- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes eight twenty one and eight twenty two,
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Chateau in Turmoil, Loofy to the Rendezvous and deciding
- 0:21Speaker 1: to say goodbye Soanjy and his straw hat Bento. In
- 0:29Speaker 1: these episodes, Loofy, as soon as he finds out that
- 0:36Speaker 1: Sonjy knows about pudding, is like, all right, my work
- 0:42Speaker 1: here is done. I shall return to the place that
- 0:45Speaker 1: I told him I would be. And honestly, I kind
- 0:48Speaker 1: of love this about Loofy. Man. He's just he's a
- 0:52Speaker 1: man with a plan and he just doesn't waver from
- 0:55Speaker 1: it except when he absolutely does nothing but waiver from it.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:20Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:25Speaker 1: this episode. And Florian is here in the chat with me. Yay,
- 1:29Speaker 1: good to see if Florian. So yeah, these two episodes
- 1:34Speaker 1: were kind of just sort of wrapping up the the
- 1:41Speaker 1: I don't want to say like the arcs that we
- 1:44Speaker 1: got started, because they're absolutely not wrapped up, but it
- 1:47Speaker 1: feels like we are starting to reach a point where
- 1:50Speaker 1: everybody is separately coming to a plot point where now
- 1:58Speaker 1: we are probably going to begin reuni some of them
- 2:00Speaker 1: with each other a little bit more steadily, and we
- 2:03Speaker 1: do get some of that here with rescuing Pedro and Nami.
- 2:10Speaker 1: There's just like, I'm always a fan when we start
- 2:15Speaker 1: to get to this part where everybody is catching up
- 2:18Speaker 1: with one another, working together, finding out what the other
- 2:23Speaker 1: like has been through or whatever new information they may have,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and it just it makes me happy to see any
- 2:32Speaker 1: time that folks get to work together more, you know
- 2:34Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So ooh, Bernadette is here as well.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Sorry Berndand I didn't even see her name there, but yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I was running late, and apparently so was everybody else,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so I don't feel too bad about it, So that's good.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So all right, let's start with the first of these
- 2:47Speaker 1: two episodes, eight twenty one, The Chateau in Turmoil, Loofy
- 2:52Speaker 1: to the Rendezvous. I just want to say for the
- 2:55Speaker 1: record that Tomago is a a rooster man. Now at
- 3:02Speaker 1: this point, I am very, very very compelled by Baron Tomago.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I don't know why. It's not like we haven't had
- 3:17Speaker 1: like weirdo characters before. I think that what has kind
- 3:22Speaker 1: of gotten me about him is just how unexpected this is.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We have had all kinds of characters with very weird
- 3:29Speaker 1: and bizarre looks that wound up having powers that were
- 3:34Speaker 1: kind of mid You know, if there's one thing I've
- 3:38Speaker 1: learned in one piece, it is that your costume is
- 3:45Speaker 1: not an indicator of how important you were going to
- 3:49Speaker 1: be or how cool your power is. It's just unrelated.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It's difficult for me to keep it in mind all
- 3:56Speaker 1: the time, but it like it has proven over and
- 3:59Speaker 1: over again to be the case. And the Baron has
- 4:03Speaker 1: just been around enough as his weird, little egg shaped
- 4:08Speaker 1: self with a little teacup on top, and I really
- 4:13Speaker 1: thought he was doing what Like I thought he was
- 4:21Speaker 1: already performing the function in the story that we needed
- 4:24Speaker 1: and that was going to be kind of it. He
- 4:26Speaker 1: has seemed much more this whole time, like a ambassador
- 4:33Speaker 1: diplomatic type, you know. He isn't ever really seeming like
- 4:38Speaker 1: the guy who's a great fighter or somebody who has
- 4:43Speaker 1: much hidden up his sleeve. And I think part of
- 4:46Speaker 1: it is the fact that, like our side characters that
- 4:54Speaker 1: have been around, there's no like talking about him in
- 4:58Speaker 1: hushed voices or hinting or anything like that, because this
- 5:03Speaker 1: is a fairly frequent thing in this show that you'll
- 5:07Speaker 1: hear in undertones from other kind of side characters or
- 5:13Speaker 1: henchmen or whatever. They will say something that it doesn't
- 5:17Speaker 1: exactly give away what somebody's ability is, but it lets
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know they are not somebody to fuck with and
- 5:24Speaker 1: they've got something up their sleeve. There's been no real
- 5:28Speaker 1: feeling like that for me about this guy. So the
- 5:33Speaker 1: fact that this like egg thing where he could just
- 5:36Speaker 1: turn into another creature after getting cut in half, and
- 5:40Speaker 1: that every time he turns into a new thing, he's
- 5:44Speaker 1: like more badass and tougher somehow, this being kind of
- 5:51Speaker 1: a complete surprise. I don't know if Pedro was aware
- 5:55Speaker 1: of this. I get the impression he isn't. I don't
- 6:03Speaker 1: know if that's true or not. So correct me, guys,
- 6:06Speaker 1: if you know that, like Pedro already had this information
- 6:09Speaker 1: somehow because they faced off before. He may be aware,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but I felt like he was just as surprised as
- 6:16Speaker 1: we were. But anyway, oh my god, sorry. Uh. Florian
- 6:23Speaker 1: has the list of Astrawhat's favorite foods in the comments,
- 6:26Speaker 1: which I absolutely will be reading later once we get
- 6:30Speaker 1: to it. Bernadette says One Piece is the poster child
- 6:33Speaker 1: for not judging a book by its cover. Yet definitely
- 6:38Speaker 1: it's you know, and I shared with you guys my
- 6:42Speaker 1: disappointment at Big Mom's costume because it just feels so
- 6:46Speaker 1: basic compared to what I was sort of hoping to see.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And I stand by that in general, especially considering the
- 6:54Speaker 1: theming of these islands being all food based. The fact
- 6:57Speaker 1: that there's really no food mode teeth in her clothing
- 7:01Speaker 1: at all is just kind of puzzling to me. But
- 7:05Speaker 1: I will say that I enjoy on a certain level
- 7:08Speaker 1: that she has such a basic look to her and
- 7:11Speaker 1: is so powerful, because there is something surprising and unassuming
- 7:16Speaker 1: about that. So anyway, the way that Pedro has handled
- 7:23Speaker 1: this thing, you know, last episode, when he pulls out
- 7:26Speaker 1: all this dynamite, I was mystified because I'm like, there's
- 7:31Speaker 1: no way he doesn't get killed by this. How would
- 7:34Speaker 1: that even work? And it turns out that there was
- 7:39Speaker 1: a mirror behind him and Chopper and Carrot were like
- 7:44Speaker 1: yelling at him through it, so he knew they were
- 7:46Speaker 1: there and was able to do this thing with the
- 7:50Speaker 1: dynamite and then leap away into the mirror to escape
- 7:53Speaker 1: the blast. Which is a really fun development. I will
- 7:56Speaker 1: be honest too, that, like, my brain kept getting kind
- 8:00Speaker 1: of twisted up because the design of the room. Excuse me,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I have the hiccups. The design of the room itself.
