gonna start a pun run, what's gonna get
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: the puns a flow in? Okay, So I've got a
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: final statement for you here and I'm gonna read it
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: now and then I'm gonna I'll get Audra and Jason
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: to roll the t twenty s who rolls highest?
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: I was gonna say I had flip a coin in
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: the script originally, but cash? Who carries cash? We have
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: d twenties all over the house.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: So the statement is thus Supernatural shouldn't have ended after
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: fifteen seasons, but instead twenty five thirty five fifty, Supernatural
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: should have lasted forever. So that's the statement basically turning
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Supernatural into a soap opera.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: I guess, uh Odra turning into.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: I have.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: It's a five. Your glasses are downstairs?
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: Oh no, I'm sorry, Jason. Did you say there was
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: a thirty on a twenty sided dice? No?
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Three three three three thirty?
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: Natural thirty.
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: That's God's status critical.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: All right, I gotta be you gotta be a five? Yeah,
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: what is it? Nineteen? That's nineteen?
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: Nice?
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Okay, he's not wearing glasses. You could have lied to it.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: It's a one. It's a one. Yeah.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: So the the Sammi Wammies get to decide which side
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: of the case they would like to be on.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: I mean, as captain, I think we just got to say,
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: hell no, there's no way.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: This show.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I didn't want it to go on that's not a problem.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Fifteen seasons is way enough.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: I'm good. I'm good.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: Okay, so we are Is that a prosecution then against
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: the statement? Yes, that's that's prosecution. Okay, excellent. I'd like
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: to present some evidence, some citations to the court the
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: idea that and I'm gonna have my colleague here calling
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: me up on this because she probably has as the
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: actual stats. But correct me if I am wrong, Ladies
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: and gentlemen of the Court. Supernatural wasn't even supposed to
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: last past five seasons. Why would we even extend it
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: to twenty five or thirty if the original concept of
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: the show was stricken down into a three and reluctantly
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: added to a five though the five was the core
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: story made by the original show runner.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Is that correct?
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: That is correct?
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: That is correct? All right?
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: Said by my colleague for stated as fact, as stated
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: here in the court. And this is this is statements
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: from the creator of the show. Who is this shirt,
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: who is essentially God in the context of this show.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: And that show? Right, yeah, gets now, there is no.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Higher authority than the original thesis that originated from the creator,
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: and so to extend that outwards is not only not
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: only unnecessary ladies and ghentlemen. It is a bastardization of
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: the original concept ized. I might say, okay, okay, anything
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: to add murray.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I'm not certain that I can make a better case
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: than my colleague for this, but I will say that
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: there had been a lot of opportunities to wrap up
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: this show in previous seasons, and a lot of them
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: would have been perfectly acceptable and would probably not have
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: caused as much pain as it did in season fifteen
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: had this show continued. It is the belief of the
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: prosecution that more pain and queer baiting would have occurred,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: only to the detriment of queer fans.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: And to throw in some legal jar again, I must mitigate.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: Mitigate is to lessen the damage as much as ponsible.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Yea extend mitigation, midicul Judge, I should know what that means.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: But yes, it's a business.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Law, one on one, and there is scientific evidence behind
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: that in terms of harm reduction. So thank you for
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: bringing that to the attention of the court.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: That is a very strong case. But can the defense
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: make a stronger one? Let's find out.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Oh, I think I think we can. Yes, please do.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: I think we need to look at the show against
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: its contemporaries, which, as was mentioned earlier in the show
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: by somebody, is something called super Who lock Ah. Yes, yeah,
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: I think it's important to look at the contemporaries. In
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: this case, Doctor Who, a show that has gone on
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: an infinite amount of time and will never stop apparently,
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: and we'll keep going, and fans like myself of that show,
- 1:09:45Speaker 6: we'll keep coming back. We'll keep going back to the
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: old content, We'll keep looking for references the old and
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: the new. And a show that can never stop and
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: will never need to stop, versus Sherlock, a show that
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: I can say for a fact, my opponent here is
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: desperately wishing there were more episodes of because it ended
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: too soon despite reaching its natural conclusion.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: So they said, I just wish the last season didn't exist.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: That's all. But that is that is my next part
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: of my argument.
