- 0:01As I was reading the book of Jeremiah, the part about the
- 0:07word of the Lord came to me stood out because of what's
- 0:12recently happened and it's September 27th, 2025.
- 0:18And if any of you follow prophecy or if you just want to
- 0:23go, I don't know if people probably took down the videos
- 0:26since then, but in the prior weeks, I, I probably saw the,
- 0:32the, the original one that went viral.
- 0:35And because it went viral, because it gave a date of
- 0:39rapture date of September 23rd, 2025.
- 0:44And when I listened to it, it was a it was a long interview
- 0:49and it was this Joshua who was talking about this, this rapture
- 0:53date. And you know, he, he did seem
- 0:57like he was a believer. And but then I was very
- 1:01skeptical because it was so specific.
- 1:04And, you know, we all have to be discerning about those things.
- 1:08And then what followed it, I would say that was probably like
- 1:12when I saw it was maybe about a month ago, a month before the
- 1:16event was supposed to occur. And so I, I thought about it and
- 1:23I was, you know, I do listen to things that people say, but I
- 1:26just was, I just didn't know what to think of it, to be
- 1:29honest. And then what really concerned
- 1:33me though, was that there were all of these other people who
- 1:36did seem like real believers. Like they really seemed like
- 1:40they were, they were sincere believers.
- 1:43They weren't, they were just common people who were praying
- 1:47about it as well. And they were getting
- 1:49confirmations from God. And that kind of really was
- 1:56that, that that made me like question like, why am I doubting
- 1:59what this guy says? But at the same time, I don't
- 2:03put my faith in what anybody says.
- 2:06If they say they're a prophet or they hear from God, I'm I'm
- 2:09always skeptical of that. At the same time that I'm
- 2:12skeptical of that, after I got baptized, I started having
- 2:16dreams and certain scenes from my dreams would happen in my
- 2:21real life afterwards. So because of my own
- 2:25experiences, and I've had like 80 different dreams since then,
- 2:29since I got baptized in 2021 and because of my own personal
- 2:33experiences, I'm not doubting that some of these people have
- 2:37these dreams. Some of these people may hear
- 2:40things from the Lord. I believe that.
- 2:43I'm not saying these people are are you know, they're, I, I
- 2:48believe them because I've experienced it myself, but I
- 2:52just like anyone else who hasn't had that specific thing happen
- 2:55to them, everyone will be skeptical of it and think I
- 2:59don't know about that. Well, that's exactly how I was
- 3:02like I, I know God does that, but at the same time it just
- 3:08was, it was confusing to me, which God is not the author of
- 3:14confusion. You have to remember that part
- 3:16of Scripture as well. So then also I, I want to talk
- 3:20about something that I'm almost fearful of even saying because
- 3:25of what's happened about this prediction.
- 3:29So Joshua, in this video, he predicted that the rapture would
- 3:32occur on September 23rd, 2025. Specific day, specific year.
- 3:38Maybe he might have said the 24th, perhaps like within a day
- 3:42of that, but it was definitely the year 2025, no question about
- 3:46it. And that he was told by the Lord
- 3:49Jesus appeared to him in a vision.
- 3:51Now, Jesus did appear to Paul in a vision.
- 3:54So that's, you know, something that you know, that is biblical
- 3:59that that could happen. But you know, the question
- 4:01remains like, why would God appear to why would Jesus appear
- 4:05to Joshua and tell him this thing?
- 4:08Well, maybe to warn people of this very soon coming of Christ.
- 4:14Now that part I you know, he what he was saying in that
- 4:17regard was that he was warning people to prepare.
- 4:21And so the message he was giving to people was biblical.
- 4:27And so again, I thought, well, I can't be prideful and think that
- 4:33I know it's not going to happen if it is going to happen.
- 4:36And so the way that I reacted to what I heard him say was that we
- 4:41just need to be prepared because we don't know if it was going to
- 4:47happen or if it didn't. Well, now in hindsight on the
- 4:5027th, we can say it did not happen at that day.
- 4:53Now I've heard he's giving a new date and I really don't have any
- 4:56faith in that new date because I feel like that's almost prideful
- 5:00just saying, well, he's just so sure of what he heard and and
- 5:06then he just wants to find out how to make it possible.
- 5:10And he so now he's using the Julian calendar to make it that
- 5:15date. I believe he really believes
- 5:18that he heard from God. But the scripture that comes to
- 5:21mind when that happens is that Satan can appear like an Angel
- 5:25of light. Satan masquerades as an Angel of
- 5:29light. I just don't we don't know the
- 5:34capabilities of what Satan has. And the other thing is I'm not
- 5:38saying, you know, Joshua could very well be and does seem to be
- 5:43a man of God. And like I said, what he what he
- 5:46says, he seems to be very sincere in it.
- 5:50And, and I do believe that he did see something, he did have
- 5:54some sort of experience. But the question is, was it
- 5:58really Jesus or was it someone pretending to be Jesus?
- 6:03Because Jesus himself said that there will be all kinds of false
- 6:09prophets and false messiahs coming in my name.
- 6:15So could this be a fulfillment of what Jesus said would happen,
- 6:20Where Jesus said that there will be all sorts of false messiahs
- 6:26coming in my name? Could that happen in a dream?
- 6:30Because that's what happened to Joshua.
- 6:32And it says and that the Satan would be doing this, Satan would
- 6:37be behind this because he would do these signs and wonders that
- 6:42if possible could deceive even the elect.
- 6:46And that's what I think we have to, you know.
- 6:48So I think Joshua is the elect from other just like hit the
- 6:52what he said, and I could be wrong about that.
- 6:54I'm not judging whether he is or he isn't, but I think he
- 6:58sincerely, I mean, he was so confident.
- 7:01I think he said like 100 billionth percentage or like his
- 7:06numbers of his confidence is what he was saying, saying that
- 7:09he was so sure that it was going to happen.
- 7:12And the other thing I think about this is how the OK, this
- 7:16could be a fulfillment of what Jesus said, a false Messiah,
- 7:20even coming in a dream, a false Messiah.
- 7:24And what would the purpose of that be?
- 7:26The purpose of that would be to deceive.
- 7:29So all of a sudden he had all of these believers believing and
- 7:35receiving confirmations that this was going to happen.
- 7:39So now everybody on the outside who maybe wasn't a believer or
- 7:43maybe even believers are going to look at all those people who
- 7:46said I got confirmation from God and it's going to happen.
- 7:50All those people that said that now there anybody who hears them
- 7:54talk again is going to be skeptical.
- 7:55They're not going to believe anything they say.
- 7:57Don't you think that would be a really great strategy by the
- 8:01enemy of God to have all these people?
- 8:04I mean, this thing went viral. Don't you think that would be
- 8:08like a strategy of the enemy? Make it go viral, make this date
- 8:13go viral. And then when it doesn't happen,
- 8:16the people look foolish that they all believed this was the
- 8:21date. Well, that's where I'm wondering
- 8:24is that part of the great deception that is here today?
- 8:29And this probably isn't going to be the only time that there's
- 8:32going to be a deception. Again, This is why getting in
- 8:35the word every single day and reading the word so that you
- 8:39know these things like Joshua seems like he is, like I said,
- 8:45he seems like a believer in everything.
- 8:48And maybe because it was so impactful that he was just, he
- 8:53wanted people to be prepared. Like his heart was very sincere
- 8:57and he did encourage people. Now the question after the fact
- 9:01is what happened to all those people that believed that was
- 9:04going to happen? And again, this is another
- 9:07strategy of the enemy. When something doesn't come
- 9:10through, they fall away. Well, that's something else that
- 9:14the enemy wants people to do is fall away.
- 9:17So the thing about any of these like dates or whatever people,
- 9:24you know, even the the timing of God's gathering of people like
- 9:29if it's a pre tribulation, mid tribulation, post tribulation,
- 9:36we can't be set in our ways. We have to realize that
- 9:40scripture is hard to interpret this debate, especially on when
- 9:46it occurs pre mid post that has been debated for years and
- 9:52people have different arguments for it and everybody will land
- 9:56in a certain place. We shouldn't so much be
- 10:00concerned about when as to everybody needs to be prepared.
- 10:07So the only time that when is important is that if it's coming
- 10:12up soon or if people believe it's coming up soon, then that
- 10:15means you people do not have much time to prepare.
- 10:19And I think that message is coming forth loud and clear by
- 10:24everyone who's having dreams and visions right now.
- 10:27Time is urgent. We need to be prepared.
- 10:33And when I say prepared, it's not like a prepper.
- 10:37Our relationship with God needs to be right.
- 10:39We need to repent. We need to make Jesus Lord of
- 10:44our life. We need to acknowledge that
- 10:47Jesus, when he returns, is going to be king over all of the earth
- 10:51and everyone will bow to him. He is going to be the authority
- 10:56over everyone. And we need to be, I guess, to
- 11:01have thought through all of that and let God know, are we willing
- 11:06to have Jesus rule over us? And if we are, we need to be
- 11:10willing to obey God's commands. God will help us obey His
- 11:14commands because He will give us the Holy Spirit.
- 11:17Jesus said He will send the Holy Spirit.
- 11:19He will request it from the Father and then give to us the
- 11:22Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is what will
- 11:25change a person and make us ready.
- 11:27It's spiritual preparation. That's the kind of preparation
- 11:31that I'm talking about. And we can't be, we can't be
- 11:37lukewarm because I talked about this in the last podcast.
- 11:40If we are lukewarm, we are with the enemy.
- 11:43We are not with God. We can't be on the fence.
- 11:46We can't be half in, half out. We're either all for or we're
- 11:51God's enemy and that needs to become real in our life.
- 11:55We need to wake up. We need to get ready, we need to
- 11:59be prepared. We need to have communication
- 12:01with God and be in the word of God so that we can know when we
- 12:07are being deceived. Well, know when we are being
- 12:09deceived. That doesn't really make sense,
- 12:11but we need to know God's word so that we aren't deceived
- 12:15because the deception is going to be so great.
- 12:19These are like trial runs. I think God is being merciful
- 12:23with us and he's allowing these things.
- 12:26God probably allowed this Joshua video to go viral so that people
- 12:31could see that OK, this didn't happen, but this guy seems like
- 12:36a man of God. So what happened?
- 12:38Could it have been a great deception this happened?
- 12:42In fact, I'm probably people be upset about this, but it's true.
- 12:47This happened with another religion.
- 12:50The Bible was written, the last book of the Bible was written in
- 12:5590 AD. And within the Bible it says if
- 12:59anyone gives you another gospel different from ours and it says
- 13:05something about let that person be accursed is what it says.
- 13:08But it's a deceiver that would do something like that.
- 13:12And then in 600 years after, well in 600 AD around there are
- 13:18537, almost 600 years later, the a prophet gets a download from
- 13:27angels, from the Angel Gabriel and starts a whole new religion.
- 13:33And I'm not even going to say what it is, but there's another
- 13:36religion out there that came about around 6:37 I think is
- 13:41when this prophet said that angels came and gave him this
- 13:45message. And this prophet is supposed to
- 13:46be a greater prophet than Jesus by those who believe him.
