- 2:02Speaker 2: We're going to start with basketball. Guys, can you not
- 2:05Speaker 2: hear cees? We can fix that.
- 2:06Speaker 5: No, I forgot a different HITSUF.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You're good.
- 2:10Speaker 7: Baseball and the manual Class A you can you believe that.
- 2:14Speaker 2: No betting on balls.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I didn't even know they had prop bets like that,
- 2:19Speaker 1: nor the next pitch is going to be a ball.
- 2:21Speaker 8: I mean, we're talking about guys whos gonna make six
- 2:22Speaker 8: point five million a year and he's getting twelve thousand
- 2:25Speaker 8: dollars cut out of this.
- 2:26Speaker 7: What is what in the world.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Oh, they make a lot of money, but they spend
- 2:32Speaker 1: a lot of money more.
- 2:35Speaker 2: That was stupid. That's really stupid.
- 2:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And career, oh yeah, finding right.
- 2:41Speaker 7: Yeah, and he faces a sixty possibility of sixty five
- 2:44Speaker 7: years in prison, Like.
- 2:46Speaker 2: That's that's worse than twelve thousand dollars.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you got your fallow Off book in prison.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Hey, we're not done with this by a long. No,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm afraid I may not buy a long. But you know,
- 2:58Speaker 1: he was calling guys from the dugout out. He was, Yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 1: it's crazy, man, It's just it is crazy. It's just nuts.
- 3:07Speaker 7: I was reading the story of the Athletic today and
- 3:09Speaker 7: it's just like, you know, he won these guys four
- 3:11Speaker 7: hundred and sixty thousand dollars and he got twelve thousand,
- 3:14Speaker 7: like twelve thousand per night when he did it. It
- 3:16Speaker 7: was crazy.
- 3:17Speaker 8: Like something stupid that these guys again, he's makes six
- 3:20Speaker 8: point five million, he's gonna be on their own figure
- 3:23Speaker 8: and probably on path to.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Be the closer of the years. Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So yeah, it makes no sense at all.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense. But like I said, we're
- 3:35Speaker 2: not through with this unfortunately. And this is.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Where we have gotten to when every other commercial on
- 3:43Speaker 1: television is about a betting service, and when you have
- 3:47Speaker 1: an instrument in your hand that you can make two
- 3:50Speaker 1: touches and make a bet, it is it is an epidemic,
- 3:56Speaker 1: and it's epidemic among young people, and it's epidemic among
- 4:00Speaker 1: college people. And here the ncuble A is advocating betting
- 4:05Speaker 1: on games or whatever it is they did a few
- 4:08Speaker 1: weeks ago. And we are not done by a long shot,
- 4:14Speaker 1: can you. We've just had a handful of people gotten
- 4:17Speaker 1: caught so far, can you? And I think back to
- 4:20Speaker 1: the Black Sox scandal, right with with Joe and he's
- 4:25Speaker 1: out of the Hall of Fame because he may or
- 4:27Speaker 1: may not have affected a game when he hit like
- 4:31Speaker 1: four hundred during that World Series, right, but these we're
- 4:35Speaker 1: talking college kids here. You know, we've had a couple
- 4:38Speaker 1: of betting scandals and what the last forty years sees
- 4:42Speaker 1: something like that, and now it is just if I'm
- 4:46Speaker 1: a coach, I am scared to death, said, because we've
- 4:49Speaker 1: had coaches in Baltimore fall of.
- 4:52Speaker 5: The money and unfortunately money's so readily. Yeah, and these
- 4:55Speaker 5: kids have money. Now, see these kids of money and
- 4:57Speaker 5: they want more of it. Yes, and so it's like, wow,
- 5:00Speaker 5: I can make how much money if I do what
- 5:01Speaker 5: for you?
- 5:02Speaker 9: Oh?
- 5:02Speaker 5: Man, I won't get caught. Oh that's that's great.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 5:06Speaker 1: All I have to do is go down before I
- 5:08Speaker 1: make a first down a half a yard short. That's
- 5:11Speaker 1: all just once, and you're gonna pay me ten thousand dollars.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Yeah, what's the game?
- 5:14Speaker 2: I mean, think about that, the pop dropped out of control.
- 5:17Speaker 1: All I have to do is is joink a field
- 5:20Speaker 1: goal from from forty yards and you're gonna pay me
- 5:22Speaker 1: how much?
- 5:23Speaker 5: We can still win? No deal?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Exactly, it's scary. It's scary.
- 5:27Speaker 8: Well they're talking about the basketball players intentionally missing shots.
- 5:30Speaker 8: Yeah right, I mean and the prop bets of what
- 5:32Speaker 8: is crazy on this because like you said, so they
- 5:35Speaker 8: can still you know, legitimately say hey, we're gonna win
- 5:38Speaker 8: a game. And class was gonna throw. It was all
- 5:40Speaker 8: about whether he's gonna throw his fastball or his slider.
- 5:43Speaker 7: So he was throwing a slider at ninety one. So
- 5:46Speaker 7: that's I mean, and it's good. The guy swung and
- 5:48Speaker 7: miss that at a pitch there was supposed to be
- 5:50Speaker 7: a ball, yeah, and but it didn't matter because it
- 5:53Speaker 7: was the speed not the strike.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 7: And so I mean he threw he threw a slider
- 5:58Speaker 7: in the dirt. The guy got the guy out, and
- 6:00Speaker 7: then that was the picture, you know, I mean that
- 6:02Speaker 7: was one episode there.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 7: Anyway, it's just crazy, you know.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Because I hate now is you can make prop bets
- 6:09Speaker 5: in the quarter and a half and so once again,
- 6:11Speaker 5: your team could be winning or losing by play. You
- 6:14Speaker 5: could say, you're not gonna hurt your team, but I'm
- 6:16Speaker 5: gonna make money. You're gonna make how much money?
- 6:17Speaker 8: I'm just saying, maybe the Rangers smart and trading that
- 6:20Speaker 8: Corey Kluber for that one inning.
- 6:22Speaker 7: You know, Corey Kluber looked good for that one.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It was pretty good for an inning.
- 6:25Speaker 7: One inning, you look sharp.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It was great the next year.
- 6:28Speaker 7: Yeah, not with Texas either. The no hitter gets the
- 6:32Speaker 7: Rangers though.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I just I think we're going down the path that
- 6:37Speaker 1: that we we just haven't scratched the surface on what
- 6:40Speaker 1: what's gonna come out, right.
- 6:42Speaker 5: But we've opened it up. The people in charge this up.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Hey see, sir taking the money. These gambling sites are
- 6:48Speaker 2: spending much money. Because they're making millions and millions of dollars.
- 6:51Speaker 7: They should have taken the World Series away from the
- 6:53Speaker 7: Astros and that was solid af.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Well, I'm all for that. As you know.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Yes, they're the first ones cheat right.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Right, but the first place to get caught.
- 7:02Speaker 7: They just weren't.
- 7:03Speaker 2: They just weren't very.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Good at the head is less sophisticated system.
- 7:07Speaker 2: All right, let's go to bucket ball. Hit a little
- 7:09Speaker 2: snag again.
- 7:10Speaker 7: That was ugly, a little snag, you know. But what
- 7:12Speaker 7: I really appreciated was Bucky's talk after the game.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I get to hear him.
- 7:16Speaker 8: Well, he basically he said, this is unacceptable, unacceptable because
- 7:21Speaker 8: we were not the team playing the hardest yesterday. And
- 7:24Speaker 8: I said, he said, that will change. That is not
- 7:27Speaker 8: going to be our trademark. He said, you know, I
- 7:29Speaker 8: can forgive the team for missing shots. I can forgive
- 7:31Speaker 8: him for being selfish with the shots. I cannot forgive
- 7:34Speaker 8: the lack of physicality and effort, and I just I
- 7:37Speaker 8: loved it.
- 7:37Speaker 7: He's like, that's gonna change.
- 7:40Speaker 8: So it was refreshing to hear that, yes, as opposed
- 7:43Speaker 8: to I will listen to the Maryland kind of uh
- 7:47Speaker 8: post post game.
- 7:48Speaker 7: And it was baffling as well. He said, the problem
- 7:52Speaker 7: with the problem is that there's multiple problems. Oh my gosh,
- 7:56Speaker 7: I was like, but yeah, yesterday they didn't hit shots.
