- 1:49Yeah. So how was your week, sir? It was good week?
- 1:55Yeah, two weeks. I am on day thirteen in the mountain and it
- 2:01is interesting. I'm doing a lot of reading, a lot of research,
- 2:07a lot of exercising, all that good stuff. You know. It sounds
- 2:13like fun, burning wood, chopping wood. It snowed, it's rained the
- 2:21last two days, it's completely rained. So well I know of MS being
- 2:27live here on YouTube. It's been two weeks, and just a reminder,
- 2:31folks, if you're here and you love us, hit the subscribe button.
- 2:37We're almost the fifteen hundred subscribers, which would be epic to accomplish before this
- 2:43show is over tonight, make sure you like this video. Hit that little
- 2:46bell to get notified. Every time we go live and well, without further
- 2:53ado, we're gonna be talking about Jack Ruby's girls, his dancers, his
- 3:00entertainers, his women of the night, if you will on this show.
- 3:07There's some interesting things out there about a lot of his entertainers and dancers,
- 3:14and they had a lot of things to say about Jack Ruby and about the
- 3:17assassination itself. And we're gonna get into all that, I promise, but
- 3:24before we do, I just wanted to say hi to everybody and a big
- 3:29thank you, especially to John my buddy, than Thank you so much.
- 3:36You are the man. And Greg Man, thank you, sir. I
- 3:40know it's been a while. I hung out with Greg when I went to
- 3:45Dallas, Joe back in twenty nineteen. We hooked up and we went to
- 3:49the well notough, not Jack Ruby sense of hooking up. Well, I
- 3:57humped his leg a little bit. If that counts. Okay, that counts
- 4:03as long as you just eat them and stuff. No, no, no,
- 4:08I did eat something with Greg. We we I think we might have
- 4:15ubered our way over to Lee Harvey's. It's a very i'll just say,
- 4:23run down cool place to hang out. It is a dive bar, for
- 4:30sure, but it has a certain you're just gonna say, QUI if you
- 4:35will, Joe. Yeah, it's one of the places where you walk into
- 4:41the bathroom and just every corner of it is covered in graffiti and piss and
- 4:47it stinks, but all that and then and then you walk out of the
- 4:55bar and then they have a like a flea market setup where people sell like
- 5:00old albums and leather goods and it's just a kind of a hub caps and
- 5:05what I don't know what all they said, probably meth and you know,
- 5:09a little bit of crack, but we had a blast. Me and Greg.
- 5:13We uh drank a couple of Bruce Kys and ate some ate, some
- 5:16chicken, some bar chicken. It was. It was damn good though.
- 5:21Uh yeah, we we kind of hung out. We were like the youngest
- 5:25ones that were at Lancer that year, so we kind of hung out,
- 5:29uh that weekend, I think, and I think Greg can attest to the
- 5:31fact that your boy wrote a scooter and didn't reckon I know, well you
- 5:38sir in Dallas. I made this announcement on the effect and I will reannounce
- 5:46it. But I have been training on the bird and I'm going to conquer
- 5:51training wheels on your bird scooter. No, there's no training wheels and fact,
- 5:56in fact, I'm gonna pull tray. You're gonna pull what tricks?
- 6:01Oh, it's like kind of like a pun for the show in a way,
- 6:05right, Papa Wheelie. I'm just gonna pull tricks like Ruby's girls.
- 6:11And yeah, I'm gonna like blow away the whole answer or smoking section,
- 6:17which is a pretty happening place to be, might I say so myself?
- 6:21And uh, even though I don't smoke anymore, But it's just like fun
- 6:26to go down there and hang out and get your coffee in the morning and
- 6:30still smoke something. Right, Oh well the electronic kind. I mean thanks,
- 6:38you just considered smoking, Joe, I know. I figured we're screwed
- 6:46ready for this one. So oh no, there should be a there should
- 6:53be a home run. No in terms of them, in terms of this
- 6:56place. Yeah, we'll be all right, all right, excuse me,
- 7:03So let's say what's up to everybody? I see? Uh, tiny Dancer,
- 7:06Hello, I'm dying here. Who too much Silk City? No,
- 7:15I mean no spicy meat stick? And I't got a piece of spicy like
- 7:17big time. Who it happens? Oh, man, it happens? Who
- 7:28great? You Tiny Dancer off of sixty six of Chorus Claude Williams South to
- 7:32West td Garden and guns, Tiny Dancer, The Big Bad Bob? Is
- 7:41that is your real name? It is I don't hate No, I was
- 7:46given that by a very famous person. Uh you know, it's just remember
- 7:59like Bob and Doug Campbell, they actually to go to this show what was
- 8:03it called? You know, when you when you're deemed by one of the
- 8:07greats to be Bob Clark, then that is what I then that is what
- 8:13I shall be. Yeah, true big nonob yes who it is? Uh
- 8:22hard, I'm still on fire here. I wish it was this, but
- 8:28it's not. So if you want to feel like me right now, heading
- 8:33down in the description and follow the link and uh enter the code for twenty
- 8:39percent off of your entire order, you won't regret it. What's your butthole?
- 8:43Mite? That is an old ad mm hmm yeah. The uh Silk
- 8:54City messaged me on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, and uh, I
- 8:58guess they're going to send me what they sent you. Oh nice, Yeah,
- 9:03yeah, I love Jeff and Silk City. They freaking shout thank you,
- 9:09big shout out. All right, Joe, guess what I found?
- 9:13What did you find? Sir? Because you know I was sitting there and
- 9:16I was thinking, all right, I'm trying to think of all these dancers.
- 9:18You know, I'm like, okay, there was Jada, you know,
- 9:26Tammy, true little Lynn. You know, I'm trying to go through
- 9:30and figure and remember all these strict Oh I shouldn't say that word all these
- 9:33entertainers' names, right, you already said much worse. So at this point,
- 9:39like not really, I found a list of fifty five of Ruby's dancer
- 9:52girls. And among the notables on this list that you may have heard of
- 9:56before is Atlas from Dallas, April Flowers, Betty McDonald, who was Nancy
- 10:09Jane Mooney, who was dag O's girlfriend and who ended up hanging herself in
- 10:18prison or in Jail County jail about two months after the assassination. Yeah,
- 10:26Candy bar Juanita Phillips, she dated Mickey Cohen for a time. There was
- 10:37Delilah, There was Diana the Huntress. There was Jewel Brown, the African
- 10:46American jazz singer who is now like historic and famous. And she was mentioned
- 10:52in the previous episode with author Danny Finger Roths and she was not I want
- 10:58to uh specified, she was not a dancer. She was a singer.
- 11:05And I listened to an interesting interview with her today where she said, uh,
- 11:13someone gave her one hundred dollars tip and Ruby came over and said,
- 11:18where's my half And she goes, excuse me, mister Rube, I'm not
- 11:22one of your dancers. And she later you know, became a legend in
- 11:28the jazz community. So okay, thank you for that boring aside. Joe
- 11:33all right, back to the dancers, folks. Uh, this is a
- 11:37singer dancer. Nobody cares about jazz singer. I mean she's a legendary,
- 11:41but well whatever. Uh, Geneva Foster, Jada of course, joy Dale,
- 11:50who was Joyce, Glee McDonald, Kathy Kay, Little Lynn, Marilyn
- 12:00Moon, Nausea, Najada, Nikki Joyce, Peggy Steele, Penny Dollar was
- 12:09a big one back in the day. And we'll touch on some of these
- 12:13a little bit more. Robin Hood Rose share me for a time, Tammy.
- 12:18True. So there's a lot of these, A lot of these women
- 12:26are kind of interlaced with the Carousel Club and Jack Ruby and even other elements
- 12:31of the story. You know, when you're thinking about Dallas being this this
- 12:35huge city now, I mean, it seems like back in nineteen sixty three,
- 12:39Joe, everybody was kind of new everybody, you know. I mean,
- 12:45when you have people like that just come in and out of the story,
- 12:50you know. And we'll get into a lot of these stories because there's
- 12:52a lot of good ones and some definite tidbits that you haven't heard before,
- 13:00that's for sure. But Joe, you want to start us off with the
- 13:05a v g A. Sure. So one of the things you might have
- 13:15been wondering is how did Jack Ruby get his girls? Uh? Oh,
- 13:24that's a girl on the right. I was talking at bottom right that you
- 13:28were poop pooing roub. Yeah, I mean she's I mean she became like
- 13:35really famous. So yeah, true, you know you have Jada on the
- 13:43bottom left. I believe that's Kathy Ka in the bottom middle, uh,
- 13:50Diana Hunter and a few girls on the top. And yes, and this
- 13:58was another this is a Jada Jada. And so most Jada, most high
- 14:09end girls came from the American Guild of Variety Artists the AGVA AGVA, and
- 14:20that was an entertainment union. The carolcol Club closed in nineteen sixty February nineteen
- 14:26sixty four, so it was actually open more than two months after Jack Ruby
- 14:33Shotley Oswald on the twenty fourth. And because variety is the spice of life?
- 14:39Is that how that saying goes? I was gonna ask you good.
- 14:43So the girls would travel from club to club around the state and country.
- 14:46However, Jack Ruby liked to use amateur girls who could who were not hired
- 14:54by the AGVA rules, and they would cost ten to fifteen dollars a night
- 14:58instead of a minimum thirty five for the AGVA Union dancer like minimum wage.
