- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why. Is a founding member of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 2: What the.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Go, go go go, go, go, go go go here.
- 0:55Speaker 4: How my throat.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I would use that one.
- 0:59Speaker 4: All. Welcome to bfytw episode two, twenty six. It's just
- 1:08Speaker 4: gonna be a regular show. I don't know if you
- 1:09Speaker 4: can tell me. We're gonna have some fun. We're starting
- 1:12Speaker 4: off silly, right off the bats.
- 1:14Speaker 1: The best way to start, man, yetta start silly.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Just absolutely nonsensical. Just and it's starting with a reference
- 1:22Speaker 4: from like a decade ago and change maybe longer. Jesus
- 1:27Speaker 4: has been a bit like fifteen, seventeen, twenty years anyway.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Apologies if you didn't get it, but hopefully the insanity
- 1:41Speaker 4: of it wrote you in. It's just the three of us.
- 1:45Speaker 4: We're just gonna play some games and have some fun,
- 1:48Speaker 4: and I hope you come along for a ride. Let's
- 1:51Speaker 4: just start by introducing our usual suspects. He's a gamer
- 1:55Speaker 4: and a storyteller, and he used to be my youngest friend.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Now he's just awesome. It's age and applause.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I treat yourself, it will always yourself, suh. Yeah, no
- 2:29Speaker 3: one else, man, We're all we're all doing good.
- 2:31Speaker 4: We're all feeling good. So my question, I always do
- 2:34Speaker 4: a question to introduce people, even when it's just three
- 2:37Speaker 4: of us. So, Aggie, uh, is there something that you
- 2:44Speaker 4: use to get yourself out of a funk? So you're
- 2:48Speaker 4: in a low mood?
- 2:50Speaker 2: So yeah, Actually, I mean there's a couple of things, Okay, Navally,
- 2:55Speaker 2: video games is like number one on that list, because
- 2:57Speaker 2: video games are awesome and they can kind of take
- 2:59Speaker 2: you out of a shitty world and put you in
- 3:01Speaker 2: a different shitty world, but a.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Shitty world in which you have power to Yeah, would
- 3:06Speaker 4: you have power to actually control?
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:09Speaker 2: But one of the things that I haven't done it
- 3:11Speaker 2: in a while that really helps me get out of
- 3:14Speaker 2: funk is Dungeons and Dragons. It's always been a near
- 3:16Speaker 2: and dear game to my heart since I first was introduced.
- 3:20Speaker 2: It came to me in a time of my life
- 3:21Speaker 2: where nothing but stress, just very hardship after hardship after hardship,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and yeah, and playing D and D is just it's
- 3:32Speaker 2: a lot of fun and one of my favorite things
- 3:35Speaker 2: is making new characters, coming up with new ideas of
- 3:38Speaker 2: different characters you can make. It. Being so close to
- 3:42Speaker 2: my birthday a little retrospective, I'm like, okay with D
- 3:47Speaker 2: and D on the mind says, you know, another year,
- 3:49Speaker 2: another stress, but also wanting to come up with something fun.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, what if I made myself a D
- 3:57Speaker 2: and D character like as in me? And what kind
- 3:59Speaker 2: of stuf that's I would have? So I kind of
- 4:01Speaker 2: pieced together something and let me let me know what
- 4:04Speaker 2: you think. So obviously character named Augie because it's everybody
- 4:07Speaker 2: calls me. It's not my actual name, it's just my
- 4:09Speaker 2: nickname that everybody calls.
- 4:11Speaker 1: My class is poor.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I beg the d M. I prayed to the DM
- 4:17Speaker 2: all the time to let me change it. I don't
- 4:19Speaker 2: think they like me very much. So my uh, my
- 4:23Speaker 2: race is human with our question mark.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Why the question mark?
- 4:28Speaker 2: Because you never know.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Oh yeah, there could be some Sasquatch blood in there.
- 4:32Speaker 2: That's what I've been told. Who knows, right? Uh, My
- 4:35Speaker 2: background is Italian.
- 4:37Speaker 4: You should see if you can dual race, because honestly,
- 4:39Speaker 4: there might be some racial benefits to being a sasques
- 4:43Speaker 4: a half Sasquatch. What would that be like.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Half Cutch, half cut, half Cutch.
- 4:52Speaker 2: My background is my background is Italian American, which gives
- 4:58Speaker 2: me proficiency with talking fast with my hands and eating
- 5:00Speaker 2: a lot of spaghetti. Yes, my alignment is neutral. Good
- 5:05Speaker 2: because I'm a bitch.
- 5:07Speaker 4: No, no, no, I would argue highly again, not a bit.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I'm level thirty two, but I'm three days away from digging.
- 5:14Speaker 1: To level thirty three.
- 5:17Speaker 2: My strength is average. My dexterity goes down every year.
- 5:22Speaker 2: My constitution is a dice roll. My intelligence is questionable,
- 5:29Speaker 2: but my wisdom does go up every year, so that's
- 5:31Speaker 2: a plus. Yes, but my cou roisma is outstanding.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I would agree with that.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, my initiative is maybe tomorrow. My hit points are
- 5:44Speaker 2: sixty nine, but there are temporary.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I've got skill prefer usually is.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Usually for so long.
- 5:53Speaker 2: My skills are animal handling, nature and procrastination, and I'm
- 5:59Speaker 2: prefer in English, three words of French and giving Aaron
- 6:03Speaker 2: non answers to his questions.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I mean, this is the exact opposite of that. You
- 6:07Speaker 4: gave me the answer and then.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So that's true. I've been working on.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Well, thank you for that. That was very very funny. Yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 4: that's awesome, great answer, Stevie, best of luck. You got
- 6:22Speaker 4: a step to that. He's a veteran and the podcaster
- 6:27Speaker 4: and as it turns out, he's a veteran podcaster. It's
- 6:30Speaker 4: Stevie's Steve.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I was not this either, but I was not expecting
- 6:44Speaker 1: you to come in swinging before the first pitch was
- 6:48Speaker 1: even thrown.
- 6:49Speaker 2: So Jesus so fucking strong, bestil I don't get drunk
- 6:54Speaker 2: at National anthem singings.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Same question. I feel like you're not the kind of
- 6:59Speaker 4: person who often finds themselves in a funk, but when
- 7:03Speaker 4: you do? Sorry, did I just completely read you wrong?
- 7:06Speaker 4: I was a terrible friend for you. Suffer with constant.
- 7:11Speaker 1: For the twenty minutes prior to this, I was laying
- 7:13Speaker 1: on the ground outside and like like a ship movie. Actually, yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 1: playing out there for like an hour on the ground outside.
- 7:21Speaker 4: So that I guess that may answer my question. When
- 7:24Speaker 4: do you do when you're in that kind of funk?
- 7:26Speaker 4: And how do you get yourself out of it?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Lately? No joke, it's been going for a walk and
- 7:31Speaker 1: I don't walk well, but I'll I'll leave the apartment.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'll come down here and just walk around the yard hobble.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah it's more I need balances, But yeah, getting outside,
- 7:43Speaker 1: especially now because it's actually nice and yeah, it's not
- 7:46Speaker 1: a shitty out, you know. So it's like I'm trying
- 7:48Speaker 1: to nice and the sun naturally is an upper, like
- 7:53Speaker 1: you do get those positive rays. I feel better when
- 7:55Speaker 1: I do the sun, so it like helps. And if
- 7:58Speaker 1: I can't get the other be I need a the
- 8:00Speaker 1: vitamin D, you.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Know, but as opposed to erl D, right, yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: The unnatural D. You can't do that. Yeah, no, outside
- 8:14Speaker 1: I do. I suffer from depression like hard, I do it,
- 8:18Speaker 1: but I'm I'm medicated ninety eight percent of my time.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I'm awake, so it's like try to numb it out.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But yeah, like outside, outside is good. Outside is great.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But you know what makes me happy my friends and
- 8:32Speaker 1: talking to people.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Yeah it is.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But yeah, no, like I'm already in a better mood.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I mean yeah, once everybody showed up and they started talking, I'm.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Like, this is just better kind of naturally an upper.
