- 0:30SPEAKER_02: This is Tony Buchos with the Reborn Podcast.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: Today we have the privilege of interviewing Kyle Perry, a Marine Corps veteran who underwent a remarkable transformation, losing over a hundred pounds, and now coaches others in mindset, fitness, and nutrition.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Kyle, your journey is truly inspiring, and our audience is eager to learn from your experiences.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Thanks for being here.
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: Thanks for having me.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: I'm excited to be here.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: I'm excited, man.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Um, let's get into it.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Kyle, can you take us back to the beginning?
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: What ignited your journey to self-improvement, entrepreneurship, especially considering your background in the Marine Corps?
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: So it's like a two-part question.
- 1:10SPEAKER_03: Obviously, you have to be in the first one of development to leave for the military.
- 1:13SPEAKER_03: So that's when I first started my journey.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: And then you have to stay in shape the whole time you're there.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: So the first journey was to stay out of trouble and go leave for the military.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: But what I hadn't realized is you're a product of your mindset, and no matter if you change your environment, your mindset comes with.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: So like everyone thinks they can run away from their situations.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: But what happens is you try to go to the military and then you hang out with like-minded people because you feel lonely.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: So then there's other people that ran away from trouble.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: So now you're just getting in trouble.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: I didn't do a successful four years.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: I got out of the honorable discharge.
- 1:44SPEAKER_03: I outworked a lot of my peers.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: And then I came out into the corporate world.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: I get I kind of quit on fitness.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: It's a long story, so I'll save you guys.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: But I got canceled on TikTok.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, I need to stay on just the corporate world.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: I'm going to lose my job.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: I worked my way all the way up to$100,000 a year, plus my retirement from the military, but I was drinking like every single night.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: And uh I was sitting there one day and I'm just like, I don't find any purpose in my life anymore.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: Which most people, when they make that kind of money, like, wow, I made it.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: I'm finally here.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: But I like, yeah, this sounds cliche, but I can say it, and I feel like people that's never made money can't say this, but I can tell you that since I have made money, that money isn't everything.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: And uh I just had no true purpose anymore, man.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: I was 287 pounds from drinking with my co-workers and drinking after work and then drinking on the weekends to celebrate.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: And you know, like corporate world people love to bring in food constantly.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: And I would justify it with, oh, I'm super strong.
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: Like we talked about I used to do powerlifting.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, I can bench press, you know, 375 pounds for eight reps.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: I'm stronger than everyone in the gym, so it doesn't matter if I'm fat.
- 2:45SPEAKER_03: And no one really calls you fat when you're out working everyone in the gym.
- 2:48unknown: Right.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: They're asking you how you got so big and strong because you're wearing hoodies, no one can tell how fat you are.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: And I looked in the mirror one day and I was just like, this isn't who I ever wanted to be, and this isn't where I want to be going in my life.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: So I opened my fitness business back up and I started preaching discipline on the internet, even though I was 100 pounds overweight, and I got so much hate.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: You can go to my old videos about like your face is fat, you're fat, you don't know what you're talking about.
- 3:10SPEAKER_03: I'm like, just keep following the journey, you'll believe it soon enough.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: And now I'm 178 pounds as of this morning.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: So I've lost 112 pounds.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: I don't drink alcohol anymore, and I changed everything about me, but I just I woke up with a purpose and I wanted to help other people because what I don't like about some fitness influencers is they just have good genetics and they tell people these things that don't even make sense, and like it doesn't matter what the science book says, bro.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: If you can't apply it, you can't apply it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: Sounds like you're a man of your words.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, first you broke the mindset, you came onto social media, you realized I need to really be a man of my word.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: You lost a weight, and now you're here.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: I saw a post of yours uh on social media on Instagram talking about you're gonna be the biggest, the number one fitness mindset nutrition coach on social media.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: And given what you've delivered on your past pharmaces, I have no doubt that that can definitely happen.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Um you mentioned that you are more of a product of your mindset, not a product of your environment.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: How do you derive how do you differentiate between the two?
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: Because if you're around your environment, it's difficult to get into a different mindset of the people that are millionaires rather than the people who are crackheads.
- 4:26unknown: Right?
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: You have to, well, one, you have to stop going in that environment.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: I don't care if it's your friend, your family member, the kid you grew up with in the sandbox, if he's not good for you, he's not good for you.
- 4:35SPEAKER_03: Even if it's just mom and dad, if they're toxic people, you have to at least, when you're first going into your personal development row, cut them out of your life.
- 4:43SPEAKER_03: You can love them from afar, check on them through text messages and things like that, but you cannot go around them.
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: And I experienced this firsthand with my sister and my family, like, oh, you're losing too much weight, all you need to do is just enjoy life, you're working too much.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: And those people will persuade you away from your dreams faster than you think because it's so much easier for your mind to captivate negativity than it is to captivate positivity.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: And if you don't believe me, go on the internet and look at a positive video and look at how many negative comments there are, they get way more comments back than the positive comments.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: So that's that's a unique um that's a unique perspective because I've heard in the past people talking about limit your surroundings.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: So it, you know, if it if it's your mom, if it's your dad, if it's your sister, limit how much you're around them, maybe Thanksgiving or whatever holiday, but don't cut them out entirely because they're still family.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: But you're saying, yeah, talk to them over the phone or text them, you know, hope they're doing well, but don't don't see them.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Don't see them because you're gonna.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's gonna offend some people, but you can't.
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: If you have an addictive personality or you have a personality that will fall victim to what they say, it will ruin your day for days on end because you'll keep thinking about all the things they said to you.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: And I know because I lived it firsthand, and I know other people like my mom is like this, or my sister, even spouses, bro.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: Like you obviously can't leave your spouse if you have kids, but you need to get them on the same path as you because it's very hard to come on to a negative spouse not helping you on your diet, eating bad foods in front of you, smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol when you're first going on your journey.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: Because when you see now I can stare at a bottle of alcohol and not have any feelings.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: But when I first tried to quit, I would see that and I'd see someone drinking that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: I'm like, fuck it, give me a beer.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's hard.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: Uh you brought up your spells.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: I saw a post of yours the other day.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Uh transparently, I was doing some research trying to know my stuff.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: Um, but I saw a post of yours the other day, and it said that you guys worked very, very close to getting divorced, and that now you've rebuilt your relationship, you're raising kids, and you've you've successfully built a business online.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: How have how has that shifted since before?
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Did she also go through a weight loss journey?
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Is she helping you with coaching?
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: How has that uh relationship shifted for you guys?
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: So we were both drinking at the time.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: The reason we almost went through a divorce, and I I'm very open person, and I know the more famous you get or the more eyeballs you start to get on you, people try to cancel.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: So I always tell my story.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: We were a year and a half ago, we were about to get a divorce.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: I was actually moved out, we were gonna get separated.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: I actually had a whole nother like relationship.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: My wife knew about it, I didn't hide anything, and I just I was just like, most of this is from the alcohol.
- 7:27SPEAKER_03: Like, if we both just stop drinking, we can fix everything we had.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: And I texted her, I'm like, hey, I'm gonna come over.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: And then we talked.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: I'm like, look, we've been married almost like we've made it longer than most marriages.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: We've been married 10 years.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Most people don't even make it that far.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Like the divorce rate is like the extremely high, especially for military.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: We were married in the Marine Corps.
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: That divorce rate's like 80%.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: And uh, so we made it through all those statistics, but we almost became one.
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: But she realized just like me, like we needed to internalize the change.
- 7:56SPEAKER_03: She's lost almost 40 pounds because she quit drinking, she started eating better.
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: And uh ultimately she just started taking her life serious, like me, because like what would happen in like a lot of the fights that we would start with is I would go on this personal development journey and I was trying to grind my business, and she'd be like, Oh, you're not spending enough time with me, you're not doing this.
- 8:14SPEAKER_03: And I was like, if you want to have a better life, you have to be willing to make a sacrifice of not being able to spend as much time with me for this first year so we can work out all the kinks, because that's just how business works, bro.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: You have to work a nine to fives and you have to work a five to nine, and that's how business works because you have to be able to fund the business you're building.
- 8:31unknown: Right.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: And she couldn't internalize that for a very long time, which she said on podcasts we've been on before is like, I wish I would have let you do this three years ago, four years ago when you wanted to, because we would have been so much further ahead in life.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: That's that's the ultimate regret.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Just I you always look at successful people and they're always like the only thing I regret, none of the mistakes I made do I regret.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: The one thing I don't regret is not starting sooner.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 8:59SPEAKER_03: I've been trying this for seven years and always gave up on myself.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: This is the biggest I've ever been, and I've only been consistent at it for three months.
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: So imagine if I would have been that consistent for seven years straight, how far I'd be.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: I was like, I this is gonna sound funny, but I was literally the original Andrew Tate because I got canceled on TikTok before I knew anyone got canceled.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: I got canceled by 7 million people.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: I compared her.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: People call her 50 Cent fat to people saying Lizzo's beautiful.
- 9:25SPEAKER_03: And I said, why do we call a man fat, but we call a woman beautiful?
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Like we had to put living these double standards.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: Some famous lady that's a super liberal person stitched it.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: All her following came to me.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: They gave my Google My Business 1,000 one-star reviews.
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: They told me to go kill myself, all kinds of stuff.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: And that's when I went into the corporate world because I didn't want to lose my job.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: So I just stopped doing it.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: But if I would have just, especially now because Lizzo's getting canceled, it's funny how the world comes back around.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: I realize she's a really bad person, does like really grotesque things to her workers.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: Is that if I would have just capitalized on that to the right people, because I had a lot of support on that video too, as much as I had hate, but I was scared to lose my job.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: But if I would have capitalized on it then and stayed consistent, my business would be huge right now, bro.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: Like, look at Andrew Tate.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: He got canceled, went to prison, but his business is bigger than ever.
- 10:11unknown: Right.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: Liver King got canceled.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: His business is bigger than ever.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: But I had a corporate job at the time and I couldn't take that risk.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: So it's it's you didn't have that fucking money built up, essentially.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: No, I like I and I didn't have like I had an established business, but not like I do now.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Like I built it off of aggression now, so that way when people see me get canceled for it, they're like, oh, that's the video she's been posting.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: Any and that's what I signed up with her.
- 10:35SPEAKER_03: So it wouldn't matter.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: So Lizo's gonna cancel.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: I haven't heard about that.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: What happened with her?
