- 0:05SPEAKER_07: Okay, hello and welcome to T Bow and Sports Podcast 18 One Fan All Game Well Alabama on Saturday well no Alabama lost on Saturday night against Georgia.
- 0:24SPEAKER_07: They should have won.
- 0:26SPEAKER_07: Plenty, plenty of I'm gonna say what little bit of the game I was able to watch the last bit of the the the second quarter and then, you know, most of the most of the first most of the sec and all the second half, or all the second half, it just was they they they played good, you know, and and Georgia played good, but plenty of missed calls, plenty of things that should have been called that weren't one of the biggest things that happened at the end of the game was there was a obvious, obvious pass interference on the defense that was not called.
- 1:09SPEAKER_07: The flag was originally thrown and then it was picked up.
- 1:13SPEAKER_07: Last time I checked, when one defender is pulling the other, the wide receiver back, the other other defender with his back to the ball, to the play, his head facing the receiver, runs him over in the end zone.
- 1:32SPEAKER_07: The ball then proceeds to hit the receiver in the leg.
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: And you know, maybe the refs thought the ball was uncatchable.
- 1:38SPEAKER_07: Obviously, we we know by replay and everything else it was not, it was a catchable ball, but it was picked up.
- 1:45SPEAKER_07: I get George's the second ranked team in the NCAA and in college football, but you you need to make sure you make a call and make sure it doesn't affect the outcome.
- 1:58SPEAKER_07: But the other big thing is when Lee, number five, punched the the one of the players from Ohio from Georgia.
- 2:08SPEAKER_07: Okay, you gotta understand, young man.
- 2:10SPEAKER_07: They know the time, they know the play, they know what's going on, they know they get one first down, you're at a timeout, the game is over.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: They're gonna bait you into doing something pen something dumb to get three yards or or basically in the game.
- 2:25SPEAKER_07: At that situation, Mr.
- 2:27SPEAKER_07: Lee, you need to walk away.
- 2:30SPEAKER_07: And if he continues to do something, keep walking away, let him get the penalty, let him get in trouble, make it go back 15 yards to where they are now gonna be forced to punt where you can maybe get the ball back in good field position to to to either tie the game or win the game.
- 2:51SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play a quick interview where DeBur De Beau or Callin DeBoe was asked about what happened at the end of the game, and it it was it was one of those plays that that should have been called, and it just it was not, and it's it's it cost it cost the the it cost him the game.
- 3:19SPEAKER_07: Here's Debor asking about the non-PI called on the D Ball Rico Scottly.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: I mean, we just we can't put it we can't put the game in that situation where the officials you know come into play, and so we just gotta control the things we can control.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I got too thinking an explanation on why there was no call on there.
- 3:46SPEAKER_04: I mean Phil, I guess it was just passenger.
- 3:50SPEAKER_04: So I mean, no, you're that's all you're gonna get.
- 3:53SPEAKER_07: What were your thoughts about the the no-call on the deep ball, Rico Scottly You know, he you you can see where he he is uh obviously frustrated with uh with the non-call, but uh you can also you can also get the fact that that he didn't want to say anything to potentially get a fine from the SEC or you know have other things happen to where his where he he gets in trouble.
- 4:34SPEAKER_07: It was a it was a terrible miscall.
- 4:36SPEAKER_07: It it shouldn't have happened.
- 4:38SPEAKER_07: It's something that that like he said, in a situation like that, you can't put you know, a game like that in in the hands of the refs.
- 4:50SPEAKER_07: It it should have been called and and it wasn't, and it was it was unfortunate for for Alabama that that play wasn't called and and that that you know that the end of the penalty to give Georgia the 15 yards and pretty much end the game was was a dumb move on Lee's part.
- 5:04SPEAKER_07: And and you can see Debor in his face yelling at him, and you can read his lips saying, You cost us the game, you cost us the game.
- 5:13SPEAKER_07: And that's again, like I said earlier, that's something that young man needs to learn and understand the situation, the what's going on.
- 5:22SPEAKER_07: At that point, you just need to walk away and do something else and let him get the penalty.