- 8:41Speaker 4: It is completely an upper. Just just doing this right,
- 8:44Speaker 4: I mean, it has value even in that. So even
- 8:47Speaker 4: if even if we never take off to be the
- 8:49Speaker 4: massive success that we are destined to be, let's be clear,
- 8:52Speaker 4: just because.
- 8:53Speaker 1: All those people are wrong who make the decisions.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Because because the people who don't support us wrong.
- 8:59Speaker 2: They're not here, they don't hear because to listen to
- 9:01Speaker 2: this anyways, nobody ever makes that argument that people who
- 9:04Speaker 2: don't support us.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Umber once in history also fu y'all.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Well, I'm glad to hear that, and I will finally
- 9:16Speaker 4: introduce myself as the host. I am pantiless.
- 9:19Speaker 6: Aaron hit it, He'll check some stoners for a La.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Mexican you Maxicon, you absolute legend. You I cannot okay, all.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Right, Aaron glorious, Okay.
- 9:45Speaker 4: All right, there's a point which it becomes too.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Much hold on that button broke.
- 10:01Speaker 4: So yeah, So I there's a reason I picked this
- 10:07Speaker 4: particular question, and then just the past couple of weeks,
- 10:10Speaker 4: I have been kind of just kind of sitting in
- 10:13Speaker 4: this funk for like too long. Honestly. It started when
- 10:17Speaker 4: I started looking for like a house, because I've been
- 10:19Speaker 4: living in the same apartment for nine years and couldn't
- 10:23Speaker 4: find anything that I could afford that wasn't like about
- 10:27Speaker 4: to fall apart any minute, you know, Like the ones
- 10:30Speaker 4: I could afford are all like, you know, fixed me up,
- 10:32Speaker 4: and I'm in no shape to do that, Like I
- 10:34Speaker 4: just and I wouldn't know how to do.
- 10:35Speaker 1: It's a fixer upper for like a carpenter.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Yeah, for an actual carboner, Like I know what you're doing,
- 10:40Speaker 4: you know, and I am not that person. I do
- 10:45Speaker 4: not have the strength of will to do that. Unlike
- 10:48Speaker 4: our friends Andy and Karen from Definant Monkey, who did
- 10:50Speaker 4: exactly that. Yeah, they have a they have a huge house,
- 10:54Speaker 4: but it needed a lot of work, but they settled
- 10:56Speaker 4: in to do it. They've been there for like five
- 10:58Speaker 4: six years and it actually, you know, it's actually livable now.
- 11:02Speaker 4: But it took a lot of effort and a lot
- 11:04Speaker 4: of time. And I just I cannot see. I cannot
- 11:07Speaker 4: see myself putting in that kind of effort, Like I.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Just going to work all day, coming home to like,
- 11:12Speaker 1: all right, let's work, let's.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Start working again. You know. I just I don't think
- 11:16Speaker 4: I could do it. I think I just fall apart.
- 11:19Speaker 4: So with a house out of reach, I was like, oh,
- 11:21Speaker 4: you know, it might be fun. My truck's all paid off.
- 11:24Speaker 4: It's it's not going to last forever. So I started
- 11:26Speaker 4: looking at trucks and I looked at those and I
- 11:28Speaker 4: was like, man, you know, I I could afford that,
- 11:31Speaker 4: but it would put me in my absolute limit, you know,
- 11:34Speaker 4: to get the truck that I wanted. I mentioned I
- 11:36Speaker 4: went looking at a Ford Maverick. Yeah, and I really
- 11:39Speaker 4: liked that truck quite a lot, but it's like still
- 11:41Speaker 4: like twenty six twenty seven thousand dollars after the transit
- 11:45Speaker 4: from Ford from Ford's factories in Mexico. So yeah, yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 4: So I was just like, I was like, man, I
- 11:54Speaker 4: just feeling I was feeling very trapped, and I think
- 11:57Speaker 4: that just dragged me down a bit into a bad
- 11:59Speaker 4: place for a while, and I didn't get a lot done,
- 12:03Speaker 4: Like I just kind of shut down. I just kind
- 12:05Speaker 4: of was goofing around doing usual stuff on on It
- 12:10Speaker 4: was of the Internet and just watching Internet videos and
- 12:13Speaker 4: just not like it was just all background shit like
- 12:15Speaker 4: you know there, Yeah, it was just it was just
- 12:17Speaker 4: there to distract me from my own brain. But eventually
- 12:21Speaker 4: I think I just what brought me out of it
- 12:24Speaker 4: more than anything. I mean, there was there was the
- 12:27Speaker 4: last episode we did of this podcast, which was huge
- 12:33Speaker 4: and so much fun, and I laughed hysterically. The think
- 12:36Speaker 4: show folks are absolutely wonderful, and I just it just
- 12:42Speaker 4: helped me get out of it, and I was like,
- 12:43Speaker 4: I don't want to feel like this anymore. And so
- 12:46Speaker 4: I started working on and I was like, next time
- 12:48Speaker 4: I start, you know, just goofrom putting on background noise
- 12:51Speaker 4: in the internet. I'm actually going to start having fun.
- 12:53Speaker 4: So that's what I did. I started making sure that
- 12:55Speaker 4: even if I was by myself, even if I was alone,
- 12:57Speaker 4: I was going to do something that was going to
- 12:59Speaker 4: be fun.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Hell yeah, you.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Know, So I started. I started. I started a new
- 13:04Speaker 4: project involving my book. Like, so my book is is
- 13:10Speaker 4: a thing is a first edition. You know, obviously, it's
- 13:13Speaker 4: never had a second edition. It's going to now really
- 13:17Speaker 4: because of all the changes we made for the audiobook,
- 13:20Speaker 4: all the backers who put their you know, oh yeah
- 13:22Speaker 4: back to get their name in the audiobook, they're going
- 13:25Speaker 4: to have their name in the real book too. From
- 13:27Speaker 4: the second edition onward. Their names are actually going to
- 13:31Speaker 4: be in the physical book as well.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Oh that's cool.
- 13:34Speaker 4: And I've decided that the second edition is going to
- 13:36Speaker 4: be like a more of a smaller pocket size. I
- 13:39Speaker 4: think it's like five by seven and I don't know
- 13:41Speaker 4: the exact measurements, but so five by okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 4: that is six by nine. Yeah, okay, So it's going
- 13:48Speaker 4: to be a wee bit. It's going to be two
- 13:51Speaker 4: inches shorter, uh, and like one inch less wide. That's
- 13:55Speaker 4: also so it's going to be smaller, and it will
- 13:58Speaker 4: also hopefully be cheaper, like I'm hoping that I can
- 14:01Speaker 4: get the price down to like fifteen dollars, like fourteen
- 14:05Speaker 4: ninety nine, because the one thing I was upset about
- 14:08Speaker 4: was the fact that to make any money off thing
- 14:11Speaker 4: at all. My original book, the first edition was twenty
- 14:15Speaker 4: five dollars, which is high, right for a for a book,
- 14:19Speaker 4: especially for a book that doesn't have like a like
- 14:21Speaker 4: a binding, like oh, you're going to say pictures, like
- 14:24Speaker 4: like like a hardcover binding. Like if I wanted to
- 14:28Speaker 4: put color in there, it would have been even more.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 14:31Speaker 4: And I did want to put color in there, but
- 14:33Speaker 4: I couldn't like it just it would have driven the
- 14:34Speaker 4: price even higher.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And I was like, is there with a red pan?
- 14:39Speaker 4: I felt very trapped, and I was like, I can't.