- 7:59Speaker 8: They did not and they didn't play defense. And that's
- 8:02Speaker 8: what he was really upset about.
- 8:05Speaker 2: A lot of layups.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Yeah, a lot of layups.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And and and they had some threes. I mean, I
- 8:09Speaker 1: don't I don't know how good Oklahoma State is. A
- 8:12Speaker 1: and M probably made them look better than they're going
- 8:14Speaker 1: to be. But they have some players, they have some talent.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I'm a little concerned with. And and and He's talked
- 8:21Speaker 1: about this just one on one battles, right, because they
- 8:27Speaker 1: they've got guys that can play basketball. But but winning
- 8:32Speaker 1: one on one battles and defending, as you mentioned Rusty
- 8:35Speaker 1: is is probably an issue.
- 8:37Speaker 8: He said, that's the worst half court defense he's ever
- 8:39Speaker 8: seen at any level that he's coached.
- 8:41Speaker 2: He said, he called those guys out. I could agree with.
- 8:44Speaker 8: I mean, he just said, listen, that was a total
- 8:48Speaker 8: lack of effort on our part and that cannot happen.
- 8:51Speaker 8: And he said, you know what I mean again, when
- 8:54Speaker 8: shots are not falling, you're We've talked about that forever, right,
- 8:57Speaker 8: shots are not falling. Basketball is ugly, right, yes, And
- 9:00Speaker 8: that was ugly basketball yesterday. But the fact is that
- 9:04Speaker 8: they you know, I thought Oklahoma State played great defensively.
- 9:08Speaker 7: They were out in A and M shorts.
- 9:10Speaker 8: I mean they were like knocking the ball away and
- 9:13Speaker 8: the guards were having a hard time. And then when
- 9:15Speaker 8: the guards might would penetrate, I mean, they had shot
- 9:18Speaker 8: blockers down there low and that was something.
- 9:21Speaker 7: A and M.
- 9:21Speaker 8: And that's what Bucky also said this morning when I
- 9:23Speaker 8: heard him talk, He's like, we didn't have very good
- 9:25Speaker 8: help defense. He said, we're not a very good one
- 9:29Speaker 8: on one defensive team, so our team defense better be
- 9:33Speaker 8: dang good. Yes, and he said because and that's not
- 9:36Speaker 8: the first time he said that. No, no, no, he said,
- 9:38Speaker 8: you know, everybody can't be great at everything. We don't
- 9:41Speaker 8: have a great one on one defender, so we better
- 9:44Speaker 8: play team defense. We better play help defense, better shut
- 9:47Speaker 8: down the lane, and of course the big kid might
- 9:49Speaker 8: be coming back or might be coming on fry and
- 9:52Speaker 8: badka guess yeah, how do you say that name in.
- 9:54Speaker 7: Baca in Baca. Yeah, So he's like that'll be a
- 9:58Speaker 7: big help.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well, look, Pop, Isaacs is a long way from being
- 10:02Speaker 1: who he is, right, and he had barely practiced.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I understand. That's what I'm saying.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Royland Griffin's motor has never been great. I talked to
- 10:11Speaker 1: some people about that today. I mean, in all he's
- 10:14Speaker 1: he's a really good player. He helped Alabama go to
- 10:17Speaker 1: the Final four two years ago. Right, he hasn't been
- 10:20Speaker 1: real good so far, and he's going to have to
- 10:23Speaker 1: pick it up in this style of play, right, or
- 10:25Speaker 1: he's going to get fewer minutes.
- 10:27Speaker 8: Gauge is the only one, and tell me that's really
- 10:29Speaker 8: played well yesterday.
- 10:31Speaker 10: Uh.
- 10:31Speaker 1: You know, I like Marcus hills motor. You know, I
- 10:36Speaker 1: like Holloway, I like Laane, I like those guys. You know,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I just there, as you mentioned, there's gonna be ups
- 10:45Speaker 1: and downs.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Yeah, and you know.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You might as well have downs early.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And as he as he mentioned, he's gotten their attention
- 10:55Speaker 1: now in terms of how they're going to practice. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: bet it's a little bit different on Friday night. That's
- 11:01Speaker 1: I'm just betting.
- 11:02Speaker 7: I bet you it's a lot different today of practice.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no doubt.
- 11:05Speaker 7: I mean the way he sounded was pretty frustrated.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Oh and and rightly, so that was just a poor effort, right,
- 11:12Speaker 1: when you're trying to build stuff, it's a poor effort.
- 11:14Speaker 1: But you know what, They're gonna have other games like this.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There's no doubt about that. In my mind, they will
- 11:19Speaker 1: have other games like this.
- 11:22Speaker 2: But as you mentioned, Rusty, you can control the effort,
- 11:27Speaker 2: so we'll see.
- 11:28Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean that was he jump. It was agy
- 11:31Speaker 7: that that I was yeah. Agh.
- 11:35Speaker 2: He plays hard.
- 11:36Speaker 8: He played really hard even yesterday, yes and he was
- 11:39Speaker 8: like and even Bucky singled him out.
- 11:41Speaker 7: He's like, that's the only kid that did play really
- 11:43Speaker 7: hard yesterday.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And I watched him three times and he's played hard
- 11:47Speaker 1: every time. And I think that's a fifth year senior.
- 11:49Speaker 1: That's that's doing it.
- 11:50Speaker 7: I don't like him shooting the three.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I do not like him shooting three.
- 11:55Speaker 7: He made one yesterday.
- 11:56Speaker 5: That's bad.
- 11:57Speaker 7: That's bad.
- 11:58Speaker 2: That's the first one. He's mad.
- 12:00Speaker 7: I'm with you.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I don't like him shooting I don't either.
- 12:02Speaker 7: I don't either.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I just I don't ask him about that. Maybe i'll
- 12:07Speaker 2: do that tomorrow.
- 12:07Speaker 7: We'll see, Yeah, ask him about that. I mean, I
- 12:09Speaker 7: guess he's got permission.
- 12:10Speaker 8: But yeah, yeah, when you went in, when the shot
- 12:13Speaker 8: went in yesterday, I looked at my wife.
- 12:14Speaker 2: That's a good that's a bad thing.
- 12:18Speaker 7: Now. I think she's gonna be shooting them out.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But nobody's shot was going in yesterday.
- 12:22Speaker 7: No, it wasn't. And there'll be days like that. Like
- 12:25Speaker 7: you said, there's going to be because but there's gonna
- 12:28Speaker 7: be shooting days like that. But that's when you have
- 12:31Speaker 7: to play such good defense to keep yourself in the game. Yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 7: And they didn't do either one of those things. Yesterday.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They were minus six turnovers. They only turned over Oklahoma
- 12:40Speaker 1: State nine times. They had fifteen, and they're going to
- 12:44Speaker 1: turn the ball over, by the way, just by virtue
- 12:46Speaker 1: of how they play. So they need to keep that
- 12:49Speaker 1: plus minus fairly even in terms of turnovers. And that's
- 12:53Speaker 1: all seasoned long because they are going to turn the
- 12:55Speaker 1: ball over.
- 12:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 8: I thought Oklahoma State did a great job and we're
- 12:58Speaker 8: gonna see that with with good teams have good teams
- 13:02Speaker 8: are gonna have.
- 13:02Speaker 7: Good athletes, and that's the issue.
- 13:05Speaker 8: Do Mingus couldn't get a shot off yesterday at all
- 13:07Speaker 8: because you know their defense was too quick. Yes, And
- 13:12Speaker 8: they're gonna say that a lot in the sec.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You know, Griffin's kind of the same way in terms
- 13:16Speaker 1: of getting the shot off. You know, he's not great
- 13:19Speaker 1: creating his own own shot. You know, uh Pop can
- 13:24Speaker 1: create his own shot. But he's taking away He was
- 13:26Speaker 1: one for eight from threes he needs. He's taking way
- 13:29Speaker 1: too many three point shots.
- 13:30Speaker 7: Yeah, and you know, he threw up that airball that
- 13:33Speaker 7: the Oklahoma State fans never let him forget the entire game,
- 13:38Speaker 7: and then he forced the only the one shot I
- 13:40Speaker 7: thought I liked was when he got fouled and he
- 13:44Speaker 7: forced that up and got three free throws.
