- 0:03Speaker 1: And there's Dan Lanning out there because no one can
- 0:05Speaker 1: yell at him. There is Lanning out on the field,
- 0:08Speaker 1: not focused on the opponent, not focused on his team,
- 0:11Speaker 1: not focused on the game. He is focused on making
- 0:13Speaker 1: Pat McAfee laugh.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Enough.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Terrible. Terrible job by Lanning.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Dan Lanning is the Nick Saban of Mike Norvell's. Who
- 0:22Speaker 4: the hell is Dan Lanning? Could at least give us
- 0:25Speaker 4: Ben Johnson might be the greatest coach ever.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Uh, no.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Knock if you agree with me.
- 0:32Speaker 5: Give me the frozen dungeon.
- 0:33Speaker 4: I know we're doing overreaction Mondays.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I would still be surprised. And it's Tuesday.
- 0:38Speaker 2: You got nothing right there.
- 0:39Speaker 4: It's time to get your pint.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Tomato, tomato.
- 0:43Speaker 4: There is no worse surprise than surprise Gouda.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I felt so bad for Arch Manning playing so poorly.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I was saying to myself, he doesn't have it. He's
- 0:51Speaker 1: not a manning.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Everyone is a fraud. This is Steve Spurrier, former Gator
- 0:55Speaker 4: head ball coach, and you've been listening to Stugatz and Company.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Everyone is a fraud. Surprise Gouda.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It is Stugatz and Company presented by FanDuel and the
- 1:05Speaker 1: FanDuel Sportsbook. Charles McDonald going to join us in about
- 1:08Speaker 1: 10-15 minutes here. Reece Davis coming up. It's set number two.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Taylor still wants to talk about Jackson Dart. I've moved
- 1:15Speaker 1: on to Jameis Winston. Jackson Dart is done for the season.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I dropped him on my fantasy team. I picked up
- 1:19Speaker 1: Michael Penix, unfortunately. I'm hoping someone wants to play quarterback
- 1:23Speaker 1: for that Falcons team, and hopefully it's Penix.
- 1:26Speaker 3: But Jackson Dart is still.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Something that Taylor wants to talk about.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Why do you want to talk about Jackson Dart still?
- 1:31Speaker 3: He's out for the year.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah, so when we left yesterday, it was Jackson Dart
- 1:35Speaker 4: was going to go through his options, and then it
- 1:37Speaker 4: comes out today. from Ian Rappaport that Jackson Dart will
- 1:41Speaker 4: have that season-ending knee surgery after suffering damage to his MCL, PCL,
- 1:45Speaker 4: and meniscus. And luckily for Jackson Dart, if you want
- 1:48Speaker 4: to consider it lucky, the ACL is still intact. But
- 1:52Speaker 4: when you're talking about the Giants, They need a quarterback option,
- 1:57Speaker 4: but it feels like you already made your quarterback decision
- 1:59Speaker 4: when you paid Jameis Winston and you gave him a two-year,
- 2:03Speaker 4: $ 13 million extension because you trusted him to be the
- 2:06Speaker 4: guy if Jackson Dart ever went down. So today everybody
- 2:12Speaker 4: is doing the... What draft capital could the Giants use?
- 2:16Speaker 4: What trade capital could the Giants use to go out
- 2:18Speaker 4: and get a quarterback? The problem, Stu, is once you
- 2:21Speaker 4: start naming quarterbacks, you actually have to name a quarterback
- 2:24Speaker 4: that actually upgrades your team, and there really aren't too
- 2:27Speaker 4: many options out there.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So this is interesting, Mikey, because I would say if
- 2:30Speaker 1: you were ranking the backup quarterbacks before the season started,
- 2:35Speaker 1: Jameis Winston would be in everyone's top five.
- 2:37Speaker 3: But we've now seen him play. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And so I don't know what the Giants should do here,
- 2:43Speaker 3: you know?
- 2:45Speaker 6: The whole idea of the Giants going out and giving
- 2:47Speaker 6: up any kind of capital to go get another quarterback
- 2:51Speaker 6: who's going to be significantly better than Jameis Winston is ridiculous.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Like, Jameis Winston is not.
- 3:01Speaker 6: A great quarterback, but he's probably your best option, and
- 3:05Speaker 6: he costs you nothing. You're going to have to flush
- 3:07Speaker 6: this season. It is what it is, and I don't
- 3:13Speaker 6: know how you can trust Jackson Dart going into next year,
- 3:18Speaker 6: considering now this is year two with him having a
- 3:21Speaker 6: season-ending injury.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Right, very tricky decisions for the Giants to make here.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And I'm with you. I think they probably should just
- 3:28Speaker 3: stay the.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Course with Jameis. I mean, you gave him all that money.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You trust him to be your backup. The locker room
- 3:35Speaker 1: loves the guy.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I mean, why not?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Just see how it goes. Listen, you're going to have
- 3:39Speaker 1: some great moments. You're going to have some bad moments.
- 3:42Speaker 1: That's the Jameis experience. Hopefully you have more great moments
- 3:45Speaker 1: than bad moments and you find yourself in the playoffs
- 3:47Speaker 1: in a wild card spot, you know?
- 3:49Speaker 4: So I have a couple of names here that have
- 3:50Speaker 4: been thrown out as potential options for the Giants.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Okay.
- 3:53Speaker 4: And you guys just tell me if it's a needle mover.
- 3:57Speaker 4: If you're the New York Giants front office, if you're
- 3:58Speaker 4: Joe Shane and the Giants, does this name matter? Move
- 4:02Speaker 4: the needle enough to say, let's go out and get them.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:04Speaker 1: These are just names being thrown about? Like no one's
- 4:07Speaker 1: reporting this? People are just throwing it out there?
- 4:09Speaker 4: Names being thrown about, yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Okay. See what sticks?
- 4:13Speaker 5: I got it.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Okay. Let's go.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Calling the Vikings and asking for J.J. McCarthy.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Wow.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I mean, you can call the Vikings and ask for
- 4:22Speaker 1: Carson Wentz or Kyler Murray.
