- 0:38Speaker 2: I thought it was pretty tense though.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like the minutes of my
- 0:42Speaker 1: life are worth something and I'm throwing them away watching
- 0:47Speaker 1: the show when i't watch them and drive one.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You don't want to call for bigot, You don't want
- 0:51Speaker 2: to go in a forest?
- 0:52Speaker 1: What makes you think I haven't already done that. We'll
- 0:56Speaker 1: talk about it when we get there. You know how
- 0:59Speaker 1: many singing balls? I know I've got all of the

- 1:17Speaker 1: reverent podcast, obviously we say stupid things. We are often vulgar,

- 2:32Speaker 1: everything you do helps us in the algorithm, So.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Thank you in advance. Also, did we we're at six thousand?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Shut your I had to tell you to wait. Yeah,
- 2:43Speaker 2: we're at six thousand, bitch.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Fin it took us like four years.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Oh my god. Let me have a little drink keeper
- 2:51Speaker 1: and celebration of this huge, this monumental six thousand on YouTube?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Bit do we get a plaque?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Maybe I'm a star? How exciting? Thanks everybody. I truly
- 3:02Speaker 1: appreciate all of your support.
- 3:04Speaker 2: About damn time. Now.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Before we get into the recap of Welcome to Plath, though,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I do have to ask you, Beatrice, do you have
- 3:11Speaker 1: a takeaway?
- 3:12Speaker 2: My takeaway this week is that Zach is pissing me off. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: that's it. I'm just like, dude, mind your business, keep
- 3:20Speaker 2: your nose out of everyone else's.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Stuff, and that small little doll mouth keep that shut.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Like, just shut up. Stop asking Ethan Plath questions he
- 3:30Speaker 2: obviously doesn't want to answer them. Just let him be
- 3:33Speaker 2: anti social and possibly drunk alone in the corner away
- 3:38Speaker 2: from you. You don't need to be talking about anything
- 3:40Speaker 2: with him.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't understand what that is about.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I think he has a brush on him.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Shut up, shut after, you're gonna get travel. But I
- 3:49Speaker 1: can see it. I mean I can totally see someone else.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I don't know the audacity, like just shut up, mind
- 3:55Speaker 2: your business. Damn.
- 3:57Speaker 1: My takeaway is that I think teak In sucks. Yeah, right,
- 4:02Speaker 1: which I'm really surprised about because I thought she was
- 4:05Speaker 1: very demure and very sweet last season, especially when she
- 4:10Speaker 1: was being attacked by that demon Veronica, Like she handled
- 4:14Speaker 1: herself well. Yeah, she seemed to compose like a very
- 4:17Speaker 1: lovely young lady. But I don't know. There's just like
- 4:21Speaker 1: some sort of an aura about her, Yeah, some sort
- 4:24Speaker 1: of a vibe. But it seems like she's being punitive.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's giving.
- 4:28Speaker 1: She's a bitch, it's giving. I'm here to make your
- 4:31Speaker 1: life miserable and van television.
- 4:34Speaker 2: For sure and get a paycheck.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So has anybody checked Ethan Plath's Instagram, like, do they
- 4:40Speaker 1: follow one another? You know, pictures between them to verify
- 4:47Speaker 1: whether they're still together in the Year of Our Lord.
- 4:51Speaker 2: He has not posted anything since August thirtieth, twenty twenty four.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Is that just pinned?
- 4:57Speaker 2: No, that's his that's his post. Oh my, really has
- 5:00Speaker 2: not been on Instagram since then.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Okay, so we have no way to know what about Teagan.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Let's see Teagan Nikols. No, she's just posted their straps.
- 5:09Speaker 2: She posted on March twenty ninth, and it's just pictures
- 5:13Speaker 2: of her life being a preppy white girl.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Okay, well, it seems like she's moving on with her life,
- 5:20Speaker 1: and certainly the vibration that I was getting in this
- 5:22Speaker 1: episode is like she does not want anything to do
- 5:24Speaker 1: with Ethan, and I can't blame her.
- 5:26Speaker 2: No, I can't blame her either, but I'm like, don't
- 5:28Speaker 2: be on the show then, and don't be like stringing
- 5:30Speaker 2: him along because he's obviously hopelessly in love with you.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he really is, like, oh that's your Oh sorry,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I've got a prayer to Mary. Oh but I actually
- 5:42Speaker 1: already did, so I've got that prayer taken care of.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Like every day at six o'clock, I see my little
- 5:47Speaker 1: prayer of marriage love. Anyway, So, without further ado, let's
- 5:53Speaker 1: get into our recap of Welcome to Plathfill Season eight,
- 5:57Speaker 1: episode six and.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Tattooed hick mud kiss mugrits.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Okay, what what is happening? I just don't understand the reason.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I don't get it. I mean I guess it's like instance,
- 6:10Speaker 2: I guess it's implying like Ethan and Zach, Like maybe
- 6:14Speaker 2: Ethan said that to Zach and maybe got edited out.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I don't know. It doesn't make sense. Make it makes
- 6:19Speaker 1: sense though.
- 6:20Speaker 2: But it's the middle of November. I guess we're starting
- 6:23Speaker 2: off with Thanksgiving at the Plath family farm. It's the
- 6:27Speaker 2: first Thanksgiving that they're having back at the farm since
- 6:31Speaker 2: Kim blew up the family with her infidelitous divorce infidelitus? Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 2: is that the word? And unfaithful cheating ass I don't
- 6:42Speaker 2: fucking know. Okay, you're the word expert over here, damn. Anyway,
- 6:47Speaker 2: So after Kim blew up the family by cheating on
- 6:50Speaker 2: Barry with Ken Palmer, we're having Thanksgiving with Ken Palmer
- 6:55Speaker 2: and Barry. Barry is gonna come to the Thanksgiving with the.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Farmer home and sit at Ken's table, Ken's table to
- 7:02Speaker 1: eat this meal with his family, which is whack. It's
- 7:06Speaker 1: wild business.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I don't understand. I give them props for Kim and
- 7:10Speaker 2: Barry to be able to be cordial for the sake
- 7:13Speaker 2: of the kids and the sake of the family. I
- 7:15Speaker 2: think that that's great. Not many divorced couples can do that,
- 7:19Speaker 2: even half of that, but it's just fucking weird to me.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But anyway, so we have most of the family there,
- 7:25Speaker 2: except for Micah and Mariah because they're out of state
- 7:28Speaker 2: and they obviously don't want to be at Thanksgiving with
- 7:31Speaker 2: the family. I can't say I blame them.
- 7:33Speaker 1: But can we just pause here because we just watched
- 7:37Speaker 1: the interview with Michelt and Michelty actually got into the
- 7:41Speaker 1: coins how much money the kids received when they filmed
- 7:46Speaker 1: for Sister Wives, And so if we take that equation
- 7:49Speaker 1: and we apply it to the Plath kids, of course
- 7:52Speaker 1: they're all adults.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Now.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I don't think they were getting a ton of money
- 7:57Speaker 1: from TLC, but they were making some money. So, like,
- 8:00Speaker 1: can Micah or Mariah afford not to film?
- 8:06Speaker 2: I don't know, probably not. I don't think they're making
- 8:09Speaker 2: a lot of money.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Well what is Micah doing instead? Because my rac houm
- 8:12Speaker 1: brain goes in so many different lurid directions as to
- 8:17Speaker 1: what he might be doing, because maybe he's building fences
- 8:18Speaker 1: in Florida. Sure, yeah, but maybe he's not only fan
- 8:22Speaker 1: and if he is, oh.
- 8:24Speaker 2: My god, we should subscribe in a heartbeat.
- 8:27Speaker 1: We should describe it. What's Mariah doing? She's probably working
- 8:30Speaker 1: at a.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Bar, probably, yeah, she's probably bartending.
- 8:32Speaker 1: But doesn't she need the show?
