Transcript
- 0:14Speaker 1: It is a Sling TV Sunday recap. All right, so
- 0:18Speaker 1: we're late today. Normally we do a preview of the weeks,
- 0:21Speaker 1: but it is week four almost in the books. We
- 0:25Speaker 1: got a couple more tomorrow. But for the locals, it
- 0:28Speaker 1: was a Try State trifecta of losses. That's right. The Bills,
- 0:33Speaker 1: normally the sturdiest of all three Try State teams, go
- 0:37Speaker 1: down tonight against the Baltimore Ravens thirty five to ten.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I mean, it's one thing for the Ravens to win,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but to win thirty five to ten against Josh Allen
- 0:48Speaker 1: and the Bills, well that's something else. By the way,
- 0:52Speaker 1: this Sunday recap brought to you by Sling TV, an
- 0:55Speaker 1: affiliate sponsor of the One Network on Alex Garrett, and
- 1:00Speaker 1: we're gonna start there. And then, of course the shocking
- 1:03Speaker 1: loss the Jets had against the Broncos. I know it
- 1:06Speaker 1: was a terrible conditions at MetLife Stadium today. It was
- 1:10Speaker 1: only a ten to nine game, but come on, you
- 1:15Speaker 1: had to think that Rogers and the Jets would come
- 1:19Speaker 1: up strong, but actually Rogers got sacked under two minutes
- 1:22Speaker 1: to play. Then a missfield goalie couldn't believe on the
- 1:26Speaker 1: sideline and the Jets take the l And of course
- 1:30Speaker 1: we all know what happened on Thursday night. I've recapped
- 1:32Speaker 1: it a little bit, But the Giants falling to the Cowboys,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I'm still saying. I'm still saying they could be a
- 1:43Speaker 1: playoff team. There are seven teams that make it. The
- 1:47Speaker 1: door is still open for the Giants. Eagles getting stuck
- 1:50Speaker 1: today by the Buccaneers. Jaye and Daniels and the Commanders
- 1:54Speaker 1: looking pretty commanding in the NFC East, but everywhere else
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's gonna be a doll right, It's gonna be a fight.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And then I think of the other team I was
- 2:05Speaker 1: rooting for today because something told me to where Walter Peyton,
- 2:09Speaker 1: the famous Bear, the Hall of Fame bear running back
- 2:13Speaker 1: today and they won. We repped a Walter Peyton jersey
- 2:20Speaker 1: from fanatics and they won against the Rams. Caleb Williams
- 2:25Speaker 1: having his moment today, and I'll tell you what, that's
- 2:30Speaker 1: exciting stuff. And we've vented about him a little bit
- 2:33Speaker 1: last week on Terminostake. But for Caleb and the Bears
- 2:39Speaker 1: to win, oh my goodness, that is that is huge.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And I know my dad must be smiling right now
- 2:45Speaker 1: because you know the Bears were his team. The Bears
- 2:48Speaker 1: were his team. By the way, as I'm going through this,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I want to remind you Sling TV is the sponsor
- 2:57Speaker 1: and you can find their affiliate link in the SEO
- 2:59Speaker 1: justscription below. Can't wait to provide that for you, end
- 3:03Speaker 1: for you to sign up with us, because it guess
- 3:05Speaker 1: what with Sling TV, you get red Zone every Sunday.
- 3:09Speaker 1: That's right, every Sunday, you get NFL Red Zone. So
- 3:13Speaker 1: join us on Sling TV, take the NFL on the
- 3:15Speaker 1: go with you, even if you're at a bar and
- 3:17Speaker 1: they might have every game, but they don't have your game.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Maybe red Zone and sling will be the what you
- 3:22Speaker 1: need even at the bar on Sunday during the NFL season.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And then, of course I think of the other history.
- 3:34Speaker 1: To me, the storyline were the Chiefs again they go
- 3:40Speaker 1: four and oh. But Travis Kelcey has been really highlighted
- 3:45Speaker 1: as someone who doesn't look happy. He looks miserable on
- 3:48Speaker 1: the sideline and even though they're winning, how bad does
- 3:51Speaker 1: he look? Well, you know what he did today? He
- 3:54Speaker 1: actually became the franchise record for Let me get this right,
- 4:07Speaker 1: because it's the thing that's never been accomplished. He made
- 4:16Speaker 1: franchise history for the Chiefs today, recording it not only
- 4:20Speaker 1: the second reception of the half, but he officially surpassed
- 4:24Speaker 1: Tony Gonzalez for most receptions in franchise history. So whatever
- 4:31Speaker 1: friction you think that Kelsey and the team have, boy
- 4:35Speaker 1: oh boy, he just smashed her record and maybe smashed
- 4:37Speaker 1: that thought process because Gonzales ended with thirteen hundred and
- 4:41Speaker 1: twenty five receptions Kelsey which most ever by a tight
- 4:49Speaker 1: end in the NFL. Nine under sixteen of those were
- 4:51Speaker 1: with the Chiefs. Remember, ended his career I believe in Atlanta.