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: I think Supernatural, if it were to continue, would just
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: allow us to grow and get better. You would slowly
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: but surely phase out the brothers and bring in new
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: hunters that they trained themselves. The more opportunity for queer characters,
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: more opportunity for representation, more opportunity for female characters, getting
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: more than a season of dialogue, and not just.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: To always be turning into demons. Oh it's a female character.
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: Hoop, she was a demon or dying suddenly with very
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: little fanfair.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Bella, I agree.
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: I think that a lot of our a lot of
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: the prosecutions. Uh, yes, that's the way this goes. Secution's
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: argument was based on authorial authorityorial intent.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: It didn't sound right when I said it. It's like
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: when you write a word.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Says it quite frequently.
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: It's like when you write a word and you're like,
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: that's not how that's spelled. But a lot of it
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: is predicated on that. But as we've mentioned archive of
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: our own, there is a ton the There is more
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: written by fans about Supernatural than ever was even suggested
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: in a writer's room. We've got content for day millennia.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: Time will end, Supernatural will not. That's I tell what
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: for the difference between two and three points. If you
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: can very quickly name who Sam and Dean should regenerate
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: into as a as actors, I will I will tack
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: on and increase your skull if you can.
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: If you can say what Jack should play Sam, I
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: feel like Tom Holland would totally make a great sam.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Oh that's a good and.
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: Just adorable kind of like not always there, a little
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: bit lost, but really smart and adorable.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: Another white male.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Can the prosecution ask a question, yes, yeah, approach the bench,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: thank you, your honor. If there is already content for
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: millennia to come that come from fans, why do we
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: need more show from the creators.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: To make that fan content into the show. But do
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: we have evidence that they do that.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Though a lot of a lot of things that are
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: out there.
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: Oh god, the general prefacing, the general thing is this
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: is all nonsense.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Everything he said, it's.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: Fair bring and I don't even like they use the
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: word elevate to like bring a lot of that to
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: more of the masses, you know, in the visual consumption.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Because I've read some fan fix.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: My roommate had some bound like as a book and
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: it was a two volume novel and a lot of
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: people are not going to.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Sit down and read that. But there's some great stories there.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: That could be brought to the masses.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: I'm hearing a restore the Snyder cut kind of argument from.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: The I've definitely heard.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: I've heard some things from each each side that I love,
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: and some things that I don't love so much. So
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: I think I'm just going to give two points to
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: each team and call it.
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I just need to finish and say that my
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: Dean would be Zendaya just but come on, she'd be
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: an amazing team ship.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Can we just not have a couple as Salmon Dean? Like,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: can we just not?
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Yeah, let's not do that. Okay, let's oh no, they're
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: both gay, so they can't be with each other. Yeah.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: Oh, but I was gonna say, we can swap out
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: Tom Holland for the kid that plays Gideon in Righteous Gemstones.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: He's a very similar vibe.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: And we will need the Righteous Gemstones episode of gate
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Leapers in twenty twenty seven.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that means nothing to anyone. I'm so sorry.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: I will give you credits India as as Dean is
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: one of the greatest castings that's ever happened.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: I absolutely agree with that.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: Yeah, her MJ character, I need to see that. I
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: haven't seen eupho it yet, but her MJ character is
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: good levels of Dean.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: Damn.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: We could have mediated this one. We didn't need the court.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: This is great, This is wonderful.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Yeaeah, Yeah, it's it's almost like we don't need these
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: corrupt legal systems to cover actually weird people.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Would. We are the worst examples of soap boxing myself.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: That okay, that's the end of the round.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Let's write some numbers in our own blood to see
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: if we can summon the scores. And though scores are
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: the Dean Beans are on nine and a half points
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: and the Sammy Whammys are on ten points, still very.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Close half a point difference. We're hanging in there.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Okay, teams, let's use the cult as a key to
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: open the gates of round three.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Round three.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: These transitions, thanks, I work on them longer than I
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: would like to. Round three is called rough and Tumblr.
