- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, what's up, everybody?
- 0:01Speaker 2: This is Steve Summers with the band Pretty Boy Floyd,
- 0:04Speaker 2: and we're going to be out in Australia.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Pretty Boy Floyd, Enough's Enough, and.
- 0:09Speaker 2: A lot of great local bands out there.
- 0:12Speaker 1: And we'll be there, what, November 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Is that it? That's the one, mate. That's the one indeed.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us today. Yeah, awesome.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Awesome. So as you say, man, pretty boy Floyd returned
- 0:25Speaker 3: to Australia this November with Enough's Enough for the Are
- 0:28Speaker 3: You Pretty Enough Tour, kicking off in Adelaide on November
- 0:30Speaker 3: 5th and hitting Melbourne and Sydney before finishing in Brisbane
- 0:33Speaker 3: on November the 8th.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Only a couple of months away now, bro. You're packed
- 0:37Speaker 1: and ready to go? Oh, yeah, I'm ready right now.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm always ready.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm still high from the last show.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Oh, that was a few days ago. Nice!
- 0:52Speaker 3: I think you were out here last with Glamfest in 2023,
- 0:56Speaker 3: so what's changed with the band since you were here last?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Let's see what changed with the band. We're better.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We got a new record coming out. Got a few
- 1:13Speaker 2: different members. But everything's great.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We're excited. We can't wait to kick ass.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Hell yeah. As I say, man, you're coming out with
- 1:22Speaker 3: enough's enough. So that sounds like a recipe for trouble
- 1:26Speaker 3: right there. You two band together.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we've known those guys for a while. They've been
- 1:32Speaker 2: on our same agency. And man, I've done so many
- 1:37Speaker 2: shows with them with the original lineup. And then, I mean,
- 1:41Speaker 2: their original lineup and then all the different stuff.
- 1:44Speaker 1: But me and Chip are real good. So we can't wait.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It's going to be great.
- 1:49Speaker 3: He's probably one of the nicest guys in music chip,
- 1:50Speaker 3: isn't he?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Isn't he something?
- 1:56Speaker 3: He's special.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And he's been built. He's totally headlined, sure, bro.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So does that mean he's going to chop and change
- 2:03Speaker 3: every night after he finishes?
- 2:07Speaker 2: You know, to be quite honest with you, I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 2: we honestly, we don't care.
- 2:13Speaker 1: We're going to go up there and do our thing
- 2:14Speaker 1: and kick ass.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And, you know, we're kind of, In a sense, we're,
- 2:18Speaker 2: you know, sure we came from the same time or so,
- 2:20Speaker 2: but we're different styles once we hit the stage.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So we don't care if we're before or after, you know. Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 2: But we always warn the bands that have to go
- 2:33Speaker 2: on after us.
- 2:34Speaker 1: They better be ready. Oh, yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And the press release describes your live show as loud, flashy,
- 2:42Speaker 3: and over the top.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So.
- 2:45Speaker 3: tell us tell us about your live show man what
- 2:48Speaker 3: to expect if no one's seen you before.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Um i mean you know i mean first of all
- 2:53Speaker 2: with all of our songs they're pretty.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Pretty rocking and shocking.
- 2:58Speaker 2: You know that you know and uh you know all
- 3:01Speaker 2: my guys are flashy and it's just a.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It's just a firecracker.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Of a show man i mean you know We love
- 3:11Speaker 2: bands like Kiss and old, old Motley Crue and stuff
- 3:14Speaker 2: like that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And we just can't wait to, you know, hit the stage.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But the bottom line of us is it's, you know,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's attitude.
- 3:23Speaker 2: It's great songs. And it shows, you know, full electricity,
- 3:29Speaker 2: full electricity on that stage.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Fuck yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Each show is going to see some of X Music's
- 3:35Speaker 3: finest bands to support, including Audio Rain, Carly Jewel, Wayward Kings,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and Runt. So as a seasoned international touring band, man,
- 3:41Speaker 3: like how important is it for you to showcase local
- 3:44Speaker 3: bands when you're away on tour?
- 3:47Speaker 2: Well, we're actually really excited on this one because we
- 3:50Speaker 2: know there's a lot of great bands on this run.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So it's just a compliment to us and them and everybody.