- 4:26Speaker 3: If you really wanted to. J.J. McCarthy, let's stay with
- 4:29Speaker 3: the game. I would not do that if I'm the Giants.
- 4:31Speaker 4: And, Mikey, there is at least the Harbaugh connection there
- 4:34Speaker 4: where Jim Harbaugh at Michigan was like, oh, J.J. McCarthy
- 4:38Speaker 4: is going to be the greatest college quarterback ever.
- 4:40Speaker 7: Right.
- 4:41Speaker 4: And then now maybe John gets him as his NFL quarterback.
- 4:45Speaker 1: But I would say if Kevin O'Connell has given up
- 4:47Speaker 1: on you as a quarterback, you're probably not a good
- 4:50Speaker 1: quarterback unless you're Sam Darnold.
- 4:53Speaker 6: I also– First off quarterback risk to whisper Kevin O'Connell,
- 4:58Speaker 6: put some respect on his name. I also love the
- 5:00Speaker 6: idea of John calling Jim and being like, Hey, so, uh,
- 5:03Speaker 6: I got a chance to go get JJ McCarthy here.
- 5:05Speaker 6: And Jim going like, yeah, don't do that.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Don't do it. I was totally messing with everybody.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's the greatest coaching job I've ever done, winning a
- 5:14Speaker 1: championship with that guy.
- 5:15Speaker 5: And getting him drafted in the first round. Yeah, it
- 5:19Speaker 5: doesn't move the needle.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Also, Jim Harbaugh, you had all the signals when you
- 5:23Speaker 4: were at Michigan. And all of a sudden, you don't
- 5:24Speaker 4: have the signals in Connor Stallion anymore. And you can't
- 5:26Speaker 4: even beat Jacoby Brissett and Kirk Cousins in Vegas?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Wait, so can we hold up just a second here?
- 5:32Speaker 1: How much do you think you would have to give
- 5:34Speaker 1: up to get J.J.
- 5:35Speaker 3: McCarthy?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Because there's always that coach that thinks, I'm the guy
- 5:38Speaker 1: who can make that guy what he's supposed to be.
- 5:41Speaker 3: So what do you think they would have to give up?
- 5:43Speaker 3: Is it worth it, is what I'm asking.
- 5:45Speaker 6: I think you are two years removed. From them giving
- 5:50Speaker 6: up not only a first-round pick, but I believe a
- 5:53Speaker 6: third-round pick because they traded up to get J.J. McCarthy.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:57Speaker 5: I don't know how you can.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Look at someone in the mirror and not at least
- 6:01Speaker 6: get a fourth-round pick.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:03Speaker 6: Maybe a fifth, a conditional fourth, maybe. And it's just
- 6:07Speaker 6: not worth it.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Like a fourth or a fifth for a quarterback that
- 6:10Speaker 3: could save the season? I mean... A.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Fifth-round pick that could be a fourth if he does X, Y,
- 6:15Speaker 6: and Z.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Right.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I could see that happening, but... I mean, what have
- 6:19Speaker 6: you seen to make you think he's.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Saving the season?
- 6:22Speaker 3: Yeah, nothing.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Not only is he.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Saving the season, he's going to save the season starting
- 6:26Speaker 6: in week three.
- 6:27Speaker 3: All right, let's get to the next game. All right, sold.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 6:30Speaker 4: The next names you're going to bunch together here because
- 6:33Speaker 4: they're all kind of unproven.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Jalen Milrow from the Seahawks. Anthony Richardson from the Colts.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Richardson, that's the guy right there. That's intriguing.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I don't think Steichen would give him up, though, because
- 6:46Speaker 1: Danny Dimes.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Could get hurt, and then he needs a backup. What
- 6:49Speaker 3: do you think here, Mikey?
- 6:52Speaker 5: Anthony Richardson might move the needle.
- 6:55Speaker 6: He might move the needle because you could play a
- 6:58Speaker 6: different sort of football if you get Anthony Richardson and
- 7:02Speaker 6: just say, We're going to hope to win with our
- 7:04Speaker 6: defense and running the ball behind two of the biggest
- 7:07Speaker 6: people that get to carry the ball in the NFL
- 7:11Speaker 6: in Anthony Richardson and Cam Scadaboo.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I just don't think the Colts could do it because,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I mean, imagine if Anthony Richardson turns into the quarterback
- 7:20Speaker 1: we all thought he was going to be and he
- 7:22Speaker 1: doesn't do it in a Colts uniform.
- 7:24Speaker 3: It's not worth it for the Colts, I don't think.
- 7:25Speaker 3: You know, does that make sense?
- 7:27Speaker 4: So even if you guys are making the argument for
- 7:30Speaker 4: Anthony Richardson could potentially be a needle mover, okay, I'll
- 7:33Speaker 4: concede a little. I'll give up a little there. One
- 7:38Speaker 4: of the options I heard was maybe one of the
- 7:40Speaker 4: worst options I've heard ever. for any sports conversation. It's
- 7:44Speaker 4: bringing somebody back to that building, bringing somebody back who
- 7:47Speaker 4: has been out of football, kind of forgetting what he
- 7:50Speaker 4: was at the end of his Giants tenure, bringing Russell
- 7:53Speaker 4: Wilson off a TV set to be your Giants quarterback.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I don't know. I kind of like it.
- 7:58Speaker 2: What?
- 7:58Speaker 5: I'd rather bring back Eli.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I'm all for the entertainment, Taylor. Don't you know that?
- 8:04Speaker 1: Put it on the poll. If you're the Giants, do
- 8:07Speaker 1: you bring back Russell Wilson or Eli Manning?
- 8:10Speaker 4: If you're John Harbaugh and you open the door and
- 8:14Speaker 4: what's there to save your season behind door A, if
- 8:17Speaker 4: this was the Price is Right, is Russell Wilson. Close
- 8:20Speaker 4: that door. Pack your bags. You're toast.
