- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome back to the twenty twenty sixth Patriots on Filtered
- 0:06Speaker 1: Draft Show.
- 0:07Speaker 2: The New England Patriots so I presented by Toyota's official website.
- 0:10Speaker 3: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com.
- 0:14Speaker 4: All right, we're back here at Chillette Stadium with the
- 0:18Speaker 4: Patriots Unfiltered Draft Show. It's our annual Draft show, one
- 0:22Speaker 4: of our more fun shows of the year.
- 0:25Speaker 3: We have a lot of fun.
- 0:26Speaker 4: But we're gonna be here all week end. We're here
- 0:30Speaker 4: until the end of the first round tonight and then
- 0:32Speaker 4: tomorrow from seven to ten at minimum. Yeah, at minimum.
- 0:38Speaker 4: So we'll be covering the second and third rounds tomorrow
- 0:40Speaker 4: night and then on Saturday from two to four.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So yeah, I think we've probably come on on Saturday,
- 0:46Speaker 2: like they might have just made their two fourth rounder.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Yes, can we come out a little later so we
- 0:51Speaker 4: have something to talk about, you know, let mebe get
- 0:54Speaker 4: those those four to six rounders, right, that's exciting.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Wait, that's the time.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I think that's what breaks me with the draft, Like
- 1:01Speaker 2: it's just like by the time it's like in the
- 1:02Speaker 2: seventh round and you're just.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Seeing like guy the guy, like, oh god, all right,
- 1:06Speaker 3: just get it over with it. It seems to drag on
- 1:08Speaker 3: at the end.
- 1:09Speaker 4: So the Cleveland Browns pick is in. It's the ninth
- 1:12Speaker 4: pick of the draft. This is as a result of
- 1:14Speaker 4: the trade with the Chiefs, so they moved from six
- 1:17Speaker 4: back to nine. And here comes Roger Goodell to announce
- 1:22Speaker 4: the pick. He's such he's such a stud.
- 1:29Speaker 5: He's a big workout guy.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Why does he walk so he likes to work?
- 1:35Speaker 5: Oh, we can't hear.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Twenty, The Cleveland brown select Spencer Konam tackle Utah.
- 1:46Speaker 6: So we're starting to see some of the offensive linemen
- 1:49Speaker 6: now fly off the board. The tenth pick by the Giants,
- 1:53Speaker 6: obviously the Giants have the tenth pick from Cincinnati has
- 1:56Speaker 6: already been made, and it's also an offensive lineman.
- 1:58Speaker 5: So who is it?
- 1:59Speaker 6: It is Frank Muagawa from Miami, who is a very
- 2:05Speaker 6: good player. Fano I. It's interesting that fano went ahead
- 2:09Speaker 6: of Mugaua in my opinion. You know, I don't know
- 2:12Speaker 6: where Fo's gonna play. He's one of those guys that
- 2:15Speaker 6: has shorter arms. He's you know, this is a Will
- 2:17Speaker 6: Campbell reducts conversation with him. He measured in with thirty
- 2:21Speaker 6: two and eighth inch arms at the combine. He measured
- 2:24Speaker 6: in longer at his pro day, just like Will Campbell did,
- 2:27Speaker 6: but still under the thirty three inch threshold. He's a
- 2:31Speaker 6: great run blocker, he's athletic, he's got great feet. But
- 2:34Speaker 6: he definitely is someone that some people think might have
- 2:37Speaker 6: to move inside at the next level, maybe even all
- 2:39Speaker 6: the way into center for some So it's gonna be
- 2:41Speaker 6: interesting to see. He's played a little bit left, he's
- 2:43Speaker 6: played a little bit of right. He might be a guard,
- 2:46Speaker 6: you know. He's one of those types of guys that
- 2:48Speaker 6: you don't know exactly where he's gonna be on the
- 2:50Speaker 6: offensive line, but he's everyone thinks he's going to be
- 2:53Speaker 6: a good player somewhere on the line. And I liked
- 2:56Speaker 6: magoa a little bit better. I thought he was a
- 2:59Speaker 6: little bit longer, a little bit wider of a body,
- 3:02Speaker 6: a little bit better power absorption and displacement in his
- 3:05Speaker 6: run blox, a little bit more of like a power
- 3:07Speaker 6: player than what you got with Fo. But both guys
- 3:10Speaker 6: that were projected to go right here and you expect
- 3:13Speaker 6: them to, you know, start to run at tackle here,
- 3:16Speaker 6: which I think is the most interesting part in the conversation.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And here's the Giants pick now with Roger.
- 3:22Speaker 2: With the tenth pick in the twenty twenty six NFL drafts,
- 3:27Speaker 2: the New York Giants select Francis.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Now we know tackle.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Miami, I think saying I think.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Even though there's no way, I'm assuming they're all phonetically
- 3:41Speaker 2: spelled for for the commissioner.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he does a whole thing.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Yeah, they had a thing with him going over tough.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And there's some names every year that you're like.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah, seven in New York's wondering why he can't get
- 3:53Speaker 4: the show on YouTube.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I don't know. We're supposed to be live on YouTube.
- 3:57Speaker 3: People. I've seen people in the YouTube chat.
- 3:59Speaker 5: So yeah, so it's you, not us.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Check your cookies.
- 4:04Speaker 6: The Cowboys are on the clock. They've traded into the
- 4:06Speaker 6: eleventh pick in the draft.
- 4:08Speaker 3: They could just couldn't help them.
- 4:10Speaker 6: I just think it's interesting though, with the tackles real quick,
- 4:13Speaker 6: like so Fenno Maui Noah is how we're saying it.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Yes, uh, both go.
- 4:19Speaker 6: So now you know we're into the freelings, the proctors,
- 4:22Speaker 6: the low moves, the Millers, the echores like these tackles.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Most people expect the tackles to start flying this five
- 4:29Speaker 6: more so you know, I I don't know where the
- 4:32Speaker 6: next one goes. I don't think it's going to be Dallas.
- 4:34Speaker 6: But you know, now we started. If you are one
- 4:37Speaker 6: of those people that really want the Patriots to draft
- 4:39Speaker 6: the tackle tonight, now this is when you start to sweat.
- 4:41Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 4:42Speaker 4: You're hoping after Dallas makes their pick, they show their
- 4:44Speaker 4: war room because nobody celebrates an easy pick like the
- 4:48Speaker 4: Dallas cow.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Oh yeah, they're very good at drafting, so I do
- 4:53Speaker 6: give them that.
- 4:53Speaker 5: They just don't win.
- 4:54Speaker 2: You know my favorite I've been doing the song now
- 4:56Speaker 2: it's like the kid in the suit, like the like
- 4:57Speaker 2: the twelve year old kid is in like the fancy.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You know, he's one of the grand right, and of
- 5:01Speaker 3: course he's already worth more than I am. I'm sure
- 5:04Speaker 3: the kid's going to be making the decisions down the road.
- 5:06Speaker 4: But they traded up on Tim, who lives in Trucky
- 5:10Speaker 4: over just Lake Tahoe, California, but from Active Mass sounds
- 5:15Speaker 4: he has a few points. Evan and Barth did the
- 5:16Speaker 4: Bob's commercial and then did a furniture draft on catch
- 5:19Speaker 4: twenty two.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Is that that is true?
- 5:21Speaker 5: Really? That's clever.
- 5:22Speaker 3: That's not like you guys, that sounds amusing. That's Evan
- 5:27Speaker 3: is not amusing.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Do you think that I was the one that wanted
- 5:30Speaker 6: to do the fairness?
- 5:32Speaker 3: I like that.
- 5:33Speaker 5: That's a good idea.
- 5:34Speaker 3: That's a great idea.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Cold faxt California is on Interstate eighty, about twenty minutes
- 5:39Speaker 4: east of Sacramento.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I've never been up there. That's too far.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Bob's Discount Furniture expanded to the Sacramento area, so there
- 5:47Speaker 4: you go.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Okay, so the Bob's out there.
- 5:49Speaker 4: And lastly, as another x Mass resident, please have Alex
- 5:52Speaker 4: show more hammered fans. Makes me laugh at the old
- 5:55Speaker 4: showerheads from my youth.
- 5:56Speaker 6: What was his furniture draft? Though he didn't mention the furniture,
- 5:59Speaker 6: So what's who went when? So it was a top
- 6:02Speaker 6: three favorite furniture items or recliners. We did a snake draft,
- 6:07Speaker 6: so you got to go back to back picks, which
- 6:09Speaker 6: was hard because I.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Know it was a three round snake drift.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Yeah, and so Alex like went first and he took uh,
- 6:17Speaker 6: like a recliner, like you know, a big lazy boy,
- 6:20Speaker 6: and then and then I took couch and then he
- 6:23Speaker 6: was like, well, you got.
- 6:24Speaker 3: To go again, and I was like, I don't prepared.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I'm not prepared to couch second overall, So let's go sectional.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Come on, what's the different you can arrange it my
- 6:33Speaker 3: same thing. It's a recliner is recliner just like the chair,
- 6:37Speaker 3: like the lazy boy, or like the sectional with the recliner.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Oh geez, I mean that I had that could go
- 6:43Speaker 3: first overall? I mean sectional with the recliner you get
- 6:45Speaker 3: in the best of both worlds. That would that would
- 6:47Speaker 3: have been my first overall.
- 6:48Speaker 4: I think I think my first overall is the perfect
- 6:52Speaker 4: bed with all the bells and whistles, you know, reclining
- 6:57Speaker 4: all that.
- 6:57Speaker 6: I took bed, and with my second.
- 6:59Speaker 5: You spend most of the time. I didn't think that was.
- 7:01Speaker 6: My argument is that the bed is you spend like
- 7:04Speaker 6: what a third of your life in a bed.
- 7:06Speaker 3: If you're lazy, yes, it'll be like me. You spend
- 7:08Speaker 3: most of your time on the on the coverage. Okay,
- 7:10Speaker 3: so watching TV.
- 7:11Speaker 4: So if you had to choose a football position for
- 7:15Speaker 4: each piece of furniture, what would the bed be? Would
- 7:18Speaker 4: that be your core defensive line, offensive line?
- 7:21Speaker 3: You're not like, really you're.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Not thinking about it, but it needs to be good.
- 7:25Speaker 6: It needs to be reliable, It needs to be consistent.
- 7:27Speaker 5: There's your quarterback. What piece of furniture you can't?
- 7:30Speaker 3: You can't?
- 7:32Speaker 6: Yeah, you consider that the TV, your arm law, your TV.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Like it's like that's the sexy one. That's right, wide receiver.
- 7:43Speaker 3: You know what deve a receiver is. This is the
- 7:45Speaker 3: sixty inch flat screen. They're not really furnishure though, right,
- 7:48Speaker 3: you can't sit on it. I don't think we need
- 7:51Speaker 3: to get a prospect list. You get a prospects list,
- 7:54Speaker 3: Like that's.
- 7:54Speaker 2: What I need to know, like because I'm not thinking
- 7:56Speaker 2: of everything like barstool, like at least like random for automate.
- 8:00Speaker 3: What about the kitchen table the autumn that opens up put.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Dining room table. That's like, you know, maybe that's your quarterback,
- 8:13Speaker 2: that's their day.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Three guys, furniture outdoor couch because like I think that's key, Like,
- 8:18Speaker 3: you know, really nice grill outdoor stuff. That's good. That's
- 8:23Speaker 3: furniture outdoor. Me.
- 8:26Speaker 6: You're also interested. Do you consider a hammock furniture?
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yes, I don't have a why on it.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Yeah, well I think it's more of it than a grill.
- 8:34Speaker 6: I told Barty couldn't take hammick. So when you it's
- 8:37Speaker 6: the definition of furniture that doesn't count.
- 8:39Speaker 4: When you have hammocked, do you have the rope hammock
- 8:42Speaker 4: or do you have the the you know, fabric hammock rope.
- 8:46Speaker 5: You gotta let the air such as that's that's.
- 8:53Speaker 3: What that was what I was getting at. Did you
- 8:55Speaker 3: do hammocks objects?
- 8:57Speaker 6: The Dallas Cowboys have made a pick at number eleven,
- 9:00Speaker 6: and who Dallas they elect from Ohio State University Caleb
- 9:06Speaker 6: Down safety.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, it's gonna pick. They stink on defense, don't
- 9:12Speaker 3: they They do on defense? Mike, that's inaccurate. Can what
- 9:17Speaker 3: a treat for them? I mean accurate?
- 9:19Speaker 2: What a talented guy to get at eleventh overall? I
- 9:22Speaker 2: mean I think you said at the top, maybe one
- 9:25Speaker 2: of the two most talented players, but and not even
- 9:29Speaker 2: I mean, yes, a lesser position, But that's what's.
- 9:32Speaker 3: A guy you can move round eleven because people you know,
- 9:35Speaker 3: don't necessarily very Kyle Hamilton.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Kyle Hamilton, I think when but like you know, Caleb Downs,
- 9:44Speaker 6: he didn't test, he didn't you know, didn't run a forty.
- 9:47Speaker 6: He's a little bit smaller than Kyle Hamilton. I think
- 9:49Speaker 6: He's about five eleven, you know, six feet tall, is
- 9:52Speaker 6: not quite that big of a safety.
- 9:54Speaker 3: But he, out of.
- 9:56Speaker 6: Any player that I can remember, uh in college ball,
- 10:00Speaker 6: moved around as much as anybody. And you know, Matt
- 10:02Speaker 6: Patricia obviously with the defensive background in the NFL, he
- 10:06Speaker 6: used him like an NFL safety. I mean, the guy
- 10:08Speaker 6: played everywhere in all levels of that Ohio State defense.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Big time playmaker, always around the football. You know, He's
- 10:16Speaker 6: somebody that a lot of people felt like where he's
- 10:20Speaker 6: gonna slide and then three years from now, we're gonna say, hey,
- 10:23Speaker 6: remember when they let ten guys go ahead of Caleb
- 10:26Speaker 6: Downs and how stupid that was. So we'll see if
- 10:29Speaker 6: that ends up being the way that it goes. Same
- 10:31Speaker 6: with they way went with Kyle Hamilton, just the position
- 10:35Speaker 6: to value the position just you know, knocks him down
- 10:37Speaker 6: the border.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Yep.
- 10:39Speaker 4: David and Texas says, lazy boy is the quarterback Hammock
- 10:42Speaker 4: is the third string quarterback out Okay.
- 10:46Speaker 6: I mean the late like I don't know, the lazy
- 10:48Speaker 6: boy to me is in the same category as as
- 10:51Speaker 6: like the trenches like that, like you're you're laying in it,
- 10:54Speaker 6: you're sitting in it.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Like you need it supports you.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly the quarterback as the quarterback. I mean these
- 11:02Speaker 6: it's the star I like Paul's. It's really like a
- 11:04Speaker 6: three tool furniture piece.
- 11:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It's like you could maybe even put a fridge in it.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Like you got chargers. I mean you could do it
- 11:09Speaker 2: all with your withesals.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Now now they got everything charging ports, charging charging ports
- 11:14Speaker 3: absolutely sudjustable. It can, it can changes your life grow.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Let's see how they go.
- 11:21Speaker 4: To the Cowboys, the Dallas Cowboys, so like killing down defensive.
- 11:30Speaker 7: Man.
- 11:32Speaker 3: So that that trade that Dallas had was only one
- 11:35Speaker 3: spot from Miami. It was they get they went to
- 11:38Speaker 3: get them over to go up a spot.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Yeah, they must say somebody else, someone else forget.
- 11:43Speaker 3: They were afraid someone else is going to go up.
- 11:45Speaker 3: But I think that's you know, that's that's interesting from Miami.
- 11:48Speaker 3: They're just like stockpiling some picks.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and they have a lot of early picks too.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Right.
- 11:53Speaker 3: They said that.
- 11:54Speaker 6: The Patriots, they were projecting we're going to be on
- 11:57Speaker 6: the clock at thirty one, at around ten thirty to
- 12:00Speaker 6: we're only on eleven. So I feel like we're we
- 12:04Speaker 6: got to pick up the it's almost like it's almost
- 12:07Speaker 6: like the league changed it to eight minutes so they
- 12:09Speaker 6: could take more time.
- 12:11Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, yeah, this has been this.
- 12:13Speaker 6: We've hit a we were moving in the beginning and
- 12:16Speaker 6: now we've we've hit a snag.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, we're a third of the way through. Uh.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Speking Fresno says, for God's sake, please give us some
- 12:26Speaker 4: goodell trash talk. Each of you identify what you most
- 12:29Speaker 4: loathe about him, but each choose something different. The worst
- 12:32Speaker 4: part of this weekend is watching that goblin demon troll
- 12:35Speaker 4: emerge from the bowels of hell to pretend he cares
- 12:38Speaker 4: about players.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Wow wow, Wow.
- 12:40Speaker 3: So my thing that I would hate the most about
- 12:43Speaker 3: him is sort of adjacent to that. It's the whole notion.
- 12:46Speaker 3: And Fred and I were there when he was doing
- 12:48Speaker 3: a he had like an informal like meeting, remember, and
- 12:52Speaker 3: you and I were there and he was telling talking
- 12:54Speaker 3: to Patriots fans and talking about the fans have told
- 12:56Speaker 3: us you want more games, you want the seventeen games season,
- 13:00Speaker 3: you want And I just like that whole line of
- 13:04Speaker 3: thought that he perpetuates. He tries so hard to let
- 13:08Speaker 3: it that it's you might choice you want games on
- 13:10Speaker 3: Thursday nights. You want games on Friday nights and Wednesday nights,
- 13:14Speaker 3: and you want them to play eighteen game regular seasons
- 13:16Speaker 3: when no one I really talk to really wants that. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 3: and that's the thing that I loathe about him the most.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I'm sorry to disappoint the emailer, but I viewed the
- 13:24Speaker 2: commissioner as the commissioner, and it's not him that wants
- 13:28Speaker 2: the games, it's the owners. He is the person who
- 13:30Speaker 2: has to step up there and do their bidding, and
- 13:33Speaker 2: you know, it's.
- 13:34Speaker 4: His number one job is to increase revenue and because
- 13:38Speaker 4: to take all the owners want.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And to take all the slings and arrows, and to
- 13:42Speaker 2: be the guy that everybody's probably right, you know, but
- 13:44Speaker 2: I get it. I mean, you know, there's there's certainly
- 13:46Speaker 2: been over the years things that you fellow the Patriots
- 13:48Speaker 2: may have been treated a little by him, But yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I don't.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I just hate that whole line of thought, like the
- 13:54Speaker 3: player safety stuff. But the email is talking about. I agree.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I don't think they cared all about that.
- 13:58Speaker 5: I don't love them the way other Patriots fans, Oh,
- 14:00Speaker 5: I don't.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I just like someone else in that And it's the
- 14:04Speaker 2: same exact things I think I would like.
- 14:06Speaker 6: To ask him what was the motivation behind dragging the
- 14:10Speaker 6: greatest player in the history of your sport through a
- 14:13Speaker 6: scandal that was a bunch of science, Like what, like,
- 14:16Speaker 6: what what was really behind that? Because this is a
- 14:20Speaker 6: figure that you are going to tout now when he
- 14:23Speaker 6: goes into the Hall of Fame and post career and
- 14:25Speaker 6: all that kind of stuff as the Michael Jordan of
- 14:28Speaker 6: your sport as the greatest player in the history of
- 14:30Speaker 6: the league, and you dragged him through the mud over
- 14:33Speaker 6: a couple of psis in the football I lost all respect.
- 14:36Speaker 3: For him that day.
- 14:37Speaker 6: I'm not gonna lie like, there's no it made no sense.
- 14:40Speaker 3: They made it.
- 14:41Speaker 6: They targeted him for no reason. Well, like I didn't
- 14:44Speaker 6: get that.