- 13:50And it's a big false lie because again, the Bible warned us about
- 13:55it. So the people who were not
- 13:57familiar with the Bible believed the great deception and are
- 14:01still under the great deception. Hopefully the people will come
- 14:05out of that great deception and be able to be in God's Kingdom.
- 14:09Because if you are following that, you are in idolatry and
- 14:14you are not worshipping the true God.
- 14:17So in order to be in God's Kingdom, Jesus said I am the
- 14:23way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father
- 14:27except through me. Jesus had followers that were
- 14:32actually killed because of their belief that because they would
- 14:35not renounce Jesus, like they gave up their lives.
- 14:39Jesus gave up his life for all of us so that we can be in God's
- 14:42Kingdom. And then his followers, many of
- 14:46them did the same thing because they would not.
- 14:49You know, those who deny me, I will deny.
- 14:51That's what Jesus said. I will deny them before the
- 14:54Father so it when they knew Jesus as intimately as they did.
- 15:00There was no way that these people were going to deny
- 15:03someone they knew that was the Son of God and they saw the
- 15:09miracles he performed. They saw everything he did.
- 15:12They saw him resurrected from the dead.
- 15:15They saw him eat after he resurrected, he died.
- 15:19He was raised, he ate with them after that.
- 15:23Then he ascended and went back to the father and said he was
- 15:25going there to prepare a place for them, which there's just so
- 15:30much. I could probably talk for hours
- 15:33about this, but getting back to this whole like date that was
- 15:38given that didn't happen again, I, I want to give grace, let's
- 15:47say give grace to Joshua because he, he sounded like he was a man
- 15:52of God. He could have very well.
- 15:56It seems like he may have been deceived by something that
- 16:00wasn't God but was so powerful. I again, I think that's the same
- 16:05thing that happened to a lot of the ancient people in the world,
- 16:08all these various religions that are out there.
- 16:12I think something very powerful came to these people.
- 16:16I don't think these people were ignorant.
- 16:18I don't think these people were, you know, just unintelligible
- 16:23people that believed these crazy things.
- 16:26I think they literally saw these things, things, and they worship
- 16:30these things because they saw these things were greater and
- 16:34bigger and supernatural. We're not humans.
- 16:38And so they worship them like what they had in ancient
- 16:41Mesopotamia, in Babylon, in all these different places.
- 16:45These are all false things, you know.
- 16:48Are they spirits? Are they demons?
- 16:50Are they Satan? I don't know what they are.
- 16:53There's something other than God though, and they want to be
- 16:57worshipped and they want to be God.
- 17:00It kind of fits the description of Satan.
- 17:02All these other religions that do not acknowledge Jesus as the
- 17:07way, the truth and the life are part of that.
- 17:12You just can't get around it. And anyway, I don't know if I'm
- 17:18prepared to really talk more about that, but I'm I'm really
- 17:21talking about visions, dreams and things that come up and this
- 17:30all these people, because it went so viral and people, I
- 17:33think, did some people did drastic things like getting rid,
- 17:38donating things because they were so sure and they got their
- 17:41confirmations. What is happening with those
- 17:44people? Did they destroy their lives by
- 17:47giving away everything? Do they they're in like a lesser
- 17:54ability than they had before because of maybe some actions
- 17:57that they took because they believed in this specific date?
- 18:01Well, I think those might be lessons for us and just lessons
- 18:07from, you know, that got allowed that we need to really stay in
- 18:12the word and really know and test things.
- 18:16I was also thinking like, how do we know if it's the word of God
- 18:20or if it's our own thought or if it's something evil?
- 18:26Usually we can tell something that is evil if it contradicts
- 18:31the Bible again. So the Bible is the most
- 18:35important thing we can do is to read it and know what's in it so
- 18:39that we can easily identify things that are lies, that are
- 18:43untruths and and that takes a while, but that's why we need to
- 18:48do it every day. In fact, when Moses gave the
- 18:53laws, when the kings came about, the first kings, because first
- 18:57the Israelites had God, but then the Israelites wanted to be like
- 19:01the other nations around them and wanted to have a king.
- 19:04And God told them it's not going to go well if you have a king
- 19:07because you will become a slave to him or something to that
- 19:10effect. He, you know, it's, it's just
- 19:12not going to be good. You have all this freedom, you
- 19:14don't really need it, but they wanted one.
- 19:17So they got Saul. He fit the picture of what it
- 19:20was, but Saul was more about himself.
- 19:23He was kind of, he was the lukewarm guy.
- 19:26He was listening to part of what God would say, but then he was
- 19:29doing what he wanted to do. And eventually God just said,
- 19:33no, done with you. I'm taking away your authority
- 19:37and David's going to come in now because you, you did not do
- 19:41you're not obedient. And he was, he was just too
- 19:45rebellious, I guess. So they, I don't remember now
- 19:51where I was going with that. Anyway, I'm going to, I don't, I
- 19:56don't remember honestly where it was.
- 19:57It might come back to me because I was looking at more things
- 19:59that I had about the word of God and and just how God speaks to
- 20:03somebody. Oh, just the fact that we need
- 20:05to really be. Sure, this is God.
- 20:09God did give certain signs to people like Gideon when he was
- 20:14really seeking the Lord, he was throwing out fleece and he was
- 20:17saying like if this is you have the dew land on the fleece and
- 20:21if it's not then it'll be dry. And then he did all these things
- 20:24like he wasn't testing God. He was trying to get a direction
- 20:28from God. And there was, you know, we have
- 20:34to be very careful because when we say things to God, he can
- 20:39hold us to it. And that's what happened in
- 20:42Gideon's case. And that was very, I don't know.
- 20:45It's, it's not, I don't really like the rest of that story.
- 20:48But another thing was Hezekiah, he was told that he was going to
- 20:53die. He didn't want to die.
- 20:55He pleaded with God for more time.
- 20:57God said, OK, I'm going to give you 15 more years of life.
- 21:01And then there was a sign that preceded that.
- 21:04So Hezekiah knew that it was true.
- 21:06And he did something like supernatural again, because it
- 21:10was the shadow went the opposite direction of the stairs.
- 21:13Like the shadow would follow a certain way, but it did the
- 21:16exact opposite thing. Like that's something that only
- 21:19God could do. It's not naturally possible.
- 21:22So Hezekiah knew he was going to have his extra 15 years that God
- 21:27gave him. So and there were signs at
- 21:30different times where God would, you know, I remember another one
- 21:35with Rebecca where the, the person that was sent to find the
- 21:40wife for Isaac was, he wanted to do it right?
- 21:45And he prayed to God and he said, so make it so that the
- 21:51person who is supposed to be the wife for Isaac will not only
- 21:56offer my camels or I don't know, not only offer me something to
- 22:01drink, but also my camel. And so that's exactly what
- 22:05happened. So people do ask for certain
- 22:08signs when they want to know God's will, when they just don't
- 22:12understand what the direction is of God.
- 22:17In fact, God also made it a way for people to ask or or to know
- 22:22His way when he designed the ephod that the high priest wore.
- 22:29And on the ephod there were these yumum and thummim which
- 22:36they were like dice if you want to call those today.
- 22:39There were some method of like throwing dice is basically what
- 22:42it was. And the high priest would do
- 22:44that, and he would use these dice to find a direction from
- 22:48God and advise the military leader.
- 22:53So this was a practice. Now, that is a very random
- 22:57practice. And yes, people need to be
- 23:00careful about it because the Bible does say that you don't
- 23:03use magic in those kinds of things.
- 23:06But I think God does know the sincerity of our request.
- 23:11And God may show a sign, but we should also, you know, if we
- 23:17are, we need to ask God to give us some certain sign that can't
- 23:24just be our own creation in our own minds.
- 23:28And maybe a certain, I don't know, I mean, we don't, it's not
- 23:32testing God, but it's really asking God for direction in a
- 23:37certain situation. And, and I think God encourages
- 23:42that throughout the Bible. He wants that.
- 23:44I mean, why would he have given the high priest that ability to
- 23:50use the yumum and thummim to figure out if they were supposed
- 23:55to go to war, if they shouldn't go to war and decisions like
- 23:59that, like they were relying on God and God gave them a means to
- 24:03do that. God also spoke through prophets.
- 24:05But again, here we go back to was this from God or was it
- 24:09someone's own desire that they're saying, you know, it was
- 24:13in their mind and all of a sudden they say, well, I thought
- 24:15about this, so it must be from God.
- 24:17Well, no, not necessarily because like if it's from our
- 24:20own heart, our hearts are it's said in the Scripture that they
- 24:25are deceitful. And if we follow our feelings,
- 24:28that's deceitful. So what I've found personally is
- 24:33when I prayed about something and maybe I don't want to do it
- 24:36or I'm kind of a nervous about doing something, but then I
- 24:39asked God about it and I get the message from God that yes, I
- 24:43should do it and, and I feel confident that it is.
- 24:49And then I do it and everything goes well.
- 24:52That is to me an affirmation that I heard correctly from God.
- 24:59Now it's, it's very risky and I think like all kinds of people,
- 25:03like pastors and everybody, I don't know that all people get
- 25:08it right, but I do think that God does want to communicate
- 25:13with us and God will guide us. And that's something he's he
- 25:18says, if you seek me, you will find me.
- 25:21Now we what we want to seek is what is God's will, not things
- 25:28about like am I going to get a brand new car?
- 25:32Am I going to get a brand new job?
- 25:34I mean, those kinds of things. Those are God provides whatever
- 25:37we need, he provides you. We don't have to ask him those
- 25:40kinds of things. But if we're talking about our
- 25:42direction and what we want to do, we should be asking God,
- 25:47what is your will? What do you want me to do?
- 25:51And I think that's where God will respond to us.
- 25:55And the question of what Joshua had was he was saying the right
- 26:01thing. He was saying that people need
- 26:03to prepare and people need to repent.
- 26:07I remember his message. I, you know, I don't remember at
- 26:10all 'cause I did watch it like a month ago and I haven't watched
- 26:12it since. But it did seem like it was
- 26:15along the lines of repentance and preparation and all the
- 26:18things that are right. But and so again, was this done
- 26:24by the enemy to have this big deception to where nobody trusts
- 26:31anybody anymore, even if there are truly people getting word
- 26:35from God. And now everybody's going to be
- 26:38skeptical because this happened because this went viral.
- 26:43And that's that's a very good chance.
- 26:44That's the way it will be. And it's very interesting
- 26:49because I like, again, what I said before was that people will
- 26:56become skeptical and I have reasons for saying this, but I
- 27:01want to read through some things about the Word of the Lord.
- 27:05Do a word search, likeblueletterbible.org is a
- 27:09great resource. And in it you can choose
- 27:13whatever book you prefer, whatever translation you prefer,
- 27:16and you can type in a verse or words and it will show you where
- 27:21they are throughout the Bible. So I did that for the Word of
- 27:26the Lord because that was referenced and it occurs 2015
- 27:31times in 272 verses, including 200, 31 exact phrases that are
- 27:38shown. First there are 6 pages of that.
- 27:40I'm not going to read all these to you, but do this for yourself
- 27:45and then read through it. And then you can Click to hear
- 27:47the, you know, to read the whole story to get it in context.
- 27:51But some of them I will read. And I'll just say after this,
- 27:55the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision.
