Latest / Bourbon & Rum / Can We Quit Talking About Epstein?
Transcript
- 0:08Welcome to another episode of Bourbon and Rum.
- 0:11This is a podcast of two brothers from opposite ends of
- 0:15the spectrum. My name's Kent, I'm a rum
- 0:22drinker, and I'm from the left side of the aisle.
- 0:24And I'm Kyle. I, like bourbon, tend to be a
- 0:26little more conservative. Join us as we explore this
- 0:32experiment. Can two brothers from different
- 0:35sides of the political spectrum have a civil conversation and
- 0:39celebrate our differences? What are you drinking?
- 0:54I am drinking a old reliable old Forester single barrel barrel
- 0:59proof. It's 131 so you know.
- 1:03Gets a little toasty, but. 6-8 ounces of that and you're you're
- 1:07going to be fun to talk to. You know, I had a really
- 1:11delightful conversation about bourbon with Grok yesterday.
- 1:14No, not Grok with ChatGPT. I was talking to ChatGPT about
- 1:18bourbon and I was explaining there were a couple of bourbons,
- 1:23namely in the Beam family that are good and smooth, but I'm not
- 1:27that big a fan of. But I really like like Old
- 1:29Forester and I like the Wellers and the, and the, you know, I
- 1:33like the kind of a rich mouthfeel.
- 1:36And what I was saying is that it's because what I don't like
- 1:42apparently, and I, you know, I'm not like a super knowledgeable
- 1:46in the subject. I'm learning more as I drink
- 1:47more, but it's the rye content, like the higher the rye content
- 1:52is like a thinner mouthfeel versus if it's a lower rye, more
- 1:56wheat or other stuff, it's it's a, it's creamier, smoother, you
- 2:02know what I mean? And you like more rye or less
- 2:05rye? Less rye I don't like Oh.
- 2:07Wow, I actually really love rye whiskey too.
- 2:10And not like bourbon with a lot of rye.
- 2:12Maybe that's not that great, but, you know, straight up rye.
- 2:15Yeah, I, I think it's, it's great for mixing.
- 2:18You know you you make a great Manhattan with a a good dry rye
- 2:22whiskey. Yeah, yeah, I know that's true
- 2:25for sure. What are you drinking on?
- 2:27I'm off the beaten path and instead of rum, and this is the
- 2:31beauty of being a cheap rum drinker rather than an expensive
- 2:34bourbon drinker that I can shake things up from time to time.
- 2:37So I've just got a Gimlet with Sapphire with Bombay Gin and
- 2:43Rose's Lime. Perfect for a hot, humid summer
- 2:47day. That sounds great.
- 2:53Well, for our listeners, this is a special episode for us because
- 2:58this episode is being recorded in front of a live studio
- 3:02audience of three people, including our mother, who to our
- 3:08knowledge has not ever listened to one of our full episodes to
- 3:12date. Can't blame her.
- 3:16I mean, I will say, you know, one of the benefits of the
- 3:19podcast, one of the things that we often, we often promote is
- 3:24that so far we haven't used the F bomb in arguing.
- 3:28And I would think that having mom here in the audience might
- 3:31make sure that even today there's no F bomb.
- 3:34Now the problem is that the other individual or aunt that is
- 3:39there, she might actually appreciate the the random F box.
- 3:44It's like the it's like the Angel and the devil on the
- 3:46shoulder. What What's say and do it?
- 3:49And what's say and don't? That's right.
- 3:50That's right. Well, I thought we had.
- 3:55I thought we had a great discussion last week.
- 3:58We dug pretty deep into the most recent news on the the Epstein
- 4:05files and that whole conversation.
- 4:07I don't know, might continue some of that today.
- 4:10You said you had a an occasion earlier today.
- 4:14That kind of was a little bit of something to discuss with this.
- 4:18Well, yeah, I mean, we were downtown Dallas and saw the JFK
- 4:24memorial. And then of course, there's some
- 4:25guy Hawking a book down there and and he's, you know, another
- 4:31theory. And supposedly he's he's good
- 4:34friends with Marina Oswald, who lives in Rockwall, which just
- 4:37east of Dallas, according to his friendship with her.