- 14:46Speaker 4: I came out very strongly at that during that saying,
- 14:49Speaker 4: you know, the commission of the league is calling Tom
- 14:51Speaker 4: Brady a cheat and a liar, you know, And but
- 14:56Speaker 4: I think he was in a tough place because if
- 14:59Speaker 4: he didn't do that, the other owners would come.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Down on them.
- 15:02Speaker 5: You know, everybody was looking for blood from the New
- 15:05Speaker 5: England Patriots.
- 15:06Speaker 3: But I didn't have to.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Go on for a year and go up to thee
- 15:13Speaker 6: because it was ridiculous.
- 15:14Speaker 3: There was a witch it was.
- 15:15Speaker 5: It was ridiculous.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Here's what I was pissed most pissed off about the
- 15:20Speaker 4: league about Dallas.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Look at them, Look at him?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Where's my little guy? He must have gotten grown up.
- 15:26Speaker 4: There's more non football people in the Dallas war room
- 15:29Speaker 4: than any other war room. What I was most mad
- 15:34Speaker 4: about the league about. And I guess I could blame
- 15:36Speaker 4: Goodell for this. They had the correct P S I
- 15:39Speaker 4: numbers after that, and they didn't release them until the
- 15:42Speaker 4: Wells report came out. They could have corrected those numbers,
- 15:48Speaker 4: Chris Mortenson numbers much earlier because they had the correct numbers.
- 15:52Speaker 4: That's what pissed me off the most.
- 15:54Speaker 3: You're here, Yeah, I think that. I think it means
- 15:57Speaker 3: it's definitely fair to be upset. He came down so
- 16:00Speaker 3: hard on something, you know, in my opinion that was
- 16:03Speaker 3: rather insignificant. But like Fred's point about, like he had
- 16:07Speaker 3: to do that to satisfy the other owners and that
- 16:10Speaker 3: was his fault. Also, wow, tackle, I think.
- 16:18Speaker 6: We're due for the rams. I believe are going to
- 16:22Speaker 6: have a stunning pick at thirteen.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Oh you already have it.
- 16:26Speaker 6: I believe so, but I've only seen it in one place.
- 16:29Speaker 6: So I don't want to say it out loud, but
- 16:31Speaker 6: I think the Rams are about to pull, are about
- 16:33Speaker 6: to take a shocking pick.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Here at a shocking pick. Shocking, bizarre setting this up.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I don't even say anymore.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Up to this point.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Any surprises for you.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Guys did a little bit. I think Tyson went a
- 16:44Speaker 3: little higher.
- 16:44Speaker 6: I mean I thought I thought Tyson top ten, but
- 16:47Speaker 6: Proctor here over Monroe feeling is maybe a little bit
- 16:50Speaker 6: of a surprise.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Proctor is a big, you know, hulking guy.
- 16:55Speaker 6: I mean, this guy is massive, really good athlete for
- 16:58Speaker 6: that size, but there were some concerns with him, you know,
- 17:01Speaker 6: in terms of you know, technique, foot speed, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 6: obviously endurance at that size. But they would do things
- 17:08Speaker 6: with him in college where like they would like put
- 17:10Speaker 6: him at receiver, they throw him the ball, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 6: right now, and he just like run people over like
- 17:16Speaker 6: you know, like a giant tight end, you know, Gronkowski style,
- 17:19Speaker 6: and like when you were when you're able to do
- 17:21Speaker 6: that at tackle at three three bills, I.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Was trying to figure out what could be so stunning.
- 17:26Speaker 3: That's a stunning pick. They made a stunning pick. The
- 17:29Speaker 3: Rams made a stunning pick. Evan did not oversell them.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Okay, do we want to say it good?
- 17:34Speaker 6: The Rams took Ty Simpson quarterback from.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Wow, that is stunning.
- 17:40Speaker 6: So apparently, according to Jay Glazer, Sean McVay called Matthew
- 17:46Speaker 6: Stafford and told Matthew Stafford that they were going to
- 17:49Speaker 6: do this, and Matthew Stafford is supposedly all for it.
- 17:54Speaker 3: But they took Ty Simpson at thirteen feels like a
- 17:58Speaker 3: pennex to me. Do you know who everybody owes an
- 18:00Speaker 3: apology to a little bit? Is dan O?
- 18:03Speaker 6: Dan Orlovsky has been patting the table that this guy
- 18:06Speaker 6: as a first round caliber quarterback. When Les ned and
- 18:09Speaker 6: Sean McVay agree with you so much so that they're
- 18:12Speaker 6: going to draft him with Matthew Stafford still on the roster,
- 18:15Speaker 6: that tells.
- 18:15Speaker 3: You how highly they think of him.
- 18:18Speaker 6: You know, we'll see, you know, his first seven eight
- 18:21Speaker 6: games of last year whereas good quarterback tape as Fernando Mendoza's.
- 18:26Speaker 6: He then fell completely off a cliff and he had
- 18:29Speaker 6: a very bad game against Indiana and the.
- 18:31Speaker 3: College football playoffs. So you know, it was one of
- 18:34Speaker 3: those things where if you just watched the first eight
- 18:37Speaker 3: or nine games of Tysonson season last year. You saw it.
- 18:40Speaker 6: You saw the first round talent, the first round ability.
- 18:43Speaker 6: But you know, as the season were on, some of
- 18:45Speaker 6: the awards came out and some of the lack of athleticism,
- 18:48Speaker 6: lack of physical tools.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Of that sort of thing. Just the physicality period. I
- 18:52Speaker 3: think he broke down. I think he got banged up
- 18:54Speaker 3: and injured and didn't play as well as a result.
- 18:57Speaker 3: But I don't know if you remember this. It was
- 18:59Speaker 3: he played so well early in the year. There was
- 19:01Speaker 3: a time like I just you know, Mike, you know
- 19:04Speaker 3: how I do it. Like I just watched a game. Oh,
- 19:06Speaker 3: I saw this game, and I came in and I
- 19:08Speaker 3: went to EV and I go, I think I've made
- 19:10Speaker 3: the determination that ty Simpsons is the best quarterback in
- 19:12Speaker 3: the country. And then like he never completed a pass again.
- 19:16Speaker 3: It was like the Pauly curse.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Who was a better quarterback coming out? Ty Simpson or Jordan.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Love coming out? Very different?
- 19:23Speaker 6: You know, Jordan Love threw a ton of picks in college.
- 19:25Speaker 6: I would say Tyson and was more of a project
- 19:27Speaker 6: and you know, had more upside than Tyson, but that
- 19:31Speaker 6: everyone kind of knew Jordan Love was going to have
- 19:33Speaker 6: to sit and develop behind.
- 19:36Speaker 3: This is a red shirt.
- 19:37Speaker 8: The reason why I'm asking is because the different Like
- 19:40Speaker 8: they're very different different.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Quarterbacks, but similar situation.
- 19:44Speaker 6: Yeah, but I would say ty Simpson is more Mac
- 19:46Speaker 6: Jones than he is Jordan Love, Like you know, he's
- 19:49Speaker 6: a He's somebody that I think could play right away
- 19:51Speaker 6: and could start right away.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Well play much though in college.
- 19:55Speaker 6: But like ty Simpson is not like Jordan Love was
- 19:58Speaker 6: like a raw like upside, great arm, talent, great act
- 20:01Speaker 6: lesson great size.
- 20:03Speaker 3: That's not Ty sims he needed. Yeah, they're totally different
- 20:05Speaker 3: styles of player. But I think the similarity that I
- 20:09Speaker 3: think Fred is talking about is neither one of them
- 20:11Speaker 3: is going to play.
- 20:12Speaker 5: They go into a team establish quarterback was.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Not But I think Ty Simpson is more in the
- 20:19Speaker 6: rock purty Jimmy garoppolo Mac Jones mold, whereas Jordan Love
- 20:24Speaker 6: is in more of that like Josh Allen, like this
- 20:26Speaker 6: guy's got great upside mold.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Yeah, they're two, they're polar opposites. Brought up Jimmy g
- 20:33Speaker 3: and I know that that he was in the news
- 20:34Speaker 3: a lot this week, and I think that McVeigh was
- 20:37Speaker 3: sort of trying to convince him to stick around for
- 20:40Speaker 3: another year, and I don't think that he wanted to. Jimmy,
- 20:45Speaker 3: I think is done. So you know, they they had
- 20:50Speaker 3: some urgency to get not only a guy for the future,
- 20:52Speaker 3: but a guy to back up.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Now.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think Ty Simpson could play it
- 20:56Speaker 6: right away if he was in a different situation. He's
- 20:58Speaker 6: obviously not going to play right away. Ram Jordan Love
- 21:01Speaker 6: could not play right away like Jordan.
- 21:03Speaker 3: You saw him when he did have to play good right.
- 21:07Speaker 6: So you know ty Simpson's you know, he's a guy
- 21:10Speaker 6: that I view as like a high floor.
- 21:12Speaker 3: What's a really really interesting pick? It just to me,
- 21:15Speaker 3: it's an illustration of the rams entire mindset.
- 21:17Speaker 5: They think differently they.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Do, but like the whole FM picks thing, they really
- 21:22Speaker 3: believe it, Like, yeah, I could take someone here in
- 21:25Speaker 3: the first round that can help me this year. I
- 21:27Speaker 3: don't need that, Like, I'm just going to take the
- 21:29Speaker 3: quarterback a quarterback. At some point, I'm going to see
- 21:32Speaker 3: if this guy can be developed. Like I do think
- 21:35Speaker 3: that they live by that f them picks. Manta, No,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I like it. I love teams ty Simpson.
- 21:40Speaker 5: Do you like being.
- 21:42Speaker 3: That would be one of five? Or they Evans, guy,
- 21:46Speaker 3: give me a floor even you know, no, just give
- 21:49Speaker 3: me a quarterback, developer, Kevin O'Connell, give me someone that
- 21:52Speaker 3: can get the most out of me. I mean absolutely,
- 21:54Speaker 3: I've learned behind Matthew Stabbor.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I mean by going in the first round, he makes
- 21:58Speaker 4: a little extra money, so that kind kind of softens
- 22:01Speaker 4: the blow of the start.
- 22:04Speaker 3: He's going to get about fifty million, right. Yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 6: I would just add, you know, to make this about
- 22:09Speaker 6: the Patriots. You know, the guy that all of us
- 22:11Speaker 6: thought that teams were trying to trade up for at
- 22:13Speaker 6: the back of the first round.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yep, just went start right. So the chances that Patriots
- 22:18Speaker 3: picking up one, that's.
- 22:19Speaker 5: An interesting thing.
- 22:21Speaker 4: So the teams that are like twenty nine to thirty two,
- 22:24Speaker 4: what's going on in their draft room right now?
- 22:26Speaker 5: How much does this shuffle their born?
- 22:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:29Speaker 6: You know that, That to me is the biggest domino
- 22:32Speaker 6: about this trade is that.
- 22:34Speaker 5: Yeah, they're not look at their draft room.
- 22:36Speaker 3: It's that's what I was four people. It's I got
- 22:39Speaker 3: a hoodie on.
- 22:40Speaker 6: Like they usually just another day. They usually rent out.
- 22:44Speaker 5: They don't have to laugh at anymore.
- 22:46Speaker 6: They usually rent out a house somewhere in like the
- 22:49Speaker 6: Hills of California, some fancy you know bougie house.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and they like it's like a drunk house for
- 22:54Speaker 3: three days and on Twitter that might have been Kingsburg.
- 22:58Speaker 6: They literally just like throw a rager for three days
- 23:02Speaker 6: and then every like hour they're like, oh, we're on
- 23:04Speaker 6: the clock, guys, and like less teems like they're taking
- 23:06Speaker 6: this guy.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I love it.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I just love teams that have personality and you know,
- 23:11Speaker 2: just have a style of their own.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And it's such a great division.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I mean that's and now it's you know, they're gonna
- 23:16Speaker 2: impressing you that.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Fred always makes fun of me because I definitely have
- 23:19Speaker 3: a saft spot for the Rams. I like the way
- 23:21Speaker 3: they do their business.
- 23:22Speaker 5: I like their Stafford.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Well, I love Stafford. I always have. We can revisit
- 23:27Speaker 3: if you want to make fun of me, when I
- 23:28Speaker 3: would have traded straight up Brady for Stafford. You know
- 23:31Speaker 3: back in the day Brady only went about seven more.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah this is yeah, long before Brady was finished. Ye yeah, yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 3: But I just I like the way they go about
- 23:42Speaker 3: their business and that they have they have conviction and
- 23:46Speaker 3: what they do. They're not afraid to be unconventional and
- 23:50Speaker 3: they're always talented. It's not like you know, when they
- 23:53Speaker 3: do the ebbs and flows, like when they have down years,
- 23:57Speaker 3: it's because of injury. It's not because they weren't good.
- 24:01Speaker 2: You know, they've got a great offensive coach and they're
- 24:03Speaker 2: always good offensively.
- 24:04Speaker 3: And he's a great you know, he's a great program
- 24:07Speaker 3: builder too. You know, he's the rare remember like.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Five years ago he was thinking about retiring.
- 24:12Speaker 3: After they won the Super Bowl.
- 24:14Speaker 6: He's the rare tight pants guy that also has a
- 24:17Speaker 6: little bit of like coaching acumen and like that ability
- 24:20Speaker 6: to lead people. You know, I don't know if you know, guy,
- 24:24Speaker 6: my guys like Kyle Shanahan and Matt Lafleur and some
- 24:27Speaker 6: of these other guys really have that trade. Like he's
- 24:30Speaker 6: got the coaching chops and the x's and nose and
- 24:33Speaker 6: like a little bit of Mike Rabel.
- 24:34Speaker 5: And here's the announcement of Ty Simpson.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Angels select Ty Simpson Riches alive.
- 24:49Speaker 5: But he knew It's not like they don't know too.
- 24:52Speaker 2: No, it's this is I mean, it's it kind of
- 24:54Speaker 2: like Pennock Slash. I know they're different players, but you know,
- 24:56Speaker 2: pen situation of the first and early second you know.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Maybe you can get them.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, Bloomy goes what I
- 25:02Speaker 2: mean almost God, when did he go Penick around there?
- 25:05Speaker 3: Penix right around No, he went top ten eight. Okay,
- 25:08Speaker 3: I want to say it's interesting.
- 25:11Speaker 7: You know.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Last year around this time, there was a lot of
- 25:15Speaker 6: rumors and then he went on to win the MVP
- 25:17Speaker 6: and nobody talked about it. But there's a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 6: like issues with Matthew Stafford's back, absolutely, and you know,
- 25:23Speaker 6: he had back issues going yeah, going into training camp
- 25:27Speaker 6: almost up to the season and then goes on to
- 25:30Speaker 6: win MVP and have the best year of his career
- 25:32Speaker 6: and take the Rams to the NFC Championship.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Game, and it was kind of like all forgotten.
- 25:36Speaker 6: But the Rams obviously no better than anybody, you know,
- 25:40Speaker 6: just how tenuous his back and his body is right now.
- 25:43Speaker 6: And maybe they know a little bit more than we
- 25:45Speaker 6: do about the fact that you know, Stafford might not
- 25:48Speaker 6: hold up for the entire season. Yeah, and you know
- 25:50Speaker 6: now they have a guy that can.
- 25:52Speaker 4: All right, Well, that's interesting and like we said, teams
- 25:55Speaker 4: at the bottom of the draft in the first round
- 25:58Speaker 4: might be uh reshuffed some things there.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And it's just a reminder of how hard it is
- 26:03Speaker 2: to get the quarterback and how valuable it is, and
- 26:05Speaker 2: how you know when you have an opportunity to get
- 26:07Speaker 2: a guy that you believe in and you're in the
- 26:09Speaker 2: position to take that guy.
- 26:10Speaker 3: And I think what Paul was kind of getting that
- 26:12Speaker 3: because you gotta.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Respect that decision of Yeah, they could have, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 2: drafted on any of these guys, but they went with
- 26:19Speaker 2: the quarterback.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I mean, and Ruben Bain still on the board.
- 26:21Speaker 6: Like there's guys that definitely you felt like, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 6: are good football player is still left.
- 26:26Speaker 4: But will there be a quarterback, another quarterback chosen by
- 26:32Speaker 4: the third round?
- 26:34Speaker 6: Another quarterback chosen? I yes, I think Carson Beck's gonna
- 26:37Speaker 6: go in the second maybe in the second, Okay, Yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 6: I would say Carson beck Is has a chance to
- 26:42Speaker 6: go pretty pretty early. He was an interesting player, like
- 26:46Speaker 6: I Carson Beck, you know, I think has some mobility
- 26:50Speaker 6: and has some of the traits that you look for
- 26:52Speaker 6: at an NFL quarterback. Maybe didn't quite put it all
- 26:55Speaker 6: together in college, but I could see somebody taking him
- 26:58Speaker 6: in the second round.
- 27:00Speaker 3: All right.
- 27:02Speaker 4: What everyone wants to talk about is furniture Dave in
- 27:05Speaker 4: the Philippines. Since I spend all day every day in
- 27:07Speaker 4: front of my computer, mostly watching podcasts on papers dot com.
- 27:11Speaker 4: My quarterback is my office chair in front of my computer,
- 27:14Speaker 4: my lazy boys, my left tackle, and my bed. More specifically,
- 27:18Speaker 4: my mattress is my defensive line. I need that sleep.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Okay, I think you know this might be a personal
- 27:24Speaker 2: thing of your your quarterback. It's probably a different answer
- 27:27Speaker 2: for everybody, because everybody has a favorite piece of furniture
- 27:31Speaker 2: that you enjoy sitting on, perhaps resting.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Okay, that's your favorite piece on dude? What was the now?
- 27:44Speaker 3: I you know what? I I just love my sectional.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You know that's my favorite spot. Posted up.
- 27:48Speaker 5: I have one of those stressless chairs.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Stressless really when you sit there, you feel nothing? Does it?
- 27:54Speaker 6: Does it lift you out of the chair like you're
- 27:56Speaker 6: talking about, Yeah, it's good my chair.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's like I waited blanket.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Those are such a scam and we've had one for
- 28:05Speaker 2: years on our bed and I'm like every time I
- 28:07Speaker 2: try to move that thing, like, what do you mean?
- 28:10Speaker 3: I need to know more? What do you mean stressless?
- 28:12Speaker 4: It's the brand brand name is Stressless.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Don't worry you go look it up.
- 28:21Speaker 5: You know, you know Noah from Kentucky moving to Seattle, wish. Look, yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 5: now that we're a.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Few picks in, I'm ready to trade up and pick
- 28:32Speaker 4: pinions Sadik.
- 28:34Speaker 5: I'm somewhat joking. I take him at number five.
- 28:36Speaker 4: But what range do you all think would be reasonable
- 28:38Speaker 4: to trade up to get them?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Oh, mid mid twenties maybe, sure, twenty four, twenty five somewhere.
- 28:45Speaker 5: And would you.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Depends on what I'm giving up. I don't know. Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 3: probably not. I'd be interested, but I need to know
- 28:52Speaker 3: what the parameter.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I personally probably would not, But if they did it,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I would say good for you, I think. I mean again,
- 28:59Speaker 2: I just think that T. E two spot is just
- 29:01Speaker 2: such an easy place to There aren't many positions on
- 29:04Speaker 2: the roster right now that you can look at and
- 29:06Speaker 2: say there's an opportunity for someone to step in and
- 29:08Speaker 2: play immediately.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I mean, nose tackle.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Will definitely be r Yeah, nose tackle edge, but an edge,
- 29:13Speaker 2: and but after that, you know, and then but you
- 29:15Speaker 2: look at the T two and you can protect him
- 29:17Speaker 2: Hunter Henry, I mean he's thirty two. You know, he's
- 29:20Speaker 2: still coming off two great years. I'm a little bit
- 29:22Speaker 2: radar up on him with how he kind of fell
- 29:24Speaker 2: off a little bit at the end.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Uh, but I just see that that te two spot.