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: For this round, I have gone back in time and
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: found Tumblr text posts from the last decade. That's right,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: it's a that the website is over a decade old.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: We're old. I will read these genuine text posts, usernames
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: changed for anonymity, and our teams must then simply decide
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: if the post is referring to Sam, Dean or Castiel.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: So we'll go back and forth between the teams. Five
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: text posts for each team, three possible answers. I will
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: leave the names blank. You just fill in the name.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: So it's kind of guessing how the fandom talks about
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: certain characters, and it could be how they talked about
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: them in twenty thirteen.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's going to be the challenge for me. So
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: we'll start with the Dean beans.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Every time someone says Blank is a whiny bitch in
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: his own tag, I hit the ignore button poof no
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: More reasons for morons on my feed and that's from
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Sabbath Day six x six.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: I feel like, of the three, if one of them
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: was going to be called a whiny bitch, it would
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: probably be sick.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that I was thinking. And Ultra was that on.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: Did I find this one on your tumbler? Maybe? Oh no,
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: I would have never.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: Well, I'm hoping one of these is yours if you
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: found Oh my god, we'll find out, dude.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: It's the last question.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: So I think, Sam, that's my understanding of how people
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: felt about Sam.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: Okay, you're going with Sam. Yes, that's a point.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: It's correct who Sammy Whammy's ninety five percent of the
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: problems on Spin could have been solved if they just
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: let Blank use his grenade launcher.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: I mean that is like Dean has a grenade launcher, right,
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: I don't know if he does, but he must. Yes,
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: I mean if one of them is gonna happen, right.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Yes, that's it. That's from US Wednesday sunsets. Again.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: I've made all of these up. I just want to
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: read them because I wrote them. Oh, okay, so you
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: go you're going with Dean. Yes, yes, that is correct.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: It is Dean and his grenade law.
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Although I now need to see Castil with a grand
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: I was thinking of the characters. It'd be funniest if
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Castill at a grenade.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: Launch Yes, but it's writing team.
- 1:17:55Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: When we do season sixteen through twenty three, I bring
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: back Charlie. I really enjoyed Charlie. Anyways. Okay, Dean Beans.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Your next tumbler comment is I love how Blank is
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: one of the scariest and strongest characters out there, and
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: yet he still cries from time to time. This further
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: proves that crying is not a sign of weakness. That's
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: from Sherlock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: I feel like it could be deaner cast but the
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: scary line makes me think cash. Yeah, because like angels
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: with so much power and the whole Like, just seeing
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: his true phase will burn your eyeballs out. Yeah, that's
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: pretty scary. I'm gonna just you know, on a scale
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: of one to scary, it burned my eyeballs out. As
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: a ten, i'd be terrified. Yeah, yes, same. I think
- 1:18:48Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with so I'm gonna agree with you, Castila.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Castil, and it's not it's Dean so sorry so much.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Yeah that.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Cast doesn't cry, he's scary. How is the only thing
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: that I remember seeing I could have thought about this.
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: The only thing that I remember him crying in is
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: I think it's a French escape, but it's where he's
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: like as Misha Collins, just crying in a car.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: Yes, there you go. I don't know why I feel
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: like I've seen cast cry on TikTok.
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: You have.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: But that's a whole other thing.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Okay, Sammy Wamy's here's your next tumbler comments screaming, crying,
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: throwing up that no one ever told Blank they loved him?
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Is that is that Cassiel? Does no one tell cast
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: because they they ship on Castiel?
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: Kind of a lot? You really do?
