- 0:00Speaker 1: And to do it the rest of the campaign, the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Super PAC would have to spend $ 40 million, but the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Tallarico campaign would only need to spend $ 8 million to
- 0:10Speaker 1: shout as loud as the Super PAC. The president's PAC
- 0:13Speaker 1: needs to spend somewhere between $ 100 and $ 150 million in
- 0:17Speaker 1: the remaining six weeks of the campaign, simply to be
- 0:20Speaker 1: on a level playing field with Tallarico, who has to spend,
- 0:24Speaker 1: with the lowest unit rate, considerably less.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:33Speaker 3: the 47 Morning Update. And we've got two big stories
- 0:35Speaker 3: for you. First up, Donald Trump in a Labor Day
- 0:38Speaker 3: message says the GOP will win big in the midterms
- 0:42Speaker 3: because the radical left lunatics, communists and Democrats trying to, quote,
- 0:47Speaker 3: ruin America. We'll have the details of exactly what his
- 0:51Speaker 3: plan is. Up next, President Donald Trump's MAGA Inc. has
- 0:55Speaker 3: now poured $ 10 million into Ken Paxton's Senate race in Texas.
- 1:01Speaker 3: What's behind the decision and what does it mean moving forward?
- 1:03Speaker 3: We break that down as well. Now, before we get
- 1:06Speaker 3: to those stories, the stakes, they could not be higher
- 1:09Speaker 3: than they are right now. We've got the midterms that
- 1:12Speaker 3: are happening and we have the midterm convention this week
- 1:15Speaker 3: in Dallas. We've got a president and administration fighting hard
- 1:19Speaker 3: for America first. But if conservatives lose focus, the same
- 1:22Speaker 3: people who created this mess, well, they can't wait to
- 1:25Speaker 3: resume their destructive progressive agenda. And protecting this momentum is
- 1:30Speaker 3: more than just votes. It's taking everyday Americans like you,
- 1:34Speaker 3: staying in the fight for our rights and freedoms. And
- 1:37Speaker 3: that's why I want you to know about Patriot Mobile.
- 1:40Speaker 3: They are America's only Christian conservative wireless provider. And Patriot
- 1:45Speaker 3: Mobile offers you premium nationwide service on all three major networks.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Unlimited data plans, mobile hotspots, international roaming, they've got it all.
- 1:55Speaker 4: But this is the part that I love.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Patriot Mobile puts your money towards causes defending faith, family,
- 2:01Speaker 3: and freedom. They literally contribute millions each year to organizations
- 2:06Speaker 3: on the front lines fighting for all of our God-given rights.

- 2:39Speaker 3: the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:43Speaker 3: We're less than 48 hours away from the big midterm convention.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Now this has never been done before by either party.
- 2:51Speaker 3: President Donald Trump made it clear. that he believed we
- 2:54Speaker 3: needed a midterm convention to talk to the American people
- 2:57Speaker 3: and to explain to them why life is better off
- 3:00Speaker 3: now with Trump's policies, America First policies, than what we
- 3:04Speaker 3: will have if Democrats regain control of the House and
- 3:07Speaker 3: or the Senate. Now, we know how slim the margins
- 3:10Speaker 3: have been, especially on the Senate side, and for that matter,
- 3:13Speaker 3: on the House side. And Democrats are betting on many
- 3:17Speaker 3: Trump voters staying home on Election Day this coming November.