- 8:23Speaker 3: It's over.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but I kind of like these stories where Phillip
- 8:26Speaker 1: Rivers comes back and he plays, and I think it
- 8:28Speaker 1: was Drew Brees who was thinking about playing for Denver
- 8:31Speaker 1: when Bo Nix went down.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I love that. Like, it's fun. It's entertainment. Who was
- 8:35Speaker 3: the name you said before Anthony Richardson? We just glossed
- 8:39Speaker 3: over it.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Jalen Milrow. Just because Drew Locke is killing it in Seattle.
- 8:44Speaker 3: He is, yes, a floaty.
- 8:45Speaker 6: There's only one name that's going to move the needle
- 8:48Speaker 6: more than Anthony Richardson that you haven't given us yet.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I think I might have it.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Phil Simms?
- 8:55Speaker 5: It's not a Giants connection, but it is a Harbaugh connection.
- 8:58Speaker 3: All right, let's hear it. Oh, wow.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I don't have it then because I was going to
- 9:01Speaker 4: say of the available guys.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Yes, I know it. It's Joe Flacco.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Yes. It's Joe Flacco.
- 9:07Speaker 3: It's Joe Flacco.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:09Speaker 5: It's Joe Flacco.
- 9:09Speaker 3: It's Joe Flacco.
- 9:10Speaker 6: How many times does Joe Flacco have to come into
- 9:13Speaker 6: an organization, keep them afloat, go, hey, Joe Flacco's pretty good,
- 9:18Speaker 6: before you go.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Maybe we just ride that way.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys watched that quarterback show
- 9:24Speaker 1: on Netflix this offseason, but if you saw how excited
- 9:28Speaker 1: Flacco was to leave Cleveland and go to Cincinnati, it's
- 9:31Speaker 1: the day I drove back home to record a podcast,
- 9:34Speaker 1: an emergency pod, because Flacco was going to Cincinnati.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Do you know how excited Flacco.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Would be to be reunited with John Harbaugh and give
- 9:42Speaker 1: the Giants a chance of making the playoffs?
- 9:45Speaker 3: Oh, that'd be great. But then Burrow goes down and
- 9:47Speaker 3: the Bengals don't have a backup.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what you're running into right now, where all
- 9:51Speaker 4: coaches around the NFL are probably holding on to their
- 9:54Speaker 4: backup quarterbacks a little tighter, saying, we we can't afford
- 9:58Speaker 4: to give the giants our backup quarterback in case our
- 10:01Speaker 4: quarterback goes down because stew i i think the the
- 10:04Speaker 4: crown jewel in the in-season quarterback market would be going
- 10:07Speaker 4: to san francisco and trying to convince kyle shanahan to
- 10:10Speaker 4: give up on mac jones uh.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah but he's not going to no there's no.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Way yes There is no way any team is going
- 10:18Speaker 6: to try and trade their backup quarterback because we're in week–
- 10:20Speaker 6: we just finished week two and six started quarterbacks have
- 10:24Speaker 6: gotten hurt. Six have been– are missing games, maybe some
- 10:29Speaker 6: missing the entire season. If we've learned anything in watching
- 10:33Speaker 6: two weeks, it's you should have a good backup quarterback.
- 10:36Speaker 4: And the team that probably has the most backup quarterbacks
- 10:39Speaker 4: where they have the most wiggle room to try to
- 10:41Speaker 4: move somebody, then you're running into the in-division aspect of
- 10:45Speaker 4: it where the Eagles behind Jalen Hurts, you have Andy
- 10:47Speaker 4: Dalton and Tanner McKee. If Howie Roseman thought either one
- 10:51Speaker 4: of those two guys was anything, he is not picking
- 10:53Speaker 4: up the phone and trading one of them to Joe Shane.
- 10:55Speaker 3: What if they offered him a first-round pick?
- 10:58Speaker 4: For Andy Dalton?
- 10:59Speaker 2: The Red Rifle.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I'm just saying. You're saying there's no scenario.
- 11:02Speaker 1: And I'm just trying to present a scenario in which
- 11:04Speaker 1: Howie Roseman just might say yes.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I'm just saying. But the Giants would never do that.
- 11:09Speaker 3: It's ridiculous.
- 11:10Speaker 5: And you're right.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Howie Roseman, if he thought Andy Dalton was going to
- 11:13Speaker 1: come back to bite him, he would not make that trade.
- 11:16Speaker 5: No way. Okay.
- 11:17Speaker 6: What if the trade is a fourth-round pick unless you
- 11:21Speaker 6: make the playoffs, then it's a first-round pick? Would you
- 11:24Speaker 6: take that deal if you're the Giants?
- 11:26Speaker 3: That's a Roseman type of deal right there.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I mean, just hoodwinking the Giants.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So I want to be clear on what you're saying.
- 11:33Speaker 1: We're going to give you Andy Dalton. You give us
- 11:35Speaker 1: a fourth-round pick. If Dalton makes it to the playoffs
- 11:39Speaker 1: with you as the starting quarterback, that fourth-round pick becomes
- 11:42Speaker 1: a first-round pick.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Wow, what a great deal.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Would you do that deal if you're the Giants?
- 11:49Speaker 4: I don't even think it's a question. Like you, you
- 11:51Speaker 4: hang up the phone as fast as possible. If Andy
- 11:54Speaker 4: Dalton gets you into the play, I get.
- 11:56Speaker 5: To the play.
- 11:56Speaker 3: But then Howie Roseman is.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Going to let him in.
- 12:00Speaker 4: If Andy Dalton gets you into the playoffs, if you're
- 12:03Speaker 4: this Giants team, realistically, you're what? Nine and eight at
- 12:07Speaker 4: best case scenario.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 12:09Speaker 4: And you're going to get bounced in one of the
- 12:10Speaker 4: first two rounds. And then you're, you're dealing with a
- 12:13Speaker 4: Jackson dart coming back from an injury and you don't
- 12:16Speaker 4: even have a first round pick to build around anymore.