- 4:00Speaker 2: We're so happy that, you know, A lot of the shows,
- 4:04Speaker 2: when we hit some places, they just throw some bands
- 4:06Speaker 2: on there and this and that, whatever. But this is
- 4:09Speaker 2: going to be a really great lineup of shows.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, cool, man.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Pretty boy Floyd are, and they always have been, associated
- 4:16Speaker 3: with the infamous Sunset Strip, man. But being from this
- 4:19Speaker 3: side of the world, not many Australians had a chance
- 4:21Speaker 3: to actually experience those days. So were they as wild
- 4:24Speaker 3: and crazy as what people say?
- 4:25Speaker 1: 100%.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah. And I mean, yeah, especially me growing up in
- 4:32Speaker 2: California and, you know, from the beaches of Malibu and
- 4:37Speaker 2: Zuma and Hollywood Sunset Strip.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh, it was insane. I mean, come on.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I mean, I grew up, you know, I got to
- 4:45Speaker 2: see Van Halen, you know, and before they were, you know,
- 4:49Speaker 2: as big as they were.
- 4:51Speaker 1: So, no, the Sunset Strip, it was great. It was crazy.
- 4:55Speaker 2: You know, I got to see a lot of the
- 4:56Speaker 2: bands before that. Pretty Boy Floyd was out there, so
- 4:59Speaker 2: that was exciting. You know, when I was younger, you know,
- 5:02Speaker 2: getting to see, you know, early Motley Crue and Ratt
- 5:06Speaker 2: and Wasp and Great White.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And all those bands.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And then, you know, us coming around and kicking ass and,
- 5:13Speaker 2: you know, finishing off the 80s, you know, after bands like,
- 5:18Speaker 2: you know, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Warrant, all that kind
- 5:22Speaker 2: of stuff. So, oh, it was definitely insane.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 3: What are some of your craziest memories from being on
- 5:29Speaker 3: the strip?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Craziest memories? I mean, you know, we've all heard it
- 5:39Speaker 1: all or so.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Let's just say I always tell people, hey, man, we
- 5:42Speaker 2: did everything that Guns N' Roses and Motley did. We
- 5:45Speaker 2: just didn't, you know, we just don't have all the
- 5:47Speaker 2: mansions and all the bank accounts to show for it.
- 5:51Speaker 3: It means you probably had a better time then.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I mean, it was awesome.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And a band like us, you know, it's not like
- 6:00Speaker 2: we came on pretty fast and pretty hard. So we
- 6:03Speaker 2: really were only on the strip, you know, for eight
- 6:08Speaker 2: or nine shows.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And that was one year.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So that was pretty exciting to get in there and,
- 6:15Speaker 2: you know, become so.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Popular so fast. But that was the plan. That was
- 6:20Speaker 1: my plan from the start.
- 6:21Speaker 2: You know, we planned it out, you know, whether it
- 6:24Speaker 2: was two to three to four years of planning and
- 6:28Speaker 2: making sure the songs were right and the show was right. And,
- 6:31Speaker 2: you know, my brother was our manager. And, yeah, it
- 6:35Speaker 2: was great.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It was exciting. Yeah, cool.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You released your latest single, Lovesick, back in March, right?
- 6:41Speaker 3: So how was the reception for that? Did it go
- 6:43Speaker 3: down as well as you hoped?
- 6:46Speaker 1: Oh, it's been awesome so far. It's been awesome.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I mean, you know, we're putting all the stuff out
- 6:53Speaker 2: ourself So we're, you know, we're, uh, we're taking our time. We,
- 6:58Speaker 2: we know the material is great. I mean, I know
- 7:00Speaker 2: the song loves sick is awesome. So we're just kind of,
- 7:04Speaker 2: I would say we're still kind of just teasing it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: You know, we haven't, we haven't even officially launched it on, uh,
- 7:12Speaker 2: you know, all the social media platforms or even put
- 7:15Speaker 2: the video out yet, but the response we've got so far,
- 7:18Speaker 2: I mean, um, you know, I'm making all the singles
- 7:21Speaker 2: as we speak.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They just keep, uh, Keep selling. So it's been great.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, cool. And that song is taken from your album,
- 7:32Speaker 3: Wet Dreams, which will be out at some date in
- 7:34Speaker 3: the future, man. Is it a good sonic representation of
- 7:37Speaker 3: what to expect from the whole album?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 7:43Speaker 2: There's a lot of great songs, but it's definitely guitar-driven,
- 7:49Speaker 2: definitely incredible riffs. you know, great melodies and those big
- 7:56Speaker 2: chanting choruses.
