- 0:11Hello friends. Hello friends, it's short and
- 0:17Yvonne here. Happy Friday.
- 0:19And we are actually, Yvonne, bending the space time continuum
- 0:23because we are. I'm actually in the state right
- 0:26now, in Canberra. So a spoiler alert, we may have
- 0:29recorded this before he left. Yeah, so I've been in Canberra
- 0:34this week doing some training, teaching mental health skills,
- 0:38awareness, whatever the correct term is, teaching about mental
- 0:41health challenges to all the new chaplains joining the Defence
- 0:44Force, which has been, I'm assuming, awesome.
- 0:47I'm sure it will have been. I'm not sure they'll be prepared
- 0:50for your engaging and dynamic interactive presentation style,
- 0:55including the gestures that we all know.
- 0:57And love, it might not be very Army, but it's going to be very
- 1:00Sean and two weeks of it, so they'll get used to me by the
- 1:03end. Just what they need.
- 1:06Good on you. But enough about me teaching.
- 1:09It's time to sit down in front of the King and have him teach
- 1:13us some good wise sayings that he has observed.
- 1:18You ready? I'm ready.
- 1:19Let's do it. Let us read together Proverbs 22
- 1:24eight to 14. Those who plant injustice will
- 1:38harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an
- 1:42end. Blessed are those who are
- 1:45generous because they feed the poor.
- 1:49Throw out the mocha and fighting goes too.
- 1:52Quarrels and insults will disappear.
- 1:56Whoever loves a pure heart and gracious speech will have the
- 2:00King as a friend. The Lord preserves those with
- 2:05knowledge, but He ruins the plans of the treacherous.
- 2:09The lazy person claims there's a lion out there.
- 2:13If I go outside, I might be killed.
- 2:17The mouth of an immoral woman is a dangerous trap.
- 2:21Those who make the Lord angry will fall into it.
- 2:26And again. Those who plant injustice will
- 2:30harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an
- 2:34end. Blessed are those who are
- 2:37generous because they feed the poor.
- 2:41Throw out the mocha and fighting goes to quarrels and insults
- 2:46will disappear. Whoever loves the pure heart and
- 2:51gracious Speech will have the King as a friend.
- 2:55The Lord preserves those with knowledge, but He ruins the
- 2:59plans of the treacherous. The lazy person claims there's a
- 3:04lion out there. If I go outside, I might be
- 3:07killed. The mouth of an immoral woman is
- 3:11a dangerous trap. Those who make the Lord angry
- 3:14will fall into it. Well, other than me misreading
- 3:20an immoral woman as an immortal. Woman, there was a few loves
- 3:23there. That is one of the few times
- 3:25I've seen you like rewind so that we can say that part again.
- 3:28Well, I don't think it works so well if it's an immortal woman.
- 3:31So which one of these kind of stands out to you?
- 3:33Eva, do you know my favourite was verse 11?
- 3:36Whoever loves a pure heart and gracious speech will have the
- 3:40king as a friend. Just, uh, it's beautiful.
- 3:45Let's love having people of pure heart and with gracious speech.
- 3:49And I just saw that as the Heavenly Father, the Heavenly
- 3:53King could be on our side. Yeah, that's gorgeous, isn't it?
- 3:57And the one before that really stood out to me that that if you
- 4:00throw out that mocha, if you get rid of that person, the fighting
- 4:04goes and quarrels go and insults go.
- 4:07So it's like we bring our character with us wherever we go
- 4:12and that shapes what happens to us.
- 4:14And you know, the one that you like as well speaks about.
- 4:17If our character is gracious and and pure, then doors will open
- 4:23and kings will be our friend. Nice.
- 4:28Well, Father, we are your children and we need your
- 4:33shaping as we go about our lives.
- 4:36Holy Spirit, I pray that you continue your work of
- 4:39transformation in US, that you can make us more and more like
- 4:43you, less and less like the mocha that we have inside of us,
- 4:47and more and more like that pure and gracious soul whose friends
- 4:52will include the King. We just thank you that you are
- 4:56the perfect example of graciousness and righteousness,
- 5:02and that you teach us how to be more like you.
- 5:06And you have given us Jesus so that we can see exactly what
- 5:09you're like. So we thank you for Jesus, and
- 5:12we thank you that you make us more like him every day.
- 5:16We pray this in his precious name.
- 5:18Amen. Amen.
