- 0:00SPEAKER_06: Hello everyone and welcome to another year here at the Kenway Football Club.
- 0:05SPEAKER_06: We've got so many guests here, and this is the fourth time.
- 0:10SPEAKER_06: So in this episode, we'll be having our regular guests, and maybe possibility maybe it's a new one.
- 0:18SPEAKER_06: See how we go.
- 0:19SPEAKER_06: So sit back and relax.
- 0:21SPEAKER_06: Oh, I haven't said this for a long time.
- 0:23SPEAKER_06: Go get your biscuits and your cup of tea.
- 0:27SPEAKER_06: I love saying that.
- 0:28SPEAKER_06: So here we go for another year.
- 0:31SPEAKER_06: We have the 2026 Canworth Inclusive Presentation Show.
- 0:37SPEAKER_06: Let's get on with this.
- 0:39SPEAKER_06: Hello and welcome here on the 2026 Canal Football Club presentation show.
- 0:45SPEAKER_06: We have a regular.
- 0:47SPEAKER_06: He's like the name is Ben Horn for our first guest.
- 0:52SPEAKER_06: Welcome, mate.
- 0:52SPEAKER_06: Thank you, BJ.
- 0:53SPEAKER_06: Now join the show again.
- 0:55SPEAKER_06: Alright, it's absolute a pleasure.
- 0:58SPEAKER_06: So for an official decision to retire, congratulation on your career with Kenworth Inclusive Football.
- 1:07SPEAKER_06: It's been honoured to be with part of your journey since I've joined six seasons 2020.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So thank you for having me on the show for the final time.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Been a pleasure for I don't know how many years I've joined the show in a consecutive year after year, but it's been great to be a guest every time I've been on.
- 1:31SPEAKER_06: Absolutely, and you're welcome to come back in the next year if you're available.
- 1:35SPEAKER_06: That's okay.
- 1:36SPEAKER_06: So straight into the first out of we've decided to do three questions.
- 1:41SPEAKER_06: What was your favourite game to play in this season?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Good question.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So as you mentioned, I've only played probably limited games due to outside noise and being f like having farther commitments.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: But the game that I my favourite, I'll be honest, is probably playing Broadview Tigers here at home when we won by I think it was like a hundred like 99 points or a hundred point, and that was I think Jimmy Taylor's milestone game as well.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Maybe you could correct me if I'm wrong, BJ, but yeah, no, that is correct.
- 2:22SPEAKER_06: And stay tuned for him because he's a matter of regular guess, but yeah.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: That's uh good.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I think that's the most enjoyed game that I've played.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 2:35SPEAKER_06: So what is the one thing you are most proud of from your season?
- 2:41SPEAKER_06: So we have spoken about like finishing your football career, but what's been your proud moment?
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Another good hard question, which I love.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I think the most proud moment of my season would be my anger behaviour on the field.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I know round one was a bit catastrophic for me being sent off.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Coming back into the side against like you know, a tough team like Kilburn that where they, you know, target me and try to aggravate me.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think my anger behaviour has been the most important part of me playing for this club because normally I would be sent off or carded or you know, other things that happen.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: But I think this year I didn't receive one one single card in the games that I played, which is a big achievement for me going forward.
- 3:40SPEAKER_06: So and final, what have you enjoyed the most about playing footy for Kenworth?
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: What I've enjoyed the most is with the time that I have played with the games.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: As I said, I played very limited, but the games that I enjoyed, and my most favourite moment, was probably playing Broadview, as I mentioned earlier, and then my other game was probably this year's first elimination final against Tri Gully, but that was my end of my career due to being injured.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think that's the most favourite moment playing those two games, and then playing against Titri Gully, eliminating them, credit to Titri Gully for making finals for the first year in four or five years since being in the comp.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's my most enjoyable moment playing that year, that game to say, before my final season uh ended due to injury.
- 4:46SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 4:46SPEAKER_06: And before we leave, besides playing our like with Kenworth and all that, so finals is in uh in the AFL Australian Football League.
- 4:56SPEAKER_06: Free and for in Geelong.
- 4:58SPEAKER_06: Who's your tip?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I want to say Geelong, uh, only because I want to see Fremantle be eliminated in straight sets, like the uh like my team, the LO Crows, did last year.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So all the uh media hype is on Frio and not the crows.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: For tomorrow night's game, I would I would like to see crows get the chocolates over the lions.
- 5:21SPEAKER_06: I was gonna say that eventually, but that's okay.
- 5:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so Geelong and the Crows.
- 5:27SPEAKER_06: The you can say one in the west and one up north.