- 29:28Speaker 2: And even if it's a kid like you know, mass
- 29:30Speaker 2: Claire or Oscar delp, you don't need to ask a
- 29:32Speaker 2: lot of them. You just need to be like, use
- 29:33Speaker 2: your athleticism, get open and let Drake find you.
- 29:38Speaker 5: The Ravens pick is in do we know who?
- 29:41Speaker 3: We don't know yet?
- 29:42Speaker 5: Okay?
- 29:43Speaker 4: Mean, while christ and Maine wants to know, does this staff,
- 29:46Speaker 4: meaning the Rabel staff historically draft players who they have
- 29:49Speaker 4: in for top thirty visits.
- 30:01Speaker 7: Guard.
- 30:03Speaker 6: This is maybe one of my favorite players in the
- 30:05Speaker 6: entire dress.
- 30:06Speaker 3: This guy wants to ruin people's days, Like he wants
- 30:12Speaker 3: to put you in the ground.
- 30:14Speaker 6: And then once he puts you in the ground, he's
- 30:15Speaker 6: gonna go find somebody else and he can put that
- 30:17Speaker 6: guy on the ground too.
- 30:18Speaker 5: You know.
- 30:18Speaker 6: He is just an absolute demon out there. The power,
- 30:23Speaker 6: but I would say the finishing ability is what really
- 30:25Speaker 6: stands out with him. I just loved watching him. I mean,
- 30:29Speaker 6: you could watch one tape of him and you could
- 30:31Speaker 6: see him stack a dozen pancakes in one game.
- 30:33Speaker 3: He's that mean, that kind of Baltimore Raven.
- 30:37Speaker 6: You know, Lamar Jackson Derrick Henry running the ball behind
- 30:41Speaker 6: vego Iana is gonna be a tough sledding for teams.
- 30:44Speaker 6: You better bring your hard hat on that day because
- 30:46Speaker 6: they're gonna run you over and you.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Like to confirm. Yeah, I mean interesting. I mean, he
- 30:54Speaker 2: definitely feels like a Ravens player, which I know it's not.
- 30:55Speaker 3: They're not the races. I know he's a guard, not
- 30:58Speaker 3: a center, but like up that interior part of the line,
- 31:01Speaker 3: I think that they struggled a little bit running the
- 31:04Speaker 3: ball a little bit last year, not as not as
- 31:06Speaker 3: productive as they have been, although you wouldn't know that
- 31:09Speaker 3: from the Patriots game, but well, you know, until the
- 31:12Speaker 3: fourth quarter when John Harbaugh decided I'm not going to
- 31:15Speaker 3: coach anymore, I knew that was coming. Yeah, they need
- 31:18Speaker 3: a guard. I mean, just looking at their depth chart.
- 31:19Speaker 3: I mean Andrew Voorhees and John Simpsons.
- 31:22Speaker 6: He's a bad man. He's a fun player.
- 31:25Speaker 5: I'm all.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I'm fine with taking guards in the first round if
- 31:28Speaker 4: they're going to be really good.
- 31:29Speaker 2: So if you're a linebacker and you got to get
- 31:32Speaker 2: around or off of that guy's block and then you
- 31:34Speaker 2: got to tackle Derrick Henry, yeah right, you're not gonna
- 31:37Speaker 2: have a fun time.
- 31:38Speaker 5: A long Day's.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Question. Took Mike an hour and a half to get
- 31:42Speaker 3: Derek Henry involved in that.
- 31:44Speaker 5: He just.
- 31:47Speaker 4: So back to christ and Mays question, what weight do
- 31:50Speaker 4: we put in the guys that have come for thirty visits?
- 31:53Speaker 5: Do they have historically a track record of taking those?
- 31:56Speaker 6: No, they they did last year, But we have a
- 32:00Speaker 6: one year sample size of that happening. So I don't
- 32:02Speaker 6: know how large of a sample size that is, uh,
- 32:05Speaker 6: if we want to put too much stock in that.
- 32:07Speaker 3: But last year, I want to.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Say they took four guys that were in for a
- 32:12Speaker 6: thirty visit. That's pretty So I think that that's a
- 32:16Speaker 6: number that is, yeah, significant enough to say, okay, this
- 32:20Speaker 6: this could be a trend.
- 32:21Speaker 3: You know, we'll see if that that trend holds. But
- 32:24Speaker 3: but traditionally it's like, you got questions about the guy.
- 32:27Speaker 2: It's not because we love this guy so much. You know,
- 32:29Speaker 2: maybe there are instances like that we want to get
- 32:31Speaker 2: a fake.
- 32:31Speaker 3: If a guy has a lot of thirty visits, one
- 32:34Speaker 3: individual guy goes to like ten different teams, yeah, you
- 32:37Speaker 3: know he's That means there's a lot of questions about
- 32:39Speaker 3: the gun.
- 32:39Speaker 6: I think it's different for this regime. For you know,
- 32:44Speaker 6: I feel like Belichick used to have guys and for
- 32:46Speaker 6: thirty visits to throw people off the scent of what
- 32:49Speaker 6: he was actually trying to do. He would everything that
- 32:51Speaker 6: they would put out there smoke screen about oh they
- 32:56Speaker 6: had so and so in for a thirty visit.
- 32:58Speaker 9: A J.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Brown comes in for a thirty visit.
- 33:01Speaker 6: He's taking pictures of himself in the parking lot at
- 33:03Speaker 6: Jilted Stadium, like hope, hope I'm back in a couple
- 33:06Speaker 6: of months.
- 33:06Speaker 3: And they take the kids table.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Yeah, like you know, like that that's classic Patriots. With
- 33:11Speaker 6: this team, I feel like it might be a little
- 33:12Speaker 6: bit different, and maybe this is just too much on
- 33:14Speaker 6: one draft, but there's a lot of I think, you know,
- 33:19Speaker 6: they put a lot of stock on Mike Rabel kind
- 33:21Speaker 6: of sitting across from the table from the kid and
- 33:24Speaker 6: feeling them out, you know, and putting them on the
- 33:26Speaker 6: spot and doing the whole Rabel stare down and you know,
- 33:29Speaker 6: I think that that that's what happens at these visits.
- 33:32Speaker 6: So maybe they put a little bit more stock in
- 33:35Speaker 6: it because they feel like Rabel can be a good
- 33:37Speaker 6: judge of character of what these guys are like.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Okay, Tim wrights In, did the Rams just draft the
- 33:43Speaker 4: cold strange.
- 33:45Speaker 6: No, no, no, not anything like that. They drafted in
- 33:48Speaker 6: Alabama quarter.
- 33:49Speaker 3: It's actually the opposite. The position is most coveted in
- 33:54Speaker 3: the draft as opposed to one of the least coveted
- 33:57Speaker 3: positions in the draft, right right.
- 33:59Speaker 2: And you know, to Evan's point, there were a number
- 34:01Speaker 2: of teams that probably went we thought we'd have a
- 34:04Speaker 2: chance at him at the bottom of the No, yeah, sorry.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Denzel, Sorry to the Jets. No, oh to Tampa, to
- 34:12Speaker 3: the Jets. Not Denzel, Oh no you other you other guy,
- 34:18Speaker 3: the right tackle.
- 34:19Speaker 6: I don't know who who the Bucks took at fifteen yet,
- 34:21Speaker 6: so I don't want to say that the Jets took
- 34:23Speaker 6: because that would be, uh, we're.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Going out of order here. But we're rub Oh yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 3: ryvan Bain went to the Buck. The Bucks took Rubin Bain.
- 34:34Speaker 6: I'm just really surprised that everybody kind of overthought this
- 34:36Speaker 6: with Ruben Bain, Like I.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Was just about to ask you if you thought he
- 34:40Speaker 3: was to the point where he's starting to slide, not
- 34:42Speaker 3: that I thought he was slide thirty one.
- 34:44Speaker 6: This is probably you know, we're probably just early enough
- 34:49Speaker 6: that it's not a true slide like this is an
- 34:50Speaker 6: Aaron Rodgers right sliding from potentially one to twenty three
- 34:54Speaker 6: or whatever it was. But the only issue with ruben
- 34:58Speaker 6: Bain's profile, and now I think there was some things
- 35:00Speaker 6: maybe in the pre draft process that came out, maybe
- 35:02Speaker 6: about injuries or something like that. I can't remember exactly,
- 35:04Speaker 6: but from a player standpoint, the only thing about ruben
- 35:08Speaker 6: Bain's profile that wasn't a top ten player was that
- 35:10Speaker 6: he had short arms. And to you know, to me,
- 35:13Speaker 6: this is a really good pick for the Bucks. Like,
- 35:15Speaker 6: I think he's going to be just fine, and I'm
- 35:18Speaker 6: shocked that they overthought, especially in a draft like this
- 35:20Speaker 6: where there's not a lot of blue chip talent. I
- 35:23Speaker 6: just thought Rubin Bain was a top ten player in
- 35:25Speaker 6: the class and we kind of just got caught up
- 35:28Speaker 6: on short arms. My guy the Jets took Kenyan sadik Is.
- 35:34Speaker 2: So it's funny though, with like some of these guys,
- 35:37Speaker 2: you spend you know, various amounts of times more than
- 35:40Speaker 2: others thinking about these players, and then you know, a
- 35:43Speaker 2: guy like Baine goes to the Bucks and I'm like,
- 35:45Speaker 2: all right, I don't really think about him anymore. But
- 35:47Speaker 2: then Sadik goes to the Jets and you're like, oh god,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you know, like and how I really got to think
- 35:50Speaker 2: about this guy, you know, I mean, like just go
- 35:53Speaker 2: right to tight ends last year problem.
- 35:56Speaker 3: So they had the young tight end that played pretty
- 35:58Speaker 3: well for them. Mike can I not think of his name?
- 36:00Speaker 3: Helped me. They had a young tight end that played
- 36:01Speaker 3: pretty well for Jets.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, yea Jets had anybody that.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Played well last year.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I got you, I got the I don't remember, I
- 36:07Speaker 2: got the don't remember this, I got the r lads up.
- 36:11Speaker 6: He didn't play well, Sorry, he played well for them
- 36:15Speaker 6: for the Jets.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Did Mason Taylor did the bars here? I mean he
- 36:20Speaker 3: had forty four for three sixty nine, I mean three
- 36:22Speaker 3: hundred and sixty nine yards. Did I send the worst
- 36:24Speaker 3: quarterback I've ever seen playing an NFL game playing That
- 36:28Speaker 3: guy who played against the Patriots in that JV game
- 36:30Speaker 3: at the end of the year was the single worst quarterback.
- 36:33Speaker 3: I'm just saying that. The gonna say that he got
- 36:36Speaker 3: yeah for this is your thing. He caught him for
- 36:38Speaker 3: eight years.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Say it was.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I didn't say it was approval or anything. It was Okay, God,
- 36:43Speaker 3: I mean, they did draft the guy in the first
- 36:44Speaker 3: round and clearly was a need. That's what I'm saying.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Like I was a little surprised that they would go
- 36:50Speaker 3: to that position because I think they have a number
- 36:53Speaker 3: of needs.
- 36:54Speaker 6: Right, good, good, uh good draft for the Jets. But
- 36:57Speaker 6: I feel like I've said that before when they drafted
- 36:59Speaker 6: Sauce and Gear Wilson, and if drafting hasn't been the problem,
- 37:02Speaker 6: didn't really matter. But I really think David Bailey and
- 37:06Speaker 6: Kenyon Sidek or two of the better players in this class,
- 37:08Speaker 6: and they got both of them, so you know that
- 37:11Speaker 6: that's a good pick. I mean, I don't know who's
- 37:12Speaker 6: going to throw them the ball and if it's going
- 37:14Speaker 6: to be any good but Gino at least originally.
- 37:16Speaker 5: But you know, that's amazing.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Though the Jets drafting good players doesn't seem to have
- 37:21Speaker 4: made a.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Difference, because if you don't have a like some sort
- 37:25Speaker 3: of competence, Like the irony is if they had what
- 37:30Speaker 3: Gino Smith has been, say the last five years. Okay,
- 37:32Speaker 3: last year he was terrible, but like, let's let's go
- 37:35Speaker 3: the last five years. If they had that version of
- 37:38Speaker 3: Geno Smith over the last five years, they would have
- 37:41Speaker 3: been Okay. I don't think they would have been like
- 37:43Speaker 3: a deep playoff team or anything, but they would have
- 37:45Speaker 3: been sniffing the playoffs with the talent that they had,
- 37:48Speaker 3: with fairly competent quarterback play. Now, Gino Smith was terrible
- 37:52Speaker 3: last year and they get him back, Like, I don't know,
- 37:55Speaker 3: this is the first flow just scored again.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Uh, this is the first player that is off my
- 38:03Speaker 6: big board. First first guy that we've crossed off. We
- 38:06Speaker 6: lost Sadik, so you know, he's off the list. The
- 38:10Speaker 6: Jets thing that I think is interesting as the coaching staff,
- 38:13Speaker 6: like I just don't know who's going to be coaching
- 38:15Speaker 6: these guys in two years. And you know they hired
- 38:17Speaker 6: Frank Reich as their offensive coordinator. He had a falling out,
- 38:21Speaker 6: you know, his last stop, and I don't really know
- 38:24Speaker 6: how great of a coordinator he is in the twenty
- 38:26Speaker 6: twenty six. You know, maybe he was five years ago.
- 38:29Speaker 6: Aaron Glenn's situation is also tenuous. The one thing I
- 38:32Speaker 6: would say about Sadik is that he is kind of
- 38:35Speaker 6: a unique player, Like you're going to have to need
- 38:37Speaker 6: you need a plan of like how we're gonna funnel
- 38:40Speaker 6: target to this guy and how exactly we're going to
- 38:42Speaker 6: use him, and uh, you know where he's going to
- 38:44Speaker 6: line up and all these different types of things and
- 38:47Speaker 6: hopefully they got a plan for him.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Well hopefully they don't honestly, but you know no, I know, yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 3: like you got to treat them all like their regular teams.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's the thing that I would be worried
- 38:56Speaker 6: about for the Jets is. I think Sadik is kind
- 38:58Speaker 6: of like a chess piece, and you you have to
- 39:00Speaker 6: sort of have the coaching chops to truly unlock a
- 39:04Speaker 6: player like that.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Fred, we have Alex upstairs again.
- 39:07Speaker 4: All right, let's go back to the party.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Is okay, you got the beauty shot there? What's going on?
- 39:19Speaker 3: Do you want to play match Meker with me? I
- 39:20Speaker 3: found I found some people on a date? Oh?
- 39:24Speaker 2: Is it is?
- 39:25Speaker 10: It?
- 39:25Speaker 5: Was it one of those app dates? Did you meet
- 39:27Speaker 5: on an app?
- 39:28Speaker 3: It would be so, did you guys meet on an app?
- 39:31Speaker 4: No, this isn't in real life, In real life meeting
- 39:36Speaker 4: Hunter Here is the season ticket member.
- 39:38Speaker 3: This is Elsie, his lovely date. So we're gonna ask
- 39:41Speaker 3: Elsie first, how's it going. It's going great. I'm having
- 39:44Speaker 3: a great time. I haven't been here since high school
- 39:47Speaker 3: when I had prom here, and uh, I'm definitely excited.
- 39:50Speaker 11: To get rid of those memories and replace them with
- 39:52Speaker 11: better ones. We went down to the locker room and
- 39:55Speaker 11: we're gonna go to the lighthouse too.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Okay, fun now took a dark turn? Did you approach Elsie?
- 40:01Speaker 3: How did this? How did this happen? Yeah?
- 40:05Speaker 5: Sorry?
- 40:05Speaker 4: At a barm she was beautiful, made eye contests, went by.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I said, how you're doing? You know how you're doing.
- 40:21Speaker 3: He's a Patriots fan. You're not a Patriots fan.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Is that going to be a problem for you guys
- 40:26Speaker 2: going forward in the future?
- 40:28Speaker 3: You know, I can live with it? Can Hunter?
- 40:30Speaker 5: Though?
- 40:32Speaker 1: Well, we'll see when she goes to her first game
- 40:34Speaker 1: how how it goes.
- 40:35Speaker 11: So you're long game here because they've only known each
- 40:38Speaker 11: other a month, so you're already like, we're gonna make
- 40:41Speaker 11: it through the summer and get to that home opener.
- 40:43Speaker 11: I believe so, I believe in love.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Wow, Elsie, how do you what do you think about
- 40:50Speaker 3: his projection?
- 40:51Speaker 5: I'm a lover girl.
- 40:52Speaker 12: He's a lover boy, and I'm having a good time
- 40:54Speaker 12: and he's having a good time, and I don't want.
- 40:56Speaker 3: To force it, but let it be, Let it be
- 40:59Speaker 3: what it is. What we might have something here. She's
- 41:05Speaker 3: a Lions Fanchan grew up in Michigan, so I won't
- 41:11Speaker 3: give it. And then I moved.
- 41:13Speaker 13: She says, it's not like Hunter Henry is ten times
- 41:16Speaker 13: better than Sam Laporta all day long, best tighter in
- 41:18Speaker 13: the NFL.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Hunter Henry all day long their first fight. This is
- 41:22Speaker 3: their first fight.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Any questions for for our love birds up here?
- 41:28Speaker 5: All right? Well, good stuff, love is in the air.
- 41:31Speaker 5: All right, thanks for sure. All right, we'll talk to
- 41:35Speaker 5: you a little bit. Good luck you two lovers.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 41:39Speaker 6: I feel like, uh me, I did not bring Jess
- 41:42Speaker 6: on a day to the draft party, but that is
- 41:44Speaker 6: so something I would do if I didn't work.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Would you just you know she's the one and just
- 41:49Speaker 3: say I just looked across the bar and she's beautiful.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Shoot your shoot.
- 41:53Speaker 5: He's really aggressively, this guy. He's looking for love right
- 41:57Speaker 5: as well.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I say I love that he did it the
- 42:00Speaker 3: fashion way. It wasn't on the apps.
- 42:01Speaker 2: And I will also saying, al it's like girls love
- 42:03Speaker 2: playing matchmaker, like does that like my wife?
- 42:05Speaker 3: Like girls love it?
- 42:06Speaker 5: They like, oh my god, you're singling to find a guy.
- 42:09Speaker 2: For you and like they live off of it. So
- 42:11Speaker 2: I get job Alex tracking those people. I wonder how
- 42:14Speaker 2: she did that.
- 42:14Speaker 6: The old fashioned ways is so rare, like I don't
- 42:17Speaker 6: know anybody. It's difficult in our friends circle that but
- 42:20Speaker 6: the young generation don't know, like the fortitude you have
- 42:24Speaker 6: to find to walk up to a girl and be like,
- 42:26Speaker 6: but you want to go out? You're missing why that
- 42:29Speaker 6: doesn't happen? That doesn't happen anymore because you might be
- 42:32Speaker 6: a serial killer like you like, you know, people like
- 42:35Speaker 6: to like vet people before they just randomly go home
- 42:38Speaker 6: with them.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Nothing you can do no better than I'm interested with
- 42:42Speaker 3: that line of thought, there's more of a chance of
- 42:45Speaker 3: having a serial killer that you actually meet and see
- 42:48Speaker 3: somewhere as opposed to be that mine where the body
- 42:51Speaker 3: you want to wipe right right exactly. But I have
- 42:55Speaker 3: a hard time.