- 8:15Speaker 1: There is a shade of like blue paint with clouds
- 8:22Speaker 1: on it that kept tricking me into thinking we were outside,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and it was like I knew that we weren't. I
- 8:30Speaker 1: kept seeing bits of furniture and whatever. I knew that
- 8:34Speaker 1: we weren't, but I kept sort of losing track of that,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and it was a weird sensation of realizing that there
- 8:45Speaker 1: are mirrors hanging on the wall when the whole thing
- 8:48Speaker 1: looks like we are actually outdoors already, which I don't know.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Maybe that was the intent of designing the room this way,
- 8:54Speaker 1: but I don't think necessarily that that's true. So anyhow,
- 9:02Speaker 1: Pedro is he does not know that this is like
- 9:05Speaker 1: a thing that they can do that the mirror world,
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know. Eventually he's just like, oh, a mirror world. Well,
- 9:13Speaker 1: today has been real fucking weird, so I guess this
- 9:17Speaker 1: makes sense. Sure, let's just throw another fucking weird thing
- 9:20Speaker 1: on the list. And Chopper says, what's cool is no
- 9:26Speaker 1: one can enter or leave without Brulai, and that means
- 9:30Speaker 1: that we're safe and we can have an easy escape later.
- 9:33Speaker 1: And I just like, as soon as Chopper says this,
- 9:36Speaker 1: of course I begin to get suspicious because that is
- 9:38Speaker 1: awfully convenient, and we're gonna have to see whether or
- 9:41Speaker 1: not this works out. I have to assume Brulet escapes somehow,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and that means that they would remain trapped in there,
- 9:49Speaker 1: or maybe she escapes, like after they they go back
- 9:55Speaker 1: into the world and they can't get back into the
- 9:58Speaker 1: mirror world, like I don't know. Chopper meanwhile, I don't
- 10:06Speaker 1: remember this, like weird the design of him. It looks
- 10:13Speaker 1: like he's got his head stuck through a tire that
- 10:17Speaker 1: is covered in fur. It's a very weird thing that
- 10:21Speaker 1: I don't recall noticing before. And it may have been there,
- 10:24Speaker 1: but it just like I said, I don't remember it,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and it's a really odd It's like a rough, almost
- 10:31Speaker 1: like a giant, very exaggerated Elizabethan rough. And it kept
- 10:37Speaker 1: confusing me when we were sort of close up on
- 10:39Speaker 1: him a little bit, because it looked like those were
- 10:42Speaker 1: his shoulders, but then when the camera pulls back out further,
- 10:46Speaker 1: his shoulders are like a whole separate thing, and the
- 10:49Speaker 1: rough itself is just sort of replacing his neck and
- 10:53Speaker 1: this is this is a weird look that I do
- 10:55Speaker 1: not care for at all. So oh, I want to
- 11:00Speaker 1: talk about Loofy, And so Loufy is just running around
- 11:06Speaker 1: the castle literally yelling for soany, making no bones about
- 11:14Speaker 1: the fact that maybe he should not advertise his own location.
- 11:20Speaker 1: That is of no interest to him right now whatsoever.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He pure is trying to warn Sony and that is
- 11:29Speaker 1: all that he cares about right now. And it's extremely
- 11:33Speaker 1: funny to me that he's got, like, there's so many
- 11:41Speaker 1: people that he winds up facing off with. He fights
- 11:46Speaker 1: a lot of folks, and later on we get a
- 11:52Speaker 1: scene where all of the top level henchmen that are
- 11:57Speaker 1: sort of directly underneath Big Mom. They are all talking
- 12:04Speaker 1: about where the straw hats are and how we're going
- 12:08Speaker 1: to deal with them and what priority different people take, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 12:14Speaker 1: and they eventually get to Nami and Loofy and it's
- 12:22Speaker 1: it said, Okay, I know for sure that the two
- 12:25Speaker 1: of them are in that book, pinned down with nowhere
- 12:30Speaker 1: to go. And then there's there's like a kind of
- 12:38Speaker 1: conversation between the cream guy is actually called Opera, which
- 12:43Speaker 1: I don't realize. I think I realized until now. There's
- 12:47Speaker 1: he does not actually have a name that goes with
- 12:50Speaker 1: a food. Really, but I maybe I'd brought this up before,
- 12:54Speaker 1: but Opera has a story. He explains that no, Me
- 13:05Speaker 1: and Loofy aren't in the book anymore because he was
- 13:11Speaker 1: torturing them to find out where I can't remember what
- 13:16Speaker 1: information it even was, that he wanted to be honest
- 13:20Speaker 1: but that things went a little too far, and that
- 13:23Speaker 1: he accidentally burned them to death. He's claiming that he
- 13:28Speaker 1: burned them up so thoroughly that nothing remains at all
- 13:34Speaker 1: of their bodies and essentially, you know, I know I overstepped,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but what's done is done. What can you do? And
- 13:46Speaker 1: the guy who does the book power I can't remember
- 13:50Speaker 1: his name, but he is like, yeah, of course, that's
- 13:55Speaker 1: definitely a real thing that happened. But later on, when
- 13:58Speaker 1: everybody is leaving, he pulls one of the chess pieces
- 14:03Speaker 1: aside and is like, you guys go ahead, and like
- 14:06Speaker 1: stay on alert overnight, please, And I couldn't help but
- 14:13Speaker 1: laugh because this dude cream, Oh prah, forgive me, but
- 14:20Speaker 1: I just think of him as cream. I what, how
- 14:27Speaker 1: do you think you're getting away with this? What do
- 14:31Speaker 1: you think you're what? You don't think that they're gonna like?
- 14:38Speaker 1: The thing here that I find so funny is that
- 14:44Speaker 1: he seems to think that Lufy and Nami got rescued
- 14:47Speaker 1: and they're simply going to leave. You have to know
- 14:56Speaker 1: that they are going to try and rescue Sanji again,
- 14:59Speaker 1: because that's the whole reason they're here, and that your
- 15:03Speaker 1: ineptitude is going to come to light. The only thing
- 15:08Speaker 1: that I could think that might have made this plan
- 15:12Speaker 1: work is if Opera were planning to leave the island
- 15:17Speaker 1: before they found out he had been full of shit
- 15:22Speaker 1: and that he was just buying himself a little time
- 15:25Speaker 1: so that he could escape. And you know, eventually, when
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's discovered that he was just incompetent and a liar,
- 15:33Speaker 1: he would be long gone and nobody would be able
- 15:35Speaker 1: to do anything about it. But now I'm like you,
- 15:40Speaker 1: just we already have at least three dozen people who
- 15:47Speaker 1: have personally seen Luphy running around, So your whole story
- 15:53Speaker 1: is just falling apart before it's even spoken. You know,
- 15:57Speaker 1: it's just really really embarrassing. Seraphim says Opera is part
- 16:05Speaker 1: of a set of quintuplets who Big Mom named after
- 16:09Speaker 1: musical terms. She must have been having a phase at
- 16:11Speaker 1: the time. That is really funny. I like the idea
- 16:15Speaker 1: of that, like, you know, having so many kids that
- 16:18Speaker 1: you'll be going through certain phases and they just sort
- 16:20Speaker 1: of represent that. And Seraphim says Mondeor is the book guy.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It's a type of French cheese. Oh okay, I don't
- 16:31Speaker 1: know that one. I am my pardon me for those
- 16:37Speaker 1: who are listening. I cut a portion of the recording
- 16:41Speaker 1: where I just stopped and nearly coughed myself to death,
- 16:45Speaker 1: And as much as I was able to stop myself
- 16:47Speaker 1: from actually dying, it's still sort of coming back around
- 16:52Speaker 1: a little bit and messing me up as I'm speaking here.