- 5:32SPEAKER_06: So two challenges.
- 5:34SPEAKER_06: We'll see what happens in the next wealth.
- 5:37SPEAKER_06: The time I will extend this out, we'll find out anyway.
- 5:42SPEAKER_06: So let's see if I can get two out of two, hey?
- 5:44SPEAKER_06: Well, that'll be 100% like going for goal.
- 5:47SPEAKER_06: Anyway, thank you so much for your time.
- 5:50SPEAKER_06: It's absolutely been a pleasure.
- 5:52SPEAKER_06: All the best from off the field point of view, and very much for having me again, as I said.
- 5:58SPEAKER_06: And we'll see you very soon.
- 6:00SPEAKER_06: That is Ben Horn, our guest, back very shortly here for the Kenworth presentation show.
- 6:08SPEAKER_06: Hello and welcome back to our 2026 Kenworth presentation show.
- 6:15SPEAKER_06: So if you are enjoying us so far, yes, we only have one guest, but please follow along this journey because this next guest has been a regular guest, he's a legend of this football club, he's known as Big Bird.
- 6:30SPEAKER_06: Why Big Bird?
- 6:31SPEAKER_06: I think that's his personality.
- 6:32SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and we all should know what is Big Bird, it's from a kids' TV series, but it's nothing to do with that.
- 6:39SPEAKER_06: I think it's just I think he's loud and passion.
- 6:45SPEAKER_06: So, name is Aaron, mate, Big Bird.
- 6:49SPEAKER_06: Welcome to the show.
- 6:51SPEAKER_06: Hello, thank you so much for your time, mate.
- 6:54SPEAKER_06: So, yes, you're not playing, it's like and yep.
- 6:59SPEAKER_06: So, thank you for your time and passion and you know, been to almost about not half of the games about in regardless, what has been your favourite moment with the team this season?
- 7:16SPEAKER_05: On together?
- 7:20SPEAKER_05: Never give up.
- 7:23unknown: Okay.
- 7:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, stuck together.
- 7:29SPEAKER_06: I think that's a bit pretty short and sharp.
- 7:31SPEAKER_06: So look, it's been a very difficult uh like not difficult but showing season, and we know that you your voice people like without you there's oh wow, it's makes a massive difference.
- 7:47SPEAKER_06: So in my next question is like we're not we're gonna talk about in your thoughts and we you know who what was your thoughts and who you think was gonna win the best and fairs uh the presentation butler Brennan Butler wow okay, yep so he does everything in midfield oh he's absolutely amazing so yep, okay, I like that.
- 8:19SPEAKER_06: So to continue on our or guest interview so moving to I know you're not like I said and I'll say it again, we know you're not playing, you're behind.
- 8:34SPEAKER_06: So what would you like for the inclusive Kenworth to do to move forward to next season?
- 8:43SPEAKER_06: Trying to get younger players and local schools Yeah, I I think that I think location doing it Yeah, like I think that's a really good answer there because yeah, so I think the improvement next season we want more players and they got junior junior lot training.
- 9:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah so and what has been your you know favourite part of being part of the team?
- 9:20SPEAKER_06: Friendship I think and you before we went on the other, your time even though you do the all the game being gone pie as well, you know, that that's you know, you're part of the team, big boy, no matter you're on the sideline.
- 9:40SPEAKER_06: I remember the 2025 grand final.
- 9:44SPEAKER_06: I want to say this again.
- 9:46SPEAKER_06: You you basically our cheer score, you're right there, you're loud, your passion, we'll you're right there.
- 9:54SPEAKER_06: But oh wow, it's it's being an honor for when you're there it's it's different, but when you're not there, I think we're missing that voice.
- 10:06SPEAKER_06: The passion, the passion, the voice, the the good, you know, it really does help.
- 10:13SPEAKER_06: So you know it doesn't matter if you're watching our game or the seniors you are there.
- 10:18SPEAKER_05: I'm in it myself, even with the score line, it's totally different.
- 10:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 10:24SPEAKER_05: So it's like you got another 10% effort.
- 10:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:29SPEAKER_06: So look, thank you so much, Big Bird Aaron, mate.
- 10:34SPEAKER_06: It's been an absolute pleasure.
- 10:36SPEAKER_06: And that is our next guest.
- 10:39SPEAKER_06: Oh, what a guest he's going to be.
- 10:41SPEAKER_06: We'll share that very soon.
- 10:43SPEAKER_06: We'll be back right here for the 2026 Kenworth Football Club presentation inclusive.
- 10:50SPEAKER_06: We'll be back very soon.
