- 0:05Speaker 1: And do not forget a bonus name for the Big
- 0:07Speaker 1: Money Board coming up at eight eleven.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, keep your radio on, Gabe.
- 0:12Speaker 3: We got an email from a listener and I need
- 0:16Speaker 3: your take on this. I mean, she needs help figuring
- 0:19Speaker 3: out if she's the problem.
- 0:21Speaker 2: That's right, Hi, Angie and Gabe.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember me because it was busy,
- 0:25Speaker 3: but I stopped by your table at the picnic. Oh,
- 0:29Speaker 3: the Fargo Police picnic. Okay, I'm Ellie and I took
- 0:33Speaker 3: a lot of tutsie.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Rules we go rules descriptive, but there was a lot
- 0:39Speaker 1: of people who told, well, nice to meet you.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Nice to meet you, Ellie.
- 0:44Speaker 3: And I want to know if you think I'm the problem.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I got into it with a girlfriend because I snapped
- 0:50Speaker 3: at her for taking food off my plate. We got
- 0:53Speaker 3: panda and she got fried rice. I got chow maine.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Halfway through eating, she reaches over with her fork and
- 1:00Speaker 3: scoop some chow mane and eats it. I lost my
- 1:03Speaker 3: mind over it, even when she said I was welcome
- 1:06Speaker 3: to have some of her fried rice because I don't
- 1:09Speaker 3: even like fried rice. She thinks I'm overreacting, but I
- 1:14Speaker 3: hate sharing my food. Am I being ridiculous? Am I
- 1:17Speaker 3: the problem?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Gabe? You're giggling? I want your take on this.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Uh So, do I want my friend to take their
- 1:26Speaker 1: fork and like dig into my food and snatch it
- 1:29Speaker 1: off the plate and eat it?
- 1:30Speaker 4: M hmmm.
- 1:31Speaker 1: No, I'd prefer they didn't, or at least they asked first.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna snap at them if they do.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I mean, that's that is a little much for me.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I do hate when my wife doesn't order fries and
- 1:42Speaker 1: gets potato chips and I get fries, and now all
- 1:45Speaker 1: of a sudden, I have potato chips and she has fries. Right,
- 1:49Speaker 1: But no, I'm never ever gonna snap it a buddy
- 1:52Speaker 1: who just wants like a bite of whatever. I mean,
- 1:54Speaker 1: if they're going in for multiples, we start stabbing hands
- 1:57Speaker 1: with forks.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Okay, but a bite there. Sharing's caring.
- 2:01Speaker 3: You are granting too much grace. I think that no, Ellie,
- 2:06Speaker 3: you're not the problem. Your friend is the problem and
- 2:08Speaker 3: the friendship actually, because why why she doesn't? She even
- 2:14Speaker 3: said she goes I don't even like fried rice. And
- 2:17Speaker 3: I bet if that's your friend, your friend knows that
- 2:19Speaker 3: your friend knows that you don't like fried rice, and
- 2:21Speaker 3: so they get the fried rice so that they can
- 2:23Speaker 3: eat all of the rice themselves, and then they.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Take your chow mane and then you can help slimu
- 2:29Speaker 2: my fried rice. Girl, you know, I don't like fried rice.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I'm taking this maybe more personally than Ellie does, but
- 2:36Speaker 3: I am so I don't share food. I don't like
- 2:38Speaker 3: I'm like Joey from Friends. I don't share food because
- 2:42Speaker 3: if I got the food that I wanted, it's because
- 2:44Speaker 3: I want to eat it, right, And if you got
- 2:47Speaker 3: the food that you want, because you want to eat
- 2:49Speaker 3: it unless we're going out to like a tapas place,
- 2:51Speaker 3: and the plan from jump is that we're sharing. In
- 2:54Speaker 3: my head, my food is my food. Your food is
- 2:57Speaker 3: your food, right? And how dare you so? You know what, Ellie,
- 3:01Speaker 3: I don't think you're the problem. I think your friend
- 3:03Speaker 3: is the problem. I think that it should be over.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Are you snapping at friends when they try to dive
- 3:16Speaker 1: on into your food, your plate or whatever, or is
- 3:19Speaker 1: it just not that big a deal?
- 3:21Speaker 4: Let us know what you think?
- 3:25Speaker 5: Was my mouth said story your food, It was like,
- 3:30Speaker 5: oh my god, no.
- 3:31Speaker 2: The only time you.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Get to do that is when somebody offers here you
- 3:35Speaker 5: want to try this, or here you want to try this.
- 3:37Speaker 5: That's the only time you don't get to go across
- 3:39Speaker 5: with your fork and take my food or I'm going
- 3:41Speaker 5: to spect your hands.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed with you. I love you.
