Transcript
- 0:09Hello, everyone, and welcome back.
- 0:11You're listening to Galaxy Crashers, The Busted, and McFly
- 0:14podcast. The only place where Busted and
- 0:17McFly come together. Hosted by us 2 mums who still
- 0:21just measure time in CD releases and Top of the Pops appearances.
- 0:25I'm Sham. And I'm Tay, and today's episode
- 0:29is a good one. We've got our usual this or
- 0:31that's. And this week, it's naughties
- 0:33lost TV shows. Oh, and song of the week, we're
- 0:37talking about something a little bit more emotional.
- 0:40We are talking none other than Not Alone by McFly.
- 0:45I don't think I'm emotionally ready for this, and it's been an
- 0:48emotional week. Yeah, this one definitely hits a
- 0:52little bit deeper than some of the other songs that we've been
- 0:54talking about. It's not your typical upbeat,
- 0:57you know, surfer babe McFly track.
- 0:59It's more reflective and most definitely more emotional. 100%
- 1:04definitely. It's one of those songs that
- 1:05feel like a comfort blanket when you need it.
- 1:08And I've needed one of those this week more than ever.
- 1:11And I know you probably have to. So before we get into all of
- 1:14this stuff, shall we share what our weeks have been like?
- 1:17Yeah. And also, can I just say I would
- 1:19love a little comfort blanket shaped like Danny Jones?
- 1:23They would have to defer any of them any.
- 1:25And can we just let everybody know that Shannon has a very
- 1:28specific comfort blanket that has the face of Ian Somerhalder
- 1:32all over it, which those of you who don't know who he is, he's
- 1:35Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries, which I'm not going to
- 1:38lie, pretty good comfort. Blanket it is and I take it
- 1:42everywhere with me like I am like my 4 year old child.
- 1:46When whenever, whenever my 4 year old child goes anywhere.
- 1:50All she wants is her comfort blanket and that is me with my
- 1:53Vampire Diaries blanket. So there you go, McFly busted.
- 1:56Here's a new little merch trick for you.
- 1:58Blankets with your faces on. I'll buy it and I'll take it
- 2:02everywhere, I promise. Absolutely.
- 2:05Anyway, how's your week been? Yeah, it's been OK, It's been
- 2:11all right. I've not had a very good mental
- 2:13health week but it's been the last week of half term and we
- 2:18filled it to the brim and I think that might be why I'm
- 2:22having a breakdown. Overload.
- 2:24We've, yeah, literally, we've had trips to the seaside, we
- 2:28went to Bristol, I visited parents, I've said seen friends,
- 2:32I've done big homework projects. It's just been a lot and also my
- 2:38marathon training has like upped notch, which is nice but.
- 2:41Also Harry John, Harry John's back.
- 2:43Yeah, it's scary, but also scary because my average non-stop run
- 2:48is now like a non-stop run is an hour.
- 2:52There's an also nice. It's really nice though because
- 2:55that means I get an hour child free.
- 2:58I love that for you. I'm so proud of you doing 9 K.
- 3:01Literally 9 K. Like, what on earth?
- 3:03Like I remember when you started this and you were like, I've got
- 3:06to run for a full 15 minutes today.
- 3:08How am I going to do it? And now you're running like for
- 3:11an hour and 15 straight. Like, I know it's well done.
- 3:14When I first started, I couldn't run outside for 60 seconds.
- 3:18I could do it on my treadmill but I couldn't do it outside.
- 3:21I was like so self-conscious and it was all very, very different.
- 3:24And I remember I did Couch to 5K and my first big run was 20
- 3:30minutes and I had like 3 anxiety attacks about it because I'm
- 3:34doing it with a friend and it was that like not wanting to let
- 3:38her down but also not feeling like I could ever run for 20
- 3:42minutes straight. Yeah, that's literally where I'm
- 3:44at. I'm at the beginning of the
- 3:45running. I was actually, I was supposed
- 3:47to start my running yesterday, but I decided against it because
- 3:50I am so tired. But we'll go into that in a
- 3:52minute. But.
- 3:54It was. It was giving me inspiration.
- 3:56Honestly, I actually stopped. A woman stopped us yesterday on
- 3:59our run and she was like, oh, I've always wanted to run.
- 4:01I was like, join me, I can do it.
- 4:03Anyone can. Come with us.
- 4:06I think I'll just stick to walking my dog and I was like
- 4:08no, join me, join me. I love that.
- 4:12And you know, I really love to be able to take my dog running,
- 4:14but I can't because he has like he's not good on a road and I
- 4:19cannot run on the sand dunes because the the floor is so
- 4:23uneven. I tried it a few years ago and
- 4:25on my hips and my knees and it was just awful.
- 4:27It was so bad. So now I need to go back-to-back
- 4:30to running, back to road running.
- 4:31But yeah, nevermind. Sorry, carry on.
- 4:33What are we going to say? No, I was just saying like, I
- 4:36like, I remember breaking down after 20 minutes and now I'm
- 4:39running for like minimum an hour.
- 4:41I love that for you. And I was in school today and we
- 4:45put a poster up for our like, fundraising page in the staff
- 4:49room and a woman came over to us and she was like one of the
- 4:52teachers. She was like, Oh my God, I'm so
- 4:53proud of you guys. This is amazing.
- 4:55How much was your last run? And we were like, oh, it was 9
- 4:58K. And she was like, oh, cool,
- 5:00cool. So did you walk any of that or
- 5:03how much of it did you run and how much of it did you walk?
- 5:05And we both, we looked at her and we were like, we ran the
- 5:08whole thing. And that is like 5 1/2 miles.
- 5:12Yes, the bar. That's so far.
- 5:14And I was saying, I was saying to Danny, my friend who I run
- 5:17with, I was like, when you put it into miles, because that's
- 5:20how you're like, yeah, your K doesn't really.
- 5:24You can people say like, oh, just on a cheeky 5K.
- 5:28But that's if you said to somebody I've just ran for three
- 5:30miles, it sounds so much more impressive.
- 5:32You may also like that's like 6 minutes in the car driving at 60
- 5:37mile an hour. Like that's how it works out
- 5:40because if you drive 60 mile an hour, you're doing, No, I know,
- 5:43but like if you work it out, like in maths in if you do 60
- 5:47mile an hour, that's one mile per 160 mph, you're doing one
- 5:52mile a minute. So it would take 6 minutes to do
- 5:556 miles. So that's how much, like that's
- 5:58how much you're going. And that's so far like.
- 6:01I know it's. Ridiculous.
- 6:03Fair play to you, man. Seriously.
- 6:05So cool. So we're going to have to start
- 6:06calling you Shannon. Sorry, I was just saying this
- 6:10time, next, Jeremy, we're going to be running alongside Harry
- 6:12Judd because we're going to sign up for the London Marathon or
- 6:15I'm going to stand on the side and I'm going to be cheering him
- 6:18on with my I think I'm Harry Judd T-shirt on.
- 6:21I was just going to say we're going to have to start calling
- 6:23you Shannon Judd now, so. Shannon Judd I don't mind that
- 6:27I. Love it.
- 6:27I thought you would. I thought you'd like it.
- 6:31How was your week anyway? It didn't start great, but it
- 6:37ended really well. I am, I don't think I've been
- 6:41this tired since my daughter was a newborn.
- 6:43Like I'm absolutely exhausted. I've done a lot of driving in
- 6:47the last, in the last seven days.
- 6:50I, I think I mentioned on last week's podcast, my Nan's not
- 6:54very well and she lives in Bristol.
- 6:55So I took my little girl up to see her.