- 10:52SPEAKER_06: Alright, welcome back to the 2026 Kenworth Presentation Show.
- 10:57SPEAKER_06: Well, amazing.
- 10:59SPEAKER_06: We have had another guest.
- 11:00SPEAKER_06: He's asked actually in the club rooms about when I'm gonna be on.
- 11:06SPEAKER_06: And I said, yes, you are on.
- 11:08SPEAKER_06: And our next regular guest, he's always loving you, he's listening, Jimmy Taylor.
- 11:14SPEAKER_06: Oh my goodness, welcome, mate.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: Thanks, mate.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: Thanks for having me on for another year, for another year, the cookers.
- 11:20SPEAKER_06: So, mate, it's some some challenges, and this I think in six seasons, this has been a rebuild of challenges, what we needed.
- 11:29SPEAKER_06: So, the first out of the questions we're gonna share.
- 11:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_06: Oh hoy, um, so what part of your game do you think has you have improved most of this season?
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: I've improved.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: I've been being so I'm a defensive player slash midfield, but I'm mainly a midfielder and just working on my craft and trying to help the boys lead in the backline and like listen to me with the boys as well, just trying to improve my skills with like leadership group in the back line.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: But yeah, trying to keep working on my footy skills like in the training, but yeah, trying to improve in that defense side.
- 12:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's so amazing.
- 12:13SPEAKER_06: So, oh my god, uh bit of a de moment there.
- 12:17SPEAKER_06: So, yeah, great moments, yeah, craft mate.
- 12:20SPEAKER_06: You you improve so much this season, and I can see your your you know, when when I came in the fence, sometimes I've a bit unsure what I need to do, but you always keep me in line, and Chris has been there to help me through as well, and that's what makes a big difference my part.
- 12:38SPEAKER_06: But our next question is now part of the presentation in your thoughts, who do you think was going to win the best in Ferris?
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: Oh Caleb Rigney all the way, mate.
- 12:49SPEAKER_04: I already I already knew it from day one, like this year.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: I already knew, like from what I saw like in the midfield, I just knew.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: All good, all good.
- 12:57SPEAKER_06: So, yeah, so yeah, no, I I think Calvin has been impressive.
- 13:02SPEAKER_06: You know, his leadership in the midfield, his domination, his domination in that midfield is just expired.
- 13:12SPEAKER_06: We're so lucky to have him.
- 13:13SPEAKER_06: He's paid reserves, he's he can play that level.
- 13:17SPEAKER_06: Played a big grade.
- 13:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, big grade is the motherword of reserves.
- 13:21SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:21SPEAKER_06: So for Kenworth.
- 13:23SPEAKER_06: So it's I think he's definitely the favourite for that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_06: But moving into our so we all have our favorites and uh moments, but what's inspires you the most while playing for Kenworth this year?
- 13:37SPEAKER_06: We've talked about or you've spoken about your craft, your midfield, and your defence.
- 13:41SPEAKER_06: So your half and half.
- 13:43SPEAKER_06: What's inspired you?
- 13:44SPEAKER_06: What's been something like have you got more confidence in playing more defence or midfield?
- 13:51SPEAKER_04: I've got more confidence in playing more more midfield than defence.
- 13:55SPEAKER_04: Um, because that's sort of what what I wanna do more in the midfield.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: I wanna do more running and then then like not I still wanna be in my defense like role, but I still wanna keep like keep moving the body and keep running, but like like you gotta help out.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: You gotta do what you do for your team, you know.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: So cause the team comes first, right?
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: So I need to I need to you gotta know your role first before, you know, like the next roles in your team.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: So I like uh yeah, just wanna do midfield more stuff really, but I gotta keep learning to just do what I need to do, you know, every day, one day at a time.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: So next year hopefully we'll like keep doing challenges like that for all the boys.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: And I want the boys to to keep keep doing stuff on preseason and keep trying to keep active, you know, because some of the boys don't like to don't like to be active during preseason.
- 14:46SPEAKER_04: So I want the boys, like if they're listening, I want them to keep um to keep to keep going outside, go for walks, you know, do the gym if you need, go gym, do some kicking more, running around ovals, so yeah, just just stuff like that.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: Because it's it's not about me, it's more about the boys, the team.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: It's not like no pressure, like I do what I need to do, but it's more about team, yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_06: And final game, uh final game.
- 15:10SPEAKER_06: Final question, and thank you for your time.
- 15:12SPEAKER_06: It's been your pleasure once again, but what's been your favourite game?
- 15:16SPEAKER_06: What's been your more confidence of of the season on for Kenworth?
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: It was I think you'd know this BJ.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: It would be my hundredth.
