- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, hot angel faces, we are coming to you.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Live from Hawaii North Shore.
- 0:16Speaker 3: I was gonna expect some hula tunes from off key.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Just say hi, my love, Hi man, Hi baby, you guys,
- 0:25Speaker 1: welcome back to the Give them All a Podcast. I
- 0:29Speaker 1: this was really really hard to do because I wake
- 0:32Speaker 1: up and I look outside and just the vibe makes
- 0:35Speaker 1: me want to put a swimsuit on, shut out.
- 0:37Speaker 2: The world and do nothing all the live long day.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I apologize for making you do this.
- 0:43Speaker 2: No, I love doing the podcast.
- 0:45Speaker 1: There's just something about the environment in Hawaii, like yesterday
- 0:48Speaker 1: or over there.
- 0:49Speaker 3: You don't want to work, ever, No.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I don't.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I want to open up a food truck and decide
- 0:55Speaker 1: the days that I want to be open that they've
- 0:56Speaker 1: got it figured out.
- 0:58Speaker 4: And I don't even want to do a food truck.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I want to move, do you Sorry?
- 1:02Speaker 1: You guys, This pot is maybe a little bit chaotic
- 1:04Speaker 1: because we're obviously when you watch the YouTube video that
- 1:09Speaker 1: drops Friday, you'll see that we're in our amazing home
- 1:14Speaker 1: with the most fantastic view. Ocean has found seashells that
- 1:17Speaker 1: she wants to run under the water. So you may
- 1:20Speaker 1: have a little voice popping in you may hear babies crying,
- 1:24Speaker 1: but you know what, it's all good. I want you
- 1:26Speaker 1: to mentally just be on the beach right now. I
- 1:31Speaker 1: have Easton obviously, I have my mother.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Who did you have a list of things you want
- 1:36Speaker 2: to talk about?
- 1:37Speaker 4: I do have a list, but I got to get
- 1:38Speaker 4: my phone. I forgot my phone.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. She's a rookie.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So since we last spoke to you, guys, it was Thanksgiving,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving that was
- 1:51Speaker 1: just full of thanks and love and full bellies and giving.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I know that sometimes the holidays roll around, and we've
- 2:01Speaker 1: spoken about this before t T where it's like once
- 2:04Speaker 1: you are in this zone of like you're now the parent,
- 2:10Speaker 1: so you are the one that's having to figure out
- 2:13Speaker 1: the Thanksgiving menu, or you're the one who's trying to
- 2:15Speaker 1: figure out like what gifts are from Jijs, what gifts
- 2:18Speaker 1: are from me? We all want to stay clean. I
- 2:20Speaker 1: don't really want to give credit to Santa Claus. I
- 2:22Speaker 1: spoke about that last year. I'm like, I'm buying great
- 2:25Speaker 1: gifts from Santa, but Mom wants the credit. So I
- 2:29Speaker 1: know that the holidays they take a shift as you
- 2:32Speaker 1: get older and your families grow. But I think overall
- 2:36Speaker 1: we had a great Thanksgiving.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Truly it was the best. Yeah, it was the best.
- 2:42Speaker 2: What was your favorite part about it?
- 2:44Speaker 4: Mom? It was like local, it was not pressure.
- 2:49Speaker 3: See. That's what I've loved about our Thanksgivings and holidays
- 2:52Speaker 3: is I feel like everybody puts such a we need
- 2:55Speaker 3: to make it of the experience and what is it
- 2:59Speaker 3: a rich We have to make it a ritual, so
- 3:01Speaker 3: it has to be great every year it has to
- 3:03Speaker 3: be and it's like it is a.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Ritual something that like, uh, which is s do? I
- 3:08Speaker 2: think it's tradition, our tradition. Oh, it is okay to
- 3:12Speaker 2: keep going.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Whatever it may be. But I feel like so many
- 3:15Speaker 3: people are like, but I need it great for my
- 3:17Speaker 3: kids so they remember and then they give it to
- 3:19Speaker 3: their kids, and it's like, you're you're reaching too far.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Just no plans are the best plans.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Can I tell you why it feels different for me?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Do tell because the holidays just hit it differently.
- 3:33Speaker 2: When I don't wake up and get a buzz on.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I got a.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Starla, it just doesn't have to say it was like
- 3:42Speaker 1: a great.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Did you get a placebo effect?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah? It was a great day.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So we popped bottles on Thanksgiving, we popped Starla sparkling
- 3:53Speaker 1: rose and there was just something living in Utah and
- 3:56Speaker 1: it was like cold outside and my dad would already
- 3:59Speaker 1: be awake, and you had like these special hand painted
- 4:01Speaker 1: glasses that were short.
- 4:03Speaker 2: What are they called calm?
- 4:05Speaker 1: What is the flutes?
- 4:06Speaker 2: No, the glasses that are short, what do you call them?
- 4:09Speaker 1: I just call them short glasses? Short cocktail glasses. And
- 4:11Speaker 1: it was just like with the stems, right, No, that's
- 4:14Speaker 1: a that's a.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Oh, because that was my favorite because then you'd pick
- 4:17Speaker 3: your little trinket and put it around the stems.
- 4:20Speaker 4: You're talking about a wine glass, yeah, or like a flue, yes.
- 4:23Speaker 2: But there's something.
- 4:25Speaker 1: There was something about having dad make me that first
- 4:28Speaker 1: drink in the morning before cooking just screams, it's the holiday,
- 4:32Speaker 1: let's effing go, bitch.
- 4:34Speaker 3: No, that's the one thing that I got of land
- 4:37Speaker 3: and just sitting there just looking at his tragger, looking
- 4:40Speaker 3: at his turkey coat, like damn.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Landon cooked the turkey.
- 4:45Speaker 3: For us and it was fantastic.
- 4:48Speaker 2: What were you in charge of, mom?
- 4:50Speaker 4: Sweet potatoes?
- 4:50Speaker 3: Oh?
- 4:51Speaker 2: They were fantastic this year. Thank you, Lisa.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I trippled the topping this year.
- 4:57Speaker 1: A good choice is my favorite for the people who
- 5:00Speaker 1: have written in to say, like, please send me the
- 5:03Speaker 1: recipe for the sweet potatoes your mom makes that you
- 5:06Speaker 1: guys rave about and I wish that I could, But
- 5:08Speaker 1: you don't even follow a recipe? Do you just kind
- 5:10Speaker 1: of like go for it?
- 5:11Speaker 4: No, I have a recipe we can post.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Really, yeah, I'd really appreciate that, because people ask all
- 5:17Speaker 1: the time. I was in charge of the green beans
- 5:20Speaker 1: and carrots, and they were Mam Pratt and Joe, you.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Did a phenomenal job on that.
- 5:25Speaker 3: You really did, You really did. They were fantastic.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I added butter and olive oil and just so they're.
- 5:34Speaker 3: All whipping and stuff. And you literally cut a carrot
- 5:36Speaker 3: down the side, put it on a tray all of oiling,
- 5:38Speaker 3: slit it in the up fantastic tape.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You're such a dick.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I didn't do anything.
- 5:44Speaker 1: We know, shocker standard for Easton sit around and look
- 5:49Speaker 1: pretty all day.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I sit around the pretty thing.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So I decided because I dressed Sosa up in this
- 5:56Speaker 1: little turkey outfit. It was like a knitted, handmade turkey
- 6:00Speaker 1: hat and the bottoms had like the little ruffle of
- 6:03Speaker 1: the turkey in the back and Janet gave it to
- 6:06Speaker 1: me and she said, I got this for Cam last year,
- 6:08Speaker 1: but he was still bacon in the oven like a
- 6:12Speaker 1: turkey and he couldn't wear it.
