GIANTS POSTCAST: LATE GAME MISTAKES Lead to Extra Innings Loss
The San Francisco Giants were one strike away from a win tonight, but multiple mistakes in the 9th inning let the Houston Astros tie it up and eventually win in extra innings, 6-3, at Oracle Park. Walks and wild pitches made a massive difference, as the game-tying run reached via walk and moved into scoring position after a wild pitch before a Cam Smith single drove in Nick Allen. The bullpen's collapse spoiled yet another night at the yard as Blade Tidwell, Drew Gilbert, and other developing players performed well in the team's 70th loss of the season.