- 3:44Speaker 2: What's your name?
- 3:46Speaker 5: Diana?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Diana, Yes, you get it, A woman after my own heart.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, don't be No, don't be messing with my food.
- 3:53Speaker 5: If I got my food, you don't be touching my food.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's the so cost well, Diana, thank you so much
- 3:58Speaker 1: for chrying in here this morning. If you are just
- 4:00Speaker 1: tout and have no idea what we're talking about, we
- 4:02Speaker 1: had a funny. Am I the problem this morning?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:05Speaker 3: Ellie wanted to know she was the problem for all,
- 4:08Speaker 3: for like losing her mind when her friend reached over
- 4:12Speaker 3: and scooped food off of her plate because she doesn't
- 4:14Speaker 3: like to share her food.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 1: To me, it all depends on who it is and
- 4:18Speaker 1: how good our friendship relationship whatever is. If it's my
- 4:22Speaker 1: older brother or younger sister, not only a are we stab
- 4:27Speaker 1: in hands with forks? Neither of us are gonna eat
- 4:30Speaker 1: cause I'm gonna take both plates up off the table,
- 4:32Speaker 1: pour them on the ground, predo this whole process.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I like, how extreme you go, Gabe.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I respect it now.
- 4:39Speaker 1: If it's a good buddy or my wife or my
- 4:41Speaker 1: mom or whatever, I probably won't even I might like
- 4:44Speaker 1: roll my eyes, but I won't say anything about it.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I don't think I ever want to eat with you
- 4:48Speaker 2: ever again.
- 4:54Speaker 3: On today's am I the Problem, Ellie wrote us, asking
- 4:59Speaker 3: if she's the problem for losing her mind when her
- 5:03Speaker 3: friend reached over and took food off her plate because
- 5:06Speaker 3: she doesn't like to share.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Food, which is fair to an extent.
- 5:11Speaker 3: To an extent seven oh one two eight one nine
- 5:14Speaker 3: eight seven, what do you think? Do you think Ellie
- 5:17Speaker 3: is the problem for not wanting to share her food?
- 5:21Speaker 4: And we do have Jody on the phone.
- 5:24Speaker 5: I've got some feedback for the food thing. If you
- 5:26Speaker 5: guys are still taking oh yes, well yeah, okay. So
- 5:30Speaker 5: in my opinion, this is a lesson and consent because
- 5:33Speaker 5: I taught my kids when they were little that they
- 5:36Speaker 5: get to decide if somebody gets to take their stuff
- 5:39Speaker 5: or their food, or if they get to share, and
- 5:41Speaker 5: that at least gives them an opportunity to say no.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Most of the time they're gonna say yes to somebody asked.
- 5:47Speaker 5: But in this case, I mean, all the friend had
- 5:49Speaker 5: to do is be like, hey, that looks really good,
- 5:51Speaker 5: Like maybe I want to bite next time, or maybe
- 5:53Speaker 5: I want to order that next time. You might if
- 5:55Speaker 5: I try a bite. Most likely her friend would have
- 5:57Speaker 5: said yes, get a clean for and dig in or
- 6:02Speaker 5: have a bite. But in this case, she wasn't even
- 6:05Speaker 5: given the opportunity to say no, So I probably would
- 6:07Speaker 5: have been pretty upset too.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like that's Gabe, where your head was
- 6:13Speaker 3: at was like just say, if you want some, just
- 6:16Speaker 3: ask me and I'll give it to you.
- 6:17Speaker 2: But just reaching over, excuse me.
- 6:19Speaker 5: I also get the impression that, you know, the entitled
- 6:22Speaker 5: behavior of this friend, thinking that her other friend is
- 6:26Speaker 5: overreacting and that it's not a big deal, like this
- 6:28Speaker 5: is probably not the first time she's done this kind
- 6:30Speaker 5: of thing in the friendship. She's probably a very entitled person,
- 6:34Speaker 5: so I mean, it probably goes a long way back.
- 6:36Speaker 5: It's probably not just food either.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Jody coming with the heat I likely, right, Yeah, I
- 6:41Speaker 3: like that analysis.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I do too, all right seven oh one two eight
- 6:45Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven. If you want to chime
- 6:48Speaker 1: in this morning, is Ellie the problem for being a
- 6:51Speaker 1: little upset. Her friend dove on into her plate of
- 6:55Speaker 1: food with Big ninety eight point seven, and we liked
- 7:02Speaker 1: starting the show off on a positive notes. Some little
- 7:05Speaker 1: victories just giving each other, giving you a reason to
- 7:08Speaker 1: smile and start your date today, Angie, what's your little
- 7:13Speaker 1: victory for us today?