- 15:07Well, I happen to have here, Joe Sure, with the folks at
- 15:09home, an AVGA contract with the Carousel Club signed by Jack Ruby. And
- 15:16this is for the dancer named Tony Turner. And this is from February of
- 15:24nineteen sixty two. And just to give you all guys an example of what
- 15:28he would pay his girls. Now, this is a pre formed contract basically,
- 15:35and he wrote a lot of stuff into it. I don't know how
- 15:41legally binding that is, but I guess it is if she signed it.
- 15:46But basically, this says that the operator hereby warrants that he is the operator
- 15:56herein at the present time and for the duration of this contract act and engages
- 16:00the artist, and the artist hereby accepts set engagement to present her act under
- 16:07the direction, supervision and control of the operator, as an exotic snake act
- 16:14of one person at the Carousel Club in the city of Dallas, for a
- 16:21period of two two consecutive weeks, seven days a week, three times a
- 16:29day, starting on Monday, February twenty sixth, nineteen sixty two, for
- 16:36which the operator agrees to pay the artist, and the artist agrees to accept
- 16:38as full payment to sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars weekly payable immediately
- 16:45preceding their first performance on the concluding night of each week's engagement. Hereunder artist
- 16:53hereby gives in grants to the operator the option of extending this agreement for two
- 17:00additional periods of two consecutive weeks each. Okay, So basically what that means
- 17:07is Jack Ruby paid her one hundred and seventy five dollars a week for two
- 17:12weeks to do her show, and if it's successful, he has the option
- 17:18of renewing her for two more consecutive weeks at that same rate, at the
- 17:26same rate interesting until he decides to stop. Okay, So she doesn't really
- 17:32have a say in it. And this is what Jada got upset about later
- 17:36on, because she didn't read the fine print, apparently because he would.
- 17:41She wanted to go back to New Orleans, but he kept her under contract,
- 17:47he kept renewing her option right, and she got pissed and she ended
- 17:52up, you know, almost having him arrested and taking him to court over
- 17:56it. Well, they did, actually, they went to Bill Decker took
- 18:00them to a judge and they settled it without like for the drama. But
- 18:08I was reading about that today and and it's very interest as one of them.
- 18:15Yeah, it's very interesting because she has some very interesting movements during that
- 18:22weekend that we'll get into. It just says basically that the artist shall always
- 18:26have feature billing, which means top billing. The above agreement shall consist of
- 18:34a number total of six weeks, including options. A determination of the above
- 18:41contract, the operators shall have to do a new contract at two hundred dollars
- 18:48a week for four weeks, with a four week option at two hundred dollars
- 18:53a week. So there's you know, different things that they would agree to.
- 18:57But that was Tony Turner Exotic Snake act. I would have liked to
- 19:03have seen that Exotic Snake act. I imagine where that snake went. Well,
- 19:15you know what the one of the arguments is started with a Jada was
- 19:25she kept lifting her g string and at the carousel, aka like showing a
- 19:30little flash, you know. And Ruby did not like that because he was
- 19:36competing with the Weinsteins, right and after reading uh Danny finger Off's book and
- 19:48reading a ton today and listening to all of his uh dancers and reading a
- 19:55ton of their testimonies. He was really like concerned with that. He wanted
- 20:00to be considered an upscale joint. But he had more than the carousel.
- 20:07He had the Vegas club, he had the colony. He I think he
- 20:11had more more and uh and uh tiny dancer, you know, yeah,
- 20:25instead of little Lynn. So how Jack Ruby got around a lot of this
- 20:33And the contract you just showed, right, was that for? What was
- 20:37that for? Who is it for? Yeah? The contract to oh,
- 20:42yes, Tony Okay, so I'm guessing she was a Yeah, so she
- 20:49was a union a union dancer. But they would have amateur nights where they
- 20:56would have girls come off the streets and pretend like they were amateurs. Right,
- 21:00it's not two different today, really, but right, it really isn't.
- 21:07But he would get around a lot of girls that he was just like,
- 21:10Hey, you want to come dance my club, I'll pay you one
- 21:11hundred dollars. Sure, well, girls, yeah, and then go over
- 21:17well with the union dancers. And again they were guaranteed their money, and
- 21:23they were guaranteed future billing. So they have got too upset And I have
- 21:30a graph from an HCA Ruby call log which shows his number of calls during
- 21:36the spring to November nineteen sixty three, and we'll show you the the corroboration
- 21:47with the union, the issues, and then how it jumped right before the
- 21:51assassination. It's really interesting, but I think it's pretty safe to say Ruby
- 21:56was trying to get around a lot of these union rules. Even though I
- 21:59think the union was pretty much mob or run or influence anyway, I don't
- 22:04see a way it couldn't have been. You know, you talk about like
- 22:07the pensions union with HAFA that Colonel Rabbit, thank you, right, like
- 22:12you have you have to think this this union was mobbed up, right,
- 22:17Rob, I can't hear you. So you caught me off guard. Yeah,
- 22:32I'm sure somebody who's getting some kickbacks from it, but you know,
- 22:34it's typical. I don't know how legit of an organization this was, but
- 22:40you know what I'm saying, or what it encompassed, or if it was
- 22:42nationwide, or if it was the Dallas thing or apparently apparently it was nationwide,
- 22:49and a lot of the girls would make complaints to the union, which
- 22:55would piss Ruby off. And I think That's why he tried to get around
- 23:02it in a lot of ways with the amateur nights and then the Carousel Club.
- 23:11He or two out of his four clubs, he restricted amateur nights and
- 23:18only let amateurs perform at two of them, so he was like kind of
- 23:22separating them. He was still competing with the Weinsteins across the street, who
- 23:27were much more successful than he was, and he was really concerned about his
- 23:33image. Yeah, and like today's dollars, you know, I'm sure a
- 23:38good dancer like well, I don't know how it is in Connecticut, Joe,
- 23:45But I don't know either here close to where I live at actually about
- 23:51twenty minutes from West Virginia, and Virginia doesn't have like full nude bars,
- 23:57you know what I'm saying. But West Virginia US right, and maybe months
- 24:06ago I might have partaken in some funny evenings across the border, and it
- 24:12look them girls easy easily make the good ones could easily make three to five
- 24:22hundred at night. Now they might have snorting two hundred of that at night,
- 24:29but yeah, it was it's they make good money now, so yeah,
- 24:33I would they make thousands the tops But Tammy Tammy. True. Basically
- 24:41she wrote a book and she basically took the job, and she said it
- 24:48afforded her because I guess I think her husband knocked her up and left her,
- 24:52so she was forced to move in with her mom and she was able
- 24:56to afford a house and uh, you know, her mom didn't have to
- 25:00work anymore and all this stuff. So yeah, I mean they were set
- 25:04up pretty good back then, definitely. And she was one of Jack Ruby's
- 25:14most longest serving dancers, and she was We got to get to the Parkland
- 25:23stuff because in addition to Ruby at Parkland, guess who else was there?
- 25:30YadA YadA who hit somebody trying to flee Dallas on the morning of the twenty
- 25:38second near the Texas instruments like the calculator I think factory, And she went
- 25:48in and there was an f and she called someone for help, and I
- 25:52guess they dropped the guy off at some other clinic then went to Park Morrison
- 26:00story, Joe, here's the story. So this is from the Garrison investigations
- 26:07from Detective Frank Melloch from Saint Louis or invatory information received by telephone from Charles
- 26:15Byrne Saint Louis Miteruri, March tenth, sixty seven. He said, I
- 26:19was on the job working for Texas Instruments on the day of the assassination,
- 26:25about thirty minutes before it happened. I was walking between two buildings about a
- 26:29half a block off Lemon Avenue, which was on the Medor He said,
- 26:34I was crossing the street and I stepped out in the street and I was
- 26:37hit by this gal in a Cadillac license number Louisiana license number nine four one
- 26:44nine eight five. And her name was Jeannette Conforto. She was in Dallas
- 26:48on that day and she was employed by the Carousel Club owner Jack Ruby.
- 26:55She made the statement to the company security people since they were on the accident
- 26:59job, and they questioned her she was in a hurry to get to New
- 27:03Orleans right away, and she made this statement. They asked if they could
- 27:07get a hold of her on the job at the Carousel Club, and she
- 27:10said no, the nightclub wouldn't be opened that night. Yeah, that's this
- 27:18Friday night, yep, right there, yep. And this is credit to
- 27:25Tony Chrome from the Jacks for emotion. I want to give him credit for
- 27:30that, but yeah, I just want to show you how close that accident
- 27:33was to the parade route and Lemon which you just mentioned. And then they
- 27:37booked it right there to apparently drop off Burns right and then to Parkland right.
- 27:45So, as it turned out, it wasn't open that night because of
- 27:48the assassination. And she had this fellow that was with her. I can't
- 27:52remember his name. It wasn't on the accident report. But they carried me
- 27:56over to the clinic to be x rayed, and it all happened while I
- 27:59was in the clinic. They were actually with me at the clinic when it
- 28:02happened. It came over the radio and he told me a long line of
- 28:04stuff that turned out not to be true. I don't know. I just
- 28:07thought you people might get interested in some of this information. This information,
- 28:12I understand, was given to the NPI by the security chief. Hell's that
- 28:18noise? Someone called me, good lord? Sorry? Was she with you
- 28:29at the clinic? Did she seem nervous or upset? She was almost hysterical,
- 28:33you think, for the fact of hitting you. I don't know.