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: I don't know how much we can say on this podcast, but it's like really sexual gross things with her with her workers involved with sex workers and like doing weird stuff.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: Like there's like seven different sexual allegations against her that she'd like, and then there's like racist things she was saying to a lot of her workers.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, there's a lot of things coming out now about how bad of a person she actually is.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: So I wish this would have happened back then because they'd have been like, oh wow, he was right.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: No, that's crazy.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: I I don't think I've heard about that.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: I'd that's a good thing.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: No, I haven't heard about that because it's it's made some news.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: You want to stay away from that kind of stuff.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: But I heard it on the radio.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: I listened to the radio with my daughter when I put her on the bus every day and I heard it.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what a funny world, bro.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Like it can't fool her.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: No, it's it's so original Andrew Tay.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: That's it's it's funny because your social media, like you said, is very, very aggressive, but then you're on this podcast and you have you have children, you have a daughter.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: I don't you have children or a child.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: Dude, I have two girls and a boy.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: My son's 12.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: So you have children.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: So obviously you're not the aggressive guy.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: Like, get off your like, you know, just cussing people out all day, but it's it's the it's a persona online, and you gotta build that brand and and be be yourself, you know.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like I'm internally an aggressive person, but obviously I know when I'm talking to the average human or my kids, like all that would do is break them.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: And like I went through like obviously leadership training in the military, and then I went to leadership training and become a corporate.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: I was in the corporate world, so you have to know how to act like corporate also.
- 12:12SPEAKER_03: Because, like, kind of like if you think about it, like I brought up 50 Cent before he's a gangster by by not by heart and by nature, and he's like obviously done some crazy things in this, but he can also put a suit on and go and make a corporate movie with everyone.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: You have to, I think personally, I remember this guy I was in the Marine Corps with, and it was like the best phrase I've ever heard.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: He's like, You gotta have game.
- 12:31SPEAKER_03: He's like, You gotta have a ghetto attitude in the military environment because that's where I grew up in, like a really ghetto-driven like mindset type of thing, like ride more with fittest, eat everyone around you.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: And if you take that in a positive light and you say, I won't let anyone beat me in the business world, you can be the most successful person ever.
- 12:49SPEAKER_03: Right now, obviously, you don't want to hurt anyone, but like if you just take that aggressiveness and bring it with you and do it in a positive way, you can change a lot of lives.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: Like, people think I'm aggressive because I hate people, but it's the complete opposite.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: I'm aggressive because I want to wake you up to realize you don't need you can be so much more by just taking it serious.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Now, I've heard for myself, I've heard this so many different times with both business and uh uh content creation.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: I've heard that you want to create, and especially if it's your first business, you want to create something that solves a problem that your past self solved.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: So the reason I create content is because I used to be fat, I used to be uh obese, depressed, anxious, like I don't even recognize my old self.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Is that set kind of the same mindset you're coming from?
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: Why you make the content or your your purpose?
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: If you're trying to be a coach or anything like that, that's the only thing you can do because you only know how to coach what you've already cooked.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: You only know how to succeed where you where you've succeeded, right?
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: That's what I don't like about a lot of these other business entrepreneurs who are like, hey, I could teach you how to do this.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: They're just regurgitating what they heard other people would do.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: They've never built a real business, bro.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: And uh, so like I tell my story, like I was 100 pounds overweight from the military because I started drinking in the military a lot, and then I started drinking as a father, and I felt like I was failing my family.
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: So then my you gotta have an avatar that you're selling to in business.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: So mine are men and veterans.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: What have men and veterans done a lot of their life?
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: They celebrated with alcohol, they celebrated with food, they got lazy because they had kids.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: So I tell my story because that was me.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: I'm talking to the my my two-year-old two years ago self.
- 14:28SPEAKER_03: Every video I make, I just internalize if somebody had to say something to me to change my life, what would they say?
- 14:34SPEAKER_03: And uh my mentor is Wes Watson, and he's the same way.
- 14:39SPEAKER_03: He he he says very aggressive things to get you to listen to him so that way you can change his life.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: You he can change your life.
- 14:45SPEAKER_03: But deep down, he's a really good person.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: Like if you talk to him or you watch some of his podcasts, there's even podcasts where he's tried all that because he's a very passionate person about being able to fix people's lives, because he was in prison for 20 years, so he knows that you can do anything is with a mindset.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: I think it I think it's great too that having a mentor, I saw that video that you posted the other day about having a mentor.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: If you don't have a mentor, literally the people around you are your mentor because then you're just gonna become that alcoholic, that that drugie, that person who's doing nothing with their life.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: But by having a mentor, you have someone who's already where you want to be, who's accomplished what you want to accomplish, and now you have to guide the the path to get there.
- 15:27SPEAKER_02: So I think that's just having a mentor is is is very, very, very valuable.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, dude, and society is so brainwashed because they're like, oh, you paid six months of mentoring at business coaching for 12 grand for your mentor.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: I'm like, you paid$55,000 for a four-year degree that makes you$22 an hour, bro.
- 15:45SPEAKER_03: My investment is already paying me back.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: Six months I started selling fitness plans, I made a lot of money.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: The next month I made more money.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: The next month I made more money.
- 15:56SPEAKER_03: Now I've changed so many lives, they're telling other people, and I barely even have to brand myself because their friend comes to me.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: So that 12 grand investment, even if I only sold one plan, a three-month plan a month for$750 in real estate, you have to spend$150,000 to get one house and maybe profit$300 a month.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: I spent$10 grand to make a minimum of$750 a month.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: And people say, Oh, that's a waste of money.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: Like they're so brainwashed, and then they're like, Well, I don't want a mentor.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: Like, you have a mentor, bro.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: You already have it.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: It's that bum friend that you keep listening to, or your family members, like we just talked about.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: It's your brother, it's your sister, it's your mom, it's your dad that's telling you all the negative things that you still love them because they're your family members, but you should never take their advice.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: Never take advice from someone that's not in a life position you are.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: Like, let's, for instance, let's say your parents are broke at 65 years old and then they give you finance advice.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Why are they giving you finance advice?
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: That is something I've had to have had had to deal with myself too, is this limiting beliefs of those around me.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: Um, but I was gonna say, I I have learned from you actually a little bit.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Um, and you're not even my mentor, but I have learned from you just you're further along in your journey and you're further along in your business than I am.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: Dude, I was overcomplicating things so much.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: I was like, I need to set up a website, I need to set up funnel.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: I go to your profile, you have a you have a type form.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: So I actually used to do all those things and I made less money.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I used to have a funnel, I used to have a website.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: So the thing about fitness, right, is they have to know you as a person.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: No, like dude, I used to have people, I used to spend money on SEO.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: I used to have like the most fancy website.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: If you Googled me, I would pop up person Google in your area.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: But the thing is, when you come to my website and you don't know me as a person, you read it, you never sign up.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: Now I post my stories every day or I go on these podcasts, someone sees who I actually am as a person, what I actually speak on, how I actually live it like this.
- 17:50SPEAKER_03: And they're like, oh, he was overweight.
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, he was an alcoholic, oh, he's a plotler, oh, he's a busy person too.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: Just like me.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: I want to know how he does it.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: Now, when you go to a website, you don't know the full story.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you're reading it, but you're not seeing it in real time.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: The way you make your content, is that the same way you wish someone would have spoken to you two years ago?
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's exactly why I changed.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Like I said, my mentor Wes Watson, he's the one I watched on the internet.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: I tell people all the time, like, just because you don't hire me doesn't mean I can't be your mentor.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: Go watch all my stuff.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: Your life will drastically change.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: If you just do your life like I do my life on my stories every day, like I wake up, I do my burpees, I make my macros, I track my macros every day, and then I do a second workout, I read a book, and then I talk about the book, and then I make a motivational quote at night.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: If you surrounded your own life and what motivational stuff, and this is from start to finish, your life would 10x by itself with no.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: Now, the coach part takes out the guesswork on what your macros should be, what your fitness plan should be.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: And the best part about the mentors the accountability factor.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: If you have to check in with me every Sunday, humans don't want to fail another human by nature.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: That's how we're built, that's how we're created.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: This is the whole point of anxiety and depression because most people are anxiety have anxiety or depression because they're worried about what other people think about them or what society thinks about them, or they haven't accomplished enough in life.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: So if you have somebody that you have to come and tell, I failed my diet too, it's way easier to say to the diet.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: I'm a big, big, big believer in in free value, and that's that's what the content is.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: Um, just I think Hermosey, you know, Alex Hermosey says, uh, give away give away the how, but uh sell the sell the the action.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: I I can't remember exactly how he phrases it, but it's essentially you'll take their hand and help them through it for your business, but you'll give away how to do it for free.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: And I think that's what you can do.
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: You're doing like I give them the how, I'm selling them the who, I'm selling them me.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: Like you're me, somebody that's already been through all this as your coach.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: You're getting someone that knows how to take your life apart like an onion.
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, I've been successful in the military, I've been successful in the corporate world, I've been successful in the business world, and I've lost my own weight, and I'm a master trainer through fitness.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: So like I've already done them.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: So all your you're getting all five pieces of my life tailored straight to you, customized to whatever your goals are.
- 20:11unknown: Yeah.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: And not, I'm not even saying you like if you don't, that's why I do so many interviews on my Instagram, because if you don't like my aggressiveness, I interview coaches all the time.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: But the the mission is bigger.
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: I just want people to, I just want people to improve their lives.
- 20:23SPEAKER_03: And if it's through another coach, I my mission is still accomplished, whether I made money or not.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: And you can you can give away the how, and you can really give away the how to anything because you've been exactly where they're at.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Like because you've been, like you said, successful in so many different areas.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: Dude, I can teach someone how to be a plant manager somewhere, how to climb up the corporate ranks, and I have living proof of this.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: The guy I left, the place I left from, the guy I mentored, he is now the assistant manager there.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: He started on the bottom floor, and the guy underneath him is the shift lead, who also has been mentored by me.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: They both started on the bottom floor, and I started at one above the bottom floor there.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: Within two years, I was a plan manager, and everyone I met everyone I mentored climbed up the ranks.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: What is the one moment?
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: What is the moment where you felt you had failed in your journey, and how did you bounce back from it?
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: I tell a story on almost every podcast, but I think it needs to be told.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: It's kind of violent, so if you don't like violence, you probably shouldn't listen.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: But so when I was coming, I was like a year sober.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: So I had drank one time back in April.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: I was on a cruise, had this cruise book for like a year and a half.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: I bought it for me and my wife to celebrate.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: Um, it was when we I bought it like a year before that, when I had already started going on my sobriety because we decided to work on our marriage and it was like around her birthday.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: So she's like, we should just drink.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: We've already bought the drinking packages.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: I'm like, yeah, that's fine.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: So we went to Miami.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: I went down with one of my best friends.