- 15:25SPEAKER_06: Hundredth game, yes, I think.
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: Round five against uh Broadview.
- 15:30SPEAKER_06: Amazing, I will never forget that.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: One goal, and I've I never I never I can't kick goals in defense, right?
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: So kick one goal, right?
- 15:38SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I I I knew my kid to go as well.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: And remember, it was live footage on the SNFL app, so I got I've got live footage of that on my phone, so I do as well.
- 15:49SPEAKER_04: I'll never forget that, but unfortunately with the source we've got that's gonna be memory for me for like the rest of my life now because like there's so many photos of it now on the this social, like on socials, so all memories and stuff.
- 16:03SPEAKER_04: Can I just say something, B Joe?
- 16:04SPEAKER_05: Sure.
- 16:05SPEAKER_04: I'd like to say a thank you to coaches, James, Chris, Tesh, Wayne, to everyone, especially Chris man.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: Like, he's been a good coach, so Jane, and I just want to thank them and like just be half of me, to like just fit like in the center like role, because like for me and my mental health, you know, it's been a roller coaster, but I do this because of my mental health, and I do this to be active, be fit, and to make friends and to just like enjoy my time here and stuff and just keep going.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: And as long as I go, you know, and I wanna play for another hundred games, you know.
- 16:38SPEAKER_06: That's really good, you know.
- 16:39SPEAKER_06: Be be that one step, you know, you're gonna be inspired, mate.
- 16:43SPEAKER_06: But that's what I was trying to ask you, but you beat me to it.
- 16:47SPEAKER_06: Thank you so much, mate.
- 16:48SPEAKER_06: It's like I said, you're welcome anytime, and you're you're loyalty to Kenworth, the highs, the lows, mate.
- 16:55SPEAKER_06: You you I tell you right now, mate, you behind the scenes, you know, you've asked me to pick you up to go to I think Salisbury.
- 17:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_06: You know, and then you know, behind it's there's reasons for it.
- 17:08SPEAKER_06: Completely understand.
- 17:09SPEAKER_04: This rejoice always the first one at training every single Tuesday.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: I've always been that first one at training to help out Chris.
- 17:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know always the number one guy who helped with Grissom.
- 17:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I I try to get there on time, but was other commitments as well.
- 17:26SPEAKER_06: You know, that's life, but I think I partly before we end tonight, I think my you know, even I didn't win a ward tonight, and I I think I can get better, it's not about getting the award, it's about you being your part, and I understand how Chris has asked me what I need to do something, and I do it in my way, and then it gets a very, you know, when we played Kilburn in the semi-finals, it was a very messy, you know.
- 17:52SPEAKER_06: We just we knew Kilburn were a good team.
- 17:54SPEAKER_06: We have that's respectful part, but I think when we start well, we need to stay on mind.
- 18:01SPEAKER_06: But it happens and we can I ask you something.
- 18:04SPEAKER_06: Sure.
- 18:04SPEAKER_04: What's what's your highlight?
- 18:06SPEAKER_06: What's the best game that what's the best game you I really think my favourite there's a few games here, Jimmy, and thank you for asking me because it's there's no rules of this part, but I think the game against Sorcerer, I think that that guy wasn't on the boundary.
- 18:22SPEAKER_06: I think Jane's saturated.
- 18:24SPEAKER_06: Like a little bit, it wasn't, it was how I described that goal was basically around my body, and I had just picked it up and I kicked the goal and I celebrated it.
- 18:34SPEAKER_06: Now, we all know about the TV show bounce.
- 18:36SPEAKER_06: It's uh yes, we always talk about it, and we're gonna have another guest about that very soon.
- 18:42SPEAKER_06: He was always getting annoyed about it.
- 18:44SPEAKER_06: Oh no, you do this, you do that.
- 18:46SPEAKER_06: No, I have not done it.
- 18:47SPEAKER_06: Do they sell on bounce?
- 18:48SPEAKER_06: Well, it's Andrew Gaze, is a it's a boomer Australian formal boomer basketballer.
- 18:54SPEAKER_06: I love bounce, it's gonna be a beauty, it's grand finals on Fox Sports, so that's on KOPA.
- 19:01SPEAKER_06: I do have, I always love watching bounce every Sunday night.
- 19:06SPEAKER_06: It's a passion.
- 19:07SPEAKER_06: I know some do not like it.
- 19:09SPEAKER_06: That's their choice, but it's just something that I've actually lost.
- 19:13SPEAKER_06: It's two parts of that show.
- 19:15SPEAKER_06: It's turn it up.