- 5:30SPEAKER_07: Don't take the penalty because they're gonna beat you into that.
- 5:32SPEAKER_07: They're gonna try to win that, win that game on free yards and in and in an easy way.
- 5:37SPEAKER_07: And and that's what they were able to do.
- 5:40SPEAKER_07: So the Buffaloes were off.
- 5:42SPEAKER_07: They had a bye week.
- 5:43SPEAKER_07: They play Utah this week.
- 5:45SPEAKER_07: Wilson, Zach Wilson's little brother, little cousin, whatever he is, will be starting again for Colorado.
- 5:53SPEAKER_07: And let's see if they can actually win a conference game this year or are are they gonna go winless.
- 6:00SPEAKER_07: You know, Utah's a a very, very tough team, and and they're a very, very good team, and they they are well coached.
- 6:08SPEAKER_07: But they're they're one of those, you know, one of those things that it's you know, that that needs to happen.
- 6:17SPEAKER_07: And let's see how they do, you know.
- 6:20SPEAKER_07: Obviously, they're gonna be the underdog, and as I mentioned in the previous podcast, I I just don't think that Colorado is a is a power for school.
- 6:33SPEAKER_07: They they need to to really leave and and and establish a culture, an identity, you know, get a quarterback, get a coach, go go somewhere and and be in a smaller division and and get some recognition.
- 6:45SPEAKER_07: And if they do expand the playoffs to where one of these smaller divisions conferences can get into the playoffs and you make some noise, then maybe in a year or two you can get back into the Big 12 or or maybe a you know the Pac-12, you know, they can they can make themselves a power five and get back to the power five schools, but it it's just disappointing.
- 7:06SPEAKER_07: So Alabama, Tennessee, Alabama is nine and a half point favorites.
- 7:10SPEAKER_07: Another game, another ranked game, another game to where you another tough SCC matchup.
- 7:17SPEAKER_07: They're they're in the grid of their their season now here in Alabama, and they they need to play well.
- 7:23SPEAKER_07: They are on the road, and it's it's a tough environment going into Tennessee, and you know, it's always it's always a really, really good game, and and let's hope Alabama can can get over that tough loss and get over it, and they don't have any, you know, there's there's no ill effects it, and they're over it.
- 7:42SPEAKER_07: And I'm sure Callin De Bohr has got these kids to be ready and focused and say, hey, last week's over, this is this week.
- 7:48SPEAKER_07: You know, let's focus on Tennessee and be ready to go and get back into that win column and and and you know, forget what happened and understand that it's one of those that happens.
- 7:58SPEAKER_07: And the Buffaloes are obviously 15 and a half point underdogs against Utah.
- 8:07SPEAKER_07: They are playing, you know, they're at home, so it's gonna be, you know, a home game, and and we'll see.
- 8:14SPEAKER_07: You know, Utah, like I said, is is a tough school, and and they're they're a great football program, and and we'll see how they do.
- 8:21SPEAKER_07: The Broncos were able to beat the LA Chargers, the struggling LA Chargers that are now 0-5.
- 8:30SPEAKER_07: You know, a game to where Bo Nick struggled again in passing, where he was missing wide open receivers and automatically going to the check down, and and you know, yeah, JK Dobbins got a touchdown, and you know, he he tweeted some things, said something about after the game, yeah, I get you're playing your old team, I get it's a revenge game, but bud, you had 89 yards and one touchdown.
- 8:58SPEAKER_07: I I mean I I get the emotion, I get what happened, but to be able to beat the beat them by six and and you know, you get you get a very good, you know, first drive.
- 9:08SPEAKER_07: You know, your first drive, you go three and out, you're able to force, you know, a turnover deep in your in your territory and and you know, in the chargers territory and and and get you know a short field, the offense is able to score.
- 9:23SPEAKER_07: You know, you you allow them to get a field goal, you know, you know, in in you know, midway through the second, you get another one late in in the second quarter.
- 9:33SPEAKER_07: You're up 10-0 going into halftime.
- 9:36SPEAKER_07: You know, third quarter, it it gets tied with a with a touching, a passing touchdown, and oh boy, you know, here we go again.
