- 0:34SPEAKER_14: That's us.
- 0:35SPEAKER_14: Whoops, I sharded.
- 0:38SPEAKER_14: Well, I haven't yet, but like the.
- 0:40SPEAKER_11: The night is young.
- 0:41SPEAKER_14: That's right.
- 0:42SPEAKER_14: It's true.
- 0:43SPEAKER_14: The night.
- 0:44SPEAKER_11: The night.
- 0:45SPEAKER_14: Hey, um, you know, I I I'm really excited about everything that's going on.
- 0:50SPEAKER_14: We the but uh today.
- 0:53SPEAKER_14: Today we're going to discuss, or we're gonna we're gonna have what I what I actually this is the music that I played when I first started in radio when I was 13 years old.
- 1:05SPEAKER_14: And I don't know if you want to call it traditional country, but I'm so glad that you said it I'm like why didn't I call it that before?
- 1:16SPEAKER_11: Me too! We don't do a lot about country and I don't know why, because we both like this type of country.
- 1:23SPEAKER_14: We do.
- 1:24SPEAKER_11: I think maybe it's just because we live in such a country saturated like town.
- 1:28SPEAKER_11: Probably that you hear it so much.
- 1:30SPEAKER_11: I usually just want to play something else.
- 1:32SPEAKER_11: But uh no, today we're facing it uh head on.
- 1:34SPEAKER_14: Well, it truly got me in the mood when we had Megan on and we did a Dolly part, and that was so much fun.
- 1:39SPEAKER_14: I just, you know, and I I I adore Dolly, but um and Megan was a sweetheart, so I think it was I think it got it put me in the mood.
- 1:49SPEAKER_11: We need to do more countries.
- 1:50SPEAKER_14: Boot scootin' mood.
- 1:52SPEAKER_11: Boot scootin'.
- 1:53SPEAKER_14: A little two-stepping.
- 1:54SPEAKER_11: But for me it's folksy, like grab your guitar, get everybody around the campfire.
- 1:58SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 2:00SPEAKER_14: My my first wife, her her dad played with Glenn Campbell at the hitching post in Albuquerque when Glenn was first starting out.
- 2:07SPEAKER_14: And uh, you know, he used to sit and we'd all we'd all sing, and you know, he did all he did all the country classics.
- 2:14SPEAKER_14: I mean, just about all of them.
- 2:15SPEAKER_14: And it was just enjoyable to sit and sing a tune.
- 2:19SPEAKER_14: Family get together, we just sit around and play guitar and and sing.
- 2:23SPEAKER_14: Absolutely.
- 2:24SPEAKER_14: And not carry a tune in a bucket.
- 2:27SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I would get the funniest looks from from both him and his and my my mother-in-law at the time.
- 2:33SPEAKER_14: Like, uh Robert, they call me Robert.
- 2:35SPEAKER_14: Oh Robert.
- 2:36SPEAKER_14: You you you know you can't sing.
- 2:38SPEAKER_14: They never said that.
- 2:39SPEAKER_14: They were being nice.
- 2:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, bless bless your heart, Robert.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 2:45SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
- 2:45SPEAKER_14: Bless your heart.
- 2:46SPEAKER_11: Bless your heart.
- 2:48SPEAKER_11: That's kind of the beauty of it, too, like, especially folk music for me.
- 2:51SPEAKER_11: It doesn't really matter if you are a good singer.
- 2:52SPEAKER_11: I mean, it helps, but it's mostly about the community behind it.
- 2:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:56SPEAKER_11: And so some of the songs I picked are songs that you know, some people don't even know the original writer of them because they've just been passed down and passed down.
- 3:04SPEAKER_14: Oh, that's just a solid point.
- 3:05SPEAKER_14: Solid point.
- 3:06SPEAKER_14: Well, I have we have a phone call.
- 3:08SPEAKER_14: We'll play that after the song.
- 3:09SPEAKER_14: Let's play a song and then I'll come out and I'll preface the phone call.
- 3:13SPEAKER_11: This song, okay, so this show is titled The Country Roads, and this song is exactly why it's titled that because it's been stuck in my head all.
- 3:21SPEAKER_14: Oh, fantastic.
- 3:22SPEAKER_14: I can't wait.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountain, life is older, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: Country roads, take me home to the place I like to get your mama Take me home Country Road Mama and Greek and Lady Strange to Blue.
- 6:22SPEAKER_14: Country Road.
- 6:25SPEAKER_14: You know, that's a great tune that uh and John Denver is so I don't know, just so Americano.
- 6:33SPEAKER_11: Americana, yeah.
- 6:34SPEAKER_14: You were saying about West Virginia.
- 6:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_11: It talks about West Virginia, but what he means is the western part of Virginia.
- 6:42SPEAKER_14: Of Virginia, not West Virginia.
- 6:45SPEAKER_14: The Western part of Virginia.
- 6:48SPEAKER_11: There are two separate states.
- 6:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah, kinda kinda confusing.
- 6:51SPEAKER_14: Well, listen, we're starting to get some feedback through our phone.
- 6:55SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_11: I haven't heard this video.
- 6:57SPEAKER_14: And this attracted somebody who I who I know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_14: Um but I don't know, you might not like the phone call.
- 7:05SPEAKER_11: Friend or phone?
- 7:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah, he's a friend.
- 7:07SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 7:07SPEAKER_14: You know, he may not be your friend after the phone call.
- 7:09SPEAKER_11: Because the the last phone call I thought was a friend being sarcastic.
- 7:13SPEAKER_11: And then you were like, no, he was really mad.
- 7:15SPEAKER_11: So we'll see.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: We'll see.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Next method.
- 7:26SPEAKER_13: General George of the Jungle Dragon B walking out from the tree.
- 7:47SPEAKER_13: You know you call your feelings a wake-up call, but you know, you really need to wake up in your world.
- 8:01SPEAKER_13: I mean for whatever reason.
- 8:16SPEAKER_13: I heard the ring for Timmy.
- 8:32SPEAKER_13: And he's just wandering the street, you know, you know, running from cardboard box to cardboard box.
- 8:38SPEAKER_13: So really, I think it's time that you step up and you, you know, really.
- 8:43SPEAKER_13: I mean, we love Rand, but I think you need to suspend Rand until she admits the error of jumping her loyal friend Stimpy in the street and bring him back.
- 8:56SPEAKER_13: It has to be Rand and Stimpy.