- 16:56Speaker 1: So sorry if I am clearing my throat and sounding
- 17:00Speaker 1: kind of weird, but it happens. So I just wanted
- 17:06Speaker 1: to address that whole thing because I just find it
- 17:09Speaker 1: extremely funny how pitiful this explanation is. If I were
- 17:16Speaker 1: going to be approaching it in like from the perspective
- 17:21Speaker 1: of I am going to have to be here to
- 17:22Speaker 1: face the music, I think that I would have come
- 17:26Speaker 1: up with something that like Jimbay did to overpower me,
- 17:31Speaker 1: or I would I would have some explanation as to
- 17:36Speaker 1: how they they managed to think. And there was simply
- 17:39Speaker 1: nothing I could have done to stop them, you know,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but trying to pretend they're dead is just so hilarious.
- 17:47Speaker 1: So Loofy himself, he is running down the hall yelling,
- 17:56Speaker 1: getting into different fights where he's using different you know,
- 17:59Speaker 1: gait like gears and abilities and YadA YadA. But eventually
- 18:05Speaker 1: somebody hears him. Sanji's sister, Loofy is running right past
- 18:10Speaker 1: the door of the like infirmary that she is in,
- 18:15Speaker 1: and she reaches out, grabs him and yanks him in
- 18:19Speaker 1: there and then locks the door. And all the guys
- 18:24Speaker 1: who are chasing him. It's actually kind of funny the
- 18:26Speaker 1: way this goes, because they're chasing him and they're like,
- 18:29Speaker 1: where is he? Maybe he's in here, and they like
- 18:32Speaker 1: try the handle of the door a few times, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: you hear them just like attempting to turn it. Finally
- 18:38Speaker 1: a guy and like they try and turn it for
- 18:41Speaker 1: a while before one of them finally says it's locked,
- 18:45Speaker 1: and of course they assume it was locked. When Loofy
- 18:48Speaker 1: passed as well, so he can't be in there, and
- 18:52Speaker 1: one of them yells, let's try down there, and he
- 18:56Speaker 1: says this, and all of them go yeah, like it
- 19:01Speaker 1: was just a very funny moment because they're treating a
- 19:06Speaker 1: simple statement of like let's look further down the hall
- 19:10Speaker 1: as if it's like a plan of attack and they're
- 19:12Speaker 1: really gonna get him. And I'm like, that's not the
- 19:14Speaker 1: appropriate response to somebody just making this simple suggestion, but
- 19:19Speaker 1: either way it does not matter. So his sister is
- 19:25Speaker 1: not letting Mufy out, and of course he's irritated because,
- 19:28Speaker 1: in his opinion, he's got some important shit that he
- 19:31Speaker 1: needs to do and she's getting in his way and
- 19:34Speaker 1: she has to explain he knows about putting already. It's like,
- 19:41Speaker 1: don't worry about that, and Loofy is like, wait, he
- 19:46Speaker 1: knew this whole time, and she has to be like, no, no,
- 19:49Speaker 1: he just found out. But I think that he doesn't
- 19:53Speaker 1: really know what to do because this, the way that
- 19:58Speaker 1: they're holding everybody on the barrazier over his head is
- 20:03Speaker 1: making him really twitchy, to which Lufy inevitably is like, oh,
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'll go fight for those guys, no problem. I have
- 20:12Speaker 1: no zero issue with fighting for the guys on the
- 20:16Speaker 1: barratier and making sure that they're safe, which, of course
- 20:20Speaker 1: you don't, Lufy, nobody ever doubted you for a moment
- 20:22Speaker 1: that that is exactly the attitude that you were going
- 20:24Speaker 1: to take. We love you, but uh she is is
- 20:31Speaker 1: The main thing for Lufy is the fact that like
- 20:34Speaker 1: putting being a known quantity, that the whole idea of
- 20:40Speaker 1: her taking them by surprise isn't really gonna work because
- 20:45Speaker 1: it's a you know, the it's not even not gonna
- 20:48Speaker 1: work because it depending on the way that Sonji feels
- 20:52Speaker 1: about how this is, like how he has to handle this.
- 20:55Speaker 1: She may still be able to attempt pulling it out,
- 20:58Speaker 1: but at least Sonji is working with full information here
- 21:01Speaker 1: whatever it is that he has to do, you know,
- 21:05Speaker 1: Solufy decides, Okay, I was only here to ensure that
- 21:11Speaker 1: Soanji didn't get surprised. But if he already knows, you
- 21:16Speaker 1: know what, I'm going to go back to our rendezvous point.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I am going to hold up my end of things
- 21:24Speaker 1: from when I said I wasn't going to eat anything
- 21:28Speaker 1: until he cooked it, and we like there's a lot
- 21:33Speaker 1: of moments in these episodes of the camera zooming in
- 21:37Speaker 1: on Lufy's stomach and us hearing it gurgling and growling
- 21:41Speaker 1: because he's hungry. And it didn't even like occur to
- 21:45Speaker 1: me the fact that Sanji had made this whole little
- 21:50Speaker 1: picnic basket that he was bringing to Pudding's room. So
- 21:55Speaker 1: we get this delightful moment. Guys, I was so tickled
- 22:02Speaker 1: by this. We are seeing Sanji in the hallway and
- 22:08Speaker 1: like he left the bouquet of roses outside Pudding's room.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this is actually
- 22:18Speaker 1: going to be an issue, but it did occur to
- 22:22Speaker 1: me that that might have not really been the best
- 22:25Speaker 1: thing to do, because it seems to me that you're
- 22:29Speaker 1: letting her know that you were there. You know what
- 22:32Speaker 1: I'm saying that, like, maybe you shouldn't give any signal
- 22:38Speaker 1: that you were even outside her room because now it's
- 22:42Speaker 1: going to potentially be brought to her attention that you
- 22:45Speaker 1: know things, You know what I'm saying. I don't know
- 22:49Speaker 1: that I, like I said, I don't really think that
- 22:50Speaker 1: this is actually an issue, but it did sort of
- 22:55Speaker 1: make me go, I don't know that I would have
- 22:58Speaker 1: done that, buddy, you know, but he's still got the
- 23:02Speaker 1: basket of food, and I have been sort of thinking
- 23:06Speaker 1: to myself, like earlier once when Lufy is swearing, I'm
- 23:10Speaker 1: not going to eat anything unless you've cooked it, I
- 23:13Speaker 1: was like, but how is that even gonna work in
- 23:17Speaker 1: this story? If he's getting this hungry already forgetting that
- 23:21Speaker 1: we have food Sangy has made himself by hand already
- 23:25Speaker 1: prepared that he is carrying around with him. Excuse me.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So now we have this moment of him looking down
- 23:37Speaker 1: at all the food he made, and he's looking at
- 23:40Speaker 1: it and suddenly goes, hold on, what did I just do?