- 19:16SPEAKER_06: There's some insane behind it up.
- 19:18SPEAKER_06: Oh mate, it's every time they hit the goal, I finally said it.
- 19:22SPEAKER_06: But yeah, no, I think besides that Swelly game away, I think it was, I think improving me to play anywhere.
- 19:31SPEAKER_06: Not crazy enough at Broadview.
- 19:33SPEAKER_06: I got two votes for that.
- 19:35SPEAKER_06: And I thank you for the coaches.
- 19:37SPEAKER_06: You know, I think four votes this year, it's in that's the most votes.
- 19:44SPEAKER_06: In six seasons, I never get four votes.
- 19:47SPEAKER_06: That is the highest record of my life.
- 19:50SPEAKER_06: So Passion of overall, I'm actually proud to say that my favourite game for this season is swords being a part of helping out Board of You.
- 20:00SPEAKER_06: I played a half a game of Board of You and I spoke to you about it, and you said you didn't give me any effort.
- 20:05SPEAKER_06: Now you're not in training.
- 20:06SPEAKER_04: You think of that think of it to training, and then a fella named The Boys, the the boys who I have to push at training, I want them to push in the game as well.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: And it's it's hard, you know.
- 20:17SPEAKER_04: Absolutely how they are on the gap on that day, you know.
- 20:21SPEAKER_06: So one of their teammates fought for the ball, and I said, No, I said, No, it's mine.
- 20:26SPEAKER_06: Now there was no pressure, there was absolutely no pressure.
- 20:29SPEAKER_06: So, yeah.
- 20:30SPEAKER_06: All right, thank you so much, Jimmy.
- 20:32SPEAKER_04: We'll be back.
- 20:33SPEAKER_04: Thanks for having me on, mate.
- 20:34SPEAKER_04: Uh nice.
- 20:35SPEAKER_04: Let's go for 2027.
- 20:37SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: That's our guest.
- 20:39SPEAKER_04: Jimbo.
- 20:39SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's our guest.
- 20:40SPEAKER_06: Jimmy Taylor will be back very shortly.
- 20:42SPEAKER_06: Hello, welcome back to the Canonworth presentation show.
- 20:46SPEAKER_06: Right here at CannaWorth Football Club.
- 20:49SPEAKER_06: Next guest, we have another one who absolutely loves the It's a BJ show.
- 20:56SPEAKER_06: Every time I come into the room, he inspired.
- 20:59SPEAKER_06: He is a regular once again.
- 21:01SPEAKER_06: Alex Lynn Linny.
- 21:03SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 21:04SPEAKER_06: He loves, he hates when I say turn it up.
- 21:07SPEAKER_06: And guess what?
- 21:08SPEAKER_06: Oh, be quiet, BJ.
- 21:10SPEAKER_06: Ha ha ha.
- 21:11SPEAKER_06: Alex Lynn, welcome to the show, mate.
- 21:14SPEAKER_06: Thank you for having me, BJ.
- 21:16SPEAKER_06: Alright, no worries.
- 21:17SPEAKER_06: It's look, it's a mother pleasure to have a mother regular.
- 21:21SPEAKER_06: So there's a pretty tough questions if you're right for this, but what part of your game do you think you have improved this season?
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: Oh well, I've been playing forward and back this year, and sometimes I've hated playing back, but I just get through it, and the team says I do well down back.
- 21:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, it's someone like you, you're not a defender.
- 21:46SPEAKER_06: I can I can tell that you you just go through it and you trust your instance, you can do that.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: So next is what has been your favourite moment with the team this.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Probably when there's been a milestone game and everyone gets around whoever it is playing their milestone games.
- 22:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so and probably the prelim win to get into the prelim.
- 22:13SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I think that's a pretty good so with so much of you being around the club for oh too long.
- 22:21SPEAKER_06: You know, I don't know, we've always lost count of how long you've been here and all that.
- 22:26SPEAKER_06: We're not gonna go into that because we've asked those questions in the past.
- 22:30SPEAKER_06: So while with inspiring you, what has inspired you the most playing for Kenilworth?
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: Probably just my teammates getting around me and having good games and some bad games.
- 22:43SPEAKER_06: Okay, yeah, no, I I like that.
- 22:46SPEAKER_06: But I think what I really think is what has been your favourite moment game, you know, overall from this season.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Probably one of my best mates, Jim's hundredth game against Boardview, and just getting around him when he kicked that goal.
- 23:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I think there's so many milestones, Jimmy.
- 23:06SPEAKER_06: Alex Lynn, Linny.