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: And that's that's actually something that is still said to
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: this day. And the fandom unfortunately.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Okay, okay, so this one is Cass, go with Cass. Yeah,
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: it is Cass, It is Castiel.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting to see that that hasn't changed since
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: twenty thirteen.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that one might have been from like twenty sixteen,
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: twenty seventeen. But okay, okay, yeah, these are these are
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: definitely over time. It's kind of someone someone tell him that.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: He's loved dming him now Collins.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Okay, Dean Beans, my child is fine. No, your child
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: is alone, imagining Blank listening to true crime podcasts and
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: wishing he was a part of them.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: We we literally had an episode of the podget we
- 1:20:36Speaker 6: talked about Sam being so into true crime shows.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: That was from a Doctor who Let the Dogs Out.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: Okay, I was thinking a similar thing, Like Lil Sam
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: would would be a podcast kid if the eras were
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: lined up.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: Oh he would. He would totally.
- 1:20:55Speaker 6: Like in the season thirty six, he is just listening
- 1:20:58Speaker 6: to like every schlock podcast about like a criminal.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: I just want to murderer that lawyer episode, that's God
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: or that that that round. It's gone. You don't have
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: to keep doing.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: On board for the four of us writing the next season,
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: because every time you talk it goes all right in
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: season thirty six, what we're gonna do season forty eight,
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: that's say for season forty eight.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got the powers commission.
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: So.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: Like the number is keep growing, and I'm like, oh
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: my god, I only have so many years left on
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: this earth, and you're gonna every single one supernatural?
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: Yes, yes, yes, let's do it. I think I'm gonna
- 1:21:43Speaker 5: agree and say Sammy going with Sammy.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: It is Sammy. That's a pint who lovely stuff.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: Okay, next question four, Sammy Wammy's when referring to early Blank,
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: we call him baby Blank Capache.
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: Is this Sam too, because he's very boyish in the beginning,
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: he's in he's literally in college at the beginning.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: He's a baby, he really is.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I mean he is the youngest one.
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: Yeah, and I mean Dean does look young in the beginning,
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: but that's literally just due to the effects of time,
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: Like that's how time works. But Sam is the youngest
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: how time works. Yeah, thank you, Drew.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for her minding up. Yeah, you appreciate it.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: Yeah, it does seem weird to say Sam twice in
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: a row, but I'm inclined to say Sam, I'm gonna
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: go with you on that one. Actually, Okay, okay, can
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: we say Sam. You can say Sam and you would
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: be right it is.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I would have gone on what you
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: were going to say there.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: Yeah, right, because baby Dean baby Dean, like fourth comes
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: out easier than baby Sam baby Dean.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: I feel like we refer to them both as baby
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: Sam and baby Dean on the show.
- 1:22:49Speaker 6: So often everyone is a baby yeah, just the actors,
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: like twelve thirteen years younger.
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: Yeah, next one for the Dean bean.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: I don't know who needs to hear this, but if
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: you hate Blank, then you might be Blank.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: That's from lou Dy Judy. I mean, I have a
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: I have a theory that that's each that that's but
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: Sam and Dean.
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: But I feel like we so often discuss how much
- 1:23:19Speaker 6: Dean hates himself. Oh, just the level of self loathing there.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Yeah, God, if you hate Dean, you might be Dean.
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: Yeah, that's I want that red as like a redneck joke.
- 1:23:31Speaker 6: If you hate Dean, you might be a Dean. Yes,
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: I think we're going with.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Dean, and you're right to go with Dean. That's a point, right,
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: there's a good one.
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: I also cast because I feel like cast has a
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: lot of self loathing because isn't he cast out? And
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: he's he questions a lot why God doesn't love him,
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: or why God chose him or something.
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: I mean, any angel on earth that feels that feels appropriate. Okay, Okay,
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: I was in heaven and now I'm here. Yeah, I
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: felt like I felt like a lot of castes. And
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: I'm sorry if this is spoiling it for YouTube, but
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: I felt.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Like I was trying to be thinly veiled condition and
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: like how we would feel.