- 21:50SPEAKER_03: He brought a friend and his wife.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: And I've actually got along with all these people.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: I've even helped the people that I had this altercation with boot.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: Well, those people can't really handle alcohol.
- 21:59SPEAKER_03: I can handle alcohol alcohol alcohol alcohol.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Handle my alcohol, but as soon as you make me max, it like is my demons come out.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: Well, this girl's talking really crazy to my wife, like talking nonsense, saying she's got a fight or all these things.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: And I look at this guy and I'm like, if you don't get your wife, I'm gonna smack you as hard as I can.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna smack the taste buds out of your mouth.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: Long story short, I smacked him, I broke the wall.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Like I put an end in the wall, and he had like this brain, the brain, this bump that looked like his brain was coming out of his head.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: And I was so scared that I like something like he had brain bleeding or whatever.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: So we go on this cruise the next day.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: We see him, they don't talk to us.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: And we're like eight hours into the cruise, and the cruise ship comes over, like we have to turn around.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: There's an emergency, there's an emergency situation, and I'm like, in my head, I'm like, oh my god, like this dude has brain bleeding, he's going to the hospital, like this is the last bop, dope, bop, like bullet I'm ever gonna dodge.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm done for.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: Like an hour later, I see him walking around, and he was playing with his wife, so he'd hang out with us anyways.
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: So it wasn't him, but in my head, for like an hour and a half, I thought I was going to prison for the rest of my life.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: And uh, that was a time where I'm like, I don't need alcohol in my life.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: Not only not because I don't know how to act, but most people don't know how to act when I drink too much alcohol.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: And I'm the type of person that can't control my anger when I'm drunk.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: It's hard for me to control my anger when I'm sober.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: That's why I live such a disciplined life.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: Because there's times at Walmart where I just want to crack someone's skull open for talking crazy.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: People are so disrespectful because they know in today's society, if you put hands on them, even though they started it, you're the one that's ruining your whole entire life.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: How long, how long ago was that?
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: That was about two years ago.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: That fight?
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: No, that was in April.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, that was in April this year.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: I was on the city.
- 23:40SPEAKER_03: I was sober for almost a year and a half, and then I did that, and I've been sober since.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: So like it's really only technically been sober since eight.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: Okay, I see.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Well, do you say you are grateful for that happening, though?
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Because it was a absolute weekend ball.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: Never take it back.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: One, I think everyone that everyone needs to learn that there are repercussions, and if you do talk crazy, do you say you're gonna fight someone?
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: Like just stand by your words.
- 24:02SPEAKER_03: Because I I mean, I was in the military, dude.
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: You fight your next rank if they're talking crazy.
- 24:06unknown: Right.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: That's just where I'm from, do you fight all the time?
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: Like where here, like you get shot if you talk crazy to people.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: So I'm used to that.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: But these people were from a different place, so they never really saw like the repercussions.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying you should fight because it's very bad to put your hands on other people, but at the same time, there's there's consequences for your words, people need to understand.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: And maybe I shouldn't have taken it that far, but I've warned them for like 10 minutes straight.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Like, don't stop talking to my wife like that.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm gonna do something.
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Stop.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: I told them like 10 times, bro.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: They just kept pushing.
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: They were the aggressors.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: I finally snapped.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: And uh, but it finally woke me up.
- 24:41SPEAKER_03: Like, I just can't have out because most of the time I can talk myself out of stuff like that.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: Like, was there any legal repercussions from that, or no?
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: Nah, like they I mean that they knew that they pushed a lot of the issues, and I had witnesses there.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, the my friend that I went there with, he was like, dude, I completely understand why you did it.
- 25:00SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't have done the same thing.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Everyone there was in agreement with what I did.
- 25:03unknown: Pretty much.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: Like they're like, dog, dude, they were just acting extreme.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: Because even on the cruise ship, they got more fights, and then the wife punched the husband in the face, and then they threw their ring off the boat.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: Like, they were definitely the problem there.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: I just took action that I wish like I wish I wouldn't have, but at the same time, like that's just what happens when you act crazy, dude.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: Like, but it just taught me like life's too fragile, and if I actually would have hurt that person, like I would have lost my life to prison, and my kids weren't gonna ever had a dad no more, all because of some words that that person said, which is stupid at the end of the day.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: And you said this was your best friend at the time.
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: So no, it was my like one of my best friends' friends.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: So he brought friends with him to the crew, okay, which we were all friends.
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: I've helped those people move before, but like right before they came down, he's like, I kind of regret bringing them because like uh they've been getting drunk and just causing a lot of issues.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: I'm like, no, it'd be alright, I like them.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: And then I play choke them at work.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: Most successful individuals have non-negotiable habits and routines.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: What habits do you do you consider vital to your personal professional life?
- 26:07SPEAKER_03: Um, the biggest habit I tell everyone that they need to do is track your macros, which is calorie breakdowns, proteins, fats, and carbs.
- 26:13SPEAKER_03: Because if you can control what you put in your mouth, you can control a lot of aspects in your life.
- 26:17unknown: Right.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: Because we're a lot of people don't want to talk about like dude, like, well, you were addicted to alcohol.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: Why would I ever listen to you?
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: Like, you're addicted to food, bro.
- 26:25SPEAKER_03: Everybody in America, like 90% of America, is addicted to food.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: It's an addiction.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: If you eat for your emotions, that's an addiction.
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: If you're eating a hide from how you feel that day, that's an addiction.
- 26:35SPEAKER_03: It might not be a drug, but it's an addiction.
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: It's advice that you're using in your life to like make up for the things that happen in your day-to-day actions.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: And it might as well be a drug, too, to what especially like the types of food that you can get in America.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, you go out, you can get 5,000 calories worth of a burger, you know, fries, milkshake.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: What should be a drug.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: It's to be considered like it's also hundreds of calories.
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: It's to be considered illegal if you let your kids become obese.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: That's the same as giving your kids drug.
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm I was like, I'm a relatively fat kid by art because my parents never taught me how to eat.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: I didn't even know what a macro was until I was like 20 years old.
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: And they're like, oh, they teach it school.
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: Who pays attention at school, bro?
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: Let's be honest.
- 27:20unknown: Right.
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: When you're a teenager, you don't remember that stuff, right?
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: No, I I definitely I was uh obsessed with an addicted to food before.
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: That's I I didn't at my heaviest, I was 260, I'm now around 200.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: Um I'm curious, are is there a specific diet that you recommend?
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: Or is it person to person, or do you recommend just dieting uh uh intermittent fasting?
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: That's what I that's what helped me.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: I thought being addicted to food would help me with just minimizing the time where I'm eating, but I didn't want to do keto or paleo or vegan or uh uh carnivore or whatever, you know.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: So I love fasting for me.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: I don't really tell everyone else to do it, it just depends on what they want in their life.
- 28:04SPEAKER_03: Fasting one, I'm very spiritual person now.
- 28:06SPEAKER_03: I got baptized back in April.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: Like when you don't want to eat and you just pray to God, like I need the strength to make it past this next meal.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, that it enlightened you a lot.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Uh but like I don't recommend a specific diet to anyone because I have people that come to me like, well, my aunt lost 40 pounds doing keto.
- 28:23SPEAKER_03: I'm like, does she gain it back?
- 28:24SPEAKER_03: And you're like, yeah.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Like, well, then it didn't work.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: Let's find something that's sustainable for you.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: Like, do you like higher carbs or higher protein?
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: Do you like this kind of food or this kind of food?
- 28:33SPEAKER_03: And then I'll kind of see what they like.
- 28:34SPEAKER_03: I'm like, do you like to eat the in the morning or do you like to eat at night?
- 28:37SPEAKER_03: And if they like, oh, I can't eat in the morning at all, I'll automatically have them fast because they're already fasting in.
- 28:43unknown: Right.
- 28:44SPEAKER_03: Now, if they're like, don't starve me when I first wake up, then I won't have them fast because then like they're probably right.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: I do think eating at night can cause some problems, especially like what sleeping.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: Um, but it's it's it can be a good approach to go based off of what they're looking for.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: Just obviously, you don't want to be like, oh, you you like to eat pizza, you like to eat uh uh fried food, like, oh yeah, let's give you all of that.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: And you know, because I mean you can you can lose weight literally eating McDonald's.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Like I remember seeing a study that was done, and all they ate was McDonald's, and they've lost like 50 plus pounds.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: Uh hard though, bro.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: Like, it's not hard to lose weight, it's hard to say fool dude.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:26SPEAKER_03: Like, I if a client really wanted to do that, sure, you can try it, but you're gonna be hungry.
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: Like, you're gonna be so hungry because you can go all and make that same burger that tastes nine, nine out of ten versus ten out of ten and make it for less calories, higher protein, and be able to eat two of them for the same amount of calories of what you would eat out there.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's um I I always think to myself, and I need to make more content on this, but I always think like you can lose weight literally eating eating anything, but if you do, for example, eat McDonald's and that's your only meal, you're not gonna actually feel good.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: Like your mental state is gonna be terrible.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: You're gonna you're not able to think it the highest of your ability.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: Like I I always think of things from a holistic approach.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: Like uh health for me is is less important than um or not health, but fitness is less important than than business as a man.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: But I think it's uh necessary, first of all, and I think it's an for me, it was a gateway drug to uh building a business because you build the discipline, you build uh the resilience through the gym and through getting in shape, but then you develop that into business.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: So I think for me it just it's it's obviously it's one of the most important things, like second most important thing, but um I'm I'm curious if you and I send one mindset on that.
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: A thousand percent that goes with the phrase how you do anything is how you do everything.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: If you have a disciplined structured life, you have a disciplined structured business.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: Because I actually used to own other businesses that didn't do that well because I didn't live a structured life.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: Like I owned a business while within the corporate world and it was a tattoo shop, and all we did was get drug together all the time.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: And like it, like we would use the excuse, like, oh, we got to network in the bars because that's where people get tattoos from.
- 31:18SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, social media is so big, you don't have to network in person anyway.
- 31:22SPEAKER_03: That was just an excuse we were using a drink.
- 31:24SPEAKER_03: And at that point Well, yeah, I agree with you.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: Like, how you do anything is how you do everything.
- 31:28SPEAKER_03: If you have a structured diet, you have you have a more successful business, you have a more successful relationship just because your life is disciplined, and then you won't let those undisciplined people in your life like we talked about before.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: That's that's so powerful, too.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: Anything say it again.