- 6:14Speaker 3: All I do know is there's some mayhem going on
- 6:17Speaker 3: behind me. But I'm gonna video what Ocean is doing.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And I just.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Doesn't drop the sea glass and the guards.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Don't worry about it. But go on, we'll get Lisa.
- 6:26Speaker 4: She's I want the sea glass.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So I post this carousel. We'll get you your sea glass.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I post this carousel of photos and I'm so proud
- 6:35Speaker 1: of it. And I I go in to retouch Ocean's
- 6:40Speaker 1: teeth of her holding sauce in her turkey outfit, and
- 6:44Speaker 1: I just couldn't make it look like it wasn't super
- 6:47Speaker 1: edited all right, So I'm like whatever, and I post
- 6:50Speaker 1: it almost immediately. And by the way, when did that
- 6:53Speaker 1: accident happen with Ocean? I spoke about it on the podcast.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Oh months ago.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It was before school started in lie so it probably
- 7:01Speaker 2: happened in.
- 7:01Speaker 1: June where Ocean fell face first on her bike, not
- 7:06Speaker 1: in my care but at the other house.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And I got a text that just said like, hey,
- 7:11Speaker 2: by the way, where was it at my dad's house?
- 7:14Speaker 2: That's right? And and it was threedy, yeah, so much.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And it turned to gray. Yeah, but they're beautiful.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But they were white, yes, yeah they were. And what color?
- 7:28Speaker 4: What color's teeth?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yellow?
- 7:32Speaker 4: Get the biggest kick out of that yellow?
- 7:35Speaker 3: What color?
- 7:36Speaker 4: Mama's what?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Ah? Do you get an A today?
- 7:40Speaker 3: What color? Are techies hit? You better think.
- 7:48Speaker 2: She gets an A from us?
- 7:50Speaker 1: So she I get a text from my axent just
- 7:52Speaker 1: says her lip is busted, so just be where when
- 7:55Speaker 1: you pick her up.
- 7:56Speaker 2: When I pick her up, her lip is very busted.
- 7:59Speaker 1: But then and I look at her two front teeth,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and I noticed that the gums are bloody, and so
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm keeping an eye on them.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And the moment they.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Start turning a color, which they're gorgeous ocean. Well, actually,
- 8:12Speaker 1: Lisa calls and we tell the dentist what happened, and
- 8:15Speaker 1: they said, are they turning a color? You need to
- 8:17Speaker 1: come in immediately. And I'm like, oh great, it's been
- 8:20Speaker 1: like a couple weeks. They said, Luckily, there's no damage
- 8:24Speaker 1: to there's damage to the room, but it's not dead,
- 8:26Speaker 1: so keep an eye on it. If she complains about
- 8:29Speaker 1: them every single day, because they said often. I said,
- 8:31Speaker 1: what's often, and they said, like every single day. She
- 8:34Speaker 1: says that they're hurting, because then we're going to have
- 8:37Speaker 1: to figure out what to do with them. So in
- 8:40Speaker 1: my mind, I'm like, I'm editing these teeth. Number one,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'm vain. I am a teeth person. I wanted just
- 8:48Speaker 1: to have cute, little white teeth.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Well, she had such cute white teeth.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And there's still the cutest, cutest, yes, cute.
- 8:56Speaker 1: People were commenting, so obviously I edit and edit them
- 9:02Speaker 1: for that reason. But also I was editing them because
- 9:07Speaker 1: of the comment section the common Center.
- 9:09Speaker 3: It's win or there's no win. In either way you
- 9:13Speaker 3: would have gone no.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So I post the carousel and immediately with that photo up,
- 9:21Speaker 1: people start talking about my child's teeth, and I don't
- 9:26Speaker 1: want to say you all, but some of you squares
- 9:28Speaker 1: are like, you know, it's a bottle rot, which someone
- 9:32Speaker 1: described as too much sugar.
- 9:33Speaker 2: That's absolutely untrue.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Bottle row is when you give a child with teeth
- 9:36Speaker 1: a bottle before bed and the milk sits there and
- 9:39Speaker 1: rots the teeth. My child hasn't had a bottle in years.
- 9:42Speaker 1: The other thing was she eats too much sugar, or
- 9:46Speaker 1: they're not brushing her teeth, or it's a fluoride issue.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So the comment section is full of people like talking
- 9:51Speaker 1: about my child's teeth, and immediately I'm like, I'm posty
- 9:55Speaker 1: about this, but did.
- 9:56Speaker 4: They show you their their dental license?
- 9:59Speaker 1: None of them were, by the way, They're all just
- 10:01Speaker 1: people sitting on Instagram bored on Thanksgiving, I knowing trolling.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So I then go on and repost it with Ocean
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I talk about the accident, and I admit to
- 10:13Speaker 1: editing them in some photos, and I say, go ahead
- 10:15Speaker 1: and judge me, and you certainly did?
- 10:18Speaker 2: You? Certainly did? I just get what is it?
- 10:22Speaker 3: At what point can you win?
- 10:23Speaker 1: And it's like, okay, well, I just wanted to avoid
- 10:25Speaker 1: the whole thing, so that's why I would edit them.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And now people are saying that I sent some people
- 10:32Speaker 1: that I send the wrong message by editing her teeth. Okay,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't know which is the wronger message, me doing
- 10:41Speaker 1: that and moving on with my day and my child
- 10:44Speaker 1: looking back when she's older and asking why did you
- 10:47Speaker 1: not edit my teeth? Because that's what will happen, just
- 10:49Speaker 1: like I wish my mom would have pinned my ears
- 10:51Speaker 1: back in photos when I was a child, because I
- 10:53Speaker 1: would have had much cuter photos to submit. But it's
- 10:56Speaker 1: okay they didn't have that technology back then. Or is
- 10:59Speaker 1: it more of a mind f to have a comment
- 11:04Speaker 1: section for a child to look back on where you
- 11:06Speaker 1: guys are talking about her teeth of rotting out of
- 11:08Speaker 1: her face, Like.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I could not believe that it was such an uproar.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I would look at you and say, thank you for
- 11:14Speaker 3: wipening my teeth.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Well that's what I That's what I thought was.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Just being bottom rot. You're gonna get main called at
- 11:22Speaker 3: school for that.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Well, by the way, when she started school, I walked
- 11:25Speaker 1: in and I was like, Hi, I'm while I'm Ocean's mom.
- 11:28Speaker 1: She has two little full front teeth. She fell because
- 11:34Speaker 1: I was like so insecure that they were going to
- 11:36Speaker 1: think that it was me and I wasn't even there
- 11:39Speaker 1: during the accident.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Did the comment section make you think it was you?
- 11:43Speaker 3: Is that why? No?
- 11:44Speaker 2: I didn't think it was me at all.
- 11:46Speaker 1: But yeah, when they're saying that, like, she's not getting
- 11:47Speaker 1: in a fluorite, she has a fantastic diet and we
- 11:50Speaker 1: brush thoroughly, so that also happened on Thanksgiving and I
- 11:55Speaker 1: was like, spiraling about it.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Do you remember, Mom?
- 11:57Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked about it until you.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Just I just don't know why people have to be negative.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I don't know because you've said it misery loves Company.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Actually there were a few comments that were like, that's
- 12:09Speaker 1: not what happened. There's trauma to the two front teeth.
- 12:12Speaker 1: My son did this. It was always the sun. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: so a few of the messages that I got in
- 12:17Speaker 1: my DMS that got through I responded to because they
- 12:20Speaker 1: were like, don't listen to anybody.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I totally get it.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And I said, you know, this seems very common in
- 12:26Speaker 1: like daredevil children, and Ocean is a dare devil.