- 42:58Speaker 6: I mean, you spend you know, not to tell you
- 43:00Speaker 6: not to go into the whole sausage thing here how
- 43:03Speaker 6: the sausage is made. But you probably probably spend at
- 43:06Speaker 6: least a week maybe even two, like texting and talking
- 43:10Speaker 6: to that person and getting a feeling.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Of psycho You can do that really well, I understand,
- 43:15Speaker 3: but the idea that's that's the I a lot of
- 43:17Speaker 3: I would.
- 43:18Speaker 8: Ask tew that, Okay, I don't want to speak for girls,
- 43:22Speaker 8: but I feel like girls like it's more about like
- 43:25Speaker 8: they feel uncomfortable with like just person.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Coming up person, and I'm that's my real more comfortable,
- 43:33Speaker 3: you know, I am a person. I would like to
- 43:36Speaker 3: talk come on. But like the texting thing is what
- 43:39Speaker 3: gets me because that's just cheating.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Like you used to have to call them on the
- 43:42Speaker 2: phone and you're like, oh God, are they going to
- 43:44Speaker 2: pick up? And like I remember one time I got
- 43:45Speaker 2: a girl's number and I called her and I got
- 43:47Speaker 2: her answering machine, and I went through this whole debate.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Of like do you leave a message?
- 43:51Speaker 4: Just imagine conversation going on the overthought that by the
- 43:59Speaker 4: time you figured out, it's like less.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I mean that movie Swingers does a great bit where
- 44:03Speaker 2: he keeps calling back and like you know, and then
- 44:05Speaker 2: she picks up.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Yeah, So what was her name? Fan? Detroit Lions fan?
- 44:14Speaker 6: I heard Detroit Lions took Blake Miller at the seven,
- 44:18Speaker 6: so he can there's there's.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Him off the list.
- 44:21Speaker 6: I felt like the one thing that was challenging Blake
- 44:24Speaker 6: Miller so much to make it to the Patriots at
- 44:26Speaker 6: thirty one fifty four starts in college.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Never missed the game play guy for a team that
- 44:32Speaker 3: needs some life.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Yeah right, you know, true freshman on uh he never
- 44:36Speaker 6: like there were things that were written about him where
- 44:38Speaker 6: like people said, I'm not sure he missed a practice
- 44:42Speaker 6: at Clemson, let alone a game.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Uh, and so just that kind.
- 44:46Speaker 6: Of durability, that experience, but still being a younger prospect
- 44:50Speaker 6: at twenty two years old, it just felt like that's
- 44:53Speaker 6: it's too much of a fair way pick. Like we
- 44:55Speaker 6: talked to earlier about singles and doubles, like it just
- 44:58Speaker 6: felt too much good to be true that a player
- 45:00Speaker 6: that polished and that can be.
- 45:03Speaker 3: An RBI single that might be a little bit more there.
- 45:06Speaker 3: I went home. I just think for the Lions, yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 3: their strength has been the offensive line for a while.
- 45:14Speaker 3: The only thing is with Tennis Sewell on the right.
- 45:17Speaker 6: Side, Dan Campbell has said that they he wants to
- 45:21Speaker 6: switch Penny Sool to the left this year and they've
- 45:23Speaker 6: had those conversations.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Makes sense.
- 45:25Speaker 6: Then Tristan Wharfs did the same thing in Tampa Bay
- 45:28Speaker 6: and had no problem with it. He's now in All
- 45:30Speaker 6: Pro on the left side, so they it's been done.
- 45:33Speaker 6: With that caliber of player, it's a little bit easier.
- 45:36Speaker 3: So that's right, playing four tackles. Proctor low move my.
- 45:41Speaker 6: Noah, I guess is always say that and uh Blake Miller.
- 45:46Speaker 6: So if if you count Fanoa as a as a tackle, then.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they're saying Montanoa Judy batists reporting that will play guard.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Initially, yeah, it doesn't surprise me.
- 45:55Speaker 6: He's like a wide bodied guy, thick lowers like big, big,
- 45:59Speaker 6: big trunk as we like to.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Posterior.
- 46:05Speaker 4: But getting back to the couple at moret, I thought
- 46:10Speaker 4: it was really an unnecessary chirp to go after the
- 46:13Speaker 4: tight end.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Well you know, it's like, yeah, they're feeling it out.
- 46:16Speaker 4: But I agree already after one month and thinks are
- 46:21Speaker 4: gonna make it.
- 46:21Speaker 3: And then he's like, you don't need Some couples have
- 46:25Speaker 3: that little back and forth.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Maybe, but you kind of established.
- 46:29Speaker 2: And she should have been like shut up, like I
- 46:32Speaker 2: don't think she's six years younger right now.
- 46:35Speaker 3: But I texted my brother I try to get like
- 46:37Speaker 3: a synopsis of the Bruins game. Obviously you know the
- 46:40Speaker 3: score and how it went out of side, out of mind.
- 46:42Speaker 3: I was interested, you know what you think of it?
- 46:44Speaker 3: I really didn't watch, and I'm like, what a loser.
- 46:46Speaker 3: You're watching the loser. He's watching this show. I know
- 46:49Speaker 3: he's not watching us.
- 46:50Speaker 6: I would ask Jess, but they lost, and I don't
- 46:52Speaker 6: think that's a good conversation's gonna let.
- 46:56Speaker 3: I could ask Ba and she said, well, they just
- 46:57Speaker 3: like they just kept shooting and getting the net.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Like I'll just give I'm sure this is my guess.
- 47:05Speaker 2: It's a two one playoff game. These are two teams
- 47:07Speaker 2: don't have a lot of talent. One goal one one
- 47:09Speaker 2: team got.
- 47:10Speaker 3: You know, I look like looked like Swim was kind
- 47:12Speaker 3: of screened on that second one. But yeah, I didn't.
- 47:14Speaker 3: You kind of thought that the I couldn't tell Gore
- 47:17Speaker 3: was a terrible goal the goalie, but I thought to
- 47:19Speaker 3: allow them on.
- 47:20Speaker 6: So we'll be we'll be in the house on Sunday,
- 47:23Speaker 6: so we'll get that series tied up.
- 47:25Speaker 5: There.
- 47:25Speaker 3: We to just no nice, but you going to playoff?
- 47:27Speaker 3: That's great, that's fun.
- 47:28Speaker 6: Great we went to Uh now we're getting off track.
- 47:31Speaker 6: But one of the best sporting events, honestly, that I've
- 47:34Speaker 6: ever been to into Game seven against Toronto a couple
- 47:36Speaker 6: of years ago, and they won an overtime and Pasta
- 47:38Speaker 6: scored right on the goal that we were sitting behind
- 47:41Speaker 6: in overtime to win the series in Game seven, and
- 47:44Speaker 6: that was as loud as I've ever heard the garden.
- 47:46Speaker 3: I mean, it was really just a you know, quick update.
- 47:49Speaker 2: We are halfway through the first round now here at
- 47:51Speaker 2: nine to fifty, so it looks like we're going about midnight.
- 47:54Speaker 3: A funny thing happened on the way to that Celtics
- 47:57Speaker 3: Nicks second round matchup Atlanta up to games to one,
- 48:00Speaker 3: Atlanta one. Yeah. I do not want to start stop it.
- 48:07Speaker 6: Don't do this to me tonight. And I really want
- 48:10Speaker 6: nothing to do with the Knicks. I don't want to
- 48:11Speaker 6: play the Knicks again.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I talked to you today on radio. I don't want it, Joe,
- 48:17Speaker 3: I saw how did that go. I was on my
- 48:20Speaker 3: best behavior because I didn't want to end up going
- 48:22Speaker 3: viral for him yelling at me about something that I
- 48:24Speaker 3: didn't want. Blake Miller, do we missed the Blake Mill?
- 48:27Speaker 5: We talked about Blake.
- 48:29Speaker 3: We can talk about that off the air. I want
- 48:31Speaker 3: I want more. The Vikings picked Uh at eighteen as well.
- 48:35Speaker 6: They took Caleb Banks, defensive tackle from Florida. Caleb Banks
- 48:42Speaker 6: is one of those guys that I think is a
- 48:43Speaker 6: little bit misunderstood in this draft. Very high level pass
- 48:47Speaker 6: rusher but built like a run stuffer. But I actually
- 48:50Speaker 6: think right now he's a better pass rusher than he
- 48:53Speaker 6: is a run stuffer. He's one of those guys too
- 48:56Speaker 6: that if you just watched his highlights, not the actual game,
- 48:59Speaker 6: but just highlights, you'd be like, oh my god, this
- 49:02Speaker 6: guy's a top ten pick, right, But then you peel
- 49:05Speaker 6: back the layers of the onion and you're like, Okay,
- 49:08Speaker 6: there's some work to do against the run. He has
- 49:10Speaker 6: a consistent foot injury that he's been dealing with on
- 49:13Speaker 6: and off for the last two years. He actually broke
- 49:16Speaker 6: a bone in his foot the night before his workout
- 49:20Speaker 6: at the combine. Did part of his workout at the combine,
- 49:23Speaker 6: was like, my foot doesn't feel right, and found out
- 49:26Speaker 6: at the Combine that he broke his foot. So you know,
- 49:29Speaker 6: he's got some weird things going on with him.
- 49:31Speaker 5: But well, according to Brugal, it's a little bit of
- 49:33Speaker 5: a reach.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it's by far the biggest step reach. I would
- 49:36Speaker 3: say a little bit.
- 49:37Speaker 6: If he's on though, if his game is on, then
- 49:40Speaker 6: he's gonna be worth to pick. But it's a little
- 49:44Speaker 6: bit of a projection of whether or not it's all
- 49:46Speaker 6: going to come together for him.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Brian Flores, you know, throw him in that defense. Be flow,
- 49:51Speaker 3: be flow.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Let's see Chad from Atlanta rights in how serious should
- 49:57Speaker 4: we take the Kyle pitch trade talk. I really like
- 50:00Speaker 4: him and feel his talent has been wasted in Atlanta,
- 50:02Speaker 4: and I think a change of scenery would benefit him
- 50:05Speaker 4: and the Patriots. I know we say this every year,
- 50:07Speaker 4: but if they did trade for him, I could see
- 50:10Speaker 4: Josh going back to that double tight end. Look like
- 50:13Speaker 4: Ronk and Hernanez. They just need to grab the other
- 50:15Speaker 4: piece of that puzzle.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Eli Stower's I don't know, it's some random account reported that.
- 50:21Speaker 3: I haven't seen it from anybody that I.
- 50:23Speaker 6: Would not put my Patriots, No, just on the trade
- 50:26Speaker 6: bock on Genderal.
- 50:27Speaker 3: No, I've seen Kyle Pitts on the trade block, but
- 50:30Speaker 3: like I'm talking about one Patriots.
- 50:32Speaker 4: One side, it was a RANDI to the Patriots.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I personally don't love Kyle Pitts. I think he's been
- 50:38Speaker 3: a tremendous letdown in his career. Well, yeah, but he was.
- 50:42Speaker 3: He was talked about like Cidi, like a freak and
- 50:45Speaker 3: how higher than he talked about. And I just don't
- 50:48Speaker 3: think he's panned out and and people blame it on
- 50:52Speaker 3: everything else in Atlanta, and I you know, I watched
- 50:55Speaker 3: him here last year. I didn't see a lot of
- 50:57Speaker 3: compete in him. Yeah, I haven't been press with him.
- 51:00Speaker 6: I think, you know, if you Kyle Pitts to me
- 51:02Speaker 6: is a slot receiver.
- 51:03Speaker 3: But the numbers aren't bad. I just don't think the
- 51:06Speaker 3: play is as good as the numbers look. Yeah, Kyle
- 51:08Speaker 3: Pitts is a slot receiver. He's a mismatch though.
- 51:10Speaker 6: You know that in that athleticism, he's got mismatched potential.
- 51:14Speaker 6: I mean pairing him with Stowers is like, you know
- 51:17Speaker 6: the Spider Man meme, Like we're just staring at each other.
- 51:19Speaker 6: You know where we look exactly right. You know, if
- 51:22Speaker 6: you're gonna pair Kyle Pitts with somebody, you want to
- 51:24Speaker 6: pair him with the true inline blocker, Like you want
- 51:26Speaker 6: somebody that's going to put his hand in the dirt
- 51:28Speaker 6: and kick out the nine technique, right, Paul, You know
- 51:31Speaker 6: you don't want kick somebody that's going to go and like,
- 51:35Speaker 6: you don't want that, you know, you want somebody like
- 51:38Speaker 6: Julian Hill. Honestly, it would be able to block for
- 51:40Speaker 6: him and Kyle Pitts can just go out there and
- 51:42Speaker 6: catch passes. I would be excited about it just because
- 51:45Speaker 6: of Josh McDaniels. I think McDaniels would know how to
- 51:48Speaker 6: use the mismatch element of Kyle Pitts's game really really well.
- 51:53Speaker 3: But I don't think he's traded. I don't think he's
- 51:55Speaker 3: gonna get moved.
- 51:56Speaker 4: David new Hampshire has a trade idean. I don't know
- 51:58Speaker 4: what to make of this.
- 52:00Speaker 3: The Panthers made their pick, by the way, we'll.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Wait for that for a second.
- 52:03Speaker 4: Okay, what if the Patriots traded thirty one for the
- 52:06Speaker 4: eagles twenty twenty seven first round pick in June, we
- 52:09Speaker 4: trade that pick back to them.
- 52:11Speaker 3: For a j Brown is this draft.
- 52:13Speaker 4: This would solve the issue of not wanting to give
- 52:15Speaker 4: up the twenty seventh capital. Philly gets the first rounder,
- 52:18Speaker 4: and it also commits Philly to following through in June.
- 52:21Speaker 6: So we're trading thirty one this year for their for
- 52:24Speaker 6: their first in twenty twenty seven. So you have an
- 52:27Speaker 6: extra one in twenty twenty seven, and then traded back
- 52:30Speaker 6: to Philly for a J.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Brown.
- 52:31Speaker 5: Right.
- 52:31Speaker 3: That sounds fot of draft day, but that is side right,
- 52:37Speaker 3: I love it. We're going to trade the picks. Oh,
- 52:41Speaker 3: actually we're going to trade him back, right. I don't
- 52:43Speaker 3: want to give up a first round pick for a J.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Brown.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I mean that's you know, I think everybody's just traded
- 52:48Speaker 3: up too. Oh to twenty David Boston.
- 52:51Speaker 6: So the Panthers took Monroe Freelink, tackled from Georgia, one
- 53:00Speaker 6: year starter, not a guy that's played a lot of
- 53:02Speaker 6: college football, but uber talented.
- 53:04Speaker 3: I do like him, you know not. I think Colton
- 53:07Speaker 3: Miller played a little bit more in college than freeling did,
- 53:09Speaker 3: But I they remind me of each other. Extremely athletic.
- 53:13Speaker 3: People really like that. His age.
- 53:15Speaker 6: You know, he's a younger player. He's got a ton
- 53:17Speaker 6: of upside. He just hasn't played a ton. But his
- 53:20Speaker 6: tape last year got better and better and better as
- 53:23Speaker 6: the season war on. I turned on his state early
- 53:26Speaker 6: on in the process, back in February and was like,
- 53:28Speaker 6: forget about this guy. This guy's not making it to
- 53:30Speaker 6: thirty one. Those kind of measurables that athletic profile cross
- 53:35Speaker 6: him off the list. So nineteen sounds about right. So
- 53:38Speaker 6: now Paul, our total tackle tally is.
- 53:41Speaker 5: Up to five.
- 53:43Speaker 6: So I think Ianor and Caleb Lomu are the only
- 53:46Speaker 6: two that are left, which is what everybody thought, you know,
- 53:48Speaker 6: they thought they would be the last two standings. So
- 53:51Speaker 6: it's not looking great, No, it's not.
- 53:54Speaker 3: You know, Dane had Lomo at twenty five and at
- 54:00Speaker 3: thirty three. Yeah, you're so thin, you're gonna get pushed
- 54:04Speaker 3: up now because the tackles of well, I mean he
- 54:07Speaker 3: had let's see, Blake Millery had at twenty nine, so
- 54:10Speaker 3: that's probably a little higher than than he had them.
- 54:13Speaker 3: But the other guys, you know, nineteen seventy's fair.
- 54:18Speaker 5: That's that's his rated guys, that's not his mocked rat.
- 54:21Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I'm not.
- 54:22Speaker 5: That's not where I'm not talking about it.
- 54:24Speaker 3: But that's value, like when someone assigns a value to you.
- 54:27Speaker 3: And again, just because we all think that he does
- 54:29Speaker 3: it really well, doesn't mean he's the Bible. No, I know,
- 54:32Speaker 3: he's not like Joe buschbaumb back in the.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Day remembers not Rich Goss and the Eagles he was
- 54:38Speaker 2: a wide receiver.
- 54:40Speaker 3: MacKaye Lemon, Makayle Lemon at twenty Juillian Edelman. This is
- 54:44Speaker 3: a lot lower, you know, mkayle Lemon. I don't know
- 54:47Speaker 3: if we'd call this a slide, but I thought this
- 54:49Speaker 3: was the back end of his range. I was a
- 54:51Speaker 3: guy I was going to go in the teens.
- 54:53Speaker 5: Uh.
- 54:54Speaker 6: He gets a lot of Aman Ross Saint Brown comparisons.
- 54:57Speaker 6: I didn't see a smaller receiver. But great separation ability
- 55:03Speaker 6: for that size, great toughness, gritty player, very productive at
- 55:07Speaker 6: USC last year. I love Makayle Lemon players in the draft.
- 55:13Speaker 6: He's just got that dog in him.
- 55:14Speaker 3: He's just want to him too, you know it, just
- 55:18Speaker 3: with this toughness and great and that's but I mean
- 55:21Speaker 3: Saint Brown obviously, that's that's that's that's good too. What
- 55:26Speaker 3: did he he did something with members?
- 55:28Speaker 2: He just got up there and he was staring at
- 55:30Speaker 2: the camera and he kind of looked like he was
- 55:31Speaker 2: hitting on it.
- 55:32Speaker 3: I knew there was a thing.
- 55:34Speaker 5: It was.
- 55:34Speaker 3: It was it was literally wind, yeah, it was.
- 55:37Speaker 6: This is this is a pick by the Eagles, Right,
- 55:40Speaker 6: So the Eagles just took a wide receiver.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, right, No, no, no, I mean, there can't
- 55:44Speaker 3: be any clearer that A J. Brown is not.
- 55:47Speaker 11: Drive A J.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Brown. Did the Eagles take they took they took a receiver.
- 55:53Speaker 6: Uh So they have traded for D'artavian Wicks, They've signed
- 55:57Speaker 6: Hollywood Brown, They've signed Elijah Moore, and they have now
- 55:59Speaker 6: draft mikay Lem.
- 56:00Speaker 3: They've acquired so many expans that they're probably not all
- 56:03Speaker 3: going to make the team.
- 56:04Speaker 6: So, I mean, if we didn't, I don't know how
- 56:07Speaker 6: much more we have to go, Like this is happening.
- 56:10Speaker 4: A Brown is being traded and the deal is consummated,
- 56:15Speaker 4: because right now, like if you're the if the deal
- 56:17Speaker 4: wasn't like you know, gentlemen's agreement, if you're the Patriots, like, well,
- 56:22Speaker 4: now we got them, they have to.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Get rid of Well that's my whole thing. Ford through
- 56:25Speaker 3: this whole thing.
- 56:25Speaker 2: It's like leverage, and it's just you know, the Patriots
- 56:27Speaker 2: are they going to be forced because they know the
- 56:30Speaker 2: Eagles know how much the Patriots want them that you know,
- 56:33Speaker 2: we're just gonna wait until you have to give us
- 56:35Speaker 2: a first Like this to me may give the Patriots
- 56:37Speaker 2: a little bit more.
