Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello Christians, this is Dallas Beacham.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: The Book on the Table There is a book in many homes that knows the sound of the room better than it knows the touch of a hand.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: It is set on the table beside the big old easy chair.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: It has rested on the shelf.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: It has been carried to church, quoted at funerals, opened at weddings and displayed with honor.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: But here is the question has it been searched?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Jesus did not say display the scriptures or admire the scriptures.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: He said in John five thirty nine, search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: The word search is not a casual word.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: It means dig.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: It means look again carefully.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: It means do not stop with what somebody told you.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Open it for yourself and ask what does the Bible actually say?
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: In Acts seventeen eleven the scripture shows us that the Bereans listened with enthusiasm, but they still searched the scriptures daily to see what they heard was so.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: They did not reject preaching, they did not despise teaching, but the final voice was reserved for the Word of God, not commentary or tradition.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: God's word was first and last in every spiritual debate and conversation.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: So as you navigate your day, think about the Bible back on the table.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Open it, read it slowly.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Let the text speak before you speak.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Let Scripture interpret Scripture, and if the word of God begins to lead you somewhere you did not expect, follow it.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: See where it leads, not where you were told it leads.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And now the good news The book sitting on the table is not silent because God has nothing to say.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: It may be silent because no one has opened it with a surrendered heart.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: The good news is that the same Bible you have honored from a distance can become the place where God meets you, teaches you, corrects you, and leads you into more truth.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Before we close today, I want to take a moment to explain this new broadcast you're hearing for the first time today.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: It's called Five Minutes of Good News.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: This broadcast is designed to give you one clear message from the Word of God, something simple but solid, something you can carry with you throughout your day.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Every episode will be built around one passage, one truth, one takeaway, no fluff, no filter, just scripture first.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Our goal is to help you stay grounded in the Bible, encouraged in your faith and reminded of God's goodness in a world that desperately needs it.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Five minutes of good news is meant to be short enough to fit into any schedule, but strong enough to make a difference.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Whether you're getting ready for work, driving or winding down at the end of the day, these five minutes are here to lift your heart and point you back to the Lord.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Scripture first is committed to bringing the Word of God directly to you, clearly, faithfully, and without compromise.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And this broadcast is one more way we're doing that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: We're grateful you're here with us for this first episode and we're looking forward to sharing many more moments in God's Word together.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you for joining us today.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: We'll see you next time for another five minutes of good news.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I hope the message today touched your heart and caused you to have a good day.