- 12:30Speaker 4: She's the biggest daredevil. She gives me a heart attack
- 12:33Speaker 4: every single day.
- 12:34Speaker 1: No, it's terrifying and every and there's usually a moment
- 12:37Speaker 1: every day that she goes for her mouth again and
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm like, these teeth are going to be black by
- 12:41Speaker 1: the time she.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, she has no fear, zero fear, and even if
- 12:46Speaker 3: she falls or gets hit, she has We were at
- 12:48Speaker 3: the playground. She was doing the monkey bars falls because
- 12:52Speaker 3: she did it with nobody near her, because it's who
- 12:54Speaker 3: she is, falls straight on her back, cries for maybe
- 12:58Speaker 3: two minutes back to the monk key bars. Yeah didn't
- 13:01Speaker 3: even fly.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But no, it didn't face her at all. But that's
- 13:05Speaker 1: just who she is, and you know what, I have
- 13:07Speaker 1: to embrace. My anxiety level is very high every single day,
- 13:11Speaker 1: to the point where I'm like, do I need a
- 13:12Speaker 1: beta blocker just to deal with this child? Because it's terrifying.
- 13:18Speaker 2: But you're so sweet and cute.
- 13:25Speaker 1: The flight to Hawaiian Let's get to Hawaii because that's
- 13:27Speaker 1: what I really want to talk about. Now that I've
- 13:29Speaker 1: purged about the teeth comments, I've been sitting on that
- 13:31Speaker 1: for a week.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I'm like, I can't wait to get on the pod Adventus.
- 13:36Speaker 3: No one is more excited that you got this off
- 13:39Speaker 3: at your chest than us because we don't hearing about
- 13:41Speaker 3: it since Thanksgiving.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 13:44Speaker 1: So we get to the We get to the airport
- 13:47Speaker 1: at how Manys before five.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Our flight was supposed to take off at five point
- 13:53Speaker 4: fifty five. We left at two two and got there
- 13:56Speaker 4: at three.
- 13:59Speaker 3: We are there. You're right, you're right.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But I've never traveled with two kids before, one being
- 14:07Speaker 1: three months old. It just seemed like a hard thing
- 14:09Speaker 1: to do. So I was glad that we left early.
- 14:11Speaker 1: We go into the lounge, we eat, I feed the baby,
- 14:15Speaker 1: We get all teed up, get to the gate, and
- 14:18Speaker 1: the pilot.
- 14:19Speaker 2: The pilot is late.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and delay flight coming in not the pilot's fault.
- 14:24Speaker 1: He's late from Vegas. I'm like, oh my god. And
- 14:29Speaker 1: the woman across from me, who lives in Hawaii, she's like.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I bet he's drunk. Like, don't say that. What do
- 14:36Speaker 2: you mean when you think he's drunk? I was terripping.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I prayed about a million times.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And then I thought of Ricky Gervais where he's an
- 14:45Speaker 1: atheist and doesn't believe.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And I'm like, am I praying to anybody?
- 14:47Speaker 3: Oh my god?
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm up in arms about this? Really very chaotic.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Anyway, he arrives, We get on the plane. You guys,
- 14:55Speaker 1: when I tell you, well, first of all, I was
- 14:58Speaker 1: about to pull a Lisa Barlowe.
- 14:59Speaker 2: I did pull Lisa Barlowe. We walked through the plane.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I look at everyone in first class, laid back in
- 15:05Speaker 1: their seats in a lie flat. And I immediately when
- 15:09Speaker 1: we sit down in our seats, because we were in
- 15:11Speaker 1: like comfort plus or whatever, right, And I told my mom.
- 15:14Speaker 1: If there's ever a version of life Flat on a
- 15:16Speaker 1: flight this long, you must get it.
- 15:18Speaker 4: But Lisa's a budget prices and I said, Uhner, we're
- 15:23Speaker 4: going Comfort Plus.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because she's all about but you had plenty of
- 15:27Speaker 1: leg room. I'm like, it's not about the leg room,
- 15:28Speaker 1: it's about the lying downs.
- 15:30Speaker 4: We were the next like it was ended first class,
- 15:34Speaker 4: and then we were right behind them.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I it doesn't matter.
- 15:36Speaker 3: You can't lay down in the first class.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You can't lay down.
- 15:40Speaker 3: My back was wrenched.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Well, look at your check book and you'll be glad
- 15:43Speaker 4: you were in Comfort Plus.
- 15:45Speaker 3: All right, that right there, Lisa, that's where you get
- 15:47Speaker 3: the win.
- 15:48Speaker 2: All right, I'm fine with it.
- 15:49Speaker 1: We got here, but I did pull Lisa barlow I
- 15:52Speaker 1: sit down in my seat and I wait for people
- 15:54Speaker 1: to pass, and then there's like a lull in people
- 15:56Speaker 1: coming on the plane, and I whip my head around and.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I go, if you ever put us in action again,
- 16:02Speaker 2: I'm going to be.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Pissed and I will lie flat.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Life flat.
- 16:06Speaker 3: It was law.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I will be putting us in depending on how much
- 16:11Speaker 4: it is.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Well. I felt like Lisa Barlowe because she complained about
- 16:15Speaker 1: first class, and I just saw a video of her
- 16:16Speaker 1: today and the reporter asked, do you regret freaking out
- 16:20Speaker 1: about the first class, because absolutely not.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I mean, she compromised my lifestyle.
- 16:28Speaker 4: We ever looked at a first class coming from a
- 16:32Speaker 4: podunk like dunks.
- 16:34Speaker 3: She came from Bulk Springs, where you love to go.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I love, But I'm saying, have you been on one
- 16:44Speaker 4: of those flights? Is no first class?
- 16:46Speaker 2: No, there's literally no first class. You can.
- 16:51Speaker 3: The first four seats.
- 16:53Speaker 1: No, it's like a little over an hour, not worth it.
- 16:56Speaker 1: But I mean to get to Hawaii it was what
- 16:57Speaker 1: four and a half. I mean, let me tell you,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I won't even go to New York if I if
- 17:01Speaker 1: I'm not in a lie flat. And it's not because
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm bougie. It's because I get nauseated. So if I'm
- 17:06Speaker 1: not laying down in sleeping then I.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Will be sick.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's fine. Here's the silver lining, not say.
- 17:16Speaker 4: How I can sleep on a board. So for me,
- 17:19Speaker 4: I was very comfortable. This is Lisa, And I'm sorry
- 17:24Speaker 4: I called it a po dunk flight.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Yes, Sosa did not make a peep on that flight,
- 17:30Speaker 1: not one. And Ocean was absolutely fantastic. And I noticed
- 17:34Speaker 1: the people next to us. When we got on the
- 17:37Speaker 1: plane and sat down, we're looking.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Like, oh no, they were dreading, dreading. They immediately put
- 17:44Speaker 2: their headphones on.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Before the TVs could even be turned on, they had
- 17:48Speaker 1: headphones ready to go. We get off the plane and
- 17:51Speaker 1: he goes, wow, I am so impressed by your kids.
- 17:54Speaker 2: They didn't make a peep. I was like, nope, I know.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And then I looked at Sosa and I was like,
- 17:59Speaker 1: remember this two more weeks and we're going to act
- 18:01Speaker 1: this exact same way. Because I had a conversation with
- 18:04Speaker 1: her before we got on the flight. I looked at
- 18:06Speaker 1: her while she was on the boom and I said, girl,
- 18:08Speaker 1: we're a team here. We're not going to ruin the
- 18:10Speaker 1: flight for everybody. It's a long flight. I got your
- 18:12Speaker 1: back if you have mine. And she gave me a
- 18:14Speaker 1: big smile, and I just knew we were off to
- 18:16Speaker 1: the races.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It was going to be smooth sailing.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Well, there's no one that hates a baby crying on
- 18:20Speaker 3: a plane more than me.