- 12:20Speaker 5: You're, you're building around the 22nd pick. If you get
- 12:24Speaker 5: perhaps in the first round of the playoffs, 21st, 22nd pick.
- 12:27Speaker 5: It's not, it's not, we're not talking to top 10
- 12:29Speaker 5: pick cause you made the playoffs.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Do you call the Raiders and just say, Hey, when
- 12:32Speaker 3: do you plan on benching Kirk cousins?
- 12:34Speaker 4: I mean, No time soon, I'll tell you that.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Not if they keep winning. No, not happening.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Do you call the Browns Shador Sanders?
- 12:43Speaker 1: I mean, no.
- 12:46Speaker 4: That was one of the names I had listed.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:48Speaker 4: But you would assume that he's got to start soon.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I know everybody's doing the, oh, what a redemption story
- 12:54Speaker 4: for Deshaun Watson. Give me a break about the redemption
- 12:56Speaker 4: story with Deshaun Watson at your quarterback. Eventually, Shador Sanders
- 13:00Speaker 4: is going to start for Cleveland.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 13:03Speaker 6: Can you call the Browns and get like a group
- 13:05Speaker 6: discount and get like three of their backup quarterbacks for
- 13:07Speaker 6: like the price of one?
- 13:10Speaker 5: We'll just take a few of them and we'll see.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:13Speaker 1: How do you guys feel about the fact that I
- 13:15Speaker 1: lost Jackson Dart? He was one of my fantasy quarterbacks
- 13:18Speaker 1: and I picked up Deshaun Watson.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I didn't feel good about it. I did it with
- 13:21Speaker 3: my eyes closed. I was holding my nose.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I'd rather not start a quarterback.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Do you want to hear my other choice? It's Michael Penix.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Charles McDonald is the host of The Athletic Live. We'll
- 13:45Speaker 3: get to Jackson Dart and everything going on in the NFL.
- 13:48Speaker 1: But I have to ask you, Charles, where are you
- 13:49Speaker 1: doing this from?
- 13:50Speaker 5: I mean, what is going on right now?
- 13:53Speaker 2: So I live in Los Angeles now. I would say
- 13:57Speaker 2: I live here, but I haven't quite moved here just yet.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You know, I was in a hotel last week. I'm
- 14:01Speaker 2: in an Airbnb this week, but I'm not in an alleyway.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'm actually in the backyard of this Airbnb. But I
- 14:08Speaker 2: get to stay in this bungalow right here. I don't
- 14:10Speaker 2: get to go inside the house. Right. So, yeah. So
- 14:13Speaker 2: I've been, you know, just walking around, taking my little
- 14:16Speaker 2: smoke breaks, looking at the Hollywood sign from the top
- 14:18Speaker 2: of the mountain here and trying not to go insane.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, luckily the athletic, they were very, very
- 14:25Speaker 2: kind to me and they put me up in places
- 14:27Speaker 2: I'm not paying for myself.
- 14:29Speaker 7: Right.
- 14:29Speaker 2: But there's still a little piece of you that dies
- 14:31Speaker 2: every day you live out of a suitcase.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I'm hoping to get into– not hoping. I'm going to
- 14:37Speaker 2: be in an apartment next week, and then I'm going
- 14:39Speaker 2: to have my dad send me all my stuff like
- 14:41Speaker 2: good fathers do.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Taylor, put it on the poll. Does a piece of
- 14:44Speaker 3: you die every day you live out of a suitcase?
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah. What is today's date? September 23rd?
- 14:52Speaker 5: 23rd, yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, the 23rd.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Okay. So I've been living out of a suitcase since
- 14:56Speaker 2: let's call it like August 22nd.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'm basically dead. Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I feel like you and I are similar in this regard.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I love the bungalow in the back. I don't want
- 15:10Speaker 1: to be in the main house. I like a little
- 15:12Speaker 1: pool house, a bungalow, some sort of shed in the back.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Smoke breaks, do whatever the hell I want.
- 15:17Speaker 3: No one's watching. What do you think?
- 15:19Speaker 2: No, it's perfect. They have a little outdoor space behind
- 15:21Speaker 2: the bungalow, which is where I do my little smoke
- 15:24Speaker 2: breaks or when I get insomnia. It's really not that bad.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I will say this. If the weather was worse, I
- 15:31Speaker 2: would be miserable. I would have told Tyler to fuck
- 15:33Speaker 2: off today, for sure. But it's beautiful outside. It's beautiful
- 15:37Speaker 2: every day. It gives me reason to keep living, you know?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Jackson Dart, how surprised were you just based on what
- 15:44Speaker 1: you saw and based on him kind of walking around
- 15:47Speaker 1: the sideline and shaking hands and letting everyone know, hey,
- 15:50Speaker 1: looks like I'm going to be okay.
- 15:51Speaker 3: How surprised were you to hear that news about Dart?
- 15:54Speaker 3: It looks like he'll be out for the season.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I'm not really surprised based on how, like, the way
- 15:59Speaker 2: his knee bent during that game. It was funny that
- 16:02Speaker 2: we were, we were, we do our live watch-alongs for
- 16:05Speaker 2: the athletic live show and Max Brown, who played quarterback
- 16:08Speaker 2: at USC, he's on the show with me. And he
- 16:11Speaker 2: was like, oh, you know, Dart said he could have
- 16:13Speaker 2: gone back in that game. I was like, man. if
- 16:15Speaker 2: any player that doesn't matter, it's Jackson Dart. Like, he
- 16:19Speaker 2: would probably go out there if his leg was, like,
- 16:21Speaker 2: actually hanging off the bones. And I was like, man, like,
- 16:23Speaker 2: that was a pretty bad hit. And also, even when
- 16:26Speaker 2: you get, like, the first, like, diagnosis of an MCL sprain, like,
- 16:31Speaker 2: you can still be out for the season just for, like,
- 16:33Speaker 2: an MCL issue. And then, unfortunately, we see the actual
- 16:36Speaker 2: problem is, like, a meniscus tear, which is a big
- 16:38Speaker 2: problem for the Giants because Jameis Winston, he certainly looked
- 16:41Speaker 2: like a guy who was on TV all summer, you know? Like...
