- Nate: Tonight on the North American Friends Movie Club. A timid banker. A magical mask. And a lively affair at the Coco Bongo. We watched the 1994 American superhero slapstick comedy film, The Mask. DOOOO! Slip on your yellowest fedora. And bite down on your giant dentures. Because we're the the masks of podcasting. And this is the sound we make when we see a beautiful episode. Yep. Correct? I don't know. I can't shake her head. No, not correct. That's how you do it. No. I'm not the cartooner, horny ⁓ wolf. This is what it sounds like when we do a podcast. We're currently doing one. This is the North American Friends Movie Club, and you might notice something about the name of our show. And that's Friends Comes Before Podcast because it's simply more important to us. So I gotta ask my two green swing dancing friends. How are we doing? How are we doing, guys? I'm tired. I'm excellent. I'm so sleepy. Well, it's a ⁓ it's a Monday. It's a Monday. It's a Monday. To me, it doesn't really matter at what day it is. Like I don't have Mondays anymore. You know what I mean? Or maybe every day is Monday for you, Brent. No. What day of the week would you say that every day is? It's a good question, Nate. Thursday. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It's like I like that. Because Friday that's you'd be that's as good as a human can do. If every day is Friday, like Thursday's almost there. A wise person once told me that Thursday is better because it's the anticipation of what could be. What could be? Why do things make me sing? I don't know. Just because you have a song in your heart, Kate? I do. You have a little bird in your heart and it's singing the song all the time. I love it. And then when you're around the right people were the keys to that lock that unlocks the bird. The birds in a cage. Usually the birds in a cage. Yeah. It's in her heart this time. The cages are hers. I let her fly. You only let her fly when you're around the right people. Well, I'm I also do it when I'm alone. Because I have the own my own key. Yeah, you are your own. You have your own key. You're the lost one. I like how you said that though. You said it like it was a the cousin of a donkey. You're like, my unkey? My unkey. The cousin of a donkey. My unkey? ⁓ but do you guys want to know what's been happening? I've been dying on this Thursday, Monday to ask you what's happening. Yeah, I'd love to know. ⁓ I went to the lake and my goal was to lay out on my stomach and burn my backside. In the not not in the like things are dangerous and I can't exist happily. ⁓ but I succeeded and I did burn my Backside. And here's the thing about your backside. ⁓ you use it. It touches a lot of things. It does. Yeah. And ⁓ so you really remember that. It gives you an opportunity to really appreciate how much your backside is touching things when you burn it. So I burnt my backside really bad one day ⁓ when I was younger in my early twenties. And I had to go It was on the weekend and had to go Monday and like wear a lab coat. ⁓ Because we're in a touch. My back. A lab coat is like even if you start laughing, it's gonna shrug your shoulders. That's gonna lift the coat. It's gonna start rubbing your butt. I'm like David Byrne in that dancing thing. so I just think we all need to remember that spiders are good. And out of all of the spiders in the world, there are only like two bad spiders. And so I think we need to lay off spiders. Where did this come from? I've been seeing a lot of anti-spider propaganda. ⁓ okay. I've been hearing a lot of anti-spider propaganda. I got hit with some ⁓ wasp propaganda and bee propaganda that's told me there's only like two bad or one bad wasp and one bad bee. Out of all the types. I believe that I don't have time though to figure out which I'm not an an entomologist. Is that what buggy people are? Do you guys have the big fluffy ones? The big fluffy bees are like big lumbering bears of the sky. Like they bear they don't really sting and they're just kinda like They bumble around. They bumble. Is that what they call it that? Yeah, the bumble around. ⁓ that's adorable. It is. It's really It's really good. ⁓ I'm gonna fall asleep in a flower. Yep. okay. And then the last thing I have is ⁓ Nick and I will be together. We'll have our ⁓ we'll been together ten years this New Year's Eve. I know. And eventually we do want to get married. And this weekend we were talking about how we would take our vows more seriously this time than we take it all in the first time. Yeah. And so he has agreed. with me that included in our vows is his vow to me and mine to him that we promised to die together on Kate's 100th birthday in 2082. So we both great vow. The vow because I would I want to die on my hundredth birthday with my whole family surrounding me. And I want to be h next to Nick, like holding his hand. And he has promised to try his best. To fulfill that for me. To die at the same time? On my hundredth birthday, yes. You guys should just do cyanide pills. Tuck it in behind the lip. Chomp down when it's time to go. Both these go together. That's not this is this would be a demonstration of how much we're in love. Yeah. You're you're underestimating the power of love that can act that could go on the hundredth birthday. That's the mistake you're making. So one of you guys would have to die first and then the other would dies of a broken heart. Exactly the same second. No, he That's how love does it. He li he ⁓ I see what you're saying. Cause he's older than me, so he'll be 101. Yeah, he's gotta stick around. I'll be 99. I'll be 99. I'll be minus 40. Well, if you want to stay alive to witness our deaths. ⁓ god. No, I do not want to see your 100 death. No. I'm good. Well, I don't want to see 99. I don't. I'm I'll I'm not do I won't do good with being old. And not doing what mo I normally doing a hard you're having a hard time with middle age. Yeah. Yeah. And this is for me not middle age. This is ⁓ a halfway down the hill. What's that mean? He's not over the hill, he's halfway down. He's already over the hill and then he's halfway down. My God. Yeah. When I worked on the train at Fort Eventon, it was just me and all 80 plus year old men, every single one of them. Mm-hmm. And more than one of them gave me the excellent advice of never get old. They said, you know what? Never get old. And it's kind of funny advice because there's nothing you can do. Like, what the fuck am I what kind of advice is that, sir? Okay. We've always been getting old since the day we were born. It's nothing there's nothing I can do about that. No, there's there's plenty you can do about I I as a I lived in I did profession. In healthcare for 20 years, that was just always old people. And they always said, never get old. And they said the biggest lie in the world is when they call them golden years. I'm like, Yeah, not me. Okay. You guys have been around a lot of negative people. Yep. Yeah. Also, I think aging is difficult. I think aging is difficult. And I think you are even more of the person you are when you're younger, when you're old. You become more yourself. And so I think there's a lot of people That are fucking pissed about being alive anyway. Like they became more themselves. And I like myself. So actually, I get to be more of this. Okay. Alright. Right? Because it's like you hone down. I think of myself as a knife. And as I age, okay, blade. I get I ⁓ w it I get ⁓ I I am hewn. With yeah, you hone the edge. Yeah. You're actually just made up of a lot of a lot of teeth, and the honing blade just straightens those teeth. Yeah, okay. I don't know what that. Okay, okay. Yeah, remember we had Microscopic teeth. Yeah. Blades are actually teeth. I like to think of it though the as if it's just an edge. Like the top of a mountain. Like one you know? Sharp, craggly mountains are newer than the other mountains. I told you that, Brent. Did you? Yes. I think you did. Like like two weeks ago. On the cave episode. I have so many sources of becoming smarter and new information coming in. Look at you. They all blur together now. Physically. Because my hat. I have my hat up a little bit. You had to bump it into one of the different You had to loosen it like a belt. Using a s using a small solder iron to put on another nub so I could fit more space into it. No, I'm yeah, so yeah, you're right. ⁓ yeah, you're right about the male. Nick has a friend named Buckethead, and we'll c start calling you something like that. I actually have a very small head. We measured heads in we'll call you normal head now. Okay. We measured heads in the lab one day, and a girl that I work with, ⁓ she had the biggest head. And she did not like it. 'Cause she never thought of herself as a big head person. No. And she knows she changed the trajectory of her life probably. It it really bothered her because she's she was ⁓ she's very, you know, she's very ladylike. She's very Did she have a little neck? Little dainty neck in the middle leg? Well, she you could never s you would never think she had a big head. And she's very attractive young lady, very funny. ⁓ But she's just swollen. She just got a big ⁓ fuck. She just got a big old head on her. And she kind of h started panicking because she knew I was gonna run with it. Like when she first started. You're not safe. You're not safe. When you I I I used to do this game where whenever you start, I take your first initial and give and call you different items after that letter. So I called her diaper for like a while. That's tough. That's cheap. Yeah, you bullied her. I would too. You bullied her, Brent. I also called one ⁓ lady Crab Trap because her water bottle looked like a crab trap. And then Melissa hired her. She became she went back to school and became a nurse. And Melissa hired her and she looked at Melissa and said, Your husband used to call me Crabtrap. Ab abusing your power. Yeah. I you're spe you're talking about it so innocently. It's like hearing the Nazi talking about Nuremberg or something. Keeping it light. Just keeping it light at work. That's all. And that's what happened. And that that's what happened. That's what happened. ⁓ it's my turn. ⁓ we had wrestling this weekend. ⁓ give us what you ate. Yeah, great show. I had two pieces of pizza. The best pizza in the world, by the way. This place I used to make fun of it growing up because they're a different town and they always said they have the best pizza. Legit the best pizza you'll ever have. Two pieces. ⁓ of pizza. I had three beer. I had a can of Dr. Pepper and I had some candies. I had a Mirage Bar. What's candies and what's a Mirage Bar? Candies were like we we sell buckets of candy for six bucks and just a bunch of mixed candies, like gummies. Sour gummies, normal gums. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ so I had some of those. ⁓ I had a mirage bar. Mirage Bar is just a chocolate bar with like an airy chocolate, I would say. Yeah, it's kind of like an aerobar-ish in that neighborhood. Is it crispy on the inside? No, it's just chocolate. It's good chocolate and bubbles of air. Chocolate bubbles. Chocolate and bubbles. Yeah. Love it. ⁓ then I had a bag of nacho cheese Doritos. Okay. I had two Zonic placed in my mouth. What's that? Just like zins, two zins. Ew. I had two of those. and I I that's not food. No, I'm glad it was included in the menu. Yeah, I was just glad it was a glass of It led to me becoming sick that night. I was I had to take a gravole that night to sleep. A what? Gravole. Like a seasickness medication. You guys don't have Gravol? I don't know. No. I don't know. No. Well, I I took a gravole. ⁓ here's the thing. Kate is so born for the water that she wouldn't even know if they have gravols. Seasickness? What's this you speak of? Sorry, I get land sickness and I gotta get back on the water. Exactly. I get land sickness. ⁓ her inner ears are like scientists wanna study them. Why didn't you refuse? Had you drank too many? Do you have an alcohol problem? You drank too many beers and you couldn't say no to the nicotine. No, ⁓ three beers and not too many beers. I know, that's why I said that. and I always I'll always pack a Zonic when I'm out and about. Why is it called Zonic? That seems like it's geared towards children. Zonic? Because they wanna like take they wanna be close to Zinn. Brand recognition. But they can't name it Zin. So then you s and so then you call it Finn or Pin or Bin or make sounds like Sonic the hedgehog. ⁓ I never thought of that, Kate. Let me pop a fin. You're just saying that because I live in an island. That's that's discrimination and a possible racism. Maybe possible. Possible. Attempted. Yeah. Attempted racism. ⁓ I so I I had a stomach ache on Saturday night. I went to bed with a stomach ache, took a gravole, and that knocked me right out and I woke up with no stomach ache at all. So I don't know. I think the the mirage bar fucked me over. Do you think that out of that list that was the big one? Well, when you break it down, it wasn't that much. You've ate more. I feel like you have eaten more in the past. That was a pretty good That was pretty good. That was a good The list kept going. It was like the list. I was like, ⁓ candies too. ⁓ pieces of pizza, a bag of chips, at least three candy things of can like three? Five. At least thirty. Even worse. For sure. Okay. And three beers. Well, you guys are making me know it's like I have a little baby tummy. Like I needed just warm milk to go to bed. I don't have a baby tummy. I've I packed that shit in. What are I was kind of saying it. Three pieces of candy. No, I'd sick off that. No, no. I would never. I would, I respect that you eat a lot and that you would really like No, you guys wanted to plant the seed to our listeners that I ⁓ I got fussy that night. I was fussy Saturday night and I had to go to sleep. That's not what happened. No, don't even bring up colloc cradle cap. No old graduate. That was whooping golf. That was different. Mm-hmm. ⁓ yeah, I jammed a lot into my gulla and I I deserved to be sick. I wasn't fussy. I didn't have a little baby tummy. I think it was the nicotine. That did it. ⁓ I have a pizza question. Pizza question? Yeah, I have a pizza question. ⁓ to the right place. You said that this there's a place in this other town that's they're like always bragging about being the best pizza. Yeah. But the wrestling doesn't take place at a pizza park. No. So how in in what sis in what way did you get to the pizza? They're one of our sponsors. So we order pizza from them at a discounted rate. We take the pizzas and then we break them up and sell them five dollars a slice. Hmm. And they they're like piranhas. They surround the thing and they you can't keep the pizza in the building. How many pies did you buy? Eighteen. Eighteen pies. I can see why they give you a discounted rate. Let's do