- 0:45Today we're going to be talking about a company named Max Space
- 0:48and the idea of building massive, massive, massive
- 0:54inflatable space stations on Mars.
- 1:02What is this? What is this thing?
- 1:05I'm not 100% sure that this is even feasible, but according to
- 1:08Max Space, within the next 10 years we're gonna have stadium
- 1:13sized space stations in the orbit of the Earth, but also
- 1:17space stations on the surface of Mars, possibly in Mars orbit
- 1:22anywhere in the solar system. And most of these, every
- 1:26component could be flown on a SpaceX Falcon 9, and in the
- 1:32future for the stadium, the massive ones could be launched
- 1:36on a SpaceX Starship. Now these things have been tried
- 1:39in the past, and some of them successful and some of them not
- 1:43so successful, but right. Now.
- 1:46There are two that we know of. One of the Co founders of this
- 1:49company actually has two inflatable modules in space
- 1:54right now and they've been orbiting the Earth for a while.
- 1:58Now I want to tell you about Maxspace.
- 1:59They just released kind of a press release recently and I'm
- 2:04going to talk about some of the points of this press release. 40
- 2:09years of building successful space companies is Maxspace 2
- 2:13entrepreneurs. Aaron Kemmer, who's the Co
- 2:16founder of Maxspace and said that they're going to bring this
- 2:22technology to light in the next few years.
- 2:27I don't even understand this because it's so wild.
- 2:31I'd love to bring you wild stuff.
- 2:33Let's roll the clip here. You can see they're building a
- 2:37lunar module mock up, but also they have a clip of the interior
- 2:43of one of these modules. Absolutely massive amount of
- 2:47space for anybody that's travelling to space.
- 2:50So that was wild, right? You can see that there's an
- 2:52inflatable space station ready to be built.
- 2:55All of these modules can be connected.
- 2:58You can get different sizes, different shapes.
- 3:01They can do different things like medical.
- 3:05They could be a sleeping pod. There could be something like a
- 3:10workout pod. These things could be built into
- 3:12anything you wanted. Or maybe, like, they want to do
- 3:16they want to do a space hotel, They want to make it into a
- 3:20tourism destination, Put a couple of these pods up in space
- 3:23in orbit, fly people up there on a Falcon 9 dock with it.
- 3:28It'll be sturdy enough to do all this stuff.
- 3:29By the way, it's not inflatable like, you know, like a pool toy
- 3:33or something like that. It's very structurally rigid, so
- 3:36it can handle anything the space station can handle and then
- 3:40some. It's actually more protected
- 3:43from projectiles in the space station, which is incredible.
- 3:49They want to disrupt space, the Space Flight industry.
- 3:53They want to disrupt space tourism, because right now
- 3:57there's only a few things you can do in space.
- 4:00You can fly the space and orbit the Earth.
- 4:03You go to the space station and that's about it.
- 4:07But in the future, if Max Space is successful, they're going to
- 4:12allow people to go to space and live in a space hotel for a
- 4:16little while. It's like an Airbnb in space.
- 4:17How cool is that? Or maybe, you know, maybe
- 4:20there's a shorter duration where you do get to orbit the Earth a
- 4:23bunch of times, then come back down, dock with the Falcon 9,
- 4:27come back down or with the Dragon, sorry, the Crew Dragon.
- 4:30Then come back down to Earth. You know, when your mission is
- 4:34done, and think about the scientific benefits of having a
- 4:39massive space station. Not only can you have space to
- 4:44do things, room to do things, but you can bring up equipment,
- 4:47say on a SpaceX Starship. Massive equipment that you could
- 4:52feed into this thing in the future or masses of equipment.
- 4:56Not massive because we don't know what the ports are going to
- 4:59be like on this in the future. But masses of equipment, tonnage
- 5:04of equipment that you can put into low earth orbit inside of
- 5:07one of these modules sounds pretty impressive right?
- 5:12And the Co owners or the Co founders and Aaron Kemmer and
- 5:19maximum of Dejong Max is a visionary in this space
- 5:25designer, engineer manufacturing, space deployment.