- 8:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I like I said, like, I don't
- 8:37Speaker 2: think they're making a lot of money, so they probably
- 8:39Speaker 2: don't need it. Like Mikelty Patrone on her podcast was
- 8:41Speaker 2: saying that she was making some money but not enough
- 8:45Speaker 2: to be like an actual job. So well, and it
- 8:47Speaker 2: was filtered through her parents exactly, so it's not like
- 8:50Speaker 2: TLC gave the kids a check. I just I'm just
- 8:52Speaker 2: wondering why they wouldn't be more optimistic about filming the show,
- 8:57Speaker 2: Like why aren't.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We seeing Micah? I want to know what's happened in
- 9:00Speaker 1: your life Micah.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Well, I could see why Micah doesn't want to be
- 9:02Speaker 2: on the show because Veronica ruined it for him last
- 9:05Speaker 2: year and made us such a fucking drama, made us
- 9:08Speaker 2: such a stink for the entire family, not just him,
- 9:11Speaker 2: So I could see why he'd be like, let me
- 9:13Speaker 2: just hang out with my girlfriend's slash boyfriend in Florida
- 9:17Speaker 2: and live my best life, you know what I mean?
- 9:19Speaker 2: And Mariah's like, I'm in Montana, so bye. I just
- 9:22Speaker 2: have questions that's all sure, and that's fair and valid.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I'm here to hold space for your questions. But Ethan
- 9:29Speaker 2: is back from Wisconsin. So if you recall last week
- 9:32Speaker 2: he drove in one night to Wisconsin to stock Teegan
- 9:36Speaker 2: in his old man car and to find an apartment
- 9:39Speaker 2: to live next to her. They reunited. It was awkward.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Now he's back. He drove all in one night back
- 9:47Speaker 2: from Wisconsin down to kro He's tired. He's fucking tired.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And if I was him, the last thing I would
- 9:55Speaker 2: want to do is like have my family.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Ask me, interrogate me, interrogate me.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Let me just eat my ham and my turkey and
- 10:05Speaker 2: my homemade bread and drink from my thermos. Did you
- 10:09Speaker 2: notice that?
- 10:10Speaker 1: No, he was.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Drinking something out of his thermos while everybody else was
- 10:14Speaker 2: drinking that weird green drink that can go.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Oh no, I did not notice that. So he's a
- 10:18Speaker 1: full blown drinker.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, Slash. He's like drinking whiskey
- 10:22Speaker 2: or something in that thermos.
- 10:23Speaker 1: But was quite a nice spread though. Oh yeah, the
- 10:26Speaker 1: food looked great, the ham looked wonderful. I'm hungry, theigle
- 10:29Speaker 1: smoke turkey. I haven't eaten yet. Today, I should not
- 10:32Speaker 1: have this cocktail. I'm going to fall apart. Just letting
- 10:34Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:35Speaker 2: One thing we did learn though from the plasts. I
- 10:38Speaker 2: think they may have talked about it in the earlier seasons,
- 10:40Speaker 2: but I was actually surprised to hear it is that
- 10:43Speaker 2: they didn't celebrate any of the holidays, yeah, except for Thanksgiving.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So like they didn't celebrate Christmas, they didn't celebrate Halloween, Easter,
- 10:51Speaker 2: or Valentine's Day for some reason. But Thanksgiving was okay.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And I just if I was a kid in this family,
- 10:58Speaker 2: I would be so bitter about that. I'd be so
- 11:00Speaker 2: fucking bitter.
- 11:01Speaker 1: It's like they were Jehovah's witnesses.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I know, it's like weird, where's.
- 11:04Speaker 1: The joy, where's the fun? But like why Thanksgiving? Though,
- 11:07Speaker 1: probably because it's a nationalistic holiday. It's about Amrouco, right,
- 11:11Speaker 1: so we've got to celebrate. But if it comes to
- 11:13Speaker 1: Christ and Christmas and Easter is Holy Resurrection, that.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Doesn't make sense.
- 11:17Speaker 1: It doesn't at all.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That doesn't make any sense to me.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Maybe because they think that Christmas and Easter are actually
- 11:25Speaker 1: Pegan holidays. Because I know a lot of fundamentalist Christians
- 11:28Speaker 1: won't celebrate because of that.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I guess that's probably what it is. Yeah, but that's
- 11:32Speaker 2: also lame and like shitty to deprive your kids of that.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But whatever, it's not fun at.
- 11:37Speaker 2: All, not fun at all. But Kim talks about when
- 11:40Speaker 2: they did celebrate Thanksgiving as a family, they would actually
- 11:43Speaker 2: rent a beach house and she would make chili for Thanksgiving. Yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 2: which I'm just like, okay, weird. But this year we
- 11:51Speaker 2: have old man one eye, racist Ken Palmer smoking the turkey.
- 11:56Speaker 2: It looked dry to me personally, didn't look like a juicy, delicious.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Turch just needed some gravy honey.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And then did you see that they were making canned
- 12:04Speaker 2: cranberry sauce. Yes, I'm just like, you've changed me with
- 12:08Speaker 2: those heathens. Disgusting.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It doesn't take a lot to just buy the bag
- 12:13Speaker 1: of cranberries.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And make a delicious cranberry.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So what in the pot? A little lemon, a little orange,
- 12:18Speaker 1: some sugar. Oh my god, it change a life, It
- 12:20Speaker 1: changes your lies, it does.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So then we have everybody sitting down having dinner and
- 12:26Speaker 2: talking or whatever, except for Ethan, who is drinking and
- 12:30Speaker 2: eating his ham quietly. We have Kim making comments about
- 12:35Speaker 2: like when are we gonna have little ones at the table,
- 12:38Speaker 2: because you know, we have Isaac and Caitlin who are
- 12:40Speaker 2: back together, Nobody cares. They broke up for literally four days,
- 12:43Speaker 2: another back together, nobody cares. And then we have Lydia
- 12:46Speaker 2: and Zach who are lovebirds, I guess, and Lydia's got
- 12:49Speaker 2: baby fever and Kim senses that, and Kim makes a
- 12:52Speaker 2: comment inappropriately being like, oh, well, you know me and Ken,
- 12:56Speaker 2: we're not out of the race yet. We could have babies.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Okay, So I took that initially as a joke. Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: because Kim, you are fifty two to fifty three, I
- 13:08Speaker 1: think your fertility is dead and gone. Maybe I know
- 13:12Speaker 1: it's happened before, like there have been medical miracles like
- 13:15Speaker 1: Gordon Ramsay's wife, But I just I don't think that
- 13:18Speaker 1: that's you. So, like I was thinking she was joking, yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: But then the further we get into the episode, she
- 13:23Speaker 1: kind of brings it up a couple of games, like
- 13:25Speaker 1: she's serious about it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Like what if we could have a baby boy together, Ken,
- 13:30Speaker 2: wouldn't that be great? I would love to give you
- 13:32Speaker 2: a baby boy, Like what.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Anna's like seventy two or something, he's like literally retired.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I already have grandchildren. I don't want to do any
- 13:41Speaker 1: of that. Are you crazy? Are we looking for storylines?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Is this just a plot? Because I can't believe she's serious.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I was kind of thinking about it in the context
- 13:51Speaker 2: with you, because you've made jokes like that before too,
- 13:53Speaker 2: like of like, oh, like we could have babies. Ugh,
- 13:56Speaker 2: but like you're obviously joking and not being enterprise obvious though,
- 14:02Speaker 2: why do you want me to explain biology whatever? I'm sorry,
- 14:09Speaker 2: your womb is barren?
- 14:11Speaker 1: Holy fuck, I don't have a wombre, not anymore.
- 14:16Speaker 2: But it's like, you know, I could see it from
- 14:18Speaker 2: that context, like maybe Kim was joking, but she did
- 14:21Speaker 2: kept pressing it, and it kind of felt like to me,
- 14:24Speaker 2: she wanted to tell everybody like me and Kenner fucking though,
- 14:29Speaker 2: like nobody needs to know that, nobody needs to visualize that.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I would rather not think about that ever in my life,
- 14:35Speaker 2: and same with your kids.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think she does believe she could have a child.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It was definitely giving Ramona Singer from Real Housewives of
- 14:45Speaker 1: New York when she missed her period at fifty four
- 14:47Speaker 1: years of age. She's like, meybe ain't pregnant. No, you
- 14:50Speaker 1: are in menopausa. Honey, how do you not know that?
- 14:53Speaker 2: That's crazy?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Why do we have basic health understanding about her own
- 14:56Speaker 1: body's Kim?
- 14:58Speaker 2: That's literally crazy to me.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Come back to reality, Kim.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, like you're not Gordon Ramsay's wife who has had
- 15:03Speaker 2: two kids now in her fifties. What, yes, bitch, her
- 15:08Speaker 2: and Gordon are fucking still and they've had two kids.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Was she trying?
- 15:12Speaker 2: No?