- 18:20Speaker 2: So more than anybody.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Oh and we went to the restaurant in Hawaii, and
- 18:25Speaker 4: remember the lady that had the two week how old
- 18:29Speaker 4: was the baby six weeks old? Yeah, and they had
- 18:32Speaker 4: a witching hour for two hours.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Two hours on the plane ride here, the baby cried
- 18:37Speaker 1: for two hours. I was like, oh my gosh, you
- 18:40Speaker 1: know that would have been ocean though, Lisa, what did
- 18:44Speaker 1: you learn from the flight.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Didn't you hear a flight attendant say something rad on
- 18:49Speaker 2: my brain that you said? You didn't say it to her,
- 18:52Speaker 2: but the flight attendants got on the m oh.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Oh oh, yes, yes, yes. So we we get on
- 18:58Speaker 4: the plane, we put our overhead compartment, luggage whatever. And
- 19:02Speaker 4: then she gets on the intercomm and says, if it's
- 19:05Speaker 4: full above, you close it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: It's like at Neir, you close it. That's your job,
- 19:10Speaker 3: Like no, no.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So my whole thing is it's like yes when when
- 19:16Speaker 1: someone is trying to cut corners when it's their job,
- 19:20Speaker 1: Because I look at jobs and think, okay, so like
- 19:23Speaker 1: what does your job entail? Right?
- 19:25Speaker 2: But I can't.
- 19:27Speaker 1: This is where I get very Larry David, where I'm like,
- 19:29Speaker 1: I can't get back my time, right. So if it
- 19:34Speaker 1: makes everyone board the plane a little bit faster or no,
- 19:38Speaker 1: but here's where the other way, if it's closed and
- 19:41Speaker 1: the whole plane hasn't boarded yet, you want to know
- 19:44Speaker 1: where the time is going to be wasted open people
- 19:46Speaker 1: opening to look in it, thank you, So I think
- 19:49Speaker 1: that they should all be opened, and then the steward
- 19:52Speaker 1: is and then as weird right, and they I.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Loved when they walk down and they just shut everything.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Every single one and they're so good at it.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Well, they don't have a position a bag. It's like tetris.
- 20:04Speaker 2: But I thought that that was a very interesting point.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Was like, I hate flying, and I don't know if
- 20:09Speaker 3: everybody flies a lot, but I get yelled at for
- 20:11Speaker 3: how I put my bag every time, because now the
- 20:13Speaker 3: planes are different. Some are they slide straight. In new
- 20:18Speaker 3: ones you tilt right, and every time I tilted sideways,
- 20:21Speaker 3: it doesn't tell me anymore. And they're like these lie
- 20:23Speaker 3: down flat.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So a friend of mine, I'm oh, hi, sus is
- 20:29Speaker 2: that the baby.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Baby was crying, So now we have a getment with
- 20:34Speaker 3: us because that's how it's looking here in Hawaii.
- 20:36Speaker 2: But she's probably gonna get hungry, so just bear with me.
- 20:39Speaker 1: But I had a friend of mine who was showing
- 20:42Speaker 1: me an instagram of this really hot guy and I
- 20:45Speaker 1: was like, dude, why have you not thought of.
- 20:48Speaker 2: This person for me before?
- 20:50Speaker 1: And he's like, well, he lives in Hawaii, and I'm like,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I'm going to Hawaii.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Well he lives like on the North Shore, and I'm like,
- 20:58Speaker 2: we're going to the north Sure.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So we arrive at the airport, we go into the
- 21:02Speaker 1: lounge and there he is just sitting there looking fine.
- 21:09Speaker 1: But it was crazy to me how even though I
- 21:13Speaker 1: have a hard time like trusting dudes or whatever, like
- 21:19Speaker 1: energy is such a big thing and I didn't like
- 21:21Speaker 1: his energy. Yeah, because Mom was convinced he was going
- 21:25Speaker 1: to be my husband just based off of his Instagram yep.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I was like, oh, no, you sound insane, really, yes, Mom,
- 21:33Speaker 1: When you tell me that he's gonna be my husband
- 21:35Speaker 1: and all you've seen is an Instagram photo, it reminds
- 21:38Speaker 1: me of Tinsley.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Mortimer and her mom. Remember when they cry over the eggs.
- 21:42Speaker 2: They're not even.
- 21:48Speaker 1: When we start trying on dresses that will never have it,
- 21:51Speaker 1: because then we've gone regards.
- 21:57Speaker 2: It's still insane.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Because if you're there, we have truly lost our minds.
- 22:03Speaker 1: But you know, I talked about this with you after
- 22:06Speaker 1: we concocted, well you concocted in your mind that this
- 22:10Speaker 1: perfectly shaped man would be my future husband. That it's
- 22:15Speaker 1: gonna be hard for me to find a partner for this.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Why why would it be hard for you to find
- 22:22Speaker 4: a partner. You have your mom living with you and
- 22:25Speaker 4: your brother.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Why would that be hard?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Well, the reason it's gonna be hard is not because
- 22:31Speaker 1: of the family structure. And look, here's all of my bagga,
- 22:38Speaker 1: the best kind, you're Louis Vauton. But I was thinking
- 22:45Speaker 1: about it and I'm like, Okay, there's one person that
- 22:48Speaker 1: I can think of besides my ex, but one person
- 22:50Speaker 1: who I gave a shot to, probably when Ocean was
- 22:54Speaker 1: a year and a half, and I remember being at
- 22:56Speaker 1: Shutters and he had like gone go and I was
- 23:01Speaker 1: in it, like I could not believe that I had
- 23:02Speaker 1: let my guard down to that point. And I remember
- 23:05Speaker 1: not even being able to enjoy Ocean or where we
- 23:08Speaker 1: were because of this stupid, freaking guy. And so now
- 23:14Speaker 1: I think about dudes, and I'm like, because my mom's
- 23:16Speaker 1: like in twenty twenty five, I want you to go out,
- 23:18Speaker 1: I want you to start dating. I want you to
- 23:19Speaker 1: try and find your person because you deserve that. And
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'm like, when my kids are this age, I'm not
- 23:24Speaker 1: even going to risk going out and having a dude
- 23:27Speaker 1: come in who could potentially make me feel some type
- 23:31Speaker 1: of way to where my heart hurts. You've clogged my
- 23:34Speaker 1: mind and now I can't enjoy my babies. So it
- 23:37Speaker 1: actually worked out that I looked at this guy who
- 23:39Speaker 1: Lisa was planning our wedding on the North Shore with
- 23:43Speaker 1: on this trip because me going the vibe is off.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my gosh, my gut is working for me,
- 23:50Speaker 1: and people are gonna be like, ah, you didn't like
- 23:53Speaker 1: him because he liked someone else. But then I look
- 23:55Speaker 1: over in the corner and he's like found this girl
- 23:58Speaker 1: that he's like getting a little buzzed with, and I'm like, and.
- 24:01Speaker 2: My gut was right. How does someone find someone at
- 24:05Speaker 2: an airport? Is that normal?
- 24:08Speaker 4: I don't know. You'd have to ask him. I've never
- 24:12Speaker 4: done it.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I walked over.
- 24:15Speaker 1: He's already cheating on it.
- 24:18Speaker 3: The hitting on a girl at the airport. What are
- 24:21Speaker 3: the odds you live in the same place and long
- 24:24Speaker 3: distance reationships.
- 24:26Speaker 2: The best kind, you're never around.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Oh good cheating. It is so great. I know.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Good cheating all right.