- 56:40Speaker 3: The leverage could go the other way though, if the
- 56:42Speaker 3: Patriots don't take a receiver like they've already banked on
- 56:46Speaker 3: they're making this trade for a J. Brown. Now, I
- 56:48Speaker 3: think you're probably right, Fred, like everybody's been saying for months,
- 56:52Speaker 3: well at least six weeks or so, that they probably
- 56:56Speaker 3: have a gentleman's agreement trade already in the works and
- 56:59Speaker 3: they know what what it's going to be. They're just
- 57:01Speaker 3: waiting for June first.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Like a hypothetical though, Like let's just say the Patriots
- 57:04Speaker 2: love my guy, Denzel Boston and they don't think he's
- 57:07Speaker 2: going to be there, but now he is there and
- 57:09Speaker 2: now they take him.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Does that all of a sudden we we got to
- 57:12Speaker 3: find another partner? Now you know that? Was that a
- 57:14Speaker 3: Patriots leverage if they still wanted to trade for A J. Brown?
- 57:18Speaker 3: Now I don't have to make this trade. Yeah, I
- 57:21Speaker 3: got my guy.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but if you have the agreement, you can't screw
- 57:25Speaker 4: another team. What do you say, like we didn't think
- 57:30Speaker 4: the agreement. You don't want to because you never know,
- 57:32Speaker 4: Like I don't.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Come back to I don't trust. I'm with Evan. I
- 57:36Speaker 3: think Howie Roseman would do it to spite you think so?
- 57:39Speaker 3: Now if he hasn't, if they have an agreement already
- 57:42Speaker 3: in place. That's different.
- 57:43Speaker 4: But Russell and Florida wants to know. Do you think
- 57:46Speaker 4: a trade with Cleveland is in play? They clearly are
- 57:49Speaker 4: wanting to acquire more picks. Plus we could jump Buffalo
- 57:52Speaker 4: in Miami.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Coming up here for a second. I just I don't
- 57:58Speaker 3: know who they're who you're trading up for now.
- 58:00Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, maybe one of the tackles, like if
- 58:02Speaker 6: you want to get a e on a chore or lomu.
- 58:06Speaker 3: But I'll tell you how upset that would make me. Yeah,
- 58:07Speaker 3: not only we're trading for a project tackle, but we're
- 58:10Speaker 3: trading up to do it. Yeah, that's how I feel
- 58:12Speaker 3: about that. I don't know, I haven't even done it.
- 58:15Speaker 3: I thought he was talking about trading.
- 58:17Speaker 6: I thought you're just talking about trading down with the
- 58:19Speaker 6: Eagles or the Browns. Excuse me at nine. That's true,
- 58:23Speaker 6: But I don't know that all up. But I know, well,
- 58:25Speaker 6: they also are picking again here in the twenties, So
- 58:27Speaker 6: I didn't know which way he was talking about, But
- 58:29Speaker 6: I with the Browns going down to the Patriots would
- 58:33Speaker 6: probably want to go. I thought we were talking about up,
- 58:35Speaker 6: so maybe we might have been, But I don't know
- 58:37Speaker 6: what the Browns are coming up for. If we're talking about,
- 58:40Speaker 6: you know, them trading up for something with thirty one.
- 58:44Speaker 6: You know, I actually would be pretty surprised that the
- 58:47Speaker 6: Patriots can trade out at this point, now that that
- 58:49Speaker 6: Ty Simpson went as high as he did, Like, I
- 58:51Speaker 6: just what's left to really want to trade up for
- 58:54Speaker 6: unless you're really desperate for one of those two tackles.
- 58:57Speaker 3: Kind of seem that way, like the only object of
- 59:00Speaker 3: desire trading up desire is a quarterback, right and he's gone.
- 59:04Speaker 2: So I mean, could you say maybe Concepcion maybe, I mean,
- 59:07Speaker 2: that's the only guy left that I feel like gott
- 59:10Speaker 2: to have him. I mean, unless you the only thing
- 59:11Speaker 2: is the tackle is right, you know, there's two more
- 59:14Speaker 2: tackles after that the tackle, one of which is not
- 59:17Speaker 2: going to be able to play right away.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but the tackle cliff is is and the other
- 59:20Speaker 3: one you don't.
- 59:21Speaker 6: Like, we are pushing it off the cliff after that,
- 59:23Speaker 6: right that, Yes, but we're pushing it off the cliff
- 59:26Speaker 6: at that point. So if you're one of these teams
- 59:28Speaker 6: that's like, we need to get a starting caliber tackle,
- 59:31Speaker 6: even if it's not right away. The guy has traits
- 59:33Speaker 6: to be a starter.
- 59:34Speaker 3: Yeah, wait, this is it. This is the run.
- 59:37Speaker 6: So if that's what you're looking for, then maybe that
- 59:40Speaker 6: would entice a team to trade back up. But if
- 59:42Speaker 6: that tackle, if Janator is still sitting there at thirty one,
- 59:45Speaker 6: I'd be pretty surprised at the Patriots passed.
- 59:47Speaker 3: So if that's you know, are you.
- 59:50Speaker 5: All because Rabel laid hands them? Yes?
- 59:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think that.
- 59:55Speaker 4: Sam and Mariland writes in Draft Show Fred in full form,
- 59:59Speaker 4: the guys discussing the Eagle selecting wide receiver Lemon for
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: several minutes, Fred says, wait, who would draft? Wayne says
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: we've been lied to. I cannot believe y' all lied
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: to us about your The kids of the podcast who
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: said that the four of you look like you went
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: to high school together, four old dads around a barbecue.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: Now evan getting lumped into.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Four old dads.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: We consider we consider Duce a part of the kids.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: The kids.
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: The kids are Me, Alex Mattise, Chris Cassidy and then
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: usually we can.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: It's when you and I can do the show the kids.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: We usually we fair enough.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: The age level goes way down, Deuce is.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Like it might Yeah, funk, I like that I'm not
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: one of the kids, especially after the birthday is celebrated
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: last week.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: I'm definitely has that salt and pepper hair, like the
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: gray hair might.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Be white, but Deuce is the funkle. And then you
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: know where the kids and like you know, the parents
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: are gone for the weekend, but we invite the uncle
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: over right, Well, Chris Cassidy is like the kid. I
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: feel like he's the only one of us who legitimately
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: feels like Cassidy was born.
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: I believe after the Patriots won their first Super Bowl,
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: like he was not alive for Super Bowl thirty six
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: are pretty close to it.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: If not.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Barton Poland not gonna lie love the Dolphins pick. I
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: know it's helmet scouting, but the latest history of their
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: tackles getting taken is rough.
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: J C.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Latham, Evan Neil, Alex Leatherwood, Jedrick Wills, Jonah Williams also
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: very happy that Baine.
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: Those guys weren't taken by the Dolphins.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Those are giants. I think jac Lathan went was is
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: a Titan. He was drafted by the Titans. I don't
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: understand Leatherwood was the Raiders, right, Yeah, the Raiders I
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: don't know. Maybe they're regime no, because that guy was
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: in Green Bay. I miss I miss sorry, But it's
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: just funny though, the number of tweets now that are
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: just like A J. Brown, you are a patriot. I mean, yeah,
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: it's just I don't know how much more I don't know.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I mean, I can I have the little fun with
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: that for I mean, that's gonna be pretty cool if
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: he does end up here like, that's just you know,
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: it's just some concerns and you've gotten on.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: I always like so, you always like you for calling
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: him in Tony. There's nothing more prevalent then Mike do
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: So is utter disdain for the Diva number one X.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: He's my de This is the one that I make it.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I hate it. Ever, we have to have two years
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: in a row that suddenly Mike is embracing well, all right,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: last year was hard for me.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Last year was such a heel turn I had to make,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: but I liked making it because I thought they say great.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: But A J.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Brown has always been a guy that I loved. And
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: if this was T. Higgins, yeah I might not be
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: quite as excited. But I've always just loved AJ Brown.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: He's my kind of guy. I love, you know, big, physical,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: catching run kind of a guy.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: A lot of aj brown I think, y see. All right.

- 1:06:25Speaker 3: on the Patriots Unfiltered Draft Extravaganza will be here until
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: the end.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: Of the first round.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: It's Fred Curis, Paul Pirillo, Evan Lazarre, Mike Tussou and
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: the Steelers just picked the guy that Rabel worked out.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Yeah one on one, Yeah, Maxionics.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: A lot of people thought the Patriots might take him.
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: I think he was probably throughout the entire process the
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: most popular mock drafted player for the Patriots at thirty one,
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: Maxiana chor So, if we were all right, all the
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: prognos de caturs, all the media was correct that they
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: really liked this kid, and you know, obviously a guy
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: that they probably had pretty high on their board. He's
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: got some development to do, you know, he's late to football.
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: He moved to the United States at thirteen years old
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: from Nigeria and didn't start playing football until Juco. Actually,
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: he was an AAU basketball player, really good basketball player,
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: and his AAU coach said, hey, have you ever heard
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: of American football?
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: And he was like, no, what the heck is that?
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: And so he ended up playing you know, JUCO for
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: a couple of years and then he obviously ended up
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: at Arizona State. The tape that got him drafted in
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: the first round was against Texas Tech. He kind of
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: shut down David Bailey in that game and that really
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: put him on the radar for everybody as a potential
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: first round prospect, and his pre draft process, that classic riser,
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: like that arrow, just went up and up and.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Up and up.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: You know, Senior Bowl, top competition games, last year, Combine,
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: you know, great workout at the Combine, and people or
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: just you know, just skyrocketed all the way up to
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: twenty one twenty twenty.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Just shows you how the league values tackles.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: I mean, and you know the people who are like, oh,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: it'd be crazy to take a tackle right, you know,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: down twenty one.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Yeah, this is it. I mean, these guys are going
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: to go and you got a chance at one. You
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: got to take one. If wanted to fall into the Patriots,
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: they would have been lucky. So now we get to
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: the whole tackle crunch and do you have to trade
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: up to get I know, Evan probably wouldn't be in
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: favor of that. Do you have to trade up? There's
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: only one really left, one first round projection tackle left
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: and Lomo. Do you have to trade up to get them?
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: And do you want to do that? I don't think
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I mean, I don't they love them, you know, and
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know if they do. At this point,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: I don't know how many more trade ups they are
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: going to be. I mean that's a big gap to
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: try to have a guy fall ten more pick right,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I mean from my eye, it's like they're all kind
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: of the same right now. So you're going to give
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: up more draft capital to go up and get a
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: guy that maybe you're unsure of just because you need
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: the position.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: That sounds like no, I'm missing it.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: If you're moving up, you're not unsure of him, Yeah,
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: you're you're sure in your draft room.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: You're sure of him, Yeah, I he to me. I
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: think the things with lomu U.
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: I still think he's a developmental player. I still think
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: he's got work to do. Similar to Ianachor. I don't
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: know if I'm I'm thinking that he's going to start
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: right out of the shoot. He probably doesn't have to hear.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: So maybe you have that luxury.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: But what I really was questioning with him is just
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: his grit and his finishing ability and his power in
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: the run game. And they ran an offense at Utah
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: that was a little a little gimmicky, a little collegey.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: There was a lot of misdirection and motion in the
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: backfield and a lot of eye candy and triple option stuff,
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: and it just wasn't an NFL Pro style offense. So
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: I think there's a lot of development there. And then
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: you know another guy off the board for the Patriots
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: here with.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Edge. He's thirty five years old, he's still got.
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: Twenty five years older, and he's had an injury history.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: But there there was when you watch the two guys
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: at Miami, Ruben Band and the Key Mesidor, it was
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: kind of hard to figure out which one was which.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: That's why they were in the National Championship. Kind of Yeah,
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: I'm opposite of you, but I like both of these
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: guys a lot, a lot. That's why they were there.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: They would dominate. Yeah, I'm telling you.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: I mean, when you watch the tape of these that
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Miami defense, you had to make a point to be like, wait,
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: which one's messador and which one's band because Mesidor would
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: show up on the film just as much as Baine would.
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: He's got inside out ability, is.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Both of the quarterback every play. Yeah, he's a monster.
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: And what I liked so much about him was just
- 1:10:40Speaker 6: his downhill till like he as soon as he was
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: off the ball, he was like shot like a cannon.
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: Great like speed to power, conversion and physicality off the ball. Uh,
- 1:10:49Speaker 6: he has some inside out flexibility, like I do. Think
- 1:10:52Speaker 6: you can move him inside and at the three technique
- 1:10:54Speaker 6: and rush him over the guard and on third down.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: He is a fun, fun player.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Literally.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: The only thing against him is that he's twenty five,
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: which is not a little thing, but it's you know
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: that there was nothing wrong with the tape.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: The tape was was great.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: He seemed like a veriable guy to me, and I
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: didn't even care about the age, Like if he had
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: fallen into thirty one, I would not have been a
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: post to that. I didn't think he was going to
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: but I he jumped out to me too.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: All right. So that was the twenty second pick. Dallas
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: is on the clock.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: We pick up the pace a little bit. It seems like.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: Little commercial they have to catch up. Now they're at
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: commercial again. But uh yeah, the Cowboys are on the
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: clock with twenty three, so we're getting closer to thirty one.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: We are, Yeah, I just like I echo Evans point.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Can can they trade out? Is there an offer to
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: trade out? Is there anyone worth trading up from another team?
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Another team loves the guy like you said, Fred, I
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I mean you loved me and you all. McNeil Warren,
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: I mean yeah.
- 1:11:46Speaker 6: Both safeties are both safeties doing Dynamon and McNeil Warren.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: This is I think we're in uh a little bit
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: of slide territory right now. With Dynaman.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: I thought he would be in the ten to twenty range,
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: and he got out of the top twenty, so he's
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: in that category.
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:12:01Speaker 6: Then when you get down to it, though, I think
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: we're starting to get to the group that we sort
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: of expected, you know, Denzel Boston, I was just gonna ask.
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: A surprise that only three wide receivers have gone.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: So no, no, and I actually thought Lemon went a
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: little bit late. But you know, Denzel Boston, Casey concepciowned,
- 1:12:19Speaker 6: Caden McDonald, Cashus, Howell, Zion Young, Like these are the
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: guys that we all we talked about for four months,
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: you know, like this is the group and that's where
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: we're at.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Would you guys be at all interested in sort of
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: a different outside the box position, you know, like a
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: McCoy at corner or something like that, just in terms
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: of the maybe the value being. You know, I know
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: he's got some he had so he didn't play. He
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: didn't play at all last year. No, I know the story,
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: but yeah, I don't like is he good enough that
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: you're like he's I can't like this guy's too good. Yeah,
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: I know that's that's No. I worry a lot about
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: this story with him.
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: So he had a a c L at the end
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: of twenty twenty four or and he couldn't get back
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: on the field for twenty twenty five at any point,
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: So he didn't play a single game last year at
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: Tennessee in twenty twenty five.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Then throughout the process they.
- 1:13:09Speaker 6: Found out that he had like some he had like
- 1:13:11Speaker 6: a filling in his knee cap or something like that,
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: like some sort of knee filling thing and like yeah
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: and no, like they plugged it. They plugged it in
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: his knee, and then they found out that that's also
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: no good.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: So his knee is like not in So you're not
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: buying the reports that he's you know one, right, So.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: He had a he had a workout for teams, but
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: you know, he just ran on air and you know,
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: like there wasn't actually in a you know, any sort
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: of football setting. I just think that there is like
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: real degenerative knee issues with that that could be.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I feel bad about the guy. I was just from
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: from that perspective is that, you know, it's my favorite
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: prospect of the draft because I know nothing about him.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: But I happened to just walk in, uh to the
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: bullpen one day and Evan's watching tape rind and he's
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: got grinding, He's got some random safety from Toledo on there,
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: a warring guy, and I'm just like, good, what are
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: you doing. I just looked at him and I started
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: yelling at him, well, there another guy, like, is there
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: an argument to be made? I don't really need this.
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: Absolutely I think there's absolutely an argument to be made
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: for him. He might be the best player available. He's
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: a little bit different than the safeties that they have
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: on the roster right now. When you think of like
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: Bayered and Craig Woodson, you think of guys that want
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: to play more in the deep part ball hawking ability.
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: He has a little bit of that, But I think
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: that he's going to be you know, nick Ammon Warry
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: two point zero. I think he's going to be a
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: guy that's going to play closer to the line of scrimmage,
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: down in the slot, down in the box, roving, you know,
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: at the second level of the defense. He's he's a
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: really fun player. He has some range, and he's got length,
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: and he's got open tackling, you know, field tackling ability.
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: I mean, look, I could, you know, I just did.
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: I could gush about him. He's a really, really good player,
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: and if they picked him, you know, I wouldn't be
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: that surprised. We've talked a lot about the fact that
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: you know, Kevin Byard's long in the tooth. That's a
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: that's a short time, not a long time proposition with him.
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: And I think that McNeil Warren is a little bit
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: different that he could play as a rookie in a
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: specialized role and then maybe take over for Buyer in
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: twenty twenty seven if they don't want to, you know,
- 1:15:18Speaker 6: keep the thing.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Going with Bayered. We got a Dallas going with another
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: player on defense. It was a little bit not a
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: total surprise. No, yeah, mala Ky Lawrence. You know they
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: he was Lawrence.
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: He was another guy that just has skyrocketed through the
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: pre draft process. You know, had a great combine workout.
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: You dig into his film a little bit more, you
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: see some skill, You see some nuance to his past rush.
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: You obviously see athleticism, twitch range. You know, another guy
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: that's got great closing speed and burst to the quarterback
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: and to the ball in general. You know, maybe not
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: the most sturdy run defender. I think he's got to
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: work on that a little bit. But you know, they
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: say it on NFL Network that the potential on the
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: upside with him is what everybody loves. He's got immense
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: potential out of this group the Howls, the Parkers, the Youngs.
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: A lot of people thought that he had the highest
- 1:16:10Speaker 6: ceiling out of all those players.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: You know, we'll see if he hits it. But he's
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: a fun player to watch.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: So that was the Cowboys. Cleveland is up next with
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: the twenty fourth pick. We are moving a little bit here.
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: The Browns pick is in as well. Oh well they
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: picked sorry Fred, Casey Conceptsion goes to Cleveland. Oh man,
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: oh well, I never bought There was a lot of
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: rumors recent rumors this week that Casey Conceptsion might fall
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: out of the first round.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: I never bought it. I didn't see it.
- 1:16:43Speaker 6: I was like, this guy's way too talented, way too
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: good of a separator, way too explosive. Like there's just
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: those types of guys that have that, you know, trifecta
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: of separation ability, explosiveness with the ball in their hands,
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: and big playability. Like those guys don't last very long,
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: you know. And then he did it at a really
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: big school and gets great competition.
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: So Paul, your guy's still there. Cassius Howard Howell deuces
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: your person.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Boston, Boston. But that was Yeah, we're talking about
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: no it.
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: Was Blake Blake, Okay, but your guy's going to right Evan.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Evan just wanted to trade down on the table right now,
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: fires upon the table for anybody.
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: So Paul still has this guy, so he gets more points.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: If his guys goes, we get to re re repick.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Okay, what do you want to take? Kid McDonald Ohio
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: State defensive tackle.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: Okay, because I think.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: There's some of these guys are going to go. But
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: I mean, for me right now, it's all in the
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: category of like, too good of a player to plug
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: right in right in the rotation. I don't think Boston because.
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: Of he's an interior run stuff. He's not gonna bring
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: much in the pass rush. But the one thing I
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: do like about McDonald's is that he's at least complimentary
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: to Milton Williams and Christian Barmore, similarly to how Tonga
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: was complimentary last year, where there's a role for him,
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: Like you can see forty percent of the snaps the
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: Tonga's role that he Tongo played last year. It unlocks
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: Milton Williams to just hunt the football and you know,
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: penetrate in the backfield. It doesn't force Barmore to play
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: the nose, which I don't really think is his natural position.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: I can see the fit in the role. I'm not
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: usually super gung ho about run stuffing nose tackles in
- 1:18:35Speaker 6: the first round, but at least with him, there's a
- 1:18:38Speaker 6: clear path.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, makes plays too, and I mean he
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: just kind of fits the mold of what do you
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: have the guy? Freddy?