- 13:46Speaker 8: I don't know if you remember that, Yes I do.
- 13:48Speaker 8: That was a good shot in that he recognized it.
- 13:51Speaker 8: But some of the three pointers he took were like, no,
- 13:53Speaker 8: that's not a good shot at all.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, he didn't.
- 13:56Speaker 1: He didn't take good shots, and I think he'll be
- 13:58Speaker 1: better even way Taylor.
- 14:00Speaker 7: Watch that and say that's not a good shot.
- 14:02Speaker 5: I was going to say, listen to you guys, they
- 14:04Speaker 5: need a three point shot.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Shooting. They didn't.
- 14:06Speaker 5: They didn't.
- 14:07Speaker 2: They didn't shoot well yesterday.
- 14:08Speaker 1: You know when we say this every year when the
- 14:11Speaker 1: ball when the ball didn't go in the basket, you
- 14:13Speaker 1: look terrible. When it goes in the basket, you look
- 14:15Speaker 1: like world beaters, you know then then, but and yesterday
- 14:18Speaker 1: it didn't go in.
- 14:19Speaker 5: It's why buzz This team looked bad a lot of
- 14:20Speaker 5: times because they couldn't shoot.
- 14:21Speaker 2: They didn't shoot. You know, I think they shoots a
- 14:23Speaker 2: little better than that.
- 14:24Speaker 7: What did they did him shoot from the field yesterday?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Let me check.
- 14:28Speaker 1: They were nine for thirty five from three, which is
- 14:31Speaker 1: twenty five percent. You'd like to be about thirty three percent,
- 14:36Speaker 1: you know, right in there?
- 14:37Speaker 7: What were they overall?
- 14:38Speaker 10: Overall?
- 14:39Speaker 1: They were twenty for sixty two, So that's pretty bad.
- 14:44Speaker 7: What's the percentage on that?
- 14:44Speaker 2: That would be thirty two point three percent?
- 14:49Speaker 8: Seven percent better than what Maryland shot in their game?
- 14:53Speaker 1: They shot twenty five percent, yes, from the field. Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: well it's Saturday. They're in mid season form.
- 14:59Speaker 7: Yeah up there, Maryland, they just slow down. Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm trying to decide if you're taking greater pleasure in
- 15:07Speaker 1: the fact that Maryland loss, or there's more pain than
- 15:11Speaker 1: the fact that A and M.
- 15:13Speaker 8: I'm taking I'm taking pleasure in the Maryland los I've
- 15:20Speaker 8: taken a lot of pleasure there, Alight. That's in the
- 15:22Speaker 8: fact that they shot twenty five percent thrilled.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Yeah, but when it got closer to the rim, it
- 15:27Speaker 5: went up to fifty six percent.
- 15:29Speaker 7: And the fact it was their first home loss, home
- 15:32Speaker 7: opener loss in.
- 15:33Speaker 8: Forty eight years made me happy. No way, Yeah, Maryland
- 15:36Speaker 8: first home opening they lose to. They lost to uh, Georgetown.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Okay, well Georgetown the little good they're good, They're not great.
- 15:44Speaker 5: Turns out Buzz thought it was Georgetown or Georgetown State. Georgetown.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Well, at first I saw that g I was like,
- 15:52Speaker 2: is that Gonzaga, And then like, no, it's George.
- 15:55Speaker 1: If it had been a Gonzaga that lost by fifty, yeah, exactly. Okay,
- 15:58Speaker 1: that's enough paper, are going talk football?
- 16:02Speaker 5: Come on, Solomon Washington is not playing, he's not heard. Yeah, renegotiation, No, maybe.
- 16:08Speaker 2: He is renegotiat.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Arrel Payne had a decent game, it looked like.
- 16:11Speaker 2: But anyway, all right, let's talk a little football.
- 16:15Speaker 5: You might want to do that.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, nine and zero South Carolina coming in the team
- 16:21Speaker 1: that beat them. We were reminded today ceased by twenty five.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You know, we were a quarterback that ran all over
- 16:26Speaker 1: him and passed all over him.
- 16:27Speaker 5: I love the Alex Snyer laughing. Do you realize Elcho
- 16:32Speaker 5: doesn't want you to talk about last year, but he
- 16:34Speaker 5: brings up last year when it's good for them, Because
- 16:36Speaker 5: he brought up yesterday today about last year what Leonoris
- 16:40Speaker 5: Sellers did, and I laughed when someone asked about last year.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Then he was okay, Well, he said, this is the
- 16:46Speaker 1: same team that beat us by twenty five last year,
- 16:48Speaker 1: And I said, no, it's the same school.
- 16:50Speaker 7: It's not the same team, right.
- 16:54Speaker 5: That definitely the linemen are gone.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Yeah. He I loved the way he approached that today
- 16:59Speaker 7: when I was listening to US conference and he's like,
- 17:01Speaker 7: you know, he looked like the same guy to me.
- 17:03Speaker 7: He looked the same guy who threw all all over
- 17:05Speaker 7: us and ran all over us, and you know we
- 17:07Speaker 7: expect the same guy. Yeah, I mean it was good.
- 17:10Speaker 10: You know what.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I got no problem with that, Yeah, because it's right
- 17:13Speaker 1: because he's good enough.
- 17:14Speaker 2: No, he this kid's good enough to beat you.
- 17:17Speaker 1: No, he is good enough, You're right, and he's come close.
- 17:20Speaker 1: A couple of times against really good teams. Yes, and
- 17:23Speaker 1: I'm I'm not trying to help elcho out. I'm just
- 17:25Speaker 1: saying not eighteen and a half point spread seems And
- 17:30Speaker 1: I know they just beat Missouri by twenty one.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I get, and Missouri's a better team in South Carolina.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I get that it doesn't always work that way, but
- 17:37Speaker 1: in a conference game that seems like a lot it does.
- 17:40Speaker 8: And then you know, if I'm gonna pick it, I
- 17:42Speaker 8: guarantee you I'm gonna pick it wrong. It GA's with
- 17:44Speaker 8: the line because it is so hard to pick it,
- 17:47Speaker 8: really hard.
- 17:47Speaker 2: They've been they have because they're storing. They can score,
- 17:51Speaker 2: yes they can, and they really I thought this was.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Gored a lot without really trying.
- 17:57Speaker 2: They didn't get to forty they probably could have.
- 17:59Speaker 5: They could, and they didn't throw the ball down field.
- 18:02Speaker 2: They they didn't have to, and I thought.
- 18:04Speaker 5: They wanted to get get a win and get out
- 18:06Speaker 5: of there, don't do anything outrageous. But once again, this
- 18:09Speaker 5: is part of the revenge tour, and you look what they've.
- 18:12Speaker 8: Went when they got when Missouri scored the long touchdown
- 18:15Speaker 8: run to make it thirty one to seventeen, right, I
- 18:18Speaker 8: was like, Okay, well, let's see what this team does,
- 18:20Speaker 8: because if they get a three and out here, yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 8: this place is gonna be going wow and and m.
- 18:25Speaker 8: That touchdown drive was probably the most impressive drive I've
- 18:28Speaker 8: seen in a longtly on the ground, mostly on the
- 18:31Speaker 8: grounds in Blowing Missouri.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And this and this is what I talked about after
- 18:36Speaker 1: the game Saturday, that this team, the line is good
- 18:42Speaker 1: enough that in the fourth it's like a point guard
- 18:44Speaker 1: in basketball. I'm going to go back to basketball when
- 18:47Speaker 1: the last two or three minutes you want that point
- 18:50Speaker 1: guard who shoots ninety percent free throws to have the
- 18:53Speaker 1: ball in his hand. Right, this offensive line is controlling
- 18:57Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. Not only are they are they keeping
- 19:02Speaker 1: the lead, they're extending the lead in the fourth quarter,
- 19:07Speaker 1: with the exception of Arkansas. Right, I mean, that's all
- 19:09Speaker 1: I want. But hey, they won, and that's all that
- 19:13Speaker 1: if you.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Want a nitpick.
- 19:14Speaker 1: And at this point, it's time to start because the
- 19:18Speaker 1: price of poker is about to go up.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Here in a few weeks.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Right, they can't give up two hundred yards rushing on
- 19:24Speaker 1: the ground.