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: I'm also like remembering out loud sometimes and I'm like,
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: oh my god, I remember more about the show than
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: I thought.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Sorry. Anyways, it sticks with you, it really does.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: I think it's because it speaks to like something, to
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: some stuff that's like very like deep wounds kind of thing,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: you know, Like it speaks to a lot of like
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: very big feelings.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: Absolutely, I wish my dad took me on hunting trips
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: and anyways, it came up and cult.
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I was really scared of the dark. No one
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: would tell me there wasn't a street guy.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: I just had to run from wearwolf. I know how
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: to kill them.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: Okay, Sammy Whammy's here is your next Tumbler comments. I think,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: like I have such like weakness for Blank because he's
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: seems like a sweet, submissive, lost little puppy, and then
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: later on he seems like he'd throw me over a table.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: Let's forget Sam. I literally said, what happened? Is this
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: from my like.
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: He took a demon girl that's like four to eleven
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: and he literally chucked her across the room. And I was,
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: I was traumatized. For if this isn't Sam, I'm gonna
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: be upset.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Would you like to consult your teammates?
- 1:25:26Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah, Jason forgot. I was there first. He's having
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: flashtas season like one to two. Sam is uber simp
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: season like three to four. Sam is like Daddy, He's
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: like Zaddy. It's it's wild the transition. You're right, I agree?
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: I agree, Yeah, I agree, And I think, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: let's go with Sam.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Yeah okay, And you're right to go with Sam. You
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: agree with tumbleing U said gay blues trash uh to
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: get this? Yeah, I didn't even need to finish the comment,
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: which was I d u K, I d u K,
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: just like that classic tumbler denial thing if I said
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: something on Maine and then you just like it off
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: with like but it's okay, it's okay. But yeah, it's Sam.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: That's definitely a point that Dean Beans supernat.
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: One of us.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: Yes, Dean Beans, here is your final tumbler comment. Blank
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: deserves a hot bubble bath and a massage and some
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: little Choky's and a glass of wine and a book
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: to read as he relaxes.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: That's from Ship of the Week. Hmm. I could see
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: this being Dean or cast unfortunately.
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think you're right. I don't think Sam.
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: I do feel I feel cast Yeah, I feel like
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: I'm leaning cast to the energy. It's like the Yeah,
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: it's the like the poor thing needs a break. These
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: two like just destroy him. He needs he needs a break.
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: Break, breaky break, just like the Chuckies puppies. Well, you're
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: going with castile? Yes, yes? Should you have gone with castile?
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: That's the question. Only you can tell us this.
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: That's true, that's true, and you should have done it's correct.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: That's that's a point. It's castle the final comment, and
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: it's the toughest one because the question reblog to give
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Blank a hug.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: All of them.
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: I was going to say, is this a trick question?
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Is this a trick question? Would you ever reveal if
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: it was a trick question?
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: You know me, I might put a trick question in
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: the quick fire around, but I'm not gonna I don't
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: think i'd put an out and out quick trick question.
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: Who do you think needs a hug? I feel like
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: Castile is hugging a lot of people but does not
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: get hooks back.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: But so does Dean?
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Or does Dean hug people? I don't know.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: No, Dean gets hugged, but Dean doesn't go in for hugs.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: All that often.
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: Okay, so he doesn't need a hug because he gets hugs.
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: He doesn't give hugs. He gets hugs he needs.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: He gets hugs because he needs hugs. I'm not on
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: this tage.
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: This could be all.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Can we ask for you to reread the statement.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: Reblog to give Blank a hug?
- 1:28:30Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: Man, I'm going to lean towards Dean or Cass. I
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: don't know how you feel about.
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: It doesn't matter about Sam doesn't need a hug. He's
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: tossing women across the room. Sama.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Okay, So here's the thing, because I know that the
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Phantom tends to talk about Dean as being very touch starved,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: so maybe Dean. But then I also feel like this
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: is something that cast girls would say, so I don't know.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I'm really hesitating between either of them.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna pull the trigger. Yeah, I'm gonna say, Cass.