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: I how are you doing anything say you get recorded?
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: I I had a friend who was telling me that um three months ago or so, and for me, dude, I sucked at organization.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: Like I I've gone back to like being, you know, in in elementary school where you have the desk and you open up and you have all these all your shit in there, dude.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: I I was so unorganized, it was crazy.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: Um, my whole life didn't, I realized like my whole life, my schedule, my my uh my bedroom, like everything is unorganized.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: And it's again how you do one thing is how you do everything.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: I I really had to bury that into me because I was like, no, you no, that's that's not right, but it it is definitely right.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: And you I mean, yeah, for us to give an example of that.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: I have a perfect example of this in real time, actually.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: My mentor, we go on the group calls every Sunday, and this guy he wasn't having as much success as we were uh online.
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: And he's like, I want you to look around your fucking room.
- 32:44SPEAKER_03: Am I allowed to cuss on here?
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: I probably should.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: I think I just get it.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: So you two might not like it, but he's like, you need to look around your room right now, look at everyone else's background.
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: His room had like empty water bottles, like empty stuff.
- 32:58SPEAKER_03: There was like clothes everywhere.
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: And he was like, That's how you live your life, and that's how you run your business because how you do anything is how you do everything.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: And he's like, Look at the backgrounds of the other people, right?
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: Like, I bought a background to look more professional.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: This dude had water bottles half empty in the in the group calls about how to be more successful.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: You can't even go throw your water bottles away before the call, bro.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: You live your life like that in every aspect.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Like you can argue it all you want, but your business isn't successful right now, so something's wrong.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: Is it is that a physical background or is that a uh virtual?
- 33:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like a vinyl.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 33:33SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll just not give him like I have a whole gym set up.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: I like my camera's too like posted up, but I would show you.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: So like I have a gym.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: This is actually the only thing that I don't keep organized, is my gym because I treat it like a dungeon.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: I just like stuff like that.
- 33:46SPEAKER_03: Like I like it like a little dirty, a little hot.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: I don't have AC in here, I don't have heat.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: Like it's either cold or hot.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: Just like raw steel, just come in here and work out for an hour and a half of loud music.
- 33:55SPEAKER_03: It's the only thing I don't keep structured in my life, is the gym like the organization of my gym.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: I think that uh leads us into a good segue into the next question.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: Success can be a multifaceted concept.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: How do you measure success both in terms of your personal growth and your thriving coaching business?
- 34:14SPEAKER_03: So I think it's that's limited to whatever you want your success to be.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: Like, there's people that work at McDonald's and they're happy with their life.
- 34:22SPEAKER_03: That's I think happiness is your success rating.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: And I'm extremely happy with my life.
- 34:26SPEAKER_03: So, like, even I tell people all the time, if I went dead broke trying to improve people's lives, I would still be content.
- 34:33SPEAKER_03: Like, obviously, I'd go get another job, so because I have to feed my kids, I'm a father.
- 34:37SPEAKER_03: I decided to have kids, that's what you need to do as a man.
- 34:40SPEAKER_03: But um, I will do this until the day I die because this is what makes me happy.
- 34:44SPEAKER_03: Like, come I dude, I do podcasts constantly, I do live interviews, I do content.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Everything I do, my life.
- 34:50SPEAKER_03: Well, one time I got up at 2 45 in the morning and I went to bed at midnight because all I did was podcasts, interviews, and content.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: And I work more now than I ever did, but it doesn't feel like work, bro.
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: Like, I like some of the like these podcasts when we get real deep into these conversations, I get goosebumps because of how impactful I know this can be on one person's life.
- 35:09SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: So, two two questions for you.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: One, do you define success as happiness?
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: And two, how do you define happiness?
- 35:19SPEAKER_03: So I don't I define most success through happiness.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Obviously, success is also like the things you want to have.
- 35:25SPEAKER_03: Like, let's say your goal is to have I know a lot a lot of people like like scat packed or like uh chargers.
- 35:32SPEAKER_03: Like, if you can accomplish that and you hit your goals and that's success.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: So I think you had to put a measurable goal on it, and you have to put things that you want to make sure you're actually aiming for that.
- 35:41SPEAKER_03: Because without goal, you'll never reach the next level, right?
- 35:44SPEAKER_03: It's more like yeah, so you have to have a financial goal that then that's when you like reach your success.
- 35:50SPEAKER_03: Then you have to have like item goals, house goals, relationship goals, or a girlfriend goal, like the girl you want.
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: If you don't have her yet, manifest it.
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: That's one thing I talk about right here.
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: Like, I always have a manifestation journal everywhere I go, bro.
- 36:02SPEAKER_03: Like I tell I write down my life before it ever happened.
- 36:05SPEAKER_03: This piece of paper said moving to Miami was the best decision I ever made.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: I haven't even moved there yet.
- 36:10SPEAKER_03: I moved there and like success has to be measured because if you can't measure it, you don't know how far off you are from and happiness is just whatever you want, bro.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: Like, I remember one point in time, all I wanted was a gym in my backyard and I have it.
- 36:23SPEAKER_03: Now I want more.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Right, dude.
- 36:25SPEAKER_03: Being able to walk back here and see this that I created all from the internet is like the most surreal feeling.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: It's still like unbelievable.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: No, that's again, you a man of your word, you know, accomplishing what you set out and what you say you're gonna accomplish.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: I'm curious.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: You said you're moving to Miami in April.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: You said the cruise was in April.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: I'm wondering if you set that goal for yourself in April.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: You're like, I need at least one year where no fuck-ups happen, where I am like living what I am saying, you know, before I reward myself by moving to Miami.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: Hey, this is Tony Bootros.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: Sorry for that interruption.
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: I hope you guys are enjoying this episode.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: If you are, please do me a favor, I'd appreciate it so much.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: To share this episode with someone else who can gain value.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: An entrepreneur, an athlete, or just someone trying to improve their life.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: If you have that person in mind or people in mind, please.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: I'm asking you from the bottom of my heart to share with them not only would it mean so much to me, it would mean so much to them.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: You know what they say?
- 37:30SPEAKER_02: Your network is your net worth.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: Be a valuable part of someone else's network.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: Thanks for listening.
- 37:36SPEAKER_02: I hope you enjoy the rest of the episode.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: Is that I honestly might have I might have done that subconsciously, bro.
- 37:45SPEAKER_03: Like you might you might have just actually made me realize that, but I didn't like I don't know why I picked April.
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: It just sounded like good enough to have like enough money established, and like um I don't know why I picked April.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: I just picked it.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: I'm like, I wanted to set a goal.
- 37:59SPEAKER_03: I wanted to start telling people like I'm moving at Miami in April.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: I'm moving to Miami in April.
- 38:04SPEAKER_03: Every time I say it on a podcast, now I have to, right?
- 38:07SPEAKER_03: So like I've already told everyone I'm moving, so I have to move.
- 38:10SPEAKER_03: I can't get scared and want to stay in Ohio.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: I can't use excuses to stay here.
- 38:14SPEAKER_03: I'm leaving.
- 38:15SPEAKER_03: Like I've already said to like a hundred thousand people, like I'm moving to Miami, so I'm moving to Miami.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: Like I mean, I think Miami's a lot more fun to live in than Ohio as well.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: It's just well, that's where my mentor is.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: A lot of the people in my group move there because that's like the fitness mecha of the world.
- 38:30SPEAKER_03: No one likes fitness where I'm at.
- 38:31SPEAKER_03: None of my clients are from my hometown, so it doesn't make sense to stay here anymore.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: And like if you go to an area that has more income and they see you, they can afford your plans.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: So it's just it's just marketing.
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: And then, like, when people some of my business is personal development and self-improvement.
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: If people watch me move from uh a house in Ohio to a beautiful condo in Miami, they're gonna be like, this stuff must work.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: You plan on doing uh uh in-person coaching then when you do move to uh uh Miami?
- 39:03SPEAKER_03: I just I I I really like in-person training, that's where I started, but it's like I'm so busy, it's hard, bro.
- 39:09SPEAKER_03: Like I'm doing so many sales calls for my online training.
- 39:13SPEAKER_03: What I was thinking about doing is making them one day where I don't take any sales calls or any podcasts and going to a gym.
- 39:19SPEAKER_03: And if anyone, like not even charging, because I make good money.
- 39:21SPEAKER_03: Like, if anyone wants to network with me and work out, come to this gym, I'll be there from like eight in the morning to like two in the afternoon, just so I can get that feeling of like helping people out in person because it's such a cool feeling to be able to sit and talk.
- 39:33SPEAKER_03: Most people don't hire you as an in-person trainer to train them in person, they just want to talk to someone, bro.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: I I think uh in-person training is a lot different too than than online training because all online training, a lot of it, like you said, is is the is you're selling yourself, you're selling the accountability, whereas the in-person training, a it's not from a business standpoint very scalable because it's you're trading your time for money, and B, you're more hands-on, like you're teaching them how to do the path the pull down and the curls and you know all the different exercises.
- 40:07SPEAKER_02: So for me, I wouldn't really necessarily do uh in-person coaching, but I do I have seen a lot of influencers be successful with like meetups.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: So I think that could that could be a really big thing as well.
- 40:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what I want to do.
- 40:21SPEAKER_03: And the thing is, like, you're right, it's really hard to scale unless you only target high-ticket people that pay like 100 hours to coach two at a time.
- 40:29SPEAKER_03: But like, I don't want to charge$100 an hour for someone to come work out with me.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: Like, I just I'm just not that kind of person.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: I think I think that's what gyms charge, though, because they charge like$100 an hour,$70 to$100, and then the trainer gets like$30,$50, whatever.
- 40:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, gyms charge a lot, bro.
- 40:46SPEAKER_03: That's like when people say my online coaching is expensive.
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: Like, bro, I charge$299 a month, and the more commitment you take, it gets cheaper.
- 40:53SPEAKER_03: So, like, I'm 100x cheaper than getting an in-person trainer, and like you get videos with all of your workouts, you know how to do them, you get a coach.
- 41:01SPEAKER_03: I'm like a drill instructor in your pocket.
- 41:04SPEAKER_03: Like$2.99 a month is not a lot of money compared to what people pay for in-person training.
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: I think it's the same thing.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: $2.99 a month is not a lot.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: Same thing as what you were saying earlier with the mentor.
- 41:15SPEAKER_02: It's a lot more expensive to not pay that$2.99 a month and keep living the way you're living.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: On my last live, someone came on there.