- 4:42She said he's a horrible shot. So no way he could have shot
- 4:46Oswald. And his contention is Oswald was
- 4:49eating a sandwich up there in the Book Depository Building.
- 4:53So I don't know that that's any of the official.
- 4:55And you talk about the worst place to eat a sandwich.
- 4:59I mean, just it all just went downhill after that.
- 5:03Yeah, so any and honestly anybody that goes to that 6th
- 5:07floor museum, we were talking to some other people that we went
- 5:12to this Dallas Farmers Market, which is really cool and a
- 5:15little area and then restaurants stuff and we're down there and
- 5:19talking to somebody. And I was like and they were
- 5:20talking about going to the 6th floor and I said if you go to
- 5:22that museum and they lay it all, all the details out and it's
- 5:26skip official storyline they lay out.
- 5:28But you watch that and you're like, there's no way in hell it
- 5:32was just Oswald A sole shooter. I mean, and they, they try to
- 5:35tell you that that's the case, but there's so much stuff in
- 5:38there that you're just like, yeah, whatever, you know.
- 5:42And I kind of feel like that's what's going on here with this
- 5:45Epstein bit is that it's when you have these inconsistencies
- 5:53and you have the way people handle this.
- 5:56There's just there's 100,000 document and we learned this
- 5:59week there's 100,000 pages of stuff and then like, well,
- 6:02there's nothing that can be released.
- 6:03Like really, I mean, there's nothing.
- 6:06I mean, it just doesn't add up, you know, and it, and it's like,
- 6:12it might like the like the like JFK, like maybe he wasn't eating
- 6:17a sandwich, maybe he shot him. He's the lone gunman and all the
- 6:23hours and years of people's lives investigating conspiracies
- 6:27has all just been a bunch of nonsense.
- 6:30And maybe everything's hunky Dory with the Epstein thing too.
- 6:34Well, it's not hunky Dory, but maybe it's not, you know, The
- 6:36Client List and all this stuff. But whenever you, I feel like
- 6:42whenever you kind of fumble the message, it's just going to open
- 6:45the door to every possibility. Just opens up so many questions,
- 6:49right, I think. I don't think I'm
- 6:52mischaracterizing this, but at least on several occasions, Dad
- 6:56told me that his take on the JFK thing was, regardless of what
- 7:00happened, 100% the Warren Commission.
- 7:05I don't think they thought he was the only shooter.
- 7:08I think they thought there was something bad and they needed to
- 7:11paper over it. And I think in the doing of
- 7:14that, like the truth is the first casualty, right?
- 7:18We didn't get to the bottom of it then.
- 7:20And there was, I mean, another way to say it is that, yeah,
- 7:24there was a cover up by the Warren Commission, but they
- 7:26didn't know what they were covering up.
- 7:28They were just like, we want this to go away.
- 7:31And I, you know, I don't think that.
- 7:33I don't think that works very well.
- 7:36Yeah. I don't know if if something
- 7:40nefarious happened, whether Epstein or whether JFK and
- 7:45you're trying to hush it, hush it up.
- 7:48It's not going to work. I mean, you're not going to
- 7:52quell the and that that's kind of where I was going last week
- 7:55is it's like, you know, if you really wanted to end this thing,
- 8:00there's ways you could do it, But it it just doesn't seem like
- 8:04they were interested. I think they want it to go away,
- 8:07but then it's like, OK, you know, it's like either you're
- 8:11really bad at PR and you, you're not able to put this to bed in
- 8:17an easy way. Or.
- 8:19It's, you know, you can't put lipstick on a pig and there's no
- 8:22way you're going to make it go away.
- 8:24You know what I mean? So it's like, yeah, I, I feel
- 8:27like, you know, we talked about this in detail last week.
- 8:30I am having a hard time getting past it.
- 8:34You know, it, it, it, it just seems so prominent in
- 8:36everything. And it's like it's got to get
- 8:40dealt with or else I don't know how he's going to be able to
- 8:43govern at all. So I think and I think one of
- 8:47the reasons why I think we got along really well talking about
- 8:50this last week, I think it's kind of one of the least
- 8:53political discussions that we've had.