- 23:47Speaker 1: And we get a montage of all of the straw
- 23:52Speaker 1: hats on like, each of them eating their favorite food,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and we REALI that that over elaborate meal that he
- 24:03Speaker 1: made way too much of in order to uh, you know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: treat we thought to treat putting like we thought he
- 24:12Speaker 1: was just overdoing it because he was so excited to
- 24:15Speaker 1: cook for her. But now it's looking like it was
- 24:20Speaker 1: just him and muscle memory essentially, and that he made
- 24:26Speaker 1: everybody's favorite foods without even thinking about it, just on
- 24:34Speaker 1: on reflex. I cannot tell you how much I've loved
- 24:41Speaker 1: this development, y'all, I really I found this like so
- 24:46Speaker 1: weirdly touching, and I think it's just because as somebody
- 24:53Speaker 1: who likes to cook for other people, I understand how
- 24:59Speaker 1: this happens. Especially if you are cooking for a particular
- 25:04Speaker 1: group all the time, you start to get to this
- 25:08Speaker 1: place where it's a it's second nature that you will
- 25:13Speaker 1: leave out certain ingredients that you know somebody doesn't like
- 25:18Speaker 1: or everybody had XYZ reaction to what you made last time,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and so you instinctively will adjust what you're making to
- 25:27Speaker 1: appeal to them, even though sometimes they're not even around
- 25:32Speaker 1: and they're not going to be eating it. I had
- 25:34Speaker 1: this a little bit myself when I first moved down
- 25:38Speaker 1: here and left my husband. He could not take like
- 25:42Speaker 1: chunks of tomato and stuff, and I would always use
- 25:48Speaker 1: an immersion blender to completely blend tomato sauce into like
- 25:53Speaker 1: a thinner consistency so that there were no chunks in it.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And I like, I went to get my immersion blender
- 25:58Speaker 1: the first time that I made pasta sauce and then
- 26:01Speaker 1: suddenly realized I didn't have to do that anymore. And
- 26:04Speaker 1: also another time where I was like thinking about how
- 26:07Speaker 1: much I missed cheesecake but my ex husband did not
- 26:13Speaker 1: like cheesecake, so I never made it. And then the
- 26:17Speaker 1: first birthday that Marshall had, he specifically requested cheesecake, and
- 26:24Speaker 1: I was just so excited because I, like, you know,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I just never made it because Brendan didn't like it.
- 26:30Speaker 1: So you get into these kind of grooves and the
- 26:33Speaker 1: idea that they're so in his mind that even when
- 26:37Speaker 1: we thought all of this was a big show for putting,
- 26:43Speaker 1: we find out no, it's not. It was actually for
- 26:50Speaker 1: the straw Hats even then in his heart. I am
- 26:55Speaker 1: so sorry, kids, but that is the best. That's the best.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I love it so so much. Ser Frumcis. I'm so
- 27:05Speaker 1: with him on that hating chunks of tomatoes thing, which
- 27:07Speaker 1: is it was like kind of a blessing and a
- 27:09Speaker 1: curse because tomatoes are like my favorite food. So on
- 27:13Speaker 1: the one hand it was annoying. But on the other hand,
- 27:15Speaker 1: if I had some really nice airloom tomatoes, I knew
- 27:17Speaker 1: they were safe, that he wouldn't touch them. So I'm
- 27:21Speaker 1: gonna look at this list that Florian put in the
- 27:24Speaker 1: Chat of Strawhat's favorite foods loofy meat on the bone.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Obviously we all know this one Zoro white rice balls?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Really zorro? The sit are? Is there something on the inside.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry about the coffin, guys, I really am. I
- 27:49Speaker 1: feel like I imagine rice balls to have fish or
- 27:53Speaker 1: bean paste or something in the center, but I actually
- 27:56Speaker 1: don't know if that's it or not. No me is turines,
- 28:01Speaker 1: which that's kind of a cheat because he doesn't have
- 28:05Speaker 1: to cook that. Those are just a thing that she likes.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Oos up Grilled pike, Now that's very specific and interesting.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Curious about that one, like what grilled pike has? Have
- 28:24Speaker 1: any of you like seen pike on a menu anywhere?
- 28:30Speaker 1: I am, I don't know that I've ever even had it,
- 28:34Speaker 1: And yeah, I don't know. I'm just uh, it's that's one.
- 28:41Speaker 1: That's one that I don't think I would ever have
- 28:44Speaker 1: been able to guess that in a million years. I
- 28:48Speaker 1: think the closest I would have gotten. If you had
- 28:50Speaker 1: been like, would he prefer sweeter savory? I think I
- 28:53Speaker 1: would have gone with savory, but I don't know. I
- 28:56Speaker 1: might have said sweet Sanji spy. I see seafood pasta
- 29:02Speaker 1: nice tony tony chopper, cotton candy, and all sweets. Definitely,
- 29:09Speaker 1: we saw what he did to that chocolate cafe. Oh
- 29:13Speaker 1: my god, I'm sorry. This is killing me, Robin. It
- 29:18Speaker 1: literally is just sandwich, now, Oda, I'm so sorry, bro,
- 29:23Speaker 1: but that is not a food. Like, that's not enough.
- 29:28Speaker 1: You can put anything between two pieces of bread and
- 29:32Speaker 1: call it a sandwich, and that doesn't mean that that's
- 29:34Speaker 1: her favorite sandwich. You gotta tell me what kind of sandwich.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Like that's bare minimum, especially when people are out here
- 29:42Speaker 1: trying to be like a hot dog is a sandwich?
