- 0:002nd Corinthians chapter 3 Let us pray.
- 0:07Our Lord, our God, our King, you are our everything.
- 0:10Yes, we love you. Father, we love you so much.
- 0:14We love everything about you. God, let your Kingdom come, let
- 0:18your will be done. God, we only want you and you
- 0:21alone. Father, we want your will and
- 0:25your Kingdom, God on this earth. And Lord, I pray that we are the
- 0:29ministers of reconciliation, God, that we are the
- 0:33peacemakers. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 0:36that will be the ministers and the preachers and the prophets.
- 0:40God, I pray in the name of Jesus, that will be your hands
- 0:43and feet unto this wicked and dark and perverse world.
- 0:47God, I pray that we are the ones that you have placed your mark
- 0:51and your seal upon. We have tasted and meaning that
- 0:54you are good and Lord, We have counted the cost and we are
- 0:58coming God boldly into the throne room of grace.
- 1:02God, boldly into the holiest of holy places.
- 1:05God, we want to see Jesus. We want to see him lifted up
- 1:10high above the courtroom, high above the law of the land, high
- 1:15above all of our situations that we find ourselves in, our
- 1:19workplaces, God, schools, God, jurisdictions, God,
- 1:23principalities, Father, rulers. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:29that you will get your glory. Father, that the whole world
- 1:32will be sold out to you. God, I pray for representatives
- 1:36on every continent, every people group, every tribe, every
- 1:40nation, every tongue. God, in the name of Jesus, bring
- 1:43them into the fold. Lord, let them come, God, into
- 1:47the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Lord and their
- 1:50Savior. And God, we just want more of
- 1:52you. We want to know the depths of
- 1:54your love. We want to come to the heights
- 1:56and be seated there with you in heavenly places.
- 1:59God, I pray for you to come soon.
- 2:01Lord, come, Maranatha, we cry out.
- 2:04Lord, we love everything about you.
- 2:06And this in Jesus Christ, holy and precious name that I pray.
- 2:11Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 2:17Do we begin again to commend ourselves or need we as some
- 2:23others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of
- 2:29commendation from you? He's saying, are we really going
- 2:35to need some kind of letter of recommendation or do we need to
- 2:44send letters of recommendation? He's saying that you the
- 2:48Corinthian church are the letter of recommendation that Paul here
- 2:54does not need to try and show them his authority that he does
- 3:03not need to try and show them the truth of if he is a an
- 3:10apostle or not. He is telling them that they are
- 3:14the proof of his apostleship and how ridiculous would it be for
- 3:19the very ones that he got going through God through the Holy
- 3:25Spirit, through the help of the Lord Jesus Christ and the
- 3:28ministry of the Lord. Paul went and started this
- 3:31church and now some way his credentials are being called
- 3:36into question. Verse 2.
- 3:39You are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of
- 3:44all men. That is what you need to
- 3:47understand is that the byproduct of true preaching, the byproduct
- 3:55of true following after the Lord Jesus Christ, will naturally
- 4:01produce the character and the witness.
- 4:05It will naturally produce out of the overflow, out of the
- 4:08abundance of the heart. You will see the obedience flow
- 4:13from that verse 3/4 as much as you are manifestly declared to
- 4:20be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not
- 4:24with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of
- 4:28stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
- 4:31So we know that God whenever you get saved, God takes the Stony
- 4:36heart, God takes the reprobate mind and he writes his law.
- 4:43He writes his grace on our hearts and our minds and we
- 4:48operate in that same reality. We do not go back to all of our
- 4:53futile thinking in ways we are a new creation.
- 4:57If any man is in Christ, friends, and that is the reality
- 5:02that Paul is pinning to them, saying, listen, you will know
- 5:07that you know that you know that you know that you are born
- 5:11again, because you will not hear things the same way that you
- 5:15used to. You will not see things the same
- 5:18way that you used to. You will not go back into your
- 5:22carnal fleshy ways, friends. And when you do not if, but when
- 5:28you do, you will feel the conviction immediately and you
- 5:32will start closing the gap and you will no longer keep relying
- 5:36on your emotions and keep relying upon your feelings.
- 5:40And you'll replace all the lies that the enemy is sowing into
- 5:44your life and all the things that you've been pre programmed
- 5:47and indoctrinated with. You'll start replacing every
- 5:51single one of them with the truth of God by taking every
- 5:55thought captive and making it obedient unto Christ.
- 5:58And that is the mark of a sold out, born again, blood bought
- 6:03believer who's going to bust heaven wide open for in such
- 6:10trust have we through Christ to God word.