- 8:56It is a, the, the Epstein story is an equal opportunity
- 9:02embarrassment for Republicans and Democrats alike and probably
- 9:06a whole bunch of people that we don't know who.
- 9:09And even if there's no evidence of people actively participating
- 9:16in that, which Epstein was purveying, I, I think what's
- 9:21really evident is that a lot of people, even if they weren't
- 9:25playing that game, you can't say that they didn't know what was
- 9:29going on. And I think that's embarrassing
- 9:32to people. I think it's, it's been proven
- 9:35in my mind to be a bipartisan or a a non partisan issue.
- 9:42If there was a strong advantage to the Democrats, somebody in
- 9:46the Biden administration would have find a way, found a way to
- 9:48play the card. If the only name in it that you
- 9:53would know is Bill Clinton and everybody else has got clean
- 9:56hands, I feel pretty confident that we'd have had that on the
- 10:02front page the day after. So it's clearly there's a lot of
- 10:06people with a lot of reasons to to want to hide it.
- 10:10And, and so I don't think this is Republican, Democrat.
- 10:14I think this is the insiders versus the people in some ways.
- 10:21Yeah, I think I might have texted you this week.
- 10:23I was watching a TikTok or YouTube short or something like
- 10:27that of A and some conservative influence or what was on there.
- 10:30And he's like, finally with the one topic all sides are agreeing
- 10:35on, you know, like, you know, thank you, Jeffrey Epstein, for
- 10:39bringing the country together. You know, I'm not sure that's
- 10:44what we wanted. But but honestly, to your point,
- 10:47I mean, I don't, I mean, there are certainly people that are
- 10:51trying to bury it. Here's one that's interesting to
- 10:54me is Rupert Murdoch. Wall Street Journal is
- 10:59publishing exposes, if not that you have the Fox News app on
- 11:05your phone. But if you did read the Fox News
- 11:07app, you could control F Epstein on the Fox website.
- 11:13You're not going to find it. I mean, it is, it is like
- 11:17absent. And so then it's like, what is
- 11:20up with that? Because he's got control over
- 11:22both, right? And the Wall Street Journal has
- 11:24been way out in front on this. And you know the So you told me,
- 11:30I think, that Trump sued the Wall Street Journal over the one
- 11:34article about the birthday card thing for 10.
- 11:37Was it $10 billion? Yeah, you know, you know, 10
- 11:41billion. Well, like I said, you know, I
- 11:45mean, Rupert Murdoch's nobody's fool.
- 11:48I don't think that they published that without, without
- 11:51the receipts in the bank. They know what they're doing.
- 11:54And so I yeah, but it's interesting this.
- 11:58Playing both sides of the fence there, the two entities.
- 12:03Yeah. But really, I mean, again, talk
- 12:05about uniting the country, though.
- 12:06I don't know. I don't know anybody.
- 12:09I haven't talked to anybody of any political persuasion who
- 12:11said, yeah, you know, when she said there's nothing there, I I
- 12:16accept that. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 12:19Yeah, yeah. Well, it's.
- 12:20Not number one, I will. I will say you talk about
- 12:23conspiracies. So we're at this, we went to
- 12:27Dallas Farmers Market and we were eating lunch there and I
- 12:32kids give me a hard time 'cause I tend to talk to strangers
- 12:35regularly, you know, and there were this these family from
- 12:40Pennsylvania there. I start slinging it with them
- 12:43and this guy, you know, he's a corrections officer.
- 12:47Well, then we get into all this sling about that and that was a
- 12:50whole other thing, 'cause I'm like.
- 12:53Say, knowing what you do for a living, Tell me about what you
- 12:56could do with a bench. I should have, yes.
- 12:59Well, because I was like, I'd actually just seen or this week
- 13:05Rogan had this guy on pretty fascinating author.
- 13:09This, I forget the guy's name. He's an author and he spent like
- 13:1320 years in prison for murder. He actually murdered somebody,
- 13:15but he just spent time in prison.
- 13:17But he spent a lot of time in in solitary confinement because of
- 13:21and he'd assaulted an officer. And then he told his old
- 13:24stories. Pretty interesting story.