- 29:44Speaker 1: A hamburger? Or is a sandwich? The possibilities for what
- 29:49Speaker 1: constance used the sandwich make the declaration that her favorite
- 29:52Speaker 1: food is a sandwich meaningless. So you better do more
- 29:56Speaker 1: than that, Frankie hamburger. Oh okay, that's specific enough, Like
- 30:03Speaker 1: I'd like a little bit more, but that's fine, brook Curry.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I'm surprised by that one. I thought Brooks was gonna
- 30:12Speaker 1: be something related to like tea, because you guys know
- 30:15Speaker 1: that we had that interstitial image where it's like a
- 30:19Speaker 1: violin leaning up against this beautiful chair with a whole teapot,
- 30:25Speaker 1: and so I thought it was going to be something
- 30:26Speaker 1: a little bit more specifically elegant and like maybe pastry
- 30:30Speaker 1: or you know, curry like, I'm not mad at it.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I fucking love a curry, but I just wouldn't have
- 30:35Speaker 1: put that jinbai. Nobody cares. But okay, mozogu seaweed in
- 30:41Speaker 1: vinegar with fruit garnish. Okay, again, he's not a straw hat.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, so whatever. Florian also reminded me that
- 30:55Speaker 1: the thing that Opera was allegedly torturing Lufy and Nami
- 31:01Speaker 1: for was to find out more about Lola and where
- 31:03Speaker 1: she is. I keep forgetting that anybody cares about Lola,
- 31:07Speaker 1: but uh, you know, let's see. Saraphim says the Zorro
- 31:13Speaker 1: liking rice ball things is a pun. His main attack
- 31:17Speaker 1: is ony geary, which, depending on how you read it,
- 31:19Speaker 1: could mean ogre slash, demon slicer or rice ball. Okay,
- 31:25Speaker 1: that's funny. Bernadette says, I think Robin's is sandwiches because
- 31:31Speaker 1: she can eat them while reading. I like that as
- 31:34Speaker 1: a theory that basically Robin's whole thing is just like
- 31:37Speaker 1: finger food. That would be you know, I was talking
- 31:41Speaker 1: about this with somebody the other day, like the difference
- 31:45Speaker 1: in the way that a lot of us perceive certain
- 31:48Speaker 1: foods and their roles because I just covered an episode
- 31:53Speaker 1: of Supernatural with Rashaan where there is something on a
- 31:58Speaker 1: diner menu called a pagan poke, and I was very
- 32:02Speaker 1: much like, what the fuck? And somebody said that it
- 32:05Speaker 1: was a uh pig in a blanket, and I like
- 32:11Speaker 1: straight up didn't believe that, because to me, a pig
- 32:15Speaker 1: and a blanket is basically a hot dog wrapped up
- 32:19Speaker 1: in like crescent dough pastry that you it's it's finger
- 32:23Speaker 1: food that you serve at, for example, a a football game,
- 32:31Speaker 1: And to me, it being either a breakfast food or
- 32:35Speaker 1: something that you would order at a sit down restaurant
- 32:37Speaker 1: makes no sense at all, Like that would just not
- 32:40Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But when I began to
- 32:45Speaker 1: think about it, I just began to realize, like how
- 32:48Speaker 1: differently we all view certain foods and their role. And
- 32:52Speaker 1: like a lot of culture's fish is a breakfast food
- 32:55Speaker 1: you have that first thing in the morning. I think
- 32:57Speaker 1: that's fantastic. I love fish for breakfast. I just love
- 33:01Speaker 1: seafood overall. I'm very savory, and it's to me, like
- 33:06Speaker 1: just one of those things that I wish the US
- 33:09Speaker 1: embraced more is various types of fish with breakfast. But
- 33:13Speaker 1: you know when people here like discover that that's the
- 33:17Speaker 1: thing in other countries, they're always sort of like what.
- 33:19Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, I was like, oh my god,
- 33:21Speaker 1: is a pig in a blanket like a breakfast food?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Am I crazy? Is it? Me? And uh, eventually finding
- 33:27Speaker 1: out from a friend that like she's trying to just
- 33:30Speaker 1: like makes those for all kinds of meals and it's
- 33:34Speaker 1: not a party food for her at all, you know,
- 33:37Speaker 1: but anyway, nobody cares. So I'm trying to like go
- 33:42Speaker 1: through some things. But I'm jumping around enough still even
- 33:45Speaker 1: though I'm doing my best to like follow the actual
- 33:50Speaker 1: unfolding plot. So we've got Nami riding on Jean Bay's
- 33:55Speaker 1: back down the halls. As he's running, I keep forgetting
- 33:58Speaker 1: just how gigantic Gene is compared to everybody else. He
- 34:03Speaker 1: is just extremely tall and broad. Soji May starts to
- 34:10Speaker 1: be like, Okay, we're really gonna need to do something
- 34:14Speaker 1: to like get rid of the guys who are chasing us,
- 34:16Speaker 1: because there are too many of them. They're beginning to
- 34:19Speaker 1: block our path. It seems like we're getting surrounded, and
- 34:23Speaker 1: Nammy is like, okay, you know what, let me let
- 34:26Speaker 1: me handle these and she pulls out her clim attacked
- 34:32Speaker 1: uh Rod and uses a lightning attack, not realizing that
- 34:42Speaker 1: Chopper has just hopped out of a mirror to try
- 34:46Speaker 1: and help her, and she's apps him. She apps him
- 34:51Speaker 1: so good. I felt so bad the way that he
- 34:57Speaker 1: just completely got like flattened by this thing. I was like, no, Choppy,
- 35:03Speaker 1: I felt so bad. He's He's on the ground with
- 35:08Speaker 1: his like mouth half open, staring bemusedly, and I was
- 35:14Speaker 1: watching it with my husband and I literally just went
- 35:17Speaker 1: all the poor baby. She just he just looks so sad,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and despite the fact that he has been like kind
- 35:28Speaker 1: of knocked out, she is able to still go through
- 35:31Speaker 1: the mirror and jimbay as well and get into the
- 35:35Speaker 1: mirror world away from everybody. So I want to jump
- 35:42Speaker 1: over to Big Mom has still got Brooke in her clutches.
- 35:49Speaker 1: It's a weird there's a weird energy here, guys. That
- 35:55Speaker 1: kind of made me be like, if Brooke were able
- 36:00Speaker 1: to fuck, which I don't think he can because he
- 36:03Speaker 1: has no flesh, but you know, I don't know, perhaps,
- 36:08Speaker 1: but if he were able to, I really think that
- 36:13Speaker 1: Big Mom would have him become part of her harem.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I really think he's There's just an energy to the
- 36:23Speaker 1: way that she reacts when she finds out that he
- 36:25Speaker 1: was able to damage one of her I think it's
- 36:29Speaker 1: prometheus that he is able to like cut deeply enough
- 36:32Speaker 1: that it's actually a problem. Prometheus is like, what the fuck?
- 36:36Speaker 1: Nobody has been able to do this before, and she
- 36:40Speaker 1: herself is going, really, they have not been able to
- 36:45Speaker 1: do that before. That is pretty impressive, okay, buddy. Like
- 36:50Speaker 1: she is gratified by it, and there was just a
- 36:53Speaker 1: vibe to me of like, I I am impressed enough
- 36:59Speaker 1: by this that I might have been interested in propagating
- 37:04Speaker 1: some children with your skills. Perhaps possibly, I don't know
- 37:11Speaker 1: if that's just me, but that's the vibe. Oh my god, Bernadette,
- 37:15Speaker 1: I am going to boot you from this chat. Bernadette
- 37:21Speaker 1: just commented, are you saying that Brooke can't have a boner?
- 37:33Speaker 1: I hate you so much? How dare you? Oh my god,
- 37:46Speaker 1: look at what you're doing. You're making me have another
- 37:49Speaker 1: coughing fit. So she's decided that, like, she's not gonna
- 37:57Speaker 1: put him in one of those books because he is
- 38:03Speaker 1: so unique and special that she wants to hold onto
- 38:07Speaker 1: him and to be able to like look at him
- 38:10Speaker 1: whenever she feels like it, and I this is just
- 38:16Speaker 1: extremely funny because it's very much giving child who won't
- 38:21Speaker 1: put down their favorite toy and takes it to bed
- 38:23Speaker 1: with them. You know, it's just there's just it's just funny, guys.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I don't know, especially because the way that she's manhandling
- 38:33Speaker 1: Brooke and just waving him around and the way that
- 38:36Speaker 1: he's animated just extremely kind of passive and like letting
- 38:42Speaker 1: it happen and just sort of allowing his head to
- 38:46Speaker 1: like bounce every which way like he is very much
- 38:51Speaker 1: just given up. I found that so funny. I really did.
