- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Swahili with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 157! We're really rolling now. Lucas: We sure are. And today we're going to add more numbers to our counting skills. Luna: Oh, I love counting in Swahili. It feels so rhythmic. Lucas: It really does. So far we've covered up to sixty. Today we go from sixty-one to seventy. Luna: Okay, so sixty is sitini. Then sixty-one would be sitini na moja? Lucas: Exactly right. Sitini na moja. You already know the pattern. Luna: Sitini na moja. Let me try that again: sitini na moja. Lucas: Perfect. Now, sixty-two is sitini na mbili. Luna: Sitini na mbili. That's easy. Lucas: Sixty-three: sitini na tatu. Luna: Sitini na tatu. And sixty-four: sitini na nne. Lucas: You've got it. Sixty-five: sitini na tano. Luna: Sitini na tano. Lucas: Sixty-six: sitini na sita. Luna: Sitini na sita. That's fun to say. Lucas: Sixty-seven: sitini na saba. Luna: Sitini na saba. Lucas: Sixty-eight: sitini na nane. Luna: Sitini na nane. Lucas: Sixty-nine: sitini na tisa. Luna: Sitini na tisa. And then seventy must be sabini. Lucas: Yes! Sabini. You remembered from our earlier episodes. Luna: I did! So sabini is seventy. Lucas: Right. Let's hear them all in a row from you. Luna: Okay. Sitini na moja, sitini na mbili, sitini na tatu, sitini na nne, sitini na tano, sitini na sita, sitini na saba, sitini na nane, sitini na tisa, sabini. Lucas: That was excellent, Luna. Really smooth. Luna: Thanks. It helps that it's just the tens plus the numbers we already know. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's imagine you're at a market and you want sixty-eight eggs. How would you say that? Luna: Nataka mayai sitini na nane. Lucas: Perfect. And if the seller says the price is seventy shillings each? Luna: Shilingi sabini kila moja. Lucas: There you go. Numbers are everywhere. Luna: You know, I was thinking — Fexingo really helps me practice these numbers without any ads interrupting. Lucas: That's by design. We keep the show ad-free so you can focus on learning. If it's helping you, you can support that at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, every little bit keeps us going. But no pressure. Now, let's practice some more. Lucas: Good idea. Let's say I ask you: una mayai ngapi? How many eggs do you have? Luna: Nina mayai sitini na tisa. I have sixty-nine eggs. Lucas: Nice. And I have seventy — nina mayai sabini. Luna: That's a lot of eggs. Lucas: It is. Now for a quick review: what's sixty-one? Luna: Sitini na moja. Lucas: Sixty-five? Luna: Sitini na tano. Lucas: Seventy? Luna: Sabini. Lucas: You've got them down. Keep practicing these, and next time we'll keep counting. Luna: Can't wait. Until then, this is Luna. Lucas: And Lucas. Kwaheri. Luna: Kwaheri.