- 19:25Speaker 7: They can't. They didn't tackle well well, and they didn't
- 19:28Speaker 7: fit well.
- 19:29Speaker 1: You know, they've they've given up the two big runs,
- 19:31Speaker 1: and and Olan asks that except for the two big runs,
- 19:35Speaker 1: and Elko is like, I don't do that.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because you can't do except for the two
- 19:39Speaker 2: big runs.
- 19:39Speaker 5: You take the two big runs away, they're still over
- 19:42Speaker 5: one hundred yards, yes, which is too many, and that
- 19:44Speaker 5: we've seen that problem all the time. Begetting back with
- 19:46Speaker 5: what you said, Chip, they can control the line of scrimmage,
- 19:50Speaker 5: the line of scrimmage league, and Missouri didn't win any
- 19:53Speaker 5: part of them in the last eight minutes because they
- 19:54Speaker 5: were beat up like uls. You didn't fence, couldn't do
- 19:58Speaker 5: anything correct, and our offense wasn't able to keep their
- 20:01Speaker 5: defense off the field. And Ain't m just hammered them.
- 20:04Speaker 5: You know.
- 20:05Speaker 8: I think Missouri was his own worst enemy in the
- 20:07Speaker 8: play call. In a lot of times, I was like
- 20:09Speaker 8: that that kid had such a hard time getting going
- 20:11Speaker 8: and talking about the freshman quarterbacks.
- 20:13Speaker 7: So they throw the go route like eight nine times.
- 20:16Speaker 8: It was way too many times on a very low
- 20:19Speaker 8: percentage play, and they kept on going to it.
- 20:22Speaker 7: I was like, get the guy. I mean, if you're
- 20:23Speaker 7: going to try to get the little swing passing the
- 20:27Speaker 7: easiest pass you can possibly call.
- 20:29Speaker 8: And then you know, and he completed one of them,
- 20:32Speaker 8: and the receiver matter great catch.
- 20:34Speaker 7: I mean early on.
- 20:35Speaker 8: So they had that long run on the first the
- 20:37Speaker 8: first play of the game for them, the first offensive play.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Then they had that long pass. Other than that, that
- 20:41Speaker 2: was it.
- 20:42Speaker 7: That was it the first time.
- 20:43Speaker 5: And they didn't do high percentage. And I think also
- 20:46Speaker 5: what happened is that guy I watched a little bit
- 20:48Speaker 5: of the vendor but game he looked good, Hey did,
- 20:50Speaker 5: But now he had two weeks to prepare and you're
- 20:53Speaker 5: weeks to think, to think, and it looked like the
- 20:56Speaker 5: game was way too fast.
- 20:57Speaker 2: For him, no doubt.
- 20:58Speaker 7: Yeah, and it was.
- 21:00Speaker 5: You gonna remember he was went in the season as
- 21:02Speaker 5: the third string quarterback and he's under some pressure. He's
- 21:05Speaker 5: under pressure well, and he.
- 21:06Speaker 7: Didn't make a critical mistake until late in that second
- 21:09Speaker 7: half when the sack that returned. You know what I mean,
- 21:12Speaker 7: because it was almost seven to nothing at that point.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Correct that late in the first half, late in.
- 21:15Speaker 7: The first half, yes, and so late in the first
- 21:18Speaker 7: half seven that was the ball game. That was a
- 21:19Speaker 7: huge play to me.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Back to you, uh, Rusty, the play took too long
- 21:24Speaker 5: to develop.
- 21:25Speaker 7: Right, so you know you knew he was gonna make
- 21:27Speaker 7: a mistake. By that point, I had already said, like, man,
- 21:30Speaker 7: this kid's gonna make a costly mistake here.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I can just tell.
- 21:34Speaker 5: And he did, and he turned around, wasn't even looking
- 21:36Speaker 5: to the Bard side, and he couldn't keep the ball
- 21:38Speaker 5: that long.
- 21:38Speaker 7: And you say, you've got to get rid of the pack.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Called that coach, Yeah, you're in that team. That's what
- 21:43Speaker 2: I think. I took of some lousy play calls.
- 21:46Speaker 5: I think if they go to the half seven nothing,
- 21:48Speaker 5: then the kid can maybe be a little bit of
- 21:50Speaker 5: confident when you go fourteen. Oh, and you just screwed
- 21:52Speaker 5: the game up to get.
- 21:53Speaker 8: It, because at that point I didn't know if Missouri's
- 21:55Speaker 8: going to score, you know what I mean. They came
- 21:57Speaker 8: out and they played much better offensively, and they ran
- 22:00Speaker 8: the football and you know, and them gave up one
- 22:04Speaker 8: really big time drive. I thought, yeah, but uh yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 8: I thought if the same thing. So I thought, if
- 22:10Speaker 8: they're gonna get it seven to nothing going on the half,
- 22:12Speaker 8: they gotta feel pretty good.
- 22:14Speaker 5: That's what I thought at that point.
- 22:15Speaker 8: But then when I when when An went up fourteen,
- 22:17Speaker 8: I was like, oh man, I feel a lot better.
- 22:19Speaker 5: You watched Missouri walking off the field at halftime. They
- 22:23Speaker 5: were beat because.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I'm telling you that that one play that was the
- 22:26Speaker 1: ball came right and I think everybody went along.
- 22:29Speaker 5: With the fake punt.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I thought they what a great call, great call, Well
- 22:32Speaker 1: that worked, but what a great It's a great call
- 22:35Speaker 1: when it works, right, yes, sir.
- 22:36Speaker 8: And that that there was that one uh Missouri defender
- 22:40Speaker 8: who was fault. He was at his back, I mean
- 22:42Speaker 8: he was running down the field away exactly.
- 22:45Speaker 5: I mean they did max from return.
- 22:48Speaker 7: It was a beautiful call, perfect time. It results in
- 22:51Speaker 7: a field goal. But it was like, that's a huge
- 22:53Speaker 7: tournament events because AND's gonna turn the ball right back over,
- 22:57Speaker 7: you know, and that place is.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Gonna get what you have it done. Yeah, still have ane.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Their defense come off the field jacked up. You could
- 23:04Speaker 5: tell them. You talk about a perfect timing because like
- 23:06Speaker 5: you said, it was only a field goal, but no,
- 23:08Speaker 5: it was the momentum. They knew they were gonna get
- 23:10Speaker 5: the ball back. They felt so good and here they're
- 23:13Speaker 5: going to go back out and play defensive.
- 23:14Speaker 7: Yep, that was a huge play.
- 23:16Speaker 2: You know what.
- 23:17Speaker 1: The other thing that strikes me so much speed on
- 23:20Speaker 1: the field on both sides of the football, right, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: and they're just they're not a lot of teams that
- 23:26Speaker 1: can keep up with the athletes that they're putting on
- 23:30Speaker 1: the field.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Here's the deal. A and M does so many little
- 23:33Speaker 5: plays you don't really look at. They did it again
- 23:37Speaker 5: this past week. They I think they ran five jet
- 23:40Speaker 5: sweeps with this, with concepcion and crave. You know what,
- 23:44Speaker 5: they gained yard each and all five of them. You
- 23:46Speaker 5: know a lot of times you'll see somebody lose eight
- 23:48Speaker 5: or nine yards and they'll blow it up. No, every
- 23:50Speaker 5: play was positive. They're able to hit those ten to
- 23:53Speaker 5: eleven yard passes to or even five yards to the
- 23:57Speaker 5: tight ends. They're wide open. They hit them so many weapons.
- 24:01Speaker 5: And if you're a defender, who do you stop?
- 24:04Speaker 7: Dalton Brooks has becoming a weapon to well, you know,
- 24:06Speaker 7: I asked him about that.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah he did. He kind of sloughed it off.
- 24:10Speaker 1: But but man, that guy and he was a running
- 24:14Speaker 1: back right in high school, and you can tell.
- 24:17Speaker 8: He looked like running back he did like on that
- 24:19Speaker 8: fake punt he was. He did a nice little job
- 24:22Speaker 8: weaving right there, No doubt he was.
- 24:24Speaker 5: He was a stud running back and the uh safety
- 24:27Speaker 5: and shy and you're.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Right five five times, three times for Carver and and
- 24:33Speaker 1: twice for Conceptio.