- 9:46SPEAKER_07: Broncos are are oh, you know, they played good in the first half, they had they had the lead, but now they're losing.
- 9:54SPEAKER_07: And then you, you know, you know, uh, you know, about 532 left in the the second quarter.
- 10:02SPEAKER_07: Or third quarter, you're you're you know, you're down by you know it's tied up.
- 10:06SPEAKER_07: And late in the third quarter, you're down by seven.
- 10:09SPEAKER_07: You know, early on, you know, about midway through the fourth quarter, you're you know, the Broncos were able to tie it again.
- 10:16SPEAKER_07: Okay, you know, they they got they got the opportunity.
- 10:19SPEAKER_07: Now the defense needs to step up.
- 10:21SPEAKER_07: Now that defense steps up again and you know, able to get the ball back to him quickly, get another field goal for Lutz, you know, get another touchdown late in the in the fourth quarter, you know, create turnovers, get interceptions, get fumbles, you know, sack, you know, sack Herbert, you know, really put pressure on there, get that win, come out, you know, at three and two, get your first division win, get a win on the road, and and you know, you you play the short week.
- 10:51SPEAKER_07: You know, they play again again, they they play again Thursday against Seattle.
- 10:55SPEAKER_07: Seattle's coming off a tough loss in in you know, at home against against the 49ers.
- 11:03SPEAKER_07: Another big thing that happened in that game between the Buffalo, between, you know, the the 49ers and and you know the the the Seahawks, where you have Greenlaw attacks Seattle player on the sideline, and again, you know, you hit the hit the guy out of bounds and you hit the quarterback, you know, they're you know, the players on their sidelines are gonna defend their quarterback.
- 11:39SPEAKER_07: You know, one says something to to Greenlaw, he headbuts him, the guy he headbutted had no helmet on.
- 11:45SPEAKER_07: This call, this, this ejection came from the replay people in New York.
- 11:51SPEAKER_07: They saw the thing, they they stopped the game, they said no, he's ejected, he suspended one game.
- 11:56SPEAKER_07: He needs to be you know, he was fined the week before because he cursed and was disrespectful to a head coach of a of the opposing team with with you know Sean Payton, and now he does this.
- 12:13SPEAKER_07: It should be at least two games.
- 12:15SPEAKER_07: Greenlaw, you're you know, you're you're you're a dirty player.
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: And I have no respect for you.
- 12:20SPEAKER_07: And for you to sit there and and declaim, you know, I I know it's hard for me to get on the field because uh, you know, I was injured when I was in Denver and and and and they were just No, you you you were you cried and whined and and couldn't handle the pressure of actually having to practice physically and and practice hard.
- 12:38SPEAKER_07: And you went back to San Francisco where you know you can sit on your butt and do nothing.
- 12:43SPEAKER_07: Grow up, bud, and and learn that the NFL is about playing professional sports.
- 12:47SPEAKER_07: It's it's a it's a s it's a it's a job, but you know, you want an easy job where you can kick up and do nothing.
- 12:53SPEAKER_07: And but we'll see.
- 12:54SPEAKER_07: You know, the th this game between the Broncos and Seattle is gonna be it's gonna be good.
- 13:00SPEAKER_07: It's gonna be It's gonna be close.
- 13:03SPEAKER_07: You know, the Broncos, you know, the you know the Seahawks are two and a half point underdogs, so you know they are coming into Denver.
- 13:11SPEAKER_07: They both will be wearing their throwbacks 1977 ones are.
- 13:15SPEAKER_07: They are badass.
- 13:16SPEAKER_07: The the original D and the orange and the blue, and and it's just gonna be a cool thing.
- 13:22SPEAKER_07: And Seattle's old uniforms from the 70s, when they were both in the AFC West, yes, folks, the Broncos and Seahawks were both in the same division for a while.
- 13:33SPEAKER_07: The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL to play in the AFC Championship game and the NFC Championship game.
- 13:43SPEAKER_07: But every Super Bowl they've been to, they were in it was when they were in the NFC.
- 13:48SPEAKER_07: They have two Super Bowl wins.