- 38:58Speaker 1: It's just not what I expecting. I really didn't think
- 39:03Speaker 1: that Brooke was going to be so completely and thoroughly got.
- 39:09Speaker 1: That's I think what keeps shocking me the most is
- 39:14Speaker 1: it's one thing for him to be cornered somewhere, to
- 39:17Speaker 1: be in a position where it feels like somebody better
- 39:21Speaker 1: show up soon. You know, this is not that There
- 39:26Speaker 1: is no more literal way to say that he's in
- 39:29Speaker 1: her clutches. That is just factually what is going on here,
- 39:35Speaker 1: and it is dire. It's got me concerned, not gonna
- 39:39Speaker 1: lie so Anyway, we go back to Uh Jimby in
- 39:47Speaker 1: the mirror world and he's explaining to all of them
- 39:50Speaker 1: about the Roulette wheel, because we still hadn't gotten an
- 39:53Speaker 1: explanation about this, and he says that he looked at
- 39:56Speaker 1: it and he could only see death and evil. Pedro says,
- 40:02Speaker 1: you were wise not to spin it. Five years ago,
- 40:07Speaker 1: my partner was faced with spinning that wheel, hoping he
- 40:10Speaker 1: might be saved from Big Mom's wrath, but instead she
- 40:15Speaker 1: stole away his life. Believe me, it is designed in
- 40:19Speaker 1: such a way that whoever spins it is sure to die. Honestly,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I was not expecting that. It's almost too obvious, if
- 40:35Speaker 1: you get what I mean. I think that the thing
- 40:39Speaker 1: that I ran up against with it was just everything
- 40:44Speaker 1: from what I could see on the board on the
- 40:49Speaker 1: Roulette wheel, it did not seem like there was a
- 40:54Speaker 1: single spot that you could land on that you didn't
- 40:56Speaker 1: get something really bad happening to you. It was like
- 41:03Speaker 1: the Queen ones I assumed was her taking your life force.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Or you lose a head, or you lose an arm
- 41:10Speaker 1: or a leg, all of which are really, really terrible.
- 41:15Speaker 1: So I figured that's enough bad options that they must
- 41:19Speaker 1: be literally correct that they have to be true, and
- 41:24Speaker 1: finding out that it's like there's no possible way that
- 41:30Speaker 1: you don't get killed. It's just so extreme, you know.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I was just I am not I'm not even really
- 41:43Speaker 1: mad at it, because like, now that I think about it,
- 41:47Speaker 1: it just does make sense that it's fixed, completely fixed
- 41:50Speaker 1: from top to bottom. But I'll be honest, I just
- 41:54Speaker 1: didn't really expect that to be the case for whatever reason.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And the way that Brulet reacts I thought was sort
- 42:04Speaker 1: of interesting, where she just says, what do you freaking
- 42:08Speaker 1: idiots expect? She doesn't let people leave this place alive.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Whether you're just trespassing or you're a traitor, doesn't matter.
- 42:20Speaker 1: The people who come to her are welcome because they're
- 42:23Speaker 1: putting her themselves in her service. But if you're trying
- 42:27Speaker 1: to leave, then you're not loyal to her and she'll
- 42:30Speaker 1: kill you because that's just how she roll. And I
- 42:36Speaker 1: am kind of enjoying this development because it's just a
- 42:43Speaker 1: different I have been thinking of Big Mom. Not reasonable
- 42:50Speaker 1: is not the right word, you know what I'm saying,
- 42:53Speaker 1: But it's like there has been something that felt thoroughly
- 42:59Speaker 1: rational in some of the ways that she dealt with
- 43:02Speaker 1: people where I was sort of like, Okay, that's evil,
- 43:06Speaker 1: but I get it, Like I understand why you would
- 43:08Speaker 1: do it this way. But this is a moment where
- 43:13Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, she's got like a kind of like
- 43:20Speaker 1: a crazy girlfriend energy of like if I can't have you,
- 43:25Speaker 1: no one can kind of vibe, which adds like, obviously
- 43:31Speaker 1: this bitch is not well. Right, we can all agree
- 43:35Speaker 1: big Mom isn't okay. But there was a feeling for
- 43:41Speaker 1: me a lot of this time of she's not okay,
- 43:44Speaker 1: but if you know how to deal with her, then
- 43:48Speaker 1: maybe you can like make a thing work out. And
- 43:51Speaker 1: now I'm starting to be like, oh no, uh huh,
- 43:55Speaker 1: that's not true. You absolutely there's no dealing with this woman,
- 44:03Speaker 1: and I personally really like that. Actually, the fact that
- 44:08Speaker 1: it's a no win it puts me in a place
- 44:11Speaker 1: where I'm like, Okay, at least I know where I stand.
- 44:13Speaker 1: You know. I don't want this to be true, of course,
- 44:18Speaker 1: but I kept trying to find a way that we
- 44:21Speaker 1: could sort of like work around her insanity and fine
- 44:28Speaker 1: and alternative in a similar way is what Sanji was thinking,
- 44:33Speaker 1: where he was like, I'll just go negotiate with her
- 44:35Speaker 1: and make some kind of deal to get my friends
- 44:37Speaker 1: out of this. I was thinking in a very similar
- 44:41Speaker 1: way of like there has to be some like something
- 44:46Speaker 1: that she wants that I can appeal to, you know,
- 44:50Speaker 1: And now I'm at a place where I'm going, oh,
- 44:54Speaker 1: it's is just like there's no winning. That's not how
- 44:57Speaker 1: this is set up, which I should have realized just
- 45:00Speaker 1: the way that she's planning on handling German Kingdom, that
- 45:05Speaker 1: she's wanting to not just like get power, like access
- 45:09Speaker 1: to power through them, she wants to kill everybody and
- 45:13Speaker 1: take complete control. So it was very self evident actually
- 45:19Speaker 1: from that. But even that I think I was just
- 45:24Speaker 1: being like my judgment was clouded because I don't like
- 45:27Speaker 1: German Kingdom at all. So for me, the fact that
- 45:31Speaker 1: she's like, you know what, I'm gonna take this whole thing,
- 45:33Speaker 1: a big part of me was just like, yeah, do it,
- 45:35Speaker 1: because fuck these guys, you know, I just didn't. I
- 45:39Speaker 1: wasn't invested enough in whether they were okay to give
- 45:42Speaker 1: a fuck, and thus it wasn't really something that concerned
- 45:48Speaker 1: me or made me stop and go, maybe I should
- 45:50Speaker 1: reevaluate the way that I'm seeing this lady. It's also
- 45:57Speaker 1: you know I was. I was saying things about how
- 46:00Speaker 1: she was trying to plan this wedding and that people
- 46:04Speaker 1: better not get in her fucking way. But the truth
- 46:07Speaker 1: is she's not even really planning a wedding. She's just
- 46:11Speaker 1: planning an ambush. And the like she says something, she
- 46:19Speaker 1: goes through it. It's very funny to me because she's
- 46:22Speaker 1: holding Brooke Pudding comes in in the last episode, and
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm forgetting that Brooke doesn't know yet about her. So
- 46:32Speaker 1: she says something to her mother about like, are you
- 46:35Speaker 1: sure you want to just like hang on to this skeleton,
- 46:38Speaker 1: and Brooke is fully like this skeleton, really, that's how
- 46:42Speaker 1: you're gonna talk about me and is feeling a bit
- 46:44Speaker 1: of a way. And then she continues on about you know,
- 46:48Speaker 1: like we've got them right where we want them, YadA YadA,
- 46:52Speaker 1: and begins to like put two and two together and
- 46:56Speaker 1: suddenly going oh no. And then Big Mom describes in
- 47:08Speaker 1: searing detail exactly what she is planning to do at
- 47:15Speaker 1: the wedding, and it's like, this is her kind of
- 47:25Speaker 1: monologuing the way that I would be thinking about a
- 47:31Speaker 1: thing that I'm super excited about, you know, like take
- 47:35Speaker 1: my wedding day when I was planning it, and the
- 47:39Speaker 1: fact that you know, I could be thinking, Oh, he'll
- 47:43Speaker 1: do this, and then I'll do this and we'll have this.