- 24:34Speaker 2: And on those on those verses.
- 24:36Speaker 5: What do they do? They pick up guard and you
- 24:37Speaker 5: got to keep people at home. Yes, it's just another.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and they can break them because they have the
- 24:44Speaker 2: speed to do.
- 24:44Speaker 5: They could look a look at the screen pass just
- 24:47Speaker 5: a short one mess tackle pass and one mess tackle.
- 24:51Speaker 5: He's Indian zone.
- 24:52Speaker 10: Ye.
- 24:52Speaker 8: Well, and you're watching. I know I had fumbled. Bethel
- 24:55Speaker 8: Roman is coming on there too. That was a nice
- 24:58Speaker 8: catch you made.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It was a very nice cat for touchdown because we've
- 25:01Speaker 1: seen him early in the season drop balls.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I had two nice catches at LSU.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yes he did.
- 25:06Speaker 5: So he's coming off, Yes he did.
- 25:07Speaker 7: And he's not even the top two no, I know,
- 25:09Speaker 7: but you know he's got to protect the football.
- 25:12Speaker 5: That was bad because they come up behind him. You're
- 25:14Speaker 5: gonna have a sixteen yard game. You're gonna get patted
- 25:16Speaker 5: on the head, and you now think about it, that's
- 25:19Speaker 5: our first lost fumble of the year.
- 25:21Speaker 7: That's amazing.
- 25:22Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I didn't even think about that.
- 25:24Speaker 5: When you're in the SEC and people are slapping the
- 25:27Speaker 5: ball and wanting to get it, and you think about
- 25:30Speaker 5: how many times Reeds carried the ball and they have
- 25:33Speaker 5: one fumble. That's amazing.
- 25:35Speaker 8: And I continue to be amazed at how good EJ.
- 25:39Speaker 8: Smith is in limited roles, but that they give that
- 25:43Speaker 8: guy the ball on every short yardist situation and he produces.
- 25:47Speaker 2: It's really unfair. But he does remind me of his
- 25:50Speaker 2: dad in that in.
- 25:52Speaker 1: That Yeah, loads hard to bring down. He's always moving
- 25:58Speaker 1: forward and getting positive yards.
- 26:00Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean just liking the touchdown run you know
- 26:02Speaker 7: that you had and it's like he was stopped but
- 26:05Speaker 7: he kept on going.
- 26:06Speaker 8: You know, he had those Obviously he's got very very
- 26:09Speaker 8: powerful leggs like his dad.
- 26:10Speaker 7: Yep.
- 26:11Speaker 5: This team wins by twenty one on the road, and
- 26:14Speaker 5: they're missing their starting tail back to the Benie of
- 26:16Speaker 5: the Year, they're missing their off linebacker.
- 26:20Speaker 2: They just don't they're just so deep, yep.
- 26:23Speaker 5: And they were missing one of they're missing their All
- 26:24Speaker 5: American linemen. I mean early in the game. I mean
- 26:27Speaker 5: they are so deep and it's hard to measure depth
- 26:31Speaker 5: when people don't realize. Some people lose one or two
- 26:33Speaker 5: guys they're done.
- 26:34Speaker 8: The huge thing, though, knock on wood, if you're a
- 26:37Speaker 8: m is that is they have not lost their quarterback.
- 26:40Speaker 8: And when you look at Missouri and A and M,
- 26:42Speaker 8: the big difference, you're looking at thirteen quarterback and you know,
- 26:46Speaker 8: Marcel Reed is so bad. And what I really liked
- 26:49Speaker 8: about this game is how few hits Marcel took, right,
- 26:53Speaker 8: I mean, he didn't take that lately.
- 26:55Speaker 5: Okay, when I laughed the last possession he came out
- 26:58Speaker 5: for first play, get a text him, why is he
- 27:01Speaker 5: sing the ball? And I'm saying to myself, why is
- 27:03Speaker 5: he in the game? Even though he had he was
- 27:05Speaker 5: off that play? And once again, that.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Just happened in the NFL last week.
- 27:10Speaker 5: So much happening. You just think, you know, always say
- 27:13Speaker 5: the coaches, there's so much happening.
- 27:15Speaker 2: But they got fifteen assistants on the sideline.
- 27:17Speaker 1: One of them's got to be tapping them on their shoulder,
- 27:19Speaker 1: and say, coach, get him out.
- 27:21Speaker 5: I said, even if he handed a guy off and
- 27:23Speaker 5: a guy blitze, exactly, get him out. I just laughed. Well.
- 27:27Speaker 8: And there there was the roughing play against Missouri early,
- 27:30Speaker 8: which I thought was a really good call, the one
- 27:32Speaker 8: when Marcel handed the ball off and then the defensive
- 27:35Speaker 8: end hit him anyway and they called the flag. Well, man,
- 27:39Speaker 8: I think you got to protect quarterbacks, that they do
- 27:42Speaker 8: it at every level. And again, as an m fan,
- 27:46Speaker 8: I don't want to see Marcel taking a lot of hits.
- 27:48Speaker 7: He's not that big, and I love the fact that
- 27:50Speaker 7: he he he did run the football a couple of times,
- 27:53Speaker 7: but only a few times.
- 27:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm I'm kind of on the other way. They
- 27:58Speaker 5: run so much in call and these guys run four
- 28:01Speaker 5: fives and if you fake real quick and you still
- 28:04Speaker 5: got the.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Ball five times, that's tough enough for twenty nine net yards.
- 28:09Speaker 5: So I'm a little bit If I'm a fisher, I'm
- 28:12Speaker 5: going to keep my flagging a little bit more in
- 28:14Speaker 5: college because these guys run so much.
- 28:16Speaker 7: We had first down Stu. Yeah when it did brush
- 28:19Speaker 7: the football, Yeah, we did.

- 34:06Speaker 1: I highly recommend it. Rust even listened to it.
- 34:09Speaker 7: I thought it was fascinating. I just I told you,
- 34:12Speaker 7: I think it's one of the books really thought. I
- 34:15Speaker 7: thought so many elements are there.
- 34:17Speaker 5: And I didn't.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I couldn't come close to getting all of them right.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Very ergect this could not come driving over listening to him.
- 34:24Speaker 5: The guy knows the stuff he does, and it's history
- 34:27Speaker 5: is history.
- 34:28Speaker 1: It's life and death. It's and it's not a it's
- 34:30Speaker 1: not a happy book. I mean, you know, twenty nine
- 34:34Speaker 1: people were lost and he goes through every one of
- 34:36Speaker 1: them and their lives, their backgrounds, the captain.
- 34:39Speaker 7: It's original, really really good. I'm going to go get that.
- 34:42Speaker 1: It's a long book, but I tell you you wouldn't
- 34:45Speaker 1: know it because I it's a page two.
- 34:47Speaker 7: Well, you know, I'm a I love the audio audio books. Yes,
- 34:52Speaker 7: and I go through probably yes thirty when you're driving
- 34:55Speaker 7: and when I'm driving and working out on.
- 34:58Speaker 8: The yard anything like that. So I go through a
- 35:01Speaker 8: lot of them. Yeah, and it keeps me on during
- 35:03Speaker 8: my workout.
- 35:04Speaker 7: It keeps me focused on something other than absolutely you
- 35:07Speaker 7: know how much it's hurting.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I gotta go, all right, we were talking about this
- 35:12Speaker 2: during the break.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna play the little segment from Lane Kiffin answering
- 35:17Speaker 1: questions about the College Football Playoff and the rankings.
- 35:20Speaker 5: See last week.
- 35:21Speaker 6: I'm so curious now that the first CFP rankings are
- 35:24Speaker 6: out where you guys were, where the league was.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Were you encouraged by that? M?
- 35:30Speaker 17: I think in some ways a little bit? But you know,
- 35:32Speaker 17: I think that some other people have pointed out in
- 35:35Speaker 17: other ways. Know, like you know Texas A and M
- 35:40Speaker 17: being three, you know, well, what more do you want
- 35:42Speaker 17: them to do to be one? You know, like I said,
- 35:46Speaker 17: when people want to schedule and they say, okay, man,
- 35:48Speaker 17: we need you to schedule hard teams, you know, now
- 35:50Speaker 17: nine sec and then play another hard one. Well they
- 35:53Speaker 17: went up to Notre Dame and one. So those people
- 35:56Speaker 17: that say, man, those schedules are worth it to play that.