- 41:22SPEAKER_03: Like, me and my wife did our expenses yesterday in our bank account.
- 41:25SPEAKER_03: We spent$1,000 on fast food.
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: That's not including gas station trips and alcohol or cigarettes or tobacco.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: So now you might be spending$1,300 a month.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: And I you could pay me$299 a month to break nine, even if you only beat half of that, right?
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: And now you're only spending$700 a month, you save$2,100 in three months, and you paid right.
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: You made money to get me as a coach.
- 41:52SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: But but even even other than the monetary savings from it, like you're saving literally your life.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: Like, one, you could die early.
- 42:02SPEAKER_02: But two, I was actually listening to an End My Lap podcast the other day, and I forget who the guest was, but some really, really smart scientists.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: Um, and they were talking about how literally like the life expectancy within the next 20, 30 years could go up like twice as much as it is right now, if you're in good shape, and honestly in the beginning, if you have the money to afford it.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: But you can literally live like 150 years, and I think they're also trying to develop an AI that can basically integrate yourself into the AI, which is crazy.
- 42:36SPEAKER_02: But I mean, you're literally saving your own life by getting your health in check.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: And that's again, I know I said earlier that business is more important, but like it's it's crucial to be in good shape, and with business, you're gonna build your business a lot higher, a lot bigger with your health because you're gonna have the mindset for it.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Thousand percent or harder.
- 42:57SPEAKER_03: I remember watching, I watched that same podcast.
- 42:58SPEAKER_03: It's like every four years we survive from right now, we can live 0.25 years long.
- 43:04SPEAKER_03: So if you can live 40 more years, the science from there already bought you an extra 10 to 15 years.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: I thought it was something more crazy than that.
- 43:11SPEAKER_03: It is crazier than that, but it was like a gist of that, like every four years like a like a year or something.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: It's something crazy.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it was, I mean, insane.
- 43:21SPEAKER_02: Like right now, the average living the average lifespan is like 70, 80 years.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: And you also have to consider that most people today, I think it's like 70%, or maybe it's even 90%, something crazy, like are fat or obese.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: So if you're saying it's higher, I think it's like eighty percent of people are overweight and forty percent of those eighty people are obese.
- 43:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 43:45SPEAKER_03: Only two percent of the world has visible apps.
- 43:50SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's still a lot of people 'cause there's a lot of people on the planet.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:54SPEAKER_03: But still, bro, like that's wild.
- 43:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:58SPEAKER_02: No, that that's that's crazy.
- 43:59SPEAKER_02: That's a Goal.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: I'm starting my as it's starting to come in.
- 44:03SPEAKER_02: I gotta I gotta I gotta get leader myself.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: But uh no no that's that's a goal I've had for myself.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: I remember I when I first started working out the I think the second month when I started working out, um I was going on a vacation and I thought I thought I was gonna have abs by the time I went on vacation.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: I started at 260 pounds.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: It's like that's that that's it's way further away than you think, bro.
- 44:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah everyone's like, oh, if I lose 30 pounds, I'll have abs.
- 44:28SPEAKER_03: No, you might as well.
- 44:29SPEAKER_03: Like I thought, like, I have abs now, but I've lost 110 pounds.
- 44:33SPEAKER_03: I thought I was only 60 pounds away from having abs.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: Because like as I lost weight, I'm like, oh, I can see the outline of my abs.
- 44:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, I can see the outline of my abs.
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: But you still have a lot more fat to dig away from than you think.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: Like, and I want everyone to know like anyone who listened to this, you can anybody can have abs, bro.
- 44:49SPEAKER_03: I'm 30 years old, I'm in the best shape of my life with three kids, and I'm a very busy person.
- 44:53SPEAKER_03: I've never had this deep of abs in my life.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: And if you don't believe me, you can go to my Instagram and look how thick my abs.
- 44:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:00SPEAKER_02: No, I I uh I'd probably need to lose another 10, 20 comments myself, honestly.
- 45:05SPEAKER_02: But uh just gotta, I mean, you gotta you gotta that's another thing.
- 45:09SPEAKER_02: You have to be realistic with where you are to then get to where you want to be.
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: Like, for me, an issue that I've had in the past is wanting everything now.
- 45:17SPEAKER_02: Like, especially starting so young.
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: I genuinely believe that I can be one of, if not the best uh or most successful entrepreneurs of all time.
- 45:27SPEAKER_02: That was achieving other things in my personal life, but like I'm not gonna do that today.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna become a millionaire or a billionaire today.
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: Like, it's one cup at a time.
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: That's bro.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: Even if it takes until you're 30, like imagine like everybody you're doing a podcast with, like, as my channel blows up and people Google my name, and then they see you did an interview with me, and they're like, What's this?
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: And then you do another interview with someone that blows up, and then you do another interview with someone that blows up.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: You're only 20, bro.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: Like, imagine if you stayed this consistent interview and this many people do this much personal development for five years, like right.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: There's no 25-year-old I know that's done that for that long.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: Selfishly, that is part of it.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Another part of it is the networking, because you're just gonna be able to have some great conversations like this.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're gonna learn from every conversation you have having in podcasts directly about improvement.
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: That's another thing about a mentor.
- 46:23SPEAKER_03: Everyone that signs up with me, I post on my social media, it's like, dude, this company right here, favored by God, I didn't even know who they were, bro.
- 46:31SPEAKER_03: They messaged me and said, Hey, you inspired me to start a business.
- 46:34SPEAKER_03: It's called Favored by God, winners only.
- 46:37SPEAKER_03: And they're like, We want to send you a free hoodie.
- 46:39SPEAKER_03: So, like, just me staying consistent have helped someone inspire start with their own clothing company, and then I got a free$70 hoodie on it.
- 46:46SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, like the networking consistency changes so many things.
- 46:50SPEAKER_03: And then, like, I posted them on my story.
- 46:52SPEAKER_03: They only have like 200 followers right now.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 46:54SPEAKER_03: I have 7,000, and then I'm on this podcast right now where more people are gonna see this, and they didn't pay me to talk about it.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: I just think it's a cool concept.
- 47:02SPEAKER_03: And then my video editor that I used to have, bro, he was a 15-year-old kid, and I had him almost 10 clients.
- 47:08SPEAKER_03: He was making$450 per client.
- 47:11SPEAKER_03: So at 15 years old, he was making$4,500 a month.
- 47:14SPEAKER_03: And all he did, bro, he took one of my videos, he messaged me, he's like, Hey, I did this for you for free.
- 47:20SPEAKER_03: Do you like it?
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: I'm like, that's cute, bro.
- 47:22SPEAKER_03: He's like, I charge$450 a month.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: I'm like, all right, let's do it.
- 47:25SPEAKER_03: That was that simple.
- 47:26SPEAKER_03: And then I went to the Boston sit-down where I met like Andy Frisella and like really big shots there, and I was like networking with everyone there, and they're like, dude, I love your Instagram.
- 47:34SPEAKER_03: I found you after your speech.
- 47:36SPEAKER_03: Like, well, who does your video editing?
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: I'm like, this dude does, this dude does, this dude does.
- 47:39SPEAKER_03: I got all three clients, dude.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Damn.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: So you did a speech on the first forum uh uh meetup.
- 47:47SPEAKER_03: So it was a boss to sit down, they have people come like stand up and tell their stories like to the speaker and ask some questions, but they tell you to introduce yourself at first.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: I just stood up and like, hey guys, my name's Kyle Perry, I own a fairy style house fitness, it's a veteran company.
- 48:00SPEAKER_03: I've lost over 100 pounds since fighting sobriety.
- 48:03SPEAKER_03: My mission and motto is making men and veterans so I'm getting through destroying their uh the their vices.
- 48:08SPEAKER_03: Then I asked a question, and like so many people came up to me after that.
- 48:11SPEAKER_03: I didn't even intend it to do that, but so many people came up to me, like, I dude, I love your mission.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: What's your Instagram?
- 48:16SPEAKER_03: Let me help you.
- 48:16SPEAKER_03: How do we network?
- 48:17SPEAKER_03: Like, people are so scared to tell their story, bro.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: But there's people that are intrigued by what you have to say.
- 48:23SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 48:24SPEAKER_02: I I think I always think to myself, actually, I was I I was on a walk earlier just trying to get some be more mindful.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: And I think networking, no matter what business you're in, is pretty much the most important thing.
- 48:38SPEAKER_02: Like, other than discipline and like work ethic and grind, like networking is the most important thing.
- 48:45SPEAKER_02: The people you know will get you indoors that you otherwise could not open.
- 48:49SPEAKER_03: Dude, on my Instagram live, I have I have interviewed Stan Efforting.
- 48:53SPEAKER_03: He created the vertical diet, he's the strongest bodybuilder of all time.
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: He was my idol, bro.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: I've been shouted out on CT Fletcher's Instagram.
- 49:01SPEAKER_03: Like, I interviewed Cole da Silva, which is 1.7 million followers on TikTok, all from networking, bro.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: And then what it is, you're like, hey, Cole, I interviewed Stan Efforting not so long ago.
- 49:11SPEAKER_03: He's like, damn, he's famous.
- 49:13SPEAKER_03: I'm famous, but he's more famous.
- 49:14SPEAKER_03: I'll come on, and then the next person does it, and the next person does it, and then you do the same thing.
- 49:18SPEAKER_03: Like, as soon as you get like a really big guest on, like, oh, I interviewed him, come on, and then everyone will because like social media followers, I don't care what anyone wants to say, like, it's not about the following.
- 49:29SPEAKER_03: Your followers are your currency, bro.
- 49:32SPEAKER_02: I saw something the other day, and I actually honestly agree, uh, because it's an influence, but I think one million followers on Instagram or one million followers on social media may very well be more valuable than one million dollars.
- 49:48SPEAKER_02: A thousand percent.
- 49:49SPEAKER_02: Because what if you sold a two dollar item?
- 49:51SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 49:51SPEAKER_02: That's why I think you made two million dollars.
- 49:54SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, 100% won't buy, but right, you get at$2, and especially I mean, if it if it's a good product, two dollars.
- 50:03SPEAKER_03: But over time, if people would buy, then your followers would keep climbing, and those people would keep sharing.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 50:08SPEAKER_03: And then if it's a good like word of mouth, and money isn't much, dude, if you don't know what to do with it.
- 50:12SPEAKER_03: Like, I could give someone a million dollars right now, they'll be broken a year.
- 50:16SPEAKER_02: I was thinking about what I would do with a million dollars the other day, and I'm like, well, you know what?