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna move off wide receiver since my guy's gone,
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: and I'm gonna go to edge.
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Keldric fulk Fuck Okay.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: I don't like that one for us. You don't like him,
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: not They don't like Keldrick fun The boys don't like that.
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: Why not?
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Very stiff, not not a not a very good pass rusher.
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: I I g at this page. You know, he's probably
- 1:19:04Speaker 6: a better run defender. He's the guy that's you know,
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: BIGS thirty. If they were still in the Belichick defense
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: and they were a three four n team and they
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: were looking for guys that were going to play like
- 1:19:13Speaker 6: over the tackle five technique and you know, lock out
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: and two gap and hold the point and all that
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: kind of stuff, then he would be on the list
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: for sure. But since they want their guys to play
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: outside the tackles and you know, might rush the pass
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: or more stop the run on the way that to
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: me doesn't really it is not Keldric Falk style.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: Okay, well we'll say we'll see, we'll see, we'll see
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: about all right, the pick is in for the Browns.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't see who they've that's casey.
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: They took concepts. Yeah yeah, all right, next uff is
- 1:19:46Speaker 5: after that Chicago.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Them Buffalo, which is that's gonna be an interesting defense,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: don't you think. Yeah, I've seen some speculation that actually
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: John from uh from the from the What the Worts
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: General doing a sports journel here he thought the Keldric
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: Fox could go to Chicago here, John, Yes, thank you, Okay,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: all right, we got shouldar, I think should have been
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: taking some reps and we got Deshaun Watson back in
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: the mix, and that the circus continues.
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: I think it would be an unbelievable story if Deshaun
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: Watson ends up being their starting quarterback.
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: This year, right, I mean unbelievable in like a gross way, right,
- 1:20:26Speaker 6: just like you know, like, but I think I probably
- 1:20:29Speaker 6: shouldn't like as.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: In a stunning way. Yeah, I don't think anybody would
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: have predicted that he would quarterback again. Incorrect.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Don't call it a comeback, all right?
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: I mean, are you just as morally outraged that Tyreek
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Hill played for Miami last year? Like a little bit
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: like this one is? Because if I'm going to be
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: morally outraged, and Fred will tell you this, I wouldn't
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: be able to be a GM because I wouldn't have
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: any of these guys on my team. But like they're
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: talking about half the league, you kind of have those.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: I I'm really interested though in Buffalo what direction they go?
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: I think Boston could be should be a consideration for them.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: But is he, you know, too much like their other
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: guy they just took, you know, or Mark Cooper junr
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Is that like? Is he too much like Shaqui too much?
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: Like maybe a little bit more size. I think he's
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: probably better.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's not a lot of options really for
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: to get Josh Allen some help. I don't feel like
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: in this area unless they really believe in Boston. But
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: I think then you're Boston.
- 1:21:25Speaker 6: I think the issue that they have with Boston and
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: this is how you should draft. But the Keon Coleman
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: vibes are.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: There, and if you're a Buffalo fan, it's kind of
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: like the Patriots with Nikhil Harry, like you're gonna do
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: that again, Like it is a little bit scary for
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: that reason. If they like them, they're absolutely scary for
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: that reason if you're Buffalo.
- 1:21:43Speaker 6: If you if you like them, though, that you shouldn't
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: let the fan, you know, Casey's excuse me, Keon Coleman
- 1:21:50Speaker 6: PTSD be the reason why you don't draft them, right,
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: but that that would worry me. But a lot of
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: people in Buffalo think they're going edge rusher with this pick.
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: So might be another team that would be kicking the
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: tires on one of these edge guys. You know, they
- 1:22:04Speaker 6: are another four to three team. Well, I don't know
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: what they're gonna be now. I guess they're changing, right,
- 1:22:08Speaker 6: so I think they're going to be more of an
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: odd front team now. So maybe they're a fall team,
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: Maybe they're a Parker team, a young team.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: You know, I don't know.
- 1:22:15Speaker 6: I don't know exactly what their scheme is going to
- 1:22:17Speaker 6: look like.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: Interesting decision.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: Okay, so Concepcium's gone, Chicago's on the clock. I think
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: they're gonna go defense. Then they're followed by Buffalo. So
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: I mean, you know, whoever gets drafted by then that's you.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to hate that unfortionately fair enough.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: The Browns, ever, think actually getting a real logo. They
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: just keep rolling this helmet, this orange helmet out, Like.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: What that's what they do?
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: I mean, what is a brown like?
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: You know marker Paul Brown?
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: I know, but like I get a picture of Paul.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: This is our helmet, right, what's what's your maskot? This
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: is our helmet, But what's your mascot? It's a helmet.
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we have dogs too. Dogs are brown of the time.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Spike moves those Paul Brown, you know, getting let go
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: by the Browns and then going to start the expansion
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Bengals and just the same exact uniforms. Were just gonna
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: write Bengals.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: On the side.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: It's got those tiger stripes. Good, oh god, you like
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: I like those? You know, the white ones are good too.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Anyway, you can tell it's getting ten thirty and I
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: were starting to get a little punchy here with uniform talks.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Sorry, Paul, Yeah, take you down that dark road. I
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: know you're not not a fan of that, but how
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: late it is. Well, I get a little, I get
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: a little uniform.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Barton Poland has a clarification. He was talking about Miami
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: taking tackles. Yea, he meant to say the history Alabama
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: tackles take.
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: Bless you.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: The Alabama tackles are Alabama tackle curse.
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: Yeah he listed them all. Yeah, that was the list.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: They're a little hot and cold. Yeah, okay, yeah, I
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: mean leather Leatherwood was one of the all time busts, right,
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: the Raiders took ye to.
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: Be fair at the Leatherwood. He was overdrafted by the
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: Raiders and that wasn't like totally his fault, but.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, but you can still play well.
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: Yeah, but he was overdrafted by like a full round,
- 1:24:10Speaker 6: maybe a round and a half. Like if he was
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: like a third round pick, would we talk about him
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: as like one of the best biggest busts in the
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: last you know, decade, No whatever it was.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: Yea, all right, but that makes more sense. I'm glad
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: to clarified here. The Chicago pick is, we're at the
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: twenty fifth pick, Buffalo. I'm dying here.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: More furniture totally, a lot of emails I haven't read
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: about furniture.
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: By the way, its funny how there's always one topic and.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: Dana Poughkeepsie thinks the ottoman is flexible and durable. It's
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: a stud when you use them. It's so abstract that
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: it's cool. Twelve personnel with the ottoman all day.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: Kind of a good weapon for Josh, like he could
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: move the autumn around, put in different spots.
- 1:24:54Speaker 6: So we considered the ottoman, but we went with like
- 1:24:58Speaker 6: reclining furniture instead because then it's like then it retracts
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: into itself, so it's not in the like an ottoman
- 1:25:04Speaker 6: then like lives in the middle of your room, and it's.
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: Kind of let's be fair, let's be safe.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: You can go in the seventh round and get yourself
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: just a little Apple box car for five bucks, and
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: that's going to do the same job the ottoman did ultimately,
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: so it's you know, it's not the same vicinity for me.
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: Yeah, we got who's emmanual Nick McNeil Warren.
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: So they did go who picked him? Chicago? Oh, I thought.
- 1:25:31Speaker 6: You just said my guy, went, I said your Oregon
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: safety went, Oh, I thought you said my safe. So
- 1:25:36Speaker 6: they put Dylan Dylanman. So this is I would put
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: this in a in the category of a of a
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: slide a little bit here with Dylan Thamon. I thought
- 1:25:45Speaker 6: he'd go like ten picks higher than this. But I
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: think they moved on from Brisker right in Chicago, and
- 1:25:50Speaker 6: and so this makes some sense for them to get
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: a safety here and our guy fired. Yeah, I mean
- 1:25:56Speaker 6: he was, oh right, yeah, his his hips, his coverage ability. Uh,
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: he's got some smooth movement, man. I mean he's really
- 1:26:05Speaker 6: really smooth, really fluid. Can play at different levels of
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: the defense. He plays like a really good robber at
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: the second level of the defense, but it can also
- 1:26:13Speaker 6: play over the top.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: I love his tape. I thought he would picture him
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: so he'd like that one. He looks.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: Seems like it fell well for them. I mean they
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: signed Cam Lewis and Kobe Bryant or that, you know.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: I mean, Kobe Bryan's a good players now, you know,
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: pare him. That's his free agency signing. So it's, uh,
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: the Bears another team to me, that stacking talent like
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: they got, you.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: Know, you just got to make it. I mean, I mean,
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: I mean they lost an overtime in the divisional round.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: I mean it's.
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: Text inllustrated with the Bills here, so that really the
- 1:26:44Speaker 6: Texans are now on the clock, and Buffalo moved back
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: a couple of spots, so.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: This is obviously they didn't love the wide receivers. Yeah,
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: maybe this's the other safety.
- 1:26:53Speaker 6: Tackle and then they go lomu here they need some
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: offensive line help. I mean, I don't know how much
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: many eggs They're still continuing to put in Trent Brown's
- 1:27:02Speaker 6: basket just for him to quit right before a playoff game.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: So how many more times are we going to do that?
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: That was right out of the twenty eight I saw
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: I saw walking off the field of the game and like, yeah,
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: not today. I'm sorry.
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. In
- 1:27:21Speaker 6: the playoff game, he went through an on field work
- 1:27:24Speaker 6: out way to.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Compete, was moving just fine, but Danny and Tomlinson was embarrassed.
- 1:27:28Speaker 6: Yeah, and then all of a sudden, you get the program,
- 1:27:31Speaker 6: you know, get the inactives, and they're like, yeah, Trent,
- 1:27:33Speaker 6: Trent's not.
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: Playing TRENTONR And I was like, what do you what
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: do you mean? And then they're moving.
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: They moved like three people to accommodate the fact that
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: Trent Brown couldn't play, and you know, obviously the five
- 1:27:45Speaker 6: turnovers later and they're going home, Like I wonder if they,
- 1:27:50Speaker 6: you know, take the last tackle here just because they
- 1:27:53Speaker 6: they've got it at some point move on from the
- 1:27:56Speaker 6: from Trenton for.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: You if they did take long here.
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: Being please somebody take I do not want to be wrong.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: So the Bills moved up significantly to drop down two spots.
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: They get sixty nine. Nice, they give up ninety one,
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: so that's a pretty good. Uh, they got sixty nine
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: and one sixty seven to give up twenty six and
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: ninety one, so that kind of spot pikes there. Yeah,
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: in the middle. Yeah, select Dylanman.
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: Amanda and Brad from Adelaide Australia Rights and Deuce.
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: You're hilarious. He really is out of nowhere.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: The Browns ever thought about getting a real logo and
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: fred a day bed slash. Shay's Lounge must is a
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: must have furniture item.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: The shay'se Lounge I find overrated controversial take here, Yeah,
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: I agree, not need and I had one.
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: Didn't get a couch.
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: It was it was really good. It was not only
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: a Shay's lounge, but it had a recliner element to
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: it as well. It was very comfortable. I found it
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: difficult to get in and out. Yeah, it's like a
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: better because I'm fat. It wasn't don't be a jerky
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: not anymore. Now you're now, you're sprightly, all right, jumping
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: I toltally. I feel like I'm putting putting it back on.
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Watch get you back on that.
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: Notice you're part taking more and more on my leftover.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: You know, one for observes. That's not wrong, that's not wrong.
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: I have I don't think the one leftover Fred Chicken.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: I have a chicken tender almost every time you offer it.
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: Now I see the gleat.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: That's probably that's why I'm losing weight because I usually
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: get to know I only get one left over Fred
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Chicken fingers.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: Dylan the man, you know, bring some swag. I like it.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: I really like super Yeah, very athletic player, just really
- 1:29:51Speaker 6: smooth and coverage. Like I said, he played all over
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: that secondary for Oregon, different levels of the defense. I'm
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: surprised he last this long. You know, I don't know
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: what that's all about. He's going to be a good player.
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: And now the Dolphins traded with the Texans. The Texans
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: traded back out of the pick, So I don't know,
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Like it says trader Nicky at it again, maybe it's
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: two different trades. I don't know.
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: So I think we have the Texans pick and maybe
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: the Texans that took somebody to take an offensive line
- 1:30:19Speaker 6: and it was not Caleb Blomu. The Texans have taken
- 1:30:22Speaker 6: Kaylan Rutledge from Georgia Tech. Another another just angry, put
- 1:30:30Speaker 6: dudes in the ground type of player. I have some
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: concerns about him in past protection. But if you're trying
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: to get more physical, you're trying to run the ball,
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: this guy can really really run.
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: You want to be more physical on the offensive line,
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: get physical players.
- 1:30:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean he can really really run block and
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: he just like sets a tone. He's gonna be one
- 1:30:49Speaker 6: of those guys that's gonna just you know, he's going
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: to have like a tone setting presence to him to
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: your offensive line. But watching him run block, I mean
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: he runs the gamut a the different things that he
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: can do. He can reach, he can climb to the
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: second level, he can pull, he can create displacement on
- 1:31:06Speaker 6: double teams.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: Uh, he's a really good run blocker. He's going to
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: be a fun player.
- 1:31:11Speaker 6: I don't know, you know, the pass protection, I had
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: some question marks, you know, the movement, the side to
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: side movement, a little bit higher, plays a little bit
- 1:31:18Speaker 6: upright in his past that gives up some ground to
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: the bull rush.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: But I think as a run blocker, he's just dynamite.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: I caught a little of the I think they had
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: the Texans Patriots playoff game back on. I was just
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: really not disappointed at him, but I was just surprised
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: at how bad CJ.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: Stroud looked. And I know he was like under duress
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: and all that, but I just was so impressive. I know,
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: that's as bad as a quarterback. Yeah, that was That
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: wasn't all that dissimilar to that Jets guy who was
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: so bad. I can't even remember who it was. I
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: don't know that guy. There was a play he got sacked.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: The Dolphins are on that game, and like the radio call,
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: Bob soci almost sounded like he felt bad for him.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: He goes and he goes down again. It was like
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: he felt bad for him, Like the guy was so
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: old mad. Why can't I not remember who that was?
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: It was two years ago, right, I think it was
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: two years ago in the playoffs with him. I don't
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: know if that was his first time in the playoffs
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: CJ Stroud, but I just really.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: Impressed with him. I thought he's great toughness, he was fantastic.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: And then his Brady Cook, pretty cook, Brady Cook. He
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: was bad.
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but I just really fell off and a
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: little bit of like a caution, took my medicine.
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: I was talking CJ. Stroud up and the listeners were
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: all over me. I got to take my medicine. He
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: was terrible and yeah, so just to uh So the.
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: Forty nine Ers and the Dolphins just traded. So the
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: Dolphins are now on the clock. Now these teams are
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: only moving a couple of spots, but we're only talking
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: about pick swaps right now, like.
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: Twenty seven and they got ninety, yeah to go up
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: three spots, so they went.
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: The Niners are getting thirty and ninety, the Dolphins are
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: getting twenty seven and one thirty eight. So what one
- 1:32:56Speaker 6: thirty eight is coming back? So if you're talking about
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: the Patriots trading out tonight moving back to you know,
- 1:33:01Speaker 6: four or five spots right now, you're not even You're
- 1:33:04Speaker 6: just swapping picks.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not.
- 1:33:06Speaker 6: You're not actually adding any picks for most of these trades.
- 1:33:09Speaker 6: I like the swaps though. I think it's smart, Like
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: you don't necessarily need all these extra picks, So we
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: just wonder what.
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: The moving up to take a guard? Laughing? Right, are
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: we not laughing at the Texans?
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: I really like that player. Here's the thing. I don't
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: like the pick. I understand the Texans are badly in
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: need of offensive linemen. I do think it's a little
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: different year to year. Like I don't think it's the
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: same every year. This is a bad draft class. So
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: if he's one of the best players available, I mean,
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: I find that.
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: Hard to believe you have to move up to get
- 1:33:46Speaker 5: a guard.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but like Kevin just said, you moved up like
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: two spots and you swap picks in like no rounds.
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: It's not like you gave anything up to do it.
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: I mean, they thrown a lot of out of picks
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: at the wide receiver position. Two of the guys that
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: I mean, they're all from Iowa State. He's just you
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: wonder if they just feel like this is all that's
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: holding us back, Like you know, we just we got
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: one way like, you know, almost they said to the quarterback, and.
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: Well, and that's the Nix blind spot.
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: A lot of that pressure came right up the middle,
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: you know, it came from everywhere.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Like they're not like I'm still trying to figure out
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: the Tunsel trade, Like, yeah, you had a good left
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: tackle and you traded him. But Nick has done a
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: lot of different things well in building that roster. He
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: hasn't been and he's addressed it. He just hasn't hit. Yeah.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: You know, Kenyan Green was a guard they took a
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: few years ago and people laughed at that to Fred
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: and he you know, he didn't pan out.
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: Yeah, the Dolphins pick is in.
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: Oh boy, Dolphins pick is in. We don't know. These
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: are always interesting ones. I just always hate. I just
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: hope that they don't take.
- 1:34:46Speaker 6: Chris Johnson, the corner back from San Diego State. Uh,
- 1:34:50Speaker 6: another guy that I really really liked. I just didn't
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: think the Patriots needed a corner. We're gonna go corner
- 1:34:56Speaker 6: here this high and the draft. But uh, sticky covering player,
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: really smooth, has ability to play man to man. Maybe
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: a little bit of like a tweeter slot outside guy,
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: but when you watch his coverage ability. He's he's really
- 1:35:11Speaker 6: really you know, locked down type of man coverage player.
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: Really one of those guys too that I think a
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: lot of people caught onto later in the process, and
- 1:35:20Speaker 6: you know, another media riser had to be at this
- 1:35:23Speaker 6: point of the draft, But there was a lot of chatter,
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: i'd say, over the last week or so that he
- 1:35:27Speaker 6: was going to go in the first round. So it
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: doesn't shock me that he's going here. But maybe a
- 1:35:32Speaker 6: month ago, three weeks ago, we were talking about him
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: as you know, is he a top fifty pick, where
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: is he going to go? And by the end he
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: ends up in the first round. But like I said,
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: I think his carrying trade, his standout trade, is his
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: man coverage ability. So kind of maybe tells you a
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: little bit about the Dolphins are trying to plan there
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: and what their kind of defense they're going to run.
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: So that was the twenty seventh pick.
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: Once that's announced, you've got Buffalo, Kansas City the forty
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: nine ers, and then you are New England Patriots.
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, And it seems like the pick line
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: is ahead of the broadcast by quite a bit, so
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: the Patriots might be pretty close to being on decor
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: on the clock here in the next ten to fifteen minutes.
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: Okay, all right, do we know Buffalo's already in We
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: do not not yet. Just got okay, we just got Miami's. Yeah,
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: I mean, you're getting to the point where you're close
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: enough with the last tackle, you know, if you wanted him,
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: you know it's going to be in play, right, Yeah,
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: only like four picks, you know it's going to be
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: in play.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: You know, Manuel mcnil, Warren maybe two, and that's you know,
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: this is what we talked about the beginning though. It's
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: like a thirty one who's going to fall through the
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: cracks and you know, I mean there was a certain
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: point I think where that guy was going to be
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: long gone.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: But everybody's got.
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: To make a feeling on McCoy, Min mccroy.
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: Yeah, we talked about him with the knee, you know
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: that that's why he's falling out of the first round.