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: You've pulled the trigger on casts because I feel like
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: his name hasn't been dropped as much.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: Okay, let's the game going statistics. I like it, and
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: you were right to do. So it's cast who needs
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: a hug. That's a tough question. Amazing gosh.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I don't think I would have gone with Cass because
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: we just said Cass.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'll be honest.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: So it's like it's like a double bluff. Yeah, I'll
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: be honest. I forgot about that.
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: I I was.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I forgot everything your instinct and you just went for
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: it and look where it got us.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: So thank you for that got you a lovely silver
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: shiny point. Oh thank you.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Okay, teams, let's see if Lucifer Mark Pellagree knows the scores.
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: To face Wood play for you.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: The Dean Beans are on thirteen and a half points,
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: but the Sammy wammis are in the lead with fifteen
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: points extended.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: We're still in it. Yeah no, yeah, still reach.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Okay, teams, we've just got the quick fire around left.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: But before the quick fire around, let's talk prizes. As always,
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: the Star Prize is the concept of pride. Pride is
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: for life, not just a badge that billion dollar companies
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: wear whenever it increases their profits. But our winning team
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: will also receive a meet and greet with Jared and Jensen.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: But it's the fictional Jared and Jensen from season six,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: episode fifteen, and we can't access that reality.
- 1:30:41Speaker 6: So I'm sorry, guys, you don't get this. I do
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: remember that episode, so sorry, that's locked in my brain.
- 1:30:47Speaker 6: Fun home, have a context for that episode.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: When you get there. Yeh boom, that's gonna be hilarious.
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: This exact moment in what like three four or five months.
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: Fun fact, if I got to choose a second muse.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: Jensen Accles is a huge DC fan and I fucking
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: love it. Like he's he's like an above average fan.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: He's played red Hood in a Batman movie, and then
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: he's taking it a step further on his personal Instagram.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: He costplays himself like he buys all the costplays. He's
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: a rich person, but he like he goes full on
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: out and he's campaigning to play Batman and like an
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: animated thing or something like that.
- 1:31:27Speaker 6: He has.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: He has Batman, Actually.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: He has, he has. Oh I only knew already.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: It was like a dream of his and he was
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: really really happy and talked about it on social media.
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's even better. Yeah, he's a super fan.
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: And like the idea of even though you're a celebrity,
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: but you're still a super fan.
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: Is very cool to me.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you know, because yeah, you have the connections,
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: but you still dream like a little kid.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: Yeah. That such a shame. You won't actually get to
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: meet him if you went.
- 1:31:55Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: Teams, let's face off fias and leap into the ceiling
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: fire that is the quick fire around. Our final quick
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: fire around is called the Shipping Forecast. Supernatural is one
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: of several fandoms that pioneered shipping in the popular lexicon. However,
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: this final round won't test your supernatural knowledge and more
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: your ability to smash pop culture names together to make
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: an interesting sounding portmanteau. I'm going to refer to two
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: people or characters and teams must buzz in by yelling
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: out their team name, or you can just yell Dean
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: or Sam that'll that'll do, right.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: You don't have to I.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Dean Bean or Sammy Wammy, either of and then give
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: me the ship name for those characters. I will take
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: any answer that shows that you know who the two
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: characters are, so don't worry if you don't have the
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: same answer. But it always makes a real word, like
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: a word that actually exists. But if you if you
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: give me a nonsense word and you recognize who the
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: two characters are, that's fine as well.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: Oh okay.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: For example, if I asked Fast Blue Hedgehog and AI
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: source of information in the good place, you would.
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: Say, would that be Sonic and Janet? Thus Sonic exactly that.
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: Oh this could be fun, this could go well. I'm
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: just more excited to hear what you come up with
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: for this. I can't think of any other times.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: Some of them are tenuous, okay, promising, So let's start
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: the timer.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Chris Hemsworth's Superhero and the Orange Doctors use character.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: Sam Wamey's I think that's gonna be would that be
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: Thor and the Lorax? The yes or Oh my gosh, okay,
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: all right, oh man, the genius.
