- 0:00Speaker 1: Ben Higgins and Ashley I bring you infamous.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Sometimes roses are red flags.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome back, everybody. It's Tristas Sutter and of course I
- 0:13Speaker 1: am just half half to a whole of the Almost
- 0:17Speaker 1: Famous OG podcast. So I'll be talking to Casey Call today.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You guys, if you watched Ali Fedotowski season or Ali
- 0:27Speaker 1: Manto now, she dated Casey and he is known for
- 0:34Speaker 1: a couple things that we will definitely get into on
- 0:37Speaker 1: the show. He's sang a very unique song, he got
- 0:41Speaker 1: a tattoo. He was dropped off on a glacier, or
- 0:44Speaker 1: he not dropped off, he was basically said goodbye to
- 0:48Speaker 1: you on a glacier while Ali and this other guy
- 0:50Speaker 1: flew away in a helicopter. So I'm sure if you
- 0:54Speaker 1: guys watched it, these things are bringing back memories as
- 0:58Speaker 1: I speak. Anyway, I am really excited to talk to
- 1:02Speaker 1: Casey and hear all about how life is for him
- 1:04Speaker 1: now and want to welcome him to the show.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you so much. It's so good to
- 1:08Speaker 2: see you. Last time I saw you as in Vegas Homegirl,
- 1:11Speaker 2: long long, long time ago.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I was literally going to say bachelor pad when I
- 1:15Speaker 1: when I read that you it reminded me because I
- 1:19Speaker 1: don't have a brain these days. I mean, we don't
- 1:24Speaker 1: look at this, Scott. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So yes, it brought back memories of when we were
- 1:31Speaker 1: in Vegas and I was watching you guys crawl on
- 1:34Speaker 1: a big, huge wall.
- 1:37Speaker 2: That was crazy, and I felt like, man, I could
- 1:39Speaker 2: have done so much better. But I think, you know,
- 1:42Speaker 2: under that pressure is like, Okay, we're in the final
- 1:44Speaker 2: three or whatever of the Bachelor Pad and you know,
- 1:46Speaker 2: we got all the tensions going, and You're like, okay,
- 1:48Speaker 2: I got to perform. And then Staglano goes and busts
- 1:51Speaker 2: out the best coolest move and I'm like, why did
- 1:52Speaker 2: not think of that? Man? I'm like, dang it, God
- 1:55Speaker 2: he had me. You got my number on that one.
- 1:58Speaker 1: That's amazing. Oh my god, brings back memories.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I love it.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So it's good to see you.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. It's good to see you too.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Thank you so much for coming on the podcast. I
- 2:07Speaker 1: want to kind of go back to the beginning, very
- 2:10Speaker 1: beginning for how we met Casey and how it all started.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So how did you hear about the show and how
- 2:16Speaker 1: did you end up auditioning or getting nominated?
- 2:19Speaker 2: So ironically it kind of goes back actually to you
- 2:22Speaker 2: and Ryan. Honest I watched You guys on the initial
- 2:25Speaker 2: show and it inspired me thinking like, oh, you know,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's so cool to find love in such a you know,
- 2:30Speaker 2: grandiose away. Because I'm a cheese ball. I'm a hopeless romantic.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You know, I can't help that's never changed, by the way.
- 2:35Speaker 2: You know, my wife gets annoyed by it sometimes, but
- 2:39Speaker 2: I can't help myself, you know. But I remember watching
- 2:41Speaker 2: You Guys show and it worked for you guys, and
- 2:43Speaker 2: I'm thinking to myself, you know what that's that's really cute.
- 2:46Speaker 2: And then fast forward, you know, twenty five, I think
- 2:48Speaker 2: years old, twenty six. You know, I was single. My
- 2:51Speaker 2: sister obviously didn't think I can get a date in
- 2:53Speaker 2: real life, so she applied for me online. And so
- 2:56Speaker 2: she applied for me to become the Bachelor, and you know,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I got cross or phone call, and you know, I
- 3:02Speaker 2: did all the casting, all the testings, all the whatever,
- 3:04Speaker 2: and walk the whole you know, that whole dance, you
- 3:07Speaker 2: know what I mean. And sure enough, you know they
- 3:09Speaker 2: put me on the show.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, crazy, right, how that all works? Oh my gosh.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I love I love that we inspired you. That makes
- 3:17Speaker 1: me so happy.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, little that I know. I mean it was. It's
- 3:20Speaker 2: a really interesting dynamic, you.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Know, yeah, oh yeah, I mean please. It's the most
- 3:24Speaker 1: untraditional way to meet someone. But it can work out.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Hey, it can. It can. It did for y'all, and
- 3:31Speaker 2: that's what I love to see. And you guys are
- 3:32Speaker 2: happy and that's all that matters.
- 3:35Speaker 1: And you know what, it can work out. Even though
- 3:37Speaker 1: it worked out directly for Ryan and I, I think
- 3:41Speaker 1: that it is part of everyone whoever's part of Bachelor Nation.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's part of all of our paths, and those paths
- 3:48Speaker 1: lead to your future relationships whatever. Maybe right, so maybe
- 3:53Speaker 1: you wouldn't have met your wife had you not gone
- 3:55Speaker 1: on the Bachelorette. You know, I don't know.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I can assure you this that had I not gone
- 4:00Speaker 2: on the Bachelor, I would not have learned the things
- 4:03Speaker 2: that I've learned today in a real marriage and a
- 4:06Speaker 2: real relationship.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh I am. I am so excited that you said that,
- 4:11Speaker 1: because I would love to get into that.
- 4:13Speaker 2: How deep you want to get to a little bit later?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Deep you want to get today? Honey?
- 4:17Speaker 1: I like gause you want.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It's all about if you can ask the right questions today.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Oh the pressure, pressure.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Just to entice the audience a little bit, little little,
- 4:28Speaker 2: you know, little enticement.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I love it. Okay, we'll definitely get into that.
- 4:33Speaker 1: So when you walked into the mansion, and was it
- 4:36Speaker 1: the mansion that it is now or were you guys
- 4:39Speaker 1: in a different place.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah, no, we were in the original. You know, we're
- 4:41Speaker 2: OG's too, you know, we we got to be a
- 4:43Speaker 2: part of that big mansion and that big beautiful pool
- 4:46Speaker 2: and you know all the fun things that came with
- 4:48Speaker 2: that too. And I think our season was like the
- 4:51Speaker 2: height of like of where the bachelorette started to become
- 4:55Speaker 2: really popular. Of the bachelorette, right, it wasn't just the
- 4:57Speaker 2: bachelor now, that was about the bachelorette that was looking
- 5:00Speaker 2: for love. And I think that the season was so heightened,
- 5:03Speaker 2: and you know, we had so many great dudes on
- 5:05Speaker 2: that show. I mean, I think that was the coolest
- 5:07Speaker 2: part is that you know, that actually is how Bachelor
- 5:10Speaker 2: pad was created because we were so cool and so
- 5:13Speaker 2: we started doing appearances and started doing fun things, and
- 5:16Speaker 2: so the production was like, oh dude, you are you
- 5:18Speaker 2: guys are creating drama in all you guys own little world.
- 5:20Speaker 2: We need we need to emphasize on that. And so
- 5:23Speaker 2: cue Bachelor Pad. You know, that's why all the reunions started.
- 5:25Speaker 2: We just started doing these things. You know, it's kind
- 5:27Speaker 2: of crazy how it all worked out, but you know.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It is crazy.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It's definitely a union.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It is crazy, yeah, very much. So okay, so when
- 5:35Speaker 1: you walked into the mansion, how how are you feeling?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Was there anything that surprised.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You at this point? You know, as I'm going through
- 5:43Speaker 2: all the production of it, right and you know, I'm
- 5:45Speaker 2: kind of watching from the outside, kind of evaluating the situation,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and you know, I'm trying to see, Okay, I got
- 5:52Speaker 2: I got five guys in my limo boom boom boom.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Are they competition? Are they a threat? You know, you
- 5:56Speaker 2: kind of process all these things and then you and
- 5:59Speaker 2: then the production side comes. Okay, So like Trista, what
- 6:02Speaker 2: are you going to say when you first see Ali
- 6:04Speaker 2: or you know that that's what that's what the you know,
- 6:06Speaker 2: they bait you. You know what I mean, they bait
- 6:08Speaker 2: They bait you a little bit, you know, and so
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm thinking to myself, you know, I want to make
- 6:12Speaker 2: an impression, you know, I want I want to come
- 6:14Speaker 2: out and I want her to know that I'm genuine,
- 6:16Speaker 2: that I'm authentic, and then yeah, I'm a little cheeseball too.
- 6:19Speaker 2: But how do I do all that?
- 6:20Speaker 1: You know?