- 27:59Do not be afraid Abram, I am your shield.
- 28:01You're very great reward. So God spoke to Abram in a
- 28:07vision. Now this says Abram, this is
- 28:09before his name was changed to Abraham.
- 28:12He the word of the Lord came to him in a vision and he said,
- 28:17don't be afraid. I am your shield, your very
- 28:20great reward. So in it, and I guess in a
- 28:26translation it says I or it could also mean your reward will
- 28:31be very great. That seems to make more well
- 28:35your very great reward. So he will be rewarded for his
- 28:39obedience. God does seem to do that, but he
- 28:43spoke to a lot of people in Exodus.
- 28:46It said those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word, the
- 28:50officials of Pharaoh. So these are they feared the
- 28:54word of the Lord. So the officials of Pharaoh,
- 28:57they're probably not believers, but yet they feared the word of
- 29:02the Lord. They hurried to bring their
- 29:04slaves and livestock inside. This is when all the plagues
- 29:08were coming out, and I believe this was the hail occurrence
- 29:11that happened during the Exodus. So there were officials of
- 29:15Pharaoh who feared fear of the word of the fear of God is the
- 29:20beginning of wisdom, but they feared the word of the Lord and
- 29:23they actually brought their slaves and livestock inside and
- 29:28hail just devastated after that. And then it says in Exodus
- 29:32Chapter 9, verse 21. But those who ignored the word
- 29:36of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field.
- 29:40Well, of course, they all got severely damaged.
- 29:45So this is again just showing that God speaks through people.
- 29:53He can speak in a vision, He can speak in a dream, and the word
- 29:58can come, and I think audibly too, because that was what
- 30:01Samuel. Here's the the thing that says
- 30:04about Samuel. The boy Samuel ministered before
- 30:08the Lord under Eli. He was the priest.
- 30:11In those days, the word of the Lord was rare.
- 30:15There were not many visions. So here it's kind of interesting
- 30:19because it seems like this is a vision.
- 30:22The word of the Lord is a vision.
- 30:25But then in verse, this is in first Sam Samuel chapter 3 Now
- 30:31Samuel did not yet know the Lord, the word of the Lord had
- 30:36not yet been revealed to him. So Samuel was in his early days,
- 30:46he was not really, he didn't know about God.
- 30:49And that's how everyone is. But Samuel actually heard
- 30:54something. He heard something three times,
- 30:56which is also significant to hearing from the Lord.
- 31:01And of course, the enemy is going to try to copy anything
- 31:05that God does. So we really, really need to be
- 31:11like a detective with the Bible. When somebody speaks a quote
- 31:17prophetic word we need to double check it with the Bible for
- 31:21sure. But at this point it says 1/3
- 31:25time the Lord called Samuel and Samuel got up and went to Eli
- 31:29and said here I am you called me.
- 31:30Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy.
- 31:34So Eli told Samuel go and lie down and if he calls you say
- 31:38speak Lord for your servant is listening.
- 31:41So Samuel went and lay down in his place, and then, you know,
- 31:44the Lord continued to talk to him so and then Samuel became a
- 31:49prophet that advised Saul, and the word of the Lord came to
- 31:55Nathan. He was a prophet that advised
- 31:57David, and he said to David at one point Nathan said, why did
- 32:06you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his
- 32:10eyes? You struck down Uriah the
- 32:12Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own.
- 32:16You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.
- 32:19So people get rebuked by the prophets through the word of the
- 32:24Lord. The Lord will use people to
- 32:26rebuke again. The the message of repentance is
- 32:30always appropriate. It aligns with the Bible.
- 32:33And if lots of people are saying repent because the Lord is near
- 32:39or the Lord is coming near or Jesus return is soon, it's wise
- 32:46to listen to that. Whether or not that profit is
- 32:50our person, whatever is accurate about the date is going to
- 32:54happen. The point about being prepared
- 32:58is important and it doesn't hurt anyone to get prepared.
- 33:02But don't, you know, do drastic things like selling or giving
- 33:09away all your property because you know you're not going to be
- 33:11here anymore because you really don't know and you can't, you
- 33:15can't. Obviously this is this is clear
- 33:17that you can't trust in people because people can be deceived.
- 33:24So then it says, you know, another part, the word of the
- 33:28Lord had come to Gad, the prophet David Seer.
- 33:32The word of the Lord came to Solomon.
- 33:35So it's God speaks through people and he when he, he's the
- 33:45one who says it, it comes true. And if he's not the one who says
- 33:52it, then if if God is not behind it, it will not come true.
- 33:58So but a lot of it is the word of the Lord is keeping the
- 34:04commands. So here's another one.
- 34:06He this is another situation that was really bad about a
- 34:14deceiver. Oh, I kind of want to read this
- 34:17this chapter first Kings 13. This is just interesting because
- 34:24it'll tell us a lot about hearing from God here.
- 34:27A man of God from Judah. By the word of the Lord, a man
- 34:32of God came from Judah to Bethel.
- 34:35As Jeroboam was standing by the altar to make an offering by the
- 34:39word of the Lord, he cried out against the altar.
- 34:43Altar, altar. This is what the Lord says.
- 34:45A son named Josiah will be born on the House to the House of
- 34:49David on you. He will sacrifice the priests of
- 34:52the high places who make offerings here, and human bones
- 34:55will be burned on you. That same day, the man of God
- 34:59gave a sign. This is the sign the Lord has
- 35:03declared. OK, so we were just talking
- 35:06about before getting in the fleece and the sign there we
- 35:08talked about Hezekiah and the shadow and the sign that was
- 35:11given there. Here's another example of a
- 35:13sign. The altar will be split apart
- 35:17and the ashes on it will be poured out.
- 35:20So that was the the man of God said, this is what the the Lord
- 35:24will give. Like this didn't happen yet, but
- 35:26he was saying this is what's going to happen.
- 35:28And you'll know this is from the Lord when this happens.
- 35:32When King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against
- 35:36the altar at Bethel, he stretched out his hand from the
- 35:40altar and said, seize him. But the hand he stretched out
- 35:44toward the man shriveled up so that he could not pull it back.
- 35:50Isn't that interesting? So something like deformed
- 35:52happened to the guy's hand. King Jeroboam, when he said,
- 35:56sees him and his hand does something strange.
- 36:00Also, the altar was split apart and its ashes poured out
- 36:05according to the sign given by the man of God, by the word of
- 36:10the Lord. Then the king said to the man of
- 36:13God, intercede with your, with the Lord, your God, and pray for
- 36:18me that my hand may be restored. So the man of God interceded
- 36:24with the Lord, and the King's hand was restored and became as
- 36:28it was before. OK, so that's really
- 36:31supernatural. The king saying sees that guy,
- 36:35he's a man of God, He prays, here's a miracle that's
- 36:39happening. I think I've heard before there
- 36:42weren't any miracles in the Old Testament.
- 36:44Well, there were because Elijah raised.
- 36:46I'm thinking that just came to mind.
- 36:48Elijah raised a child from death.
- 36:51That was one of the miracles that happened.
- 36:55And then here we are reading another one where the King's
- 36:58hand was restored. So this is all through the
- 37:01Spirit of God. No person is making this happen.
- 37:05It is the Holy Spirit residing within the Holy Spirit from God
- 37:09that's making these miracles happen for the glory of God.
- 37:12Any miracle is for the glory of God.
- 37:15Going back to this, this account, the king said to the
- 37:18man of God, come home with me for a meal and I will give you a
- 37:22gift. But the man of God answered the
- 37:24king, even if you were to give me half of your possessions, I
- 37:28would not go with you, nor would I eat bread or drink water, for
- 37:32I was commanded by the word of the Lord.
- 37:35You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you
- 37:40came. So this man of God had heard
- 37:43from God, and God said don't eat bread, don't drink water or
- 37:48return. By the way, he gave him
- 37:49instructions. And obviously this man is close
- 37:53to God because he prayed and the King's hand was restored.
- 37:57So listen to this. So he took another road and he
- 38:01did not return. By the way, he'd come to Bethel.
- 38:04So he's being obedient. Now listen to this.
- 38:07Now there was a certain old prophet living in Bethel, whose
- 38:12sons came and told him all that the man of God had done there
- 38:16that day. They also told their father what
- 38:20he had said to the King. Their father asked them which
- 38:23way did he go? And his sons showed him which
- 38:28Rd. the man of God from Judah had taken.
- 38:31So he said to his son, saddle the donkey for me.
- 38:34And when they saddled the donkey for him, he mounted it and rode
- 38:37after the man of God. He found him sitting under an
- 38:41oak tree and asked him, Are you the man of God who came from
- 38:43Judah? I am, he replied.
- 38:46So the prophet said to him, come home with me and eat.
- 38:50I want to pause for a minute because you know, we hear he's a
- 38:54prophet. There are prophets who hear from
- 38:57evil and there are prophets who hear from the Lord and the Bible
- 39:03is really clear about that. And at one point, Elijah is a
- 39:08great example. So if you just search Elijah,
- 39:10you can see that Elijah was pleading with God saying that
- 39:14I'm the only prophet left. You know, all of these others
- 39:18are worshipping, they're prophets, but they're, you know,
- 39:20calling on Baal or Baal or whatever you want to call it and
- 39:25another Lord. And, and so, but the Lord said
- 39:30to Elijah at that point that he had reserved, like he still has
- 39:34maybe 600 or something. I don't remember the number, but
- 39:39there were, the point being there were prophets kind of on
- 39:42both sides there. There are people who get words
- 39:47or get understanding from the spiritual realm, but not
- 39:52everything that they get is from God.
- 39:56So discernment is really critical.
- 39:58So again, this prophet is in, This prophet probably said
- 40:01things. This old prophet probably said
- 40:04things that were true, that came true.
- 40:07So people probably believed him, but he's getting things from an
- 40:11evil source. Now an evil source could make
- 40:14things true if they hear about it, because they're not
- 40:18omnipresent like God. I think God is the only I think
- 40:22they physically have to be present in spirit so they could
- 40:27hear words that are spoken. But they as far as I know, they
- 40:33cannot hear our thoughts to God. So if we talk to God in our
- 40:37thoughts, they can't. That could be why the mark of
- 40:40the beast in the forehead wants to get into our thoughts, to
- 40:43know what's in our thoughts, perhaps so it can know what
- 40:47people are thinking. Because right now that's one
- 40:49thing. You can say something, but you
- 40:51could do. You could be thinking something
- 40:53the exact opposite of what you're saying if you are a
- 40:56deceiver. So in order to know if
- 41:00somebody's telling the truth or not, they would have to know the
- 41:03thoughts of a person because a person could be thinking one
- 41:06thing but doing another. And that happens all the time.
- 41:10So again, it's complicated, but like the point I'm trying to
- 41:18make that I'm saying way too much is that prophets can hear
- 41:23from evil or from God, and we don't always know what they're
- 41:31hearing from. And it's not to say that the
- 41:34person is necessarily bad, but sometimes the evil can put
- 41:38thoughts even to a good person. And I'll show you that part of
- 41:41that through scripture because you shouldn't just believe what
- 41:44I say, but I need to back it up with Scripture to say why I'm
- 41:48saying what I'm saying about this.