- 8:59SPEAKER_13: Otherwise, great show, wonderful show.
- 9:01SPEAKER_13: We'll keep listening and have a wonderful day.
- 9:04SPEAKER_13: Thanks a lot, General.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: End of message.
- 9:06SPEAKER_11: You know, this is a rumor that's been following me for years.
- 9:11SPEAKER_11: Everywhere I go, the paparazzi hound me about abandoning my best friend.
- 9:16SPEAKER_11: I didn't.
- 9:17SPEAKER_11: He lives in my house, rank free.
- 9:20SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 9:20SPEAKER_11: I wonder I wonder if he's the one spreading this rumor.
- 9:24SPEAKER_11: No, Stimpy's fine.
- 9:25SPEAKER_11: He's at home, he's chilling.
- 9:26SPEAKER_14: Okay, so I don't have to suspend you then.
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: You don't.
- 9:29SPEAKER_11: I promised George of the Jungle.
- 9:32SPEAKER_11: That was hilarious.
- 9:34SPEAKER_14: Oh my god.
- 9:34SPEAKER_14: Well, obviously he's an avid listener, and uh I I don't know.
- 9:38SPEAKER_14: I told him uh I called him.
- 9:40SPEAKER_14: And there's a long story, history between George and I, which I won't go into right now, but um I called him, I said, Man, you're welcome to call in any time.
- 9:47SPEAKER_14: Just come, let's call in any time.
- 9:50SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 9:51SPEAKER_11: That that little di that little thought that he went on with it was hilarious.
- 9:55SPEAKER_11: So well done.
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: Reminded me of of myself, really.
- 9:59SPEAKER_14: He's kind of, yes, yeah, mentally you guys could you guys are pretty close to the same.
- 10:05SPEAKER_11: Well d but uh a radio show might be difficult because we would just ramble on forever.
- 10:09SPEAKER_11: Yes, right, and we would come up with a bit and never end.
- 10:11SPEAKER_14: Yeah, and that's what I told him too.
- 10:13SPEAKER_14: I said, George, listen, I love you, man, but if I'm gonna use this, we've got to keep it down to at least a minute.
- 10:18SPEAKER_14: Can there any way you can keep it?
- 10:20SPEAKER_14: Because I think it's about three minutes long.
- 10:22SPEAKER_11: It's about it's a minute and 45 seconds.
- 10:24SPEAKER_11: There you go.
- 10:25SPEAKER_11: So it was a little up there.
- 10:27SPEAKER_11: And I should say, I mean, I don't have Stimpy with me, but I have what do we call you?
- 10:31SPEAKER_11: Stumpy?
- 10:32SPEAKER_14: Stumpy.
- 10:33SPEAKER_11: It's Ran Dumpy.
- 10:34SPEAKER_11: Dumpy, Ran and Dumpy.
- 10:36SPEAKER_14: Will that be all right?
- 10:36SPEAKER_14: Is that all right, George?
- 10:37SPEAKER_14: Yeah, let us know.
- 10:38SPEAKER_14: George of the jungle.
- 10:39SPEAKER_14: Watch out for the tree, George, damn it.
- 10:42SPEAKER_14: Okay, so all right.
- 10:44SPEAKER_14: We're doing country today.
- 10:46SPEAKER_11: Um, yeah.
- 10:48SPEAKER_14: The old style country, the country that I that I uh that I grew up on.
- 10:52SPEAKER_14: And you know, I wasn't a country fan until I went to work at a country station.
- 10:57SPEAKER_14: Uh and then when I did that, it was like I don't know, I fell in love.
- 11:02SPEAKER_14: Absolutely uh with all of that, with all that music.
- 11:05SPEAKER_14: Um, you know, I was an old rock and roll kind of guy.
- 11:08SPEAKER_14: I mean, heavy-duty uh rock and roll, although I was a major Cream's Clearwater revival fan, and when I was in school, people were like, that's not rock and roll.
- 11:19SPEAKER_14: But to me it's Swamp Rock.
- 11:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_14: Is that what they call it?
- 11:23SPEAKER_14: It could be.
- 11:24SPEAKER_14: They're from Louisiana, so yeah, Swamp Rock would be good.
- 11:27SPEAKER_11: To me, CCR is very much rock and roll, just like with a country twin.
- 11:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I agree.
- 11:32SPEAKER_11: Though this next song I'm gonna play is very much just folksy country.
- 11:35SPEAKER_11: It's early Bob Dylan.
- 11:36SPEAKER_14: Oh really Bob Dylan?
- 11:38SPEAKER_11: Song to Woody Guthrie.
- 11:40SPEAKER_11: So his little ode to probably one of the greatest folk folk artists of all time.
- 11:44SPEAKER_11: You know, Woody Guthrie came up with this.
- 11:46SPEAKER_11: Absolutely.
- 11:46SPEAKER_11: This land is your land.
- 11:48SPEAKER_14: This land is mine.
- 11:49SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 11:50SPEAKER_11: This is why I didn't fit in with other teenagers, because this was my favorite stuff when I was a kid.
- 12:00SPEAKER_19: I'm out here a thousand miles from my home.
- 12:07SPEAKER_19: Walking a road, other men have gone down.
- 12:13SPEAKER_19: I'm seeing your world of people and things here, poppers and peasants and princes and kings.
- 12:30SPEAKER_19: Hey hey, what you got three hours?
- 12:38SPEAKER_19: That's a coming along Seams again, it's hard, it's time, it's time.
- 12:55SPEAKER_19: It's hardly been born.
- 12:59SPEAKER_19: Hey, what do you got for me, but I know that you know all the things that I'ma say in a many times more I'ma singing the song, but I can't sing enough.
- 13:23SPEAKER_19: Many men and the things that you've done.
- 13:28SPEAKER_19: Here's the Cisco and Sonny and Led Melly too.
- 13:36SPEAKER_19: And all the good people that traveled with you.
- 13:42SPEAKER_19: Here's to you, the hearts and the hands of the man.
- 13:49SPEAKER_19: That comes with the dust and I come with the wind.
- 13:58SPEAKER_19: I'ma leaving tomorrow, but I could leave today.
- 14:05SPEAKER_19: Somewhere down the road someday.
- 14:12SPEAKER_19: The very last thing that I'd want to do.
- 14:18SPEAKER_19: He's just say I've been hitting some hard traveling too.
- 14:30SPEAKER_14: You know, it's funny when when you ask oh, the microphone's squeaking I but it wasn't back, it was on squeaked on the table, the stand squeaked on the table.