- 7:01It's, it's not a great prognosis.
- 7:02She's she's really, really poorly and she's probably not
- 7:05going to be with us very long. So we're trying to spend as much
- 7:07time with her as physically possible.
- 7:10So I took Molly up for two days, but I stayed in Gloucester.
- 7:13So I drove to Bristol, which was like 3 hours, 40 minutes.
- 7:16And then I drove from there to Gloucester, which was another
- 7:18hour. And then I drove back to Bristol
- 7:19and then back to Gloucester and then back to Bristol the day
- 7:21after that and then home. So I think I did like 15 hours
- 7:24of driving in total. And then on the weekend, yeah,
- 7:28with a 2 year old, which isn't fun if you haven't done it
- 7:30before, it's not fun. She slept all of like an hour
- 7:34and 20 minutes and it's like a four hour drive.
- 7:36So it was, yeah, it was difficult.
- 7:39Bless her. By the last hour she was just
- 7:41not my friend. She was just like, go home,
- 7:44mummy, go home. I was like, I know we're nearly
- 7:46there, see Daddy, see Daddy. But she loved it and she loved
- 7:51seeing my nan and I think it cheered my nan up to see her.
- 7:54And we had a nice couple of days just all together.
- 7:57And then I got to see Ricky, which is obviously my best
- 8:00friend up in Gloucester, which was amazing.
- 8:02Just to spend the evenings with him just decompressing and like,
- 8:05not having to feel too emotional, actually just be able
- 8:08to chat shit with my best friend instead of, you know, thinking
- 8:10about everything that's going on.
- 8:11So that was really nice. And then on Saturday I drove up
- 8:15to Cardiff, which was another 4 hour journey there and then
- 8:19another 4 hours home with my one of my mum friends Sasha and we
- 8:24went to see Youngblood which was insane.
- 8:29I've got a little done, like a little bit of a vlog didn't do
- 8:32very well because by the time I got to the queue I'd just sort
- 8:35of forgotten about it. I have got videos and some clips
- 8:38and stuff and then I've got loads of videos and stuff of the
- 8:40performances and oh, it was amazing.
- 8:42We queued from about 12:31 at 1:00 PM, which got us literally
- 8:493rd row. So it was a really, we were
- 8:52really close. It was so good.
- 8:54Unfortunately, we had a lot of issues with people in the crowd,
- 8:57which was so sad and not something that I expected at a
- 9:00Youngblood concert because like the the Black Hearts Club seemed
- 9:04to be so like united and like very much about.
- 9:08Not when you're seeing him live. Yeah, like it's weird.
- 9:10Crowds I've been with. It's mad, isn't it?
- 9:13People talking about how it's a safe space and like how we're
- 9:16all here to support each other and all that.
- 9:18Oh my God, four people, Four people.
- 9:20It was unreal. Actually, it was three people,
- 9:22but one woman, twice. We actually had one lady at the
- 9:25beginning. She punched a woman in the face
- 9:28who was with her child, and her child was like, like, absolutely
- 9:32just breaking down. She's like, she punched my mom.
- 9:34She was very, very drunk and she was like ignoring everyone
- 9:38around her and just jumping into them and like watching and
- 9:41screaming and singing and looking at Dom and not actually
- 9:43like thinking about there were kids in the crowd.
- 9:46There were lots of children there.
- 9:47Like not little little children, but like, you know, like 1011
- 9:50year olds. It was great.
- 9:51It was lovely to see some of them having their first concert,
- 9:53like, and she was awful. She was so, so drunk to the
- 9:57point where we literally were like shouting for security to
- 10:00come and help us. And they sent somebody over and
- 10:03they literally dragged her out because she was ignoring the
- 10:05security, refused to leave. So she got dragged out.
- 10:09And then literally within an hour she was back.
- 10:13And she was so drunk. She was in the same place.
- 10:16Yeah, in the same place again. She got all the way.
- 10:18I don't know how they let her back in.
- 10:19She was so, so drunk. She was so, so drunk.
- 10:22She passed out in on the floor, just wasn't moving.
- 10:25So this was during I can't Never.
- 10:29Oh no, it wasn't during Dom set, it was during the Warning set
- 10:33they were supporting. They were phenomenal.
- 10:36By the way, if you have not listened to The Warning, get on
- 10:39Spotify. It's an all A3 sister rock band
- 10:42from Mexico. They were absolutely insane.
- 10:46They were so good. We listened to a few of their
- 10:47songs on the way up in the car and I was like, these guys are
- 10:50going to be awesome. I didn't quite realise how cool
- 10:52they were going to be until they got on stage.
- 10:53They were amazing, but they cut their set short because this
- 10:55woman passed out in the crowd. So we missed their last two
- 10:58songs, which is so sad, literally.
- 11:01And then that happened. And then about half an hour into
- 11:06Dom set, we had a woman. I think it was a woman.
- 11:11I'm not sure. It could have been a man.
- 11:13I'm not sure. It was dark.
- 11:15I think it was a woman. She was very, very tall.
- 11:17She had short hair, but she was like, when I say very, very
- 11:21tall, I mean like she was probably 6 foot 5.
- 11:23Like she was so tall. And she was a big lady as well.
- 11:27And, and she was like literally pushing these children out the
- 11:31way to try and get to the front. And she was like walking like
- 11:36along like parallel to the barrier to try and get to the
- 11:39middle. And we were like, what are you
- 11:41doing? And she said, my sister's over
- 11:43there. I was like, I don't care where
- 11:45your sister is, Hun. I said, you're not getting
- 11:46through here. So if you want to try over
- 11:48there, that's fine. But you're not getting through
- 11:49here. I said, there are kids here and
- 11:51we've created like a little circle for the children.
- 11:53You're not coming through. And she said my sister's having
- 11:56an anxiety attack over there. And I said, if your sister's
- 11:59having an anxiety attack, then she should be leaving.
- 12:00You shouldn't be going in. Do you know what I mean?
- 12:03I've, I've had anxiety attacks in crowds.
- 12:06I know you have as well. The last thing you want to be
- 12:08doing is being in the middle of the crowd when you're having an
- 12:10anxiety attack. You want to be getting out, not
- 12:13getting people in. Then she was like fake crying
- 12:16and we were like the security came over, tried to get her to
- 12:20leave them. And then another woman not an
- 12:24hour later, like middle-aged in a cowboy hat and like jumping
- 12:30around like you've never seen. And I get there's like mosh
- 12:33areas, but we were like on the side.
- 12:34We weren't in a mosh pit. We weren't anywhere near like
- 12:37what you would consider the. Mosh pit normally like right in
- 12:40the middle. In the centre it wasn't exactly.
- 12:43To know that the where the mosque, we.
- 12:44Were literally at a barrier. We were at barrier with on the
- 12:48right hand side. She came over and she was like,
- 12:51I can't find my sisters that that's my sister, the girl with
- 12:54the blue hair and the girl that she was pointing at had just
- 12:57been on stage and played fleabag with Dom.
- 12:59And I was like, that's not your sister.
- 13:00That's the lady that the girl that was just on stage.
- 13:02Like that's not yourself. This girl's like 17 and you're
- 13:04like 50. Like this isn't this isn't
- 13:07yourself. This was a different woman now.
- 13:09This was a completely different another woman the the lady with
- 13:12the sister that's having an anxiety attack had gone.
- 13:14This was another woman looking for a sister who had blue hair.
- 13:17She was jumping around. She was literally going damn at
- 13:21the top of her voice when he was talking damn like screaming,
- 13:25waving her arms in the air, bumping all the people around
- 13:28her, jumping up and down. It was just I was like how is
- 13:32this happening again? Like this is full.