- 28:36She was cussing me for doing this. She went into a side building and
- 28:41used to telephone to call this guy and he was there in about two minutes.
- 28:44He was somewhere close in another cadillact. You don't know who this fellow
- 28:48was. I don't know, but the security chief does know because he got
- 28:52his name and everything, but it was never entered on the accident report.
- 28:55My security chief was working for Texas Instruments. Blah blah blah, accident report.
- 29:00It all sounds fishy to me. I'm calling from Saint Louis. I'm
- 29:04still working for Texas Instruments, but I'm up here on field service for McDonald's
- 29:08aircraft. My number is blah blah blah. If you'd like to talk to
- 29:12me and give me a call, Detective Frank Meloch. So apparently Jada was
- 29:18in a hurry on eleven, twenty two sixty three to get the hell out
- 29:22of Dallas and go back to New Orleans. So continue the story, and
- 29:29I think now we get to Parkland. Yes, so she gets a ride
- 29:37to Parkland or I'm not sure, lot my chuck both her. She arrives
- 29:47at Parkland first and then followed by Little Lynn. And of course we know
- 29:53by Seth Canter's testimony that Ruby was at Parkland, So why what allegedly yeah,
- 30:11so you do have documentation of two Ruby strippers, Jada arriving before the
- 30:22president arrived and Little Lynn arriving after and who knows when Jack Ruby arrived.
- 30:30And this is in part of Little Lynn's Warn Commission testimony and other corresponding documents.
- 30:44And it's really interesting because she's trying to leave on eleven twenty two,
- 30:49she gets in an accident, she ends up at Parkland, she ends up
- 30:55staying to the twenty fourth. She then and i'll show you the documents of
- 31:00this shortly. She then drives back to New Orleans literally within minutes of the
- 31:07time Ruby shoots Oswalt, but then, when hearing about it on the radio,
- 31:12decides to stop at a gas station, make some phone calls, and
- 31:17then turn around and go back to Texas on Sunday. So her movements make
- 31:25absolutely no sense to me, and especially considering their previous argument with the contract.
- 31:38She's trying to leave, she can't leave. Her boyfriend is a mafioso
- 31:48sounding guy. And let me show you this because I exactly because you know,
- 32:00it was an interesting day rob Wednesday, the twenty second or the twentieth,
- 32:13So that is when Jada YadA Jada I'm gonna do that every time.
- 32:22This is a deep this is actually a commissioned document. It's a party,
- 32:30mister Frank T. Tortillo. See, I won't miss that one up boyfriend
- 32:35of Jada, exotic dancer at the Cals Carousel Club. This is all participants
- 32:44at a party. Jack Ruby, Joe F. Freder Rioli, a nephew
- 32:52of Veto Genovese who was the mob boss of Philly in New Jersey, his
- 33:00wife, missus Ann Bryant, who resides in the same parking lots Jada,
- 33:08and hey, shout out to John Naylor because I don't know if this is
- 33:13your relative, but it was Naylor's understanding. This was the guy that was
- 33:19furnishing the information to the FBI that Joe P. Fredis Fredriski. I'm sorry
- 33:27it's so hard to read. And his wife left for Dallas Thursday, November
- 33:31twenty first, a day before the assassination for New Jersey or someplace in the
- 33:37east. So that is also the day that little Lynn claimed to the Warrant
- 33:45Commission that she quit the Carousel Club. And so I'm wondering how serious was
- 33:59this dispute If they're partying together on the twentieth, and she is a chance
- 34:07to get out on the twenty second. She doesn't really have to come back,
- 34:09right The guy didn't declined Burns declined medical assistance. Why go to Parkland?
- 34:16Why not just keep going to New Orleans? Why not go to New
- 34:21Orleans on Sunday? She just didn't, And I don't know why. It's
- 34:27very interestingly. She had a kid who was in New Orleans that she wanted
- 34:32to get back to. So she says, yeah, so this is what
- 34:36she said to the Warren Commission, missus Powell. Yeah, go ahead,
- 34:42Oh this is Jada. No, No, Jada had a kid in New
- 34:45Orleans. She wanted to get Oh, okay, okay, I'm just gonna
- 34:51go to Little Lens right now. Warren Commission testimony. Uh, she's getting
- 34:55questioned by mister Burke Griffin, who we are our guest touched upon last episode.
- 35:02Wait a minute, I know I went to Tulsa. This is Little
- 35:07Linn speaking, and I worked the last two weeks in March. I stayed
- 35:10in Tulsa in March, and I worked two weeks in Kansas City, Kansas
- 35:15City rob and came back and stayed in Tulsa until June second, and I
- 35:22came home. Then when did you come back and work for Jack? Wait,
- 35:27don't rush me. That was last summer. How did I get up
- 35:31past the up way past the assassination? It was last summer while I worked
- 35:37for Jack Ruby up until two days before the president was assassination assassinated. I
- 35:42closed on Tuesday. It happened on Thursday, didn't it? Mister Griffin was
- 35:46like Friday? So she playing stupid here? You have to think so,
- 35:51yeah, I mean remember she said I got mad and quit for some reason.
- 35:57I mean, you're gonna remember a couple of months later why you got
- 36:00mad and quit your job. We were going to get there, I promised,
- 36:07But yeah, uh yeah, she got mad at him and quit and
- 36:13doesn't even remember why. And and this is actually kind of like, if
- 36:21you're pissed enough to quit your job, you know why. I mean,
- 36:24come on, right, so we'll get to uh. The testimony of Andrew
- 36:31Armstrong Wasn't wasn't little Lynn the one that did Jack Ruby Western Union, like
- 36:39right before he went and shot Oswald in the basement, yep, fort Worth.
- 36:45So she quit already. Maybe I guess he was paying her what he
- 36:50oder left maybe or money it's possible, but I think I viewed from what
- 36:59I was able to clean from reading a ton of dancer interviews and the interviews
- 37:06of the manager that took over once we went to jail that we'll get into,
- 37:09I promise. I looked at little Lynn as probably one of his most
- 37:17reliable, long term and pretty much loyal employees. But whether that loyalty was
- 37:29out of love or fear, that goes back to the Bronx tail. I
- 37:37think it probably was out of fear, because when you look at some of
- 37:39these HCA stuff and statements we're going to get into of the guy that the
- 37:46manager that quote unquote took over once RB went to jail. He was still
- 37:52scared in the HCA time and was keeping his mouth shut, and will show
- 37:58you how they literally had to, you know, pluck your teeth to get
- 38:05what's the what's the saying, pull your teeth to get an answer out of
- 38:10you, like he will show you how. In two sentences, he goes,
- 38:15oh, no, I don't know about that, And they got while
- 38:16you told our arvestigator this, and he goes, oh yeah, yeah,
- 38:20yeah, oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I could say that, oh yeah,
- 38:22that it's well it's your sea, folks, And I see some of
- 38:28the comments. People had a high opinion of Jack Ruby, and some were
- 38:32very loyal to him, but there was also some who said quite the opposite.
- 38:39And before we get a little too further, Joe I wanted to touch
- 38:43on some of the deaths of some of Jack Ruby's girls real quick. Sure,
- 38:49So we have Benny McDonald, Dancy Mooney in February sixty four, suicide
- 38:54by hanging in Dallas jail, Rose sharing Me hit and run victim in September
- 39:00of sixty five, Little Lynn nineteen sixty six, victim of a gunshot.
- 39:10Yeah, Delilah Uh, shot by her husband after one month of marriage in
- 39:15September of sixty six. I'm just scanning them real quick, did did you?
- 39:36Maybe that's all we got the dancers, But in that small span of
- 39:42well, nineteen sixty six, the first nine months. Okay, you have
- 39:47Judge Joe Brown, who presided over the Ruby trial, dead of a heart
- 39:53attack. Little Lynn, of course, we said, uh. Ruby employee
- 40:00who was last talked with Ruby before the Oswald shooting. She died from a
- 40:02gunshot. Arlene Roberts, Oswald's landlady, has a heart attack, al bouguarde
- 40:09car salesman who said Oswald test ray of car suicide. Captain Frank Martin,
- 40:15Joe Dallas captain who witnessed the Oswald Sling Ruby shooting. Oswald told the Warrant
- 40:22Commission, there's a lot to be said, but probably be better if I
- 40:25didn't say it. Now. Cancer got him Lee Bowers Junior car accident.
- 40:32And then Delilah was shot by her husband after one month of marriage. William
- 40:39Pittser, who was a JFK autopsy photographer who described his duty as a horrifying
- 40:46experience suicide. So yeah, there's James Warrell saw a man fleet the rear
- 40:55of the Texas School Depository car wreck. So there's just when does conspiracy or
- 41:06when does coincidence become a conspiracy? And the only reason I bring all this
- 41:09up is of course, to tie in ties in Joe with the U from
- 41:14the Roscoe White episode, you know, of his of his hit list.
- 41:19You know, he says he was out killing these people, you know,
- 41:22in the years after the assassination. And you gotta wonder because I think Jada
- 41:29when the Janda Johna did she died in a weird way, but it wasn't
- 41:32until nineteen eighty. She might have died in a motorcycle accident. Was it
- 41:37was her a little linn one of the It wasn't a little nu. I
- 41:45think I might have been forty four for Jada. I think I read that.