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: I actually think I was thinking I was thinking about like a billion.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm like, I had no idea what I'd do with a billion.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: So the first thing I would do is invest in a mentor.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: Like I would get one of these guys and I'd get a mentor and I would dump like a million dollars into just my social media.
- 50:36SPEAKER_02: Right, exactly.
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: Advertisement just to get more follows.
- 50:40SPEAKER_03: That's all I'd do.
- 50:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just one million dollars straight to ads.
- 50:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:44SPEAKER_02: No sounds.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: I am going to start most likely doing some ads here soon, just so I can spread the message, you know, so that impact more lives.
- 50:55SPEAKER_02: See, that's that's at the end of the day, that's that's what it's about.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's changing lives, impacting lives, and and improving men.
- 51:03SPEAKER_02: Um, same as you have said having a little bit of a different niche, but uh um, yeah, that's that's the end of the the end of the um road goal, is is just impacting as many people as possible.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: And obviously, like there's a lot of intent behind that too.
- 51:19SPEAKER_03: But and then hit up my mentor, bro.
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, not even to sign him up, get him on the podcast.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: He comes on smaller podcasts all the time, even though he's famous, because like he just wants to get his word out there more and more and more.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: Like it might be hard for you to get through his inbox, but if you just keep sending the DM, eventually he might see it, bro.
- 51:34SPEAKER_03: He has 500,000 followers.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: You add him as a collaborator, all of a sudden you reel got 100,000 views, and now you got a thousand followers more.
- 51:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 51:41SPEAKER_02: What did he say his name was again?
- 51:43SPEAKER_02: Wes Watson.
- 51:44SPEAKER_02: Wes Watson.
- 51:46SPEAKER_02: I looked him up earlier.
- 51:48unknown: Okay.
- 51:48SPEAKER_02: That's a cool video, bro.
- 51:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll send him a message.
- 51:50SPEAKER_02: I'll try and I'll tell him I got I just did a uh uh podcast of Kyle Perry, and like, hey, I'm I'm very serious about what I'm doing.
- 51:57SPEAKER_02: Uh would love to connect and see how I can help you out.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: You know, yeah, ask your film comment.
- 52:02SPEAKER_02: That's the other thing.
- 52:03SPEAKER_02: That's it, that's another thing, it's providing free value.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: Like, I made I actually have a video coming out on this um uh here soon, and it's about like providing free value actually makes your business more successful.
- 52:18SPEAKER_02: I there's like actually statistic that like I think it's like 20% higher retention um and profit from businesses that give away free value.
- 52:28SPEAKER_03: Uh I think it was like specifically for email marketing, but like, dude, you you just give away free value to prove yours that you know you're doing anyways.
- 52:37SPEAKER_03: Or like one of the guys I did a live interview with, he's like, Thanks so much, you're helping me more.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: I'm helping you up because I only had 200 followers.
- 52:43SPEAKER_03: I'm like, bro, it's not about your following, it's about getting the mission out.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 52:48SPEAKER_03: Like, and I'm helping you, and like the universe knows when you help people, bro.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: Like now I just sheared him to 7,000 of my followers, right?
- 52:55SPEAKER_03: And now he's gonna grow, and then the universe knows I helped him, and then he helps more people.
- 53:00SPEAKER_03: Like, it's all about just being a better person in general, you know what I mean?
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: You know what's crazy is Alex Ramosy again, gives a he's like the king of free value, and he's a decamillionaire.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: But you talk to someone who's broke living on their mom's couch, and they're like, why would I work for free?
- 53:20SPEAKER_02: Like they add and they genuinely think their time is worth something.
- 53:23SPEAKER_02: And the sad truth is one, it's not, and two, you probably could get a high-paying job or high-paying gig working for someone who does make good money by giving first free value, like that 15-year-old kid did for you.
- 53:39SPEAKER_03: Dude, that's it, and that's exactly how I climbed up in the corporate world.
- 53:43SPEAKER_03: I worked more hours than everyone, I did things that weren't my job scope, and I proved myself over and over and over and over and over with no extra money.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: And then eventually they're like, this kid just keeps showing up no matter what.
- 53:55SPEAKER_03: Like it's just like, dude, I was the youngest plan manager on paper running a chemical plan, bro.
- 54:00SPEAKER_03: Like, and all I did was show up more than everyone else.
- 54:04SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 54:05SPEAKER_02: It's it's consistency, consistency, consistency.
- 54:09SPEAKER_02: It's it's it's honestly, it's a it's almost I I forget what the what what the what what the word I'm looking for right now is, but it's almost like so much out there, like so many people are like, oh yeah, I need to be consistent, but like they hear it everywhere, so they're like, it's that's bullshit.
- 54:28SPEAKER_02: But you hear it everywhere because it's not bullshit, because it's literally the thing that got people where they want to be, like, discipline and consistency and yada yada yada.
- 54:39SPEAKER_03: Like, no, it's that's what people are always like, well, I'm just gonna invest in the stock market because that's where the money's at.
- 54:44SPEAKER_03: But like, what do you think the stock market is?
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: It's consistently putting money into something that builds consistent interest over years and years and years.
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: So why would that not work with your life?
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: Back to Alex Armozzi, he says it all the time.
- 54:57SPEAKER_03: He's like, I didn't I didn't invest in the SP, I invested in the SMB, I invested into myself.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: It's the same thing, but it's just interest compounded over time, whether you put it in the stock market, you put it into yourself, you put it into your own business.
- 55:10SPEAKER_03: Because my wife the other day was like, So, like, we don't have a 401k, how do we retire?
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: I'm like, 401ks are for people with nine to fives.
- 55:16SPEAKER_03: You invest into real estate and you invest into yourself and you invest into other businesses.
- 55:20SPEAKER_03: Because you know how many people I know with 401ks in 2008 that couldn't retire because it crashed.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: Nothing's fake, bro, besides you.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: If you put all your chips on you and you know for a fact you won't quit, you'll always win.
- 55:34SPEAKER_02: I I think another thing that people need to pick up is not only investing money, because not everyone has money.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: There might be another 15-year-old kid on this podcast right now listening.
- 55:45SPEAKER_02: Another thing you need to invest is your time.
- 55:47unknown: Yeah.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Like again, going back to what I was saying.
- 55:50SPEAKER_03: Send people clothes for free if you have a clothing company, bro.
- 55:54SPEAKER_03: Send them something, bro.
- 55:56SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't care what it is, like postcard.
- 55:58SPEAKER_03: Like, if you can find their address, just send them a postcard and they're like, who is this?
- 56:02SPEAKER_03: Like, there's so many things you can do for free.
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: Like, bro, if you sell Rolexes, send somebody that wears Rolexes that has a big following a free Rolex.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 56:12SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 56:12SPEAKER_02: And it's like$15,000,$20,000 or whatever for more, probably more for the higher end higher end ones, but it's like, bro, this person gives you a shout-out to their let's say three million followers and then get, I don't know, a million story views.
- 56:28SPEAKER_03: Do you think one of these people?
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: That's a million people that just saw your business at the end of the card.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: You know how much money that would cost for the advertisement?
- 56:39SPEAKER_03: It would cost way more than 15 grand.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 56:42SPEAKER_02: That's I mean, I mean, it's like you're paying for their audience, kind of, but you're also paying for the for the for the connection.
- 56:52SPEAKER_02: Like again, going back to networking, the network, just having them in their connection, having them in your network is just like, do you not think that they're gonna have other friends who might be looking for exactly a real world right now?
- 57:05SPEAKER_03: Like bro, if someone sent me a$15,000 Rolex, I would one 100% check them out on Instagram and see who they are and what they're doing.
- 57:12SPEAKER_03: And two, I would post it because that's a cool thing to do to do for someone.
- 57:15SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying it has to be that expensive, but like just like this.
- 57:17SPEAKER_03: Like I made a real and added this dude as a collaborator.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: Put him on the tour.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: He didn't ask me to do any of that.
- 57:22SPEAKER_03: He was just like, hey, I want to send you a free hoodie because you motivate me to come.
- 57:26SPEAKER_02: And you you don't even sell ads, right?
- 57:28SPEAKER_02: So your ads, your ads are priceless.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: Because you I mean, like I'm some some influencers sell ads, just kind of should get income.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: But no, I don't I don't charge anything, I just put you on my page just because I'm right.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 57:42SPEAKER_03: Like I didn't all those people I share in my story every day that have some other followers and me.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, I just share them and share them because I like helping other people build.
- 57:48SPEAKER_03: Like, I just I just think being a good person genuinely, like I know I cuss and scream at people, but genuinely like I'm like, I like I always told people like I want to be like I I consider myself like the Jake Paul of the mindset business.
- 58:01SPEAKER_03: Because like everyone thought he was a bad person, but genuinely he just wanted to help Oxy.
- 58:05SPEAKER_03: And like that's the same thing I'm trying to do with mindset fitness.
- 58:08SPEAKER_03: Like they think I'm a bad person because I'm aggressive, but I'm genuinely just trying to help.
- 58:12SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 58:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is it's I mean, especially with your with your with your niche uh uh veterans.
- 58:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's what they're used to anyway.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: I mean, you go to a I I've never been in the military myself, so I can't speak on it too much, but you know, the the cliche is just being yelled at by your commander or whatever.
- 58:32SPEAKER_03: You know, it's and that goes back to you always have a mentor because you're higher ranking, your next rank up is your mentor.
- 58:37SPEAKER_03: You're forced to go to monthly counseling.
- 58:38SPEAKER_03: Like mentors are everywhere.
- 58:40SPEAKER_03: Your job, you have a mentor, your supervisors, your mentor.
- 58:43SPEAKER_03: I don't want a mentor, like bro, you have you get counselings at work, you get counselings at in the military, you get counselings in school, those were your mentors.
- 58:51SPEAKER_03: Everyone has always had a mentor.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: They just I will say I will say one thing that I've been thinking about is if if you do have a job, you don't have your own business yet, and even if you do have your own business, so you can you can flip this, but like if you have a job, try and work for someone who you actually are inspired by what by by their life.
- 59:13SPEAKER_02: Like for example, I know people in real estate that have a that have a million-dollar house, that have a beautiful family, that have they're well groomed, like I'd rather work for them than someone who doesn't have their shit together, you know, is is is starting some sketchy business, but it's paying you a ton of money.
- 59:32SPEAKER_02: Like, it's it's think about who you're surrounding yourself with.
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: And it on the flip side, if you're a business owner, like who are you gonna directly report to?
- 59:40SPEAKER_02: Who are you gonna hire underneath you?