- 14:41Speaker 4: And I was like, okay, So the the writing program
- 14:45Speaker 4: I use that automatically type sets the book for me
- 14:48Speaker 4: doesn't type set a pocket sized edition that isn't four
- 14:52Speaker 4: hundred pages plus. I was like, holy shit, what are
- 14:55Speaker 4: you doing? So I immediately thick. I was like, I
- 15:01Speaker 4: just started looking into typesetting myself. So when I'm not
- 15:04Speaker 4: working on learning how to typeset by myself, which is
- 15:09Speaker 4: an absolutely phenomenal skill which is gonna help me immensely,
- 15:13Speaker 4: it means my book will have whatever type font I want, whatever,
- 15:17Speaker 4: you know, whatever, like notes in the top and bottom
- 15:19Speaker 4: of the page that I want, I can decide how
- 15:21Speaker 4: I want to do it. And so I'm learning a
- 15:24Speaker 4: new skill effectively. Yeah, and whenever I'm taking time off,
- 15:28Speaker 4: I'm making sure to do something other than just sit
- 15:30Speaker 4: and watch internet videos. I've been doing a lot of
- 15:33Speaker 4: video gaming lately. I've gotten into Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
- 15:37Speaker 4: for the GBA, especially because there's a rom haack for
- 15:40Speaker 4: it called Aria of Sorrow Alter, which does one of
- 15:45Speaker 4: the few things I wish like Castlevania simply the Night
- 15:48Speaker 4: had done, you know, so many other great games in
- 15:52Speaker 4: that same genre. I don't. I mean, it's got to
- 15:56Speaker 4: be a ton of work, but this guy actually re
- 16:00Speaker 4: designed the entire map, so it's actually like a brand
- 16:04Speaker 4: new castle that players have never explored before. So if
- 16:08Speaker 4: you've played Aria of Sorrow and you liked it, you're
- 16:11Speaker 4: gonna like Aria of Sorrow Alter.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Because the same half.
- 16:14Speaker 4: No, it's not even close. It's very different. It's very different.
- 16:18Speaker 4: It's it's practically it's got the same story, it's got
- 16:21Speaker 4: the same characters, it's got it's got slightly better combat tweaking.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I feel there's there's definitely some very hard parts, like
- 16:30Speaker 4: the the the death arena is very very difficult. Do
- 16:35Speaker 4: not tackle until you're like level fifty or something. It
- 16:38Speaker 4: was very hard. I got killed. I tried going like
- 16:41Speaker 4: a level thirty five and got absolutely destroyed. So yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 4: it's it's tough, and some of those rooms are absolutely evil,
- 16:50Speaker 4: especially because you're not allowed to use souls at all,
- 16:54Speaker 4: so you're your soul's powers are completely out the window.
- 16:56Speaker 4: So I've been enjoying that. I've been dabbling back into
- 16:59Speaker 4: Degan Rompa because you know, a world in which teenagers
- 17:02Speaker 4: murder each other is still considered light entertainments America compared
- 17:06Speaker 4: to the world we're currently living in. So yeah, so
- 17:10Speaker 4: it's it's it's finding something that I actually enjoy, that
- 17:13Speaker 4: is fun, that that helps get me out of it.
- 17:16Speaker 4: And of course, like I said, this podcast is a
- 17:18Speaker 4: huge boost, So thank you to everybody who listens and
- 17:22Speaker 4: writes in and joins our Patreon all that stuff. Thank you,
- 17:27Speaker 4: you are legitimately like helping us keep it together. Yes,
- 17:34Speaker 4: you are such a boon not only to the show's
- 17:36Speaker 4: uh you know, the show, the show's technological health, like
- 17:41Speaker 4: keeping all of our equipment updated and in good condition,
- 17:44Speaker 4: but you're also like, our mental health is so much
- 17:47Speaker 4: better because you choose to support us. So thank you
- 17:49Speaker 4: a million times over. I'll read off your names at
- 17:52Speaker 4: the end of the show, but you know who you are.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Thank you so much. Let's get onto the show, shall we.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do some games and stuff. Man, I'm excited.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I'm talking long enough. Let me talk some more. It's
- 18:01Speaker 4: game one, Game one podcast. Game one is going to
- 18:09Speaker 4: be like share block. I've got three news stories here.
- 18:12Speaker 4: All you have to do is tell me which of
- 18:14Speaker 4: these new stories I would like, which I would share in,
- 18:16Speaker 4: which I would block on social media. I picked one
- 18:19Speaker 4: for eight for all three, and there must be there
- 18:22Speaker 4: must be a correct combination, and whichever player gets closest
- 18:26Speaker 4: nails it or gets closest will win. And we're gonna start.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Oh boy, we've got some good stories. Got some good
- 18:33Speaker 4: stories as we Let me tell you story number one.
- 18:36Speaker 4: South Korean contramand list now includes Trader Joe's Everything Bagels.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Hey when I say everything, maybe every Trader Joe's Everything,
- 18:49Speaker 1: but the bagels.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Seasoning mix is one of America's most popular exports, and
- 18:54Speaker 4: we have recently learned that it is now illegal in
- 18:58Speaker 4: South Korea.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Uh.
- 19:00Speaker 4: The the blend, which is very popular with influencers and
- 19:04Speaker 4: is regularly in recipes on TikTok, contains salt, minced garlic,
- 19:09Speaker 4: sesame seeds, and poppy seeds. And that's the poppy seeds.
- 19:15Speaker 4: The poppy seeds are the problem. Okay, so yeah, there
- 19:21Speaker 4: there's a a a user on Twitter I refuse to
- 19:24Speaker 4: call it by that other stupid name, shared a poster
- 19:28Speaker 4: from the airport. It had a picture of the seasoning
- 19:30Speaker 4: mix and red and Korean. We would like to inform
- 19:33Speaker 4: you that the following products containing poppy seeds are restricted
- 19:36Speaker 4: from being brought into the country as Papa Vera somniferum L,
- 19:41Speaker 4: an ingredient of the poppy family designated as a narcotic
- 19:44Speaker 4: substance ye under South Korea's Narcotics Drugs Control law, has
- 19:48Speaker 4: been detected. Yes, but in how great in amount? It's
- 19:55Speaker 4: gotta be MENI fucking skulls.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Do you know any poppy seeds you have to actually
- 19:59Speaker 1: eat for the sh oil on a test let alone
- 20:01Speaker 1: to affect your body. It's stupid. Like, yeah, it's just
- 20:05Speaker 1: I think I asked edumacation Andy or he said it
- 20:07Speaker 1: at one point like back in the day, and I'm like, wow, dude,
- 20:11Speaker 1: that's crazy. Happened.
- 20:13Speaker 2: The South Korean black market is full of these bagels.
- 20:17Speaker 2: They're everywhere.
- 20:20Speaker 1: They're affecting from the north, setting them to the north.
- 20:27Speaker 2: It's always got to feed those people.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Wow, Yeah, that's it.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's I get that like that.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I understand why they do it. It's stupid, but I
- 20:45Speaker 1: understand why. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess.
- 20:50Speaker 2: People could like repurpose it. I'm assuming if you get
- 20:52Speaker 2: the seeds I guess you can get a couple to grow,
- 20:54Speaker 2: and because wuldn't it be cheaper to buy the bagel
- 20:55Speaker 2: and repurpose the seeds than it is to get there.
- 20:58Speaker 4: But you'd have to have so much any Like there
- 21:01Speaker 4: should be like a volume check if you have above
- 21:03Speaker 4: a certain amount, like maybe you limit it to two
- 21:06Speaker 4: canisters of the seasoning. We're not gonna get enough off
- 21:10Speaker 4: that to get an ant high.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Okay, like just said it's with salt and other stuff.
- 21:15Speaker 1: It probably killed that seat anyway.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I mean, did we just hear a story recently about
- 21:19Speaker 2: a dude smuggling like two hundred steaks in his pants.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, like the heck. I mean, people, wou you.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Be so much more grateful to find cans of.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Like crawling on your arm?
- 21:33Speaker 2: What's wrong? Your pants are full of.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Bagels and there's a problem with this.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Yes, they're not toasted.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Take it out of the toaster for the love of god.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Itchy, I got this chafing, doc, What are you doing different? Different?
- 21:56Speaker 1: When I stop buttering it?
- 22:01Speaker 4: Oh God, let's move on to story.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That can't go on.