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: Okay, second one protagonist of the Horizon video game series
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: and Hugh Lauri's Dr Gregory Dean Bean.
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: Yes, I know both of them, but I can't think
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: of the portmanteau. Say it? Can we discuss it aloud
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: and see what happens.
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: It's it's Alloy is the protagonist with Verizon, and then
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: it's Gregory House.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: I'll be honest.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: The beautiful Canadian accent is kind of messing with the ause.
- 1:34:23Speaker 6: Or you could say it is Alehouse. Maybe that's going
- 1:34:28Speaker 6: to be a point to the Dean Beans after that
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: very tenuous thank you?
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: A cartoon protagonist and only male member of the Crystal
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: Gems and youngest Stark sister.
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: Oh fuck Dean Beans. Dean Beans. Wait, it's it's Stephen
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: is the only male member of the Crystal Gems. I
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: know that one.
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: That's an easy one. I preached that show. And the
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: youngest sister is Area Stark, so it would be Steve Varia.
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: I'll take it out. Get Stevia is what I was looking.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: I'll take the part that's nice, which I know is
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: a sweetener. But we don't have it in Canada.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Oh, I know in Canada.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: I don't think we do, do we?
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: Why wouldn't we?
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: I feel my mother in law makes enn for her
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: in the US. Huh, I don't know. Let's try from Canada.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: It's much better. Maybe. I don't know.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: I was just talking with you man. They're at the
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: Starbucks down the street Homeie.
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: Like, but it's true that we do.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: We have like sweet and low like is that the
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: same thing? Okay, there you go. It's not the same things. Yeah,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: You guys don't know what sweet and low is. I
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: don't know what it is.
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: I mean it's a sweetener. It's an artificial sweetener. But
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: I don't know it's from.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: Yes, I know what, Mayor you owe me a coffee.
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: We'll go to Star Wars, will set this base. That
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: makes sense.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: Okay, let's do that sugar based episode of Gatelypers. We'll
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: be in the twenty fifties for you sugar fans out there. Okay,
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: young ring bearing hobbit and member of T'Challa's bodyguard played
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: by Florence Cusumba.
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: It's okay, what did you say? God damn it? If
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: it's Bill Bow and so it's Bill.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: Do you know what it's not that, I'll read it
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: again for it, young ring bearing hobbit and member of
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: T'Challa's bodyguard.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: Okay, so it's fro Do. I've got fro Yo here
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: a a oh not leader of the dorm llage.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: Yes, but you know what, I am going to give
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: you a point because you managed to navigate some of
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: the tricky stuff that. Okay, let's hit. Let's see how
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: the rest of this round goes. I've got eight more questions. Yes,
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: the villain, No, this is terrible.
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: My my pop culture knowledge is so low. This is awful.
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: The villain from The Lion King and the Prince of
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: Denmark from the play The Lion King follows. What the Okay,
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: I've never I think we all have the first one
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: I've never heard of this play Dean Bean. Yes, Scarlet,
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: it is Scarlet. Yes, scar and Hamlet.
- 1:37:28Speaker 7: Oh, oh my god, that's good vocal Yeah wow, which Wow,
- 1:37:38Speaker 7: it's not Macbeth.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: It's not Nickbeth, the vocal half of magician, double act
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: and cartoon character who.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: Is a menace. Oh my god. Means I think we've
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: got Sammy Wammy's first Pennis. Yeah, it's so funny. No,
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: I've given that one to they.
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: Because I was trying to make it tell like the
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: vocal tell oh, ironically, tell her is the non vocal
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: part of it.
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: That's why they named themselves that maybe.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: Yes, okay, Blue and Purple Pixar monster and legendary Latin
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: American jazz rock fusion guitarist.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: I know them both, but I don't know how to
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: put them together. Well take it, so it's Sully Santana,
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: Sultana Sultana.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: That's a word.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: This is very challenging.
- 1:38:41Speaker 6: I just love impressed by this, so do I and
- 1:38:46Speaker 6: random pop comt nonsense.