- 16:47Speaker 2: After the game was over, one of my buddies texted me.
- 16:48Speaker 2: He's like, I thought Jameis was retired. Like, wasn't he
- 16:51Speaker 2: doing World Cup coverage? I was like, yeah. Yeah, he was.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And now he's going to be quarterbacking the New York
- 16:56Speaker 2: Giants for the rest of the season. And if he
- 16:58Speaker 2: looked like... If Monday's game was any indication that this
- 17:02Speaker 2: is about to be a really long season for Giants fans,
- 17:05Speaker 2: I don't know. It's tough. But, yeah. I mean, obviously,
- 17:08Speaker 2: whenever it's someone like Jackson Duggan-Turkey, you never want to
- 17:10Speaker 2: see that.
- 17:11Speaker 3: But, yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 2: He's like one of those guys where it's like just
- 17:13Speaker 2: because he said he was feeling good does not mean
- 17:15Speaker 2: that he was actually good you know.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah but it was great because he made caleb williams
- 17:19Speaker 3: look so bad.
- 17:20Speaker 7: I mean okay okay i i can't defend caleb on
- 17:26Speaker 7: that one because that was a lot but i will
- 17:28Speaker 7: defend the bears if i was the bears the last
- 17:32Speaker 7: time they had like a true legitimate franchise quarterback was
- 17:36Speaker 7: World War II, okay?
- 17:39Speaker 2: If anyone looks at Caleb Williams the wrong way, put
- 17:42Speaker 2: him on the cart. If someone breathes on him the
- 17:44Speaker 2: wrong way, put him on the cart. And yeah, the
- 17:46Speaker 2: grade one hamstring with the fist pound leaving on the cart,
- 17:50Speaker 2: that was a bit much, though.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I have to apologize to Mikey A.
- 17:54Speaker 5: He was going to swoop in.
- 17:55Speaker 1: With that joke, and I held him off, and I
- 17:58Speaker 1: came in with, I'm sorry, dude, he's mad at me.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Charles, he's mad at me.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Why? Why?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Why? Because he was going to make the same joke
- 18:06Speaker 3: that I made, you know?
- 18:09Speaker 5: He big-timed me. He gave me a no, I've got
- 18:11Speaker 5: the next follow-up.
- 18:12Speaker 6: I'm like, no, I'll hold my joke, and then he
- 18:15Speaker 6: just took it.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Now I'm like, all right, I got nothing else.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I'm surprised Taylor didn't write that one. Taylor's been showing
- 18:21Speaker 2: us some funny stuff in our little college football group
- 18:24Speaker 2: chat of how he's getting you to say some very
- 18:26Speaker 2: silly things.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Always bashing Dan Orlowski.
- 18:31Speaker 3: But we love Dan Erland.
- 18:32Speaker 4: We love Dan Erland. Charles, if you're the Giants, a
- 18:36Speaker 4: lot of people are doing the thing today saying, like,
- 18:39Speaker 4: who could the Giants bring in? Do you just have
- 18:41Speaker 4: to hope that Jameis Winston just got, like, pop quizzed
- 18:44Speaker 4: if this was like a school? And now if you
- 18:46Speaker 4: give him some time to prepare for the test, he
- 18:48Speaker 4: might do well?
- 18:49Speaker 2: Do well? On what wavelength are we talking about?
- 18:53Speaker 5: Passing?
- 18:54Speaker 2: I do think he'll play better than he did on Monday.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Well, you can't play worse.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Right, right. It'll be hard to see worse. That was
- 19:02Speaker 2: absolutely a guy who was like, damn, I haven't even
- 19:05Speaker 2: been covering football this offseason. The other football. And now
- 19:09Speaker 2: I'm playing in a game against Aaron Donald in the Rams? No, no, sir.
- 19:12Speaker 2: That didn't look good. But I think he'll get better
- 19:15Speaker 2: because he's one of those guys where If he closes
- 19:18Speaker 2: his eyes and flings the ball just accurately enough, then
- 19:21Speaker 2: he can actually make some plays down the field and
- 19:24Speaker 2: stuff like that. But the problem is he was just
- 19:26Speaker 2: so inaccurate on Sunday. And now I've got Giants fans
- 19:30Speaker 2: texting me like, oh, are we going to draft a
- 19:32Speaker 2: quarterback next year? I'm like, whoa, it's been a few hours.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, hold on. But no, they're going
- 19:39Speaker 2: to lose a lot of games this year. That defense sucks.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And sorry, so does James right now.
- 19:44Speaker 3: We'll get to overrated, underrated, or properly rated in just
- 19:47Speaker 3: a second. No one's ever played that game on radio before.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Or podcast uh but we're gonna we're gonna play it
- 19:53Speaker 1: with you in just a second You're a Falcons fan,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and I'm wondering, does anyone want to play quarterback for
- 19:58Speaker 1: that team?
- 19:58Speaker 3: I mean, anyone?
- 20:00Speaker 5: No.
- 20:00Speaker 2: No.
- 20:00Speaker 5: No.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Well, I guess Cooper Rush does. Yes. Because it's an opportunity.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Right. But poorly.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Right. Poorly. Dude, that game pissed me the * * * *
- 20:08Speaker 2: this weekend. I can't even lie. I was past getting
- 20:13Speaker 2: mad at some of this stuff, and I knew the
- 20:14Speaker 2: season was going to be long and bad, but... Not
- 20:17Speaker 2: like that, you know? Like, three points against the Panthers.
- 20:20Speaker 2: They just gave up 59 last week, and you can't
- 20:22Speaker 2: get in the end zone one time. They've run zero
- 20:24Speaker 2: red zone plays the entire season. Like, they're so goddamn bad.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And then people ask me, like, oh, Mike Penix is
- 20:31Speaker 2: going to come back. Who gives a crap about Mike Penix, man? Like, what?