- 22:04Speaker 4: TikTok story number two. Seven stars that should not be
- 22:10Speaker 4: Harold's discovery of a rare black hole instead of a
- 22:14Speaker 4: JRPG storyline. Yeah so. An international team of astronomers astronomers
- 22:22Speaker 4: have used more than five hundred images from NASA's Hubble
- 22:26Speaker 4: Space telescope, spanning over the past two decades, to detect
- 22:30Speaker 4: seven fast moving stars in the innermost region of Omega Centauri,
- 22:35Speaker 4: the largest and brightest globular cluster in the sky, and
- 22:39Speaker 4: these provide new evidence for the presence of an intermediate
- 22:43Speaker 4: mass black hole, which are which are a rare site.
- 22:49Speaker 4: All the black holes we know of are either very
- 22:51Speaker 4: very very small or super massive. Yep, nobody's found a
- 22:55Speaker 4: medium size black hole until just now, apparently.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Because somebody used it to travel through a wormhole and
- 23:04Speaker 1: they left the door open.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Maybe I'm gonna say, it's like just multiple stars closer together.
- 23:09Speaker 1: That's just and eventually one.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I mean, that's not new is Paramount's been doing that forever.
- 23:16Speaker 4: So the reason for this discovery is uh. The A
- 23:22Speaker 4: gentleman at the Max Plank Institute for Astronomy in Germany
- 23:25Speaker 4: who led this investigation said, we just if he discovered
- 23:29Speaker 4: seven stars, it should not be out. Yeah, I'm moving
- 23:33Speaker 4: so fast that they should escape the cluster and never
- 23:35Speaker 4: come back. It's the most likely explanation is that a
- 23:39Speaker 4: very massive object is gravitationally pulling on these stars and
- 23:43Speaker 4: keeping them close to the CENTA.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Why does your German accent always make things how more sexual?
- 23:50Speaker 1: When I was in Germany, I went to Germany. I
- 23:54Speaker 1: was there for two weeks.
- 23:56Speaker 4: If you're listening, I'm so sorry.
- 23:58Speaker 1: All I remembers Amsterdam from Europe. That's it.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Far as you remembered, Amsterdam is.
- 24:02Speaker 4: The only objects that can be so massive is a
- 24:05Speaker 4: black hole? This this a mass at least eighty two
- 24:10Speaker 4: hundred times is that of our sun?
- 24:13Speaker 1: Holy shit?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, Hans, do you know who else can be
- 24:16Speaker 2: that big? Your mom?
- 24:18Speaker 4: Oh no, sick burn snap.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Can remind me of the German group in Pitch Perfect two.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Definitely not German.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well you could walk away with those sixty thighs. God,
- 24:38Speaker 1: why she's so hot? I don't know what those are
- 24:41Speaker 1: the lines, but I love that fucking movie.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Wow.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Oh right, our forgiveness to all German people for your accent.
- 24:51Speaker 4: American mock. But I am absolutely one thousand percent stealing
- 24:58Speaker 4: the idea of stars being in a place station should
- 25:00Speaker 4: not be to start off a role playing storyline.
- 25:05Speaker 1: That's all right, ready for story number three? Sure, let's
- 25:09Speaker 1: do it.
- 25:11Speaker 4: New York City baywatch drones being torn apart by angry
- 25:16Speaker 4: birds who have run out of pigs to attack. Yeah, so,
- 25:23Speaker 4: New York City beaches have started using these drones that
- 25:26Speaker 4: would fly in and literally bring a struggling swimmer a
- 25:31Speaker 4: life saving device like inflatable tube or something anything to
- 25:35Speaker 4: help them out while the lifeguard would get there. It's
- 25:39Speaker 4: not a replacement for a lifeguard, but it is meant
- 25:41Speaker 4: to be something that can get assistance to a swimmer
- 25:44Speaker 4: faster than.
- 25:48Speaker 1: That's cool, it seems.
- 25:51Speaker 4: It seems genuinely like a very good idea. However, since
- 25:55Speaker 4: the drones began flying in May, flocks of birds have
- 25:59Speaker 4: repeatedly sworn the devices, forcing the police department and other
- 26:03Speaker 4: city agencies to adjust their flight plans. While the attacks
- 26:06Speaker 4: have slowed, they have not stopped completely, fueling concern from
- 26:11Speaker 4: wildlife experts about the impact on threatened species nesting along
- 26:15Speaker 4: the coast.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So all you need to really do is attach on
- 26:18Speaker 1: those electric fly swatter things to your drone and then
- 26:21Speaker 1: when those birds come to hit your fucking drone to
- 26:23Speaker 1: get shocked and fly away.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Right.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I get that this isn't exactly how it's working out
- 26:30Speaker 2: over there, but just kind of like as a point
- 26:33Speaker 2: out the obvious. Though they're worried about the birds and
- 26:37Speaker 2: their natural habitat because of the drones, they seem less
- 26:42Speaker 2: worried about the fishing, vessels, ships, people swimming and throwing
- 26:48Speaker 2: their garbage in that same water.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Right, Who cares?
- 26:54Speaker 2: The drones are harming the birds.
- 26:57Speaker 4: No fuck wits you are.
- 27:02Speaker 2: The birds are just defending themselves, kind of like the
- 27:05Speaker 2: orcas attacking the fishing vessels. Right, it's happening. You're fucked up,
- 27:10Speaker 2: and now Nature's coming back.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Motherfucker.
- 27:17Speaker 4: You fucked up Mother Nature's pissed job nobody wanted anyway.
- 27:28Speaker 4: That's all three stories. I'll just briefly go over them
- 27:32Speaker 4: one more time. A story number one South Korean contrband
- 27:34Speaker 4: list now includes Trader Joe's Everything Bagels uh, story number
- 27:38Speaker 4: two seven Stars that should not be Harold's discovery of
- 27:41Speaker 4: rare black hole instead of jag storyline, And finally, story
- 27:45Speaker 4: number three NYC bay Watch drones being torn apart by
- 27:48Speaker 4: angry birds who have run out of pigs to attack.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Which one of these would I like? Which one would
- 27:52Speaker 4: I block? And which one would I share? And I'm
- 27:56Speaker 4: going to start with Augie. Augie, I'm gonna give you
- 27:58Speaker 4: the first choice for absolutely no reason.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but no reason whatsoever, no reason. So I actually
- 28:04Speaker 2: think I think you blocked the the bagel story just because,
- 28:11Speaker 2: I mean, at the end of the day, it's because Poppy. See,
- 28:13Speaker 2: it's there's there's food restrictions across borders everywhere, even getting
- 28:18Speaker 2: into Canada. There's ship we can't bring up there, and
- 28:21Speaker 2: there's ship we can't bring back down here. So that's
- 28:23Speaker 2: not really anything new for us. So I think it's
- 28:27Speaker 2: like the least likely liked story in this whole batch.
- 28:31Speaker 2: That being said, I think you'll liked the seven Stars
- 28:36Speaker 2: that should not be just because of the idea that
- 28:39Speaker 2: it would be connected in some way to a g
- 28:41Speaker 2: r PG idea kind of thing. So I think that's
- 28:45Speaker 2: something like now. The one you would share I feel
- 28:48Speaker 2: are the birds attacking the drones because it's nature attacking
- 28:52Speaker 2: our artificial garbage.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Fair. Fair, that's good, Stevie. Uh, you can you can
- 29:02Speaker 4: keep one of those, but you have to swap the
- 29:04Speaker 4: other two, or you can go entirely your own way.
- 29:06Speaker 4: What do you want to do?
- 29:09Speaker 1: This is difficult because all you took my block right away,
- 29:11Speaker 1: So I think I'm gonna stick with that, will keep blocking.
- 29:13Speaker 2: The bagels, blocked.
- 29:15Speaker 1: The bagels, and I'm gonna have to unfortunately swap the
- 29:20Speaker 1: other two because I think argue with all of what
- 29:22Speaker 1: I wanted, so I'll actually be liking the birds and
- 29:26Speaker 1: sharing the hole.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Yeah, of course, of course you are right, son, of
- 29:35Speaker 4: a bitch. Well, here's the good news. That is exactly right.