- 24:32Speaker 1: So we've arrived in the North Shore and Eastern decides
- 24:35Speaker 1: that he wants to get a scooter scoot scoot, and
- 24:38Speaker 1: I told him a million and one times, I don't
- 24:41Speaker 1: like scooters. I don't have a good feeling about this.
- 24:43Speaker 1: And then my mom expressed it heavily. What's the thing
- 24:46Speaker 1: about scoot scoots?
- 24:47Speaker 3: You guys have a bad feeling about anything. If I
- 24:50Speaker 3: get in the ocean, you're gonna have a bad feeling
- 24:52Speaker 3: about me getting eaten by Cheryl.
- 24:53Speaker 4: But I really really had a bad feeling. I really
- 24:57Speaker 4: drilled it into did I not.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Know you did? But it wasn't rain. I was going slow.
- 25:01Speaker 3: It was fifteen to twenty miles.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Mom said, I have
- 25:06Speaker 1: a bad feeling. I don't want you on the scooter.
- 25:08Speaker 1: It's getting dark, it's blah blah blah.
- 25:11Speaker 2: So you didn't go. But the next day, the next day,
- 25:14Speaker 2: the next day.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I went. So I get my scoot. I'm having a blast.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I'm going into town. It's a two way or two
- 25:22Speaker 3: way way, two.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Way traffic coming opposite in traffic going where she so.
- 25:27Speaker 3: In Hawaii, there's a lot of pull offs to the
- 25:29Speaker 3: right where you can go to beaches and all of that. Well,
- 25:32Speaker 3: the car in front of me pulled off to the right,
- 25:34Speaker 3: and started slowing down, so I did the same. He
- 25:38Speaker 3: pulled out in front of the lane to parallel park
- 25:42Speaker 3: and or like back in, and I swung into oncoming
- 25:47Speaker 3: traffic to miss him. And there was oncoming traffic. So
- 25:52Speaker 3: the next thing I thought was lay it down, because
- 25:55Speaker 3: if I didn't, I was gonna go over the hood.
- 25:57Speaker 3: So I laid it down. I scraped up the whole back.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Once the like the bars hit it yanked my shoulder
- 26:05Speaker 3: out of place. I had to pop it back in
- 26:07Speaker 3: by itself. And meanwhile I'm asking everyone else if they're okay.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's classic Easton though. It's like he just got
- 26:15Speaker 1: wrecked on this scooter.
- 26:16Speaker 3: And it's called Beach Front, Beach House, Beach House.
- 26:20Speaker 1: It's a very very cute like outdoor restaurant. And Ethan
- 26:25Speaker 1: said most of the patio like flew out to the
- 26:27Speaker 1: street to make sure he was okay.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Yeah, which I really appreciate it.
- 26:31Speaker 3: No, it was great, But and then I was just
- 26:33Speaker 3: in shock, So I wasn't like just standing around. I
- 26:35Speaker 3: like got the scooter up, made sure everything was okay,
- 26:37Speaker 3: and then I just like started it and I go
- 26:39Speaker 3: all right, I just left.
- 26:41Speaker 2: But at some point you went into shock and into
- 26:44Speaker 2: shock beach.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I went into shock, like while I was driving,
- 26:48Speaker 3: and I knew I was in shock when like I
- 26:50Speaker 3: couldn't feel the wind on me while driving. That's when
- 26:54Speaker 3: I knew I was in shock. Holed over and I
- 26:56Speaker 3: laid down on.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Just like the grass.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Yeah, just to catch your breath.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Just to catch my breath. So then after that, I
- 27:04Speaker 3: came home. Lauren, she goes. She yelled my name twice,
- 27:08Speaker 3: I guess, and then the third time screamed it and
- 27:10Speaker 3: I said what.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And because I heard the door open, I was like,
- 27:13Speaker 1: oh my gosh, someone is here to murder us because
- 27:15Speaker 1: he wasn't answering.
- 27:17Speaker 2: And then when I came out, you looked shook up.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Your eyes were just like that.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Yeah. I was like, y yeah, Well, I was just thinking, like,
- 27:24Speaker 3: of every the best scenario happened of laying it down,
- 27:28Speaker 3: it was either hitting somebody on coming and going into
- 27:31Speaker 3: their windshield or going over the guy's hood and then
- 27:35Speaker 3: scraping more So I picked the best of it.
- 27:38Speaker 4: It's like you and you fall off the horse, you
- 27:39Speaker 4: gotta get right back.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah, So I'm gonna get right back.
- 27:42Speaker 4: You got some major road rash.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It feels great.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, no, but Easton had even though that was a
- 27:48Speaker 1: rough day. Two days later, apparently he.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Lost his.
- 27:54Speaker 3: So I crashed so hard. I lost my airphone, my AirPod. Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 3: so I lost my AirPod. So I was driving back
- 28:00Speaker 3: and I was like, I am just gonna see it.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So I drive. I see the air pod on the ground.
- 28:07Speaker 3: It has weathered rain, so I grab it. I'm scootering
- 28:11Speaker 3: just holding my AirPod, airing it out. And as I'm
- 28:14Speaker 3: doing that, I put it down. And as I put
- 28:17Speaker 3: it down, I see silver earring and it goes.
- 28:20Speaker 2: In my dreadlock and it has diamonds.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And it's a diamond. It's yours, That's why. And I
- 28:25Speaker 3: found that. I my gosh, I could have another day
- 28:31Speaker 3: just thinking about it.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You guys. He was so excited that I looked at
- 28:36Speaker 2: him and I was like.
- 28:37Speaker 3: She goes, are you drinking drinking? But no, I was.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I can't tell you because I lost the one earring.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Don't know where it went. And I loved this one
- 28:46Speaker 3: just because it was moms and it's sentimental to me.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Now, so ye are the chances of you finding.
- 28:53Speaker 3: And they're both yours because I bought you the AirPods
- 28:56Speaker 3: that you gave me back because you don't lose them.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Found your air pod, found your earring. Karma for you.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I appreciate that you found everything, and I appreciate that
- 29:04Speaker 1: you got back on the horse or got back on
- 29:05Speaker 1: the scoot.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yes, scoot scooto, lisaid her driving here.
- 29:16Speaker 1: So we have a mini We have a minivan, and
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm actually so the day has come where I have
- 29:23Speaker 1: to give up the rain drover and I have to
- 29:26Speaker 1: give up the rain drover because it is a nightmare
- 29:28Speaker 1: with two children.
- 29:30Speaker 3: You don't even have a third row, and then the middle.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Seat is absolutely teeny tiny, and I just felt like
- 29:36Speaker 1: it was time to get a mom car.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Well, we were sick of taking two cars to dinner
- 29:41Speaker 3: as a family.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Well we would take too, and then if we had
- 29:43Speaker 1: guests come into town, we were taking three.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Right, we were mobbing.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Deep all right, such a waste of gas and energy.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And so I've been looking at mom cars and I
- 29:57Speaker 1: purchased one.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I got what did I get?
- 30:01Speaker 4: A terrifying Denali for me. I can't even know the
- 30:06Speaker 4: thing is.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Breaking massive, they don't. So the only person that drives
- 30:11Speaker 3: in this family is the one speaking right me, okay,
- 30:14Speaker 3: here and there.
- 30:15Speaker 4: That's the no shows.
- 30:17Speaker 3: You're a very good but I am not excited to
- 30:22Speaker 3: whip this tank.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna wait until all of Los Angeles is quiet,
- 30:26Speaker 1: and then I'm gonna go.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I'm running from six a m. To eight am and
- 30:31Speaker 3: then from eight pm to ten pm.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Yes, so I'm very excited for the Denali.
- 30:36Speaker 1: It's got like the Captain's chairs, It's got the TVs
- 30:39Speaker 1: in the headress, it's got Wi Fi in it.