- 20:35Speaker 2: What is that supposed to say? If you're a Drake
- 20:38Speaker 2: London fan and see on her cool, like maybe that's
- 20:39Speaker 2: good for you. But for me, no, it's all bad.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I didn't, I knew they were going to lose a
- 20:44Speaker 2: lot of games. I knew they were going to suck,
- 20:45Speaker 2: but I didn't expect it to be this bad. And
- 20:47Speaker 2: last night on the show, we had Sean Payton's daughter
- 20:50Speaker 2: sitting next to me during that Giants game. And she
- 20:52Speaker 2: was trolling me about the Falcons. I had the spawn
- 20:58Speaker 2: of Satan sitting next to me. She's a lovely person.
- 21:00Speaker 2: She's great. But you know, Her dad ruined my teenage years,
- 21:04Speaker 2: many Sundays, ruined by that man. And I couldn't even
- 21:07Speaker 2: have my comeuppance because Cooper Rush is my goddamn quarterback
- 21:10Speaker 2: right now.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Charles, how did you feel about the Falcons fan that
- 21:13Speaker 4: brought a sign to the game that said, we want Strand?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Get a life. I mean, come on.
- 21:18Speaker 2: That's how I feel. Get a life, dude. Come on.
- 21:23Speaker 2: If any Falcons fan knew what University of Minnesota Moorhead
- 21:27Speaker 2: was before August, hat tip to you. But I don't
- 21:30Speaker 2: give a crap about this guy. Oh, he's 6'5, 240,
- 21:32Speaker 2: and he's got an arm. Well, if he was any good,
- 21:34Speaker 2: he wouldn't be playing there. Someone would have given the
- 21:36Speaker 2: NL back to go play at some big-time school or
- 21:39Speaker 2: something like that. And then... When he threw a pick
- 21:41Speaker 2: on his first pass, I was like, oh, man, that
- 21:44Speaker 2: was pretty bad. And then it got worse, because I
- 21:46Speaker 2: don't know if you saw the fumble that he had
- 21:48Speaker 2: on the last play of the game, where he was
- 21:50Speaker 2: about to throw a screen pass, untouched, and the ball
- 21:53Speaker 2: just slipped out of his hands for a fumble to
- 21:55Speaker 2: end the game. So, I mean, I don't give a
- 21:57Speaker 2: crap about Cooper Rush, Jack Strand, Tua, Michael Penix. I
- 22:02Speaker 2: started off with Matt Ryan throwing a 62-yard pass. on
- 22:05Speaker 2: the first throw of his career. Before that, I had
- 22:07Speaker 2: Mike Vick. So I need a little bit more before
- 22:09Speaker 2: you get my loyalty. Hopefully we're going to get somebody
- 22:11Speaker 2: in the draft next year that just doesn't suck or
- 22:13Speaker 2: has two knees and a working back.
- 22:14Speaker 1: But Charles, what is so funny and frustrating, I guess,
- 22:16Speaker 1: if you're a Falcons fan, is do you know how
- 22:18Speaker 1: many quarterbacks.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Would leave their current team to go play with those
- 22:21Speaker 3: guys in Atlanta?
- 22:23Speaker 2: I know. That pisses me off. I'm watching Drake London
- 22:27Speaker 2: get open and then the ball soaring over his head.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Kyle Pitts, he caught his first pass of the season
- 22:34Speaker 2: on Sunday, and he was wide open. He's 6'6. He's
- 22:37Speaker 2: almost 6'7. And he had the skyscraper up to go
- 22:40Speaker 2: get the ball from Cooper Rush.
- 22:42Speaker 3: All right, Charles, let's get to overrated, underrated, or properly rated.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I am told that we have music for this, which
- 22:48Speaker 1: I'm super– no imaging, just music, baby steps.
- 22:51Speaker 3: We'll get there. But let's have Taylor take it away here. Taylor,
- 22:54Speaker 3: get us started.
- 22:55Speaker 4: So, Charles, I'm going to give you takes from after
- 22:58Speaker 4: week two, and you have to say whether they're overrated, underrated,
- 23:02Speaker 4: or properly rated as a take.
- 23:05Speaker 2: No one's ever done this before.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Never in the history of radio.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Trailblazers, man.
- 23:11Speaker 2: That's right.
- 23:12Speaker 4: The first one is the Texans, despite being 0-2, are fine. Overrated, underrated,
- 23:19Speaker 4: or properly rated?
- 23:21Speaker 6: Wait, what?
- 23:21Speaker 2: I'm going to say properly rated for all these because
- 23:24Speaker 2: these are my tanks.
- 23:25Speaker 4: We'll workshop some in.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yes, we'll workshop some in. I got one.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yes. As they properly rated, I think their offense has
- 23:34Speaker 2: actually been okay throughout the first portion of the season.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Like CJ Shroud has actually bounced back no matter how
- 23:40Speaker 2: many times Taylor says he hates him. And he sucks.
- 23:43Speaker 2: He's bounced back this season so far. And I think
- 23:47Speaker 2: last week, I guess, who did they play? The Bengals
- 23:50Speaker 2: last week. I mean, that Bengals defense is pretty good.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think that's actually one of the stories of the
- 23:55Speaker 2: season so far, that the Bengals defense looks like, you know,
- 23:58Speaker 2: they got some adults in the room and it's actually working.
- 24:01Speaker 2: But I think as far as Cesar Stroud goes, he's
- 24:04Speaker 2: been playing better. As long as they can stay healthy,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I think the points will come because they've been moving
- 24:08Speaker 2: the ball really well. It's just kind of been sputtering
- 24:12Speaker 2: out in the red zone.
- 24:13Speaker 6: Okay, overrated, underrated, properly rated. The Miami Dolphins will go
- 24:18Speaker 6: winless this season.
- 24:21Speaker 3: They're going for it.
- 24:21Speaker 2: They are, man. They are going for it. Do they
- 24:24Speaker 2: play the Falcons this year? I think they might. They don't.