some math right here. I'm pulling up my calatory. Ninety. Ninety slices is why you're trying to 18 pizzas times times eight. Sorry. It's not ninety. Times five. Okay. Seven hundred and twenty dollars. Made seven hundred and twenty dollars off of pizza. Banging. They they like to eat over Did you pocket, Brent? What are you skimming? What are you skimming? I do eat a lot of food. I accused my father of stealing ten dollars and I told everybody and I made I I made a big deal. You're a terrible bully. Bullying your father. Not a bully. He tried to qu he questioned my math. He handed me something and I he then what I he was selling masks, wrestling, luche libre masks, and he gave me the money. I just saw an eight light up there. And ⁓ I did get pretty excited. And then ⁓ I don't know, he said, ⁓ you're you're dumb, you messed up that math. I No, you stole ten dollars and I told everybody my father stole ten dollars. Did w was he right or were you right? We were both right. Okay, so he was right. There was miscommunication, I think. Okay. Anyway, ⁓ still I'll go to the grave saying that he stole ten dollars from his family. ⁓ and then what else happened? ⁓ I have more food related issues. I'm over it, folks. That's it. I I officially threw in the towel. I'm done. I put a fork in it. I'm done trying all these new fancy flavors of things. You've you've hit your flavor limit? Yeah. They all suck. ⁓ I bought an a double adobo crispers the other day and they were trash. What are double adob crispers meaning potato chips? They are sp they're a special kind of chip. They're a special Canadian chip. Yeah, they're like a baked cracker. Double adobo. Adobo being a flavor. Yeah, but this was doubled up. Double adobo. That's so dumb. Yeah, that's what must have told me. And I said, no, these are gonna be delicious. And I bought them in their trash. And I ate them and I was mad how I was eating. It was like I was mad. And then I tried hot honey pizza potato chips. No. It it tastes a little bit like you know how about four to five minutes after you throw up, you got that weird taste in the back of your mouth. Yes. That's what they taste like. That's a good flavor for food. Yep. ⁓ and then I tried Spicy Chechwan Sheshuan crispers. Trash. Yeah. It's these, you can't be getting these artificial flavors. Whatever happened to salt. Yeah. There's two kinds of chips in this world. It's just plain chips of salt and vinegar. Those are the two kinds of chips we could we can write all of the rest off. It it's time to to bring it back to basics. It's time to bring it down to brass tacks. Let's strip it down. Let's go. Plain salt, vinegar, barbecue, ketchup. That's how you can tell if a product is a quality product. You it's why I order plain cheesecake. I want to know if the cheesecake is of quality. That's the one I enjoy it. That's good. I want my potato chip to just be a potato chip with salt on it. Not light salt, not extra salt. I I don't even really want to eat a chip in ever again that's not a kettle chip. I just think once you get to kettle chip technology, there's it's really foolish to go back to a normal chip. Well, sometimes they're too hard for my delicate mouth space. Yeah, they would they you have to be hard if you want to eat kettle chips. Like you have to bring your strength and your will to the to the dance. I I d I I think probably I mentioned this, but I I tried ridged kettle chips and that's too much. What are they doing? What are they thinking? It's too much. It's it all global it's probably in one ball. It's it's like eating balls of chips and fire for my mouth. And the flavors there. Do you guys realize how much I think about ⁓ I wrote a joke years ago about say me going to get chips for a party and ⁓ the wife is serving dip and I bought just regular lay's potato chips? And she got mad because I didn't get the the wavy ridges ones. And I said, ⁓ it'll be fine. But then I said it over all the sounds of cracking chips. Cause the chips were couldn't handle the weight of the chip. And she said, This is a disaster. Yeah. And do you realize how much I think about that? Yeah, no, I'll think of it every time my chip breaks off in some dip when I have a low quality chip. What I do is when I do do that, when I do s break off some chips into the dip, I go I'll I'll reach for a ridge or a wavy lay and I call it the rescue chip. I send him down to get the survivors. Yeah. I like the idea of realizing that you only have thin chips and so you gotta water down that tsatiki. You love watering stuff down. I'm the opposite, I'll double up on the chip. Yeah. That's what I do. I double up on the chip. And I try to find chips that are of similar shapes. I was gonna say they can't go Yeah, they can't go like No. It actually makes the chip weaker. Yeah, it does. Yeah. Yeah. You gotta you gotta find two married chips. Yes. Two married chips. So I think that's a good idea for a product. Like you like the taste of the thin chips, but then you also attach another bag called rescue chips with the dip. Right. Yeah. Every bag comes with eight some ruffled chips for rescuing the survivors. I think it's a good idea. And that's what happened. ⁓ no. It's no it's time for the week. Yeah, it's time for the weekly report, Nate. You guys want to do the weekly report? Sure do. Week, week, week, week, week, week, week, week, week, weekly report. Week, week, week, week, week, week, week, week, week, weekly report. Weekly report. ⁓ it hasn't been that long since we talked, so I don't have too many. I how we've I've experienced baseball redemption. I talked about rescuing ships that it didn't. You made listen, you made the meal out of it. Literally. ⁓ I've experienced baseball redemption. Our team that got we got slaughtered the last time we played, and then we had two weeks off to really stew on it and think about it. And then we came back, ⁓ played a great game. We were down by five in the last thing and we tied it up and The game ended at a tie. Everybody wins. Everybody wins in a tie at baseball. I played good. You get any hits? I got two hits out of four times. I still I got I got some work to do. I'm still I'm I'm working some things out. Deserver fights. ⁓ no, but my brother I like threw a ball home and I totally got the guy out at home, but the other team was umping and they got and they called him safe. And then I ran to second base the next inning, and I was obviously standing on second base before the ball got there. And then they called me out. And then my brother was like started talking. He's like, Well, if we're gonna do, and I was like, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, like, relax, but I would have egged it on. Relax, big. No, I that's bullshit. That is bullshit. This is how my brother felt. It is bullshit. To me, I think this is my true belief about baseball. Is you can't. You can never complain or the baseball gods will punish you. But you have to imagine the most you can do is go, I don't know. Like you can tilt your head. If the if they make a bad call, you go, I don't know. I don't know about that. But anything more than a head tilt with I don't know about that, it's like you're asking for trouble. Because the baseball gods will humble your ass quick. I don't know. I like that. ⁓ so that was good. And then I've I've been getting some really good D's this week. Out of all my D's, I've been getting some really good D's in this week. ⁓ I