- 41:51Yeah, it was in nineteen eighty. Uh huh, Yeah, it's
- 42:00not that. I think that's right. Actually, I know it's right.
- 42:06Tiny Dancer said the the real money is in yachting, and I was like,
- 42:09like, below Deck, I have ever seen that show? I have
- 42:15not, Oh, don't worry, it's a probably it's a it's a Bravo
- 42:23show about these people, these deckhands and these cooks that hook up below deck.
- 42:30Sure that's what it's called. If it's on the Bravo network. Yeah,
- 42:34no, it's called Tiny Dancer backed me up. It's it's called below
- 42:37Deck. Yeah, it's funny. Uncle Dave in the house. What's up,
- 42:45buddy? Yes, what's he saying? Frederico exported left Dallas twenty second
- 42:53in the early morning hours. That's what I just I think I just read
- 42:59that. I think I said the first twenty first, But yes, he
- 43:00did leave before the assassination and h hitch it back up East. They weren't
- 43:07sure where forget about Larry Crayford too, right, Oh, I have a
- 43:14beautiful statement here from little Lynn on Larry Crafford. Do you want to see
- 43:17it? Yes? I love this one, all right, give me a
- 43:23second, jolenmen. Oh he was handsome, and here we go, old
- 43:35Elsie, all right, come up now, yep and uh shot. You
- 43:46might be shocked by this. She might not be, but she described him
- 43:50as a creep. Mister Griffin, do you remember the last fellow, Larry
- 43:59Crayford. Isn't he kind of a carnival guy? That is the fellow?
- 44:08Yes, I remember him. Do you remember anything about Jack's twist board?
- 44:14Interesting? Yes, I demonstrated his twist board here in the building with the
- 44:19exhibits, and this is little Liigan the Texas Product show. Yes. How
- 44:25many times did you go out to demonstrate? Just once? How long were
- 44:29you there? Thirty minutes of an hour? Jack called me and blah blah
- 44:31blah. He had another fellow. Oh there was another boy he had picked
- 44:37up in addition to Larry Crayford, by the name of Tommy. According to
- 44:43them, maybe he had another fellow. At this time, I was demonstrating
- 44:50the twist board that this boy was living with him. His name was Tommy
- 44:54something, and he was staying with him the last time I was there,
- 44:59living in Jack's apartment. Yes, and you have to keep in mind that
- 45:07Little Lynn was living in the same apartment complex as Jack Ruby because her old
- 45:12apartment complex was a little CD and there was a lot of bad stuff going
- 45:17on. So when this new apartment complex opened, Ruby invited Little Lynn to
- 45:29stay in that complex. And that was that is that same complex. To
- 45:34Uncle Dave's point, that that party was hosted where Frederico Fredericio or whatever his
- 45:42name was, was there, the nephew of Vito and Geneviez. So at
- 45:50this time blah blah blah living in Jack's apartment. Yes, they came out
- 45:54there and we went to the apartment and Jack cooked dinner for us. All
- 45:58how old a felt? Was Tommy about twenty five? I guess what did
- 46:02he look like? Well, I think he looked. He told me he
- 46:07had played baseball. He looked like a baseball player. Baseball players all look
- 46:12alike, sort of athletic type, but not muscle muscle pout. I didn't
- 46:19know that before, Uh, there was a specific baseball type about haltel five
- 46:24to eleven, brown hair. I think he was from Iowa, really nice
- 46:29kid, had a job. Was he working? I don't know how long
- 46:34had Tommy been living with jack I don't know when did he move out?
- 46:37You got me? I don't know. Uh. And this is a common
- 46:43trend throughout all the testimony for a lot of Rubi's dancers and his employees.
- 46:50I don't know, I can't remember. I have to check on that.
- 46:54I've seen it all day, I've seen it all week. And he goes
- 46:59to colle at TCU and you can drop him off. So he's having a
- 47:05little linn drop this boy off that was staying with him at TCU the college
- 47:09there, Texas Christian University, and this kid was working around there. Blah
- 47:15blah blah blah blah blah. And then while she was driving him home,
- 47:19she asked him, how long have you known Jackie? And he said,
- 47:22I don't know him. I didn't have enough money to get to Fort Worth,
- 47:25and I started talking to him on the street and he told me to
- 47:29come up to the club and he give me a couple of dollars to work,
- 47:31and then he got me a ride. So later in the testimony,
- 47:37he goes on to state how Ruby was being made fun of for picking people
- 47:43up on the street and was telling them to say he's a friend of his
- 47:47from Chicago's yeah, a little desperation. It's kind of like an edward edwin
- 47:57Walker situation, right, and the uh look and Dallas was freaky back in
- 48:02the day. Man. That's all I can tell you. What's up?
- 48:05Colleen? Oh, better late than never. You can catch it all in
- 48:13the replay as well. But welcome in, so Joe, I think play
- 48:21a little bit of Jatta that interview you got. Yes, people can get
- 48:24a little taste of exotica. Okay, what's up, Sally? Welcome in
- 48:32first time on the live. Hello, Hello, Hello, Welcome Sally.
- 48:43Hopefully this will work. You're hearing gotta. How long did you know Jack
- 48:50Ruby? I know Jack Ruby for possibly four or five six months reship.
- 48:57I was employed as the feature at the Carousel Club, and I had known
- 49:01Jackie before I went to work there, and I had a slight hashle with
- 49:07Jack and I had left, and that was the end of my association with
- 49:09Kimi, particularly regarding the Kennedy. I have heard Jack talk about the Kennedys
- 49:20and I've been trying to think and it's so confusing today, but I believe
- 49:23he dislikes Bobby Kennedy. No recollection of what he had ever said about the
- 49:30president. Yes, he followed that statements up about Bobby with something about Jack
- 49:37Kennedy. But I can't for the minute to just form it in my mind.
- 49:42Do you think that the Jack Ruby is a type of man that was
- 49:46capable of killing the assassin of President Kennedy out of love for kennedy political moments?
- 50:00Very carefully? I don't think he loved Kennedy that much. I don't
- 50:09know why he would do it. I'd say he would be perfectly capable of
- 50:13an act like that very much. So all right, So I could not
- 50:23hear that, guys, because I was playing it through my computer. So
- 50:27that's why we were doing that back and forth. What did you think was
- 50:30she pretty careful with her words or not? I would say she was very
- 50:36methodical. I mean, given what happened, given the fact that you know
- 50:40she wanted this guy arrested, charges brought on him. Then they're partying together
- 50:45two days before the assassination. Then this weird stuff happens on November twenty second
- 50:51with her trying to leave Dallas and just before Ruby shot Oswald. Just weird
- 50:59but actual concepts. Man, thank you so much. You rock sir.
- 51:05Oh wow, thank you. However you identify, I'm guessing you're a dude,
- 51:10and thank you. Yes, and Colleen is well coming in strong with
- 51:16the supersticker. We appreciate it. Man. You guys are really I feel
- 51:22I feel almost like a stripper getting tipped in the Carousel Club. Joe.
- 51:29It's kind of like that. Let me show you some h h. Yeah.
- 51:37I think Jack Tayler brings up a great point here, very guarded.
- 51:42Yeah, it's very suspect. Very yes. Should we should we talk about
- 51:49the the bartender real of the Carousel Club, a guy by the name of
- 51:55Andrew Armstrong. Now this was a back in the time, you know,
- 52:01wasn't very popular to have, you know, black people employed in these white
- 52:08establishments and in very high ranking positions. And it technically he was the bartender.
- 52:16And was he sleeping there Joe as well. No, I don't think
- 52:22he slept there. I think he think it was just there. Yes,
- 52:25yes, I believe so. I think he had his own place, so
- 52:28he was working for Ruby for eighteen months. So initially and as we'll get
- 52:35there in a second, h he did testify to the Warrant commission. Uh,
- 52:38he ran the club after Ruby was arrested. And he, let's just
- 52:45say, he likes to change his story and you literally have to have a
- 52:52crowbar to kind of get it out of his mouth and get his mouth open
- 52:58because he is not he does not volunteer anything. Well mind, you know
- 53:06the black workers at the school book depository. Keep in mind, these guys
- 53:10didn't want to say anything or be associated with any of this white people business
- 53:17shooting each other, you know what I mean. So yeah, leave me
- 53:21the f out of it, Like, keep this in mind here, Okay,
- 53:29And we're gonna do a little will be Bert Griffin And that will be
- 53:35Andrew Armstrong Jr. For this little spicy monologue. Yes, so okay,
- 53:45So let's give him an example of Andrew Armstrong's Warren commissioned testimony. Sure,
- 53:50and we're just gonna read this. We're not going to put it up.
- 53:52But uh, I mean, you could just go to Mary Farrell and type
- 53:57in Jada and it will be the first thing that comes up and documents.