- 24:31Speaker 5: To a revenge game.
- 24:32Speaker 2: To a revenge game? No, okay, yeah. So, man, that
- 24:36Speaker 2: might be a problem. Man, I think I'll go properly
- 24:39Speaker 2: rated just because they look awful, dude. Like I saw
- 24:43Speaker 2: something that Malik Willis only has like eight runs on
- 24:46Speaker 2: the season so far, which is like, man, you might
- 24:48Speaker 2: be trying to lose if that's the case, because everything
- 24:51Speaker 2: else looks so bad.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson is going to be the starting quarterback for
- 24:56Speaker 1: the Browns for the remainder of the season.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Overrated, underrated, properly rated.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Properly rated. I've been saying this since since April or
- 25:03Speaker 2: not since April, since since January before that. I think
- 25:06Speaker 2: Jimmy Haslam is a very crude man. And he I
- 25:11Speaker 2: know he looked at that quarterback room and said he
- 25:13Speaker 2: saw at the time Deshaun Watson, Shador Sanders, Dylan Gabriel said,
- 25:18Speaker 2: all of you guys stink. But I've only paid one
- 25:20Speaker 2: of you guys, you know, 250 million dollars. So that
- 25:22Speaker 2: guy's going to play. And now that Deshaun has had
- 25:25Speaker 2: his first good game as a Brown, maybe there's one. from, like,
- 25:29Speaker 2: the Ravens, like, his first year there. But you got
- 25:32Speaker 2: one of the best games by a Browns quarterback in
- 25:33Speaker 2: a long time. He's going to start the rest of
- 25:35Speaker 2: the season. And I got to warn people, the best
- 25:38Speaker 2: case scenario for Jimmy Haslam here is that Deshaun Watson
- 25:42Speaker 2: is good enough for a contract extension so that he
- 25:45Speaker 2: can offload some of this dead cap in some of
- 25:48Speaker 2: these void years after– because right now they're still on
- 25:50Speaker 2: the hook for, like, $ 40 million to $ 50 million on
- 25:52Speaker 2: Deshaun for multiple years after his contract expires. The best
- 25:56Speaker 2: way to clean it up is with a contract extension,
- 25:57Speaker 2: which means Deshaun needs to play well enough for that
- 26:00Speaker 2: to happen. It's really grim.
- 26:02Speaker 6: In a draft that saw Cam Ward go number one
- 26:05Speaker 6: and Jackson Dart go in the first round, Tyler Shuck
- 26:09Speaker 6: is the best quarterback.
- 26:10Speaker 5: In that draft class. Overrated, underrated, properly rated.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Overrated.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I'm just never going to.
- 26:15Speaker 3: He's a Falcons fan, right?
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, come on.
- 26:18Speaker 5: I wanted to make him say it.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Look, he's obviously playing the best out of those guys
- 26:24Speaker 2: right now, but overrated until he's not on that wretched team.
- 26:28Speaker 2: That's it. That simple.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Charles, what about this take? The Vegas Raiders have two
- 26:34Speaker 4: quarterbacks better than Justin Herbert.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I love that.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Overrated, underrated, or properly rated.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Properly. Properly rated. Where's crazy? Where's get off the internet?
- 26:48Speaker 2: The log off Twitter rated. That's what you need to do.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Get out of your goddamn mind.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Right.
- 26:53Speaker 5: No.
- 26:54Speaker 2: See, but all in real life, I kind of don't
- 26:56Speaker 2: get the Justin Herbert hate. Like, who is this directed at?
- 26:59Speaker 2: in general. Does anyone think he's as good as Patrick
- 27:02Speaker 2: Mahomes or anything?
- 27:03Speaker 5: No?
- 27:04Speaker 3: No.
- 27:04Speaker 2: He's on the Dak Prescott tier of quarterbacks. Dak played
- 27:07Speaker 2: like crap against the Giants. They played well this past week.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I kind of don't get all the Herbert I guess, angst, because, like,
- 27:16Speaker 2: he's liable to have bad games because he's not one of, like,
- 27:19Speaker 2: the top, top elite guys in the game. So, like,
- 27:22Speaker 2: if he sucks for two games in a row, I
- 27:24Speaker 2: think that's just bad timing. But they'll, like, they'll figure
- 27:26Speaker 2: it out, and they'll get to the playoffs, and they'll
- 27:27Speaker 2: get waxed in the first round, like always.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Stu, if I could peel back the curtain a bit.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Please.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Me and Charles are in a college football group chat together.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:34Speaker 4: And I kind of just throw takes out there as bait.
- 27:37Speaker 4: And when Charles latches onto one that angrily, I'm like, oh, man,
- 27:41Speaker 4: we got something.
- 27:42Speaker 2: No, you're good at it, too.
- 27:44Speaker 5: You're good at it, too.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Like, I'll be minding my business, like, having a good day,
- 27:47Speaker 2: and then I'll just see Taylor, oh, let's rank all
- 27:50Speaker 2: UNC quarterbacks and, like, why Sam Howell's underrated. I'm like, dude,
- 27:53Speaker 2: I'm going to jump to my phone and kill you.
- 27:55Speaker 2: What is this?
- 27:56Speaker 3: I'm trying to take a stroll. I'm trying to enjoy
- 27:58Speaker 3: a smoke.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Leave me alone. I don't want to talk about Sam Howell.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about Mr. Biskey or Marquise Williams. Like, no.
- 28:08Speaker 5: That's Taylor's version of fishing. Let me just throw this
- 28:11Speaker 5: out there and see if I can catch anything.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Some chum in the water, yes.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he got me the other day. Like,
- 28:17Speaker 2: Cesar Strauss had a good game, and Cesar had one
- 28:19Speaker 2: bad play. Taylor Bipolis, Cesar Strauss sucks. Like, dude, no,
- 28:23Speaker 2: that's rage bait, and it works. It is rage bait.