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: I just I think there's a lot it's a very
- 1:36:59Speaker 6: dicey proposition with the injury right now. But you know,
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: looking at you know, just my big board, Cashus Howell,
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: Denzel Boston, t J Parker, Omar Cooper, Junior McNeil, Warren Zion,
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: young Kid McDonald's c J Allen. C J Allen's maybe
- 1:37:17Speaker 6: the one wild card at linebacker to draft an off
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: ball linebacker here.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: But to me end list, it is just me.
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: But to me after that, just looking at my notes,
- 1:37:26Speaker 6: like I feel like we're we're not picking somebody that's
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: the first round prospect right, like we're really getting into
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: this guy really should be you know, the R Mason Thomas's.
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: Those players are high second rounders in my opinion. So
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: if you're not in that list now, you only have
- 1:37:43Speaker 6: what five picks to go here, four picks to go,
- 1:37:45Speaker 6: So you're gonna get one of these guys if you want,
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: if you want them. You know, law Moo's also still
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: out there, you know, if they like him. Keldric falk
- 1:37:53Speaker 6: Is still out there if they like him. You know,
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: those are some of the guys that aren't my guys
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: that are still available. You know, Ivian Terrell from clem
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: In too, a really good player, Peter Woods. You know,
- 1:38:03Speaker 6: you want to go into your defensive line a little
- 1:38:05Speaker 6: bit more pass rush juice than a guy like Kayden McDonald.
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: So there's some other players that I didn't have on
- 1:38:10Speaker 6: the board that that you know are still available that
- 1:38:12Speaker 6: would surprise you. The corner A corner, Yeah, I mean,
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: like I just don't I don't get that one, you know. Like,
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: plus I also don't really want that to happen because
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: the obvious reaction from that is that they're not going
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: to pay Christian Gonzalez, right, you know, well, yeah, like
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: that that's the that's the obvious reaction for a lot
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: of people.
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: You draft the corner in the first round, you do
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: that thing. You know, me, I'm always doing that kind
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: of stuff, like what's the hidden I wouldn't do that.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: I would look at Carlton Davis. I think that would
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: be the clicker I don't think to look at But
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: that really is there that much? Is there that much
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: of a difference between picking a corner to replace Carlton
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: Davis next year or picking the tackle to replace Mogan
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: Moses next year? It's not that different that And how many.
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: Times did we think Carlton Davis is going to be out?
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: That's why it's not that practices games like, I know
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: he's not as old as Morgan Moses, but he's banged up.
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: I always I just looked at corner as something, you know,
- 1:39:06Speaker 6: if you draft a corner, you know, third fourth round,
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: I wouldn't be you know, blown away or but like
- 1:39:12Speaker 6: that's to me, like that they have some developmental you
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: know ability there. In terms of timeline, Patriots trade up
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: to twenty eight. So the Patriots are on the clock.
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: Wow, that's huge. What did they trade?
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: So they're picnic for the tackle? Okay?
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: Is it for Lomo? We haven't No, I don't know that.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: I have not seen the I have drama. I'm not
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: going to look at our internal communications, so we don't
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: have find internals right now, I'm gonna say I don't.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: I don't get them, so I don't. They're not going
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: to look. I haven't seen anything yet, but I thought
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: I would. But they're not going to look.
- 1:39:48Speaker 6: And we're all we're all the Patriots on the clock.
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: I'm waiting to see who what the trade details are.
- 1:39:59Speaker 6: So the Patriots traded one twenty five, so they got
- 1:40:02Speaker 6: two fours. So they get rid of one twenty five
- 1:40:06Speaker 6: and they come up from thirty one to twenty eight
- 1:40:08Speaker 6: by trading one twenty five.
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: That is the okay?
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: Interesting, Well, so Fred you said it. If you're trade
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: up for a guy, you want them so who do
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: they want? And I don't think it's Denzel Boston?
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: Should I tell you? Oh? Do you know?
- 1:40:25Speaker 6: I think so, we do know, but it's not out
- 1:40:27Speaker 6: there yet.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: You should wait because it's not on Twitter yet. Okay,
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: I don't know yet. I'm gonna enjoy. I don't know.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: I like, I'm not privy to these high level internal memos.
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: I think you're all going to be like, okay, okay,
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: I think you're going to be okay with yeah, all right,
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: well then.
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: This tells me it's not going to be cashus.
- 1:40:48Speaker 12: Howel well, then it's a Kelder fog Thick is in
- 1:40:57Speaker 12: who's going to do the honors?
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: Were waiting with baited breath.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: So it is on Twitter now if we want to
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: go with, go ahead.
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: So the Patriots did select Caleb Blomou tackle from Utah.
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: So they jumped up three spots to get the tackle,
- 1:41:10Speaker 6: the last tackle that was the first round tackle. I'm
- 1:41:14Speaker 6: gonna be honest. I didn't love the player. I didn't,
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: you know, wasn't crazy about the great.
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: Tackle Utah.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: So I was right that they they would have to
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: trade up to get him though. Yeah, I mean that's
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: exactly what friend you said you know, it was exactly
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: what you said.
- 1:41:43Speaker 13: Uh, but he was the left tackle. You know, he
- 1:41:45Speaker 13: played left tackle at Utah. I do like the fact
- 1:41:47Speaker 13: that he has the ability to play that's he played
- 1:41:50Speaker 13: left tackle. He has a lot of the measurables that
- 1:41:52Speaker 13: you look for at tackle.
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: Thirty three and three. It's everybody was wondering, Yeah, longer arms.
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: He hits the threshold very good athlete at the common
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: mine younger player, which is the one thing I did
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: really like about him. He's only twenty one years old.
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: You know, he's got some development to do. I think
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: he's got to add play strength, he's got to add
- 1:42:08Speaker 6: grit to his game. He has to be able to
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: finish a little bit better in the run game. But
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: he is one of those guys that can really pass protect,
- 1:42:16Speaker 6: especially you know, out on an island one on one
- 1:42:18Speaker 6: with pass rushers. He's got that ability to redirect and
- 1:42:21Speaker 6: you know, use his quickness and use his foot speed
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: to stay glued to box in the passing game.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: So there's a lot of upside here.
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: I think a lot of people felt like he had
- 1:42:30Speaker 6: extremely high upside, and that's what you're banking on with Lomu,
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: And you know, this late in the first round. It's
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: not surprising that you go in that direction. But one
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: of those guys that I was a little bit lukewarm on.
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: So I'm interested to see why, you know, what they
- 1:42:45Speaker 6: saw that you know, I didn't with him.
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: So Elliott will fully addressed in the media at the
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: end of the night, when we're getting to the end
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: of the night, we'll have that live on Patriots dot Com.
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: So I'm sure that's what he's going to be talking about,
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: is why they felt the need to try right up
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: to get this guy.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: Hey, this is a new draft room. There you go,
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: no socks? You ever cast one thousands in there? Like,
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: I'm not happy with that? So what does this say?
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: What is the same?
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: So we all when we were talking about them taking
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: a tackle, we were like, you know, probably gonna sit
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: behind Morgan Moses. And the fact that they traded up
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: to get this guy, do you think he's gonna play faster?
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: Do you think maybe Morgan Moses is going to be
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: backing him up.
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: I mean, that's not that's not the way the player
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: is written about.
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: You know, this is a guy that I think, similar
- 1:43:40Speaker 6: to the Ianichor that needs some development and it's going
- 1:43:43Speaker 6: to take some time. Like I mentioned earlier, he's only
- 1:43:45Speaker 6: twenty one years old, so he's young, and I think
- 1:43:48Speaker 6: that like Ianachor, I just like the onitor a little
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: bit better. But like Ianichor, you know, the good thing
- 1:43:54Speaker 6: about him is you don't have to thrust him into
- 1:43:56Speaker 6: play right away, so you can give him some of
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: that time to develop.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: Behind Morgan Moses.
- 1:44:01Speaker 6: You know, he's gonna have to switch sides, he's gonna
- 1:44:04Speaker 6: have to, you know, fix some of the technique things
- 1:44:06Speaker 6: that he has issues with.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: So that's gonna take some time.
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: So I don't really see him as someone that's uh,
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: you know, gonna step in day one or push Moses
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: early in his U you know, rookie season. I see
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: this as more of like a long term what we
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: Everything we discussed with the Ona chord applies here.
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: I know. I know, Evan, this is gonna be tough
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: for you. But is there any chance that this guy's
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: a better left tackle than Will Campbell?
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: As a I would say as a past protector, Yes,
- 1:44:34Speaker 6: I think there is a chance. I think he's got
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: a little bit more of like the natural build, the
- 1:44:38Speaker 6: natural length, So.
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: That talking about yes, you have a guy who potentially
- 1:44:47Speaker 4: could play right tackle, but you could also play left
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: tackle if things.
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: Don't exactly what he played left tackle. He left tackle
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: all the profit. He played left tackle at Utah, So
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: it's not can he switch side right like he did?
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: He did it, he played it at you know as well.
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: Now we're wondering if he can switch size the place.
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: That's my question. That's my question. Now we're switching him
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: the other way because I think it's a red shirt guy,
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: and I don't love that. But it's a need. I
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: don't think there's any question about it.
- 1:45:18Speaker 5: A lot of people in a position for I.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Think no, I don't necessarily think that they drafted specifically
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: for need. It's not like the last two years. But
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: a lot of people we were I think we're in
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: the minority. A lot of people were fixated on tackle,
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: like a lot of people would hell bend they're going
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: to take a tackle in the first round. I did
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: not agree. I was wrong, but it makes sense that,
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: you know, the tackle train was going ten picks was
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: a long time for that last one, the last and
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: obviously they didn't feel comfortable waiting another couple of picks. Yeah,
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: they went up and got him. Yeah, ended up to
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: get the last one. Yeah, I mean exactly. You know,
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: this was the last guy. If you really were serious
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: about whether it's Morgan Moses, session plan, Will Campbell, insurance
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: combination of both, if you were really serious about that
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: needing to be something you addressed this year, this was
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: the last guy on the board that could do.
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: This is the old regime.
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: The story would be we couldn't believe this guy fell.
- 1:46:16Speaker 4: We didn't have him as though we had him higher.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: Well, I mean the thing to me that, you know,
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: I can't imagine what Paul's shows are going to do
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: with this, because they're going to look at this as
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: and they're going to draw the direct line where I
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: think we've been balanced about it and saying they're going
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: to get a guy who you know, can maybe play
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: both sides. But I think the hot take is going
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: to be there's your left tackle? You think so, I
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: think that's gonna be the hot take, don't you think.
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: Well, they drafted a left tackle. So here's the thing.
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: I mean, you have he snaps on the right side
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: in college, but he's probably not going to play this year,
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: right If everything goes well and Campbell and Moses are healthy,
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: he doesn't play, and you have a whole year to
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: develop him. If Campbell doesn't play well, I don't think
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: that's outrageous to say, Like in twenty seven, when this
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: kid is ready to play, theoretically he plays left the
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: left side, and you figure out what you're gonna do
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: with Campbell. If Campbell plays well, you have to figure
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: out if this guy can play on the right side.
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: No, I think that's the balanced reason. Take right right.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: That's when that's the side you're gonna have to argue.
- 1:47:14Speaker 5: What you're going to me.
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: I just wonder, I don't know. I mean, I guess
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: so I've just traded back into the first round.
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: I just feel like in this situation, you know, he
- 1:47:25Speaker 6: only played thirty two snaps on the right side his
- 1:47:28Speaker 6: entire college career. He played fifteen hundred snaps at left tackle.
- 1:47:32Speaker 6: So if the plan is for him to play right
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: tackle and then I you know, just my opinion, but
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: I already thought that he has in development to do
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: period with just his technique and things like.
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: That to begin with.
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: So this is, to me is a little bit of
- 1:47:46Speaker 6: a project, Like you're switching sides and you're developing him
- 1:47:49Speaker 6: as a player, but there's a lot of people that
- 1:47:52Speaker 6: disagreed with me and thought that the upside was really
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: really immense. I'm not I hate that we're kind of
- 1:47:58Speaker 6: broaching the Will Campbell thing with this because we have
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: been talking all off season about drafting a successor for Morgan.
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: Yes we have.
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: It's been a topic ally. One of the big things
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: that we right and now we're talking about is this
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: actually Will Campbell's replace.
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: Only because this guy's a left tackle.
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: But you're but you just said why people are going
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: to do that. You just explained.
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: I understand that, but they It's been done before many time,
- 1:48:29Speaker 6: and it's not out unheard of to draft the college
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: left tackle and have him flip sides. I mean, you know,
- 1:48:35Speaker 6: maybe at this point in the draft that you don't
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: you're not putting him in like the Joalt category, but
- 1:48:40Speaker 6: it's not unheard of to do that. I just I
- 1:48:44Speaker 6: wonder about this, Like we had this conversation with Ianchor.
- 1:48:49Speaker 6: I just liked the onitor a little bit better as
- 1:48:50Speaker 6: a player, and so did the league because he got
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: drafted seven eight picks higher. But we talked about how
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: the tackle position was going to have a cliff and
- 1:48:59Speaker 6: it was gonna drop off and the edge position was
- 1:49:02Speaker 6: going to go into Day two with really good edge players,
- 1:49:05Speaker 6: and obviously Day decided that it was more important to
- 1:49:09Speaker 6: draft the tackle now. And then on Day two we
- 1:49:12Speaker 6: still get our edge guy that we like.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: I can't kill him for that guy.
- 1:49:15Speaker 6: Tackles need that strategy, I think was it just started
- 1:49:19Speaker 6: to make a lot of sense. Maybe wasn't the exact
- 1:49:21Speaker 6: player I thought that they were going to take, but
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: I think by the end of this process tackle was
- 1:49:26Speaker 6: in a lot of mock drafts to the Patriots.
- 1:49:28Speaker 5: All right, So we have some emails coming in about
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: to pick John and Utah. A bias Utah fan.
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: I think Caleb has a high ceiling talent wise, not
- 1:49:36Speaker 4: a slam dunk, but I think the possibility for strong
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: career is there. I'm not as high on him as
- 1:49:41Speaker 4: Garrett Bowles back in the day, but I am optimistic.
- 1:49:44Speaker 4: I don't think he's ready for a lot of starting
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: time right away, but ideally they'll be able to buy
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: some time with Moses.
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: Chris writes in from Colfax.
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: Back from Colfax, I'm so glad that we traded up
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: to take the last tackle alla Cam Fleming again and
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: a tackle that it soften, doesn't play with any nastiness.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: Great pick Elliott Fleming.
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: Cam Fleming wasn't a first round pick. It was the
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: third round, right, I think he was a fourth round pick.
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: So not even Yeah, Ryan better pro left tackle prospect
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: Lomu or Campbell?
- 1:50:18Speaker 5: What if you were choosing between the two and the
- 1:50:20Speaker 5: same draft, Campbell.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: Campbell? But I mean I would say Campbell, but I
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: think Campbell. Yeah, I mean, I mean this draft. One
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: of my favorite players getting picked by the Jets right now,
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: Omar Cooper. I like him. It's a fun pairing with
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: him and Garrett Wilson that that makes a lot of sense.
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: And you know, uh so all of a sudden weapons quarterbacks,
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: you know, Gino gonna cook, you probably will cook here.
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: That's just what happens. Right So now you're you're now
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: officially worried about the two Jets games next year because
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: Gino Smith, I worry about everything. That's my job.
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: But no, it's a it's it's an interesting pick, especially
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: when I look at it, you just through the lens
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: of how it's going to be received. I see, you
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: know some of the comments, and that's just the battle
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: will continue. I wonder if they talked to Will Campbell,
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: you know, I mean, just to let him know what
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: their plan was, because it's just you can't look away
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: that this kid was a starting left tackle.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: And you know, but I get, you know, I just said,
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: it's not five minutes talking to Matthew staffin right pearance,
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: But I just I just said, it showed you the
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: value of the tackles.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: And I mean, you know, you're not sure it was
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: a guy that was in the second round at a
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: certain point, but once they start going and you got
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: to go.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Up and get your guy if you want to go
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: Rio and Texas.
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: Oh so, now Evan likes Nick amount of Wari would
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: have been nice if he had felt that way when
- 1:51:43Speaker 4: we kept craft all over. My take that the Patriots
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: should trade down out of the fourth overall pick and
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: target and Matta Warri with one of the picks they
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: get in return instead of drafting what we see is
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: now a future left guard.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: What are we talking about? When I proposed the move.
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: On cash twenty two, reading out of the spot where
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: you could take well, Campbell was untakable. A mel Kiper
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: junior banging the table for Jador Sandel's level of draft prognostication.
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: I don't even know what he's talking.
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna summarize this because it doesn't really
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: happen very much.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: Cat what twenty two beefs, don't.
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: You beef? I liked im and Worry in the draft
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: and you didn't and it was wonder And the only
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: reason why I remember it is because I don't do
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: anywhere near the amount of research on the draft that
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: you guys do, so when I get one, I remember it.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: And you said earlier tonight, when you were talking about
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: I believe Warren McNeil Warren, you compared them very favorably
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: to the things that Eman worey. I think that's where
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: the email is getting the email where I love from. Yeah,
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: but like and now I'm going to defend now, I'm
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: going to defend you. Now, I'm going to defend you.
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: He could he could be like a lot of the
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: other media guys and just insist that he was right
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: and refused to actually watch what the player did as
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: as a pro last year. And see I don't want
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: to say, well, no, he's just not that good. And
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: about the system, which is a lot of our colleagues
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: do because they refused to admit they were wrong. Yeah,
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: I so you did. I was dead wrong about him.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: He's a stud I with. I mean, we don't have
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: to deliberate a man worry right now. But they Seattle
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: had a much better plan for him than I envisioned.
- 1:53:19Speaker 6: When you watched him in college, he played in the
- 1:53:21Speaker 6: deep part of the field a lot, and he looked
- 1:53:22Speaker 6: out of place. Seattle moved him closer to the line
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: of scrimmage, and now he's one of the best safeties
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: in the league. I've admitted that a million times, so
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: we can be snarky about it, but how many more
- 1:53:32Speaker 6: times I have to admit that.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: I was wrong? Bills trade again. Yeah, the Bills don't
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: like the draft. They're trying to get out, jeez, they
- 1:53:44Speaker 3: I mean, are they picking up any kind.
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: Of trades by Buffalo?
- 1:53:48Speaker 3: I'm not going three trades backed by Buffalo. They're stockpiling.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: I would need to see a chart for that.
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: I can't visually picture it, but I'd love to see
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: how what what kind of draft capital they've actually picked up.
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: If it's anything seeficant, No, it's pick swaps. Yeah, it's
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: like sixty six to sixty nine six, you know, one
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: on one, one sixty five, thirty five to thirty one,
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: that kind of stuff going down, going down.
- 1:54:12Speaker 5: Jeremiah says, I really like the low move put pick.
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: I would have preferred Warren, but he's great as well.
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: I know it's not going to be a popular pick
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: since he my red shirt his first season, but I
- 1:54:21Speaker 4: think projecting May, protecting May, I'm sorry, should always be
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: the top priority.
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: Is there any chance of the skuy who's into Garden, No,
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: I don't think so. I don't think he has to.
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: I think the best thing that I like about the pick,
- 1:54:33Speaker 6: since I already said I kind of don't.
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: Do you want to go to Elliott?
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: Oh? Yeah, yes, Elliot's there. Let's talk to him.
- 1:54:40Speaker 7: Move from Utah.
- 1:54:40Speaker 11: Traded up three spots and gave up a fourth round
- 1:54:43Speaker 11: pick to acquire him.
- 1:54:46Speaker 7: Really excited about this player.