did two over 30 minute dancing sessions. And that's like I'm really feeling it. If I go 30, because I tell myself you only have to do 10. That's like triple. Triple the required amount of dancing. That means I was feeling it. That means I was really like the song was in your heart. Yeah, the song was in my heart. I had a whole Three hours sitting on the patio yesterday, reading my Dostoevsky. That sounds lovely. And it was yeah, it was it was lovely to be outside and the it was pop the things were popping off in the story. There was a whole there was a scene going on in the story. There was like twelve people in a argument with accusations being thrown, evidence being brought forward to counter the accusations, shocked gasps, people storming out. People angrily boarding carriages. It was a r it was really exciting. See, you don't you can't do that because the horses sense something's wrong and then they're skittish. So everybody's uncomfortable in the drive. Yeah. You're right, Brent. You have to like when you get to the carriage, you have to try as hard as you can not to let the horse yield that energy. You can't pass that energy to the horse. That's sure that's like Will have to tell the horse, we aren't fighting. Imagine if you had to do that with your car. You're like screaming at stuff. Someone you're screaming at someone next to you and they're like, then you have to rub the dashboard like it's okay. It's okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Well, ⁓ the what the horse is the engine of the carriage and it's the horse is the engine of the carriage. Yeah. So you would be giving the horse bad energy. It'd be like pouring a a a hot fudge Sunday onto your c engine in your car. I hope all of our listeners can hear how smart you are. Me and that you are naturally very smart and you have these thoughts that are probably exactly right. He just comes up with this shit like the horse is the carriage of the engine. That's the engine of the carriage. That's where they get horsepower from. Listen to Brent. Woo. Very impressive. I don't I don't know if you guys are being serious, but I'm going with it. I'm putting my top. I think Kay was being serious. I'm dipping into it. I like it. Who's say? Who's to say if I'm being serious? Who's to say? You fooled me. I like it. You fool me all the time. I'm the most gullible person on this podcast. You you really are. Like I said, I have so many streams of information coming in now that it's hard to differentiate where I guess. I think that you are like the lawnmower man. Or like you're put you're putting on like I don't know what that is. Yeah. Some super goggles. Yeah, VR super goggles. Brent's just sitting there going. Kate rolled her eyes back in her head and shook her face around like she was getting so much information put into her brain it was overloaded. Just for the listeners at home, I'd like you guys to know that. It was like Jim Carrey and the Riddler when he was just getting all that information directly being in his brain. Yeah, that's what it's like when I when listen when I got when I'm listening to the Bible and I'm listening to Project Hail Mary. You only know Brent is concentrating when he does that. ⁓ Don't talk to your father, he's learning. I'm crying. I'm crying. My eyes are all back like ⁓ the Undertaker. Don't put on the history channel. I need help with the laundry. Don't put anything on that's just a history channel. ⁓ my god. Thank you. You're welcome. ⁓ that felt good. Yep. And then the I've also been eating my dairy. That's the weekly report. Ooh. ⁓ I just want to add one thing I totally forgot of my my thing is I you guys know me in the East. I respect the East like no other. I think they're they're doing it right. They do it way better than everybody else, and they've been doing it the longest. ⁓ I started a little with a bit of Tai Chi. Okay. You're gonna attack the air. No. Well that's what Melissa said too. She said, if I walk by a room and I see you doing this, she said, I'm gonna laugh at you. I said it's not that. That you're thinking of ⁓ you're mocking the East is what you're doing. I am. Yeah, she's what you are. So it's just fifteen minutes. A little Tai Che comes with enlightenment. You can laugh all you want. I'm on a different plane. Sorry. ⁓ I knew it was for me with the very first exercise was called lymphatic hops. I'm like, yep. Time to get this lymphatic system flowing a bit. Let's get the things. You think about it, it's just kind of like really slow dancing. You're working your way up to it. There's one exercise calls dead called dead arms, and all you do is let your arms go dead and just do this. Hit yourself with them. It's great. Yeah, I usually do that on a Doja Cat song. I that's one move I break out. My Doja Cat songs. Well, isn't that why ⁓ Asian People live longer because they take care of themselves. They understand where energies. Well, if you're gonna get to that hundredth birthday, you might have to start. That's right. A little less little less laughing, a little more listening, maybe. A little more lymphatic hopping, maybe. Yeah. A little more listening, less laughing coming from Kansas City. Maybe that'll make a big difference. Okay. speaking of laughing. And not listening. I think that describes the main character or the movie we watched pretty well. You don't listen to anybody. No, the month is my month, it's Adult Eyes, where we watch movies we've seen as a child and revisit them with our adult eyes. And Nate, tell everybody what we watched. I chose ⁓ the 1994 film The Mask, starring Jim Carrey. I hope I remember the right year. Yep. You got his name wrong, though. What did I say? You said Jim Carrey. It's Jemmifer. ⁓ Jimothy Carey. Sorry. My mistake. My mistake. Tiny Jim. Tiny Jim. ⁓ a film I haven't seen since I was eight years old in the in the theater on a summer vacation in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Kate, I would love it if you tell the audience what happened in this movie. Jim Carrey is Stanley Ipple. Ipkiss and he works at a bank opening new accounts. And Cameron Diaz comes in and flirts with him. But we find out that she is the girlfriend to a bad mobster guy. And also Stanley Ipkiss has terrible luck. And he's a simp. And then one day he finds a mask. In the river, in the dirty river, and decides to put it on his face. And this mask is the god Loki, which is like the wild and crazy guy. Trickster god. Trickster god. And so when he has the mask on, he is very charming with the Cameron Diaz character and also steals money from the bank. But that he steals the money before the Bad guy, Cameron's boyfriend steals the money, and then the police are on to him trying to figure out who's the mask. Then the bad guy gets the mask, and he's gonna do a really big bad job at the Cocoa Banana Club and cocoa bongo. I like Cocoa Banana though. That's good. Cocoa banana's good, yeah. and Then the bad guy puts the mask on and he turns masky. And then also there's a very smart dog that helps the ma Jim Carrey get out of prison. In the very end, Jim Carrey helps the detective who is Boone from a fraternity movie. he's the detective. And they arrest the bad guys, and Jim Carrey learns that he doesn't need the mask. That the ⁓ the mask was wearing him, but really who he is is on the inside. And he for some reason ends up with Cameron Diaz. That's the mask. Nailed it. Yep. Coca Banana. Coca Banana