- 7:14Speaker 3: I showed my boyfriend Mikey the movie Mean Girls yesterday.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I feel like I quote that movie a lot.
- 7:24Speaker 3: It was very like anytime. I'm like, I'm not a
- 7:26Speaker 3: regular mom, I'm a cool mom.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Like I think he just thought that. I just say
- 7:29Speaker 2: that because I feel that way.
- 7:31Speaker 4: You've never seen me.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You had never seen me.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Wow.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So we watched it yesterday. We ate some Blaze pizza
- 7:38Speaker 3: and watched Mean Girls. And he was like, oh, this
- 7:41Speaker 3: is very much your humor. And I'm like, yes, mean
- 7:44Speaker 3: Girls is my personality. But it was really nice and
- 7:48Speaker 3: he enjoyed the movie. So because that could have been
- 7:51Speaker 3: grounds for a breakup if he didn't like Mean Girls.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sure he real threatened that.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was why It's silly.
- 7:59Speaker 3: But that my little victory.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I think it is cool. I don't want to blow paths.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I think that is cool and there's something you enjoy
- 8:05Speaker 1: and it's kind of, you know, not a part of
- 8:07Speaker 1: who you are by any means.
- 8:08Speaker 3: No, it definitely is. I've been trying to make fetch
- 8:11Speaker 3: happen ever since.
- 8:13Speaker 1: That's really cool. That's that's a fun little victory for sure.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Thank you, GiB my little victory. Despite this being my
- 8:22Speaker 1: least least favorite chore in the history of life. I
- 8:27Speaker 1: knew my wife had one of her long days at
- 8:29Speaker 1: work yesterday and I was trying to be hubby of
- 8:32Speaker 1: the year. I emptied the cat litter boxes.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And you have like four cats or something, right.
- 8:39Speaker 1: There's a few, but we uh, I emptied the litter boxes.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And I hate doing the scooping. I don't mind if
- 8:48Speaker 1: when it's we change the litter completely, you just empty
- 8:50Speaker 1: it and then throw it away and refill it. But
- 8:53Speaker 1: when you're just like kind of scooping out to get
- 8:56Speaker 1: rid of the stuff that's in there, I hate it.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I have like kind of a weak stomach. That's it
- 9:01Speaker 1: makes me want to vomit or whatever.
- 9:03Speaker 2: And you still did it and I.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Was able to get through it yesterday. Gabe, you are
- 9:09Speaker 4: hobby of the day.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Crushed it.
- 9:13Speaker 4: At least for an hour. Yeah, I want to know.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Have you ever had to look someone in the eye
- 9:22Speaker 1: and go, you know what? I was wrong? I'm sorry.
- 9:27Speaker 1: When's the last time you admitted that you were wrong?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero eight seven.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I admit when I'm wrong. I just don't give eye
- 9:38Speaker 3: contact when I do it because I feel ashamed. Okay,
- 9:44Speaker 3: what about you, Gabe? I feel like, why are you
- 9:46Speaker 3: asking me what happened? Gabe?
- 9:48Speaker 1: Well, so what I will say is I am I
- 9:50Speaker 1: am not one of those people. I'm not worried to
- 9:52Speaker 1: be like wrong. Okay, I'm wrong all the time. Oh,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I like time.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I love a self aware man.
- 9:59Speaker 1: But there was one time, very recently, my wife Corey
- 10:04Speaker 1: and I we were putting together this tent in the backyard,
- 10:07Speaker 1: not for any reason, but we're gonna do some.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Camping this summer.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And it was just one of those let's put it together,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you know, kind of get it broken in, stretched out
- 10:13Speaker 1: a little bit, and just let it sit in the
- 10:15Speaker 1: backyard and then we'll take it down, and you know,
- 10:18Speaker 1: we know what to do. And we are out in
- 10:20Speaker 1: the wilderness trying to survive. Yes, put it together. We
- 10:26Speaker 1: were putting this thing together, and I did do kind
- 10:28Speaker 1: of the typical, the stereotypical dude thing of like, I
- 10:32Speaker 1: don't need directions.
- 10:33Speaker 4: How hard is it to put a tent together?
- 10:35Speaker 2: My god? Why why do you guys be that way?
- 10:39Speaker 4: I am not, you know, I don't know.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I just assumed I could figure it out, and everything
- 10:44Speaker 1: was fine until it came time to putting. I don't
- 10:48Speaker 1: know what you want to call it, but like the
- 10:50Speaker 1: roof or the rain catch or whatever. Okay, the thing
- 10:53Speaker 1: that goes over it to stop the rain from getting in, right, yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't I'm fine, We're putting
- 10:58Speaker 1: it together, YadA YadA, YadA lo. And I had no
- 11:01Speaker 1: clue what I was doing. We had to basically restart
- 11:04Speaker 1: from the beginning.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yab, I would be so mad at you. What did
- 11:07Speaker 3: your wife react like?