- 28:27Speaker 3: All right, a couple more, and we'll get you out
- 28:28Speaker 3: of here.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Uh caleb williams we made fun of him earlier but
- 28:32Speaker 1: i have said he's going to be the greatest quarterback
- 28:34Speaker 1: in nfl history overrated underrated or properly rated.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Oh man uh.
- 28:41Speaker 3: He's good you're thinking about it man.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I don't want to outright say no because he could
- 28:48Speaker 2: be yes you know like that that game against the
- 28:50Speaker 2: panthers was incredible um and you got you got to
- 28:53Speaker 2: see the stark difference between the quarterback like caleb williams
- 28:55Speaker 2: the quarterback like cooper rush uh following week but i
- 28:58Speaker 2: digress uh i i i think caleb you know if
- 29:02Speaker 2: he if people can just uh just let go of
- 29:05Speaker 2: maybe some of their feelings towards him. They can get
- 29:07Speaker 2: close to these two guys and say, yeah, he could
- 29:09Speaker 2: be one of the best quarterbacks ever. Like when this
- 29:11Speaker 2: is said and done, I don't know if, if, if
- 29:15Speaker 2: he'll get, you know, the seven Superbowl rinks, but I
- 29:17Speaker 2: do think if he can be the first Bears quarterback
- 29:20Speaker 2: to throw for 4,000 yards, why not? Yeah.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Why not?
- 29:23Speaker 2: That definitely makes him like top five at least.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Yes. You're right. Just that.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Charles going with the New York Jets after Aaron Glenn's
- 29:32Speaker 4: clock mismanagement, It's over for Aaron Glenn. He might not
- 29:36Speaker 4: get fired today. He might not get fired tomorrow. But
- 29:39Speaker 4: there's no coming back.
- 29:40Speaker 2: For him. There's no coming back for him. He's 1-1.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yeah, right. Yes. Well, we should be 2-0, though.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I mean, we should be.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I will agree with you. Should be 2-0. Yes. But
- 29:50Speaker 2: this team is so much better than it was last year.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to say he's done,
- 29:55Speaker 2: but I did just watch Raheem Morris' season where he
- 29:58Speaker 2: had similar clock management blunders. And even though... They didn't
- 30:02Speaker 2: lose every game. Yeah, he still had to go at
- 30:04Speaker 2: the end of the year. So, look, if I was
- 30:05Speaker 2: a Jets fan, I would have mixed feelings about this
- 30:08Speaker 2: whole Aaron Glenn situation. Obviously, the team's gotten better. They're
- 30:11Speaker 2: a lot better than last year. David Daly looks like
- 30:13Speaker 2: he's going to be a star. I think that that
- 30:15Speaker 2: pick looks like a win. But, dude, some of these coaches,
- 30:19Speaker 2: they spend so much time on– Like the football things
- 30:22Speaker 2: that they forget how to count to three and they
- 30:25Speaker 2: can't use their timeouts effectively. And I think, yeah, he
- 30:28Speaker 2: had one of those blunders the other day, unfortunately, which
- 30:30Speaker 2: sucks to see because they absolutely should have won that game.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Two more. We'll get you out of here. Fernando Mendoza
- 30:35Speaker 3: will not start a game this year for the Raiders.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Oh, that's ridiculous. Underrated.
- 30:40Speaker 3: I mean, they're in the playoff hunt. I mean, it's
- 30:42Speaker 3: two weeks in.
- 30:42Speaker 2: You know, I wanted to say, that's ridiculous because I, well, no,
- 30:50Speaker 2: I want to say, I did say that. I did
- 30:52Speaker 2: just say that.
- 30:53Speaker 3: But now you're thinking about it, right?
- 30:54Speaker 2: Now I'm thinking about it because I, because Kirk's been good. Yes.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Kirk's been good, honestly. And last year with the Falcons, like,
- 31:02Speaker 2: Kirk was fine last year, too, after Pence got hurt.
- 31:05Speaker 2: He played, like, some quality football. And then I think, obviously,
- 31:08Speaker 2: getting a little bit better coaching with Clint Kubiak this year. So.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Like, he looks good. It's frustrating. But the collapse is coming. Like,
- 31:16Speaker 2: Kirk always does this. He started off the season pretty well.
- 31:18Speaker 6: That's fair, yes.
- 31:19Speaker 2: And then, yeah, once it gets into November, he plays
- 31:22Speaker 2: that crap, and then Mendoza plays. But shoot, like you said,
- 31:25Speaker 2: they're 2-0. I tried to get my guy Ted Wynn
- 31:28Speaker 2: to say the Raiders are back the other day, but
- 31:29Speaker 2: he wouldn't quite do it. Like, man, when was the
- 31:31Speaker 2: last time you were 2-0?
- 31:33Speaker 4: Say you're back.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Overrated, underrated, or properly rated, this is the year Josh
- 31:40Speaker 1: Allen gets a ring.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Man, I'll say properly rated. Properly rated. Just because that
- 31:48Speaker 2: Bill's offense is on fire right now. I think the
- 31:50Speaker 2: defense will get better as the season goes along. Also,
- 31:53Speaker 2: the Lions, I know their defense is banged up, but
- 31:56Speaker 2: the offense is still a tough challenge with all the
- 31:58Speaker 2: skill and talent that they have. So I don't think
- 31:59Speaker 2: giving up 31 points is such a That's a terrible thing,
- 32:02Speaker 2: especially if you score 41 on the back end. But, hey,
- 32:05Speaker 2: got to give it to Terry Pagula. That press conference
- 32:09Speaker 2: he had was absolutely cracked out of his mind, bizarre.
- 32:12Speaker 2: But Joe Brady seems ready for the challenge so far.
- 32:16Speaker 1: All right, Charles, we appreciate it. He's the host of
- 32:18Speaker 1: The Athletic Live. He's living out of his suitcase. He's
- 32:21Speaker 1: losing a small piece of his life with each passing day.
- 32:25Speaker 3: We hope he survives. Thank you for doing this, man.
- 32:28Speaker 3: We always appreciate it.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yep, thanks, guys.
- 32:31Speaker 3: All right, man.