- 30:41Speaker 2: It's gonna be great third row, which is game changer.
- 30:44Speaker 1: But we get to Hawaii and I decide that we're
- 30:47Speaker 1: going to get a minivan because it's just that seems easy,
- 30:51Speaker 1: and I am obsessed with this freaking mini van.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Shout out, Chrysler, what.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Kind of pacifica?
- 30:59Speaker 3: PACIFICA. I'm not kidding you. Once you're in the van,
- 31:02Speaker 3: you forget you're in it. No, And it is spacious.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Well, and we can park wherever because I don't have
- 31:07Speaker 1: to worry about door doors.
- 31:09Speaker 3: And the other great thing is, oh, this is such
- 31:12Speaker 3: a dad thing. I can shut the doors by two
- 31:14Speaker 3: buttons Easton, Can you shut the door? Better? Believe it?
- 31:18Speaker 2: By the way, though, You're gonna be a phenomenal dad.
- 31:21Speaker 1: But all right, So I'm living for the Chrysler PACIFICA
- 31:27Speaker 1: and I tell mom, I'm like rent the minivan in
- 31:30Speaker 1: Hawaii because last year she booked too small of a
- 31:33Speaker 1: car and we all packed like we were going to
- 31:36Speaker 1: Paris Fashion Week.
- 31:37Speaker 3: He got us a Malibu the first that was the
- 31:39Speaker 3: first car upgrade from that the first time, right, gotta
- 31:43Speaker 3: yeah sedan.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know what she was thinking.
- 31:46Speaker 1: But this year we've got the two kids and we
- 31:48Speaker 1: also like, I packed in a backpack and I'm so
- 31:51Speaker 1: proud of myself. I brought the least amount of luggage
- 31:54Speaker 1: out of everybody.
- 31:55Speaker 3: No, you really did, Yeah you did. I think I'm
- 31:59Speaker 3: on your train. The only reason why I had an
- 32:01Speaker 3: extra bag was because of all the material I had to.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Oh, the podcast equipment.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Will you next year only need to packing because you've
- 32:08Speaker 1: literally been wearing it every Well same with me.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm bringing this and then I'll buy another one
- 32:12Speaker 3: when I get here, and then I'm three swimsuits. That's it.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 1: So Lisa calls to get I think it was insurance
- 32:18Speaker 1: or something on the mini van and the woman's like, well,
- 32:23Speaker 1: we don't cover vans, and my mom's like, what do
- 32:26Speaker 1: you mean you don't cover vans, and they're like, you know,
- 32:29Speaker 1: we don't cover things that have what was it like.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Three duel wheels?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Anything for moving?
- 32:37Speaker 3: Mom goes, can we get a van? And that's when
- 32:38Speaker 3: she goes, we don't cover anything, and she goes, well,
- 32:40Speaker 3: like a move a mini van? Said, The girl goes, well,
- 32:44Speaker 3: we don't really ensure moving vans. She thought we were
- 32:49Speaker 3: just flying a Hawaii to just rent a moving van.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Could you imagine.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Lisa driving a moving van?
- 32:57Speaker 3: No, I backed into her own car.
- 33:00Speaker 2: She should have seen her. You guys, driving the minivan.
- 33:04Speaker 2: It jars, Okay, it jars.
- 33:06Speaker 1: You to a stop the one time, the one time
- 33:09Speaker 1: that our tiny little street that we stay.
- 33:11Speaker 2: On as anything.
- 33:13Speaker 3: FYI, I'm not driving and I'm not in the car.
- 33:16Speaker 3: This is why it's happening.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And I'm hungry as fuck.
- 33:19Speaker 1: So I'm like thrilled that she's driving, because this would
- 33:22Speaker 1: have pissed me off rather than made me laugh hysterically.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Tons of people are today surfboards, people pushing their children,
- 33:30Speaker 1: and she they're waiting for her to back up, and
- 33:33Speaker 1: there's not a lot of room between the driveway and
- 33:36Speaker 1: like the end of the street, right, and then it's
- 33:38Speaker 1: just like trees and plants. She backs up, jars, pulls
- 33:44Speaker 1: back in, does it again, Jars does forward. Every single
- 33:48Speaker 1: person is laughing hysterically. Okay, And it didn't end there
- 33:53Speaker 1: because she did it.
- 33:54Speaker 2: She did it three more.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Times, a total of five pull ins, pull outs, and jars.
- 34:00Speaker 3: She knows there's a steering wheel. You can turn right, Lisa,
- 34:04Speaker 3: we're missing you out here, Damn.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I always try to plan the pot around Sosa's nap time,
- 34:11Speaker 1: but she's still a little off schedule with the time change. Yeah,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and like, I just think the podcast does better when
- 34:18Speaker 1: I'm on it. Otherwise I would have left the two
- 34:20Speaker 1: of you to do it. Who knows, maybe people will
- 34:22Speaker 1: disagree for you, people would say we want Lisa instead.
- 34:26Speaker 3: If they.
- 34:29Speaker 2: No, this has been the funnest.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Let me tell you something about our trips to Hawaii.
- 34:34Speaker 1: The thing that's great about it is we wake up
- 34:36Speaker 1: and there is arrow pressure.
- 34:38Speaker 2: And we've talked about this as a family before. We
- 34:41Speaker 2: are chillers.
- 34:43Speaker 1: We are not the type of people to sit there
- 34:45Speaker 1: and be like, Sunday, we're going out on a boat Sunday.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Do I say Sunday? Ready?
- 34:51Speaker 3: You said Sunday.
- 34:52Speaker 1: But we can say you're going out on Sunday. We're
- 34:56Speaker 1: gonna go uh start at Saturday.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Monday, we're gonna do Sharks Cup. Like, we're just not planners.
- 35:04Speaker 2: We wake up and we see how we feel.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I may plan that on Monday. If it's Friday, I
- 35:09Speaker 3: may plan something on Monday that sounds so great that
- 35:12Speaker 3: I would do on Friday. But when Monday rolls around,
- 35:14Speaker 3: I don't want to do that anymore. So I don't
- 35:17Speaker 3: make plans.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we're just not planners.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And I think that's what I love about this trip,
- 35:22Speaker 1: and this instead of ten days, we extended to two
- 35:25Speaker 1: full weeks. Next year, I'm going to I think I
- 35:30Speaker 1: could try to do a month. I want to do
- 35:32Speaker 1: at least three weeks next year. And the reason for
- 35:35Speaker 1: that is it flies by, and there's so many days
- 35:38Speaker 1: that there are times where we just wake up, we
- 35:41Speaker 1: chill around this house, and then we go out and
- 35:43Speaker 1: just lay on the beach. And there's so many little
- 35:45Speaker 1: funny moments that happen, like Ocean finding a gecko for
- 35:49Speaker 1: the first time, or Lisa's sitting on this couch and
- 35:54Speaker 1: Ocean puts her hand on her leg and.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Says, your your leg feels like cac so shop. So
- 36:03Speaker 2: Nick and Joe are here again.
- 36:05Speaker 1: We were hanging out with them last year and Nick
- 36:08Speaker 1: bought Ocean and So said, these pink sweat outfits that
- 36:12Speaker 1: say Spice Girls on it.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So Ocean didn't know who.
- 36:15Speaker 1: The Spice Girls were. I show her Spice Girls. She's
- 36:18Speaker 1: now obsessed. I'm going to post a video of her
- 36:20Speaker 1: doing the stop right now. Yeah, it is absolutely adorable.
- 36:26Speaker 1: The fact that my child now knows who the Spice
- 36:29Speaker 1: Girls are. She knows about TLC. She will watch No
- 36:33Speaker 1: Scrubs on YouTube and say to Easton, that's left eye
- 36:38Speaker 1: and she died.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Left eye died.