- 13:27Maybe he's talking about being in solitaire and the whole
- 13:29thing. And and I'm talking to this guy,
- 13:31but he was like, he's like, well, there's no such thing as
- 13:34solitaire. I was like, well, I mean, sounds
- 13:38like there's these, these people put in the cell and he's like,
- 13:40well, I mean, we interface with them all, all day.
- 13:42I mean, we're talking to them throughout the day.
- 13:44We deliver them lunch and then, you know, we see him, you know,
- 13:48so his slang was like, you know, it's not really solitary because
- 13:53people see him throughout the day.
- 13:55But we get to talking about politics and, you know, I could
- 13:58tell he was I could tell he wasn't on your side of the
- 14:01aisle, let's put it that way, based on because one of the
- 14:04things he said, because he was talking about the the no
- 14:07solitary confinement, he's like, well, that's a that's a liberal
- 14:11conspiracy that that there's such thing as solitary
- 14:14confinement. He's like, that's just a liberal
- 14:17thing. And I'm like, OK.
- 14:20And then I said, well, what do you think about the Epstein
- 14:22situation? And he's like, well, you, you
- 14:25know. You ask a dude you've never met
- 14:28from visiting from Pennsylvania at the farmers market.
- 14:32What do you think about the Epstein deal?
- 14:35I got it. Well, after he told me that, you
- 14:38know, it's a liberal conspiracy of solitary confinement, I
- 14:42thought, man, I got to find out where he's at on this.
- 14:44And he said, well, he said, you know, I I think there's
- 14:48something bigger at play. And and he's like, yeah, I
- 14:52could, I could agree with that. He's like, no, I think, I think
- 14:55this is all purposeful. He's like what I see going on
- 14:58with Elon and Trump, He's like, you know what this is?
- 15:01I can't believe the guy was like, you know, this is very
- 15:06similar to like, like, you know the the WWE plot lines.
- 15:14Yes, you know the WWE plot lines.
- 15:17And I'm like, you know, for those that you know, the World
- 15:21Wrestling Enterprise's plot line, he's like, that's what's
- 15:24going on. It's AWWE plot line.
- 15:26I was like, OK, that's. Epstein's going to come walking
- 15:31back into the ring with a Cape on or?
- 15:35Something. But then that is.
- 15:36That's interesting. All right.
- 15:40I just, I, I, I just got tickled a minute ago and I was laughing
- 15:43because the way he said it, he's like, well, you know, as though,
- 15:47you know, 'cause I mean, maybe that's maybe that's a whole
- 15:50other political path. But the fact that, you know, I
- 15:54signaled that we had a similar world view.
- 15:57He just assumed that I, I'm familiar with WWE plotline.
- 16:01So there's that. Yeah, it's, it's interesting.
- 16:06And I don't think that like I, I don't think the story, I don't
- 16:11think the story goes away. I think people want answers.
- 16:15In some ways, I think it's a little risky because you know
- 16:18that there might not be, it might, to your point, it might
- 16:22not be that interesting a story. It might be a dirtbag who had
- 16:27this kind of thing that he did and people that he worked with
- 16:31and he profited off of it and that's the end of it.
- 16:35It doesn't seem like that to me though.
- 16:37The whole thing, just the, the, the, the biggest parts that I
- 16:42find like I can't connect those dots.
- 16:45I can't add it up. Where did he get the money?
- 16:49Where did he get the money? Where?
- 16:52Did he teacher to advisor of the billionaires?
- 16:56OK, Yeah. Yeah, and if not a intelligence
- 17:01gathering mission or a bribery for or a blackmail for profit
- 17:06scam, you got an island, you've got a jet.
- 17:11You can do anything that you want.
- 17:12Why, why you got why you got to be roping in all these other
- 17:17people. Like like if this was his
- 17:21interest, I I I don't understand what his motivation for running
- 17:25this enterprise would. Yeah, well, and why, you know,
- 17:30what is it about the situation that both Trump and Biden are
- 17:37deciding not to release the information?