- 4:56Speaker 1: But Kelsey's fourth catch up the game today was his
- 5:00Speaker 1: nine hundred and seventeenth career catch. So he is you know,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I don't know if we'll get to thirteen hundred and
- 5:06Speaker 1: twenty five, but he's well on his way to at
- 5:09Speaker 1: least a thousand receptions in his career. But he owes
- 5:13Speaker 1: the Chiefs franchise record. And so for those thinking how
- 5:16Speaker 1: miserable he is, thinking what's wrong with Travis? And while
- 5:22Speaker 1: the team's winning, well, there he is breaking a record
- 5:25Speaker 1: and breaking back into the swing of things. So those
- 5:30Speaker 1: are the things that stood out to me as a
- 5:33Speaker 1: AFC East Jets Bills follower. Seeing the Patriots go down
- 5:39Speaker 1: against the Niners was great. It's gonna be a test
- 5:42Speaker 1: for the Niners every week because they have to go
- 5:44Speaker 1: without Christian McCaffrey, who's out for a while. Right. And
- 5:49Speaker 1: then you've got, as I mentioned, the commanders all over
- 5:55Speaker 1: the Cardinals forty two to fourteen, and whatever moments that
- 6:00Speaker 1: out to you today, let me know, Alex Alex GNYC
- 6:05Speaker 1: dot com. And of course across the leagues they are
- 6:08Speaker 1: honoring and trying to help hurricane relief with the scrap
- 6:14Speaker 1: con all with Helene and the Carolinas and death toll
- 6:18Speaker 1: on the rise. It's good to see the NFL pitching
- 6:21Speaker 1: in the community today and it might drop down that
- 6:27Speaker 1: link as to how you can help support those with
- 6:29Speaker 1: Hurricane Helen. Finally, finally, I'm not gonna go do everything
- 6:35Speaker 1: in the NFL today, but I will say former Jet,
- 6:39Speaker 1: former Jet Sam Darnold is four and oh.
- 6:43Speaker 2: With the Vikings, they actually scored twenty eight first half points,
- 6:48Speaker 2: then only three second half points, but that was all
- 6:51Speaker 2: they needed, even though the Packers made quite a comeback
- 6:55Speaker 2: to make it thirty one twenty nine.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Minnesota holds Darneld goes four and oh and uh, that's
- 7:07Speaker 1: pretty exciting because here's a guy who looked like he
- 7:11Speaker 1: was out of sorts as a jet. But it's very
- 7:15Speaker 1: interesting to see when they're out of the jet, you know, playbook,
- 7:20Speaker 1: and into someone else's playbook, they can actually thrive. And
- 7:23Speaker 1: he's an example of that. Of course they got they
- 7:26Speaker 1: let you know, Kirk Cousins go and JJ McCarthy has
- 7:35Speaker 1: has season in ending injury, setting the stage for Donald
- 7:39Speaker 1: who look out at FC North four and oh Minnesota,
- 7:42Speaker 1: so good for good for Donald. You know, you like
- 7:45Speaker 1: to see a guy who's may have struggled here succeeds
- 7:48Speaker 1: somewhere else. I know it sounds paradoxical, but it is
- 7:51Speaker 1: kind of interesting to see him thrive where he's supposed to.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And clearly Minnesota is his bally Wick right now. And
- 7:58Speaker 1: why not? Why not when one of the best receivers
- 8:01Speaker 1: in the NFL am I right, because I'm thinking of
- 8:11Speaker 1: Jefferson of the Vikings. Jefferson is one of the best
- 8:14Speaker 1: receivers in the NFL right now. When you have that guy,
- 8:18Speaker 1: why wouldn't Darnald be really solid and firing on all
- 8:25Speaker 1: cylinders if you will and let me get the exact
- 8:31Speaker 1: totals here. Justin Jefferson six receptions eighty five yards most
- 8:36Speaker 1: of the team, one touchdown, Jordan Aisennat catching a touchdown
- 8:40Speaker 1: as well, three three receptions seventy two yards. So yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 1: Vikings look like they've got it together. Baker Mayfield and
- 8:50Speaker 1: the Buccaneers had it together today against the Eagles. And
- 8:54Speaker 1: I keep telling Luther Mainello and others, Nick Sirianni could
- 8:58Speaker 1: be on the hot seat. I mean, you lose to
- 9:01Speaker 1: a team like the Buccaneers today who are too and one,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but they're supposed to beat the Bucks and they don't.
- 9:08Speaker 1: It has to make you wonder how they could lose
- 9:13Speaker 1: in that fashion of kind of getting blown out. Can
- 9:20Speaker 1: I say that? I think I could say that there's
- 9:22Speaker 1: about thirty fourteen to one point. Final score there down
- 9:29Speaker 1: in Tampa was thirty three sixteen, So not a good showing.
- 9:32Speaker 1: While Malex Herrett with this Sling TV Sunday recap of
- 9:36Speaker 1: Week four, there are two games tomorrow and we'll have
- 9:39Speaker 1: the entirety of the recap with Terminelo's take on Tuesday
- 9:43Speaker 1: or Wednesday. But Miami against Tennessee Detroit versus Seattle tomorrow night,
- 9:51Speaker 1: another team on a room for Detroit. I know all
- 9:53Speaker 1: love the place here, but there are certain folks that
- 9:56Speaker 1: I root for their team, and Detroit certainly them. By
- 10:00Speaker 1: the way, that city's already a buzz because the next night, there, guys,
- 10:05Speaker 1: the Tigers are going to be playing the Orioles. Ye
- 10:08Speaker 1: all on the road, but come on, you got the
- 10:11Speaker 1: Tigers in the postseason for the first time in ten years.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So Detroit continues to bush. I remember last year's buzz
- 10:20Speaker 1: with the Lions, Well it translates into the Tigers and
- 10:29Speaker 1: all that. While the Lions slept, well, they're waking up
- 10:32Speaker 1: tomorrow night against Seattle. We got to see what happens there.
- 10:36Speaker 1: For now, I'm Alex Garrett, One Leg Up Network, and
- 10:40Speaker 1: we'll talk to you soon. Have a great rest of
- 10:44Speaker 1: your NFL week, and we'll catch up on Tuesday or Wednesday.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You're on the sports side of the One Leg Up Network.