- 54:00But Andrew Armstrong junior was a Ruby manager. I should have put that in
- 54:07quotation marks because he kind of self well, he basically was the manager when
- 54:15he was Yeah, he ran it after after Ruby went to jail for Ribby
- 54:22went from there a lot. He ran it, you know, he was
- 54:23in charge. Yeah, I mean and if and okay, so we'll get
- 54:30we'll get to it. So I'm going to start, all right, So
- 54:37the Warrant Commission, So, mister Armstrong, the Warreck Commission indicated that you
- 54:45met him in the spring of Ruby in the spring of nineteen sixty two when
- 54:49you first went into the carousel for a job. Was that the first time
- 54:52you met Jack Ruby or had there been a previous contact in the late nineteen
- 54:58fifties, Ha, uh well yeah, uh. I used to go over
- 55:02to uh with a group that we came out of a West Dallas you see,
- 55:08and we used to go over there and sing. We used to take
- 55:12them over there and they would sing and make money by people pitching pennies and
- 55:16quarters to them. You know, they would catch them in the cuffs of
- 55:20their pants. Would you sing near the club or in the club? In
- 55:28the club in the Vegas club, you sing it just like that? And
- 55:31that was when Jack Ruby ran the VIGs Club. That was when Ruby ran
- 55:37the Vegas Club. Yep, yep, Okay, we're skipping on a little
- 55:42bit because his testimony is very long. So this is moving on to Ruby
- 55:47after he was in jail. Well, all right, Uh so what were
- 55:52your responsibilities when Ruby went to jail. Well, my responsibilities grew and putting
- 56:00down the receist in the book side, be going to the bank, things
- 56:05like that, making sure there was enough girls, you know what I'm saying,
- 56:07Uh there was enough waitresses, you know what I'm saying. Uh,
- 56:12going and putting ads in the paper. They just grew. Then it was
- 56:15just like you know, be a manager of a club, you know,
- 56:19like that pm P. So they grew until the time of the assassination,
- 56:23and then you were actually in charge after the assassination for a while. Sure,
- 56:30sure there wasn't anybody butt me in charge after the assassination? Food interesting?
- 56:37Did you know Joyce McDonald's Bart Griffin, Sir, Please, did you
- 56:47know missus Joyce McDonald? Joyce McDonald, I don't know. I can't say
- 56:54there was three or four thousand girls that went through that place when I worked
- 56:59there. The little time, I did, and I probably couldn't call it
- 57:04all these names. Do you remember Jada? Oh? Yeah, I remember
- 57:12Jada? All right? How can you forget Jada? Mm hmmm. Do
- 57:19you know how Jack went about hiring her? Well, all I remember is
- 57:24Jack got a contact out in New Orleans, and uh, he probably being
- 57:28in the business he was in, he knew that she was one of the
- 57:30top bill girls, you know, and at the time he needed him a
- 57:35top billed girl because the Colony Club was kicking his ass. So now we're
- 57:43jumping into Ruby's dogs. Where was she? But after Oswald was shot?
- 57:51That's another thing that I don't Uh, where was she after Oswald was shot?
- 57:57Uh? Now I'm told that Sheba was in the car. Now,
- 58:01I remember going to getting Sheba. I don't remember whether I went to the
- 58:06police station and got Sheba or whether I went to the Carousel club and got
- 58:13Sheba. But I remember going to getting Sheba. You know. Now,
- 58:19Now I could have went into the police station, but if I did,
- 58:22I would have had to get somebody to carry me. And I don't remember
- 58:27getting anybody to carry me to pick up Sheba because I didn't have a car.
- 58:34But you ended up with Sheba the doctor. Yeah, yeah, I
- 58:38ain't died up with Sheba she mine. Now that's right, all right?
- 58:45So, mister Armstrong, you have said in one of your interviews with one
- 58:50of our staff members that Jack Ruby did indeed gamble mm hmmm. Did he
- 58:58ever play dice or cards or or whatever for money? No? No,
- 59:02I mean well, Jack and his roommate what's his name? Uh, they
- 59:08might have had a few poker games or something, if you know what I'm
- 59:12talking about, But nothing big. That's not gambling. No, that's just
- 59:15passing the time away, you know what I'm saying. Fair enough? Do
- 59:21you know, of your personal knowledge whether or not Jack Ruby ever had a
- 59:25card game for money in his apartment. I don't know for sure. M
- 59:31hmm. If they didn't think like me, do you think he did?
- 59:37Well, imagine he did. I mean it would be safe to say that.
- 59:39Yeah, they had a few poker games sometimes, I guess sure.
- 59:44So who would have attended? Which of Jack's friends? Probably just the guys
- 59:51in the apartment there. They would lay around the swimming pool together, if
- 59:55you know what I'm saying. All right? All right, right? Yeah,
- 1:00:04so that one better than our last skit. Yes, you did a
- 1:00:08great job. You did a great you did a great job. And uh
- 1:00:15that you know. He goes Griffin asks him if check Rubi ever gambled.
- 1:00:23It's a pretty simple question. He goes, no, he goes, what
- 1:00:27you told us he did, and he goes, oh, yeah he might
- 1:00:30have, he might have probably Actually yeah, I can pretty much say yeah,
- 1:00:34yeah, yeah he did. Like it's just it's just contradictory, fucking
- 1:00:44muddying the waters everywhere. It's crazy, and it's crazy how fifteen years later,
- 1:00:51I mean they were very guarded still this guy, you know in the
- 1:00:54late seventies. Oh wow, we got British money. Wow, where are
- 1:01:02we going? Man? Thank you, Sally, Thank you so much.
- 1:01:13Yes, he appreciate you see him walking the street to London. Who bart
- 1:01:19oh Bart, I was gonna be like, uh, stay away from Jack
- 1:01:24the Ripper. Yes, thank you so much, Sally. We greatly appreciate
- 1:01:29it. Greatly appreciate Yes. So this is something interesting and it gets back
- 1:01:35to uh, what we were talking about with Ruby's phone calls and the union,
- 1:01:43which is right here right, and this kind of has a correlating bump
- 1:01:47as to his phone calls, his toll calls which are I believe out of
- 1:01:53town calls. And look how this just goes from about thirty to one twenty,
- 1:02:04so it pretty much quadruples in nineteen in the fall of nineteen sixty three.
- 1:02:10And it's really interesting just as a former financial analyst looking at this,
- 1:02:15this bump right here, right, it's I don't know, and then this
- 1:02:23Jaa talks right, and I think he got Jada around close to that time
- 1:02:31before he started having problems with the union. So it's really interesting this whole
- 1:02:38uh like, like Rob said, he found fifty four or fifty five six
- 1:02:45on one list, and here Armstrong is saying there were three or four thousand
- 1:02:50that came by in the eighteen months he was working there in the spring of
- 1:02:54nineteen sixty two, and you have to think a lot of those were those
- 1:02:58like kind of one time amateurs maybe that were whatever doing a lot of side
- 1:03:05work to make their bills. And actually that that is a pretty good segue
- 1:03:08to what I am going to show next, Rob, which is it's you
- 1:03:17know how it is little in and what does she say? And well,
- 1:03:30I'm gonna start from a couple of seconds in. If you tell me back
- 1:03:32a couple of seconds I won't be able to hear it. Just tell me
- 1:03:36back, okay, Okay, I don't. I don't think we got any
- 1:04:14sound here, Joe. It's going to come on here? Last performance in
- 1:04:16public? Yes, what's the reason for that? I don't like distripulus?
- 1:04:24M hmm that so why are you appearing here for these? Because of financial
- 1:04:28difficulty? Could have been invicted so many times and so many jobs. My
- 1:04:33husband, So you've had a lot of trouble with the land ladies and landlords
- 1:04:39lately. We understand what sort of trouble do you have? Well? As
- 1:04:43soon as they find out who I am and who I was connected with,
- 1:04:45they always ask a slave for some odd little reasons. What sort of excuses
- 1:04:49do they give for asking you to live? Well? They say that they
- 1:04:53don't want to be involved in the Jack rabion anyway, nor do they want
- 1:04:57any trouble, and they don't want to investigators their man, Have you been
- 1:05:00bothered with investigators at all since the Jack Ruby trial? What sort of questions
- 1:05:05have they been asking you? And where are the investigators from? The investigators
- 1:05:11are from Dallas and Fort Worth, also the wrong commission and the questions are
- 1:05:15I guess just about the same as they asked, any one did you know
- 1:05:19Jack Ruby? And what kinds of the man was Jack Ruby? Or is
- 1:05:24Jack Ruby? Well, I believe he was a nice employer to me.
- 1:05:30I believe. I don't really like to alight too. I gotta give a
- 1:05:40shout out. Well, first of all, thank you again to uh Scott
- 1:05:45again and Jack again and my friend Vinnie Boom, my friend Vinnie in the
- 1:05:53chat tonight. There's levels to this. Vinnie. Yeah, he says my
- 1:05:57levels are high. That's what he says when I'm like too excited. It's
- 1:06:02probably because he thought there might be some audio issues there at the beginning of
- 1:06:06that footage. I didn't know if it was going to kick it or not.
- 1:06:10No, he just called He just calls my levels high all the time
- 1:06:13because I'm always excited and you'd never know. Joe off the charts. He
- 1:06:18asked me to rate it one to ten and I'm like, h two,
- 1:06:24no, like usually eight ish, but uh but it's funny and yeah,
- 1:06:30so that that was a little less seguys perfectly into what I got here.