- 36:40Speaker 2: And it's so sad.
- 36:43Speaker 3: She was so cool and point and she not her
- 36:46Speaker 3: nor her.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Left eye I know.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And the other day she was sitting here and we
- 36:51Speaker 1: were watching because that's her favorite song right now is
- 36:53Speaker 1: No Scrubs. She goes, Chili pops on the screen and
- 36:55Speaker 1: she goes, mom, I don't look like her, and I
- 37:00Speaker 1: I was like, my child's getting I didn't think that
- 37:03Speaker 1: it would be so young that my child would know
- 37:05Speaker 1: that Gigi's not supposed to have prickly legs, that Ocean
- 37:10Speaker 1: is looking at girls and wanting to like look like them.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Yep.
- 37:14Speaker 1: She watches the Spice Girls, and she knows exactly which
- 37:17Speaker 1: one she wants to be. She does the whole dance.
- 37:20Speaker 1: It's crazy how fast time goes. And I think that's
- 37:24Speaker 1: another reason why I'm like two weeks is not long enough,
- 37:27Speaker 1: Like we need to extend to create more memories. You
- 37:30Speaker 1: want to know what else this trip has brought, which
- 37:32Speaker 1: I've never done before, is so Ocean is a nightmare
- 37:36Speaker 1: when she doesn't have a nap, which I think a
- 37:38Speaker 1: lot of parents can relate to.
- 37:39Speaker 2: It's like, you know the days where your child got
- 37:41Speaker 2: enough sleep.
- 37:42Speaker 1: And Ocean naps at school, and she's like a different
- 37:46Speaker 1: child on those days. She it's really hard for me
- 37:49Speaker 1: to get her down for naps. So on this day,
- 37:52Speaker 1: she was not kind and we were going into town
- 37:59Speaker 1: and she had been screaming, I hate you, and she
- 38:03Speaker 1: had been screaming to go away, and I just like
- 38:05Speaker 1: I had to put my foot down at some point.
- 38:07Speaker 1: It's the first time that I've really actually stuck to
- 38:11Speaker 1: my guns. And she wanted an ice cream with the
- 38:15Speaker 1: rest of it.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Well, like we talked about you, there has to be
- 38:19Speaker 3: the visual as well. Well.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I gave her the visual.
- 38:23Speaker 1: We all got icys, and of course we shared with her,
- 38:27Speaker 1: but she was like sitting at the menu and she
- 38:29Speaker 1: was so excited. But I had told her, Oh my god,
- 38:32Speaker 1: don't do that.
- 38:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna cry. No, I felt so.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I felt so because you're a great mom. And guess what,
- 38:39Speaker 3: being a great mom comes with discipline. And it sucks
- 38:41Speaker 3: that you had to do that, but you either create
- 38:44Speaker 3: this monster that you give everything to. You have to
- 38:47Speaker 3: be a mother and tell your child. Now, that's the
- 38:49Speaker 3: hardest thing about being a mother is saying no to
- 38:51Speaker 3: your child. It really is. So what you had to do.
- 38:54Speaker 3: A lot of moms have to do a lot of
- 38:56Speaker 3: There are so many moms that I now know that
- 39:00Speaker 3: that will discipline their child, go into their room and
- 39:03Speaker 3: ball because they did not want to. Yeah, so that
- 39:06Speaker 3: was God every mom, And that's the thing. You have
- 39:09Speaker 3: to do it with your child. If you don't, we're
- 39:11Speaker 3: gonna have just a whole bunch of undisciplined children and
- 39:15Speaker 3: it's going to be a nightmare. So you have to discipline.
- 39:18Speaker 3: And as bad as it is, you did very well.
- 39:20Speaker 3: You disciplined her. You let her know why she wasn't
- 39:23Speaker 3: getting ice cream while we were eating. You let her
- 39:26Speaker 3: know why, and then she was acting well and then
- 39:29Speaker 3: she deserves some bites, so then she got some. But
- 39:32Speaker 3: that was a visual.
- 39:33Speaker 1: She's been very good and I told her, I said,
- 39:36Speaker 1: you have to take a nap today, and she's had
- 39:38Speaker 1: one in the past two days. And she says, I
- 39:40Speaker 1: don't want to, and I say, Ocean, when you don't
- 39:43Speaker 1: get a nap, you're not very kind. So I want
- 39:46Speaker 1: you to go lay in our bed and just like
- 39:48Speaker 1: just have quiet time at least, and then she knocks out.
- 39:51Speaker 1: She wakes up and tells me, Mom, I had a
- 39:55Speaker 1: nap today. That's why I'm going to be so kind.
- 39:58Speaker 2: So she does know.
- 40:00Speaker 1: But I think it's that piled on with the post
- 40:03Speaker 1: about the teeth and people like like people wrote about
- 40:06Speaker 1: me as like a parent, and like the message that
- 40:09Speaker 1: I send in here's the thing, you guys, can people
- 40:11Speaker 1: can say or write about whatever they want when it
- 40:13Speaker 1: comes to like me as a person. But I think
- 40:15Speaker 1: anyone with kids, when you start commenting or putting judgment
- 40:21Speaker 1: on mine someone else's, it's it's like very disorienting. And
- 40:29Speaker 1: then people talking about because I refer to so says
- 40:33Speaker 1: my dream baby, and people even taking that as far
- 40:37Speaker 1: as to say in the comments section that like how
- 40:40Speaker 1: would how would you feel being ocean and saying things
- 40:45Speaker 1: like that, and I'm like, yeah, why is everyone making
- 40:48Speaker 1: a thing out of nothing? Like ocean is is such
- 40:51Speaker 1: my golden.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Child kids, I was gonna say, you can't just call
- 40:54Speaker 3: them both your golden children. And one is the golden child,
- 40:57Speaker 3: one is your dream baby, they're both. You want both.
- 41:01Speaker 3: You want a great dream and we all want some goal.
- 41:04Speaker 1: And she's my golden child because of number one what
- 41:07Speaker 1: we experience. But she's like the kid who made me
- 41:10Speaker 1: a mom. She's so freaking spicy and so freaking sweet
- 41:14Speaker 1: all at the same time.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Like I'm gonna interrupt you because I feel like a
- 41:17Speaker 3: lot of people don't see it because it's not on film,
- 41:20Speaker 3: but I see it, and I know Gigi does. When
- 41:22Speaker 3: you see ocean, Yes, when you see Sosa, you have
- 41:25Speaker 3: a light in your eye. Yeah, but there is times
- 41:28Speaker 3: where I see you look at ocean and there's no
- 41:30Speaker 3: other light that I've seen you like that bright and
- 41:35Speaker 3: you can tell but ocean is very special to you.
- 41:40Speaker 3: And I don't know what people see or think, but
- 41:42Speaker 3: I witness waking up in the morning with everyone and
- 41:46Speaker 3: I see her walking out, and I see you and
- 41:49Speaker 3: the way you look, and you never look like that
- 41:51Speaker 3: in any other situation. And I know that that is
- 41:55Speaker 3: because of your golden child.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and I feel like Sosa is the dream baby
- 42:00Speaker 1: because she didn't. She wasn't the product of just like
- 42:04Speaker 1: two people falling in love and pro creating or a
- 42:08Speaker 1: one night stand. It was like she was the dream
- 42:10Speaker 1: baby because I thought so hard on her and thought,
- 42:13Speaker 1: how am I going to make this happen? I really
- 42:15Speaker 1: want a baby on my own, but how do I like,
- 42:18Speaker 1: how do I do it?
- 42:19Speaker 3: And then without a man's right?