- 3:21Speaker 3: President Donald Trump predicted on Monday in his Labor Day
- 3:25Speaker 3: message that Republicans will win big in the critical midterm
- 3:28Speaker 3: elections this November. Trump delivering this message, which he also
- 3:33Speaker 3: decided to go after Democrats in a post on True Social.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Here's what he said.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Quote, Happy Labor Day to all, including the radical left lunatics,
- 3:43Speaker 3: the communists, and the Democrats who will do anything possible
- 3:47Speaker 3: to destroy our country. These deranged people, after fighting for
- 3:50Speaker 3: 10 years, should finally acknowledge that your favorite president, me,
- 3:55Speaker 3: knows how to win. They should be exhausted by now,
- 3:58Speaker 3: but sadly they're not. They're going to give it one
- 4:00Speaker 3: last shot at ruining America. But we're not going to
- 4:03Speaker 3: let that happen. We're going to win the midterms big
- 4:07Speaker 3: and save America. President Donald J.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Trump.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Now, Republicans control the House of Representatives with a 218-214
- 4:13Speaker 3: majority over the Democrats. With one independent, Representative Kevin Kiley,
- 4:20Speaker 3: a Republican from California, well, he defected. Now, in the Senate,
- 4:24Speaker 3: Republicans hold a 53-47 majority when all senators are actually
- 4:30Speaker 3: present and voting. That's the big problem for Donald Trump there. Now,
- 4:34Speaker 3: for a party with a presidency in both chambers in Congress,
- 4:38Speaker 3: it is historically incredibly difficult. to preserve both the congressional
- 4:43Speaker 3: majorities at the midterm elections. Prevailing in the midterms has
- 4:47Speaker 3: only happened twice for a majority party with control of
- 4:51Speaker 3: both chambers and the presidency. It most recently happened back
- 4:55Speaker 3: in 2002 when Republicans expanded their majorities under President George W.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Bush on the heels of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Now,
- 5:05Speaker 3: before that, Democrats expanded their majorities in the House and
- 5:08Speaker 3: the Senate under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt back in 1934. Republicans,
- 5:14Speaker 3: by the way, received a positive sign in the latest
- 5:16Speaker 3: Harvard-Harris poll. Among likely voters, 51% said they're more likely
- 5:22Speaker 3: to vote for a Republican and 49% said they're more
- 5:25Speaker 3: likely to vote for a Democrat. giving the GOP a
- 5:29Speaker 3: two percentage point advantage. Now, the survey goes against broader
- 5:33Speaker 3: polling trends showing Democrats with an edge and the generic
- 5:38Speaker 3: congressional ballot. Now, the poll was also conducted over the
- 5:42Speaker 3: last several days. In fact, it was the 28th of
- 5:45Speaker 3: August through the 30th. Now, President Trump's message and the
- 5:49Speaker 3: publication of the poll also comes as Republicans, as I mentioned.
- 5:53Speaker 3: are set to host a first-of-its-kind Republican convention in the midterms.
- 6:00Speaker 3: That will happen in Dallas, Texas this week. We will
- 6:03Speaker 3: be there live, by the way, each and every day.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And as the Trump-aligned powerhouse super PAC, MAGA Inc., has
- 6:10Speaker 3: begun spending by committing $ 10 million as well to the
- 6:14Speaker 3: Texas Senate race between Republican Kim Paxson and the Democrat
- 6:18Speaker 3: James Tallarico.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I'm going to have more on that in a moment.
- 6:22Speaker 3: But let me wrap up this first story by saying
- 6:25Speaker 3: it is clear the president's ready to fight.
- 6:27Speaker 4: He's ready to fight hard.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He's ready to remind the American people of exactly why
- 6:32Speaker 3: the president's agenda is important. And if you voted for
- 6:35Speaker 3: President Trump's agenda just two years ago, then it's time
- 6:38Speaker 3: to make sure you don't let Democrats stop it for
- 6:41Speaker 3: the next two years. And that's why this midterm convention
- 6:44Speaker 3: clearly is so vitally important.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Next, story number two.
- 6:48Speaker 3: There is a massive race in Texas and virtually everyone
- 6:51Speaker 3: is talking about in the political world and almost every
- 6:54Speaker 3: political donor has connections to this race. The amount of
- 6:59Speaker 3: money coming into James Tallarico's campaign from outside the state
- 7:02Speaker 3: of Texas is historic and a number in which we've
- 7:06Speaker 3: never dreamed of before. Well, now there are concerns that
- 7:10Speaker 3: there's not enough money going into Ken Paxton's campaign, into
- 7:13Speaker 3: his corner, into advocating for him. Well, President Donald Trump's
- 7:18Speaker 3: MAGA Inc., the super PAC that he is behind, is
- 7:21Speaker 3: putting at least $ 10 million, we were told over the weekend,
- 7:25Speaker 3: behind the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in that race
- 7:28Speaker 3: against Tallarico. A Federal Election Commission filing that was submitted
- 7:33Speaker 3: on Saturday shows the group plans to spend $ 5 million
- 7:38Speaker 3: promoting Paxton and then another $ 5 million directly attacking the
- 7:42Speaker 3: record of James Tallarico.
- 7:44Speaker 4: The filing marks MAGA Inc.