- 1:06:36I got it, well, what do you think about it? Because I
- 1:06:40couldn't hear it and I listened to it earlier. But well, she's,
- 1:06:44as you know, she's having problems being being Little Lynn, being the dancer,
- 1:06:51being tied to Jack Ruby, being tied to the assassination, being questioned
- 1:06:56by the federal agents, you know, and and get evicted and blah blah
- 1:07:00blah. But you know, sob story for her whatever. But I happened
- 1:07:05to have an affidavid from Roger Warner, who was a special agent of the
- 1:07:11United States Secret Service, and he says, I'm employed as a special agent
- 1:07:18for the United States Secret Service in Dallas. I was employed in the position
- 1:07:23on November twenty four to sixty three. The following was this statement regarding my
- 1:07:26interview with Karen Karen Lynn Bennett Carlin, also known as Little Lynn, on
- 1:07:33November the twenty fourth, and is true and correct to the best of my
- 1:07:36knowledge. Now, on November twenty fourth, if you'll remember, folks,
- 1:07:41is the day that Jack Ruby shot Lee Oswald. So this is a relatively
- 1:07:45quick interview done by the Secret Service. And listen to how weird this is?
- 1:07:50Joe. So, on November twenty fourth, at the request of Spector
- 1:07:56Thomas Kelly of the US Secret Service, I met with Karen Lyn our shit
- 1:08:00Karen Lynn Bennett Carlin of Fort Worth, Texas. The time was eleven PM.
- 1:08:10Also president of the interview was Bruce Ray Carlin, who was identified by
- 1:08:15Missus Carlin as her husband. Missus Carlin related to me facts regarding a twenty
- 1:08:21five dollars money order sent to her by Jack Ruby earlier in the day.
- 1:08:27She also related to me the fact that she had learned that mister who is
- 1:08:34that, mister duar, once employed by Jack Ruby, had seen Lee Harvey
- 1:08:47Oswald in Ruby's nightclub, the Carousel. Missus Carlin stated that she had also
- 1:08:54vaguely remembered Oswald being at the club, but was by no means sure of
- 1:08:59the fact nor of the fact that she had ever seen Oswald. So she
- 1:09:02might have seen him, but she wasn't sure. She might not have,
- 1:09:06she might have, who knows. That's that's the trend in Armstrong's testimony and
- 1:09:13Zadas and little Lens. It's all maybe, oh no, maybe not.
- 1:09:17It's just like all back and forth, like what the fuck can you make
- 1:09:23out of it? Easier come on. At the beginning of the above interview,
- 1:09:30Missus Carlin was highly agitated and was reluctant to make any statement to me.
- 1:09:35She stated to me that she was under the impression that Lee Harvey Oswald,
- 1:09:39Jack Ruby, and other individuals unknown to her were involved in a plot
- 1:09:43to assassinate President Kennedy, and that she would be killed if she gave any
- 1:09:47information to the authorities. It was only through the aid of her husband that
- 1:09:54she would give me information at all. She twisted in her chair, stammered
- 1:09:59in her speed each and cried to the point of hysteria. Okay. Later,
- 1:10:10toward the end of the interview, which lasted about forty five minutes,
- 1:10:13missus Carlin became much calmer. She stated that she had no memory of Oswald
- 1:10:19whatsoever until she had heard mister I don't know who this guy's name is,
- 1:10:28mister Dewer statement on television. Also that she had no information in her possession
- 1:10:36which indicated that Ruby was involved in a plot to assassinate President Kennedy. She
- 1:10:43did not think all information she had related be kept confidential and prevent retaliation against
- 1:10:51her in case there was a plot afoot. She stated she did not wish
- 1:10:56to give her to get involved in the matter at hand. So, yeah,
- 1:11:01this that's a weird same day interview, very weird. Yeah, same
- 1:11:09day as is really weird because you take those statements much more seriously than you
- 1:11:16do ones fir Se HSCA fifteen years later, right day. And then we
- 1:11:25go to Jada some more from Jada folks. So Jada from New Orleans,
- 1:11:30and this is from a newspaper clipping from the guess is the Dallas Morning News.
- 1:11:38Dada from New Orleans, a redheaded stripper who was going great in Jack
- 1:11:42Ruby's Carousel club until shortly before the boss blasted the mid drift of presidential assassin
- 1:11:48Lee Oswald flew into New York yesterday, a refugee from Dallas. It isn't
- 1:11:56the Jada. Jeanetkin forty once in the COPA Corps believes that Ruby is about
- 1:12:00to be let out suddenly from the Dallas whoscal It's just the thought of what
- 1:12:05might happen if he did get out, in view of some of the things
- 1:12:09she said about him since last Sunday, that makes Jada mighty uncomfortable. That
- 1:12:15and the tenseness of Dallas. Do I know Jack Ruby? You bet I
- 1:12:20do? She told the News yesterday. I went there two months ago on
- 1:12:25a two week contract to star in this club. Only I found he had
- 1:12:29a fine print clause giving him the option to keep on renewing every two weeks.
- 1:12:33And I couldn't get away though I have a club of my own I
- 1:12:36wanted to get back to in New Orleans. So I got to know Ruby
- 1:12:41real well too well. So very interesting comments from Jada that I guess this
- 1:12:48is a week after the assassination. Very interesting and if you notice, I
- 1:12:57have some nice picks of uh oh, yeah, shot up there now.
- 1:13:00Yeah. Once Jada said, he opened my dressing room and pushed a drunk
- 1:13:04man in. Then he followed in and beat the man. Mercilessly strutted out
- 1:13:11like a peacock to brag about what he'd done to a man who was annoying
- 1:13:15his star. If he thought somebody, he was always sure he had the
- 1:13:20advantage, the party would be drunk much smaller than him, or a girl.
- 1:13:27He always boasted that he had nothing to worry about, claiming he had
- 1:13:30big shot friends on the police force or in the DA's office. He was
- 1:13:34always inviting cops in to drink and eat and see the show. No doubt
- 1:13:39it was this familiarly familiarity that got him into that police building where he shot
- 1:13:45Oswald. Jada hadn't been around Ruby to speak of for nine days before he
- 1:13:54murdered Oswald, which contradicts with your FBI report about partying with him two days
- 1:14:02before the assassination. He became angry with her one night because she rebuffed his
- 1:14:08advances, she says, and turned off the lights and ordered him off stage.
- 1:14:15He threatened to burn my clothing and maim me. She declared. I
- 1:14:17was afraid of him, and the next day I got the Sheriff's office to
- 1:14:21put him under a peace bond. He owed her seven hundred dollars in salary
- 1:14:26at the time, she says in her union, the American Guild, a
- 1:14:29variety artists, took Ruby to court and a judge ordered him, after a
- 1:14:32pestuous scene, to pay up two fifty. That was two nights before the
- 1:14:40Kennedy assassination, so the same day they partied together that night. Earlier in
- 1:14:46the day he lost a court case where he owed her seven hundred dollars.
- 1:14:54Losing to me, said Jada, hurt his prestige, which always needed building
- 1:14:58up. Because he wasn't smart enough to own those two clubs for himself.
- 1:15:01Other people put up the money. He was interested in only one thing,
- 1:15:04and that's building up Jack Ruby. He even managed to be at the hospital
- 1:15:10before mister Kennedy died. She said that fits in with his idea that he
- 1:15:15should be around big events and prominent people. He expressed great bitterness at Oswald
- 1:15:20I was told. He said the good image of Dallas was destroyed, and
- 1:15:25he went back to the club and told his employees that he hoped somebody would
- 1:15:29redeem the prestige of Dallas. By Sunday morning, the Stocky ex Chicago and
- 1:15:33had decided that he would act, and he did doubly, blackening the name
- 1:15:39of his adopted city. So now there is more from Jada now and then
- 1:15:48we have this little diddy Joe. Okay, so this is from missus William
- 1:16:01Hitty. The hell is that Hitty fiddy Hitty, Missus William Hitty Fitty Okay,
- 1:16:10I don't know, missus us, missus William Jay Hitty Okay Hitty.
- 1:16:19At noon on May tenth, nineteen sixty seven, I called for a cab
- 1:16:26from Saint Paul Hospital, and within minutes it arrived from the exchange Mark Cabs
- 1:16:34stand nearby. During the ride to my home, I asked the driver who
- 1:16:40he had been driving cabs in Dallas for sixteen years. If he had known
- 1:16:45William Wally, He answered that he had, that Wally had been one of
- 1:16:51his best friends for years. Okay, now this is the guy who supposedly
- 1:16:56took Oswald from the the Greyhound station to his rooming house in oak Cliffe.
- 1:17:02William Wally, the cab a few live passed nineteen sixty five. Either so
- 1:17:12he thought about Wally's death and replied or He answered that he had and that
- 1:17:16Wally had been one of his best friends for years. Then asked what he
- 1:17:21and other cab drivers thought about Wally's death, he replied, oh, they
- 1:17:26killed him. You know, a whole bunch of people here have been killed.
- 1:17:30And he went on to comment on that subject as well as the details
- 1:17:36of Wally's accident. He stated that he, as well as other cab drivers
- 1:17:42here know for a fact that Tippett had worked for Ruby as a bouncer in
- 1:17:45one of the clubs, and it seems to me, he said, he
- 1:17:48himself had driven Tippett to work there several times, as had other drivers.
- 1:17:56He also added that Oswald had worked for Ruby for a while. He remarked
- 1:18:00that he had known Ruby, what a character he was using the words real
- 1:18:04weirdo with his stack of one dollar bills topped by a ten or twenty.
- 1:18:14He said too that Ruby kept an apartment just off of the North Central Expressway
- 1:18:21for his girls, with some sorry unflattering remarks about those girls, and he
- 1:18:34had driven Ruby and those girls to and from that apartment many, many times.