- 17:39That's the part that I just, I can't like, I like, OK, I, I
- 17:43know Trump. They said Trump's name was in
- 17:45it. Well, obviously, I mean, he was
- 17:46in the flight logs. I mean that that.
- 17:48And so I wouldn't be surprised if there's more on him.
- 17:51But, you know, back to the, well, why didn't Biden release
- 17:53it? And, and, and why are the, you
- 17:55know, the Democrats have not made an issue of this thing?
- 17:57I mean, you know, and that's, you know, and that's a lot of
- 18:01why this is coming back to haunt them.
- 18:03But the Republicans, Trump and Patel and Bongino and all these
- 18:06guys are released. The released nobody on the, on
- 18:08the left has ever said one thing about the, the files, releasing
- 18:13the files. So there's, there's, you know,
- 18:16what is that element there that prevents them?
- 18:19It it's just and yeah, it's that's the thing.
- 18:24That's the thing that is crazy about it.
- 18:25It could be as simple as, well, Biden didn't release it because
- 18:29there was nothing there and there really isn't anything
- 18:32there. And they hyped this thing up
- 18:35like there's all this conspiracy and there's not.
- 18:38But then I don't know why you wouldn't, why wouldn't you just
- 18:41come out and say, well, here's what we got there.
- 18:43Just there isn't much. I mean, here's everything we
- 18:45got. You've seen it.
- 18:46He doesn't have a black book. Like here's all the stuff he
- 18:49does have that we can share. And the rest of it we can't.
- 18:51Like, you know that that would take 10 minutes to explain and
- 18:54most people would believe it. But instead there's nothing
- 18:58there. And you're an idiot if you think
- 19:00they're like. Yeah, well, and I think that yet
- 19:03I don't want to presume about things, but the article the Wall
- 19:07Street Journal posted about the contribution from the proposed
- 19:11to be from Trump to the to the book.
- 19:15I don't know. I mean, you know, I'm not a
- 19:17Trump fan that that would be true.
- 19:20I, I that seems like like, please tell me that that's not
- 19:26enough of a deal that you're willing to try to avoid the
- 19:29release to avoid, you know, right.
- 19:32Maybe unsightly, but I don't know, like, like you said, he's,
- 19:37he's in the flight log. So that it's, it's not like
- 19:40there's no connection there. And if it was so damning about
- 19:44Trump, then why wouldn't Biden have you like that?
- 19:49And I hate to be the conspiratorialist, but I keep
- 19:53coming back to some sort of intelligence, international
- 19:58politics kind of thing, because that's the only kind of thing
- 20:02that I think that you could get. You've probably got damning
- 20:07information about high profile figures in both parties and yet
- 20:12nobody's touching it with a with a 10 foot pole.
- 20:16Why not? And and if it's that, you know,
- 20:19it's Mossad, if it's KGB or CIA, you know, any of the above.
- 20:25And. And that's why they're.
- 20:26I still don't understand why it. It just seems like a really
- 20:30weird turn of events. Yeah.
- 20:34And I just don't, you know, in the part that pisses me off too,
- 20:39is like, you know, it's between this and I've, I've shared this
- 20:43and the big beautiful, the big piece of crap Bill.
- 20:47Both things have pissed me off and I'm not enamored about.
- 20:51There's a lot of other things I I still agree with and I think
- 20:54he did well and and there's other things I'd like him to do.
- 20:57So like, you know, I'm not ready to go vote in a a Democrat, but
- 21:02I want more than I'm getting and I want different.
- 21:06And it's like, but I feel like whatever else he's going to do
- 21:11in his administration, I don't know how you get there without
- 21:14solving this. Like, I feel like they're nuts
- 21:17if they think they can put their head in the sand and think this
- 21:20thing's going to go away. I mean, I think this is just the
- 21:23beginning. I mean, this is going to
- 21:25envelope, you know, how can it not?
- 21:28It just seems like such a weird response and it's fired up so
- 21:37many folks like somebody had mentioned like, well, maybe
- 21:41it'll just go away. No, it's not going to go away.
- 21:43You can't. I, I just don't see how this, I
- 21:47didn't see how he gets past this.