- 6:21Speaker 2: And so my grandma always told me to, you know,
- 6:23Speaker 2: make godly choices, and she always said that at the
- 6:26Speaker 2: end of the day, when you get married, make sure
- 6:27Speaker 2: that you got and protect the heart of your future life, right,
- 6:30Speaker 2: and it was biblical. That's what I wanted to say
- 6:32Speaker 2: to this, and you know, it kind of became like
- 6:35Speaker 2: a line throughout the rest of the of the show,
- 6:37Speaker 2: you know what I mean, kind of a catchphrase that
- 6:39Speaker 2: kind of took fire to what I was trying to
- 6:42Speaker 2: accomplish with Ali. You know. So it was really interesting
- 6:45Speaker 2: to kind of see, like, Okay, I have to I
- 6:46Speaker 2: have to plot out what I'm going to do and
- 6:47Speaker 2: say to try and catch this girl's attention in the
- 6:50Speaker 2: midst of all this other big production of these guys.
- 6:52Speaker 2: You know, I got to figure out something. So that's
- 6:54Speaker 2: I guess that's what I came up with.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you were good at it. You caught
- 6:57Speaker 1: her attention and all of ours. Okay, So Bachelor Nation
- 7:01Speaker 1: fans definitely remember getting our attention caught when you sang
- 7:06Speaker 1: a song for her in New York on your date
- 7:09Speaker 1: and after the helicopter ride. And I would love to
- 7:14Speaker 1: know did you write that song after your helicopter date,
- 7:18Speaker 1: like in the spur of the moment or ahead of time?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Were you thinking about it ahead of time? And had
- 7:23Speaker 1: you ever sung to a woman before.
- 7:26Speaker 2: That's a good question, That's a great question, you know. So, yes,
- 7:30Speaker 2: I'm definitely cheeseballing. I don't mind. I'm not a singer,
- 7:33Speaker 2: but I like to you know, I like to be cheesy,
- 7:36Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I think I made a
- 7:37Speaker 2: song at the end of the mentel all too you
- 7:39Speaker 2: know what I mean, Like it's just be I played
- 7:40Speaker 2: on it right. So but the reality of that situation
- 7:43Speaker 2: is I'm not just going to come out and sing
- 7:44Speaker 2: to a girl on a first date, you know what
- 7:45Speaker 2: I mean. I'm not going to do that, you know
- 7:47Speaker 2: what I mean. We're out in the middle of New York.
- 7:49Speaker 2: You know, it's kind of going crazy a little bit,
- 7:51Speaker 2: and you know, this is where I start to realize
- 7:53Speaker 2: this is more of a production than it is that
- 7:55Speaker 2: I'm trying to find love, you know. And so we're
- 7:57Speaker 2: out in the middle of New York and we're hanging out,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and you know, I'm trying to have a conversation with
- 8:02Speaker 2: Ali because it's just us and we're about to go
- 8:03Speaker 2: in this big, beautiful ship and do this big date.
- 8:05Speaker 2: And the thing I'm like, y oh, this is so cool,
- 8:07Speaker 2: like just in a conversation, and she wanted nothing to
- 8:10Speaker 2: do with me. So I was like, all right, okay,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I guess that's our date, you know, And yeah, no,
- 8:16Speaker 2: it's it's real, you know. And so at the end
- 8:18Speaker 2: of the day, I know what time it is, and
- 8:20Speaker 2: I could realize that I'm not her choice, right, I'm
- 8:23Speaker 2: not her pick, and I'm not going to try and
- 8:24Speaker 2: convince her to be a pick, you know. I'm like, Okay, well,
- 8:28Speaker 2: let's just have fun with it, right. And so the
- 8:31Speaker 2: Bachelor producers, as some you may know, you know, they are,
- 8:36Speaker 2: they're interesting people, and they want drama and they want
- 8:38Speaker 2: to kind of really drum up things to build drama
- 8:42Speaker 2: and build the facts. So, you know, we talked about
- 8:45Speaker 2: a lot of things, and we discussed some things that
- 8:46Speaker 2: could happen to be dramatic, and one of those things
- 8:49Speaker 2: was singing a song. And I said, you want me
- 8:53Speaker 2: to sing a song to a girl on a date,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and so we literally I said screw it, you know,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I said, whatever. You know, she don't like me anyway,
- 9:00Speaker 2: so whatever. You know, I'm like, I might as well
- 9:03Speaker 2: make a fool of myself and at least get some exposure. So,
- 9:05Speaker 2: you know, I literally jumped up there. I made up
- 9:08Speaker 2: some song on the whim. On the whim by the way,
- 9:11Speaker 2: you're laughing because it's this is real. This is I
- 9:13Speaker 2: finally get to share all this stuff, right, this is
- 9:15Speaker 2: so much fun because this is real. This is the
- 9:17Speaker 2: reality of it. I made that song up on the spot.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I don't even remember what it was. And if had
- 9:22Speaker 2: I made that song up today, it would be memed
- 9:24Speaker 2: everywhere on Instagram. It was yeah, you know, it was
- 9:27Speaker 2: so embarrassing, you know. And the way that they cut
- 9:30Speaker 2: it out too, There was more than just that too,
- 9:32Speaker 2: you know. It was just they made it look like
- 9:34Speaker 2: a really awkward moment, and I, you know, I was like, okay,
- 9:36Speaker 2: you know, so that's how that went down.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So was it awkward for you? You said it, They
- 9:42Speaker 1: made it look like an awkward moment. Was it awkward
- 9:45Speaker 1: in the moment, No, not at all.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I may spent I maybe spent five minutes with Ali,
- 9:49Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, you know, you're laughing
- 9:54Speaker 2: because you know it's true too. You know there's certain
- 9:56Speaker 2: things well.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I mean, I'm laughing because you're you're shining so much
- 10:03Speaker 1: light on the situation in terms of in terms of
- 10:07Speaker 1: like the fact that you were like, she's not interested
- 10:10Speaker 1: in me, so I'm just gonna have fun with it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It's so much perspective on that situation.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yes, but see, that's the thing is that no one understands.
- 10:18Speaker 2: We're gonna get deeper too. Wait, it's not over yet, girl,
- 10:20Speaker 2: We're just getting warmed up.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Good good, I'm excited.
- 10:24Speaker 2: In those moments. You know, those were my authentic self.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I think they were just playcated and produced to exemplify
- 10:30Speaker 2: a certain persona that the production wanted to show. And
- 10:34Speaker 2: for me, I just went with it, you know what
- 10:35Speaker 2: I mean. I had fun. You know, I'm like, Okay,
- 10:36Speaker 2: I'm on National TV. Am I going to be made
- 10:38Speaker 2: fun of? Probably? Yeah? Cool? Like, but am I here
- 10:41Speaker 2: to find love? I really was. I didn't find it.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I'm not going to find it, so I might as
- 10:45Speaker 2: well enjoy it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I love your perspective for real. It is so it's
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's so endearing.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Okay. So you had mentioned that sometimes the like to
- 11:01Speaker 1: bait you a little bit, and and you said, I.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Feel like start asking my questions.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Now do you have an NDA like baby?
- 11:19Speaker 2: Not anymore? Baby, let's go oh my gosh.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Okay, So you were you you you said that the
- 11:26Speaker 1: producers like to bait you know sometimes, So are you
- 11:30Speaker 1: saying that you were baited a little bit? And then
- 11:33Speaker 1: you just went along with it. You're like, you know what,
- 11:36Speaker 1: she has shown that maybe she's not very interested in me.
- 11:40Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna have fun with this, and if
- 11:42Speaker 1: the producers want to bait me, I'm gonna be baited.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I negotiated my way on multiple more episodes. Let's just
- 11:47Speaker 2: put it that way.
- 11:49Speaker 1: No way, yes, wait a way to whoa whoa whoa? Okay,
- 11:54Speaker 1: hold on you negotiation. Yes, you negotiated. You talked to
- 12:01Speaker 1: the producers and you said, if I'm do this, this and.
- 12:04Speaker 2: This wing, yes, facts I could drop. There's so much
- 12:07Speaker 2: more to We're gonna go down a deep rabbit hole today, girl.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So yeah, I got a loving da I've been waiting
- 12:14Speaker 2: for this moment. I'm excited.
- 12:19Speaker 1: My gosh, you are making me so happy.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I know, I know, trust me, I know, I know
- 12:26Speaker 2: it's gonna be good.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, so what you said, Okay, fine, Well if
- 12:32Speaker 1: I sing for her, you're gonna put me on more
- 12:34Speaker 1: shows because, like you mentioned, you wanted a.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Little not the shirt, not the song, not the song.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Oh, we're going deeper. I'm just I'm just trying to
- 12:43Speaker 1: get as much out of the song.
- 12:44Speaker 2: This song. The song is not.