- 14:38SPEAKER_14: It's funny when you ask me about this, because you know, I immediately think of uh uh, like I told you, George Jones and uh Conway Twitty.
- 14:48SPEAKER_14: And you know, it's you you go towards more of the folky western country kind of stuff, and which is which I adore.
- 14:58SPEAKER_14: Um but I don't my mind doesn't go that way.
- 15:00SPEAKER_14: Because that typically that song wasn't played a lot if ever on the radio much.
- 15:05SPEAKER_11: It probably was not.
- 15:06SPEAKER_11: Like I said, uh when I got into Bob Dylan was honestly when I kind of first really started to appreciate country because I just loved the um the honesty of it.
- 15:15SPEAKER_09: Sure.
- 15:15SPEAKER_11: And uh I liked that he was clearly telling a story.
- 15:18SPEAKER_11: That song always too, I never imagined it got radio airplane because it's like a love letter to some guy people barely knew, but at the time maybe.
- 15:26SPEAKER_11: But uh I just love the honesty of it.
- 16:09SPEAKER_14: Well, it's the type that you sit around a campfire and sing together.
- 16:14SPEAKER_11: It's the stuff I I hum to myself when I'm doing yard work.
- 16:17SPEAKER_14: Is it really?
- 16:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, or when I'm sad.
- 16:19SPEAKER_11: You know, soothe the soul.
- 16:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I liked it.
- 16:23SPEAKER_14: All right, well, what else we got?
- 16:24SPEAKER_14: Or what what else you got going?
- 16:25SPEAKER_14: I have I covered, I mean, we got a bake off coming up uh from Encore Coffee.
- 16:29SPEAKER_14: I'm not too sure when that's gonna hit yet, but we'll have more information on that.
- 16:34SPEAKER_14: We have our own phone number that you can call and leave nasty messages on if you'd like.
- 16:39SPEAKER_14: We would definitely love uh to hear from you.
- 16:42SPEAKER_14: Let me see if I can I I don't I can't even remember the phone number.
- 16:45SPEAKER_14: It is 505-512-3179.
- 16:49SPEAKER_14: 505-512-3179.
- 16:51SPEAKER_14: Or you're always welcome to drop us an email.
- 16:53SPEAKER_14: We haven't gotten any email in a while.
- 16:55SPEAKER_14: The generalswakeup call at gmail.com.
- 16:58SPEAKER_14: All one word all over the case.
- 17:00SPEAKER_14: And Ren is giving you permission to pick on her if you want to.
- 17:04SPEAKER_11: You can pick on me.
- 17:05SPEAKER_11: I might, and you know what?
- 17:07SPEAKER_11: I might cry on air.
- 17:08SPEAKER_11: It might be hilarious.
- 17:10SPEAKER_11: So try it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_11: Please don't be too mean.
- 17:13SPEAKER_14: Yeah, oh my god, I will kick somebody's ass if they make you cry on air.
- 17:18SPEAKER_11: We just won't play those.
- 17:19SPEAKER_11: We'll pretend those don't exist.
- 17:20SPEAKER_14: Um we're gonna we we uh we gave the results last week, I think, of the salsa office.
- 17:25SPEAKER_14: We just you know, there's all kinds of great things that we got going on that uh we want to make sure that you just stay listening and uh find out maybe you could win something.
- 17:36SPEAKER_14: Absolutely.
- 17:37SPEAKER_14: Thanks, Rin.
- 17:39SPEAKER_14: I don't have any grandkids quite your age yet.
- 17:42SPEAKER_14: My oldest is thirteen.
- 17:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, so teenager.
- 17:45SPEAKER_11: Are they a smart alec yet?
- 17:47SPEAKER_14: Um well his mom says yes, so I imagine so, which is fine.
- 17:54SPEAKER_14: Yeah, no, he doesn't talk, and I talked to his sister yesterday because I was trying to find something for her uh for her birthday and that kind of stuff.
- 18:03SPEAKER_14: So she's into those books.
- 18:04SPEAKER_14: Um I I can't remember um it's a it's a series, and I can't remember what she called it.
- 18:11SPEAKER_14: Now I've got it written down at home.
- 18:12SPEAKER_14: I wish I could remember because you're probably familiar with it.
- 18:14SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I'm like waiting on pins and I'll text it to you later because I'm having a hard time finding she has the last five, she needs the first five.
- 18:22SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 18:22SPEAKER_11: So um And you know I I work with teenagers all day, so I'm always weirdly interested in whatever new series they're doing.
- 18:29SPEAKER_11: I probably won't read it, but I would probably have heard of it.
- 18:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah, well, she's only nine or ten, so but she told me on the phone, she goes, I like a lot of the same books Keegan does, her brother, who is uh 13.
- 18:40SPEAKER_14: So we'll do something from it.
- 18:41SPEAKER_11: So she's a little ahead of her time.
- 18:42SPEAKER_11: She is she's got that high reading comprehension.
- 18:45SPEAKER_14: That's right.
- 18:45SPEAKER_14: Well, she's trying to keep up with Keegan for sure.
- 18:47SPEAKER_11: So it wouldn't happen to be Five Nights at Freddy's, would it be a few years?
- 18:51SPEAKER_14: No, no.
- 18:52SPEAKER_14: It's something I yeah, I don't I wish I could remember.
- 18:55SPEAKER_14: I can't remember right.
- 18:56SPEAKER_11: That's the one kids always like whatever.
- 18:58SPEAKER_14: Five Nights at Freddy's?
- 18:59SPEAKER_11: It's like a horror series, it's about haunted uh uh animatronics at like a pizza parlor.
- 19:05SPEAKER_14: I think I, you know, I might just do that for her, just you know, off the wall kind of stuff.
- 19:09SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's grandpa's weird, they know he is, they own it, they're fine with it.
- 19:13SPEAKER_11: Thanks for the uh nightmares from the I got some more of your vibe.
- 19:20SPEAKER_11: I got some Conway Twitty.
- 19:21SPEAKER_14: Oh, I love me some hello, darling.
- 19:24SPEAKER_11: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Mr.
- 19:26SPEAKER_11: Conway Twitty.
- 19:37SPEAKER_07: She tried to hide it by the faded denim clothes she wore, but I knew she'd never been inside a bar before.
- 19:47SPEAKER_07: I felt like a peasant who just had met a queen, and she knew I saw right through her type biting team.