- 41:51So this old prophet then he tells the man of God, come eat
- 41:56with me. The man of God, he's still being
- 41:59obedient to God. He says I cannot turn back and
- 42:02go with you, nor can I eat bread or drink or water with you in
- 42:05this place. I have been told by the word of
- 42:08the Lord you must not eat bread or drink water.
- 42:11There are returned by the way that you came.
- 42:14So twice now he's done the right thing, the man of God, he did a
- 42:20miracle through God and he is obedient to God.
- 42:24He's doing exactly what God says.
- 42:27Now watch what happens. Here's where it turns.
- 42:30The old prophet answered, I too am a prophet as you are, and an
- 42:38Angel said to me by the word of the Lord, bring him back with
- 42:44you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.
- 42:49Now in parentheses it says, but he was lying to him.
- 42:53So there's two different things that I would say.
- 42:55Like if it says like an Angel, there are fallen angels, there
- 43:00are angels that side with Satan and there are angels who are
- 43:06obedient to God. So just because it was an Angel
- 43:09doesn't mean it was good. And it could be a deceptive
- 43:13Angel. And but then here it says he was
- 43:17lying to him. So this is probably a prophet, a
- 43:22quote prophet, but he probably worships Baal.
- 43:26And so he, even though he's a prophet, he's getting stuff from
- 43:30the evil side, not from God. And of course, Satan is trying
- 43:37to separate the man of God from like Satan wants to destroy.
- 43:43And there are alliances. It says in the Book of
- 43:46Revelation, the dragon, which was symbolic of Satan took his
- 43:51tail and he took a third of the angels with it.
- 43:55And and you know, they were cast down to earth.
- 43:59So he took the, the stars, 1/3 of the stars and the stars are
- 44:04symbolic of angels. So Satan and his angels came
- 44:08down to earth. It was a third of the angels.
- 44:11And we have to there's 10 thousands upon 10 thousands of
- 44:14angels. So there's quite a number of
- 44:16angels that Satan that are, you know, allied with Satan.
- 44:20The Bible tells us about this and and angels can appear as
- 44:25people. It says in the Bible that be
- 44:28kind to strangers because in doing so you may have not
- 44:30realized that you had entertained an Angel.
- 44:34So they don't come with ants. They're not flying in the sky
- 44:38like depictions that we see. They can look like an everyday
- 44:42normal human being. So apparently they can.
- 44:47It even shows us that in the Bible because it said angels
- 44:51came to Abraham and Sarah in Sodom and Gomorrah before Sodom
- 44:56and Gomorrah was destroyed. They came to see if that was
- 44:58going to happen or if what they had heard.
- 45:02I mean, they obviously knew God knew that what he had heard was
- 45:06true, but he was interacting with human beings.
- 45:09And he also told Abraham and Sarah they would have a child a
- 45:12year later. And you know, Abraham's like 100
- 45:15years old or Sarah's, you know, you know, 90 years old or
- 45:19something like that. So they're super old.
- 45:20And these people come to visit their angels and tell them these
- 45:26things that are going to happen in the future.
- 45:29So the point again being that angels, some are good and some
- 45:34are bad to keep it really simple.
- 45:36So this prophet goes against what God says to the man of God
- 45:42and he says, but an Angel told me for you to come back with me.
- 45:47So the man of God returned with him and ate and drank in his
- 45:51house. Like that was so simple.
- 45:53So he's, he's trusting this other guy.
- 45:57So that's what we cannot trust other people.
- 46:01We can only trust God. And we also have to know that
- 46:05there are supernatural spiritual forces that can influence human
- 46:10beings. So this is really kind of sad
- 46:13though, because there was this this man of God and he was, he
- 46:18was being obedient to God. But then this third, you know,
- 46:22opportunity kind of came to him and he, I guess he kind of was
- 46:27like, oh, well, maybe maybe, you know, was an Angel.
- 46:30OK, well, I'll, I'll go with you.
- 46:32You know, I guess this is what the Lord wants me to do.
- 46:34Like he changed his mind, but he shouldn't have listened to him
- 46:37because here's what happens after that.
- 46:40While they were sitting at the table, the word of the Lord came
- 46:42to the old prophet who had brought him back.
- 46:45He cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah.
- 46:49This is what the Lord says. You have defied the word of the
- 46:53Lord and have not kept the command.
- 46:55The Lord gave you. So think about this.
- 46:59The guy, this old prophet brings you back, says he is an Angel
- 47:03that told him to do it, feeds you dinner and then accuses you
- 47:07at the table. That's exactly what Satan does.
- 47:11He's the accuser, and so you came back.
- 47:16He goes on. You came back and ate bread and
- 47:18drank water in the place where he told you not to eat or drink.
- 47:21Therefore your body will not be buried in the tomb of your
- 47:25ancestors. When the man of God had finished
- 47:28eating and drinking, the prophet who had brought him back saddled
- 47:31his donkey for him. As he went on his way, a lion
- 47:36met him on the road and killed him, and his body was left lying
- 47:40on the road with both the donkey and the lion standing beside it.
- 47:45Some people who passed by saw the body lying there, with the
- 47:48lion standing beside the body, and they went and reported it in
- 47:53the city where the old prophet lived.
- 47:56When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard
- 47:59of it, he said, Is this the man of God who defied the word of
- 48:02the Lord? The Lord has given him over to
- 48:05the lion, which has mauled him and killed him, as the word of
- 48:10the Lord had warned him. The prophet said to his son,
- 48:13saddled the donkey for me, and they did so.
- 48:16Then he went out and found the body lying on the road with the
- 48:19donkey and the lion standing beside it.
- 48:22Think about all that time that passed, and the donkey and the
- 48:25lion are still standing there. The lion had neither eaten the
- 48:28body nor mauled the donkey. Talk about supernatural.
- 48:32That would not happen in the natural world.
- 48:36So the prophet took the body of the man of God, laid it on the
- 48:39donkey, and brought it back to his own city to mourn for him
- 48:43and bury him. Then he laid the body in his own
- 48:45tomb and they mourned over him and said, At last my brother
- 48:50after burying him, he said to his sons, When I die, bury me in
- 48:53the grave where the man of God is buried.
- 48:55Lay my bones beside, inside his bones.
- 48:58For the message he declared by the word of the Lord against the
- 49:01altar in Bethel and against all the shrines in the high places
- 49:04in the towns of Samaria will certainly come true.
- 49:09The old prophet. At this point, the old prophet
- 49:11apparently realizes he is truly a man of God and that what he
- 49:15said is going to happen. Even after this, Jeroboam did
- 49:19not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priest for
- 49:23the high places from all sorts of people.
- 49:26Not you know, this is to say like God has certain the the
- 49:30Levites and they the tribe are from Aaron, from the lineage of
- 49:35Aaron. Those were the only ones who
- 49:36were supposed to be priests. But during the time of Jeroboam,
- 49:40people just did whatever they wanted to do and they put any
- 49:43kind of people they wanted in these priests places.
- 49:46So it said anyone who wanted to become a priest, he consecrated
- 49:51for the high places and they were worshipping other entities
- 49:54too. This was the sin of the House of
- 49:57Jeroboam that led to the down its downfall and to its
- 50:02destruction from the face of the earth.
- 50:04So long story, but this just shows obedience to God and how
- 50:11much it matters that the word of the Lord.
- 50:13If we get a word from God and somebody tells us something
- 50:17different from what we've heard and we know is from the word of
- 50:21God because of however God communicates us and we've had
- 50:25affirmations from God and it's been private communications.
- 50:29I would really be worried about anything that you speak out loud
- 50:33because in the spiritual realm, I don't know what is listening
- 50:39to that and it's unseen things. But you know, if we're
- 50:43communicating to God through our thoughts, through our minds, I
- 50:47don't believe that the spiritual realm can access that right now
- 50:53and that we can communicate directly with God.
- 50:56And that's probably our best way if we want God to affirm things
- 51:00is just to pray to God where nobody else can hear it.
- 51:03Don't repeat what you're praying to God and ask God you know for
- 51:08specific directions or something that you will know, but don't
- 51:13speak about it to other people and in question if you're truly
- 51:17sincerely seeking God. I just can't imagine it doesn't
- 51:22say anywhere in the Bible where God would not honor that.
- 51:27So it's just we have to be aware that there are evil spiritual
- 51:37forces that can thwart our our communication with God.
- 51:44In fact, we see evidence of that in the book of Daniel when he
- 51:51was praying and the Angel. Now again, this is an Angel.
- 51:56So it's always scary. Usually when an Angel, when I
- 51:59say scary, I don't mean like literally scary.
- 52:04I mean, it's concerning because when an Angel comes, it's like,
- 52:07is this a good one or a bad one? And bad ones can appear like
- 52:11good ones. So that there's another level of
- 52:15questioning and 'cause they, you know, sacred Satan masquerades
- 52:22as an Angel of light. Like this great deception.
- 52:25There's so much deception that we just really need to know
- 52:30what's in Scripture. It's so important right now
- 52:33because we can be fooled and it's not good when we get
- 52:36fooled. And, and it's not even those
- 52:41closest to God, which I'm going to go over, even those closest
- 52:45to Jesus or fooled too. So it's not saying that somebody
- 52:49who gets fooled is far from God because that's not the truth.
- 52:53Those closest, those in his inner circle, those 12 disciples
- 52:59get fooled. So I will talk about that in a
- 53:02minute. So I, I don't want people to
- 53:05think that somebody's far from God because they aren't if they
- 53:10get fooled, but they just have to be aware.
- 53:13Spiritual discernment is so critical.
- 53:16Anyway, there's a lot in here. I, I, I think if I keep reading
- 53:21about the word of the Lord came to Elijah there.
- 53:27I mean, there's just Jehoshaphat said the word of the Lord is
- 53:32with him. You know, there's, there's so
- 53:35much in here about the word of the Lord, the Lord speaking to
- 53:39him. And I think it's better since
- 53:41this has gone on so long for people just to read through all
- 53:45of those sections. And then if it doesn't make
- 53:48sense to you, go back and read that chapter because you do
- 53:51learn a lot about God. And what it does emphasize is
- 53:56that when it is the word of God, we really need to obey it, but
- 54:03it's not going to contradict anything in the Bible.
- 54:06And and we also have to think logically.
- 54:10We need critical thinking. We need to think, is this
- 54:13something God would want? Is this something God says
- 54:16throughout Scripture? Is there?
- 54:18What is the purpose behind it? We have to use some discernment.
- 54:22We can't just blindly follow things that we get told.
- 54:26And you know, if, if it's kind of like, well, maybe God said
- 54:30this. Well, maybe God didn't.
- 54:32I mean, spend some time on it, pray about it.
- 54:35Don't just be impulsive about it.
- 54:40I think we all need to learn from that.
- 54:44Anyway, Like I said, I'm not going to go over that part
- 54:46anymore. But this is I I've talked a
- 54:50little bit about being on the fence like a lukewarm Christian
- 54:55or, you know, being, you know, like I love God, but yet I know
- 54:59I'm rebellious. I'm still a Sinner.
- 55:02The whole topic of grace is so abused in the Bible.