- 12:45Speaker 1: This song is not very much. The song was okay,
- 12:48Speaker 1: we're good with the song.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Song was cool. It was. I made that up. I'll
- 12:50Speaker 2: make up another one right now for you, right now, trusted,
- 12:52Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I don't even care. Can
- 12:54Speaker 2: we till the end of the episode. I got it
- 12:56Speaker 2: getting back in the mood, you know what I mean?
- 12:58Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, done and done. We'll do it at the end.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That'll be the little icing on the top of the cake. Okay.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So next comes, or and maybe not next because it
- 13:10Speaker 1: has been a while since I watched the show. But next,
- 13:13Speaker 1: in terms of like the moments that you are remembered for,
- 13:18Speaker 1: was the tattoo moment, right, Okay, So you mentioned that
- 13:21Speaker 1: your grandma. I love that you brought in that your
- 13:24Speaker 1: grandma always told you to find someone who will guard
- 13:27Speaker 1: and protect your heart, and that had always been a
- 13:29Speaker 1: thing for you. So it wasn't something like you came
- 13:32Speaker 1: onto the show thinking, oh, I want to be kitchy
- 13:35Speaker 1: and you know, have a little time.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Let's let's pause out because the back to the first
- 13:40Speaker 2: night when I said that I was gonna when I
- 13:42Speaker 2: said I'm going to guard and protect your heart, every
- 13:44Speaker 2: producer on that show, this is when I knew that
- 13:47Speaker 2: this was more than just that. Every producer on that
- 13:49Speaker 2: show came up to me and said, Hey, go tell
- 13:51Speaker 2: the guys you're going to guarden and protect her heart.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Go tell that. I go. Go that guy's here for
- 13:55Speaker 2: the wrong reasons. Justin Rigo rate it are, he's here
- 13:57Speaker 2: for the wrong reasons. Go tell him he's here for
- 13:59Speaker 2: the wrong reasons, and go punk him and go say
- 14:02Speaker 2: you're gonna guard and protect her heart. So you know,
- 14:05Speaker 2: I knew it was happening at that point, right, I'm like, Okay,
- 14:07Speaker 2: you guys are really pushing me to say this, and
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm not crazy and I'm not stupid, you know what
- 14:12Speaker 2: I mean. So again I'm like, I'm going to be
- 14:13Speaker 2: here to enjoy myself and I'm going to go with it,
- 14:16Speaker 2: which goes hand in hand. And it actually is what
- 14:20Speaker 2: really got me pretty far in Bachelor Pad too, because
- 14:22Speaker 2: I played the producers at their own game when they
- 14:24Speaker 2: try to put Jake Paboka, my girlfriend's X, on my show,
- 14:27Speaker 2: and I said, that's not what I wanted, and they
- 14:29Speaker 2: did that anyways, So there's hole much like, there's so
- 14:32Speaker 2: much more to this that we can go down, but
- 14:34Speaker 2: we can go back to the tattoo and stuff because
- 14:35Speaker 2: that's fun too.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yes, we will for sure go back to the tattoo.
- 14:39Speaker 1: But you just mentioned your girlfriend's ex. So you were
- 14:41Speaker 1: dating Vienna at the time of Bachelor Pad. Oh okay, yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and he was.
- 14:46Speaker 2: On there and so yeah, and they and they were
- 14:49Speaker 2: trying to they were trying to get me off the
- 14:50Speaker 2: show as fast as they could because they wanted Jake
- 14:53Speaker 2: and Vienna to have this like type of thing. And
- 14:55Speaker 2: I saw this on the war board, and so when
- 14:57Speaker 2: I knew that they were trying to gun for me
- 14:59Speaker 2: off the show, I rallied the rest of the cast
- 15:01Speaker 2: and I knew for a second that I wasn't going
- 15:02Speaker 2: to give I wasn't get voted.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Off Okay, wait a second, what is a reward board?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Reward board a war war board room?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Sorry, this is a production room where they actually have
- 15:12Speaker 2: storylines and things that are in the background, where they
- 15:14Speaker 2: can see where they're how they're trying to draw out
- 15:16Speaker 2: the story and what they're trying to accomplish. Yeah. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 2: that's that's real too, by the way, in case you
- 15:21Speaker 2: didn't know that.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Okay, wait a second, I did know that, but but
- 15:25Speaker 1: you know, I've been around for a while.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Oh girl, I know. That's why I love you, dude.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I was like, it's me interested, dude, this is this
- 15:35Speaker 2: is this is gonna be amazing.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Okay, so a war board. How did you see this?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Was this like an accidental viewing or what did they
- 15:46Speaker 1: bring you in the room? Uh?
- 15:48Speaker 2: No, I walked into the wrong room at the wrong
- 15:50Speaker 2: time at the right time for me, and I just
- 15:52Speaker 2: saw everything and I was like, oh wow, wow, oh,
- 15:56Speaker 2: I'm I'm not supposed to be here. Okay, that's because
- 15:58Speaker 2: they had, like they had like their finals all planned
- 16:00Speaker 2: out and everything, like, they have a storyboard that's aligned
- 16:03Speaker 2: with all that for sure. Well, and the producer's job
- 16:07Speaker 2: is to produce that story right, just like of course, of.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Course, yeah, of course, yes. I mean I have always.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I think that's why I have always had good relationships
- 16:17Speaker 1: with the producers.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Because because you're the girl.
- 16:20Speaker 1: No, because I understand that this is their job. I
- 16:24Speaker 1: can be friends with them too, but I am able
- 16:26Speaker 1: to separate that in a way because I know that
- 16:29Speaker 1: they are they're doing their job.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Let may I ask you you've been You've been doing
- 16:33Speaker 2: this for a long time, Hunt, I'm sure you've seen
- 16:35Speaker 2: some tragic things, and I'm sure you've seen some things
- 16:37Speaker 2: that probably have gone, you know, unspoken about, and things
- 16:41Speaker 2: that you've seen on other episodes and other scenes and
- 16:44Speaker 2: other other seasons were like whoa Like that kind of
- 16:47Speaker 2: sucks for that person. You know, they're placating on that
- 16:49Speaker 2: person's emotions, they're playking on that person's credibility, you know
- 16:52Speaker 2: where they they can do that to you. And that's
- 16:54Speaker 2: where I really wanted to be vulnerable here, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and be honest here. You know, some of the things
- 16:58Speaker 2: that happened on that show were hurtful, and I've lost
- 17:01Speaker 2: friends from this show that I can go into a deeper, deeper,
- 17:03Speaker 2: deeper dive if we really want to go down that,
- 17:06Speaker 2: you know, and and for me at the end of
- 17:09Speaker 2: the day, you know, I still suffer PTSD from certain
- 17:12Speaker 2: things that I have to read about myself or things
- 17:14Speaker 2: that happened to me, or that people speculate or judge
- 17:16Speaker 2: me on. You have to remember you want to go
- 17:18Speaker 2: back to today one Trista. I was so excited when
- 17:22Speaker 2: I was on this show. I had I had a
- 17:24Speaker 2: watch party. I had a watch party with my entire
- 17:27Speaker 2: friends and family at a beach house. I invited everyone
- 17:31Speaker 2: that I knew.
- 17:33Speaker 1: This.
- 17:34Speaker 2: The first episode went went great, but one of the
- 17:37Speaker 2: producers called me and told me and said, hey, just
- 17:38Speaker 2: so you know, there's going to be something a little
- 17:40Speaker 2: weird at the end of that season, but don't overreact.
- 17:42Speaker 2: It's just for dramatic effect. At the end of that.
- 17:46Speaker 2: At the end of that at the end of that
- 17:47Speaker 2: first episode, in front of all of my friends and family,
- 17:49Speaker 2: they did a show all of what to expect to come.
- 17:53Speaker 2: They showed an ambulance picked me up, and they put
- 17:55Speaker 2: bandages on my wrist like I slit my wrist, like
- 17:57Speaker 2: I was suicidal over some girl. And that was in
- 17:59Speaker 2: front of my entire family. They didn't know that it
- 18:03Speaker 2: was a tattoo. You know, what I mean, there's certain
- 18:06Speaker 2: things that they didn't play kidd on. They do that
- 18:08Speaker 2: to a lot of people. That hurts a lot of people,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and that's not cool. And when you do that, it
- 18:14Speaker 2: takes a toll on a lot of people psychologically and mentally,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and some people don't know how to deal with that
- 18:19Speaker 2: or compartmentalize that. And I think that's a really other
- 18:22Speaker 2: light that needs to be Shawn shine on. Because you know,
- 18:26Speaker 2: we all watched the show Unreal that I call it
- 18:30Speaker 2: a documentary because we know that all those things, the
- 18:32Speaker 2: relationships with producers and cast members, I watched, it happened.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I watched all these things. Now that show happened for
- 18:38Speaker 2: a reason. Unreal is as real as the Bacher gets.