- 20:00SPEAKER_07: I asked her what's a moment like you doing here.
- 20:05SPEAKER_07: I still used a champagne, but I'll buy you a beer.
- 20:11SPEAKER_07: She said you got me figured out, but I'm not what I seem.
- 20:16SPEAKER_07: All the pants, I'll tell you about these type of thing.
- 20:21SPEAKER_07: She's that I've ever I'm used to wearing pearls, but I've always been the pin.
- 20:28SPEAKER_07: Just a little boy as a girl.
- 20:38SPEAKER_07: There's a tiger in the We danced and ever danced and lord the beer that we went through.
- 20:58SPEAKER_07: I'm satisfied, I did my best to make her dream come true.
- 21:03SPEAKER_07: And she fled out her fantasy before my eyes it stained.
- 21:09SPEAKER_07: Cow girl came alive inside those I couldn't team.
- 21:22SPEAKER_07: I've been broke by the time we parted way.
- 21:27SPEAKER_07: I know I held more woman than most eyes I've ever seen.
- 21:35SPEAKER_07: I didn't think Well now she's back in her world, and I'm still stuck in mad, but I know I'll always remember the past.
- 21:48SPEAKER_07: But how I once had a middle in their screen.
- 21:53SPEAKER_07: The word I love that lady to wear it.
- 21:56SPEAKER_07: I've been teenado.
- 22:11SPEAKER_14: You know exactly.
- 22:14SPEAKER_14: I used to uh a lady that used to be a DJ here, uh Laura D, um, worked for one of the country stations.
- 22:22SPEAKER_14: I don't remember.
- 22:22SPEAKER_14: Same one I worked for, but I don't remember all those colored uh they've all run together.
- 22:26SPEAKER_09: Uh-huh.
- 22:26SPEAKER_14: But she wore uh uh Rocky Mountain, oh no, um I don't I don't remember those Rocky jeans that were just all butt and tight.
- 22:35SPEAKER_11: Way up high waist.
- 22:36SPEAKER_14: Yeah, high waisted, yeah.
- 22:38SPEAKER_14: So uh yeah, I could have Yeah, I'll have I'll have dreams tonight thinking of Lorraine.
- 22:43SPEAKER_11: Lorraine played to the tune of tech features.
- 22:47SPEAKER_11: I feel like I know what you're they're like real dark blue jeans.
- 22:50SPEAKER_14: Yeah, real dark blue and no pockets and just nothing but they made you they made ladies' hinds in hind-ins look really nice.
- 22:59SPEAKER_14: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:00SPEAKER_14: Before the buttling.
- 23:01SPEAKER_14: Before buttling, way before butling.
- 23:03SPEAKER_11: This is what we had.
- 23:05SPEAKER_11: Oh, nice.
- 23:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah, anyway, and you had another you had a story.
- 23:08SPEAKER_14: I I I that you were talking off mic, and then I don't remember, and you probably I can tell by the look on your face.
- 23:13SPEAKER_11: I was just gonna talk about uh maybe it'll be more applicable when I play more songs because I absolutely have more folk songs in here.
- 23:19SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 23:19SPEAKER_11: But when I was a kid, uh my mom loved the movie Oh Brother Art Thou.
- 23:23SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, with George Clooney.
- 23:25SPEAKER_11: George Cloning Goofy movie.
- 23:30SPEAKER_11: That's almost like I knew what you were gonna say.
- 23:32SPEAKER_14: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:32SPEAKER_11: Uh you know, it's a parody of uh what's it called?
- 23:35SPEAKER_11: The Odyssey, Homer's Odyssey.
- 23:37SPEAKER_11: And uh it's all about uh folk music in the in the south and my mom listened to that.
- 23:45SPEAKER_14: Clogging.
- 23:45SPEAKER_14: Didn't they do that?
- 23:46SPEAKER_14: Didn't they clog in that movie?
- 23:47SPEAKER_14: You know, clogging dancing.
- 23:48SPEAKER_11: They didn't dancing, but they did the like, you know, the goofy and them there healed.
- 23:55SPEAKER_11: No, but they did a lot of folk music, and that was the soundtrack, and my mom adored that soundtrack.
- 23:59SPEAKER_11: So she listened to that over and over when I was a little kid, and it wasn't until about ten years later when I got into Bob Dylan that I thought, oh, I love folk music, because my mom just forced it into me when I was a kid.
- 24:10SPEAKER_11: So we've got a couple of Oprah other words out tracks on this on this show.
- 24:14SPEAKER_14: Oh, fantastic.
- 24:15SPEAKER_14: Well, I like that.
- 24:16SPEAKER_14: Well, listen, I think we got the time for one more before we actually need to go to break.
- 24:19SPEAKER_14: So before we have to take a look, we have to take a little we're gonna take a recess.
- 24:26SPEAKER_14: I'm trying to have to talk break, and I'll explain to you what the difference is.
- 24:29SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 24:30SPEAKER_14: Okay, during during the break.
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: During the break.
- 24:33SPEAKER_11: During our recess.
- 24:34SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 24:34SPEAKER_11: This next one's a little bit more modern, though.
- 24:36SPEAKER_11: This is uh Amy McDonald.
- 24:38SPEAKER_14: I don't even know her.
- 24:39SPEAKER_11: I know, this one's kind of blinking you miss it.
- 24:41SPEAKER_11: Uh I don't know.
- 24:42SPEAKER_11: I heard this one when I was a kid and I've always loved it.
- 24:44SPEAKER_11: This is the life.
- 24:56SPEAKER_16: All the way whistles down, call back straight tonight, and the people they were dancing.
- 26:49SPEAKER_16: When you wake up in the morning, you have the switch so you gonna go, we gonna go, we gotta sleep.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: I got I got I got the jingle for him.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: You got a wake up jingle.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Make up for the wake-up Wake Up call.
- 28:11SPEAKER_04: It's a wake up call.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: Wake up, wake up, get up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up Wake up, wake up, it's time to wake up for music Laugh with me, buddy, jest with me, buddy.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Don't let her get the best of me, buddy Don't ever let me start feeling lonely If I ever needed you, buddy, you know now I really do, but don't ever let me start feeling lonely I cry at the least little thing, but and I'll die if you mention her name But talk to me, buddy, stay with me, buddy Let's don't let her get away with but don't ever let me start feeling lonely Let's talk about things as they were But before I got mixed up with her but laugh with me buddy Jest with me buddy Let's not let her get the best of me Buddy Don't ever let me start feeling lonely Boom boom boom boom boom boom That one was for you, Dave.