- 1:18:40He also indicated that the relationship between Ruby and the girls was not quite
- 1:18:44a normal one. You know why, Joe, because he used to eat
- 1:18:51himself. Very good. You are learning, sir well. He told me
- 1:18:57too that some reporter not from Dallas had rented Oswald's now unrentable room for a
- 1:19:03week just to go over it carefully inch by inch, and doing so,
- 1:19:08he found Jack Ruby's telephone number written underneath a corner of torn wallpaper in Oswald's
- 1:19:15rooming house. I regret that I did not get either the man's name or
- 1:19:20cab number. It is a fifteen to twenty minute drive from the hospital to
- 1:19:24my home, and this discussion lasted for most of that time. We sat
- 1:19:29in front of the house a few minutes more to continue talking. But how's
- 1:19:34that for something weird? I saw that document, I'm like, Wow,
- 1:19:39there's a lot there to unpack. So Jack under a piece of torn wallpaper
- 1:19:45in the rooming house. Have you ever seen that? And never seen or
- 1:19:49heard that before? Part of the list like of inventory items, never there.
- 1:19:57So here is a part of a Garrison interview with somebody and I don't
- 1:20:02know who it is, just just it starts with F their last name.
- 1:20:13Uh and this is wild okay, so F says yeah. And then Boxley
- 1:20:20Bill Boxley when he moved into an apartment next to a Ruby stripper named Robin
- 1:20:28Hood. Ruby had two or three strippers in this apartment house at four oh
- 1:20:31one to five Simpson Larry Smith moved into the middle of them and they set
- 1:20:38up operations at the Charm Club. Well, anyhow, father McCann was in
- 1:20:44that area with the Cuban meetings. They've since torn the house down. T
- 1:20:50what a scenario we've got here, father McCann and Robin Hood. Boxley says,
- 1:20:57it gets wild. Said what about a guy named Charles Cropp. Garrison
- 1:21:02says that sure sounds familiar. Oxley, Yeah, I've heard that. Well
- 1:21:08you should have heard it. He's a Chicagoan who ties together Shawl and Ferry.
- 1:21:14Oh. He called us about a year ago Is that where you got
- 1:21:16that from a short memo? Yeah, I recently came across with reviewing the
- 1:21:21files and he said that I think before the assassination he had been working with
- 1:21:26some Cubans in an anti Castro operation fundraising or something, and they indicated in
- 1:21:30New Orleans that Shaw and Ferry were connected with them. We wanted to get
- 1:21:34more information from him, but he said that he was afraid to give it
- 1:21:38to us, and he backed out of it. And that's the Well,
- 1:21:42I think I can get a guy to move him, because he made a
- 1:21:45tape of a conversation at the request of the FBI and sent the FBI copy
- 1:21:48of it. This was before the assassination and he didn't think about this again
- 1:21:53until you reopened your investigation. He still got the tape. Well, that
- 1:21:57would be great if well, we're not screwing anything up. Well, you
- 1:22:01know, I didn't know what you had done with it and didn't want to.
- 1:22:04He got scared of death. And we usually put them on the side
- 1:22:08and hope that they will relax a little. And te says, all right,
- 1:22:14I've got a guy in Chicago that might be able to do him,
- 1:22:18to do him, to do him now, we've all heard about father McCann
- 1:22:25before. You know, with the Oudeo Sisters. He was in the Cuban
- 1:22:32community big time. So now he's also hanging around Jack Ruby strippers as well.
- 1:22:40And we'll get I think we will get back. Well, I thought
- 1:22:46I had something else on Robin Hood. Rob We might have to do a
- 1:22:53part two of this because it goes so deep. Now hold on, okay,
- 1:23:00Well, you know we were just dovetailing on the last episode, right
- 1:23:05of course. So Nancy Powell Tammy, true, right, this might be
- 1:23:12where you can put up some of my pictures I sent you there, Chief
- 1:23:16Nancy Powell. And this is from November twenty fifth, sixty three, an
- 1:23:23interview with her by the FBI. Miss Powell first became acquainted with Jack Ruby
- 1:23:32five years ago when he was operating the Vegas Club in Dallas. Miss Powell
- 1:23:36often went to the Vegas Club as a customer. Since she has been dancing
- 1:23:40at the Carousel Club, she has become well acquainted with Jack Ruby, who
- 1:23:44is the owner of the operator of the Carondel Club and considers him a close
- 1:23:47personal friend. Miss Powell has never dated Jack Ruby and has never known Ruby
- 1:23:54to date girls from the show at the Carousel. However, Ruby does date
- 1:23:59girls regular, some of whom appear in other clubs in Dallas. Ms Powell
- 1:24:03said that Ruby was quote definitely not a homo unquote. Ruby's general relationships with
- 1:24:12his employees was good. However, Ruby had the type of temperament that would
- 1:24:15cause him to lose his temper and yell at his employees, but after he
- 1:24:18had gotten the grievance off his chest, he would forget about it. Powell
- 1:24:24said she last saw Jack Ruby on the evening of November nineteenth and has not
- 1:24:28seen him or talk to him since that time. She quit her job at
- 1:24:31the Carousel on November nineteenth because of the difficulties she had commuting between Fort Worth
- 1:24:36and Dallas. She felt that the club was solvent financially and that Jack Ruby
- 1:24:45had no financial difficulties. Ruby has what she believes is a fifty percent interest
- 1:24:50in the club, in the other half is owned by Ralph Paul, who
- 1:24:54operates the Bullpen in Arlington, Texas and lives on a rural route in Arlington.
- 1:25:04And she talks a little bit about Jada. She says this incident involved
- 1:25:09a dancer by the name of Jada who was from New Orleans and has been
- 1:25:13dancing at the club for two or three months. Ruby cautioned Jada concerning some
- 1:25:17obscenity in her act and had instructed her to clean it up. One night,
- 1:25:21Ruby was forced to turn off the lights on Jada's act when he felt
- 1:25:26that she was way out of line for removing her g string. An argument
- 1:25:32ensued after this incident, and Ruby refused to pay Jada and according to Jada,
- 1:25:38threatened to throw her down the stairs. And Jada allegedly swore out a
- 1:25:44complaint against Jack Ruby and went before the judge and all that. Jazz.
- 1:25:55I don't get why she turned around on hearing the news and went back to
- 1:26:00Alice. I don't know. It's very strange, I have to say,
- 1:26:10very all right. Next up we have Nujada an interview with nud Jada,
- 1:26:19not Jada, but nu Jada. Missus. Paul Calgrove was interviewed that she
- 1:26:29is also known as Beatrice Callgrove and has the theatrical stadium on Jada. She
- 1:26:34stated she is presently residing in Passing, Texas. Blah blah blah blah.
- 1:26:42She had an argument with Ruby at the bar of the Carousel on New year's
- 1:26:45Eve sixty one about the confused manner in which Ruby carried on his entertainment business.
- 1:26:53He slapped her in the face, and she then spoke to a lieutenant
- 1:26:58or captain of the Dallas Vice Squad who was in the club at the time,
- 1:27:01stating that she wanted to press charges against Ruby and the presence of Ruby.
- 1:27:05The officer laughed at her and told her she was crazy. She then
- 1:27:11took her problem to Jack Cole, American Guild of Variety of Artists representatives and
- 1:27:15booking agent, who said the problem was not in his jurisdiction. From time
- 1:27:19to time she noticed numerous police officers enter the Carousel Club and go into Ruby's
- 1:27:24office, after which they would be observed leaving the club with bottles of whiskey
- 1:27:29under their arms. She recalled that one dancer, Kathy Kay, a white
- 1:27:33female about twenty three, blonde headed from England, was given a car by
- 1:27:38Ruby and he went with her for a period of time. She stated Kay
- 1:27:43could be traced by Jack Cole of AGVA for contact, and according to Najada,
- 1:27:49Ruby had a mistress on the side who was not employed at the club,
- 1:27:56but who came and went at will and frequented the club. He was
- 1:28:00described as a white female with light brown hair cut long in a ponytail,
- 1:28:04about five foot five, one hundred and fifteen pounds late twenties, reportedly a
- 1:28:10secretary in Dallas, Texas that Ruby claimed he had been keeping for some five
- 1:28:15to six years. Ruby failed to ever disclose this woman's identity. Interesting.
- 1:28:26I wonder if she worked at like the Dallas Morning News or something where he
- 1:28:30would put in ads, or what the school book depository? Yeah? Or
- 1:28:34yeah? I mean, who knows? There there wasn't a shortage of women
- 1:28:40on the other floors of the TSBD. Yes, here's the other interesting Robin
- 1:28:45Hood Okay, surely Anne Mauldon was her real name, also known as Miss
- 1:28:51Robin s. Hood, was interviewed at the Douglas County Jail Joe at Oh
- 1:28:59my Jha, Nebraska. Oh Maha, is this my surprise? Yes.