- 18:42Speaker 2: It's as real as it gets the things that watch it.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Where it came from somewhere. And honestly, I related with
- 18:49Speaker 2: so much stuff on that show, like on a deep level,
- 18:52Speaker 2: Like I really, I tell people, you're gonna know what
- 18:55Speaker 2: the Bacher's like watch Unreal. That was my experience. I
- 18:59Speaker 2: chose to take the high road and have fun and
- 19:02Speaker 2: enjoy it to the best that I could. But I
- 19:04Speaker 2: didn't know that I was being manipulated and gaslated to
- 19:06Speaker 2: look crazy, to sing songs, to get a tattoo. I'd
- 19:09Speaker 2: never get a tattoo for a girl. Everyone comes up
- 19:10Speaker 2: to me, you know what. They asked me, Hey, I
- 19:12Speaker 2: want to see Ali's name. I never got Ali's name
- 19:14Speaker 2: on my arm. It's a garden and protect hard badge,
- 19:17Speaker 2: that's all. That's what this is. It's biblical for my grandma.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I even said that on the show. I said, I didn't.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I'm like, I got this tattoo to represent my belief
- 19:25Speaker 2: and guarding protect the future wife in my life. Do
- 19:28Speaker 2: I think that's you? No, they didn't play that part,
- 19:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean. They just wanted to play
- 19:33Speaker 2: what they wanted to play to make me look foolish,
- 19:35Speaker 2: and they did that, you know. And I think it's
- 19:38Speaker 2: been a long ten years to be able to be
- 19:40Speaker 2: open and honest about those moments that were taking advantage
- 19:44Speaker 2: of my cheesiness. And my hope is romanticness, right. I
- 19:47Speaker 2: love big. I have a huge heart. I do a
- 19:48Speaker 2: lot of things for my community, like I you know,
- 19:51Speaker 2: I'm a big in the wellness and health and that's
- 19:53Speaker 2: that's my whole goals is to help with autism with
- 19:56Speaker 2: my son, Like I have goals and bigger dreams, and
- 19:59Speaker 2: it took a long time to get to where I
- 20:01Speaker 2: am met today, to let go of a lot of
- 20:03Speaker 2: things that happened to me over the course of being
- 20:05Speaker 2: on TV, being on the Bachelorette, being on the Bachelor,
- 20:08Speaker 2: pat you know, having a relationship, being under scrutiny with Vienna,
- 20:11Speaker 2: my entire relationship being imploded online, you know, on TV.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You know, I've been through some things that people will
- 20:18Speaker 2: never understand, and I'll never forget the first episode that
- 20:21Speaker 2: I was embarrassed in front of my family when they
- 20:24Speaker 2: made it look like I was cutting myself. How terrible
- 20:27Speaker 2: is that? Who does that? And then when I called
- 20:31Speaker 2: the producer and I want to say his name so bad.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I called him and said, why would you do that
- 20:36Speaker 2: to me? Why would you make it look like I'm crazy?
- 20:38Speaker 2: And then I'm gonna kill myself. Do you know what kind
- 20:41Speaker 2: of message that sends to other people? You're literally affirming suicide.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Shame on you. He said, Oh, no, that's not what
- 20:47Speaker 2: it is, Casey, No, we would never do that. Do
- 20:49Speaker 2: you just trust me. It's all gonna be okay. You're
- 20:51Speaker 2: gonna really look good in this situation. You're gonna come
- 20:53Speaker 2: off looking like a crystal clear great person. That's what
- 20:56Speaker 2: they did to me. The tattoo was my negotiation because
- 21:00Speaker 2: I wanted to stay longer so I can get more exposure,
- 21:02Speaker 2: so I could eventually someday use this as a platform
- 21:05Speaker 2: for stuff like autism, so I can use it for
- 21:08Speaker 2: a good for a better, better, better being, you know,
- 21:10Speaker 2: for for a better world, you know, not for gas
- 21:13Speaker 2: line and manipulation and things like that, you know. And
- 21:15Speaker 2: that's what I did. I literally told them, you want
- 21:17Speaker 2: me to get this tattoo. Cool, they took me to it.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I'm not going to tell you all the other of
- 21:22Speaker 2: the other things that came into it, but yes, a
- 21:23Speaker 2: part of that diego was me staying longer and being
- 21:26Speaker 2: able to go to Iceland and be able to make
- 21:27Speaker 2: it that long. There's no way that Ali wanted me
- 21:29Speaker 2: to stay and I stayed. You know what I mean,
- 21:31Speaker 2: She'll tell you there's no way. I mean. I came
- 21:34Speaker 2: off so cheesy, and because that was I was being
- 21:37Speaker 2: encouraged to say I want to guard and protect your
- 21:39Speaker 2: heart so much, I came off as unauthentic and that's
- 21:42Speaker 2: not who I am. And so Ali didn't get to
- 21:44Speaker 2: even see the real real version of me, which sucks too.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, But I feel like my global worldview
- 21:54Speaker 1: is that everything happens for a reason. And I assume,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and we'll get into this, that you're you have a
- 22:04Speaker 1: very happy life with your wife and your kids, and
- 22:07Speaker 1: and you wouldn't want to change anything and do anything
- 22:10Speaker 1: different because you know what I mean.
- 22:11Speaker 2: It all goes back to what I said that being
- 22:13Speaker 2: on this show taught me an education of how to
- 22:15Speaker 2: be a good man, to be a good dad, to
- 22:17Speaker 2: be a good husband, you know, and to and to
- 22:19Speaker 2: and to lead my family, to lead like Jesus and
- 22:22Speaker 2: guide my family to a good, happy marriage, a good
- 22:25Speaker 2: happy life, and to raise my son and to raise
- 22:27Speaker 2: my new beautiful daughter. You know. That's that's all that
- 22:30Speaker 2: I care about in this world. And that's all that
- 22:32Speaker 2: I've ever wanted, you know. And going through that experience,
- 22:36Speaker 2: it taught me like there there is a lot of
- 22:38Speaker 2: other craziness in this world. And and and no matter
- 22:41Speaker 2: what happens, no matter what I go through, no matter
- 22:44Speaker 2: what I do, you have to be authentic. You don't
- 22:47Speaker 2: need to exaggerate, you don't need to play kate things,
- 22:49Speaker 2: you don't need to be something you're not. You don't
- 22:51Speaker 2: need to be somebody you're not. And I really tried
- 22:53Speaker 2: to be someone that I wasn't going through that show,
- 22:55Speaker 2: and it transpired throughout Bachelor Pad, I even through dating Vienna.
- 22:59Speaker 2: You know, we had a great relationship when it was
- 23:02Speaker 2: just us, but outside of that, it was just it
- 23:04Speaker 2: was just dirty. It was just exposed. Everything was you know,
- 23:07Speaker 2: on highlights, you know, and that's not something that I'm
- 23:10Speaker 2: good with, you know. And the best thing that I
- 23:12Speaker 2: did was finally part ways and we separated and she
- 23:15Speaker 2: got to go home and heal, and I got to
- 23:17Speaker 2: go home and heal, you know, from the show, you know,
- 23:19Speaker 2: from traumas of the being on TV and the production
- 23:23Speaker 2: and the mind manipulation that happens on there. I mean,
- 23:25Speaker 2: there's just so much, you know, you don't know what's
- 23:27Speaker 2: real and what's not.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Sometimes, going back to the tattoo, I am so enjoying
- 23:43Speaker 1: talking to you because I feel like it's just seriously,
- 23:46Speaker 1: I feel like so much of the show is, you know,
- 23:53Speaker 1: just what we're seeing and we're told certain things. And
- 23:55Speaker 1: I've always thought you can't put words in someone's mouth,
- 23:59Speaker 1: but obviously you can show, you know, you take things
- 24:02Speaker 1: out of context whatever, or not into the entire story. Yeah,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and it seems like the entire story wasn't shown for
- 24:08Speaker 1: you because the garden protect your Heart was something that
- 24:12Speaker 1: your grandma taught you from a very it seems like
- 24:14Speaker 1: from a very young age. It's not something that you
- 24:17Speaker 1: just thought, I'm gonna say this for Ali just to
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know. It's not out of the blue, and you've
- 24:24Speaker 1: got a tattoo because it was special to you. Do
- 24:28Speaker 1: you just chose to do it in that moment? Can
- 24:30Speaker 1: you take me to the moment of like when the
- 24:33Speaker 1: tattooed conversation came up? And how because because in my
- 24:38Speaker 1: experience on the show, it's not like you can leave
- 24:41Speaker 1: and go like have little mini adventures, you know.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah right.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I know, right, So tell me about that.
- 24:49Speaker 2: All right. So yeah, so you know, at this point
- 24:51Speaker 2: of the show, I blow my date right with with Ali.