- 29:40Speaker 4: That is what I pay. I assume not the same
- 29:46Speaker 4: reason I blocked the I blocked the South Koreen contraband
- 29:50Speaker 4: everything bagels because I don't like everything bagels, so I
- 29:54Speaker 4: don't give a ship genuinely give me a simmon reason
- 29:58Speaker 4: at any time. But I'm not a fan of all
- 29:59Speaker 4: the weird random ship on top of the bagel. I'm like,
- 30:02Speaker 4: get out of here, you're ruining my bagel. Uh the
- 30:08Speaker 4: the Bayete Sharones. I liked the story, but I did
- 30:11Speaker 4: not share because it feels such like a not my
- 30:15Speaker 4: problem kind of thing. I'm like, I know, it's it's
- 30:18Speaker 4: it's it is cool to see like mother nature being
- 30:20Speaker 4: like fuck you. I appreciate that in all of its
- 30:24Speaker 4: various forms.
- 30:25Speaker 2: It's always incredibly funny to.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Be because we we almost always deserve it. As has said,
- 30:29Speaker 4: we've been fucking with those birds for so long, in
- 30:32Speaker 4: all the various bullshit and awful things that.
- 30:34Speaker 1: We specifically us throwing rocks at them, like going on.
- 30:37Speaker 4: I mean, I mean more specifically rich people with their
- 30:40Speaker 4: boats and doing stupid shit g littering, and god knows
- 30:43Speaker 4: what else.
- 30:44Speaker 2: It's not that we don't do anything for it. It
- 30:46Speaker 2: just I always feel like when they only mention one
- 30:48Speaker 2: thing being like a direct problem or something like that,
- 30:51Speaker 2: like how how much of a hypocrite.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Aren'tes aren't actively threatening them, but they think that they
- 30:57Speaker 4: are because they're flying to them.
- 30:59Speaker 2: It's a fly, not the people enroaching on their actual territory.
- 31:04Speaker 2: It's the drones.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, anyway, so I just like that one. I did
- 31:07Speaker 4: not share it. However, I did share the Seven Stars
- 31:11Speaker 4: turning up a rare black hole because I didn't know
- 31:15Speaker 4: that there was that. Medium sized black holes were so
- 31:19Speaker 4: rare they literally hadn't been found until now.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think we'd.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Only ever found tiny ones.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Or massive recent discovery.
- 31:27Speaker 4: It is a very recent discovery, and it's kind of
- 31:29Speaker 4: it's kind of interesting, and the more I dug into it,
- 31:32Speaker 4: the more I wanted to learn about it. So not
- 31:36Speaker 4: just because I want to do an RPG storyline with
- 31:38Speaker 4: stars appearing where they shouldn't be.
- 31:40Speaker 2: You know, was it it was the web telescope that's
- 31:43Speaker 2: up there now it's been.
- 31:45Speaker 4: The Hubble telescope. Yeah, I don't know, it might be
- 31:49Speaker 4: the James webscope. Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Ever since the web telescope put up there. We've been
- 31:53Speaker 2: just like, whoa go to seeing so much cool ship
- 31:56Speaker 2: out there.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm certain it helped. But like they said, they
- 32:00Speaker 4: scoured the images from the Hubble telescope over the past
- 32:03Speaker 4: twenty years.
- 32:05Speaker 2: There's well and that's what so much data.
- 32:07Speaker 4: That's what told going that these stars shouldn't be there
- 32:09Speaker 4: because they should be traveling so fast as to escape
- 32:12Speaker 4: the gravity of the of the cluster. But something's pulling
- 32:16Speaker 4: them back.
- 32:17Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 32:18Speaker 4: So yeah, anyway, I just thought it was really cool,
- 32:20Speaker 4: so I shared that one, which means Stevie wins this game, yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 4: and gets one episode point, do you know, fred Augie.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Although I know you're not fretting, you're just kind of
- 32:32Speaker 4: waiting to get on with it. We will be playing
- 32:37Speaker 4: game two when we come back from this break right
- 32:40Speaker 4: after this.
- 32:50Speaker 7: Hey you there, We've got a question for you. Are
- 32:53Speaker 7: you tired of clickbait stories and the loudest voices driving
- 32:56Speaker 7: discussions and culture and entertainment.
- 32:58Speaker 4: If so, I'm Dylan, I'm Kendall.
- 33:01Speaker 8: And I'm Corey, and we host the podcast from the Middle.
- 33:05Speaker 4: We're middle class guys living in the middle of America
- 33:08Speaker 4: in the middle chapters of our lives with points of
- 33:10Speaker 4: view Somewhere in the middle.
- 33:12Speaker 8: We take a more reasonable and centrist approach in our discussions,
- 33:15Speaker 8: covering genres like comedy, culture, entertainment, and interviews with really
- 33:21Speaker 8: interesting folks like business owners, comic creators, doctors, news anchors,
- 33:25Speaker 8: New York Times bestselling illustrators, professional stand up comics.
- 33:29Speaker 4: And more.
- 33:31Speaker 8: We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast, one that
- 33:35Speaker 8: we hope is so fun and laid back you'll forget
- 33:38Speaker 8: you're not actually hanging out with us.
- 33:40Speaker 7: So search at from the Midpod just like it sounds,
- 33:44Speaker 7: or check us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 34:02Speaker 4: two is going to be Pitch Me Baby One More Time,
- 34:04Speaker 4: a classic game on our show and with Dimension twenties
- 34:09Speaker 4: Never Stop Blowing Up, featuring video store employees pulled into
- 34:12Speaker 4: an over the top action movie. It's become clear that
- 34:16Speaker 4: entertaining tabletop RPG settings can be practically anything and profitable.
- 34:23Speaker 4: So I want each of you to pitch me a
- 34:25Speaker 4: tabletop role playing setting concept that is both unique and unexpected.
- 34:31Speaker 4: You can use an existing role playing system or make
- 34:33Speaker 4: up your own and you can give me as much
- 34:36Speaker 4: or as little plot as you want. What I'm mostly
- 34:39Speaker 4: interested in here is the concept. Best pitch wins and
- 34:43Speaker 4: earns two episode points. Now, OGGI, you lost the last game,
- 34:46Speaker 4: so you get the choice do you want to go
- 34:48Speaker 4: first or do you want to make CV go first?
- 34:50Speaker 2: I will go first, all right, just to kind of
- 34:52Speaker 2: rip the band aid off, kind of speak fair enough
- 34:55Speaker 2: that Aggy pitched me so I was sick at this game.
- 34:58Speaker 2: It's kind of like a three in one in a way.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's a deck building game and a dice rolling game.
- 35:03Speaker 2: And I'll get to the third part here at a sec.
- 35:05Speaker 2: But basically, you have to build a meal. Essentially, you
- 35:12Speaker 2: start off with like say, a tortilla bowl, and there's
- 35:16Speaker 2: ingredients you add point. These ingredients add points, but they
- 35:19Speaker 2: ass also add negative modifiers too, and when after a
- 35:24Speaker 2: certain amount of terms, every player has to make a roll.
- 35:32Speaker 2: If they succeed the role, they earn the amount of
- 35:34Speaker 2: points to those ingredients they've added to their bowl. But
- 35:38Speaker 2: if they fail from the negative modifiers, they'll get a
- 35:42Speaker 2: negative points, lose points, or gain some, or gain something
- 35:46Speaker 2: negative to them. The third part of this game is
- 35:52Speaker 2: that because it's a deck building game, and you can
- 35:54Speaker 2: get different ingredients to swatch it out. The cards themselves
- 35:57Speaker 2: are actually scratching sniffs, so you can actually spell the
- 35:59Speaker 2: ingredient to cool, and the whole game it'll be called
- 36:04Speaker 2: uh Chipotle the game because if you fail your roll,
- 36:12Speaker 2: you lose points because you literally shit yourself. So the
- 36:17Speaker 2: concept to kind of kind of reiterate, it's basically a
- 36:20Speaker 2: deck building game where you build your own ingredients into
- 36:22Speaker 2: a tilla bowl that gives you plus points negative. Then
- 36:25Speaker 2: at the end of the round you roll the dice.