- 23:08SPEAKER_06: So, yeah, no, I think that's a absolute my pressure to, you know, yes, you're you know, sharing Jim Taylor's hundred game is incredible, and when he kicked that goal, you're right there to celebrate with him.
- 23:21SPEAKER_06: And I think he was proud and you're proud and you gotta stick together no matter what happens.
- 23:27SPEAKER_06: But the last question I'm going to share with you, mate, is what you like to be in what are you looking forward to improving next season?
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Probably a bit more forward minutes and just help the team get back to the grand final, I guess.
- 23:43SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and would you like to say any thank yous to not just you mentioned about teammates, but generally of coaches.
- 23:52SPEAKER_06: Do you want to say any words of that?
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Thank you for the coaches and the support teams and obviously my teammates getting around us each week, each and every week.
- 24:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 24:03SPEAKER_06: So yeah, no, thank you so much.
- 24:06SPEAKER_06: You know, it's been a pleasure once again.
- 24:09SPEAKER_06: You know, you I've seen, you know, yes, you've had a sore ankle, but guess what you do?
- 24:15SPEAKER_06: You never give up, you just continue.
- 24:17SPEAKER_06: I've had a sore ankle, and guess what I do?
- 24:20SPEAKER_06: I continue.
- 24:21SPEAKER_06: So, yep, and guess what?
- 24:22SPEAKER_06: That's what you gotta do in life, PJ.
- 24:25SPEAKER_06: Uh unfortunately, yes.
- 24:26SPEAKER_06: And you know, not just playing foot like plain sport, you do other stuff in life and you get sore feet like I do.
- 24:35SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 24:35SPEAKER_06: But anyway, mate, besides that, thank you so much once again beyond the Beeja Show here at Kenworth Football Club.
- 24:43SPEAKER_06: Being a pleasure, and hopefully, oversee you with a winning award for season 2027.
- 24:50SPEAKER_06: But the most important, hard work has come through it.
- 24:53SPEAKER_06: So, all the best, and we'll see you once again very soon.
- 24:57SPEAKER_06: Thanks, mate.
- 24:58SPEAKER_06: No worries, it's Alex Lynn, our regular guest.
- 25:01SPEAKER_06: We'll be back very shortly.
- 25:02SPEAKER_06: Hope you enjoy it.
- 25:03SPEAKER_06: So if you do, give this a like, subscribe, follow wherever you get your podcast.
- 25:08SPEAKER_06: We'll be back very soon here at the Cannonworth Presentation Show.
- 25:12SPEAKER_06: Hello and welcome back.
- 25:14SPEAKER_06: I hope you hope you're enjoying this because I know it's been a very much a passion.
- 25:20SPEAKER_06: He's been in the leadership group first time, he's used his voice, he's have his his leadership up and down, but I think he's really shown a different way of being in the leadership group, and I think you have been perfect for that role.
- 25:35SPEAKER_06: But anyway, Austin mate, it's welcome, mate, and thank you for your time.
- 25:41SPEAKER_06: So we'll get yeah, we'll get straight here into our interviews.
- 25:45SPEAKER_06: So what's been your favourite moment with the team this year?
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: There is one from last year, one from this year I will do.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: Last year in round four against Christie's.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: That was when I had my first goal and my first best player, thinking that I was pretty much one of the best players on the ground at that point.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: And for this season, it was the round six game when I came back from tonsil surgery because I've been diagnosed with sleep at, so I had to get removed or this could kill me.
- 26:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:12SPEAKER_06: So next one is what was your favorite game to play this season?
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: The apple mentioned Goodwood game at Goodwood, because this was the first time I'm taking on a buddy.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: And then round ten against the same team here because I feel like Goodwood or Apple Stone are kind of like my best games.
- 26:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:30SPEAKER_06: So, so we talked about, you know, moments, favorite moments, and you know, favourite gains.
- 26:36SPEAKER_06: So what's helped you in expired this footy season?
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: Uh it's basically just trying to improve where I can and trying to do like trying to prove hey, I belong here, especially with the crazy standards that people say Kenneworth had.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: It's actually not as bad if you put some hard yards.
- 26:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 26:55SPEAKER_06: So what's been the challenge this season for Kenilworth for this footy season?
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: For this footy season in particular, uh, it was having to be away for two games, two home games, especially that Christie's one.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Sounded like it hurt when I found out how badly it went.
- 27:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so once it and final game, uh final game.
- 27:17SPEAKER_06: Keep saying final game.
- 27:18SPEAKER_06: I've done that early in the show, but what has inspired you the most while playing for Kenworth?