- 13:35It's genuinely put, it's put me off going again, like genuinely
- 13:38like it made me feel really uncomfortable.
- 13:42It's, it's a real shame really that that happened because other
- 13:45than that it was really lovely and we made some lovely friends
- 13:47in the queue and stuff as well. But it was just really sad for
- 13:50that to be sort of like my memory of the night.
- 13:52Do you know what I mean? Yeah, when I went to see him in
- 13:55Cardiff, I think Neck Deep was sporting.
- 13:58We made friends with this guy behind us because he was a Neck
- 14:00deep fan. And they're like so chill.
- 14:02Neck Deep fans are like the kind of fans you'd see.
- 14:05They're either like mosh pit in or like a mosh pit or they're
- 14:09like with a beer on the side just vibing.
- 14:11Do you know what I mean? And there was this girl in front
- 14:15of in front of me to the stage. I was barrier, but to like the
- 14:20walkway. Do you know what I mean?
- 14:21Yeah, Yeah. So she was in front of me to the
- 14:24stage, but I was barrier walkway.
- 14:26And she was like, she was elbows.
- 14:29She was like putting her elbows out.
- 14:31She was like, you're making me uncomfortable.
- 14:33She turned around to me and she was like giving me dirty looks.
- 14:35And I said to Bradley, what's going on?
- 14:37And then I said to her, are you OK, love?
- 14:39And she went, you're making me uncomfortable.
- 14:42I don't want to be near you. I want you to leave.
- 14:44And I was like, are you joking? I'm here with my boyfriend
- 14:47talking to the the lad behind me.
- 14:49I'm not doing anything about to you.
- 14:51You keep brushing against me. I you're a barrier.
- 14:55I hate being touched. You're a barrier, my love.
- 14:59Go to the back. She was like, you're ruining my
- 15:01experience. I don't want to be here anymore.
- 15:03OK, leave. Go then.
- 15:04OK, leave. Go out.
- 15:05I'm sorry. You can't be a barrier if you
- 15:07don't think you're going to get touched by other people.
- 15:09Bugs into it. Do you know what I mean?
- 15:10I'm so like anyone can make friends with me.
- 15:13At a concert, I will make friends with the fucking floor
- 15:16at a concert. I'll make friends with the
- 15:17security guard. I am my happiest, most authentic
- 15:20self. I'm not going to intentionally
- 15:23annoy you. So if you're being, if you're
- 15:25getting annoyed, then that's a you problem.
- 15:28Absolutely, absolutely. And I just think like I, I'm, I
- 15:32would have been more than happy for those people to sort of
- 15:35stand where they were and, and just carry, you know, But no,
- 15:38we've queued all day. We literally queued from midday.
- 15:40Like we bit, we stood up for seven hours waiting for the
- 15:43doors to open and we've stood up for another two hours since then
- 15:46to see Dom. We are not moving.
- 15:48I'm not moving for a, a person who's 6 foot something to stand
- 15:52in front of me. No way, sorry.
- 15:55You can see from the back, Hun, I'm 5 foot five.
- 15:58I can't see from the back, like I don't need anybody in front of
- 16:02me. I just think it could have been
- 16:04better. But other than that it was a
- 16:06lovely experience. And also we went to, and I'm
- 16:09keeping this in mind for the next time that me and you are in
- 16:11Cardiff because I imagine we will be at some point.
- 16:13I'm sure McFly will be there at some point.
- 16:15There is. We're not going to Cardiff,
- 16:17we're going to Bristol. Oh yeah.
- 16:20This is I had this exact same thought when I left at Airbnb.
- 16:23She said are you back anytime soon?
- 16:25I said Oh yeah I'm coming for waitress in August.
- 16:27I went no I'm not I'm going to Bristol.
- 16:28Sorry got that completely wrong. I went to this amazing adult
- 16:34only golf like mini Golf Club slash bar.
- 16:38It was the best thing ever. It was massive.
- 16:43It was literally like an indoor assault course for golf.
- 16:47And we got there at half like half eleven, 11:45.
- 16:50It was literally because we thought there's no point in
- 16:52sitting in the car waiting for an hour and a half to get out of
- 16:54the car park. So we said right, we'll go.
- 16:57And literally as we got to the car, the last cars were just
- 16:59leaving at like half twelve. Oh, I love that.
- 17:02At like half one 1:15 we got to the car.
- 17:05So we went to this little golf thing.
- 17:07For 20 for 22 lbs you get for two people, you get a free drink
- 17:13each and we had cocktails. So a proper drink, you know, and
- 17:18your golf like your two hour slot for golf.
- 17:21And it was phenomenal. It had like I'll send you
- 17:25pictures. It was so funny.
- 17:26It had like, ridiculous, like rude graffiti on the wall.
- 17:31And there was like a Ghostbusters corner and there
- 17:33was like stupid, like lyrics. And there was literally a slide
- 17:38in the middle of the course to get to the next hole.
- 17:42You had to go down the slide. It was so funny.
- 17:45It was like a mat, like, you know, like a helter skelter.
- 17:47Like not helter skelter. Not, not round and round like
- 17:50the bumpy ones that you go down like in a sack.
- 17:53It was one of us. It was.
- 17:55So much fun. It was absolutely hilarious.
- 17:58We had the best time. It was called Golf Fang.
- 18:00So for those of you that might be going to Cardiff anytime
- 18:03soon, definitely check it out. It's over eighteens only, so it
- 18:05was really, really fun. But yeah, it's a little bit of
- 18:08like a bar slash club slash golf course.
- 18:10Why not, you know, as you do, Yeah, we'll give that a go next
- 18:15time we're there. But overall, a really good
- 18:17weekend other than the annoying people in the crowd, which
- 18:20actually will probably lead us quite well onto my this or that.
- 18:24So shall we move to the next segment?
- 18:26Let's do. It OK it's time for this or that
- 18:32and today I've gone with something that actually doesn't
- 18:34really go with the song. It goes with the week that I've
- 18:37had so my this or that for you this week is standing at a
- 18:43concert but you get 5 people minimum being absolute knob
- 18:47heads or seated where everyone is lovely and you have easy
- 18:51access to the bar but you're you know.
- 18:54OK, this is really difficult for me.
- 18:56This is really difficult because I'm a barrier girl through and
- 18:59through. I'm a barrier girl through and
- 19:01through. That's how I thought it'd be
- 19:03hard. To I've I've only ever been to
- 19:06two concerts where I've sat down in my life because I am front
- 19:12row and also I'm I'm front row or nothing as well.
- 19:15I will not. Be If you're going to stand, you
- 19:18need to be in the first 3 rows. I'm 5 foot four, I need to be at
- 19:23the front, cannot see behind anyone.
- 19:27So this is really hard because the two times I've been seated,
- 19:31one of them has been so bad and so high that even though I've
- 19:38had ease of access to the bar and everyone around me was
- 19:40lovely, I didn't enjoy the concert very much because I felt
- 19:44like I was going to vomit off the whole or yeah, it was.
- 19:48It was like I was anxiety really bad.
- 19:51My other time was the Eris tour. Yeah, which was quite.
- 19:55Good like perfect. It was perfect.
- 19:57I went for I scheduled my Wii yeah, I enjoyed that.
- 20:01I think we. All did that day and I.
- 20:03Yeah, I scheduled my way and I didn't.
- 20:06I didn't have to queue. Like we didn't queue for very
- 20:09long. And it was lovely because you
- 20:10knew when you were getting in, where you were sitting.