- 36:26Speaker 2: If you fail, you shit yourself and you lose those points,
- 36:29Speaker 2: and it's all scratch and sniff in the car that
- 36:32Speaker 2: tells her you shit.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Yourself just smells like newborn pooh.
- 36:42Speaker 4: How does the deck building part work into it? Like,
- 36:46Speaker 4: can you play cards to earn more or better ingredients?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so certain ingredients, like certain quality ingredients are like
- 36:53Speaker 2: worth plus points, So like white rice says like plus one,
- 36:56Speaker 2: but like brown rice is like plus two or something
- 36:58Speaker 2: like that. But like then you've got things like if
- 37:01Speaker 2: you add like certain hot sauce. Hot sauces like you
- 37:04Speaker 2: can have like Ted's rot hot sauce gives you like
- 37:07Speaker 2: plus one points, but like minus two to your role,
- 37:11Speaker 2: but to.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Your ship yourself.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Roll yourself roll.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But then if you do something like saracha that has
- 37:16Speaker 2: like mayo in it, then it'll like give you like
- 37:18Speaker 2: plus two, but we all get a plus minus three
- 37:21Speaker 2: to shit in yourself.
- 37:22Speaker 4: You know, Wow, you've put a fair amount of thought
- 37:26Speaker 4: into this against Yes, it's awesome. I like it quite
- 37:30Speaker 4: a bit.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I do.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I like that a lot. It's fucking great.
- 37:33Speaker 2: As you can tell. I don't go to Chipotle anymore
- 37:36Speaker 2: because I always lose that fucking game.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Kept rolling that one number one number.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Once won that game.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Of course, there's always like a base difficulty modifier like
- 37:46Speaker 2: let's say, like for example, like fifteen or whatever, and
- 37:49Speaker 2: but there's negatives that like reduce it so you or
- 37:52Speaker 2: increase it or whatever so you have to roll higher
- 37:55Speaker 2: or something like to succeed the role. It's kind of
- 37:58Speaker 2: like a constitution check, like it's up at Chipotle, so
- 38:01Speaker 2: you never win.
- 38:04Speaker 4: That is wild and I absolutely love it. Can't wait
- 38:08Speaker 4: to play that game. It feels less like a tabletop
- 38:11Speaker 4: role playing game than just a tabletop game, just like
- 38:14Speaker 4: a board game.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I mean, if you want to do like our tabletop
- 38:17Speaker 2: role playing game. You could play role play as the
- 38:19Speaker 2: employees that work there.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Ah, and you have to deal with and like you
- 38:25Speaker 4: have like the the role is not for you to
- 38:27Speaker 4: ship yourself with the customer.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so the encounters your role is you having
- 38:32Speaker 2: to go into the men's bathroom and clean up.
- 38:37Speaker 1: This game is getting better and better as he keeps talking.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Okay, okay, yeah, I want to back this. This genuinely
- 38:44Speaker 4: sounds fun.
- 38:47Speaker 1: All right, well done, that sounds amazing, Stevie.
- 38:51Speaker 4: You got to top that at your return to your best.
- 38:55Speaker 4: It's time to pitch.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Me, gentlemen. I've come with a new tabletop role playing game,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and it's called techs Abound. Each player creates their own
- 39:04Speaker 1: technician or chooses a premat one tax and those kind
- 39:09Speaker 1: of text.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 1: They are tasked with it printer HVAC electrical tickets and
- 39:14Speaker 1: have to resolve them one roll by the roll of
- 39:16Speaker 1: the dice. So you use the status as you would normally,
- 39:20Speaker 1: based on what you would need, like, uh, you need
- 39:23Speaker 1: good charisma for customer service interactions. You don't know how
- 39:26Speaker 1: to fix that blinking red light. We'll roll your charisma
- 39:29Speaker 1: and talk your way out of it by telling your customer.
- 39:31Speaker 1: That's normal operation. So you can actually get around somebody
- 39:35Speaker 1: some things instead of actually fixing some of their problems
- 39:37Speaker 1: and shit, you can get upgraded tools, new vehicles, even
- 39:41Speaker 1: new technologies and stuff that could like make your job easier.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Then your whole tech group that you have, like your
- 39:48Speaker 1: your different texts you have working together, can take on
- 39:51Speaker 1: your office service manager and epic bantles of who is
- 39:54Speaker 1: actually right and who's just an asshole manager? Like I
- 39:58Speaker 1: think that was going to bring a lot of stuff
- 40:00Speaker 1: the light and would bring a lot of fun, like
- 40:03Speaker 1: especially like people who have that background as you and
- 40:06Speaker 1: I do as a technician and shit, and you be like, oh,
- 40:09Speaker 1: now we get the fuck with these people? And I mean, yeah,
- 40:12Speaker 1: that can resolve the issue. The issue will get resolved,
- 40:14Speaker 1: but in your way, not the company's way. So that's
- 40:19Speaker 1: me man, I say, we do Like you could be anything.
- 40:23Speaker 1: You'd be like current. It could be futuristic, say you
- 40:25Speaker 1: need to fix the space shuttles transportation system, Like you
- 40:29Speaker 1: could go anywhere with this. Wow hell yeah.
- 40:34Speaker 2: So like for example, you'd be like Aaron. You get
- 40:36Speaker 2: a phone call from a client they're having issues with
- 40:39Speaker 2: their computer, make a persuasion roll to convince them to
- 40:42Speaker 2: turn it off and back out. If you fail, you
- 40:45Speaker 2: have to go and do it for them.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And now it's like, all right, assemble the team. What
- 40:49Speaker 1: should we bring with us? Because you can only carry
- 40:51Speaker 1: so much weight on your character anyway until you get
- 40:53Speaker 1: those vehicle upgrades later on and shit service truck.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Okay, dude, I see what you're doing here, and I
- 41:02Speaker 4: like it, but I mean I have to go with
- 41:09Speaker 4: honestly good yours. Yours just sounds like what I do
- 41:13Speaker 4: in my real life, and it's.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I was thinking that might have been a drawback.
- 41:18Speaker 4: It is a drawback. It's like, do I want to
- 41:20Speaker 4: do this for fun as well? No?
- 41:22Speaker 1: No, he's more of us around a tablehill and the game.
- 41:27Speaker 4: Yeah, no, thank you.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I was playing Stardo all the time, so I figured
- 41:30Speaker 1: it's almost the same thing as that. It's like if
- 41:32Speaker 1: you're a farmer all day.
- 41:33Speaker 4: And except we're not farmers all day.
- 41:36Speaker 1: We're not, but I know a farmer who plays that
- 41:40Speaker 1: all the time too.
- 41:42Speaker 4: It's just no, like I come home, I don't want to.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Do Yeah, this might be a detriment, but fuck it,
- 41:51Speaker 1: it's a good idea. Aaron just won't like it.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Whereas the Chipotle thing, like if you just left it there.
- 41:57Speaker 4: But when you suggested that we could do it as
- 41:59Speaker 4: running aroun strut as the employees try to avoid making
- 42:03Speaker 4: the customers ship themselves, I'm like, you know, some of
- 42:07Speaker 4: us would be deliberately making those customers.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, did you microwave that meet for the full thirty seconds?
- 42:12Speaker 1: Snow fifteen, bitch?
- 42:14Speaker 2: And remember it's scratch and sniffs.
- 42:18Speaker 4: That part was kind of a detriment. I could live
- 42:21Speaker 4: without this.
- 42:22Speaker 1: No, it's requirement, but I do.