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think they were just well, Kim is very fertile,
- 15:15Speaker 1: so you never know when you're gonna have a magical bundle.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Maybe that's great, but like maybe you shouldn't.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I would advice against it, Kim.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Maybe personally not a wise decision. And so after the
- 15:27Speaker 2: whole like baby discussion, you know, Lydia is obviously got
- 15:30Speaker 2: baby fever. You know, we hear from Zach saying like, well,
- 15:34Speaker 2: there's like some logistical things that we have to figure
- 15:36Speaker 2: out before we have a baby, Like you know, I
- 15:38Speaker 2: have to get hard. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I was thinking I have to get a real job.
- 15:46Speaker 2: That too, I have to have a real career.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I have to be able to support myself starting there.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but also I have to be able to come in.
- 15:57Speaker 1: You are so terrible.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I have to be crazy because this episode was kind
- 16:02Speaker 2: of boring, especially in the beginning. Yeah, and so after dinner,
- 16:06Speaker 2: everybody goes to clean up, and then we have this
- 16:09Speaker 2: really awkward conversation between Zach and Ethan. So Ethan is
- 16:14Speaker 2: sitting by himself like a drunk, and he's angry, he's tired,
- 16:21Speaker 2: he's brooding. Okay, he's obviously wanting to be by himself.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Then we have Zach and Lydia like inserting themselves into
- 16:31Speaker 2: Ethan's alone time, and Zach in particular is like wanting
- 16:35Speaker 2: to interrogate Ethan about his move to Wisconsin, and I'm
- 16:39Speaker 2: just like, dude, it's not your fucking business. So I
- 16:42Speaker 2: don't know what we're doing here. But he's like asking
- 16:45Speaker 2: him all of these like detailed questions like when are
- 16:48Speaker 2: you going to move up there? What are your plans
- 16:50Speaker 2: with Teacan? Are you guys going to get back together,
- 16:52Speaker 2: do you have a job lined up? What are your
- 16:54Speaker 2: plans for the future, what does your future look like
- 16:56Speaker 2: with Teacan?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Like, dude, yeah, it was a lot. Barry was there
- 17:00Speaker 1: as well, and Barry was like, a, you know, maybe
- 17:03Speaker 1: he doesn't want to hear your questions, maybe now isn't
- 17:06Speaker 1: the right time, but he says that to the camera.
- 17:08Speaker 1: He doesn't in the moment advocate for Ethan and say, hey,
- 17:11Speaker 1: maybe stop asking these questions. Like I wouldn't have minded
- 17:14Speaker 1: that as much if it were just Lydia, or even
- 17:17Speaker 1: if Zach was there and Lydia was asking. Yeah, but
- 17:19Speaker 1: having Zach this newcomer to the family, and I assume
- 17:23Speaker 1: he's younger than Ethan.
- 17:25Speaker 2: He is younger.
- 17:25Speaker 1: He certainly has never been married for years like Ethan,
- 17:29Speaker 1: like to have this newcomer presumed to interrogate me about
- 17:33Speaker 1: what my intentions are, like why and.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Then like ask why like personal questions. He's like, well,
- 17:38Speaker 2: why did you guys break up? What led to the separation?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Like is that really your fucking business?
- 17:43Speaker 1: Though? So is production putting Zach up to this? This
- 17:45Speaker 1: is the question that I had for myself. Is it
- 17:48Speaker 1: like TLC, is it for a storyline or is this
- 17:52Speaker 1: just who Zach is. I think we're going to learn
- 17:55Speaker 1: more as the episodes go on, like the nature and
- 17:58Speaker 1: the character of Zach. But like it was really icky, yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and it was also very prideful. And I actually texted Beatrice,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I'm like it's giving. He wants to be a pastor totally,
- 18:08Speaker 1: or he wants to be in ministry and he wants
- 18:10Speaker 1: to counsel men. Yes, I wonder why.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Council men or something like that, But I mean it
- 18:17Speaker 3: was just giving, like he was trying to take this
- 18:19Speaker 3: pious position over Ethan and Ethan like Ethan could handle
- 18:23Speaker 3: one question, yeah, but then you had a second question
- 18:27Speaker 3: and a third question and you could just see Ethan's.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Face get red. Yeah, his blood pressure is going up,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and Zach's not reading any of these cues, and I'm
- 18:36Speaker 1: just like.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Stop, back off, obvious, what are you doing well? And
- 18:40Speaker 2: you have like multiple members of the family like talking
- 18:43Speaker 2: to the camera being like, yeah, you know, we don't
- 18:45Speaker 2: press Ethan on these kinds of things, like Barry being like, yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 2: Ethan's obviously in a mood like maybe don't talk to him. Zach, like,
- 18:51Speaker 2: let's maybe hold off on the questions. Like you have
- 18:54Speaker 2: these other people in the family that are typically not
- 18:57Speaker 2: super socially aware, but they're aware and to like deal
- 19:01Speaker 2: with Ethan, and they're looking at Zach being like, dude,
- 19:04Speaker 2: maybe let's hold off. So to me, it felt like
- 19:09Speaker 2: Zach's got some audacity. I think you're right. He does
- 19:12Speaker 2: want to be like a pastor and wants to counsel
- 19:14Speaker 2: men totally on this kind of stuff, and he wants
- 19:18Speaker 2: to like come from this religious authority. And I think, like,
- 19:22Speaker 2: if we're to believe what we saw in the preview
- 19:25Speaker 2: last week about how Lydia and Zach are apparently going
- 19:28Speaker 2: to people in the family and lecturing them on being
- 19:31Speaker 2: godly enough and making correct choices, like I could totally
- 19:36Speaker 2: see Zach inserting himself to the family like I'm this
- 19:39Speaker 2: religious authority, like get out of here.
- 19:41Speaker 1: And a marriage authority. Yeah, I've been literally married for
- 19:45Speaker 1: six months for real, and you're going to presume to
- 19:47Speaker 1: tell somebody else how to be in a relationship or
- 19:49Speaker 1: you're going to be worried about them like with all
- 19:51Speaker 1: of your worldly experience with vaginas. I'm not buying it, honey,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I'm not trying that.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Like get out of here. But I will say, to
- 19:58Speaker 2: Ethan's credit, he did try to answer his questions to
- 20:01Speaker 2: the best of his ability without getting super.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Frustrated in a sort of monosyllabic Neanderthal way.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Totally, but like he wasn't being outwardly like fuck you
- 20:11Speaker 2: zag like he wasn't being as mean as he probably
- 20:14Speaker 2: could have been. Yes, then we shift gears entirely and
- 20:18Speaker 2: we have Barry Amber and Mercy going bigfoot hunting.
- 20:21Speaker 1: What are we doing here? So not last season, but
- 20:26Speaker 1: the season before when they went to that street carnival
- 20:29Speaker 1: and they tried to dunk Kim or whatever. This is
- 20:31Speaker 1: the same sort of a vibration. Yeah, like this is
- 20:34Speaker 1: just manufactured content that you think is going to be
- 20:37Speaker 1: entertaining it and it is not.
- 20:39Speaker 2: No.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Having said that, I do believe in Bigfoot.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I was on a walk today for like an hour
- 20:45Speaker 1: and a half because I'm an athlete.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Were you searching for Bigfoot?
- 20:48Speaker 1: I was searching, but it was kind of like out
- 20:49Speaker 1: in the forested areas and I'm just like listening for
- 20:53Speaker 1: like the rustling of the league, the tree knocks, stuff,
- 20:58Speaker 1: for the tree knocks, for the language that Barry was
- 21:00Speaker 1: talking about. But I got nothing. But I can understand.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I can understand being interested in Bigfoot or whatever, but like,
- 21:06Speaker 1: why are we putting this in the show.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It's pretty cringey. I was laughing at the Bigfoot Tour
- 21:12Speaker 2: guide because he's got this big old.
- 21:14Speaker 1: DC Stacy, the bigfoot guy.
- 21:17Speaker 2: God Beard, he's got the singing bowl. I laughed audibly,
- 21:21Speaker 2: like I was laughing hard when he did the Bigfoot call,
- 21:23Speaker 2: because I thought that was ridiculous.
- 21:25Speaker 1: In all seriousness, like this, this is his purpose on the
- 21:27Speaker 1: planet is to do the bigfoot call.