- 20:12And I can't stand knob heads. Yeah, but.
- 20:18I think I will say actually standing, actually thinking
- 20:21about it because I think depends who I'm with.
- 20:24Yeah, I think it depends who you're seeing.
- 20:27Yeah, also because if I'm with you and there are knob heads
- 20:31around me, we will just take the piss out of them until they just
- 20:34don't end up being knob heads anymore.
- 20:35They're the butt of the joke. Absolutely.
- 20:37I think it depends on who you're seeing.
- 20:39I think that if it's like somebody like Taylor Swift,
- 20:41where it's so big and like the whole stage is a show.
- 20:45Like if you think about the Eras Tour, like it was massive.
- 20:47Like the stage was like the whole length of the arena.
- 20:50She went up and down. The actual stage itself had like
- 20:53so much set design, like dancers and music and lights and, you
- 20:59know, trees and everything. Whereas like, if you're going to
- 21:02like a McFly show, it's not like that.
- 21:05Do you know what I mean? I feel like.
- 21:06Yeah. I feel like sitting at the back
- 21:08for McFly or Busted or something like that wouldn't be very good
- 21:13in my eyes. Because you don't.
- 21:14You go because you want the interaction.
- 21:17Yeah, you want, I think. Like, I go for the interaction.
- 21:19I go to see their faces, I go to see them pissing about with each
- 21:23other and laughing and like joking with the crowd and like,
- 21:25you don't get that if you're at the back of the O2.
- 21:28Do you know what I mean? I think that the people that are
- 21:32being knob heads are worth it. I think when you're going to a
- 21:35bigger tour, sometimes seated is better.
- 21:37And also like you said, it depends who you're with.
- 21:39If you're, if I'm with you, I can accomplish anything.
- 21:42So come at me knob heads because me and my elbows.
- 21:46Are not moving. We are old enough to say that we
- 21:51invent. We invented those elbows.
- 21:53Yes, we did. I love it.
- 21:56OK, good. So we agree.
- 21:57That's cool. Yeah, so my this or that is is
- 22:01about concerts as well actually like unintentionally, but it's a
- 22:06bit, it's a bit more not alone. Y OK so my this or that is would
- 22:11you rather be front row of a concert so you get to see like
- 22:1685% of the show close up? Like up close and personal or
- 22:21near the back but your front row to the B stage where they do all
- 22:25the acoustic set. Oh, that's so hard.
- 22:30So yeah. So like front row to the stage
- 22:34or front row to the B stage, but you're at the back for most of
- 22:38it. But when they do that up close
- 22:39and personal bit, the acoustic bit, you're right there.
- 22:44So I remember seeing Katy Perry back in Got to be like 2000 and
- 22:52oh God I would have been about 1919.
- 22:58God, when was I-19 that long ago?
- 23:00I can't remember 14 years ago, 14 years ago.
- 23:06So 2012. Yeah, 2012.
- 23:09Wow, that is sad. I saw Katy Perry at the O2 in
- 23:12London and she had a prism shaped stage.
- 23:14It was her prism tour and it was like a triangle and we were
- 23:18literally right at the end of the triangle, just on the right
- 23:20hand side. And she did her whole acoustic
- 23:24set there, like right in front of us.
- 23:25Like I could see the whites of her eyes, but obviously the
- 23:30majority of the show was down on the mainstage, so we didn't get
- 23:33to see like all of the show up close.
- 23:35But the acoustic set was 10 out of 10.
- 23:38She sang by the grace of God. And I never have cried as much
- 23:41as I did in that moment. And you see me cry at every show
- 23:44I go to, but I bawled my eyes out at that song.
- 23:48So I've been there. I've been at the B stage.
- 23:51I love the B stage, but I love a front row.
- 23:57I really do. I love a barrier.
- 23:59I love being there for the majority of it and I know they
- 24:02go off and they do their things. Like like I've told you before,
- 24:05one of the best shows for me, like we've been to the Era's
- 24:08tour and one of my highlight gigs is Mcbusted in the OMFG Pit
- 24:12because we were at the front like there was and we were at
- 24:16the front with no one else. There was only like 50 people in
- 24:19there with us and there was so much room and it was just the
- 24:21best ever. I just think being front row is
- 24:25just, it's a different experience because when you're
- 24:28even when you're watching the acoustic set, you're still, yes,
- 24:30you're, you're maybe your front row to the B stage, but like
- 24:33sometimes it's a different shape.
- 24:34There's lots of other people there.
- 24:35You're, you're not like front on.
- 24:37I just think being at barrier is where I need to be.
- 24:42Although saying that I have never been in as much pain as I
- 24:46was in Sunday morning when I woke up after standing for about
- 24:5011 hours I was in agony. I had to go back to the car
- 24:55after the gig and put fluffy boots on.
- 24:57You should have seen me walking around Cardiff, it was
- 24:58hilarious. I was in my full young blood
- 25:00outfit like like fishnets belt corset like fit and mesh like
- 25:06see through dress and fluffy brown.
- 25:07Boots so funny, I love. It was not a good look, I'm
- 25:12telling you that right now. Too old.
- 25:14Way too old. But yes.
- 25:15I don't know what my answer would be for this because I've
- 25:18never been to the B stage and I would love to be at the B stage
- 25:23I think. I think actually my answer would
- 25:25be front row unless I knew I wouldn't get front row and then
- 25:31I would be B stage. Yeah, I think I'd be late.
- 25:33Get there and I'm like. So late I get.
- 25:35There and I'm like, you've got all the like people that have
- 25:38paid more to go in earlier and then you've also got like 100
- 25:43people in front of me. I'm not going to run down there.
- 25:46I maybe I might stay by the B stage if there is one.
- 25:50Yeah, I get that. I can never have.
- 25:52I think there's never. I think there's a good choice.
- 25:55Early. But yeah, yeah, well, the older
- 25:59we get, the more we're going to be at that B stage, babe,
- 26:01because I don't know how much longer I can queue for. 12 hours
- 26:06absolutely killed me. It's time for Song of the Week.
- 26:13And this week, we're talking Not Alone by McFly.
- 26:16Oh yes, this one feels a little bit different I think from the
- 26:19earlier stuff. It's still got that obvious,
- 26:21like Poppy, Rocky McFly sound, but obviously it's a lot more
- 26:27emotional and I think it hits a lot harder.
- 26:30Oh, definitely. Yeah.
- 26:32It leans into that more like serious side.
- 26:35It's about like connection and support and reminding people
- 26:38that, well, they're not alone. Oh, so cute.
- 26:41But I think the lyrics really resonate as well, like
- 26:44especially when you feel and you've felt really low.
- 26:47Like I know both of us have had our own sort of issues with
- 26:50mental health and that sort of stuff.
- 26:52And I think a song like this is one of those when you're in
- 26:54those really low moments, it really resonates with you and
- 26:57you can just go back to it when you need to.
- 26:59Do you know what I mean? Oh yeah, 100%.
- 27:01And even when they go deep, they like it still feels hopeful.
- 27:03Like I was saying to my friend the other day, I was like, I've
- 27:08know I sound like a walking talking cliche when I say this,
- 27:12but there are some songs that have genuinely saved my life.
- 27:16I've got 100%. This is one of them.
- 27:19Yeah, I think that, you know, we all have those songs that we
- 27:22hear and we just can't, like, control our emotional reaction
- 27:26to it. I feel like I get that with
- 27:27this. I feel like.