Club. Swish. Yeah. It's a great LeBron. Yeah. That's right. ⁓ speaking of Kobe, the rest in peace, Oliver Tree who died yesterday in a helicopter. Could you believe it? Let's stop taking helicopters everywhere. No need. For real. Let's stay at a helicopter. What a character. Oliver Tree was a big character. Yeah, speaking of characters, Oliver Tree was one, so so was Jim Carrey. Let's talk about our favorite parts. Yeah, sure. Let's do it. Let's bring it back. Yeah. what did you guys think of this film? Loved it. Loved it. I'm so curious to hear what Kate thought. I'm curious to hear what Nate thought. This is the way, the best way that I could for well, okay. Overall, I enjoyed watching it. It was fun to watch. It is a bad movie, but it's almost like as good as a bad movie could be. That was the feeling that I have about it, was where it was like, this isn't like they didn't. build great sets or do anything like everything looks kinda rinky dink, but it was fun. Like the idea is fun enough to carry it through. Yeah, I ugh this was like having to like drink vinegar for me. Nothing but nothing but unpleasant unhappiness. And I made I made myself watch it in sections. And then I've and then we were on the dock yesterday. I was like, this can't get better. This is a great time for me to watch this movie I don't want to watch. And then vinegar is is an acquired taste to some. And some say absolutely. And I get it. I get why it was I don't remember liking it when I watched it in the theater. I remember being like, ⁓ this is like I'm supp I just don't think I don't think slapstick comedy is my thing. And this is slapstick. If this is Roger Rabbit, this is Roger Rabbit. For sure, Roger Rabbit. ⁓ yeah. This is the It had more. Like, this is just a vehicle for Jim Carrey. Like this was 100%. It would be no fun with literally anyone else. Cause even the part where the bad guy gets the mask on, it's like I hate it. Yeah, I hate the bad guy with the mask on because He died. Is barely wearing a mask. He's just like green and he's crazy. So it's like it feels better. Because the mask is just an extension. What? ⁓ please go on. The mask is just an extension of the wearer's personality. So if you are an asshole like Dorian was, he's gonna put the mask on and turn into that big bumbling, rocky looking mean guy. Whereas Jim Carrey's a trickster and a laughster and a fun guy, and he turns in except for the rapey part, the Pepe Le Pew part. Yeah, I didn't like that. I didn't remember that, and I didn't like that. I don't like Jim Carrey movies because of the faces and ⁓ meh meh all that stuff. I don't think that's funny. What was it? Meh mee. I don't like that. ⁓ that's what Jim Carrey impression. I don't like it. I don't and I the only reason I like This movie is because of the like Nate said, it looked rinky dink. I t I think it's the opposite. I think it looked fantastic. ⁓ we this is the way movie's gonna look again. It looked fantastic. Very first scene. Very first scene. It opened up Edge City, looked beautiful. I like the map painting for Edge City. And then like The underwater welding scene was amazing. How the mask got released. No, no backstory on where the mask came from. Why it's locked up. Yeah, but where did that box come from? From a ship. Do you know what I you know what I will say? I started watching this movie and I was watching like a 4K version of this movie. And I was like, I I hate this. I'm like, I cannot watch. Don't like the way this looks. I literally went and looked it up on Netflix to get a lower quality version of the film. And I was like, that's better. That's so much better. We don't need that many Ks. We don't need that many K's. We don't need four Ks. Yeah, I'm gonna do a hot take. Yeah, I'm gonna do a hot take. I think Blu-ray, everything after Blu-ray starts looking like shit. Yeah. That's a hot take for me. I I stumbled across ⁓ an a ⁓ account Posting pictures of porn stars in 4K. Stumbled across it, did you? You stumbled across it? Well, no, it wasn't in the new Yeah, well yeah. It was on my for you page, but that doesn't mean anything. Well, it means they've they've studied you a little bit. I don't ⁓ no, we're trusting to see the pores. You wanna see the the pores of the They're not nudes. They weren't nude. It was just their faces. And how they aged. And I don't we don't need I mean, no what we don't need that we don't need. We don't need 4Ks. I looked great in pictures twenty five years ago. ⁓ yeah, the soft focus of a on camera? Come on. I look just hideous now. A monster, and that's what people should have said about the mask when hi Stanley Ipple w Ippelit kiss lip kiss, which is the dumbest Anyway, ⁓ what was I saying? There's ⁓ ugly something about ugliness. I look like a monster. He puts the mask on and a monster. And we're so and we're all supposed to ignore that this is a monster. What kind of world are we living in? There's no other aspect in this world that's magical other than that mask. And we're all and immediately everybody believes like This is safe and not completely terrifying. Like Dan is defying gravity and like everybody likes him immediately, even though he's a green monster. Nobody like points out that he's a green monster. You guys are wrong because everyone hated him. His landlady shot at him with a gun, his very first guys tried to mug him. They were very it was very funny. Exactly. You guys are saying that he wasn't a monster or he wasn't recognized as a monster. He got shot at, cops wanted his ass in jail, the mob wanted him dead. Cameron Diaz turned on him. Everybody hated him. ⁓ we're judging his appearance. Yes. Yes. Because this is a fiction movie about a specific character. Yeah, you can be racist against green people. We're allowed to on this show. Okay. That's what we're doing then. I d I know I wasn't expecting this from you guys. This was a nice little revisit as a child. ⁓ I enjoyed watching it. ⁓ to get it right, ⁓ Kate did not enjoy it, but I thought it was fun, it was perfectly fun enough for me. I probably will never watch it again. I like got what I needed to get. And I especially felt like I remembered the parts that I liked when I was a kid. Like every time they came up, I was like, I remember seeing it and being like, Hell yeah. ⁓ When he jumps out the window and then he hits the ground and he gets flat and then he like peels himself on like when I was a kid, I like, that's great. That's really good graphics, guys. Well, I mean, it's been thirty what, thirty two years? And we're still saying we're still saying smoking and somebody stop me. Okay. I thought there was gonna be more. I thought there was gonna be more lines, but those were like the only two that were really like stood out. Yeah. And that's classic. I mean, it's a spicy meatable. ⁓ I liked it when he said that that's a spicy meatball. I remember being a kid too and really liking that. We're not there's lots of movies that we're not saying dialogue from it 30 two years ago. I ⁓ I I I'm willing to bet at least it's soap it's such background noise to us now, but at least once a week, Kate, you hear somebody or someone say, Somebody stop me or smoking. Okay. It's been a while since I heard smoking. No, it's been a while since I haven't smoking. Not me. I hear it all the time. I bet I could in Kansas City because of the barbecue. So I bet there's somebody. I could find somebody. Smoking. We're smoking. A guy on the grill making ribs. Somebody stop me. Not a grill. It's not a grill. Guy on the smoker. Somebody stop me. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ you hear it all the time, but it's it's iconic. ⁓ Kate, I I regret your four. You're gonna like this nice part. I've seen a lot of you in the mask character. Great. When especially when hit this line here, P-A-R-T-Y, because I gotta. I'm like, that's Kate. P-A-R-T-Y. Because I gotta. Jim does such a great job. He plays like the meek banker so well, and then he really is like quite the performer to like transform into this insane. Character and I fucking loved how before he runs anywhere, he does the like put one arm and one leg to one side to like build up the momentum before he runs. Like that's he is he's a human cartoon, and that's what he is, and that's what he wanted to be for this movie. And like Kate said, it's a vehicle form. ⁓ my I think the most wild haircut a male can have is the skulllet. And then pulled back into a ponytail. Yeah, I I was going to bring that up. And there's not only one, but we have two central characters with that haircut, which is why. Like, and one of the guys was so bald. He wasn't even like half bald. That horseshoe went back to the back of his fucking scalp and he still had a ponytail on that thing. No, I thought it was like a round circle. Like in the one guy had like just like a round circle and a long braid. That was the henchman. That was the henchman that had that. That's crazy. A lot of that man a lot of juicy curls in this movie. A lot of juicy curls in this movie. It's the listen, I'm gonna say it. Ambiguous, very pale, ⁓ Eastern European guy too. Austrian German long haired blonde guy. If you're rocking that haircut unironically, you're not doing anybody any favors. Nobody trusts you. Everyone judges you. So if you're just gonna tell you you're a bad guy. Yeah, if you're listening to this episode and that you have that haircut, this is why it's a friend club. Because we're telling you as friends it's time to change it. Yep. And you're scaring people. And you're n and and you're scaring yourself. Yep. You're wearing a mask on your head. The ponytail skull is your mask. Yep. You're you're yeah. ⁓ the mathneck guy was in this show, movie. You guys remember Mathnet? Square TV. Remember Square TV? That's a Canadian thing. No. It might, it might be, I think it made a much bigger cultural impact in Canada than it did in America. You come home from school and you sit down, you watch Square TV. ⁓ I've seen, yeah. And you Max, what's the what's the robot guy's name? Max Headroom. Yep. Yeah. That guy? Yeah. Kate Monday and George Frankly and Pat Tuesday. You you watch you watch MathNet and that guy, every time he's in a movie or show, I'm like, ⁓ MathNet guy. I like MathNet. I also, from that period, something I think of very often is Ghostwriter. I really like Ghostwriter. Love Ghostwriter. Jamal. Jamal. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ what else do I got here? The the the whole listen. Rest in peace, he killed himself, but Richard Jenny in this movie was just a despicable gross person. I got a little bit Richard Jenny, I know. ⁓ my god. ⁓ he's ⁓ I he's ⁓ he plays like the freaking shot himself in the bathroom of his house. Damn wife found him. Whoa. Yeah, I'm really bringing it. Why didn't get into the Coco Bongo. That's a bummer. He was 49. Yeah. You're I guess he was sad. I don't know. He's trying to ride the high of the mask, and then the rolls kind of dried up. It's all downhill from there. He was, yep. He sniffed Cameron Diaz's jacket. If I ever saw someone sniff someone's glow like that one bit. I had a friend. And he was sniffing, there's something so perverse about sniffing. Yeah. Like you don't. If I had a friend that was a close sniffer, I would not be his friend. It would be like such an unbelievable red flag if I knew a guy who's a sniffer. You can't You would reflect so poorly on me. Yep. Yeah. It's like it's like the it's like a huffer. You know? Okay. It's like No, go ahead. Explain. I don't know. No, like sniffing people is the sexual perversion that ⁓ s huffing nitrous is to drug use. Okay I would I would say sniff sniffing. I'm glad you took us there. I would say sniffing is also a mask. Go on. Nice. Two year two in a row, guys. Yeah. Two year perversion. And you're showing people that I'm actually a pervert and I sniff. Okay. Pervert. Really good analysis. There's a lot of secret perverts in the world. ⁓ the world is full of them. And I think we should sniff them out. I wish the audience could see how proud Kate was when she said that. She even threw in a little like figure. Point to like really hit home that she was nailing it. Proud of that one. We have a quiz. You guys ready for the quiz? The the mask seven? Yep. Masked seven. Brent's already said it, so he's ruined the first question. Ruin by paying attention. Yep. But I'm a man of honor, so I will still read the question because one of the answers is very funny. What is the name of the fictional city where this film takes place? And we'll start with Kate. Edge City, Edgeville, Edgeburg, or Edgemonton? Worth it. Edge City. Edge City. Of course. He he he takes place in Edge City. It should be Edgmonton, though. Edgminton's excellent. Thank you. Right. Point for you both. In the first scene, Cameron Diaz is wearing a beautiful red dress. Non perverts will have noticed that she was also wearing a coat. What is embroidered on her coat? Flowers, birds, musical notes, or Japanese calligraphy. ⁓ god. I I'm not gonna lie, I'm pervert. gotcha. Yep. ⁓ I I I want to say, listen, I'm gonna think this out this is also gonna help Kate out though, but musical notes is too obvious because she's a singer. Japanese calligraphy is an obvious play to me because I respect the East. Birds, and what was the other one? Flowers. I'm gonna go Flowers. I don't remember. I was going I'm gonna say flowers. You're both correct. It was flowers. Thank God. It was flowers. I nailed that perfectly. You blocked you everything you said was correct. I know I thought you know, musical notes because she's a singer, I really thought I could get you guys. But you know the costume director wouldn't be that obvious. No. ⁓ I we all know though it's the East and I you took full advantage of it. Yep. Thank you. ⁓ you guys both have to burnt too. Yeah, I'm really burnt all over. Yeah. Yeah. What is the name of the lady who lives next door to Stanley Ipkiss? Miss Pendleton, Miss Peenman, Miss Proctor, or Miss Penski? Peeneman. She was ⁓ one of my favorite lines is when he said, Sorry, Miss Peen. She's the Peen Man. Yep. Her father was a Peeneman. Yep. Terrible name. Terrible, terrible name. She was married to s she was married to someone ⁓ famous. Good story. Let's see. Let's see. Her name's Nancy Fish, which is funny. Not f not famous. Not famous enough to name it on her little No sh she was. One second. ⁓ I was I wasn't I'm not gonna say shocked. Pete Barnum. Pete Barnum. No. I don't know about that, brother. Did I get duped? Pete Barnum was like the eighteen hundreds, bro. ⁓ eighteen seventy four. Yeah, you're right. Sorry. I don't know about But he did marry he did marry a Nancy Fish in London. It was a different Nancy Fish. Okay. All right. I should've read a bit more. See? Streams. I got so much going on. So much info. What is the name of Dr. Newman's book? Book he is advertising