- 21:29Speaker 2: And he wanted the Blass to do it, and they're like, no, sorry,
- 21:33Speaker 2: not gonna do that. But I thought, I mean, it
- 21:35Speaker 2: was just boring content, like it's just manufactured. The only
- 21:38Speaker 2: thing that was interesting about this is when they're going
- 21:41Speaker 2: bigfoot hunting, we pivot on over to the Plath family
- 21:44Speaker 2: farm where Kim Ken and Cassia are baking cookies, and
- 21:49Speaker 2: then we have this like ridiculous comment from Kim saying like,
- 21:54Speaker 2: oh yeah, you know, like Berry's into a lot of
- 21:56Speaker 2: weird shit, just like Bigfoot, and like he's gonna have
- 21:59Speaker 2: a hard time. I need a woman who's also into
- 22:01Speaker 2: that weird shit. But like, good luck, you know, God bless,
- 22:03Speaker 2: you'll probably find somebody eventually. I'm like, girl, just taking.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Swipes, Like why are you gonna be like that? Mm hmm.
- 22:10Speaker 2: It's because she's jealous because you got jacked, you think so? Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 2: I think so. And like he's living his best life
- 22:15Speaker 2: and he's working on himself. And she's bitter because now
- 22:18Speaker 2: she's stuck with a one eyed racist.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And all of her children prefer Barry. It's not like
- 22:23Speaker 1: they're not coming along and having a better relationship with her,
- 22:26Speaker 1: but they definitely prefer Barry.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and so I think she's bitter. But I'm just like,
- 22:29Speaker 2: you don't need to be like that, because I'm sure
- 22:31Speaker 2: there's gonna be somebody who's gonna be into Berry and
- 22:34Speaker 2: all of his weird cookiness. I know that we can't relate.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I know a lot of people can't relate, but there
- 22:39Speaker 2: is somebody for everybody. And you don't got to be critical,
- 22:42Speaker 2: miss thing.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, over for you over there being critical of Barry.
- 22:45Speaker 2: And then you're gonna talk, and then you're gonna have
- 22:47Speaker 2: a conversation while you're baking cookies with your one of
- 22:50Speaker 2: your younger daughters right there talking about having a baby
- 22:54Speaker 2: with this one eyed racist like please.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Who says very directly, you know, if she had child,
- 23:01Speaker 1: that'd be great, but I really hope that she doesn't
- 23:03Speaker 1: because I don't want a child. Yeah, why are you
- 23:06Speaker 1: talking about children? I am an I'm a literal old actually, Yeah, aarp.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I'm probably getting some social security already. Like I'm old,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm old as fuck, I'm a thuselog. Why are we
- 23:20Speaker 1: talking about siring a child? But like Kim, I think
- 23:24Speaker 1: is actually attached to this idea of this her being
- 23:28Speaker 1: like a fertile queen, being like a mom in her femininity. Yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I canna give you babies, honey. He's like, I don't
- 23:37Speaker 1: want babies with you. I just want you to subsidize
- 23:39Speaker 1: my entire life. I want to live on your farm.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I want to eat the food that you buy. I
- 23:43Speaker 1: want you to take care of me. I don't want
- 23:44Speaker 1: to take care of a child.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Fuck. No. Well, and he does make a comment too
- 23:48Speaker 2: that he thinks that Kim thinks that having a baby
- 23:51Speaker 2: with him would bring them closer, but it actually wouldn't.
- 23:54Speaker 1: That was interesting.
- 23:55Speaker 2: That was an interesting comment from him. I'm like, oh,
- 23:57Speaker 2: so you guys aren't close, And I'm I'm sure we'll
- 24:00Speaker 2: find out why in the later season.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Well, it's because, as we saw in the preview, he's
- 24:07Speaker 1: not approving of her body. Yeah, which is all I'm
- 24:11Speaker 1: gonna say.
- 24:12Speaker 2: That's all we'll say.
- 24:12Speaker 1: This is all I'm gonna say about that.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And I will say for Kim, I could understand like
- 24:17Speaker 2: why she's attached to this whole like baby making thing
- 24:20Speaker 2: because that was her whole life, right, Like she had
- 24:22Speaker 2: ten children over the course of thirty years or whatever,
- 24:25Speaker 2: like that was literally all she had and like her
- 24:29Speaker 2: whole purpose. I don't want to say that that was
- 24:30Speaker 2: her purpose as a woman, but like in this arrangement
- 24:33Speaker 2: that she had with Barry, like she was the homemaker,
- 24:35Speaker 2: she was the mom's like I guess I could see it.
- 24:37Speaker 2: But also like read the room, you're old, you don't
- 24:42Speaker 2: need to be having a baby. It's fine, you can
- 24:44Speaker 2: live your life with your juicer and you're one eyed racist.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But it's also uncomfy to hear the conversation when you're
- 24:51Speaker 1: a Cassie and you're just trying to make chocolate chip cookies.
- 24:54Speaker 2: No, that's the thing.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Can we just make cookies?
- 24:56Speaker 2: Mom, Like, we don't need to talk about your sex life. Mom. Yeah,
- 24:58Speaker 2: I don't want to hear about it.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yes it is gross, Yes it is gross. It is gross.
- 25:04Speaker 2: And so after that stupid segment, then we go go
- 25:06Speaker 2: over to Isaac and Ethan. Isaac is waiting for Ethan
- 25:11Speaker 2: to have lunch, and Ethan is forty fucking minutes late.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Somebody needs to punch that guy.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I was like so mad. I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 25:20Speaker 1: Dude?
- 25:21Speaker 2: And Ethan watts on over and there he's like, oh, sorry,
- 25:24Speaker 2: I'm late or whatever. I had a phone call with
- 25:26Speaker 2: my attorney, Like dude. M Isaac even said like, I'm
- 25:30Speaker 2: pissed off at you, dude, like I've been waiting here
- 25:32Speaker 2: like all this time.
- 25:33Speaker 1: You kind of told me late people. Well, it is
- 25:37Speaker 1: so disrespectful. It feels like you don't think my time
- 25:41Speaker 1: is as valuable as your time. It also feels like
- 25:45Speaker 1: you need to be the main character sweeping into the
- 25:48Speaker 1: room that everybody looks up and season. It is very
- 25:51Speaker 1: conceited and also rude.
- 25:53Speaker 2: It's so rude.
- 25:54Speaker 1: If you're somebody who's late in my life, I am
- 25:56Speaker 1: facing you the fuck out. I'm too old to be
- 25:58Speaker 1: waiting around in a diner for your dumb ass.
- 26:01Speaker 2: No for real. It's like so inconsiderate and like the
- 26:03Speaker 2: fact that he couldn't even like message Isaac and be
- 26:06Speaker 2: like sorry, I'm gonna be late, Like no, he just
- 26:08Speaker 2: waltz in and he expects Isaac to be understanding of
- 26:11Speaker 2: the fact that he was on a forty minute phone call,
- 26:14Speaker 2: I guess with his lawyer to talk about his divorce
- 26:17Speaker 2: with Olivia.
- 26:17Speaker 1: And I want that for you. I want you to
- 26:19Speaker 1: have the conversations about the divorce. But like you knew,
- 26:23Speaker 1: you were supposed to not just show up for Isaac.
- 26:25Speaker 1: You're showing up to film something. This is your literal job. Yeah,
- 26:28Speaker 1: you're supposed to be there to do your job, but
- 26:30Speaker 1: you feel like you're in power to just mosey on
- 26:32Speaker 1: in forty five minutes late, Honey, I would have been
- 26:35Speaker 1: reading him the Riot Act.