- 27:28And you know what? It sounds really silly, but I
- 27:31get that with I'll be OK. Oh, I was just about to say
- 27:35that. Oh, I love that.
- 27:36OK, so it's the like, so uplifting and so like, you can't
- 27:40be sad listening to that song. Do you know what I mean?
- 27:43And it's like also when you're singing along to it, you're,
- 27:46you're already giving yourself those like manifestation of like
- 27:50being OK. Yeah, you're just like, and it's
- 27:53a bit more of a bop, isn't it? Whereas like I think Not Alone
- 27:56is more like a it's sad and it's like emotional, but it's it's
- 28:01positive at the same time. Do you know what I mean?
- 28:04I think I have way too many of these songs that make me feel
- 28:07like this. I think I got that with Zombie,
- 28:11with Youngblood, that was like, Oh my God, I was so emotional.
- 28:14Listeners to that. Me and Sasha were just hugging
- 28:15and crying all time. It's so funny because again, he
- 28:19doesn't have a lot of songs that are like really emotional.
- 28:22Even the ones that are quite brutal are quite upbeat and
- 28:25rocky and like have their own style.
- 28:27But zombies, so emotional. It's hard to listen to it when
- 28:31you and I like, I don't think about it the way that he wrote
- 28:35it the same way as like when you listen to a Taylor Swift deep
- 28:38cut or even a McFly deep cut. Like everybody's got their own
- 28:41version of what that means to them, if that makes sense.
- 28:43Yeah, 100%. You picture different things,
- 28:46you picture different scenarios in your head when you hear the
- 28:49song, and I think that's something that like most people
- 28:51can can relate to. I I feel like this is it was
- 28:57underrated. I don't think it is anymore.
- 28:59I think that people really appreciate it after the tour.
- 29:03I think that the obviously on on its own, it's a Blum and amazing
- 29:08song. And I'm going to give you my
- 29:10rating in a minute anyway. I think seeing it with 3:00 AM
- 29:14was like, wow people, people were like, Oh my God, like what
- 29:18a mash up. And I think it showed Danny's
- 29:21vocals like so perfectly. Like he was belting for his life
- 29:27on that stage when he was singing there.
- 29:28His This song shows off his entire range.
- 29:31Oh so good from his his chest voice and like his power like
- 29:39that comes from his diagram. Oh my God.
- 29:41And you can see in his face. You can see it in the tension
- 29:44that he's holding in his body. Like it's so, so powerful.
- 29:48I am going to give a rating for the original version and I'm
- 29:51going to give a rating for the tour version.
- 29:54If you don't mind. That's fine.
- 29:57I love the original version so much.
- 30:00I think Tom and Danny's little, I think it's the second verse
- 30:05when they do the my tired radio keeps playing tired songs.
- 30:10You know that bit They do the harmony, my tired radio and Tom
- 30:15does the higher and Danny does the lower.
- 30:16I think it's that way round. Oh my God, the harmony.
- 30:20And even on the Nan and Nan and Nan and Nanana, that bit like
- 30:24the, the harmonies, Oh my Lord, they are so like perfect.
- 30:29They give me like what little little shivers because I love
- 30:33them so much. I'm going to give this song a
- 30:35strong nine. I, I don't, I don't know why
- 30:39it's not a 10. I feel like I probably could
- 30:41rate it 10, but I'm a little bit nervous too, you know what I
- 30:45mean? Give that 10 away.
- 30:47I know it's still so early in the in the series.
- 30:52Yeah, I'm going to give it a strong nine.
- 30:53I I think it's absolutely amazing.
- 30:55I think it showcases Danny and Tom's vocals so, so well.
- 30:59I like the lyrics. I think the lyrics are really
- 31:02good. I think that they, they're not
- 31:05like the best lyrics ever written.
- 31:08They're not like, it's not like lyrically incredible, but I
- 31:11think the melody and the way that the song is written it, it
- 31:17just has that like performance value.
- 31:19Do you know what I do? You know what I mean?
- 31:20Yeah, 100%, yeah. And there's that bit of the,
- 31:24there's, I think it's the second verse.
- 31:27And he says, And all I want to do is just go home.
- 31:31Oh my. God, that lyric just gets me.
- 31:34So that's the line. It gets me every time.
- 31:37I'm like, oh, because you know, and you just feel awful and you
- 31:39just want to go home and you just want to be at home and you
- 31:41just want to be with the people that you love the most.
- 31:44And that's usually at your home. Like I just love that that line.
- 31:47I think that's great. So yeah, giving that a nine.
- 31:49I'm going to go to you to give you get you to give me your
- 31:51rating for this. And then we'll talk a bit more
- 31:53about the the tour version. Yeah, nice.
- 31:56So I listen to the song and I forget that it is on Room on the
- 32:04third floor because it is so. Different.
- 32:09Any other song and we were going through this the other day and
- 32:13we were going through the all the songs and I was like Down by
- 32:17the Lake is my favourite room on the 3rd floor without a doubt.
- 32:19And I even wrote it on like a comment on Instagram.
- 32:21I was like down by the Lake and I think I've said surfer babe or
- 32:25something was my number ones from this album.
- 32:29It's not. It's this song and this is my
- 32:31turn out of turn. I love this.
- 32:35Song this song is, it's because I just forget it's on this album
- 32:38because it's so fucking mature for this album.
- 32:42It is such. The rest of the album is like.
- 32:46Teeny boppy. Poppy and fun and Pet Shop Boys
- 32:50and like very like a little bit jazzy here and there and like
- 32:55very like surfer like I feel like every song could be on like
- 33:00a surf album. Yeah, it was very set in their
- 33:02sound, weren't they? In this album and this.
- 33:04One's very different. And then they, yeah, they just
- 33:07throw not alone and I just forget.
- 33:08It's so mature. For this album.
- 33:09It is. It is my 10 out of 10.
- 33:11Can we also talk about the placement because the next song
- 33:14starts with everything was going just the way a plan the broccoli
- 33:18was done. Yeah, it was so.
- 33:20Funny and like they've gone from this to that.
- 33:23Yeah, and when I say that this song has genuinely saved my
- 33:26life, you said that line a minute ago and I was like, I
- 33:28cannot cry on this podcast. It's going to happen at some
- 33:32point, let's face. It this song has made me feel so
- 33:35many different things and like you said, the lyrics aren't
- 33:38hugely strong. But it came the song came out in
- 33:43a time where I think I needed it.
- 33:46And it is the song that I go back to in my head when I'm when
- 33:51I'm having one of those days where I feel anxious or like
- 33:54I've had this past week, some really low moments.
- 33:56And I have listened to this song and I don't doubt that this song
- 34:01will be on my Spotify like wrapped at the.
- 34:03End of the year. Just from that this one week.
- 34:07Oh, right, OK, just played it over and over again.
- 34:09Yeah, big because genuinely it is that it's one of those songs
- 34:14that you go back to when you're feeling low.
- 34:16And I think I would be doing the song and myself and how this
- 34:22song has helped me disservice if I didn't give it 10 out 10.
- 34:26OK, I'm here for it, I like it, I'm here for it.
- 34:29I mean, like I said, it probably could be a 10 for me, but I'm
- 34:31just a bit scared about giving my 10 away.
- 34:36Shall we talk a little bit about Not Alone and the 3:00 AM mash
- 34:41up that they did at the tour? Because let's do it.
- 34:44I genuinely was not ready. I don't know about you.
- 34:50I think I don't want to be. I don't want to be that girl
- 34:53that was like, you don't know what it was like because you
- 34:55were at the back of the O2, but I'm gonna because you don't know
- 34:59what it was like up there at Barrier.