- 30:49SPEAKER_14: Willie Nelson, you know, and you know Willie, um that's the early days.
- 30:53SPEAKER_14: You were just saying, yeah, the pictures of him, he's got real short hair and nobody's clean cut, I didn't recognize it.
- 30:59SPEAKER_14: Yeah, Willie was like that till he got turned on to the devil's lettuce and then Devil's lettuce.
- 31:06SPEAKER_14: I don't, you know, you're I I I said devil's weed, and then you were like, oh, you corrected me.
- 31:10SPEAKER_14: It's devil's lettuce.
- 31:11SPEAKER_11: Well, that's the that's the common like sarcastic term for when kids who are uh clearly into the devil's lettuce are like oh no, I I do not partake of the devil's lettuce.
- 31:22SPEAKER_14: You know, um I I have a poem.
- 31:25SPEAKER_14: I need to find that poem.
- 31:26SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna read it.
- 31:26SPEAKER_14: It's about and I got an A on it in high school.
- 31:29SPEAKER_14: This is back in 68, 69, 70, 70, somewhere in there.
- 31:33SPEAKER_14: Um but it's about is it harmful?
- 31:36SPEAKER_14: And um I I need to find it because it goes on about, you know, if if it was given to us by nature, why would it be how could it be harmful?
- 31:48SPEAKER_14: Right?
- 31:49SPEAKER_14: But you know, you can say that about a bunch of things.
- 31:52SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_14: But the thing is, it is natural, it's about as natural as you get.
- 31:55SPEAKER_14: As far as I'm concerned, it should have been legalized a long time ago.
- 31:58SPEAKER_14: Uh it has helped a lot of people that cope with uh that have to cope with I I know you use it too.
- 32:04SPEAKER_14: Sleeping, anxiety anxiety, it's the best for me, it's the best.
- 32:09SPEAKER_14: Sleeping it definitely is the best way I know how to sleep.
- 32:14SPEAKER_11: Much better than you know, I I have a actually a prescription to hydroxine, which is a sleeping pill.
- 32:19SPEAKER_11: It's basically just like a super Benadryl.
- 32:21SPEAKER_11: It just makes you super sleepy, but it makes you so growing the next day all day.
- 32:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 32:26SPEAKER_11: I know I know of a of a different type of medicine that has no after effects.
- 32:30SPEAKER_14: I was gonna say, yeah, because I can I wanted to switch to gummies because I it's hard on my lungs, but um I know I I I don't wake up the next morning with a hangover, nothing.
- 32:40SPEAKER_14: I feel great.
- 32:40SPEAKER_14: I feel well rested and um and I you know who knows what I did in the middle of the night.
- 32:46SPEAKER_11: But you turn into a a weed zombie, a weed werewolf.
- 32:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah, something, I don't know, but it's great.
- 32:53SPEAKER_14: Well we're doing a tribute to really some kind of traditional country, what were we calling it?
- 32:58SPEAKER_11: Country roads.
- 32:59SPEAKER_14: Country roads, I like that.
- 33:01SPEAKER_14: Um I started my career in radio at the ripe old age, at 13, 14 years old.
- 33:10SPEAKER_14: Playing this stuff.
- 33:11SPEAKER_11: You were an old man already at that point.
- 33:14SPEAKER_14: Well, I kind of felt like it.
- 33:16SPEAKER_14: I I did the FM side when we did the whole album side as I said that before, you know, you sound like you were stoned when you when you played when you introduced the album side and then in the in the morning I signed on the AM station morning and played the country music.
- 33:29SPEAKER_14: Signed off at midnight at rock and roll station, signed the country music station on in the morning at 6 a.m.
- 33:34SPEAKER_14: and played old.
- 33:36SPEAKER_14: Well, it wasn't old time country at that time.
- 33:38SPEAKER_11: It was fairly recent.
- 33:40SPEAKER_14: That's right.
- 33:41SPEAKER_14: It was modern hits.
- 33:43SPEAKER_11: I live you had a double life too, rock at night country in the morning.
- 33:46SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:48SPEAKER_11: There's a big um, I don't know, there used to be this joke on the internet when I was a kid, like when you would get an account online and you would have your interests listed, kids who were really pretentious who would always put, I like all music.
- 34:01SPEAKER_11: Except for rap and country.
- 34:03SPEAKER_11: I was I was one of those kids.
- 34:05SPEAKER_11: I'd be like, I love the Beatles, I love Rap and Country stupid.
- 34:10SPEAKER_11: And then you grow up and you actually listen to some music, you know, more than the five albums you have, and you're like, I like all this stuff.
- 34:17SPEAKER_14: So you know, in doing this show, when I ask different people and they're gonna be guests on it, I will ask them what type of music they like, right?
- 34:24SPEAKER_14: So that we will try to match what what they enjoy, you know, like we did with Tammy and Stevie Nicks and then Dolly, we did Dolly with uh Megan.
- 34:33SPEAKER_14: So typically the words out of their mouth are pretty much anything but rap.
- 34:39SPEAKER_14: I don't want to do rap.
- 34:40SPEAKER_11: Which, in their defense, like a lot of the modern day rap is pretty hard for people to get into if it's not their thing.
- 34:46SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 34:47SPEAKER_11: Um I'd love to have uh an episode uh where it's like rap for people who don't like rap.
- 34:52SPEAKER_11: Oh man, I'm already planning it, Dave.
- 34:54SPEAKER_11: That's perfect.
- 34:55SPEAKER_14: Because I can there was a song I played one time when I was at uh pirate, and this lady calls and I have it recorded somewhere.
- 35:01SPEAKER_14: Oh my god, I love that song.
- 35:03SPEAKER_14: And then she afterwards she's like, we're we're talking, we're chatting a little bit, and she says, you know, that was the first rap there ever was.
- 35:10SPEAKER_14: And she's right, but it was an older I don't I wish I could remember what it was, but it it it was based.
- 35:15SPEAKER_14: And Elvis, I did jailhouse rock.
- 35:18SPEAKER_14: And if you think about jailhouse rock, that is a rap song.
- 35:22SPEAKER_14: That's a rap the way that the way it's delivered is the way they do rap music.
- 35:26SPEAKER_11: Absolutely.
- 35:26SPEAKER_11: You could even go even further and say, you know, the ink spots?
- 35:29SPEAKER_11: Uh I do.