- 26:37Speaker 2: That is so rude. But once he finally arrives and
- 26:40Speaker 2: they get their food, then we have a discussion about
- 26:43Speaker 2: Ethan and Teagan. And Isaac is coming from a protective
- 26:47Speaker 2: brother standpoint, like he's worried about Ethan. He doesn't want
- 26:50Speaker 2: to see Ethan get hurt again. And I think the
- 26:53Speaker 2: writing is on the wall for literally everybody, like Teagan
- 26:56Speaker 2: is going to break Ethan's heart again. He is hopelessly,
- 27:01Speaker 2: so hopelessly in love with Teagan and thinks that by
- 27:05Speaker 2: making this big move he's gonna win her back.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I don't he says, a chance.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, there really isn't a chance. It doesn't see
- 27:13Speaker 2: does seem like it at all, and everyone is sensing it,
- 27:17Speaker 2: and I think they're all worried for Ethan, but you know,
- 27:20Speaker 2: Isaac is being supportive and he's just like, well, you know,
- 27:22Speaker 2: like I love you or whatever. And then they talk
- 27:25Speaker 2: about the Montana trip that we'll see at the end
- 27:28Speaker 2: of the episode and probably into next week that I
- 27:31Speaker 2: guess Teagan is going to go to Montana with the
- 27:35Speaker 2: rest of the family. Why I don't understand. And then
- 27:39Speaker 2: we go back to the Plath family farm where we
- 27:42Speaker 2: have Lydia and Zach and like this little segment, I
- 27:44Speaker 2: guess they've been staying with Kim during the Thanksgiving celebrations
- 27:50Speaker 2: or whatever. They talk about how Kim is a good host,
- 27:55Speaker 2: but that their relationship with her and every interaction that
- 27:58Speaker 2: they have with her is very sur level because I
- 28:01Speaker 2: guess she talks shit behind their backs.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Well, he comes out and says that it's Zach, it's
- 28:05Speaker 1: not Lydia, Like I just feel like if I heard
- 28:08Speaker 1: that from Lydia, that it was an actual concern of
- 28:12Speaker 1: hers that while she's there, her mother's going to be
- 28:14Speaker 1: gossiping about her, Like I would respect that and I'd
- 28:17Speaker 1: be concerned for her, but like hearing it from Zach,
- 28:21Speaker 1: it's just not his place to talk about his wife's
- 28:24Speaker 1: mother yet. Like maybe in ten years, right, fifteen years,
- 28:27Speaker 1: you've seen some shit or whatever about Kim Plath, then
- 28:30Speaker 1: you can speak on it. But you've literally only been
- 28:32Speaker 1: in this family for six months and you're talking about
- 28:36Speaker 1: her mom. Yeah, camera on camera, that's the thing which
- 28:39Speaker 1: she's going to see.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I was just like the audacity of that kid.
- 28:43Speaker 2: The audacity of it all. And like, so you're going
- 28:45Speaker 2: to talk about how Kim talks behind everybody's backs, and
- 28:49Speaker 2: then in the next breath, you're going to talk about
- 28:51Speaker 2: Ethan behind his back and about how he is making
- 28:56Speaker 2: decisions when he's in a bad place and you guys
- 28:58Speaker 2: are worried about him and you're worried about his future
- 29:01Speaker 2: and you feel the need to talk to him. But
- 29:03Speaker 2: we're gonna have Zach talk to him, because you know,
- 29:06Speaker 2: bro to bro, We're going to talk to him, Like, no, dude,
- 29:10Speaker 2: I have no doubt that Lydia and Zach are also
- 29:12Speaker 2: talking about the rest of the family behind their backs,
- 29:15Speaker 2: of course.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So I'm just like, and that's fine within the confines
- 29:18Speaker 1: of the marriage, but Yeah, you're going to actually approach
- 29:21Speaker 1: Ethan and you're going to try and have a conversation
- 29:24Speaker 1: with him.
- 29:25Speaker 2: He's going to try and counsel him on his decisions.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Well, I just have questions, is what he says, Like,
- 29:30Speaker 1: I just want to know, like why you think that
- 29:32Speaker 1: this is the right thing for you to do. And
- 29:34Speaker 1: I just want to know, Beatrice and Delia just want
- 29:37Speaker 1: to know, like why you give a shit No for real,
- 29:39Speaker 1: pay attention to your wife and her pussy and stuff,
- 29:41Speaker 1: Get a fucking job and take care of your own life.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Be a good steward of your own life before you
- 29:46Speaker 1: come checking for Ethan. And I'm not an Ethan fan, no,
- 29:49Speaker 1: and obviously Ethan is crazy, Yeah, but like I don't
- 29:52Speaker 1: need you, Zach with your little doll mouth, you little
- 29:54Speaker 1: fucking fish mouth, coming in to ask Ethan about his
- 29:58Speaker 1: love life. It's weird. It's weirdo behavior.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It's really odd to me. And so then we transition
- 30:04Speaker 2: to the next segment where Ethan is fixing up one
- 30:07Speaker 2: of his old man cars because I guess he's gonna
- 30:09Speaker 2: go back up to Wisconsin.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It's the New Yorker, it's the same New Yorker, and.
- 30:13Speaker 2: So he's gonna fix it up, change the oil or whatever,
- 30:15Speaker 2: and Zach is allegedly going to help out with the
- 30:18Speaker 2: car stuff, okay, and Zach frames it as I'm gonna
- 30:22Speaker 2: help him out fix the car, and then he goes
- 30:24Speaker 2: and shows up there in a white shirt, a white
- 30:26Speaker 2: sweatshirt and with his little doll hands, and he like
- 30:29Speaker 2: doesn't know anything about cars, and then he admits to
- 30:32Speaker 2: that on camera and he's like, I actually don't know
- 30:34Speaker 2: how to be a man. I don't know how to
- 30:36Speaker 2: do it.
- 30:36Speaker 1: You don't say what a shock.
- 30:39Speaker 2: And then Ethan is just like, Okay, I guess we
- 30:42Speaker 2: will do this on camera and I'll fix my cars.
- 30:45Speaker 2: And I think Ethan is thinking, like, I'll film this
- 30:48Speaker 2: scene with this weirdo, and as long as I can
- 30:51Speaker 2: fix my cars and not really have to interact with anybody,
- 30:55Speaker 2: I'll be fine and I'll tolerate it. Mm hmmm. And
- 30:58Speaker 2: Ethan even says to the camera, I'm actually very irritated.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I'm super mad, I'm frustrated, but I'm trying not to
- 31:05Speaker 2: let it come to the surface. I'm trying to just
- 31:07Speaker 2: be cordial and nice and answer all of his dumb
- 31:10Speaker 2: fucking questions. But Zach comes in hot, like he's like
- 31:14Speaker 2: asking him about the relationship with Teagan again, asking him
- 31:17Speaker 2: about how he spent all of this money on Teagan
- 31:20Speaker 2: and you didn't get anything in return, So are you
- 31:22Speaker 2: worried about that when you go to Wisconsin? Like the
- 31:25Speaker 2: audacity of you.
- 31:27Speaker 1: And with like such an inability to read social cues
- 31:31Speaker 1: or feedback from somebody, like you can't tell when Ethan's
- 31:36Speaker 1: entire face is tomato red and you know his muscles
- 31:40Speaker 1: are bulging because he wants to hit you so bad
- 31:42Speaker 1: because you're overstepping, Like you can't read that in the room.
- 31:46Speaker 1: It's kind of speaking to how sheltered Zach actually is.
- 31:51Speaker 1: First of all, that you would ask these kind of
- 31:52Speaker 1: questions in a social context of somebody that you really
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't know. And Ethan says that a couple of time times,
- 31:57Speaker 1: like I don't even talk about this shit with my brother.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:00Speaker 1: He speaks to how little you know about life that
- 32:02Speaker 1: you would think that that was okay to ask the
- 32:04Speaker 1: questions and then to expect some kind of an answer,
- 32:07Speaker 1: Like you aren't owed an answer, dude, not at all.
- 32:10Speaker 2: It felt very entitled to me, like he felt entitled
- 32:13Speaker 2: to not only ask these questions of Ethan, but he
- 32:16Speaker 2: felt entitled for Ethan to answer them honestly and to
- 32:20Speaker 2: give him these detailed answers about his life. It's like,
- 32:24Speaker 2: these are very personal questions that you're asking about not
- 32:27Speaker 2: only his life, but his relationship that has ended and
- 32:31Speaker 2: ended in a pretty terrible way. Ethan is obviously depressed
- 32:34Speaker 2: about it. Maybe you shouldn't ask him about it.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Chill out a little bit, maybe like say, hey, you
- 32:40Speaker 1: want to go get a beer. Yeah, let's talk about cars,
- 32:42Speaker 1: teach me about cars. Yeah, let's watch a game or whatever. Right,
- 32:45Speaker 1: meet him on the playing field of his life, spend
- 32:48Speaker 1: time with him. Don't try to like immediately go right
- 32:50Speaker 1: for the jugular and figure out, like what are you doing, dude? Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 1: why are you so in love with this girl? Why
- 32:55Speaker 1: are you giving her all your money? And do it
- 32:56Speaker 1: on camera? No, Yeah, Ethan is so uncomfy.