- 11:08Speaker 1: And she was like, well, no, we need to do this,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and I was like, there's no way, that's what we
- 11:12Speaker 1: have to do. So of course I keep ho humming
- 11:14Speaker 1: along doing it my way, and it turned out my
- 11:16Speaker 1: way was very wrong, so I had to do the
- 11:20Speaker 1: old Sorry, honey, I was wrong.
- 11:23Speaker 4: You're right, You're smart, I'm yeah, you know. And I
- 11:28Speaker 4: wanted to know, is there anyone else.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Who if you're a lady and you've been trying to
- 11:31Speaker 1: put together a tent with your hubby and he.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Didn't need directions, that's so much need a direction.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Why don't you guys read directions? You know what I
- 11:39Speaker 3: saw you ask this on the big ninety points.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I'm on Facebook page.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I'm really I like all these answers are basically I'm married,
- 11:47Speaker 3: so I have to say every day that I'm.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Wrong, and it's from the fellas. It's the fellas at
- 11:52Speaker 2: least they know.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to know. Is there a lady who's
- 11:56Speaker 4: ever been wrong in her life?
- 11:58Speaker 1: No?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Okay, no, no.
- 12:01Speaker 4: All right, fair enough, all right.
- 12:10Speaker 1: In the world of comic book shops, there is something
- 12:14Speaker 1: called a store variant. That is when a comic book brand,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and we're talking you know, the big ones, d C
- 12:21Speaker 1: or Marvel or whoever you know, they offer a chance
- 12:25Speaker 1: to sell a limited run comic book with a cover
- 12:28Speaker 1: that is exclusive to that store.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Oh that's cool now.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I believe his name is either rich or Rick rich
- 12:36Speaker 1: or Rick Early, who is the owner of Fargo's Paradox
- 12:39Speaker 1: Comics and Cards. He's never had a store variant before,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and it wouldn't be Gabe's good News of the day
- 12:45Speaker 1: if he didn't get one until now, That is, until recently,
- 12:48Speaker 1: when he hired Fargo graphic artist and illustrator Troy Becker
- 12:52Speaker 1: to create a cover for Special Archie Comics, a comic
- 12:56Speaker 1: book written by Kevin Smith, who wrote and directed and
- 12:59Speaker 1: produced a movie you maybe heard of called Clerks.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yes Obsessed with Kevin Smith. He's also responsible for Degrassi.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yes, and the characters of Jay and Silent Body. If
- 13:11Speaker 1: you likely heard, they were really a big deal in
- 13:14Speaker 1: a recent if you have a boyfriend or maybe you
- 13:16Speaker 1: play you know, you're a lady and you play. But
- 13:18Speaker 1: they were recently featured in Call of Duty. Yeah, so
- 13:22Speaker 1: they really have made a big, I don't know, kind
- 13:26Speaker 1: of push on the mainstream as opposed to being this
- 13:29Speaker 1: kind of unique, quirky kind of thing.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Well.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Becker, who does the illustration for the Forum, has done
- 13:37Speaker 1: projects for Rick or Rich before in his comic book
- 13:41Speaker 1: store in the past. When when Rick asked Becker to
- 13:44Speaker 1: come up with a cover for the Smith Penn comic book,
- 13:48Speaker 1: he accepted the challenge. He said, I've always been a
- 13:51Speaker 1: fan of Kevin Smith, noting that he early offered several
- 13:54Speaker 1: possible covers to people at the Archie Comic Books before
- 13:58Speaker 1: getting the thumbs up.
- 13:59Speaker 4: The hover that was approved.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Features Jay and Silent Bob hanging out on a store
- 14:05Speaker 1: rooftop with three residents of the fictional town of Riverdale,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and what they're doing is holding hockey sticks. In the movie,
- 14:14Speaker 1: the clerks play hockey on top of this convenience store. Right.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I love this, And obviously the hockey is a big
- 14:21Speaker 1: tie to the fm area. I mean, we just had
- 14:23Speaker 1: the Morehead Spuds in the state championship winning the state championship.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Hockey's just so beloved here and it's just very very
- 14:30Speaker 1: cool now, a lot of that one percent ironerstand. It's
- 14:32Speaker 1: a little bit confusing, and if you're not into comics,
- 14:34Speaker 1: it might be hard to really grasp. But it's still
- 14:38Speaker 1: very cool for the area.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yes it is, and I want to go into the
- 14:41Speaker 2: comic book store now.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Maybe we'll have to go track it down. Yeah do
- 14:45Speaker 1: that'd be sweet, all right. The world is full of
- 14:47Speaker 1: nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