- 6:13That is the whole point of the whole matter.
- 6:15Friends, you must have a personal relationship with God
- 6:20through his Son Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit that
- 6:25empowers us to live the Christian life.
- 6:28It is not because we're so clever and our Q is so high, or
- 6:33the degrees that we have hanging on the wall.
- 6:36Friends, it does not save us. It is only by the blood of the
- 6:39Lamb that we are marked and sealed for all time sake.
- 6:43And then it is the receiving of the Holy Spirit, the down
- 6:48payment, friends, that helps us to live out the Christian life
- 6:53towards God through Christ. 5 Not that we are sufficient of
- 7:00ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our
- 7:04sufficiency is of God. There's nothing good in us.
- 7:08All of our righteousness is filthy rags.
- 7:10There is none good, no, not one. And all have fallen short of the
- 7:15glory of God. And we desperately need to be in
- 7:18dwelled and filled with the Holy Ghost to be able to operate in a
- 7:23way that is pleasing unto God Almighty.
- 7:26And you need to understand that yourself, salvation is not
- 7:30behavioral based when you have the indwelling of the Holy
- 7:35Spirit friends, that is what helps you to operate within this
- 7:41world and to do the things that please God.
- 7:45But it is not the salvation. Salvation is only by placing
- 7:50your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 7:52It is not of works so that any man should boast.
- 7:58Our sufficiency is of God. Six, who also has made us able
- 8:03ministers of the New Testament, not of the letter but of the
- 8:07Spirit. For the letter kills, but the
- 8:10Spirit gives life. That is what you need to
- 8:13understand. The New Testament complements
- 8:16the Old Testament. It does not abolish the Old
- 8:19Testament. The Old Testament is fulfilled
- 8:23through the life of Christ, friends, and you need to
- 8:26understand that the Spirit filled life will fully satisfy
- 8:31all of the law, Friends. 7 But if the ministration of death,
- 8:38written and engraven in stones was glorious, so that the
- 8:42children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of
- 8:46Moses for the glory of his countenance, which glory was to
- 8:50be done away, so that is what you need to understand.
- 8:54As Moses came down from Mount Sinai and he had spent time with
- 8:58God, his face was shining like the sun that the children of
- 9:03Israel asked him to put a veil, veil over his face.
- 9:06But then Moses kept the veil over his face to keep the
- 9:09children of Israel from seeing that that glory was fading and
- 9:13passing away. And so we know that now this
- 9:17glory does not pass away. It is bright, as shining as the
- 9:21sun. It does not fade, friends.
- 9:23And He is showing that in the Law it was never able to save
- 9:28us. The Law was placed there for one
- 9:31purpose and one purpose alone. The entirety of God's law in the
- 9:37Old Testament was to point us in the direction of Jesus Christ
- 9:45and that we could. It was to show us that we could
- 9:47never save ourselves. We could never satisfy all of
- 9:52the requirements of God to save ourselves.
- 9:55There is not one single human being that has ever been born,
- 10:00is living, or will be born that could ever uphold every single
- 10:07facet, every single jot and title of the law.
- 10:12There is no not one. Only Christ came and lived a
- 10:16perfect life and completely satisfied all of the law and
- 10:21then satisfied all of the wrath of God on the cross.
- 10:25It was all poured out on Him. Friends, 8 How shall not the
- 10:31ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious?
- 10:35The the ministration, the ministry of the Spirit is more
- 10:41glorious than any of the glory of the law is what is being said
- 10:46here. 94 If the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more
- 10:52does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
- 10:56So that is what you need to understand.
- 10:58All of the law pointed towards our need for Christ, every
- 11:02single bit of it. And when we come into the saving
- 11:05knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, all of the law is
- 11:09fulfilled, all of the wrath of God is fulfilled, and blessed is
- 11:14the man whose sins will never be counted against him.
- 11:23And that is the glory of the Spirit that dwells inside of us
- 11:28is we're going to stand before Almighty God and he's not going
- 11:32to see a single one of our sins, not a single one of our sins.
- 11:37They are thrown as far as the east is from the West.
- 11:41Friends, infinitely gone, never to be remembered when you are
- 11:47indwelled with the Holy Spirit and whenever you have placed
- 11:49your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord Jesus Christ
- 11:53alone and not in sin and not in self, not in this world and not
- 11:57in works. Friends, it is in Jesus and
- 12:00Jesus and Jesus alone that we find salvation 10/4.
- 12:11Even that which was made glorious had no glory in this
- 12:14respect by reason of the glory that excels.