- 55:07It in the not in the Bible. It's not abused in the Bible.
- 55:10It's abused by pastors because there are so many pastors who
- 55:15kind of just say all your sins are covered under grace.
- 55:19Well, accidental sins. Yeah, accidental ones.
- 55:23When you do something stupid momentarily because of our
- 55:28sinful nature. And as soon as you do it, you're
- 55:30like, Oh my gosh, I did the wrong thing, God, I'm sorry.
- 55:34OK, That kind of a thing. Yes.
- 55:36That's what the Bible says grace covers.
- 55:39But grace doesn't cover. I know that God doesn't want me
- 55:43to do this, but I'm going to do it because I want to do it.
- 55:45But thank God for grace. No, it clearly says in Hebrews
- 55:50that if you do that, you are just expecting judgement because
- 55:55that's all that's left. There's no sacrifice that covers
- 55:58that. If you look back in Leviticus,
- 56:01they didn't even get there's nothing.
- 56:04There are no sacrifices that were ever done for it's it's for
- 56:10accidental sins, not for willful sins.
- 56:15No, not for willful sins. The way that our sins are
- 56:19covered is by Jesus's death on the cross.
- 56:22And it's when we go to him in repentance when we say we ask
- 56:27for forgiveness and our mind is that it's is saying I don't ever
- 56:32want to do this again. God like I'm asking for
- 56:35forgiveness. I don't, you know, maybe I have
- 56:38desires to do these things that I shouldn't be doing, but I need
- 56:41your help with that. But I don't ever want to do that
- 56:44again. Help me overcome these.
- 56:46And God never gives us, he never puts us into a situation that
- 56:51will overpower us. He always gives us a way out.
- 56:54It says that in Scripture too. So don't get comfortable in your
- 57:00sins. If you are doing something that
- 57:04you know God doesn't want you to do, stop it right now.
- 57:09Ask for forgiveness. Ask God for the Holy Spirit to
- 57:12help you overcome it, because you will.
- 57:16Do not think that you are too weak and that you just have to
- 57:22rely on grace. That is true that in your
- 57:26weakness you rely on the grace, but grace is the Holy Spirit,
- 57:30and the Holy Spirit is power. So don't say you don't have
- 57:35power, because if you say you don't have power, that means
- 57:38God's not powerful. God is powerful, and if God
- 57:42gives us that power from the Holy Spirit, that means we have
- 57:44the power to overcome sin. Anything else is a lie from the
- 57:48enemy, letting people think they are comfortable when they are
- 57:53not. Do not be lukewarm in, let's
- 57:59see, Colossians 2. I had this one called up.
- 58:01I don't know why, but as I was researching all this stuff, I
- 58:05think it's an important one maybe to read because it talks
- 58:08about the Laodicea. He says, I want you to know how
- 58:12this is Paul writing. I want you to know how hard I am
- 58:15contending for you and for those at Laodicea.
- 58:19Laodicea is known in the Book of Revelation as the lukewarm
- 58:24church. So this is what Paul is talking
- 58:28to the lukewarm people. And for all who have not met me
- 58:32personally, my goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and
- 58:36united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete
- 58:40understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of
- 58:43God, namely, Christ, in whom all hid, in whom are hidden all the
- 58:50treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
- 58:53We get wisdom and knowledge from Christ.
- 58:56I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by find fine
- 59:01sounding arguments. For though I am absent from you
- 59:05and body, I'm present with you in spirit and delight to see how
- 59:09disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
- 59:14So these fine sounding arguments, don't be deceived by
- 59:19them. One of those fine sounding
- 59:22arguments to me is grace thinking that you can keep on
- 59:26sinning and grace covers you. That's a fine sounding argument
- 59:32because it's exploiting grace is what it's doing because it's
- 59:36contradicting scripture. Because I think it's Hebrews
- 59:4010/26 I that's just came to mind.
- 59:43I don't know if that's the right one, but I'm going to search it.
- 59:46Hebrews 10, and I think it is 26.
- 59:55Let me look. Yep, it is.
- 59:58If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received
- 1:00:02the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but
- 1:00:08only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire
- 1:00:15that will consume the enemies of God.
- 1:00:20So someone who keeps on sinning is considered an enemy of God?
- 1:00:27I don't know that I I mean this is already getting really long
- 1:00:30and it's Colossians 2. Colossians chapter 2 is a good
- 1:00:36one to finish reading, but this is already an hour long.
- 1:00:40I want to just talk through a few more things because I think
- 1:00:43people are ignorant of some of these things and just the fact
- 1:00:48of spiritual warfare and of I don't even know what it is.
- 1:00:52If it's an Angel, if it's a demon, if it's Satan himself, I
- 1:00:57don't know, let's just call it evil.
- 1:01:00But what I want to say is what Scripture tells us.
- 1:01:04So I'm going to Luke chapter 22, verse 31.
- 1:01:09This is Jesus telling Peter, who was called Simon, Simon, Simon.
- 1:01:15Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.
- 1:01:22So there's several things we can learn from this.
- 1:01:26Number one is Jesus has authority.
- 1:01:29Satan can't do anything, so if we are in Christ we don't have
- 1:01:35to fear Satan, but if we are living by the flesh, we are not
- 1:01:43in Christ. If you want to read about that
- 1:01:46go to Galatians chapter 5. If we are living in the flesh it
- 1:01:50tells you this is the way people act.
- 1:01:52If you are living by the Spirit, it gives you another example of
- 1:01:55how you live. You can self evaluate and look
- 1:01:59am I living by my flesh? Am I living by the spirit and
- 1:02:03figure it out. If you are living by the flesh,
- 1:02:07just beware that you are not in Christ.
- 1:02:09You are not protected so you need to do something, you need
- 1:02:14to repent is what you need to do and ask Jesus for the Holy
- 1:02:19Spirit because look at this Simon, Simon, Satan has asked,
- 1:02:24we talked about Jesus authority to sift you all this wheat Satan
- 1:02:27wants to destroy. Now these are the 12 guys that
- 1:02:31are hanging out with Jesus that are learning from Jesus his
- 1:02:35closest companions. Satan has asked to sift them.
- 1:02:42And in fact, later Jesus says, Father, I've kept all of those
- 1:02:45that you've given to me. I've kept them safe, but I'm
- 1:02:48going. And that's why he asked for the
- 1:02:49Holy Spirit to come when he was gone so that the Holy Spirit
- 1:02:52could be with them. But the point is, even those
- 1:02:57closest to Jesus in in Simon or Peter, Simon Peter, you know, he
- 1:03:03was the one who said, you know, I would never deny you.
- 1:03:07But what happens? He denies.
- 1:03:10And then and then Peter feels terrible about it because he
- 1:03:15said he would never deny Christ. He denied knowing him three
- 1:03:18times. And Jesus says, Oh yeah, you
- 1:03:19will. You're going to done deny me
- 1:03:21three times before the rooster crows.
- 1:03:24And then that exact same thing happened.
- 1:03:26He denied Jesus three times and then he heard the rooster crow
- 1:03:29and then he knew he did exactly what he said he wasn't going to
- 1:03:32do. So John and Peter were the two
- 1:03:36that thought they were the closest to God and the closest
- 1:03:40to Jesus. And because they would argue
- 1:03:42with one another, they had this competition going on.
- 1:03:44You can see in Scripture that there's this competition between
- 1:03:47John and Peter. Like who does the Lord love the
- 1:03:50most? Now John says the one that the
- 1:03:52Lord loved, he's referring to himself, which I think is
- 1:03:55hilarious. And you know what's really
- 1:03:56funny? It not funny but interesting is
- 1:03:59that John, I think died a natural death.
- 1:04:02All the other ones got killed in a really horrible way.
- 1:04:07John was sent off to an island in Patmos and had this vision of
- 1:04:11Jesus. But he I don't think, I think he
- 1:04:13just did. He was the only one who didn't
- 1:04:16die by some martyrdom. But anyway, it was obvious that
- 1:04:23those closest to Jesus were were still Satan was trying to get in
- 1:04:29there. He was still trying to destroy
- 1:04:31them, but Jesus was protecting them.
- 1:04:34Now they were submitted. They were loyal to Jesus, but
- 1:04:40not perfect. So they did have their, their
- 1:04:44shortfalls at times, like, you know, different times, except
- 1:04:52for one of them, Judas, he wasn't submitted to Christ.
- 1:04:56He kind of like probably like Saul, the first king of Israel,
- 1:05:03where he partially did what God wanted him to do.
- 1:05:07But then he did what Saul wanted, what himself wanted to
- 1:05:10do. And so he was kind of like on
- 1:05:13the fence. Well, if you're on the fence,
- 1:05:16you're God's enemy. That's what we have to really
- 1:05:18understand. That's what Scripture shows us.
- 1:05:21So here in Luke chapter 22 verse 3 it says then Satan entered
- 1:05:28Judas called Iscariot one of the 12 these this is the closest
- 1:05:33circle to Jesus and Satan entered Judas.
- 1:05:38Why? Probably because he wasn't
- 1:05:42submitted to Jesus, because he was on the fence.
- 1:05:46He was partially one of the disciples, but partially doing
- 1:05:50it also said that he liked to take money out of this, the
- 1:05:53money they collected. So he had a little bit of evil
- 1:05:56in him and he wasn't getting rid of that.
- 1:05:59He didn't repent of that. He was still hanging on to his
- 1:06:03sin and Satan entered him. So if Satan entered somebody who
- 1:06:10was in the inner circle of Jesus, do you not think that
- 1:06:14that could happen to followers of Jesus?
- 1:06:17Do you not think that we see that today if they do not have
- 1:06:22the Holy Spirit? So if someone is living fleshly,
- 1:06:28go to Galatians chapter 5. If somebody's living according
- 1:06:31to the flesh, I think that person is at risk.
- 1:06:36If they are living by the Spirit, they are protected by
- 1:06:39Jesus because that's evidence that the whole they have the
- 1:06:42Holy Spirit. So Galatians 5 is so critical
- 1:06:47and and it's just something that we need to be that people need
- 1:06:52to be aware of because we need Jesus's protection, we need the
- 1:06:56Holy Spirit, especially now. So in John chapter 13 verse 27,
- 1:07:02it says the same thing. As soon as Judas took the bread,
- 1:07:05Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him what you are
- 1:07:11about to do, do quickly. And I, you know, I, I just think
- 1:07:22there's, there's, I think Satan can influence a person without
- 1:07:27possessing a person. Satan can put thoughts into a
- 1:07:31person's head. They can act by their own free
- 1:07:34will to choose to do those things.
- 1:07:36It doesn't necessarily mean that they are possessed, but every
- 1:07:39time that you do something in rebellion to God legally, I have
- 1:07:44a feeling, this is my own opinion, that you start giving
- 1:07:47more authority to the evil 1 to rule over you.
- 1:07:52Because it's always like when somebody starts to do a little
- 1:07:56sin, but they don't stop it. Nip it in the bud right away.
- 1:08:00It gets, it grows bigger and bigger and bigger and gets
- 1:08:03harder and harder and harder to get out of.
- 1:08:06Like at first, it's not so bad if I'm, let's just say like a
- 1:08:10chemical of some kind, a drug, a drink, whatever.