- 35:59Speaker 17: What if they didn't play Notre Dame, they just played
- 36:02Speaker 17: whoever and just had an easy win, they'd be ranking
- 36:04Speaker 17: the same spot. So what good did that? What good
- 36:06Speaker 17: did that do? If that's not rewarded? You know, so
- 36:10Speaker 17: they got the highest metrics everybody, they're not number one,
- 36:13Speaker 17: So I don't know. Again, you talk about those two
- 36:18Speaker 17: teams right there. Put them on a neutral site. Ask
- 36:21Speaker 17: Vegas who win? What's the spread? And that to me
- 36:25Speaker 17: shows more than people sitting around the room just guessing.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Classic length.
- 36:33Speaker 5: Ask him the questions, the money, he's.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Going to answer it, and he's right, he's right. Put
- 36:37Speaker 1: Las Vegas in there and and let them set. They
- 36:40Speaker 1: know who's favored, who's not favored.
- 36:43Speaker 7: Yeah, so I would not be surprised at all.
- 36:45Speaker 8: If if is two tomorrow night, you think, yeah, man,
- 36:49Speaker 8: I watched the Indiana Penn State game for you know the.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Last part of catch. Man, Oh that catch. There's two
- 36:56Speaker 1: catches right, that's their work. Didn't make the catch on
- 37:00Speaker 1: the sideline was like great catch. It was only you know, outdone.
- 37:04Speaker 1: But you know what that ball could only be where
- 37:08Speaker 1: it was twice for those balls to be caught.
- 37:10Speaker 5: And the second time the god was getting hit.
- 37:12Speaker 7: And if he wins the Heisman Trophy because of that,
- 37:15Speaker 7: I'm all for it.
- 37:15Speaker 1: You know that was a Heisman drive. Yes, Okay, Marcell
- 37:18Speaker 1: needs a Heisman drive. He may have he may have
- 37:20Speaker 1: it coming.
- 37:21Speaker 2: He may have it against.
- 37:22Speaker 7: Texas, already had it in some regards, but it was
- 37:24Speaker 7: not arguing.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Look, I'm not arguing, right, he would he beat Notre
- 37:28Speaker 1: Dame all that it's forgotten about, right, Yeah, you got
- 37:32Speaker 1: to have another one, right us.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Fortunately, And.
- 37:36Speaker 1: But you know what's interesting is this kid's from Indiana,
- 37:40Speaker 1: and so Indiana they don't produce Heisman Trophy winners, right,
- 37:44Speaker 1: they have never produced Heisman Trophy winners.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Uh, but they get a lot of publicity.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I mean, they're twenty four and two in the last
- 37:53Speaker 1: two years, I guess.
- 37:54Speaker 7: But I mean they beat a Penn State team that
- 37:56Speaker 7: just lost.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I understand that, I get it.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I still will say that was a Penn State team
- 38:01Speaker 1: that people ranked number one or number two before the
- 38:04Speaker 1: season began.
- 38:05Speaker 2: So they thought they had the talent to do.
- 38:06Speaker 1: It right, right, and they still have some talent. Oh
- 38:11Speaker 1: they played great and man, and so.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I don't want to take away from what Indiana did.
- 38:16Speaker 7: So the thing that Indiana did early on, Look.
- 38:19Speaker 1: It doesn't matter right now to me. You know, it
- 38:21Speaker 1: doesn't matter two, three or four right now. It does
- 38:24Speaker 1: not matter right now. You're right, it'll matter in four weeks,
- 38:28Speaker 1: but it doesn't matter.
- 38:29Speaker 8: Yeah, you're exactly right. But the thing that on that
- 38:32Speaker 8: drive that was so impressive is they got the sack
- 38:35Speaker 8: early on. Yes, they did so he you know, he
- 38:38Speaker 8: completed a third and something twenty four yard pass, Yes,
- 38:42Speaker 8: about third and eighteen.
- 38:43Speaker 7: It was it was big time.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It was big time.
- 38:45Speaker 8: I thought when that said, when when Penstay had a sack,
- 38:47Speaker 8: I was like, oh man, I'll say this for Oregon.
- 38:50Speaker 8: Oregon is probably not quite as good as what they've been. Okay,
- 38:53Speaker 8: but those conditions are brutal. You're you're and this is
- 38:58Speaker 8: Big Ten football versus.
- 39:01Speaker 2: West Coast football.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And there's an article today about how the West Coast
- 39:05Speaker 1: teams are not fitting in and they're not right travel
- 39:09Speaker 1: and you can say the same thing with Big Ten
- 39:11Speaker 1: that have to go to the West Coast to play
- 39:13Speaker 1: right Penn State.
- 39:14Speaker 2: To Oregon or wherever. Right, it makes no sense. It
- 39:19Speaker 2: makes no sense, like a lot of college football right now.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But my gosh, it is so fun to sit down
- 39:26Speaker 1: on Saturday and watch these games and some of these
- 39:28Speaker 1: games that I've watched and you're going like Oregon and
- 39:31Speaker 1: I what's like, yeah.
- 39:33Speaker 2: But I'm glued to the end of that football game, right.
- 39:37Speaker 7: I was glued to the end of SMU and Miami.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yes, exactly exactly which I thought was going to be
- 39:43Speaker 1: a blowout the other way, but I didn't take it
- 39:47Speaker 1: acount the coach.
- 39:48Speaker 2: As we've talked about, here's the deal is.
- 39:52Speaker 5: I think A and M definitely could make a bid
- 39:56Speaker 5: for a case for number one. Yes, O High State Indiana.
- 40:00Speaker 5: I know from how tough it is for Indiana to
- 40:03Speaker 5: go win at Penn State. It's a little bit like
- 40:05Speaker 5: A M beating the.
- 40:06Speaker 2: L s U.
- 40:07Speaker 5: No, that's a huge win for that pot.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Well, they haven't done it in exactly forty years.
- 40:11Speaker 5: And when you consider they have like two or three playmakers,
- 40:15Speaker 5: the quarterback, they're wide receivers, and this.
- 40:17Speaker 7: Is good comparison because LSU is not who we thought
- 40:20Speaker 7: right state.
- 40:21Speaker 5: This is just the product to me of the transfer
- 40:25Speaker 5: parlia and everything. There's about twelve teams could win the
- 40:28Speaker 5: national championship right now, but it will the bracket's gonna
- 40:32Speaker 5: matter back. The bracket didn't matter as much last year
- 40:36Speaker 5: because they had screwed up because they had people out
- 40:38Speaker 5: of place. Now it's gonna be a little bit better.
- 40:41Speaker 2: But do you think people will be out of place
- 40:43Speaker 2: this year?
- 40:43Speaker 5: Not as much because when you had that deal that
- 40:46Speaker 5: the Boise State was way too high. Last year kind
- 40:50Speaker 5: of screwed.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Everything yeah, not from conference champions. We're just ranking next year.
- 40:55Speaker 5: What's gonna be nice is that top four is gonna matter.
- 40:59Speaker 5: You're gonna get it.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Gonna match with people. But I still don't have any
- 41:02Speaker 2: faith in the committee seas, but they can.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Still screw it up.
- 41:05Speaker 2: They can't.
- 41:06Speaker 5: But now I'm worried going forward. As you mentioned, Rusty Man,
- 41:11Speaker 5: what does injuries do to it? Because there's such a
- 41:13Speaker 5: fine line because you mentioned so many games to win,
- 41:16Speaker 5: there's still so many games to play, and as South
- 41:20Speaker 5: Carolina is not a great opponent, but it's gonna be
- 41:23Speaker 5: a physical opponent. So Adam's got two very big physical
- 41:26Speaker 5: games left. That Texas game is gonna be a war.
- 41:29Speaker 5: And let's say whoever goes on and plays in the
- 41:31Speaker 5: SEC title game next week, that's gonna be a war.
- 41:34Speaker 5: So you've back to back wars. You can say, well
- 41:36Speaker 5: they're gonna get a week off, Well, they're gonna need
- 41:38Speaker 5: a week off wherever they are, no doubt, because there's
- 41:41Speaker 5: a lot of big games left.