- 24:56Speaker 2: You know, I sing tour right. So the story goes
- 24:58Speaker 2: and so now, yeah, producer, who is pretty pretty much
- 25:02Speaker 2: as signed to me at this point, you know, starts
- 25:04Speaker 2: telling me you need to make a big splash, man,
- 25:06Speaker 2: we got to do something special. I'm looking at him like,
- 25:08Speaker 2: I know what you're doing. Just tell me what you
- 25:10Speaker 2: think I should do like that. That's how the conversation
- 25:13Speaker 2: went after a couple of shots of you know, whiskey
- 25:16Speaker 2: as usual. You know what I mean. There's no im
- 25:20Speaker 2: without a drink, right, I mean, there's no such thing
- 25:22Speaker 2: as an im without a drink. So I mean we
- 25:24Speaker 2: made that it was for me.
- 25:26Speaker 1: There was for me, but that you were.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Smarter than I was. Yeah, I was. I was the nerd,
- 25:31Speaker 2: you know, that was trying to be the cool guy,
- 25:32Speaker 2: you know to the producers, you know, and they placated that,
- 25:35Speaker 2: you know what I mean, they knew what to do
- 25:36Speaker 2: with that. So, you know, he tells me, what if
- 25:38Speaker 2: you got a tattoo. Mind, you have no tattoos at
- 25:41Speaker 2: this point, zero tattoos. Frowned upon by my grandma, frowned
- 25:44Speaker 2: upon by my mom, no tattoos. I'm never getting a
- 25:47Speaker 2: tattooed type of guy. So I'm sending them thinking to myself,
- 25:50Speaker 2: like I'm going to get a tattoo. I would never
- 25:52Speaker 2: get a tattoo. Okay, well, listen, here's the deal. I
- 25:56Speaker 2: believe that I'm going to guard and protect the heart
- 26:00Speaker 2: of my future wife, and it's not Ali, but someone
- 26:05Speaker 2: else out there. Might be watching this and they might
- 26:07Speaker 2: think my cheesiness is cute, and that woman will appreciate
- 26:11Speaker 2: my tattoo. And that's why I got that tattoo. So
- 26:13Speaker 2: I said, Okay, I'm going to get the tattoo, but
- 26:16Speaker 2: under a couple of conditions. Number one, you're gonna go out.
- 26:20Speaker 2: You're gonna I don't, I can't. I don't want to
- 26:21Speaker 2: say most other things. But they took me to a
- 26:23Speaker 2: really nice steak dinner. They treated me to all kinds
- 26:26Speaker 2: of nice and great things. They took me to multiple
- 26:28Speaker 2: places in Manhattan, New York. You know what I mean. Like,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I'm out there, I'm doing the dang things.
- 26:32Speaker 1: This is just you, not any of the others.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Me and my producer. Okay, this is me and my producer.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Did was anyone else doing? Having little dates? Not dates obviously,
- 26:44Speaker 1: but okay, just get all stuck in the room.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I was stuck in the hotel and I'm out doing this,
- 26:50Speaker 2: you know. And I say, I and I and I
- 26:52Speaker 2: do not get voted off. And I said, I specifically
- 26:55Speaker 2: use that as a bargaining chip. I said, you can.
- 26:58Speaker 2: You can tell her however she wants to do it.
- 27:00Speaker 2: You can make it dramatic, but I do not get
- 27:02Speaker 2: voted off tonight. Yeah deal, whoa I mean because it
- 27:08Speaker 2: means everything to me and my wife. Now my wife's
- 27:11Speaker 2: in my anniversary date is on my tattoo.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Oh I love that you added that.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Ah.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I was just going to ask you, how do you feel?
- 27:19Speaker 1: Because it's not like it's on your back, it's on
- 27:22Speaker 1: your wrist, so you see it all the time. How
- 27:25Speaker 1: do you You've mentioned PTSD, but when you look at
- 27:29Speaker 1: it now you've been able to change it into something
- 27:32Speaker 1: you know, super positive.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Again, this memory will always be of me and mine
- 27:36Speaker 2: and my grandma and my mom and my wife and
- 27:39Speaker 2: all the things that mean special and close and dear
- 27:41Speaker 2: to my heart. That's all that this is. This will
- 27:43Speaker 2: always be a remembrance of that. There's no name, there's
- 27:45Speaker 2: no anything. It's always been this. It's never changed. Okay again,
- 27:49Speaker 2: it's always been a learning experience of saying, if I'm
- 27:52Speaker 2: going to do this, I'm going to enjoy it and
- 27:53Speaker 2: I'm going to try and take the best positive experience
- 27:55Speaker 2: from this that I can. And so that's what was
- 27:57Speaker 2: presented to me, and I said, Okay, it's rock and roll.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I think I can put a tattoo on for my
- 28:03Speaker 2: future wife someday, and you know, and then we had
- 28:06Speaker 2: and then I had. Then we had to negotiate how
- 28:08Speaker 2: I was going to present it to Ali right and
- 28:10Speaker 2: how I was going to show her that the tattoo,
- 28:12Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And I said, I didn't
- 28:14Speaker 2: want to do it. I actually didn't even want to
- 28:16Speaker 2: talk about it. I never brought it up. I tried
- 28:17Speaker 2: to hide it until we got to the glacier. And
- 28:19Speaker 2: once we got to that glacier, yeah, she goes, so
- 28:21Speaker 2: I heard you got a tattoo. I was like, oh,
- 28:24Speaker 2: of course, of course, and they I wasn't even going
- 28:27Speaker 2: to show her. So then I finally said okay. So
- 28:29Speaker 2: then I rolled my sleeve and I say, yeah, I go,
- 28:31Speaker 2: I did. I got a tattoo. And you know, I
- 28:34Speaker 2: did it because I want to guard and protect the
- 28:35Speaker 2: heart of my future wife, whoever that may be, someday.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And that was our conversation. And I knew at that
- 28:42Speaker 2: point that I was going to get left on that
- 28:44Speaker 2: glacier so dramatically, and so I just I just I
- 28:48Speaker 2: just went with it. And I stood there in the
- 28:51Speaker 2: middle of that iceberg, knowing that I was going to
- 28:54Speaker 2: look so silly. I was looking at the helicopter and
- 28:56Speaker 2: all I could think about was I gotta seriously ride
- 28:59Speaker 2: the snowmobile back.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Oh my god, That's what I was gonna ask you too.
- 29:06Speaker 1: How do you get out of there? And how long
- 29:08Speaker 1: were you standing there, like just just by yourself.
- 29:11Speaker 2: You know as well as I do? No less than
- 29:13Speaker 2: five seconds? You know what I mean? It was It
- 29:15Speaker 2: was for dramatic effect. I'm musting. They're watching the helicopter
- 29:18Speaker 2: go off, and I'm just pissed because I'm not taking
- 29:20Speaker 2: the helicopter back. That's that's all I could think about,
- 29:23Speaker 2: because I get car sickness. Right I'm thinking, I gotta
- 29:25Speaker 2: go through all these mountains and glaciers on a freaking
- 29:27Speaker 2: snowmobile right now, I'm gonna get sick and then they're
- 29:29Speaker 2: gonna put that on camera and they're gonna do something
- 29:31Speaker 2: with that too, you know.
- 29:33Speaker 1: What. The Actually I would feel the opposite. I would
- 29:37Speaker 1: feel like the helicopter would give me motion sickness, not
- 29:40Speaker 1: the snowmobile.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Convenience and time, Get me the heck out of get
- 29:44Speaker 2: me back to the hotel. And by the way, by
- 29:47Speaker 2: the way, one other one in my handlers that night,
- 29:50Speaker 2: so we were in Iceland, and I mean, I'm no,
- 29:54Speaker 2: I'm going home. The next day we go out, we
- 29:56Speaker 2: go out to the club. I mean, Iceland is full
- 29:58Speaker 2: of beautiful people. By word, I got all these girls
- 30:02Speaker 2: coming up to me. I mean it is hilarious because
- 30:04Speaker 2: I'm not even supposed to be in public and I'm
- 30:06Speaker 2: literally in Iceland partying with Iceland just people. Like it
- 30:11Speaker 2: was probably the most by myself with my handler and
- 30:14Speaker 2: we're just drinking out there. This is the night I get,
- 30:16Speaker 2: I get left in Iceland. I'm just out partying, like
- 30:18Speaker 2: this was my last night. Like, no sadness, you know,
- 30:20Speaker 2: it wasn't like a heartbreak and didn't get me becazos.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I already knew what was going to happen, you know
- 30:24Speaker 2: what I mean. So it wasn't like YA was sad
- 30:26Speaker 2: or anything. Yeah I was. I was sad that the
- 30:28Speaker 2: opportunity passed me by to actually really have a good,
- 30:31Speaker 2: valid conversation with Ali, because if she got to meet
- 30:33Speaker 2: the real me, I think that she would have been
- 30:35Speaker 2: things could have been different on that show. But again,
- 30:37Speaker 2: like you said, everything happens for a reason, and I like,
- 30:42Speaker 2: I love that all the things I learned from that
- 30:44Speaker 2: because I know how to be a good husband.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Now.