- 35:30SPEAKER_11: They they every song they have like a vo uh a verbal breakdown where they just say the lyrics like on a child if I didn't care more than that.
- 35:41SPEAKER_11: And that almost feels like 1920s rap where they're they're playing on the rhythm and the spoken word.
- 35:47SPEAKER_11: I think that there's a rap song for everyone out there.
- 35:49SPEAKER_11: I just know that it's a huge genre.
- 35:51SPEAKER_14: It is.
- 35:52SPEAKER_14: But uh I I I don't lump it now altogether.
- 35:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you know, there is even I like some some slim shady stuff.
- 35:59SPEAKER_11: Oh, right.
- 36:00SPEAKER_11: You know, well, and even Buster rhymes, like anybody can get behind that and dance together.
- 36:06SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
- 36:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah, exactly.
- 36:08SPEAKER_14: Good point.
- 36:09SPEAKER_11: And it's the same with country.
- 36:10SPEAKER_11: I think there's a country song for everybody.
- 36:12SPEAKER_14: I do too.
- 36:13SPEAKER_14: Is this one of them you got coming?
- 36:14SPEAKER_14: Was this am I ruining a segue?
- 36:16SPEAKER_11: No, you're really not.
- 36:17SPEAKER_11: Uh more of what I was gonna say, too, is uh this is a guy who really to me seems like a goth cowboy.
- 36:23SPEAKER_11: Do you know who I'm talking about?
- 36:25SPEAKER_11: Just from that description.
- 36:27SPEAKER_11: He always wore black.
- 36:29SPEAKER_11: His song there you go.
- 36:31SPEAKER_14: Goth cowboy.
- 36:32SPEAKER_14: Wow, yeah, yeah.
- 36:34SPEAKER_11: So that's why when like I'm talking to goth kids who are kind of dabbling in country, I'm like, listen to Johnny Cash.
- 36:40SPEAKER_11: I think you'll get something.
- 36:41SPEAKER_14: Absolutely, yeah.
- 36:41SPEAKER_14: Good call.
- 36:42SPEAKER_11: He's rock and roll, he's country, he's old.
- 36:44SPEAKER_14: And he can't hold a tune with him.
- 36:46SPEAKER_11: And that's why the people can relate.
- 36:48SPEAKER_14: That's exactly right.
- 36:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and you know, he was sympathetic to some of the world's most forgotten people, prisoners.
- 36:55SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 36:56SPEAKER_05: I'm Johnny Cash.
- 37:05SPEAKER_05: I hear the trainer coming, it's rolling around a pen, and I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when I'm stuck in the fold from prison, and time keeps dragging on.
- 37:23SPEAKER_05: But the train keeps rolling on down the side and home.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: When I was just a baby, my mama told me, son, always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns, but I shot a man in Reno Just to watch him die.
- 37:47SPEAKER_05: When I hear that horse pull blowing, I think my head and pride.
- 38:17SPEAKER_05: I bet they're bridged both people, but I better die.
- 38:22SPEAKER_05: They're probably drinking topping.
- 38:24SPEAKER_05: And smoke both big cigars.
- 38:26SPEAKER_05: Well I know I had it coming.
- 38:29SPEAKER_05: I know I can't eat But those people keep a moving Android.
- 39:04SPEAKER_05: Well if that freak was from the whistle, if that railroad train was mine, I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line.
- 39:14SPEAKER_05: Far from Bolton prison.
- 39:16SPEAKER_05: That's where I want to stay.
- 39:22SPEAKER_05: And I'd let that lonesome whistle hold my blues away.
- 39:35SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I I used to do a parody of this song.
- 39:38SPEAKER_14: I I wear I keep my let's see, I keep a close watch on this heart of mine.
- 39:42SPEAKER_14: I'd keep my pants up with a piece of twine.
- 39:46SPEAKER_14: Because you're mine.
- 39:47SPEAKER_14: Please pull the twine.
- 39:51SPEAKER_11: Uh I think he would approve.
- 39:52SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you think Johnny would be alright with it.
- 39:55SPEAKER_11: He seemed like he had a decent sense of humor.
- 39:57SPEAKER_14: He did, he did.
- 39:58SPEAKER_14: You know, I he was a decent guy, I think.
- 40:01SPEAKER_14: Uh he tried real hard.
- 40:02SPEAKER_14: And you know, he was a he was a family man.
- 40:04SPEAKER_14: I never heard anything derogatory between him and June Carter.
- 40:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, uh it just sounded like he had some demons and he found the woman who was willing to stay with him and to help him.
- 40:14SPEAKER_14: Exactly, get him over that stuff.
- 40:16SPEAKER_11: And that's why I find his performances at prisons very endearing because um it's a dangerous place first and foremost.
- 40:22SPEAKER_11: I think that's one of the few charity events that people would actually want to take on.
- 40:27SPEAKER_11: So he had the bravery.
- 40:29SPEAKER_11: And also, people always talk about forgiveness, and there's always hope for tomorrow.
- 40:33SPEAKER_11: You can always change yourself.
- 40:34SPEAKER_11: But when it comes to prisoners, everyone hates them.
- 40:37SPEAKER_11: You know?
- 40:38SPEAKER_11: They deserve a little bit of sympathy too.
- 40:40SPEAKER_11: I mean, some of them, you know, totally lots of people.
- 40:41SPEAKER_14: Yeah, there's some that can't be rejuvenated for sure.
- 40:47SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah.
- 40:48SPEAKER_11: But then who knows?
- 40:49SPEAKER_11: Some guy might have been in the audience that day, saw Johnny Cash performing and going.
- 40:53SPEAKER_14: Change his life.
- 40:53SPEAKER_11: Dang, I need to get out of this place.
- 40:55SPEAKER_11: You know, who knows?
- 40:56SPEAKER_11: And then just come on him, get on him.
- 40:59SPEAKER_14: Alright, so we're doing a little bit of country roads today, and uh, you know, it sure takes takes me a little back there.
- 41:06SPEAKER_14: Um I I really I love this music.
- 41:08SPEAKER_14: I fell in love, I but I did not dare tell anybody in high school.
- 41:13SPEAKER_11: Oh no.
- 41:13SPEAKER_11: I like all music except for Rap and Country.
- 41:15SPEAKER_11: See, you had your own version of that back in the day.
- 41:18SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
- 41:19SPEAKER_11: I like all music except for country.
- 41:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, exactly.
- 41:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I I don't know, it was weird.