- 1:08:13At first, you know, oh, I'm just going to have a sip.
- 1:08:15It's no big deal or smoke or whatever.
- 1:08:18But then that turns into more and more and more and more
- 1:08:21because you're rebelling against God.
- 1:08:23God, you know, in a case of a, a drug or a drink or something
- 1:08:28like that, you know, it says be alert enough sober mind, because
- 1:08:31the devil prowls looking for his next victim.
- 1:08:34When we do that, when we alter our mind, we make ourselves more
- 1:08:39susceptible to the enemy. All right, let's go back again
- 1:08:45to Jesus's closest followers. In Matthew chapter 16 verse 23,
- 1:08:50Jesus turned and said to Peter, get behind me Satan, you are a
- 1:08:56stumbling block to me. You do not have in mind the
- 1:08:59concerns of God, but merely human concerns.
- 1:09:03Now, either I, I think Jesus here was saying to Peter, he was
- 1:09:10seeing like the influences of Satan, that Satan was
- 1:09:14influencing Peter, that he was, you know, Peter was saying, I'm
- 1:09:18going to, I'm going to kill off anybody who, you know, tries to
- 1:09:22do this to you, Lord. Like he's doing these what he
- 1:09:26thinks are good things, but he's hindering Jesus from the next
- 1:09:31step that Jesus had to take, which was to be crucified.
- 1:09:36And and Jesus knew what was going to happen.
- 1:09:39So I don't know if this was, you know, Jesus was aware that one
- 1:09:44of his closest people were being prodded by Satan.
- 1:09:49He wasn't, Peter wasn't possessed by Satan.
- 1:09:52He by no means was possessed. He was just being influenced.
- 1:09:56And that's what there's a difference there in Mark chapter
- 1:10:018 verse 33. But when Jesus turned and looked
- 1:10:04at his disciples, he rebuked Peter, get behind me, Satan.
- 1:10:07He said you do not have the the in mind the concerns of God, but
- 1:10:11merely human concerns. So this was written by two
- 1:10:15different gospels. This was accounted and then not
- 1:10:23to spend like a whole lot of time talking about Satan, but at
- 1:10:28the same time, I think it's important for us to recognize if
- 1:10:33you don't know the enemy is how can you fight off the enemy?
- 1:10:37How can you be aware? If you think that I don't get
- 1:10:42influenced by Satan, you know, I believe in God.
- 1:10:47Well, then I guess you're better than Peter who was present with
- 1:10:54Jesus and one of the 12 closest people who Jesus said, Peter,
- 1:10:59you are, you know, like you are my rock.
- 1:11:04I mean, that's if you think that you are in a unreachable place,
- 1:11:11but Peter wasn't, you know, Peter was, Peter was reachable,
- 1:11:18but you are not reachable. That's crazy because Peter
- 1:11:24again, was vying, you know, it was between John and Peter,
- 1:11:27who's the one that's closest to Jesus.
- 1:11:29And so I don't think any of us should think that we are beyond
- 1:11:33being influenced by Satan. But if we recognize that, we can
- 1:11:38say, Jesus help me because we will know.
- 1:11:41Like if anger is coming over us, that's probably Satan.
- 1:11:46It's influencing us to act out in a fleshly way against another
- 1:11:51person. And we need to recognize that
- 1:11:54immediately. Our snowballs and gets bigger
- 1:11:57and bigger and bigger. And the way we recognize it is
- 1:12:00we don't rely on our own strength.
- 1:12:02We resist. The devil says resist the devil
- 1:12:05and he will flee. He's there, but resist him.
- 1:12:10And you know, ask Jesus. I mean, it always call on Jesus
- 1:12:16that that is like the solution. So again, I'm not trying to
- 1:12:20focus on Satan, but I'm trying to make people aware of Satan
- 1:12:26and not feel like I'm saying anybody is possessed because I'm
- 1:12:31not. But I'm saying he does
- 1:12:33influence. And so when we read through
- 1:12:36these things, you will see that Satan does influence and we need
- 1:12:41to open up our eyes and realize that so that we are not deceived
- 1:12:46and not influenced and thereby acting in accordance with Satan
- 1:12:51instead of with God. So here we go.
- 1:12:56We have 53 verses to read. I'm just going to read through
- 1:12:59them. I'm not going to reference where
- 1:13:01they are, but if you want to do that, you can go to Blue Letter
- 1:13:04Bible and search the word Satan and see all these verses.
- 1:13:09Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census
- 1:13:15of Israel. So Satan made David take a
- 1:13:18census. God told David, don't do that.
- 1:13:23This is again, like a prideful thing.
- 1:13:24Like look at what I've accomplished.
- 1:13:26So David wants to, you know, take a census of people.
- 1:13:30Well, Satan is the one who inspired David to do that.
- 1:13:35And this is 1, you know, this is the King David, but you know,
- 1:13:40God's chosen, you know, Jesus came from the line of David.
- 1:13:44So again, I'm, I'm trying to say that, you know, pay attention to
- 1:13:49this like very significant, very important people, very close
- 1:13:53people to Jesus in Jesus's ancestral line.
- 1:13:57We're all incited by you, influenced by Satan.
- 1:14:02So don't think that we are any different from them.
- 1:14:09We're probably lesser. We're probably further away from
- 1:14:12Christ in, you know, a physical sense.
- 1:14:16And unless we are fully submitted to Him, we are, we are
- 1:14:20an easy talk. We are an easy pawn for Satan.
- 1:14:24But even when we are close to God, we have to realize that
- 1:14:27that's not going to keep Satan from coming after us.
- 1:14:31That's why, you know, bad things happen to good people because
- 1:14:34Satan is coming after the good people of God.
- 1:14:38The people who are close to God will get attacked because
- 1:14:42that's, you know, that I guess the more influence that you
- 1:14:47have, the greater the enemy is going to come against you.
- 1:14:51They're going to take out the the powerful ones.
- 1:14:53So just know this and in Job it says on the day the angels came
- 1:15:01to present themselves before the Lord and Satan also came with
- 1:15:05them. So Satan's in front of God and
- 1:15:07he's also there with angels. The Lord said to Satan, where
- 1:15:10have you come from? Satan answered the Lord from
- 1:15:13roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.
- 1:15:17So Satan is like this eternal being.
- 1:15:21He's been around since Adam and Eve and he's been through these
- 1:15:24thousands of years and he's still like looking around, who
- 1:15:29can I influence? So, and he also has these other
- 1:15:34angels who agreed with him and allied with him that were cast
- 1:15:38out of heaven that are helping him.
- 1:15:41And I don't even know, like I said about demons and all these
- 1:15:44different, I don't care to know. But all I'll say is that these
- 1:15:47evil things that are associated with Satan, there's more than
- 1:15:51just Satan. It's not just him going around
- 1:15:53doing all this. There's other things that are
- 1:15:54working on his behalf to do the same thing, and we need to be
- 1:16:01aware of it, but we don't need to have fear.
- 1:16:04What we need to do is get right with God, repent, ask for the
- 1:16:08Holy Spirit so that we can have the power of God within us that
- 1:16:14Satan cannot penetrate. So OK, let's OK, so in Job then
- 1:16:22the Lord said to Satan, have you considered my servant Job?
- 1:16:26There is no one like him. He is blameless and upright, a
- 1:16:29man who fears God and shuns evil.
- 1:16:33So see this is Job was a really good person.
- 1:16:36He was he feared God. So we had wisdom and he shunned
- 1:16:40evil. He stayed away from it.
- 1:16:43And then does Job fear God for nothing?
- 1:16:47Satan replied. The Lord said to Satan, Very
- 1:16:50well then everything he has is in your power, but on the man
- 1:16:55himself do not lay a finger. Then Satan went out from the
- 1:16:58presence of the Lord. So Satan had to get permission
- 1:17:00from God to do something to all of Job's stuff because it says
- 1:17:07everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do
- 1:17:10not lay a finger. So then it says on another day
- 1:17:14the angels came, this is another day came to present themselves
- 1:17:17before the Lord and Satan also came with them to present
- 1:17:20himself before him. And Lord said to Satan, where
- 1:17:24have you come from? Satan answered the Lord from
- 1:17:27roaming throughout the earth going back and forth on it.
- 1:17:31It sounds like he's restless. He's just going around
- 1:17:34constantly looking over the earth and where he can do
- 1:17:37whatever he's going to do. And so then it says the then the
- 1:17:43Lord said to Satan, have you considered my servant Job?
- 1:17:46There is no one on earth like him.
- 1:17:48He is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns
- 1:17:52evil, and he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me
- 1:17:58against him to ruin him without any reason.
- 1:18:03So the Lord is basically proving Satan wrong and he said he still
- 1:18:08maintains his integrity even though you did a bunch of bad
- 1:18:13stuff to him and then Satan replaced.
- 1:18:16Now it's going to get worse skin for skin.
- 1:18:19Satan replied A man will give all he has for his own life.
- 1:18:24The Lord said to Satan, very well then he is in your hands,
- 1:18:28but you must spare his life. So God is letting Satan inflict
- 1:18:33Job himself, but he said you can't have his life.
- 1:18:39So Job went out from the presence of the Lord and flicked
- 1:18:43it. So Satan went out from the
- 1:18:44presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores
- 1:18:48from the soles of the of his feet to the crown on his head.
- 1:18:53So this goes away. I mean, the, the, the eventual
- 1:18:58story is that Job is pleading with God, saying why are you
- 1:19:03doing this to me and doesn't know about what's happening.
- 1:19:07But God does eventually restore everything.
- 1:19:11And God proves Satan is wrong about Job maintained his
- 1:19:17relationship with God and God proved it through that.
- 1:19:21But the story of Job shows us that Satan is relentless and
- 1:19:28also that Satan is under the power of God.
- 1:19:30God allows Satan to test people, but God always gives us a way
- 1:19:37out. So it's only in this time on
- 1:19:40earth where we're going to have to endure trials and
- 1:19:43tribulations because after Jesus returns, we're well in eternity
- 1:19:49at least we will not have to. We will be separated, Good and
- 1:19:53evil will be separated. And when Jesus returns, Satan
- 1:19:56will be bound for 1000 years. So we won't have to deal with
- 1:20:00him at that point. Then in Zachariah it says, Then
- 1:20:04he showed me the high priest standing before the Angel of the
- 1:20:07Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.
- 1:20:12That was just like the story of the man, the old prophet and the
- 1:20:16man of God where Satan apparently was influencing that
- 1:20:20old prophet because he immediately takes the guy back
- 1:20:23to his home to eat and then starts accusing him for all the
- 1:20:26wrong he did. Well, that's what Satan is doing
- 1:20:28too, right there with Joshua. He's accusing him and that's
- 1:20:34what he will always do. And that's what when we start
- 1:20:36feeling accusations, when we've turned to God, when we've
- 1:20:39repented for our sins, when we've turned to God.
- 1:20:42Don't listen to that. If you want to call it voice or
- 1:20:45those thoughts of I'm not good enough and all these negative
- 1:20:49thoughts, any kind of depression type things, I believe those are
- 1:20:54from the enemy. I believe that is Satan or
- 1:20:56something evil that is influencing people because that
- 1:20:59is not usually about. It's usually it's just bad and
- 1:21:04that's not God. So it's from the evil 1 the Lord
- 1:21:09said to Satan, the Lord rebuke you.