- 21:48I mean, if he's not going to write this and I, I said last
- 21:52week, like I think it's a good possibility the guy resides.
- 21:56I don't know how. I just don't know how he's going
- 21:58to accomplish anything until this is resolved.
- 22:03And you know, maybe there's a way to resolve it.
- 22:06I don't know. Well, I think that it has the
- 22:08potential to the longer it goes unresolved, you get to the point
- 22:13where maybe the resolution, the real resolution is unsatisfying.
- 22:18And then and then what do you do?
- 22:20And and that in some ways linking it back to the Kennedy
- 22:23thing, I don't know. I mean, it might have been Lee
- 22:27Harvey Oswald with a couple lucky shots.
- 22:29It, it it might have been something really straightforward
- 22:33that the KGB work this deal out. They did it, but in the process
- 22:40of papering over at the Warren Commission, guaranteed that it
- 22:43would be this like unhealed wound that would just go on and
- 22:47on and on. And I think that that might be
- 22:51the kind of risk that we're dealing with here that, you
- 22:54know, now the expectations are high because people who think
- 22:58that there's something there, I'd probably put myself in that
- 23:02category. What?
- 23:03What would satisfy me at this point?
- 23:06You know, like. Well, and that that's the thing,
- 23:09like I'm less concerned about whether there is something there
- 23:13or there's not something there. I just want like a realistic
- 23:16explanation. Like, I just want a truthful,
- 23:19what seems like a truthful explanation.
- 23:22And the way it came off is it sounds like they're covering
- 23:25something up now. If they're not, it wouldn't take
- 23:28much to explain it. Like you kind of like I said,
- 23:30like, hey, here's what we got. We thought there was a lot.
- 23:34We dug into it. There's not.
- 23:36So so Glenn Maxwell gets an immunity deal to to tell her
- 23:42story, but leaves the meeting with a box and a bunch of
- 23:46documents. Saw that?
- 23:47Yeah. How does that in your mind?
- 23:50What, what do you think that what is that going to look like?
- 23:53Is it an immunity deal because we think you've gotten a raw
- 23:57deal or is it an immunity deal if and only if you tell this
- 24:03particular story? That's kind of the the
- 24:06assertion, right? Like, yeah, you, you, you got a
- 24:08deal here, here. That box was full of the script
- 24:12that she had to memorize. Yeah, well, and then there's
- 24:16talk he's going to partner and then it's like, OK, that's
- 24:19creepy. Yeah.
- 24:23Yeah. I mean, yeah, I, I don't know,
- 24:27I'm, I, I voted for Trump. I believed in the things that he
- 24:32was supporting and supported him.
- 24:35But but I'm not, you know, supported a position because I
- 24:40think he could get the things accomplished.
- 24:42But I'm not, you know, I don't think he's Jesus.
- 24:46I, you know, I was hopefully could do some really good
- 24:49things. I'm still hopefully you can do
- 24:51some good things and navigate a path around this.
- 24:55But at the same time, you know, I'm not for the guy no matter
- 25:00what. And if it comes out that there's
- 25:03more to this story in a bad way, like I'm not, I'm obviously not
- 25:10for that. You know what I mean?
- 25:11It's like, and that's what it's and I feel like if there truly
- 25:17is nothing there, he needs to run quickly to the area of, you
- 25:23know, demonstrating Full disclosure that yeah, OK, we
- 25:28were friends, blah, blah, blah, like more disclosure, like
- 25:31disclose it all. Here's everything.
- 25:33We're friends. I kicked them out of the club.
- 25:35OK, great. But hiding crap or trying to
- 25:40change the subject. I, I was watching some other
- 25:42conservative influencers this week and they said, you know, as
- 25:45soon as he says Obama, you know, because this whole thing came up
- 25:50about Obama and the, and the Russia collusion.
- 25:53One of the conservative guys was like, as soon as he said Obama,
- 25:57I thought my head guilty like that.
- 26:00All you're doing is obfuscating what is going on now that said,
- 26:06but it's like the stuff they release.
