- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. Last time, we learned
- 0:09about Joseph's dreams and how his brothers became
- 0:12jealous of him. Today, Joseph's journey takes
- 0:16a difficult turn. When he reaches his brothers,
- 0:20their jealousy leads to a shocking decision.
- 0:23But even in the hardest moments, God's plan is
- 0:28always at work. Are you ready for this week's
- 0:31story? Let's begin! Joseph's brothers had gone
- 0:47to graze their father's flocks near Shechem and
- 0:50Jacob asked Joseph to go check on them. Joseph
- 0:55obeyed and set off on the long journey. searching
- 0:58for his brothers in the fields. When he finally
- 1:02found them near Dothan, they saw him coming from
- 1:05a distance. Instead of feeling happy to see him,
- 1:10their jealousy turned to anger. They began talking
- 1:14among themselves, wondering what they should
- 1:17do. Some of them wanted to harm Joseph, saying
- 1:22that if they got rid of him, his dreams would
- 1:25never come true. But Reuben, the oldest brother,
- 1:30spoke up. He told them not to kill Joseph but
- 1:34to throw him into an empty well instead. He planned
- 1:38to come back later and rescue him. The others
- 1:42agreed, and when Joseph arrived, they grabbed
- 1:45him, took off his special robe, and threw him
- 1:49into the deep, dark pit. Joseph was trapped.
- 1:57He had gone from being his father's favorite
- 2:00son to being alone in a pit. While he sat there,
- 2:04his brothers sat down to eat. But then, they
- 2:08saw a group of merchants traveling toward Egypt.
- 2:13One of the brothers, Judah, had an idea. Instead
- 2:18of leaving Joseph in the pit, they could sell
- 2:21him to the traders as a slave. That way, They
- 2:25wouldn't be responsible for his death, but he
- 2:28would still be gone. The brothers agreed, and
- 2:36when the merchants came closer, they pulled Joseph
- 2:39out of the pit and sold him for 20 silver coins.
- 2:44Joseph was taken away, heading toward a life
- 2:48he never expected. When Reuben returned to rescue
- 2:52Joseph, he was devastated to find the pit empty.
- 2:57He asked his brothers what had happened, but
- 3:01it was too late, Joseph was already gone. To
- 3:05cover up what they had done, the brothers took
- 3:08Joseph's robe, dipped it in goat's blood, and
- 3:12brought it back to their father. When Jacob saw
- 3:16the torn and blooded robe, he believed Joseph
- 3:19had been killed by a wild animal. Heartbroken,
- 3:23he mourned for his son for many days. This story
- 3:40might seem sad, but it's important to remember
- 3:43that God was still in control. Even though Joseph's
- 3:47brothers hurt him, God was preparing something
- 3:50greater. Joseph's journey wasn't over. This was
- 3:55just the beginning of a plan that would one day
- 3:58save many lives. Let's take a moment to think.
- 4:03Have you ever been treated unfairly? How do you
- 4:09think Joseph felt when he was taken away? Even
- 4:15when bad things happen, how can we trust that
- 4:18God is still working? Sometimes life brings challenges
- 4:23we don't understand. But just like Joseph, we
- 4:28can trust that God has a plan, even when things
- 4:31seem unfair. Thank you for joining me today.
- 4:36Next time, we'll follow Joseph on his journey
- 4:40in Egypt. What will happen to him in this strange
- 4:44new land? And how will God use him in a powerful
- 4:48way? Don't miss it! Until then, remember, you
- 4:53are wonderfully made and God's love is always
- 4:57with you. Bye for now.