- 32:59Speaker 2: He's so uncomfy. And I just felt like it was
- 33:02Speaker 2: super weird, this whole interaction. I felt very tense like
- 33:06Speaker 2: watching it because it just felt like Ethan was put
- 33:10Speaker 2: in a hard spot and like, obviously we know from
- 33:13Speaker 2: last season, Ethan made a complete ass out of himself
- 33:16Speaker 2: at the night before Zach and Lydia's wedding where he
- 33:21Speaker 2: was asking Zach questions about being gay.
- 33:23Speaker 1: And then the day of the wedding when he's doing
- 33:25Speaker 1: furious push ups exactly and throwing tables around like he
- 33:28Speaker 1: was very frustrated.
- 33:29Speaker 2: So he's taking an ass out of himself. And I
- 33:31Speaker 2: think that Ethan is self aware enough to know that
- 33:35Speaker 2: that was bad last year, that he was a jerk,
- 33:38Speaker 2: and so now he's like really trying to be calm enough.
- 33:42Speaker 2: I mean, it's Ethan. He's tomato red, so he's obviously
- 33:44Speaker 2: fuming underneath everything, but like he's trying to be calm
- 33:47Speaker 2: and not tell him to fuck off.
- 33:49Speaker 1: He was actually pretty gracious, he was he was like
- 33:52Speaker 1: laughing a little bit. He was being for Ethan somewhat
- 33:56Speaker 1: kind and accommodating. But still you could be Stevie Wonder
- 34:01Speaker 1: and see that Ethan was not happy with this conversation.
- 34:05Speaker 1: That's not how you connect with somebody and former relationship.
- 34:09Speaker 1: But Zach doesn't know that because either Zach is being
- 34:12Speaker 1: put up to this by production so he feels like
- 34:15Speaker 1: he has to do it because it's his job, or
- 34:17Speaker 1: Zach just hasn't had enough life experience to realize when
- 34:20Speaker 1: like you are definitely doing too much and people aren't
- 34:24Speaker 1: happy with you.
- 34:25Speaker 2: My vibe with it was that Zach felt like he
- 34:29Speaker 2: was entitled to ask these questions. I think Zach from
- 34:32Speaker 2: his perspective, is like, well, I'm married Lydia now, so
- 34:35Speaker 2: now I'm part of the family, so therefore I am
- 34:38Speaker 2: entitled to call you guys out on your bullshit. I'm
- 34:40Speaker 2: going to tell you when you're not godly enough because
- 34:42Speaker 2: I'm a very godly man and I'm straight, and I'm
- 34:45Speaker 2: married to a woman who's also very godly, and I'm
- 34:48Speaker 2: going to ask you personal questions about your life because
- 34:50Speaker 2: you know I'm concerned and you know I'm coming from
- 34:53Speaker 2: a godly perspective.
- 34:54Speaker 1: That's what Jesus would do exactly, ask about your relationship,
- 34:58Speaker 1: ordicating relationship with your a friends.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yes, and that's I just I didn't appreciate it at all.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I will say it was refreshing to hear Ethan kind
- 35:08Speaker 2: of talk about his relationship with Teagan in the sense
- 35:10Speaker 2: of like things go both ways, like because Zach had
- 35:14Speaker 2: said a comment about how Ethan was giving so much
- 35:17Speaker 2: to Teagan and not getting a lot back in return,
- 35:20Speaker 2: and this upset Ethan because he's like, you know, I'm
- 35:24Speaker 2: a man, I'm gonna give her whatever she needs. I'm
- 35:26Speaker 2: gonna provide things for her. I'm gonna pay for things
- 35:28Speaker 2: for her and her daughter because I want to, because
- 35:31Speaker 2: I'm in a relationship with her. I'm not doing it
- 35:34Speaker 2: because I feel like she wants me to. So relationships
- 35:38Speaker 2: go both ways. So I did appreciate that he was
- 35:41Speaker 2: kind of defending that aspect, and I also appreciated that
- 35:44Speaker 2: he kind of sort of took a little bit of
- 35:47Speaker 2: ownership for the fact that, like he was telling Teagan
- 35:50Speaker 2: a million times he's gonna move up there and then
- 35:52Speaker 2: never did anything about it, and so this kind of
- 35:54Speaker 2: contributed to the demise of his relationship.
- 35:57Speaker 1: You know, I think that again, the impulse that Zach
- 36:01Speaker 1: is demonstrating, like, hey man, I'm concerned about you. You
- 36:04Speaker 1: seem to be giving this girl a lot of money.
- 36:06Speaker 1: You seem to be like doing a lot for this
- 36:07Speaker 1: girl or whatever. Like I I think that's a good impulse.
- 36:10Speaker 1: It just should have been coming from Lydia. Yeah, because
- 36:14Speaker 1: last season we had Ethan confronting Lydia and asking her
- 36:17Speaker 1: like isn't this pretty soon? Like are you sure you
- 36:20Speaker 1: want to be doing this, so that's appropriate for their relationship.
- 36:25Speaker 1: It is completely inappropriate for the relationship that Ethan has
- 36:29Speaker 1: with Zach. But yeah, I.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Think you're right about that. Like, I think this would
- 36:34Speaker 2: have been more of an appropriate conversation to have with
- 36:36Speaker 2: Ethan and one of his siblings, yeah, or even Ethan
- 36:39Speaker 2: and one of his parents. But to have it come
- 36:41Speaker 2: from a new spouse, like a spouse that hasn't even
- 36:44Speaker 2: been established in the family for many.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Years, your entire aura is judgmental.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Totally judgmental. Like, it's so inappropriate for him to even
- 36:53Speaker 2: try and talk to Ethan about all of this, Like,
- 36:55Speaker 2: I don't understand why he thinks this was okay in
- 36:58Speaker 2: any regard either. It's bizarre.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but I am very excited to see the journey.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I'm wondering if at some point we have Ethan saying,
- 37:05Speaker 1: shut the fuck up, dude. I hope, so the fuck
- 37:07Speaker 1: do you think you are?
- 37:08Speaker 2: I hope so, because that's what he deserves, because I
- 37:10Speaker 2: was wanted to say that during this episode. I'm like Zach,
- 37:12Speaker 2: and don't get.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Me wrong, like somebody needs to call Ethan out. For sure,
- 37:16Speaker 1: that has to happen. But I don't think this is
- 37:18Speaker 1: the messenger.
- 37:19Speaker 3: To do that.
- 37:20Speaker 2: No, no way at all. And then the last segment
- 37:23Speaker 2: that we have of the episode is Ethan and Teagan
- 37:27Speaker 2: arriving in Montana. So a bunch of the siblings. I
- 37:31Speaker 2: don't think him and Barrier there, it's just the older siblings,
- 37:34Speaker 2: nor Lydia and Zach. Yeah, Lydia and Zach are not
- 37:37Speaker 2: going to be there. A bunch of the older siblings
- 37:39Speaker 2: are taking a trip to Montana, mainly to visit Mariah,
- 37:42Speaker 2: but also to like just spend time together. And Teagan
- 37:45Speaker 2: was invited. She up until this point wasn't sure if
- 37:50Speaker 2: she was going to come, because you know, Teagan and
- 37:52Speaker 2: Ethan are broken up and she hates him, she's disgusted
- 37:55Speaker 2: by him. But she decided to come, and we see
- 37:59Speaker 2: them in Montana. They're at the lodge. They have had
- 38:02Speaker 2: a hellish day of travel, a bunch of missed flights,
- 38:06Speaker 2: delays and whatever, and then an hour drive to the lodge.