- 42:21Speaker 1: So when she arrived and she's healthy and happy and
- 42:26Speaker 1: this structure that I've created, it's like wow, Like I
- 42:29Speaker 1: I had dreams about this moment of expanding my family
- 42:32Speaker 1: by myself, and we did it.
- 42:35Speaker 2: So I don't know how we got taken. Oh, we
- 42:37Speaker 2: got taken on that term because I had a discipline ocean.
- 42:40Speaker 2: And then like all the comments I'm like, feel like
- 42:43Speaker 2: not a good parent.
- 42:44Speaker 3: No, you're an amazing parent. And to every other mom
- 42:47Speaker 3: out there that feels the same, You're all doing well.
- 42:49Speaker 3: There's no manual. Every kid comes different. You just swing
- 42:52Speaker 3: the bat and no, hopefully ye make some contact and
- 42:56Speaker 3: you're doing well in this little game called life.
- 43:00Speaker 1: No, I know, And it's like important because it's like
- 43:03Speaker 1: the other day or yesterday we went to Shark's Cove,
- 43:06Speaker 1: and there's so many things that I want Ocean to
- 43:08Speaker 1: experience because I'm like, I want her to have the
- 43:10Speaker 1: best time. I want her to talk about this forever.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And honestly, it's the tiniest of things, her going into
- 43:17Speaker 1: the water and like looking at the fish. The biggest
- 43:21Speaker 1: thing she remembered was getting out of the water and
- 43:23Speaker 1: a crab, a tiny little black.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Crab like ran across the rock.
- 43:27Speaker 1: It's the tiniest things that they remember. And I feel
- 43:30Speaker 1: like so much pressure on ourselves as parents in general,
- 43:36Speaker 1: and like, I hope she's gonna remember coming to Hawaii
- 43:40Speaker 1: when she gets older.
- 43:41Speaker 2: She is starting to have memories.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I think back on a lot of things that
- 43:46Speaker 3: mom and Dad used to talk to us about, like
- 43:48Speaker 3: trips when we were young. I don't remember any of
- 43:50Speaker 3: those extravagant trips. I remember like bits and pieces of
- 43:54Speaker 3: like being nowhere yes with family, and I'm like, I
- 43:57Speaker 3: remember that that was great. It's like put pressure, like
- 44:00Speaker 3: you said to do these extravagant things for hope and
- 44:03Speaker 3: hope that your kid remembers it. And it's like just
- 44:06Speaker 3: you being a family. There's going to be moments that
- 44:09Speaker 3: your kid is going to remember. And that's all you
- 44:11Speaker 3: gotta do is just be a family and do the
- 44:13Speaker 3: things around. Your kids are gonna get amazing experiences being
- 44:17Speaker 3: with family. Yeah, you don't have to do jet skiing,
- 44:20Speaker 3: you don't have to go crazy, go lay on a
- 44:22Speaker 3: beach with some pineapple and hang because that's the other
- 44:27Speaker 3: thing I remember more of, like the beach with dad
- 44:30Speaker 3: just sipping his vodka lemonades when cheese dog. But like
- 44:34Speaker 3: we would go to Disneyland, think of that.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I don't remember ever.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Going to Disneyland exactly. Do you want to know? The
- 44:40Speaker 3: one thing the rust in that car ride. That is
- 44:42Speaker 3: the only thing I don't remember Disneyland. I remember almost
- 44:45Speaker 3: getting there. That's it. But that's the experience. Don't put
- 44:48Speaker 3: your just live life. Your kids are going to get
- 44:52Speaker 3: experiences just through family.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:57Speaker 2: That was so beautifully set Easton.
- 44:59Speaker 3: So I just don't put pressure. I hate when families
- 45:02Speaker 3: put pressure. You're doing it for the wrong reasons.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Well that's I think.
- 45:05Speaker 1: What's so annoying is I feel like in my life
- 45:08Speaker 1: there are so many things that I look at and
- 45:10Speaker 1: I go, damn it, I wish I would have done
- 45:12Speaker 1: that differently, I wish I were better at this. And
- 45:15Speaker 1: then when I think about myself as a mom, of
- 45:17Speaker 1: course there are moments where I'm like, ugh, I was
- 45:20Speaker 1: too hard on Ocean today, or I could have held
- 45:22Speaker 1: so some more, I feel like I didn't hold her
- 45:24Speaker 1: enough to day, Like, there are moments, but I feel
- 45:26Speaker 1: like when I look at the overall picture of like
- 45:28Speaker 1: being a parent, I'm like, it's the one place that
- 45:31Speaker 1: I can confidently say, like, I'm doing pretty much now.
- 45:34Speaker 3: You do your kids go to sleep and with teeth
- 45:37Speaker 3: brushed and love? Yes, do they wake up and have breakfast?
- 45:41Speaker 3: You're doing fucking great.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Ocean's big thing right now, you guys, is to tell
- 45:44Speaker 1: everyone that her mom doesn't feed her. Who does Ocean,
- 45:48Speaker 1: Cause you get an f because you did not feed
- 45:51Speaker 1: me today?
- 45:51Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, Ocean, just didn't you just chose
- 45:55Speaker 2: to you? I did feed you.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Your only thinking about when you came out of your
- 46:02Speaker 1: room for the seventeenth time at eleven o'clock and wanted
- 46:04Speaker 1: a marshmallow, And I told you, no, you're not remembering
- 46:08Speaker 1: the full dinner that I gave you at a decent hour.
- 46:10Speaker 1: And I've now been trying to put you to bed
- 46:12Speaker 1: for the past four hours, and all she can remember there, Oh,
- 46:16Speaker 1: here she comes.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Oh, here comes brickflet boom, Ocean.
- 46:21Speaker 2: I was just talking about you and the Spice girls.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Who's your favorite? What Carr?
- 46:26Speaker 2: I don't think she knows the name yet, she can
- 46:28Speaker 2: only point them out that later. Who's your favorite of TLC?
- 46:33Speaker 2: Do you have a favorite of TLC? So there?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Wow.
- 46:39Speaker 1: We had a lot of areas, but this, this trip
- 46:42Speaker 1: to Hawaii again is one of the most amazing.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Again.
- 46:45Speaker 1: We're going to extend our trip next year. And it
- 46:49Speaker 1: took as much as I love doing the pot, it
- 46:51Speaker 1: did take a lot for me to get on this
- 46:52Speaker 1: mic right now because all I want to do is
- 46:54Speaker 1: go jump in the same But I.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Do love doing it here because I feel like everybody
- 46:58Speaker 3: gets to come on vacation with us.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I know, I'm so happy to have you and I'm
- 47:02Speaker 1: gonna take you guys with me throughout the day.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Ocean.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Do you want to tell them and who you're gonna
- 47:07Speaker 3: go and see? Today.
- 47:09Speaker 2: What did you see yesterday? My love? Come tell everybody.
- 47:12Speaker 4: At first three sea turnels.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Three sea turtles, Oh my gosh, and what are and
- 47:20Speaker 1: what are you gonna do today? See Summer That's exactly right,
- 47:25Speaker 1: We're gonna go see Summer Moon today.
- 47:30Speaker 2: You guys, I wanna You're welcome. I love you so much.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I want to thank you guys for tuning in to
- 47:36Speaker 1: another episode of the Give Them La La podcast from Hawaii.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I'm taking you all with me today and I'm gonna
- 47:42Speaker 1: catch you guys on Monday for the bonus, and then again.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Next week on Wednesday. You can see this video.
- 47:48Speaker 1: It drops Friday on nine am Pacific time. I love
- 47:53Speaker 1: you guys, have a the great rest of the week.
- 47:55Speaker 1: BA