- 59:42SPEAKER_02: Don't hire the guy who might take less money, but yeah, they're doing a shit job because one, it's gonna affect the business, and two, it's gonna affect you because you're, I mean, having to have them within your business like not only is it gonna make you less money, it's also gonna uh negatively impact your culture.
- 59:59SPEAKER_03: It's like right, no, I'm gonna pretend like the only place I've ever been successful at in the corporate world was that last place I was at.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_03: And it's because like when I walked in there for my interview, I saw the general managers driving like brand new auddies of brand new cars, and like the way they carried themselves, they had a nice house so you could tell they had a nice family.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_03: But most factory places I worked at before, the plant manager were like fat, overweight, didn't have a nice car because he let his vices beat him, and it never motivated me to want to be there because they didn't look successful.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_03: The first place I got to where the higher-ups actually look successful, I'm like, I want to be there, I'm gonna you know.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_02: One of the most important things, and I've I think I've touched on this before, is with being overweight, it's a it's that exact thing.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_02: Like, it's not just, oh yeah, I'm I'm 50 pounds overweight and I'm gonna die sooner.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_02: And yeah, all that's true.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_02: But you're also gonna one, not have the mindset, you're not gonna have the conviction to sell, you're not gonna have the respect, like no one no one's gonna respect you.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_02: I guarantee you, Kyle, are much more respected today than you were when you were 300 pounds.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_02: Am I correct?
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_03: Dude, and the thing is, I don't know anyone in a successful corporate world really high up in sales, it's extremely sad.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_03: I've never met one of them.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, you look at basically you look at anyone who's successful, and I mean, I'm thinking of I'm thinking of Lizzo now, but even her being, you know, her being canceled now.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_02: You think of anyone that's successful that you look up to, they're in shape.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_02: And it's like they might even they might not talk about fitness, but clearly they live it.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_02: So what do you think is the difference between them and you?
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_02: Like, you you want to get to that level.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: It's not just about working your ass off and then you know, drinking alcohol afterwards.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_03: I'm like, well, what have you accomplished?
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_03: And I'll tell them, and I'm like, oh, now you're just bragging.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_03: Like, bro, you ask me why what I'm saying makes sense and why I could teach people this, I tell you all my accolades, and then you're like, well, that don't even matter.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_03: Like, if my life don't matter, your life's service fuck don't matter.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_03: Like, if you've accomplished less than me, how can you tell me that I can't talk?
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_03: If you can tell that I can't talk when you've accomplished less than me, how can you do it?
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_03: Because people will come on, like, you're not a doctor, you can't talk about it.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_03: That's not how it works.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_03: How can you tell someone that's not how it works if you're not a doctor either?
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_03: They're still condescending in the words they say on the internet, bro.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: And I I think also part of it though is they are insecure with themselves, and so they're not going off on you, they're going off on themselves.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_02: They're hurting on the inside going out on you.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_03: You know, they're hurting on the M side.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_03: You know how people I find up that started off with hateful comments on my page a lot.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_03: There's a lot of people on inbox me like you're like used to go kill yourself, and then like 10 minutes later they're asking me how I do my plans.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_02: Right, right, exactly.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_02: It's hard, you know, especially if they're older, like they're 30, 40, 50, whatever.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_02: Like, and they have to really sit down and think about what they've done for the first half of their life, and they're like, Fuck.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're they're 30 years old and has accomplished a hundred times more than I have, and he's he is setting up a coaching business for something that I've never even been able to accomplish for myself.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_02: And it's like it's just very, very humbling.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_03: I'm not an envious person, bro, but I when I went to that Boston sit down, there was this 19-year-old kid that sold watches and he was at the private dinner with me.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_03: Bro, I could not have afforded to go to a private dinner at 19 years old.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_03: Like, I was like, damn, if I would have done this when I but the thing is, bro, like what they need to realize, those 60-year-olds, like they didn't internalize the change yet.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_03: So the money and the life, they wouldn't have been ready to live.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_03: They would have got the body they wanted, then they would have cheated on their wives.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_03: They would have got the money they wanted, and then they would have blew it.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_03: Like, if you're not ready for the success and the money, you will not treat it correctly.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_03: So, like, I'm glad that I went through all the trials and tribulations I did because I'm at the maturity level now to actually be able to enjoy this money.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_02: I see I say that all the time.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_02: Like, I am growing up, I had, like I said, very, very poor mental and physical health.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_02: And I'm actually a pretty big guy too.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_02: Um, obviously back then I was fat, but like I'm pretty tall.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_02: Um and I I mean, I wouldn't be where I am right now.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_02: I want to be on this podcast if I had not gone through trials and tribulations.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_02: They truly make you who you are.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, I if I had a great, you know, high school career, I probably would be in in college, like you said, spending 50k for a job that that will get you$22 an hour.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_02: But instead, I'm building this business that'll inevitably become way, way larger than that.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_03: You know, everything in our past what helped us get where we need to be, bro.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, I went to jail twice and I went to the military, and I did things I didn't like, and like I've almost been in a lot of trouble, and like a lot of my friends were dead in prison.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_03: But like I had to go through those things to realize how precious life was.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_03: That's why some people haven't ever changed, bro, because they've never gone through deep, dark things yet that ever forced them to need to change.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_03: Like, if you made it to 60 years old mediocre life, it's because you never really, really experienced true pain, true despair.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_02: I do think that's definitely true.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_02: Um I remember looking at some kids that just like they're they grew up wealthy, they grew up with everything, and you look at them and they're I mean they're fat slobs playing video games on their on their mom's couch, just like I said earlier.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, the only difference is they're on their mom's couch inside of a mansion.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_02: But she could that's like fault, too.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_03: Because like, yeah, I'm I'm very successful and I'll never let my kids get over the weight.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_03: I got I'm gonna I built my daughter's a beast in gymnastics.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_03: My son plays a ton of video games, but he's still in shape.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_03: I would rather let her get out of.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: Shape.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: My wife has a different mindset.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: She's like, he doesn't need to play as many video games.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: But I'm at the point where like I'm like, those people become successful at playing video games or being video editors or like being podcasters.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_03: So like let him do what he wants to do.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_03: If that's what he enjoys and he doesn't want to play sports, don't force him to do something that he doesn't want to do.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_03: Just make sure you are still disciplined in him and make sure he has those like core values into him, but let him do what he's actually passionate about, or you're gonna kill his flyer.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_02: I think if you do have those core values and you are following your passion, like you're you're bound to succeed.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're not uh because that's that is a common issue, I think, in a lot of parents' space is is wanting their kids to play less video games or get less springtime or whatever.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_02: I think of Gary V talking about like that's where the that's where the uh the economics are going.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_03: Like where it's going, bro.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_03: That's just old school mindsets like not understanding.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_03: Just like they don't understand we do podcasts.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_02: Like, why why are you on this call for for hours talking to some guy you've never talked to before?
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_03: Like, what but dude when they used to tell us never talk to strangers on the internet, exactly, exactly now.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_03: That's how you become successful, dude.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_03: The concept of Uber is really wild if you think about it.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_03: Because they're like never get in a stranger's car, and now we have them come pick us up at midnight, we need a rest.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_02: And you pay for it, you pay.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, you pay for it.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_02: You call them to like, hey, stranger, come pick me up.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_02: Come pick me up.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_02: This was my exact location.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_02: Um, but it it's really also about like how I said earlier, you're not only money isn't only thing that's in uh uh valuable, time is only that it's the other thing that's value, and you can even argue that it's more valuable than time because that money, because you're not gonna get it back, and that's what that's what people thought.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_03: Time is way more valuable.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_03: Like, for instance, if you compare me to you, you started 10 more years before me.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_03: At my age, you'll be like if you like got as successful as like as fast as I am, but you started at 20.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_03: Imagine how much more money you would have than me at my when I was right, right.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_03: Like money, obviously, like we said, isn't all a success, but compounding over time all the other things like your personal development, your body, your mind, your relationships, right ahead of where like where I'm which is crazy to think.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_02: I think one issue I've had with that, honestly, because everyone tells me that is one realizing I'm not gonna get everything today, and two, just like realizing where I'm actually at versus everyone telling me you're starting so young, you're like you're gonna kill it if you stay consistent.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, it but I this it's it's just a time delay.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_02: You just have to accept the time delay.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_02: It's the thing as the gym, you gotta put on the reps consistently.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_02: Balancing a successful career, family life, and personal well-being can be challenging.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_02: What strategies do you employ to manage stress and maintain your mental health?
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_03: So, um, the best I do a lot of breathing tactics.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_03: I actually used to have a panic disorder.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_03: I had to go to therapy for for a long time.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_03: And I learned a lot of these things through therapies.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_03: Like um, a lot of our flight or fight systems are broken in today's society because we don't run away from animals or we don't do the hunting or a lot of the other.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_03: Like when you feel very anxious, it was like our system back in the day, like there's a cheetah in the woods, you need to run.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_03: But now that sensor will go off because we don't use it and it's broken.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_03: So if you feel anxious or like you are having a lot of anxiety, you need to drop down, do some push-ups, move your body like it's supposed to, get your blood flowing.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_03: And I promise you, a lot of that feeling will go away.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_03: I still get anxious, bro.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_03: Like I my life is crazy.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_03: I do a lot of podcasts, I'm not sleeping a lot, do a lot of things.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_03: I have family.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_03: So I would sit here and I'd be lying if I said I don't have anxiety because I do get very anxious days where I have a lot of compounding things.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_03: But when it starts to feel overwhelming, I just drop down or I take a break, I go out and work out for 10 minutes, get my mind cleared, go on a walk, and then I refocus.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_02: I I think mixing that physical and mental health is is crucial.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_02: Like you said, push-ups and breathing tactics.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_03: Like I think breathing is probably the best one.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_03: If you didn't have time to work out, deep breathe in, hold it for four seconds, breathe out for three seconds, do that like three or four times, you will instantly feel cold.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_02: What are the top?
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_02: You want at the top or no?
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like I come, I breathe in like through my nose, hold it.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_03: Okay, and excel out.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_03: Excel.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've done that.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_02: I've also seen Huberman talking about um breathe in through your nose and then breathe in like a small one again because you're not gonna get it all.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_03: But the extra air effects fill up.
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that helps a lot.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_03: And it just feels like you just feel right.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_02: For me, I have I I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but when I've done it before, I just I feel like like I have all my all my breath in my uh I don't know, I've I've breathed all my breath in, so I kind of feel like I have to let it go because then it's it's gonna like I'm gonna suffocate or whatever.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_02: You know, I feel sort of weird feeling though.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_02: I well I do also have the advocate, so that can be part of it.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_02: But uh no, but you said you you you you used to go to therapy, you don't go into therapy anymore, correct?