- 35:02It was. And I don't.
- 35:04And I'm fuming that I don't. It was so good.
- 35:07It was very much like seeing seeing Danny and Charlie so
- 35:13close, like putting everything into that cover was just unreal.
- 35:18Like and their voices are so different, but they were still
- 35:23so like they just, they just literally mashed together so
- 35:30they're. So different, but they blend.
- 35:33And like hearing hearing Charlie sing a little bit of not alone
- 35:37as well and like hearing Danny sing a little bit of three M
- 35:39like they were doing little bits.
- 35:40It wasn't like they didn't do like a verse of each other song,
- 35:43but they did like little bits here and there like Charlie did
- 35:46the Nana Nana Nas and it was like it was really nice.
- 35:49I absolutely, I think in terms of like the verses version of
- 35:54the tour and like what we expected from the verses, like
- 35:58element of the tour that we didn't really get.
- 36:00We got it all in this song and I love that.
- 36:02And I think if I'm rating the I'm rating the tour version of
- 36:06it and what out of all the songs on the tour, this was my
- 36:10favourite to watch. So I think the tour version is a
- 36:13is a 10 out of 10 for me. Absolutely.
- 36:15I loved it every, every second of it.
- 36:19I my only down downside about this.
- 36:23The only thing wrong with about with this duet is that I was so
- 36:27thirsty for content that my tick tock was full of it and I wish I
- 36:32experienced it first hand without knowing.
- 36:34Before seeing it, I know the way you waited because you were
- 36:39right at the end of tour as well, weren't you?
- 36:41Like the last. Decade.
- 36:43Yeah, The way I felt when Matt left the first verse of Sleeping
- 36:49with the Light On, I didn't know that was going to happen.
- 36:51And that hit me in every feel. And I wish that I got that
- 36:57experience with this because. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:59Yeah, this is this was, it was just so good and it was
- 37:02unexpected. And I, I think you're exactly
- 37:06right and saying this is exactly what I wanted from the tour.
- 37:09I wanted everything to be like this.
- 37:12Yeah, definitely. I think this is the the main
- 37:14element of the verses aspect that everybody saw and everybody
- 37:18loved him. And like, it doesn't matter
- 37:20whether you're a Busted fan or a McFly fan, whether you hate
- 37:23Busted or you hate McFly or whether you like us and you slap
- 37:25bang the middle and you love them both.
- 37:27Everyone loved this, everyone. I don't remember speaking to
- 37:30anyone that wasn't like, Oh my God, 3:00 AM versus not alone
- 37:33was so good. Like, I don't, I don't think
- 37:36I've. Spoke to anybody who hasn't said
- 37:38that it's 10 out of 10. It was amazing.
- 37:40Yeah, exactly. Like that's what I mean.
- 37:42I don't think I've spoke to anybody that said it wasn't
- 37:44good. Like it was absolutely
- 37:45incredible. So yeah, I think that it's
- 37:48definitely, it was an underrated track.
- 37:51I think that a lot of people like it, a lot of people liked
- 37:53it, but it's so far into the like the end of the album as
- 37:56well. Like unless you're a hardcore
- 37:58album listener. And also, I didn't really
- 38:00remember this song being like overly played on the radio, I
- 38:04don't think. It.
- 38:06Was when it came out because I know it wasn't a single, was it?
- 38:09I don't think it came out as a single.
- 38:10It just came out on the album when I.
- 38:13Think tired radio is just kept playing?
- 38:16Tired songs I. Know.
- 38:19What we like, I think it matches so well with the 3:00 AM lyrics
- 38:24as well. Like it's very much like, I
- 38:26don't think that my heart can take much more.
- 38:28And then he's like, you're not alone, man.
- 38:30You know what I mean? Yeah, it's fine.
- 38:33We've all been there. We're all going through it.
- 38:35Like we're all in it together. I just think it, it really is.
- 38:39It's a very, very good song. And the vocals.
- 38:42Spoiler for episodes to come. My 3:00 AM rating matches my Not
- 38:49Alone rating. I think mine probably does as
- 38:52well because Three M is up there.
- 38:55God tear. God tear for sure.
- 38:57Well, we'd love to hear what you guys think about this song.
- 39:00Do you rate it as highly as us or are you not a fan of Not
- 39:03Alone? If you're not, why are you
- 39:04listening to this podcast? You must hate everything.
- 39:09You must hate everything we're saying because all we're doing
- 39:10is gushing about this song. So we've done songs, we've done
- 39:15films, but this week we're talking forgotten naughties TV
- 39:19shows. Oh yeah, Because there are so
- 39:23many that just disappear. But we're actually very much
- 39:27iconic. Honestly, when I was thinking
- 39:29about like the other episode today and like what we could use
- 39:32for the Lost TV show section, there were so many in my brain.
- 39:37Actually picking 1 was so hard. Now I was like, you know what?
- 39:39I'm just going to do this one because there's so many that we
- 39:41can, we've got, we can do this all the time.
- 39:43It's fine. This is a regular segment now
- 39:45we'll get to all these amazing TV shows.
- 39:48So we've gone with a Disney Channel sitcom this week.
- 39:50We've gone with something that a lot of you will probably know if
- 39:54you're 30 plus. If you're not 30 plus, you
- 39:58probably won't remember this. So feel free to sort of press
- 40:02that Fast forward 15 seconds bit.
- 40:04Just. Keep pressing that for like 10
- 40:06minutes and then we'll see you in the next section because this
- 40:10was an iconic Disney Channel sitcom from 2003 to 2007.
- 40:16So we're talking all about that. So Raven, that's.
- 40:20So Raven. Oh yeah, I love it.
- 40:23I still know the whole like theme tune is the.
- 40:27Opening and. The stair.
- 40:29The stair, my God. Oh, the Raven Stair.
- 40:32So that's should we, we should probably tell people a little
- 40:35bit about what it's about because they might sort of
- 40:37remember it, but not really remember it.
- 40:39OK, so that's how Raven was about a Raven.
- 40:43She was called Raven Baxter, who was played by Raven Symone.
- 40:48She's a teenager with psychic powers who are often, like,
- 40:52misinterprets her visions. And it, like, causes these crazy
- 40:56chaotic scenarios for her friends and family.
- 40:59It was brilliant. It was so good.
- 41:02I think it was probably. Yeah, it was.
- 41:07It was one of the best Disney TV shows at the time, I think.
- 41:10Yeah, I think I remember like all of my friends watching it
- 41:13and it was one of those ones that it was on when you got home
- 41:16from school. So like, yeah, from school at
- 41:18like 4:00 and you put the telly on.
- 41:20It was always on at like that sort of time if you had the
- 41:22Disney Channel. I I never had the Disney Channel
- 41:27in my house. We didn't actually have Disney.
- 41:29We had like just normal Freeview, like, you know, cable,
- 41:33whatever it was. Yeah, but my nan had it.
- 41:37So I can remember going going to my Nan's house specifically to
- 41:40watch the Disney Channel. I remember, I love that, I love
- 41:45that. I think it was a go to thing.
- 41:47Grandma's spoiling their grandchildren as usual.
- 41:51They're the ones that can afford the children's package.
- 41:53Yes, exactly. My main thing that I remember
- 41:57from this was obviously that she was always getting things wrong
- 42:01and she was always getting people into trouble and like, it
- 42:04was just a very like young teen kind of thing, wasn't it?
- 42:07I have a vivid, vivid picture of her in a purple like denim
- 42:13jacket and purple trousers and her hair in these like little
- 42:16pigtails with like a little headband in like, I can picture
- 42:22it like it was yesterday. She really, really was so cool.