- 13:52SPEAKER_07: They're a team that that is that isn't, you know, a pushover.
- 13:57SPEAKER_07: This is going to be a very tough game.
- 13:59SPEAKER_07: It's a quick turnaround for both teams.
- 14:01SPEAKER_07: Then you have a mini buy, you have 10 days off, 11 days off, then you both play, you know, another team, but you, you know, the and the fan part of me, I love Thursday night football.
- 14:12SPEAKER_07: I think that's awesome.
- 14:13SPEAKER_07: You know, but the the media person in me going to media school and going, you know what, it's not worth the players' risk of of getting hurt.
- 14:28SPEAKER_07: And and the players, you know, whatever it is, they're they're a good team.
- 14:35SPEAKER_07: And you know, they they are, you know, they are, you know, they're good.
- 14:41SPEAKER_07: But it it's one of those, how do we, you know, how do we fix this?
- 14:47SPEAKER_07: You know, and I get the money's there, and I get all all this is there, and I get, you know, everything is there, and I get I get what's going on, but there's also an opportunity to where player safety has to come into effect.
- 15:02SPEAKER_07: I I know that's one of their big things that they're they're trying to emphasize in the NFL.
- 15:06SPEAKER_07: But you get two teams every week to turn around quick and have four days before the next game.
- 15:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah, great.
- 15:14SPEAKER_07: They have 10 days off, 11 days off after, but it's we gotta figure out a better situation.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: I know you can't play on Friday nights because of high school football and some college football.
- 15:24SPEAKER_07: I get you can't play on Saturday afternoons or Saturday nights because of college football.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: I think that's a great rule and a great law that that is in effect and where, you know, college gets their own day, high school gets their own day.
- 15:36SPEAKER_07: You know, the NFL kind of has Sunday and Monday, and, you know, I guess Thursday, but there there needs to be something figured out.
- 15:43SPEAKER_07: The Colorado Avalanche played last night in Dallas.
- 15:47SPEAKER_07: They do play again tonight.
- 15:48SPEAKER_07: A home and home versus the Dallas Stars.
- 15:51SPEAKER_07: Kale McCarr was not at the game because he was back here in Denver with his wife um having twins.
- 15:59SPEAKER_07: So congratulations to Kale and the new members of his family, and and hopefully he'll be back tonight.
- 16:06SPEAKER_07: But they the Avalanche won three to two.
- 16:09SPEAKER_07: And, you know, this is this is one of those games to where this is a division game.
- 16:15SPEAKER_07: This is a four-point swing.
- 16:17SPEAKER_07: There's literally eight points on the line in these two games.
- 16:20SPEAKER_07: You know, the avalanche are ready to go, and and you know, let's really, really hope that they can, you know, they can take that momentum and come home.
- 16:28SPEAKER_07: But, you know, they're both on a back-to-back.
- 16:30SPEAKER_07: That's tough.
- 16:32SPEAKER_07: But, you know, the flight and and and the time and everything isn't as bad.
- 16:38SPEAKER_07: You know, Lannon's, you know, Lekinen got the first goal, Shirjijin got the first goal for Dallas, Natchez got the second goal for the Avalanche, Natus got the third goal for the Avalanche.
- 16:50SPEAKER_07: That was the that was the you know the the last one, and then Hertz hints was able to get the goal for Dallas at the end.
- 16:58SPEAKER_07: And, you know, to beat the stars is is always a good thing, you know, to beat the division and and you know, back to back is is gonna be hard.
- 17:06SPEAKER_07: You know, they play tonight here in Denver, but you know, we'll we'll see if you know the Avalanche can can win.
- 17:13SPEAKER_07: There's only one other game tonight, the Capitals and Canadians, and you know, we'll see.
- 17:20SPEAKER_07: You know, the Azar did lose to the Maple Leaves a couple nights ago, and then a lot of people are thinking, is this is that gonna be a Stanley Cup Finals matchup between the Avalanche and and Maple Leaves?
- 17:32SPEAKER_07: We'll we'll see.