- 1:54:48Speaker 11: He's young, he's experienced, he's he's athletic, he's a great kid,
- 1:54:54Speaker 11: and frankly, I'm I was a little surprised that he
- 1:54:57Speaker 11: was still available, and that's why we, you know, decided
- 1:55:01Speaker 11: to move up a little bit.
- 1:55:04Speaker 7: And we're excited at him.
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: Any questions, Ellie, how much of the fact that he
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: was a three year starter factor into you guys picking
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: in given work.
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: You guys are at as an organization.
- 1:55:17Speaker 7: Yeah, he was.
- 1:55:18Speaker 11: Actually he's a three year player, two year starter at Utah.
- 1:55:21Speaker 11: He's still twenty one years old. Played mostly on the
- 1:55:24Speaker 11: left side, but we feel like he has the athletic
- 1:55:28Speaker 11: ability and talent to you know, obviously has to come
- 1:55:30Speaker 11: in and earn a role somewhere, but he has the
- 1:55:32Speaker 11: athletic ability and talent and strength and you know upside
- 1:55:37Speaker 11: to kind of play anywhere on the line.
- 1:55:40Speaker 7: And again, we're just we're just really thrilled.
- 1:55:43Speaker 11: You know, big athletes like this are are hard to
- 1:55:46Speaker 11: come by, especially you know later in the in.
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: The first round like this.
- 1:55:49Speaker 11: So I don't want to you know, set set him
- 1:55:52Speaker 11: up for any wild comparisons or anything like that, but
- 1:55:56Speaker 11: just really really happy that we were able to acquire him.
- 1:55:59Speaker 14: I think glory of his college experience on the left side.
- 1:56:02Speaker 11: Are you open to having him play on the right
- 1:56:04Speaker 11: or how do you think he'll approach? Yeah, I mean
- 1:56:06Speaker 11: we're Will's the left tackle, and like I said, Caleb
- 1:56:09Speaker 11: has some versatility, so we feel like, uh, you know,
- 1:56:12Speaker 11: some of the pro day workouts that he did were
- 1:56:13Speaker 11: on the right side, and you know we were We
- 1:56:16Speaker 11: were comfortable with that.
- 1:56:16Speaker 7: Again, he's he's very.
- 1:56:18Speaker 11: Athletic, So I don't think it'll either side it will
- 1:56:21Speaker 11: be a problem for him on guard.
- 1:56:23Speaker 7: Would he be a thought process at either of those spots.
- 1:56:26Speaker 11: It's it's a possibility, you know, physically and athletically, Like
- 1:56:30Speaker 11: we think that that's something he could do. You know,
- 1:56:32Speaker 11: like like most rookie offensive lineman, he's gonna have to
- 1:56:34Speaker 11: get stronger when he gets up here. But again that's
- 1:56:37Speaker 11: something for for coach Maron and and Haas and John
- 1:56:41Speaker 11: DeCosta to kind of decide and see what what what
- 1:56:44Speaker 11: fits the best for us.
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: And can you take us behind?
- 1:56:47Speaker 7: Like the trade? Is that an easy one to pull
- 1:56:49Speaker 7: out for you?
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: Sort of like grinding the.
- 1:56:51Speaker 11: Phone some of that, Yeah, I would say, you know,
- 1:56:54Speaker 11: we we've been working the phones pretty regularly. Uh, you know,
- 1:56:57Speaker 11: not only today, but you know throughout the week, just
- 1:57:00Speaker 11: you know, trying to find different contingencies. Today was was
- 1:57:04Speaker 11: I would say, busier, just trying to feel out. You know,
- 1:57:06Speaker 11: I think this draft, I think a lot of people
- 1:57:08Speaker 11: have said, is a little bit unique. There were a
- 1:57:09Speaker 11: lot of trades. There continue to be a lot of trades.
- 1:57:11Speaker 11: I think there was one right when I was walking
- 1:57:12Speaker 11: down here as well. But yeah, we were we were
- 1:57:16Speaker 11: very active on the phones, you know, Ryan and Matt
- 1:57:20Speaker 11: grow did a great job of you know, kind of
- 1:57:22Speaker 11: working the phones and trying to understand where the value was.
- 1:57:25Speaker 11: And ultimately with with Caleb still on the board, we
- 1:57:28Speaker 11: just felt like, uh, you know, giving up giving up
- 1:57:31Speaker 11: the extra pick to to make sure that we could
- 1:57:33Speaker 11: acquire him was important.
- 1:57:36Speaker 7: Off After a little bit the tackle position we did.
- 1:57:40Speaker 11: You know, again, there's there's still some good players at
- 1:57:42Speaker 11: the at tackle and guard as well, but we we
- 1:57:45Speaker 11: felt like there was a drop off and we felt like, again,
- 1:57:47Speaker 11: just this best player available type situation for us at
- 1:57:50Speaker 11: that point.
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: Any surprises before you over the first round.
- 1:57:54Speaker 11: Uh, I feel like I've probably been doing this long
- 1:57:58Speaker 11: enough where nothing surprises me.
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: But you know, I think just the number of offensive
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: linemen is interesting.
- 1:58:06Speaker 11: And you know, again even with that, like the fact
- 1:58:09Speaker 11: that that Lomu was still available is pretty cool.
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: Six of the offensive tackles first twenty one picks at
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: that point in time, did you think you had a
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: chance at Lomu?
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: Like we didn't.
- 1:58:23Speaker 11: The way the board fell, there were still a couple
- 1:58:25Speaker 11: of players up there that you know, again, we were
- 1:58:27Speaker 11: at that point it was kind of best player available
- 1:58:29Speaker 11: for us, you know, picking late in the round, and
- 1:58:32Speaker 11: ultimately just you know, other names kept coming off and
- 1:58:35Speaker 11: we were you know, continuing to call around and found
- 1:58:37Speaker 11: a trade partner and maybe an unlikely trade partner in Buffalo,
- 1:58:41Speaker 11: and uh, you know, we were able to make it work.
- 1:58:44Speaker 9: Morgan Moses to you guys have reiterated that you're expecting
- 1:58:47Speaker 9: you back.
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: Did you see kind of this benefit of bringing in
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: Lolo to kind.
- 1:58:51Speaker 9: Of work with Will Campbell and Morgan Moses this year
- 1:58:54Speaker 9: and have that ability to develop with them.
- 1:58:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:58:56Speaker 11: Absolutely, I mean Morgan Morgan's you know, Morgan's been here
- 1:58:59Speaker 11: this week, is a tremendous leader and a great resource
- 1:59:02Speaker 11: for young players. And you know, Caleb's young. I mean,
- 1:59:05Speaker 11: he's got a lot of things that he's going to
- 1:59:06Speaker 11: need to learn. He had a great offensive line coach
- 1:59:09Speaker 11: at Utah and Jim Harding and h just you know,
- 1:59:13Speaker 11: really excited to be able to get to work with him.
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: When you reset the board kind of at the end
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: of the what goes into that logistical perspective end of
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: the night here kind of setting things up for Day
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: two tomorrow.
- 1:59:24Speaker 11: Yeah, well, we'll probably just do that in the morning probably.
- 1:59:28Speaker 11: You know, it's it's good to remove yourself a little
- 1:59:31Speaker 11: bit from it and and just kind of focus in
- 1:59:34Speaker 11: on what we need to to next. Obviously, we don't
- 1:59:35Speaker 11: have an early round two pick, so it's going to
- 1:59:38Speaker 11: be a lot like tonight where we're gonna have to
- 1:59:40Speaker 11: watch a lot of names come off that board before
- 1:59:42Speaker 11: we can make something happen. So you know, certainly certainly
- 1:59:46Speaker 11: understanding as the names have come off tonight, like where
- 1:59:49Speaker 11: the strengths and weaknesses are for Day two.
- 1:59:53Speaker 7: Caleb do during the draft process since his last football
- 1:59:56Speaker 7: game is over to prove this doc corport you in
- 2:00:00Speaker 7: your eyes from January on.
- 2:00:02Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, obviously the testing was was excellent. We
- 2:00:06Speaker 11: interviewed him at the combine.
- 2:00:07Speaker 7: That was great.
- 2:00:08Speaker 11: You know, he's actually it's actually kind of We actually
- 2:00:11Speaker 11: canceled his thirty visit because we didn't we had one
- 2:00:14Speaker 11: scheduled and we just didn't think he was going to
- 2:00:17Speaker 11: factor in for us.
- 2:00:18Speaker 3: We thought he'd be gone.
- 2:00:19Speaker 7: So his his agent, Chase Callahan.
- 2:00:23Speaker 11: And Colin Roberts were too excited about that, but they
- 2:00:25Speaker 11: understood and you know here we are, so it's pretty
- 2:00:27Speaker 11: exciting to to be able to acquire him. But athletically
- 2:00:31Speaker 11: like some of the some of the things at the
- 2:00:33Speaker 11: Pro day, the feet, you know, the ability to play
- 2:00:35Speaker 11: right tackle, and then obviously some of the zooms that
- 2:00:37Speaker 11: we did with them, you know, where he showed the
- 2:00:40Speaker 11: intelligence that we we felt like he had some versatility
- 2:00:42Speaker 11: and would be able to play more than one spot, Elliot.
- 2:00:45Speaker 10: Other players he may have targeted targeted as second round
- 2:00:49Speaker 10: possibilities you'd be willing to move off the board to
- 2:00:52Speaker 10: get if they're in range.
- 2:00:55Speaker 7: I think that's a possibility.
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:00:57Speaker 11: We we like to have as many picks as we can,
- 2:00:59Speaker 11: and obviously we gave one up, so I don't I
- 2:01:01Speaker 11: don't know how likely that is. But again, if if,
- 2:01:03Speaker 11: if it's the right thing for us, which you know,
- 2:01:06Speaker 11: we felt like this one was, it certainly wouldn't.
- 2:01:08Speaker 5: Rule it out.
- 2:01:10Speaker 7: Ellie. How high was he on the board. We had
- 2:01:13Speaker 7: a first round grade on him.
- 2:01:16Speaker 3: Ellie, can you take us through how you found out
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: about Mike's.
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: Decision not to take part on day three and your
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: reaction and how is that going to work without him there?
- 2:01:27Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, I just refer to this statement. That's
- 2:01:30Speaker 11: a that's a personal thing that Mike's you know, dealing
- 2:01:33Speaker 11: with and going through. And obviously we support him, you know,
- 2:01:36Speaker 11: as far as the as the work is concerned on Saturday,
- 2:01:39Speaker 11: not too worried about that, just as far as you know,
- 2:01:41Speaker 11: the process that we have in place, the people that
- 2:01:43Speaker 11: we have in place, and it's going to be different,
- 2:01:45Speaker 11: you know, without his presence there, but we feel really
- 2:01:48Speaker 11: good about the people that we have in place to
- 2:01:50Speaker 11: make up for it.
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: You feel like you guys will be able to get
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: in contact with him if aint thing arises. Yes, Elli,
- 2:01:59Speaker 3: what will you missing without mik uh?
- 2:02:02Speaker 11: You know, the stability of of him as a person,
- 2:02:08Speaker 11: you know, some of the leaderships, some of the presents.
- 2:02:11Speaker 11: He does a nice job for us in the in
- 2:02:13Speaker 11: the with the undrafted players. Obviously he's a tremendous recruiter.
- 2:02:18Speaker 11: So that's that's maybe something that we'll be missing. But
- 2:02:20Speaker 11: again we're we're very confident in the people we.
- 2:02:22Speaker 7: Have with the process.
- 2:02:24Speaker 11: The assistant coaches have done a tremendous job, as have
- 2:02:27Speaker 11: the scouts, uh, you know, preparing for Day three, and
- 2:02:30Speaker 11: and we're excited about it.
- 2:02:32Speaker 9: Say on the picked stamity, Yes, Caleb, you said that
- 2:02:37Speaker 9: you can't on the thirty visit. What was that call
- 2:02:39Speaker 9: with him like when you told him you guys are
- 2:02:41Speaker 9: dropping him considering?
- 2:02:42Speaker 7: Oh, he was excited. I mean, he he was excited.
- 2:02:44Speaker 11: Actually, we have a cool feature in the draft room
- 2:02:46Speaker 11: where we can take the draft board down and actually
- 2:02:49Speaker 11: use FaceTime call, so we facetimed him. He was at
- 2:02:52Speaker 11: a big party with his family and had the opportunity
- 2:02:55Speaker 11: to meet his wife on the on the FaceTime.
- 2:02:57Speaker 7: Call, he was he was pretty excited, So that was cool.
- 2:03:00Speaker 11: And as far as canceling a thirty visit, it's not uncommon.
- 2:03:03Speaker 11: We try to get those scheduled beforehand, just because the
- 2:03:06Speaker 11: dance cards kind of fill up and those are usually
- 2:03:08Speaker 11: done through the agent.
- 2:03:09Speaker 14: So I don't know, you know, trying to give you
- 2:03:11Speaker 14: a little bit of tile over with that one, Ellie.
- 2:03:15Speaker 7: Would you learn about him as a person through the
- 2:03:17Speaker 7: pre draft process? Just a tremendously family oriented.
- 2:03:21Speaker 11: I mean, he's you know, he's a young guy, twenty
- 2:03:23Speaker 11: one years old and he's married, so you know, obviously
- 2:03:25Speaker 11: a strong foundation through through his parents and everything. And
- 2:03:29Speaker 11: you know, the people at Utah really spoke highly of
- 2:03:32Speaker 11: the of his character and the things that you know
- 2:03:34Speaker 11: he's all about. Mike has said he likes to get
- 2:03:38Speaker 11: a feel for Lineman's We know famously he did with
- 2:03:40Speaker 11: Will last year.
- 2:03:41Speaker 7: If he didn't come here for the thirty visit, did
- 2:03:44Speaker 7: that happen? And what was Mike's feedback in that regard?
- 2:03:46Speaker 7: I don't.
- 2:03:47Speaker 11: I don't think Mike ever had the opportunity to put
- 2:03:49Speaker 11: hands on him. I'm sure that'll be one of the
- 2:03:51Speaker 11: first things that Mike does whenever he gets here. But no,
- 2:03:57Speaker 11: you know, we we worked him out. We had scouts
- 2:03:59Speaker 11: that worked him out, that were there and and you know,
- 2:04:01Speaker 11: all all all positives in that.
- 2:04:06Speaker 3: Can you do you realistically see him at six and
- 2:04:09Speaker 3: a quarter playing inside a car?
- 2:04:11Speaker 7: I think it's possible.
- 2:04:12Speaker 11: Again, you know, that's that's maybe one that we'll see
- 2:04:14Speaker 11: a little bit more when he gets here. But just
- 2:04:16Speaker 11: from a physical athletic standpoint, I don't. I don't see
- 2:04:19Speaker 11: a reason that he couldn't.
- 2:04:22Speaker 7: Thanks, all right, we're back.
- 2:04:28Speaker 4: I was just kind of relaxing, just like that. It ended,
- 2:04:32Speaker 4: all right, Well that was Elliott Wolf kind of explaining
- 2:04:35Speaker 4: the pick and yeah, well interesting, you know said feels
- 2:04:39Speaker 4: like it wasn't a pick of need it was the
- 2:04:41Speaker 4: best player available.
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I went up to get him, and I mean, interesting,
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: what did I tell you?
- 2:04:45Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:04:45Speaker 3: No, Fred, you called it.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: I mean, we could cut the whole thing up, probably
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: be a pretty comical edit though, you know, with some
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: of the stuff this guy said.
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: But I think that the thing about getting side inside,
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: that's a little interesting to me.
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: And you know, I think usually when these picks happen,
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: he comes out and you see all the things they
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: like about him and all the potential, and it gets you,
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: It gets you excited about what they see in him
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: and the potential he hasn't you know, in a perfect world,
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: the last two years, you just drafted your booke nd
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: tackles for the next ten years.
- 2:05:11Speaker 3: You know, in a perfect world, that's how it works out.
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: Now, maybe you know, next year, Michael, when you leaves
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: and he flies inside and we get another year out
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: of Morgan Moses, maybe it doesn't work out exactly like
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: we're planning right now, but clearly super athletic kid, great size.
- 2:05:25Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: I do think the interesting thing though, is that talked
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: about Mike Rabel's style and like looking for guys who
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: play with that grittiness, and you know, Rutledge went and like,
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: that's a rabele guy.
- 2:05:34Speaker 3: So that's an element that you don't really see from
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: his game.
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: He's not that kind of violent finisher, which you know,
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: not everybody's going to be cookie cutter and exactly what
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: you want. But I think the athleticism is really intriguing
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: to me about what he's gonna bring.
- 2:05:45Speaker 4: You know, and you talked about like the two young
- 2:05:48Speaker 4: on the outside, but you also have a young center.
- 2:05:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so Secon, you're right, and if dear Tucker can
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: stay healthy, you know, you know, really if this works out,
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: you know, next year, you're you're going to the draft
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: next year being like maybe you got to replace someone
- 2:06:02Speaker 2: new maybe, but otherwise, if it all works out, you're
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: you know, pretty set with protection and it goes back.
- 2:06:07Speaker 5: To so then in twenty seven you can take advantage
- 2:06:10Speaker 5: of draft.
- 2:06:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: But yah, again, I'm just so taken by the value
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: of the tackles and you know, just in and I
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: think we all look, everybody knew who the seven were
- 2:06:18Speaker 2: and that they were all going to kind of go
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: in this range, but even still, it felt like they
- 2:06:22Speaker 2: were even a tick above where you thought they might go.
- 2:06:25Speaker 3: Because that's what that's that's the league.
- 2:06:26Speaker 5: Now, all right, Well, you know what I'm excited about.
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: Sleep.
- 2:06:29Speaker 5: No, we'll be back.
- 2:06:30Speaker 4: Tomorrow at seven o'clock at the start of round two.
- 2:06:34Speaker 4: So I think it was a successful night in terms
- 2:06:38Speaker 4: of the show. Yeah, and I think the Patriots hopefully
- 2:06:41Speaker 4: as successful as well with their first round pick.
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: I think tomorrow's the day the rubber meets the road.
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: I mean, that's where you really can.
- 2:06:47Speaker 6: Start getting some guys that can make an immediate impact.
- 2:06:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:06:50Speaker 3: I think Lomo is probably, you know, a guy that
- 2:06:54Speaker 3: I wasn't as high on as other people. Hopefully they
- 2:06:57Speaker 3: got it right and I got it wrong.
- 2:06:58Speaker 6: Happens time, so that's definitely possible. But you know, I
- 2:07:05Speaker 6: don't you know, based off what they have with Morgan
- 2:07:07Speaker 6: Moses obviously too still here. Even if I like the player,
- 2:07:12Speaker 6: they probably wasn't going to play right away anyways. Right,
- 2:07:14Speaker 6: So tomorrow night is the night, you know, edge rusher,
- 2:07:17Speaker 6: tight end.
- 2:07:17Speaker 3: Potentially.
- 2:07:18Speaker 6: They did give up one twenty five, so they don't
- 2:07:20Speaker 6: have two fourth round picks anymore. So we're in the
- 2:07:24Speaker 6: spot now or they got to start getting some guys
- 2:07:26Speaker 6: that are gonna make this team better in twenty twenty six.
- 2:07:29Speaker 4: All right, Well that's it for Paul Evan, Deuce, myself,
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: Matt and Alex back behind the glass. We will see
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: you tomorrow at seven o'clock Eastern time. Until then, of sleep.
- 2:07:46Speaker 3: Hey, this is Deuce. Thanks for tuning into the show.
- 2:07:49Speaker 3: If you really want to.
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: Help us, make sure you like us wherever you get
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: your podcasts, like Apple Podcasts or Spotify. So make sure
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: you follow us on the New England Patriots YouTube channel

- 2:07:58Speaker 2: here at the Patriots.
- 2:07:59Speaker 3: Thanks a lot,