- 7:57Speaker 1: But we got a lot of different stuff on this one.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I'm very proud, very proud of the way the songwriting
- 8:05Speaker 2: just came around.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And so people, I'm just very happy right now. Let's
- 8:13Speaker 1: just say. So yeah, we're taking our time to, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: get it out correctly. Yeah. Can you give us any
- 8:21Speaker 1: more info?
- 8:22Speaker 3: Have you got a working title or a rough release date?
- 8:27Speaker 1: To be honest, we don't right now.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Because, you know, we had a bunch of labels that
- 8:33Speaker 2: maybe wanted to take it, but the offers weren't good enough.
- 8:36Speaker 2: And so, you know, I mean, we have our whole
- 8:40Speaker 2: year planned with shows. We already have next year, half
- 8:45Speaker 2: of next year is already booked. And we're sitting here
- 8:47Speaker 2: with a bunch of great songs. So, you know, we
- 8:51Speaker 2: have a plan, but there's no rush.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. A lot of people put a rush on it. Oh,
- 8:58Speaker 1: they got the, the, the, the, done, and we'll put
- 8:59Speaker 1: it out there.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, it's, like, done. So,
- 9:05Speaker 2: we're enjoying right now just, you know, having love stick
- 9:08Speaker 2: out and giving people teasers of, you know, a ballad
- 9:12Speaker 2: or so or another rocker.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And it's been great. So, yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I would say, in my words, there's no real rush to,
- 9:20Speaker 2: excuse my language, there's no real rush to fuck it up.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I like that. Yeah. Are you going.
- 9:31Speaker 3: To road test any of the new ones on the
- 9:33Speaker 3: Aussie Crowdsway here? Are you going to hear some new material?
- 9:37Speaker 2: Well, you're definitely going to hear the Love Sick, that's
- 9:38Speaker 2: for sure. And you might hear one more or so.
- 9:42Speaker 2: And when we're doing the VIP greets and all that
- 9:45Speaker 2: kind of stuff, some of the people are going to
- 9:48Speaker 2: get to hear like two to three or four of
- 9:51Speaker 2: the finished ones.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So that's going to be a special part of the
- 9:55Speaker 1: meet and greet. Yeah, very nice, man.
- 9:57Speaker 3: And before we go, can you remember the first time
- 9:59Speaker 3: you heard one? of your songs played on the radio
- 10:01Speaker 3: and what song was it and where were you.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Let's see uh well actually i mean you remember that
- 10:09Speaker 2: big station knac back in california uh It was probably
- 10:15Speaker 2: when we were doing our demo deal. Like, we were
- 10:17Speaker 2: doing a demo deal for, like, MCA or so, and
- 10:19Speaker 2: we did, like, three songs. Maybe it was Rock and
- 10:23Speaker 2: Roll Outlaws or Only the Young or something else.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But....
- 10:30Speaker 2: So, yeah, it was one of those or so. But,
- 10:33Speaker 2: I mean, it was really cool when it was actually...
- 10:36Speaker 2: When the record was actually out, you know? And they're
- 10:39Speaker 2: playing it on, you know, the big stations or... The
- 10:42Speaker 2: first time we saw... saw ourselves on like headbangers ball
- 10:46Speaker 2: and all that kind of stuff.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That was, uh, that was awesome.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of the stuff for us went
- 10:51Speaker 2: really fast. So, um, it's hard to, uh, you know,
- 10:57Speaker 2: it's hard to put an exact finger on it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Cause it just went so fast, so fast.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's all right, Steve. Well, thanks very much
- 11:07Speaker 3: for your time, bro. It's been a pleasure catching up.
- 11:09Speaker 3: The Are You Pretty Enough tour kicks off November 5th.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Tickets through X Music. So see you in a couple
- 11:14Speaker 3: of months, brother.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Awesome. What show are you going to be at? Brisbane,
- 11:18Speaker 1: my friend. Brisbane. Awesome. I'll see you there for a beer.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Thank you so much. This was great. All right, mate.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Take care.
- 11:26Speaker 1: See you soon. Thank you.