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, just the culture around it.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: As I mentioned to a few people early on, like when people say, Oh, oh, Kenneworth, nothing uh but scumbags or dirty bastards and stuff, but I came to Kenworth specifically not to ring chase.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: If I wanted to do if I I could easily get a ring with you guys, at least one or two, but it was to shut up the people who say you guys are nothing but rough.
- 27:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but I I can think now before we actually go, mate, what would you like to say, not just about your teammates, but to the coaches and team support around this footy season?
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: Uh I'd love to say like with everyone coming in, doing their own part, everything's been really amazing.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: And with the coaches, like it looks like they're switched on for us, trying to do everything in the scenes, like we don't even see it, and you couldn't appreciate it enough.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: It's too it's almost impossible to, especially for every little thing that goes into this club, the sponsors, plus bringing in potential sponsors.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: And I have some plans for next year, pretty much in on the field and off.
- 28:29SPEAKER_06: Yeah, well, you just spoke about the improvement of next season.
- 28:33SPEAKER_06: That's basically we'll share finish up from that.
- 28:36SPEAKER_06: So, all right, mate, thank you so much for your time, and we'll see you very soon.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Thank you very much, PJ.
- 28:44SPEAKER_06: No worries.
- 28:44SPEAKER_06: That's our guest.
- 28:45SPEAKER_06: Well, coming up, we're more likely we'll finish up with our final guest coming soon.
- 28:51SPEAKER_06: Stay stay tuned for that.
- 28:52SPEAKER_06: We'll be back.
- 28:53SPEAKER_06: Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Kenworth Presentation Show.
- 28:59SPEAKER_06: So strange that we got our a person who has been on the show before.
- 29:05SPEAKER_06: He's, you know, he's I think got more, you know, had help behind as well for assistant coach, so it's always had two eyes on a football team.
- 29:16SPEAKER_06: So that's welcome, Chris mate.
- 29:18SPEAKER_06: Welcome to the show.
- 29:19SPEAKER_03: Thanks, BJ.
- 29:20SPEAKER_06: No worries.
- 29:21SPEAKER_06: So, you know, it's I call this the challenge year.
- 29:26SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna just use in that word.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:29SPEAKER_06: Because we can't have a difficult year because that's been negative.
- 29:32SPEAKER_06: So we I like to be positive.
- 29:34SPEAKER_06: I used to be a negative person.
- 29:36SPEAKER_06: If something's been negative, I don't I know it.
- 29:38SPEAKER_06: That's how I'm gonna that's how I'm gonna teach myself.
- 29:41SPEAKER_06: But so we won't do all 10 questions because there's so many that might be repeatable than that.
- 29:47SPEAKER_06: But what has inspired you the most about coaching this season for the inclusive 10 with team?
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: To be honest, this season what I've been most impressed with was how we've lost in games.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: I think that round one was complicated and our emotions got the best of us.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: But having coming up against Goodwood side, that obviously beaten us and then Kilburn beating us and the way the finals uh occurred.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: We did it with our heads up.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: We didn't get emotional, we weren't reactive, which is I think what would have generally happened two, three seasons ago, four seasons ago, where a few players would start to set the tone in a negative light.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: And like you said about positivity, I think this year, because again, you can't win every football game, it's unrealistic.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I get it.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: Lucky you've got a back-to-back premiership in Kilburn over the last two years, but again, Kennelworth had their time and went back to back as well.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: And losing is a part of football, but something that I think I always try and make sure everyone's very clear on it.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: If you're gonna lose, it's about how you go about it still, because it's gonna happen and it's not just in football, it's in life.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: You have times and you have your bad, but it's it's about how you are as a person and how you move through that.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: So I think what I've seen this year is us step up to that, us actually have those losses, but be dignified in in how we've gone about those.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: I hope that answers your question.
- 31:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, but it's it's absolutely perfect.
- 31:09SPEAKER_06: So, you know, you only coach half of season, which is 50% of four games.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: So I I coached 10.
- 31:17SPEAKER_03: 10 games I coached.
- 31:18SPEAKER_06: So about uh 75%.
- 31:21SPEAKER_06: I'm not gonna do the seven moment.
- 31:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:24SPEAKER_06: Uh ha ha ha.
- 31:25SPEAKER_06: I think you got you know what I mean of that.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: But I'm not that old.
- 31:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, same.
- 31:29SPEAKER_06: We got our own version of that.
- 31:31SPEAKER_06: But what have you enjoyed though about coaching this group?
- 31:36SPEAKER_06: Basically, uh not just last year, or I think this is your second year of head coach.
- 31:41SPEAKER_06: Second year, yep, so over over the two and two, four seasons, yeah.