on the television. The face behind the mask, the invisible mask, the masks we wear, or the metaphorical mask. ⁓ fuck. The mask we wear? I think it's that too. Well, you guys have gone four for four so far. And I'm just absolutely crushing this quiz. I know it was that. I just tried to Somebody stop them, right? Smoking. See? They're smoking the quiz. Okay. ⁓ what is the first balloon animal that the masks creates for the gang of streetwise tufts? Say it again. He gets cornered in an alley by a gang of streetwise tufts, and he's so he makes them all balloon animals. So which is the first kind of balloon animal he makes for the streetwise tufts? They're Frenchwise Tufts. A French poodle, an elephant, a duck, or a giraffe. ⁓ Whose turn is it? Yours. Giraffe. It was of course the French poodle. It was of course the giraffe. Kate is correct. The French poodle was the second animal that he made. Second animal. What? Yes, they put it down because it was rabid fuck. Kate has taken the lead with two questions left. What is the title of the review in the newspaper for Cameron Diaz's performance? He said, ⁓ your girlfriend's in the newspaper. What was the headline? Stunning debut for Beauty at the Bongo. Bombshell explodes at the Coco Bongo. Bongo Beauty crushes at Coco. Or locals go loco for Coco Crooner. You love making this question. B. I'm also gonna say B. You back. You're both wrecked. The bombshell explodes at the cocoa bonger. Kate has gotten every single question right so far. This is I have to this is where I have to tie it up. Nico hits a nine iron off a T in Dorian's mouth. Didn't like that. ⁓ yeah. I remember that when I was a kid. I was like, ⁓ no. That looks like it would hurt. How far does the golf ball go? Two hundred yards, two hundred and five yards, two hundred and ten yards, or two hundred and fifteen yards. It's my turn. No. Mm hmm. Okay. Yep. Yep. 215. 205. We got a tie ball game. Brent has ⁓ miraculously tied this this up with his fantastic guest. We're going into overtime, folks. Gone forever. He started combing his beard with his comb. Confidence. That's what it is. All right. I'm locking in. Okay. What a year this guy had. He was in The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Ace Venture Pet Detective all in 1994. ⁓ my god. Wow. Let's do Pet Detective. How much did the film Ace Venture Pet Detective make at the box office? And we will start with We'll say the worldwide gross. Worldwide Gross. On a $15 million budget, how much did Ace Venture, a pet detective, make? 172 million. I was gonna say two fifteen. We have a winner. This movie made one hundred and seven million dollars at the box office. Brent has come from behind to steal this quiz and get on the board. He's done it, folks. He's been ice cold lately. It's and now he's back on top. He needed it. It's been so long. I I ⁓ It's everything where I thought it was gonna be. I'm very happy. Brent, what would you like us to do to celebrate? Compliment. Okay. Brent cheese is compliment. I would my compliment for you today, Brent, is that ⁓ I'm really impressed by ⁓ how much food you were able to eat at wrestling while still ⁓ working the whole time because I would have had to take a nap. So I'm really I'm surpr ⁓ this is a compliment about your endurance. The haters will say I have a baby tummy and was fussy, but I wasn't. Thank you, Nate. That was a very nice compliment. Kate, your turn. My compliment for you is that you are a very caring dog owner and that you treat your animals with respect and dignity. And a lot of us don't do that. I think they would be as loyal to you as the dog in this film was to Stanley Ipkis. Absolutely. Yeah, you get you're both right. I smell their ears and tell them that they smell like ears. Mm-hmm. Same as thing, the big big pisser club you're talking about, right? Yep. BPC, big pisser clubs, cork dogs. That's that's much better than screaming out spelling each other's names. But I'll always choose compliments. Thank you guys. You're welcome. Kate. Great addition to the show. Thank you. That's a compliment. That was my bonus compliment. Yeah. No, it was Kate's idea last week. No. Wasn't it? No. I wanted to do something different. I think compliments compliment. Okay, so it was a team effort. ⁓ you know what? I'm just so proud of this team. I'm lucky to work with such a talented team. It's a tight team. It's a T T, yep. Shall we rate this movie? No, we'll hand out some medals. Let's hand out some medals. Medals. I was gonna give it to Boone from ⁓ Animal House, Peter Ragert, who plays the detective. No, I hated him. I like him. I liked him because he's a straight man. So he gets my bronze. ⁓ Amy Asback, Peggy Brandt, the the reporter that ⁓ turned him in. A big curve ball there. I thought she was gonna be the love interest. Right. and she turned out to be a backstabber. Can't trust those redheads, bronze medal. God's giving you a warning. Yep. He's trying to give you some information. The red hairs, they're masked. She was married to John Ritter. I don't know who that is. She was in Problem Child, I remember that. And she was in some ⁓ Mel Brooks movies too. John Ritter is Jack Tripper on Three's Company. ⁓ yeah. Sorry. Of course I know who that is. You're right. You know who. You know who the Ritterman is. I know. I'm gonna give my bronze to Peter Green. He's so he's a scary looking guy. He's like he's got the he's like he seems like a very handsome fellow, but in a s in a scary way. And so he plays gross. He played a good gross guy in this movie. He did a good job. He died of a heroin overdose last year. Was it hero yeah, was it heroin? Yeah. Okay. I was wondering how he died. People should try reading a book and like lifting de weights. Lifting weights. Just fucking chill. Do some gargoyle work instead of doing some heroin work. I did a little gargoyle work the other day. It was a really good I did. You know what? I copied off you and I did it the other day. I was gonna bring it Yeah. I'm gonna give my silver to Cameron Diaz, who ⁓ did a good job of being very sexual. It's kinda okay. ⁓ yeah, it's kind of a She was having to be sensual the whole time. It was a very one note character. She didn't have a lot to do Like and she did the most that she could with what they gave her to work with. And it was her it was her first role. She got an and introducing Cameron Diaz in the credits, I noticed. I saw that. That's not a bad that's not a bad first role. ⁓ I mean, I remembered it for thirty years. Yeah, this is just a shout out for the Mayor Tilton. That's not guys not getting my ⁓ medal, but his name is Ivory Ocean in real life. Mayor Tilton? That's pretty sick. Yep. ⁓ my silver medal goes to the one, the only Cameron Diaz, introducing her as Tina Carlisle. She she put ⁓ she had a lot of teenage boys in a headlock after this movie. Not me because of I'm not really into blonde hair. Like brunettes. Yeah. Silver medal. Yeah, she's gonna get my silver too. I thought she did a great job. She was she was very beautiful, but she was also like charming in the movie and they didn't give her a lot, but she brought The character to life for sure. She was good. She could be the 50 Diaz. Gold medal time. ⁓ I think it's gonna be a Taylor system. You have to give it to ⁓ Jimmether Ker Carey. Can't can't do this movie without him. You just simply cannot do this movie without him. ⁓ I ha yeah, it's obviously gonna be him. I also thought