- 42:25Speaker 4: I do really like the idea of working like a
- 42:28Speaker 4: deck building game into tabletop. I would really enjoy that experience.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I think, hell yeah, there there are some games that
- 42:34Speaker 4: have kind of done the deck building slash tabletop thing,
- 42:37Speaker 4: like gloom Haven has instead of a D twenty, you
- 42:39Speaker 4: get a deck cards, but you can make that decor
- 42:42Speaker 4: cards better, so it's effectively better. It's effectively making a
- 42:46Speaker 4: D twenty bit like replacing one of the.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Or you can move a chart or something.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Yeah, like replacing the nineteen with another twenty, like you know,
- 42:54Speaker 4: imagine stuff like that. Yeah, so it was it was
- 42:57Speaker 4: very cool. U and I enjoy the idea have like
- 43:00Speaker 4: an actual role playing game with that tech building belt in.
- 43:03Speaker 4: So yeah, point easily goes to Oggy has two points
- 43:10Speaker 4: to Stevie's one, So we are going to get a
- 43:12Speaker 4: definitive winner, and shit, you're going to decide who that
- 43:15Speaker 4: definitive winner is when we play game three. It's worth
- 43:18Speaker 4: three episode points and we will play that game right
- 43:22Speaker 4: after this.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Hey, this is Grabbing Brisket podcast.

- 44:12Speaker 4: up no, no, sorry, okay, bye, Well that sucks.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, right, nobody likes every week we tell them they
- 44:20Speaker 1: can and never do. Oh no, we got a bunch
- 44:23Speaker 1: of comments. Actually, okay, and we did get a voicemail,
- 44:25Speaker 1: so we can go through the comments.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Let's see that. Yeah.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Yeah, so the first comment is on the video version
- 44:30Speaker 1: of show two twenty four The New Times Roman Times Romans.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Oh that was the improv episode with Casey and Casey
- 44:36Speaker 4: and Kyl.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Yes, that was freaking hilarious.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a good time.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Kristen f She messaged her, there are some great GF.
- 44:46Speaker 1: There are some great GF donuts.
- 44:49Speaker 2: GF donuts you can order on the Cats.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Cats, you can order online and they are pretty.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Good, good fucking donuts.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Is that what she meant to say? I didn't know.
- 44:59Speaker 4: I was like like, I'm not used to GF meaning
- 45:02Speaker 4: good fucking It's not you.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I don't know, godfather, godfather, I don't.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Know what you can tell. But I don't get a
- 45:09Speaker 4: lot of GF. All right, there ain't a lot of
- 45:12Speaker 4: GF going on here, all right, there's a lot of GM.
- 45:16Speaker 4: There's some, there's some there's some GM. I got tons
- 45:18Speaker 4: of GM.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Sometimes it means a person's girlfriend.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Well, yes, I know, GF can stand for girlfriend, but
- 45:25Speaker 4: girlfriend donuts does not make sense in this content.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna get myself a girlfriend donut. I needn't go
- 45:31Speaker 1: to Timmy's. Why don't worry about it, I sprinkle.
- 45:36Speaker 4: I just figured out what you do with the whole.
- 45:40Speaker 1: It's the little bits that are worried about. That's why
- 45:43Speaker 1: he can't right. The next comment from the Rules of
- 45:55Speaker 1: the Game I did a TikTok and the Rules of
- 45:57Speaker 1: the Game. The horns are ass from the episode Chords
- 46:03Speaker 1: or ass.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah me.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Times New Roman.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Yeah Cases comment literally reads Augie Colon Times New Roman.
- 46:18Speaker 4: You were so you were so gobet by that game.
- 46:23Speaker 4: I couldn't figure the idea of playing a font just
- 46:27Speaker 4: broke your brain.
- 46:30Speaker 2: It was like if there was a context there, but whatever,
- 46:33Speaker 2: it was funny it was.
- 46:35Speaker 1: It was freaking hilarious love I enjoyed out of it. God,
- 46:40Speaker 1: I never would have thought that that concept either, Like
- 46:43Speaker 1: the freaking go by like a font. I'm like what,
- 46:46Speaker 1: I'm like, Oh, I get it. I'm like that like.
- 46:49Speaker 4: May have personality?
- 46:51Speaker 1: They do? They really do. I never used them out.
- 46:57Speaker 1: The next comment is from Oh Geez, another two talk
- 47:00Speaker 1: I made of the Rules of the Game. The taco bell.
- 47:05Speaker 1: We had our buddy CJ. D J's anthis on yep, yep,
- 47:09Speaker 1: and Kristan Farley. She wrote on there, I rescind my bell. Well, shit,
- 47:18Speaker 1: no bell, no bell for you.
- 47:20Speaker 4: I still don't know what that's in referring to I'm
- 47:23Speaker 4: just confused by all these comments today. That's what's wrong.
- 47:26Speaker 2: With They're so fun out of context.
- 47:28Speaker 4: I mean, they're fun out of contact.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Everybody's gotta go to TikTok now and watch them.
- 47:32Speaker 4: I am scared to see what Stevie's gonna do with
- 47:34Speaker 4: a girlfriend tacos girlfriend donut. Sorry, that's even worse.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Do you want to know what I'll do? No?
- 47:45Speaker 2: Like a deck building game?
- 47:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean unless I can watch.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Okay, this next one comes from show to twenty one.
- 47:55Speaker 1: I'll gie the one hander. I haven't read an yet
- 48:05Speaker 1: until now. Oh Man, Colin Meggs, I haven't. Yeah, God, Colin.
- 48:10Speaker 1: He wrote perfect example of why chill shows could be
- 48:14Speaker 1: some of the funniest, most entertaining content. I laughed so
- 48:18Speaker 1: much at this episode it hurt. Yeah, this was fucking great, man.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Like that was? That was a wild chill show to
- 48:27Speaker 4: be fair, That's the one where you had the video. Yeah,
- 48:31Speaker 4: the water changing video.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Oh god, Kristen said, love hearing about what's going on
- 48:37Speaker 2: in your guys' lives. Congrats on completion of your first draft.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Erin patiently looking forward to it.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Thank you, quote unquote patiently.
- 48:47Speaker 2: The water change video was entertaining and informative. Cool to
- 48:51Speaker 2: see you in your habitat and Steve Stevie, hope you
- 48:54Speaker 2: get to enjoy summer vacation and work on stuff.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Yay, And I have. I've been playing over your video
- 49:01Speaker 1: games and actually been sleeping in a lot. It's been nice.
- 49:05Speaker 4: Hell yeah, very cool, right right, and yes, I am
- 49:09Speaker 4: excited to share anything about the first draft of You.
- 49:13Speaker 4: So far, all of the feedback I've gotten from my
- 49:15Speaker 4: Beata readers has been wildly positive, so I'm feeling pretty
- 49:19Speaker 4: good about that. I'm excited to share it with people, genuinely. Hell.
- 49:23Speaker 4: And they've come back with a lot of good ideas
- 49:24Speaker 4: that I know are going to improve the book, and
- 49:26Speaker 4: I've been implementing them. So the second draft is not
- 49:28Speaker 4: far away.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Oh nicely, that's awesome.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it's going it's going really great. I'm very happy
- 49:34Speaker 4: with it. Yeah, all right, on.
- 49:36Speaker 2: To the next Foxed Again.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Out of Fox again. I seem to recall this, this,
- 49:44Speaker 4: this monologue I had, Yes, Aaron had a little genuinely
- 49:49Speaker 4: genuinely I.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Like the tags fuck gift Aaron.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Because it goes alphabetical.
- 50:03Speaker 4: That's great.
- 50:04Speaker 1: That's how I tag. Think.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Had a couple of comments, Oh.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Yes for the Fox, the gifts tiktoks. Behold the field
- 50:10Speaker 1: of fox, That, sir, is amazing.
- 50:15Speaker 2: This is where I sow my fox.
- 50:20Speaker 4: I reap fox.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Here, fuckless, Aaron, I'm a.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Third generation and fuckless farmer.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Third fuck removed, third removed. Oh god, it was so good.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah that that that was a fucking It started like
- 50:41Speaker 1: it seemed like it was such a downer episode and
- 50:43Speaker 1: it ended up supposed to be.
- 50:46Speaker 2: And we got ourselves going and it just never stopped.
