- 0:01Perhaps the biggest impediments to the exercise of the occult
- 0:05powers native to the human condition is our lack of
- 0:09willingness to acknowledge these powers for what they are and our
- 0:13lack of attention and focus on understanding, developing, and
- 0:18exercising them. When extraordinary circumstances
- 0:22arise and we actually concentrate our minds, things
- 0:27may take place that we do not associate with the direct action
- 0:31of our minds. Perhaps they occur out of
- 0:34sequence with our action or at a distant place, or in an
- 0:39unexpected manner. One way or the other, we fail to
- 0:43see the cause and effect relationship and thus we deny
- 0:47the reality of the action itself.
- 0:51It takes serious effort of observation and training to both
- 0:55identify and employ these powers in a fully effective and
- 0:59powerful manner. Written questions put to the
- 1:03Mother, then a sub question quote.
- 1:07Without conscious occult powers, is it possible to help or
- 1:11protect from a distance somebody in difficulty or danger?
- 1:15If so, what is the practical procedure?
- 1:20What can thought do? End Quote, the Mother responds.
- 1:25Quote. We are not going to speak of
- 1:28occult processes at all, although to tell the truth,
- 1:33everything that happens in the invisible world is a cult by
- 1:36definition. But still, practically there are
- 1:40two processes which do not exclude but complete each other,
- 1:45but which may be used separately according to one's preference.
- 1:49It is obvious that thought forms a part of one of the methods,
- 1:54quite an important part. I have already told you several
- 1:58times that if one thinks clearly and powerfully, one makes a
- 2:02mental formation, and that every mental formation is an entity
- 2:07independent of its fashioner, having its own life and tending
- 2:12to realize itself in the mental world.
- 2:16I don't mean that you see your formation with your physical
- 2:19eyes, but it exists in the mental world.
- 2:22It has its own particular independent existence.
- 2:27If you have made a formation with a definite aim, its whole
- 2:30life will tend to the realization of this aim.
- 2:34Therefore, if you want to help someone at a distance, you have
- 2:38only to formulate very clearly, very precisely and strongly the
- 2:44kind of help you want to give and the result you wish to
- 2:47obtain. That will have its effect.
- 2:51I cannot say that it will be all powerful, for the mental world
- 2:55is full of innumerable formations of this kind, and
- 2:59naturally they clash and contradict one another.
- 3:03Hence the strongest and the most persistent will have the best of
- 3:08it. Now, what is it that gives
- 3:11strength and persistence to mental formations?
- 3:15It is emotion and will. If you know how to add to your
- 3:19mental formation and emotion affection, tenderness, love, and
- 3:25an intensity of will, a dynamism, it will have a much
- 3:29greater chance of success. That is the first method.
- 3:34It is within the scope of all those who know how to think and
- 3:39even more of those who know how to love.
- 3:43But as I said, the power is limited and there is great
- 3:47competition in that world. Therefore, even if one has no
- 3:52knowledge at all, but has trust in the Divine grace, if one has
- 3:57the faith that there is something in the world like the
- 4:00Divine grace, and that this something can answer a prayer
- 4:05and aspiration and invocation, then after making one's mental
- 4:11formation, if one offers it to the grace and puts one's trust
- 4:17in it, asks it to intervene and has the faith that it will
- 4:22intervene, then indeed one has a chance of success.
- 4:28Try and you will surely see the result.