that if this movie was made today, Sidney Sweeney would be the camera Diaz character. I think that's correct. And ⁓ I don't really have anybody for the Jim Carre Kerry character because I I may not agree with find him funny, but a lot of people do find him funny. He's has a lot of the most horrible movies out there. ⁓ and I think he acted as whole off, especially in that scene where he's dying as the mask and he accepts the the awards. Which is funny. He did a lot of different voices and famous lines, and he's yeah. Old metal. And he had such big fake teeth. Yeah. They were huge. I didn't realize. That's To me, when I was a kid, those were just all adults had teeth that big. So I had to grow up to really see how big those teeth are. That's I'm not impressed by that because I do it every day. Prince got a complex about his teeth. They're just normal. His ears. I listen, I have ⁓ extremes in my features. Big heart though. Big heart. Enlarged heart. Don't say that. Let's not don't put that on me. Let's not put that on me. What's next? ⁓ it's time to rate this movie. Do you guys want to rate this movie? Sure do. I give you both a ten out of ten. The script for this movie. I think it was actually based on a comic book. I didn't know that until I was reading about it. ⁓ Which I don't think this would be very fun as a comic book. It seems like it's kind of has to be a movie for the guy to act like a Bugs Bunny. Seems seems like it wouldn't be that much fun if he's not acting like Bugs Bunny. The script for this movie, though. What do you guys think of the script for this movie? I hated it. I'm giving it a four. ⁓ It's I mean, it's just you need a vehicle for someone to act crazy. ⁓ I guess classic bank rob. Yeah, I'll give the seven. Yeah, I think it was it did what it came here to do, but it is not good. It gets a six point five from me. Yeah, he's your sixth in sixth inning pitcher. You don't wanna see him, but Middle reliever. Yeah. The art direction for this film, the sets, the props, the costumes. ⁓ Jim Carrey kinda got that shit on in this movie. He that smoking jacket, his first costume, and that's the He was looking pretty sick. I cannot lie. Yellow zoot suit. Yeah. I'm giving this a ten. I'm giving it a ten in our direction. It's a ten for me. ⁓ the like the Iconic yellow zoot suit. ⁓ people still dress up as the masks for Halloween to this day in that costume. Smoke, they say smoking and somebody stop me at least once a week. he th acting like a big horny wolf when he sees Cam Diaz, he turns into a wolf, his tongue falls out, he hits himself in the head. Eyeballs shoot out of his head. Eyeballs out of your head. Multiple multiple scenes where he loses his eyeballs. Ten. I'm gonna give it an eight because I think that it could have been better, but it also could have been a lot worse. I'm surprised you got it got as high as eight, so I think the mask would take that right now. Cutting edge technology at the time. Really good graphics. Knife's edge of technology. Owned. The music for this film. ⁓ the music for this film is weird. Did you guys hear the last song? It was one of our songs. Where they sing about the mask. Who is the man being on the mask? There was I swear to God. I didn't even catch that. ⁓ I was already gonna give it a high score, but now it got me to give it an even higher score. The music is weird in this movie. There's one s piece of like original music in the score that I think is really good. I remembered it from being a kid. And then there's some parts of the score that are like so horrible. And then there's Kind of kick ass good swing music. It's a real mixed bag over here. I'm gonna go eight quite five. I'm gonna give it an I'm gonna give it an eight because the music was fun, but that last song. This is a huge whiff. It gets a five from me. Ooh. ⁓ I hate big band music. I hate Samba music. ⁓ if that offends, ⁓ I don't care. I don't like it. This movie was begging for a hollow notes soundtrack. What? How? Rich rich girl when she comes into the bank. But she's okay. Okay. See, everyone makes that face when I talk. They're like, What? But then I s I I I explain it and now Kate's like, Yep, that's right. No, I'm literally shaking my head the other direction. Screaming for a hollow notes. Clarify. Scream for hollow notes the whole time. The genre it is a superhero slapstick comedy film. See, I think superhero is all wrong. Yeah. It's a monster. Because he says there's one part where he's like, I could use these powers to be a superhero and save the world. And he's then he says something cheeky like, nah, I'm not gonna do that. First, I gotta make a stop. And he goes and shoves the muffler up the guy's ass at the superhero crime. What was it? Superhero slapstick comedy film. Was that slapstick in comedies, right? I'm gonna take off two points for superhero. I'm gonna go an eight for slapstick comedy. I might give it a five. Seven. Okay. Not a superhero. This one of our most diversely scored films of all time. We're all over the road here. The theme of this month is films that you saw when you were a kid. Should you rewatch them? Should you rewatch a movie that you haven't seen since you were a kid? If you you hadn't seen this movie since you were in Winnipeg, Manitoba when you were eight years old in the movie theater. Would you recommend watching this movie again? ⁓ yeah, ten. The mask is just one of those movies that you have to watch. Everyone has to experience the mask once in their life to explain all the the people saying smoking and all that. So I'm rating it as would I want to watch it or are you glad you watched it as an adult? I'm rating it a two. Getting it. Kate's not happy. Kate didn't have a good time. She said it was like drinking vinegar. It was no fun for her. I we I said Dick Tracy, which is a very comic book movie. You did the mask, which is a very comic book movie. And then Kate picked set it off about a bank robbery where everyone dies. Yeah. Adult eyes. Adult eyes. I'm gonna give it. How do I feel? I enjoyed watching this movie. It wasn't nearly as good as I remembered. There are parts that are great. I would say it's like you don't gotta rush to rewatch this if you haven't. So I'm gonna give it a seven. I'm just gonna say, like, if you had fun, maybe that's how I would say it. If you had fun when you watched it as a kid, like, yeah, go ahead and watch it again. Watch Jim Carrey be a silly goof. And if if you didn't have fond memories of it, you're good. Yeah. There's nothing there that you missed. You were correct. We'll see. ⁓ this movie gets a thirty-five point three. Ooh, damn. Yeah, we had some there's some tough scores. There's some tough scores on the mask. That's I think every Jim Gary movie will get that score. No, like I think the Grinch got pretty good. I feel like that's different. Grinch is beloved character that's close near dear. I feel like the same thing happened on that episode where we're like you were both like, we don't Really like Jim Carryer and all three of us gave him the gold medal. Which I was totally prepared for and did a great job choosing both a theme and a movie. And that means all that's left to do is say goodnight, Kate. Good night, Kate. Good night, Katherine. I've never seen a like of it before. President clothed in immense Stepped out upon the world stage now. No! Freedom. Lincoln rated PG 13 outplaying in select cities everywhere Friday. ⁓ yeah.