- 30:46Speaker 2: You know, it might have taken me a long time,
- 30:47Speaker 2: you know what I mean, But at this point of
- 30:49Speaker 2: my life, I know how to be a good dad,
- 30:51Speaker 2: I know how to be a good husband. I know'd
- 30:52Speaker 2: be a good business owner. I know how to be
- 30:54Speaker 2: a good person. And I think going through all those
- 30:56Speaker 2: things helped me understand through trauma of my own that
- 30:59Speaker 2: I don't have to be somebody that I'm not. I
- 31:01Speaker 2: don't have to be this big TV persona. You know
- 31:03Speaker 2: what the greatest part of my day is today that
- 31:06Speaker 2: when I walk outside, I don't get recognized as the
- 31:08Speaker 2: bachelor Kay anymore. In my own hometown. I get recognized
- 31:11Speaker 2: as the dad that's advocating for autism for his son.
- 31:14Speaker 2: That's what I get recognized for. And that means more
- 31:17Speaker 2: to me than I can even explain to you.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I can't even imagine. I yes, that that is amazing.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Have you talked to Allie or run into her since
- 31:27Speaker 1: the show?
- 31:28Speaker 2: So it's you know, I really wanted to have a
- 31:31Speaker 2: conversation with her after the whole thing is Me and
- 31:34Speaker 2: Roberto were tight. I talked to Roberto rout Lampton's my
- 31:36Speaker 2: boy Chris.
- 31:37Speaker 1: We just had Chris Lampton on, actually we did, we did.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I still reach out talked to him sometimes. He's a
- 31:42Speaker 2: great dad, great man. That's another really good guy. Again.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Our season had so many good dudes on that show,
- 31:48Speaker 2: like you know, like Frank from Craig Roberto, I mean,
- 31:51Speaker 2: just great people. You know. I still follow all these guys,
- 31:54Speaker 2: you know, love it. But that's but that was the
- 31:57Speaker 2: cool part of being a part of the show is
- 31:59Speaker 2: the relations ships that I did build and people that
- 32:02Speaker 2: knew knew who I was deep to my core, you know,
- 32:05Speaker 2: and and accepted me for that because I wasn't always
- 32:07Speaker 2: you know, authentic, you know what I mean. I was
- 32:09Speaker 2: always trying to be something that I wasn't for some
- 32:11Speaker 2: unknown reason, you know. And I think, I think, I think,
- 32:15Speaker 2: if I'm being honest, it was a lot of the production.
- 32:17Speaker 2: You know, it really gave me the ego. They made me,
- 32:19Speaker 2: they pumped up my my ego, and they made me
- 32:21Speaker 2: feel like I was going to be bigger than what
- 32:23Speaker 2: I was, you know, and I really wasn't. I was
- 32:26Speaker 2: just a normal dude that was looking for love on
- 32:27Speaker 2: a TV show and didn't.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Last you know, yeah, right right, But you you didn't
- 32:33Speaker 1: answer the question did did you have you run into
- 32:36Speaker 1: Eli or.
- 32:39Speaker 2: With the guy. So when I was with Vienna, we
- 32:42Speaker 2: we actually did an appearance in San Diego and Kipton
- 32:46Speaker 2: and Tenley were there, and uh, you know, Kipton was
- 32:48Speaker 2: always my boy, and I always loved Tenley. Actually I
- 32:50Speaker 2: actually went on the show for Tenley I love. Ironically,
- 32:55Speaker 2: I went on the show thinking it was Tenley the
- 32:57Speaker 2: whole time. Really, I got Ali and ended up with Vienna.
- 33:05Speaker 2: That is that is literally the truth. That is crazy. Yeah,
- 33:08Speaker 2: so crazy.
- 33:10Speaker 1: So you saw her in San Diego.
- 33:11Speaker 2: We saw her in San Diego with Kipton and Tinley.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I said, what up? I wanted up? I wanted to
- 33:16Speaker 2: try and spark a conversation, but she wasn't having it. Again,
- 33:20Speaker 2: I don't know. I also feel like production can manipulate
- 33:24Speaker 2: certain things and making you even think that someone is
- 33:28Speaker 2: what they aren't either, you know what I mean. And
- 33:30Speaker 2: placating my emotions and my cheesiness to make me sing
- 33:32Speaker 2: a song and to make me do these things to
- 33:34Speaker 2: Ali obviously seems very unauthentic to her, So she probably
- 33:38Speaker 2: thought that I was just an unauthentic dude. So I
- 33:40Speaker 2: don't blame her for not talking to me, I really
- 33:43Speaker 2: just want to have a conversation to get some truth.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I wanted to understand, like, hey, so, like, what was
- 33:49Speaker 2: the reality of that for you? I was more curious
- 33:51Speaker 2: about her side of things, you know, because when we
- 33:54Speaker 2: were trying to have conversations, we didn't get to have
- 33:56Speaker 2: even five minutes alone. We were in a bar, when
- 33:59Speaker 2: we were waiting in the middle of freaking New York
- 34:03Speaker 2: dive bar where no one else is. She's got her producer,
- 34:06Speaker 2: She's sitting on the other side of the bar. I'm
- 34:07Speaker 2: on the other side of the bar, and we can't
- 34:08Speaker 2: talk to each other because we're not supposed to save
- 34:11Speaker 2: it for the cameras. I'm like, this is like, oh,
- 34:13Speaker 2: I can't come on. Yeah, you know, and that's hard.
- 34:17Speaker 2: That's hard to build a relationship or even a friendship,
- 34:19Speaker 2: you know with that. So again I don't blame Ali.
- 34:21Speaker 2: She she wasn't really nice to me, But again, she
- 34:23Speaker 2: probably thinks a certain way about me, and I can't
- 34:25Speaker 2: blame her for that.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Okay, So you went on Bachelor Pad. Did
- 34:43Speaker 1: the producers ever talk to you about I'm assuming no,
- 34:47Speaker 1: considering what you've what you've told me today, But did
- 34:51Speaker 1: they ever talk to you about being a bachelor.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Of course, Oh of course that was that was a
- 34:56Speaker 2: dangling care Oh my god, what do you How do
- 34:59Speaker 2: you think they got me to I do some of
- 35:00Speaker 2: the things that I wanted to do.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I see, I see, And.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'm sure that that's enticed to a lot of other
- 35:07Speaker 2: other people too. Oh you know this, we'll offer the
- 35:09Speaker 2: bachelor as a carrot and then we'll see what he's
- 35:11Speaker 2: going to do for it, or we're gonna see how
- 35:13Speaker 2: we're gonna react, or we're gonna see the ratings, you
- 35:15Speaker 2: know what I mean, which I would have blew the
- 35:17Speaker 2: ratings off the roof if I was a bachelor. Let's
- 35:18Speaker 2: just be honest, Just be honest. I'd be cheesy. I'd
- 35:21Speaker 2: have been super dramatic, you know what. I've been in
- 35:24Speaker 2: a super fun at that point in my life. But
- 35:26Speaker 2: you know, ironically, I I they did. But I was
- 35:29Speaker 2: already with Vienna at that point, because like I said,
- 35:32Speaker 2: we started like me and a couple of the boys,
- 35:34Speaker 2: like I had gea come out. Gee, I had friends.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I had people from the show. I had so many
- 35:39Speaker 2: friends that were so close to me, and we did
- 35:41Speaker 2: appearances and we did fun shows. We just traveled and
- 35:44Speaker 2: we started doing like reunions, and then the Bachelor Nation
- 35:48Speaker 2: they saw that and they wanted more of that because
- 35:50Speaker 2: they saw a group of people that weren't selected but
- 35:53Speaker 2: are still trying to find love. You know, well, it's
- 35:56Speaker 2: just a bunch of hookups anyways at that point of
- 35:58Speaker 2: everyone's life, you know, me, it was just a bunch
- 36:01Speaker 2: of reunion hookups and it was fun. But that is
- 36:03Speaker 2: where I eventually met Vienna. And you know, I met
- 36:06Speaker 2: Vienna in New York, and you know, it was an
- 36:10Speaker 2: instant for me. You know, I really was drawn to
- 36:12Speaker 2: her because of her persona. Yeah, you know, she just
- 36:15Speaker 2: had this this strong confidence about her. But that night
- 36:19Speaker 2: she was broken and I definitely am a healer, fix
- 36:23Speaker 2: your type person, and I saw that she was hurting
- 36:24Speaker 2: and I just wanted to help her. And so we
- 36:26Speaker 2: had like a conversation for like five hours at night,
- 36:29Speaker 2: you know, and then she invited me to come out
- 36:31Speaker 2: to LA the next weekend and we didn't spend another
- 36:33Speaker 2: day apart for a little bit until the show. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 2: and then the show is when everything just kind of
- 36:38Speaker 2: went crazy. You know that that that in itself was
- 36:43Speaker 2: a whole unique experience because I knew what to expect
- 36:47Speaker 2: this time, so I prepared myself.