- 31:48SPEAKER_06: What's what's the most enjoyable coaching for the inclusive for kernel website?
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: Honestly, when when we get in the change rooms and I I preach that I have such love for all of you as people, that that's why I'm here.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't be here otherwise.
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: I think every single player in that change room has is a completely different individual and they're a beautiful person as they are.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: And I have such respect for the whole team that's why I'm here.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: Because you guys are amazing.
- 32:14SPEAKER_03: And it's not about winning or losing on the football field.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: It's about how we can be a family and be a community and lift each other up rather than then drag each other down.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's where I sit within that coaching role is again, yeah, it's great to win games of footy, but you've got to be realistic, you can't win everything.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: And when you don't, it's about family and the community that you bring around you.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: And I think tonight's a good example of how we we come together as a group, not individual people.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: So yeah, that I hope that answers you answers that question.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, the thing that I love most about doing this is being there with you guys because you're all amazing.
- 32:50SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and yeah, no, I've enjoyed the second time of time, second season.
- 32:56SPEAKER_06: I have improved under under you, Chris.
- 33:00SPEAKER_06: For footy.
- 33:01SPEAKER_06: Yeah, not not not basketball.
- 33:03SPEAKER_06: No, not netball.
- 33:04SPEAKER_06: We're not talking about netball, because netball is mate, that's an hour conversation.
- 33:09SPEAKER_06: Absolutely different, different spot.
- 33:11SPEAKER_06: But I think I think understanding the game style, where I need to go, then I know, but over and over, and you're on the field, being that runner, being that message, messager, uh help not me, but the team generally keeping control, and that's how we uh l win or lose.
- 33:30SPEAKER_06: We lose football, and it's how we how we motion it together as a group.
- 33:35SPEAKER_06: And I think yes, we've had our moments from losses, but I think, well, let's just say, oh well, let's just say 90% we've had to control, 10% was basically against Kilburn our first game.
- 33:48SPEAKER_06: And I think the 10%, it's not well, well, that's everyone.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: But you talk about growth, but that's round one out of 14 rounds, yeah.
- 33:55SPEAKER_03: Finals, so again, from first round through to now, we can see that growth.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: And I think talking about proudest moments, I think that it's I really value what happens off the ball.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's players that can get the ball and do amazing things, but if they ever lose that ball, it's what happens off the ball in how a defender positions themselves that makes the difference.
- 34:13SPEAKER_03: And I think that's where we've we've we've really improved your ordy is that off the ball movement so that we support our teammates even if we haven't got the ball.
- 34:22SPEAKER_03: And I'm very proud about that gameplay and how that's yeah.
- 34:25SPEAKER_06: So all right, mate.
- 34:26SPEAKER_06: I think that's that's it.
- 34:28SPEAKER_06: Mother interview, mother year.
- 34:30SPEAKER_06: Hopefully you'll continue coaching.
- 34:32SPEAKER_06: I think you know, it's always you're always keeping you'll you'll have your moment when you're not impressed, but you always say in a modern way instead of the old fashioned way, you know, the old bray.
- 34:45SPEAKER_06: I think you may have done it maybe once.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: Once, yes.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: Once once.
- 34:49SPEAKER_06: We won't talk about that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_03: That's that was round one.
- 34:52SPEAKER_06: Yes, because it's keeping that's like whoa.
- 34:55SPEAKER_06: And I think since game one.
- 34:57SPEAKER_06: I think that actually it was actually not bad.
- 35:00SPEAKER_06: I was just saying that, but ever since that game, it works.
- 35:03SPEAKER_06: See, it makes one game.
- 35:05SPEAKER_06: Sometimes it has to work a whole season just to make it work.
- 35:08SPEAKER_03: So what's the saying?
- 35:09SPEAKER_03: I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.
- 35:11SPEAKER_06: Disappointed, but the mouth came out.
- 35:13SPEAKER_06: But anyway, mate, yeah, thank you so much, Chris.
- 35:16SPEAKER_06: It's been it's absolutely been a pleasure for mother year, mother season.
- 35:20SPEAKER_06: Move on, season 2027.
- 35:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, nice.
- 35:24SPEAKER_06: Thank you so much again.
- 35:25SPEAKER_06: Speak to you soon.
- 35:26SPEAKER_05: Legend.
- 35:27SPEAKER_05: Thanks, Pach.

- 36:02SPEAKER_06: I want to say thank you to the coaches.
- 36:04SPEAKER_06: It's absolutely amazing to be under that roof.
- 36:09SPEAKER_06: It's been an honor to be part of a mother sensational season.