- 26:07And that's what pisses me off about this because I do think
- 26:10there was a conspiracy there. I think, I think that is a
- 26:13criminal activity that took place, but that's not going to
- 26:16get any ounce of credibility. And it's certainly not going to
- 26:20get any ounce of credibility when that's your go to when
- 26:23you're trying to get out of this Epstein disaster that you
- 26:27created. And that's, I guess that's my
- 26:29problem is it's like all the things, all the priorities I
- 26:33have that I want to see accomplished.
- 26:34I don't see how any of them get addressed if we've had resolve
- 26:38in this thing. I mean, there's just too many
- 26:41open questions here. Do you think people have talked
- 26:44about fire, Pam Bondi, or is that of interest to you?
- 26:50Like that makes no sense to me, but I don't, I don't know what
- 26:54your take on that is Like. I don't think she was.
- 26:57Yeah, she didn't, I think. She's probably checked with the
- 26:59Home Office before she. Made the.
- 27:01I think she she reminds me of Tariq Aziz, you know,
- 27:06representing Saddam Hussein, like the the spokesman for
- 27:12Saddam Hussein fire Tariq Aziz. You know, he's trying to explain
- 27:19the sad of his. Yeah, I mean, I don't.
- 27:21I mean, she delivered the news so she came off as not genuine
- 27:27and not very, you know, credible.
- 27:29But I think she was just relaying the party line.
- 27:32I mean it sounds. Like, yeah, it's a, it's an
- 27:35interesting thing. I fully acknowledge.
- 27:38I think, like I've said, the I think there's, there's clearly
- 27:42material. Either there's nothing and we
- 27:45just can't let it go or I think that's, it's pretty obvious that
- 27:50there's probably damaging things about high profile Democrats.
- 27:53I, you know, like I said last week, you know, it would not
- 27:57shock me to learn Bill. Clinton.
- 28:00Honestly though, I'm. Like in the thing.
- 28:01I mean, I don't think Biden would have been that worried
- 28:04about insulting Clinton. Yeah.
- 28:07Unless it's illegal activity. Right, right.
- 28:11And if it was illegal activity that Clinton was involved in and
- 28:14Trump was involved in, and the only way you disclose it is
- 28:16disclose them both, But then, OK, if that illegal activity
- 28:19occurred, why wouldn't that have been investigated, prosecuted
- 28:22separately? I mean, if there, if there's
- 28:24evidence in these documents that illegal activity took place, I
- 28:29mean they wouldn't just sit on that and not do anything with
- 28:32it, right? Well, other than, Acosta said.
- 28:37I was investigating it but they told me to hands off because he
- 28:40was intelligence. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 28:43If it's intelligence, maybe I'm just, I don't know.
- 28:47I'd just be curious. Other folks like, is this top of
- 28:50mind every day? I mean, I it's on my mind every
- 28:53day. I don't like, I, I can't hardly.
- 28:56Like I see news stories and I'm like, I don't even care about
- 28:58this other stuff until they figure this out.
- 29:00But maybe I'm obsessed. I don't know, what do you think?
- 29:04I don't know, I'm, I've been a little disappointed by some of
- 29:07the the Democrat response. I think that there's been an
- 29:11effort on some Democrats to to tie the outrage over the scandal
- 29:18by some on the right to the Q Anon conspiracy thing.
- 29:24You know, and, and I think I said and when and when they do
- 29:27that, they kind of downplay the scandal of it.
- 29:31It's kind of like, look at those conspiratorialists getting all
- 29:35spun up about it. But I think that's the wrong
- 29:36place to be on this. I think it's AII do think it's a
- 29:39big deal. And again, I don't think it's a
- 29:41partisan deal. I think it's been evidentiary
- 29:44that two separate administrations of two different
- 29:48political parties have been cagey at best about what
- 29:54happened there. And that tells me that there's
- 29:57something really afoot. And I if that makes me a
- 30:00conspiratorialist, I'm, I'm on board.
- 30:02But yeah, I don't think it. There's just parts of this that
- 30:07don't add up to me. And, and I don't think it's like
- 30:10hidden stuff. I don't think, you know, this
- 30:13guy had all this money. You don't have an island and a
- 30:17jet without having a lot of money.