- 1:21:12Satan, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you.
- 1:21:17Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire.
- 1:21:22So Joshua was saved from the fire and he was, you know, he
- 1:21:29was unclean, but God made him clean because he turned to God.
- 1:21:33And anyway, it's again, Satan is trying to get people.
- 1:21:39This is showing what he does and we I think we Oh no, this is a
- 1:21:45Matthew chapter 4, verse 10. Jesus said to him away from me
- 1:21:49Satan for it is written worship the Lord your God and serve him
- 1:21:52only. This is a great example because
- 1:21:57Jesus knows scripture, so does Satan.
- 1:22:01But Jesus uses scripture to get Satan, he said away from me
- 1:22:08Satan, for it's written worship the Lord, Lord your God and
- 1:22:12serve him. Only.
- 1:22:13Satan was trying to tempt Jesus. I'll give you everything because
- 1:22:16apparently Satan does have the rule of the earth.
- 1:22:20Jesus didn't say Satan, you're lying.
- 1:22:22That's not true. You don't have all this.
- 1:22:25Jesus didn't respond with that. He just said worship the Lord
- 1:22:28your God and serve him only. He's like, I'm not serving you,
- 1:22:31Satan. You may have the rule of the
- 1:22:34earth for right now, but I'm not serving you.
- 1:22:37I'm serving God and he just said away from me, Satan.
- 1:22:42So again, knowing Scripture, reading Scripture, being in the
- 1:22:46word every day, in Matthew chapter 12 verse 26, it says if
- 1:22:51Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself.
- 1:22:54How can his Kingdom stand? This is just like a debate with
- 1:23:01the Pharisees that Jesus was having.
- 1:23:03So you have to read that for context.
- 1:23:05It doesn't really give us any insight to what I'm talking
- 1:23:08about right now. Matthew 1623.
- 1:23:11That's where Jesus says get behind me Satan.
- 1:23:14We talked about that already in Mark chapter one, verse 13.
- 1:23:18This is about Jesus being in the wilderness. 40 days be, you
- 1:23:22know, 40 days is like a period of testing, often being tempted
- 1:23:27by Satan. He was with wild animals and
- 1:23:30angels attended him. So again, Satan is, you know,
- 1:23:36being tempted or Satan is tempting Jesus.
- 1:23:41So here Satan is trying it against Jesus.
- 1:23:45So that's a really good point that just came to mind right
- 1:23:48now. If somebody thinks, well, Satan
- 1:23:50doesn't do this to me, I don't ever get thoughts from Satan.
- 1:23:55Why would he not do it to you when He did it to Jesus?
- 1:23:59Really. OK, Mark chapter 3, verse 23.
- 1:24:03So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in
- 1:24:06parables. How can Satan drive out Satan?
- 1:24:08Again, you'll have to read the whole thing in Mark chapter 3.
- 1:24:14That's where that is. Then in Mark chapter 4 it says
- 1:24:19some people are like seed along the path and where the word is
- 1:24:23sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan
- 1:24:25comes and takes away the Word that was sown in them.
- 1:24:29So people can receive the Word of God and they can believe it,
- 1:24:32but something happens, maybe some bad thing happens in their
- 1:24:36life, and all of a sudden then they reject it.
- 1:24:38I don't know what the circumstances may be, but the
- 1:24:41Word of God says that as soon as they hear it, Satan comes and
- 1:24:45takes it away. So Satan is targeting.
- 1:24:47If somebody hears the gospel, somebody hears the Word of God,
- 1:24:52somebody starts pursuing God, Satan's going to come after them
- 1:24:56and try to get it to happen. So we have to know, oh, that
- 1:25:00happens. That actually happened to me
- 1:25:02when I started seeking the Lord. Bad things started happening,
- 1:25:06relationships started failing, all these things like everything
- 1:25:10bad was happening. I started being very depressed
- 1:25:13and I couldn't understand it because I was like, I am living
- 1:25:18more for God now than I ever have in my life and why is all
- 1:25:22this bad stuff happening? I didn't know about this stuff,
- 1:25:26and so I opened up the Bible. I'm going to say God showed me
- 1:25:31that because I think God influences stuff that happens in
- 1:25:34our life. I open up the Bible to the book
- 1:25:37of Job. That was the first book out of
- 1:25:39the Bible that I read and look at what it was about and I was
- 1:25:44experiencing that. To me, that was like God showing
- 1:25:46me this is what's happening to you in your life.
- 1:25:50OK, Then we talked about get behind me, Satan.
- 1:25:54That's documented in Mark chapter 8 and then Jesus said in
- 1:26:00Luke chapter 10 I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
- 1:26:06And then Luke 11 is talking about Satan being divided
- 1:26:11against himself. Then here's another thing about
- 1:26:14sicknesses and ailments and things being not everything, but
- 1:26:20I, I do tend to think this is my own opinion.
- 1:26:23I do think that that the sickness that we get is caused
- 1:26:28by Satan, by something evil, you know, yeah, bacteria, viruses,
- 1:26:35whatever it is, those are means. But something created by the
- 1:26:39evil 1, something fabricated by the evil 1, something that
- 1:26:45there's good bacteria. But then bacteria can be bad,
- 1:26:49like in certain ways too. But bacteria can be good, like
- 1:26:55good gut bacteria versus bacteria that causes pneumonia.
- 1:27:01So bacteria can be good, it can be bad.
- 1:27:05So I think that the enemy uses it against people.
- 1:27:11I really do. So and here this just, this is
- 1:27:15not about bacterias or viruses or anything.
- 1:27:18This is my own personal belief. You can criticize me, whatever,
- 1:27:21I don't care. It doesn't matter to me.
- 1:27:24But I just believe it comes from the enemy.
- 1:27:28Luke chapter 13 verse 16 it says then should not this woman, a
- 1:27:33daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for 18 long
- 1:27:39years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?
- 1:27:47So there it, you know, there this, these are things that you
- 1:27:56know, it, it talks about. There's, you know, that he's
- 1:28:02bound somebody for 18 years. So I don't know.
- 1:28:07I don't know if this person was possessed.
- 1:28:09I don't know. But she was afflicted in some
- 1:28:13manner for 18 years and Jesus was going to set her free.
- 1:28:19So that's just talking about the power.
- 1:28:21She probably didn't know what happened.
- 1:28:23She just probably thought it was a natural effect that yeah, this
- 1:28:27has just happened to me, I have bad luck, whatever, I don't
- 1:28:30know, you know, whatever their belief was or bad experience or
- 1:28:35I don't know if something is wrong with me medically.
- 1:28:38But no, this is saying that Satan has done it.
- 1:28:42Maybe he uses natural things to do that, but it seems like he's
- 1:28:47behind this stuff. That's why people could can pray
- 1:28:52and people can be healed miraculously.
- 1:28:55It's because it's Satan. It's a spiritual thing.
- 1:28:59Then we talked about Satan entering Judas.
- 1:29:02We talked about Jesus calling, telling Simon, Simon, Satan is
- 1:29:06asked to sift all of you. Again, it talks about Judas sent
- 1:29:12Satan entering him and then Peter.
- 1:29:15This is in the book of Acts. Peter says Ananias, how is it
- 1:29:19that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the
- 1:29:23Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you
- 1:29:28received for the land? Again, so Satan influenced
- 1:29:34Ananias and he was withholding money and he was lying to them
- 1:29:40saying that he gave them all the money.
- 1:29:43And then in Acts chapter 26, this is eye opening, Acts
- 1:29:49chapter 26, verse 18, to open their eyes and turn them from
- 1:29:55darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God so that
- 1:30:04they may receive forgiveness of sins in a place among those who
- 1:30:09are sanctified by faith in Me. That is, let's see.
- 1:30:22That is, let's see. I will rescue.
- 1:30:25I'm sending them. So this is G OK, so Paul is
- 1:30:28giving a recount. He's giving the account of his
- 1:30:34vision from Jesus and what Jesus told him.
- 1:30:38He said, I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn
- 1:30:41them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan.
- 1:30:45So Satan has some kind of power over them and turning them to
- 1:30:51God. See, that's like we need to like
- 1:30:53be aware of that, that, that, you know, just like recognize
- 1:30:59this stuff. And it says so that they may
- 1:31:02receive the forgiveness of sins which God gives, and a place
- 1:31:08among those so inheritance, God's Kingdom, who are
- 1:31:14sanctified by faith in me. The Holy Spirit starts working
- 1:31:20in someone to sanctify them. And it's through their faith,
- 1:31:24through belief in Jesus. So those are really critical
- 1:31:30things to understand. And then Paul says the God of
- 1:31:35peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
- 1:31:40So Jesus will soon crush. That was giving in initially
- 1:31:45given in the book of Genesis. I think it might be chapter 3
- 1:31:49where it says that you will strike his heel and he will
- 1:31:55crush your head. Talking about Jesus, the seed of
- 1:31:58the woman, Jesus will crush Satan's head.
- 1:32:02And again this is in Romans. The God of peace, which is Jesus
- 1:32:07will soon crush Satan under your feet.
- 1:32:12And then in First Corinthians chapter 5, hand this man over to
- 1:32:17Satan for the destruction of flesh so that his spirit may be
- 1:32:22saved on the day of the Lord. This is talking about my study
- 1:32:32Bible, basically, or it says dealing with the case of incest
- 1:32:35like this. This is somebody who is in a
- 1:32:39church or part of a Christian community and they're being
- 1:32:43sexually immoral and they're sleeping.
- 1:32:47It's a a man sleeping with his father's wife, and it says hand
- 1:32:56this man over to Satan for the destruction of flesh so that his
- 1:33:00spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
- 1:33:04So it's. Yeah, obviously Satan will
- 1:33:16destroy the flesh. I mean, who knows if that is
- 1:33:19again some physical thing that happens, and maybe when somebody
- 1:33:24suffers physically, they turn to God and then they may be saved
- 1:33:28on the day of the Lord. That's something I didn't
- 1:33:32prepare enough to talk about that.
- 1:33:34But again, an influence like you know how God uses Satan, perhaps
- 1:33:43that he can for the destruction of the flesh.
- 1:33:47And then in first Corinthians Chapter 7 verse 5, do not
- 1:33:51deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent.
- 1:33:56Consent and for a time so that you may devote yourselves to
- 1:33:59prayer. Then come together again so that
- 1:34:02Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
- 1:34:06This is about sex with it within a married couple because Satan
- 1:34:11comes after married couples and it says, you know, don't deprive
- 1:34:16each other of sex, but maybe you both agree for a time and then
- 1:34:21you devote yourselves in prayer during that time and then come
- 1:34:25back together, start having sex again.
- 1:34:27So Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of
- 1:34:31self-control, because when you have sex all the time, you want
- 1:34:35more sex and and Satan knows that so he can tempt.
- 1:34:38That's how he got the Israelites to sin against God like this is
- 1:34:45Balaam and Balak when they were, you know, asking for a curse.
- 1:34:49Whatever one of the names I can't I get the names mixed up.