- 47:46Speaker 1: But it's the sort of thing that I only do
- 47:49Speaker 1: in my head. I'm excited. I'm just thinking through all
- 47:53Speaker 1: of the stuff that I have got planned. And she's
- 47:56Speaker 1: saying it all out loud with this gusto about how
- 48:00Speaker 1: like all eyes will be on you, the blushing bride,
- 48:04Speaker 1: and then Soanji will lift your veil, probably with a
- 48:08Speaker 1: goofy grin on his face, and then she says, expecting
- 48:16Speaker 1: to see his beautiful wife to be until he sees
- 48:21Speaker 1: that you have a third eye and finally understands the
- 48:28Speaker 1: kind of horrible monster you really are. Something like that.
- 48:34Speaker 1: She is so incredibly insulting, and it's obviously bothering pudding.
- 48:44Speaker 1: To me, it seems clearly like putting is feeling hurt.
- 48:52Speaker 1: I don't even know if hurt is really the right word,
- 48:55Speaker 1: but I think it's the best word. I understand why
- 48:59Speaker 1: she's not saying anything further about it, and she's not
- 49:02Speaker 1: making an issue out of it, because like, I would
- 49:04Speaker 1: not say a goddamn thing to this woman. Are you kidding? Me,
- 49:08Speaker 1: but I was struck by the fact that she seemed
- 49:12Speaker 1: to be sitting by and listening with a great deal
- 49:18Speaker 1: of indignation and resentment. And I don't want to say
- 49:25Speaker 1: that I felt bad for her, but I was sort
- 49:29Speaker 1: of like, that's really humiliating because the way that Putting
- 49:34Speaker 1: keep's behaving is she's sort of acting as if I
- 49:41Speaker 1: have my own power here because my mother dotes on
- 49:45Speaker 1: me so much and I have this ability, and thus
- 49:50Speaker 1: I am am important somehow. But then her mother talking
- 49:56Speaker 1: about her in this way is really making you feel
- 50:00Speaker 1: like you're not a person to me either. Don't get
- 50:04Speaker 1: it twisted. You know, I don't give a fuck about you,
- 50:09Speaker 1: and I am not like I don't respect you. Don't
- 50:15Speaker 1: be ridiculous, How could I, you know, there's that sort
- 50:19Speaker 1: of vibe that is hard to watch. Even though she
- 50:27Speaker 1: deserves to be like treated poorly because she sucks, she
- 50:32Speaker 1: also like the reason that she deserves to be treated
- 50:36Speaker 1: poorly isn't about the fact that she's got a third eye.
- 50:40Speaker 1: We've got a lot of weirdos in this universe that
- 50:43Speaker 1: have a much like stranger look to them, and everybody
- 50:47Speaker 1: just fucking rolls with it. But the fact like it's
- 50:51Speaker 1: the kind of thing that's almost funny in the sense
- 50:54Speaker 1: of like when when you are in the year twenty
- 51:02Speaker 1: twenty five and every kind of fetish is catered to
- 51:11Speaker 1: on different corners of the Internet, and even things that
- 51:15Speaker 1: are meant to be for children, like comics get hyper
- 51:19Speaker 1: sexualized cartoons, et cetera, and you begin to see the
- 51:25Speaker 1: way that fully grown adults lust after women who are
- 51:32Speaker 1: aliens and have like extra arms and no hair except
- 51:40Speaker 1: for tentacles. The idea that somebody who looks like Pudding
- 51:47Speaker 1: but has a third eye would just be so repulsive
- 51:50Speaker 1: that no man could possibly want her. There is just
- 51:56Speaker 1: no way that any dude who was like into women
- 52:01Speaker 1: would have that much of an issue with this third eye,
- 52:05Speaker 1: especially in one piece world, never mind in our actual
- 52:10Speaker 1: real world. If she were walking around looking as fine
- 52:13Speaker 1: as she does normally and then was like, I have
- 52:16Speaker 1: something to tell you and it's going to be kind
- 52:17Speaker 1: of free heat, and then she showed a dude that
- 52:19Speaker 1: she has a third eye, I can guarantee ninety percent
- 52:24Speaker 1: minimum of guys would just be like, that's not a
- 52:26Speaker 1: problem for me. Whatever, You're just you're just unique, baby,
- 52:30Speaker 1: Like they wouldn't it just it would so big. Mom
- 52:34Speaker 1: saying this to her is especially funny in that regard
- 52:37Speaker 1: to me of just like, oh, he would never want you.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And I'm like, if anybody is going to look past
- 52:41Speaker 1: a third eye, are you kidding it's Augie, that would
- 52:44Speaker 1: have been no issue whatsoever. Bro didn't even care if
- 52:47Speaker 1: women had legs or not when it was mermaids. That's
- 52:49Speaker 1: an't that was nothing a third eye. Please get out
- 52:54Speaker 1: of here with that. So anyway, say I talked about
- 52:59Speaker 1: this meeting that happens a little bit later, Oh right,
- 53:03Speaker 1: And then Loofy is trying to get back to the
- 53:06Speaker 1: rendezvous point and he has to go down into town
- 53:10Speaker 1: and it's like pouring rain. He is really getting exhausted
- 53:16Speaker 1: because he is so hungry, and he keeps facing up
- 53:20Speaker 1: against different people on the streets that he is having
- 53:23Speaker 1: to fight against. And I should mention that it looks
- 53:26Speaker 1: like Loovi has permanently lost a tooth. It's interesting because
- 53:31Speaker 1: the animation will sometimes have it look like character's lost
- 53:35Speaker 1: a tooth right after they've been beaten up, but it's
- 53:37Speaker 1: just meant to sort of illustrate a point, the same
- 53:39Speaker 1: way that they'll have big lumps on their head and
- 53:41Speaker 1: then you know, like six frames later they're back to
- 53:44Speaker 1: normal and it's fine. So I kept sort of waiting
- 53:47Speaker 1: for that with Loufy, but his missing tooth is still
- 53:49Speaker 1: there even now, and he is really pushing it. He
- 53:55Speaker 1: is starting to get worn out going up against various
- 54:01Speaker 1: weirdos on the street. One guy is able to like
- 54:04Speaker 1: roll himself into a ball and come at him. Another
- 54:07Speaker 1: guy is able to throw all of these knives. The
- 54:09Speaker 1: guy within knives has also got like a hat on.