- 38:10Speaker 2: So Teagan's already in a bad mood. Ethan looks kind
- 38:13Speaker 2: of like in a bad mood. He looks kind of.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Sad, although he's like, actually, I really appreciated being able
- 38:19Speaker 1: to drive from the airport to the lodge, we had
- 38:23Speaker 1: an hour in the car, Like it was like old times,
- 38:26Speaker 1: there was distance, but you know, it was nice to
- 38:29Speaker 1: be around her.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Yeah, And he says that multiple times in the episode,
- 38:33Speaker 2: like he's like, it was great that I got to
- 38:34Speaker 2: spend so much time traveling with you and spend so
- 38:37Speaker 2: much time with you in general. And Tigan's like why,
- 38:42Speaker 2: Like you.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Just look at her face. She's obviously got the ick. Yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 1: Like she is not feeling Ethan that she's either got
- 38:48Speaker 1: the ick or again she's punishing him, like she really
- 38:53Speaker 1: wants to make him pay. And when we get to
- 38:55Speaker 1: the previews, we see sort of a snapshot of why
- 38:57Speaker 1: that might be, like what he did to cause this,
- 39:00Speaker 1: but like she is just not happy. No, she's not
- 39:03Speaker 1: enamored of Ethan. She does not care that he wants
- 39:07Speaker 1: to be in a relationship with her or share her room. Yeah,
- 39:10Speaker 1: because she insisted upon a separate hotel room.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Yeah. So when they get to the lodge, it had
- 39:16Speaker 2: been set up in a way where Ethan and Tiagan
- 39:19Speaker 2: we're gonna be sharing a room. So they have all
- 39:21Speaker 2: these couplely things. They have little matching robes and slippers
- 39:24Speaker 2: and couples gifts and stuff like that and little notes,
- 39:27Speaker 2: and Ethan is dropping her stuff off in this room
- 39:30Speaker 2: because he's gonna go sleep in a separate room, and
- 39:33Speaker 2: Teagan is very frank to say to the camera like, yeah,
- 39:35Speaker 2: we're not gonna be sharing a room because we're not
- 39:38Speaker 2: a couple. We are just friends. And you can see
- 39:43Speaker 2: how sad this makes Ethan. And Ethan even says like
- 39:46Speaker 2: it's emotional bringing her stuff into this room that we
- 39:49Speaker 2: were going to share, because you know, I wish that
- 39:53Speaker 2: things were different. And Ethan was very careful to say, like,
- 39:55Speaker 2: it's okay that we're not sharing rooms, but obviously I
- 39:58Speaker 2: wish it was different, because you know, I love her
- 40:01Speaker 2: and whatever, and I want to bang her, but circumstances
- 40:05Speaker 2: are not like that right now. And then we have
- 40:09Speaker 2: this like little interview with Ethan and Teagan where production
- 40:13Speaker 2: is asking them, like, you know, are you guys just friends?
- 40:17Speaker 2: Is there a chance for romance in the future, And
- 40:20Speaker 2: Teagan seems like surprised by this, and it's just like, well, like, yeah,
- 40:24Speaker 2: we're friends right now, but like I don't know what
- 40:26Speaker 2: the future holds. What do you think, Ethan?
- 40:28Speaker 1: Well, and here was where I was trying to determine
- 40:32Speaker 1: whether she was just being punitive because he's just staring
- 40:35Speaker 1: at her. Yeah, Like he doesn't want to answer the
- 40:37Speaker 1: producer and tell the producer what he wants, what he
- 40:40Speaker 1: is hopeful for, but he's just looking at her with
- 40:44Speaker 1: all the yearning and the angst of a top tier
- 40:47Speaker 1: romance not and she sees him. Yeah, like you can't
- 40:51Speaker 1: be a woman and not understand what that look means. Yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: that man wants you, top of your head, down of
- 40:57Speaker 1: the tippy toes. That man wants you. You know that
- 41:00Speaker 1: he wants you, and you're still gonna play the game
- 41:02Speaker 1: that you're like what, we're just friends, right, Yeah, what's
- 41:04Speaker 1: the problem? What are you sad about?
- 41:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:06Speaker 1: She knows what he's sad about well, and.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Then she's quick to say too, like, I know that
- 41:11Speaker 2: he's sad, but I don't care.
- 41:13Speaker 1: But in the moment he actually confesses his loved people, like,
- 41:17Speaker 1: what are you so sad about? And he says something
- 41:19Speaker 1: like and I'm paraphrasing because I can't be arsed to remember,
- 41:21Speaker 1: but like I just really want to be with you
- 41:24Speaker 1: and I love you, and I'm here because I really
- 41:27Speaker 1: hope that we can rekindle our shit and she's just like, yeah,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I don't know about that.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Uh, I don't give a fuck. I don't care at all.
- 41:34Speaker 1: And then to the camera she's like, yeah, I know
- 41:36Speaker 1: he's sad, but like whatever, yikes, So are you playing games? Teagan?
- 41:41Speaker 1: Do you really not care? Because if you didn't care,
- 41:44Speaker 1: why are you here?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:46Speaker 1: Because I wouldn't show up to some family trip to Montana.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Maybe she's getting paid. Maybe it's for the fame, maybe
- 41:50Speaker 1: it's for the clout. But like if it's not that, like,
- 41:52Speaker 1: why are we here though? Other than to make that
- 41:55Speaker 1: man grovel? I do love a groveling man. I gotta
- 41:59Speaker 1: say I love a I'm in my day hondy. I've
- 42:01Speaker 1: had some groveling man order. And I don't want to
- 42:05Speaker 1: make men feel bad. Well, sometimes they have to. They've
- 42:09Speaker 1: been bad boys for Yeah, you've been a bad boy.
- 42:13Speaker 2: God, I can't with you.
- 42:14Speaker 1: You better gravel hood, dude.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Look, And in certain circumstances I could totally see it,
- 42:19Speaker 2: like if Ethan was a cheater, for example, like yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 2: you should fucking gravel you bitch, you fucking cheating ass
- 42:25Speaker 2: ho sure beg for me to come back. Okay, I
- 42:29Speaker 2: get it, But like I don't know what the context
- 42:31Speaker 2: of their breakup was, Like, I don't know what happened really,
- 42:34Speaker 2: And like, obviously you can tell Ethan is earnest and
- 42:38Speaker 2: I know he's a shithead, and I know he's an asshole,
- 42:40Speaker 2: and I know we don't like him, but you can
- 42:42Speaker 2: tell he is totally smitten for her. He wants her back,
- 42:46Speaker 2: he is moving back to Wisconsin for her, He's doing
- 42:49Speaker 2: all this stuff for her. So for her to be
- 42:51Speaker 2: so dismissive of it and for her to be so mean,
- 42:55Speaker 2: like and just be like, what, we're friends, right, are
- 42:58Speaker 2: you okay with that? Like Ethan obviously not okay with that.
- 43:01Speaker 1: There's something that's very delicious about that, and we kind
- 43:05Speaker 1: of love a moment where the woman has the power dynamic. Sure,
- 43:08Speaker 1: but there's also something that's that's sad about it. But
- 43:11Speaker 1: I do want to ask a question of you and
- 43:13Speaker 1: everybody else, certainly drop in the comments if you're watching
- 43:15Speaker 1: on YouTube, Like, say, she takes him back, okay, and
- 43:19Speaker 1: she makes a decision that she's going to enter into
- 43:21Speaker 1: a relationship with Ethan once he moves to Wisconsin. Do
- 43:25Speaker 1: we think Ethan can maintain this level of attentiveness and
- 43:31Speaker 1: desiring her and being present in their relationship. Or do
- 43:34Speaker 1: we think that the moment Ethan is back in her life,
- 43:38Speaker 1: has weaseled his way back into life. Do we think
- 43:40Speaker 1: that he's just going to regress into the crow magnan
- 43:43Speaker 1: man who's stuck underneath a hood and who can't communicate
- 43:47Speaker 1: and will be unable to give her what she wants?
- 43:50Speaker 1: What do we think?
- 43:51Speaker 2: It's hard for me because I think that everybody has
- 43:53Speaker 2: the capacity to change, Like everybody has the capacity to grow. Yeah,
- 43:57Speaker 2: and he is so young, and he does have a
- 43:58Speaker 2: lot of growing up to do, and like he could
- 44:01Speaker 2: mature into a really respectful man. Sure he could, there's
- 44:05Speaker 2: a potential for that. But with Ethan Plath, it's hard
- 44:09Speaker 2: because he hasn't really had a good track record, and
- 44:12Speaker 2: he hasn't had a good track record in relationships with
- 44:15Speaker 2: women who have been kind to him obviously, like with Olivia,
- 44:19Speaker 2: like their relationship was messy and everything, but like he
- 44:23Speaker 2: had his part to play in that too, Like he
- 44:25Speaker 2: had a part to play in the destruction of the marriage,
- 44:27Speaker 2: and he is aware of that, at least he has
- 44:30Speaker 2: said that on the show. But with Tiegan, I feel
- 44:33Speaker 2: like it's one of those situations where it's like too little,
- 44:36Speaker 2: too late. He probably pushed it too far. He could
- 44:40Speaker 2: have moved with her a couple months ago before the
- 44:45Speaker 2: breakup and they would have been able to salvage their relationship.