- 12:18It is the glory of the Spirit that indwells us, that far
- 12:23exceeds any of our works, any of our deeds.
- 12:28We can know that we know that we know that.
- 12:31We know that we are going to get into heaven because of what
- 12:35Christ did and not of anything that we have done. 11 For if
- 12:41that which is done away was glorious, much more that which
- 12:46remains is glorious. It is much more glorious
- 12:51whenever we're not trying to work our way into heaven, when
- 12:54we rest in the finished work of the cross 12 seeing then that we
- 13:01have such hope, we use great plainness of speech.
- 13:05We do not need to try and sound very learned.
- 13:09We do not need to try super to be super eloquent friends.
- 13:14We make it plain, we use plain speech.
- 13:19Jesus is Lord, Jesus is King, Jesus is the Lord of Lords and
- 13:25Jesus is the King of kings and we should not wait on another.
- 13:30He is the all sufficient sacrifice.
- 13:32He is the only one that can atone for our sins.
- 13:37It is the perfect life of Jesus Christ that gets us there when
- 13:41we place our faith, our complete faith in him and in Him alone,
- 13:47Friends. 13 and not as Moses, which put a veil over his face
- 13:54that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to
- 13:58the end of that which is abolished.
- 14:01And we know that Christ said he did not come to abolish the law,
- 14:05but to fulfill it. And here it is showing the
- 14:09fulfillment of the law is what is referenced here. 14 But their
- 14:14minds were blinded, for until this day remains the same veil
- 14:20untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament, which veil is
- 14:24done away in Christ. And that is the sad reality of
- 14:29the blindness, the spiritual blindness of the nation of
- 14:33Israel today. And there are some who have come
- 14:37into the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as their
- 14:42Messiah. But by and large, their
- 14:44blindness is so that we can come, the Gentiles can come in,
- 14:49and then it will be the jealousy.
- 14:51When the Jews see the Gentiles coming into the Kingdom, the
- 14:55jealousy will be provoked that will get them to acknowledge
- 14:58that Jesus is Lord, that Jesus is the Messiah.
- 15:02But as it stands today, there is this veil that is put over them,
- 15:07this spiritual blindness that still is in effect today, that
- 15:11God has placed their friends for our benefit. 15 But even unto
- 15:20this day, when Moses is red, the veil is upon their heart, so you
- 15:24can see this spiritual blindness. 16 Nevertheless, when
- 15:28it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.
- 15:34There's coming a time, there's coming a day, friends, and it'll
- 15:38by and large be within the tribulation, the seven-year
- 15:42tribulation of hell on earth that the nation of Israel will
- 15:45see that Jesus Christ is their long-awaited Messiah and they
- 15:51need not wait on another 17. Now the Lord is that spirit and
- 16:00where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.
- 16:03That is what you need to understand.
- 16:05When the Holy Spirit breaks out, there is great freedom and
- 16:08people start getting set free friends.
- 16:11And we know that God is a spirit and he is an all consuming fire
- 16:15and He dwells in unapproachable light friends, in just a little
- 16:20bit of his glory is enough to flip the entire world right side
- 16:25up friends. And that is what we desperately
- 16:27crave and push for. We want God to come and get His
- 16:30glory in and through our lives friends.
- 16:33And whenever we see this freedom break out, the captives get set
- 16:38free, the chains fall off, and they live lives that are holy
- 16:42and pleasing unto God. 18 But we all with open face, beholding as
- 16:51in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same
- 16:57image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
- 17:03So right now we can only see in part, friends, right now we can
- 17:08only see glimpses and catch glimpses of all of the glory of
- 17:13God. And He satisfies us and leaves
- 17:16us longing for more. And what you need to understand
- 17:21is that we're going from glory to glory, friends, and we're
- 17:24going to be ushered into His presence, and it'll be far more
- 17:29exceedingly great than we could ever ask or imagine anything we
- 17:34could ever even try to come up with.
- 17:41Words fail us this glory, friends, and when you come unto
- 17:47the Lord wholeheartedly, friends, and He gives you the
- 17:51Holy Spirit as a down payment, you understand this glory that
- 17:56is spoken of here. It is only in part now, but one
- 17:59day we will see Him fully and be known friends.
- 18:04Be known by Him as we are known friends, as He is known.
- 18:10I pray that you have been blessed this amazing chapter
- 18:14here in God's Word. I know I sure have.
- 18:17I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 18:19I love you. We'll see you back here
- 18:22tomorrow. God bless you.