- 7:46Speaker 3: 's first reported investment in the fall campaign ahead of
- 7:50Speaker 3: the November midterm elections. And when it comes to taxes,
- 7:54Speaker 3: Ken Paxton is the better choice. And the MAGA War
- 7:57Speaker 3: Room put out their first campaign, well, video. And here's
- 8:01Speaker 3: what it sounded like.
- 8:03Speaker 5: James Tallarico voted to make it easier to increase property taxes,
- 8:07Speaker 5: supported a $ 4 trillion tax hike, and Tallarico supports a
- 8:12Speaker 5: radical health care plan that could close rural hospitals and
- 8:15Speaker 5: cost thousands in new taxes. Ken Paxton supports tax cuts
- 8:21Speaker 5: and has a plan to let you deduct medical expenses
- 8:24Speaker 5: and the down payment on your home. When it comes
- 8:26Speaker 5: to taxes, Ken Paxton's the better choice. Mega Inc. is
- 8:30Speaker 5: responsible for the content of this advertising.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Now, you can hear there, it's pretty clear that MAGA Inc.
- 8:36Speaker 3: is making sure that this election is about the economy.
- 8:39Speaker 3: In fact, the MAGA Inc. spokesperson said Saturday that the
- 8:43Speaker 3: group plans to focus its campaign on Tallarico's tax record
- 8:47Speaker 3: and other policy positions, saying high-tax Tallarico wants to take
- 8:51Speaker 3: money out of Texans' pockets. It's going to ensure, they say,
- 8:55Speaker 3: that Texans know about Tallarico's radical policies and why it's
- 9:00Speaker 3: so important to elect Paxson to the U.S.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Senate.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Now, James Tallarico not only means higher taxes, but here's
- 9:06Speaker 3: the second ad that they're now running.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Tired of paying more in taxes?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Ken Paxton pushing his new plan to make living more
- 9:14Speaker 2: affordable for Texans.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Paxton's plan? Doubling the child tax credit. Big write-offs for
- 9:20Speaker 5: medical expenses. And a $ 50, 000 deduction for first-time homebuyers. James
- 9:25Speaker 5: Tallarico supported a trillion-dollar tax hike. Higher property taxes and
- 9:29Speaker 5: higher taxes on Social Security.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Tallarico, higher taxes. Paxton, lower taxes. A clear choice.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Mega Inc. is responsible for the content of this advertising.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It's very clear this race is heating up. Now, before
- 9:42Speaker 3: entering the Texas race, MAGA Inc. only major midterm expenditure
- 9:47Speaker 3: was $ 827, 000 payment benefiting Senator Darlene Graham's campaign in South Carolina.
- 9:54Speaker 4: The group had otherwise.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Spent roughly $ 18, 000 on a midterm contest this year. following
- 10:00Speaker 3: about $ 1. 7 million in spending last year. Now, it's raised
- 10:04Speaker 3: approximately $ 401 million through the end of the second quarter.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Trump said Friday that the super PAC could use between
- 10:10Speaker 3: $ 400 and $ 500 million of its roughly $ 1 billion in
- 10:14Speaker 3: available funds to help Republican candidates. Quote, I'm going to
- 10:19Speaker 3: spend whatever amount of money is necessary to try and
- 10:21Speaker 3: help us, Trump said to reporters. Paxton, as you know,
- 10:24Speaker 3: is set to face Tallarico in November after the Democrat
- 10:28Speaker 3: defeated Jasmine Crockett, the radical left Democrat, in the March primary.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Paxton secured the Republican nomination after defeating the incumbent, Senator
- 10:38Speaker 3: John Cornyn, in a May runoff. Now, the Texas contest
- 10:42Speaker 3: is expected to be among the races that could decide
- 10:45Speaker 3: control of the Senate. And as I mentioned earlier, Republicans
- 10:48Speaker 3: hold that very thin majority at 53-47. So now you
- 10:53Speaker 3: know we are getting ready for the big week this
- 10:56Speaker 3: week of the midterm convention. And you'll understand exactly what
- 10:59Speaker 3: the president's focused on. And that is getting candidates like
- 11:03Speaker 3: Ken Paxton across the finish line. And it's clear he's
- 11:07Speaker 3: asking for all of your help, not just financially, but
- 11:11Speaker 3: also getting out and voting.