- 44:49Speaker 2: But he pushed it and pushed it and pushed it
- 44:51Speaker 2: because he's fucking stubborn.
- 44:53Speaker 1: And he's selfish, and he's selfish, and he's not interested
- 44:56Speaker 1: in his personal development and growth. Like we don't see
- 45:00Speaker 1: Ethan Plath and therapy. No, I can't even imagine that
- 45:03Speaker 1: he would ever go to therapy, but like that is
- 45:04Speaker 1: what he needs in order to learn how to express yourself. Yeah, that,
- 45:08Speaker 1: and to learn how to show up in relationships in
- 45:11Speaker 1: a productive way.
- 45:12Speaker 2: And I can again have sympathy for it because he
- 45:15Speaker 2: doesn't really have a healthy model of what a healthy
- 45:17Speaker 2: relationship looks like. His parent's obviously fucking divorced after thirty years,
- 45:21Speaker 2: and so you know, he doesn't have a framework, He
- 45:24Speaker 2: doesn't have a foundation really to lay himself on and
- 45:28Speaker 2: to build his life on. So he is kind of
- 45:32Speaker 2: like in open water right now, and he doesn't really
- 45:35Speaker 2: know how to be a human being, let alone a
- 45:37Speaker 2: human being, and.
- 45:38Speaker 1: He's trying, and I do like your word earnest ye,
- 45:41Speaker 1: Like I think he's earnestly trying and so for like
- 45:45Speaker 1: a guy like that, if you have a little bit
- 45:48Speaker 1: of hope to be in a relationship with him, like
- 45:50Speaker 1: you should just give him a little bit of a bone.
- 45:52Speaker 2: And I do think that there is something to the
- 45:55Speaker 2: idea that a woman can change a man. I'm not
- 45:56Speaker 2: saying that women should, but I'm just saying, like a woman, oh, yes,
- 46:00Speaker 2: can you know, change a man to be a better man?
- 46:04Speaker 1: Yes?
- 46:05Speaker 2: Yes, through yes love and through the punani. I think
- 46:08Speaker 2: like there's a potential for that too, Like Teagan could
- 46:11Speaker 2: be that for Ethan and change him into a better
- 46:15Speaker 2: man because he would want to be a better man
- 46:17Speaker 2: for her. And I think that he is trying to
- 46:18Speaker 2: demonstrate that, like trying to be like, look, I'm trying
- 46:21Speaker 2: to change my life a little bit. I'm going to
- 46:23Speaker 2: move for you. I'm gonna meet you where you're at,
- 46:26Speaker 2: and I'm okay with being friends right now. Obviously I
- 46:28Speaker 2: hope that there will be more, but I don't think
- 46:30Speaker 2: Teagan wants that. I feel like she's been fucking other people.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I do too, actually do too. I think that she
- 46:35Speaker 1: may want that, though, what what do you mean a
- 46:37Speaker 1: relationship with him. I think that she's I think she's
- 46:40Speaker 1: probably putting him through the ringer so that she can
- 46:44Speaker 1: pay him back for something that he did to her.
- 46:47Speaker 1: And then we get to the preview, yes, and we
- 46:49Speaker 1: learn about something that Ethan did to her which kind
- 46:52Speaker 1: of just shut her down completely.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd like to get more context into that, but
- 46:57Speaker 2: we have the preview. We have very talk about Bigfoot audio.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I don't care. I do not care.
- 47:04Speaker 2: He talking about it with like one of his daughter's
- 47:06Speaker 2: friends or something. It looks like, what are we doing? Dad?
- 47:09Speaker 2: Please stop? There's audio of Bigfoot and other dimensions in
- 47:13Speaker 2: a different way.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I've actually heard that.
- 47:15Speaker 2: I know.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I know he's talking about the Sierra Sounds. I know
- 47:18Speaker 1: exactly what he's talking about.
- 47:20Speaker 2: You would be Berry's dream girl.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Which I really would, I really would.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Oh my god. And then we have Teagan in Montana.
- 47:28Speaker 2: She's being very obviously distant from Ethan. It's actually uncomfortable
- 47:33Speaker 2: how distant she is being. We have other siblings.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Can you hear that he's trying to get up? He's fat,
- 47:46Speaker 1: He's so fat.
- 47:46Speaker 2: He's an English mast if. He's very sweet though. Anyway,
- 47:49Speaker 2: So we have Tagan being distant from Ethan in Montana.
- 47:52Speaker 2: We have other siblings commenting on this, how uncomfortable it is.
- 47:56Speaker 2: It's very weird. Kaylin in particular, which I love her too,
- 48:01Speaker 2: she call out she's so based. She's like, you know,
- 48:04Speaker 2: why are you even on this trip if you're not
- 48:06Speaker 2: going to make any kind of effort to be in
- 48:08Speaker 2: a relationship with Ethan Because obvious, it's obvious to everybody
- 48:12Speaker 2: that Ethan is doing this to try and get back
- 48:14Speaker 2: together with you. Why are you here if that is
- 48:17Speaker 2: not your interest. And then we have Teagan saying to
- 48:21Speaker 2: the camera that the straw that broke the camel's back
- 48:24Speaker 2: with her relationship with Ethan was that she came to
- 48:28Speaker 2: visit him for his birthday or celebrate his birthday, and
- 48:31Speaker 2: he was acting super weird. And then we hear from
- 48:34Speaker 2: Ethan saying that when he was looking at Teagan, all
- 48:37Speaker 2: he could see was Olivia.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yikes, So something happened. Teagan came down for his birthday.
- 48:45Speaker 1: He's a Taurus like me, and he ignored her. He
- 48:49Speaker 1: was not nice to her. He was Ethan being Ethan.
- 48:53Speaker 1: And then from his perspective, he kept looking at her
- 48:55Speaker 1: and she was reminding him of Olivia. Just hold on
- 48:58Speaker 1: for one second.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Gosh, my gosh, boom.
- 49:01Speaker 1: So that is gotta hurt. I wonder if you said
- 49:04Speaker 1: that to her in the moment.
- 49:06Speaker 2: He probably did, and he was triggered. And you know
- 49:09Speaker 2: something I've learned through being in therapy, Ethan, go to
- 49:11Speaker 2: fucking therapy therapy, God, is like a lot of the
- 49:14Speaker 2: time people can't identify what their triggers actually are. They
- 49:19Speaker 2: just feel it and they don't know that they're being triggered.
- 49:22Speaker 2: And so obviously Ethan was triggered by something that Teagan
- 49:25Speaker 2: did or said, and you know, cro magnet uga boga,
- 49:29Speaker 2: he can't communicate it, and so he just reacted from it.
- 49:34Speaker 2: And obviously he reacted in a way that hurt Teagan
- 49:38Speaker 2: to the point of breaking up.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so I.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Would like more details on that.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Hopefully we get them. I would love that, but I'm
- 49:44Speaker 1: not gonna hold out hope. I know we're not gonna
- 49:47Speaker 1: get kind of a let down of a season, this
- 49:49Speaker 1: episode was a little bit better. It was better than
- 49:53Speaker 1: I liked seeing Teakan. Yeah, she obviously has a bit
- 49:56Speaker 1: of a grudge and I want to learn about it
- 49:59Speaker 1: me too. We want to know more, and Zach is
- 50:01Speaker 1: very I hate him. Zach is so gross. I really
- 50:06Speaker 1: don't like him, so I want to see more of that.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I want somebody to put him in his place. So
- 50:10Speaker 1: I am invested. I'm into it. Yes, let us know
- 50:12Speaker 1: how you guys feel about this season so far. Now,
- 50:15Speaker 1: be Adrice. Is there anything else that we should say
- 50:18Speaker 1: to these beautiful records before we get it bought out
- 50:21Speaker 1: of here?

- 50:34Speaker 1: We will be back next week to talk. Welcome to Platfill.
- 50:37Speaker 1: We're taking one week off between seasons for Sister Wives
- 50:41Speaker 1: because we just concluded season eight. Yeah, we're gonna go
- 50:43Speaker 1: into season nine, but that's not gonna be next week.
- 50:45Speaker 1: It's gonna be the week following that. I know, it's
- 50:47Speaker 1: a lot, it's a such day, it's a job.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it is our raccoon job. It is our job.