- 17:33SPEAKER_07: But you know, let's let's see how the Broncos do.
- 17:36SPEAKER_07: Let's let's see, you know, what they can do against Seattle.
- 17:40SPEAKER_07: You know, let's see what the Bron the Buffs can do against Utah, and let's see what the at the Alabama can do against, you know.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: You know, whatever, you know, against Tennessee.
- 17:59SPEAKER_07: You know, we'll play a couple quick press conferences here, you know, Bonex talking about playing Seattle in a short week, then we'll do do, you know, Sean Payton and what he thinks could happen.
- 18:10SPEAKER_07: And and so without further ado, Bo Nicks talking about week six against the Chargers.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: So what in this league?
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: Do you ever get caught up in the way in which you play the game?
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: Or is the only thing in Port I forgive us?
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: I heard long ago, I don't know where it may have been from my parents, but if you stop or if you stop enjoying the wins, you need to just go on and do something else because then it's not gonna be fun for you anymore.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: So and and in a way I've felt that a little bit, and we're sitting here at three and two, and we're having you know, a good start to our season.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: There's things we want to clean up, there's things we want to fix, there's ways, you know, in which that we're leaking leaving some things out there on the field, but we're finding ways to win like we did last year.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I feel strong that we're gonna continue to do that.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: So the most important thing is winning.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it can't be the end-all be-all.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: You can't put your whole entire joy in it because you know it just won't sustain you.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, we're gonna find ways to get better and find ways to win.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: I've dealt I've dealt with a whole lot of coaches over a whole lot of years and you're a coach of kids talking about joy in wins.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: I've seen a lot of coaches that just heard you say, hate losing more than you love winning.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: So how did your has your dad dealt with that aspect of being in the business?
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: Are you better at that now or were you always been good at having the wins as well?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: I haven't handled losing well in in my entire life.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I wasn't a great loser growing up.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: I probably didn't handle it the right way all the time.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I was that kid that cried after I lost, and you know, I'd throw my helmet.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: And one time I didn't think my dad was at the game.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: He was out recruiting and he showed up and he saw me throw my helmet one time, and that was the last time I threw my helmet.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: But he taught me wins and losses, and and obviously as he being my coach went went through a lot.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: We lost a bunch together and we won a bunch together.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: So I saw how he faced it, and he would probably tell you he didn't handle all the losses right.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: But I felt like ultimately I had a good perspective on winning and losing.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I do probably put too much into it, and I have to remind myself that that's that's not what it's about.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: You know, it's it's you could have a great game and lose.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: And what?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna walk around being, you know, okay with how I played, but you know, we still lost, and that's the ultimate goals.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Or am I gonna play bad and then we we win and I'm gonna be, you know, an annoying teammate and walk around with my head down?
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: I I don't think that's right either.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: So there's just a level that you have to stay, and it's not easy.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: It's it's really not, it's it's tough.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: It's you know, it's a mental battle, and that's kind of where I've I find myself, you know, sometimes in in a season like this where it's not as good as you want it to look, but you're winning and you're playing tough teams and you've gotten close against a few more tough teams, uh and you know you there's gonna be tough teams down the road.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: So it's all about taking it one game at a time and uh at the end of the day, just finding ways to win and then learning from your losses.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: What are some things right now that that you want to work on your boss?
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: I think just making it simple, making things, you know, one, two, three, and let's play fast and let's and let's roll for I think sometimes I can have a tendency of overanalyzing and and overthinking things, and that's when I'm not at my best.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: And you know, I want to have all the answers and get everything right for and it's just it's too difficult.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Eleven guys moving on defense is it's tough to always figure it out.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: But I do think I can make the game simpler and just get back to, you know, one, two, check down, that sort of thing, uh, and making sure my reads are on point.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: Along those lines, Paul, you seem to draw.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: From other former quarterbacks, quarterback experts on social media, how you should play the game, what you should see, where you should throw the ball.
- 22:11SPEAKER_05: They tell you what you don't do, what you should do.
- 22:14SPEAKER_05: What what what do you think about all that?