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: I'm just like, I gotta figure this all right.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: Well, the more nonsense fictional ghosts from the Mario series
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: and the patriarch of the Simpsons.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: Means, yeah, that would be Boomer. Okay, that's yes, yes
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: it is, it's I got it. I got it like
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: two seconds after God damn it.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: Sex in the City's Bradshaw and Constellation Hunter with a belt.
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: Sam, Yes, you've got Carrie and Oriyan so.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: Yeah, carry on my.
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: Way with.
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: As soon as you said carry I was like, wait,
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: the other ones are right, it's no show. The one
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: that I got.
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: Oh my god, beautiful close. You guys did really good
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: in that round. Still three more questions, Oh, yes, more questions.
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: It's not over, Jason. That's usually how it's like.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: I'm good, I'm done.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: I don't blame him first sorry, first generation fire Starter
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: Pokemon and Emperor's New Groove antagonist.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: Dean Beans.
- 1:40:07Speaker 6: Yes, oh my god, I'm blanking on her name, the
- 1:40:09Speaker 6: villain from us New Groove, so it would be charmenderisma.
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: I'll take it. I'll take it. It's good. I'd had
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: like charisma, like charisma. It's this one. You warned it
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: somewhere tenuous, but with all this charisma you're exuding, it
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: works so well. Damn it. Okay, this this next one's tricky.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: It's a it's a polyamorous throttle between a scruffy looking
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: nerf Herder, a green muppet, and John one one seven.
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: Dean Beans because I know all three of them gone
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: Hans Solo, Kermit the Frog, and Master Chief which makes handkerchief. Wow.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: Oh this is I'm impressed with myself. I am Oh
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: my god, this is insane and quick. Before the buzzer,
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: Jason and the mascot for Cheetos, Sammy Lamy's yes, is
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: it Chester Cheetos?
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: It's it's not. Do you want to take another guess?
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: That's only two. It's a trick question, but like I
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: don't get what the trick question.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: I'll be honest. It's just for trick is Oh you Jason,
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: I'm thinking for.
- 1:41:32Speaker 5: Hi.
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: So you're saying Jason, Jason Chowster Cheeto. Oh my goodness,
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: your stage name on here, it's new Winchester.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Oh my actual last name. Fuck, that's my bad Winchester.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: Oh ship you are. That's the buzzy Winchester. I want
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: to be him. I want to me Supernatural.
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: Season and two. Oh my god, I'm just trying to
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: pick a number that's far away and I got forty
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: something last time, one hundred after forty something.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: Math before we get to the final scores and they

- 1:44:05Speaker 5: learn some things, get drunk.
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: And teach them to Yeah.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like drunk history for the full curriculum. Yes, okay,
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: the skulls. It's tense, it's close, but it's also not
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: because I had fun. Yeahrump, and that's the true goal.
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: Did me win?
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: The Sammy Whammys finished on nineteen points, very strong skull,
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: but the Dean Beans Yeah, they went with twenty two
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: Points final round, Ye bluesll.
- 1:44:41Speaker 5: I would like a bonus episode where it's just word
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: play round between.
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: Me and yeah, me and oh man, I just.
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: You know, I just sat there. I was like, it
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: was just very like this was lovely for me to
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: witness for. Is there a wordplay fandom?
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: I get? If there is, I should join it. If
- 1:45:07Speaker 6: there isn't, starting it, Yes, it starts here.
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: I would like to say that it starts here was
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: spelled h e R because this is an audio medium.
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: Yeah, yo, word play good stuff. We have been gate leapers.

- 1:45:39Speaker 2: I'm sure they'll love that. We'll be back next time
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: when I'll call my own son a simp. But until then,
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: I leave you with this timeless supernatural quote. Driver picks
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: the music, shotgun shuts his cake. Cole and those riding
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: in the back seat are probably not going to survive
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: this episode.
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: That's pretty boris.
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: I love it.
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: This has been a lily pad production.