- 36:52Speaker 1: You had experience. How did it go crazy?
- 36:55Speaker 2: Number one, my producer told me verbatim, Jake will not
- 36:59Speaker 2: be on the show, and I said, I know that, Yeah,
- 37:02Speaker 2: I'm bachelor pad and because that's that was Vienna's ex right,
- 37:05Speaker 2: And I was still like very very you know, close
- 37:09Speaker 2: to the date of time and everything. So I didn't
- 37:13Speaker 2: really think too much of it at first. I didn't care.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I just didn't want the drama of it, you know,
- 37:17Speaker 2: And I don't I didn't like that. I knew what
- 37:19Speaker 2: they were going to do if they did bring him
- 37:21Speaker 2: on the show. Well, of course, day one, there comes
- 37:24Speaker 2: Jake Pavelka, you know what I mean. And I've already
- 37:26Speaker 2: heard things, right, They've already put things in my head
- 37:29Speaker 2: like he's angry to her, he's Maddie. They've shown me video,
- 37:32Speaker 2: They've made me hate Jake at this point, you know
- 37:35Speaker 2: what I mean. And and and I think Vienna actually
- 37:38Speaker 2: had experienced some certain things. I don't know. I don't
- 37:40Speaker 2: to talk for her, but it was insinuated to me
- 37:43Speaker 2: that there that he was just a bad guy. But
- 37:45Speaker 2: he wasn't. He wasn't. Again, This was all produced in
- 37:48Speaker 2: my head to create that drama the second I see him,
- 37:52Speaker 2: you know, to build up that animosity for me. And so,
- 37:55Speaker 2: you know, he comes on the show and I'm upset,
- 37:57Speaker 2: I'm angry. I'm like, okay, of course, and and our
- 37:59Speaker 2: confrontation are are hostile, which they didn't even need to
- 38:02Speaker 2: be because I'm not a hostile guy, you know, And
- 38:04Speaker 2: so they placated that. But then I but then I
- 38:07Speaker 2: instantly came back to reality and I realized what was
- 38:10Speaker 2: going on. And so then I said, Okay, I need
- 38:11Speaker 2: to be friends with all these people, because these people
- 38:13Speaker 2: are good people and they're not gonna they're not gonna
- 38:16Speaker 2: gaslight me, manipulate me. They're here to They're here to
- 38:18Speaker 2: play a game and win some money and win some
- 38:19Speaker 2: challenges and have some fun and maybe find love doing
- 38:21Speaker 2: that too. And I ended up becoming really really close
- 38:25Speaker 2: friends with all of those people, especially Chia. And that's
- 38:29Speaker 2: a whole different conversation. But you know, everyone on that show,
- 38:33Speaker 2: from Michelle money Uh to all the guys I mean,
- 38:35Speaker 2: Peter Stan, I mean, it's just crazy because I still
- 38:37Speaker 2: follow everyone from the Bachelor Pad and that was such
- 38:40Speaker 2: a close group regardless of the drama that happened on
- 38:44Speaker 2: that show. We were a close group. Bachelor Pad two
- 38:46Speaker 2: was a season to never forget. And I say that
- 38:49Speaker 2: because of the emotions of raw, real friendships that were
- 38:51Speaker 2: built on that show. And I say that because a
- 38:55Speaker 2: lot of the friendships were also manipulated and misconstrued and
- 38:58Speaker 2: trying to create drama within the actual show to make
- 39:00Speaker 2: it a dramatic show, you know what I mean. Like everyone,
- 39:05Speaker 2: it's funny because everyone came to me and told me, Hey,
- 39:07Speaker 2: production is really trying to get us to vote for you, Casey,
- 39:10Speaker 2: and I laughed. I'm like, I knew that this was
- 39:12Speaker 2: going to happen. They want to get Jake and viennap
- 39:14Speaker 2: by themselves. They want they want to get Jake back,
- 39:16Speaker 2: and that's going to create more of a storyline than
- 39:18Speaker 2: me being on the show for the entirety of the show.
- 39:21Speaker 2: And I saw the war they wanted me off see
- 39:24Speaker 2: episode one, and I didn't let that happen. And thankfully,
- 39:27Speaker 2: because of the amazing people on that show that voted
- 39:31Speaker 2: for Jake and did not vote for me, you know,
- 39:33Speaker 2: kept me on that show. And I think that's the
- 39:35Speaker 2: real reason why I was able to stay on that show.
- 39:38Speaker 2: So the Bachelor Pad was an incredible experience with the
- 39:42Speaker 2: relationships that I built and the people that were on
- 39:44Speaker 2: there are very special people to me and they will.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I'll never forget that show. And yeah, that was real
- 39:51Speaker 2: because I was able to kind of be myself with
- 39:53Speaker 2: them and I didn't care about production because I felt
- 39:55Speaker 2: like the Bachelor Pad cast, the people there, they had
- 39:58Speaker 2: my best interests, unlike the production.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Okay, I'd love to hear about life now. Uh, you
- 40:07Speaker 1: are happily married with two cutie pie kiddos. Yes, tell
- 40:12Speaker 1: me about your family, life, your business, your nonprofit, all
- 40:18Speaker 1: all of the above.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Well, thank you, absolutely so. I'm married to my wife, Amanda.
- 40:23Speaker 2: She is incredible. She tolerates all the things, you know
- 40:26Speaker 2: what I mean. She puts up with my craziness and
- 40:28Speaker 2: and my passion, you know, because I'm a passionate guy,
- 40:30Speaker 2: and she she you know, she loves my cheesiness to
- 40:32Speaker 2: an extent I can only I can only pour it
- 40:34Speaker 2: on so much. But you know, she's been amazing to
- 40:36Speaker 2: me and an amazing partner in my business, and the
- 40:39Speaker 2: things that I see from her every day as a
- 40:41Speaker 2: mom just make me fall in love with her more
- 40:43Speaker 2: and more every single day. The way that she is
- 40:45Speaker 2: with my son, the way that she's with my daughter,
- 40:47Speaker 2: you know, it's very special, especially because my my son,
- 40:50Speaker 2: he's five year old and he has non verbal autism.
- 40:53Speaker 2: So my wife and I, we actually own a wellness
- 40:55Speaker 2: facility UH in Clovis, California, where we do you know
- 40:58Speaker 2: one this treatments anything from you know them sell peptide therapy,
- 41:01Speaker 2: you know, IV therapy, vitamin therapy, very holistic approach. You know,
- 41:04Speaker 2: we diagnostically test people with with DEXA scans and blood
- 41:08Speaker 2: work so we can understand the body. We want to
- 41:10Speaker 2: value your body as an entirety, right. We want to
- 41:12Speaker 2: see what is defficient and if you're lacking vitamins or
- 41:14Speaker 2: minerals or nutrients, and we want to replace that naturally, okay,
- 41:18Speaker 2: And we can do that with all kinds of different things,
- 41:21Speaker 2: variations of vitamins and nutrients, injections, ivs and different things
- 41:25Speaker 2: like that, regenerative therapy, stem cell things like that that
- 41:28Speaker 2: we want to optimize our health and body. And so
- 41:30Speaker 2: we took that same approach and we are taking that
- 41:33Speaker 2: same approach for my nonprofit for autism. It's called Echos
- 41:36Speaker 2: for Autism ECHOS for Autism is a facility that actually
- 41:40Speaker 2: tests and neurologically, bio biologically feedback, gets biofeedback on these
- 41:45Speaker 2: babies to understand what is going on with their body
- 41:47Speaker 2: and how we can help heal them and how we
- 41:49Speaker 2: can eliminate inflammation from the brain and body that has
- 41:52Speaker 2: been incurred by environmental factors and much other things that
- 41:56Speaker 2: I can get into on a whole different day, but
- 41:58Speaker 2: right now we are actually seeing in credible results with
- 42:01Speaker 2: our autistic babies, and it's unbelievable because you know, no
- 42:04Speaker 2: one is really treating it the way that we are
- 42:06Speaker 2: are approaching it with testing and finding the biological approach
- 42:09Speaker 2: to understanding how we can how we can alleviate these
- 42:12Speaker 2: symptoms in the brain, and we are seeing incredible results.
- 42:16Speaker 2: One of my specialist everyone that's actually volunteering for my
- 42:18Speaker 2: nonprofit that actually all have kids with autism, one of
- 42:21Speaker 2: my specialists actually had a nonverbal child and that's now
- 42:25Speaker 2: speaking at seven years old. So we are onto some
- 42:27Speaker 2: groundbreaking and revolutionary things and I'm just very excited for
- 42:30Speaker 2: that because ACOS for Autism, I think is going to
- 42:34Speaker 2: revolutionize healthcare.