- 5:29Everything is already been done by Max and he's built first two
- 5:33inflatable spacecraft pressure halls, Genesis One and Genesis 2
- 5:37which are circling the globe right now.
- 5:40So there's a proven track record from from at least Max going
- 5:45forward and also Aaron as sort of like a Aaron's the kind of
- 5:49the business guy behind this as far as I know and Max is the
- 5:53engineering brains behind it. But they do have a small team
- 5:56that they're working with to get this done.
- 5:59Medicine and space engineering and space space construction.
- 6:04Think about that. This could be a way for them to
- 6:07store like a storage modules as well in space.
- 6:11So if you bring up pieces for, I don't know, a habitat in space,
- 6:17some other sort of habitat in space, or some spacecraft where
- 6:19you need, there's a bunch of small parts that you need to put
- 6:22into one spot. This could be the way to do it.
- 6:26And you could transport them from either a Starship or a
- 6:28Falcon 9 and you could transport them and store them there until
- 6:32they're needed. After you build the rest of the
- 6:35platform, until you put all these modules together.
- 6:38The thing is, you could build these modules according to them,
- 6:43kind of as big as you want to. And what's really cool about
- 6:46this is that they can build something as big as the space
- 6:51station or a little bit bigger for a fraction of the cost.
- 6:57The space station costs $100 billion to run over the time
- 7:01that it's been up in space. And they think that they can get
- 7:05it down to about $1 billion in operational cost to build this
- 7:12thing in space, fly these and put them in space.
- 7:15So if they could cut it down to a billion dollars, imagine the
- 7:18cost savings for that. And also imagine what else they
- 7:22could put into space for $100 billion, how large that space
- 7:27station would be. So they're saying a stadium size
- 7:32like a like a football or soccer field size to begin with.
- 7:36Like, that's what's what they're aiming for, Bigger than the ISS.
- 7:40They want to be bigger than the ISS and there's more room inside
- 7:42than the ISS. And also, there's no reason why
- 7:47they can't go bigger than that. They're in microgravity.
- 7:51So the gravity isn't going to be yanking down on either end of
- 7:55this thing. It's gonna float around the
- 7:58whole orbit of the Earth. I mean the possibilities are
- 8:02endless up here, you know, with these modules.
- 8:05So I just want to let you know about it because I think it's a
- 8:08really impressive idea and they have a really impressive track
- 8:12record as well. Max, especially Aaron as well
- 8:16Aaron is he's had a couple space programs, space companies in the
- 8:21past, Made in Space, which is space Manufacturing Magic, which
- 8:25is an AI assistant. He's also a former board member
- 8:28of Red Wire Space and he exited in 2021.
- 8:32He's a board member of Outpost Space in a prolific space Angel
- 8:35investor. That's what Aaron is.
- 8:37And Max is a visionary and design engineering and
- 8:40manufacturer of space deployment architecture.
- 8:43So. He built.
- 8:44The first two inflatable spacecraft and they're in orbit
- 8:46still, so that's pretty good as of right now.
- 8:51So Aaron prestigious 30 under 30 Forbes list as well.
- 8:56So business is in Aaron's blood. Let's see.
- 9:00Aaron LED Made in Space to fly dozens of successful space
- 9:04missions and over $250 million in NASA contracts.
- 9:08Aaron holds 6 patents in space related tech with four
- 9:11additional patents pending. So I may have gotten a little
- 9:14bit wrong about Aaron. I thought Aaron was an Angel
- 9:16investor to begin with here. And I know he's he's run some
- 9:18businesses in the past and he has some patents.
- 9:21So I didn't, I didn't say that at the beginning.
- 9:23So I'm like coming back full circle here to let you know
- 9:28about this. And then Red Wire Space, of
- 9:31course, working right now with Max Space.
- 9:35Wild, Wild, Wild, Wild. I hope we have cameras, hope
- 9:39there's a a Dragon capsule or something up there that can film
- 9:43this or they they pop out a little module with a with a
- 9:47camera. That would be great.
- 9:49But we'll see. We'll see what happens in the
- 9:50near future. And I hope it's successful.
