Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Two cars, I think I would have had tolerance.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying two cars that get to order before me uh at the McDonald's drive-thru on Chambers Road, and I'm calling you out directly because I know you can do better.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: We used to know the manager there because we've done a live broadcast there years ago.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Our name was up on the marquee.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Do you remember this?
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: So we used to know the manager who clearly is not the manager there anymore because they used to run like a well-oiled machine.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: And and and four or five cars they have to wait before you have to place an order.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: It's crumbled.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And you guys can do better.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: I know you can.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: This is me pep talking you.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I know you have it in you, or you have an inexperienced manager that needs to be be replaced and uh get get do better.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Or we could just get rid of the outside lane where apparently is the thing that holds us back the most.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So it was yesterday, 4 55 in the afternoon.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Here's Scott's order: three large Diet Cokes, a four-piece chicken McNugget from the value meal, and a McDouble.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: It's all it's it's seconds worth of work.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: I'm sitting in the outside lane, not for one, not for two, not for three, but four cars to not have been in line, pull in off the street and order, and then I get the I'll be with you in a minute, like, but did you forget about me?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Because I really think see you in a minute in the unemployment line when I'm done with your manager.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: I really think that you forgot about me.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: That's what I would think.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: No, it wasn't forgetting.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, there, I'd I, you know, they they did say, oh, sorry, but you know, sorry doesn't cut after four.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: You know what would have cut it?
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Three free Diet Cokes.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: We screwed up.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We were have you know, we've got a new person here, these Diet Cokes are on us.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Simple enough.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I'd have been like, you know what?
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you accepting what happened and you understand, and you're working on it.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: The day just went on as though that's what you get.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: 8652 says, okay, I'm just gonna clear some things up here.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: I work at the McDonald's in Corning.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Now, which one?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: If it's Denison Parkway, I've never had a problem with yours.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: You guys are excellent.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Always on it.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: There's supposed to be two people per lane.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: So the reason why the inner lane was moving and the outer way outer lane one wasn't, it's simply because the person on the lane was actually taking orders.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: So the employees What does that mean?
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: So it sounds like there's somebody assigned to the inner and somebody assigned to the outer.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, the person was taking the orders on the inner.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: There was nobody taking orders on the outer.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Exactly right.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: The employees are usually testy at the first window you reach because it is absolutely the worst position you can get when you go into work that day.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: I apologize for your experience.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Go to the one in Corning next time.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but when I have to go to the Guthrie buildings across from our net mall, I'm not driving to Corning to come all the way back.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: By the way, also the South Side.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Southport, excellent McDonald's over by Topps.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, good to be outstanding with uh with their, and this isn't just about this could be any drive-thru, but it just so happens.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Apparently, I spend a lot of times at McDonald's.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I think I think because that it sounds like there wasn't two people assigned that day, I think you were forgotten.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Well then you would definitely have bad management.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: You need to say this works like a zipper, Alyssa, and it works like this because she was like 12.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: You you go, okay, so you take inner, outer, inner, outer, inner, it's just close the outer if you don't have two people to work it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: That's a great idea too.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Put a cone up.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And I've seen that at the Main Street uh McDonald's in Elmira.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Because it's stupid.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: My God, I go to a lot of McDonald's.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: You're telling me.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: All right, moving on from there.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, so let me ask you if you would do this.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Since we're on the fast food thing, I'm gonna stay in the fast food universe for a minute.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: The fast food lane.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: We will we will be getting our Chick-fil-A soon enough.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: By the way, take note, they got young kids out there with iPads taking your orders when it's time.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I also would like to suggest, I think the location for the new Chick-fil-A sucks.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: And I think that they should have gone to the Miracle Mile where the old friendlies is.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: There's a lot more room there, and I think that would have kept it less congested.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: That's my opinion.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, moving on.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I gotta see what they're gonna do with the traffic pattern there.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: There's gotta be something that's gonna change.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: You know what's gonna suck.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I know what they need to do.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: Come on, tell me, Miracle Mile friendlies would have been fantastic.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Miracle Mile doesn't have the business.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Uh we're all car dealerships, hip sales industry, where it's it's not the same.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: But it's right on the corner, it's right off the highway.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, for people turning right, but if you're turning left, you're screwed.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Well, no, you're just gonna do it.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: So it's not gonna work.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: You just get off the Watkins Glen horseheads exit.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: No, if you're coming down the Miracle Mile, turning left into that will be a disaster.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, oh, okay.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: I see.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: But you know what would fix it?
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: What?
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Over by Chambers Road, or not Chambers Road, uh County Route 64, where it's gonna go?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: A roundabout.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Along with the outer lane at McDonald's, can we stop with the roundabouts?
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: This is not flipping England.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Nobody gets it.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Nobody wants to get it.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Nobody will ever do it.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: The worst now is Route 13.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: There is a roundabout.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: I get out of the roundabout.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I'm into the next.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, and then well, two seconds later, have another roundabout.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Ring around the roundabout.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Stop with the roundabouts.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with traffic signals.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Now tell me the Chick-fil-A story.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Okay, so over to that for just a second.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: They are celebrating Cow Appreciation Day today.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: And they're doing that by giving away free food to customers who dress like cows.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: This was very popular in college at Chipotle back in the day.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: They would have certain days that you would dress like things.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: You know, there was probably at least three people listening who have a cow costume.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: You dressed as a cow for Halloween.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: I was thinking that's a conservative number.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, no.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: It's the twin tiers.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: There's there's a lot of people that have cow costumes.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Are you listening?
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Do you have a cow costume?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Just text yes.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Because next year, when it opens, we'll remind you that it's cow appreciation day and that you can go get free food.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I would love free Chick-fil-A.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And you know what I think more restaurants should do this too.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: There should be uh things like, um, okay, one year we dressed as, and I know you hated it, but we dressed as the McDonald's characters for Halloween.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: So one day, if it's like, hey, if you dress like the hamburglar, come in, we'll give you free food.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: All you have to do really is wear a striped shirt and a white or not a white uh black eye mask.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: And and bada bang, bada bang.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: I'm with you on this.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: I really think that more rush okay, legends.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: If I came in dressed as a legend, I don't know.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Who could I dress as a you walking through the door and