- 42:25And didn't you say earlier that that they did a come like a
- 42:27comeback series as well, like 2017?
- 42:32Yeah, so they did Corey in the House, which was like a spin off
- 42:35at the time about her little brother, I think.
- 42:38And he like moves out and he moves into like the White House.
- 42:42I think if I can run that credit, I wasn't a huge fan of
- 42:44Corey in the House. And then in 2017, they brought
- 42:47out a new TV show called Raven's Home, and it aired from 2017 to
- 42:522023. For six years, that's mental.
- 42:56Yeah, and longer than the original show.
- 42:59Literally longer the original show.
- 43:00And not even half as popular. I don't think.
- 43:04I don't. Remember hearing about it?
- 43:05No. No.
- 43:07And yeah, it's so it's about Raven and her daughter and her
- 43:11daughter getting psychic powers. And actually, it's her real life
- 43:13daughter as well. Well, there you go.
- 43:16So there we go. I, I used to love it.
- 43:19I used to love those like American, I mean very like
- 43:22Hannah Montana kind of thing, you know, like the American
- 43:26Disney shows. I wasn't allowed to watch them
- 43:29very often, but when I when I did loved them.
- 43:32But when I was looking at that, say, Raven early and I was
- 43:35thinking about it, I had a bit of a flashback of a CBBC.
- 43:39Show a Raven vision. Let's let's Chuck it in at the
- 43:42same time because similar name, we don't have to do another
- 43:46episode. Do you remember the CBBC show
- 43:49Raven? Raven yes, of course I do.
- 43:54It was like 10. That was that was like the UK's
- 43:59like. It was my favourite.
- 44:00That was like on in every house. It was my favourite show.
- 44:04I loved it. It was like a a bit of a like
- 44:07dramatic game show, wasn't it? Raven?
- 44:11I remember the guy, he flies. Wouldn't he?
- 44:14Turns into a Raven at the end. And just flies off.
- 44:19So here we are. We had the Rasmus last week with
- 44:21his like Raven feathers in the music videos and now here we are
- 44:25talking about Raven. So I I loved Raven the CBBCBBC
- 44:32show. I can remember him wearing the
- 44:35like jacket that was made out of crows feathers.
- 44:38Yeah, it was like a cake that had crows feathers on it.
- 44:42So funny. So good and I had a very strange
- 44:46crush on that man I can remember.
- 44:48Having I think I did. A bit of an addiction to him and
- 44:51he wasn't even that. Attractive.
- 44:52I don't know. No, he wasn't.
- 44:55I think it was just the mysteriousness of him turning.
- 44:58He was very dark. And yeah, I was in a little bit
- 45:01of an emo phase back then. Yeah, I love my emo, emo phase.
- 45:04I think it was very much like a, oh, who is this Scottish Raven?
- 45:09Scottish Raven. But if you if you've seen that
- 45:12the TV show Raven as in the actual game show, you might
- 45:17remember that it was like a contestants kind of thing and
- 45:21they would like go and compete. I can't remember what they would
- 45:25do. Like it was set on like a
- 45:27mystical island. As far as I remember.
- 45:29It's like a warrior kind of thing.
- 45:31And they had like. Jumping and like climbing and.
- 45:36Yeah, like lots of sort of physical activity kind of
- 45:39things, if that makes sense for you to sort of take part in.
- 45:43But it was very dark and mysterious.
- 45:45I can remember there being like skulls and like he had a big
- 45:48stack with a a Raven on it and like he was.
- 45:51It was very strange. Just occasionally when someone
- 45:55couldn't do something, you just hear a Raven crow.
- 45:59Yeah, in the background. Yeah.
- 46:01Is you're so right. And apparently there was a bit
- 46:04of a reboot as well with a girl a girl Raven.
- 46:11It was an originally aired with like the male Raven in from 2002
- 46:16to 2010. So I'd have been literally 9 in
- 46:212002. So this is probably why I can
- 46:23remember it. And that was hosted by James
- 46:25McKenzie and then it was rebooted.
- 46:29I can't remember when it was, but it said it was.
- 46:31It was inspired by the original format, but it was given like a
- 46:35Gaelic reboot reboot. So it's that like sort of Gaelic
- 46:38vibe. And it was like an ultimate
- 46:39warrior kind of things they like the most successful person would
- 46:43go through and then eat them or they get all of the most
- 46:46successful to sort of battle against each other.
- 46:50And the the lady that was playing Raven then was called
- 46:53Asia. Asia, Aisha.
- 46:55Aisha, I don't know. Aisha.
- 46:59And that was 2018. So that wasn't that long ago.
- 47:03I don't know whether it's still going on or whether it sort of
- 47:07did a die to death, I'm not sure.
- 47:10But cool. But they gave it a little bit of
- 47:11a yeah, cool. They gave it a little bit of a
- 47:14reboot because I remember that being really good.
- 47:16But sometimes I also think just leave a good thing alone.
- 47:19Stop trying to make, you know, if they ever, I tell you now,
- 47:22Shannon, if they ever try and remake friends, I'm going to
- 47:25riot. I'm going to riot.
- 47:27Don't do it. They're doing it with Harry
- 47:28Potter. I have some, yeah.
- 47:31I, I I. Have some TV shows like that.
- 47:33I don't. I'm not up.
- 47:34I'm not up for it. Just leave a good thing alone.
- 47:36Get your own ideas. Yeah, 100%.
- 47:40It's like even when they like like re reboot it as in bring it
- 47:45back, just leave it because you're just going to ruin the
- 47:48best thing that's ever happened to me.
- 47:49Yeah. Exactly.
- 47:51Honestly, I love. TV shows.
- 47:53I love. Hyper fixating on TV shows.
- 47:56I am friends till I die. Well, they they re they brought
- 48:00out like a new series of Gilmore Girls.
- 48:02I know you're not like a Gilmore Girl fan, but I loved the show.
- 48:06And then they did like a 10 years later thing and it was
- 48:09like 4 episodes and it was winter, spring, summer and
- 48:15autumn and you just saw her in a year.
- 48:17Like in in those you followed the character basically through
- 48:21the year but in 4 episodes and it was fucking awful.
- 48:29They ruined like, so in my head, I know where everyone's ended up
- 48:33in my head, and that's where I want them to be.
- 48:36I want Rory to be with Jessie. I want, you know, Lorelai and
- 48:41Luke to be happy as Larry. Like I know where I want them to
- 48:44be in my head. Do not bring it back and tell me
- 48:48that my that Rory is sleeping with somebody who's engaged
- 48:51because you've now ruined her entire personality to me.
- 48:55Yeah, that's not a farm. Not good.
- 48:57She's like. Being the bit on the side that's
- 48:59not that's not the in my head. I worry they'll do it with
- 49:03Vampire Diaries and like all the best.
- 49:06Sort of like naughties and 10s. They've talked about, I've seen
- 49:09them talking about bringing back one more season of Pretty Little
- 49:12Liars, and I think I saw it about Gilm, no.
- 49:16No. Gossip Girl as well.
- 49:18No, no, don't do it. I don't want it.
- 49:20They are not being funny. They messed up the end of Pretty
- 49:22Little Liars anyway. Just leave it.
- 49:24You didn't do a great job. It it ended really badly.
- 49:27Nobody really needed that ending.
- 49:29We waited the whole time to find out who this person was.
- 49:33Spencer's English cousin. Ridiculous, Absolutely
- 49:37ridiculous. Some random girl that we saw
- 49:40once in the background of a shot in season 4 or Season 3.