- 41:42Speaker 7: Oh in tex Tech, I mean, what they did that.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Impressive, very impressive, very impressive.
- 41:48Speaker 1: And I've been beating Jacob Rodriguez's driving all season long
- 41:54Speaker 1: because I thought, I still think he's one of the
- 41:57Speaker 1: best players in college football. I'm not saying and he's
- 42:00Speaker 1: gonna win the Heisman, He's not. I'm just saying he
- 42:03Speaker 1: is one of the best players, an impact player.
- 42:06Speaker 7: Yes he is.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Yeah, they're they're good. They're really good.
- 42:09Speaker 7: They are good. And I thought, b yu is I
- 42:11Speaker 7: want to.
- 42:11Speaker 1: See Texas Tech and Texas A and M and the
- 42:14Speaker 1: cotton ball on New Year's Eve in the quarterfin happened?
- 42:18Speaker 2: How about that?
- 42:19Speaker 7: That'd be great?
- 42:19Speaker 2: But would that be hard to get a ticket to?
- 42:21Speaker 5: But what I like is people said that, but you
- 42:26Speaker 5: take a lot of those teams and match him up.
- 42:28Speaker 5: There's a lot of great matchups we're going to see
- 42:30Speaker 5: this year because I don't think you could say, oh,
- 42:32Speaker 5: this team is definitely gonna win.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I don't think we have one of those teams. Still.
- 42:36Speaker 7: No, And again I was like, I watched the Alabama
- 42:39Speaker 7: L s U game, was non proud of.
- 42:42Speaker 5: The ball. They cannot run the ball's amazing.
- 42:45Speaker 8: And you know, I fully expect that Georgia will beat
- 42:50Speaker 8: Texas this week.
- 42:51Speaker 7: So I mean, but you.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Know, if Alabama would play A and M, they would
- 42:54Speaker 5: be able to run the ball against you. I hate
- 42:56Speaker 5: to say it, because that's one thing probably they've got.
- 42:59Speaker 2: They've got to tighten it up.
- 43:01Speaker 5: It's hard to do when you're already having.
- 43:02Speaker 2: To understand your nine games in, but they got to
- 43:04Speaker 2: tighten that up. All right, we need a break. We'll
- 43:06Speaker 2: come back.
- 43:07Speaker 1: We have technical difficulties and that's probably for the best

- 45:32Speaker 1: bit about Georgia and Texas. That's gonna be very interesting
- 45:35Speaker 1: Saturday night.
- 45:36Speaker 5: Yeah, without a doubt. Man at such a huge game
- 45:40Speaker 5: and has so many implications. Yep, and uh, George's had
- 45:45Speaker 5: Texas's numbers, so to speak, Texas needs a win in
- 45:48Speaker 5: the worst way. I was impressed. I can't. I thought
- 45:52Speaker 5: Kentucky would pack it in the fact that Kentucky beat Florida,
- 45:55Speaker 5: and I know that was in a nothing game. I
- 45:58Speaker 5: thought Stoops would head off to the retirement at home.
- 46:00Speaker 5: So that was, Uh, that was an interesting game when
- 46:03Speaker 5: I saw that. And then you look what Vanderbilt did
- 46:06Speaker 5: to pull out a win. You talked about how close
- 46:09Speaker 5: we are and what the transferred portal was done by

- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm telling you you're special.
- 46:27Speaker 8: But man, I don't see how you know, if Texas
- 46:29Speaker 8: loses this week with three losses, they're they're not looking
- 46:34Speaker 8: at the playoffs anymore.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I wouldn't think so, I don't think.
- 46:36Speaker 7: If you go ahead, well, I.
- 46:38Speaker 5: Agree with you, except think about last year Alabama was
- 46:42Speaker 5: left out because of the they were nine and three,
- 46:46Speaker 5: and if a Texas would have to I agree with you,
- 46:50Speaker 5: they only have a prayer. But they would have to
- 46:52Speaker 5: beat A and M. Because that way you'd beat the
- 46:54Speaker 5: top three team. Because that you your losses would be
- 46:57Speaker 5: to the Ohio State and A and M that were
- 46:59Speaker 5: both in the top three or four. They would have
- 47:02Speaker 5: a chance. But once again is I'd say, if they
- 47:05Speaker 5: lose the three, how could you bet on them? They
- 47:08Speaker 5: would have no they'd have no big victories. They have
- 47:10Speaker 5: no big victory.
- 47:12Speaker 8: I fully expect Georgia to win that game. I you know,
- 47:15Speaker 8: even though Georgia is not like some of the other
- 47:18Speaker 8: Georgia teams we've seen. I'm interested in Alabama and Oklahoma too,
- 47:21Speaker 8: because Oklahoma would pressed me a little bit more than.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I thought, you know, I mean, they shocked me.
- 47:28Speaker 7: They I didn't think that they were worth a darn
- 47:30Speaker 7: after I watched and play Texas.
- 47:31Speaker 2: But then, you know, I mean, they've won some games,
- 47:34Speaker 2: and I still.
- 47:35Speaker 5: Don't think Oklahoma's top fifteen team on But didn't they
- 47:38Speaker 5: keep moving me wrong and ship as well? So you're right,
- 47:41Speaker 5: that's a big game because Alabama can't run the game.
- 47:44Speaker 5: That has to hurt you run the ball.
- 47:46Speaker 8: Yeah, well, and obviously they're sitting there with two losses too.
- 47:49Speaker 8: So I mean, if Alabama and Georgia both win this weekend,
- 47:52Speaker 8: I think, oh, you and Texas are out of the playoffs.
- 47:55Speaker 7: I mean, I think I understand what you're saying too.
- 47:58Speaker 5: It's a very slim chance.
- 48:00Speaker 8: If Texas were to be texting A and M the
- 48:01Speaker 8: day after Thanksgiving, you know, that's a that's a big
- 48:03Speaker 8: feather of the cap. But if A and M's eleven
- 48:06Speaker 8: and Zer going in there, I know a lot of
- 48:09Speaker 8: things could happen, you know, And do you really want
- 48:11Speaker 8: to play in the SEC title the game at that point?
- 48:13Speaker 2: I don't know, Honestly, I'd rather bypass the SEC.
- 48:18Speaker 7: I know I probably would too, be honest.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I mean, I know I know what it means. I
- 48:23Speaker 2: get I get it.
- 48:23Speaker 1: We've talked about A and M and win a championship,
- 48:26Speaker 1: says nineteen ninety eight, and they have an excellent chance
- 48:29Speaker 1: to do that this year. And you're not going to
- 48:32Speaker 1: get anybody over there to say, oh no, we don't
- 48:34Speaker 1: want to play in that game. We just want to
- 48:36Speaker 1: rest for the playoffs.
- 48:37Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no no no.
- 48:38Speaker 1: It just doesn't work that way. But all things being equal,
- 48:44Speaker 1: give me that week off. Georgia and Old Miss went out,
- 48:51Speaker 1: then they've got one loss eat right. Yes, if AIM
- 48:53Speaker 1: were to lose the Texas I mean, I don't know
- 48:55Speaker 1: all the time breakers, but I'm with you, guys.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Hias ranked I think the highest CFP ranking.
- 49:03Speaker 5: Yeah, and if you think they ate them would lose,
- 49:05Speaker 5: they fall down to the top.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Two, right am? I right about that?
- 49:08Speaker 1: The top two highest CFP ranked SEC teams will play
- 49:11Speaker 1: in Atlanta.
- 49:12Speaker 7: Okay, but you.
- 49:13Speaker 5: Don't want to You don't want to lose that game.
- 49:15Speaker 5: But you know you don't want to get beat up.
- 49:16Speaker 5: But yet you know they're gonna give it all out,
- 49:19Speaker 5: so win or lose. That could use recovery.
- 49:22Speaker 7: If you go play the game, you want to win
- 49:24Speaker 7: the game, right, Absolutely? Yeah, if you're there, absolutely you
- 49:27Speaker 7: want to go win the game. Sure, but part of
- 49:30Speaker 7: me is, like you ships, like, eh, you know they
- 49:33Speaker 7: got You're right, they got a great chance to win
- 49:34Speaker 7: the SEC title, but they also have a really good
- 49:36Speaker 7: chance to win the national time and that's more important.