- 1:29:08She worked for Jack Ruby as a dancer for one week at the Carousel Club
- 1:29:12shortly after this club opened in nineteen sixty two. She had known Ruby since
- 1:29:17she was a small girl in Dallas, but had very little personal contact with
- 1:29:24him except for the period that she worked for him, about two and a
- 1:29:28half months ago, believed by her to have been on the night of her
- 1:29:32release from the Dallas City Jail, where she was held on a drunk and
- 1:29:35disorderly charged for two days. She dated a Dallas attorney whom she only knew
- 1:29:44by the first name of Carol. Ringing any bells, Joseph ringing any bells
- 1:29:54down there in the comments section. Mm hmmm, Carol Jarnigan. That's what
- 1:30:03I was gonna say. But wasn't Wasn't that one of the TSBD workers.
- 1:30:11No, he was. He was a lawyer. He stated that he observed
- 1:30:18Ruby and Oswald together in the Carousel Club, Okay, and he was scared
- 1:30:25of death. Remember Barry Ernest in his book The Girl on the Stairs went
- 1:30:28to talk to him and he was scared to death and smoking chain smoking cigarettes
- 1:30:34in this little office. Yeah. Now what is uh? What is one
- 1:30:42of the guys Colleen? That was the episode Caroling through the Night? What
- 1:30:47a previous Yeah? Okay, So here we have corroborated by a dancer,
- 1:30:59former dancer known Jack Ruby since she was a little kid. Okay. She
- 1:31:04dated the Dallas attorney whom she only knew by the first name of Carol.
- 1:31:10On this night she and Carol visited a few Dallas nightclubs, including the Carousel,
- 1:31:16and we're accompanied by no one. They stayed at the Carousel Club for
- 1:31:20about a forty five minute period, during which Ruby came to their table,
- 1:31:27greeted her, and she introduced Ruby to Carol. She stated this visit by
- 1:31:33Ruby was brief, and she described it as an apparent attempt by Ruby to
- 1:31:38get her to work for him again. So this is where Carol john Agan
- 1:31:45could have possibly met Jack Ruby and then overheard this conversation at the other table
- 1:31:50between Jack Ruby and whoever he was talking to, Larry Crayford or whatever,
- 1:31:55Lee Oswald, whatever. Leon Molden stated that Lee Harvey Oswald was not known
- 1:32:00to her and she had never heard of this individual prior to his arrest by
- 1:32:05Dallas police in connection with the shooting of President Kennedy on the night of her
- 1:32:12date with Carol. She overheard no conversation in the Carousel Club between Ruby and
- 1:32:18anyone, and she could recall no discussion regarding the shooting of the Governor of
- 1:32:23Texas, which is what Carol Jarnigan was saying. Malden did not believe Ruby
- 1:32:30served as a master of ceremonies at the Carousel Club on the night of her
- 1:32:32visit there with Carol, and she cannot recall him making any introduction to the
- 1:32:38audience of anyone. She was definite her recollection that she and Carol did not
- 1:32:44engage in any conversation regarding the reporting of anything they had overheard to the proper
- 1:32:49authorities. Malden stated that she that had she had any information such as overhearing
- 1:32:56a conversation between Ruby and Oswald in which they discussed the shooting of the Governor
- 1:33:00of Texas, she would not have hesitated to report this information to the proper
- 1:33:05authorities. And this is from the FBI interview of December ninth, nineteen sixty
- 1:33:12three. So who do we believe there, Old Robin Hood who's known Jack
- 1:33:19Ruby since she was a little girl, or a Carol Johnagan. I don't
- 1:33:27trust lawyers. Come on now, come, come, come now. And
- 1:33:33then the last thing I got here is a FBI document from the Director from
- 1:33:45the Director of the FBI that will be Jaeger Huba to the Special Agent in
- 1:33:49charge of Dallas re Rep Special Agent Stuart Cameron, dated twelve three, sixty
- 1:33:56three at Albuquerque re Rep. Content Ayane's interview of a missus Leona Carolinko,
- 1:34:04Albuquerque, former stripper at Subjects Carousel Club, who describes subject as a homo
- 1:34:12sexual who recruited teenage boys for homosexual activities, and the event not already done.
- 1:34:18Missus Kirolinko should be thoroughly interviewed and information in her possession concerning homosexual act,
- 1:34:25motivation or homosexual activities of the subjects should be pinned down. Missus Kirolinko
- 1:34:33should be asked dates, times, places, associates and identities of individuals engaged
- 1:34:39in alleged homosexual activities with Jack Ruby. Information furnished by missus Kirolinko should be
- 1:34:45resolved. So see what always gets me, Joe, is you have,
- 1:34:54you know, these women saying that, oh, Jack Ruby was definitely not
- 1:34:59a homosexual. He was a nice guy, blah blah blah, very protective
- 1:35:04of his girls, blah blah blah. But then on the other hand,
- 1:35:08you have people that said that he was definitely a homosexual, definitely into weird
- 1:35:13stuff. Right. Remember when he was he took the girl back to his
- 1:35:17apartment to interview her, to try to get her to dance for him,
- 1:35:19and he just wanted to hump her leg to grind on her leg and she
- 1:35:25wouldn't let him. Like, just weird stuff. And there's accusations of beast
- 1:35:29reality between Jack Ruby and his dog. I mean, just weird, weird,
- 1:35:35weird, weird stuff. Okay, So I just don't know where to
- 1:35:42fall on it. I mean, who do we believe or was he showing
- 1:35:45different versions of himself to different people, which is a little more believable,
- 1:35:54like you know, like you know me like this, right, but maybe
- 1:36:00one of my other friends in real life sees me as a weirdo or a
- 1:36:03homosexual or whatever, you know what I'm saying. So I don't know if
- 1:36:10it's just you know, people see a different side of Jack Ruby, or
- 1:36:15if he's multiple or if he's a by It goes both ways and back then
- 1:36:19they just called it homicide. Who knows, Yeah, and not that it
- 1:36:24matters, but it's just a lot of odd behavior, you know, especially
- 1:36:30when you know he find out he's keeping another apartment where he puts these girls
- 1:36:34up. I'm sure he is getting girls for Dallas cops, getting them to
- 1:36:43do things for these cops and other important people in Dallas wouldn't put it past
- 1:36:47him one bit. They had an up there upstairs section where they would you
- 1:36:57know, I guess do the lop dances of the sixties up there. And
- 1:37:04a lot of the top strippers that dancers we've talked about denied that. That
- 1:37:13one picture I sent you of that book, This is Jack Ruby's Girls on
- 1:37:15the back. I put that up when you were talking earlier. Yeah,
- 1:37:19I know, but put it up now again again, okay, and again
- 1:37:29and again because I want to point something out here. So of course,
- 1:37:33after the assassination, a lot of people were trying to cash in on things,
- 1:37:40right, So there's a very obscure book out there. Not many copies
- 1:37:45were made. I've looked it up on the internet. The cheapest one I
- 1:37:47could find like one hundred and fifty bucks. It's called Jack Ruby's Girls.
- 1:37:51If Joe could ever pull it up here, yeah, I get you one
- 1:37:55second. It was written by Diana Hunter, who was Diana of the Huntress,
- 1:38:01one of his strippers, and another one I can't remember her name or
- 1:38:04off the top of my head. All right, it's coming up now.
- 1:38:21Come on, give me a break here Jeopardy theme song, Give me a
- 1:38:25break here, Come on, blow it up, Joe dirty. Okay,
- 1:38:36it's a funny book about the sad and tawdry millia of man and a place
- 1:38:41where dirty ankle sex was the basic product. Tell us about the girls who
- 1:38:46worked at Ruby's Carousel Club, how they built customers and were frequently counterbuilt.
- 1:38:51It's not an erotic book, but a baldy one. Jack Ruby was a
- 1:38:56jangling mosaic of eccentric eccenti history. Oh shit, Jack Ruby was a jangling
- 1:39:02mosaic of eccentricities. And while we probably will never know why he did what
- 1:39:09he did, the book helps explain the things that made him what he was.
- 1:39:14And it is definitely a nineteen seventies book through and through. But pop
- 1:39:17up that quote again. I don't know if he showed that from before?
- 1:39:21Which one the quote that I sent you the other picture? Not that that
- 1:39:27one. No, not her, not the jazz singer. I know that
- 1:39:33quote. This was Their book was dedicated in loving memory of Jack Ruby,
- 1:39:40our raging boss, our faithful friend, the kindest hearted son of a bitch
- 1:39:45we ever knew. I think that's an amazing summary. Actually, now I'm
- 1:39:53serious. I think he was loyal to his girls. I think he was
- 1:39:59kind heart. Did I think he was the son of a bitch and but
- 1:40:03he had his rage, which I can definitely understand. And he was,
- 1:40:10as we discussed in our last episode with the author who had wrote the book
- 1:40:15a biography on Jack Ruby, he was very concerned about his image, concerned
- 1:40:19about his image compared to the Weinsteins right across the street. He was very
- 1:40:27aware of this. This is what got him into the fight with Jada was
- 1:40:32that she was pulling her g string and he had to turn the lights off.
- 1:40:36So it's a very interesting and fascinating multitude of stories and we might maybe
- 1:40:49do a part two after this if if people like it enough. We haven't.
- 1:40:57We can go deep on some strippers. Bro, I think we just
- 1:41:00did Joe. Well, we can go deeper. But anyway, that's what
- 1:41:05she said. All right, that's it for this week. We hope you
- 1:41:12enjoyed the show. Thanks for hanging out with us. Thank you so much,
- 1:41:15guys for all the super chat superstickers send our way fan Yes, chilled

- 1:41:41is a pee word. Take all the theme panties, strings pulling,