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_03: No, I mean I kinda just do my own thing now.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_03: I stayed very disciplined, so I helps it out a lot.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_03: So back then, you know, I was overweight, I was drinking, so that was a lot of it.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_03: And then being in the corporate world is very stressful.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_03: Had a very stressful life in that, and then just compounded stuff.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_03: Everything's compounded.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_03: If it's anxiety, money, right?
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_03: It all boils down to it, all turns into a snowball effect.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_03: So if you have anxiety, it gets worse.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_02: It's like you know what is what if you don't take care of you kind of know a little bit.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_02: What's your opinion on therapy?
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_02: Because I um I used to go to intensive therapy.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_02: I actually I ended up uh in in inpatient one time for a week, uh, and I was in outpatient various times for for mental health and anger and all kinds of shit.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_02: Um, but I think for me, what truly helped is one, like you said, being more disciplined and actually doing it yourself by being in shape.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, like, because you're talking about it, but you're not really doing it.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_02: Like, I think now if I went to if I went back to therapy today, I could see I could be helpful because I could both be doing self-improvement on my own and working out physically while also talking it out to a third party who's neutral, who doesn't know who you are because then you know, if you talk to your parents, they're like, oh yeah, you know, it whatever, you know, you're doing great.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_03: Like therapy don't work unless you internalize the change.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_03: Like we were talking about.
- 1:12:56unknown: Right.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_03: Coaching doesn't work, mentoring doesn't work unless you internalize the change.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_03: Like you can go talk to your therapist all day, but unless you apply what they tell you, then you actually take your life more serious and like better.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_03: Most therapists are gonna tell you to work out and eat better.
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, that's that's like all all therapists are mental health experts.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_03: Most of them tell you to eat better, they ask you if you work out, they tell you.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I've had a therapist tell me that, which is it, which is crazy.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_02: So maybe I haven't had a good therapist, but uh that's wild.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like I went because I have my one that I used to prescribing medications, and I have my actual therapist at the VA, and they both asked, and they like they want you to work out.
- 1:13:33unknown: Right.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_03: But they were both in shape.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_03: Now, if you go to a therapist that's not in shape, they're not gonna tell you.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_02: I I have had in-shape therapists for the most part, but uh no, I I mean to this day, and I say this all the time, to this day, I always people tell people I work out more for my mental health than I work out for my physical health, and that's that's why I started too.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_03: Um I post what I look like because it helps like promote myself, but I don't really care.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_03: I just feel like exactly.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, it it's mental health is so much more important, I think, than than physical health.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_02: And you but you cannot achieve mental health without physical health, and that's that's that's the funny part.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_02: Like it's more important, but you can't do mental without a physical for sure.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_03: And the thing is, they don't have to do as much as they think, like they could just do a 10-minute walk after every meal and just eat better, and that alone will improve it.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, it it's I think what makes most people fail is they want to go from zero to 100.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_02: They want to go from drinking and and eating fast food and doing all kinds of bullshit and doing you know, only eating eating salads and eating like only drinking water and going for a two-hour run every day, and like that's not maintainable.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_02: That's not how you're gonna lose weight.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_02: And that's and that's why they failed that's that's why I that's why I only lost my weight in the in the beginning because of intermittent fasting, because I couldn't stick to it.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_03: And that's why they fail, they take it too seriously too fast.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_03: You can get to that point if that's how you want to live life, but you can't start tomorrow if you're not doing anything and live life like that.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_03: It'd never work.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_03: It'd never work.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_02: I I I also I I mean, I also did no cardio in the beginning, by the way.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_02: Like, and I lost weight.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_02: Uh, I I remember I actually always started doing cardio because I got bored of lifting.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_02: Like I it just became boring because I was doing it every day.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_02: So I I kept lifting, but I started doing cardio just to switch it up.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_02: And I mean it.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_03: My first 50 my first 50 pounds, I didn't do cardio at all.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_03: Um, now I just do cardio mainly for heart health and mental clarity.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_03: Like rucking is very good for your mental health.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_03: If you can put a 45-pound pack on your p on your back and walk for an hour and tell yourself not to quit and like be within your mind and just talk to yourself, it's the most relaxing thing you can ever feel.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_03: It's like it's just like a runner's euphe.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_03: Do you do you have hills around you?
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_03: Because I know you said you're in Ohio, which is not.
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_03: They're not huge.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_03: They're not huge, but like when I walk, I walk my block and like the two two uh side roads, they're like maybe like 45 degree hills.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, I see.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's it's it's I need I need to try that myself, honestly.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_02: I need to uh I've been meaning to start running more, not rucking, but rucking I definitely could see as valuable too.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_02: I've seen um a machine at the gym where they load weights on the side and you walk up like as if you're walking up a hill.
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_02: It's it's that that looks tough.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_02: I I haven't tried it, but it it looks tough.
- 1:16:44SPEAKER_02: Um and I think another thing is if you are not wanting to do something, that's what you need to do.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_02: And you know, honestly like I do it.
- 1:16:52SPEAKER_02: Just another another attack on the discipline meter.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_02: Like, like now that there, no other day.
- 1:16:58SPEAKER_02: Yesterday, I uh I got into cold plunge.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_02: I was like, dude, I'm not into the cold plunge set.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_02: Um I I I still ended up going in, one for discipline, but two, because if you can't go in a cold plunge, imagine what Alice you cannot do.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_03: And a couple minutes, bro.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_03: Like if you can't force yourself to do something for a couple minutes, like there's like imagine if you have a task that's two hours talk.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_02: Like, there's the if you can't get in a cold the cold plunge to me is a symbol.
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_02: It's a symbol of resilience and discipline and and like showing that you can push through, not not just for the cold plunge, but then you can push through with other things in life.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, I for example, I used to have really poor social anxiety.
- 1:17:46SPEAKER_02: I remember that it was weird the first day I got into the gym, which is also something I was putting off, I became very sociable.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_02: Like I I am today, like very outgoing.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_02: I talk to everyone, which I probably annoy some people too talking to so many people, but you know, like who cares?
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_02: At the end of the day, if someone I actually made a post on this earlier today, if someone sees your content and is like, I hate this guy, are they gonna come to your house and pull up with a gun?
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_02: Or are they just gonna are they just gonna scroll?
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_03: They're just gonna if they pull up to your house with a gun, all you gotta do is pull a gun out too.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_02: But uh I I think we're going a little bit over time.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_02: I know you said you had a meeting to get to, and then we're going it's uh 4 35.
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, I gotta go in like five minutes.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_03: Um you have like any final questions you want to go over really quick?
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_02: Um we see if there's anything in here.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_02: Well, let me ask you, do you have anything else that you would like to either answer or touch on or ask me?
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_03: So pretty much I just end every podcast with like if somebody stays this long and they they want to make a change, I just tell them, like, you just have to start, bro.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_03: Like, there is no perfect time to start.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_03: There is no perfect time to start a business, there's no perfect time to lose weight, there's no perfect time to get sober, there's no perfect time to start a podcast.
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_03: Like, you're if you wait for the perfect time, you will go the rest of your life and miss every opportunity.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_03: Like, I had the most I never should have like left my job with the circumstances that happened, but I just did it because I knew I had to.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_03: Like, I spent a bunch of money on like a bunch of different things that this just so aligned to when I wanted to leave my job, but I still left my job and I just put my back against the wall and I did it.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_03: Most people would have been like, I just spent too much money the last three months, I'm not doing this.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_03: But I know this is my purpose, and like at the end of the day, if you know you need to lose weight or you have visions of being a better person, like Steve Harvey says it all the time.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_03: Like, if you're having visions of nicer cars, nicer houses, nicer anything, a better body, that's not by mistake, bro.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_03: That's the universe telling you you can have those things, you just need to figure out how to get right.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_02: And then it's it's like you said, it's never the best time.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_02: There's actually there's actually a quote, I think, that says the best time to play in a tree or start a podcast and start working out was yesterday.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_02: But yesterday's no longer here, so the best time to start is today.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, if you're feeling motivated, like go meal prep right now, have it already ready for tomorrow.
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_03: Because when you wake up tomorrow without motivation, you already have your your success plan.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_02: And also, when you wake up tomorrow, chances are you're not gonna want to because you're gonna be groggy or tired, and uh hopefully you can get to the point where you're not draw game the morning.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_02: But one last question, in your opinion, what is the single most crucial trait an individual should cultivate to achieve success?
- 1:20:43SPEAKER_03: Uh it's always discipline, you always have to have discipline.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_03: If you can't figure out how to have because I had this question today, they're like, I'm they said they were struggling with motivation.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_03: You're always gonna struggle with motivation.
- 1:20:54SPEAKER_03: Everyone, I wake up all the time like I don't want to do this shit.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_03: And then I'm just like, I have to.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_03: There's people that are they're banking on me to win, and I have discipline enough to just force myself to you guys.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_02: I think you have to like look around you, like look at especially if you have a family, like look at your wife, look at your children.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_02: How can you not be motivated?
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_02: Like, that's all the motivation you need.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_02: And I I don't have a wife, I don't have a family.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_02: Like, I I'm you know, I'm not there yet, but like, how can you not be motivated by these little children who you put into the earth?
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_02: You're not motivated to make a good life for them.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree, bro.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 1:21:35SPEAKER_03: But Kyle, I I appreciate your time here, man.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_03: Um, how can people find you?
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_03: So they just go to my Instagram, and everything's through my Instagram.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_03: I don't have any sales funnels, no sales clothes, there's nothing.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_03: You'll talk to me directly, and it says Perry's underscore powerhouse underscore fitness, which is on the screen.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_03: And you just add me and send me a DM.
- 1:21:53SPEAKER_03: Just make sure you follow me so that way it doesn't go into my request box.
- 1:21:55SPEAKER_03: There's so many in there I miss sometimes.
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_03: So just that's pretty much it, man.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_03: And if you guys want some aggressive content in your life to wake you up, come to me.
- 1:22:03SPEAKER_03: If you get offended really easily, I probably wouldn't come to my page.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_02: So the story on this real quick before we wrap up.
- 1:22:11SPEAKER_02: I remember when I first got into this business, I uh I messaged Kyle, and I have right now still about 170 followers on Instagram.
- 1:22:21SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, hey, do you want to get on this podcast?
- 1:22:23SPEAKER_02: I think your message will be very, very valuable.