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: You have to hear some of that noise.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: To be honest, I I really don't.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: I I couldn't tell you one that has said anything, but I do I just know that, you know, their it's their job, it's their opinion.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: That that's what they get paid to do, just like I get paid to do this.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, I'm really only focused about, you know, what Davis and Logan are teaching me, how coach is calling the plays, how I can improve, and how I can make coach's job easy on a Sunday when he calls plays.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm worried about.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I guess sometimes, you know, they can they can say whatever they want.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: And you know, unfortunately, I can't say whatever I want back.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: But that's just part, you know, nature of the beast, part of it, and then part of this gig.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: A lot of talk this week about finding the balance between you know, taking risks, taking care of the football, you know, striking that balance specifically this week against a team like a seamless that means the NFL and takeaways.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: What's that conversation like about you and Charlie getting out of the same peach battle?
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Well, that's the biggest, that's the honestly, really and truly, the biggest battle right now is like we want to be aggressive, want to be aggressive, want to be aggressive.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: And then you see stats and you're like, well, this team is causing the most turnovers in the league.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: And then you're like, okay, well, I can't put my team in a situation where I'm turning the football over and putting our defense in a bad spot, giving them a short field.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: And at the end of the day, it's like, who cares?
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: You know, like why would I go out there worried about throwing an interception?
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: Why would I go out there trying to throw every football 50 yards down the field?
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: Take it down, run, throw it away, punt.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Who cares?
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: That's the play that I was dealt, and I have to do just remind myself not to play hero ball.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: It's just one play at a time.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Do exactly what I'm supposed to do.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: And who cares?
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: If if the play causes me to throw an interception and I forced it and that was there, and I I liked what I saw, it may happen.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: You know, it's gonna happen.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: It's happened before, it may happen again.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: If it's not there, I'm not gonna throw it into a team meeting.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna check the ball down and we're gonna move on.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: And that that's just the play that's that's given to me, and I have to continue just to do that.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Oh, you talk from time to time about there's certain games that are the reason why you play this game.
- 24:23SPEAKER_04: And you get the defending champs in prime time at home.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Does that feel like one of those moments for you?
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: There'll be some extra juice on both sides, and I think this is why you play the game.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: This is why you want to be an NFL quarterback, and this is one of the best parts about my job is leading this team against really fun defenses that we play, really good other competitive teams.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: And like coach always says, this, you know, this is a really important game.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: This is the most important right now on our schedule, but we'll play him bigger just because we want to go to, you know, higher heights.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: And so right now all we can do is take care of this one and play as hard as we can in it.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: Last one, Parker Gabriel, you you've had stretches from your playground sure you've had stretches.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: When you're in a stretch where you're not playing the way you want to, how have you sort of gotten yourself to the point where you say, I'm just gonna let it go?
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Like, what does your process look like to try to arrive at a point where you can Well, it's the same as if when I'm when I'm playing really good.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: I think playing good, playing bad, it's all you know, it's a narrative, and I think it's honestly kind of something we we make up.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I don't think, you know, necessarily I'm playing any different than what I'm normally playing.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: It's just every once in a while a ball bounce this way or something'll happen this way, and we'll get a pressure on this look when we had somebody open.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: I had to throw it away, and I wanted to hold on a little bit longer, and the guy was open, and next thing you know, the stat line looks different.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: We're talking about something completely different.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So I'm confident in my preparation, I'm confident in my coaching, and I'm confident in our offense and the way we're gonna structure the game and call plays, and I know we're gonna have things there, and it's just playing each play as it comes, and when it's there, hit it and not getting mentally exhausted and be able to play all four quarters or however long it takes in the game to get the win and just play the play as it needs to be played.
- 26:07SPEAKER_07: You know, obviously you you can tell he he was asked about his poor performance lately and and how almost every week every media outlet, especially here here in Colorado and and and and the Denver area specifically, are just on him.
- 26:23SPEAKER_07: Oh, you know.
- 26:29SPEAKER_07: He is struggling, and and we get that, but you know, he can't say things he he's gotta be able to play better and and and know that you know he's gonna get you know criticized by the media.
- 26:39SPEAKER_07: And when you play bad, you deserve the criticism.