- 41:24SPEAKER_14: Um but yeah, country was not well there I take that, but I didn't run with the cowboys.
- 41:29SPEAKER_14: There were the cowboys in school, and I'm sure they liked country.
- 41:33SPEAKER_14: But you know, they always had the boots and the hats.
- 41:34SPEAKER_14: I that wasn't me.
- 41:35SPEAKER_14: I had the old torn-up jeans and faded out and barely hanging on, and you know, probably wasn't washed in 20 days and a t-shirt.
- 41:43SPEAKER_11: You don't give a damn about your bad, but you take a show.
- 41:45SPEAKER_14: Right, that's right.
- 41:47SPEAKER_14: Me and Joan Jess.
- 41:48SPEAKER_11: And it's kind of hard.
- 41:49SPEAKER_11: Country is so aesthetic that it's hard to like just casually listen to it and have people think, oh, I'm just a casual fan.
- 41:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's like you secretly want to go to the rodeo.
- 41:59SPEAKER_14: Ooh, Mindstone Cowboy.
- 42:02SPEAKER_14: All right, well, let's play another one.
- 42:05SPEAKER_11: As I'm just harassing you.
- 42:07SPEAKER_11: This is another one of your picks.
- 42:08SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 42:09SPEAKER_11: Merle Haggerty.
- 42:22SPEAKER_08: The first thing I remember knowing was a lonesome whistle blowin', and the youngest dream of growing up to rise On a freight train, leaving town, not knowing where I'm bound, and no one could change my mind, but mama tried.
- 42:42SPEAKER_08: One and only rebel child from a family meek and mine.
- 42:48SPEAKER_08: My mama seemed to know what they in store.
- 42:52SPEAKER_08: Spite of all my sunset learning, cards about I kept on turning, till mama couldn't hold me anymore.
- 43:02SPEAKER_08: I turned 21 friends and line was a roll.
- 43:07SPEAKER_08: No one could steer me ride, but mama tried, mama tried, mama tried to raise me, but it's me, and leaves only me to blame those mama tried.
- 43:31SPEAKER_08: Dear old daddy, rest his soul, left my mama heavy low.
- 43:37SPEAKER_08: She tried so very hard to feel the shoes.
- 43:41SPEAKER_08: Working hours without rest, wanted me to have the best.
- 43:46SPEAKER_08: She tried to raise me right, but I refused.
- 43:51SPEAKER_08: And I turned 21 present without the road.
- 43:56SPEAKER_08: No one could steer me right, but mama tried, mama tried, mama tried to raise me better, but her bleeding happy man, and believes on in me to blame cause mama tried Oh but he changed the meat.
- 44:27SPEAKER_04: It's the cream of the crop, it's the cream of the crop, it's the top.

- 49:06SPEAKER_11: Now that is a classical Brother Wear Art that song for me.
- 49:10SPEAKER_14: And I liked it too.
- 49:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 49:11SPEAKER_14: Like little Yeehaw stuff is what I like to call it.
- 49:14SPEAKER_11: Yee ye.
- 49:15SPEAKER_11: And you know, um, it goes to show this was like uh why my mom loved the the album so much.
- 49:21SPEAKER_11: It was just so replayable.
- 49:23SPEAKER_11: Uh speaking of movies though, we got a random random rand today.
- 49:27SPEAKER_14: I'm so glad to hear that.
- 49:28SPEAKER_11: If only I had my opening, but um red.
- 49:34SPEAKER_11: So what did I watch?
- 49:36SPEAKER_11: Just yesterday I watched the newest installment into the Marvel cinematic universe.
- 49:43SPEAKER_11: Uh Doctor Strange 2.
- 49:45SPEAKER_14: Doctor Strange.
- 49:48SPEAKER_11: Yes, in the multiverse of Madden.
- 49:51SPEAKER_11: Okay, so I don't even know where to begin with this one.
- 49:58SPEAKER_11: All of his attacks are not just a laser hand.
- 50:01SPEAKER_11: He's like creating monsters out of the air.
- 50:06SPEAKER_11: He's like using spells of that.
- 50:08SPEAKER_11: First of all, he's crazy.
- 50:10SPEAKER_11: Second of all, this movie was directed by Sam Rainey.
- 50:14SPEAKER_11: And for those of you who know, he's great with comic book movies.
- 50:17SPEAKER_11: He did the very first Spider-Man movie.
- 50:19SPEAKER_11: He's also uh a cult film hero with his evil dead horror movies.
- 50:25SPEAKER_11: And he took both of those skill sets into this new Doctor Strange movie, and halfway through it turns into a horror movie, Dave.
- 50:32SPEAKER_11: Doctor Strange is he's bringing zombies back to life.
- 50:35SPEAKER_14: He's using the I could probably get into this.
- 50:37SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, that's what I mean.
- 50:39SPEAKER_14: I saw it in the theaters.
- 50:40SPEAKER_11: I saw it in the theaters, it was the best$7 for a ticket I've ever spent.
- 50:45SPEAKER_14: Um, we need a bell for that.
- 50:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah, um, Sam Raimi loves comic books.
- 50:51SPEAKER_11: He he 100% brought the fun of comic books into this movie, and halfway through he hits you with a surprise.
- 50:58SPEAKER_11: You know, it's nothing too horrifying, but it's like a fun horror movie.
- 51:01SPEAKER_11: There's like electric guitars and and um uh you know uh winks at the camera, you know, like ah, you know what you're seeing here.
- 51:09SPEAKER_11: Absolutely last of a movie.
- 51:11SPEAKER_11: I couldn't recommend it anymore.
- 51:13SPEAKER_11: Even if you've never seen a Doctor Strange movie, I think you can get into this one.
- 51:18SPEAKER_14: Alright, Doctor Strange in theaters now.
- 51:20SPEAKER_11: In theaters now, multiverse about it.
- 51:23SPEAKER_14: I like it.
- 51:24SPEAKER_14: Alright, well, so we're doing Country Roads today, and we kind of got But we're not doing the new country, like the Toby Keith Up or Keith.
- 51:32SPEAKER_14: Well, I know we're nothing against him.
- 51:35SPEAKER_14: I like Keith Urban too.
- 51:37SPEAKER_14: Those are the kind of folks that kind of brought country, and and Garth Rhodes is probably the biggest uh uh contributor to bringing the country to a different level completely.
- 51:48SPEAKER_14: Um But this is the old country, this is where it started.