- 50:48Speaker 4: It was so Yeah, it's hard to stop us once
- 50:51Speaker 4: we get rolling. Oh fuck.
- 50:52Speaker 1: And our last comment comes from show two twenty with
- 50:55Speaker 1: z Is Eternal and Magnus cock Thunder, when it's all
- 50:58Speaker 1: about pooh so.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Sorry. William. William's comment says you pastwards, I've had the
- 51:09Speaker 4: gummy birth teme stuck in my head all day, here
- 51:14Speaker 4: and there and everywhere. Suck it. Colin Mags also commented
- 51:22Speaker 4: PMSL the Pousium and Aggie, you legend again the n
- 51:28Speaker 4: one place for ND two genius. I wonder, though, does
- 51:35Speaker 4: the Puusium have toilets or does it say future exhibits.
- 51:40Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's fucking funny.
- 51:46Speaker 1: That's smart.
- 51:49Speaker 4: If I were running the Pussium, I would immediately rename
- 51:51Speaker 4: my restroom's future the number one place. Genius, absolute genius.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Like you do you automatically like wave your right to
- 52:01Speaker 1: your poo once you hit the flush, like it's theirs
- 52:03Speaker 1: now and they can do whatever they want with it.
- 52:05Speaker 4: I think so, I mean you, I mean it would
- 52:09Speaker 4: be absurd to want to hang on to it.
- 52:12Speaker 1: I want to think somebody's who are like, no, I'm
- 52:15Speaker 1: on a percentage of fucking entrance fees or some ship.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Because my poo's on display us, how do you know
- 52:20Speaker 1: it's yours?
- 52:23Speaker 2: Do you guys think?
- 52:27Speaker 4: This is the question I was not prepared to tackle today,
- 52:29Speaker 4: But I believe it goes to like whoever runs the
- 52:33Speaker 4: like the sanitation department or whatever. Oh, so it's technically
- 52:37Speaker 4: their property and what they do with that. I have
- 52:39Speaker 4: no idea and don't care to know, but I assume
- 52:41Speaker 4: they try and use it to recycle some stuff or
- 52:44Speaker 4: what have you, or turned fertilizer. I don't know what.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Do you think there's such thing as text to Jermy.
- 52:48Speaker 4: For pooh, no, Jimmy, move on.
- 52:54Speaker 1: No, yes we can. That was the last comment. But
- 52:58Speaker 1: we have a smell.
- 53:05Speaker 4: Let's hear it.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Let's find out some.
- 53:09Speaker 10: Hi guys. Kristin here calling in because according to TikTok,
- 53:13Speaker 10: I saw you weren't feeling enough love for your listeners
- 53:16Speaker 10: and needed some calls as such. I just wanted to
- 53:19Speaker 10: call on and let you guys know that the f
- 53:22Speaker 10: y t W is one of the highlights of my
- 53:24Speaker 10: week and I enjoy seeing what you guys come up with.
- 53:27Speaker 10: I absolutely loved the pole position game and I really
- 53:30Speaker 10: hope we get more of that soon. Anyhow, just wanted
- 53:32Speaker 10: to send you all my love and I hope you
- 53:34Speaker 10: have a great week.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love you so much.
- 53:38Speaker 4: Thank you, Kristin. Yeah, we can do pole position anytime.
- 53:46Speaker 4: I just need to whip up the questions, that's all.
- 53:49Speaker 4: But it doesn't take long and it doesn't require any
- 53:51Speaker 4: you know, this doesn't require a ton of work. This
- 53:54Speaker 4: might be my like most efficient game show concept ever
- 53:59Speaker 4: because it requires so little work to do, but it
- 54:02Speaker 4: provides so much entertainment. Like it's I genuinely enjoy the
- 54:05Speaker 4: shout out of doing that show. So you will see
- 54:07Speaker 4: it again one thousand percent, I guarantee. But yeah, let's
- 54:12Speaker 4: let's let's get back to the games. Thanks for listening
- 54:14Speaker 4: to our nonsense. And if you want to leave a
- 54:16Speaker 4: voicemail yourself, just wait for the instructions at the end
- 54:19Speaker 4: of the show. But for now, let's get back to
- 54:21Speaker 4: the games.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Well, finish this up.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Let's do uh, let's do game three.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Game three in five four three.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Hey man, welcome back to game three. It's gonna be
- 54:44Speaker 4: the cost is correct, my favorite bidding game. I've got
- 54:48Speaker 4: three end of my line, I got three items. Well
- 54:51Speaker 4: you never know, Stevie's historically been very good at this game.
- 54:53Speaker 4: But you can still win this one. You might even
- 54:55Speaker 4: have an edge because I've got three items to bid
- 54:57Speaker 4: on here. And to keep it in the theme of
- 55:00Speaker 4: the rest of the show. Uh, these are all dungeons
- 55:02Speaker 4: and Dragons related items. We had a theme we sort
- 55:06Speaker 4: of did. Oh fuck, we sort of did. I mean
- 55:10Speaker 4: started us off with the dungeons character. Our second game
- 55:13Speaker 4: was about a tabletop so Our third game is going
- 55:16Speaker 4: to be about items that sold for. You know, I'm
- 55:19Speaker 4: not going to tell you what this sold for. That's
- 55:21Speaker 4: the whole point in the game. That are related to dungeons,
- 55:26Speaker 4: dungeons and dragons. So the one of you gets close
- 55:29Speaker 4: to the actual final selling price the item on Viva
- 55:31Speaker 4: without going over wins again. Because there's the two of you,
- 55:34Speaker 4: we're going to do the final bids rules. You'll just
- 55:36Speaker 4: keep bidding and bidding until you get close enough for
- 55:39Speaker 4: me to call final bids, or until one of you
- 55:41Speaker 4: goes over. So just be careful of that. First player
- 55:45Speaker 4: to win two listings will win the game and earn
- 55:48Speaker 4: themselves three episode points and win the entire episode.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Six thousand dollars.
- 55:53Speaker 4: That was very quick, Oggy win.
- 56:00Speaker 1: That was fast. That was faster than last time.
- 56:01Speaker 4: So I didn't even put up an item, all right, ready, yes, sir,
- 56:05Speaker 4: Our first item I forbids is this lovely vintage magazine collection,
- 56:11Speaker 4: The Dragon, numbers one through sixteen from nineteen seventy six
- 56:16Speaker 4: by TSR. Professionally graded issues ranged from four point zero
- 56:22Speaker 4: to nine point zero in quality. Also includes two issues
- 56:26Speaker 4: of The Strategic Review from nineteen seventy five and this
- 56:30Speaker 4: listing can be yours. If the cost is correct, bidding
- 56:35Speaker 4: will be in dollars. But I'm not giving you a
- 56:37Speaker 4: starting bid this time. In fact, for any of these items,
- 56:40Speaker 4: I'm not going to be a starting bit. That's fair
- 56:41Speaker 4: because I've noticed that sometimes hints to the players whereabouts

- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Maybe it's not thinking of but I mean, wait, I
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: pulled these from recent auctions unless there's like a historic
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: auction somewhere, like you know, like we did one for
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: the fucking pie, the pie that sold for an absurd
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: amount of money. Yes, like that was in the news
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: and ship. But I mean these are all I'm just

- 1:05:31Speaker 4: And checking to see what and so these are all recent,
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: relatively recent, because I don't know how long eBay holds
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: on to sold ones. But I checked the date. I
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: checked the date on this one. This was July. This
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: was this month. Wow, this was like weeks weeks ago.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: That's awesome.

- 1:05:55Speaker 4: I was expecting you to go eighty one seventy it
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: just stuff stuff.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Oh, I was thinking like eight twenty, just to be funny.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: But yeah, the same thing. I was like, I'll do
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: the one sixty nine because it's close.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I just thought I genuinely didn't know if you
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: were crazy enough to go for it. And I was like,
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: all right, they're within like seven hundred dollars. I'm going
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: to shut it here. Oh yeah, well done, Absolutely well done.