- 54:13Speaker 1: It's the sort of hood with bunny ears that is
- 54:15Speaker 1: very much giving Louise Belcher from Bob's Burger's like, I
- 54:20Speaker 1: just kept thinking about her with this, and all these
- 54:25Speaker 1: dudes are really they're making a valiant effort, but they
- 54:30Speaker 1: have severely underestimated Loofy, and he is he's able to
- 54:34Speaker 1: dispatch them, I'm gonna say, without much trouble, even though
- 54:39Speaker 1: obviously he's in bad shape by the end of this.
- 54:41Speaker 1: He's got that white eyed thing where he's breathing heavy
- 54:45Speaker 1: and barely able to like lift himself back to his feet.
- 54:48Speaker 1: So when I say very little effort, I mean, like,
- 54:52Speaker 1: if he's in shape this bad, but he still manages
- 54:56Speaker 1: to take them out on his first try. That to
- 54:59Speaker 1: me seems like pretty easy peasy, And so he like
- 55:03Speaker 1: continues making his way over there with the rain pouring down,
- 55:08Speaker 1: and it seems like everybody else who was gonna come
- 55:12Speaker 1: at him, he's done. There's nobody else facing him, and
- 55:19Speaker 1: Sanji we go back to him briefly, and he's thinking about, like,
- 55:24Speaker 1: I am sure the straw Hats are going to be
- 55:27Speaker 1: able to take care of themselves and get out of here,
- 55:30Speaker 1: but all like, what will happen to the Baratier guys?
- 55:38Speaker 1: The evil army of vin Smokes will die. Maybe this
- 55:45Speaker 1: is for the best. If I just go through with
- 55:47Speaker 1: it and she gets what she wants, it'll put an
- 55:50Speaker 1: end to all of it, which I would argue at
- 55:56Speaker 1: this point, Soanji, that's nonsense. It's one thing if you
- 56:05Speaker 1: were saying this and it was like and you hadn't
- 56:11Speaker 1: already seen the way that she like lies and twists things.
- 56:15Speaker 1: But now the idea that you go through with this
- 56:20Speaker 1: and she winds up leaving everybody else alone or you know,
- 56:24Speaker 1: it just felt for me like you have to be aware.
- 56:30Speaker 1: It's just very much in this moment to me that
- 56:33Speaker 1: he has lost hope and just doesn't know what to do,
- 56:36Speaker 1: so he's telling himself whatever in order to keep himself going.
- 56:43Speaker 1: And he is sitting there just sort of spacing out
- 56:48Speaker 1: in despair thinking about all of this. And by the way,
- 56:52Speaker 1: there had come a point where some of the henchmen
- 56:56Speaker 1: go to check on him in his room to make
- 56:58Speaker 1: sure that he's still there, and they think that it's
- 57:03Speaker 1: Sanji in bed sleeping, and I thought, oh, Sanji had
- 57:09Speaker 1: the foresight to realize they were gonna check on him,
- 57:13Speaker 1: And so he has set up this like fake you know,
- 57:18Speaker 1: this fake out version of him that is that looks
- 57:22Speaker 1: like it's him breathing. No, no, no. It turns out
- 57:26Speaker 1: that all it is is the little egg plant man
- 57:30Speaker 1: got got a bit sleepy and decided to like kip
- 57:33Speaker 1: in Sanji's bed for a little bit and take a nap.
- 57:37Speaker 1: And when he wakes up, it's it's feeling very much
- 57:42Speaker 1: like he didn't really even intend to fall asleep, that
- 57:47Speaker 1: this is unexpected. Oh I'm in I'm in bed, like
- 57:51Speaker 1: dude didn't even plan. Not good at his job. Just
- 57:55Speaker 1: needless to say, eggplant man, you need a demotion. You
- 57:59Speaker 1: are not up for it, my friend, So here Sonji
- 58:04Speaker 1: gets interrupted by one of the other henchmen coming up
- 58:09Speaker 1: trying to see which one it is, and he the
- 58:13Speaker 1: bobbin is his name. He has grabbed the uh, the
- 58:19Speaker 1: meat on the bone that is meant for Loofy, and
- 58:24Speaker 1: tries to take it. He is just helping himself to
- 58:29Speaker 1: all the food that's in this basket that Sonji made,
- 58:33Speaker 1: and this causes Sonji to completely lose his shit. It's
- 58:38Speaker 1: a great it's a great little like, oh, maybe I
- 58:42Speaker 1: should just give up on all this and let go
- 58:44Speaker 1: and my friends will be fine without me, and YadA YadA.
- 58:47Speaker 1: And then the second that somebody is just like, oh, well,
- 58:51Speaker 1: then you won't be needing this, he's just like Fargio
- 58:54Speaker 1: and just like goes for it, and immediately he starts
- 58:57Speaker 1: running towards Loofy and thinking to himself, what the hell
- 59:00Speaker 1: am I doing? And I just really enjoyed this. There's
- 59:04Speaker 1: something else I'm covering today that there was like a
- 59:06Speaker 1: similar moment where a person acted like, oh, I guess
- 59:09Speaker 1: I'll just let it be, and then as soon as
- 59:12Speaker 1: somebody else was like, oh, you're just letting it be nice,
- 59:16Speaker 1: they go actually fuck you and fuck everybody around you.
- 59:20Speaker 1: And it's such a very real, like human reaction to
- 59:23Speaker 1: me to just kind of It's fine if I say
- 59:26Speaker 1: a thing because I'm in the pits of despair, but
- 59:29Speaker 1: if you say it to me, I never want to
- 59:31Speaker 1: see your face again. You know, Yeah, I get it.
- 59:37Speaker 1: So anyway, that's the end of that episode. That's the
- 59:42Speaker 1: two of them. But I'm enjoying this arc a lot,
- 59:46Speaker 1: very very much and looking forward to seeing I'm hoping
- 59:52Speaker 1: that in the next section we get Sanji and Lufy
- 59:56Speaker 1: reunited and Lufy getting to eat some of the food
- 59:59Speaker 1: that made I am sure it will not be enough,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: but if he breaks his fast onto food that Sangi cooked,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: then perhaps he will be free to eat a bunch
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: of the other stuff. And I would love it. I
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: would love it more than anything if what Lufy eats
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: to power himself up for a showdown with Big Mom
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: is the actual wedding cake, because it would make her
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: so mad. She has been so protective of that wedding cake,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: and that's that's the real way to get at her
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: and needle her is to fucking eat that. So fingers crossed.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: All right, everybody, I am going to wrap this up.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Thank you all again for hanging out with me, those
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: of you who were here live. Thank you to those
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: of you who are listening. Sorry again about all the coughing.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: It seems to have finally calmed down, but I don't
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: know what happened, and I will be seeing you again
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: soon with a new episode next week because this Thursday
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I took off. But I appreciate all of you and
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: we'll see you soon. Until then, totaloo motherfuckers. That was
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: an unspoiled network podcast.