- 51:52SPEAKER_14: And uh, you know, you've opened my eyes to a couple of great songs.
- 51:56SPEAKER_14: Uh I didn't really even think about Arlo Guthrie to begin with, who we had in the first segment, and it just really blows me away.
- 52:02SPEAKER_14: It was a great tune, too.
- 52:05SPEAKER_11: And uh yeah, this is just a a nice reminder for people to get back to their roots and to remember that uh even the old stuff is good and it can be revamped, you know.
- 52:14SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 52:14SPEAKER_11: I'm actually gonna play a song that's a movie that was uh released in 2007, but to me is like a classical panic as a discount one of my favorite emo bands.
- 52:27SPEAKER_14: This is gonna be a country song.
- 52:29SPEAKER_11: But it's gonna be a country song.
- 52:30SPEAKER_11: It's called Falcon Around.
- 52:56SPEAKER_17: Well stomachs lasted longer than, longer than we do When nothing really matters, that's the me to be with you But in time we all forgot and we all through Donald It is that it's sweet as the first time it was done With a little bit more character for done And by the time your father turned up all the wrong you're done Then I put him out the letter Find your own way back home I've forgotten how to stink before I've stunned this done I'll ride it all across the wall before my job is done And I'll be without the courtesy of admitting I was around And the final word before I'm dead and done You've never been so divine in accepting your defeat And I've never been more scared to be alone Yes thought it's not enough to put my enemies to sleep Then I'm putting out the letter Find your own way back home You know funny thing about these songs, they are freaking short.
- 54:26SPEAKER_14: They are short It reminds me of the early days And usually we can sit back, but now it's like oh my god it's already over Yeah yeah Well listen next week I think what we'll do we're gonna I I I love this idea you're the one that threw it at me and we're gonna do rap for people who think they don't like rap.
- 54:43SPEAKER_11: Yes, I love it.
- 54:44SPEAKER_11: I'm very passionate about this.
- 54:46SPEAKER_14: And I'm gonna see if I can't find that song that that in the in the message that that lady left me years ago on pirate.
- 54:52SPEAKER_14: And I'll play that too because uh it just you know it it really uh it hit home to me.
- 54:57SPEAKER_14: I'm like, oh yeah, that is rap, you know.
- 54:59SPEAKER_14: And then I got to think, well, that Elvis song that I do, that's rap too.
- 55:02SPEAKER_11: So yeah, I almost might even throw a couple of those songs in.
- 55:04SPEAKER_11: Things that were almost like precursors to rap.
- 55:06SPEAKER_14: To rap, yeah.
- 55:08SPEAKER_14: All right, so I we're about out of time, little Wren.
- 55:11SPEAKER_14: I'm sorry, I'm just gonna call you little Wren.
- 55:13SPEAKER_11: You're gonna call me Little Wren.
- 55:14SPEAKER_14: I know you don't mind.
- 55:15SPEAKER_11: Because no, I'm not gonna be able to do that.
- 55:16SPEAKER_14: Well, we two stepped across the floor here.
- 55:19SPEAKER_11: We we've become very close.
- 55:21SPEAKER_11: It's okay.
- 55:21SPEAKER_14: That's right.
- 55:22SPEAKER_11: Well, and also usually people who call me little are like my height or whatever.
- 55:27SPEAKER_11: And I'm like, don't talk to me.
- 55:29SPEAKER_11: But you are physically taller than me and more experienced, so I will be your little wren.
- 55:34SPEAKER_14: Okay, well, I I I appreciate the permission to do that.
- 55:37SPEAKER_14: I just don't I don't want you to think it's a not it's disrespectful, I guess, is what I mean.
- 55:42SPEAKER_11: I guess I mean it, I guess I take it as in like uh little sister.
- 55:46SPEAKER_14: Yeah, no, yeah.
- 55:47SPEAKER_14: Oh, there we go.
- 55:48SPEAKER_14: Yeah, don't you know little sister?
- 55:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah, maybe we'll make that our theme song.
- 55:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, don't show you.
- 55:56SPEAKER_14: All right, well, listen, um I I love this show, it's a great idea.
- 56:00SPEAKER_14: Thank you again.
- 56:01SPEAKER_14: Um and we'll do more of these, I think, because I know there's a ton of this music out there.
- 56:06SPEAKER_11: Absolutely.
- 56:06SPEAKER_11: I'm down into more genre exploration for my own taste.
- 56:10SPEAKER_14: And I love the fact that you uh bring stuff that I never heard before.
- 56:15SPEAKER_14: I mean, I'm blown away by the Arlo Guthrie.
- 56:18SPEAKER_14: I mean, I'm gonna go home and pull some more music of his and just listen now.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm so glad.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:23SPEAKER_14: I love him anyway, but I I never listened to a lot of his stuff.
- 56:26SPEAKER_04: So but yeah.
- 56:28SPEAKER_14: So thank you for that.
- 56:28SPEAKER_14: So next week we're gonna do rap for people who think they don't like rap.
- 56:33SPEAKER_14: And we're gonna prove you wrong.
- 56:36SPEAKER_11: Hopefully with at least just one song.
- 56:38SPEAKER_14: Alright.
- 56:38SPEAKER_14: I'm so glad we've had this time together.
- 56:41SPEAKER_14: What do you got?
- 56:42SPEAKER_14: Anything you want to say?
- 56:43SPEAKER_11: I was gonna say, despite all of this rap uh rap.
- 56:46SPEAKER_14: All this crap?
- 56:48SPEAKER_11: I was gonna say country, then rap.
- 56:49SPEAKER_11: I almost said crap.
- 56:50SPEAKER_11: But despite all this country music we've been playing, um mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.
- 56:56SPEAKER_14: This is perfect.
- 56:58SPEAKER_14: Little Wayland.
- 57:03SPEAKER_06: Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold.
- 57:26SPEAKER_06: If you don't understand him, he don't die here, he'll probably just ride away, babies broke to beat me to baby to be a little like some children girls.
- 59:21SPEAKER_12: Well, shoot, over already?
- 59:24SPEAKER_12: No need to panic, Ren, and David will be back next week.
- 59:27SPEAKER_12: Same WUC time, same WUC station.
- 59:32SPEAKER_12: All right, I gotta say all rights reserved.
- 59:34SPEAKER_12: For K SJ E and W C, I'm Zeb McCluskey.
- 59:39SPEAKER_12: And until next time, excellent to each other.
- 59:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're going to clean that.