- 49:43Nobody cares. Like they wanted it to be
- 49:46somebody that everybody knows, that everybody was like, no way,
- 49:49you know? What I mean?
- 49:50Not some random cousin slash step sister slash was a boy is
- 49:55now a girl. Like nobody cares.
- 49:57Like it really was not needed. They've just put too much in it.
- 50:01They made it too complicated. Then they lost all their viewers
- 50:04because they were just like, this is too much.
- 50:05Nobody needed that. It was such a good idea though,
- 50:08like the the dolls house and everything like that on its own
- 50:11was like so out like. Outside like out-of-the-box.
- 50:15Very good writing. Have to add anything.
- 50:18Very good writing. It Never, never seen anything
- 50:20like that. When it came out, I was like,
- 50:22this is cool. There's a really creepy, really
- 50:25cool. Like, yeah, it was.
- 50:26It was awesome. Yeah, but they lost it.
- 50:29I mean, I mean, we're supposed to be talking about Raven when
- 50:31we're talking about Pretty Little lies.
- 50:32But it's fine. You know what happens on our
- 50:34podcast? We often lose our our thoughts.
- 50:37But equally, if you can remember any naughties TV shows that you
- 50:41used to love, that you would like us to talk about, Yeah, we
- 50:45would love your ideas. Although the list is pretty
- 50:47long, so it would have to be pretty damn good to get into the
- 50:51list that I've got ready for the next sort of years worth of
- 50:54episodes because there are so many.
- 50:56But do send them in, OK? We are going to bring back,
- 51:02McFly says. Because I'm ready for you to get
- 51:040 out of four again. Literally, it's the story of my
- 51:08life now. I'm not.
- 51:09I think I'm going to put it on my CV.
- 51:11Cannot do. You know any kind of quiz about
- 51:13my favourite bands? I think you'll be fine.
- 51:15I think this week, I don't think it's as hard.
- 51:20I mean. I don't know, I think my problem
- 51:23is I overthink. It could be, it could be quite
- 51:25hard, I don't know. I feel like I picked pretty easy
- 51:27ones, but I don't know, I could be wrong.
- 51:31It's a little bit chaotic. I've picked like more like silly
- 51:36quotes this week because we, the ones we chose for like quote
- 51:39corner, I think were quite deep last episode that we did.
- 51:43So I think I was like, oh, I'll pick something a little bit more
- 51:46fun and chaotic instead. So I'm going to read you 4 and
- 51:50you're going to match up the McFly member to the quote.
- 51:54Are you ready? I'm ready, OK.
- 51:57Quote number one, I once swallowed a family on stage and
- 52:01just carried on singing #2 I'm basically a 12 year old and a 30
- 52:07year old's body #3 I used to think I was cool.
- 52:13Then I joined McFly and #4 we're not cool.
- 52:20We've never been cool. We've accepted it.
- 52:23Nice. OK, OK, right.
- 52:26So I think I can say that I once swallowed a fly on stage and
- 52:29just carried on singing as probably not Harry.
- 52:32OK. You're doing in process of
- 52:36elimination here. Yeah, there we go.
- 52:38Yeah. OK.
- 52:39I still don't know who it is. I just know it's not Harry. 12
- 52:44year old and 30 year old's body. I'm going to say doggy, OK?
- 52:49I'm trying not to overthink it, but like, I could be so wrong.
- 52:55I used to think I was cool, then I, John McFly.
- 52:57I'm going to say Harry because I feel like he's the coolest.
- 53:00OK, I might change that, though. Not giving you.
- 53:08I once wanted to fly on stage. You just carried on singing,
- 53:10Danny. Oh, I don't know.
- 53:13That sounds very Dougie. Yeah, I'll do the last one as
- 53:21Tom. I suppose I'm just.
- 53:23OK. I'm just going to own it.
- 53:24I've once wanted to fly on stage and just carried on singing.
- 53:27You've gone Danny. You are incorrect.
- 53:32What a surprise. Was it Tom?
- 53:34It was Tom. Yeah, that was my one.
- 53:38It was Tom. Yeah, OK #2 I'm basically a 12
- 53:44year old in a 30 year old's body.
- 53:46You went with Dougie. You are incorrect.
- 53:52It was Danny Jones. Oh, true, he is.
- 53:58This is probably Dougie then. I used to think I was cool.
- 54:03Then I joined McFly. You went for Harry.
- 54:05You are incorrect, Dougie. It was Dougie.
- 54:13And finally, we're not cool. We've never been cool.
- 54:15We've accepted it. You chose Tom.
- 54:17It was Harry. So unfortunately, Shannon, zero
- 54:21out of four again. This is what I get for not
- 54:25overthinking it. Do you even know McFly?
- 54:27Do you know who they are? Are you?
- 54:28Are you sure you're a fan? Don't say that, don't say that.
- 54:34We don't want that on here. We don't know who we who they
- 54:39are. We're just big fans and we're
- 54:41the our favourite band. We haven't got a clue.
- 54:43Here they are. It's fine.
- 54:45It was hard. I won't I, you know what, you're
- 54:47going to do this for me next time and I'm probably going to
- 54:49get them all wrong as well. So I'll be like I just said, not
- 54:51walking the walk. I appreciate you trying to make
- 54:54me feel better but 5 minutes ago you said I've made this one
- 54:57really easy for you and I've just said it's OK it was hard.
- 55:02I thought it was going to be a bit easy because I remember
- 55:04reading the interview about him swallowing a family.
- 55:07I think it was doing the rounds on TikTok maybe last year or
- 55:10something. I thought that I used to think I
- 55:14was cool. Then I joined McFly was quite
- 55:16easy because I thought that's definitely a Dougie thing to
- 55:19say. Yeah.
- 55:20So that. Is a Dougie thing but he is also
- 55:21a 12 year old and 30 year olds body.
- 55:23I so that was the only thing I thought you would struggle with
- 55:26those two. I thought the last one would
- 55:27probably be pretty simple because Harry is a bit more like
- 55:30Blase isn't He's like, that's fine.
- 55:32We're we've accepted it, I think.
- 55:35Yeah, I think two of them were probably easy.
- 55:38Maybe the other two not so much. So I'll let you off.
- 55:40But you know, it's all good. It's all good.
- 55:43I'm proud of you for trying. I'm here.
- 55:46Practise. Practise makes progress.
- 55:48Shannon. OK.
- 55:49Just makes progress. At least I turned up, you know?
- 55:52Exactly. You arrived today.
- 55:54You give it a go, you give it your best shot.
- 55:57That's all that matters. Oh dear.
- 56:00So you may have seen these questions on our Instagram
- 56:05earlier this week. We hopefully, if we didn't
- 56:07forget, should have posted them on our page for you to have a go
- 56:10at. So now you know the answers.
- 56:12Let us know whether you've got any right or whether you're just
- 56:15as terrible a fan of Shannon and got zero out of four.
- 56:18Us forget. Me what?
- 56:21Terrible. We didn't have to have a
- 56:23calendar, so we remembered to post things.
- 56:27No, no, no. Not us, not us, not at all.
- 56:32And just like that, here we are at the end of another episode.
- 56:35Thank you so much for being here for following along.
- 56:38And if you aren't already, do make sure you're following us on
- 56:41on socials. It's at Galaxy Crashes Podcast
- 56:44and we're on TikTok and Instagram.

- 56:50that is bound to break everyone hearts.
- 56:52It's without you for now, keep your playlist loud.
- 56:57And happiness in your hearts. Goodbye.