- 42:36Speaker 1: That's amazing. Could you share the websites. Please.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Yeah, So ACOS for Autism AKOS the lever the number
- 42:44Speaker 2: four Autism dot org. You can definitely donate on there
- 42:48Speaker 2: because it's all the all the proceeds go to the
- 42:50Speaker 2: treatments of our kids. I do not charge the families.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Everything that I do, I do complimentary because I know
- 42:55Speaker 2: how hard it is on these families. So all of
- 42:57Speaker 2: this is covered by us. And all the families that
- 43:00Speaker 2: I'm here get tested and treated for free. So pretty amazing.
- 43:03Speaker 2: There you can go to ACOS for Autism dot org.
- 43:05Speaker 2: We are looking for sponsors, donors, investors. We have so
- 43:08Speaker 2: much look forward to and to scale out. We are
- 43:10Speaker 2: so far ahead of the game. I will real quick say,
- 43:13Speaker 2: Akos it means cure.
- 43:15Speaker 1: I was wondering, thank you for saying that. I didn't
- 43:18Speaker 1: know where that came from.
- 43:19Speaker 2: So so you're my age, you're what thirty nine to
- 43:21Speaker 2: forty ish right, Trista Smarlo.
- 43:26Speaker 1: I love you.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I love you too. So since we looks and that's
- 43:30Speaker 2: that's that's we're always forever claiming. Do you remember the
- 43:32Speaker 2: movie The Cure? It was with Jared Jared Renfro and
- 43:38Speaker 2: another boy, and it's about a boy that's dying from cancer. Okay,
- 43:42Speaker 2: and he's he's being made fun of, he's being bullied,
- 43:45Speaker 2: he's being picked on at school. And so the neighbor
- 43:48Speaker 2: sees him, I buy the fence in the backyard one day,
- 43:50Speaker 2: and he goes over to talk to him and he says, hey,
- 43:52Speaker 2: so what's going on? And he finds out that this
- 43:54Speaker 2: young boy is dying from cancer. So this his new
- 43:58Speaker 2: friend is now goes off and he starts finding all
- 44:00Speaker 2: these plants, these potions, these powders. He's searching in magazines.
- 44:04Speaker 2: He's trying to find mixed mustard and oils and things
- 44:06Speaker 2: to try and find a cure for this for his
- 44:08Speaker 2: new friend, so that he can he can live a
- 44:10Speaker 2: good life with his new friend. Well, they go through
- 44:13Speaker 2: a bunch of obstacles and trials and tribulations throughout throughout
- 44:15Speaker 2: the years. Well the boy only had three months, but
- 44:17Speaker 2: he ends up living three years. He still dies, But
- 44:20Speaker 2: the moral of the story is that that boy gave
- 44:23Speaker 2: him that cure, and he gave him an unconditional love
- 44:28Speaker 2: and an unconditional friendship that gave him a better quality
- 44:31Speaker 2: of life. Now, I know that people mock at the
- 44:34Speaker 2: name cure, but a cure doesn't have to come from
- 44:37Speaker 2: a needle, it doesn't have to come from a poison,
- 44:38Speaker 2: it doesn't have to come from anything else. It could
- 44:40Speaker 2: come from unconditional love from a strong dad that wants
- 44:44Speaker 2: to help heal his son. And that is all that
- 44:45Speaker 2: I am trying to do for our community of autistic babies.
- 44:49Speaker 2: And it can and it will be done. And so
- 44:51Speaker 2: that's why I named it Echoes for Autism.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Okay, we're going to bring it up to back to
- 44:55Speaker 1: some laughter and joy. There's joy that's not joy and
- 45:00Speaker 1: what you're doing. Okay, you said you would sing me
- 45:02Speaker 1: a song.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Oh my god, oh man, I really put myself on
- 45:07Speaker 2: the spot there.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Okay, you said, you said, you said, so you can
- 45:14Speaker 1: choose any topic. Maybe Bachelor Pad because you had such
- 45:18Speaker 1: great time there and we are a bachelor related podcast.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Why do we go there? Can you sing me a
- 45:23Speaker 1: song about Bachelor Pad?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Okay? Wow, okay, yeah, this is going to be awkward,
- 45:30Speaker 2: I love it.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Or or even better, could you sing a song about
- 45:36Speaker 1: being an og like a theme song for the almost
- 45:39Speaker 1: famous Ogs?
- 45:40Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, let me let me think about that. Let's see.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Okay, okay, okay, you're not on the spot at all.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I know. I'm like, how do I need a melody?
- 45:49Speaker 2: I need like a beat or something, you know what
- 45:50Speaker 2: I mean? I need like, oh god, I am not
- 45:53Speaker 2: bad person. Yeah I know. I see I'm not beat box.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah you know. See now we're put on the spot here.
- 45:58Speaker 2: This is what happens when you just got to go
- 46:00Speaker 2: win something, you know. Let's see here, all right, so
- 46:05Speaker 2: we'll just wing something, all right. So I don't even know.
- 46:08Speaker 2: So I'm sitting here saying on the show was trist
- 46:10Speaker 2: to Sutter wishing I had a piece of toast and
- 46:13Speaker 2: garlic butter, because when I'm on the show, like a
- 46:16Speaker 2: oh gee, I don't know what to sing because my
- 46:20Speaker 2: name is Casey. I guess I didn't know it. I
- 46:25Speaker 2: don't even know I'm singing a song like I'm singing
- 46:27Speaker 2: to my daughter. I don't even know.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I love it.
- 46:33Speaker 2: You got me all red like, because I got people
- 46:35Speaker 2: in here staring at me too, right now. So you
- 46:36Speaker 2: got me really on the spot, right, I got you. Yeah.
- 46:39Speaker 2: I got executive director of my nonprofits. She's helping me
- 46:41Speaker 2: run all at my studio, and she's over here dying
- 46:46Speaker 2: laughing at me right now, dude, like this is Yeah,
- 46:49Speaker 2: she's not even making an eye contact because I'm sweating,
- 46:51Speaker 2: though I'm profusely sweating.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I'm so sorry that we've made you sweat, but you
- 46:57Speaker 1: are the best.
- 46:58Speaker 2: You know. I don't care. It's it is what it is.
- 47:00Speaker 2: And if I actually thought of the song, I probably
- 47:03Speaker 2: could have came up with a better melody. But it's, hey, don't.
- 47:05Speaker 1: You know what, I don't care exactly. I feel like
- 47:09Speaker 1: as I get older, you just get to the point
- 47:11Speaker 1: where you're like, I just don't care, like you know what,
- 47:14Speaker 1: you can believe what you want to believe about me.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I'm going to live my life for me, and I
- 47:20Speaker 1: love that you're doing that. Well.
- 47:21Speaker 2: It took this show to learn that right, and it
- 47:24Speaker 2: took a lot, you know, because when and when that
- 47:27Speaker 2: stuff did come out, you know, about my show and
- 47:29Speaker 2: about the stuff that I had bandages and certain things
- 47:31Speaker 2: that were alluded to things that weren't actual truth. You know,
- 47:35Speaker 2: I got a lot of speculation. I got a lot
- 47:37Speaker 2: of nasty messages, I got a lot of online hate,
- 47:39Speaker 2: you know, I got a lot of speculation. I always
- 47:42Speaker 2: questioned myself, looking over my shoulder, is that person laughing
- 47:45Speaker 2: at me? Is that person laughing at me is that
- 47:48Speaker 2: person making fun of my song? You know, that was
- 47:50Speaker 2: a hard part of my life to compartmentalize ultimately until
- 47:53Speaker 2: I realized, I don't care. I don't care what they say,
- 47:57Speaker 2: I don't care what they think, because at the end
- 47:58Speaker 2: of the day, I'm going to help people get healthy.
- 48:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna help people get well. I'm gonna help people
- 48:04Speaker 2: with autism. I'm gonna help my child, I'm gonna help
- 48:06Speaker 2: my my daughter, I'm gonna help my wife, I'm gonna
- 48:08Speaker 2: help myself, I'm gonna help my family. And if anyone
- 48:10Speaker 2: has anything to say about that authenticity, then I really
- 48:14Speaker 2: don't care.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Love it. Thank you, Casey, Thank you. This has been
- 48:18Speaker 1: so enlightening. I loved reconnecting with you. I'm so happy
- 48:22Speaker 1: for you and your happiness. Thank you, Thank you for sharing.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Thank you for being on the Almost Famous Og podcast.
- 48:28Speaker 2: No thanks for having me. I enjoyed it. And thank
- 48:29Speaker 2: you for always being authentic as you. You are one
- 48:31Speaker 2: of the few ogs that truly are always who you are,
- 48:34Speaker 2: and I appreciate you for that. Trista, thank you, Thank you,