- 30:19And you don't get a lot of money being a high school math team.
- 30:22Right. Well, like that guy that we were
- 30:24talking about last week and talking about how he walks in,
- 30:29he's like, well, I was just trading currency.
- 30:31Like the guy swung it like he didn't know what the hell he was
- 30:34talking about, you know? Well, where do we go from here?
- 30:38What do you think? I don't know, because, you know,
- 30:40I was talking a little bit about like.
- 30:43And I think that's part of what is extra disappointing to me
- 30:48with Trump because one of the things that attracted me about
- 30:53him, yeah, I get he's a brash personality.
- 30:56He pisses people off, He's a bull in China shop.
- 30:59But there's an element of me that liked that because.
- 31:03And I think a lot of the population liked it too, in the
- 31:07sense that, OK, finally somebody's going to upend the
- 31:10norms and get crap done. OK, great.
- 31:15And he did that. I think he did a lot of those
- 31:17things in his first term. I don't think he did as much as
- 31:20he could have in his first term because I think he was
- 31:22surrounded by, you know, political appointees that he
- 31:25didn't pick. So, you know, I felt like he
- 31:28learned from that because a lot of the people that he wound up
- 31:31with his and his staff last time was who the Republican National
- 31:34Committee said to put in the cabinet and not necessarily who
- 31:37he thought of. So he had four years to think
- 31:40about it and now you got a staff.
- 31:41And you know, I get you, don't you don't think the same thing
- 31:46highly of his cabinet, but you do not.
- 31:50But I like the fact that, OK, he picked people.
- 31:54He can make crap happen. I love the fact he brought in
- 31:56Elon Musk. And hey, we're going to find
- 32:00trillions of dollars and we're going to cut it.
- 32:02And that I was really optimistic about that early on.
- 32:06And then, you know, we come out with this bill and it's like
- 32:10we're spending the same amount of money Biden spent.
- 32:14You know, what the hell did we accomplish?
- 32:17You know, like I said, the border he fixed, I, I mean,
- 32:21really, that didn't take a whole lot of effort.
- 32:24I mean, I think Biden could have fixed the border in 5 minutes as
- 32:27well if he'd have followed the law.
- 32:28But that's a whole other topic for another day.
- 32:31I think, you know, that was fixed pretty quickly.
- 32:34But then you get to this thing and it's like, well, he's not a
- 32:38politician. He doesn't care.
- 32:40He's going to release the stuff. And then you get what is a
- 32:43extreme An extreme level of conformance to normal political.
- 32:51Bullshit. That there's nothing here, guys,
- 32:54don't worry about it. You know, it's, it was like a
- 32:56standard. I think that's the part that is
- 32:59just torqued off myself. A lot of other people on the
- 33:02right is, you know, we wanted this guy 'cause he's going to go
- 33:05shake things up. And then we got like a status
- 33:08quo deep state answer on something that they had, they
- 33:13had promoted that there was something to be told, you know,
- 33:16and it's, I just feel like that's such a betrayal to what
- 33:21they were pushing that if there's not a reverse course or
- 33:25there's not AWWE style plot here that I'm missing, I just don't
- 33:31know how they get past it. I mean, I don't know that he's
- 33:33going to resign. But like, if, you know, you Fast
- 33:36forward a year and all anybody ever wants to talk about is
- 33:39Epstein, I don't know. Does he stick around?
- 33:41I don't know. Clearly kind of under his skin
- 33:45and and and trying to divert. I hope that yeah.
- 33:49Well, I guess that gives us material for future podcasts.
- 33:55And we still, Yeah. I don't, I don't know.
- 33:57I feel sorry for our producer. I'm not sure exactly what she's
- 34:00going to title this, you know. More.
- 34:02Of the same of last week, yeah. Then we're going to have like
- 34:06the 12th episode from now and like episode 11 about Epstein,
- 34:11you know, like, and you know, I don't care about Epstein.
- 34:15I hate even saying that Jack has his name, but it's like, I just
- 34:18feel like it's his subject that I think everybody would love to
- 34:21move on from if you could. Well, let's see what what the
- 34:25news brings us and maybe we get some some more resolution as we