- 26:41SPEAKER_07: When you play great, you you don't deserve criticism, you you deserve praise.
- 26:45SPEAKER_07: But it it's a tough game, and and and you're playing the defending Super World champs, and they're coming off a loss, you're coming off a win, so it's it's gonna be a very good game on Thursday night.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Let's see what Sean Payton has to say about playing Seattle.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: So obviously a different schedule this week.
- 27:14SPEAKER_06: Today's our first day.
- 27:15SPEAKER_06: We have two days really of work.
- 27:18SPEAKER_06: Any questions?
- 27:19SPEAKER_06: As you as you get into the planning here of like offensive, what is the sort of the first thing if you want to see better than I think look, we've covered it, you know, the the the balance, the attention to details, you know, all those things.
- 27:32SPEAKER_06: Uh we're playing a real good defense.
- 27:34SPEAKER_06: Um you know, we've got to get ready for what they do defensively and yeah, in a short time frame.
- 27:42SPEAKER_05: Sure, we don't know.
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: What are some of the things you have to do to compact things?
- 27:46SPEAKER_06: How do you compact and I'll shall we look I I you know a lot of times you get to stuff that you practiced a lot that applies to the opponent you're playing, and you know, a lot of it's walk-through repetitions.
- 27:59SPEAKER_06: I think all the teams know a little bit more now compared to 20 years ago or 15 years ago how to handle a a shorter week.
- 28:09SPEAKER_06: And unfortunately we're playing it at home.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: Where of?
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: Where do you see defensively?
- 28:13SPEAKER_04: Where where's it start for that in terms of what they do well?
- 28:17SPEAKER_06: Well, the the they're complete in in all three areas in in every statistical uh mark you look at.
- 28:25SPEAKER_06: They've got a real good front.
- 28:26SPEAKER_06: They're fantastic in their coverage fits.
- 28:30SPEAKER_06: They defend the run well when they're uh you know in their seven and a half man fronts, you know, very well.
- 28:37SPEAKER_06: You don't see plays get on top of them.
- 28:40SPEAKER_06: They've got a real good pressure package, and you know, Mike's done a a real good job in a in a really a short period of time putting together, you know, a a super talented defense.
- 28:53SPEAKER_07: You know, you you can tell.
- 28:55SPEAKER_07: Fairly long interview, and I'll I'll I'll do the full thing tomorrow when I do another podcast here on Thursday night of a little pregame podcast before the Broncos play.
- 29:06SPEAKER_07: But, you know, he he's right.
- 29:08SPEAKER_07: Seattle's a whole different ballgame.
- 29:09SPEAKER_07: You know, they they have a very good defense.
- 29:11SPEAKER_07: They're not gonna allow you to get a lot of run yards.
- 29:14SPEAKER_07: They're not gonna let you go deep over the top of them.
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: They're they're gonna play their style.
- 29:18SPEAKER_07: Yes, they they are in charge of, you know, they do have the most turnovers in the league.
- 29:25SPEAKER_07: And that's something that Seattle has always been good at, and that's something they're always gonna be good at, and and the Broncos need to do and it's there.
- 29:46SPEAKER_07: It's it's one of those things that that needs to play, you know, you need to play your game.
- 29:52SPEAKER_07: And, you know, again, they're they're gonna do things to to try to pressure you and and the offensive line really needs to step up tomorrow and and play.
- 30:00SPEAKER_07: But we'll see.
- 30:01SPEAKER_07: Let's let's see how the things go.
- 30:03SPEAKER_07: And and like I said, tomorrow I'll do another podcast here about the game tonight against the Avalanche.
- 30:09SPEAKER_07: The Nuggets play here coming up soon.
- 30:11SPEAKER_07: They're they're starting their regular season.
- 30:14SPEAKER_07: And then we'll talk, do a little pregame talk about the Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.
- 30:20SPEAKER_07: So thank you for listening to T Bone Sports One Fan All Game Podcast 18.
- 30:27SPEAKER_07: And as always, Go Buffs, Roll Tide, Go Broncos, let's go abs, and let's go nuggets.