- 49:39Speaker 5: And if you're going to play this SEC game, when
- 49:41Speaker 5: you're playing either Georgia or Old miss or something like
- 49:45Speaker 5: that in you know, Alabama, in Alabama, kif Kevin alone
- 49:48Speaker 5: is tough to play just because he'll talk trash and
- 49:51Speaker 5: hurt you.
- 49:51Speaker 7: Well, like I've said, this is like the first year
- 49:54Speaker 7: that I can remember where it's say I don't.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Care who him plays. They got a shot against nobody,
- 49:59Speaker 1: an no question, And.
- 50:00Speaker 7: I wouldn't have been able to say that in practically
- 50:02Speaker 7: every yase.
- 50:03Speaker 8: And know we're old enough to remember nineteen nine two,
- 50:06Speaker 8: so people have asked me about nineteen nine two.
- 50:08Speaker 7: That team was twelve and oh but they had no
- 50:10Speaker 7: prayer against Notre Dame that year. Notre Dame was so
- 50:13Speaker 7: much better than.
- 50:13Speaker 5: The good look it was on that team.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Jerome and Notre Dame.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Look when you said that they had no prayer against
- 50:20Speaker 1: that Notre Dame team, that's what you're saying exactly, that
- 50:22Speaker 1: they were and it was really good. Yes, but Notre
- 50:26Speaker 1: Dame was national championship cut.
- 50:27Speaker 8: And that's what I'm saying. A and M was not
- 50:29Speaker 8: NASS championship good that year nineteen ninet two. Wait they are, Ye, difference,
- 50:35Speaker 8: no doubt, that's a big difference, big difference because that
- 50:38Speaker 8: Notre Dame team. You know, it could have been a
- 50:40Speaker 8: lot more than twenty eight to three. I just remember
- 50:42Speaker 8: A and M barely got out.
- 50:45Speaker 2: That was a really good gore sitting.
- 50:47Speaker 5: Here thinking at eight M, four or five more victories,
- 50:50Speaker 5: they could be a national chimp. Don't knowing about it.
- 50:52Speaker 5: Nothing on the conference champan you're talking about when it's
- 50:54Speaker 5: all said done is kind of amazing because AM just
- 50:57Speaker 5: hasn't been there.
- 50:58Speaker 2: So think about it.
- 51:00Speaker 7: That's gonna cost me a lot of money if but
- 51:01Speaker 7: I do, because I think about how money I've spent
- 51:04Speaker 7: on twenty twenty three World Series merchandise, Like, yeah you did,
- 51:09Speaker 7: You're still paying for.
- 51:10Speaker 2: That's gonna put me over the top, you know what.
- 51:14Speaker 5: I think got this thing called credit.
- 51:17Speaker 1: So between Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, who would you like
- 51:22Speaker 1: to see A and M play in the SEC Title Game?
- 51:26Speaker 2: Alabama Georgia ole Miss.
- 51:27Speaker 7: I would rather play Alabama or Georgia than than ole Miss. Interesting,
- 51:32Speaker 7: I would.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Think ole Miss would be less physical because they have
- 51:35Speaker 5: a couple of good defensive players, but they're not that
- 51:37Speaker 5: great on defense.
- 51:39Speaker 7: I think out of the three, I'll take Alabama.
- 51:42Speaker 5: That's interesting. I'd say, hey, I think Old Miss would
- 51:45Speaker 5: be a better matchup for A and M. I'm looking
- 51:47Speaker 5: more as the physicality of it wearing terror because you're
- 51:52Speaker 5: gonna have to play that game and turn around.
- 51:53Speaker 2: When Georgia will beat the hell out of it, because
- 51:55Speaker 2: that's that's just what they do exactly.
- 51:57Speaker 8: And I think Alabama can't run football and that's where
- 52:00Speaker 8: A and M's weakness has been stopping the roun So
- 52:03Speaker 8: give me Alabama out of those three, I would be.
- 52:05Speaker 5: And now I think about it, when's the when's the
- 52:08Speaker 5: semifinal game? Sat end of almost a whole month.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Direct Okay, So in the event of a tie uh
- 52:14Speaker 1: in place, the conference championship game had to head competition
- 52:17Speaker 1: among the Tide.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Teams, that wouldn't be a factor with Alabama and Georgia.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Okay, you're talking about an they had played any of
- 52:26Speaker 1: those teams, right, Okay, But we're we're assuming A and
- 52:29Speaker 1: M is going to just be in that game.
- 52:31Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, is going to be eleven to one at
- 52:33Speaker 7: the very worst.
- 52:35Speaker 5: That's what we're the worst.
- 52:36Speaker 2: That's what we're thinking.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Okay, record versus all common Conference opponents among the Tide teams,
- 52:44Speaker 1: that is a different one.
- 52:46Speaker 7: That's number two. That's gonna need a mathematician.
- 52:49Speaker 2: All of this stuff is crazy.
- 52:51Speaker 7: This journalists record.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Against the best placed Common Conference opponent in the standings
- 52:58Speaker 1: and proceeding through the conference standings among the Tide teams.
- 53:04Speaker 5: In other words, let the committee do it.
- 53:05Speaker 7: I'm just gonna let somebody tell me.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:08Speaker 5: I guess they better just win and make it easy.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the heck man, The last one is a random
- 53:14Speaker 2: draw of the Tide teams.
- 53:15Speaker 1: I guess you flip a coin. Ooh, like the high
- 53:17Speaker 1: school players like high school playoffs. That's fifth on the list.
- 53:21Speaker 1: It's a nice problem to have based on penetration.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Would it be hard?
- 53:26Speaker 1: Remember just say who the highest rank team is and
- 53:31Speaker 1: let's just head to I get head to heads.
- 53:33Speaker 2: I do understand, Toad, you have to do that.
- 53:36Speaker 5: Asn't played a lot of those teams, but then who have.
- 53:39Speaker 2: They played any of them?
- 53:40Speaker 5: Who they played the other team's played, that's yeah, you'd
- 53:43Speaker 5: have to look at that. But still, but LSU hadn't
- 53:46Speaker 5: beat anybody, so that can't help a and them. Arkansas
- 53:50Speaker 5: hadn't beat anybody, had beat.
- 53:52Speaker 7: Anybody, Auburn hasn't, so anyway.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know either, I kind
- 53:59Speaker 2: of I'm with you With Alabama. I don't think it's
- 54:02Speaker 2: the same Alabama.
- 54:04Speaker 5: And the guy coaching, Nick Sagan's gone, so that's not bad.
- 54:08Speaker 10: Ye.
- 54:08Speaker 2: The quarterback's pretty good, really good. Yeah, but he's pretty
- 54:12Speaker 2: loves to get the quarterback that they do. You're absolutely right,
- 54:16Speaker 2: cash out.
- 54:17Speaker 7: They're good, Yes, they are.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I don't you know.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Georgia is different because they're one of those they like
- 54:25Speaker 1: to run the football like we've been talking about, and.
- 54:28Speaker 5: They feel a low scoring a close game, and that's.
- 54:31Speaker 2: The That's the other thing.
- 54:33Speaker 1: This team has passed every test this year, right, and
- 54:36Speaker 1: I don't expect that to be an issue. But if
- 54:39Speaker 1: you end up playing an Alabama or a Georgia, not
- 54:43Speaker 1: an Old Miss, but an Alabama or a Georgia, it's
- 54:46Speaker 1: just the fact that those teams have been there before,
- 54:49Speaker 1: and that's when there is right. I don't think you
- 54:52Speaker 1: can put a price on the fact that they're just
- 54:55Speaker 1: used to it and it's you right.
- 54:57Speaker 8: And there's the other thing, is you know obvious we
- 55:00Speaker 8: we said it'd be in one hand, it's better not
- 55:03Speaker 8: to go.
- 55:03Speaker 7: But you hadn't been to the conference championship game either.
- 55:06Speaker 5: Georgia has a great fans support. If that's in Georgia
- 55:09Speaker 5: in Atlanta, Atlanta, that would be a home field today.
- 55:12Speaker 2: All right, boys, Uh, it's just getting better every week.
- 55:15Speaker 5: National Championship.
- 55:16Speaker 1: We killed now really quick. We talked about important stuff.