- 1:34:52Whoever was the king told the the prophet guy to put a curse
- 1:34:57on Israel and every time he he said I can only do what God
- 1:35:00tells me to do. Every time he tried to curse
- 1:35:03Israel, he could only bless them and the king was getting mad
- 1:35:07because that's not what he wanted.
- 1:35:09But then the prophet comes to the king later and says, but I
- 1:35:13no way that you can get to them. And it was through like the
- 1:35:20temple prostitutes, basically the the false idolatry worship
- 1:35:26where they could have sex with temple prostitutes.
- 1:35:29That's where those were a thing in the day.
- 1:35:31So that's how he could, he could come and appeal to, he couldn't
- 1:35:37get them to maybe disobey God. They were still worshipping God,
- 1:35:40but he could lure them in through sex.
- 1:35:42So Satan will use sex and temptation and you know that is
- 1:35:50the way that he can accomplish separating us from God through
- 1:35:57sexual immoral immorality. And then it says in second
- 1:36:03second Corinthians chapter 2 verse 11, this is probably like
- 1:36:06a A1 to go through, but it says anyone you forgive, I forgive
- 1:36:12also. And what I have forgiven is if
- 1:36:16there was anything to forgive, I have forgiven in the sight of
- 1:36:19Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us
- 1:36:26for we are not unaware of his schemes.
- 1:36:29So I think this is important and it shows that Paul knows that
- 1:36:33Satan is coming against people all the time, and he's talking
- 1:36:37about forgiveness with people that don't hold on to these
- 1:36:41grudges. And you don't want Satan to
- 1:36:43outwit us because we're not unaware of his schemes.
- 1:36:48Like over time, people do figure out what he does.
- 1:36:54And so by anger, by unforgiveness.
- 1:36:59And then in Second Corinthians Chapter 11, verse 14, Paul says,
- 1:37:05and no wonder for Satan himself masquerades as an Angel of
- 1:37:10light. This is what I was wondering.
- 1:37:12Like could Satan masquerade as an Angel of light in a dream?
- 1:37:18Why not? If he can do that in person, if
- 1:37:22he can do that as an Angel, I don't know.
- 1:37:25I think, you know, if people are, you know, we just need to
- 1:37:28see, does it line up with Scripture?
- 1:37:31We have to be careful because Satan masquerades as an Angel of
- 1:37:35light. We have to remember that 2nd
- 1:37:39Corinthians chapter 12 verse 7, or because of these surpassingly
- 1:37:44great revelations, therefore, in order to keep me from being
- 1:37:48conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of
- 1:37:55Satan, to torment me. This is Paul talking about.
- 1:38:00That he had this thorn in his flesh is how he described it.
- 1:38:04And it was a messenger of Satan. And I remember in other parts of
- 1:38:08Scripture Paul said, you know, please take this away from me.
- 1:38:11But God said no, in my strength, you know, my strength is
- 1:38:17sufficient. So he didn't take this away from
- 1:38:20him. And we also see that there was a
- 1:38:22purpose in this. It was to keep Paul from being
- 1:38:27conceited that he was given a thorn in his flesh, a messenger
- 1:38:31of Satan. So look at how God can use
- 1:38:35something like that. I mean, it's just really
- 1:38:38interesting when you get into Scripture, you start seeing
- 1:38:40these things that we just these natural things in the world that
- 1:38:44really have spiritual significance.
- 1:38:49And then in First Thessalonians 2 chapter 18 for we wanted to
- 1:38:53come to you. Certainly I, Paul did again and
- 1:38:57again, but Satan blocked our way.
- 1:39:00So sometimes when you're on the right path, Satan will do things
- 1:39:04to take you off your course. Now you also have to find out,
- 1:39:10is it Satan keeping you from doing something or does God not
- 1:39:14want you to do it? So that takes discernment.
- 1:39:18We really all need discernment. We need to pray to God all the
- 1:39:21time. 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 9.
- 1:39:27We're almost finished. The coming of the lawless one
- 1:39:29will be in accordance with how Satan works.
- 1:39:33He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs
- 1:39:38and wonders that serve the lie. Again, this is about massive
- 1:39:44deceit and it says and all the ways that wickedness deceives
- 1:39:52those who are perishing. So people who are perishing
- 1:39:55don't even know that they're being deceived.
- 1:40:01They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be
- 1:40:07saved. So people who don't like to hear
- 1:40:11what God's Word says, you don't love the truth.
- 1:40:16If you don't love what God says and you're at risk.
- 1:40:22And then again, it says in First Timothy 1, chapter 20.
- 1:40:28Among them are Hymenaeus, I don't know how to say that, and
- 1:40:31Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not
- 1:40:36to blasphemy. So Satan has another purpose.
- 1:40:40He's going to be doing something.
- 1:40:41He's going to teaching them never to blasphemy.
- 1:40:44What happened to them. I have no idea, but it's
- 1:40:47interesting that yeah, just turn them over to the hymn.
- 1:40:51I mean, if can't be, don't blasphemy First Timothy 515.
- 1:40:59Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan.
- 1:41:04So people do choose that, unfortunately, it's, you know,
- 1:41:12oh, this is this is pretty interesting because it's talking
- 1:41:15about widows, elders and slaves. Maybe I should read this.
- 1:41:21Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he
- 1:41:25would your father treat younger men as brothers, older women as
- 1:41:29mothers, and younger women as sisters with absolute purity.
- 1:41:33Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.
- 1:41:38But if a widow has grandchildren, has children or
- 1:41:42grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put the
- 1:41:46religion into practice by caring for their own family and so
- 1:41:51repaying their parents and grandparents for this is
- 1:41:54pleasing to God. The widow who is really in need
- 1:41:58and left alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day
- 1:42:03to pray and to ask God for help. But the widow who lives for
- 1:42:09pleasure is dead even while she lives.
- 1:42:15Give the people these instructions so that no one may
- 1:42:18be open to blame. Anyone who does not provide for
- 1:42:23their relatives and especially for their own household has
- 1:42:27denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- 1:42:32So it's important to help out family.
- 1:42:36No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over 60,
- 1:42:41has been faithful to her husband, and is well known for
- 1:42:45her good deeds such as bringing up children, showing
- 1:42:49hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord's people, help helping
- 1:42:52those in trouble, and devoting herself to all kinds of good
- 1:42:55deeds. As for younger widows, do not
- 1:42:58put them on such a list for when their sensual desires overcome
- 1:43:04their dedication to Christ, Christ they want to marry.
- 1:43:08Thus they bring judgement on themselves because they have
- 1:43:12broken their first pledge. That's really interesting
- 1:43:16because it really talks about like, you know, Christ needs to
- 1:43:22be first and but anyone who is not married but wants to be
- 1:43:30married, sometimes their desire to marry becomes more important
- 1:43:35than their dedication to Christ. And here it says they will bring
- 1:43:40judgment on themselves because they have broken their first
- 1:43:42pledge. The dedication to Christ is
- 1:43:45their first pledge. Besides, they get into the habit
- 1:43:49of being idle and going about from house to house, and not
- 1:43:53only do they become idlers, but also busy bodies who talk
- 1:43:57nonsense, saying things they ought not to.
- 1:44:01So I counsel younger women to marry, to have children, to
- 1:44:06manage their homes, and to give the enemy no opportunity for
- 1:44:10slander. Some have in fact, already
- 1:44:13turned away to follow Satan. So it sounds like some of the
- 1:44:17people who are widowers or widows, you know, turn away and
- 1:44:22just follow Satan. They're not even following
- 1:44:25Christ anymore. So anyway, there's, there's a
- 1:44:30lot more to be said. Boy, there's just so much in the
- 1:44:32Bible. You can't cover it all, but then
- 1:44:36it says in Revelation chapter 2 verse 9, I know your afflictions
- 1:44:40and your poverty, yet you are rich.
- 1:44:42I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and
- 1:44:46are not but are a synagogue of Satan.
- 1:44:49Satan gets in everywhere, synagogues, churches,
- 1:44:52everything. Revelation 2, verse 13.
- 1:44:55I know where you live, where Satan has his throne, yet you
- 1:44:59remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith
- 1:45:02in me, even in the days of Antiphus, my faithful witness
- 1:45:05who was put to death in your city where Satan lives, I where
- 1:45:11the throne is. I looked this up before.
- 1:45:12It's Pergamum, which is in Turkey and the whole Pergamum
- 1:45:17throne. It's really interesting because
- 1:45:21and you can go down a rabbit hole with that.
- 1:45:23So anyway, if you want to search Google for that and maybe you
- 1:45:26find out Pergamum Throne or something kind of interesting.
- 1:45:30Revelation 3, verse 9. I will make those who are of the
- 1:45:33synagogue of Satan who claim to be Jews, yet they are not, but
- 1:45:37are liars. I will make them come and fall
- 1:45:39down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved
- 1:45:41you. Revelation 12 verse 9.
- 1:45:44The great dragon was hurled down the ancient serpent one from the
- 1:45:48Garden of Eden called the Devil or Satan, who leads the whole
- 1:45:53world astray. He was hurled to earth and his
- 1:45:57angels with him. So yes, there is an impact in
- 1:46:04our world and with there is influence.
- 1:46:10He seized the dragon, the ancient serpent who is the devil
- 1:46:16or Satan and bound him 1000 years.
- 1:46:21This is the Angel or the Angel that came down out of heaven who
- 1:46:27will bind. This is when Jesus returns and
- 1:46:30he will be bound for 1000 years. But then it says in Revelation
- 1:46:3420 verse seven that when the 1000 years are over over Satan
- 1:46:39will be released from his prison.
- 1:46:41And the first time I read that, that concerned me.
- 1:46:43But it comes to a quick close. It says when the 1000 years are
- 1:46:50over, after Jesus reigns on the earth, Satan will be released
- 1:46:54from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the
- 1:46:58four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and gather them for
- 1:47:01battle in number. They are like sand on the
- 1:47:05seashore. They marched across the breath
- 1:47:07of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city
- 1:47:10he loves. But fire came down from heaven
- 1:47:12and devoured them, and the devil who deceived them was thrown
- 1:47:18into the lake of burning sulfur where the beast and the false
- 1:47:22prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and
- 1:47:27night, forever and ever. Then I saw a great white throne,
- 1:47:35and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled
- 1:47:39from His presence, and there was no place for them.
- 1:47:42And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the
- 1:47:46throne. And the books were open.
- 1:47:48Another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
- 1:47:52The dead were judged according to what they had done as
- 1:47:55recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that
- 1:47:59were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in
- 1:48:03them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.
- 1:48:08Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire.
- 1:48:14The Lake of Fire is the second death.
- 1:48:17Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was
- 1:48:21thrown into the Lake of Fire. So we need to make sure our name
- 1:48:26is written in the Book of Life. And Jesus told us how that
- 1:48:32happens. So very, very long explanation
- 1:48:36of things. Oh my gosh, almost two hours
- 1:48:39long. I can't believe this is this
- 1:48:41long. Anyway, I better end it now.
- 1:48:45I could even keep on talking more, but I'm going to stop
- 1:48:49right now and think, given people enough to think about.
- 1:48:56Just get right with God. Don't delay it anymore.
